💗 - How long does it take your muse to fall in love?

Leon is quick to get crushes, though they tend to be fleeting. He isn't super aware of his own feelings about people, and he tends to talk himself out of his feelings because of various reasons. Too busy, too shy, too awkward, not the right time to entertain thoughts about a relationship, no clue how relationships even work, etc, etc.

But love?

He's pretty slow to fall in love. It's like Friendship+ for him honestly, where he has to be friends with the person and know them like that before he falls in love, and if the relationship ever becomes dating first and friendship second, he gets a little lost and put off. Friendship is always going to be a first for him.

🍨 - What are expectations your muse has had about love that either was false or impossible to live up to?

Despite how inexperienced he is with relationships, he kind of has always had a pretty grounded idea of romance and love thanks to his parents examples. He thinks about it in the way that his mom and dad were: very loving and communicative and accepting no matter what.

What he never realized was just how hard it is to communicate when he's spent his life as a people pleaser, and that every fight can't be avoided simply by talking it out. Especially with his work schedule to take into account and his inability to say no.

So, while it isn't really a false or impossible expectation to live up to, it certainly is a hard standard to meet at times.

❤ - What's something you feel like your muse needs to work on for a relationship to happen or for a relationship to be healthy? Do you think that's possible? Or is it something that'll likely never happen?

It's possible for him to have a healthy relationship, but it definitely is a Process™.

He's a workaholic and has been since he became Champion, and has a really difficult time saying "no" and expressing his wants and needs. So even if he's uncomfortable, chances are good that he'll just smile and go along with it anyway because he doesn't want to rock the boat by being disagreeable. He can be a flake on top of that, and will usually end up putting work before his relationships unless he's told directly not to (and no matter how much Leon wants to take the day off, if Rose tells him to come in, he will).

In order for a relationship to work, his partner has to be extremely forward with him and make him make room for them. They also need to remind him that he isn't just the Champion, but he's Leon, and he has needs of his own.

🥰 - Is your muse good at telling when others have feelings for them?

Absolutely not. He isn't even good at telling himself when he has feelings for someone. If someone wants him to know they have feelings for him, they need to tell him to his face and very bluntly.

💖 - What traits does your muse find physically attractive?

I have to sit and think about this for a second and make a bulletpoint list.

Taller than him (with or without heels)

Big hands

Sharp teeth

Infectious laughs

Gives great hugs

Strong

A really nice ass

The movie theater in Wedgehurst was a small affair, hardly large enough to have more than three projectors, and mostly featured older movies. If someone wanted to see a newer film, they would need to go to a city for that, but the tickets were cheap and the seats comfortable and the concessions affordable, so most people in the Postwick-Wedgehurst area didn’t complain. Leon certainly didn’t, especially since his dad worked there and was in charge of the projectors.

And that meant that Leon got the best seat in the house when he went with his father to work.

Not everyone got to sit in the projector room afterall, cluttered as it was with massive wheels that the films were spooled on and tape and film scraps, and the projector was a massive beast of a machine that was noisier than it had any right to be. The lights in the projection room were dim so as not to damage the film, and the floor creaked and sagged under even Leon’s light weight. But it held the heavy machinery and his father’s weight well enough, so he had complete faith that he'd be fine.

He sat on a desk, kicking his feet as he watched his father join the film together with highlighter-yellow film tape, hands outstretched to hold the film scraps that got handed to him every now and then.

His father hunched over the small workspace next to the projector wheels, glasses sliding down the bridge of his nose, and gold eyes focused intently on his worked, only pausing to glance over and make sure Leon hadn’t moved or touched anything he shouldn’t.

Leon was only six after all, and there were many things he could get his curious fingers stuck in.

But Leon knew better; his father had been very patient with him when describing what he could and couldn’t touch and why, and Leon was nothing if not a good listener.

Still, he was a bit restless.

“Can I put the next one together?” He asked suddenly, a bit of a whistle in his voice from the empty space in the front of his mouth where a tooth was missing. “I’ve watched you do it, I think I can do it!”

His father hummed a bit, straightening and holding the film up to the light to make sure he’d lined it up properly. The contraption he used had ridges that fit neatly into the edges of the film, but he could never be sure, especially with as unsteady as his hands had been lately. “I don’t know,” His father said in a light and airy tone as he laid a hand on the metal disk that the first of the film reels was spooled onto and began to feed the recently joined spool onto it. “You’re a little too short to see it properly.”

Leon puffed his cheeks up with air. “I can stand on the film canister!” He exclaimed.

“Hm, or maybe a proper stool, eh?” His father chuckled. “Alright, you can put the next part on. You’ve seen me do it often enough, I think you can handle that much.” He glanced at Leon and added, “but I’ll trim the ends. Maybe when you’re older you can handle that.”

Leon grinned, pleased just to be able to do that much.

With the second reel fed onto it, Leon hopped off his perch and grabbed the stool that had been propping up a box of poster tubes and set it where his father had been standing. With the older man’s strict supervision, Leon held the tail ends of the film up to the light like he’d seen his father do a million times before. He flipped the unattached film over, making sure he had them in the right orientation before pressing them into the film joiner.

“Alright, now, grab the handle there,” His father said, holding the film in place at the far edges so as not to get his fingers pinched. “And put some pressure into it, then we’ll flip it over and do it again, okay?”

“I know how to do it!” Leon said confidently, grabbing the handle with both hands. He brought it down carefully, then firmly, standing on the tips of his toes to put his weight into pressing down on it. The machine clicked loudly, and he pushed it up, taking the film and flipping it over and repeating.

He grinned at his work, holding the film up and making sure he had it right.

“Good job! Now, scoot over and let me reel it up. Want to help me thread the projector after we’ve finished joining the film together?” Leon’s father ruffled his hair, and Leon grinned broadly, looking excited at the prospect of helping with such a technical side of things.
