“Issue #19: Kindness for the Dying Is Easy to Spare”
It’s nice to finally be able to pay off the foreshadowing I’ve done for Wild Rose all the way since Issue #9. Poor Rosey, though; I didn’t expect to get so attached to her, and now I feel bad about killing her off. She’s also the first of the [spoiler name] characters to be revealed, so you can go look through her tag and examine all the previous posts I’ve made about her.
Pinepaw also gets to learn more about Deepdark, perhaps more than he wanted. Maybe he’s on the path of something he’d not rather follow...
This issue was also somewhat cathartic for personal reasons, so I appreciate it for helping me work through some emotions.

Excerpt from Chapter 3 - Toss a coin
"Cahir?" Carefully, Geralt rolls the young man over. His face is covered in blood and blood is still gushing from his nostrils in scarlet rivulets. He moans, then blinks his eyes open with an effort.
"Gods, are you alright, brother?" Geralt asks, worried. Cahir grunts and struggles into a sitting position, then suddenly leans to the side and starts to vomit violently. Geralt quickly puts his arms around his friend's trembling torso and holds him up while he is puking his guts out.
"Feeling better?" the Witcher asks when Cahir is done. Spitting out one last time, he nods faintly and tries to get to his feet. He is so shaky though that he has to lean heavily on Geralt to stay upright.
"What happened, Cahir?" Geralt inquires, picking up his friend's sword with his free hand. The torch has gone out. "Are you hurt?" Except for the heavy nosebleed, he has not detected any other signs of a serious injury on his companion. However, he might have overlooked something. Perhaps not all of the troll's blows missed their intended target?
"No, don't think I'm hurt. Just nauseous and dizzy. Damn—" He doubles up once more, holding his stomach while retching up mostly bile and the very last remnants of his lunch. "Gods, I feel like shit," he murmurs when finally the heaving has stopped.

I bought the latest issue of King Spawn on Wednesday. Here is my short review.

I was wondering something about the title of issue 19, “Kindness for the Dying Is Easy to Spare”. Does it mean that it's easy to be kind when you're dying, or easy to be kind to someone who is dying?
It means that it's easy to be kind to someone who is dying, yes. Hence Pinepaw bringing Wild Rose the water and talking with her, although Cootstorm warned him against helping sick animals.
I find that it should be the easiest thing in the world; they're already going to die. It costs you nothing to be kind, and means everything to someone in their last moments.

the genocide of palestine is a mass disabling event. if you said this about COVID, you need to be saying it now, too. you cannot only care when there are dead. you must care about the living - the suffering and the disabled, too.
this is one of the most grave examples of what disabled activists mean when we say that our suffering does not mean we do not deserve to live. giving voice to suffering and uplifting those speaking on it does not mean disabled people should not exist.
from the river to the sea, palestine will be free. and so will all her disabled people. they will live - even the dead will live on in the survivors. we must do everything in our power for there to be as many survivors as possible.
