Genuinely considering keeping this guy for myself… Lil freak <3 /pos
Potential Names: Fiddlestick, Cinnamon
Bonus Warriors Names: Firethroat, Winglight, Berrydapple
(They/She)
“Manic pixie dream girl” vibes with an emphasis on “manic”...
A former kittypet; her collar is a bit too big for her. She didn’t really have a reason for leaving, just as she didn’t really have a reason for staying… So….. That’s that.
Very unnerving to look at due to their too-long legs. Very quiet due to their most common company being plants. Very… odd.
Tends to wander aimlessly. Traveling with the seasons, tracking the flowers and berries that bloom, documenting everything and anything.
Anything new and unfamiliar is just an invitation to BECOME familiar – no matter the cost. Tummy ache? Worth it. Claws to the face? Worth it. Multiple near-death experiences? All worth it! Without question!!
Has a fascination with plants, especially herbs, and will often experiment with them. Though, as she’s more concerned with the medicine itself rather than the health of her patient, these experiments can get… messy.
Often avoided by others, both due to her reputation as being so “”“innovative”“”, as well as her odd appearance.
[All of the emoji designs are mine unless specifically said otherwise! Please don’t use them. However, many will be offered as giveaways or will be for sale, so if you’re interested in a specific one, keep an eye out for them!]

All of the QSMP eggs as dragons!
Now for my design notes/headcanons! (There's a lot lol)
- The color pallettes are (for the most part) based off of their parent/parents. In lore terms, l'd imagine that more time they spent around their parents before they hatched, the more their color developed to mimic them. It would usually be used as a survival strategy with their dragon parents, however sometimes their personality overcomes this and they develop their own color.
- Being dragonets, none of them can fly due to their currently underdeveloped wings.
- Tilin's yellow spots would make Quackity think that Wilbur was supposed to be the other parent.
- Tallulah's colors/features are close to that of a duck. It would likely be a coincidence, but it'd be enough to Quackity to feel like the island was mocking him.
- Tallulah's "hair" is feathers. She's the only one with feathers, and it may either be a cause or effect of her being left in the attic (possibly being mistaken to be an egg from a different species and not a dragon, or the coldness of the attic caused feathers to form).
- Tallulah and Tilin have the same colored eyes since Quackity once said that she reminds him of Tilin.
- Chayanne has fins bc he likes doing mlg water bucket clutches and fishing with Missa.
- Chayanne's tail fin, Leonarda's ear, and Richarlyson's wing are ripped in a spot due to loosing a life. Bobby lost one of his after I designed him but one of his horns would be chipped, and forgot Ramón only had one as well so let's just pretend he's got a scar on his left leg lol.
- Its kinda subtle, but Chayanne has protruding bottom canines, similar to my (and many others') Techno design.
- Fun fact that usually in my style I have the neck spines start from the top of the head. Ramon is purposely "bald".
- Ngl I don't have much to say about Trump bc he died so quick (rip) and I never saw much about him; but his hat is too big for his head.
- Bobby is a wyvern bc it's easier to slap everyone with his wings. He also headbutts and slaps ppl with his tail (those hurt more).
- Bobby's colors are less based after his parents, but the orange/blue complementary colors are kinda more of a nod to Jaiden being an artist (which doesn't make a whole lot of sense now idk my brain just defaulted to that), but feel they match his personality as well. Also his scleras (part of eye that's not the iris/pupil) are black unlike the rest who's are normal.
- Leonarda has a tiny mushroom pin on her hat and their back has mushroom-like spots for the hat she always wears.
- People keep saying that Leo somehow looks like Foolish which is funny bc that wasn't even intentional- in fact was worried that she would be one of the only ones who didn't resemble her parents enough. I did try to make her slightly taller but I'm going to guess that it's the jawline lol
- [Edit bc I just thought of it] Leo's wings are bigger bc they've grown faster due to using them more to glide off of Foolish's/Veg's builds
- Dapper is built to be more bipedal than quadrupedal (their dewclaws on their back feet act more like a normal toe for better traction/ stabilization). This makes it easier to grab (or steal) things for their collection. And hold a taser.
- Richarlyson is based after an iguana! thought it would fit well (it's kinda hard to base him off of 5 different people lol)
- Had to go off of a secondhand info + auto translations (I can understand a decent amount of Spanish but have no idea when it comes to Portuguese so this could be off) but think there was something about Richarlyson having a bad leg both in and out of rp, and think maybe Cellbit said something about him having a prosthetic for it and I thought that was so so cool! It's based semi loosely off of a dog hind leg prosthetic and a human running one; probably wouldn't actually be functional but tried to keep the general shape of the leg.
- Richas and his dads cover it in stickers :)
- Juanaflippa's tail and probably the lower half of her front legs (which aren't visible) are semi transparent from Charlie (yellow comes from Mariana), and it shifts around a bit! It looks more like slime than it feels like it. I've been calling her Bananaflippa endearingly
- Gegg intentionally looks like Juanaflippa a bit (but he's way more slimy)
- Gegg's inventory basically consists of him absorbing random things which are sometimes visible (he is so full of avocado toast). He's like Bob from Monsters vs Aliens or smth idk haven't seen that movie in forever.
There some smaller less exciting details and other headcanons I have for them (such as extra accessories they'd have like Tallulah wearing sweaters) but that's about it! Feel free to ask about anything I like talking about them lol

Let you break my heart again
Tighnari x reader x Albedo
angst, no gender/pronouns are used to describe reader (if there is one I probably missed it!!), probably crack??in a way??, Tighnari finally realizes he's in love with you like the dumbass he is smh
summary: you seem to be enjoying your time in the presence of the chalk prince while Tighnari is feeling the exact opposite
part 1 part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tighnari felt like literal shit.
He woke up today so moody as Collei seem to still be anger at him for being your reason you left in the first place.
The rest of the forest rangers had learned about your leave, some wishing good luck while other while confused about you resigning your position. Clearly, you had always showed how much you loved doing your job with a bright smile on your face.
Today was no different, they all felt the tension air around him as he assigned the patrols for the day.
Once making sure everyone had their routes, he went over to where you used to stay, "hey Y/n, I brought your—"
He stops before letting out a heavy sigh, his ears seem to show what he's feeling. 'Right...I forgot they're not here anymore.'
He thinks as he goes back leaving the hut you once owned. Spotting Collei in the distance with someone, they seem to be handing her a letter before leaving.
Shrugging this off, he huffs as he gets ready to leave, now having by himself since you were often his partner when patrolling.
"It's quiet." He mutters.
"Are you sure this going to okay?!" You scream at the blonde who watches, very amused may I add, as you hold a sword in your hand while staring at a pair of pissed off hilichurls.
Albedo hums, "yes, I'll be here incase this goes south."
You resist the urge to glare at him, "...okay." you answer a bit unsure, since you don't believe you're fit to be holding a weapon.
Technically speaking, people form your family aren't familiar with sword fighting since cleansing as the main thing.
So, dodging and taking down the hilichurls was a completely new thing to you.
Albedo smiles to himself as he sees that defeated them, as you turn to look at him with a bright smile.
"I did it!" You say excitedly.
Neither of you took notice of the milichurl coming towards you.
Albedo looks down at his notes, he has written things you needed to improve and such things. "Alright, I think that's enough information for today." He nods before putting away the piece of charcoal he was using to write.
"Let's head back—"
He froze as he finally looks up to see the milichurl holds it's blazing axe in the air just above your figure who had no idea.
Noticing how quiet he was, you look back to see what he was looking at. You stop as the weapon you're holding, falls into the snow below.
Shutting your eyes, waiting for the pain to come but it never does as you feel a pair of arms wrap around your figure and the last thing you feel is your head hitting something hard as you two rolled to the ground.
A day later, you sit up, groaning at the intense pounding coming from your head as Albedo rushes over.
"You're finally awake." He says in relief, handing you something for the headache.
Groaning, you cover your face, "what... happened?"
He begins to explain everything about yesterday, "you'll be fine, just a minor head injury from hitting your head on a rock. I wanted to start right away on your training but it seems like that can wait." You sit up straight at this.
"No," you say, making Albedo look at you, "I want to continue...I want to be useful." Looking a him straight in the eyes, he blinks before a smile creeps up on his face as he stands up.
"Alright, get some rest today and tomorrow we'll officially start your training, do I make myself clear?"
You nod your head, smiling at him, filled with energy.
"ugh."
Tighnari say up, holding his head as the room was spinning. He was leaning up against a tree deep in the forest.
Grabbing his pen and small notebook, he begins to scribbled down information about the mushroom he had eaten.
"also causes....rather stronger hallucinations." He mumbles.
After he was down, he just leans back on the tree, thinking back on the hallucination he had as he closes his eyes.
'Tighnari, what did I say about taking naps in the middle of nowhere?' His ears spring up at the sound of your voice as he looks up to see you standing there, hands on your hips as you glare at him.
Although he could tell you were forcing yourself to do so, you never were the type to get seriously angry at him....maybe that's why you didn't fight back when he called you useless instead you agreed with it.
He frowns.
'sorry,' he mumbles as he stands up and notices the strange look you're giving him.
'hm? What's wrong? You usually give me a sassy remark and brush me off.' He winces at this, was this how you thought about him?
'still sleepy,' you stare at him, not believing him but you shrug it off.
'Okay then,' the two of you head back in silence. He takes this opportunity to observe you, watching how your h/c locks bounce with step you make and how your eyes dart around, sparkling at the sight of small animals in the distance.
His eyes wander to your lips as you let out a quiet sigh that he could still hear. "Um... Tighnari, I wanted ask for advice about something." You mumble, cheeks tint with red as you avoid looking at him.
"If this is about your love life again, please spare me the details and get to the point." He snaps back as you jump at how rough his voice sounded.
".. nevermind." You say, a discouraged as slump forward a bit, frowning.
His ears perk up at the sight of your figure, he remembers this now, this was a conversation he had with you a couple weeks before your little argument.
"Wait," you look up at him, "on second thought, maybe I can hear you out but know I'm not good at giving love life advice."
You smile at him and he looks away, his face feels rather warm, weird.
As you begin to tell him everything, he can't help but notice your features, did you always smell like Padisarah flowers?
"hm? Is something wrong?" You ask, noticing how tensely he was staring at you and it made you feel about flustered.
"n-nothing," he curses at himself for stuttering in front of you.
You two continue as walking when you suddenly come to a complete stop just a few steps in front of him. He's confused, "Y/n?" His ear twitches slightly at your silence.
"That's what you wished you said back then, maybe those words would have made the pain go away a bit." You say with a ominous tone.
He grist his teeth, standing up and brushing away the dirt on his clothes.
Your face is bright red at the praise given to you by Jean who held a kind smile on her lips. Your eyes are wide as you could resist the big smile on your face.
"W-wait, you're not joking?!"
She shakes her head, placing her hand on top of her chest, "Of course not, Albedo has put in a good word about you and I think you'll be fit to join the ranks of the knights."
You couldn't contain the smile on your face as you look at Albedo who slightly smiles at you before he stumbles back when you hug him.
Jean shakes her head at the sight of you two Albedo awkwardly patting your back as you kept saying 'thank you' to him.
"When ever you make up your mind, come see me." She says before you two leave her office.
You keep ranting about how you won't disappoint them, "—then! My parents won't have to force me to see candidates—" you freeze at this and your face drops when remembered them.
"...my parents.." you mumble, "I didn't tell them I would come to Mondstadt."
Albedo raises a brow at this, "your parents? They shouldn't be force you to get married to some stranger." Ah, seems like he caught onto your rant.
You begin to explain everything, he learns that they have always decided on an arranged marriage for you but you enrolled at the Akademiya, succeeding in stopping their plans for a couple years and naturally, they stop bringing the topic up when you met Tighnari, Cyno and everyone else.
"They saw my fight with Tighnari as a sign for them to bring up the topic of marriage and when I left my position, it encouraged them even more." You sigh, your shoulders dragging as you two sat on a nearby bench.
Albedo is taking this information in, "your position....what was it?"
You look to the side, hesitating to answer..."a forest watcher just like Tighnari.... except I felt like a damsel of distress being there. I was the only one not able to wield a weapon so I was pretty much stuck with the paperwork."
"Why?"
You shrug your shoulders, "my parents didn't want me to having one and Tighnari had sure to respect their wishes but boy did that bite him in the ass." A fond smile is visible on your face as you talk about your moments with Tighnari and Albedo notices this.
"when we were just forest watchers in training, he was mastering the bow and one day when we went on patrol, we walked right into a withering zone and we didn't notice since we were messing around." You look up at the starry sky, "that was probably the first time I've seen him so worried over me....maybe that's why I fell for him."
Your face flushes, heart beating rapidly as you remember that day, clear as day. Him holding you in his arms as he yelled in worry for you not to close your eyes as you look at them through hazy eyes.
You sigh almost sadly afterwards, "and that's why it's a pain to be in love with him. As much as I like how he is....his words do hurt at times."
That aching pain returned, one you haven't felt since meeting the chalk prince.
"Was he the reason you agreed to the traveler's request?"
Your silence was his answer.
"I can only take so many heart breaks you know." You say with a light tone.
"Just how long were you in love with him?" He asks, giving a side glance as you hold your fingers, counting.
"Hm...I say since we were kids but it turned into more than puppy love during our Akademiya years."
Albedo lets out a hum, a hand under his chin as he thinks.
Collei looks at Tighnari who mumbles something under his breath, "what was that, Master?" She asks as he suddenly stands up, catching her off guard.
His face is bright red, "I think I'm in love with Y/n."
He figured out why he was so out of it these last couple days after you were gone, he missed your voice, your laughter, your silly remarks and those warm smiles you would always give him even when he never returned them. He missed you above all else.
Collei's eyes go wide as saucers as she stares at him with a open mouth, dropping the pen she was using to write something down.
"You figure that out now?! When Y/n is no where to be found?!" She yells, frustrated a bit.
1 month later
Taking off the hood, you take in the sight of Sumeru, the breeze making the coat you're wearing flow as Albedo appears besides you.
"this is it." You mutter, "I'm back home."
Albedo takes lead, "we'll reach the city in a few days but first, I need to see these withering zones you spoke so much about.
Taking a deep breathe, you took a look in the direction where Gandharva Ville is, the sunlight hitting your face as the wind blows a couple of hair strands across your face before turning away to follow Albedo.
"I need to make sure Albedo's training doesn't go to waste."

Rabbit Hunt
After passing through a fey portal, Raine meets a strange fairy baroness who insists on hosting a rabbit hunt - and insists that Raine be the rabbit. Raine tries to refuse, but the Baroness's magical maze isn't so easily beaten…
Kind of a weird old story of mine I realized I hadn't posted yet. It's got predatory fey, bunnygirl TF, hunter/prey play, and petplay, and hopefully all that wrapped up in a little fantasy-horror package sounds good! Happy Halloween!

