If Drageset’s verbal commitment is finalized, it will result in a male seizing one of just twelve D1 scholarships intended for women’s volleyball at the University of Washington. The twelve scholarships are often spread out over the course of four years, with as few as two to three being offered per year."
He's OK with taking a full scholarship ment for a woman and women who object are told to "be kind". Kindness goes both ways, as in not taking scholarships and opportunities ment for others.
By Anna Slatz December 13, 2023
Reduxx has learned that a volleyball player from California is reportedly set to become the first known male recipient of a women’s Division 1 (D1) athletic scholarship. Tate Drageset, 17, has verbally committed to the University of Washington, and, if the offer is signed next fall, he would be seizing one of only twelve D1 volleyball scholarships available for females at the University.
The announcement of Drageset’s verbal commitment to the University of Washington was made in June to much fanfare within the volleyball community, with multiple sporting magazines and social media accounts covering the verbal commitment.
Drageset has long been considered a rising star within women’s volleyball, and he was the dominant force on two USA Volleyball teams in two separate age groups that both claimed national titles last summer. He was also named an MVP at the Girls Junior National Championships earlier this year. In addition to his club volleyball accolades, he was awarded the title of the California Interscholastic Federation’s Division 5 Player of the 2022-23 Year.
Tumblr media
But Drageset’s transgender status has reportedly been concealed from public knowledge, with coaches, parents, and opposing players being left uninformed of his biological sex ahead of games.
Now, for the first time, a source close to the situation has anonymously come forward to reveal concerns about the steady escalation of Drageset’s participation in women’s volleyball, something which has now resulted in him preparing to take a rare, all-expenses-paid athletic scholarship opportunity
If Drageset’s verbal commitment is finalized, it will result in a male seizing one of just twelve D1 scholarships intended for women’s volleyball at the University of Washington. The twelve scholarships are often spread out over the course of four years, with as few as two to three being offered per year.

The source, who is the parent of a minor player within the Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA) community, said suspicions were raised years ago when Drageset’s performance far surpassed that of his teammates. At the time, Drageset was 12-years-old but was playing against 14-year-old females in one effort to make up for his obvious advantages.
“You could tell even back then that he was different from the girls,” the parent says. “As he got older, it became more obvious that something was off. Anytime the subject of [Drageset] would come up EVERY PARENT from any SCVA team already knew about him. Parents look around before they speak in hushed tones. Some will wait to discuss until outside the gym.”
The parent revealed that most families have been hesitant to speak out due to fears that their daughters will be penalized.
“Everyone is scared of how their child will be treated if they speak up. It’s already so competitive to get on a good club team,” the parent said. “The stealing of positions and opportunities has been infuriating and so sad when you see how it affects the girls. There is no concern for their mental health or safety after being replaced.”
Speaking to Reduxx, representatives from the Independent Council on Women’s Sports (ICONS) noted that a number of local families have become aware of Drageset’s participation in women’s volleyball, but that there had been silence from his family, who appears to be actively obscuring his status.
“We know many of the girls he’s playing against do not know that they are competing against a male. There has been no consideration from his family to tell female athletes or coaches the truth. They have not been transparent, so girls are repeatedly and unknowingly put at a disadvantage and not given the chance to opt out over increased safety risks,” Marshi Smith said.
Her colleague, Kim Jones, added: “We also know that many local families do know and they are angry that their daughters are continuously put in a position to lose to a male player in girls’ sports. They recognize it is unfair and potentially unsafe as more instances of concussion injuries inflicted by male athletes arise.”
ICONS, a non-partisan campaign group, was launched in 2021 to address the issue of male self-identification into women’s sport, with co-founders Smith and Jones both being former National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) athletes. Jones’ daughter was also one of the female swimmers forced to compete against transgender athlete Lia Thomas.
While Drageset’s transgender status appears to have been carefully concealed by his family in recent years, his mother, Stacey Drageset, reportedly commissioned a short film to be made about Tate in 2016. Titled “Trans-mission.love,” the documentary-style film was produced when Drageset was 12-years-old. While his face is not shown in the film, Drageset can be seen holding a volleyball with his first name on it, and playing volleyball on the beach in sections from the trailer.
Around the same time, Drageset’s mother took his story to the Los Angeles Times, where she revealed that she became convinced her son was transgender due to his preference for “feminine” clothing and colors as a toddler. In the article, Drageset’s parents state that they showed him an interview with Jazz Jennings at age 6 and felt their son “related” to Jennings.
Curiously, the year before Drageset’s family began touting his journey as a “trans kid,” his mother published a children’s picture book on gender identity, one which was recently named in during inquiry into age-appropriate books in Texas schools.
While identifying as a “girl,” Drageset’s athletic performance has been far and above that of his female colleagues and competitors. Earlier this year, he took home a silver medal and $2,000 prize while competing against mature professional female volleyball players at the Teqvoly World Tour.
When compared to same-height female athletes within his volleyball club, Drageset’s standing reach, vertical jump, and other key physical metrics are all more favorable, something ICONS says is unsurprising even if Drageset had been placed on “puberty blockers” at a young age.
“No male is ever going to go through female development. Their bodies are not comparable in thousands of ways. Puberty blockers do not remove predicted adult height and males have a 5 or 6 inch advantage that influences athletic performance particularly in sports like volleyball,” Kim Jones said, pointing to a literature review completed by Drs. Gregory Brown and Tommy Lundberg.
The review, released earlier this year, stated that “the current evidence suggests that male children retain sex-based advantages in body height and lean body mass which may allow for retained male athletic advantages” even when placed on hormones or puberty blockers at an early age.
Jones also points to the fact that the net in women’s volleyball is set over 7 inches lower than in men’s, not just because men on average are six inches taller, but because the male vertical jump is at least 20% higher than that of a woman of the same height.
The ICONS representatives place much of the blame on the NCAA, the governing body which regulates collegiate athletics in the United States. Following the Lia Thomas controversy in 2022, the NCAA attempted to clarify its position on transgender athletes, but just sowed more confusion amongst critics.
“Right now, the NCAA guidelines and the upcoming Biden Administration’s Title IX reinterpretations incentivize male athletes and their families to hide their sex from women and girls,” Marshi Smith says, noting that the NCAA largely does not question any athlete’s biological sex, or allow for such interrogations to occur under “discrimination” policies. She likens it to “showing someone a pile of treasure” and then leaving it unguarded, as the NCAA provides substantial financial and professional incentives for athletes.
“We’re facing a situation where women aren’t even allowed to know if they’re putting themselves at increased safety risk. It’s as if men are allowed to do what they want to women so long as they can get away with it. The message to teams across the country is that if men excel at deception or if the NCAA effectively silences women, men are allowed to compromise women’s safety, dignity, and privacy.”
Smith adds: “The only solution to provide women with fair and safe sport is to have a female-protected category with no exceptions.”
EDITOR’S NOTE: A previous version of this article mistakenly attributed a study on trans-identified male participation in women’s sport to Byron Wolter of the Center on Sport Policy and Conduct. Mr. Wolter provided editing, but the article was written by Dr. Gregory Brown of the University of Nebraska-Kearney and Dr. Tommy Lundberg of the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden. The article has been updated to reflect the correction.

Thoughts about each TDI Reboot episode, starting at 1. SPOILERS UNDER THE READMORE.
Chris' new voice is certainly... a change. I don't mind it, and I think Terry is getting his acting and emotes for him right, but it's definitely gonna take some time to adjust and not immediately think it's Don.
"Hey, what's up I'm here to slay" from the intro is killing me in the best and worst ways. Rip the old intro song.
Also there's a very VERY small detail for the campfire. When Raj looks back to the screen, only one of his eyes follow. Either an animation error, or he has a lazy eye.
It's been 15 years since the beginning of the show in canon?? That means the gen 1 and 2 casts are roughly between 28-31 I think?? And yet Chris and Chef Hatchet don't look any different. Also since og Island premiered in 2007, this one is taking place in 2022 and NOT 2023.
Either way this gives me a good excuse to practice character design with a 15 years timeskip and make adult designs for the gen 1 and 2 casts.
Priya. WHAT. GIRL GO TO THERAPY AND GET AWAY FROM YOUR PARENTS. Also Owen cameo.
Bowie is gay like I thought he'd be. Now way he wasn't a reference to David Bowie. Getting some vibes of him being the new Heather tbh.
I, like many others, thought Ripper was going to be the new Owen. He's only a small bit Owen with a dash of Duncan, and a whole lot of Scott. Respect to Ripper for how spicy he likes his food, tho lol.
Chase and Emma are exes. Chase is a YouTube/Twitch personality T-T. Here's hoping that Emma broke up with him bc she's a lesbian. Really want her and Bowie to be besties.
Scary Girl's real name is Lauren >:(
Zee is both the smartest and dumbest character. I want him to be the blorbo of the season, but I'm getting the feeling it's gonna be Bowie.
Wayne: "What'd you think, Rajey?" 🥺
Nichelle is the only one to not get an audition tape. Interesting. Also a Madonna reference?
Julia called herself an influencer. She better be an early boot for that.
MK, Axel, Caleb and Damien are the only ones I don't have any comments about. Sucks 'cause I was hoping I'd really like MK and Axel.
Drone of Dispair. Somehow the worst idea yet lol. Can't wait for a joke about one of the contestants flying over private airspace and getting shot.
Ripper called himself the alpha male nooooo
EVEN BOWIE IS CALLING WAYNE AND RAJ GAY LMAO
And Bowie immediately goes to the girls' side of the cabin to talk shit about Chase with Emma. Love them sm.
Ripper: "Where'd you get the soda from??"
Zee: "...I have no idea."
Rip Bowie's heart glasses, hope cartoon logic kicks in and he has a million of then.
If Damien thinks they can't show Ripper's censored ass on TV, then I wonder what his reaction would be to a show like Naked and Afraid.
Emma and Chase didn't break up over lesbianisms unfortunately. But messing up her car's breaks and causing her to crash is still a valid reason for her to break up with him and be incredibly upset. Like, he could have killed her, other bystanders, or any of the puppies at the shop she crashed into. Yet I think the show is treating Emma as being unreasonable? It's just a prank bro.
Also MK calling Emma out for saying 25% of the money instead of half like she did when talking to Bowie earlier. Maybe there's more to the break up story?? Like she's lying?? But that still wouldn't make sense if the show is already treating her as unreasonable beforehand. Idk.
Bowie really do be like "are the straights okay? 🙄"
Raj: "Wayners" 😭
Also Wayne and Raj both have the same accent as Ezekiel.
Goodbye Caleb, we barely knew ya. Have fun hanging out with Staci and getting no character development like her. Maybe one day he can come back like Justin.
BOWIE IS THE NEW HEATHER, I WAS RIGHT AND HE IS GONNA BE THE BLORBO
Overall, fun first episode. Not a smash hit or anything, but a pretty good hook. Also the animation and character design is such an upgrade. I was hesitant about the new cast's designs, but actually seeing them in the show and moving makes it work so much better to me. After rewatching the first half of og Island, it is amazing to see how far this show and its animators have come from 2007.

