Ok my sins are keeping me up late at night so of course I'm going to post about ysblf. I am not a fic writer, actually I'm not a writer of any kind other than bad, but I really wish I could come up with a storyline in which Armando and Betty develop a somewhat healthy relationship, or at least one in which they get together without having gone through the ordeal of seducing/getting used. I will love reading your ideas, even fanfic recs if you know any. My own theory will be in the tags
#I THINK it could be possible for Betty and Armando to get together in a normal-ish way because#In the small period of time before Mario gets into Armando's head and convinces him he has to seduce Betty to keep the company safe#During that time Armando and Betty had something pretty sweet going on#Of course I think getting anywhere near romantic would've taken much longer than it does in the soap#But I think they could've eventually gotten there#BECAUSE Armando's and Betty's relationship was really nice#It was quite damped in inequalities tho#So I think in this alternative narrative the first step would be to get them to stand on the same grounds#Even the situation#So help Betty get more confidence and get the career she had always wanted#And help Armando break away from his unhealthy relationships and bad influences and help him be bold#Maybe then Armando starts to see Betty with longing eyes#And maybe Betty tries to go out with other people#To learn a lil about relationships and learn to stand up for herself MAYBE#And MAYBE then Armando realizes he feels jealous#Which he wouldn't want to admit not because Betty used to be an “uggo” but because he's always seen her as this sweet angel of a person#And MAYBE he goes on a personal quest to find himself because MAYBE he starts wondering wether he could ever be with someone like Betty#Could he ever be with someone so honest kind intelligent knowgeable innocent loyal yada yada basically so perfect when he is such a torment#That has been a cheater and what not#But then I need something to happen so he decides he wants to try to become the man Betty deserves#(which is what he does in the original story teehee)#And I don't know what that could be#But yeah I think so far we could get pretty cute scenes of them bonding#Armando being proud of Betty seeing her grow up and treat herself better#Scenes of Betty doing things she's scared of and then getting that reassurance knowing she's always been capable of those things#And our beloved scenes of tortured Armando#But then what is gonna push Armando to decide he wants to be good for Betty#I don't know if I want it to be jealousy#MAYBE it'll be some situation in which he realizes he has to fight for her or he'll loose her forever#Meanwhile for Betty

🌊 DATING PERCY JACKSON
masterlist | rules
jason’s version | leo’s version | frank’s version | travis’ version | luke’s version
in which he pauses and says, "you're my best friend"
pairing percy jackson x fem!reader
warnings mention of a scary quest where percy almost died
Dating Percy is like dating your biggest fan, because he is. You are dating your biggest fan
It takes him a while to realise he likes you and that all the things he’d do for you aren’t just because you’re his friend, but once it finally clicks it's all he can think about
From that moment, he becomes #1 loverboy
“Percy, what are you doing?” Annabeth asked, watching as Percy frantically sifted through his many blue t-shirts. Acknowledging her presence, Percy breathed a sigh of relief as he pulled two of them out of his closet and held them up next to his face.
“Gods, Annabeth, I’m so glad you’re here! Now, I’m about to go see Y/N at the beach and I need you to tell me which looks better with my eyes: the teal or the aqua.”
(They are one hex letter apart)
It's very endearing and he doesn’t even try to hide it!!! But of course you’re the only person who doesn’t notice, thinking he just really wants to be your friend, because Percy’s nice and friendly with everyone
He follows you around everywhere trying to find out more about you so he can plan the perfect first date
You’re an Apollo kid who works in the infirmary? Percy’s first in line for Will’s first aid summer course. You harvest strawberries with the Demeter and Dionysus kids? Percy’s there before everyone else with 3 wicker baskets on each arm
Eventually, you do end up becoming really good friends because he’s just always there and really fun to talk to and super nice and good with kids and maybe he’s a little cute, you’re allowed to have cute friends!
You would’ve been teetering the thin line between friends and dating for ages if it wasn’t for Annabeth, who devises a plan to get you alone and somehow managed to get the whole camp in on it
That’s how you both ended up at the beach, Percy with a note in his jean pocket that read, “tell her or I will - A”
Turning to you, the corners of Percy’s mouth couldn’t help but lift as he watched you admire the way the waves lapped over the shore. That moment would be ingrained in his head forever, because it was the moment he fully understood he had to have you
His nerves betray him
When you ask, “what’d you wanna tell me?” Instead of saying some heartfelt confession that’d make you swoon, Percy states a simple fact: “You’re my best friend.”
It turned out fine though, because you knew what it was. You felt the same way. (listen to you are in love by taylor swift!)
Once you start dating, you are practically attached at the hip. Wherever you go, so does Percy and vice versa
When dating Percy, you truly get the best of both worlds because not only is he your boyfriend, he is also your best friend and truly someone you can lean on when needed
Loyalty is his fatal flaw so expect a LOT of loyalty. Like a concerning amount. He would find ways to justify you murdering a whole family if he had to
However, what comes with loyalty is protectiveness and jealousy. He doesn’t get that jealous because he knows that you two were literally written in the stars by Aphrodite herself, but he still can’t help but get a little jealous when he sees you with some other guy
Just kiss him a little and maybe stay the night at Cabin 3 and never speak to that guy again and he’ll be fine
Inherited motherly traits from Sally. Always checking you for cuts and scrapes after capture the flag, makes you a lunchbox before quests and then insists he goes with you to make you more food when needed and definitely not because he’s worried you won’t come back alive!
He knows you can handle yourself and all but he can’t help it. Out of everyone at camp, Percy’s your number one guy when it comes to dangerous quests
One of his biggest fears that kind of kept him distancing himself from you when he was crushing on you was that he didn’t want you sucked into all the dangers he goes through on a daily basis. He’d rather watch you date someone ‘safe’ from afar than put you in harm’s way 24/7
You’d choose him over a literal God though, so he has no choice but to be stuck with you. Power couple!
After a really bad quest, one where almost died, Percy sat you down at his cabin for a talk. Part of him didn’t want to tell you what happened, but he knew it’d be unfair on your end if you were left in the dark.
“Look, I understand if you don’t want to stay with me. If it weren’t for Grover’s quick thinking, I don’t know what would’ve happened to me, and it’s not right for you to be stuck with a guy who’s basically friends with death. You deserve someone more sta–”
You shut him up with a kiss :) “Percy, when I agreed to date you, I didn’t just agree to all the good things, I agreed to the uglier parts of your life too. Sure, I was really worried while you were gone, but that’s just part of being a demigod, and it's a price I’m willing to pay for all the amazing moments we have together, so don’t even think about me leaving you.”
Anyways, he introduces you to Sally and Paul as soon as humanly possible. They already know a concerning amount about you considering you guys never met, but that’s just because Percy would rant to them about his crush on you on a daily basis
He's so incredibly happy watching you get along with his family. All of his favourite people gathered <3 very sweet
He also loves to see you interact with Estelle!! Percy is a huge fan of kids so he can’t help but stare as you play peekaboo with his younger half-sister (babysitting Estelle fic here!)
Percy also introduces you to the ocean and everything about it. You liked it before, as it was beautiful and reminded you of camp, but Percy painted it in a whole new light
He’d constantly take you on trips under the sea, using his Poseidon kid powers to allow you to be able to see and breathe underwater like he does
This also means lots of making out underwater. After that one time you two got caught kissing by the Stolls, suffering major consequences, he hasn’t been able to risk it
Overall, dating Percy is very fun & your relationship never ever gets boring trust

Fantasy retelling of Northanger Abbey:
Innocent young Catherine Morland is overjoyed to have the chance to go to the King's City, leaving her quiet country town for a more diverse and magical metropolis.
Catherine loves reading fairy tales about the dramatic deeds of long-ago fae.
Henry Tilney is a trickster fairy prince who is jaded by a lifetime of dealing with the machinations of the fae courts. He gets amusement out of living among humans and laughing at their follies.
Catherine meets Henry and is immediately awed at his backstory and (metaphorically) enchanted by his charming personality.
For reasons unknown, Henry's father encourages Henry to romantically pursue Catherine. Henry half-heartedly goes along with it, because it's not a bad idea to stay in Dad's good graces.
And then he's shocked to find himself actually falling in love--because Catherine loves him and because she's genuinely innocent and good in a world where he thought such people didn't exist.
To everyone's surprise, Catherine gets an invite to stay at Henry's father's palace.
An actual enchanted fairy palace? How could Catherine say no?
As they're traveling there, Henry plays up all the old fairy tale tropes warning Catherine how to behave. He's joking (things haven't been like that for centuries) but Catherine still takes it to heart.
Catherine hears of the dramatic tale of the life and death of Henry's mother (perhaps a human? So Henry's actually only half-fae?). With her imagination primed by the stories she knows, Catherine starts to interpret faint "evidence" as proof that his mother's actually hidden away under a fate-worse-than-death curse, perhaps just waiting for a pure-of-heart maiden to come break the spell.
Henry catches Catherine during her quest and is amused and a bit offended. Do you know what you're saying? Maybe things like that could happen long ago and far away, but the fairies are Christianized now. Enchantments like that are far too brutal to consider.
She's right that his dad's a jerk, though.
Not long after this, Henry's dad sends Catherine away in disgrace. He had heard that Catherine was the Chosen One of a prophecy and wanted her to increase the power of his kingdom. He's shocked to learn it's not true (you mean humans can lie?), and in his anger he's harsh in sending her away.
Henry refuses to abandon Catherine and gets himself banished for refusing to give her up.
He shows up at her ordinary home and declares his love and they live happily ever after.

y’know I find it so interesting that often in adapted versions of Hamlet that shorten/change the play extensively, Horatio is usually among the first things to go.
The Lion King, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (to an extent), heck even the Simpsons, all manner of adaptations long and short all without any substitute/notable role for Horatio or a suitably similar character. And I get why. He doesn’t do much on his own that impacts the plot, meaning that hardly any of the actual story beats are missed without his interference.
But I think that just provides a really interesting insight into what his character stands for in the most meta sense of his writing, to be honest; Horatio is necessary, despite being unnecessary. He’s the one who writes the story down in the first place, it’s his to tell- the very first scene starts not with Hamlet’s father’s death or even with Hamlet himself, but with him, Horatio, and at the end once everyone is dead, he’s the only one left to tell the tale.
He’s also the only one who ever sees the full picture. He sees the ghost firsthand, he’s the one to tell Hamlet about it, and in return Hamlet tells him everything. His thoughts, plans, and murder-y boating escapades, Horatio is the only other person to ever know about it all. At the same time, Hamlet hardly ever seems to stick around to see the consequences of his own actions- and it’s Horatio who witnesses them instead. Horatio is the one to take care of Ophelia when she goes mad, the one who sees just how deeply Hamlet has wounded her in his quest for a ‘just revenge’. Horatio is the one to hear Hamlet recount the deaths of his childhood friends to him with something that sounds uncomfortably like pride.
Horatio is the one that’s told by Hamlet that he’s held in his ‘heart of hearts’, the one who’s at the other end of Hamlet’s flattery and admiration, all the while witnessing what becomes of Hamlet’s previous closest companions. His lover. The two men, of whom no other living people he adored more. Supposedly Hamlet held these people closest to his heart, but Horatio is the one to see how Hamlet treats his ‘closest friends’, all while being told by the prince he’s one of them. He wonders what will become of him, surely. He loves the prince, but he can’t help but consider the whole ‘cornered animal’ mentality to be a bit unreliable when he’s seen what he does to the innocent. What Hamlet himself never seems to see, always being off on some boat, or dying, but never sticking around to comprehend the consequences. That’s not his job.
Horatio is the audience. Let in to the most private thoughts, into the sympathetic tendencies of the prince, all while seeing the true and unsavoury parts that keep us from ever truly committing ourselves to the same cause. That keeps us from thinking of him as a good person, despite the fact that we love him regardless. Or maybe we don’t, but we’ve been in too deep for too long to do anything about it.
When Horatio is removed, not much changes. Hamlet loses a confidant, and maybe his mind a bit sooner, but the story still plays out. When he dies, there is no one to hold him as he goes. No one to tell his story as it truly was. Except there is, because we’ve just seen it. In that sort of way, Horatio can never really be removed, only brought offstage. But if the story is told, and if there’s a crowd to view it, Horatio will always be there, somewhere in the audience. Watching. (It’s all he can seem to do.)

