Hot take: I feel like people love "quirky" traits in characters that are also features of Autism/general neurodiversity, until that character is actually established as having Autism (or people suggest that this might be the case).

Some thoughts on why and how I believe Crowley and Aziraphale's relationship would incorporate sex/why I do not read them as wholly asexual:
This is something I've seen the most discourse about in this fandom, and I've had a few thoughts of my own that I really wanted to expand upon in a full meta/character analysis post. I do understand that this can be a contentious topic, so first, let me clarify a few things:
First of all, this is going to be long. Tbh it probably won't be that organized either. I ramble and I'm not very good at editing, so just... you know. Be warned. (*Hi, it's me from 2 days after writing this; I'm really not kidding, it's LONG)
These are all my own thoughts. They might not be hot takes, because recently I've seen more than a few people come to the same conclusions on a lot of these points as I have. But I've also had these notes in my drafts for about a week and a half now, and have been continuously adding to it as things have occurred to me. This post is essentially just somewhere for me to collect the separate but related meta I've been kicking around in my head.
I fully respect anyone who does see and prefer an asexual reading of this relationship. These are my own thoughts and interpretations as someone who is not asexual. I am in the LGBT+ community, so while I do know a few things about the asexuality spectrum, I am by no means an expert.
This is NOT something I expect, need, or even necessarily want the show (or, God forbid, Neil's tumblr ask box) to address. Tonally, it's just not that kind of show. Newt and Anathema's sex scene was very much played for laughs, and it worked for that reason. If the show found a way to address it in a way that was both appropriate for the tone of the show and ultimately satisfying, then great! But there is so much more to this relationship than sex, and I didn't need a kiss to confirm their love, so I certainly don't need a sex scene. As immortal beings (as I assume they'll stay) there is so much of the rest of their lives we'll never get to see. You can headcanon them as asexual and potentially be right. I can headcanon them as not and be equally potentially right. Again, these are just a collection of my own thoughts, because I think the question of sexuality (or lack thereof) is just as interesting a facet of these characters as any other.
Note: Tbh I've been second-guessing this whole post and debated deleting the whole thing several times for being silly or unnecessary, bc I don't want anyone to think that this is the only thing I care about when it comes to this story/characters. But if nothing else, it's inspired me to write in a way that nothing has in a very long time, so I've decided it's worth continuing, if for no other reason than that.
This is going to be a mixed bag of textual reading, subtextual reading, and a full-on reach or two. It's been a while since I've been in an English class, but if my teachers expected me to find a deeper meaning behind blue curtains, you can expect me to read too deeply into the symbolism of a loaded rifle or an ox rib. (This is probably not what my professors had in mind when grading my literary analysis papers but oh well) My point is, if it feels like a reach, I'm as aware of it as you are. I am in no way saying that all (or even any) of my points made were deliberate on the part of Neil or the actors or the writers or the directors. I am no longer the delulu Apple Tree Yard child of my youth, I promise.
If anything said here is in any way offensive or hurtful to anyone in the asexual community, please do not hesitate to message me or comment and let me know exactly what it was. I promise you it is not my intention to do so, and am happy to clarify or outright edit anything that reads that way.
With all that being said, let's talk about why I think Crowley and Aziraphale would absolutely fuck nasty incorporate sex into their relationship.
Note: I am out of practice with essay writing, so I think I'll just go down the bullet points of notes I have been making, and expand on each as best I can
Food
Where better to start than with Aziraphale's introduction to Pleasures Of The Flesh? (Just a heads up, this entire post may feel very Aziraphale-heavy, and with good reason).
This might be the least hot take here. We've all seen the Job minisode. We've all seen That Scene.
Whether this was intentional or not, the symbolism here is off the charts. Eve was tempted by an apple. So why not go a similar route and tempt Aziraphale with another fruit, or cheese, or bread, or literally anything else for his first experience with food? Instead, we go with a huge, glistening slab of fresh meat that he proceeds to absolutely go feral upon, moaning and gasping into his meal while Crowley watches with what definitely doesn't look to be disgust or even satisfaction with a good temptation. There's surprise at the ferocity of Aziraphale's appetite, certainly. But ultimately he looks to be intensely fascinated by it, while the thunder crashes, the music crescendos, and the earth literally shakes around them.
(It's also interesting to note how very little it takes for Crowley to tempt him with the ox rib. One murmured suggestion, a bit of unwavering eye contact, and vavoom Aziraphale immediately meets him in the middle.)
Cut to Aziraphale devouring the rest of the meat with Crowley splayed back on a makeshift bed, drinking wine and continuing to watch him indulge through half-lidded eyes. Outside a thunderstorm rages while they're learning secrets about each other in warm flickering firelight. It's cosy, it's intimate, and if they'd thrown in a bearskin throw blanket, it might as well be a post-coital scene straight out of Game of Thrones.
The next time (chronologically) we see them discuss food is when Aziraphale "tempts" Crowley with oysters in Rome. So Crowley first tempts Aziraphale with meat and then Aziraphale tempts Crowley with what is widely regarded to be an aphrodisiac. Interesting.
And then chronologically after that, the Arrangement begins to form, which has always reeked of a friends with benefits situation. Just to throw that in there.
It's What Humans Do
In the very first episode, we're shown Gabriel's obvious disgust and bewilderment towards Aziraphale eating sushi, calling it "gross matter" and being proud of the fact that he does not sully his body with it. Aziraphale initially tries to defend his own enjoyment in it, before passing it off as something that humans do, as something he simply has to do in order to blend in (which we know very well is not the case).
He does this again in season 2, passing off Nina and Maggie being in love as "something humans do". But it isn't, is it? Angels are beings of love, and can sense it, and understand very well what it is... up to a point. Even romantic love is obviously within their wheelhouse, given what we now know happened between Gabriel and Beelzebub (we'll come back to them).
What the "humans do" that angels wouldn't understand is messy, physical forms of love.
But here's the thing: Aziraphale and Crowley love doing what the humans do. They love drinking, they (or at least Aziraphale) love eating. They love music. Crowley loves driving and sleeping and watching rom-coms and sitcoms. Aziraphale loves reading and doing magic and earning little licenses and certificates for achievement in his various hobbies. They love to playact at being human so much that they've stopped playacting and started building a genuinely human lifestyle for themselves and with each other.
Once together in an unambiguously romantic sense, why do we think they wouldn't also want to explore one of the most prominent, intimate, powerful human expressions of love and desire with each other?
Angels, Demons, & Asexuality
Here's where I really want to clarify that in no way do I mean that sex is necessary for a healthy, fulfilling, and loving romantic relationship, or that the lack of desire for sex makes you any less human. Asexuality is a sexuality as valid and human as any. What I would say is that it is definitely in the human minority compared to allosexuality.
Angels and demons, on the other hand, are predominately asexual. Sexless/genderless unless Making An Effort. (Which, btw, is a concept introduced as early as the original book; why even bring it up as a possibility? Why not keep angels/demons being sexless/asexual as a hard and fast rule, if not to open up the potential for later use? Chekhov's Effort, if you will. And isn't that something that Aziraphale in particular is shown to do time and time again? He makes an effort in French and driving and magic, doesn't he?)
And this is why I don't believe Aziraphale and Crowley necessarily need to be asexual, narratively. There is already a huge amount of ace rep within the angels and demons (and no, not just the horrible ones. Muriel also doesn't "drink the tea" and has no reason or desire thus far to Make An Effort, and there are certainly other angels and demons who aren't horrible like the archangels seem to be who likely wouldn't Make An Effort either).
The central conflict for Aziraphale and Crowley is that they are on their own side, the ones who went native, the ones who are so different in so many ways from their respective hives. It would make sense for them to also break away from traditional angel/demon asexuality.
I say "traditional angel/demon asexuality", because I would also like to note that I would absolutely not rule out demisexuality for either of them. This post is being written to as a response to people who specifically believe that they (like the rest of the angels/demons seem to be) would be sex-averse in a relationship, and that it wouldn't be a factor in their relationship. I could easily read them as demisexual, but I do think there would be no real way of verifying this, because they've never been able to form as close an emotional relationship with anyone else but each other. Certainly not in heaven, and I can't imagine they would be able to form that kind of attachment with any of the humans, who they love and emulate but ultimately regard as the separate species they are. So yes, they could either be allosexual or demisexual, in my opinion.
Then again, now that I think about it, Making An Effort itself could be a great metaphor for demisexuality, since they would be entirely sexless/asexual until they have enough of an emotional connection with someone to consciously manifest otherwise. Since the other angels and demons don't generally form those types of emotional connections with anyone, there hasn't been a precedent for it.
Except...
Brielzebub
We do have a precedent for it now, don't we? Gabriel and Beelzebub fell in love. They are a direct foil for Crowley and Aziraphale's relationship, speedrunning right through their courtship and finding their happily ever after on the other side of things.