SMUT in YA
I've been seeing this conversation all over social media recently. Young women mostly posting about how SMUT should absolutely NOT be in YA. Usually with some funny little "shh, shh" as they wink at the camera, or a silly "tell me why" face as if they're expecting people in the comments to out themselves as pedophiles.
But here's the thing...I'd really like these people to define smut, and maybe drop some examples of it that they think they're finding in YA.
"...you can’t possibly have an honest portrayal of male adolescence that doesn’t include the significant current of sexuality. Sorry, it can’t be done unless you’re writing about non-human, inanimate, asexual males. And I know kids who define themselves as asexual, but that designation in itself says something about sexuality." Andrew Smith
I'm sure we can all agree books made especially for teenagers should not be pornographic. Nobody is arguing that. But also, what is YA?
Is it any book with a main character who is a teenager?
Because some of my favorite authors (like the above, Andrew Smith) have said they don't write for kids, they write for readers. I had the honor of hearing him speak, and he talked about how his books had gotten banned (something that is happening all too frequently now) and that the reason most of his characters are teen boys is because that's the time of his life where his emotions were at their height. That's where all the drama was.
But let's get back to sex. Or as BookTok is calling it now, SMUT.
Smut is an almost silly word when you're talking about guilty pleasure books with your adult friends, but when used to describe YA it most defiantly is a hard negative. And here's why.
Kids should be protected.
We all know this.
We all get this.
But from what exactly? Why are books the first to be censored?
I have yet to see a TikTok, or parent at a school board meeting argue on why kids shouldn't be reading about genocide.
Deogratias, A Tale of Rwanda, is a graphic novel on my high school library shelves and has never been challenged.
"Well, it's real!" you could argue. (And believe me, people do. argue that. As if sex is a made-up thing.)
It's history, so it should be represented. And you know - I agree.
However, the first time I read Deogratias, it was so disturbing, it made me nauseated. I cried on my way home from work that day. Whenever I see the book, I still get a sick feeling in my belly. And that's OKAY. It's a story with graphic visual depictions of rape and murder and dismemberment. These things happened. So, it's on the shelf.
My students read The Bluest Eye, by Toni Morrison, Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler, not to mention Shakespeare, Stephen King, and texts on slavery and every American War.
But the sex-ed books were pulled from my shelves this year.
Books that say sex can be good and safe, if you're informed.
The rape books stayed of course.
I can't help but wonder if the difference is female pain vs. pleasure.
Now we have these TikTokers. As if conservative school boards aren't loud enough.
But what could be wrong with wanting to keep "smut" out of kids books?
Save the kids!
We heard this when they wanted to integrate schools. SAve the kids!
We heard this when they wanted to deny gay marriage. SAve the kids!
It seems like everyone wants to "Save the Kids" when it's something as simple as keeping them ignorant.
Cause here's the thing...What is smut?
If we remove every book from the high school that has sex in it. Is that enough?
What about books where a person debates losing their virginity?
That would probably be a pretty useful thing for a teenager to read about, but is that smut?
If we take out the sex, but only the good sex, mind you, do we also take out hand jobs? Blow jobs? Oh... it's ALL sex. ALL SEX IS SMUT. Okay, what about a book in which a girl looks over her naked body in a mirror? That's body image, but is that too much?
What about books on health? What to expect as you grow? Body changes?
What about books on menstral cycles, and nocturnal ejaculations?
We can't have the kids knowing too much!
And while we're at it....the queer books too.
They're sexual by nature right?
Let me just remind the younger ones. The ones who think they're liberal, but are perfectly fine with the rallying cry of "KEEP SMUT OUT OF YA".
Cause I can tell you, that's where it always starts. With a vague definition of morality, and censorship for the kids.
I would like to understand what books you're really worried about.
Would a child reading about sex before they're ready cause them more mental trauma then reading about teen suicide? Because I've been a YA librarian for over a decade and have yet to read what I'd call smut in any young adult book. To be fair, I have read about sexual exploration. Body image. Consent. Non-consent. Incest. Love. Rage. Friendships. Family. Infatuation. Hope.
This is life! Young adults are just that; they're burgeoning on adulthood, and books are a safe place. Even scary books. This is where they should learn- in their libraries.
I find this infatuation with the inherent perverseness of sex so purely American puritanical, that the only way sex is allowed in the library is if it's traumatic.
Boys in books talking about rape culture is a lesson/ girls in books learning how to masturbate is smut. Why must someone be punished for it to be permissible? Why must we flagellate ourselves as if we're still in the dark ages?
Because I promise you, this is us taking the fast track back to the days where women weren't even allowed to check out biology books.
First, we "protect" kids. Then we "protect" women. Then only those in charge decide what is "need to know".
Fight the real problem in society. Cause it's not the books.

By Garret Keizer
More than half a century has passed since I graduated from high school, an eon in digital time, but the project to remove books from schools and libraries was almost as hot an issue then as it is now. Even classics can go out of print, but the war on books is never out of style.
I was as opposed to that war at the age of 17 as I am at age 70. But there’s something I failed to see in my youth that I recognize today: the one piece of common ground between the book banners and me. We both believe that books matter, that they have the power to change a young person’s life. Like it or not, we belong to the same minority, the minority of those who believe in the power of literature in a post-literate age.
The library at my public high school in New Jersey had a collection of restricted books, which were kept in the librarian’s office and which a student couldn’t borrow without a parent’s written permission. The contents of the “restricted reading list,” as it was called, were a well-kept secret. One might perchance locate a title in the card catalog and see it marked as restricted, but there was no way to know the other titles on the list.
I was one of a small number of students who found the restriction intolerable.
Looking back on those days, I’m inclined to appreciate the librarian and the school administration more than I did at the time. Access to the books was restricted, yes, but no one was calling for their removal. Reactionary as the grown-ups in charge seemed to us then, they were at least aiming for a workable compromise.
But I was so much older then, as Bob Dylan said, and I was determined that the barriers to my reading come down. The first step was to learn the contents of the list, which I proposed to do by entering the librarian’s locked office after school with the aid of a sympathetic custodian. My partner in crime was a girl I’d started to date, like me an avid reader, the only person I knew with her own subscription to The Village Voice. We copied down the titles with the custodian standing at the door, reproduced them on a mimeograph machine and circulated them throughout the school with a petition calling for their liberation. As I recall, only a handful of faculty members added their names to those of the scores of students who signed. A Spanish-language teacher scrawled his signature defiantly as he declared in his clipped accent, “You, sir, are a man of the people!”
I only wish the man of the people could remember more of the titles on the list. I know that one was Jane Kramer’s biography “Allen Ginsberg in America,” which I’d charged out with my mother’s reluctantly surreptitious permission. I’m pretty sure Claude Brown’s “Manchild in the Promised Land” was another and perhaps Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s “A Coney Island of the Mind.”The only title besides Kramer’s that I can recall with absolute certainty is James T. Farrell’s “The Young Manhood of Studs Lonigan,” mainly because of the salacious interest it aroused among my male classmates. The imaginations of young people will always be way ahead of their elders’ censorship.
One reason I probably can’t remember more titles from the list is that none of them changed my life. The books most censors go after rarely do. Had I gotten no further than “Allen Ginsberg in America” or even his notorious poem “Howl,”the extent of my youthful transgressions might not have advanced beyond trying to grow a beard.
It was the Bible that radicalized me. I came to Marx via the Magnificat, to the peace movement via the Sermon on the Mount. “Let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream” — that was Martin Luther King Jr., but as any of his closest followers could have told me, he was quoting the Hebrew prophet Amos. It was the least restricted book of my childhood that proved the most subversive as I came of age.
I imagine many of those fighting to ban books might say the same, notwithstanding outcomes very different from mine. Shouldn’t that difference give us pause? There is no way to determine the influence of a book. I’ve looked into “Mein Kampf” but it didn’t make me a Nazi; it only heightened my instinctual awareness of what might. Kate Millett begins her landmark feminist study “Sexual Politics”with a takedown of Henry Miller; what others found liberating in Miller’s books exemplifies what she would be liberated from. Books can inspire readers to very different beliefs and courses of action. Reading the Bible has bolstered the resolution of more than one atheist. Should it be banned for that reason?
I can’t claim to know all the motives of those who would ban certain books. Given that so many of the prohibited books speak openly and compassionately about racial justice and gender diversity, it’s not unreasonable to suppose that the bans and removals are motivated by prejudice and hate. But in the interest of finding common ground, I might do better to look at more benign human traits that most of us share — laziness, for example, or simple fatigue. I’m well acquainted with both.
It’s hard work raising a child in a complicated world. It takes time and patience to model intellectual courage along with whatever other values you wish to impart. To read a controversial book with your children, pointing out what you find objectionable and listening to what they have to say, requires a lot more energy than getting rid of the book.
As for the politicians pushing the book-banning agenda (and pushing concerned parent groups in front of them), they are almost certainly doing it for political capital, and there are few quicker, easier and, yes, lazier ways of garnering political capital than vowing to keep teachers in line. It’s a time-honored tactic that can play as well with the left as with the right — with anyone who’s ever suffered in school.
My youthful fight against the restricted reading list was short-lived. The girl and I were called to the principal’s office, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the teachers who signed our petition were called too. The restricted reading list remained in force. But no one could stop me from reading what I wanted to read, and no one could have stopped me from marrying the girl. We’re married still, bookworms to this day — what a pair of dinosaurs we turned out to be.
But so are the book banners — not only for engaging in a no-win fight as old as Gutenberg but also for believing, as we do, that books are powerful things worth fighting over. If only they believed in the intelligence of their own children and in their ability to influence them by example and discussion as opposed to the cultivation of philistinism and fear. My view of Allen Ginsberg actually became more critical after reading Kramer’s biography, the book I’d persuaded my skeptical mother to let me read. She probably didn’t think so at the time, but she knew what she was doing.

There's an old book I would like to recommend:
Kinto (1983) by Richie Dostyan
If it was ever translated to Georgian (although I guess it never was...) maybe it's cover could look something like this:
Tumblr media
(If I get to draw Georgian letters and a cat together be sure that's the occasion I'm not about to miss😋)
You can read THE WHOLE BOOK ONLINE for free (it's in Russian but I've checked it can be translated using "google translator", at least on google chrome). The story isn't long, I've read it one evening and I'm no fast reader.
SHORT: it takes place in TBILISI FROM A 100 YEARS AGO!!!😃 And it is a cute story about a cat that starts to live with a average Georgian family and kind of turns their life upside down... Like making everybody around, even masculine men, a bit more sensitive (to the point of discovering that even a bird can have feelings and even... learning to respect your mother in law for her knowledge)
Why would you like to read "russian book" nowadays? Well, consider that the writer, Richie Dostyan (Ричи Достян, რიჩი დოსტიანი) was not exactly russian: she was Armenian, born in 1915 in Warsaw (which means Poland, don't care what wikipedia says), that moved to Tbilisi in the age of 10 (it was called Tyflis at that time), later in her life she also lived in Leningrad and Moscow. So I take that when she writes about 12 years old Georgian girl living with her parents and her granny in Tbilisi in 1920's and how that everyday life was like - it sure is like first hand information! Even if she wrote the book being almost 70 - her childhood memories is still best thing we can get about those times!
The book is especially nice experience for people still fascinated with their own cat's behavior - you can so much sympathise with Gopadze family observing their Kinto🥰
Also you get to know things like why the cat is named Kinto, what makes him so similar to a typical Georgian man and what makes Georgian neighbours gather under somebody's balcony in their underwear...
Interesting thing is that the three-coloured cat is male and the granny says that it is very rare. And well, that's the most queer thing there is in the book but considering the circumstances that's still something, right?😉😆
And now to my favorite discovery - check this out:
Tumblr media
Unfortunately the joke is lost in translation because of important detail: imagine that it was like saying "horrible heat!" when "horrible" is masculine and "heat" is feminine or "awful cold!" with "awful" being feminine and "cold" masculine. Now I imagine the russian censor that was reading this fragment (because obviously every book in Soviet Union must have get past censorship) probably was thinking: "So Georgians can't distinguish between genders when speaking Russian? Oh, they are so dumb then! But there's definitelly nothing wrong with this fragment of the book" - Check!
Well... I think it was the censor who missed the actual joke - because Georgians just did not give a shიt about genders here: "switch to Russian" in "acute situations"? - they are literally only using occupants' language as vulgar words for bad weather, you get it?!😂 - Checkmate, censorship!!!🤣

I'm afab and I'll mention that plenty of times because I genuinely feel my experiences with being afab and identifying as a girl for so long have affected who I am.
Minor mention of enbyphobia/transphobia
At the same time, I do not enjoy any kind of gendering towards being a woman for myself. Like I can't even use she/her pronouns and cause I'm like "if I use he/him pronouns, the she/her ones will feel bad :(" so I stick strictly with they/them and neopronouns that my loved ones use.
I know part of it has been because of trauma. My experiences have been affected cause I'm afab and seen as a woman. People in my life see me as such. My old name, technically deadname, is something that I still identify with but I can't use it cause it brings up memories. Hell, even before I came out, if someone said my name I would tense up or jump. Now I just use it sometimes in games when I feel like it's more fitting, like my City Folk town or I use it to reconnect with my inner child that I still refer to as such. A part of my identity is actually still related to she/her and my deadname, but I feel so uncomfortable with it due to traumatic memories around it. My ex boyfriend (a transphobe I found out later) was the first person I opened up to about my questioning my gender. I was so scared and he didn't react well. Hearing my parents use "she/her" and call me by my deadname is just a reminder that even if I did come out, I'm not valid cause I know damn well they're transphobic and ESPECIALLY enbyphobic. I don't know if this will ever change, but I just can't feel comfortable with she/her, being seen as a woman, or my deadname even though how my gender experience is IS actually based between fluctuating or being fluid between such things. It also doesn't help that my friend's transphobic dad sees me "as a woman" and so he constantly uses she/her because of it even though my friend regularly reminds him. Luckily he doesn't know me by any other name than River so he can't deadname me. But it's not even that he does it, it's the genuine disrespect of this guy. Also doesn't help that he is a horrible person, is extremely dependent on my friend, and hates me cause I "take him away from family time." He's a really fucked up guy and really awful. I'm glad my friend has me cause genuinely it is like "emotional inc*st" (censored for my own benefit, just the word can be a trigger to me) and it's so gross how he acts towards him and it makes me so mad. He doesn't even respect his boundaries at all! It's so unfair...
Either way, that's a long rant about my gender identity and how I feel. I'll mention I'm afab due to having experiences related to being that and having identified as a woman for so long. But ultimately I've come to identify as more agender/nonbinary due to such experiences though I stick with the term genderfluid because that is how I experience my gender. Nonbinary or agender are just other terms I'm comfortable with and tend to be more "simplified" or broad terms for me. I've honestly just come to see myself as in between or neither most of the time.
However, some generally "feminine" or woman terms are fine in some cases. Like Queen/Princess, I don't see those as gendered so I'm fine with them. Actress and most "-ess" forms of careers I'm fine with for myself (plus they sound fancier so I like em.) And all masculine/male/men terms like king and such are fine cause I have no problem being seen in a more "man" way or if people mistake me for a guy since it's so opposite of how I normally appear especially since I have a very obviously female body (aka big boobs and prominent curves which i actually like and don't feel dysphoric with except for the fact it gets me seen as a "woman" so much since people associate that with woman.) So yeah.
I guess that's it. Just a random rant on my gender identity, my experiences with my assigned at birth sex/gender and the gender I identified as for most of my life because I never had a choice. And some things I'm comfortable with. Most of my discomfort comes from memories related to my abusers or how I retracted my coming out as genderfluid at 16 due to all the "anti-SJW" and enbyphobic shit that was really prominent back then and my school generally having more conservatives as well and I identified as a girl literally just due to pressure and it made me feel so wrong and so bad. So identifying with that part of me is something I'm slowly reclaiming. At least I can have my OCs be women or use she/her pronouns and not feel dysphoric from it. I make a lot of em afab or women and I actually never mind it. I have male or men OCs as well, but again, afab so it's like my OCs help me reclaim that part of myself that has become so tainted by bad memories and experiences.