---
“I’m very pleased to meet you,” said the Baroness to Raine, in a polite, soft, lilting, richly-accented voice. The tall, ethereal fey had introduced herself as nothing more or less than ‘The Baroness’. “Would you care to give me your name?”
“Sure,” Raine replied automatically. “It’s Raine.”
She froze.
She was talking to a fey. This was the fey realm. That was the only explanation. She’d been walking home from work, and as she often did, had taken a small detour to walk through the edges of the big, old forest that surrounded her hometown. Entirely by chance, she’d noticed something a little deeper into the woods. An unusually large, unusually colorful ring of toadstools. Raine had been sure it hadn’t been there the day before, and so, curious, she’d decided to investigate. Reaching down to briefly touch one of the odd, white-and-red spotted mushrooms, she’d felt herself suddenly pulled forward by something, as if she was somehow falling into the ground.
The fall had left her dizzy and disoriented, but when she came to, she found she was somewhere very different. She wasn’t in a forest anymore. She appeared to be standing in the grounds of a very large, very grand mansion. There was no sign of where she had arrived from, or how, but behind her was a vast hedge maze that seemed to stretch on all the way to the horizon, and in front of her was a little flower garden with a long dining table running its whole length. And that was where she’d met the Baroness, sitting on a silver throne at the head of the table.
And now she’d given the fey her name.
In Raine’s part of the world, tales and stories of the fey folk were everywhere. She’d been raised on them. There were many, many different myths and legends, but a common thread running through all of them was a set of very simple rules that you were meant to follow if you ever found yourself dealing with a fairy.
One: don’t tell them a lie, lest it become the truth.     Two: don’t play pretend, lest it become reality.     And three: never, ever give them your name.
She had just broken the third rule.
“Could you tell me that one more time, pretty girl?” the Baroness asked sweetly.
“It’s… it’s…” the girl who had been Raine opened her mouth to answer, but she suddenly found herself drawing a blank. “W-why can’t I remember my name?” she asked out loud, suddenly panicked.
“Oh, well, that’s because it’s not your name anymore, silly.” The Baroness laughed indulgently. “And when you give something to someone, it isn’t yours anymore. It’s theirs. Don’t you see? ‘Raine’ isn’t your name now. It’s mine.”
“Raine…” the girl breathed. At first, she felt like the name meant something to her, but it didn’t feel right. It didn’t feel as familiar and fitting as it once had. And within moments, she forgot it again, the word ‘Raine’ slipping through her mind like water slipping through her fingers.
“Don’t worry, pet,” the Baroness said comfortingly, although the sinister, too-wide grin on her face was anything but comforting. “I’m sure you’ll find a new one, sooner or later. But for now, why don’t you join me? I was just about to indulge in a little hunting, you see.”
“I-”
“No, wait,” the Baroness interrupted. “You will join me on my hunt. I insist on it. And you see, this is my house, so I’m afraid you really don’t have much choice in the matter.”
“I, um, w-what?” The girl was too confused to argue. She had lost her name and she was feeling a strange weakness in the face of the Baroness’s words, like the fey’s presence alone was sapping her willpower. “W-what are we hunting?” she asked absent-mindedly.
“Oh no.” The Baroness wagged a finger. “Not we. You’ll be joining me, but not as a fellow hunter. You, my dear girl, will be my quarry.”
“What?” The girl spat, alarmed.
The Baroness ignored her obvious panic. “The only question is,” the fey mused, “what will you be? Let me get a proper look at you.”
The tall, slender fey darted lithely towards the girl, circling her a little too close for comfort and occasionally reaching out to prod or grab at her. The girl was frozen to the spot with terror, captivated and held helpless by the Baroness’s strange aura. She couldn’t fathom why the fey seemed so interested in her, and so eager to carefully inspect her body. What was there to see? The girl was tall, with a thick, messy mop of auburn hair. She had an athletic build; in college she’d been on the track and field team, and since graduating she’d kept in the habit of exercising and running. Her strong, toned thighs and wide hips were the only things that really made her stand out. But the Baroness seemed fascinated by every little detail of her form. The girl felt uncomfortably like a piece of livestock being sized up for slaughtering. But what could she do? Run? She had a feeling she couldn’t escape the Baroness, and besides, where could she run to?
There was little more the girl could do than try to study the Baroness in return, hoping to get a sense of her strange host and what she might be capable of. The powerful fey was far more unnerving than most of the fairies the girl had read about in her childhood stories. She looked human, almost, but from up close there were a hundred tiny, uncanny details that gave her away. She was exceptionally tall, at least seven feet, and a little too slender and willowy for any mortal being. Her fingernails were too long, her skin too pale, and her teeth too sharp. Her eyes were the biggest giveaway. They simmered with a sinister red-purple glow, and looking at them for too long gave the girl a throbbing headache. When she met the Baroness’s uncomfortably piercing gaze, she thought she could see huge, insectoid wings unfolding from the fey’s back, but when she looked, there was nothing. The Baroness was an impossible creature.
The fey’s manner of dress was just as peculiar. She was wearing what appeared to be a very long Victorian tailcoat, dark green in color, and with a very tight fit that only accentuated the Baroness’s sleek, subtle feminine form. Her hair was red as flame, and tied up in elaborate braids. Underneath the tailcoat was a ruffled dress shirt and a smart pair of trousers. Curiously, the Baroness was barefoot, although her feet seemed untouched by dirt or grub. She really did look like something out of a strange old fairytale - the kind that gave you nightmares, even if they weren’t supposed to. Around the Baroness’s neck was a large pendant made of silver, in the form of a complex Celtic knot. It was beautiful. The girl quickly found herself staring at it. The more she stared, the more she noticed all kinds of little details and pleasing patterns in the way the small threads of silver were interwoven. It was entrancing. Hypnotic. It-
“A rabbit!” the Baroness suddenly announced.
“What?” the girl asked, surprised.
“You’ll be a fine rabbit.”
“I’m not a rabbit!”
“Don’t be so hasty,” the Baroness admonished.
“Um… s-sorry,” the girl apologized, suddenly embarrassed.
“That’s more like it.” The Baroness smiled, showing teeth. “A rabbit hunt! Oh, I’m going to have such fun. When shall we get started?”
“Wait, I-”
“Right now? Of course! No time like the present, after all. Not that it really matters, here. It’s always the present, isn’t it?” The Baroness laughed. It was an incredibly unnerving sound. “Well, off you go! Get running!”
“What?” The girl was so confused, and she’d had enough. She needed to put her foot down somewhere. She needed to find a way home. That wasn’t going to happen if she kept playing along with this ridiculous charade. She found the Baroness oddly difficult to resist, but she needed to try. She’d already lost her name, and she didn’t want to lose anything more. “No! No, I’m not going to be part of this… this hunt. I refuse to do whatever you tell me. I’m staying right here until you send me home!”
The Baroness pouted; an absurd affectation on such a tall, ethereal creature. But then, she smiled again. “Well… suit yourself, I suppose.” The Baroness turned back to the dining table, and picked up something. It was something the girl hadn’t taken notice of before. A spear. It wasn’t quite like anything she had ever seen before. Its shaft was long and twisting, and the blade looked like it was made of shattered, sparkling glass. But there was no doubt it was wickedly sharp, and as the Baroness held it aloft in a practiced grip and turned back to the girl, there could be no doubt what it was for either. “But in that case, it will be a terribly short and boring hunt.”
The girl started backing away, eyes wide. She’d already been plenty scared, but now she was utterly terrified. The Baroness grinned at her fear.
“Go on, run!” the fey commanded. “Run for me, little rabbit girl. Run, run, run!”
The nameless girl turned and fled for her life. Heading away from the Baroness, there was nowhere for her to run to except the vast, dark, endless hedge maze stretching out before her. It scared her too, but she had no choice. With panic lending her speed, she plunged headlong into its abyssal depths, and in moments, she was lost.
***
Left. Right. Left. Left. Right. Left. Right. Right. Right. The girl sprinted and darted through the twisting passages of the maze, taking each turn according to nothing more than her instincts. Which, she was fully aware, meant she was essentially running around at random. It probably wasn’t wise, but she wasn’t sure what else she could do. Wasn’t there some kind of rule for getting out of a maze? Always follow the left-hand wall? Something like that? But the problem was, the girl wasn’t sure if she even wanted to escape. Wouldn’t that take her back towards the Baroness’s manor? She had no way of knowing if there was a way out on the other side, or anything hidden in the center. Besides, she’d already become convinced that any true navigation was impossible. The maze didn’t seem to obey consistent physical laws. More than once, she’d felt certain she was looping back around to somewhere she’d been before only to end up somewhere completely new, or had been heading in a perfectly straight line and found herself back at a familiar crossroads. For all she knew, the Baroness had enchanted the maze to make sure her rabbit hunt had a single, inevitable outcome.
Why a rabbit hunt? Why had the Baroness insisted she would be a rabbit? The girl was so scared she could barely think, but she still couldn’t stop turning that question over in her mind. A rabbit? She wasn’t anything like a rabbit. Was she? Sure, she’d heard a few cracks about it before. Quite a lot, come to think of it. She’d always loved eating carrots, and she’d always been particularly good at athletics events like the long jump and high jump. But that didn’t mean anything, and besides, the Baroness didn’t know anything about that. Did she? It was hard to tell, when she was dealing with such a strange creature. Given the kinds of stories she’d heard, it didn’t seem impossible. But the girl only knew one thing for sure: she needed to hold on to her humanity. She didn’t want to lose more than just her name.
It was proving difficult, though, to focus on anything at all. The twisting passageways of the hedge maze were somehow hypnotic, and at every turn, the girl had to think about the Baroness, who was surely right on her tail. She kept hearing ominous sounds from all around her: footsteps, leaves rustling, twigs snapping underfoot. It was hard to be sure they were real, and even harder to judge how close they might be, but each sound filled the girl with fresh terror and spurred her onwards. She had no time to think, no time to plan. She just had to run.
“Oh, hello there!”
The girl wheeled around at the voice, terrified the Baroness had found her. But no. Without realizing it, she’d stumbled into some kind of small, brightly lit clearing. And she wasn’t alone there. Sitting at a small table, just a few paces away from her, was another fey. A pixie. They too were slight and slender, although unlike the Baroness they were very small. They wore a pretty summer dress, and had two pairs of dragonfly wings folded on their back as they sat, daintily sipping at a porcelain teacup.
“Um… hello?” The girl was reluctant to stop running, but she needed a moment to catch her breath. Besides, this pixie didn’t seem as threatening as the Baroness. “Could you tell me where we are?”
“I’m afraid not.” The pixie had the same kind of strange, lilting voice as the Baroness, although much higher-pitched. “I don’t know either, you see.”
“You’re lost too?”
“Oh, I wouldn’t say so.” The pixie seemed bemused by the suggestion. “I’m quite content here.”
“Right,” the girl said, after a long pause. “Well, um, I need to be going now. Please don’t tell the Baroness you saw me.”
“You’re her new pet? The rabbit?” The pixie looked at her with fresh interest. “Not yet, I suppose.”
“Um…” Pet?
“You must be having a tough time,” the pixie said sympathetically.
“I… yes,” the girl admitted. Sympathy was the last thing she’d expected. “She’s… she’s right on my heels! At least I think she is. It’s hard to tell.”
“Well, of course it is!” the pixie exclaimed. “You’ve no hope at all, the way you are now. You need better hearing! That way, you can hear her coming.”
“That would actually be pretty nice,” the girl agreed. If she could tell where the Baroness was coming from, she might be able to keep her at arms’ length.
“Want me to help you out with that?” the pixie offered.
“Would you? Yes please!” The moment the words left the girl’s lips, she realized what a horrible mistake she’d made. “No, wait, I didn’t-”
The pixie, ignoring her protests, raised a hand and snapped her fingers. The change was instant. The nameless girl reached up in shock as she felt two big, floppy rabbit ears sprout from the sides of her head. They were over six inches long and hung around her shoulders, and the soft fuzz covering them, the same shade of rich brown as her hair, was impressively soft and velvety. The girl, though, wasn’t really able to appreciate them. She was horrified. She couldn’t see her own reflection, but she could only imagine how ridiculous she must look. More importantly, though, it was clear the Baroness’s promise was already coming true. ‘You’ll be a fine rabbit’, the fey had said. The girl was beginning to worry she’d been speaking very literally.
“You… fix me!” the girl yelled, after a few moments spent turning her head this way and that, trying to inspect her new ears. But there was no reply, and when the girl looked up, she found that she was alone once more. The pixie had vanished. The girl grit her teeth. Then, though, she heard footsteps, much louder than ever before. She didn’t have time to waste searching for a mischievous pixie. The Baroness was still coming for her. She’d already rested too long. The girl picked the first passage she saw, and ran into it as fast as her legs could carry her.
As she sprinted deeper into the maze, though, the girl noticed something. Her hearing really was better. All the half-heard noises that had troubled her before resolved themselves into a clear map of every little thing happening around her. It wasn’t a comforting picture. She could hear the footsteps of something; something she was sure was the Baroness. It wasn’t far away, and it was stalking her with unnerving precision. Still, the girl felt better for knowing. At least she could be reasonably sure her hunter wasn’t lurking around each and every corner. That brought her a measure of calm, and oddly, so did her hearing itself. Despite her distress at her new, animalistic ears, it was proving easy for her to lean into her new, heightened senses. The girl found she could immerse herself in the world around her, becoming one with all those small noises and letting instinct carry her away from danger, and allowing the loud and anxious parts of her mind to grow quiet. It was nice, especially under the circumstances, but the girl was wary of it. She’d noticed the odd, rabbit-like way she tended to twitch from side to side in response to sounds when she let herself sink a little too deep into that headspace.
The girl’s supernatural hearing, though, didn’t prevent her from turning another corner and finding herself in another clearing, just like the first. She narrowed her eyes and searched around for another pixie. She hadn’t heard anything, but sure enough, there was one. This second pixie appeared to be playing a small game of croquet on a tiny little lawn. The girl shook her head in disbelief. How hadn’t she heard anything?
“Hello there!” the pixie called out in a jolly, lilting voice. “You must be the Baroness’s new rabbit.”
“I’m not a rabbit!” the girl replied indignantly.
The pixie giggled. “With those ears? I think that’s a bit of a foolish thing to say, silly rabbit.”
The girl grit her teeth. “Whatever. I’ll be on my way.”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you.” The pixie nodded her head sympathetically. “She must be giving you a hard time.”
“She is.” The girl turned her head left and right, listening out carefully. She could hear rustling, but it wasn’t close. “I… I don’t know how she’s tracking me. Do you know the way out of here? I need to get back home.”
“Hmm.” The pixie stroked their chin, thinking for a moment. “I’m afraid not. I don’t know how she’s tracking you either. She’s an awfully good hunter. I suppose you’ll just have to go faster.”
“Yeah, I guess,” the girl agreed, disappointed.
“Hey!” the pixie said brightly. “Want me to help you with that?”
“Oh, can you?” the girl asked eagerly. She was getting awfully tired, and she didn’t want her speed to start flagging. “Yes, please. Although… wait, no. No, please don-”
It was too late. The pixie had already snapped her fingers. The girls started immediately looking herself up and down. She wasn’t sure what was going to happen. For a moment, she thought she’d somehow escaped the pixie’s curse. But then she felt it; a gentle but insistent warmth in her lower body. At first, it was hard to pinpoint, but more and more it coalesced in her thighs and her hips. And then they started to grow. The girl initially thought her clothes were changing, as her leggings felt as though they were getting tighter and tighter. But she soon realized that in fact, her thighs and hips were expanding, swelling with new muscle and fresh, soft curves. Her ass, too, started expanding out behind her, and within moments her leggings were ripping apart at the seams, quickly shredded to tatters by her growing body. The girl had always had a pretty slender, athletic build, but that was rapidly changing. Her metamorphosis took mere seconds, and by the end her physique was hopelessly bottom-heavy. Her new proportions weren’t quite extreme enough to be called cartoonish, but they were close. She certainly didn’t look like a runner anymore.
“You! I’m gonna-” The girl looked up, but predictably enough, the pixie was gone. “I’m gonna strangle the next one of those I see,” she vowed.
Experimentally, she reached down to run her hands over her new body. It was incredibly soft and curvaceous. She had the kind of ass and hips people drooled over. Beneath the softness, though, she could feel that her legs had become incredibly powerful. Underneath a layer of pleasing, masterfully sculpted fat was pure, taut muscle. Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad after all, the girl mused. Then a gust of wind blew through the maze, and she shivered. If only her transformation hadn’t shredded her clothes. She had an odd feeling that pixie was still lurking somewhere nearby, leering at her nudity. At least her top half was still covered. But that was just one more reason to move on quickly. The rustling leaves were growing closer, and she had no more time to waste. Once more, the girl picked a path, and started running.
She quickly found, though, that she couldn’t run. Not like before. Her new body simply wasn’t suited for it. The kind of runner’s gait she’d long since committed to muscle memory simply didn’t allow for such massive, curvy thighs. The girl groaned in frustration. The pixie had promised to help her, but what help were these new legs if she couldn’t run on them? Then, though, she remembered how well her new ears seemed to work when she let instinct take over. Perhaps her new body was the same. The girl took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and just tried to move forward in whatever way felt most natural.
She hopped.
At least, it was something like a hop. Instead of placing one foot in front of the other, the girl pressed her feet together and coiled her thighs, before extending both her legs at once to propel herself forward. The speed at which she moved took her by surprise, and threatened to send her toppling over forwards. But, just barely, she was able to keep her balance. The girl was astonished. Her new body was incredible! With speed like this, she could easily leave any of her track and field rivals in the dirt - assuming she ever made it home. With that thought held firm in her mind, she picked a direction and started hopping.
The hedge maze around her became a blur as she sped through it, much faster than before. The nameless girl was amazed. Despite her situation, she couldn’t help but grin. She was riding high on adrenaline. She was so fast! And with her enhanced hearing, she could be sure to stay clear of danger Maybe she could win this hunt after all. Maybe. The girl didn’t want to get carried away. She knew there was something darker at work here. The transformations she’d been offered were beckoning her, tempting her with unfamiliar, animal instincts. She needed to hold back. She didn’t want to become the Baroness’s rabbit. She could only imagine what she already looked like, hopping around on her huge thighs with her long ears flopping around her shoulders. It was ridiculous. But she was hopeful she could hold on to her own identity - just as long as she didn’t make any more silly agreements with pixies.
She hopped out into another clearing.
“Ugh!” the girl groaned in frustration. There was no way she was talking to another pixie. Fortunately, there didn’t seem to be one around. In the clearing, there was nothing but a small tree. The girl was already hurrying forward, deeper into the maze, when a high-pitched voice took her by surprise and made her stumble.
“Leaving so soon?”
Once she was back on her feet, the girl looked up. Nestled amongst the branches of the tree was, as she’d been dreading, another pixie.
The girl’s instinct was simply to run. She’d learned her lesson. A pixie meant danger, and she should run from danger. Nice and simple. Instinctive. But as she made to hop off, the pixie addressed her again:
“You know, you don’t seem very steady on those legs of yours! If you’re to be the Baroness’s new rabbit, you’ll need that sorted. Why don’t I offer you something to help you with your balance?”
“No!” the girl snapped, very firmly. “No thank you! No! Nope! Not wanted!”
“No?” The pixie raised a tiny eyebrow. “Are you telling me you don’t want to be able to balance better?”
“Well of course I want that!” the girl said, exasperated. “But I don’t- wait, no I didn’t mean that! I-”
The pixie snapped their fingers, and the girl grew a tail.
It was a short, floppy, incredibly fluffy little bunny tail, sprouting from the base of her spine to nestle comfortably against her newly-rounded ass. The girl groaned in despair. How did this keep happening to her? She looked up at the tree, determined to climb it and throttle the pixie no matter how long it took, but predictably enough, they were gone. The girl sighed. Despite all her protests, it seemed she was becoming more and more rabbit with each passing moment. It wasn’t just her body; she could feel the changes in her mind too. Her thoughts were growing simpler. More animal-like. Now she had a tail, it was sure to get even worse. But what could she do? Nothing more, she decided, than keep running, deeper and deeper into the maze.
Much as she was loathe to admit it, once she started hopping again, the girl found that her tail was quite the asset. Short though it was, it was just enough to let her counterbalance her new, hopping gait, allowing her to move faster still without placing herself at risk of toppling over if she misjudged a single hop. With that danger remedied, the girl found she was able to take joy in the simple act of hopping around. She knew she was still in danger, but some part of her derived a strange thrill from how fast she could move, and how at one with her new body she felt. She was reluctant to plunge into the headspace, but she found herself slipping deeper and deeper towards it, as the simple, primal joy of racing and running quenched her old, increasingly distant anxieties and fears about losing her humanity. She still knew she needed to get home, but she’d already determined that to do that, she needed to run and hop, and that was so much easier to think about. All she needed to do was run, and run, and run, and run, and run, and-
The girl hit a dead end.
She turned back, and found herself frantically looking left and right. There were no ways out, just a long passageway leading back the way she’d just come. And she could hear close footsteps. The Baroness’s footsteps. The girl panicked, and cursed herself. She’d been so caught up in her transformation, she’d run right into a hopeless dead end - just like an animal into a trap. There was nothing more she could do than try and run back the way she came. The girl set off as fast as she could - only to turn a single corner and find herself face-to-face with the Baroness.
“Hello there, little rabbit,” the Baroness said in a sing-song voice, looming over her. “I must say, you’re coming along very nicely.”
The girl started backing away in fear, even though she knew she had nowhere to go. The Baroness followed, pressing in on her with ease, her spear hefted in her hand.
“L-l-leave me alone!” the girl whimpered, as she pressed her back up against the thick, impenetrable hedge behind her.
“Didn’t I tell you that you’d make a fine rabbit?” the Baroness purred, the too-wide grin on her face growing wider with each passing moment. “So fine, in fact, that I think it would be a waste to simply dispatch you. No… I think I’ll keep you.”
“Keep me?!” the girl cried out in a shrill voice. She wasn’t sure if that was better or worse. She didn’t want to be hunted, but she didn’t want to be anybody’s pet. Least of all this sinister fey’s.
“Is that so terrible a fate? I assure you, I can be a kind mistress,” the Baroness replied, as if sensing the girl’s thoughts. “But if you’re to be my pet, I’ll have to give you a name, won’t I?”
“I have a name!” the girl insisted weakly. “It’s… it’s…” She couldn’t remember.
The Baroness ignored her protests, musing to herself. “Oh, I’ve never been any good with names. Let’s stick with something simple… Bunny! Your name is Bunny.”
“N-no it’s not!” Bunny protested, but already, the name was taking hold of her. It clung to her like a spider’s web, no matter how hard she tried to reject it. Her name was… what? If she only had a different name to hold on to it might have been easier, but she didn’t, and so ‘Bunny’ rushed in to fill the void. It proved slippery, sneaking into her memories and inserting itself into her identity in unexpected ways. She tried to isolate it, focusing on the fact that the Baroness had christened her ‘Bunny’ mere moments ago, only to find that she could remember all sorts of people calling her that. She could hear it in her parents’ voices, in her sister’s voice, and in the voices of all her friends. She tried to picture her old high school book; in her mind’s eye, ‘Bunny’ was the name written under the photo She was… Bunny. That was her name. Bunny.
“There. Isn’t that better?” the Baroness asked, her voice suddenly soft. “Poor, confused Bunny. Running around in my little maze, not even knowing who you are. It’s OK. You’re safe now.”
Bunny didn’t feel safe, but already, the Baroness’s enchanting aura was beginning to affect her. Clear thought was becoming difficult. She wanted to flee, and since that was impossible, she was simply frozen like a deer in headlights.
“Here. See?” the Baroness continued, slowly setting her spear down on the ground. “I’m not going to hurt you. I’ll take very good care of you, my rabbit.”
“I’m not a rabbit! I’m not!” Bunny protested.
“No?” the ethereal Baroness cocked her head to one side. “But, my sweet pet, aren’t you called Bunny? That seems like a very strange name for someone who’s not a rabbit, don’t you think?”
“But… but…” Bunny balled her fists at the unfairness of it, and how hard she was finding it to argue back. Her name was Bunny. That was a rabbit’s name. Sure, it was the Baroness who had named her that, but that didn’t change the fact that it was now her name. That much was undeniable. How was she supposed to argue she was human with a name like that?
“Still thinking like a person? Oh, we can’t have that,” the Baroness tutted. “Allow me to fix that for you.”
“Wha-”
Before Bunny could shrink out of the way, the Baroness’s hand darted out to rest at the side of Bunny’s head. At the fey’s surprisingly gentle touch, Bunny froze, allowing the Baroness to slowly stroke all the way along Bunny’s new, floppy rabbit ears.
Bunny melted.
The girl’s whole body melted. The feeling was indescribable. Shivers ran all across her skin, and turned her muscles to jelly. Bunny felt like her legs were going to collapse underneath her. Her instincts suddenly betrayed her, and she could herself leaning into the Baroness’s touch, nuzzling her ears into her fey captor’s hand in search of more. The sensation was bliss, pure and simple. She’d had no idea her new ears were so sensitive, and even though she knew full well the Baroness was using this new weakness to bring her under her spell, she couldn’t make herself hate it. Not when it felt so good.
“There, there,” the Baroness soothed, her seductive words slipping into Bunny’s helpless ears. “Isn’t this better? Good girl. Good rabbit.”
Bunny shivered. Why? Was she so weak to this?
“Don’t you want this?” the Baroness continued, in her soft, lilting, simpering whisper. “Don’t you want me to pet you like this each and every day? Of course you do, little rabbit. You could have that. You could be mine.”
“N-noooo,” Bunny moaned. She hated how deeply tempted she was.
“No?” the Baroness drew her hand over Bunny’s head in a leisurely manner, before starting to stroke her other ear. Bunny’s bliss doubled. “Aww, I think you’re trying to fight. Are you? That would be very, very silly, little rabbit. Rabbits don’t fight. Do you? Rabbits are so weak and small and helpless. Aren’t they?”
“Y-yes,” Bunny agreed weakly, before realizing she wasn’t quite sure what exactly she had agreed to. “Or… no… no, I… um…”
“Rabbits aren’t very smart, are they?” the Baroness mused, still petting Bunny affectionately. “I suppose they don’t need to be. They’re simply adorable, after all. You should really stop trying so hard, Bunny. Isn’t it tiring? Aren’t you already exhausted, after all that hopping?”
It was only as the Baroness spoke those words that Bunny realized how true they were. She was exhausted. She yearned to slump forward into the fey’s slender arms. But… she couldn’t. Could she? She needed to fight. She needed to find a way home. Didn’t she? It was so hard to keep it all straight in her head. She was tired, and her head was so full of fog. Each time the Baroness ran her hand down one of Bunny’s soft, velvety ears, she could her thoughts being massaged away, all those mental knots of anxiety and fear unraveling harmlessly. It was so hard to maintain her train of thought for more than a couple of seconds. Her head was becoming just as fuzzy as her ears.
“I… I…” Bunny whimpered slowly. “Um… yes… exhausted… yes… mm…”
She knew what was happening. She was being treated like… like a pet. And it felt so right.
“That’s right,” the Baroness crooned. The fey started gently pushing Bunny’s head from side to side as she stroked her ears and her hair. The entranced girl swayed with each motion, unresisting. “Time to do what comes naturally, hm?”
What comes naturally… what did that mean? Bunny wasn’t sure. She just wanted to feel good. She was tired of running, tired of fear. She wanted the path of least resistance. Right now, that meant letting the Baroness have her way with her. Maybe that’s what was natural. But… home. She needed home. She had to remember that.
“N-n-no…” Bunny made herself say, with great effort.
“No?” Her fey captor arched an eyebrow, eyes shining with a mystical, gleeful light. “That doesn’t make any sense at all. Silly rabbit. Aren’t you a silly bunny?”
“I’m… not… not a bunny!” It was getting harder and harder to say each time.
“Not a bunny? But you’re Bunny!” The Baroness laughed. “A Bunny is a bunny, no? That much is obvious, even to an empty-headed little pet like you. And you’re Bunny; we both agree on that. And that means you’re a bunny. Don’t you think?”
“Umm….” Bunny simply could not muster the mental energy to get to grips with what the Baroness was saying. It was so easy to get lost in her voice; in the way it lilted up and down like a half-remembered lullaby. The fey’s words simply washed over her like the rain, soaking her, seeping into her.
“Just look at you,” the Baroness murmured softly. “Look at these.” She gently tugged on one of Bunny’s ears. “And look at this.” Bunny yelped slightly as the Baroness stepped in even closer to her, slipping a hand around her hips and stroking her short, fluffy tail. “There’s really no denying it, pet. Anyone would agree. Don’t you?”
Bunny had no words. The Baroness was so close to her now. The fey was so much taller - had Bunny shrunk a little? - and she had to crane her neck to look at her. When she did, she was greeted only with the fey’s wide, sharp, possessive grin. Bunny’s gaze shot back to the ground. The Baroness’s arms were all around her. The way she was stroking her tail felt almost as incredible as the way she was stroking her ears, and the Baroness didn’t stop there. She drew her reaching fingertips back across Bunny’s hips, lingering for a minute to feel her new, huge, plush ass, stroking up and down along her bare skin. It was all Bunny could do not to sigh and moan. Why did her body have to be so sensitive all of a sudden?
“Oh, these new curves are wonderful,” the Baroness breathed appreciatively. “I told you that you’d make a fine rabbit. I’m going to enjoy these very, very much.”
Bunny shivered with more than just fear at the naked lust dripping from the fey’s voice. But… she had to resist. Had to get home. She had to. She had to.
“I’m… nnnn… s-stop,” Bunny pleaded. It was so unfair. How was so supposed to think with the Baroness touching her this way?
“Yes,” the Baroness readily agreed, quieting Bunny with her voice. “Yes, yes, yes. Time to stop thinking. Time to sink. Are you ready for that, Bunny? Let’s see.”
Still gently and methodically stroking Bunny’s ears, she removed her other hand from the girl’s hips and raised it to her lips, using her slender fingertips to slowly part Bunny’s lips. Bunny’s reaction was instinctive and immediate. She opened her mouth, allowing the Baroness to slip a pair of fingers into her mouth. Bunny suckled on them helplessly, like the obedient pet she was rapidly becoming. She couldn’t help it. Her body was eager to accept the Baroness’s attentions. Maybe it wasn’t really her body anymore. It had been changed; twisted and transformed to suit the Baroness’s whims. She no longer had any doubt her mind would soon follow.
“Good. Good girl.” The praise set Bunny’s cheeks ablaze. “You know, this is one way to tell if a rabbit is nice and comfortable with you. They’ll start licking you and suckling on you. It’s adorable, quite frankly. I’m glad to see you’re getting comfortable with me, my sweet little rabbit. Your tongue is going to be so very, very useful.”
Bunny’s cheeks were still burning, now with shame. She was… suckling? Why? It was so embarrassing. But… she couldn’t stop. She didn’t want to stop. She wanted to do what came naturally. So tired. So easy to sink.
“Now… look at me,” the Baroness instructed. She pressed her thumb up under Bunny’s chin, manipulating her head. Bunny was putty in her grasp. The Baroness tilted her head back, making her look up. “Look into me.”
Bunny met the Baroness’s inhuman gaze, and was enraptured. The colors in the fey’s eyes shimmered, and the rabbit girl felt them shimmering within her too. Her mind had grown soft and sleepy. It was easily dazzled. The last little bit of tension and strength she’d been holding in her body drained away, and she slumped visibly.
“What do you see, little bunny rabbit?” the Baroness asked, slipping her fingers out of Bunny’s mouth.
“I… I….” Bunny murmured sleepily, a small trail of drool escaping her lips. Her eyes were wide, her pupils dilated. She saw the Baroness, and the Baroness was beautiful. How had she ever been afraid of her? This faerie was such a strange, elegant creature. She was magnificent. Indescribable. Compared to her, Bunny felt so small, so humble. But there was safety in that smallness, especially since the Baroness wanted her as a pet. Bunny could scarcely believe it was so. This beauty wanted her? Bunny couldn’t wrap her head around it. But that was OK. She knew the Baroness would help her understand. “Y-you.”
“Me?” the Baroness laughed. “And what am I?” Bunny sensed she already knew the answer.
“My… my… my…” Bunny knew what she wanted to say. What she craved. She just didn’t quite know how to say it.
“It’s OK, sweet Bunny,” the Baroness soothed. The Baroness was so kind to her. “There’s time for titles later. No need to push yourself.” Bunny’s face relaxed into a warm smile. So kind. She was so grateful for the Baroness’s hand in her hair, still softly stroking her ears. The Baroness’s touch was everything to her. “I just need one little thing from you, my precious pet. One little thing. I know, I know speaking is hard, but I’m sure you can do this. For me. Just… tell me what you are.”
“I’m… I’m…” Bunny’s brow furrowed. It was hard. Thinking was hard. She knew what she wanted to say. The words rose eagerly to her lips. But… there was something else, wasn’t there? Something she was supposed to be fighting for. Something she was supposed to be trying to get back to. It was… it was…
Then, the Baroness stroked her ear one more time, and it was gone.
Bunny’s face relaxed into a contented smile. It wasn’t hard at all. She knew the answer. She just had to do what came naturally.
“I’m your pet rabbit,” she confessed, sealing her own fate.
“Perfect! Good girl!” Bunny giggled gently and nuzzled at the Baroness’s arm, as the fey bent down to kiss the top of her head. All memory of her old life faded. This was her reality now. Her truth. She was a pet. She was Bunny.
“Come now, my pet. Let’s return to my home - and yours.” The Baroness took Bunny’s hand and started leading her back through the maze.
“You know the way?” Bunny asked timidly.
“Of course,” the Baroness told her. “Trust me.”
Bunny did. She trusted the Baroness.
“I won’t take long. Believe me, I’m very eager to get you back into my bed.” The Baroness laughed. “Besides being cute and awfully fun to chase, do you know what else rabbits are very, very good for?”
“What?”
The Baroness licked her inhuman lips with a very, very long tongue.
“Breeding.”

