‼️SPOILER ALERT FOR HELLUVA BOSS S2 E3 EXES AND OOHS‼️
I know this post is pretty late considering that the episode came out last Saturday and I apologize for that, but I still wanted to just make a nice quick and easy recap giving my overall thoughts.
But in short, omg this episode was fantastic! The entire time I felt like I was on a crazy roller coaster ride of emotions. I went from laughing, to crying, to laughing again, to being on the edge of my seat, and so much more. The deep emotional moments hit so hard for me. And it feels like the animation keeps getting better and better with every new episode. The fight scene near the end where Millie went off on a full-blown killing spree was the top tier highlight of the entire show's animation for me, even topping the fight scene from S1 E6 Truth Seekers imo, and that's saying a lot. What I also loved about that scene was that it shows just how powerful and a badass Millie can become when you anger her enough. You do not wanna be messing with her! >:) She is so protective of her husband, and you do not dare touch him or she will unleash her full fury out on you. And that scene really drove the point of the whole episode home that Millie and Moxxie's relationship is just so healthy and strong and not a force to be reckoned with. Not a single thing in Hell can tear them apart from each other.
And don't even get me started on this episode touching on Moxxie's backstory! When I said I was crying at one point in this I was not joking. I already had a feeling that his dad Crimson was not somebody to be trusted before this episode came out, but holy shit, I was not at all prepared to see just how evil and vile this character truly is. He is not only homophobic, sexist, and abusive to his own child, but the fact that he had the gall to straight up murder his own wife??!! Yeah... he's officially at the top of my list for worst Helluva Boss character now. Geez and I thought Stella was horrible, but Crimson has got even Stella beat at this point. And poor Moxxie did not deserve having to grow up in such a hostile environment and go through all that trauma. By the looks of the very end of the episode it seems like this won't be the last time we'll be seeing Crimson. This seems to be a set up for him to be a returning villain and I am all here for it.
As much as I didn't like Chaz because of him being an f-boy who sleeps around and just a really cringy character overall, I have to give credit where it's due and say that he was written very well and I do love his design and voice actor. Though I'm gonna be completely honest, part of me was kinda relieved that he got killed off at the end lol I just did not enjoy watching this selfish arrogant horny dude who was all talk and no show try to interfere with M&M's precious marriage.
Oh yeah and one other thing, why is nobody else talking about how Moxxie is such perfect bisexual representation? 💗💜💙 Being bi myself I just couldn't help but feel so seen the moment he confirmed it. Loona has always been my favorite character since the very beginning, but after this episode, I think Moxxie might just be a close second (and also because he's voiced by my all-time favorite voice actor Richard Horvitz).
Now the only thing that disappointed me about this episode was that Loona was barely in it at all. I was really hoping for more Loona moments, I missed seeing my baby wolf girl so much! 😢
So to sum this all up, I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. It was definitely worth the long wait. This show has not yet once failed to impress me. I hope it continues to head in the right direction and I cannot wait for the next episode! ❤️🖤🤍😈

Can we, as a collective, talk about the parents of Riverdale?
I just recently rewatched season 2's "Judgement Night" and I was reminded why Hiram Lodge, for example, deserves zero redemption and should have been written off the show two seasons ago. Do you guys remember that he manipulated a sixteen-year-old (Reggie) to shoot and possibly kill one of his classmates (Fangs), just so he could win an election? Yeah, that happened. And when Reggie was being hunted by the Serpents, Hiram left him to die as well. Now, I know in the end Reggie didn't shoot Fangs but still...have we just forgotten about this as a whole? And I mean, it's obviously not just that. He's done SO much evil shit, including being emotionally abusive towards his own daughter. But like, call me a softie, whenever an adult hurts a child for their own benefit, I'm usually just like: "Okay, pull the plug, this is it, they gotta go."
And that's not even mentioning Penelope Blossom. Not to only did that woman contiously abuse her own daughter for her whole life, she then ALSO coaxed impressionable youths into comitting s*icide and tried to actively hunt and murder her daughters "friends" for sport because they didn't mourn her son's demise properly or whatever. Don't fucking think I've forgotten about that.
And how do the Riverdale writers think this behavior, these CRIMES, should be punished? Well, not at all of course. Hiram gets to live his best life and constantly falls back into the good grace of his daughter even though he doesn't deserve it. And instead of TAKING HER TO THE POLICE AFTER HER KILLING SPREE, Cheryl GIVES HER MOM A HOME AND A JOB WORKING FOR THE GIRL SHE HAD PREVIOUSLY TRIED TO KILL. And when Penelope almost got attacked by those Irish thugs, not only did Cheryl feel bad for her and try to defend her for some reason, the writers then had Veronica APOLOGIZE to Penelope FOR SOME REASON.