Because I can't believe I have to say this (read: because the eng version is THAT bad), here's some things that the translation royally messed up:
In Vil's school uniform, Cater does comment on Vil's eyelashes but he also calls him beautiful and instead of "am I dreaming" says he thought of dating him. Vil's response is "Dating me is more expensive than you know" and it ends with Cater giving up because he can't afford him. There's no price tag on dreaming about Vil, that would be stupid.
Jamil is dear to Kalim. Not as a brother. Not as a cousin. Kalim calls him best friend and talks about how they'll always be together. No family ties there.
Leona's kingdom isn't "all about respecting the ladies" but rather the ladies are dominant there, as usual in animal society. Leona and Ruggie don't "respect women," they are scared of them.
Thaumarks are called Madol.
Blastcycles are called Magiwheels.
Spelldrive is called Magical Shift/Magift.
Housewarden is stupid, they're dorm leaders.
Special Spell is called Unique Magic as in, it is magic that only this person is capable of casting in this way.
They don't actually use the US school system and their ages don't match the system Aniplex is trying to push on them.
Just don't read anything Floyd or Cater say. Period. Most of it is so off and wrong that it's actually sad.
Sam originally has body-paint and a pattern on his vest that look like a skeleton.
Sebek is far more respectful to Malleus than Silver is and should be calling him Master Malleus or Young Master at all times.
A lot of these boys swear. Honestly, do yourself a favor and look up ACTUAL translations, not the censored bs you're being given.
Cater actually has two older sisters who used to dress him up like a girl when he was younger. They also made him hate sweets.
Cater is not a memelord making fun of his friends' mental breakdown, he is a sensitive, empathetic, and severely depressed individual and I honestly don't know why they did what they did with him.
Floyd is not a "lol so random xD" kind of character either, he is moody and gets easily bored of things that are easy for him – which is nearly everything because he's kind of a prodigy. One thing he almost never gets bored of is teasing people, especially those that get emotional easily because irrational things like emotions keep him interested.
Vil doesn't hate poor people and if you can't take care of yourself because of mental health problems, he would never condemn or insult you, he's way more likely to help you out.
The one yelling for hours after Trey and Che'nya took Riddle out to play and for a tart was Riddle's mother, NOT Trey's parents. How do you mess up this bad...
Speaking of whom, Riddle's mom is not slightly controlling, she's downright abusive. They toned her down quite a lot in EN but in JP, she spends hours yelling at Trey, his parents, AND his younger siblings, actively prevents Riddle from forming any relationships, gives him extremely harsh mental punishments for the most minor of missteps, even withdraws food from him if she feels like he's eaten enough calories for the day.
Jamil said the first thing he would teach his parrot is to call him master. Not... "Hello or something" What even...
Floyd's nickname for Lilia is Mendako-chan, meaning flapjack octopus. The scientific name of this octopus is Adorabilis, as a reference to Lilia's cute exterior.
Epel and Vil regularly get referred to as cute and beautiful respectively. This is almost entirely erased in twsten without a given reason. It is, however, safe to assume that it's due to cute and beautiful being words not traditionally associated with male characters. Twsten also erased a lot of Vil's gender-neutral speech which is a key point of his character.
Rook's nickname for Jamil is Monsieur Multi, referring to multiple sides of his personality which he usually keeps hidden, although you could interpret it also as the wide multitude of talents he possesses. The nickname is NOT Pyramid. That is just... really ignorant and racist. Speaking of which, the name of Jamil's Unique Magic is Snake Whisper, NOT Snake Charmer. Both the changes on EN feel like kind of racist ngl.
Since this keeps coming up, Trey is not toxic, let alone abusive to Cater. In fact, Trey is one of the people Cater considers the closest. Cater keeps his distance from everyone due to his upbringing (which did traumatize him, just in a more subtle way than other characters have been traumatized), but Trey is getting closer to Cater letting his walls down.
Vil changed his last name from Venue to Schoenheit so that his success isn't reliant on his father. Eric Venue is not a stage name. Vil had the chance for easy acting success and actively avoided it because it's important to him to achieve his dreams with his own power.
In book 6, Vil mentions all the overblotees being in extensive therapy after overblotting as well as undergoing physical examinations. EN erased the therapy part entirely.
There's probably more but this is what I remembered.
Edit: Cater siblings
Edit 2: Unique magic, Cater's depression, Floyd, Vil
Edit 3: Riddle's mom vs Trey's parents
Edit 4: Jamil's parrots, Lilia's nickname, Epel, Vil, and Twsten's attitude to gender
Edit 5: Jamil and the strange name changes
Edit 6: Trey and Cater's relationship
Edit 7: Vil, Eric, and names, therapy

10 Anti LO Asks
1. Ok so this is more of a proper comic book but if history, but there’s a DC heroine called Power Girl who is infamous for her oversexuslized costume, with the whole emphasis being on her overly hourglass shape, especially focusing on her breasts with a literal boob window as her costume. Since her introduction many decades ago people have critiqued it as grossly misogynistic and juvenile, but DC had the good sense to ignore it … until a few years ago where they tried to actually claim her oversexualization and boob window was actually the peak of feminism and empowerment with such excuses as:
She refuses to wear a Superman symbol on her chest, because she's her own woman. So her cleavage window is actually a mark of independence
She's never been able to find a chest emblem that truly fits with her beliefs and ideals. So her cleavage window is actually a poignant symbol of her search for identity
She uses it to distract people from her face, explaining how she keeps her identity a secret without wearing a mask. So her cleavage window actually has a practical purpose
As you can guess, absolutely no one buys this and find it’s rather pathetic they can’t admit to her actual purpose. Anyway, this exact sort of reasoning is exactly what I see from Rachel and her defenders over how they excuse how Persephone is depicted as an over-sexualized teenager, and how they want to try and hide under a fake veneer of “feminism”. They try to desperately claim that her constantly  being naked without her free will, sexualized at every moment by Hades, and designed quite literally like a male sexual fantasy is somehow actually feminist and empowering, and think making up any ridiculous reason will somehow cover up the reality. No one would care this much if they were just honest they want to gawk at young, hot women, but maybe admitting your “empowering and feminist” series is actually only about how a man should basically control and consume a woman for his emotional and physical needs while she’s no more than his borderline underage sex prize with no life, goals, or relationships outside of him doesn’t exactly align with the marketing.
2. You know why stuff like PJO, Disney, and HADES isnt as critiqued as LO? It's because they're either all stuff that's more suitable for children or a grinding video game, but none of them claim to be an accurate retelling of the mythology (arguably PJO is the most accurate beyond the demikid stuff) but LO is trying to be for older readers and claims it IS accurate to the mythology, so when it fails doing so that's when it opens itself to massive critique. It's really not hard to get why this is.
3. lo hades def looks like rachel tried to make a Tumblr Sexy Man™️ without realizing the whole point to those characters is that people latched onto them bc they're often unhinged villainous weirdos with zero game and not overly confident capitalists who lust after barely legal young woman with a forced sob story about how his dick is broken. hes the exact opposite of a tumblr sexy man. he is anti sexy. even tfreaking he onceler figured out capitalism is bad at the end.
4. This new Canvas webtoon called P**** popped up, and I dunno if it’s just me but it gives me serious Lore Olympus vibes? Celestial beings with abnormal skin and hair color, huge height and age difference between ML and FL, ML is an old guy with a weird pointy nose and ending a relationship with a beautiful yet “petty and selfish” woman, ML not shown negatively for cheating, FL insecure with (hinted at) parental and abusive relationship issues, FL lead working at ML company, ML and FL meeting accidentally when one is drunk… are these just tropes or do you think it‘s an intentional rip off?
From OP: I censored the webtoon name so if you know, you know. But yeah, me and some other antis saw this and also thought it was way too similar to LO. The creator claims it’s not inspired by LO but I don’t buy it. Especially since in one of the character sheets, her ML’s image looked like it was traced/heavily referenced from one of the LO Hades’ panels.
5. i literally do not care whats happening in this comic. i just want to know how artemis' cat and murder wolf is doing. where is cerberus, wheres that one puppy persephone got then forgot about after all of an hour. i only care abut the pets.
6. if persephone buds off a kid or they adopt baby dionysus or smth the actual issue will be persephone will care more for the kid because just going off how he treated thanatos hades literally does not give a damn about any child in his care, especially if theyre not related to him. he at best is ok with hebe but thats because shes a mini hera. maybe if the budded off kid is a mini persephone clone it'll be fine but im not holding out for that. rachel is p clear he only wants mini hades so 🤷‍♀️
7. idk how anyone is shocked rachel's fancast as almost entirely white people. only white people would bemoan theyre the real oppressed ones while they have all the money and power, abuse anyone below them, only care for the "good" people in the lower class/races, corrupt the politics and justice system in their favor only while the rest get worse punishment for less, get away with murder, and own literal slaves. like that screams white people 💀
8. I have the impression that RS doesn't have an actual plot for the story, she has an obvious ending but no plot
9. am i reading this wrong or is it true the second lo book only covers 26 to 49, so 23 episodes down from 25? are they seriously going to milk this until its at best two episodes per book? the further it goes on the episodes only get shorter too, how exactly does that work to put LESS content in?
From OP: I don’t think it’ll get that bad. Also, not going to 50 was a good move in this case. The book will leave off on the eye thing which is a good ending point tbh (Episode 50 is a pretty big cliffhanger).
10. the stans need to get over the idea popularity =/= good. its very easy to made mediocre products makes sales/get high readership when it has a huge marketing campaign behind it. thats why when they actually out big marketing into other comics (like everything is fine and boyfriends) they also pop off in popularity. ask any random LO reader and they'll likely tell you they only found out about it via a Youtube/Instagram/TikTok ad. it's really not /that/ hard to put two and two together here.