Okay, so, this will be a stream-of-consciousness type post, because I am this close to starting to print screenshots and do a full murder board trying to make this make sense to someone who is not in my brain, so I'm gonna type this out, and if you're seeing this that means it worked or I just typed for too long to not post lol.
Buck, Actually. Buck, Bothered, and Bewildered. I am not the only person that desperately wants a callback, and I know I'm not the only one thinking about what this might mean for buddie. Well, I've been saying for a while now that I would try to type out something about how buddie has been planned and the answers are in Buck, Actually, and that's what I'm gonna do now, I guess.
We know Buck gets a lot of his ideas of love from Buck, Actually. Seeing Maddie and Chim in the early stages, his own quest with love while moving on from Abby, notably Mitchell and Thomas and the "you don't find it, son, you make it." Buck's quest with love now is at a point where Buck wants to be seen "I feel like she sees me" but he is still at a point where he doesn't want to actually be seen, he wants someone to see what he wants to show, but that's not what actual love is. But still, we start out Buck, Actually with Buck literally in front of a huge sign that says "See Me" (also just to add into my madness about the blue and green in other elements of the scene, love the clear divide of Eddie against the sky and Buck against the sign, and yes I know they can't change the color of the sky or the sign but shh just go with it) with Eddie right above it. Interesting scene composition I think.
Tumblr media
But talking about the actual couple here, we have Lola, who feels like her husband doesn't see her anymore after a situation where she feels like she lost herself, their kid went off to college, she has more time to herself, is struggling, and goes nuclear until Norman proves that he does in fact see her, just not in the way she was looking for, dude just wasn't aware there was a problem that needed to be addressed. I know I make everything about the cemetery scene lately, but come on. The whole thing with being seen, Buck not knowing who he is after dying, the expectation he is putting on himself about being the person he was before but he doesn't know who that is, like, come on, it's there.
Then the robbers and the two employees at the gas station, granted the robbers are a lot about Buck thinking about his own ways when it comes to sex and women considering he just had sex with Taylor in a bathroom, BUT here is when I start to go a little crazy. Because Ruth and Earl have that little moment of a relationship developing (hi blue scrunchie green cap 🫶), which we later see has developed, but Earl with his injured right shoulder is talking about how he's hurt but he was only thinking about her safety.
Tumblr media
Does that sound familiar to anyone else? Just a thought. Yes, I know I'm crazy, it's fine, it will get worse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because another thing about the episode is the whole "till death do us part" thing, with the newlyweds who crashed their car, Mitchell and Thomas dying together, and maybe even Buck having to hold Lola back so she wouldn't fall. I'll come back to this in a second, but you gotta love a nice little crush injury involving a vehicle and a focus on handholding, huh?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the thing is, Mitchell and Thomas make an impression on Buck, and Mr Self Destruct for Attention because that was the only way I was shown love as a child definitely takes the way they die together a bit too literally. Taylor being in this episode while being blatantly wrong for Buck makes an interesting point on that and the way bucktaylor evolves, because Buck gets the whole you make it, and decides he needs to kill himself to make it work, and it is what he ultimately does with Taylor, he thinks he loves her, he thinks she loves him, and he thinks that means if he doesn't give up he can move past his very obvious reservations about the relationship as a whole because "love is not supposed to be easy". But the whole thing is that Buck focuses on the wrong thing there because while Michell and Thomas died together, they had a whole life together, the point is not the death, it is the life. Yes, you need to fight to make it work, but the fight is not all you have.
Another thing about the episode is the concept of movement too, like, Lola's call on a freeway, both accidents involving a car crash of some sort, the robbery is a chase, even Buck and Taylor in the news van, Maddie talking about how slow being on the freeway is, and metaphorically too, with Madney starting to move towards something, Athena learning to deal with Michael's boyfriend. And Buck finally allowing himself to move on, and move on not going back to his old habits, sleeping with anyone for connection, but actually talking to his love interest for a change.
And we have relationships in all types of moments there, we have Buck and Taylor doomed to fail, we have Maddie and Chim in that nice early stage where you're falling in love with someone, you have Bobby and Athena and the whole when you know you know and the way Bobby proposes the next episode, we have the newlyweds, we have Ruth and Earl making the change in their relationship, we have Robber Guy and Baby Bear realizing that she's more in it than he is, we have Lola and Norman and the whole relationships take effort no matter how long you've been together, you have Mitchell and Thomas sharing a whole life.
There's also the whole layer of having the couple that shows Buck what he wants out of love be a gay couple, the way when Buck realizes Thomas is unresponsive he calls for Eddie first, because Chim and Hen are at the call, and they're not with Mitchell because Mitchell's body is there too, so like, the choice to make sure Eddie would be right next to Buck to comfort him is something.
Also, something else, the inmate who kidnaps them is also called Mitchell, and I cannot explain how I got here for the life of me. But Mitchell, Mitchell, Charlie, Charlie, Ambulance.
Tumblr media
I don't know, something about the repetition of names, the ambulance as a key piece of the scene, the bonding, the comfort, the fear, the way Mitchell and Thomas died together, and Buck and Eddie could have died together in all of those situations. And the way Buck volunteers into the danger in all of those situations, he offers to help Eddie with the grenade, he goes to get Eddie without backup while actively being shot at, he runs toward the gunfire because he thinks Eddie is in danger, so like, it's a pattern of wanting to go together.
But also, the madney of it all, because while they are clearly moving towards something, they are not ready yet, but everything is acknowledged, which honestly is my main hope, because I don't think buddie is ready yet, but I would like some acknowledgment that where they're going, yk? And with the episode title possibly being a play with the song about being in love and not showing it, not knowing what to do with it, and the next episode being called "you don't know me" who could also be referencing a song about being in love with someone who doesn't know, we could be looking at real movement happening between the two of them yk?
I don't know if this makes a lot of sense, but if you read this I love you 🫶

sometimes i'll think about how, at the start of episode four, pete offers to help porsche guess who he might have kissed at the pier the night before, and i imagine a crackfic where porsche goes on a quest to find out who it was by kissing his colleagues one by one - starting with pete of course that man was ready to sacrifice himself for the cause when porsche had questions about casual hookups later in the episode, offering himself up without hesitation
he visits them one by one; pol is confused... but intrigued, it's like one of tankhun's series! arm already knows it wasn't him but insists they check it anyway... just to be sure, right? you never know. ken says he'll break his face if he tries anything (very suspicious, porsche makes sure to highlight his name). big doesn't know whether to be angry or confused, he wasn't even there??? no he and ken didn't sneak in halfway through because of a secret crush, this isn't one of tankhun's series! tankhun asks what they're doing and if he can join but porsche isn't about to open that can of worms.
maybe at some point kinn catches on and realizes porsche doesn't remember but is rating the others based on if they kiss better or worse than the ~mystery person~, which is giving him an ego boost up until porsche declares that one of his friends is actually a better kisser and therefore can't possibly have been involved (said friend is very confused about why khun kinn is giving him death glares for the rest of the week)
you can even throw in some chan or vegas or anyone else if you want to, just go crazy with it, i think that'd be really funny especially if porsche just casually blasts vegas after they make out for a solid minute saying "no you're good but the other guy was just less desperate you feel me, sorry bro".

WHO? WHAT? WHY? SAMPO KOSKI
This is a summary/theories/rambles made by me, someone who has way too much brain rot for this character right now, hope you enjoy.
(fyi this is increadibly long)
First Black Swans companion quest, Im very much basing this entire thing on the theory that her quest plays before Belobogs main story.
First the quest plays while Sampo is no longer a mask fool in addition it's also implied that he was on Penacony for at least a while. Not only did he have a VIP pass for the Pepeshi club but the Pepeshi people also trust him. Which leads me to think that he properly got that pass at least somewhat legitimately.
Granted we know this from the interaction between Sparkle, Firefly and the Trailblazer but I still think that this is also applicable in the situation within Black Swans quest.
(also very importantly Black Swans quest is told via a Memory Bubble so knowing exactly when it happened is already nebulous at best)
If the companion quest happened after the main events of Jarilo VI. Then what happened to Sampo, that in the span of, if we’re generous, a few months leads him to leave the mask fools? Sampo seems to have very strict rules/lines/boundaries for himself so to assume that something happened in the span of a few months which leads him to lay down his mask and go to Penacony but then a new catastrophe befalls Belobog and he immediately goes back to the fools, just feels a bit flimsy to me.
Him also calling himself an old timer with the fools is important. Basically this man has seen some shit so him going back, surprising even Sparkle makes me think that he was out of the Mask fools for a while.
Also quick side note, that out of all places Giovanni could have chosen to host his event, he went with Belobog. The place he knew he could meet Sampo at. Or he at least knew that if he went there the chance of meeting him was quite high. Potentially because he could have seen the end broadcast of Sampos after the main story of Belobog or because Sampo told Sparkle at the end of Black Swans quest to “tell Giovanni I said hi”. I just find it interesting that the writers put that line here.
Anyway, the Next bit is my personal understanding/theory of Sampos timeline.
Sampo was a member of the fools for a very long time, something happened that went so against his boundaries that he left the fools. He either then immediately went to Penaconey or traveled around for a bit before going there, possibly wanting to settle down.
Sparkle arrives in Penacony for her own reasons. Finds out that Black Swans here too and wants to fuck with her a bit. So she enlists the help of her “friend” Sampo.
They make a deal that he helps her and she then gives his mask back to him. (important side note the deal with the masks isn't just that they are a sign that you follow the elation but it's literally your entry ticket to the fools and the tavern.)
The reason why she has the mask or at least knows where it is properly is because Sampo was the one who gave it to her. He initially doesn't tell her exactly why he wants the mask back. that's properly the reason why she mockingly asks if it's about Jarilo VI.
(I acknowledge that Sparkle referencing Jarilo VI makes more sense if Black Swans quest happened after Belobog but hear me out. Sampo clearly has not just knowledge of Belebog but also a huge interest and care for the planet. Maybe the other fools knew of this interest of his. Also I'm gonna talk about his knowledge of Jarilo VI and Belebog later.)
Back to the timeline, Sparkle and Sampo agree on the deal and Black Swans quest starts. Afterwards, Sampo goes to the tavern and gets his mask back. Now he is an active member again, ergo he could potentially get extra help from the fools (for example the potential care package you can find in Lynx’s companion quest that has Sampos name on it.) He arrives on the planet, if he goes first to the overworld or the underworld is anyone's guess.
But anyway, he meets Natasha and helps her and in extension  Wildfire. Then he continues like Sparkle inspired him to.
Too late to take the stage? no matter, it's a wonder what you can accomplish if you're just a side character.
The Nameless arrive on Jarilo VI a few years later
(if im not wrong around two years later)
And the main quest starts.
After that he meets Giovanni at the Aetherium wars event. They have a chat and Giovanni tells him that Sparkle is on Penacony, to which Sampo replies that he doesn't want to see her.
Why? I'm not 100% sure. Sampo is an opportunist, him meeting Sparkle helped them both but they still fundamentally disagree on a few things especially their idea of Elation.
This is my reading of his potential timeline for now. (also another side note hes definitely keeping taps on the Nameless. Simply because of the bomb you can find on the Xianzhou.)
Sampo is strange and his knowledge confuses the hell out of me
He knows a lot about Belobog but the interesting/confusing part is that as an outsider he seems to know things that most if not all locals don't know about.
For example the tunnels that he uses to travel freely between the over and underworld. Just how the hell does he know about those?
Svarog, a Robot built around 700 years ago, didn't know about them, that or he forgot they exist which seems unlikely.
If Svarog knew about them he would have sealed them off, but he didn't.
We can assume that the tunnels are not just incredibly well hidden but also safe, because Sampo carried four unconscious people through them to the underworld.
Potentially those tunnels could have been here before the war and miraculously survived both the Antimatter Legion and the Eternal Freeze. This could explain why neither Svarog knew about them, being there before his time, and for the people of Belobog being also way before there's.
We as the Players never get to see the tunnels but we can assume that they are potentially located in the layers between the over and underworld.
Then Sampo has the knowledge to repair ancient artifacts from a planet that was isolated and forgotten for multiple hundreds of years. Granted there are people especially from the underworld but also from the overworld that know how to repair them but those include Serval, a gifted mechanic who also was an Architect at one point, so someone who was constantly surrounded by those artifacts and had still surviving documents of how to work with them. Clara, also a gifted prodigy of a mechanic whose dad is Svarog, who could absolutely help her if she has questions about some of those artifacts.
Sampo is an outsider though so how did he learn how to work with or just straight up repair ancient technology?
If we now go away from his connection to Jarilo VI for a second there's just a lot of other stuff that are really interesting/confusing about him.
We can guess that Sampo is actually quite knowledgeable especially when it comes to making things. He made his smoke bombs meaning that he not only has the technical understanding of making the inner workings of a bomb but also knows how to make knockout gas that also doesn't seem to affect him.
Same with his knives. I have my theory that either he made them himself or someone made them for him. The blades are just too tailor made for his fighting style to simply be a thing he stole from somewhere.
The next few points I'm gonna get into were absolutely pointed out many times before by others but still I want to mention them too.
Also this is already incredible long so fuck it.
First, the foot prints, him not leaving any in the snow is already strange. Granted you could argue that he uses the wind ability that his path grands him to erase them the moment his feet touch the snow but it's not just snow, in Penaconey there are fountains that you can walk over and Sampo is the only one the does not create any splashes, only little ripples on the water's surface.
Second, Brughel Poisson, first I love that his entire character story is about a heist/scam he plans and acts out while playing a different character. It's a wonderful and creative way of showing us a bit more about him and it characterizes him very well.
But also I have my doubts this was just him simply putting on an incredibly good disguise and showing off how good he is at crossdressing. One scene that always stuck out to me in the character story was how incredibly sure and confident Sampo was that the guard would not see through Poisson. Even showing off her hair as in saying, look at this, this is obviously my real hair, no wig at all.
I have my theory that he could have shape shifted similar to what Sparkle does with the only difference that he did it not in a dream but in reality.
Him having extra magical abilities would not surprise me, as I said before the smoke of his bombs do not seem to have any effect on him. He is potentially able to teleport or he's just incredibly fast. If he carried Bronya, the Trailblazer, Dan Heng and March 7th all at once to Natasha then he also is a bit stronger then what I think a normal human would be able to do. And the incredibly low temperatures outside of Belobog don't seem to affect him that hard or at all.
Last point
Out of all the playable paths they could have given him they went with Nihility, the most similar path to Elation simply because Aha and XI agree on one thing and that is that the world and all its life is meaningless.
It would be fascinating if Sampo first was on the path of Elation and then later switched to Nhility or that he always was on the path of Nihility because of something he went through in his backstory and then found kinship with the fools.
There's so much potential for his story and his character and I really hope the writers of HSR have a plan for where they want to take him.