Now, I mainly mentioned these two because they have done some of the most revolting things to kids (and adults alike), but somehow they still get screentime and the writers treat their crimes like they're nothing.
That being said, I have not forgotten about the others. Alice still locked BOTH of her daughters up in a mental institution against their wills, she believed a stranger over her own daughter when said daughter was scared of him, she emotionally manipulated and abused Betty for her entire life, she gave her college money to a cult, made Betty think she's scared of her, sold their house and legit did not care what happened to her after that. All of that was then retconned as her having been undercover for the FBI the whole time, which was a complete and utter bullshit excuse the writers pulled out of their asses at the last second because they didn't want people to hate Alice.
FP was obviously a drunk and constantly doing illegal things with his gang to a point where his wife and daughter moved out and Jughead chose homelessness over living with him.
Gladys brought a drug ring to Riverdale, threatened her son and had previously abandoned him with his drunk dad
At least Hal and Clifford were called out for what they were
Hermione isn't the victim everyone wants her to be. She's complacent with her husbands bidding and also not great to Veronica, which is a shame, considering how good their relationship was in season 1
Nana Rose bought Penelope and forced her to marry her son and continues to be cold towards Penelope to this day even after all the things she did to her
Marty Mantle physically abused his son for years and the writers tried to solve that shit with an off-screen conversation
Sierra did change for the better but also previously put an immense amount of pressure on Josie
Myles seems to have changed as well but he straight up walked out of Josie's performance for no reason in s1 and was acting all kinds of nasty towards her.
Really, the only parents who haven't completely tanked their job are Fred, Mary and Tom.
So, now that my rant is over, I beg of you guys to stop idolizing these parents. I know at the end of the day you can do what you want, but please remember that these people aren't "badass queens" or "wow king", they abused and some of them still abuse their children and are otherwise messing them up in all kinds of ways.
Feel free to also tell me why you still like them in the first place. What have they done to earn your respect? Do you actually think their good parents or people? Or is just a thing of "Oh, this parent is the least abusive. I'll take that!"?

Sweatpants Dick
Pairing: Malex, Alex Manes/Michael Guerin, Isobel Evans/Maria DeLuca (implied)
Additional Tags: Isobel and Alex are besties, Buffy Manes is a very good girl
Words: 3.2K | Rating: T | On AO3
"Please, for the love of everyone, woo him with your dick and get back together?”
Or the one where Isobel makes Alex buy a pair of gray sweatpants to woo Michael with his dick.
For
@cosmiceverafter, @i-never-look-away and @saadiestuff ♥♥♥
Cosmopolitan Magazine once suggested
Tell your guy to buy light-colored sweatpants. The silhouette of his boner through thick gray cotton is nothing short of art. You deserve this.
This spoke to me as a prompt and I had to write it. There's a lot of talk about dicks/boners/cocks in here, but nothing too explicit actually happens. Uhm... sorry?
~*~
“Black or blue?”
Alex held up two pairs of sweatpants, one black, one a dark blue.
“If you have to buy one of these atrocious looking pants, buy at least a gray one.”
Alex raised one eyebrow in question.
“They may be atrocious looking, but they’re comfy. I only wear them at home anyway. Why gray though?”
Isobel sighed in faux exasperation.
“Did you never read Cosmo, Cap?”
Alex’s eyebrow climbed a little higher on his forehead.
“I'm friends with Maria and Liz, of course I read Cosmo. When we were teenagers.”
“Well, seems like you learned nothing, honey.”
She changed her posture to a somewhat dramatic pose.
“The silhouette of his boner through thick gray cotton is nothing short of art,” she declaimed.
Alex’s eyes were in severe danger of bugging out of his head. He blinked.
“Say what now?”
“Come on, Alex. Have you never seen a man sporting a boner in gray sweatpants? If so, I’m feeling very sorry for you.”
“Uhm.”
Alex struggled not to blush, but damn, Isobel talking so bluntly about boners was giving him a hard time (not literally, thank god).
“You can’t tell me you were in the Air Force for over a decade and you never saw anyone with a semi or full hard-on in sweatpants?”
“Believe it or not, Isobel, people tend to be very private with their boners around the gay guy. Wouldn’t want to tempt him.”
Isobel looked offended.
“Ugh, these people would’ve been so lucky for you to pay attention to their inferior dicks in the first place.”
She grabbed a pair of gray sweatpants from the table, checked the label and looked over her shoulder at Alex.