For being such a 1 to 1 comparison, it feels deliberate that they did not kiss. They held hands, they were gooey with each other, but they did not kiss. That feels like such a deliberate thing to omit when you know what's to come at the end of the episode between Crowley and Aziraphale.
And going back to the food = sex metaphor for a moment, let's notice how even as they fell in love over the years, even when pints and crisps were there on the table in front of them, they never felt the desire to reach out for them. They didn't need to. It's a date (love story) even if you aren't eating dinner (sleeping together).
Yes, I know Jim liked hot chocolate. No, I am not counting it because I don't consider Jim and Gabriel to be the same person with the same proclivities, and Jim was highly suggestible at the time anyway.
Gabriel and Brielzebub's big happily ever after moment (as of now) was one between two asexual supernatural beings. They did not need to kiss to drive the point home. They showed what Crowley and Aziraphale could have, if they would only acknowledge it.
Crowley & Aziraphale's Dissatisfaction
But they do have that already, don't they? If you really think about it, what do Gabriel and Beelzebub do with each other that Crowley and Aziraphale don't already? They hold hands, they spend time together, they create little rituals, they give gifts, they're visibly and verbally affectionate with each other, etc. They are more or less already in a romantic asexual marriage relationship with each other, aren't they?
And it doesn't seem to be enough for either of them.
At the beginning of the season, Crowley is immediately shown to be unsatisfied with the way things are. Obviously part of it comes from living in his car, but it seems to be more than that (especially since Aziraphale makes it clear that the bookshop is just as much Crowley's as his, implying that he could have been living there the whole time and is choosing not to, for some reason?). You could argue he's feeling unmoored without Hell telling him what to do, but isn't that what he wanted? Isn't that what he still wants, by the end of the season? All season long, he's never indicated the desire for a new job, or a new project. He stopped the apocalypse because he wanted the freedom to openly spend time with Aziraphale, to spend his time on Earth however he sees fit. Until Gabriel arrives, he has exactly that (minus a flat).
So where does the dissatisfaction come from? And if it represents anything to do with his relationship, what does he want out of it that he isn't getting already?
I think Crowley only really comes to the realisation of what he's missing when Nina names it for him, not only putting them in the category of romantic, but physical (outright asking if they are sleeping together). These two posts [1], [2] go into more detail about what I mean, but I think it really pushes him into acknowledging that their relationship is more human than either of them have stopped to consider, and what that might mean as far as everything a human relationship can entail.
After all, Nina and Maggie only advised that he should talk to Aziraphale, make clear his feelings. The decision to kiss him, to tip them over the edge from nonphysical to physical, that was all him. And no, kissing isn't sex, but I wonder how taboo even that might be in the kind of all-encompassing asexuality most angels seem to identify with. (If they're disgusted by food and drink, I can only imagine what they think of snogging, much less sex.)
Aziraphale doesn't have this moment of someone observing their relationship from the outside. He loves Crowley, and as of 1941 probably even knows he's in love with him in a way that Crowley doesn't understand yet. Which makes sense, since love is technically his job, he'd be more likely to recognise it for what it is.
However, Aziraphale's reference for romance and relationships is Jane Austen. It's chaste. It's dancing and dinner and doing sweet things for each other and roses and candles and handholding. He contextualises his love for Crowley in that soft fantasy sort of way, where it's there, it's obviously there, but it's neat and easy and unspoken. Not to quote Glee in this, the year of our lord 2023, but it's all very "the touch of the fingertips is as sexy as it gets".
Someone should tell that to Aziraphale's face, then.
I'm not going to pretend I know what Michael Sheen's script notes were, but there were definitely some Choices™ made. Because yes, there were plenty of moments in both seasons with Aziraphale looking at Crowley in a sweet, loving, smitten way. And then there were moments that were yearning.
But yearning for what, exactly? All of those sappy Jane Austen tropes already apply to the two of them. So why are there moments where Aziraphale is looking Crowley up and down like the last eclair in the window and licking his lips and visibly exhaling like he's trying to get in control of himself (see: Bastille scene + Crowley telling Muriel to ask him if they have any other questions about love)? Why is Aziraphale not only unconcerned when Crowley shoves him bodily up against a wall in s1, but staring at his lips and a beat too late in noticing Sister Mary's arrival? Why are some of his lines so suggestive? I'm sorry, but the car ride after the church explosion might as well have been the beginning of a Pizza Man porn with a really weird Blitz theme. If even my mother picked up on that vibe, I can't imagine it wasn't intentional on part of both the dialogue and the delivery.
(This section may feel like more of a reach/joke, but I'm really only 20% joking. These are writers and actors who are EXTREMELY good at their jobs; they know what they were doing here.)
More importantly, I don't think Aziraphale is even aware that there is more to what he wants. He lives in the Jane Austen fantasy and it never even occurs to him that he might be interested in anything further. It never even occurs to him that, as an angel, there is anything further to be interested in in the first place. Until Crowley forces it to occur to him. Just like I believe Nina forced Crowley to confront the idea that romantic love is what he's been feeling all along, I believe Crowley forced Aziraphale to confront the idea that physical intimacy is something he's been wanting, without even realising.
Aziraphale's Hedonism
Expanding on Aziraphale for a moment. We talked about his relationship with food, but we all know that Aziraphale is defined by his love of things that Feel Good.
It isn't just that he and Crowley love human things. Aziraphale loves the best of the best, or at least his version of it. He doesn't just love food, he loves going to fancy restaurants. He doesn't just love clothes, he loves soft, cosy, warm, plush clothes, or shiny, flashy, bougie fashion. He loves the warmth of tea and cocoa, loves getting drunk, and sitting in a comfy chair in the sunlight. He doesn't just experience, he indulges.
Given the emphasis put on things that Aziraphale loves just because they Feel Good, it feels narratively strange to assume that he wouldn't enjoy the feeling of being touched, or that he wouldn't be willing to try it, at least once, with someone he cared very deeply for. And just like the ox rib, I think that once he gets the first taste of things, he would absolutely tip over into complete and utter self-indulgence.
Dancing
I also think that dancing could be construed as a huge metaphor here. After all, we're told flat-out that angels don't Dance. Except one.
I would argue that Aziraphale, in fact, Made An Effort to learn how to Dance. He threw himself into the gavotte with delight (at a Victorian gay club; noted) and worked hard to be good at it. He's chomping at the bit to Dance with Crowley, working up the nerve to ask him with undeniably romantic intent and eagerness. So, angels don't Dance... unless they Make An Effort to do so.
We are told that demons, on the other hand, do Dance, but not well. Makes sense, since they're the ones who would want to encourage a deadly sin like lust, but have as little understanding of human love and physical intimacy as the angels. Crowley, however, is shown to be an excellent dancer at the ball, especially in his compatibility with Aziraphale.
(But Aziraphale WandaVisioned the ball so everyone knew how to dance! Yes, he did. However, the rest of the brainwashing doesn't seem to affect Crowley in any way, and they did actually live through the time period where this sort of dancing was a social norm; I'd be surprised if he never needed to learn. After all, the demons can't spell either, and Crowley is at least functionally literate, as far as we know.)
As of today, it's also been confirmed that when Aziraphale asked Crowley to dance, Crowley replied with "you don't dance." Not "WE don't dance". So going along with the metaphor, Crowley is just now discovering that Dancing is something Aziraphale is interested in at all, much less with him, and not denying that he himself is interested in Dancing. In his defense, I believe he was asleep for a few years while Aziraphale was learning the gavotte, so he wasn't exactly aware of Aziraphale's hot girl summer.
Love Languages
I want to expand on that; Crowley and Aziraphale's compatibility. Specifically in regards to their individual love languages.
We all know Crowley's love language is Acts of Service. I don't think there's any debate there. He loves it, Aziraphale loves it, they're both aware of it, we're all aware of it, God and Satan are aware of it, no surprise there.
You may disagree with me, but I believe Aziraphale's love language is Physical Touch, for a number of reasons. One of which being his aforementioned hedonism. Aziraphale likes things that Feel Good, remember? He likes soft clothes, and well-worn books. Neil himself has said that they like holding hands. And any time he is taken by surprise (Brielzebub getting together, the wave of love in Tadfield, etc.) what is the first thing he does? Reaches out for Crowley. He stops him with a hand to the chest in the pub. He leads him by the hand to the dance floor. He guides him by the waist in the graveyard. He reaches out during the entire Brielzebub scene, whether he can reach Crowley or not. Despite his own turmoil, he grasps at Crowley's back during the kiss.
The one time Crowley reaches out for him (not counting the kiss yet; we'll get there), he is aggressively pushed against a wall (by someone he loves and trusts) with a complete and utter lack of concern (and perhaps some interest, depending on how you read it).
And when he isn't reaching out for anyone, or there isn't anyone to reach out to? Well, he's wringing his own hands together, squeezing his own fingers, as if to find that physical comfort in himself.
