Welcome to my blog!

I have just completed my A Level exams, and decided to make this page to post my OCR Religious Studies notes and A* essays.

Most of my notes were made from the textbook, so they will be very similar, although I tried to put in some extra reading where I could.

Essays were marked by teachers who also mark for the OCR exam board.

She wakes up earlier than all others at home - (Proverbs 31:15)

Prepares the family meal with calm and organize her daily tasks (Proverbs 31:15)

Takes care of her appearance - not be complimented by people outside, but by her own family (Proverbs 31:25)

Takes care of her family needs and do the daily maintenance of her home (Proverbs 31:27)

Works with effort and dedication. Wherever she goes she’s a testimony of her family’s good reputation (Proverbs 31:13)

Tries to be creative and bring new investments and opportunities to her family (Proverbs 31:16)

Even at night she’ll save some energy and liveliness to use with her husband (Proverbs 31:18)

a concerning amount of people are saying ashton and imogen are whiny brats that "shouldn't expect the gods to fix all their problems", which kind of ignores the fact that ashton was an abandoned orphan starving to death in the desert for a good few years and that imogen had an unending migraine of everyone's thoughts for her entire life that nobody bothered to help her with (or even COULD try and help her with) because the only person that had a straight answer for her fucked off to join a cult.

The 3 pillars of femininity- nourish, edify and beautify

Nourishing:

The essence of femininity. Providing the conditions so that people can live well. The woman provides what is essential for life to be born and to continue its natural flow. She does this for her children, her husband, her friends and everyone around her. This is the nature of women, human beings are only born after being nourished by a woman during pregnancy. And it is this same nutritious essence that provides the essentials for life to continue at its best. A woman connected with her femininity will make her presence be exactly that to those around her. She is the means for life to flow naturally, she is the guarantee that everyone has a firm rearguard to return to. She nurtures by creating an environment of love and peace for her husband, children and friends. She nourishes by being that point of light in the middle of the darkness. She does this through words of affirmation that uplift, through physical touch that reaffirms love and renews emotional bonds, thoughtful acts of service that make life easier for the whole.

Edifying:

Creating the conditions so that people can live better. While nurturing is giving enough for life, edifying is more than that. It's leading to virtue, it's leading people to their most dignified and highest potential. And this is also a woman's nature. For this reason, it is possible to say that yes, the human being is only born through a woman, but more than that, the human being only reaches its best version through a woman. It is this same edifying essence that sees the potential and prepares the way, points the direction and provides the tools so that this potential can happen. The woman does this by establishing a routine that works and allows everyone to develop intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. The woman does this by being completeness, peace, and an encouragement to do what is right for the man. A woman does this when, through small actions, she sees the formation of a great character in the future. But can you understand that you can only edify, think of the future when people are nourished? For example if a child is starving, will you worry about forming great virtues on them or the first thing you will do is make sure they doesn' suffer from hunger? In relationships, in financial life it's the same thing. A woman won't think of marriage if the dating is not going well. Before you can build the people around you, you need to learn how to nurture them.

Beautify:

The prettiest and most feminine of all. The third pillar. Beautifying is seeking to make everything around you perfect, including yourself. The feminine points the direction of that which is harmonious, ordered and perfect. In other words, a woman beautifies when she makes everything around her become a living reminder of her creator. And it is impossible to do this before nourishing and building.

i know chase obviously wins the religious trauma competition but can we please talk about how foreman was not only raised by a deeply religious father, but was most likely raised BAPTIST. no wonder he’s so repressed. the baptist experience is like. you’re in church every sunday listening to a man scream about how love is something that should hurt. you believe in a good, loving god - but to believe, you have to accept that true love is painful. that to be a good person, you must suffer. to love is to endure it, to work mercilessly. you’re not worthy of the love of The Almighty, and you never will be, and that sense of unworthiness is fundamental to having faith. when you sin, you don’t just hurt Him, you hurt everyone around you. you make the world worse because you have dared commit the sin of existence — to be human is to be sinful. to be loved is to feel unworthy and pathetic and hopeless. like YEAH no wonder foreman self isolates and is emotionally closed off. he was taught from BIRTH that he is fundamentally unworthy of love, and that in accepting love, he is also accepting that he truly is worthless.

#also #i really cant stress enough to non-americans that foreman being black would seriously have had an impact on his relationship with religion #christian ideals are baked into the way racial justice is thought about in the blm movement of today #christianity is also by and large more significant to black americans than it is to white americans because of this #because race and religion are really intertwined #and idk its not. the MOST important aspect of foreman’s character or anything #but i think it’s a lot harder to Get him if u don’t have that cultural knowledge which most americans will inherently understand #also disclaimer im not black. never been to a black church so obviously i cant speak to that experience #however i did go to a baptist school growing up and they REALLY emphasized that i should be ashamed of being alive #obviously this is all me theorizing bc foreman could be some other flavor of protestantism #they’re all varying levels of traumatic tbh #if he was episcopal he probably was listening to people speaking tongues in church which just. yeah. that also really fucks u up #house md #eric foreman #house md hc #house md headcanon #dr foreman

listen you have no idea the kind of deep dive i went down looking up the origins of the names Bartholomew and Thaddeus, wondering if the writers purposely named them after the two apostles that brought christianity to armenia, looking up a bunch of stuff about saints because i know very little about christianity, getting WAY too deep in the weeds seeing if i could write some kind of thematic connection into Frequency, and then realizing this exact thing and being like