“Come on, Cap, this is your size, and I’m ready to commit murder for a coffee. Go get the other bags and meet me at the exit.”
With that Isobel left Alex standing in the middle of the shop and went to pay for the gray sweatpants. Alex sighed. He quickly re-folded the black and blue pants he was still holding and put them neatly back where he’d found them. Then he picked up the bags from their earlier shopping spree and followed Isobel.
When they sat at their usual table at the Crashdown half an hour later, Alex had had enough time to get his composure back.
“So, Evans, what do you know about boners in gray sweatpants?”
Alex smirked when Isobel almost choked on the sip of coffee in her mouth. Alex handed her a napkin. She grabbed it and dabbed at a spill of coffee on her chin.
“I grew up with a brother.”
Alex’s face twisted in disgust.
“Ew, Isobel, please don’t ever give me the mental image of your brother with a boner.”
Now it was Isobel’s turn to smirk.
“Well, I know for a fact that you’re only opposed to the mental image of one of my brothers’ boner.”
Alex hung his head and was ready to just die on the spot.
“I can’t believe that we’re having this conversation at three in the afternoon.”
“What, do you only talk about dicks at night?”
“If you don’t mind, I would prefer not to talk about dicks with you at any time of the day.”
Isobel reached across the table and pinched Alex’s cheek.
“Don’t be a prude, honey. You’re just worried I’m going to mention my brother’s boner again.”
Alex scrunched his face in disgust.
“Could you please stop mentioning Max, and especially his dick?”
Isobel’s smile turned almost diabolical.
“Who says I was talking about Max this time? If it makes you feel more comfortable, we can talk about Michael’s dick.”
“What do I have to do to make you stop talking about dicks in general, and your brothers’ dicks in particular?”
“Wear those gray sweatpants the next time Michael comes over to fix something at the cabin and show off your goods.”
“My dick is also off limits as a talking point.”
Isobel schooled her expression and looked at Alex earnestly.
“Alex, I’ll stop talking about dicks, but please, consider this at least? I know you two have been dancing around each other for a while now, building a friendship and all that. But the pining’s reaching unbearable levels. On both sides. Please, for the love of everyone, woo him with your dick and get back together?”
Alex took a deep, steadying breath.
“I love him, and he loves me. I know that. He knows that. We’re just both afraid we’ll fuck it up again. That’s why we’re so hesitant.”
Isobel took Alex’s hand in hers.
“I know. But you two? You are ready. Have been ready for a while. Woo him with your dick, or just talk to him. You’re not teenagers anymore, neither are you the very broken men you were a year ago. You’ve worked so hard on both yourselves individually, and on your friendship. You won’t fuck it up, I promise.”
Alex nodded slowly.
“I guess you’re right. I don’t really feel like wooing him with my dick, but I’ll try to be brave and talk to him next time we see each other.”
“That’s my boy! I’m so proud of you. You’ll make each other so happy.”
Isobel pulled Alex’s hand up to her lips and pressed a soft kiss to the back of it.
“Go get him, tiger!”
Alex laughed.
“Alright, alright. I’ll go and on my drive home I’ll think of a reason to ask him to come over tonight.”
He gave her a stern look.
“And no, I won’t be wearing those sweatpants.”
Isobel pouted.
“You’re no fun, Manes.”
“If you’re so fond of gray sweatpants, why have I never seen you wearing them around Maria?”
Isobel gave him a wink.
“I know you’re gay and probably not familiar with the female physique, but did you skip sex ed? I’m missing a prominent detail in my nether regions to show off in said pants. I’ve invested in some sheer blouses and nice underwear instead. Which seems to do the trick. I’ve seen her check out my cleavage more than once whenever I spent time at the Pony.”
Alex smiled at her warmly.
“Maybe you should also make a move then?”
Isobel gave his hand another squeeze.
“You know what, that’s probably a good idea. Let’s both go home, dress nicely and get what we want.”
They grabbed their bags, put enough cash to cover their coffees and a generous tip on the table, waved goodbye to Arturo and left the Crashdown. When they reached Alex’s car, Isobel pulled him into a one-armed hug.
“Good luck, Cap. Text me later.”
Alex inhaled her perfume and let the flowery smell comfort him. He pressed a soft kiss to her cheek.
“Good luck to you, too, Iz. I have a feeling you might get lucky tonight.”
He opened the door of his car and placed the shopping bags on the passenger seat before he climbed in, waved at Isobel one final time, and drove off.
