This piece made me want to die many times, but here it is. I originally wanted this to be an animated piece where his beasts were coming out from the scroll, but it's just going to be a painting. Anyway, shout out to Don Lope over on Artstation and his incredible sculpt of Sai with his imitation beasts that can be seen here https://www.artstation.com/artwork/5XvgwP I did not even know where to begin as far as how to approach rendering them in a semi-realistic style and I wouldn't have been able to get them to come out looking nearly as good without stumbling across his work while looking for figures I could reference. He did an absolutely incredible job with his Sai and I want it as a figure so frickin' badly now.