Chapter: Gwangju
Tumblr media
//Gong Yoo (Kim Shin) x you
Summary: To atone for his sins he is forced to wander the Earth searching for her before it’s too late.
Prologue: Silla Goryeo Joseon Tamna March 1st
It's been three years since I updated this last. Exactly three years and 9 days, and I'm glad to be posting it. God it’s been so long I no longer remember how I used to format my entries. I don’t even remember my tagging system. A word of warning: modern Korean history is heavily marked with suffering and for the purposes of this story I needed "her" to go through... A lot. But there is only one chapter left, so hopefully, we won't be suffering a lot longer.
***
It was obvious to him that she was going to be reborn immediately. It worked like that for centuries, why this time it would have been different? So he started searching for her immediately, anxious. His land was crying, his people were suffering.
Forests were being cut down to fuel the new age, the industrialization age. Instead, the land was being converted into fields: rice, cereals, cotton. Colonizers were laying new roads, tarmac was flowing down the peninsula so similarly to cold mountain streams. All to fuel the new age, all to feed the great Japanese Empire.
Mines on the peninsula were running day and night, long shafts filled with exploited bodies. Names were being changed to Japanese sounding ones, men were forced to cut their hair, celibate Buddhist monks were forced to marry, kids were banned from learning Korean in schools, papers were censored, farmers forced out of their lands, his people were forced to worship Shinto, and to see the Emperor as a god.
Shamanistic rituals were even scarcer than during the reign of the Lee dynasty. People were no longer openly calling for him, but their thoughts thrown into the ether were reaching him. Pleas and begging, prayers and threats, all were filling his mind and heart. The burden was heavy. Not too heavy to carry, but it seemed harder than the sword he was carrying in his heart. It seemed heavier than the last memories of his other life, than the image of red on white stone.
She found her. Young girl in the seaside village, barely 20 kilometers north from the village where she was born as Binna, centuries ago. The village tree was still alive even if the village itself didn’t exist anymore. Kim Shin didn’t know what happened to it after he saw her sacrifice herself back then. Were it pirates, or wars, or famine that drew people out? There was no way of knowing it.
She was four when he found her. Back in Joseon she would have been found just in time, he’d have two years to convince her parents not to give her away. And then 11 years until she had to be wed. Her village was far off the beaten path. It was far from the capital and far from Japanese shores. People were hardened and down-to-earth but it was a tightly knit community. It was as safe as it could have been in that age and time.
Kim Shin spent his days under the Holy Tree, now surrounded by forest. He remembered the village square and colorful ribbons. He remembered tax collectors and their cart. He remembered Binna’s clothes and hair, and sword splitting her throat open.
Kim Shin visited her house by night. He hid in the shadows, not ready to be seen by her nor her parents. He watched her as she slept in the same room as the rest of her family. He watched her wondering what woman she would grow up to be. He hoped that he’d be able to shield her from any hardship that she was destined to face in her life.
While watching her sleep, he was reminiscing about her previous lives. Her bravery, her tenacity, her pride and her selflessness. The lives that were lived and ended for his people, the lives that were ended for him, the ones that were ended because of him.
Kim Shin was restless. He was used to waiting. He learnt to be patient after centuries of waiting and slowly working towards his goal. And yet, he was restless. Sitting by the Holy Tree he was restless and anxious. Her last life was sacrificed for the country. For this land, and for the people. And here he was waiting idly for her to grow up. She was safe.
The Holy Tree was old but strong, with new springs and bright green leaves. It was magnificent even without ribbons and paper talismans. It was safe, far off the beaten path.
Their people were not.
And yet, he was idly waiting for her to grow up and take away his burden, while sitting under the Holy Tree.
While their people were desperately begging for help.
She was safe. And he had time. He had enough time to present her the liberation of their people as a wedding gift.
And thus, Kim Shin was off once more.
*
Koreans were fighting on the peninsula, yes, but there were fighting abroad as well. Kim Shin supported the Provisional  Government of Republic of Korea in Shanghai, and aided students in Japan. When the empire invaded Manchuria, he was there fighting them off. He pleaded and negotiated with Chinese diplomats for them to move against the assailant before it was too late.
But the Central Kingdom waited too long, they were undecided way beyond what was safe. And thus, the Japanese attacked first.
The war that broke out drained the Korean peninsula even more. They were the ones to bear the brunt of feeding and supplying soldiers. And then, when Kim Shin was sure it couldn’t be worse, European war came to their lands, merging with the already raging Sino-Japanese conflict and bringing more players, more arms and more death into the equation. His people were forced into the Japanese army, forced to fight far away from their home – living and dying in China, Indonesia, Philippines.
He went where they were. It wasn’t their fight. They were farmers, artisans, teachers, workers – they weren’t warriors. He was. Kim Shin was back in the field, once more fighting for his homeland. Once more he took upon himself to be the most faithful agent of death. Immortal and determined, with unfamiliar weapon in his hand, but oh so familiar scent of blood, tears and fear clinging to him. The art of war changed through centuries but principles reminded the same.
But now it was harder to understand the purpose. It was harder to face dying foes. Every soul in his wake had hopes, and dreams, and dedication, and destiny – and yet he was invading the realm of the Divine, deciding who was to live and who was to day. What he did was to slaughter.
But he was also fighting for his compatriots, forced to lay their lives for the occupant. He fought to save them and to bring them back to their land. He helped them escape, he cleared camps, he dealt with Japanese officers.
Japanese defeat was what they were hoping for anyway.
It was in Perek that faced his hardest encampment. It was in Perek that among Japanese officers and soldiers, and his people forced into ranks, he found others. It was in Perek that among male voices he heard female pleas.
It was in broad daylight that he marched through the camp, taking in the tents and appraising layouts and main locations. Where to get food, where to get supplies, where were the blind spots. It was in broad daylight that he heard a plea so similar to one he heard centuries ago in the Song Dynasty’s capital. So earnest and so broken plea of death.
After the first one came another, hurried and repeated like a mantra, like a prayer. And another, and another.
And another.
So familiar. So heartbreaking.
Here, so far from his homeland, he heard her begging for death. For an escape.
But she was safe. She was safe back in her village, on the shores of Eastern Seas. She was safe back in her village, so close to the Holy Tree.
And yet, it was her voice, strung thin and wavering, but unmistakably hers.
A taste of bile invaded his throat as he zeroed on a dilapidated building. Better than a shack only in the name, with dark walls and dirty windows barely containing the horrors inside. His surroundings seemed to disappear, sounds of the encampment dying out, the building his focal point.
He took his time. Waiting itself was horrible, pleas constant, it would have been so easy to just end it. End all of it, all of them, all of the oppressors, just raze the  camp to the ground. But he was afraid. Afraid of going inside and seeing that was happening, how they lived. It was easy to guess, and hard to understand. Justified rage was clawing his insides, not only for her, but for all of them. It wasn’t human to do, not that the occupant was ever human.
His fear was their prolonged suffering.
He fulfilled every one of their pleas. Every single one. Some wished for death, some wished for death for their oppressors. Some wished for health, some wished to never remember. Some wished for another chance in life, some wished for one last meeting with assailants and sharp object to meet them with. He did it all.
She wanted a knife. Sharp, and easy to conceal. She found it with glee and fervor. She wanted for her doors to be open and for night to be dark. She wished for rain, heavy and obscuring. She wished for that man to fall. To suffer. To know. To fear. To never forget.
Kim Shin watched her as she sneaked out of her room. He watched her back as she sneaked through the building, chastising himself for ever believing she was safe. It wasn’t even 15 years since he saw her last. He watched her as she found her prey. He watched her as she made sure that man would never do the same thing to another woman ever again.
His screams were muffled by a gag she made out of her sad excuse of a blanket. His blood was mixing with the falling rain, that matted her hair to her face. Her skin was ghostly, blush and looked paper-thin.
Once again he watched her as she raised her blade against herself. She was sure and focused,  and emanating finally found peace. She was quick and efficient, and he barely had time to catch her before she fell down. She was smiling when her head hit the cradle of his head and her open eyes were staring lifelessly at the rainy clouds.
Kim Shin sat there in the rain, holding her body, obvious to now quiet whimpers coming from the man laying a few steps away from him. Once more her life was filled with suffering. Was her childhood good? How did she grow up? How long was she here?
He didn’t cry – feeling like he did not deserve to. She wasn’t the only one of his people that went through this, and something was telling him that there were countless more suffering now.
*
Finding her was important, but making sure that the world she was being born into was better became urgent. Kim Shin knew he couldn’t deal with her suffering. All recent lives he witnessed ended in a tragedy. Queen trying to protect freedom, young girl fighting for it, and the one that saw it in death.
She deserved freedom, all of his people did.
And freedom came with pain, tears and even more death. Foreign powers fought over his land, influencing its growth and stagnation once again. His land was sold and divided even after its occupant lost the war. Both red and blue powers abhorred giving Koreans back their land and their freedoms, forcing their ideologies upon them.
And thus the greatest conflict shook the land once more. June 25th, the day when brother went against his brother. Three years. Three years of fights, civil war raging on the peninsula destroying what was left after 35 years of the occupation.
And even that conflict ended because outside powers decided so. Every death, every lost soul – it was all because foreigners decided to settle their differences right there on Korean soil. The wound left by the war was painful and still suppurating. Peninsula was divided into two, one nation was split and the border between them became a wall that separated families and broke people’s spirit.
He saw fourteen hundred years of conflicts and changes, and ups and downs, but the last hundred years were far the worst he had seen. For the first time in his long life he wasn’t sure how to go about finding her. If he even should. Every time he found her, he lost her just as quickly. She suffered so much.
But if he didn’t search for her, he was sure that the Divine would find another way to punish them. Like giving her knowledge of his existence and urging her to wait for him.
By now Divine schemes were somewhat readable. He’d find her where he’d least expect her – where she was supposedly the safest, yet in the biggest danger. People in the south were struggling, famine and corruption was rampant. North was getting help from other communist states and plotting expansion. And he couldn’t find her.
Just like when he found her on Tamna, she wasn’t here. She wasn’t within the borders of both Korean states. And that’s what horrified him. He looked in China, so many of his compatriots lived there. He looked in Japan among those who stayed after occupation. He searched in South East Asia among those who stayed after the second world war. He visited the United States of America, hoping to find her there. And yet, as if the Divine was shielding her from him, he couldn’t find her.
In Germany he saw the Wall. The Berlin Wall dividing one nation into two. The blue state and red state, just like his homeland, was divided. The Wall was fresh and imposing, newly built. A palpable sign of schism. A knife in a wound, cutting it more open with every breath. It wasn’t as protected as the inter-Korean border was but it served as a reminder of similarly painful division.
As Kim Shin walked by the Wall, on the western side of the border, he heard a cautious ask. Barely audible, fleeting.
The person was asking for a haircut. If he wasn’t over fourteen hundred years old, he’d dismiss it as an auditory illusion. What would be a Korean doing behind the Iron Curtain – asking for a haircut?
Kim Shin knew better. Kim Shin knew: she was there.
*
Finding his way into the USSR was easier than he thought it to be. As a citizen of the communist, neighboring nation, he was more than welcome. He travelled from Korea, surprised by the sheer numbers of Koreans on the USSR's eastern lands. But the closer he got to Europe the fewer they got. By the time he left Moscow, his head was clear and free of usual prayers. It was in Poland that he heard one more plea – a different voice, exactly the same ask.
Children. Who Kim Shin found were children. From 5 years old to 16. War orphans being cared for by people so vastly different from them.
She was among them, one of the oldest kids, happily chatting in weirdly hard language.
It took him quite long to understand why all the kids kept praying for a haircut. Their hair was neatly kept, just like their clothes, their rooms. There was something of military efficiency in the way they were being brought up, and Kim Shin understood that it was due to a few Korean supervisors that came here with kids.
Kids were cared for, but not exactly loved. That’s why they thought so fondly of getting haircuts. Hairdressers would pat and massage their heads – that was an extent of warmth they were getting.
*
She and the rest of the kids were sent back to Korea a few months later. She drowned in a river when she tried to escape back to her European orphanage for the third time. Yalu River was her undoing, just like those centuries ago cold waters of the sea took her away.
So much death. So much suffering. What for?
As the North's situation was getting worse, the South started fighting for its economy. Authoritarian governments in both Koreas were similar in goals but different in execution, and slowly their fates were changing. South Korea was coming out of poverty, just as North Korea started spiraling into it.
With newly found resources South Koreans were finally able to think and want – and what they wanted was freedom. Freedom through free choice and democracy. Assassination of general Park, southern dictator, seemed like a perfect opportunity – but before democratic movement could raise its momentum it was brutally squashed.
***
“If we all go, they won’t be able to hold him! We need to get him out!”
Every frantic sentence is met with loud approval. You weren’t surprised when they formed a new government without looking back at people. You weren’t surprised when Chun Doohwan took over KCIA while still holding his position in the Korean Army. Of course he would. Even martial law wasn’t a surprise. But a few hours ago you heard that they arrested Kim Daejung.
Kim was an oppositionist. He was fighting for democracy in your country, and what was more important he was from your region. Rumors said that he was being held on charges of instigating demonstrations.
What a bull…
You were there all because you wanted to be there, and wanted better for your country.
“They are closing the university!” The shout could be heard above the other voices. Suddenly the thirty of you fell silent. You focused on the man that shouted it. You knew his face, you might have seen him once or twice in the library.
“What…?”
“Chun declared universities to be dangerous to society!” The roar that follows is deafening. There is no more “inciting”, all of you immediately walk to the university, gathering other students while marching.
The road leading to the main entrance is long, which gives you a perfect view of army vehicles parked in front of it. Soldiers organizing were also visible, moving with purpose or watching you with caution.  Your group wasn’t big. Maybe two hundred souls. You weren’t sure what was the plan – but the goal was clear – to show that you wouldn’t take it lying down. They couldn’t take it all. Freedom, Kim Daejung, universities.
You weren’t sure who threw the first stone. It was all a blur. There was shouting, screams and orders, flying stones and falling batons. The students’ group dispersed only to form back, and to scatter once more but this time closer to the Provincial Office.
This time soldiers were wearing riot gear.
*
“You know well that I am going back out there!”
Your mother's eyes are filled with tension. The same tension pushes her lips into a thin line drawing her wrinkles out. She won’t back down, but neither will your brother and you.
“Mom, it’s what we have to do. They killed Gyeongcheol,” says Chanhwan. He is a high school senior and his goal was to get into your university.
“His poor mother,” whispers your mother as if against herself. That was something she said every time this was mentioned. Soldiers in riot gear killed Kim Gyeongcheol as he was passing by protesters. It infuriated the city and their protest was gathering momentum, but every person counted.
They needed to pay. For Gyeongcheol and for those who were killed yesterday.
What you wouldn’t tell your mother is the fact that you got guns. Yesterday you raided one of the military warehouses. It wasn’t an usual protest anymore, it was an uprising. Chanhwan told you that he heard that folks were talking about liberating Gwangju and making it into a free city. An official request for help was being drafted to be sent to the US Embassy. A country so enamored with freedom would for sure help you.
Freedom.
That’s what you longed for.
A horn outside let you know that your transport was there. Chanhwan was already out the doors, you stalled a second to grab your mother’s hand.
“Believe in us, mom. We will be back, victorious,” you said with emphasis. The world was yours to take and you wouldn’t hesitate. You run outside, not waiting for her to answer, and jump into the waiting taxi.
What an odd vehicle to be driving to a fight.
*
City was cordoned off and outside communications were cut. It didn’t scare you off. Nothing could, really.
Taxi was slowly rolling down the street, Chanhwan laying low in the driver's seat. He knew that as soon as he raised his head, he’d be dead. You knew that there were forces on the other end of the street aiming at you with their guns, hidden behind covers.
You and Chanhwan’s friend Sunwoo were slowly creeping along the car, using it as a moving shield. You could see a body that you were tasked with retrieving. You hoped the girl was alive. You all knew that not moving after being shot increased your chances of surviving if you couldn’t move on your own.
Suddenly you heard a loud bang and sounds of automatic fire.
“Run!” yelled Chanhwan and you didn’t need to be told twice. With Sunwoo you lurched forward trying to match Chanhwan’s accelerations. You kept your head low as smoke filled the street. Sunwoo was the first to reach the body.
Dead.
Boy opened back doors and together you pushed the lifeless body inside – not caring for decency you jumped inside as Sunwoo closed doors behind you. You heard him get in and Chanhwan was speeding off.
Girl’s hair smelt of flowers.
*
A helicopter was flying overhead. You’ve never would have guessed that you’d learn how to make Molotov’s cocktail. But there you were pushing a rag into a bottle. Sunwoo was in the field hospital, chances of saving his leg quite high. Which was more than could be said about many of your friends.
Casualties were high, but you weren’t ready to give up. The uprising cost the city too many lives to be so easily abandoned.
How could your government do that? You didn’t know. But you hoped for those soldiers to spend the rest of their lives knowing that they killed their own.
Chanhwan was on the other side of the street, giving you signs. You focused on him and he started slowly counting down with his fingers. As soon as you saw him countdown to zero, you threw your bottle.
There was an explosion and a sudden yell. You didn’t stay put to see the effect, you needed to escape as fast as possible. On your left you could see a group of fifteen or so students running the other way. There were fires and smoke and it could be hard to realize what was happening.
You lost your footing as you realized that Chanhwan was not running parallel to you. It seemed like eternity as you looked back to see him lying on the corner of the street. You could see his dark uniform jacket slowly dampening with even darker liquid.
It wasn’t conscious. Nor your scream, nor your leap.
The first bullet going through your arm was more surprising than painful. Second one caught your leg, tripping you down, the third one pierced through your clavicle as you fell. You saw smoke, and soldiers moving forward with riot shields, and your brother laying on the street, and an abandoned taxi. You saw another group of students running somewhere to your right.
Pavement was hot from the sun as you fell down. It didn’t hurt, or maybe it was so painful that you couldn’t feel it.
You saw a blue butterfly flying away.
***
Kim Shin forced his way into the fighting city. Through fields and through the army, he walked into the fray. No one knew. A village ten kilometers away? No one knew what was happening in the city. There were rumors, but not one could have prepared him for the riots he saw.
He saw students organizing, he saw local militias forming, he saw field hospitals being erected, he saw taxi and bus drivers using their vehicles to help the cause.
Had he done everything he could? No. Was it resignation? Maybe.
How many times had he seen her fighting? Why every time he saw her she was either suffering or leading a good fight. Why was she always selfless, and always right in the center of a turmoil ailing his nation. Just once couldn’t she be selfish and live?
Seeing her protest against authoritarian government barely half a century after she did the same against occupation filled him with unfamiliar annoyance. Rage. Why her. What did she do to be always reincarnated into such circumstances.
Was it even worth pursuing her?
Was it his atonement for not killing his king eons ago, even when she sacrificed herself. Was she destined to be laying her life for a cause while he watched her do it?
Defiance. That was what stopped him from acting. He could have gone on a rampage. Just like when he was a general, fighting with Gaya’s warriors. It wouldn’t have been hard, decimating troops. Those already stationed in the city, and those that would undoubtedly come to reinforce them.
He felt old. He was old. Looking at the fighting city he felt like it wasn’t his fight.
In the city he saw a foreigner. A foreigner with a camera. Documenting what was happening, what atrocities were committed on Gwangju’s streets.
Instead of watching her die once again he decided to protect the foreigner. To make sure that his recordings would be seen by the world.
As Kim Shin protected the foreigner, he didn’t realize that he could no longer hear prayers.

