It’s so funny how Buck and Eddie react to each other’s relationships in wildly different ways that, however, ultimately lead to neither of them “supporting” said romance.

Buck: apparently (a little too) supportive, will out Eddie’s relationship to the entire firefam (her existence by asking her love language, the christening, Eddie snapping at her once), will not speak a single word to the woman in question, will not once show up at the Diaz’s when she’s around, funny looks at Eddie at the first signs of relationship issues, literally a counterweight to every issue in their relationship (the skateboard, Chris’s initial reaction is running to him, he’s already part of the family), not a single word of encouragement forthright relationship, his only advise so far has been “dump her” or “ghost her”.

Eddie: snaps at Buck when he starts bringing up his exes, visibly angry when he’s bending over backwards for Abby, constantly poking Buck about living at his ghost girlfriend’s house, openly hostile with TK when she first films them, “your girlfriend isn’t helping”, bitterly jealous during the treasure hunt, invites them to dinner and puts on his bitchiest face and tells Buck to “move on”, volunteers to go with the girl he thought Buck was staring at, can’t even pretend to be sad over Buck’s big fight with Taylor

I just find it particularly hilarious that Buck is apparently all in and supportive but quietly doing small sabotage to Eddie’s love life by not actually supporting it and straight up suggesting he leaves them, vs Eddie who never once actually told Buck to leave these relationships but was rather transparent in his dislike for them and made no effort to hide that he didn’t approve.

My brain said no to ending fics again, so here's a new wip(which I already mentioned)

Meet Alex Diaz aka Eddie's little cousin:

“Well, hello cutie,” the guy Buck never saw enters Eddie’s kitchen. His hair is wet and some dots of the water run over his gorgeous body. It’s so good, that the abs that Eddie had years ago when they first met, would lose.

The dark blue sweatpants highlights the guy’s V-line. Buck would have started flirting right this moment to throw them off him, if not the panic that he came to cook the dinner only to meet Eddie's new boyfriend. Whom he didn't even know about.

“Ehm, Hi? Who…,” and then Buck’s panicked tired brain decided to start work. The similarities of the guy and Eddie and the quiet young age of the stranger comes to the picture for Buck. “Oh, you’re Alex. Eddie told me you will come from Texas today. Sorry, my brain works bad after a half of the shift I covered today after 24 hours with a team even if I slept after. And I’m Buck by the way.”

“Yeah I figured you’re the guy Eddie, abuela and Chris talk a lot about. Fit the description, And it’s okay you forgot. What is not okay is that my cousin hasn't told me we're gonna have such a hot cook today, before coming to get Chris from school. I would be faster in the shower and prepare myself better for the first expression. It’s important,” the guy smiles brightly and comes a little closer to him, leaning on the countertop near him.

“Trust me, you left more when a good expression,” Buck mutters and a second he registers he said it out loud he wants to slap himself. But Alex smiles more.

“Oh, yeah? I'm happy I left such a good expression on you,” Buck looks up and sees a cute smile and warm brown eyes with something like interest in them. “Are you Eddie’s boyfriend?”

“What? No, we're just friends,”the topic change catches Buck off guard. Especially as recently absolutely everyone made it their mission to talk to Buck how it’s so obvious he’s pining over his best friend. But Alex can’t see it after 5 minutes of conversation when Eddie is not even around, right? Or is Buck so bad at hiding it?

“Oh yeah? Sorry I just assumed as you are really popular in a family that you two are dating. And you have keys. But my bad,” Alex raises hand as he surrenders and Buck makes a deep mental exhale. Nor so obvious then. “And really that’s good,” Buck raises his eyebrow on the new Diaz. “Means I have a chance and shouldn’t steal such a cutie from my bro. Not good family behavior,” Buck opens his mouth not knowing what to say to the young man. “Do you need help? With cutting something or with setting the table?” Buck nods and gives Alex vegetables for a salad.

my sweet baby angel, what the fuck did you mean by you're not sure of your own feelings yet ? buck's been vocal about his attraction towards tommy, what feelings has he yet to discover?? perhaps... you're referring to the object of the other dilemma wrecking buck's brain? about lying to eddie?