A new series of poisonous mushrooms began to invade one of the cave systems in the Avidya Forest. As one of the Forest Rangers in the sea of grand trees, Tighnari took it upon himself to seek these new species out and pray to the Dendro Archon for the empty-headed adventurers to heed his warnings and lectures about these fungi once he got his hands on them and study them before anyone else come across them.
"Master Tighnari, are you sure you could handle this on your own?" Collei asked, worry laced within her tone as she watched the fennec fox-hybrid ranger prepare himself a travel bag with all the necessary equipment he needed. Tighnari nodded his head towards the question, not sparing the green-haired girl a look as he dug through some cabinets for empty jars.
"Of course I can, Collei. These new specimens are a true hazard for anyone less experienced than me." Tighnari answered, stuffing the empty jars he found in one of his cabinets carefully into a new travel bag. Collei pouted. Brown-green eyes finally spare a single look towards her, a soft sigh leaving his lips as he slowed his movements. "I promise I won't try anything rash." He added, turning his body to face her completely. "And if I do need any help, I'll let Iraj know as he is near the cavern, afterall." Tighnari reassured the young girl before returning back to his preparations.
Despite the reassurance she received from the forest watcher, Collei's mind was still not at ease. There was a deep feeling inside her chest, urging her to stop the other vision user from going to investigate the mysterious mushrooms. Though, part of her believed Tighnari would be fine. He was the forest watcher after all, having to study the forest and its ecosystem. There was no reason to doubt him. "Alright… Please be careful, Master." Collei said quietly, bowing her head before leaving the hut of the fox-hybrid.
Tighnari let out a deep sigh. He appreciated Collei's concerns. She wasn't the only one worried about his sudden decision to investigate the growing problem within the Gandha Hill cavern. Aether and Paimon were the first to come across the fungi when they entered the cave for some lousy treasure. They were thankful Tighnari caught sight of them before they ventured further into the cave.
It was the horrendous smell that caught Tighnari's attention when he first entered the cavern after spotting the traveler and his small flying companion head in. Just from the sight of it above the cliff looking over the ground of the cavern was enough to tell it was a new species of poison mushrooms along with the nauseating aroma.
"Hopefully this scarf could keep the smell away." Tighnari muttered as he picked up the two travel bags he prepared, pulling the scarf over his head, careful with his long ears, and pulling it over his nose.
"Tighnari! There you are! Collei said you planned to go investigate the weird fungi we found. Do you need help? Aether here can come along!" Paimon exclaimed as she floated over to the forest watcher with the traveler walking up behind her, an apologetic look on his face. Tighnari winced at the loud voice of Paimon, his ears twitching down in displeasure.
Shaking his head, he waved the duo off. "No, no, it's fine. Like I told Collei, this is a mission for me rather than those inexperienced. We don't know what the mushrooms and their effects do, which is why I have to be the one to check on them. Please, I appreciate your concerns but I would rather you guys stay safe here than follow me through with this investigation of mine." Tighnari stated firmly, giving the pair a small smile. "Just stay here with Collei, I promise I'll come back before the night falls." With those words out, Tighnari didn't wait any second longer and headed down the path leading towards the entrance of the Gandha Hill cavern.
"Alright, Iraj, if anything happens in Gandharva Ville, please come get me." Tighnari said, looking over his shoulder towards the forest ranger who gave a firm nod. "And if anything happens to me, keep an ear out."
"Yes, Master Tighnari! I'll do my best." Iraj declared with another firm nod.
Tighnari gave him a quick nod before turning to the entrance of the cavern. "Here goes nothing…" He muttered under his breath.
The path leading to the ground of the cavern was shorter than he thought it would be. Tighnari peeked over the cliff. There they were. The new set of poison mushrooms huddled together in the small pool of water in front of the cliff. With careful steps, Tighnari made his way down to the ground level of the large cave. He looked around for any other potential threats in the area, his long ears seeking out for any small sound. Determined there was no other danger, Tighnari set a camp a few yards away from the pool of water. The equipment he had brought was set out nicely on top of a blanket beside the notebook and pen he brought to document any behavior from the fungi.
With a huff, Tighnari sat on the rug he set up. He wanted to take the scarf off but he doubted he would be able to handle the stench of the fungus. Despite the short travel between the cave under Gandha Hill, it still exhausted the fox-hybrid out. It didn't take him long to rest well, either. Tighnari stood up from the ground and walked over to the starting crowd of the fungi after picking up his pen and notebook. "Hm… Aside from the horrible stench, it stands out with a rosy pink cap and a lilac stem. It seems to be covered with moss as well." Tighnari told no one, his eyes shifting between the notebook and the mushroom as he scribbled down his observations.
"I wonder…" His words trailed off as Tighnari placed his pen and notebook down beside him. A gloved hand reached down and plugged one of the mushrooms out of the ground. Pulling the scarf down to his mouth, Tighnari grimaced at the aroma of the fungi invading his personal space, trying his damndest not to gag. "C'mon, Tighnari, tough it o-out…" He said through gritted teeth. His tail swung to get rid of somewhat of the stench as his hand neared the mushroom towards his slightly parted lips. His eyes were squinted. The top of the fungus looked weirdly spiraled.
A flash pierced against his vision. Tighnari let out a yelp as he dropped the mushroom and quickly got back on his feet after backing away hurriedly from the small group of fungi. His eyes were widen with alert, his body tensed as he held his bow out to defend himself. He panted, his heart ready to jump out of his throat as it raced against his chest.
"Wha—what…" Tighnari swallowed dryly as he glanced down at the mushroom he took out. There was no bite on it, so why did he see his life flashed before his eyes. Did the terrible smell finally get to his head!? Was he hallucinating from it? Tighnari was confused but upon closer observation he noticed the mushroom was pierced by a sharp… point of a trident… What?
Tighnari tensed his body once more. Where did the trident came from? There was no one here but himself. His fingers tightened around his bow. His ears were high alert for any sound.
"My, that was a close one, wasn't it?" An unfamiliar voice said above him coolly. Tighnari whipped his head around, his wide brown-green eyes landed on a figure who sat on the edge of the cliff. A frown creased his features. The forest watcher kept his weapon, taking a step back away from the new intruder.
"Who are you!? In fact, what are you doing here!? This area is off limits at the moment." Tighnari stated, his eyes narrowed towards the figure.
"What a strange way to say thank you…" The new face said as they raised a hand and snapped their fingers. Tighnari blinked as he glanced at their hand and towards the silver trident, which was no longer stabbing the mushroom he had in his hands moments before. "You should be lucky I was around the area to stop you from eating that deadly fungus." They added, hopping off the cliff and huffed when they landed a few feet away from Tighnari. Confusion swimmed in the forest watcher's eyes towards their words.
"What are you talking about? Were you the one who attacked me with that weapon?"
"Attacking is a strong word… I like the word helping more."
Tighnari scoffed, not a single trace of his weapon being lower down.
"Once again, who are you? Why did you atta—"
"Helped."
"Whatever! Why did you do that!?" Tighnari was growing frustrated. The figure tilted their head to one side, their disinterested eyes staring at Tighnari unnerving.
"You were about to eat a deadly mushroom. I've saved you from meeting your end too soon." They stated with a shrug, a bored look on their face. Tighnari frowned.
"How do you know they're deadly? What if it would just upset my stomach?" Tighnari retorted, his weapon faltering a bit.
"I've seen it… Your body wouldn't be discovered until further into the nighttime. By the time they find you, you'll be nothing but a wide eyed, purple lifeless body with moss growing out of your mouth." They said, their eyes glancing down at the mushroom which had slowly died out, withering away. Tighnari stared at them with a disturbed expression on his face.
The forest watcher couldn't believe what he was hearing. There was no way any of that could happen. Letting out a laughable scoff, Tighnari put his weapon down. "Hah! Ye-yeah right… There's no way that would happen. What, did you—did you try it yourself and come back to life?" He mused, not believing a single word that came out of their mouth. The other stared at Tighnari, leaving him feeling uneasy.
"No, I'm not stupid like you." Their words caught Tighnari off guard, his perplexed frown increasing further. "I figured you won't believe me… I've planned to just save you from your early fate and create a diversion to throw you off but I decided to stay and let you know what happened instead… I regret it now." They added, looking over at his small campsite. "By the way, Tighnari, do you always go around eating strange mushrooms?" Hearing his name rolled out their tongue made Tighnari freeze on the spot once more.
"How do you know my name? I've never told you…" Tighnari said quietly, raising his bow once more.
"Ah, how rude of me…" Ignoring his question, the figure crossed their arms over their chest. "I'm (Name)." They said with a small grin, . "And I can see your future."