screw it. midoyuzu sdv au (very long bullet point post warning in advance)
midori inherits his late grandpa's farm. parents' greengrocers shop in the city used to get a good chunk of their crops from there til his passing and the farm was since abandoned
kanata is definitely handling the fishing shop. though he spends more time in the water puka pukaing than actually fishing and manning the store but its fine she manages somehow. when midori gets the fishing rod kanata just straight up pops outta to water to give him the rod and floats away 👍 souma helps out there also
chiaki owns the saloon and bartends even if he does Not drink himself and the only thing that ever plays on tv are tokusatsu shows
as for the others i havent thought abt as much and subject to change. kuro blacksmith with his apprentice tetora maybe . nagisa the museum and library curator (and by extension i think itd be really funny if ibara was a joja executive. mostly to keep an eye on nagisa but also keeping the yzib hostility). eichi is the mayor though keito his vice mayor does most of everything and his boyfriend wataru organizes the town events and such like the valley fair etc!! natsume is the forest wizard w his apprentice sora and tsumugi comes by weekly in that traveling cart thing. madara owns the ranch probably.
everybody else is probably just normal townsfolk, among others hajime and hinata take care of the towns plants n stuff!! tatsumi priest, mayoi is half shadow person and hangs out in the sewer (of which noritama at some point explore together and shinobu befriends and invites to visit the surface). i said i didnt think about this much but thats a lie at this point. mika stays in an atelier in the forest (owned by shu whos in the city but does visit on occassion) to cultivate his own art, still best buds with arashi. jun koga adonis and maybe hiiro part of the adventurers guild, trick5tar are their own lil band!!
some charas r not present most of the time or yet like tori who is off at uni w his longtime academic rival and childhood friend and also now roommate tsukasa. their presence is very important for later trust me. rich family rivalry still remains here (along with military camp Because)
due to tori being at uni and learning independence yuzuru is off of his usual butler work for a while and working in the general store owned by the himemiyas! partly to pass the time partly encouraged to find something new to do outside of his servant duties. he calls and nags at tori regularly to make sure hes fine and such
the request board outside of the store is always a good source for side jobs and one day a request for foraged spring onions is pinned up with a terrifying drawing scribbled on it. midoris head over heels Immediately and she already has a good amount to spare so why not take it
hes probably a week into living in the valley already? while yuzuru had just started working over at the store therefore she wasnt aware of this yuzuru fushimi and finds the very one while looking for who put up the request!! the master artist + fan dynamic goes from then on
other than the usual chitchats and more requests with encouraged atrocious drawings accompanying them, been thinking a good amount of the specific town events that happen through the year!! other misc things are various quests and errands from each of the characters, like helping mika gather cloth or hajime requesting various flowers to brighten up the town
Y1 Spring: egg festival, noritama hanging out, shinobu sweeping the egg hunt; flower dance , as they havent gotten to know each other to well enough to actually dance (just like in the game) (haley please. anyways) its mostly just small talk and maybe including some other side pairings i like djdhhfjdj chiaki with a suspiciously soaked kanata and hina dragging off tetsu
Y1 Summer: acquiring the rusty key from nagisa, noritama sewer exploration and befriending mayoi; luau, nothing special particularly for this one; dance of the moonlight jellies, from here yuzuru and midori get a lot closer playing in the sand and just getting along (a bit like siosai marina)!! probably some background drop for the both of them like takamine gramps' farm and yuzurus actual role as a butler while telling him about tori as well dkhdhdjs. they spot the rare green jellyfish together here too
Y1 Autumn (yeah im calling it autumn sue me): valley fair commences, led by everyones own wataru whos hopping here and there somehow managing three attractions at once. yuzuru obliterates the shooting game; spirits eve, chiaki is desperately being clingy out of fear. just more shenanigans in this one
Y1 Winter: festival of ice!! i kinda want to recreate the snow bunny/cute critter scene in jingle bells here, while the fishing contest isnt even a contest at all except between souma and kanata; feast of the winter star ill probably keep somewhat similar to that in the recent luck fest campaign gift exchange!! midori -> hajime and yuzuru -> kanata at the very least. just good vibes all around. community centre would also be finished by then so while joja closes, ibara ends up assisting at the museum w nagisa instead jshshdh
Y2 Spring: only thing of note is that This flower dance they do get to dance together!! 👍 had to get those hearts up beforehand sjhdhdjshd midori at this point fully realized he really does like yuzuru, but kind of the calm before the summer storms
Y2 Summer: gets a bit (a lot) more complicated from here. yuzuru receives word from tori that he'll be visiting from midsummer til the beginning of autumn, and coincidentally tsukasa is tagging along to meet up with his pen pal and friend sora!! bickering the entire way there and due to circumstances yuzurus hosting tsukasa as well in the end, having to share toris room with him aksjdhjwjs
tori gets introduced to midori. the famed young master of midoris crush and this random farmer boy tori had heard so much about for some reason. midoris rather intimidated in the end but it ends up not Horribly to say the least. didnt quite help how tori had noticed how yuzuru softened up even just a bit when interacting with him. sora as well finally meets tsukasa and "the torikun he's heard so much about through tsukasas letters" 🎉 toris awfully smug and tsukasa tries to salvage it saying he was badmouthing him the whole time (not completely a lie but definitely not completely the truth either. dork)
with toris arrival inevitably comes yuzurus duties as a butler, its plain to see his priorities and out of consideration midori backs off a bit. she thought he'd only have to keep his distance until tori's gone back but little did she know toris main reason for coming not only was to assess how yuzurus faring (well and to meet eichi again) but had planned on bringing yuzuru back with him too to which yuzuru of course though not without feeling a tinge of pain for a reason unknown to him agrees to it
midori hears this from tsukasa, how he didnt think yuzuru would stay in town for much longer. and of course midori ended up pretty devastated at the news but who is he to stop yuzuru from leaving? in the end yuzuru would all but abandon his duties, and after all that same diligence and devotion is what midori had fallen for in the first place. if this short year really is all he'd get to spend with him then at the very least she'll have to make the most of what time they have left
the moonlight jellies come around again, probably one of the last times they both thought they'd be able to spend together and went off with just the two of them. a bit of an awkward air around them, yuzuru comments on how toris been complaining about the sand and other attempts at casual small talk as usual but its painfully obvious theres still that tense atmosphere
midori finally asks if yuzurus really leaving after all, to which she got a yes. midori simply nods and had long since accepted that inevitability, and already resolved that when the time comes to put an end to his feelings and get rejected properly. and so he confesses, and while saying she didnt need yuzuru to give him any proper answer in return, all yuzuru could really say was an "i'm sorry" while finally realizing what that awful ache that has been eating at him the entire time was. even if he did realize he felt the same, no matter how much he wanted to say it back theyve both resigned to the fact that its not something that could or would really ever happen between them
once the jellies have all left, their parting was pretty awkward, with that one goodbye feeling a lot like their last. tori notices something off about yuzuru and that something had probably happened between them, but didnt pay it much thought until a while later
yuzurus made more mistakes than whats normal, miscategorizing the stock or putting salt in his coffee, tori and tsukasa are both shocked and tried to pry it out of him but hes a brick wall that wont budge even a bit. it was only when midori came around for his usual errands and groceries that tori could note how distant and awkward theyre both being and that slight bit of hurt behind yuzurus all perfect mask
after much uncomfortable tension and quietly longing gazes enough is enough amd tori eventually confronts him, that while he did say yuzuru could come back to the city asks him if thats really what he wanted. and of course, all hes ever wanted or rather, knew how to want was to be able to serve tori to the best of his ability and really theres no other reason to stay anyways. even more frustrated now tori brings up midori, if he really wont regret leaving things like that when theyll surely drift apart to the point of no return if he keeps it up
argues that whatever was between him and midori has nothing to do with it!! tori is Mad and says if yuzuru is hiding behind his role to run away from the depths of his own feelings hes being a freaking idiot. eventually tori calms down and while he did want yuzuru to come, never wanted him to tear himself apart so much and that he didnt need to sacrifice his desires or getting close to anyone else for his sake, and how before being a servant yuzuru is his family as well and he just wants him to be happy too. then asks one last time if leaving the valley really what he wanted
yuzuru finally thinks it over again and apologizes first. for letting himself get so caught up and carried away for even daring to get close to someone else (tori glares daggers at him. he stops) and affirms that while he did wish to stay, theres still nothing more important to him than tori and his wellbeing and even should he open up and find more people in his life its not gonna change that fact
toris finally satisfied, reminding him again that even if he were to run off to be with some farmer boy hed still be his butler and that he wishes them the best. then proceeds to grab the bouquet from over the counter, shove it into yuzurus hands and lock him out of the store until he has a proper talk with midori. yuzuru tries to argue but it all goes one ear and out the other with tori he is Not gonna let him back inside until then
eventually gives in and goes looking for midori. he asks all around town and seems to just miss him each time, til eventually it starts pouring and into a pretty hard rain. at this point all he could rly focus on though was wanting to see him so pushes on until running into her taking shelter in the forest. yuzuru is Soaked and disheveled and with the wind and rain the bouquet is stripped down to only a few of its flowers left but he does not care at this point
midori is understandably shocked and tries to dry him off with what he had, lending her jacket and asking what he was doing out in the rain like that. well with yuzuru only being able to think about wanting to meet him had completely ignored the rain and brushes it off saying there was something more important he wanted to say
even knowing that he'd (somewhat) rejected midori before, asks if he could give him a proper response this time if midori would give him another chance. she agrees, yuzuru lets him know he wont be going back to the city after all to midoris surprise. goes on that before he knew it midori had become important to him as well and that he truly does adore him, and if his feelings havent changed would like to court him properly. midoris just processing the entire thing before crying. never thought his feelings would be reciprocated and between sobs hugs him. rain clears up, a nice rainbow arches over and while midori accepts what was left of the bouquet they almost had a moment until yuzuru starts sneezing. cue them running back to the store before he gets sick
while yuzurus taking care of himself it leaves midori and tori in the store together. tori gives her a bit of a shovel talk and if he dared do anything to hurt yuzuru he could have his entire farm shut down. and asks to take care of yuzuru for him too. they do talk a bit and end up getting to know each other a bit more before tori and tsukasas impending departure
once midori leaves, tsukasa, having seen the whole conversation, asks tori if hes really okay with it and while tori cant say hes absolutely happy is glad someone cherishes yuzuru just as much. and even if he is a bit lonely will always have tsukasa anyways half as a tease and half being genuine
Y2 Autumn: tori and tsukasa leave the valley, promising to come back next year!! theres a lot more ive planned out from this point out but i am keeping it to myself for now. or maybe forever it depends 👍 my apologies if youve read this far you deserve a medal thank you for listening to my silly rambling 🏅
theres some other things like mini chara arcs/episodes and such (or stuff like specific "heart events" of a sort) i thought abt but among them is tatsumi and mayoi meeting and [omitted] or tetoras apprenticeship under kuro, or shus visit to observe mikas progress and [omitted], and specifically a certain trks episode also