The closer he got to his cabin, the more nervous he felt. He knew that Isobel was right. They were ready. As ready as two people could be after everything they’d been through. The thought of having that talk with Michael was still terrifying and made his palms feel sweaty.
Buffy greeted him with an excited ‘woof’ when he opened the door to the cabin. She dropped to the floor and showed off her belly the second the door fell shut behind him, a not so subtle prompt for him to give her belly rubs. He dropped the bags where he stood and kneeled carefully to play and snuggle with his good girl for a while.
When his knees started hurting, she got up and gave him a soft head butt, as if to tell him to take care of himself. Then she waddled off to plop down on her dog bed for a nap. Alex pulled a nearby chair close enough to support himself standing up. He turned around in search of the shopping bags. They were still near the door. One had toppled over, and the pair of gray sweatpants had fallen out.
“I can’t believe Isobel Evans talked me into buying gray sweatpants to show off my dick,” he murmured to himself. What exactly was so special about a hard dick in those? He grabbed the pants and the bags and slowly walked over to his bedroom. He checked on Buffy once more. She’d grabbed her favorite plush toy (a little green alien Michael had given to her; she’d covered him in wet dog kisses in her excitement about the gift) and had fallen asleep curled around it. He smiled, then turned back around and closed the door behind him.
He went over to his bed and took everything he’d bought out of the bags. He laid the items out on the comforter to assess where everything should go in his closet – most prominently the pair of gray sweatpants. On a whim, he took off his boots, wriggled out of his jeans and rolled down his socks and flicked them in the direction of the hamper. Then he reached for the sweatpants and stepped into them. He bent down, adjusted the hem around his prosthetic leg, and slowly pulled them up. They felt nice and were very comfy but there was absolutely nothing special about them. Apart from the color, they were like any other pair of sweatpants he’d ever owned.
He stepped in front of the large mirror near the window and looked at himself. His hair was tousled, the dark red Henley clung to his torso and showed off his lean waist, toned arms and broad shoulders nicely. As a kid, he’d been small and gangly. Even as a teenager who went skateboarding every day, he’d never been overly broad or muscular.
A decade in the Air Force had given him the body of a man, though. A soldier, ready and able to attack and stand his ground in combat. Even after losing his leg, he'd worked hard to keep in shape. He was rigorous about his PT exercises to ensure he was as agile and strong as his prosthetic would allow him.
He looked down at himself in the mirror. At his bare feet. One human, one artificial. The sight no longer made him flinch, and he was grateful. There had been times when he couldn’t stand looking at his feet, a constant reminder of war and his loss.
Finally, he looked at the part of his body his newest piece of clothing was supposed to make look outstanding. Alex frowned. His dick wasn’t exactly on the small side, but there was no outline visible. He sighed.
“She said ‘silhouette of a boner’, didn’t she?”
He grabbed his junk through the thick fabric and gave it a tug. His dick did not react. Of course not, it had no reason to react to a random tug. Alex considered his options for a second. He didn’t look himself in the eyes through the mirror, instead his eyes followed his hands as they slowly pulled down the waistband of the pants, followed by the waistband of his black boxer briefs.
He pulled his dick out, adjusted his balls, and started stroking. It felt weirdly intimate to look at himself masturbating in the mirror. His dick slowly started hardening under his experienced strokes. He wasn’t actually horny, but soon enough his dick had filled out completely and was hard enough to try and see whether Cosmo had been right.
He adjusted his dick in his boxer briefs before he pulled up the sweatpants.
Mhm, not much to see through the folds of the fabric, but what if he bent his cock slightly to the left so it would rest against the curve of his hipbone? He did just that and when he looked in the mirror again, the outline of his hard dick was clearly visible.
“Niiiice,” he said to himself and smirked.
Before he got a chance to consider whether to follow through with what he’d started, he heard a noise coming from the porch. Then Buffy let out a small bark in the living room, and Alex forgot about his boner instantly.
He opened the door of his bedroom and walked to the front door in long strides. He wrenched the door open, Buffy at his heels, when he saw a familiar face under the brim of a black cowboy hat looking at him with wide eyes.
“Shit, Alex, you startled me.”
Alex let out a loud sigh of relief.
“Michael, I didn’t expect you. Neither did I hear your truck. What are you doing here?”
“Isobel called and told me you mentioned a broken porch light when you were at the Crashdown with her. I finished early and thought I’d come over to fix it.”
Michael’s eyes slowly wandered down Alex’s figure to take in the sight of the man he loved. He liked the maroon Henley Alex was wearing a lot. He’d never seen Alex wear those sweatpants before. They were gray and hung low on his hips and... Michael blinked. He looked again, then blushed furiously.