So what if women get hurt as long as League One can show off how “progressive” they are?
An Australian amateur football league is receiving backlash from parents and players who are voicing frustrations after learning that a man who identifies as a woman has been dominating the female soccer league and injuring female players.
Football New South Wales’ League One reportedly has five trans-identified male players, but one player in particular has led the 1st Grade goal kickers table, with seven goals.
Initial reports from The Daily Mail Australia had chosen not to identify the player, censoring images of him and declining to provide his name. However, Reduxx can confirm the player is trans activist YouTuber Riley J. Dennis.
Tumblr media
It has been alleged that Dennis, 30, who reportedly plays for Inter Lions FC, injured women from an opposing side in a match last weekend. Reports that a female player had to seek hospital attention as a result of her injury are as of yet unconfirmed.
Football NSW appears to have scrubbed Dennis from their website, replacing his name with “Inter Player,” due to the backlash they have received, but screenshots from the past iterations of the site exist, showing where Dennis was clearly anonymized.
Tumblr media
On Facebook, some football fans have taken to their platforms to support the female athletes competing against Dennis, condemning Inter Lions FC for allowing Dennis to play amongst women.
“Biological adult males and it’s not just one, it is several, are playing in NSW women’s state league competitions, which contain teenage girls and young women. Shame on those clubs, who have discarded any morals they might have had, just to sign these things, so as to be able to win, where’s the dignity? You put winning above respect for the competition,” the NSW NPL Banter Page wrote in a post today.
Women’s rights groups are similarly condemning Football NSW for placing female players in harm’s way.
Kirralie Smith, a spokeswomen from Binary Australia, a organization set up to combat gender ideology, condemned the football league in a statement to Daily Mail.
“Football NSW has failed to answer the simple questions, ‘What is a woman?’ and ‘Why have a woman’s division if men can play in it.’ They have failed in safeguarding fairness and safety for girls and women.”
Binary Australia are said to have organized a complaint-writing campaign to Football NSW, which reportedly received over 12,000 submissions.
Riley Dennis was a popular trans activist YouTuber who has 113,000 subscribers. He has since stopped creating content but, during the height of his internet career, he received backlash for a controversial video in which he called “genital preferences” transphobic.
The video, titled Your Dating ‘Preferences’ Might Be Discriminatory and released in 2017, prompted outrage from lesbians who felt Dennis was attempting to guilt them into having sexual relationships with males.
In the video, Dennis, who identifies as a “transgender lesbian,” implied that sexual orientation is caused by societal prejudices and that it is discriminatory to exclude members of the opposite sex from your dating preferences if you are homosexual. Dennis deleted the video following widespread criticism.
Addressing the backlash Dennis said: “These accusations of homophobia make it sound like I’m trying to convince lesbians to like men, but I’m not. I’m trying to show that preferences for women with vaginas over women with penises might be partially informed by the influence of a cissexist society.”
Dennis was also a writer for the self-described “feminist” publication Everyday Feminism where he has published pieces such as “Here’s Why Misgendering Trans People Is an Act of Violence” and “Some Children Are Transgender – 5 Explanations for Why That’s Perfectly Okay.”
After his controversial 2017 video, a petition was launched calling for him to be removed as a writer from Everyday Feminism. The petition gained 1,389 signatures.
“We, the ‘exclusionary’ and ‘discriminatory’ homosexuals and heterosexuals, want to see homophobic and rapist rhetoric such as this removed from the Everyday Feminism platform,” the petition announced. “We want people like Riley to consider that our preferences (read: sexualities) are innate and not up for challenge. We want Riley J. Dennis dropped from the Everyday Feminism team.”
Dennis stopped creating content shortly after and relocated to Australia from the United States to live with his Australian fiancée, Fiona also known as neonfiona.
Tumblr media
Women’s athletic competitions and fairness in sport have become a major issue in the debate on gender ideology and its impact on women.
The issue mounted to public attention after a trans-identified male swimmer, Lia Thomas, began breaking women’s records and winning medals intended for female athletes in 2021. Since then, there have been several instances of trans-identified male athletes taking the podium in women’s sporting events.
Most recently, Reduxx reported on the case of a 50-year-old trans-identified male runner who seized his eighth championship title in a women’s category after smashing the competition at the Italian Indoor Masters Championship in Ancona on March 12. Valentina Petrillo had broken multiple women’s running records in Italy, but had failed to earn even a single title when competing as a male.
Despite a global trend of males dominating women’s sport, there has been ample pushback from athletes, activists, and coaches concerned with fairness.
On February 28, a young women’s basketball team made international headlines after withdrawing from their state tournament in protest of a trans-identified male being on the opposing team. The Mid Vermont Christian School Eagles (MVCS) forfeited their playoff game against the Long Trail School Mountain Lions (LTS) after learning that LTS star player Rose Johnson is male, and have since been banned from participating in state competitions.
Earlier this week, a male powerlifting coach’s protest against “trans inclusive” powerlifting policies in Canada went viral after he entered a women’s competition and smashed the women’s benchpress record.
Tumblr media
Avi Silverberg, a powerlifting coach who has worked with Team Canada, self-identified as a woman last week to participate in the women’s category at the Heroes Classic Powerlifting Meet held in Lethbridge, Alberta. Silverberg was attempting to highlight the unfair advantage males have when competing in women’s athletics. While participating in the Saturday event, Silverberg unofficially broke the Alberta women’s bench press record for the 84+ kilograms category.
Silverberg performed the defiant act while the current record holder, a trans-identified male, was in attendance.
As a response to the backlash against Dennis participating in the women’s leagues, Football NSW have released a statement on their transgender inclusion policy, writing on their website that they would expedite the development of transgender sports teams but would also introduce LGBTQI training.
“To support the inclusion of transgender and gender-diverse people in Football, Football Australia has initiated the development process for a High Performance Inclusion Policy, specifically balancing the needs and inclusion of transgender and gender-diverse people in the sport, whilst ensuring we maintain the integrity of elite competitive football.”