So. With that theory in mind, we have Aziraphale (Physical Touch) + Crowley (Acts of Service). Throw in 6000+ years of deep love, cherished companionship, and forcibly repressed longing, and there is a very real potential of this combination resulting in fierce sexual compatibility. Where Aziraphale would want to touch and be touched, to indulge in physical pleasure with someone he adores, in the same the way he indulges in every other fine thing in his life. And where Crowley would want to indulge him in return, to give him everything he wants, and to take pleasure in Aziraphale's pleasure, in the same way he enjoys watching him take joy in food everything else.
So Aziraphale is an angel who is insecure about his own less-than-holy desires, who would want to treat Crowley like a luxury to be touched and cherished and adored. And Crowley is a demon who has, over the millennia, been unhappy about how they've been forced to deny even their friendship with each other, who would want Aziraphale to feel comfortable and safe and encouraged to indulge in earthly delights. That sounds like a stunning recipe for sexual compatibility to me.
"You said 'trust me'" / "And you did"
Just like the Job minisode, the Blitz is RIFE with symbolism (intentional or otherwise). This one will be quick, but I did want to touch on it because I thought it was interesting. Maybe I'm reaching at this point, but I'm assuming you read the tin.
First of all, Crowley not wanting to admit to never firing a gun before; comes off as someone who very much does not want to admit to their crush that they're a virgin ("You must have done this lots of times!" / "Umm.... yyyyyeah.")
(You could make the argument that Aziraphale having a firearms license and a Derringer in a hollowed-out book is symbolic of him not being a virgin while Crowley is. I disagree, for reasons I'll go into later, but it's a valid reading. However, I see it more like keeping a condom in your wallet; it's there in case you need it, but the opportunity has not yet risen no pun intended.)
More importantly, the theme of this entire minisode is trust. We already know they trust each other with their lives against the rest of Heaven, Hell, and the world. But specifically, this is about the importance of having complete trust in your partner in a charged, physically vulnerable, intimate moment, where the only danger is between the two of you.
Aziraphale needs to believe Crowley would never hurt him if he can help it. Crowley needs to trust Aziraphale's unwavering blind faith in him. Frankly, it all feels very symbolic of two people deeply in love losing their respective virginities with each other.
The trick is a success, and they share an intimate candlelit dinner in which they reaffirm their faith in each other. Aziraphale also begins to voice his agreement with Crowley, that maybe Heaven's rules shouldn't have to be as black and white as they are, and that there are benefits to... blurring the lines, shades of grey, wink wink (at which point even my mom was like, whoa guys, this is a family show).
Btw also: Can we all agree how much it looked like Crowley was getting ready to get a lapdance in that one scene? You know the one.
Also also: "Aim for my mouth"? Come on.
The Birds & The Bees
Now that I think of it, there's also something to be said for the fact that Crowley and Aziraphale are both obviously familiar with where babies come from (how they're made and how they're born) while the other angels aren't.
Something something Aziraphale and Crowley fundamentally understand sex and reproduction in a way the other angels (and probably demons) very much do not, nor have any desire to.
Probably not important. Just thought it was worth mentioning.
The Kiss™ & Religious Trauma
The Kiss. Where to even begin?
This has definitely been the hardest one to start, because there is so much going on here that I definitely won't be able to cover it all, and will certainly miss a few things here and there.
Aziraphale's reaction to the kiss afterwards is the most interesting to me. And I don't mean directly after, I don't mean the "I forgive you" part. I mean the way he touches his lips when Crowley is no longer in the room and he no longer needs to save face, when he is completely alone. Had it been directly after the kiss, it would have been rightfully read as horror, or disgust, a shield to discourage further action.
It's not. It isn't just a touch, it's a press. As desperate and angry and unexpected and imperfect as the kiss had been, Aziraphale is pressing it into himself, recreating the feeling as best he can. Beneath all the poor timing and shock and hurt from their fight and fallout, I think it's fair to say that it was something he enjoyed. Something he doesn't think he should enjoy, something that Feels Good that he only allows himself to indulge in when completely alone.
Remember, Aziraphale's idea of love is Jane Austen and gentleness and courtship and fantasy. If he'd ever even considered kissing an option, it might have been gentle pecks, cheek kisses, forehead kiss, hand kisses. Soft, safe, chaste affection.
Crowley's kiss turns all of that on its head. He introduces physical intimacy in a very real, very messy, very human way that I don't think Aziraphale ever even considered could apply to them. Considering what other angels are like and what they look down on, even Aziraphale's Jane Austen fantasies probably would have been considered taboo.
So for their first kiss to be rough and desperate and passionate in the way it was, of course he was confused and in shock. It was deeply physical, and as overwhelming and awful as it was in the moment, it Felt Good. Enough that he grasped at Crowley and kissed back, if only just for a moment, before stopping himself. Enough that he actively pressed it into his lips afterwards, in private, to remember.
I adore how Neil has decided to evolve these characters past the first book/season. More so in this season, Aziraphale and Crowley have both become such interesting allegories for queer people on either side of the spectrum of toxic religion. Aziraphale in particular obviously, because he is the side that so desperately wants to believe, to make a difference, and to unlearn all of the propaganda he's been fed over such a long time. Just like so much of organised religion, there is so much that he is told, time and time again, that he should not want, that he is silly or stupid or outright wrong for wanting. It reminds me so much of the severe Catholic guilt one might feel for wanting/engaging in sex for the first time, and the stigma of being queer layered on top of that.
What is so critical to Aziraphale's character is that he goes on wanting, and more than that, actively pursues. He was convinced to go up against Heaven and Hell and stop all of Armageddon because he wanted to go on listening to music and eating lunch and reading books and enjoying the simple company of the person he cares most deeply for, even if that person is supposed to be the enemy.
All this to say that if angels are as generally asexual/sex-averse as I believe them to be, narratively speaking, it would make sense for Aziraphale to be singular in that regard as well. Mirroring his first experience with food, it would make sense for Crowley to be the one to first introduce this new messy, physical, human dynamic between them, for Aziraphale to hesitate (obviously we are at the Hesitation phase at the moment), and then (eventually) for him to dive in wholeheartedly, to absolutely glut himself on this new thing that Feels Good. It would make sense for his character development to show him overcoming his metaphorical Catholic guilt and pursuing the sexual intimacy most (if not all) of the other angels would scorn.
(I can't help but remember that plot idea Neil described from the unwritten sequel, with Aziraphale in a hotel room trying to watch a full porno by way of the free 2-minute teaser clips so he wasn't technically sinning by paying for it. I so hope this is used in season 3, because gosh, I wonder why Aziraphale would suddenly be so interested in observing human physical intimacy after 6,000 years. Lonely and doing a little surreptitious research there, angel?)
Crowley, on the other hand, is the queer person who has broken free from his toxic religion. He prides himself on being his own person, on their his own side. He doesn't have the hang-ups Aziraphale does. He doesn't worry that he's going to be judged or cast aside for wanting things he's not supposed to. So it only makes sense for him to be the first one to suggest/initiate physical intimacy. It makes sense for him to be the one who "goes too fast" (another fantastic example of this dynamic beginning as early as s1; what is that conversation in the car meant to represent, if not Aziraphale being overwhelmed by the intensity of their relationship, and his fear of succumbing to it when he believes he shouldn't? It's also interesting that this is the first conversation to take place in Soho, just after watching Aziraphale realise he's caught feelings for a demon, with the red glow of lust serving as the backdrop).
Do I think the kiss in and of itself was sexual? No. I think it was a passionate and devastating last-ditch effort on Crowley's part to convey the way he feels for Aziraphale. Not just that he loves him, but that he loves him in the most human way possible. But I do think that the kiss represents how they can move forward from here, and what they might want to explore with each other once they feel free enough to do so.
In Conclusion
I am sure, deep in my bones (unless we are explicitly told otherwise), that this was both of their first kisses no, I'm not counting the gavotte, and that neither of them have ever thought to do anything else physical with the humans while they have been on Earth. Like I said before, they adore the human race and lifestyle in general, but ultimately view them as a separate species altogether, and they seem mostly happy to keep to themselves and each other, unless otherwise necessary. I just can't see either of them being drawn enough to a human to pursue anything close to sex. If Crowley in particular has had anything to do with sex in the context of temptations, I'm positive he would be inciting lust amongst the humans themselves, not involving himself directly. At least not that directly.
So, like every other human experience they've had on Earth, sex is something new that they could explore together, just the two of them, on their own side. A deeply intimate, tangible declaration of their love and everything they've gone through to earn it. A visceral finger to give both Heaven and Hell. A renewed appreciation for their corporations and for each other's. A enjoyable method for immortal beings to simply pass the time in each other's company. A new and exciting way to Feel Good, and all the variations that come with it.
You might agree with this post, or you might not. Whether this is something that is ever addressed or not, it doesn't matter to me. This is a brilliant love story either way, and I genuinely feel so privileged to witness it.
But I just can't find it in myself to imagine, given everything we know about these two characters, that sex isn't an experience they would both consume with wholehearted enthusiasm, curiosity, and profound, ineffable adoration.