just went back to watching community again and I cant-
so this time it's about 'Regional Holiday Music' 3x10,, and adhagsjjsb it's so fucking good because in a manner it sort of addresses all the wants of the characters right? because to convince them to join the Glee club they need to be incentivised and the incentive in this case is what's so interesting to me:
because 1. it starts with Abed and we all know Abed and how he's all he wants is to be together and loved and he chases the belongingness that he didn't find before in the study group right? but also literally the only thing that cory had to do to get him on board was talk about making him and his friends feel better and be together,,, but also it's literally because media of any kind be it behind the screens or people singing is so much simpler for him to understand cause they are catered and made in such a way that they are easy to perceive and take in without it being more complicated and involving other people's feelings in it
which is Great on its own but the second person to get 'caught' is Troy (because obv Troy will follow Abed wherever he goes, because even when he can't follow he'll wait for Abed to come back to him and tell him about his side quests or just be there for him, but I digress-) but also it's because there's this one thing he's always wanted to be a part of and could never but then comes Abed giving it to him on a silver platter and letting him do the things he wants even if it is by providing him with a loophole
and then third is pierce who even though I loathe him, i do understand (ish) because at the end of the day he's a man out of time and place, he's within people he doesn't understand and who don't want to understand him because all he wants to do is relive his glory days instead of rooting himself in the present (which in large part the study group help him with) (he'll never be my favourite character or even a liked one but I see him and I feel sad because of what he is and always will be and the way he came to be this way) all he ultimately wants is to be 'cool' maong his peers even though both of them operate on different understandings of cool (and yeahhhh)
fourth is Annie which, is very very weird to me because we never really get to know what her song was, what her one wish/incentive was,,, but also is it really that hard to assume that she would cave in when confronted by one of the first few people that she could safely feel as if in the company of friends with? also and this is a straight up hypothesis but I do feel that Annie didn't really get a song to convince her because it wasn't that hard to do it because it didn't really matter because at the end of the day it started with Abed telling her that he stayed for that experiment despite being angry because she was his friend,, and this was her way if reciprocating that (because it was just that given, be ause some things don't need to be explicitly stated to be explicit) (but then why did troy have one? because he was technically going against his entire belief system and the way he identified and looked at himself and that is life changing in some manners and he was still the second one and yeah)... maybe
the fifth one was Shirley and this one is rather simpler because at the end of the day, she traces and finds herself within her belief system rooted in Christianity (which while not for mez i can understand the way belief systems can be very all or nothing for some people) and she just wanted to educate and empower children and people with things that she herself feels empowered by (she goes about it entirely the wrong way ofc because forcing religion on others is never an answer but I don't think nad never have that she's coming at it from a malicious position or intention
then we have jeff and like Annie it's very curious that he doesn't get something that he wishes to incentivise him (at least that's the way I understand that episode) instead, we get to see what Annie and further the audience thinks or is supposed to think about Jeff. He's still that impenetrable (hehehe) person that no-one can actually understand because yes he's an asshole but he's constructed in a very stereotypic asshole kind of way so that's all we get to see from him at that point in time (that's all we're supposed to perceive him as which is why unlike others he never joins in on the song) instead all we get is that he also succumbed somehow. but we're never told what made him submit and give in,, we're always made to look at him from a distance (at least till that point in time and show trajectory) and he might be the main centre of the show (ish arguably more around Abed but plot more centered around him (also I'm very very biased cause I deeply resonate with Abed)) and yeah
and then Britta who again doesn't get a song at all because,, and again throwing arrows in the dark here,,, ofc she has a bad voice and narrative voice isn't really imp to Cory and his performance but also because much like Jeff, there's an induced sense of distance, wherein she technically is supposed to be the main female protag at that point (at least that's the intention it seems to have started with) but in many manners, she's reduced to just that, they make her dumb and so unlike the other main heroines (and I will never not be angry with the way they changed her character post season 1) that at the end of the day that's all she ends up being (again till that point in the show's trajectory)
and yeah ,, and then then at the end of everything, Abed gives up on what he wanted for the group as a whole because he realises that this is not actually happiness that it's creating in everyone, because it's forcing them into roles that they've been tricked into and that's never what he wanted,,, yes he wants them to be together but not at the cost of the happiness of even one of them or all of them and yeah
also anyone that says community is just a silly little show, it is. But it's also so much more because the way it talks about created families and families of choice and being an outsider and trying to find belongingness,,, and in the end finding a place that lets you be the trainwreck that you are and helps you embrace it, is insane and great. And I love the way community as a whole does all of that while feeling so organic and experimental but also insightful and a well thought out piece of media with actual things to say and yeah
(also very unconnected to anything I've just said but I truly despise Shirley's song with everything in me,, I'd ironically and unironically listen to all of the rest of the songs in this episode but not that one (yes including whatever was going on with that Annie mean girls esque but make it worse and yeah)(they are bops honestly 🤷‍♀️)
i will go now but yeah I love community (also also last thing but this is the only way that I'll ever be able to fully digest random musicals in any show because community just does it better, I said what I said.)

My brain is FULL of TH fic ideas but I've already got 3 WIP and most of them are just "what if"s with no plot so I'll just post them here I guess and maybe some writing god hears me/ reads them and someone else actually uses them.
Here's Nr. 1:
Frerin did in fact NOT die at Azanulbizar but was transported into our modern world, sometime in the second half of the 19th century.
After some adjusting (industrialization is in full force but it's still not as 'bad' as it would be rn) he builds a life, him being a dwarf meaning that he ages extremely slowly compared to us lowly humans so he has to move after a while and again and again.
He lives in the UK, US, France, Germany, Italy, Finland.....
He fights in both world wars depending on where he lives during that time (WW1 on the German side, WW2 on the UK's), other than that he goes to university and works all kinds of jobs like policeman, fireman, soldier, teacher, carpenter, smith, weaver, factory worker, violinist etc etc etc
Around 1900 he meets this fella J R R Tolkien and befriends him, and after a time finds out that his friend is writing books about middle Earth, not only that, but one about his very own brother. Tolkien apparently is a seer of some kind because it's still almost a century until "The Hobbit" would happen (he does the math).
Frerin helps Tolkien with authenticity for his books, because the dude is smart and found out about Frerin after he corrected his Khuzdul one time too many.
Anyhow, after reading what will happen to his family, he becomes a mite bit obsessed with returning to Middle Earth and having ammased quite some wealth and with the help of some friends in high places starts founding various research projects into things like teleportation, multiverse, magic, alchemy, you name it. He also becomes a member of the Freemasons due to his occult knowledge.
In around 80 years there's almost no progress towards Frerin's goal of returning home, he does still have a research company but only a small group of mostly students works on the multiverse hypothesis, the rest does all kinds of stuff, technology, energy, whatever.
He has for the time being settled somewhere in Scandinavia, is a College Professor for Sociology and Political Science and volunteers as a social worker for troubled children.
He is fostering 2 or 3 children himself (ages 6 - 16) and has two grown up adopted children that still live & work with him (they found out about him), a guy & a lass ( both early twenties).
Somehow (don't ask I don't know) the whole household (meaning Frerin, his two young adult children, the foster children, his south American householder, her tiny dog and their personal Butler (more of a live-in family friend by now, think Niles from "The Nanny")) all get sucked into a portal or whatever end get spit out into Middle Earth.
Not at Ered Luin of course, that would be easy, no, but somewhere extremely inconvenient. The Lone lands, the Brown lands, Moria, something along the lines of "we are so fucked".
So now it is a few years (1-3, or the characters have too much time to become Mary-Sues), before the quest to Erebor, and they have to reach Thorin before then and somehow survive a world filled with orcs (and elves!) while juggling a 6 year old, a tiny & barky dog, a cliché Mamacita, a British butler, and Frerin's realisation that he has gotten much too used to modern convenience.
(my weak ass would probably include some romance between one/more than one of the original characters and the canon characters, I'm a sucker for Fili or Kili x OFC and rare pairings like KilixBifur or ThorinxNori and I want Frerin to date an elf or Bard I think.)
.... Does this sound like something you would read/write? I'd maybe try to write this with someone else, alone I don't dare to. What do y'all think?

Erasing Him by scarlettletterr

When Derek was 15, he thought he met his soulmate. But then, she burned his family. When Stiles was 8, he met his soulmate. But he wanted nothing to do with him.

a study on cat's behavior by peachicicle
(2/2 I 3,408 I Explicit)
“Hey Derek,” He snapped out of his trance, “Do you like cats?”
“What?” It seemed like Stiles kept catching him by surprise most of the time these days.
“Do you like cats?” Stiles said while slowly raising his hand up to the bookshelf, picked one out and inched the book out of its place, then dropped it on the floor.
Derek gawked at him, mouth dropped in silence.
Stiles kept staring at him and dropped another book, and another, and another, getting closer to the much rarer book section of the bookshelf.