Unless Alex hid some kind of tool (or toy, Michael’s brain provided, completely unhelpful) or a banana in his pants, the outline of Alex’s hard cock was clearly visible underneath the soft looking fabric. Michael gulped.
“Uhm. Sorry, I... I'll just change the light bulb and be out of your hair in a second.”
Alex frowned. Why was Michael acting so weird, and why would he want to leave so fast?
“Thanks, but don’t you want to come in before you leave? There’s beer in the fridge, and I’m sure Buffy would love a thorough belly rub from you.”
Alex tried to think of other incentives to make Michael stay.
“Oh yeah, Buffy. Uhm, I could take her for a walk or something? Give you some privacy?”
Michael’s face was beet red, and he tried desperately not to look at the silhouette of Alex’s dick.
“Privacy? What for?”
Alex didn’t understand.
Michael blushed harder, if that was even possible. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before he nodded in the general direction of Alex’s dick.
“To take care of that? Looks like you were in the middle of something when I disturbed you. Poor timing on my end, I’m sorry.”
Alex made a noncommittal noise, then it was his turn to blush.
“Oh my god, no. I mean, it looks like I was in the middle of something, but I only wanted to see if Cosmo was right.”
Michael looked confused.
“Cosmo? Never heard of him. Some new guy you met at the conference last week?”
Michael tried his best to keep any kind of jealousy and judgement out of his voice, but it was hard. Shit, they’d been so close to getting back together recently, and now there was a new guy on the horizon? When Alex let out a breathless laugh, Michael looked up.
“Cosmo as in Cosmopolitan, Michael. The magazine?”
Michael’s face turned into a giant question mark.
Alex sighed.
“This is all your sister’s fault. She bought these sweatpants for me to woo you with my dick.”
“Isobel did what to make you what?”
Alex dropped his head to hide his blushing cheeks. When he heard Michael step closer, he froze. Michael was really close suddenly, and Alex’s heart felt like it was about to beat out of his chest any second.
“You know how much I love your dick. I just don’t quite understand what these pants have to do with any of it?”
Alex looked up.
“The silhouette of his boner through thick gray cotton is nothing short of art,” he repeated what Isobel had told him earlier this afternoon. Then he smirked and looked at Michael, a challenge in his eyes.
“Well, whoever said that, clearly knows what they’re talking about. Not that your dick isn’t always a work of art, but I must admit, it looks particularly mouth-watering through thick gray cotton.”
Alex’s grin almost split his face. Then he flung himself across the short distance between them, right into Michael’s arms. Michael caught him with ease and wrapped him in a tight hug. Michael’s soft curls tickled Alex’s nose when he whispered into his ear.
“I take it the sweatpants wooing worked?”
“Darlin’, you’ve been wooing me with your everything since we were seventeen, and your dick in these pants is a glorious boner... I mean bonus. Any chance I could take a closer look?”
Alex leaned back in Michael’s embrace until he could look him in the eyes.
“I’d love that. You know that this is it, though, right? It’s only going be my dick from here on out.”
Michael looked at Alex earnestly.
“Alex, that’s all I ever wanted. I want you. I want us. I want your dick. Exclusively. Forever.”
Michael took a deep breath, and there were tears glistening in the corner of his eyes.
“I love you, Alex.”
Alex didn’t hesitate and closed the gap between their mouths to kiss Michael long and thorough. He put everything into the kiss. The longing, the hunger, the love for the man in front of him. When he was finished having his fill (for the moment at least), he leant back again to look at Michael. He made sure his hard dick pressed into Michael’s crotch, where it bumped into Michael’s growing hard-on. Alex let out a happy laugh.
“I want that, too, Michael. You. Us. My dick being yours, your dick being mine. I love you so much and I’ll never let you go.”
He undulated his hips suggestively, rubbing his hard dick against Michaels.
“Let’s take this inside, cowboy, I wanna show off my dick in these pants some more.”
He took Michaels hand and led him inside the cabin. Buffy had returned to her dog bed while they'd been talking, and when they entered the living room, she opened one eye and blinked at them as if to check whether they were okay. She seemed to be satisfied with what she saw, pulled her little alien plushie close, and went back to sleep.
--
Later that night, Isobel’s phone buzzed on the nightstand to her left. She dropped a kiss to the top of Maria’s head where it was lying on her chest and carefully picked up the phone, eager not to wake her sleeping lover. When she opened Alex’s message, she just about managed to suppress a delighted squeal.