Chapters 1&2
A witchcraft x ESMP Au I've been working on for a while now
Shelby watched as the other emperors battled Sausage Supreme. Gem, Joel, and Jimmy were focusing all their firepower at the former protector of Sanctuary while the others battled with the large sculk tentacles preventing anyone from engaging with Sausage directly. Shelby looked down at the spell circle Gem had told her to cast.
<><Flashback><>
“It all comes down to Shelby.”
Shelby looked at Gem, stunned. It has only been a few hours since Gem had dropped the newsbomb that she used to be a wizard. And not just any wizard either. No, she was the wizard that founded the Crystal Cliffs Wizarding Academy, the direct rival of the Witches Academy.
“What do you mean, it's all on her?” Joe questioned, “the only reason we're in this mess is because she’s a bad witch!”
Katherine smacked him on the back of his head. “JOE!”
“We need Shelby to do it Joe, she’s the only one besides me who has experience casting complex spells.”
“Well then why can't you do it Gem?” Fwhip asked.
Gem sighed, “because I'm the reason he’s here. I defeated Supreme once, and now he’s back for revenge. That makes me the perfect bait.” the princess-turned-wizard (or was it Wizard-turned-princess, Shelby couldn’t decide) turned to Shelby. “You cured Cub from his corruption, you can cure Sausage of his.”
Shelby looked around at the other emperors staring at her before taking a deep breath and turning to Gem. “What’s the spell?”
<><Present day><>
Gold from Joel, Prismarine from Joey, iron from False, flowers from Scott, copper from Pix, slime and crystals from Lizzie, and a blue mushroom she had found in the Gnome Ruins.
Briiiinng
Oh, and Oli was contributing with a small musical performance, which he was tuning up  as she was placing the last of the redstone to connect the items. The witch turned to the bard.
“You ready Oli?” he nodded and stepped into place along the outer edge of the spell. “Santa Perla, Pearl, Help us clean up this mess!” he shouted before beginning a small tune on his lute.
I heard there a secret chord,
That David played and it pleased the lord,
But you don't really care for music do ya?
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth,
The Minor falls and the Major lifts..
Shelby let Oli’s singing fade into the background of her mind as she summoned her magic. Gem had told her that the original spell was used to trap a demon, but she had altered it to capture only the soul of Sausage supreme and not Sausage’s physical body that the dark Mage was possessing. To activate the spell, she needed to summon all the mana she possibly could to throw into the center of the circle. But she needed to wait for the right moment.
Shelby looked up and watched the battle. Gem had her butterfly wings and princess dress, but she was dual wielding a sword and a Wizard’s staff that held an amethyst at the top, which glowed with power as Gem cast spell after spell, sending spikes of purple crystal at the possessed Sausage. Joel was throwing bolts of lightning at the TNT Jimmy was chucking at the tentacles.
“NOW SHELBY!” Gem suddenly shouted, pulling Shelby back to the spell. But in the confusion, she forgot to properly check her magic and it exploded as soon as she activated the spell. She cried out as she was thrown back against the wall, everything fading to black.
<><><>
When Shelby came to, she was lying on the ground, her feet trapped by a large piece of rubble. Grunting, she sat up and shoved it off of her. The witch stood up and looked around.
The magical explosion had completely decimated the portion of the spawn citadel that they had been fighting in. Dust hung in the air, making it near impossible for the witch to see. She could barely make out the piece of rubble that had fallen on her. The Witch looked around to see if she could spot any of her allies but she couldn't. She shook her head in an attempt to get rid of the ringing in her ears. It worked slightly, and she could hear someone shouting. But the noise was muffled, like she was underwater.
Shelby moved closer to the shouting and soon recognized the voice as Joe's
“Where is she? Where is that witch!”
The witch in question hid behind one of the standing pillars, hiding from the pirate as Gem tried to pacify him.
“Joe calm down.”
“No Gem, she almost messed up the spell and we all nearly died. If-”
“Wait, where is shelby?”Katherine interrupted the pirate king.
"I don't know," Joel said, "But I don't see Sausage either."
"SAUSAGE, SHELBY!" Fwhip called out and the others soon joined him.
Shelby was about to step out, but something held her back. She didn't know what it was. But then she heard Jimmy’s voice
“Wait Guys, what's that?”
“Isn't that Shelby’s hat?”
Shelby felt at the top of her head to find that her hat was, in fact, not there.
"If Shelby’s hat is here," Lizzie asked, "then where's Shelby?"
"SHELBY WHERE ARE YOU!" Katherine called out in a panicked voice. Shelby’s heart twisted. Even after the 'truce' at Oli's Rift Festival - which Joe didn't even hold up his end - Shelby still couldn't get rid of her feelings for the warrior princess. But now she realized why her subconscious had told her not to reveal herself.
This is perfect, she thought, if they think I'm dead then when the Academy comes looking for me, I'll have an alibi. Joe probably won't believe it, since he saw my letter to Grandma, but it's not like anyone really took him seriously aside from Sausage.
With her mind made up and a faint plan of action in mind, Shelby quietly pulled out her broom and flew away toward the Evermoor to get the needed supplies.
When she showed up at her witch hat house, both Mother Toad and Tortoise, her familiar, were waiting for her.
She rushed inside and grabbed a small bag that no one would notice was missing, quickly filling it with a few potion ingredients, food, a cloak, and one of her leftover Magic Gem Crystals. On her way back out, she grabbed a long navy blue hooded cloak so 5hat she could still move around undetected. She ran back out to her broom, mounted, then remembered. She quickly dismounted and picked up Tortoise. The purple toad stared at her and gave a small ribbit.
" Don't tell Sausage you saw me, OK? They need to believe that I'm dead." Shelby turned to Mother Toad as well. "You too, please." With that she set down Tortoise and turned back to her broom. Tortoise took a few hops towards her, but she pushed him back.
“I'm sorry Tortoise, but if I take you with me, they’ll know that I'm not dead.” she kissed her familiar on the head. “Keep the evermoor and the gnome spirits safe for me, OK?” Tortoise croaked twice and she took that as an answer. With one last look at the mangrove trees surrounding her home, she hopped on her broom and took off.

