Good news from Kansas! (finally!)

In an outcome that may ripple through politics nationwide, Kansas voters on Tuesday overwhelmingly defeated a constitutional amendment that could have led to the banning of abortion in the state.

The vote, coming just two months after SCOTUS reversed the landmark Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion, was seen as the nation's first major public referendum on the abortion question. 

Despite predictions that the vote would be close, Kansas voters handily defeated the amendment. With about 87% of the vote reported Tuesday night, “no” held a commanding 59.7% to 40.3% lead: 491,668 votes to 331,564 “yes” votes. 

In Douglas County [the bluest in the state], the margin was even more lopsided: 81.5-18.5% voting “no.”

Douglas County Clerk Jamie Shew estimated that about 40,000 votes were cast, representing nearly half of the registered voters in the county. “That starts to get into, like, general numbers in a governor’s race. I mean, that’s huge.” 

here's hoping this starts a trend of states reaffirming human rights and bodily autonomy and giving a big middle finger to the corrupt SCOTUS decision

World Economic Forum : " Brain Transparency "

So the Link I want to post Won't populate here on Tumblr.. which is... Interesting.. But Screen Shots are a thing and other ways of linking work too!

They call it "Brain Transparency" in which headsets will scan your brain to make sure you're focusing on work and only on work. And joke that if you don't want to use it, you can just get fired. When I heard brain scanning teach was getting really accurate around 2012, and could even get close to picturing what people where looking at. I was "concerned" to say the least. 11 years later. In one way it was stated (back then) it could help with neurological issues and people in comas, but also could help improve "work effective focus monitoring"... So Yeah I wonder which path of research got most of the funding
