He would worry on about the uneven volume displacement, saying it was just worsening his uncomfortable and unavoidable hearing loss. Buying a connector for the two of your headphones to poke into, sure the wired ones are old, but you’re not walking away from him. Gaz would rub his phone screen before hand, worried his fingerprinted screen matted the apps. So badly does he want to watch your face move with the start of his songs, gauge the reactions and hope for the best. It wasn't too sappy hopefully. Past a certain point the motions become more loose, plugging in the connector and handing you a wire without word. Tapping a smooth beat into your knee, turning opposite to you and etching rhythm with his head.

He’s tried taking photos of you in these times. Angling the black dot to your distracted eyes, having pretended to show you a playlist. In the lenses you are smiling, looking to him and not the phone. Shamefully, you’d swat it away noticing. He plays it off, shifting his back off the couch and wedging the phone into the backs of his jeans. You’ll confront him, laughing. He would ignore it, ask if you were talking to someone else, turning on his hips to look for whoever you were accusing.

You guys have a song. The ones you slow dance to and recognize on radios. He’s spun you around, looping you from the trawls of pasta sauce and deep set spoons to haphazardly serenade you. Pull at his face to make you smile, sing in the worst of pitches, dance in the foulest of ways. But it’s all for you.

* so you know how Gaster is the one that’s talking during the goner maker segment (it’s technically not confirmed that it’s him but I mean cmon, it’s pretty obviously him)? And then, at the end, it’s very clearly someone else saying that the vessel is now discarded (possibly Chara if you count how the text is written in Japanese)

* it’s kind of implied that the discarding wasn’t meant to happen, that Gaster did not plan this and that this was out of his control. And obviously because of this, I’m sure he’d be pretty concerned that someone just hijacked his experiment and is now doing who knows what with his plans

* so what if the snippet of mus_smile that plays when kris tries to call on the phone in the dark world is actually Gaster trying to warn us about this other entity? But, since phones don’t really work in the dark world, it just comes out as “garbage noise”, so we can’t understand his warnings
