When my friend Martearty shared this meme to our little art server, I couldn't resist joining with Ludwik 💖

Ludwik and Molly's story is very special to me; a journey about finding and defining yourself anew, rising again after the world has beaten you down entirely, and as always - the immense and transformative power of love in all its forms 💖

Ludwik's story doesn't have a happy beginning. It's filled with strife, hardships and agony. Abused by his father the boy is destroyed down to his core, cursed to become the same monster as his father... but through his journey, Ludwik rises again. He finds the strength to break the chain and free himself. From exiled prince to rising as king of the new world he creates with his friends and lover Molly, he finds that despite life's dark corners, there is light and joy to be found. His experiences has left their irremovable marks, but they need not define him or steer him down a path of darkness and lonliness.

Despite everything, he survived and came out a stronger, kinder and braver man. His future is bright, and it gets better 💖

A rare lore illustration for once. I really should draw more of this kind of stuff too between all the romance, it's very cathartic 💖

He was exhausted, the fight had been tough, unbearably so. It wasn’t often Ludwik met creatures that could withstand his ferocity, his beast like strength... but this was no ordinary monster. The deep ridges running along his shoulder and arm ran deep, and bled profusely, but he couldn’t feel it. Not yet.

Thanks to Molly’s quick thinking she had given him an opportunity to get away, to run into the darkness and try escape the horror that now chased them... Ludwik gasped for breath as he hurried through the thick forest with Molly in tow.

She was quiet. Uncharacteristically so. He wouldn’t soon forget the petrified look in her hazel eyes, the quivering lower lip as she fought to keep her calm. She was beyond frazzled. Ludwik was certain that if he let go of her small hand, her shaking legs would give in, and she wouldn’t be able to get back up. But he wouldn’t let that happen. Wouldn’t let anything befall her... he’d protect her, at any cost...

Drawtober nr 3: Protection!

I wasn’t really happy with how Ludwik looked in the new artwork I made of him and Molly, so I decided to try combo his original crow design with the beast design (you can see the old versions in the tag Ludwik and Molly on this post if you’re curious about how he’s developed).

I like this comboed variant much better, and I feel it fits his personality and story more :3 I started the Drawtober challenge with the intent of figuring out these characters, so I feel like this has been a good exercise!

There’s an alternative, more horror-ish version beneath the cut, but beware it has CW // some blood :)

After having searched through hundreds of books, Molly finally found what they were looking for. In a way she was disappointed. The book was rather unassuming, not like she had imagined. No grand decoration with gold and jewels on the cover, no twisted human skin binding its fleshy pages. It didn’t talk or open by itself. It was a painfully ordinary book on the outside... but its contents were a wholly different story.

“I can’t believe it. I’s really here,” she whispered as she leafed through the old worn tome. Ludwik’s hulking form suddenly squeezed past the bookshelves behind her and Molly looked up at him as the warm glow of his lantern enveloped them both. His face was wrought in an excited, yet somewhat concerned grimace.

“With this tome, we can put a stop to everything that’s happened...”

So I finally finished my first Drawtober / OC-tober prompt, DISCOVERY! I’m trying to learn to simplify my workflow and artwork for the comic, and it hasn’t been an easy ride x’D I’m planning to make a few more of these to explore Ludwik and Molly’s designs, and their relationship dynamic as well as the world they’ll inhabit. I’m excited to share the journey with you, and I can’t wait to see how things develop as we go along :)

I’ve had these two OCs for a while now (their names are Molly and Ludwik, maybe you’ve seen their previous renditions), and lately I started to seriously work on a comic project for them! Of course it’ll be a fantasy romance, with a hint of adventure, mystery and maybe a touch of darkness too? :>

Who doesn’t love a good Beauty and the Beast couple though. I know I do, so it’ll be fun to see how these two develop as I work on their story.

Been seeing this fun little meme float around on Twitter and I wanted to join :D

Needless to say, Ludwik has a flair for the dramatic, he can be gloomy, anxious and easily irritated. He hides a kind and fragile heart behind that grouchy exterior though. Molly on the other hand is down to earth but strong willed, confident and clever. She’s compassionate and patient, but takes shit from no one :’D

Molly had been asleep for the past few hours, her warm body curled up in Ludwik’s lap. Her steady breathing was barely audible between the trickle of rain and the gentle rustle of leaves. Ludwik gripped his cloak anew, adjusting it so it would continue to shield them both from the elements.The woods were eerily quiet, and a sense of unease had settled in Ludwik’s gut as he kept watch.

A hollow howl breached the silence. It came from somewhere deeper in the woods and chilled him to the bone. He’d heard it before, in the past, when he’d travelled through the forest alone. Ludwik’s pulse and breath began speeding up, but he tried to quiet himself, to remain calm.

A ghastly glow lit up the clearing ahead, and a strange creature not made of this world glided through the brush. Its long, fleshy neck swung this way and that as it moved. Ludwik held his breath as the creature’s head came to a halt. Its yellow eyes peering through the darkness.

Please... don’t come this way, Ludwik prayed silently.

Drawtober nr 2! I was supposed to try a simplified background to practice for my comic, but suddenly I was gripped with the urge to paint. So I did! I had a lot of fun playing around with the colors for this one, a proper spooky contribution for October I’d say :)

I just wanted to thank everyone for giving Molly and Ludwik such a positive reception and for following along on my Drawtober :) Its been a great ride exploring their designs, personalities and story. While I feel I’ve found some cores to their designs, there are still things to refine and to change around.

Last year on my birthday I drew myself a sexy pinup, and I thought I should follow up this year as well! So happy birthday to me, here’s my gift to you guys; A somewhat melancholic but spicy piece of my boy Ludwik, who I hope to one day make a story or comic with.

The art server I’m on held the Screenshot-redraw challenge this week, and I had to join of course! I love Howl’s Moving Castle, and this scene in particular always stuck out to me. I love the emotion present in it, and I wanted to use it for my own twist!

I drew Ludwik and Molly, but whereas Howl and Sophie’s scene is melancholic, Molly and Ludwik’s is one of anger and resentment. Molly obviously put her trust in him for something, but it doesn’t seem like Ludwik lived up to her hopes and expectations...