Stiles goes out of his way to tell Derek that he like him.
as the skyline splits in two by dumpac
(1/1 I 6,142 I Teen)
The whole school, Stiles included, is just waiting for Scott and Derek Hale to act on their unresolved sexual tension, because of course the sweetest omega and the most handsome alpha of Beacon Hills would get together. And Stiles swears he wants to support his best friend the best he can. So what if he has a crush as big as Jupiter on Derek Hale?
Navigating This Space Between Us by Omni
(1/1 I 9,641 I Explicit)
Derek gets forced to watch some sci-fi show about a surly, secret prince and the sarcastic young spaceship captain hired to aid him on his quest. Strangely enough, he finds himself hooked on it. So much so that he's even drawn into the fandom. There he meets a popular fanfic author with an oddly endearing attitude, and he gets rather smitten. Maybe this mystery guy could actually help get him to stop pining for Stiles...
The One with the Stolen Hat by nerdfightingwhovian
(14/? I 50,964 I Explicit)
In high school, Stiles stole Derek's hat and everyone who hears the story of Stiles stealing Derek's favorite (and only) hat begins to ship it. Luckily, Stiles never found out about the ridiculous number of people who ship it. Except, one day he does and he confronts Derek about it.
That is where the story begins, the cat is out of the bag and Stiles, the curious person he is, wants to know how it started. So now, Derek has to tell him.
Except, what starts out as Derek and Stiles laughing over ridiculous stories about stolen hats and glittery campaign cards becomes something more.
Season of the Witch by gryffindor17
(22/22 I 95,013 I Explicit)
“I just want to feel whole again.” Stiles said weakly, turning his head to look searchingly to Derek. “I’ve got all this…guilt…this pain…and it feels like it’s a part of who I am now. This…constant ache. I just wish there was a way to get rid of it.”
Stiles watched as something flickered to life in Derek’s eyes, and suddenly he was off like a rocket.
*
After the Nogitsune's been killed, Stiles still finds himself haunted by what it had done with his body. Try as they might, The Pack can't seem to console their friend... That is until Stiles mentions something that jogs Derek's memory and he takes off to find a friend from the past who he thinks can salvage Stiles's mind. After all, she'd done it for him.
And if she happens to become a part of the pack while she's at it, well, no one's really complaining.

Can't let you know he's a puppet | P2
*Scaramouche x reader*
Summary: Scaramouche/Wanderer is injured seriously after a mission but refuses to let you help him because the last thing he wants is to let you find out he's heartless puppet.
Note: This happened after Sumeru archon quest, so no one remember "Scaramouche" as a villain who tried to rule over Sumeru anymore. But I still use the name Scaramouche because it feels more familiar for me. And I'm not a English native speaker so I'm really sorry (in advance) for any grammar or spelling mistakes.
Part 1 | Part 2 (end)
You are overreacting
Clenching your fist, the sudden spurt of unnamed emotion rises in you while you stand still in front of the shutting door. You weren't even given a chance to respond or explain yourself. The words that he threw at you, the troubled expression on his face that you saw right before the door was shut replay in your mind like a record.
You are overreacting
What if I really am overreacting? Gods know how desperately you want to excuse your behaviors by saying it's because you were worried about him. But deeply, you know that you have crossed the line.
You claim to be his friend and as you can remember, Scaramouche has never once corrected you when you referred to yourself as "his friend" or "his companion". He is never the nicest or sweetest person, in fact, people are more likely to consider him rude and mean because of his cruel words. However, it's never something that bothers you. Scaramouche might say mean things and be stubborn but you know that is just his way to word it because, despite all the impolite things he had said to you, he protects you, listens to you, and goes along with whatever you want.
Maybe this is why you started to think that if you keep on pleading with him a bit longer he will definitely give in and let you take care of him. The moment Scaramouche looked at you in annoyance, you knew you fucked up this time.
When you are lost in your thoughts, Scaramouche, on the other side of the door, wonders why you haven't left yet. It would be a lie if he said he didn't feel happy seeing you concerned about him. It would be a worse lie if he said he felt just fine after shutting the door right in your face. It must be so much better if you just leave already.
That's a lie obviously. He wants you to stay even when he told you to leave.
He hears the sound of footsteps, smaller and smaller then fade away. Scaramouche assumes you run out of patience for him.
Well, nothing new, he really screwed up here. He wishes he could just admit to you that he is a puppet.
After a while when he finished treating his wound, he hesitantly opens the door just to see no one. He sighs defeatedly.
"Fuck you Scara!"
Your loud yet pleasant voice successfully catches him off guard. You use all your muscle strength to push him back into his hostel then pin him down to the floor. You intertwine your fingers with his, and stare directly into him, leaving Scaramouche speechless.
He intends to say something but looking at your face, he stops himself.
Your eyes are now leaking acid rain.
"Sorry" You say quietly.
"After you knocked me out onto the floor?" He didn't mean anything rude this time, he said it in a rather impressive tone. You look hot, Scaramouche thinks.
"Yes, this is the only way I can think of. I'm sorry for forcing you to do what you don't want to. I don't want to excuse my unthoughtful and careless behaviors but I swear I mean no harm!!! And by the way, I bought some food and medicine in case you need them." The more you speak the louder you cry. Scaramouche can tell you're trying your best to muffle your hiccups. He doesn't dare to look away from your watery eyes while feeling your hot tears fall on his cold, lifeless puppet skin.
Do you notice how abnormally cold he is? He questions as he tightens your hands. Because of surreal moments like this, he gets more uncertain about how to tell you the truth about his identity.
Right now, Scaramouche feels a sense of panic, he doesn't know what to do or say. He has never comforted anyone, he wasn't as well taught to say sweet and kind things to people.
"Okay okay, it's okay. I get it so stop, your tears will make my clothes dirty." It doesn't work, you still cry uncontrollably.
Scaramouche hesitates for a moment.
"It's not your fault." he says, avoiding your gaze.
"I should not have said those things." He trails off in embarrassment and guilt, a catch in his throat.
"Sorry" he mouths.
His eyes meet yours. Scaramouche quickly turns his head away.
"Scara" You softly whisper.
"W-what?" He responds
"You're blushing"
"What?! A-are you blind? What a pity that now your stupid head becomes delusional"
"You're still blushing Scara"
"Fuck you y/n" He says out of frustration.

