Do you ever think about Emotion?

Of course you do. How could you not. But do you ever think about this exchange specifically:

“You’re not Adrien!”

Because Adrien is sweet, and forgiving, and kind. In fact, kindness is his defining quality — Marinette herself made sure of it:

“I’ll never tell another boy I love him before I know everything about him! Whether he’s kind or not, thoughtful, what he does outside of school and with who… I’ll know everything.”

But.

Do you ever think about Adrien’s development in S4 and especially S5?

Overtime, he has grown resentful of a system that exploits him relentlessly.

Of the people he gave countless chances to, only to be let down over and over again.

Of the web of lies and half-truths he constantly finds himself tangled into. A web that is only growing bigger, stickier, and trickier to escape.

And the Senticousins. Do you ever think about them?

Do you ever think about how they are each other’s reflection, identical and opposites all at once?

“When you bring a living being into this world, you have a responsibility towards them. Your duty is to protect them, love them, help them discover the true meaning of their existence. To deprive them of that… is monstruous.”

“To have a child is to help them blossom, to grow, to find themselves and to be free!”

Do you ever think about their opposite character arcs in S5 — one learning mercy and trust, the other developing a rage so strong it could destroy the world?

Do you ever think that if Felix can now have this exchange with his mum, and mean it:

“They’re all monsters!”

“Not all of them.”

Then there’s nothing stopping Adrien from saying this:

“Look closer, Marinette. They’re the monsters.”

#AND I LOVE HIM FOR IT 💚🐈‍⬛#To be clear I don’t necessarily think he’d mean it. He probably wouldn’t.#But if he did who could blame him? He has so much to deal with #He’s a child being protected by children and all of them are trapped in this world the adults poisoned for them #Felix and him really aren’t that different. He could be plagued by these feelings too. I have no doubt he’d heal from them down the line #But I would LOVE him to use the world “monster(s)” in S6 (PLEASE NOT AGAINST FELIX THOMAS LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME THOMAS —)#It would be such a beautiful callback to Emotion and a great illustration of how much his grief is changing him #And how it could take over like it did with Gabriel if he’s not careful. I've never actually posted anything that isn't an illustration and wanted to try my hand on something new, so here's a rough storyboard of my two ancient babies! I've always imagined White Lily to have just as big of a crush on Pure Vanilla as he does on her except she's the more feeble type and struggles to string her thoughts and feelings together in a way that doesn't make her a flustered mess lol

Okay! so I saw this art of Kaveh and Al Haitham on twitter and IMMEDIATELY wanted to write something for it. My brain instantly saw the potential to include snz, so I did lol. These 2 will have a forever grip on my heart istg 💚

Al Haitham and Kaveh are sat together on the couch. Haitham is sitting upright, Kaveh is laying against the arm of the couch, legs draped over Haitham's. They're conversing, but Kaveh is doing all of the talking, and using sign language nonetheless. Haitham had a rather overstimulating day at work and needed to come home and recuperate, headphones off and all. Kaveh goes in and out of vocalizing some words because he just can't help it, but most of the conversation is done in complete silence. He starts by explaining how he dropped his pita pocket on his way to a consultation this morning, and then how one of his clients was completely delusional for wanting to build their house right in the middle of the desert.

'Oh my god, he never shuts up,' Haitham thinks to himself, but with the sweetest smile on his face. Kaveh learned sign for him, and even knows immediately when it needs to be used. No questions asked, just the most willing and effortless accommodation for his love.

Kaveh, still signing, is going on and on and on and on about other various little troubles he encountered throughout the day, when he suddenly pauses. His hands stop moving and actually hover closer to his face. Haitham notices, but just keeps caressing his legs as he's been, waiting for Kaveh to continue but aware of what's about to happen.

"Hhi-!tzshu!-IShu! HHha-! HI'NGXT-shiew!"

He let's out 3 small(ish) and clearly subdued sneezes, throwing them into his elbow and away from Haitham.

"Snf! Guh, sorry," he semi-whispers.

"Bless you," Haitham signs and speaks, then goes back to just signing.

Why did you hold those back? It sounded like it hurt.

You've had a rough day, I don't want my sneezes to add to that.

His normal sneezes are ridiculously loud and Haitham can't deny that. He smiles to himself, Kaveh noticing.

What? Kaveh signs.

"You're so good," Haitham says, very matter of fact. "To me, to those around you. Very accommodating and attentive."

Kaveh pauses, not expecting to have heard that from Haitham. It sounds too good to be true.

Well, I try to be. Kaveh signs with a rather proud look on his face, soaking up this rare praise.

"But don't do that again. Not only is it bad for you, but holding back and stifling make your sneezes specifically ten times worse. I'd rather you blow my eardrums out now than over the course of the entire evening."

Kaveh, who is now visibly fuming, angrily signs and speaks.

"You! Just when I thought I'd finally received genuine praise for being so mindful of you, you pull this! Everytime!"

"That was genuine praise. You can't deny what stifling does to you, though. Any second now and-"

"HA'GTZSH-UH!"

. . .

"Don't-"

My point exactly.

"HAITHAM!"

Haitham then takes Kaveh's left hand, brings it to his face and kisses it, making him blush and shutting him up immediately.

"Thank you, Kaveh."

I swear every time Luigi and Daisy kiss and/or dance either in art or in a written story (or are simply shown as the cuties they are), my heart grows in size and feels so warm and full, and it gives me YEARS of life, and I feel like melting, and I scream and cry and kick my feet because I love them so DEARLY 😭

And you guys write/draw them SO WELL.