He’d sent her a photo. A pair of gray sweatpants dropped in a heap on the wooden floor of his bedroom, a familiar black cowboy hat sitting on top of it. His message read. “My thanks to Cosmo (and you!) Coffee at the Crashdown tomorrow at 3pm. My treat.”
Isobel smiled, then she took a photo of her and Maria’s hand, lovingly entwined. She sent it to Alex, adding “It’s a (coffee) date, Cap! <3 We have a lot to celebrate.”

Yandere Shigaraki Pt.2
Wow I got a lot of requests and input in for the first part! Might make a mini series if I get enough requests. Decided to leave the end with a bit of a cliffhanger. Next chapter might be nsfw hehe ♡ (link to first part)

Yandere type: posessive, controlling, delusional
The next few weeks that passed were absolute bliss to Tomura. Despite the anger of failed missions, the frustration of his bickering underlings and the painful bruises from his encounters with heros, he was still on cloud nine. All because he knew that waiting back at home was his beloved y/n . No matter the struggles he faced, Tomura had peace of mind knowing that the second he saw you, all his worries would melt away.
It was heavenly finally having you at his side where you belonged. Now he was able to love and cherish you like he had fantasized about for months. And although you promised that you wouldn't try to escape, Tomura still kept you locked inside his room while he was away. He wasn't ready to give you unsupervised reign of the house just yet. There wasn't much you could do, given that you were quirkless, but it was just to be safe. Maybe someday he would allow you to walk around the house freely. At least he didn't have to feel guilty about keeping you in the cage anymore.
Ever since he brought you home, you had been so well behaved. Not once had you tried to reject his love, never cringing away from his touch or kisses. You deserved a reward for being so good. What started as a simple grocery run ended with a spree of him buying gifts and clothing for his precious sweetheart. But he didn't regret it. Why would he feel guilty about his spending when he's only commemorating his darling's behaviour? Although... It did mean he had to go out in public without his father to shield his face. Despite the anxiety being exposed like that caused him, the thought of seeing your smile made it easy to endure. Tomura pulled out the keys to his room with bags in hand and unlocked the door to his bedroom, your prison.
He set down the grocery bags before gently removing father from his sweater pocket and placed him on the dresser. He wandered back to his bed where you were curled up fast asleep. He stood over your sleeping form, just watching. Such a precious sight. He simply had to take a moment to soak in how perfect you looked being surrounded by his posessions.
"Y/n... I'm home," he cooed quietly, reveling in how natural it felt to have those words leave his lips. He gently pushed the hair from your face for a better view. Your eyes fluttered open and you began to stirr. The sight of your adorable body, wearing his t shirt and shorts as pajamas, so exposed and vulnerable... How tantalizing. Tomura pressed a kiss to the side of your head before sitting down on the edge of the bed.
"I brought you some presents. Some snacks I watched you eat before. You must really like them, you used to but them a lot. Oh and-... and some cute new clothes. As much as I love seeing you wearing mine, it'll be nice to have something.... just for you. Be sure to try them on later so I know they fit, okay?"
A lie. Tomura knew you would fit everything perfectly. He had your measurements memorized by heart. You sat up and yawn, nodding your head at his request. Without even being asked, you crawl into his lap. This was the routine now. He would come home and you would cuddle. Sometimes even make-out. It started as him commanding it but now, having you do it of your own accord. It felt natural. Like you truly wanted to do it of your own volition. Your legs straddled his sides and his hands moved to loosely hold your waist.
"Tell me you love me," he commanded, relaxing as he leaned forward to rest his face in the crook of your neck
"I love you Tomura," you replied robotically.
"Mmm good girl," he praised, "Now hold me... And tell me how much you love staying by my side," he continued, whispering against your skin. Your arms snake around his shoulders automatically, cradling his head.
"Thank you for taking care of me. I never want to leave," you responded on queue. There was a clear emptiness in your voice. A blatant disconnection from the words to the feelings you spoke of. That coupled with that blank look you gave him made it obvious. Though those eyes held no fear... they held no love either. But it was alright. One day you would adjust to living this way. You'd learn to love him as passionately as he loved you. Tomura's hand reached up to trail his knuckles over your cheek. For now you were just going with the flow of things. That face of yours that was always smiling before was now bare of emotion. Nonchalant and blank. He wanted to change that. See a new kind of expression. A sly smirk began to spread across his face as an idea sparked into his mind.
"Hey... what would you consider our relationship to be?"
Kidnapper and Hostage? Psychopath and civilian? Murderer and their next victim? Take your pick, you thought.
"I don't... I don't know what you want me to say," you admitted.