Due to the culture of looking down on half-bloods in the wizarding world, I can picture Newt!MC sympathizing with Sebek about his internalized racism as they had seen multiple Slytherins act the way he does in order to hide the fact that they're either a half-blood or a muggle born. It'll be touching if while Newt!MC is explaining their world to Sebek they touch upon the blood status subject and bring up example of half-bloods being just as exceptional as any regular magician.
Pairing: Newt!MC x Sebek (Platonic or romantic)Warning: Newt!MC is based off of Newt Scamander, mostly dialogue, short.
Tumblr media
You've met many people on your travels, different races, ethnicities, and so on. Compared to your fellow wizards, you would treat everyone you met with decency unless you saw a valid reason not to. Ever since you arrived at NRC, there were few who didn't let anyone doubt their magical abilities due to their background. Yet there was a certain first year, in your flying class, who often called you human and would talk about humans or about Malleus being superior. Overtime, you learned more about his lineage and how he himself was half human himself which made you thought perhaps that is what fed into his usual behavior.
“Sebek, I didn’t know your dad was a dentist?” You started out as we were studying.
“Why would that be important as of right now?” he told, looking up from his homework.
“You always ask me questions; wouldn’t it be fair if I could not do the same to you?”
He glared a bit as his eyebrow twitched a bit before speaking.
“...yes, he is.”
“Such a fascinating job, he must be quite special.”
“He’s just a magic-less human dentist.”
"So, what? His magical ability does not change the fact that he is special. I presume your mother holds him in a high regard."
"She does, though I do not entirely understand why." He grumbled as he wrote out his notes.
"She likely saw him for who he was rather than the lack of magic." You suggested, only for him to scoff at it.
"That does not take away from the fact that he does not have magic."
"That does not make him any less important besides, do you care about having magic that much?"
"Yes, or else I would be weak, it would've been easier if my father wasn't magicless."
It was a little surprising to hear Sebek be somewhat open with you considering how he's usually yelling at you and such throughout the day, but it was nice. It also showed some of his insecurities about himself.
"There have been many extraordinarily talented people I have met. Many of them being half-blooded magicians that have been more exceptional than the sum purebloods magicians." You start "I do not judge on one's magical capability or who they're related to which you should learn to do as well. Each to their own."
“You won’t see me differently for my blood?” He asked as you shook head before he let out a hearty loud laugh. “I don’t believe you.”
“I remember my first friend outside of school was a young man who was very passionate about baking and didn’t have any magical talent. I still hold him dear in my heart as he's passionate about baking. I envied how easy it was for him to talk to others while I struggled with it. He's one of the most extraordinary people I met.” You smiled gently as you recalled your dear friend.
“He didn’t have any magic?”
“He had some, but he was considered magicless by most and he was fine with that. It didn’t matter if he had any magical talents or not, it mattered that he was passionate, something I admire.”
You both sat there for a while before you packed your books and notes up then got up. Before leaving, you turn to him.
“Don’t let your lineage or magic be how you define yourself. It’s the passion that is what makes someone like you the way you are. You’re Sebek to me. Just remember that.”
You turned on your way and left. The next couple of days, you noticed a small pep in Sebek’s step and how extra loud he was during flying practice. It's good to see some things don't change.

The Maze Runner
Working with the rest of the Gardeners proved to be quite difficult, not because of the stubborn roots of the tree, but because the Builders were also working nearby, and that meant Gally was there.
(M/n) could feel the burn of Gally's stare on him as they worked, everyone around sensed the tense ambiance between them but only those who played true or dare knew why, the rest only thought that maybe Gally and (M/n) had some sort of disagreement or argument. But... If that was the case...
Why was Gally so calm and quiet? The builders realized how their Keeper just kept glancing at (M/n) or even staring, but he didn't look mad, he looked rather relaxed, going as far as to treat them more gently, giving them thoughtful advice instead of yelling at them until they understood what they were supposed to be doing. No one complained but it was a strange change of his behavior, which kind of worried more than one.
On the other side, (M/n) was irritated and felt guilty, refusing to talk to Newt whenever the blond approached him for something not related to work. He was really trying to think how he was gonna apologize and explain things to Gally without dying in the process.
And the time was approaching. At some point, Gally was gonna come over and take him away to talk, probably punch him a couple of times, but he'll just have to wait and see. But with the maze walls closing, it was time to start making dinner, so they only had another hour to work before eating and then, to bed.
"Dinner's ready!" Frypan called alongside Wyck, and everyone cleaned themselves up enough to be able to sit around the few tables and logs, enjoying a fulfilling meal. However, (M/n) could feel his stomach drop every time he made eye contact with Gally, making him lose his appetite.
He excused himself and sat by the bonfire for a few minutes, before he heard the crunching of sticks and leaves behind him.
"(M/n)," Gally was standing there when he glanced behind him, the light of the fire shining on him, "Come with me," he began turning his body to walk away, but his eyes remained on (M/n), waiting for him to stand up and start following him.
Releasing a sigh, (M/n) stood up and put his hands in his pockets, following Gally into the meeting hall. He was worried, maybe Gally was actually gonna punch him, but even if his fist didn't collide with his face as soon the door closed, it definitely would after (M/n) tells him the reason behind the kiss.
They stood there for a few seconds in complete silence, an awkward and tense silence that neither of them knew how to break. But (M/n) couldn't hold back anymore.
"Gally-" releasing a deep sigh, Gally took a few steps forward, placing his hands on (M/n)'s shoulders, looking him in the eyes, effectively making the (h/c) haired male shut up.
"Listen, I..." (M/n) blinked a few times at the sight of a hesitant Gally, he rarely seemed this way, unsure and anxious, it was strange, "I think I like you," with wide-open eyes, (M/n) stared at Gally as he shifted in place, "Maybe it's not love what I feel or more like I'm not sure if it is, but..." Gally took a few deep breaths, his grip tightening on (M/n)'s shoulders as a way to try and calm down his racing heart and shaky hands, "I feel something, and even tho I'm scared, I wanna... Try this out, maybe, if you're up to it...?"
(M/n) has never heard Gally sound so vulnerable, he was showing him a side of himself he has never shown before and he couldn't ignore how the soft look in his green eyes made his heart beat faster.
Then there was the reason that caused all of this in the first place, and he knew he was gonna hurt Gally once he tells him, and he didn't want that. Especially not with the way his eyes seemed to be shining with hope, there was no way he could reject him, could he?
He opened his mouth to answer him, but he didn't know what to say in this situation, and Gally realized.
"Oh! You don't... Have to answer me now," he added with a nervous chuckle, releasing his hold on (M/n) and scratching the back of his neck.
(M/n) scolded himself and reached his hand to hold Gally's gently, making eye contact with him. He swallowed nervously and nodded, "I would... Like to try it out, Gally."
The usual superior smirk he saw on Gally was replaced by his genuine and shy smile, accompanied by a chuckle and a squeeze of his hand.
(M/n) had no idea what he had just gotten himself into, but there was no going back now. Even so, he couldn't help but think that he would be able to learn more about Gally beyond that tough exterior he had.
///////
The following days were a little awkward for them, still trying to understand how to work this out, and (M/n) ignored everyone's questions regarding Gally, there was something in him that didn't wanna say anything about the situation, most likely because he didn't want to hear them make fun of Gally, who had proved to be quite the sweetheart.
Every now and again, Gally would give him his share of food or help with the garden when he didn't have much to do. They would spend most nights up late, talking a bit and knowing a bit more about each other.
It was kind of crazy how they had been practically living together for a year and didn't know anything about the other, maybe that was what started it all.
They still behaved like friends around the rest of the gladers, and that didn't change much when they were all by themselves, they just weren't used to the physical affection so they were hesitant about it all.
And now, late at night while everyone was fast asleep, they were sitting against a tree trunk on the edge of the woods, looking up at the moon shining bright on them and the stars littering the night sky, they were in complete silence, enjoying each other's company.
Gally turned his head to look at (M/n), blinking slowly and sighing deeply as he looked at him, catching (M/n)'s attention, who couldn't help but feel a little shy under Gally's stare.
Feeling like words would break the moment completely, (M/n) remained quiet, staring into Gally's eyes. He saw him smiling sweetly, his green eyes shifting from looking at his (h/c) eyes down to his lips. (M/n) couldn't help but do the same, staring at Gally's slightly parted lips, he took in a deep breath and slowly leaned closer, hearing how Gally held his breath.
For a moment, he thought Gally didn't want to kiss him, but the way his hand reached up to hold his face gently made a shiver run down his spine, his green eyes were locked on his lips, his mouth opening and closing every few moments, their breathes mixing at the closeness of their faces.
"Please..." (M/n) barely heard his whisper, watching him bite his bottom lip and shift in place, "Kiss me, (M/n)."
Closing the small distance between them, (M/n) pressed his lips on Gally's, hearing his satisfied hum as his hand moved to the back of his head, gently gripping the hair on his nape to prevent him from backing away.