A Daiken Evil!Boyfriends/Soulmates AU I'll Probably Never Write
because it’s kind of too much is: an AU universe where soulmates exist and everyone knows they exist but either it’s really rare to meet your soulmate or only a small percentage of the population has them.
Ken and Davis are soulmates and when they shake hands during their soccer match they realize it. Later that day, Davis finds out Ken is the Digimon Emperor and confides in Tai because he looks up to him and doesn’t know what to do and needs advice - being soulmates makes him hesitate to tell the others openly who Ken is because there is a general belief amongst the population that soulmates are a perfect match for one another and he’s worried about what the other’s will think of him if his soulmate is a bad person.
Meanwhile, Ken is mad after the soccer match because how can someone who isn’t perfect like him be his soulmate? Davis clearly isn’t good enough for him but because it’s Ken, he very quickly convinces himself that he can change Davis by infecting him with a dark spore (because Ken is aware of the one in his neck and has been studying it for awhile) and make him better until he’s up to Ken’s absurd standards which leads to:
Ken offering Davis the opportunity to join him in his quest to conquer the Digital World when he realizes who Ken is and Davis agreeing to do it days later at the insistence of Tai (and reluctantly, Izzy, because they're BFFs/Boyfriends?) who think they can use this situation to their advantage and defeat Ken who has been thwarting them for maybe years at this point; it's an aged up AU and Ken's identity is secret longer.
Davis ends up convincing Ken that he wants to join him because his family and the other Digi-Destined don’t respect/care about him and Ken is his soulmates so that means if any one will, it’s Ken. I like to think Tai stages some kind of fight between them in the Digital World, probably about how his soulmate is evil and that make Davis a bad person, that Ken witnesses to make it more convincing but no one else besides Tai, Izzy and Davis are aware that the fight is staged so everyone else thinks Tai really thinks Davis is untrustworthy and Davis really has betrayed them when he joins the Emperor.
Tai and Izzy basically send Davis to get inside information to help them defeat Ken and he is supposed to report back to them about the Emperor’s activities to give them an advantage - to do this Davis insists he wants to continue school and living in the real world - but Ken doesn’t immediately trust Davis because of his lack of commitment after he joins him so Davis doesn’t know much at first and also Davis says he isn’t going to help Ken conquer the Digital World - he doesn’t want to hurt Digimon or the other Digi-Destined even if they all hate him and he openly tells Ken he only wants to help Ken because they’re soulmates which Ken laughs at.
Ken, thinking he’ll manipulate Davis until he’s on his side for real, tells him that’s fine and that he’ll come around. Meanwhile he makes it clear he thinks Davis is useless to him the way he is and Davis needs to be better to be worthy of being Ken’s soulmate and to do that Ken comes up with a series of training exercises to “help” Davis be better.
Davis is really stubborn and knows Ken isn’t convinced of his loyalty to him and, because he looks up to Tai so much and wants his respect and approval via doing what Tai wants him to do (and also he really wants to find a way to stop Ken and stop him being evil and thinks this is the best way to do it) Davis pushes himself to meet all of Ken’s absurd standards and challenges which basically amount to torture for a normal person without a spore.
This leads to a period of many many months where Davis goes to the Digital World after school every day to meet Ken, is basically put through the ringer until eventually his health starts to decline visibly because he’s trying to do things he physically can’t do and studying all the time to be smarter for Ken to the point where Tai and Izzy are like “this was a bad idea” and Ken, meanwhile is angrier and angrier that Davis is so bad by his estimates but also because of the spore he also thinks watching Davis struggle impossibly is really really funny so he keeps making everything harder and harder for Davis - moving the goalpost whenever Davis actually manages to meet one of his absurd goals naturally - while he works on a way to spread the spore to Davis which he eventually manages to do.
Davis has been giving Tai and Izzy info in secret when he can but suddenly drops off the face of the earth when Ken infects him with a dark spore. The spore has the desired effect from Ken’s perspective and Davis becomes able to match Ken intellectually and physically and is more willing to help Ken by conquering areas in the digital world and fighting the other digi-destined in earnest who, thanks to the spore, he’s started to think of as inferior to himself and Ken.
Only it’s Davis and he’d been very serious about his goal of gaining Ken’s trust in order to save the Digital World and save Ken/stop him being evil before being infected with the spore so now that he knows about the spore he immediately comes to the conclusion that it’s responsible for Ken’s behavior and is aware that it’s not only made him smarter and stronger/more athletic - which is useful - but is also making him think thoughts he wouldn’t normally think and unlike Ken who is completely oblivious to how he’s changed as a person by it, Davis is at least aware of how it has affected him.
Quite a bit of the fic I’d want to write would just be Davis’ struggle with fighting the influence of the spore trying to change him completely while trying to figure out how best to go about freeing Ken and dealing with his growing feelings towards him and how all of this is perceived and effects the other Digi-Destined who do or don’t know that what is going on.
Little scenes I thought about writing were things like: Davis shows up after having gone completely off-grid for a few days/weeks while the spore took hold and it’s the first time any of the other kids have seen him besides once when he fought them in the Digital World for Ken (without holding back for once) and he’s just genuinely nasty towards T.K. who he has never gotten along with at this point and he gets into an actual fight with Matt who jumps to T.K.’s defense but easily wins having learned how to fight from Ken over the last few months.
Tai corners him at some point to be like “what was that? What did Ken do to you? You’re not acting like yourself” while Davis laughs off Tai’s concerns before becoming angry because, isn’t this what Tai wanted?, at which point Izzy has to stop Tai from fighting with Davis, because this was Tai’s idea to not tell the other’s that Davis wasn’t really on Ken’s side and Ken clearly trusts Davis which means Davis is now in a position to do what they wanted even if things hadn’t gone how Tai imagined they would.
Matt is absolutely livid when he learns that everything that has happened was some hair-brained scheme of Tai’s that has gone off the rails and resulted in Davis going from the honest, well-meaning, happy-go-lucky kid they’d known to being depressed and angry and manipulative because Tai had unintentionally or otherwise made him feel like he would be letting everyone down if he didn’t use his position as Ken’s soulmate to their benefit. Matt, bearer of the crest of Friendship, never would have allowed them to go through with such a stupid and dangerous plan that has obviously hurt one of their friends and this causes a brief rift between Tai and Matt.
Because of the spores influence, Davis doesn’t really consider what has happened to him both before he was infected and after to have hurt him in anyway - Ken was just trying to make him better and now he is - and he doesn’t really care about why everyone is upset on his behalf but, unlike Ken, he’s self-aware in regards to the spore so he knows he probably should and would have cared before all this.
All he wants to do is save Ken now, though. He’s gone over Ken’s research on the spore and it’s clear the spore is growing and is dangerous and if it continues it might kill Ken (and now him) and Davis doesn’t know how to stop it yet but he still thinks the best thing to do is to make Ken see sense about the Digital World being real and not just a game Ken is playing.
I’ve thought about a lot of little scenes between Ken and Davis where Davis tries to understand Ken better and slowly learns that Ken isn’t actually as awful as he pretends/appears to be and then comes to the conclusion that the spore is responsible - maybe he stumbles across Ken’s research on it before he even understands what the spore does or is.
I haven’t mentioned any of the digimon in this yet but they’re there and Veemon obviously goes with Davis when he joins the Emperor and is in on their plan to gain Ken’s trust to ultimately win against him via getting inside info on Ken’s actions and the location of the base and all that good stuff that would obviously eventually happen. I like to think that while things are going really badly initially after Davis first joins Ken and is basically being put through torture Veemon does his best to help and encourage him or, alternatively, convince Davis he doesn’t have to do this and they should call the whole thing off.
Wormmon is also there a lot and becomes friends with Davis and Veemon. Wormmon tells Davis about how Ken used to be a kind and gentle person but changed and Wormmon still believes Ken will go back to the way he was before which is something Davis takes to heart and holds onto.
Wormmon tries to make Davis feel better when things are going particularly bad between himself and Ken or after Ken has put Davis through hell “training” him and Davis tells Wormmon he’s going to save Ken no matter what and they agree to work together for Ken’s benefit.
I have some thoughts about, like, if/when they manage to make Ken see sense and he’s freed from the spore’s influence.
The dub is really unclear but there are some parts of it that imply that once the spore goes dormant it’s effects end and Ken becomes a normal kid - no longer understanding how the control spires work, failing all his school tests etc etc - but there are also scenes where it’s like “actually he’s still a genius” - so it’s kinda up in the air and even though it is probably the former bit I like to think that the effects are permanent, so even when the spores are no longer active, Davis and Ken are still a couple of genius soulmates which would be really fun and useful for them but there would be a lot of trauma processing necessary for everyone involved.
Once Davis is able to think clearly he’d be aware of exactly how bad things had been and how different he was towards everyone as a result but Davis would put it on himself that it happened in the first place instead of blaming Ken or Tai the way that Ken and Tai definitely would blame themselves - although during the height of necessity when Ken was still evil Tai would be willing to put his own culpability on the back burner because they needed this to work or it would all be for nothing but he’d feel immensely guilty afterwards.
Ken would definitely be miserable every time Davis did or said something he wouldn’t have done or said before Ken had infected him with the spore or tried to make him better and Davis would eventually get fed up at everyone because this was how things were now and Ken and Tai and everyone needed to just accept that it happened and move on and focus on making things better for themselves and the Digital World.
The majority of the fic is quite dark and is based on things I felt were obvious in the dub, like Davis having really low self-esteem / self-worth and seeming to think of himself as undeserving of having friends or as not being a very good friend and that leads to this desire to please the people he looks up to and gain their approval - often to his own detriment.
The fic started out as just a Daiken soulmates AU about Davis dealing with the knowledge that Ken might be evil and just spiraled out of control and became this slow decent into the murky waters of depression for Davis as he tries to meet the unreasonably high expectations of a soulmate who doesn’t think he’s good enough and a senior that he looks up to who has good intentions but inadvertently puts Davis into a situation that leads to physical and emotional trauma and Davis putting up with it because he doesn’t want to let Tai down and this might really be their best chance to help Ken who Davis refuses to believe is pure evil.
And then the dark spore comes into play and for a bit it becomes a fun evil genius boyfriends AU where Davis’ maintains that he wants to help Tai stop Ken but because of the spore his words and actions are often not in line with his goal of saving Ken or helping his fellow Digi-Destined and eventually when he pulls a miracle out of his hat as he tends to do, and manages to free Ken everything should go back to normal, only it doesn’t because he’s unintentionally alienated his friends and the ones who knew what was really going on have difficulty adjusting to the changes in Davis after everything that’s happened so for a bit he’s achieved his goal but he’s still depressed.
The ending of the fic is overwhelmingly positive, though, because it’s about Davis dealing with everything he did under the spore's influence and everything that was done to him and the reasons he felt like he didn't have another choice and had to go through with things that weren’t good for him and then, eventually, repairing his relationships with Ken and Tai and the other (mainly) 02 Digi-Destined and them all dealing with and processing everything that has happened in the past, like, six+ months and learning to love and care about one another in spite of it all - it’s just really dark until the end of it.
It’s a very cathartic fic for me to think about but the majority of it being dark and depressing is why I haven’t/won’t be writing it because it’s an emotional mess and I wouldn’t even know where to begin but I woke up thinking about it and I thought, I just want to get this all out somewhere so here it is.
Also it's not the focus of this fic but Davis is trans and his parents are based on the few scenes of them in the dub that due to cultural differences unintentionally paints them as kind of flaky and, in the case of Davis' dad especially as a contributor to Davis' low self-esteem issues so they're not super bothered or observant when it comes to Davis' emotional state and probably don't notice or care that he disappears for days on end.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?
6
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
53,612
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Dragon Age. I have one fic that's a South Park fic that was a gift fic for someone else. It's an episode of South Park where Randy thinks he's a witcher and goes by Randalt.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
A thousand years or more, if not for this - SMUT PERFORMS SO WELL!
The sky sang out your name to me - Post-trespasser Solavellan hell
Heart of Glass - Dalish OC/OC story starts before events of Inquisition
Randalt - The South Park gift fic I mentioned above
The Pride of the Dalish - Prologue to Heart of Glass
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yes! All of them. Comments are cherished!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
The sky sang out your name to me  Technically it's a happy ending for Solas and Eilan, but, uh, it feels bad for the reader. Hehehehehehe. 😈😈😈
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
The Pride of the Dalish. Eilan is a secretive person and reveals one of her most closely held secrets to Lex and he holds it gingerly for her and supports her. It is cute.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Eh. Maybe? I've gotten hate on ME over a fic. Like someone who loved my fic and praised it but said it made them think I am a bad person irl. That sort of thing? Kind of unhinged so I don't pay it much mind.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I did one smut for the clicks and it worked, baby. Most read fic with that E tag.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Nah.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge. I also don't go looking for it.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope! Though @bluewren and I discuss Lex and Eilan deeply to get them right in our independent writing, we've never actively co-written a story.
14. What's your all time favorite ship?
I am a single-minded "current ship is the OTP" fanatic, so right now it's Lex/Eilan.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
A Fenris POV fic. It starts during Inquisition. Fenris and Hawke are together in Kirkwall. Fenris is struggling to find his identity and purpose as a free man. Hawke's celebrity dominates how people see them in Kirkwall. He starts harboring resentment and blaming Hawke for all sorts of feelings of aimlessness and inadequacy and Hawke is like ????? but also not very helpful or a good emotional lean-to because she is a very prickly red Hawke. Cullen, now commander of the Inquisition, writes to Hawke asking for her help on a mission. Fenris sees it first and intercepts the mission, replies saying he'll do it, does not inform Hawke, and leaves without saying a word. It's a few months of Fenris finding himself and his inner turmoil as he goes through the ordeal of discovering himself outside the confines of slavery. Isabela is on the quest with him and really not helping because Isabela hates Hawke at this point (they were close, then things soured, and Isabela sees an opportunity to poke Hawke in the eye via Fenris.) At the end of the quest he goes to Skyhold to meet with Cullen and Hawke is already there, called in by Varric, and it's on the cusp of the battle at Fort Adamant. THE DRAMA IS EPIC. THE CONFRONTATION! AAAAAH!
16. What are your writing strengths?
According to readers, well drawn characters and scene tension.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
When I am tired and lose track of what my story is about, I tend towards humor/jokes and the fic souffle loses all shape.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
For me it's all contextual. Some times leaving something untranslated is in service of the scene and a smart choice, sometimes the translation is a smart choice. I go by what serves the fic best in that moment, and even combine it in the same fic. There's no hard or fast rules for me.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Sailor Moon when I was 11 or 12.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
My current WIP. But that's not published yet. So from the published fics, maybe Ropes of Fate. Short story, 3,000 words, light and sweet, 11-year old Lex POV. It came out of me more or less intact which was a nice feeling (and maybe only possible with short stories 😉)