Tomura's lips curled sinisterly, making you feel you more uncomfortable to being this close to him. He had moments where his delusions were stronger than others. You prayed this wasn't one of them. Despite how sane he acted sometimes, you knew Shigaraki Tomura was anything but. A chill ran down your back as one of his hands now began to slide up underneath your shirt, slowly trailing up and down your spine.
"Would you say that we're growing close y/n? Like friends?" he asked sweetly.
"I suppose," you forced yourself to say.
Tomura's grin grew wider.
"Would you say that we're more than friends? Lovers even?" he continued, emphasizing the word lovers painfully so.
You tried to swallow the lump in your throat that was beginning to form but no words were coming out. The way his ruby eyes were transfixed up at you with such laser focus. It was the look of a predator eyeing up its prey. You always did as he asked for survival but the way he was looking at you now. You really didn't like it. A finger tapped your back, drawing your attention back.
"Weeeell?" He asked, waiting for your response.
"I-... I guess so?"
He giggled.
"Heheh... I'm glad you think so too, Y/n! Tell me... what do lovers do that friends don't? What makes a lover so special?" He quizzled, his opposite hand slinking lower to caress your backside. You stiffen up against him. Oh god please no.
"T-they kiss?" you stammered out.
"Aaaaand?" he drawled, nuzzling his face against your neck.
"Th-they get married?" you squeak nervously, lightly leaning away from him slightly. Tomura sits back and looks up at you, his smile turning sickeningly sweet.
"Oh y/n .. is that your way of telling me that you want us to get married?"
"Uh.. I'm not-" you begin, starting to panic. Tomura's arms quickly snaked around youe waist and pulled you flush against his chest. He pressed his head against your breasts and let out a maniacal giggle.
"Ah, don't worry my love! I know you're too embarrassed to talk about that stuff yet! Why... I can hear your heart just pounding," he wheezed dreamily, pressing his ear to your skin. Slowly, he tilted his head up, eyes locking onto yours through the strands of hair. His sickening grin resurfaced, spreading wide across his features and making him look all the more disturbed.
"What else do lovers do Y/n?"
You began to tremble, for the first time you were becoming genuinely scared of him. And he was loving it.
"Th-they... Have k-ki-kids?"
He inhaled sharply and let joyful screech before quickly grabbing you from around your midsection and flipping you backwards onto the bed. You plopped down and before you could even try to struggle, Tomura quickly got on top, pinning you down by sitting on your hips. His hands pushed your wrists back and held them above your head but you didn't dare move them. Not when you knew the terrifying power those very hands possessed.
"That's right y/n! They have kids. Such a beautiful thing, to start a family of your own! I've dreamed of having one for years and years. You see, I never really had a family. I didn't think I'd ever get the chance. Never imagined that I'd meet a girl who could see past my flaws and fall in love with me. But you... You're perfect y/n. Perfect for me! We're meant to be together! You're the only one who could love me. You were the only one to show me such selfless kindness. Like an angel, sent to atone for all the cruelty I've had to endure! Since we met, I can't stop think about you and the life we could have together. We could get married and have a family of our own! Wouldn't that be magical? And you know what lovers do in order to have children right?! YOU KNOW RIGHT?!" he heaved above you, eyes straining down so intensely it was impossible to look away.
Aside from the involuntary trembling, you couldn't bring yourself to move. You wanted to scream and push him off. To run and hide from those terrifying eyes that were filled to the brim with his delusional sense of love. You had been complacent and done everything he told you to do. Was he gonna rape you? Was he finally going to kill you despite his vows to never to harm you? Suddenly, his heavy breathing stopped. As if a switch had been flicked off. Tomura's expression relaxed, returning to normal. But the glint in his eyes still didn't lessen your fear.
"You know... they say that when you make love to the person you hold most precious, it feels like you're becoming one with them. Doesn't that sound wonderful y/n? Being so intimately close with the one you love most? I've never experienced such a connection. I've always wanted to of course. But I didn't want to bother unless it was with my one true love..."
Tomura leaned down, tongue flickering out to lap up the tears you didn't know you had been shedding. His tongue licked your lips before he sat back up. He ground his hips down, making you feel the buldge starting to grow.
"Hey y/n... Let's make love."

What did you expect to happen?
I’m seeing a lot of people denying what they saw in that Darth Vader - Dark Visions comic. Saying how “misogynistic” and “problematic” it is. Then they lay down all of these reasons why Darth Vader wouldn’t do this or that and why that woman deserved all the respect of the world. Sure, I felt bad for the woman at the end, but honestly... why are you complaining? What are you guys seeing that I don’t in this comic? So to start, I’m going to lay down my own take on it.
