I dreamt that there was this popular disco elysium headcanon that Kim Kitsuragi had twice's Feel Special as his ringtone (my subconscious is a fake ass de fan who doesn't know they don't have cell phones) and I woke up furiously thinking “he would NOT. years of acquaintances expecting him to be into the J- and K-pop scene simply because he is Seolite has driven him far away from the genre, to the point he probably even holds a mild disdain for it"
Hyunjin showing his new hairstyle (undercut) and then being super cute 🥟😚
🥟 : I really didn't think we were going to win anything at the vmas today. we went there not really expecting anything so we were really surprised. we heard that it was an award that stays had to vote for so we were really really touched. thank you so much
🥟 : at the awards show, it was fascinating to see artists I never thought we'd see. it was such an honor and so much fun. I was nervous and we received an award too. it's something i'll never forget
•hyunjin says that he's thankful that stays like his hair 🤍
•hyunjin says that since his hair is long, the undercut isn't even obvious until it's fully styled
•hyunjin says that he was so nervous today he wasn't able to do anything. after the live, he'll shower and finally get a burger to eat!!
•hyunjin says that when they heard they were going to the vmas, they didn't anticipate getting an award and just thought of it as a good opportunity to be there ☹️
🥟 : it's crazy, right? to receive an award at a huge awards show...thank you for creating another good memory for us, stay.
Breaking down some of the style influences for Rainbow High’s Tiara Song
I was super curious about the references for Tiara’s look, so I spent the morning looking into it!
Starting with runway influences: we have this one shoulder blazer dress worn by Bella Hadid at Redemption’s show for Paris Fashion Week 2019.
This dress spawned an insane amount of fast-fashion dupes like these:
and it seems to have brought even more attention to the already-emerging trends of blazer dresses and asymmetrical looks
Now, let’s talk about how those trends are seen as worn by members of K-Pop group BLACKPINK!
Blazer dresses have been hugely popular in the past couple years, especially in South Korea. Here are just a few examples of blazer dress looks on members Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo.
Asymmetrical styles are also commonly worn by the girls, and Lisa in particular is known for sporting this trend
Honorable mention: this look worn by Jisoo in the “Kill This Love Music Video”:
Now just a couple notes on styling! By now you’ve probably seen that Tiara’s.. well, Tiara, is a clear reference to the cover for BLACKPINK’s first album.
Her hairstyle, in my opinion, could also be a reference to BLACKPINK member Rosè’s iconic purple hair era
Oh, and of course there’s a BLACKPINK reference made in the fact that Tiara’s dress is... ya know... black and pink.
So there you have it! Go easy on me as I am not an expert on fashion or K-pop, but I had a lot of fun researching and I can’t wait to see what references we get for the other two group members!