"I've only been in New York City for 15 hours, Xuejiao. And it's huge! I don't know these streets you're telling me!" You shout, ignoring the side-eyes from the passerby city slickers that give New York it’s bad stereotype.
"You're going down 96th Street right? I told you to keep going down. It's a long a.ss street. You'll find the campus eventually- look for the dome!"
The connection breaks as Xuejiao finishes the call, "I gotta go now, I’m trying to get in my astrology professor’s pants after class!" The line goes silent and you huff, opening up GPS to lead you down the forsaken 96th Street. Distracted with directions, some guy crashes into you with his bike.
"What the hell!? Watch where you're going!" You yell picking up your fallen bag- which scattered all of my weeaboo s.hit.
"Maybe if you didn't stand in the middle of the street, you wouldn't have wrecked my bike! You're lucky you didn't get killed by a real car!" You looked up at the ignorant voice and found a young, orange-haired Asian boy. Maybe Chinese, like me?
"I wrecked your bike!? You're really unbelievable.." You placed everything back into the bag and took out your wallet. "Look, I don't have time for this. I'm sorry for damaging your tricycle, or whatever- here." You threw a fully punched Xing Fu Tang loyalty card at the kid’s dumbfounded face and walked off.
It's 9:57 AM, your o-chem class starts at 10 and you still can't find the campus. Why did my parents even make me leave Hong Kong? Because of the government, the pollution? Both countries are f.ucked. I choke there and I choke here.
Finally, I'm here.
You ran to the STEM building and up the stairs to land in a spacious lab room. You hurried to an empty seat near the top row. 9:59 AM.. Thank goodness.
In the midst of the lesson, the door opened to reveal the same clumsy jerk you had encountered a few minutes ago. He rushed to an empty seat, you going unnoticed by him.
Your first 50 minutes of college went by pretty quick. Nothing more than a syllabus review and a small question/answer session.
"I know it is the first day, but you are all in big kid school now, so I am assigning a semester project you will work on for all of this first term with a partner." Each array of your peers groaned at this announcement.
"You will use your knowledge from high school chemistry or an equivalent to complete it." The professor continued, "I will choose your partners and you are both expected to be responsible with it all semester."
"Remember your partner's name so that when I'm done, you can come down to get each other's contact information."
"Man Wol and Ji An.. Ha Jin and Hae Soo.."
The professor continued to call out names as you were caught up in texting Xuejiao about the kid who crashed into you earlier this morning being in your class, only half listening until you heard your name being called.
“Y/N and Yangyang.." Did I miss a racist joke or something? What the hell is a Yang Yang?
You kept texting Xuejiao, deciding to deal with it after class.
"I know it's a lot to take in on the first day, but on the bright side, you don't have to do the project," Some idiots celebrated, "but know that I will judge you harshly on it and I will be teaching at an Ivy League while you get kicked out of an Ivy League, never achieving your dreams." He fakes a sad face and the same idiots fuss.
"Now come meet your partners and have a good rest of your first day!" Your first professor dismissed the first class.
You put your phone in your pocket and stumbled to the bottom of the classroom, calling out for "Yangyang," the name feeling awkward as it rolled off your tongue.
"That's me." You spun around and were met with the trike guy from earlier.
"IT'S YOU!" You exclaimed in unison with him, the space between you two silencing for a second, before you spoke again.
"Oh my God I can't believe I got such a d!ck as a partner." You rolled your eyes with crossed arms.
"Hey! It takes two to d!ck!" Yangyang argues back. You stared at the fellow Asian boy in disgust and dismay.
"What the f.uck!?"
Both of you suddenly broke down laughing, your huddled classmates peeking at you with judgemental stares.
Yangyang calmed down and talked more comfortably with you, "Thanks for the boba by the way. I drank it deliciously.. before I dropped it because I crashed again."
"That's what you get for being a pr!ck to me." You scoffed.
"Oh baby that wasn't being a pr!ck. That was simply getting you warmed up to want me." He tapped your chin to bop your head back while giving a creepy stare.
...
"You're a f.ucking crazy person."
"Like it or not, Mulan, you're stuck with me for an entire semester." He stuck his tongue out at you.
"Mulan?" You questioned.
"Yeah. You're a Chinese b!tch, right?" You glared at him, but had to nod ‘yes’ anyway.
"Cool. I'm Taiwanese.. I need to get to the other side of campus so give me your number so we can work out the details on the project. You wanna meet up at the library tonight?" You agreed and gave him your number.
"Great. See you tonight, Mulan." He winked and jumped out of the room.
Shaking your head at the ironic situation, you walked to the next class with a little over 10 minutes to spare, so you stopped for coffee at the Starbucks on campus.
The shop was pretty small and there weren't a lot of people inside. As you were about to enter, another Asian boy held the door open. "Thank you." You smiled, bowing your head in gratitude.
"Anything for a girl with such a charming smile. Can I buy you a coffee?" He asked.
"No, that's ok!" You replied, not wanting to inconvenience this guy- and besides, he might just be trying to get in my pants.
"Please I insist! Get anything you want!" You decided to take his offer because in the end, it’s free coffee. He was also pretty charming himself, and seemingly harmless.
"Could I get an iced Americano, please?" You ordered. "I'll have the same." The boy told the barista.
You both stood to the side of the bar, talking while the identical drinks were being made. "Thank you for paying, you really didn't have to." "No no it's really fine. I wanted to.. I'm Dejun Xiao by the way, I think I'm in your chemistry class. What's your name?"
"I'm Y/N." "Oh are you Chinese!?" You nodded. "I'm Chinese as well. Are you from China?" "I'm from Hong Kong." "That's so cool! I'm from Guangdong." "Oh nice, nice.." The drinks were handed to you and you walked out together, strolling into the center of the campus.
"What class do you have next?" Dejun asked, sipping at his coffee. You took out a crumpled paper to examine the schedule printed on it. "I have biochem next." "Oh we have the same class!" Dejun announced. "That's crazy! Are you premed?" You asked him. "No, I'm studying forensic science. I want to be a homicide detective.”
Wow this guy is impressive. "Wow, that's awesome.. I want to be a heart surgeon.”
“That’s so cool!” "Thank you." You laughed at his energy. The two of you walked in the direction of your next shared class, conversing and giggling with each other along the way.
You reached your next classroom and found empty seats next to one another. “You can call me Xiaojun, by the way. I think it’s cooler than Dejun.”
“If you have to say your name is cool, then it’s not cool.” Another Asian man walked up to your row.
"Hey man! You're in here, too?" Xiaojun asked. "Yeah! It was a lucky draw." Xiaojun then motioned over to you, "This is Y/N. She's my new.. friend?" He smiled at you, looking for confirmation. Returning his smile, "Yes I am. Nice to meet you." The other male shook your hand and introduced himself. "Nice to meet you, too. I'm Kun."
"She's from China, like us!" Kun was surprised. "Really? Why did you come to America?" "My parents made me." You shrugged. "Wow mine did, too." Kun chuckled and sat down in the row of you and Xiaojun.
I left China, but China came to me. Maybe this year is destined to be good..
To be continued…

Everything below the cut. I’m serious when I say it’s long.
Loki x Sigyn (Logyn)
Incredibles AU:  Sigyn is a superhero and Loki is her sworn arch nemesis.  They’re flirted, fought, and occasionally teamed up to take on bigger threats. But, when an act passes forcing all superheroes to go into hiding, Loki finds it’s not fun being a villian without a hero. He finds Sigyn and the pair of them eventually fall in love, get married, and settle down with a couple of kids.  But even if Loki can’t deny the happiness his new life brings him, are part of him longs for the adventure and excitement of yesteryear.  He’s given an opportunity when a package arrives asking him for his “unique insight” on an upcoming project.  How can he resist?
Look, I just want an opportunity to write them both as parents and also have some awkward PTA meetings between him and Sigyn’s fellow hero co-workers.
Just a big ol’ Hunger Games AU that I literally forgot about until just now: Start of the revolution against President Doom lead by survivors of the Hunger Games with Steve Rogers and their new symbol. It’s just two random kids in this universe not one boy one girl.
Tony Stark: Stark is a favorite of the capitol and builds a lot of their tech.  He was taken into the games at 15. During the games he was blasted with some shrapnel and had to hide out in a cave.  There he met Yinsen and he took pity on Tony.  He helped Tony build a makeshift arch reactor to survive the games. Yinsen was killed and Tony survived by inventing weapons and blasting his way out.
Bruce Banner: Bruce is more of a hermit to the public eye, but still close friends with Tony.  He was forced into the games at 13.  Starting out as a rather timid and quiet boy he spent most of the game simply trying to stay out of everyone’s way, hiding in caves, trees and so on.  It came down to the last handful of kids and none of them were particularly motivated to kill the others since all of them had done what Bruce had done and hid.  To spice things up the game masters sprayed aggression toxin into the air.  All the kids were susceptible to it, but Bruce was the worst.  He ended up killing all the kids himself with his bare hands. Although the toxins did wear off Bruce still fears that anger inside of himself.  He suffers from PTSD and when he is angry he does become violent.
Thor Odinson: Thor is another one of the capitols darlings.  He and Loki entered the games together during an anniversary game in which if one was chosen and had a sibling that sibling must enter the game as well if they are at age. If by the end of the game both siblings are left standing, they can both live.  He was 16 at the time.  Thor relied on his strength with his preferred weapon being a large hammer. He was also one to form alliances with other members while Loki remained wary.  In the end there was Thor, Loki, and two other members of their alliance. Thor wanted to be fair and give the two other survivors a chance.  Loki took the opportunity to poison the water they stole from him and Thor in the night. Thor was at first disgusted with what his brother did, but over the years accepted that Loki did it to save both of them.
Loki Odinson: Along with Thor he is a capitol favorite.  While Thor plays up the honorable warrior persona, Loki relies on the charming scoundrel. He entered the games with his brother at 15.  Loki relied heavily on his wits and traps to survive.  Once the alliance was broken he knew the other team would not kill him and Thor in their sleep, but they would steal some of their supplies.  Loki made sure to leave food and water in the open for them to take, all of it poisoned.  He does not regret anything he did in the games since it lead to Thor and his survival. What he hasn’t told Thor, or anyone, was that he knew that if Thor got in his way of living, he would have let Thor die.
Natasha Romanov: Game master for the reunion Hunger Games, Natasha is actually working for the rebellion as a double agent.
Clint Barton: He is one of the less praised winners; he makes less of a secret in his distaste with the capitol.  He doesn’t have any family for the capitol to threaten, so he sometimes says things he shouldn’t.  Clint entered the games when he was 14.  His brother Barney was chosen as well.  For most of the games Barney watched after Clint, both of them were skilled archers and shot at opponents from the trees.  Towards the end of the game Barney went down to get some food while Clint waited for him.  Barney was captured and tortured by some of the other kids to find out where Clint was, but he didn’t spill.  That night Clint heard a boom in the sky and he woke up to see that Barney was dead. Clint spent the rest of the games looking for the rest of the kids and killed them all.  Clint is more than ready to fight the capitol and shows it enough for people to catch on it, but not enough for the capitol to kill him.
Juliet Holden: Juliet remains out of the public eye if she can avoid it and spends as much time as she can with her family. She was forced into the games at 17 along with a girl named Beth who as 16.  They stuck together throughout the games.  Juliet used more hand to hand combat and hiding while Beth was more of an inventor.  During an attack Juliet got shocked and Beth helped her through it.  Juliet got out alright, but she lost a lot of her pain censors meaning she could take a hit longer.  Beth took inspiration and made some make shift gloves that could shock opponents to death.  Beth was eventually killed leaving Juliet the winner.  Juliet still feels survivor’s guilt about Beth since she was the smarter one between the two of them.  She hates the capitol with a burning passion, but unlike Clint has a very large family she needs to protect and care for.
Sigyn Odinson: Wife to Loki, their wedding was shown throughout the capitol making Sigyn as much as a capitol darling as Loki.  This was planned by both Loki and Thor to keep Sigyn and Jane safe.  If they were capitol favorites the capitol would be less likely to hurt either of them.  As a result she became one of the few non-winners to be invited to the capitol. She knows how to be charming and play the role of the dutiful wife.  Unfortunately with this new found confidence Thor started speaking more freely his dislike of the capitol.  President Doom knew he couldn’t hurt Thor or Loki or their wives so he turned to their children.  Jane couldn’t have kids so Loki and Sigyn’s children were forced into the games. Both boys died leaving Sigyn devastated. She no longer went to the capitol with Loki and was an adamant planner in taking down the capitol.

Sera is going off the college and her adopted brother Cassian and his best friend Kay are helping her move across country.
Along the way they spot a woman having trouble with her car and offer her a ride to the nearest gas station to call a tow. The woman reveals herself to be Jyn Erso.  She’s going cross country to meet her father who she hadn’t seen since she was about eight. When she calls the tow they say they can’t get if fixed for a few days.  Sera then offers for her to join them on the trip since they’re going in the same direction.  Jyn agrees and they’re off.
They travel for about a day when the car breaks down and they have to get it fixed.  They go to a local mechanic where Bodhi is working.  As he fixes the car he and Sera strike up a conversation where she tells them where they’re going. Bodhi says that he’s going to the same school she is, transferring from junior college.  Sera then offers that he come with them since she wants to know someone when she gets there and it would be fun.  Cassian begrudgingly agrees since the car isn’t at it’s best and having a mechanic on hand would be helpful.
They travel for another couple of days before eventually reaching a small camp sight.  They had been driving all day and all need some rest.  The nearest motel is miles always so they decide to camp out. Sera pulls what she can out of the car and makes up a camp using her blankets and sheets.  They all have a nice night bonding and fall asleep under the stars.
When they wake up the next morning they find that the car has been stolen and the only things they have left are what they took out of the car the night before.  Luckily, a couple, Baze and Chirrut, overheard they’re plight and offer them to ride in their RV.  Chirrut and Baze are both former priest road tripping across the country to see what they can see.