After what left like hours, Gally was the first one to break their kiss, and there was something about the gentle look in his eyes and the sweet smile pulling his lips that made (M/n)'s heart start pounding in his chest. He could look at Gally while his face heated up, watching him lean in to kiss his cheek before standing up from the ground.
"We should go to sleep, it's late," after blinking a few times, he grabbed Gally's hand that was extended to him, walking to the homestead and soon making their separate ways to head to their own beds.
(M/n) spent a few minutes awake on his hammock, frowning at the giddy feeling he felt on his body and the tingling in his stomach whenever he thought of Gally. He found himself soon sighing deeply at the memory of his bright green eyes, those eyes that had a tendency to look more blue than green and vice-versa on certain occasions, the freckles that dotted his nose and cheeks, the frown in his brow whenever he was focused on something.
He certainly couldn't just pretend he wasn't feeling something, but whatever it was that he was feeling...
He liked it, a lot.
//////
Ever since that night, everyone started noticing how close (M/n) and Gally seemed to have gotten, sometimes they even saw them playing around and they heard how happy Gally could be with the right person.
Despite the situation being a mystery to most of the gladers, the group that had been playing true or dare knew better than to think it was just coincidence. Something happened, that's for sure, but (M/n) wasn't saying a word about why he was suddenly best friends with Gally.
But soon, they found out why they were the closest friends now, only it wasn't simply them being friendly.
Like it was usual, (M/n) was gone after mumbling an excuse as he headed to the woods, and well, Newt made Thomas bring more fertilizer as it was usual nowadays, and he did. "Tell (M/n) to come back if you find him on your way!"
Thomas glanced back and nodded as he walked further past the trees, getting into the deep parts of it. He got lost in thought as he wondered what could've happened between (M/n) and Gally, obviously it wasn't anything bad, but it was odd, and unsettling. Maybe because he was used to having Gally yell at him and see him scowling every second of the day. He started to think that maybe Gally wasn't such a bad guy, he was just... Often misunderstood.
He stopped walking when he heard mumbles close by. He didn't realize he had walked way further than he needed, but his curiosity about who was in such a secluded place made him cautiously walk closer. Thomas was quick to recognize (M/n)'s clothes and hair from where he was standing, but there was a hand interlocked on his hair, which confused him, and leaning closer to get a better view, he covered his mouth to prevent the gasp that threatened to escape him.
The last thing he expected was to see (M/n) and Gally pressed so close together... Kissing. His eyes couldn't stare for longer, even less when (M/n)'s hands gripped Gally's hips tighter.
He realized he had to leave right that second or he would be found out, and who knows what Gally would do to him if that were to happen.
//////
Thankfully for Newt, the bell announcing lunchtime prevented him from telling Thomas- for the hundredth time since he came back- to get back to work.
He didn't pay much attention to how Thomas was behaving, but he realized how he couldn't even look at (M/n) in the eye without going pale and glancing away. So he asked.
"What's wrong with you, eh?" Newt casually asked Thomas when they were returning their empty bowls to Frypan, and walking out to rest for a bit before getting back to work. Thomas picked nervously at the skin of his hand and wrist, looking up at Newt from where he was sitting.
"I saw... (M/n) and Gally in the woods..." Newt turned to look at Thomas, there was something about the expression on his face that made him feel on edge, but he didn't say anything, "They were... Kissing..."
Right after saying that, Thomas stood up, panicking as he mumbled how he probably shouldn't have said anything about what he saw, but Newt did a good job at helping him calm down.
"Listen, let's just talk to (M/n) about it, okay? I'm sure he has an explanation," Thomas looked into Newt's eyes, seeing the reassurance he needed and he nodded a couple of times, "But first, we have stuff to do."
Working was quite difficult for Thomas, especially when he caught a glance of (M/n) playfully pushing Gally as they laughed before walking to their respective job places.
"Hey Newt! You need help?" The blond shook his head and silently signaled toward Thomas, who flinched upon making eye contact with (M/n), "Well, greenie, let me help ya."
Despite what he had seen, Thomas realized that (M/n) was the same as always, there was nothing different about him, and he wondered how he managed to hide so well the fact that he had something going on with Gally.
Lost in his mind, he didn't realize the automatic movement of his body, ending up cutting his skin open. Nothing too serious, but it was a cut on his palm, so it was bleeding quite a bit. (M/n) heard his hiss and curse, making him look toward the greenie, who was looking down at his bloody palm.
"Oh god, Thomas," he dropped his tool and rushed toward him, helping him stand up despite his complaints that he was okay, "Let's just get you to the med hut, or it's gonna get infected, come on."
Newt watched as (M/n) dragged Thomas away and he muttered to Zart that he was gonna be right back, following after the two males. Gally saw this happening and he wondered what could've happened, he just hoped it wasn't anything serious.
But with the minutes going past, he saw no sign of either of them walking out, so he decided to momentarily stop what he was doing and go check. He wasn't sure why he did, but he wanted to make sure everything was alright in the med hut.
As he approached, he could hear their voices, gradually getting louder the closer he got, and he realized that they were arguing. Gally frowned at the sound of (M/n) getting into an argument with someone, since he was usually pretty calm and level-headed.
"This is all your and Minho's fault in the first place, Newt!" Gally stayed close to the hut, somewhat hidden as he listened in on their discussion, "None of this would've happened if you hadn't dared me to kiss Gally theat night!"
His breath hitched as he processed the words he just heard (M/n) say. So... That's why...
"Well, you are the one who's still exchanging saliva with Gally, and that's not my fault!" Gally frowned and clenched his jaw, closing his hand in tight fists. He was angry, sad, and disappointed, but most of all he felt betrayed. He was always honest about his feelings, and (M/n) was just making fun of him behind his back.
He was about to turn around and leave, when (M/n) spoke again, more calmly now.
"Newt... Gally isn't what everyone sees, he's not how everyone thinks he is. He's actually... Very gentle and kind, and..." Everyone waited impatiently for (M/n)'s next words, which seemed to take way too long, "I love him. I really love Gally."
Feeling his face heating up, Gally left the med hut and walked back to the builders. He tried to concentrate on the blueprint he had in front of him, but he couldn't, those words repeating over and over inside his mind, but he soon saw the three males coming back, (M/n) walking at the end, looking down at the dirt under his boots.
'I really love Gally.'
(M/n)'s words echoed louder than before, and he couldn't help it.
He began stomping his way to the (h/c) haired male, a scowl on his face, "(M/n)!" He called loud and clear for the gladers around to hear him. Gally's demeanor and body language made everyone think he was gonna punch (M/n), and some of them were ready to break the fight if it happened.
But it never came.
Lifting his arms, Gally held (M/n)'s face still as he leaned closer to him, completely cutting his words as their lips pressed together.
A collective gasp was heard in the Glade, everyone staring with wide eyes at the scene before them. Even (M/n) was staring at Gally in shock, completely frozen in place, which made Gally chuckle, his fingers moving (M/n)'s hair away from his face.
"I love you too. A lot."
The silence was filled by the cheering coming from the builders, soon followed by the Cooks and pretty much everyone that had been there to witness their kiss.
(M/n) felt his whole body heating up and he saw the bright red blush that coated Gally's face, making his freckles more noticeable.
"I'm guessing you heard?" He nodded and reached down to hold (M/n)'s hand when he saw him glancing away.
"We have to talk later, but... We should get back to work for now," Gally let go of him and turned around, ready to head back to work.
"Hey, Gally," he heard (M/n) calling him, making him turn around, only to be caught off guard by another kiss. He let out an involuntary hum as he closed his eyes, but it was short-lived. (M/n) backed away, chuckling at the flustered look on Gally's face as he headed toward the gardens, "Love you."
Hearing chuckles and giggles around him, Gally glared at them, not needing to say anything for them to scramble back to their job places. He grinned to himself and sighed, thinking about finally being able to concentrate on that blueprint.