Kenpachi Zaraki (Bleach) Chapter 2
Tumblr media
Talk of your battle spread like wildfire.
You couldn't get around without whispers following and now you were  actually being set up for missions.
“Damn it all.” You sulked in your barrack and Shinji laughed.
“Sorry your secret got out.”
It was a drag. You need to do your job now.
“Why me..”
Shinji pats your head as you whine into the couch.
“Cheer up.”
You tried. As you went about your day, you did your best to drown out all the talk. It wasn’t the attention you wanted or needed. Casually walking through the barracks to deliver papers, you slowed down when you saw a familiar head of navy hair.
His eyes raised the minute he saw you. He seemed to be doing the same.
“(Y/N)-san!”
His face lit up, and he bowed despite the heavy stack in his hands.
“Thank you for the last time. B-Both of them I guess.” He straightened, laughing awkwardly.
The smile he wore, you couldn’t but compare it to one you remembered so many years ago.
“I almost forgot it.”
His face felt like a distant image.
“Tarou-kun..”
A painful memory.
“No worries. I should get going.” You lowered your head continuing on your way. Hanataro watched your retreating form in interest as you disappeared down the hall.
The rest of the day was surprisingly calm. Thankfully you never encountered the rowdy captain who had messed up your entire plan to fly under the radar. Every time you thought about it you got pissed.
“Spikey-chan!!”
The yell catches your attention. The second you see that dark hair your face goes sour. Kenpachi has a grin planted on his face.
“We finally found you and it only took twelve hours this time!” Yachiru cheered. For a moment you thought she was joking. But she was still smiling earnestly.
“They weren’t joking about their terrible sense of direction.”
It was actually a relief. Hopefully you could see less of him.
“I don’t have time for games. I need to get back to my squad.”
“Fight me first.” Kenpachi drew his sword.
You just walked past him.
“Not interested.”
He frowned.
“What a waste of strength.”
Kenpachi’s statement wasn’t a surprise.
“Flaunting my strength doesn’t benefit me at all. The head captain might get the wrong idea and try to put me in some dumb position. Who needs that hassle?”
Yachiru smiles.  “You’re funny!”
“Anyway, see you later Zaraki-taicho.”
Hopefully not.
“What if I pick a fight with the meek little mushroom, I bet you’d come running.” You froze in your spot. His words don't sound taunting. It was like he was trying to figure you out.
“You like the little shrimp, that’s good motivation. We saw you that day with the menos. It was just the kind of power I’ve been looking to challenge. “
Your fist tightened at your side.
For some reason, him mentioning Hanataro made you angry. You knew he was just messing with you. Kenpachi wasn’t so tasteless as to attack Hanataro. It became clear that he knew you would respond when he struck that day. Now it makes sense. He’d seen you fight the menos. So he’d scoped you out.
“People like you..”
You glanced to the side of you, looking at him.
“Really piss me off.”
Kenpachi felt the rise in reiatsu that swept over at the statement, and just as he prepared for battle, you were gone.
“Eh!! Ken-chan you made her mad! Now she’ll never fight you.”
Kenpachi kept a steady hold on his blade, internalizing that expression on your face.

Drowning
I wrote this for Whumptober 14, forgot, wrote something else, and here is the OG - Water Inhalation.
-
“This is new,” Northlight whispers hoarsely.
Annalise doesn’t seem to notice. She brought Northlight on their trolley through the lab and into a different room, one with tiled walls and floor. It’s just her and Northlight alone, which terrifies them, and there are no cameras. She has a crutch today, which means she’s going to do something horrific that uses up her magical reserves.
She’s not so different to Irene, but she takes something deeper than blood.
The room is dimly lit, only the slight from the doorway showing through. Northlight wonders if this experiment is authorised or not. She wouldn’t be alone if it was, would she? They pray she doesn’t have hat much power.
She turns to the wall, where a tap is set into the tiles, directly above a drain. Wet rooms make them nervous. Too much dripping.
She turns the tap on with her free hand. Water splatters down the wall before the  pipes kick in, and then it splashes down like a tiny waterfall. The feel their throat dry out just hearing it. It’s been so long since the actually drank water, instead of being hydrated through a tube. They can only remember the saliva experiment, which relieved their dry mouth only to make it much worse.
A shadow falls in the doorway. They glance over and their heart sinks. Caroline is there at the threshold, watching.
Annalise hums softly, a tremulous note. She adjusts its pitch until she finds the one she wants, takes a breath, and hums more steadily. Her hands pull at the air around the tap, and the stream of water bends with the motions. She draws it away from the wall and a tendril comes free, floating with her as she moves, guiding it like a balloon on a string.
Northlight has seen water witches at work before, and this isn’t revolutionary. But they shrink back all the same as the water draws near. If she’s as powerful as she seems, the water will be like an extension of her own body.
She extends it up to their face, and they feel a flash of panic, remembering years of tipping their head into a flow of water, arms stretched out to either side of them, temple walls keeping them safely hidden awa…
The water presses to their lips and they flinch away, turning their head, shuddering at the contact of her magic to theirs. It aches. Even though it’s water and water alone, there’s still a trace, a scent, of the magic she has taken from them.
Annalise steps closer, eyes narrowed as she leans over them. They can’t move away as she hums again, calling he water into a thin stream. Eyes on its motion, they’re unprepared for her to grab, squeezing them by the jaw and, with a shrill note, directs the stream between their teeth in an icy wash.
It doesn’t pause across their tongue but dives into their throat and they lurch in their restraints, pulling against the feeling of water in their airway. They cough, chest jerking, but nothing comes up except a few droplets. Annalise, still standing over them with her nails digging into their cheeks, maintains control over the water that floods their lungs.
They try to breathe, and feel the pressure of air against the intrusion, shivering as the flow moves of its own accord like ice between their tissues. They can’t help but cough again, remembering illnesses they’ve had before where fluid comes up. But no matter how much they jerk and hack at the air, nothing moves. Nothing comes. They can’t breathe.
Annalise looks down at them. In recent days, her blind eye seems to have a different light, one closer to the silvery gleam they have seen in their own, on good days where time and space behave. They stare into it, wondering if they are seeing their own magic inside her stare.
Dark spots begin to mushroom in their eyes. She won’t let it move. It won’t settle. There’s not even a rattle. Each breath is tiny, twitching, not enough, and they can’t figure out if it hurts or if it’s just horrifying.
Her hand releases their face, and she lifts it. Their torso bends upwards as she does, resisting the feeling of the water coming back up, tearing their throat, running ice up into their mouth where the taste of their own lungs passes through and they open their mouth to let it out, gagging and coughing again as she finally draws it free.
It goes to rest in a glass bowl and Northlight fights their restraints for the right to roll onto their side and curl up, listening to the stray droplets crackle as they breathe hard. She didn’t do, or didn’t care to do, a clean job.
Annalise heads for the door with the glass bowl in her free hand. They can’t look to see if Caroline is still there. They can barely life their head. Every deep inhalation feels like a miracle. The feeling haunts them, like they’ve swallowed the drip itself. They try, softly, to speak a word to the air. Resuscitation. It comes out a patterned rasp.
They breathe more shallowly, trying not to feel the struggle with slower breaths. They’ve found a rhythm that doesn’t make them dizzy by the time Kurt comes in.
It’s rare now, for Northlight to be alone with the doctor. They keep their eyes on Kurt, even as their chest bucks with a weak cough. It’s not for the sake of sympathy; they know that there’s no use. Kurt looked into their eyes and acknowledged their life, and decided they were an acceptable loss. Or, not, that wasn’t fair. They weren’t going to be that kind of loss. But he did decide that their right to life should be siphoned away for everyone else’s sake.
He looks tired. But they’re tired too.

I forgot I was a writer too lmao
Anyways this is Part 1 of Funky Kong involvements in the Mario Movie and how I think it will play out.
Disclaimer: This writing may not be accurate towards the actual movie but it’s kind of a replica of how it went down.
—————————————————————————
After the battle between Mario and DK, Cranky Kong agreed to join forces with Peach in defending her Kingdom against Bowser, the King of Koopas.
Mario and Peach are talking among themselves outside of a tree house on a porch. “That was an incredible fight out there, Mario. Thank you for doing this.” Peach said. Mario looks up at Peach with an ice pack on his cheek as he forms a smile “Hey I was just doing what I felt was right”. Peach smiles back at Mario “thanks to your win, we now have the kongs by our side and together we can defeat Bowser and save my kingdom”.
Out of nowhere, DK slams the door wide open behind Peach and Mario “I let him win! By the way.”. Mario and Peach turn to DK, startled, then Mario replies back “were you eavesdropping our conversation?”.
“Well.. it’s also called mind YOUR BUSINESS!” DK yelled as he picked up a barrel and threw it at Mario. Mario quickly ducks down to dodge the barrel and gives the ice pack in Peach’s hand as he pulls his sleeves up “Alright big monkey I beat you once and I will do it again.”
DK and Mario get up at each other's faces as they are ready to start a fight until Cranky Kong hits their faces with a cane as he walks through “Enough rough housing you two and get inside! We got work to do”. The two back off and head inside, followed by Peach behind the two.
Inside of the tree house, there is a map of the kingdoms and some markings as Cranky Kong walks to it “so that Bowser guy is heading towards the Mushroom Kingdom am I correct? So what we can do is to try to cut him off”. “Yes but where exactly?” Peach asked as she stood next to Cranky. Cranky scoffs a bit and looks up at Peach “Since his island is floating towards your kingdom, there is an area where we can ride on”. Peach looks down at Cranky with her eyes widened “Ride?”.
“Why yes, if you don’t know there is a rainbow road near my kingdom. That road is around the area where Bowser is floating to. If we ride there, we have a higher chance of beating him down there” Cranky said as he slammed his cane on the map where the rainbow road is located. Peach eyes lit up as she looks at the map and turns to Cranky, excitedly “That is an excellent plan, Cranky!- I mean your highness”.
“I’ll leave you off with a warning.. This time.” Cranky adjusted his glasses as he turned to Mario and DK, “then it’s settled then. Let us go to the Kart department and get our karts ready for battle.” “Heck yeah! I hope Funky is there, I haven't seen him all day” DK exclaimed as he got off the hammock and dashed out the door. “You just saw him before your fight you imbecile!” Cranky yelled as he tried to keep up with DK, leaving Peach and Mario alone together.
The two look at each other, confused “Funky?”. “Whoever this Funky is, I bet he is a really cool guy! Let’s go karting!” Toad yelled in excitement as he ran out the door. Mario and Peach just shrugged and followed Toad behind, a little excited.
Later on, Mario, Peach, Toad, Cranky Kong, and DK soon come down from the elevator and are greeted by a team of so many kongs working together, building the karts, attaching the barrels, etc. One of the Kongs is spotted patrolling around the scene to make sure the karts are modified properly for the fight. A kong with purple sunglasses, wearing a polka dot bandana, and a white tank top with some blue shorts to match with the look. As soon as DK spotted this Kong, he immediately dashes towards him “FUNKY!”.
Funky Kong looks up to see DK running towards him and opens his arms with a smile “DK!”. DK quickly goes into a ball and rolls towards Funky, causing him to fall back onto the ground. Cranky Kong shakes his head as he walks towards the two kongs “we don’t have time to play around you two, we got a kingdom to defend”. “You should know that I can’t help myself whenever this kong is around,” DK said as he hit Funky Kong's arm with his elbow. Funky Kong snickers as he rubs his arm “Don’t worry old man, your kart is ready and polished by my kart at the entrance”. Cranky Kong huffs and walks off before turning to Mario, Toad, and Peach “Funky Kong will lead you to the station where the karts are made, now have fun.. I guess”.
“Just go and wait for us old man” Funky Kong shoves Cranky a bit as he gets up and goes to Mario, Peach, and Toad with DK following behind.
“So who do we got here, big man?” Funky Kong asked as he looked at DK. “Well here we got the princess and the protector of the Mushroom Kingdom, Princess Peach, alongside with her is a Toad, then there… that one.” DK said in an annoyed tone as he pointed at Mario. “Hey it’s Mario, you ape.” Mario said insultingly.
“Oh so you’re Mario huh?” Funky Kong said with a smile as he looked down at Mario, “Well it's nice to finally meet Cha”.
“The names Funky Kong. DK’s older brother” Funky Kong said as he lifted up his sunglasses. There was a moment of silence between the group until Peach, Mario, and Toad yells “BROTHER!?!”. DK sweats a bit as he looks away “Whaaa older brother???? I think you got it all wrong sir, don’t you mean I'M the older brother?”. “Mmmm I don’t know, maybe this picture of me holding a baby DK could say otherwise” Funky Kong said as he took a picture out of his pocket and showed it to them. The pictures show a young Funky holding a baby DK for the first time.
“AWWWWW THAT IS SO CUTE!” Toad exclaims as Peach smiles at the picture. However, Mario started to laugh hysterically at the sight of it “Oh my god that’s how you look like as a baby!?! I gotta have a copy of this and put it on a T-Shirt”.
DK soon turns red out of embarrassment and snatches the picture out of Funky’s hand “Funky I told you not to show that to anyone!”. Funky Kong grabs the picture back and puts it back in his pocket as he chuckles “Next time when we have guests here, don’t be denying that I’m your older brother, little bro”. “Fineeee” DK exclaims in frustration. “Also your kart is ready for ya” Funky said as he pats DK’s back. “HECK YEAH!” DK runs off to go find it while Funky Kong watches him with a smile. “Alright let’s get started on y’all’s karts”. Funky said as he turned around while clapping his hands together, “just follow me back here and my team will get started on your karts”.
The group starts following Funky to the station. Mario holds his hands together as he looks down a bit. Just watching Funky and DK being good brothers makes him feel even more lonely. He dearly misses his brother Luigi. He hates being separated from Luigi, and being apart from him for this long is killing him terribly.
Peach noticed Mario’s little action and put her hand on his shoulder for condolence “we will save him, Mario, don’t worry”.
“I know but… I really hope he’s okay” Mario replied.
“Alright here we are, my team behind it will help you with your dream kart” Funky whistles and three Kongs comes out behind the machine, waiting for the group to start on the kart making, “Well what are you waiting for, go and make your karts''. The group look at each other and Toad runs to the machine quickly all excited, then Peach and Mario follow behind. “Meet us at the big door once y’all are done, okay? Don’t be late!” Funky runs off to get on his kart.
Mario looks at the options then looks at Toad, who is working on his kart excitedly. He then looks to the right to see Peach is already finished with her kart and presses the “A” button. Finally, he starts to get started on his own kart, which the Kong in his station starts working on.
After the crew finish up their karts, they start driving around having the best time of their lives. Mario spins around next to DK as Peach drives behind him. DK looks down at Mario then leans out of his car when he looks up at him and whispers “I hate you”. Which made Mario switch from smiling to frowning.
Funky jumps over Mario and DK in his motorcycle and lands on the ground as he does some twirls in it while shouting in excitement “ALRIGHT KONGS! We gotta make sure that we show those koopas that we show no mercy! Now open the doors and let's get to battle!”. The army of Kongs cheers out loud as some of the mechanic kongs press a button to open the door.
“Hey DK, the last one on the rainbow road is a rotten banana!” Funky said quickly before riding off at a fast velocity. “Oh it is ON!” DK speeds off going after Funky. Peach eyes sparkles and raises her arm up as she starts speeding off as well “HERE WE GO!”. Mario and Toad follow behind as the rest of the Kong army starts out of the station and onto the road.
Mario looked out a bit to admire the sight until he spotted a ramp “Uh guys don’t want to alarm y’all but we are reaching at the end of the road”. Cranky drives next to Mario as he laughs “So? It’s called pumping the gas”. Mario hesitated a bit until he took a deep breath and slammed on the gas. Resulting him speeding past Funky and DK and moving towards the ramp at a fast pace. He closes his eyes as he zooms off the ramp while letting out a scream in fear.
But as soon as he opens his eyes, he looks down to see a rainbow revealing itself between the clouds. His eyes light up at the sight of the colorful road until it hits him that he is falling and starts screaming again.
Mario finally lands on the rainbow and drives at ease as he lets out some huffs and puffs to calm himself down. He looks around one more time to take a moment on where he is. It felt like a dream but this is reality. He jumps up with the kart in excitement as he yells “Wah who!”. The rest of the kong army, alongside Peach and Toad, drives behind him after landing on the road.
“Isn’t the rainbow road great? It’s so colorful” Peach said as she drove next to Mario.
“Yeah literally, we don’t ride on rainbows like this back at Brooklyn though” Mario replied as he chuckles a bit. Peach raises an eyebrow “Seriously? What are you gonna tell me next, turtles aren’t evil?”. “Oh yeah they’re not, they’re usually pets” Mario answers.
“No way,” Peach said in shock.
“Yeah come down to Brooklyn some time, i’ll buy you a pet turtle” Mario suggested with a smile. Peach giggles a bit “Maybe I will”.
“Dude, is this you flirting? This is painful!” DK said while riding next to Peach. “Hey I was trying to be nice here” Mario replied. “You’re so embarrassing, a princess will never go out with you,” DK added. “Yes she would, I guarantee she would!” Toad said, defending Mario. “Guys enough” Peach laughs a bit as she looks at Toad and DK.
Funky rides up between Mario and Peach “y’all heard the princess, back off”. DK snickers as he backs up with Toad. Peach looks up at Funky “Thank you, Funky”.
“Anytime, DK can be such a tease when it comes to this stuff” Funky whispers at the end. “With no regrets!” DK yelled. Funky and Peach laugh together a bit as Mario rolls his eyes “your brother is something else”. “Mm? Oh yeah but he is pretty chill when you get to know him” Funky replied while looking down at Mario.
“Yeah if that would ever happen with me any time soon” Mario said to himself.
Funky frowns at the sight a bit “hey is there something going on in your mind? It looks like something is bothering you”. Mario looks up at Funky, feeling a little hesitant a bit “I.. I don’t know if I should say or share anything with you”. “If you are worried about being made fun of then don’t, I’m not like DK you know” Funky reassures Mario as he forms a trusting smile. Mario smiles back at Funky then sighs “I don’t know, ever since I found out that DK is your little brother and the way you and him treat each other, it just reminds me of my own little brother. His name is Luigi and we practically do everything together- heck we even opened our own plumbing business. But now that we are separated, I could only imagine the worst things he must've gone through while I’m doing all this. We’ve never been this separated for this long before and I’m starting to get really worried about him. I don’t know what I’ll do if he..”. Silence grew between Mario and Funky for a moment. Soon Funky breaks the silence “I'm.. I’m sorry to hear that man. But don’t forget about one thing about having a little sibling; They will always look at the bright side of things. Even though he is in a tough situation, he feels hopeful. Why? Because he has a brother that is determined to bring him home safe and sound. You may not know this but sometimes, he looks up to you as an inspirational person.”.
“You.. You really think so?” Mario asked.
“Well from experience, yes, but this isn't about me or DK. This is about you and your relationship with your brother Luigi. He believes in you. No matter what the situation is, he will always believe in you.” Funky answered as he lowered his sunglasses down. Mario smiles at Funky “Wow.. Who knew I would get some good advice from a monkey”. “Well you don’t hear that every day am I right?” Funky laughs a bit and Mario joins in.
But the laughter soon came to a halt as one of the kongs in the army faltered by a koopa shell. Funky takes a pair of binoculars out of the bag that is on his vehicle and looks through it “Shoot, it’s an ambush!”.
“Oh crud, what do we do?” Peach asked as she looked back to see a group of koopas in carts driving behind the army. Funky thinks for a bit then snaps his fingers ``Split formation, I need a group of two; First group stick with me, DK, and Dad to fight in the front while the other group stick with the princess, the toad, and the red man to fight at the back. GO GO GO!”. Funky pushes the gas as he speeds away from Peach, Mario, and Toad so that DK, Cranky, and the first group of Kongs follow his lead.
The army of kongs starts shooting bananas at the koopas in Mario’s group to slow them down but that doesn't stop a certain koopa as it pushes through the other Koopas; The Blue Shell Koopa.
The Blue Shell laughs hysterically as he targets Mario out of the three, who quickly tries to escape the monstrosity of the kart the Blue Shell is riding on. Some of the remaining koopas try to surround Mario but he keeps escaping. However, The blue shell still remains behind him. The Blue Shell smacks his kart to summon some cannon and shoots some bullet bills at Mario, causing him to jump out of the kart and fall down. Luckily, there is a Koopa nearby so he landed onto that Koopas kart and hit him to make him hide into his shell then threw it behind him to cause a Koopa to explode on the rainbow. But that didn’t stop the Blue Shell chase. The Blue Shell grew closer and closer until he trapped Mario’s kart into the jaws of his own kart. With a laugh he started to crush the kart Mario is in, causing him to struggle to not get crushed.
Mario had to think quickly so that he doesn’t get crushed until an idea popped up. He looks around to see DK and Funky working together to protect their dad and hitting the Koopas away with the help of the Kongs they were with. Mario takes a deep breath and lets go of the spike. The jaw closes quickly and the Blue Shell starts to laugh out loud, thinking he had killed Mario. But he thought wrong. Mario managed to slide himself on the side of the kart and whistled out loud to gain DK and Funky’s attention.
DK and Funky look up to see what was going on and nodded to each other then quickly drives to where Mario is at. Mario jumps on DK’s kart as Funky strikes the wheels of his kart to blind The Blue Shell “Now DK!”. DK pushes a button on his kart to make a barrel turn towards the Blue Shell and shoots towards it, causing a huge explosion behind them. The three cheered as they sped off to escape and meet up with Peach and Cranky Kong.
“Great work you guys, that was really explosive” Peach commented and Toad nodded in agreement. Funky chuckles a bit as he hits his elbow against DK’s arm “thank him it was his idea”. “Yeah that was an incredible idea DK!” Mario said as he hits DK’s arm as well, which causes DK to make an annoyed face.
“You think you can outrun me”
The group stops talking and turns their attention to the voice.
The Blue Shell walks out of the fire as he takes his armor off, looking very intimidating “You can't defeat me, BLUE SHELL!”. The Blue Shell quickly goes into shell mode and flies towards the group at lightning speed. “OUTRUN IT QUICKLY!” Funky yelled as he started speeding off. Peach, Cranky, and DK start speeding off trying to escape the Blue shell but it quickly caught up behind one of them: DK and Mario. The Blue Shell swirls around DK and Mario and crashes onto them, causing yet another explosion but this time breaks the rainbow road.
Funky turns his head to see what happened and his heart drops at the sight. He quickly turns around and drives towards the cracking road “DONKEY KONG!”.
“FUNKY KONG!” DK yelled out as he falls.
Funky jumps out of his bike and starts running as fast as he can “DONKEY KONG!”.
“FUNKY KONG!”
“DONKEY KONG!!!!”
“FUNKY KONGGGGGGGGG”
The screams started to grow quieter and quieter by the second until there was no voice heard from the fall.
Funky Kong grew silent as he looked down at where DK and Mario had fallen. Tears started to roll down his face as he processed what just happened. “No… NOO NOOO DONKEY KONG! DONKEY KONG COME BACK!” Funky Kong yelled as he fell to his knees, still looking down. He let out a cry while tears falls down to his hands “DONKEY KONG!”
“DONKEY KONG!”
“DONKEY KONG!”