Just thinking about how much better the whole Hazel-Frank-Leo dynamic would have been if we just... took all the romance out of it. Like, no romance at all. Hazel and Sammy were friends, and Hazel and Frank are friends and everything else is much the same. I wouldn't mind if the whole thing was scrapped completely and see how it went from there, but at least, the doppelganger thing gave them a reason to interact and start them getting to know each other?
Anyway, so without the plot of SoN revolving around romance between  Hazel and Frank, we can just see them as people in their own right, have more time to explore who they are as characters. When Hazel finds the photo of Sammy in her old house in Alaska, Frank is canonically just concerned that she's crying. However, Hazel felt guilty for thinking about Sammy when Frank was "being so wonderful". That wouldn't be a problem here, and she'd either let herself think and feel how she does or she'd share the memories with them. So we get more of her reaction and feelings about her past past  and the people she left behind.
As far as MoA goes, Hazel is still freaked out by seeing Leo at first, still a bit  uncomfortable, but also more thoughtful.  Like she's consumed with her memory and wondering what's going on here, asking  how is my old best friend seemingly sitting right next to me right now?
After the attack on New Rome, in the book, Frank and Leo were actually civil with each other, Frank going so far as to say that maybe it wasn't Leo's fault. In this version,  it'd be even more so, since Frank's internal monologue (and Hazel's) have said that in the beginning, Frank made mistakes all the time. So Frank waits until the others go below deck to tell Leo that "Yeah, I know exactly what it's like to mess things up, it'll be alright."
And Leo, who's usually really uncomfortable with emotional support, is spiraling right now  because he might have just started a war, and is grateful for the reassurance. Frank tells Leo about the time he fed Hannibal the elephant peanuts and  gave him indigestion and how Reyna hadn't killed him, so she has some mercy.
Frank asks if he's sure his name isn't Sammy, but more for a "Alright, this is my best friend's other best friend's doppelganger or whatever, I wanna make a good impression" psyching himself up kind of thing. Like landing on deck as a dragon didn't accomplish that.
When they have to split up to get supplies for the repairs, Frank is only hesitant because he's worried about how Hazel's handling the  whole 'my dead best friend' thing, while at the same time knowing it'll be good for her to have a chance to talk to Leo in private. And Leo doesn't take it so much as a challenge to win Frank's trust.  When they're talking about making sand castles, Leo still surprises Hazel by mentioning Sammy, but she's less skiddish about the whole thing.
Not sure how this would impact the conversation with Nemesis. Probably, the goddess would still have a point about Leo being the 7th wheel, because there are still two couples, and even if Hazel and Frank aren't dating anyone on the ship, they have much more history with each other and Percy, they're their own little family unit. Maybe that would actually hurt more to Leo, because he knows that his own best friends are occupied with each other and want time without him, which is understandable but lonely.  Maybe it hurts a little more knowing that when it comes to Hazel and Frank, who are two people that he's already ruined his first impression of himself with, he has the added obstacle of being compared to someone from Hazel's past.
When Hazel tells him not to listen to Nemesis, it's coming from the perspective of someone who's viewing Leo only as a crewmate, rather than an antagonist to someone she cares about. She's stilll wary about Leo's fire, as she's still carrying Frank's life line, but she's not so unsettled about Leo as a person.
She still takes Leo on her memory quest, and as she's less nervous about the whole thing, she can take the opportunity to revisit her old home one last time, to see Sammy one last time and say goodbye. It does reinforce Leo's idea that Sammy is much better than him, especially if he was someone Hazel would consider a friend, when all Leo's done is attack her new home.
Later on, because Hazel has seen Sammy use humor as a tool for deflection and escaping tough spots, she can see through Leo's defenses a bit better than some of the others. She calls him on it, but doesn't try to force him to talk about things he doesn't want to, because she knows exactly what that's like. While it fills him with panic to be caught out, eventually he does settle into the idea, lets himself relax around her.
The real tension between Frank and Leo would come from Frank's wariness about Leo's fire powers and Leo finding Frank so intimidating and much more capable than himself. And their conversations are this odd mix of camaraderie and jealousy and distrust. They’re less antagonistic and that lets them get to know each other a bit more slowly and organically.
Since the handcuff thing is important to the plot, that scene still happens, but with less beligerence and more playfulness. Since Frank isn't so combative with Leo, he recognizes that Leo doesn't mean any real harm. It's still a bit embarrassing and he does go to Annabeth afterwards. He brings up that he's intimidated by Leo's pyrokinesis. When Annabeth tells him that he can trust Leo, the fire is the main issue Frank is worried about.
When they fall underwater, Frank isn't as antagonistic and so he takes a moment to parse out Leo's meaning when he asks if the ship is fine, because it's vital to the quest and if it goes down, then so does everyone aboard.
It's easier to take Annabeth's advice about trusting Leo, and without having to talk about the hand holding, they have more time to talk about other things. Namely, Frank gets to tell him about his life line himself. It's a good bonding moment, where Frank is intentionally vulnerable with someone who embodies his one weakness. It means so much to Leo, who has been thinking that he doesn't deserve anyone's trust, least of all the demigods from Camp Jupiter. Even in the book, Leo took Frank's fears about his life line seriously and didn't tease him or scare him. Just imagine how much more so he'd be when they're just being open and honest with each other.
It reminds him of his mother's death, and he's like. "Yup, okay, I'm keeping this guy and I'm keeping him alive."
Leo panics like he does in the OG text, worried about whether the stick is getting smothered in sea water right now, and Frank feels reassured about telling him, and amused about Leo's sincere worry. It gives him insight into how Leo thinks and how he approaches problems logically.
Leo does feel relieved when their hosts interrupt him, because he's reached his weekly limit for genuine emotions.
The narrative would have room to examine Hazel's grief and give her an outlet to think about or discuss her struggles at adjusting to the 21st century, since that wasn't touched on aside from the chicken nugget line and a brief line in SoN about her freaking out the first time she went to Berkley.
There's some light hearted stuff like that, but also discussions between them about about what it's like to have so little family left. Hazel tells Leo about Nico and how she's so happy to have a brother, but it was hard at first when she knew she wasn't the sister he had set out to bring back to life. Leo's like, yeah definitely know what not being the first choice is like, and maybe he's a little bewildered at how Hazel's like... not as super affected by that anymore the way he still is. Like, fam... can't relate.
It'd be interesting to see how that would impact Leo's view on Nico and how he brings up the fact that rescuing him could be a trap. Tbh, during that convo in the book, it didn't seem so much like he was flat out refusing to go after Nico, but that he wanted to discuss all the dangers there, so they could plan on how to counteract them. Maybe that wasn't the case, but I think that would have been plausible since Leo's an logical thinker.
Frank is definitely a part of these discussions, dead moms club, the worst club to be part of, but at least we have each other. Leo thinks about how Jason fits there as well, but it's not his place to tell the other two about that. That lends an interesting opportunity though, if Leo includes Jason in these talks, it might humanize him in Hazel's eyes.
One night it’s the two of them on watch, and they talk about the prophecy, and Leo's like "Yeah, I'm freaking out about possibly ending the world."
And Hazel says, "From personal experience, would not recommend."
And Leo goes, "Huh?"
So Hazel explains, and Leo sits there for a moment before pulling out a notepad from his belt and adding Hazel and her mother to the list of reasons for the revenge he gonna take on Gaea.
So yeah, they talk about how much they hate Gaea, and in canon, Leo only ever told Jason that Gaea goaded him into setting the fire that killed Esperanza, but seeing that the goddess did the same to Hazel, it just gives Leo the strength to say it again, to trust Hazel with the worst moment of his life.
Also, there wasn't enough about the fact that Hazel's power has literally killed people. Like, way more than Leo's ever did, so she'd explore that trauma, probably on her own. She's so young and has so much weight on her. She never asked for this curse and she never even had a chance to actually be angry with her parents for their decisions that put her life on the course it took. She’s even told that she herself doesn’t have the power to break her own curse. I want her to be able to feel however she needs to feel to process everything she's been through.
It's not her fault that those people died, but she still feels responsible, and maybe it's be easier to forgive herself when she sees Leo in a similar situation, because it's usually easier to forgive others than it is to forgive yourself.
It's a bummer that Hazel never had any real interaction with Festus. Leo introduces her to him like he did with Frank and since he's made of precious metal, she's able to like, read his history, like she could sense all the different precious jewelry and coins of travellers under the earth on the hill with Skyron. For the first time, she gets to interact with metal that isn't cursed and he's alive??  I want to know her thoughts on that. There's a lot of celestial bronze on board the ship actually, like Leo can touch a piece of machinery and get an understanding of how it works, Hazel can touch Festus's neck and get this mental image of the precious metals on board, like a sonar or that feedback she gets in the Amazon warehouse in SoN. But since it's all connected, it's like an x-ray or an image of the human nervous system.
There'd be so many more moment like the "He reads Chinese, how cool is that?" scene.
Hazel and Leo bring out each other’s southern accents, Piper and Frank do a double take the first time one of them pulls out a “y’all’d’ve”. Those two have known Hazel and Leo the longest and have never heard that one before.
Late night watches on deck that devolve into late night talks, Juno/ Hera comes up and Leo says to Frank, "So she visited us both as babies and did like, the inverse of what she did to you that she did to me.
"Like, she put me in the burning fire place and she told your folks to pull you(r stick) out of the fire place. I feel like she's stepping in on Hestia's territory but whatever."
Leo gets excited coming up with ideas to keep Frank's lifeline safe, and extrapolating about the whole situation-
"Alright, get this, so technically- technically- fire isn't fatal to Frank, just his fire wood-"
"I don't like where this is going," Frank says.
"I'm just making a point, don't worry."
And-
"No, no, Hazel if we're ever all on fire, y'all should just like- jump on me, because if I concentrate real hard, I can keep other stuff I'm touching from burning, like with my clothes."
"Why would we all be on fire?"
"You think there isn't some god or monster that wouldn't want to set us on fire?"
"Touché.”
When talking about ways to protect the wood, Leo's talking about hypotheticals and ways to possibly treat the wood and Frank points out that he'd have to be careful because they don't know how such treatments would affect him.
Leo waves his concern away, because he's in Thinking Mode (TM) saying, "Yeah, of course, I know how to handle precious resources, you've only got the one piece and we've only got the one you."
Leo says it so offhandedly, but Frank is like Touched (TM).
Just- them being softer with each other, letting other issues between the three have more time to be explored, giving them more screen time to develop as characters and the three of them having more chances to just get to know each other and develop their friendships.

Prompt (form fic comment):  What if Jayce and Viktor coupled together briefly/sporadically after Viktor leaves and Viktor finds out that he’s pregnant in Zaun? Viktor being less inclined to fight because he’s carrying and maybe Jayce having a suddenly more protective bearing towards the machine herald he can’t explain. Viktor would probably perform surgery on himself but I also enjoy another idea where Viktor himself doesn’t know/no longer thought he was capable and it takes him by surprise. Maybe Viktor shows up to Jayce in Piltover convinced he’s dying and Jayce has to coach him through a birth neither of them know is happening.
I kind of stripped the omegaverse out of this by mistake…