Lost Fic #161
1. Hi guys, I am trying to find a fic I read once. I think Aziraphale had just moved to America for college under the guise of doing ‘mission work’. He grew up in a very religious home where he was told being gay was wrong and struggles with internalized homophobia throughout the fic. After moving to college, he meets Crowley who is a rich kid drop out who plays rock music in a band. Crowley has a bad relationship with his parents is generally angsty/ and angry at life. The two become friends and eventually become romantically involved. If anybody has any ideas, I would appreciate it! Thanks! - anon
2. I'm looking for a fic. It's one where Anathema and Newt were going to get married and had Aziraphale and Crowley help them with their wedding but Anathema's mother came so they had to come up with a plan B. The plan B was to make it so Crowley and Aziraphale got married instead (I also remember that Crowley and Newt switched outfits, so did Aziraphale and Anathema [also someone fell into a river at some point]) - anon
3. Could you help me find a fic? Aziraphale is a noble of some sort and crowley is a specially trained "courtesan" that Gabriel pays for behind his back (extremely e rated). At the end crowley comes to realize how toxic his situation with lucifer was and he and aziraphale go fight him. Aziraphale then liberates all of the people that were being trained the same way crowley was. - anon
4. hello! i've been having trouble finding a fic with the premise of hell thinking crowley was seducing aziraphale but he wasn't, i don't recall it being an E rated fic or if anything explicit happened. it's been years since i last read it and i can't narrow it down with filters, thank you, you guys are the best <3 - anon
5. Hi. Hello. Uh. Idk if this is the cirrect place to ask but I am getting DESPERATE so I might as wrll try. I am looking for a fic I read, after season 1. I can't remember a lot of details but. If you happened to know that fic or know of a way to find it I would be forever in your debt, I am offering you all my limbs in exchange rn- I can't remember a lot of details but. What I do remember is: Aziraphale was some kinda bigshot/powerful angel originally (possibly Raphael, unsure on that though), relating to firke in some way, and, for reasons I can't seem to recall, reclaimed that power? He and crowley storm hell for some reason? Crowley being in snake Form and wrapped around Aziraphael I think? If you know any of these fics please include the number in your reply! Thank you :) - anon

"The INFP Archetypes"
What makes INFPs different from each other? Well there are many factors. Obviously not all INFPs are the same, and other parts of typology like enneagram, ivs, and socionics do affect this. Some INFPs are also more in tune with their weaker functions (Si and Te) than others. Like the other types, INFPs also have different "archetypes" that are often seen as "general representations" of them. Obviously because mbti is so nuanced and complex, don't fret if you don't identify with any of these! They're very simplified, so not relating doesn’t mean you're not an INFP!
So now let's get into some of the most notable archetypes
1. The Dreamer
Tumblr media
The most notable INFP archetype, one could call it "the INFP poster child." The dreamer is a pure, innocent, curious, sensitive, and idealistic INFP. The dreamer looks at the world with wide, starry-eyes, and wears their heart on their sleeve. Usually the dreamer is also very romantic poetic, and/or artistic, and they have a wild imagination. The dreamer sees the good in everyone and might often merge with/be present in tropes like the manic pixie dream girl, or the soft boy. They have a tendency to be portrayed as mysterious or misunderstood.
Examples of the dreamer: Belle (Beauty & the Beast), Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Amelie, Juliet (Romeo & Juliet), Anne Shirley (Anne of Green Gables), and Celine (Before Trilogy)
2. The Mediator
Tumblr media
The mediator shares the same traits as the dreamer (pure, sensitive, kind-hearted, etc.) but plays a different role in the story. Typically the dreamers are protagonists, while mediators usually have secondary roles. The mediator often acts as a voice of reason, to keep the protagonist in touch with their humanity or to just listen whenever someone needs to let it all out. The mediator is typically very quirky and non-conformist. The mediator is empathetic and usually soften-spoken, but they're not afraid to stand up for others or what they believe in.
Examples of the mediator: Silvermist (Tinkerbell), Mantis (MCU), Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter), Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury (Sailor Moon), and Lucy Pevensie (Narnia)
3. The Seeker
Tumblr media
The seeker, once again, shares the same traits as the other two but has an emphasis on curiosity and imagination. The seeker is not afraid to ponder life's deeper, more complex questions.
As said by @dragonflymage, the seeker often asks themselves questions like
Why do I exist?
Who am I really inside?
How do I fit?
Where do I belong?
They also go on to add this explanation: "A seeker, continuously looking for answers that we never may find, but that we must keep searching for anyway. "
(If you wanna read more from her post I've reblogged it on my page) While they search for these answers, the seeker oftentimes will go on a "hero's journey" in hopes of finding the answer along their quest
Examples of the seeker: Merlin (BBC), Newt Scamander (Fantastic Beasts/HP), Luke Skywalker (Star Wars), Edward Scissorhands, and Frodo (LOTR)
4. The Emotional Villain
Tumblr media
As you can see this one is a complete 180 compared to the other three lol. This pattern doesn't exactly have a name, so I just made one up.
Pretty much all INFP villains I've seen are driven by their emotions. Afterall, Fi is our dominant function. The emotional villain is driven by personal reasons and experiences, they're not just evil for the sake of being evil. Typically the emotional villain is very moody, disturbed, and/or unstable. They are usually the direct opposite of their other INFP counterparts: they are selfish, ruthless, and blood-hungry.
Examples of the emotional villain: Wanda Maximoff (MCU), Joker (2019 ver), and Kylo Ren (Star Wars).
5. The Angsty Teen
Tumblr media
Another really common portrayal of INFPs in media is the angsty teen. This archetype is pretty self explanatory, an angsty hormonal teenager. The angsty teen often struggles with social anxiety, and/other another mental illness. They also might have trust issues, be really moody, or hurting from unrequited love or some other trauma. The angsty teen often copes through artistic means, like poetry or painting.
I feel the feelings on this archetype are very divided. While a lot of people don't like having that image as a representation of their type, some argue that it's a realistic portrayal of the darker side of being an INFP. I personally feel like the angsty teen represents my inner conflicts, while the dreamer, mediator, and seeker represent my outward behavior most of the time. What are your thoughts?
Examples of the angsty teen: Shinji Ikari (Evangelion), Will Byers (Stranger Things), Cassie Ainsworth (Skins), Kou Mabuchi (Blue Spring Ride), Violet Parr (The Incredibles), Nico di Angelo (Percy Jackson), Charlie Kelmeckis (The Perks of Being a Wallflower), Elio Perlman (Call Me By Your Name), Todd Anderson (Dead Poets Society), Fischl (Genshin Impact), Lydia Deetz (Beetlejuice) and Cry Baby (K-12)
There's plenty more archetypes but I thought I'd just focus on these 5. Also remember that these archetypes don't represent all INFPs as a whole, they’re just like "INFPs in a nutshell."
What are your thoughts? Which archetypes do you relate to? Which one's your favorite? Which one's your least favorite?

your username compels me to ask: favorite species each of frog, newt, and toad? any non-frog/newt/toad amphibians you particularly like?
my favorite frog is the golden mantella but honestly all the tiny brightly colored poisonous ones are delightful
These are such hard questions for me. There's so many species that deserve their own essays. I think I'll break this ask into several posts and answer each question over time because I could ramble about amphibians forever.
Let's start with frogs. My favorite frog would have to be Diane's bare-hearted glass frog AKA the Kermit frog:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really really adore glass frogs. They're small, cute, and are fucking rad scientifically speaking. There's very few translucent land creatures because, unlike in the deep blue where light reflects very differently than in the air, it's hard to hide yourself and your innards (especially those bright red blood cells). But these little frogs with their semi-see-through tummies and limbs disappear to predators by making themselves look transparent:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These frogs are nocturnal too, so you would think they'd be more visible when they're asleep during the day when the light is brighter. Nope. They become more translucent by MOVING NEARLY 90% OF THEIR RED BLOOD CELLS INTO THEIR LIVER:
Tumblr media
Glass frogs are so good at hiding that even their blood can hide. This if insane because it doesn't even cause blood clots. Scientists are trying to figure out how these frogs do it to see if they could solve clotting issues in humans with this same mechanism.
Of course, Diane's bare-hearted glass frog became my favorite of the glass frogs due to its resemblance to my childhood icon:
Tumblr media
This unique frog species was discovered in Talamanca Mountains of Costa Rica around April 2015 by researchers Brian Kubicki, Stanley Salazar, and Robert Puschendorf from the Costa Rican Amphibian Research Center. It was named after Kubicki's mom :)
It's discovery also caused such a huge stir on the internet that even Disney published a QA with Kermit talking about it. I think they scrubbed the video, but I did find some quotes from articles that I think are gold:
"The reason this new frog looks so much like me is that her mother and my mother are sisters. It’s a family resemblance.”
“Yes, we’re cousins. In fact, I’m related to every single frog in the world, and I’m close to most toads, too."
"Googly eyes run in our family."
"Shorten your name if you want to make it in show business. Maybe something catchy like Diane Glass or Kermina Kardashian."
"Being green is easy compared to being transparent. I thought that I blended in with so many other ordinary things. And that people tended to pass me over 'cause I wasn't standing out like flashy sparkles in the water or stars in the sky. But when you're transparent, folks really look right through you. It's almost like you're invisible… which might come in handy around Miss Piggy... I take it back. I want to be transparent."

The Hollow Ache of Missing You
Day 6 of @ombrotherlylove2023, and I'm really excited to share this one! Beel is seriously one of my favorite boys and sometimes he just needs a shoulder to lean on. I think he feels a lot of pressure to be strong for his family and I think he can relate to Mammon a lot this way so I decided to pair them for this fic. But I hope you guys enjoy! As usual feedback & Reblogs are appreciated! Now I have to get writing the last prompt lmao
A/N: This is set in Nightbringer Era, but present time brothers! So this is present time Beel & Mammon experiencing the disappearance of MC.