Sitting with my cousin, at her mom’s ICU bedside. Friggin’ Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever can be aggressive y’all. I was not thinking it was this serious, but some cases are you guys, she’s been very ill. So public service announcement, if you get a tick off of you or another body, and you get sick after, rash/no rash, fever, joint pain, any of the above, go see a provider. Don’t wait.
This has been the first chance I’ve had recently, where no one is talking to me, I’m not driving, or I’m not actively doing 3 things at the same time for weeks it seems. So while she is crosstitching a ‘Mary Poppins’ bag, here’s the life -
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hiking, beach, fun, sun…. And the new mushroom ‘coke’ I’m obsessed with.
Dads doing good - labs and scans and strength are holding up.
J is off with reading, he’s really coming up on his handwriting, and his teacher is passionate and brilliant with the kids.
L being at the same school has been above excellent. The amazingness of having both kids at the same place - chefs kiss. We started back to ballet, and even though I forgot one week and we missed it, it’s been fun too. J comes with and we shoot hoops outside in the parking lot during class.
Found a chess club for J and need to get him to drum lessons.
Did get both the kids into their wellchecks, they’ve been to the dentist.
We celebrate Lils 5th birthday tomorrow and will be camping in the mountains for the actual event this next week.
Get me outside and fresh air. Loving this fall sweep coming in. The leaves changing. The cool mornings. My favorite time of year.

Hyrule's Bravest Little Toaster: Let's Play Tears of the Kingdom
I am very good at game, no really I swear
All my underground fumblings led to unlocking upgrades for my Purah Pad and life is so much better now. Sensor! Sensor+! Hero's Path! Game, don't challenge me to log more than 256 hours, I WILL DO IT
Tumblr media
I might log that many in the underground alone at this rate lol
Look, A/B/O isn't even my jam, but these mushrooms have big throbbing knots and I'm not afraid to say so:
Tumblr media
I found an place to Ascend that popped me right into the Travel Medallion tower I was vaguely headed for. What a lovely coincidence!
Greetings, my good fellows! Lovely day to pop up through the floor of a building, isn't it? I do so hope I'm not intruding, but could I trouble you for a spot of tea or—oh, I see, there's something you'd like to show me outside. Is it more sharp objects? I never tire of those, my good chaps!
As ever, I fight with honor:
As long as I'm above ground I might as well poke around Akkala for a bit
This trial turned out to be jenga, not a toxic beauty standard coming for my body hair, phew:
Tumblr media
HOUSE OF BONES, HOUSE OF BONES
Tumblr media
I solved bones with more bomb arrows and bones birthed MY BIG SON:
Tumblr media
My other big son jump scared me when I gently alighted upon a ledge:
Tumblr media
Fine, fine, we'll do your plot shit now, little man.
I just magically glued a minecart to a sword. Am I TOO powerful and attractive???
Tumblr media
Whatever's running around in Zelda's body just made a three-headed dragon erupt out of Death Mountain to avoid having a conversation. Honestly? Good for her. Whomst among us, etc.
My Goron pal jumped down the hole in the crater and I immediately followed, because I will jump into any hole that presents itself to me. I'm doing my best Bane riffs on "You merely adopted the hole; I was born in it, molded by it" when suddenly oops I'm on fire
I refuse to dress for anything but fashion so I sure hope these elixirs keep me alive!
[Ron Howard voice] They did not.
I have also lost track of my big son (non-sword edition) so eh, I'll come back later
Undergroundundergroundunderground
Tumblr media
Time to wander the surface world and solve more problems heroically:
Tumblr media
• If the devs didn't expect me to stand here for upwards of five minutes while my gadgets slowly whittle away the health of the constructs, they were sorely mistaken. I could easily spend twice as long just thinking, huh, I've had the mushroom fashion hat for so long that I forgot Link's hair isn't naturally a sleek pink bob.