-----------------
it seems that scene is really REALLY popular by fans,
that it has become a meme....I just had to draw it.
sure I can’t make it into animatic, but this is just as good.
I do plan to post this at the other place I go to.
but I think I will wait until later to do it, maybe a hour or so.
the word “Patty-Cake” seem like a good word to put down.
playing patty-cake can be personal to toons.
so yeah I am using the word as a censor for the real word
that is used and well even if I have only seen little bit of clips,
and seen the animatic crossover of the Captain’s Daughter.
I hope to watch the full movie someday.
as for who the Angel (with demon horns headband on to hide the fact she isn’t a demon.) is in this drawing.
she is suppose to be Devil’s Daughter and King Dice’s Step-Daughter.
and no she doesn’t have a Mom,
and the Devil didn’t just create her on purpose.
ya see when a Soul, even a former Angel like Devil,
they can go through a fragmenting, where a piece of their Soul
will break off from their very being and make what is called
a newborn soul, if there are two souls about to fragment
a part of themselves then the two fragments will merge together,
making the newborn soul that is formed have two Soul-Parents instead of one.
so yes the daughter in this drawing
was born Soul-Asexually.
and I know I said this before
but I will say it again, that the Asexual Reproduction
should not be confused for the Asexual Identity,
even if you only use the word “Asexual”
and could mean one or the other, it is best to be clear so there is no misunderstandings.
speaking of identities, I wonder if it is normal to form
a type of Species Identity?
is it weird the other day ago
I started to think of myself being Demi-Human...?
well with the soul/spiritual heritage I have,
I guess I would still be a Demi-Human either way.
I mean try to hope that me having Vampire heritage was just a prank,
but my pendulum gave another Yes about it,
went Yes again when I asked if my spiritual heritage
is Earth Angel & Succubus.
well spiritual heritage is something you are stuck with for life,
even when you end up being reborn, it will be stuck with you for eternity.
at least I was given a No when I asked if I have werewolf heritage.
but it be cool if it did give me a Yes about that question.
it did give a Yes when I asked if my Older Brother has werewolf heritage, so if I had to guess, if he supposedly has it,
it would most likely be from his dad.
my pendulum did give a Yes when I asked if my Brother
has Vampire heritage too, and another Yes when I asked if it comes from our Mom.
so if my pendulum isn’t pranking,
that would mean that my brother is like Vampire/Werewolf.
well I know I wouldn’t want to go all drinking the same thing as the full vampires....no thank you.
plus I do like garlic sauce and find it really yummy,
and I have a reflection.
well, even if I am some kind of descendant of some unknown vampire
ancestor (unless it is my and Vlad The Impaler’s shared paternal ancestor, who’s two wives make us distant half-cousins.)
that would only be my biological heritage, my vessel form.
like I said the spiritual heritage is something you are stuck with...
for life and eternity.
at least I got permission to go live with the Divine Mother/Goddess
over at Earth-Heaven/Neo-Heaven...
because of what I am, I don’t think I would fit in very well...
I know one thing, if it is true that the 9 Circles of Heck
is in the 5th Heaven, then people might not take it very well.
I think I want to see that as a Fan-Headcanon for Hazbin Hotel.
of course it might only be Fan-Canon to a AU of it.
plus hypothetically let’s say that it is true
that the Circles/Rings of Heck/Hell is in the 5th Heaven,
and is in Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss.
wouldn’t that mean that Charlie doesn’t know that her subjects,
both demon-born and former human/sinner-demon,
are technically already in heaven, they are just in the 5th part of it,
but are inside a type of Ring Prison.
wouldn’t that blow one’s mind if that turned out to be canon.
but I don’t think that would be added into those two shows.
but it would still be good and interest for Fanon-AU use.
some stuff that fans come up and theorize,
wont always be canon to the series and that’s fine.
well Starco ended up becoming 100% Canon.
which I think if things turned out different, Star could of ended up with Tom because of that vote/poll.......pretty sure that had something to do with Star and Marco ending up together in the very end.
also while playing Yandere Simulator the other day,
I had figured out that it is a bad idea to take a ring...
cause if you don’t put it in Osana’s bag
or keep it and then try to leave Akademi,
you will get in big trouble, so if you are trying for a Pacifist Route
and only want to befriend Osana and try to get her to be with Kyuji,
then do NOT take that ring that you will find on the rooftop
next to one of those two purple haired sisters.
I had to start all over because of that, of course I still have the save where I fully beat Osana and it now says that the new rival is Amai.
so right now I have two saves, and in the new save I wanted to try to save Osana’s cat and try to get her and Kyuji together.
so far Kyuji has changed himself to look like Osana’s dream guy,
I just hope me leading him to the library and getting him to study,
had helped....
of course when I did help him talk to Osana while hiding behind a tree,
I had to re-send that letter to Osana and tell her about it again,
because when I was waiting behind the school, she was a bit late.
so yeah I had to leave the place and go and send the letter again
and then I had to tell her about it again.
interesting to know, that before I went to save her cat,
I got the blonde hair dye first (from using Ayano’s computer.)
and then when I ended up at the Stalker’s place,
Ayano’s hair was blonde, so that was fast.
and it was still nighttime in the game too.
I also decided to join the cooking club,
I think if I am a part of the cooking club it might make it more easy
to try to talk to Amai, at least I can only hope it does.
each time I tried to talk to her in my other save,
she just couldn’t and was busy.
in my other save I am in the Music Club.
when I make another save, I want to try to join a different club.
I am taking a bit of a break from playing the game right now,
I will play more of it later.
I do have a theory about Fun-Girl from Yandere Simulator,
I can’t help but think of her being a like Gaster.
I even did a crossover drawing of Fun-Girl and Gaster.
I will post it up on here too, and also post it over at the other place I go to as well.
anyway back to this drawing, it is a crossover
and it is a reference to that 22 Jump Street Movie,
which once again I hope to watch someday.
and yeah Cuphead is holding a cross, for obvious reasons.
Mugman is of course is still thinking and processing
what Snake-Eyes are talking about.
well we know how it will end up,
and Mugman is going to be very amused.
I don’t really feel like drawing that, so it’s fine that it is just this.
the OC in this drawing, in the role of the daughter,
might end up being a one-shot character...
if someone wants to do a continue drawing response to this drawing,
like make a short comic or animation of it, I guess I be okay with it...
but the likely of someone drawing a continue/comic version of this,
is perhaps very little and not likely to happen.
but at least I enjoyed drawing this.
I think sometime I will post a song I wrote a few years ago,
when I was in a very dark place, I was happy to find out that it survived
after what happen in March this year....
it is something I put some very personal feelings down in the song.
also it’s okay that not many agree with me having a species identity,
I mean if I am Aroaceflux, Gyno-Agender and Demi-Human,
then that’s just makes me, well, me.
even if it it did take me time to figure that out.
I just figured out this year on the Month of May,
that I started to see myself as a Demi-Human.
sometime I should draw three flags
that has to do with the Sexuality, Gender and Species Identities.
also I need to point out that I have added a certain site
to my list of Semi-Misanthrope.
first I want to say that I have nothing against Jesus,
but that  Jesus-Is-Savior site.......
it is just....I can’t stand it, Rock’N Roll ain’t evil,
I mean there can be mature rock, but there are different forms of music.
and even if someone is homosexual or homoromantic,
outside the human body and at the core of the soul,
we may appear Masculine or Feminine, but the soul doesn’t have a biological sex/gender, and has no organic binary.
plus if a man did like other man in his present life,
were to be reborn as a woman in his next life and still like men in her new life where she is reborn as a woman,
would that still make her a homosexual...?
I think that truth would kind of make anyone think.
if when I do get reborn, I don’t EVER want my biological body
to be male....I feel more comfortable with the other, and if it takes me time to figure out I am Gyno-Agender in that next life, then it’s fine by me too....
I don’t know if the humans who dislike homosexuals,
really think about the logic that has to do with when a human dies,
if they become reborn into a different bio-gender/sex
they might still be attracted to the guys or gals that they were in their past life.
I hope my explaining about that doesn’t get misinterpreted.
I don’t like when my words end up misunderstood.
well small misunderstandings okay, but when it is big and ends up hurting feelings then that is really not good.
but yeah, I just don’t like the toxic stuff that is going on in that site.
maybe I should try not to worry about it.
right now I am listening to some music,
I’m listening to Agnes’s Don’t Breaking My Heart.
anyway, I’m just gonna hurry and post this
and then post that Undertale x Yandere Simulator Crossover.
hope some of you like this drawing,
and I hope some like how King Dice
is making the scary eyes at Cuphead lol.
once again I enjoyed drawing this,
I even drew wedding rings on King Dice and Devil’s fingers.
and them saying the same thing to both Mugman and Cuphead.

Entry 6: Dicklips has a Point
Chapter 5: Mother
After a few days in Hoshido, Corrin is finally getting used to the massive emotional baggage that is her backstory. Mikoto invites Corrin to sit on the Hoshidan throne, which is infused with the magic of the First Dragons and destroys magic that alters the body or mind. Mikoto hopes that it will allow Corrin to regain her memories. Before Corrin can sit on the throne and become king of the Westeros or whatever, Mikoto’s strategist Yukimura enters. He looks like a nerd, but I suppose that’s better than being a steampunk MCR cover band dropout like Iago.
The Hoshidan siblings enter and Mikoto tells Corrin that they’re having a ceremony to quash spy rumors and formally reintroduce Corrin into the family. We’re properly introduced to Corrin’s other brother, Takumi. He’s assigned to show Corrin around town and is grumpy about it, because his defining character trait is being a dick. As Takumi and the princesses leave, Ryoma muses that he feels uneasy and predicts that something bad will happen soon.
The gang tours a Hoshidan marketplace. It’s so vibrant, and colorful, and full of life. I haven’t been talking much about this game’s music because I’m not a music guy, but I love the upbeat theme they use for this scene. It feels like something out of Okami and matches Hoshido’s idealized feudal Japan aesthetic perfectly.
Corrin points out that Shirasagi is way better than the Nohrian fort she was held prisoner in for years. Takumi rants that he doesn’t trust Corrin, saying Just don’t get too comfortable…SISTER. I know he’s supposed to come across as a dick, but he has a point. Corrin’s an enemy soldier who invaded Hoshido and killed a dozen people less than a week ago. It doesn’t matter that they share DNA, Corrin should be treated with suspicion.
Takumi also acts suspicious to Azura and says she can’t call him by his first name, which is dumb. What’s she supposed to do, call him Dicklips? Corrin points out that Dicklips is being an idiot and Dicklips tells her to shut up. And really, he is being an idiot. Either hate Corrin for growing up in Nohr, or hate Azura for having Nohrian DNA. Either nature matters, or nurture matters. You can’t have it both ways.
Then again, Azura and Corrin will totally join Nohr and try to destroy Hoshido if we chose the conquest path, so maybe Dicklips has a point.
Corrin tells Sakura that she’s friends with a girl around Sakura’s age, presumably Elise. If the coin flip had gone the other way and I was playing as boy Corrin, Sakura would have asked if Elise is Corrin’s girlfriend. And that’s ridiculous. Can you imagine, Corrin dating their teenage sister? That’s messed up. Good thing that isn’t a thing that happens in this game.
We go to the plaza for the festival. Side note, all shots of Corrin and Mikoto in the festival are positioned so that Corrin’s face is covered by something, like a man wearing an oversized hat, for instance. This is because Corrin is customizable and that means the game can’t show their face. They can show the clearly male body model, but not their face. Awakening had Robin wear a hood to get around this problem, but who needs fashion choices when you can just censor the main character’s face like it’s Austin Powers’s mojo.
While Corrin’s standing next to Mikoto, a weird ghost man wearing a hood walks to the front of the crowd and holds out his arm. Red smoke starts coming off Ganglari and an eye opens up on its hilt, because it is very clearly a cursed sword. Ganglari flies over to the man and he stabs it into the ground, creating a massive purple explosion ball. The sword explodes and Mikoto jumps in front of Corrin to shield her from the shrapnel. As she dies, Mikoto asks Corrin if she’s okay.
Fire Emblem has a lot of dead parent scenes, and I honestly think this is the best. Marcella Lentz-Pope’s scream when Mikoto dies is phenomenal. Mikoto begging Corrin to be alright and dying with a smile on her face is beautiful.
Ryoma cuts down the hooded man but his cloak just falls to the ground, leaving no body. Corrin screams, her hair glowing and her eyes white, physically holding back the pain as waves of energy burst from her body. In a moment, Corrin is gone. In her place is a dragon.
I really like Corrin’s dragon form. It looks so inhuman, more like a machine than a traditional dragon. It really gets across that Corrin has completely lost any semblance of humanity she had as she falls into this pit of despair.
The level proper starts up as an army of dark mages and mercenaries storm into the ruined plaza. Their leader is the ghostly man from before. Interestingly, he’s a swordmaster, a Hoshidan exclusive class that he shares with Ryoma. This level adds Sakura and Azura to our team and gives Corrin an absolutely monstrous boost to her stats, fitting for her rage dragon form.
Sakura
Corrin’s shy, gentle Hoshidan younger sister. She’s a Shrine Maiden (Cleric) and wields healing staves. Her personal skill lowers the damage taken by nearby allies. Her design is fine; I don’t really have any thoughts on it. She seems to be going for this “cute shy healer” personality, which isn’t bad, but Fire Emblem has done it a dozen times before.
Azura
Azura is our Dancer...I mean, Songstress. She sucks at fighting, but allows other units to attack twice, which is really helpful in battle. Her personal skill heals nearby allies at the start of their turns. Her design, despite its bright colors, does a good job conveying how calm and mysterious she is. Azura is an enigma. She clearly knows more than she lets on, but currently seems content to just follow Corrin around.
All of the mercenaries in this chapter wield special, dragon killing swords, which would be a problem, if Corrin didn’t have as much defense as the rest of the party put together. This chapter boils down to letting dragon Corrin smash everyone while Sakura, Azura, and Kaze provide support. Ryoma attempts to take on the ghost man, but is defeated. Then Corrin fucking stomps his translucent ass and saves the day.
Corrin continues rampaging and Azura begins singing LITAA. Her necklace, the one from the title screen, starts glowing. Ryoma runs in to protect Azura, but Azura blasts him away with a pillar of water, which is a thing that she can do apparently.
Dragon Corrin freaks out at the music and slashes Azura across the chest. Azura keeps singing and Corrin attempts to strangle her to death. Azura tells Corrin, Kill me if you want, but do it as yourself, which is a fantastic line that shakes Corrin out of her madness.
Corrin turns back into a human and has a flashback of Garon’s murdering Sumeragi and kidnapping her. Garon says You are my child now and grabs baby Corrin, which is so creepy its comical.
Corrin apologizes to Azura, saying she’s disgusted with herself. Ryoma explains that both royal families have dragon blood, the Nohrians from the Dusk Dragon and the Hoshidans from the Dawn Dragon. Corrin looks out over the destroyed town, a town full of innocent people destroyed by Nohr.
Ryoma points out that, because Garon gave Corrin an evil bomb sword, everything must have been his plan. Cool plan, by the way. Let’s see if I have it straight:
1: Give Corrin a bomb sword.
2: Have her commit an act of war.
3: Have Hans try to murder Corrin.
4: Hope he fails.
5: Hope the Hoshidans bring Corrin to their Queen, instead of imprisoning her for being an enemy soldier.
6: Have ghost soldiers invade Hoshido and take the sword from Corrin.
6: Cursed sword explodes, killing Mikoto and destroying her mind control barrier.
I mean, sure, there are probably simpler ways to kill Mikoto, ways that don’t involve praying that Hans fucks up and fails to kill Corrin. Garon could have, I don’t know, had the ghost soldiers kill Mikoto. Maybe their existence is tied to Ganglari, but that’s never actually stated, and the fact that they stick around and kill people after Ganglari explodes makes that questionable.
You know how, at the end of Naruto, Kishimoto had the villains reveal that they were behind every bad thing that happened in the series, and how it didn’t make sense and was dumb and convoluted? I’m getting Naruto vibes from this chapter.
Takumi blames Corrin for Mikoto’s death. And I mean, he has a point. Corrin’s the one who brought the clearly cursed sword her war criminal father gave her with her. Azura tells Takumi that it’s fine if he doesn’t trust her, but it's wrong for him to distrust Corrin, because Corrin is his blood. And that’s fucking stupid. Fire Emblem is filled with characters with evil relatives. Soren, Guinivere, Edelgard, Robin, the list goes on. Shit, there are evil blood relatives within this game.
Corrin suggests leaving and Yukimura tells her that Mikoto wouldn’t have wanted that and that Mikoyo knew she would die soon. He also mentions that there may be darker forces than Garon at work. Yukimura also points us towards a statue destroyed in the blast, a statue containing Yato, a diving golden sword that is said to be the key to peace. Yato flies up and over to Corrin.
Kaze runs in and reports a massive Nohrian force assembles at the border and the family marches off to war, with Ryoma declaring that he will not show any mercy. Corrin decides to follow Ryoma, in hopes of stopping the war. Azura tells Corrin to calm down, because getting into a fight could cause her to lose control and turn into a dragon again. Spoiler alert, this is literally the only chapter where Corrin loses control, because screw interesting characterization.
Azura gives Corrin her necklace, which turns out to be a dragonstone. Dragonstones and manaketes, people who can turn into dragons, are not new to Fire Emblem. Manaketes are normally uncomfortably young girls. Corrin is the first and currently the only manakete main lord. What’s more, Corrin is unique in their ability to wield both swords and dragonstones. It fits with the duality motif.
The necklace allows Corrin to control her dragon form, which is a bit of a disappointment. Corrin losing control and destroying stuff in this animalistic rage was really interesting characterization that is never seen after this chapter.
Azura decides to follow Corrin, because Corrin makes her feel safe. Apparently.
This chapter was really, really, good. Mikoto’s death was heartbreaking and Corrin going apeshit was some really strong character work. I forgot how absolutely terrifying Corrin’s transformation scene is. That said, this chapter hammers the final nail in the coffin for this story being morally grey. There is absolutely no reason to side with Nohr after this chapter, except for loyalty to the Nohrian royals.
At the start of the next chapter, we’ll choose our side in this war. And, not to tip my hand, but I don’t exactly think it’ll be a hard choice.