Summary: Beel can't sleep and has been tossing and turning all night. The rumbling of his stomach finally pulls him out of bed to head downstairs for a midnight snack. But his hunger has been insatiable lately, and he finally realizes why.
Day 6: Midnight Snacks & Crying; Beel and Mammon.

Beel has been tossing and turning all night. He’s not sure how his twin brother is sleeping through it all as he’s tucked snuggly into the spot next to him. Belphie has been sleeping beside him in his bed a lot ever since MC went missing. They have both been having a rough time coping with losing yet another loved one, and they have been practically glued to the hip recently more than usual. He stared at the ceiling, attempting to count the hanging star and moon garlands that Belphie had wanted him to put up in their room some time ago. When that didn’t work, he tried to focus on the sound of Belphie’s breathing, smiling when he let out a little snort here and there. Eventually, a loud grumble from Beel’s stomach echoed through the room and he couldn’t take it anymore. He tossed the covers off his legs and grabbed his D.D.D. off his nightstand. It was exactly midnight, and he decided it was time to head down to the kitchen for a midnight snack.
Beel quietly left the bedroom, and headed downstairs. Thankfully, it appeared that no one else was awake at the moment, although he was pretty sure Mammon had yet to return from one of his late night parties. He noticed that his older brother also had his ways of coping with MC’s disappearance. Beel hummed softly to himself as he rummaged through the fridge, finding the snacks he had kept tucked away for nights like these. He pulled out the Bufo Egg Donut he had been saving and quickly devoured it. He practically moaned at the taste, but still felt unsatisfied. He got a bag of Spicy Newt Chips out of the cupboard and began to snack on them as he scrolled through his D.D.D. He opened up Devilgram to see several pictures that Asmo and Mammon had uploaded, as well as a couple from Levi of a new anime figurine he had just acquired. Beel never really uploaded anything to his page, usually only food or the occasional picture of him and…MC. He knew he’d regret it, but tapped on his profile to see his most recent picture. He and MC had recently gone to a food festival in the human world together, and they had taken a selfie while they each held a giant burger as MC kissed him on the cheek. Beel felt the impending wave of sadness wash over him. He knew why nothing he ate satisfied him anymore. It’s because he was hungry for an entirely different reason. The ‘hunger’ he felt was really just a need to fill the void that MC left when they disappeared.
He must have become lost in the memory of the photo together as he didn’t hear Mammon enter the room. He wasn’t even sure how long he had been standing there staring at his phone, while his other hand gripped the chip bag. “Oi, Beel! Beel, are you with me? Hey!” Mammon half-yelled, as he still wanted to be quiet so he didn’t wake the entire house up. He had just gotten back from his party, and was only planning on grabbing a bottle of water to take to his room when he found Beel frozen in place in the middle of the kitchen. Beel finally blinked, lifting his gaze to see Mammon staring at him with a worried expression. “Why are you crying?” Beel’s eyes widened as he finally noticed Mammon as well as the tears that were rolling down his cheeks. “I…um…” he choked out, his hands beginning to tremble. “Hey, hey it’s alright, don’t worry! Easy now.” Mammon mumbled, gently taking the chip bag and Beel’s phone out of his hand. He set them on the counter, glancing down at the picture from Beel’s phone on Devilgram that Beel had pulled up. The picture was blurry from the tears that had been dripping onto the screen, but Mammon knew all too well it was of his little brother and MC. “Beel, you know you shouldn’t be doing this to yourself.” The red haired demon blinked, his violet eyes filling with tears once more. “I-I realized why it’s worse now. My hunger, I mean.” Mammon leaned against the counter, his gaze fixed on Beel. “Because you miss them, right?” Beel nodded sadly, bringing his hand to his stomach. “I know how you feel. It might not be with food, but my gambling and spending has become way worse.” Mammon paused, stealing a glance down at the shiny gold watch against the tanned skin of his wrist. He had managed to win it at that night’s gambling session at the casino. “All of our sins seemed to intensify the moment MC disappeared.” Beel’s lower lip began to tremble again. Mammon was right after all. Belphie was hardly ever out of bed and Lucifer had even been testing his patience lately with his prideful and short tempered attitude. He just wanted MC back. He wanted them home and wrapped up safe and warm in his arms where they belonged. But he didn’t want to cry anymore, especially in front of his brothers. He may be the 2nd youngest, but he was supposed to be the strongest.
Mammon finally pulled him from his thoughts. He realized more tears were running down his cheeks, and his mouth felt like cotton. “Here, take this.” he said, handing Beel a bottle of water. Beel nodded graciously and began to take slow sips. “That’s it, just take it easy. Do you need me to go get Belphie?” The 6th born shook his head, not wanting to wake his twin for some silly reason such as this. “Okay. Well how about we just sit for a little while. You got another bag of chips?” Beel smiled slightly as he nodded, stepping over to the cupboard once more to get out another bag of Spicy Newt Chips for Mammon. “Thanks. Let's go to the living room, it’ll be way more comfy in there.” The two of them headed into the giant common room and sat down on one of the couches together. They sat in silence for a while with only the sound of crunching potato chips filling the room. “Hey Beel, I was just thinking. It’s like, okay for you to cry, yanno?” Beel blinked at Mammon’s words. “What do you mean?” Mammon shrugged, tossing another potato chip into his mouth. “It’s just that I don’t want ya goin’ and thinkin’ you have to be strong for us all. Just cause you are strong doesn’t mean you have to be all the time.” Beel glanced down at the ground as he fidgeted with his hands. “Thank you, Mammon… I want you to know it’s the same for you. The others give you a hard time but…” he glances up, his violet eyes shimmering with the remnants of tears. “You can always talk to me if you want. I know MC was special to you too.” Mammon blushes as his own eyes begin to water. “I-I uh, dunno what you’re talkin’ about…but uh… thanks Beel.” This time Beel smiles, an actual genuine smile that Mammon knows isn’t just a facade. “Mmhm, MC may be special to us, but we are also special to them. I know they’d want us to take care of each other while they are away.” At his words, Mammon grins and gently bumps Beel’s shoulder. “I can hear them yellin’ at us for moping around like we are.” Beel chuckles, finishing up the last of his chips. The hunger has seemed to dissipate for now. “Yeah, me too. We should probably get to bed because they’d be scolding us for staying up too late.” Mammon gives Beel a pat on the back, wishing him a goodnight before heading off to his own room. Beel makes his way back to his as well, quietly crawling into bed beside his twin. “Mmn, Beel…? You okay?” Belphie mumbles, still half asleep. His eyes are slowly blinking awake, the concern for his brother overpowering the desire to keep sleeping. Beel nods, pulling the covers back up over his legs. “I am now. Let’s go back to sleep, Belphie.”

Next on the list of Autism Acceptance is Newt Scamander. Special case as he’s like the character I relate to the most but hardest to draw for numerous reasons so here’s a bowtruckle!!
What I love about Newt is Eddie's performance and his personality. Everything to how he walks, his posture, his overall uncomfortableness and natural avoidance of eye contact, for once it felt like I was seeing myself in another character, I felt seen in a new way by Newt Scamander and watching his special interest saving the Wizarding World makes me more comfortable in my own skin and interests. As well as his ease to just be himself, from swinging from lamps to licking the ground, Newt has no trouble being Newt.
And my favourite part really of Newt’s story is introducing Jacob to the case and just how much more natural he seems in that world rather than by other humans. He’s so confident and all into these creatures and his compassion is wonderfully played out.
But the scene I highlighted here is a younger Newt comforting Leta. He’s not doing it by hugging or asking her about the experience. He’s doing it by introducing her into his life and playing his interests into the mix to try to cheer her up. I have read how ASD has a different way to comfort and more naturally want to fix the problem for them or offer them help through actions and not words and I kind of felt this fitted in there.

Hi! I'm the anon who asked about the logistics of together-the-whole-time twist back again. Firstly, thanks so much for your response! Secondly, sorry, should have worded that better! It's not the sleeping together part that would be the twist for me - I actually was confident we'd get the romance canonised, either with a kiss andor with an outright declaration and some hand-holding-forehead-kisses-type tenderness, though not necessarily until the 3rd season, I'm definitely on board with 1941 part 3 and now that they've kissed I have a pretty good feeling about some shape or form of implied, innuendoed or faded-to-black sex scene, or even something like Newt and Anathema, if it fits, in the next season - it's more about the fact that a first kiss an insanely long time ago and a secret, coded, largely unspoken romance since then that's been happening mostly past the audience's nose would put a pretty dramatic spin on everything else we've seen so far. A change our entire perspective and everything we thought we knew spin. Because that would mean that the story we thought they're telling is not in fact the story they're telling after all, that we've gotten the first 2 seasons in a completely wrong context, and that's where the feeling that this might be too much of a rug pull comes in. You don't need to respond again if you don't want to, after all you've already laid out your thoughts excellently as always, just thought I'd give you a follow up. Anyways, hope I'm wrong and you're right!
