What if Uther persecutes magic, not because of Ygraine, but because of some prophecy? Maybe it was Nimueh or a Druid but at some point, someone tells Uther that Arthur is basically destined to fall in love with and give his kingdom for a magical being. So, Uther, terrified in losing his kingdom to the thing that killed his wife, starts to hunt down magic. He so easily believes that Gwen is a witch because she’s just Arthur’s type, right? It must be her.

The dancefloor is getting more and more crowded as the pace of the music picks up a touch. Ares pulls Arthur in closer to him as they turn, careful to avoid barging into any of the other couples here. As the pair pull closer together, Ares feels sparks of electricity dancing in the air between them.

He dips his head, closing the distance between them and capturing Arthur's lips in a swift, soft kiss. He pulls back, cheeks burning and realises they've stopped dancing.

"Uh... we should trade stamps." True, but not quite what he meant to say. He tries again. "You take my breath away?" Better.

he doesn't mind dancing with ares, at least when he leaves space for bragi. ares suddenly pulls him closer for whatever reason and arthur feels himself freeze up, staring up at him in mild surprise with cheeks tinged a subtle red. he doesn't even really process right away that ares so boldly kisses him… in public.

"i think trading stamps between two very good friends completely misses the point of this kind of event." arthur hisses out of pure embarrassment over the fact that they'd just kissed in front of everyone. did lene see them? she'd probably tease the hell out of the both of them for this. "but i… mmhh. you do the same to me." he grumbles, unable to come up with anything that isn't cheesy as all hell in return.