Hi guys! In this post, I will tell you why I find the relationship between Dr. Loboto and Coach Oldeander very interesting. And no, it's not just because they worked together in the first game that I find it interesting. I have many other reasons that I will mention. This analysis will also have spoilers related to Psychonauts 2 so don't read if you don't want to be spoiled... Let's go!
First I'm going to talk about the similarities between them two:
• They have the same voice actor who is none other than Nick Jameson. This one also makes the voice of Mr. Pokeylope in the first game and the Psychonauts Operator in Rhombus of Ruin. And I find it just great. Their voices are so different. Loboto's voice is high, while Oleander's is low. Nick Jameson is really talented and I think it's great.
• Loboto is blue and Oleander is orange. And we all know that blue and orange are complementary colors.
• Loboto is tall and Oleander is small. This honestly goes well together in terms of "partner in crime".
• They both have a scar on their face.
• Loboto lost his right arm and Oleander lost sight of his right eye.
• They both wanted to be a sailor. In Rhombus of Ruin, we can see that Loboto clearly wanted to be one. Part of his mind is a giant bathtub with a boat and in this boat there is First Mate Loboto who is none other than a sailor. When he was a child, he literally wore a sailor outfit. And he did a lot of experiments on fish. Linda in the first game and all the fish guards in the midquel game. All this is related to the marine world. And his skin is just blue as the sea. Just saying.
Oleander talks about the Navy a lot. So much so that in Rhombus of Ruin, he is very happy when he has a mermaid tail and says he would like the Navy to see him now. Being a sailor would certainly have been his dream job but alas, he was too short. And he also can’t swim because of his stumpy legs.
•  They both have a problem with their parents. (But who doesn’t in the Psychonauts world, honestly?) Loboto's parents outright lobotomized their son just because he was psychic and Oleander's father slaughtered his precious little bunny right in from of him. These events are truly tragic.
• The Whispering Rock Pamphlet. Oleander wrote this pamphlet. And this pamphlet says "You were born with a special gift. But the people around you treat it like a curse. Your mother is afraid of you, and your father looks at you with shame in his eyes." And it makes me think so much of Loboto. Because that's what happened to him. His mother was afraid of him and his father most certainly looked at him with shame in his eyes. And Oleander wrote that. And in my opinion, it seems very personal. Oleander's family surely saw him too this way. And so it's a big point in common between Loboto and him.
• They are both at least into men. Let me explain.
In Rhombus of Ruin, we learn that Oleander likes the boy band "All Paul". Three male mermaids singing love songs. And he's a big fan of them. He even sings one of their songs which is “Drag Me Down”. The fish guards draw each characters during the game. And they drew Oleander with the members of All Paul with hearts all around them. As you can see in the picture below.
Tumblr media
In Psychonauts 2, there is a small detail that we can miss if we are not careful. But in his mind, there are a lot of posters and one of them shows two male teeth in love. And the elements of an individual's mind say a lot about his personality.
Tumblr media
So, Oleander and Loboto are either gay or bi. And it’s wonderful to think about it.
• The song Drag Me Down. This song is sung by Oleander but did you know that this song is also found on Loboto's computer in his laboratory in the Rhombus? It would mean that Loboto is a fan of All Paul too and it's fun to think about it. It's also a song about a breakup. In my opinion, this could be related to the fact that Oleander and Loboto no longer work together. If we analyze few lyrics from it, it can really be about them. “ When we met it was the best thing that I've known “,  “I gave you everything you asked” (Reference to Loboto giving Linda to Oleander?) and “Never worried it wouldn't last but we are”. Oleander probably never worried that it could end but alas... A turtle named Pokeylope decided otherwise by blasting his partner. A tragic and true story.
• They both like to dance. Loboto always takes those little dance steps that we see in the first game and Ror, when he turns on himself. And Oleander dances when he sings "Drag Me Down", proving that he likes it as well.
• Raz saw them both when they were young children in their minds. Also, the first level in Psychonauts is Oleander’s mind and the first level in Psychonauts 2 is Loboto’s mind.
That’s all about the similarities, now I’m going to talk about the three games.
Psychonauts:
• In the first game, they worked together and they had a lot of fun together.
Just... Look at them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are just completely evil together. Partners in crime, after all.
• Loboto was very excited about taking over the world, too. In this cutscene where we see him talking with Lili we can clearly see his excitement over this. So, Loboto also wanted to be a part of it. Imagine, if he and Oleander had succeeded... The world will be complete chaos! Full of teeth and brains!
Rhombus of Ruin:
Although they do not interact in the midquel game, there are still some crisp info.
• Loboto talks about Oleander saying he has "a touch of halitosis". Halitosis is bad breath. Given their size difference, how does he know? Loboto is like... Twice Oleander’s height as you can see in the picture below.
Tumblr media
To be realistic, I think that since Loboto is a dentist he most certainly wanted to check the condition of Oleander's teeth and realized that it was a complete mess. Or maybe he kissed him and that’s how he knew.
• Loboto will say that he doesn't want this "little fellow" (Oleander) to learn about his new client. He thinks he wouldn’t like to know he was moonlighting. Why does Loboto care about it? Suspicious.
• If you don’t enter his mind at immediately, Loboto begins to speak by himself by saying dialogues of events he has experienced from the past. And he talks a lot about Oleander. He says: “That army man... What was he thinking? Psychoblaster Death Tanks?” and he laughs. But his laugh is natural, it’s not an usual crazy laugh like he always do. He also says: “Are you trying to impress girls... OR TAKE OVER THE WORLD? And you do NOT want to know what kind of gas mileage those things got.” which is... very funny to me.
• Oleander is the one who will come with his psycho-portal to give it to Raz. So in a way we can say that it is thanks to Oleander that Loboto has his moral compass back.
Psychonauts 2:
We don't know a lot about the game yet but a demo was released last summer, in June 2019, I absolutely love it. Loboto and Oleander interacted in it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
• As you can see in the pictures above, Oleander put his arm around Loboto. (Did he touch his butt?!) And he is very friendly towards him. I know they're supposed to be "acting" for Loboto to reveal who his boss is. But let's agree... Oleander is way too friendly with him.
• Oleander calls Loboto "Cal", not even Caligosto or Loboto like the others do. He calls him by a nickname. First name basis is a very friendly thing.
Tumblr media
• He says to Loboto that he is going to love that vacation package and that he’s jealous. And then he looks at him and his eyes shine. I honestly think he’s the one who make this little package, by the way. He also looks very proud of him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
• He also says “Maybe he doesn’t want those tropical vacations after all!” and “Hurry up or I”ll take those vacations myself!” he teased him at least twice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
• And he acts very “gentlemanly” toward him. Just look at the pictures above.
Oleander is a true, a real... GENTLEMAN! A man of good manner, I see.
Tumblr media
• Bonus: Loboto vision. Oleander is... SO SMALL!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
• In another scene, Oleander and Raz face a censor. Oleander begins to explain to Raz what a censor is and what they do, everything seems to be fine until he gets to the "Don't belong" part. Oleander realizes this and displays a sad face. He even looks at the ground, for a second, in silence as if he was thinking of something. Maybe he feels sad because Loboto doesn't see him as a friend but a threat and that's why he looks so... thoughtful.

• In this same scene, he begins to flee. (Colliding with a chair, by the way) He is certainly fleeing because he does not want the censor to expel him. Leaving Raz to take care of all the work.

Name a better duo than Oleander and this chair, I’ll wait.
That’s all about the games. Now mind if I share two... Headcanons?
Headcanons:
• I think Loboto and Oleander are the same age and that they were born in the 50s. Which would mean they lived their childhood in the 60s.
Let's talk about their parents.
First of all, Oleander’s dad.
When I did my research, I wanted to find out what a butcher looked like in the 60s and this is the image I found.

Pretty similar clothes to the ones Oleander’s dad wears.
Tumblr media
See? It honestly looks very similar.
Now let’s talk about Loboto’s parents and especially about his mom.
Image below is how dresses looked in the 60s.

And this is Loboto’s mom:

It’s the same kind of dress...
...So,  Loboto’s parents and Oleander’s dad are from the same time.
And by "time", I mean the 60s.

Even the clothes Oleander and Loboto  wore when they were kids, have 60s vibes, in my opinion... So! This would mean they’re the same age or around the same age. If we assume that the events of Psychonauts are in 2003, it would mean that in the events of the games, they are either in their early 40, or in their mid-40. Even late 40 or early 50 if they were born before 1955.
• My second headcanon is that I think they know each others for years. The legend of the monster in the lake (Linda) is apparently very old. And we all know who made Linda looking this way. It was Loboto. So, it would mean that Loboto and Oleander have worked on that for a very looooooooooong time. That would also explain why Oleander calls Loboto “Cal” in the PN2 demo. Because they were friends since a very long time. Maybe they even knew each others before that. Could be honestly cute if they were childhood friends, to be honest.
...Well! That’s all about my analysis. Their relationship sure is interesting and if you’ve read the whole thing then... Thank you! I wonder what will happen to them exactly in the second game. I could see them being a team again honestly. They fit so well together and not especially in the romantic way. I think that they could be a great team. Maybe they will both win the employee of the year award in Psychonauts 2 and going to tropical vacations together? Maybe even they will explore the world instead of taking over it? We’ll see!