Hi. I appreciate your follow up. Please help yourself to cookies... Apologies for the delayed response. I save Asks as drafts in my folder to reply to if I'm going to and I somehow overlooked this one for awhile so I apologize. Let me add a few things here about why I really, really, really disagree with the idea that an ancient times vavoom would be "a rug pull" as you put it and "not the story they're telling." (I'm also not sure how you're okay with one happening in 1941 but not millennia ago when, really, both would mean that you'd have been "fooled" by the story? What's the difference, really?) This is actually exactly the story they're telling and there are plenty of suggestions of that.
I recently wrote a meta that I'll link at the bottom listing all of the things that Good Omens has shown you and then provided context for you later and I didn't get through a third of them... that I've even noticed so far. I'm sure there are more. What this does is recontextualize what you've been watching. It deepens it. You call that a "rug pull" with a tone that hints you might think it deceptive in a negative way. I see it as literally brilliant sleight-of-hand storytelling that's innocent in its intent. It's trickery in a magic show sense. Part of my argument to you is that a show where one of half of the couple we're talking about is a magician has a theme of narrative sleight-of-hand lol. It is very much intentionally not giving you all the information you need to have a complete picture of any one scene from only that one scene by design. It's been doing this all along and it is a way of building layers into the story and your understanding it. There is no reason not to think that this would not be the case for scenes related to the central relationship of the show that is between its main characters because every single one of them to date has already been about them.
I don't think the audience would find this complicated so I don't see it as too much of a deception. I think people would kinda go nuts for it, actually lol. You're already watching a show that keeps telling you things later that have you recontextualizing what you've already seen so don't sell yourself or the audience short. All it does is then allow the audience to see what a bunch of us expect is already there anyway. It'd make rewatching the show even more fun. If you ever want to already get a taste of that, theorize for a bit that I'm right and that this has been going on for ages and then go rewatch the show a bit and see what you spot in places. You'll be surprised by how much it all just sorta slides into place. That's because they've built it that way. You're reading a novel that's written out of chronological order and you're only two-thirds of the way through it... are you not expecting a few surprises and some deepening of your understanding of what's going on before the end of it? This show is no different.
I guess I'm saying that ain't no way that the show that keeps making scenes that change your understanding of scenes you've already watched and, as a result, your understanding of Crowley & Aziraphale's relationship, isn't planning the mother of all those scenes that will completely recontextualize the whole damn thing. They are absolutely going to have kissed before 2.06 but the way they recontextualize the whole series at once is if they make the first one near the start of the timeline.
S3 audience during The Ancient Times Vavoom lol:

I love Good Omens because to me it is like the show portraying a diverse aro-ace and neurodivergent experience
and it's probably completely unintentional because all those parts just come from them all being demons and angels and not inherently having attraction or understanding of human experiences or social norms. they're romantic and sexual attractions are not the same as any human's attraction because their's is not inherent. Like Crowley and Aziraphale are really close to each other and have a deep emotional bond but that doesn't inherently translate to romantic or sexual attraction that is just one thing that they know people with deep emotional bonds do sometimes and could be a good thing for them too.
They just want to be together and to recognize their very deep emotional bond and how much they care for each other but they don't have to have romantic or sexual attraction for that.
This also applies to Gabriel and Beelzebub. They're very close yes but that can be interpreted as a romantic relationship or a QPR or anything along those lines.
even Anathema and Newt's relationship doesn't inherently imply sexual or romantic attraction they just both wanted to have sex at that moment for other reasons and decided to stay together afterwards.
The relationships in this show are all different and can be understood as any number of things and there are no rules to any of the relationships they're just all figuring out their own things and how they relate to each other.
like unintentionally, this is the most aro-ace show I've ever seen

No Difference

Author’s Note: Hi, it's been a while since I update. My google doc I had full of some of my WIPs got deleted so I lost some of the previous request.
Request:
Due to the culture of looking down on half-bloods in the wizarding world, I can picture Newt!MC sympathizing with Sebek about his internalized racism as they had seen multiple Slytherins act the way he does in order to hide the fact that they're either a half-blood or a muggle born. It'll be touching if while Newt!MC is explaining their world to Sebek they touch upon the blood status subject and bring up example of half-bloods being just as exceptional as any regular magician.
Pairing: Newt!MC x Sebek (Platonic or romantic)
Warning: Newt!MC is based off of Newt Scamander, mostly dialogue, short.
Tumblr media
You've met many people on your travels, different races, ethnicities, and so on. Compared to your fellow wizard, you would treat everyone you met with decency unless you saw a valid reason not to.
“Sebek, I didn’t know your dad was a dentist?” I started out as we were studying.
“Why would that be important as of right now?” he stated, looking up from his homework.
“You always ask me questions; wouldn’t it be fair if I could not do the same to you?”
He glared a bit before speaking with a slight hesitation and suspicious tone.
“...yes, he is.”
“Such a fascinating job, he must be quite special.”
“He’s just a magic-less human dentist.”
"So what, his magical ability does not change the fact that he is special. I presume your mother hold him in a high regard."
"She does, though I do not entirely understand why/" He grumbled as he wrote out his notes.
"She likely saw him for who he was rather than the lack of magic." I suggested, only for him to scoff at it.
"That does not take away from the fact tha he does not have magic."
It also sowed some of his insecurities about himself.
“Of course not, for I am Sebek, skilled magician and retainer of the great Malleus Draconia!"
It's good to see somethings don't change. We went back to studying and later on, you saw Sebek still prideful and his loud self, but shown a little brighter.

hey, could you go into more detail with what you mean with ‘being precious’ with characters. im curious and i like your writing a lot <3
i think it's difficult to express without it reading as just "mary sue" critique, you know. tvtropes bullshit. but it is kind of a thing that occupies the same space. and atop that, it's a thing that's a little bit difficult to express without context but i think there are three pretty meaningful examples of a character being made worse by the author from which you are smart enough to discern what i mean
the thing which ties them together is this: you are meant to come out of their story with an affection for the character that rivals the author's care for them - the author wants you to feel as much for this character as they do, but is afraid of portraying the character in flawed or even grounded ways, when the character's flaws or ways in which they are a grounded character tend to be what makes them relateable or worth caring about.
example number one is albus dumbledore. the end of harry potter is genuinely one of the worst things i've ever read, even before the terf shit, and this is best expressed through the way characters around him act - he is always right, except when he's wrong, but the ways in which he's wrong are okay because the character archetype that he turns out to be in the last book before he dies is "guy who makes the hard decisions because nobody else will", winston churchill guy. and naturally, jk rowling adores him so much that she made him the protagonist of her flop three-movie pentology even though there was a better protagonist right there with newt. he is a character who is thoroughly adored by the author in a way that ruins the story.
example number two is johnny, from the room. tommy wiseau is by no means a great artist, but i think a lot of people resent analyzing the room as art because it is so obviously bad and i think that takes away from its most compelling fact. johnny is characterized as too good for this world, as though the world itself was closing in on him, ready to take him out. his future wife is cheating with his best friend, lying about him being an abuser to her friends, his boss doesnt give him his promotion for no reason, his mother in law would put aside her cancer diagnosis to further tear apart her daughters marriage, and through this, johnny does nothing wrong. he was always too good for this sinful world. he is a character who is thoroughly adored by the author in a way that ruins the story.
example number three, as mentioned in that last ask, is lin manuel miranda's portrayal of alexander hamilton, which kind of combines the both of the previous examples. throughout hamilton, alexander hamilton is repeatedly portrayed as a tortured artist, a guy who writes like he's running out of time, a guy whose writing is so powerful that he could have meaningfully changed the world, if he were not also, a dipshit idiot who got shot in a duel. and hamilton is interesting, because the story itself bends over backwards to imagine new outs for him. when his wife, who is so upset by his actions that she exempts herself from being in the writings from which hamilton was based, something i am to believe is made up whole cloth for hamilton, the story itself goes out of its way to say "what if the stuff that his wife destroyed would have redeemed him" when the answer is, probably not, he was a shithead, but lin manuel miranda can't help but ask, "what if hamilton was actually just like me fr, a misunderstood dude who just wanted to make great art", he is a character who is thoroughly adored by the author in a way that ruins the story.
i dont really want to use the term "mary sue" or whatever because it is pretty loaded, and honestly, if the story you're telling justifies this feeling, i tend to really enjoy characters who really are just flawless, characters who the authors love and want you to love too. but theyre character studies - half blood prince and deathly hallows are almost entirely about dumbledore and his relationship to the cast, and it's the worst shit i've ever read. the room would be so unbelievably forgettable without johnny. and hamilton is hamilton.
and its the kind of thing i found myself prone to doing too - that kind of feverish, "he would not fucking say that" behavior about a character who would definitely, absolutely do that. i felt this way for a while about jane in post-canon, and i still kind of think post-canon jane deserved a better arc, to make a tragedy out of her existence, but that is a desire i have because i care a lot about jane crocker, you know?