A groan comes from Jayce’s lab. One that strikes a cord in his memories and he knows, if he was as intelligent as people believe he is, should cause him to not approach without backup. It too likely to be a trap or some kind of sick game on Viktor’s part.
He does at least approach cautiously. Staying low and sticking to the outer edge of the lab until he identifies where Viktor is in it.
Viktor is near the center. Collapsed in a chair with his mask abandoned on the bench next to it. His hands hanging to the sides as a pained hissed fills the air.
It could still be a trap.
“What are you doing here Viktor?” Jayce asks. Straightening up as he goes to Viktor’s side. If it is a trap than Viktor can have his cowardly win.
Viktor’s eyes jolt at the words and quickly find Jayce. There is no triumphant glee in them just pain and caution.
“Jayce,” Viktor says, his voice weak and rough, “I think I’m dying.”
“I thought your Glorious Evolution was to make that impossible.” What had started as a means to escape his illness had turned into an obsession on Viktor’s part. An attempt to make the perfect body impervious to illness or aging even at the cost of his humanity.
“It was,” Viktor says with a hiss that turns into a groan. His head tipping back as his body tenses. “But this pain – it is so much and I cannot find the source.”
Jayce doesn’t think for a second of leaving Viktor like this even if it would solve more than a few of his problems.
“Am I allowed to see if I can figure it out?” he asks because he does consider how Viktor will otherwise use it as another crime Jayce committed against him if he does not. And if not for how clearly unfocused he is Jayce would fear a laser to the face if he tried to approach Viktor without explicit permission.
“Why else would I be here?” Viktor snarls. They both choose to ignore the unspoken implication of it – Jayce is the only person Viktor trusts like this. The only person he’s allowed to see him weak and scared.
“I don’t know why you do most of what you do these days.” The Viktor Jayce knew has been a thing of the past for years now.
Viktor doesn’t respond to that. Staring off into the lab as Jayce kneels in front of him and gently parts his shirt so he can see Viktor’s chest better. Removing the guard-plate to reveal not the wires he had expected but flesh littered with scares – evidence of their battles and the surgeries Viktor performed on himself in his quest for a better body.
“Where does it hurt?” Jayce asks as he tries not to let the flesh throw him off guard. What does it matter that Viktor is still warm under his touch?
What does it matter that Jayce didn’t realize it until then despite the two of them having fallen into metaphoric bed with each other too many times over the years despite their claims of being enemies.
“My stomach,” Viktor says. “I fear something has corroded. Ah- fuck-“
Jayce spares the question of what exactly Viktor expected him to do if one of his inventions was corroding inside him? Only a moment before a more terrifying observation hits him. The pains have a pattern to the – intense waves that have Viktor tensing and swearing that give way to only a general discomfort.
“Viktor,” he says, mouth dry. He ignores the tired, sweaty glare it earns him. “I- could you be pregnant?”
The timeline lines up to Jayce’s rough dating of the last time they proved everyone who believed their intelligence wrong and that hate can be so close to lust that you can lose yourself in the heat of battle and find yourself in a battle of tongues not weapons. And Viktor had been hidden for months, something Jayce had taken to mean the Machine Herold was plotting something big.
“What!?” Viktor snaps but his eyes go wide as he likely runs the same evidence Jayce did through. Rage overtaking his expression as he comes to the same hypothesis.
“You did this to me,” he snarls. “Was this the plan all along to incapacitate me with your child? To have me crawling back to you because of them?”
“How the fuck could I have planned this? I assumed you would have taken it all out by now.” It would make sense – those organs served little purpose overall. And Viktor had gotten so good at shedding anything he thought he didn’t need anymore.
“Of course you did. Because that is what would be most convenient for you!”
Another wave of pain comes to end Viktor’s scathing judgement.
Another contraction.
And yelling at each other really isn’t helping the situation.
“Please just tell me you haven’t modified yourself down there too much.” Who knows if the baby is going to be able to come out the usual way if Viktor has gone at modifying it with the same zeal he did everything else. And Jayce really doesn’t want to have to learn how to perform a c-section right now.
“Why don’t you tell me? You were the last one down there?”
It had felt achingly familiar when they had apparently conceived this child. So much like before things went to shit and they found themselves on different sides of the battleground. Like a memory haunting Jayce’s dreams.
“I wasn’t exactly paying attention at the time.”
The huff Viktor gives at it is filled with disgust and judgement.
“No,” Viktor says after a moment of judgmental silence. “I have not modified down there.”
“Okay.” So it’s just getting a baby out the normal way then. A field of medicine neither of them could exactly claim expertise in. “I guess we’re having a baby then.”
Viktor hangs his head back and mutters that he shouldn’t have come to Jayce for help.
Somehow that hurts more than any of the barbed words he’s thrown at Jayce over the years.
“I could leave,” Jayce says, which has Viktor’s head snapping back up. Gold eyes staring at him. “Or call a doctor.”
“No. I will not have some Piltite doctor touch me or my modifications.”
But he is fine with Jayce doing exactly that. Jayce who understands enough of the principles Viktor worked on to be able to possibly reverse-engine what he has done to himself.
Viktor lets out a hiss and the arm attached to his back suddenly comes to life. Jayce having to duck as it swings a wide circle around Viktor.
“You’re going to have to turn that thing off,” Jayce says with a nod to it once Viktor seems present again.
Viktor gives a small nod. Grunting as he sits up. Fingers slipping under the armor at the top of his chest, fiddling with something before the arm falls limply down.
Jayce knows he shouldn’t watch. Viktor would hate for his enemy to know how to disable his weapon.
He justifies it as out of concern – merely monitoring the signs of labor. Not that they will change anything.
Viktor grunts as he collapses back against the chair. Eyes scanning the lab lazily.
“Is there somewhere else we can go?” he asks quietly.
Yes, a hospital Jayce wants to reply but he knows better than to.
“Uh, my office I guess.” Jayce doesn’t know how he would even begin to explain if somewhere were to see him with his supposed greatest enemy, who is clearly in pain, making their way through the streets of Piltover towards somewhere like Jayce’s home and not a cell. “The couch is still in there.”
The couch had been there before they had. An old tattered thing that Jayce still couldn’t justify replacing.
Viktor gives him another unimpressed look. Which Jayce is getting a bit sick of if he is being honest. None of this is in his field of knowledge and he would be in every right to just call a doctor to deal with it and return to his actual plans for the night.
It is partially his fault Viktor is in the situation. And he knows better than possibly anyone how much Viktor values his autonomy.
“I suppose it will do,” Viktor says, pushing himself up from the chair with a pained groan.
Jayce wants to help. But he knows it will only be met with bitter words from Viktor.
He moves without thinking when Viktor lets out a hiss and doubles over his stomach. Catching Viktor against his chest and holding him as he groans.
“I will find a way to give you the pain I am feeling,” Viktor promises against Jayce’s chest even as his hands remain bunched in his own clothes and not Jayce’s.
“Of course you will.” If anyone could figure out how to make someone unable to become pregnant experience the pains of labor it would be Viktor.
Eventually the stiffness leaves Viktor’s frame and he leans limp against Jayce.
“I should never have let you fuck me,” Viktor says.
Jayce should never have fucked Viktor. Not once they were enemies and everything became as complicated as it had.
“We cannot change the past.” No matter how many times Jayce wishes he could.
Viktor gives a little snort at it, drawing himself off Jayce to stand almost straight.
“No, we can’t,” he says, staring at Jayce with his new eyes that Jayce still hasn’t learned how to read. “If you do not relocated now your lab will likely end up contaminated.”
It’s probably a weird thing to fixate on but it is so Viktor that somehow it calms Jayce’s nerves. Viktor is strong. Far stronger than most think he is. He will be fine.
Jayce gestures for Viktor to lead the way because he knows where the office is as well as Jayce. Jayce following behind numbly trying not to think of the last time Viktor had been there – the supportive words between them turning into accusatory yelling.
Viktor scans the room when they reach it. Jayce unable but to wonder what is going through his head at it.
“We should probably get you undressed.” Don’t want clothes getting in the way of the baby coming out.
Viktor once again gives him a glare at it before hissing. Bracing against the armrest of the couch as he rides through the contraction.
“That is probably wise,” he admits once the pains have passed.
Jayce stands frozen in place until Viktor raises an eyebrow at him.
“Uh- do you want help?” Jayce doesn’t know if his help or touch is wanted or would be appreciated. Has a voice in his head that, with an undercity accent, says he’s helped enough by getting Viktor pregnant in the first place.
He almost backtracks when Viktor glares at him again before slumping.
“If you would,” Viktor mutters.
“Of course.”
Viktor undoes his pants himself, pushing them down his legs where Jayce helps tugs them off.
This close in the well-lit office Jayce can see the details of Viktor’s work on himself. Can see where the metal connects to flesh and the glow of the Hex-tech Viktor has used to power it all. Can see the parts still cobbled together into something that merely works and what parts have been refined into a more efficient design.
“If you are done trying to find my weaknesses.”
“I wasn’t-“ Jayce defends, looking up to meet Viktor’s assessing gaze.
“I don’t want to listen to your excuses,” Viktor says. “Help me get into a better position.”
That apparently just means letting Viktor brace against him as Viktor settles onto the couch, sitting up against the armrest with the cushions shoved under his hips.
“I think I have some medical gloves in the lab,” Jayce says because that’s surely something they should have if this is going to happen. This certainly not what he had in mind that he would be using them for when he first got them.”
“No time,” Viktor says.
“What do you mean?” He’s pretty sure Viktor said no time which means this is happening even faster than he thought it would.
“I said no fucking time,” Viktor hisses before letting out a pained whimper. “Ngh- it hurts.”
“I- shit- okay,” Jayce says, moving to sit on his knees next to the couch. “You just got to keep breathing. Just focus on your breathing.”
He doesn’t need Viktor’s laughter to know how ridiculous he sounds. But this is hardly something he has the most experience with and he’s trying here!
“I am breathing just fine,” Viktor says, because his is proud of his mechanical lungs. “Perhaps you should worry more about your flesh lungs. You cannot seem to catch your breath.”
“This isn’t exactly a situation I have had to deal with before.” And that was just having to help someone birth without adding in that it is his former lover, current enemy, and sometimes fuck-buddy.
“It is not something I have done before either,” Viktor reminds. His head falling back as he lets out another pained grunt.
Viktor sits up after the contraction passes. One of his hands reaching between his legs as the other awkwardly keeps himself balanced.
Jayce watches not knowing what he can do to help or even if he would be wanted.
“They are right there,” Viktor says as he pulls his hand away, letting it drop on the couch.
It takes a second for Jayce to realize what the words mean. Another to realize what it means Viktor must have felt.
“Was it weird to feel?” Jayce asks before he can stop himself.
The look Viktor gives him is unimpressed.
“I regularly perform surgery on myself. I have replaced my own organs.”
“But that’s different.” That’s Viktor consciously making changes to himself. Not feeling an unplanned baby’s head between his thighs.
“It is,” Viktor concedes as his face pulls taught again and he lets out a guttural pained sound before panting. “But not that much.”
Viktor looks at Jayce with pain-filled, desperate eyes. Sweat coating his brow.
He looks like he did back when he was dying. As their options had dried up before them and Viktor decided to go down the dangerous path he did under Jayce’s nose. Saving himself at the cost of his humanity and their partnership.
This isn’t as dire, Jayce reminds himself. And he will stay by Viktor’s side as long as Viktor allows it.
Viktor lets out another pained noise and he reaches between his legs again before letting out a curse.
“I need-“ Viktor starts before gritting his teeth with a groan.
“What do you need?” Jayce asks. Sitting closer to Viktor but not daring to touch him.
“Something to wrap them in,” Viktor manages to get out.
“I’ll-“ Jayce starts, only to be grabbed by his collar and pulled close by Viktor.
“I will find a way to make you feel this pain,” Viktor promises again. Even more determined than the last time.
Jayce will have to be extra careful not to become the Machine Herald’s captive going forward.
“I need to get something to wrap them in,” Jayce reminds when Viktor’s grip doesn’t let him go.
Viktor twists away as his hand drops from Jayce’s collar.
“I will be right back,” Jayce promises.
He’s pretty sure he hears a quiet hurry escape Viktor as he leaves.
Jayce doesn’t dare go far. Still listening for any sign Viktor needs him back urgently as he tries to find something suitable and clean to wrap the baby in. Wrap his baby, who is currently being born in his office, in.
He can panic about it later.
He settles on a coat of his that had been recently dry cleaned after wine had been spilled on it at an event. Hopefully that means it is clean enough.
When he returns to Viktor it is clear his former partner is in pain. His hand gripping onto the couch actively crushing it with his enhanced strength as his spine curls in a way Jayce would never have thought it capable of.
“I will kill you for this,” Viktor promises. “But first I will make you feel this pain I am in. For what you have done to me.”
“If I had of known this would happen I wouldn’t have done it.” He doesn’t want to be here anymore than he’s sure Viktor does.
Jayce expects a rebuttal.
Instead he only hears a pained whine.
“Vik?”
Viktor’s teeth are clenched when Jayce looks up to him for some guidance on what he should do.
“Don’t just stand there, catch them!” Viktor snarls.
“I- right.”
It’s weirdly awkward to do, catching his child and wrapping the tiny baby in the coat. Jayce is sure it is something that is going to haunt his dreams for years. He tries not to think about how much worse it is from Viktor’s perspective.
“It’s a girl,” Jayce manages, handing the bundled newborn over to Viktor who takes her with too cautious arms and unsure, tired eyes.
It’s a picture Jayce used to think about when they were partners. Always something for the far future – one day creating a family with Viktor and all that came with it. Creating life together like they had their inventions. A mini them that he had hoped would take after Viktor’s smarts and smile.
It’s a picture he had tried not to think about after Viktor went to Zaun and the Machine Herald born. Just another part of their partnership abandoned.
If he told himself even a week ago it’s a picture he would live to see he wouldn’t believe it. Their relationship too broken.
“Are you going to take her?” Jayce isn’t so foolish to believe this will fix things between them. And he doesn’t have it in him to chase Viktor down to tear his child from his arms. Not unless there really was no humanity left in his former partner.
“I-“ Viktor starts, watching their daughter instead of meeting Jayce’s eyes. He slumps back with a wince and a groan. “I am in too much pain to, uh, to think about going anywhere.”
“Of course,” Jayce says. Viktor looks exhausted. Not as bad as he had after some of their battles but it is a lot further for him to drag himself back to Zaun from here, especially without any of his supporters.
This is hardly the best place for him to rest.
“Do you want to go somewhere else?” Jayce doesn’t exactly know where he could take Viktor. Nor how he would get both him and a baby there.
“This is fine,” Viktor says, shifting painfully so he is more fully on the couch itself. Jayce doesn’t dare think about the fluids it must be soaked in other than that it will need to be disposed of now. “I have slept in worse places before.”
So has Jayce but that doesn’t stop a part of him from feeling like it is his failure that Viktor has to.
He looks around to find the blanket he uses when he sleeps on the couch after working too late, covering Viktor’s legs in it before going to leave.
He’ll sleep in the lab. In case Viktor gets any ideas about stealing something when he leaves. Not because he might need Jayce in the night.
“Jayce,” Viktor says and Jayce stops dead in his tracks. When he turns around Viktor refuses to meet his eyes instead staring down at their child. “Eh, it does not matter. You can go.”
Jayce nods but can’t actually bring himself to leave.
“If I sleep here will I wake up to your claw aimed at my face?”
The sound Viktor makes at the question is similar to a laugh.
“No you will not,” Viktor says with a small shake of his head. “I do not think I could reach to reconnect it.”
Jayce almost offers to do it for him before he remembers how dangerous Viktor is with it.
“I do not want your help either,” Viktor says apparently knowing what Jayce was thinking. “For all your so-claimed intelligent you have no survival instinct. That has been stubbornly true of you since I first met you.”
Jayce rolls his eyes at it rather than taking the bait. He, at least, is too tired to argue.
“Go to sleep,” he says as he tries to get himself comfortable on the floor. It might not be the worst place he’s slept but it’s still a far cry from his bed.
Viktor gives an unimpressed huff. But when no snarky comment follows Jayce figures he must have listened. Or exhaustion finally got to him.
As Jayce goes to sleep himself he wonders if Viktor will still be there when he wakes up.