DON’T RUN - CHAPTER FIFTEEN.
Freya took that time in the shower to put herself back together. She couldn’t believe she’d cried like that in front of Ezra. He was practically a stranger and, worse, practically an Ellis.
It felt good to let the hot water drive the cold from her skin, standing under it until it melted the ice around her bones too. She scrubbed the ocean and sweat from her skin with his body wash. It smelled good, comforting, and she shied away from the realization that Adi smelled like this too. Ezra. They both smelled like Ezra now.
When she finally turned off the shower and stepped out, the pain in her feet was almost enough to buckle her legs. She caught herself on the small sink. She hadn’t realized how much they hurt until now, until she’d cleaned up and gotten warm again.
“Still alive?” Ezra called through the thin walls.
Freya fought not to smile. He made this easy somehow. She dried off. “Yeah,” she called back. He’d brought her clothes like he’d said. A pair of sweatpants and a big t-shirt. No underwear or bra. She supposed she couldn’t expect him to have those on hand for wayward female guests. She dressed in what she was given and felt a thousand times better when she was wrapped in soft cotton, both garments well-worn and clean. She gave her hair another rubdown with the towel before twisting it over her shoulder and then picking up her dirty clothes off the floor. The trash can definitely wasn’t big enough to cram them in.
She opened the bathroom door and limped out into the hall, grateful for the rug padding her steps. The smell of pizza hit her and her stomach didn’t even growl, it just ached, making her arms shake.
Ezra was crossing from the little kitchen to his living room with a couple glasses of water when he spotted her. He put the cups down on the coffee table, just barely out of sight from where she stood. “Here,” he hurried over, taking the bundle of her dirty clothes from her. “Sit. Eat.”
Freya wasn’t sure if she would have argued if she weren’t so hungry. All she knew was that those were the only things she wanted to do right then. She limped out of the hall and into the living room, ignoring the way he watched her. Her focus was on the pizza box on the table.
“I didn’t know what you liked so I got half of it just pepperoni and the other with mushrooms, olives, and garlic,” he explained, sitting down next to her and flipping the lid open.
Freya had to stifle a moan. She forgot why she was ever mad at this man. She might even be in love with him. He handed her a plate and she grabbed a slice, starting with the pepperoni but with every intention of eating both. “Thank you,” she said before taking her first bite and almost melting back into the couch.
It was a good couch, well beaten in.
Ezra smiled and took a slice of the mushroom side. He said casually, “I told Adi you were here, so they can call off the search.”
Freya swallowed her mouthful, nodding. It hadn’t been fair of her to ask him not to. Of course, they needed to know. Wells had seen her get snatched off the street. Word would have gone out. “Is someone coming to get me?” She tried to make it sound like she didn’t care.
“No. I mean, Adi was going to, but I told him not to. I can take you back to your place whenever you want. No one is coming here tonight.”
Freya looked at the man next to her on the couch. “Why would you do that?”
Ezra stared right back at her like the answer was obvious. “Because you didn’t want them to.”
“I can stay the night?”
Ezra’s expression softened. “Yeah. Of course.”
Freya studied him for another second, something fluttering in her chest at the way he didn’t look away. He just waited. She took another bite of the pizza, almost to the crust of this slice already. “I’m going to eat the whole pizza,” she said quietly, to change the subject.
Ezra laughed, leaning back to settle onto the couch next to her. “Drink your water.”
She did, not really thirsty until the first sip hit her tongue, and then she nearly drained the cup. He traded it with his.
When she was on her second slice he asked, “What happened?”
Freya had known the question was coming. How could it not be? She’d been thinking about the answer since she pulled herself out of the sea.
“They took you to the docks?”
She nodded. Yeah. They took her to the docks.
“How did you get away?”
She chewed and swallowed, glancing sideways to catch his reaction when she answered, “I stabbed a guy.”
“Is he dead?”
She blinked. Ezra hadn’t shown any sign of being surprised let alone horrified. “I don’t think so.”
“How did you end up in the bay?”
“I jumped in.”
He stared at her, slowly smiling. “You swam the bay?”
“I didn’t have a lot of options.”
“And then you walked up to the park?”
“Again… Not a lot of options.”
“You could have asked someone for help.”
Freya lifted an eyebrow, wondering if Ezra was testing her. “And say what? ‘My name is Freya Morgan and someone kidnapped me?’ No, that would involve cops and a hospital. I kept my mouth shut and I got myself home.”
“Ellis.”
She had just taken another bite of her pizza. She was already starting to feel full, but she wasn’t ready to stop eating. It felt like it had been days. “What?”
“Freya Morgan Ellis.”
She swallowed.
“The name has weight here. You could use it.”
She didn’t know what to say to that, so she didn’t say anything, chewing on her crust instead.
“Do you know who they were? The people that took you?” he asked, still in that easy voice, like they were talking about some friends of theirs and not her abductors.
She scooted back on the couch, into the corner. It was small enough that even that didn’t put much space between them. “No. I’d recognize them if I saw them again, but I didn’t know them.”
He nodded, pulling out his phone and tapping it to life. He brought something up and passed it to her. “Anyone here?”
Freya took the phone and looked at the file of photos. Half were mugshots and the other half seemed to be candid pictures. None had been taken on his phone, but where in a file he had access to.
She started scrolling through them. She recognized some of them, was related to more than a few, but didn’t find Vizzini or his thugs. “No. It was three guys. One seemed to be the brains and the other two were just muscle. A driver and a gunman.”
Freya passed the phone back and he put it on the table.
“And you got the jump on them?”
“Yeah.” It wouldn’t work next time if Vizzini got her in the same situation. He was definitely too smart for that. She could only pretend to be helpless so many times before people got wise and learned to put a bullet in her from afar. “I should have killed him,” she half-whispered, more to herself than to Ezra. She hadn’t really thought about it until now. She could have and she should have killed him.
If Vizzini lived, he would be a problem next time around.
“Why didn’t you?” Ezra asked.
I need friends, she thought. It was insane and she definitely wasn’t going to say it out loud. She reminded herself that she couldn’t trust Ezra, but it was hard to believe just then. She shrugged.
“Were they going to kill you?”
She sank deeper into that corner of the couch. “Yeah. He had a plan to start a war between them and us over it.”
Ezra was quiet for a long time, long enough that she glanced up at him on the other side of the couch. He was frowning cutely before finally looking at her and saying, “I’m glad you stabbed him.”
She bit her lip, trying to tamp down her own grin. “I think I shot one of the thugs too.”
His eyebrows went up and he twisted sideways to mirror her on the couch. “What? Okay, start at the beginning. Paint me a scene.”
She did. Talking to him was easy and she found himself not giving him the CliffsNotes but the whole story, from the brunch all the way to the park.
Ezra listened, wincing and nodding at key moments in sympathy.
When it was done, he took a deep breath and let it out. He mulled over the information for long seconds and she found herself on edge, wondering what he’d say. Finally, he looked her in the eye. “Vic is definitely going to keep throwing drinks on you.”
Freya blinked and then laughed. “That’s your take away?”
“That’s the real threat, isn’t it? You can clearly handle kidnappers just fine. The problem is you letting Adi’s sisters bully you. They’re not going to stop. Vic tried to hit Molly once and when that didn’t land, she threw a drink. Have you fucking met Molly?”
Freya nodded, she had. Molly was a scary person. The idea that she’d take that abuse was surprising.
“Mol has been with Grayson for years and Victoria still hasn’t let up.”
Freya shrugged. She wasn’t that scared. “I can take it.”
Ezra’s smile vanished. “The point is, you shouldn’t.”
She stared back at him. Her legs were curled on the couch cushion between them, so close that she could almost feel the heat of his thigh against her shin. “Why not? Molly takes it.”
“Molly’s situation is complicated…” he hedged.
Freya laughed shortly. “And mine isn’t?”
He looked at her, completely serious. “No. It’s not. Your family brokered your marriage to the Ellises. They sold you to their enemies for a trade agreement.”
She tensed, heart squeezing in her chest.
“But now the Ellises have to keep you as one of their own. You might not be able to leave Everton, but you don’t have to let Victoria throw a drink in your face either. You have more leverage than you realize, Freya.”
Her mind spun on his words and the certainty in his voice.
Ezra smiled softly. “Of course, I’m not suggesting you pull any more guns on family members…”
For a split second, Freya wasn’t sure what he was talking about. The last time she’d pulled a gun had been on her kidnappers that morning. And then she remembered Adi in the hallway that night after she’d tried to run. How had that only been a few days ago?
Of course, Adi had told Ezra.
“How does it work… you and him,” she asked softly.
Ezra only looked surprised for a second before settling into his side of the couch, staring back at her. “We’ve been friends since we were kids. Growing up around the Ellises… their old man offered me work all the time. He even tried to talk me into being a guard for Adi since we were together all the time anyway and I could be in his classes and go everywhere he went.”
Freya nodded slowly. The idea of recruiting a child to guard another child with his life was grim, but she’d seen worse.
“I don’t work for them,” he said clearly, because it was important. “I don’t work for Adi or his family. He pretends not to get why, but I think he knows. I can tell him to fuck off any time I want to, and I don’t have to do anything Harmon says either.” He laid his cheek against the couch cushion, just like her, his smile soft and tired. Their knees were touching now, a perfect mirror, if only they weren’t so different in body. He was bigger, broader, and tattooed. She was soft and short. “I was homeless for a while and managed to hide it from Adi,” he confessed in a playful whisper, like maybe Adi still hadn’t figured it out. “He would have done something stupid like buy me a place to live if he’d known.”
“Like a mistress,” Freya understood.
Ezra nodded, holding her gaze. “I’m not the mistress,” he said quietly, an edge there that would have put her on guard if she didn’t think she knew what he meant.
Ezra was Adi’s partner. His best friend. His lover.
Freya was his wife. It came with the title and ties, but it didn’t change anything about Ezra. She swallowed a lump in her throat that wanted to become an apology. She didn’t owe Ezra an apology and she didn’t really think he wanted one. “What does that make us?”
“You and me?” he asked, that smile pulling at his mouth again.
She nodded, tired. “You and me.”
He reached out, his fingertips warm against her temple and firmly sliding back to comb her wet hair away from her face. “Tangled up.”
Freya closed her eyes under that touch. “Are we enemies?” she asked, like he would tell her if they were.
He was still touching her hair, and then the skin behind her ear and down the side of her neck. “I don’t want to be enemies with you, Freya.” There was a smile in his voice. “I’ve seen your knife.”
She sighed. She was just so tired.
“I know,” he said, like he heard her thoughts. Had she said them out loud? “You can sleep. I won’t let anyone in.”

BG3FicFeb Day 15
SFW: Halsin misidentifies some mushrooms when preparing tea for he and Tav. After Astarion drinks from her after, the trio go on a hallucinogenic trip.
NSFW: Tav repays Astarion's three climaxes with a long teasing session, edging out an amazing orgasm for him.
SFW: Any character is drunk/high
Background: This is a preview of the next chapter of Tale of the Tadpoles, there will just be a little meat added to either side. Tav, Halsin, and Astarion have just agreed upon an arrangement where Tav and Halsin are together while Astarion begins to deal with his traumatic past.
Content and Warnings: Accidental/unintentional drugging, blood-drinking, hallucinations, kissing, druid bear snuggling.
Halsin carefully wound his way through the dense undergrowth of the cove, looking for the dark, moist areas where mushrooms grew. He’d gathered a decent basket of them and other medicinal plants during his walk, but he hoped he could find a few more sunstalks for his morning tea. They would be entering the Shadow Curse the next day and he would need help to keep his mood up. His burgeoning relationship with Tav would help as well, but they’d yet to be intimate aside from their psionic spore encounter. He wanted to wait for the right place, their close-in camp not ideal for the lengthy love-making session he planned to have with her. He spotted a large cluster of them tucked away under a rock and happily harvested them.
With his basket nearly full, he headed back to the camp they’d made on the outskirts of the Grymforge. Tav was on watch, writing in her journal, half propped up on the sleeping owlbear cub, with Scratch snoozing peacefully under her knees. He wasn’t sure how it was comfortable, but all three looked pleased, and it warmed his heart to see her close connection to the animals. It had been no surprise that he had been so drawn to her from the moment they’d met. “Find everything you wanted?” She glanced up at him with a smile.
“Indeed,” he nodded, holding up his basket. “I just hope it can sustain me through the Shadow Curse.”
“I know you are anxious about it,” she managed to get up without disturbing the animals much. “I’m here to help, whatever you need.” She stood on her tiptoes to give him a soft kiss, scrunching her nose when she caught a whiff of all the mushrooms he’d gathered.
“You found some pungent ones I see,” she teased, both she and Astarion had already voiced their dislike for them. “Though I would not mind a little of that tea or porridge we had, even if it made me a little more frisky.”
“Yes, I remember how frisky it made both you and Astarion,” he smiled, trying to forgot the urgent moan he’d heard echo down when he’d gone to scout the Selunite Outpost. The beast inside him was hungry for both of them, but they would all have to wait.
He set about preparing some tea, slicing up the sunstalks with a few other herbs and then setting them to boil. Distracted by her, he missed the small, tan-colored mushroom that the sunstalk had grown around. He offered her the first cup after it was done steeping. “You know, you might finally change my mind on mushrooms,” she took a long, slow sip. “At least some of them.”
“Most of them are an acquired taste,” he smiled, taking his own sip.
“They say the same thing about me,” she teased.
“I liked your taste right away,” he leaned over for another kiss, this one with a little more ardor.
“Is the tea working already?” She pulled her mouth away, flushed and a little lightheaded. She finished her cup, still feeling a bit lightheaded and drowsy. “Would you mind if I went to the tent to rest a little more?” She asked. “The tea seems to be having the opposite effect this time.”
“Of course,” he smiled, giving her one last long kiss before she got up. It felt like she was floating to the tent, Astarion still resting inside. She plopped down hard on her bedroll, picturing herself falling onto her plush feather bed at home.
The impact woke Astarion and he pulled her close with a groggy moan, finding her giggling softly. “What are you up to?” He asked sleepily, nuzzling her neck.
“I got sleepy writing so I thought I’d come in here,” She continued to giggle slightly as he kissed her. He was still recovering from his illness-imposed fast and asked if he might have a little.
“Sure,” she purred, pulling down her trousers even though he’d planned to drink from her neck.
“Did…did you want me to take it from there?” He asked as she ran her hands down her bare thighs. He was nervous about getting too close to the temptation of her sex, given their new arrangement.
“You can have it from anywhere,” she replied, her words becoming slightly slower. “I just didn’t want to wear pants anymore.”
“You’re sure you’re feeling alright?” He looked down at her, her hands now making small motions in the air, like she was composing a song.
“Never better, please,” she swept her hair away so he had full access to her neck.
“Okay,” he watched her for a moment longer, wondering if she was just being her usual odd self. He nuzzled and kissed her neck, taking a small drink from her and almost instantly feeling that same lightheadedness she had gotten. “You taste…different,” he sunk back on his bed roll, beginning to giggle as well.
“You look different,” she rolled on her side, smushing her fingers into his face playfully. “You look…swirly.”
“Swirly?” He opened his eyes, her face also swirling and vibrating in a whirl of colors. “You’re swirly too,” he grabbed a handful of her hair, seeing it flow and shift around his fingers as if she was in water. “You’re…floating too,” he watched as she appeared to rise from her bedroll, her entire body ebbing and flowing with an invisible tide.
“Tav!” Halsin burst into the tent, a silly grin on his face. He’d always called her by her elven name beforehand. “I think…I might have…the tea…there might have been a…whoa…you two are so…bright!”
He looked down at the pair, both lying on their backs, their hands moving through the air like kittens battling an invisible yarn ball, their bodies radiating an aurora of colors. He fell between them, narrowly missing crushing them as they rolled slightly with the newest hallucination that joined them. “Did you see that?!” Tav exclaimed, Halsin appearing like a bright meteor that landed between them. She rolled back over onto her side, caressing the warm, bear-shaped rock.
“It came from the Heavens,” Astarion pawed him as well, his hands reaching Tav’s. Their fingertips danced against one another, as if inputting some secret code in the air.
“What are you weaving?” Halsin asked, reaching up to touch the thread-like strands of their fingers. “I need a scarf.”
“Here,” Tav grabbed her hair and smoothed it across his neck.
“It’s so soft,” he gently stroked her hair, the warmth of it making him hot all over. “But these clothes…they are going to suffocate me,” he began pulling at his robes.
“We’ll save you!” Astarion and Tav both helped pull off his clothes.
They were eventually all naked, laughing and rolling around the tent together as their hallucinations shifted. They touched and caressed each others’ bodies, but not in a sexual way, just in fascination with the forms that appeared before their eyes. When one of them saw or felt something they disliked, the others attended to them and helped them pull themselves into a different hallucination. They began pulling things from their packs, making odd costumes for themselves. They even managed to find Tav’s phallic gem, running the warm crystal across their bodies as its soft glow fascinated them.
Lae’zel woke up and found no one on watch, just the sound of mumbling and giggling coming from the three elves’ shared tent. She pulled open the flap in irritation, finding them mostly undressed, but with clothing and other things wrapped on their bodies in strange ways. “G’lyck,” she sighed, not quite understanding what they were doing.
“It’s the lizard queen!” Tav exclaimed, throwing a shower of paper confetti that she’d been shredding from her journal.
“What are you three doing?” Lae’zel hissed, pulling paper out of her hair.
“Tav and Halsin drank something, and then I drank from Tav and now I’m a wizard!” Astarion laughed, wearing one of Halsin’s boots on his head like a hat.
She left them after making an annoyed noise in her throat and found the nearly empty teapot that had been pulled off the fire. She dumped the rest out and added more wood to the fire. She ignored the silly noises and laughs that emanated from the tent, though was thankful when they finally quieted down. As the other awoke and wondered where the trio was, she told them they were having some strange, sexless orgy.
As the tea and Tav’s spiked blood began to wear off, they settled against one another, still half nude. Halsin had shifted to his bear wild shape at some point and both Tav and Astarion lay nestled in the fur of his splayed frame. They dozed for most of the afternoon, Tav finally waking up first, finding herself sunk into a heap of thick, musky fur. “Dear Gods, what happened?” She looked around the tent, clothes and shredded paper strewn throughout. The gem that she pleasured herself with lie on the floor beside them. “Oh dear,” she picked it up, giving it a cursory sniff. It still smelled clean, with no hint of bodily fluids on it. She carefully stowed it back in her pack and looked over her two sleeping lovers. Astarion lay on his stomach, stretched across the bear’s lower body. She gently stroked Halsin’s fur, his large paws moving slightly as he dreamed.
Astarion finally stirred, coughing slightly at the face full of fur he’d been sleeping in. Tav leaned back across Halsin and stroked Astarion’s messy curls. “Tav,” he asked, raising his head. “What’s going on? Where am I?”
“I think Halsin and I might have accidentally dosed ourselves with magic mushrooms and then accidentally dosed you…” she blushed with a groggy smile.
“Okay,” he sunk back down onto the bear, still slightly drowsy.

Tav and Astarion returned to the inn after their disastrous dinner meeting her parents. Tav was grateful that he’d told them off and showered him with kisses when they returned to their room. They slowly undressed, Tav’s underpants still soaked from him making her come thrice before dinner. She pushed him gently onto the bed, intending to repay each of those climaxes in kind. “You…are simply amazing,” she began to make a trail of wet, smacking kisses down his torso.
“It needed to be done,” he smiled, his cock already stirring from her touch. “You deserve so much better than them.”
“I have you now,” she skimmed her teeth across his chest, biting one of his nipples. “You take such good care of me.”
“Mmmm, you do too,” he sighed, her every touch tailored to exactly what he liked.
“Would you…mind if we tried something?” she looked up at him, her tongue circling his nipple to soothe the pinch of her teeth.
“What did you, ahhh, have in mind?” He asked as she nipped his other nipple between her teeth.
“A few things, actually…but for right now…I’d like to cuff your hands to the headboard…”
“Oh?” He gasped as her tongue encircled his nipple again. “A little role reversal?”
“Just a little,” she grinned, nuzzling his sternum.
“Okay,” he smiled.
She climbed out of bed, his eyes fixed on her naked frame as she went to her pack and pulled out the leather cuffs they’d had since the tadpoled times. They’d been experimenting a bit more with Astarion being submissive, through Tav usually preferred their dynamic of flexible control. He reined in a bit of her chaos and only occasionally had his way with her entirely. They’d just recently used the cuffs their second to last day in Waterdeep, him leaving her tied in bed and teasing her the entire day, before finally letting her come in an a thunderous climax that had gotten them banned from ever staying at the establishment again. This is precisely what she intended to do to him, though in a shorter time frame.
She cuffed him to the bed, kissing him hungrily, her honey already oozing down her thighs. “Gods, look at you,” he sighed, praying she intended to let him taste her. “You already know exactly what you’re going to do to me…don’t you?”
“Mmmmmhmmm,” she joined his eyes at her thighs, her slick skin glistening in the firelight. “Do you want to taste it?”
“More than anything,” he licked his lips. He’d had just a sample of her when he’d fingered her earlier.
She swung her legs around, straddling him in the opposite direction and moved her hips back into his face. He nuzzled his face into her honey greedily, much like when Halsin got ahold of her or a freshly harvested comb. She pulled away slightly, so his tongue could only skim her, letting her own mouth fall upon his wobbling cock. “Mmmhhhhh,” he hummed into her as she moved further away, a thread of her honey dangling between her cunt and his tongue.
“Not too much,” she sucked on the head of his cock, her hands cupping his balls gently. “I’m keeping you here most of the night.”
“Yeah?” He trembled as her mouth engulfed him, the trail of honey falling down onto his chest.
She sucked him hungrily, teasing her juicy cunt just out of his tongue’s reach. Sometimes she would move back just enough that he could take another lick if he strained his neck a little. She’d been clever to restrain him, he’d have pulled her hips back straight into his mouth if he hadn’t been. He grunted softly as he felt the pressure of his climax grow, a tear drop of arousal swinging from her engorged lips. “Please,” he begged, seeing it threatening to drop down onto his torso.
“What?” She looked back at him with a wet grin, her hand slowing around his cock.
“You’re overflowing,” he eyed the glistening drop. “I need it.”
“Just a little,” she moved her hips back, letting his tongue scoop it up and lick a long trail along her entire slit. “Ah ah,” she tutted and moved her hips away. “Are you thirsty?”
“Mmmm,” he nodded. “Your parents’ wine was as terrible as they were.”
“Let me get you something then,” she climbed out of bed, his cock wiggling without her touch.
She retrieved one of his enchanted blood bottles, pouring the magically unclotted liquid into a chalice for him. She brought it to his lips, letting him drink the contents. “Enough?” She asked when he’d finished, licking the viscous fluid from his lips. He nodded as she set the cup down and straddled his upper thighs. His cock wobbled to her like a divining rod. “I was thinking,” she said, letting a large bead of saliva trail off her tongue, waiting patiently for it to meet the head of his cock. “That if this lead is fruitful,” she continued as she began to stroke him again. “We should do a few final roleplays before you are cured.”
“Hmmm,” he grinned. “Like stumbling across you in a dark alley as strangers?”
“Or,” she pulsed her hands around his slick cock, making him grunt again. “You spider-climbed up to the window of a young virgin, who was sitting innocently in bed.”
She felt a little tremor go up his cock at the prospect of that scenario. “I could use a Shrink spell on my cunt…and be so tight for you.”
He groaned at that, the leather cuffs whining against his straining wrists. “Oh fuck, yes,” he moaned. “I’d be…so gentle, mmmm,” he moved his hips with her hand, nearing climax again.
“Not yet, my love,” she moved her hands away, his legs trembling desperately. “Did you have anything in mind you’d like to try?” She hovered over him, teasing her slick cunt against the head of his cock, pre-cum dribbling out of it.
“Tav…” he could barely think, let alone suss out a better scenario than she’d just described. “I need you.”
“I know, my love,” she pressed her slick warmth onto him, laying his throbbing cock against his stomach. “Tell me what else you want to do with me.”
“I want to…mmm,” he moaned as she slowly slid down his shaft, her lips cupping around him slightly. “Hmmmhh, please Tav.”
“I know you can do it,” she whispered, sliding back up him, letting the head of his cock press ever so slightly into her slit. “It will all be worth it, I promise.”
He closed his eyes, searching for an answer for her, needing to be engulfed by her cunt and erupt inside her. “I want to…emmmmfff…pull you onto the ceiling and…ahhhhhhh….fuck you senseless…..upside down….with a mirror under us…so I can…yes…fuck Gods,” he moaned as she finally welcomed him inside her, settling around him without moving.
“I’ll keep going if you will,” she teased, squeezing her pelvic muscles around him.
“Oh fuck….I want to see your body from every…..ghhhhh…angle…and….mmmm…have you floating in the air and fill you with every….errrrrrm fucking drop of my fuckkkkkkkkk ohhh gooooood…” he exploded inside her as she rode his shaft with every word, his vision going dark for a moment and his restraints making the wood of the headboard groan along with him. He’d enjoyed an incalculable amount of pleasure with her, but this was now the pinnacle.
His mind finally returned from whatever plane his climax had sent him to, feeling her quiver and whimper around him as she squeezed out one last little climax along with him. “Can you…hmmm…untie…I need to hold you,” he could barely catch the breath he didn’t even need to take. She reached up to unfasten his wrists, nipping his ear and letting him take ahold of her body when he embraced her. He rolled them to their sides, nestling her against him as tightly as it was comfortable for her. They breathed against one another, the only sound of their silent repose. She eventually stirred a little, leaving tiny kisses over his heart and moving her head up so she could look at him. “This is going to get us banned from another inn, you know,” he smiled, giving her a grateful kiss.
“I know,” she smiled. “I think I heard the headboard crack.”
“It definitely did,” he laughed. “You are…not made for words sometimes. I love you so much.”
“I love you too,” she nuzzled his nose. “Whether we ever find a cure or not…I’ll love you…forever.”
He spoke the same to her in elven, promising that their souls would always find one another.
“Sooo…would a Shrink Spell…work Iike that?” He blushed.
“In theory,” she grinned. “You’d need quite a bit of blood to maintain a ceiling crawl on me, right?”
“In theory,” he teased.
“I can’t wait to test these theories then,” she kissed him again, as the innkeeper downstairs was already writing a notice to stick on their door.

❝𝖀𝖓𝖋𝖔𝖗𝖌𝖊𝖙𝖙𝖆𝖇𝖑𝖊 𝕱𝖎𝖊𝖑𝖉 𝕿𝖗𝖎𝖕❞
Tumblr media
Synopsis: "What is beautiful is only temporary, what is eternal is memories, and what is sincere is only from the heart."
Pairing: Various x Reader (could be platonic)
Genre: Fluff, crack fic (?), modern AU
Note: Heavily inspired by a 2 days school field trip I just went on from the 30th of June to the 1st of July, and it was quite fun :)
Tumblr media
Self proclaimed "Hotel Room Raider". Childe borderline doesn't care whether you are awake or not, he would ring your doorbell over and over until you are fed up or he would barge into your room if you somehow leave it unlocked, causing a ruckus. It really depends on who you are to him honestly. So if you're this Snezhnayan boy's close friend, he would bring you snacks, watch movies together and stay up all night with you.
Doesn't complain about his seat placement on the bus, as long as he's on the bus and not being left behind, he's Gucci (⌐■-■).
Forgot to bring your snacks on the trip or perhaps you ran out? No worries, "Childe's Snack Shack" is open whenever, wherever. He's so used to being a "convenience store" for his younger siblings when they needed a snack, so he brought more snacks and suddenly became everyone's big brother.
When it comes to souvenirs, Childe really made sure that he buys souvenirs of all kinds that are sufficient for his family (it's more than enough for his family, so he gave some to his neighbours).
Tumblr media
Another one of these "Hotel Room Raider", but Venti is more of a "Snack Stash Beggar" I would say. He would come to your room (because you invited him over for a movie night) and ask if you have any snacks.
"Hey, do you have any snacks by chance? I left my snacks in my room and only remembered about them half way here," he said.
It wouldn't hurt to share some of your snacks with him, right?
The hotel has a all-you-can-eat buffet so Venti gladly took advantage of this. The amount of hash brown, grilled fish, Chicken-Mushroom Skewer, and Tea Break Pancake he has stacked up on his plate was shocking.
"Venti, are you sure you can finish all that food?"
"Of course I can, it would be a piece of cake :D"
I could see him sitting somewhere around the middle or the back of the bus, singing as he plays his ukulele. Or he would often lead the karaoke sessions on the bus.
Bonus: Venti often wears some sort of hat, be it a beret or a bucket hat. One time, he decided to sit on the side of one of the hotel halls, flipped his hat upside-down and started singing like a busker on the street, except he's in a 4 star hotel... He would do it with at least one friend, whether it's with you or with someone else.
Tumblr media
If she could, Sayu would sleep throughout the entire trip if she wished to. But she can't. Of course, like every other living creature, she still has her basic necessities that needed to be fulfilled.
Thinks that this whole field trip is a complete waste of time, and that time is more important made for sleeping.
" *yawns* ...I just don't get what's the hype is all about. We might just go to some tourist spots, eat some food, go to a hotel, sleep well, repeat the same thing the next day and then go home. That's basically it! The only thing I'm looking forward to is to sleep on a 4-star hotel bed..."
But then, when she is told that they were going to visit a temple that could grant people's wishes by drinking or just wash your hands and face with some holy water, she suddenly became interested.
"What? Wait, so you're telling me that my wish to become tall can come true? I have to see this for myself!"
When they arrived at the temple with the holy water, that was the first place Sayu visited.
When they arrived at the hotel and had already gone into their respective rooms, the bed was the first place Sayu went to.
When it comes to souvenirs, Sayu buys food that contains ingredients that can make her taller according to her research on the internet.
"Hey, the filling in these pia cakes are made from mung beans. And it says that any kind of bean can make you taller! Yup, I'm buying all these."
Tumblr media
Oh god, I'm really curious why would you want to be in a group with this kitsune... I mean, when it comes to Yae Miko, she could be up to no good...
When you refused to do something for her or with her, she would always find a way to "blackmail" you.
"Oh come on now... You really don't want to go on a walk with me? If so, let me ask you, have you ever noticed your behavior while sleeping at the hotel last night? Or your face when you sleep on the bus? Ah, I'm sure that if these photos spread, they will-- Oh, you changed your mind? Well, that's more like it! Come on, little one. Follow my lead."
But of course, she won't tease you forever. If you happen to have motion sickness, she'll try to help as much as she can.
"Aww, is your motion sickness acting up again? Have you taken the medicine? Good, well you can't have any of my fried tofu, it may be not that greasy but still. Have these crackers instead, foods that are high in starch can help to settle a queasy stomach."
Miko would have you carry the novels she'll buy whenever you go book shopping. Yeah, I could definitely see this happening...
On rare occasions, if you somehow managed to catch her off guard, you might be able to see Miko sleeping next to a pile of books in her fox form.
Tumblr media
Can you guess what's the first Mr. Arataki "Numero Uno" Itto made you do? Yup, he made you... wear the greatest Arataki Gang merchandise ever made! Whether it's a shirt, hoodie, hat, you name it. But sometimes you can't help but wonder where he got the money to make these...
"Ooohhh, look at you in those sweet swag! Lookin' real fly! Now, show 'em, show the world how great the Arataki Gang really is! Hahaha... *cough* Phew, excuse me..."
Whenever Itto walks on the bus, whether it's getting out or getting into the bus, you can feel the bus bouncing almost because of how big he is. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) (Get your mind out of the gutter!)
You probably can imagine how much of a ruckus he and the Arataki Gang can cause (except for Ushi and Shinobu of course). Fighting over the microphone during karaoke sessions, causing trouble in public, in the hotel, basically everywhere and I tell you it's unavoidable.
Itto would have you as his camera operator, taking pictures of him and the Gang whenever, wherever. On the beach, in front the hotel building, the swimming pool, when he's having breakfast etc.
Being an oni, he had you to make sure there isn't any beans in his food (or else he would be bedridden the rest of the trip and troubled the Arataki Gang).

A Dumb Question: Part One
“Were you scared?”
Flik looks up from the invention he’s fixing. His eyes aren’t quite focused, and the pen he made from a flower stamen droops from the corner of his mouth. Dot lifts her hand to shield her eyes against the glare from his mushroom headlamp.
“Oh, sorry! I forgot I was wearing this,” he apologizes. The pen bobs up and down with each word. He reaches up and twists the mushroom cap to dim the light until it reaches a comfortable glow, and Dot lowers her hand.
“What did you say?” he asks. His eyes are focused now. Too focused.
She looks down at her hands, suddenly embarrassed. “Nothing. It was a dumb question.”
It’s quiet between them for a moment, the silence punctured only by the occasional ant strolling by the entrance of the tunnel that leads to Flik’s lab. Dot hopes her friend will forget she said anything and move on with his work.
But when she finally dares to peek up at him, he’s looking right at her. There’s a crease in the space between his eyes, which always appears when he’s thinking hard about something.
“I don’t believe in dumb questions.”
On the last word, the pen falls from Flik’s mouth to the floor. She watches as it rolls just beneath where her feet dangle an inch above the ground. If she stretched her leg all the way out, she could almost touch it with her toes.
“What’s wrong, Dot?”
Dot flinches at the closeness of Flik’s voice. He’d moved from the other side of the table to sit right beside her on his workbench, leaving less than a centimeter between them. Her skin prickles with warmth. Everything in her wants to close the gap, to crawl into his arms and knot her arms around his neck and stay there for as long he’ll let her.
But something roots her to the spot. Something strange and heavy sits in her chest, a feeling she doesn’t like and doesn’t have a name for.
Dot closes her eyes and remembers another time like this, a time when her friend was close enough for her to touch him if she wanted to. That time, it was fear making her skin prickle. She was afraid of the monster behind her back, the one who had his hooks around her head, who’d snapped his fingers to summon the other monster who almost swallowed her whole.
That time, it was her friend’s turn to close the gap, to reach across the space between them and save her from those hooks. He was supposed to take her somewhere safe, somewhere far away from the monster and his monster.
The first one had even told him to.
“You want her? Then go ahead, take her.”
Take me, she’d begged Flik with her eyes, her shaking hands clasped together like a prayer. Please take me away from him.
But he didn’t. He couldn’t even look at her. He stared up at the monster for a moment, then looked down at the floor that was so far below Dot’s feet. When the monster told him to get back in line, and he did.
Dot wanted to scream as Hopper reached his arm back, pulling her away from Flik’s reach. Why did her friend obey that time? Why did he tell the monster to leave her alone, and then leave her with him?
Hopper had told him to take her if he wanted her. He didn’t take her.
Did that mean he didn’t want her?
Dot opens her eyes and turns to look at Flik. He’s smiling, waiting so patiently for her to voice her question.
She feels guilty for even thinking it. This is the ant who saved her life twice, after all. The one who comes running to her room in the middle of the night when she cries out his name, who holds her after she wakes up from dreams about birds and grasshoppers, who sits by the side of her bed and sings her back to sleep.
This is the ant who flew to the city on a dandelion puff and came back with the bestest roughest bugs she’s ever seen, the ones who will protect her when the monsters come back. And even though she knows the bugs he found are supposed to be the real warriors, this is the ant whose name Dot still calls when she wakes up from another nightmare.
And he comes. Every time, this ant comes to her.
But still, this is the question that whispers to the princess at night after Flik leaves and she’s alone in her room again. The question that has been rattling around her brain for the past hour, while she watched her friend tinker with his inventions and listened to him talk about how everything is going to be better once the grasshoppers are gone for good. The question that won’t leave her alone until she has an answer.
So she takes a deep breath and asks her dumb question.
“Why didn’t you take me when Hopper told you to?”