So imagine you’re Darth Vader. You used to be this heroic figure in the times of the Republic, who once loved a woman who pretty much meant everything to you, and were expecting a child. You kept this from the order you serve, because she genuinely makes you happy. You wouldn’t trade her for anything, and you have been beset by violent bouts of jealousy when you thought she would consider someone else from you.
Of course, all of that changed when the emperor promised you that the dark side of the Force was capable of saving her life.
After becoming what you are now, you burnt every single God damn bridge you ever had. You know that your previous name no longer means anything to you. Anakin Skywalker is dead. You have committed countless atrocities throughout the galaxy, and after your inception as a Dark Lord, you quite literally killed a school of children when they begged for you to help them. All because you wanted to save the woman that meant everything to you. You destroyed the Jedi, destroyed the democracy that ruled the galaxy and installed a ruthless and evil monarch to rule it, all because of her.
And then you killed her. Padme Amidala, the woman that meant EVERYTHING to Anakin Skywalker, died because you thought she had betrayed you. In your eyes, you are a monster. Someone that deserves no redemption nor salvation. All you can do, is keep the peace you fought and sacrificed EVERYTHING for. That is what drives you.
And so, you murder, stamp, and scheme for the Emperor. You use fear because to you, it’s the most effective method of pacification there is. Anything that hampers or inconveniences you is dead by your hand, because they don’t mean anything to you. To you, nobody else except the emperor and a few chosen others have any importance to you. Killed some stormtrooper? One of the trillions that inhabit the galaxy will be drafted to replace him. An officer? Hundreds of millions. A pilot? Millions An admiral? Hundreds.
So why should this woman be any different? You have been healed after suffering wounds from an operation in this or that planet, and you retreat to your quarters. From everything that tears through you in both the Force and your emotions, you go to the place that will give you peace. A safe haven, a sanctuary, your respite from everything...
And then this literal who barges in and opens your pod. She’s that nurse that assists your doctor, but you don’t know her. She goes on an immediate spree of compliments about your looks, something that irks you because you damn well know that you look hideous. And then she starts blabbing about how much she loves you and how she wants to be your dark queen and you her dark daddy or somethings like that.
So she wants to depose the position that Padme held in your life. The woman that you tried to sacrifice everything for. You were just about to become a father too, until you killed them both. And this woman, whom you know absolutely nothing about, WANTS to replace her? This girl, that absolutely reeks of trash and feces, that BROKE into your sanctuary, and has seen your ugly-ass face and thought only to compliment you with this crazy look in her eyes, thought she could get intimate with you?
Honestly, the entire affair would seem like an insult to you. You have killed people for LESS, and so it comes as no surprise that you lift your light saber and give her what she wanted: a death wish.
What happened in that comic was completely on character with Darth Vader. He does not show emotion that is not hatred or disgust. He trusts no one, not even the Emperor, even if he has to bow to him. The only thing that pierce the darkness within him and reach out to the light that lies obscured would be someone that matters to him, and that happened with Luke Skywalker, his and Padme’s son.
Christ, not even Aphra was safe from his wrath. He blew her out the God damned airlock first chance he got! This reminds me of people that ship these murderers and psychopaths and the girls that send love letters to those teenagers that shoot up their schools. I swear it’s in the EXACT SAME VEIN as that.
If you’re still unconvinced, then I will do this. Think of the woman as a man, and think of Darth Vader as some random girl. Then go through everything the nurse does and apply it to that scenario. If that doesn’t help, then I don’t know what will.
Thanks for wasting your time reading this.

The Handmaid's Tale - ‘Unfit’ Review
Tumblr media
"I've never seen anyone so devoted."
Like the Canadian story line, the flashbacks in this show are often a welcome relief from the horrors of present day Gilead. This time, not so much.
Let me start by saying that Ann Dowd is absolutely awesome as the fearsome Aunt Lydia, and a flashback to her past should have done more to explain her character. Instead, even in her past, Lydia was taking children from their mothers while pontificating about her good intentions. She is just as conflicted and confusing as she always was. Maybe there's just no explaining people like Lydia. Or anyone who fits in Gilead.
Lydia Clements was a fourth grade teacher who used to work in family law. She went from judging Noelle, a poor young mother with a bad job, to helping her financially and giving her emotional support (which was lovely), to initiating legal proceedings that successfully took Noelle's son Ryan away from her. A remarkably bad thing that followed a remarkably good thing, and note how Lydia's clothing and hair style changed from loose, comfortable and attractive to a Gilead-like shapeless outfit and restrained bun.
This was tied in to Lydia's possible new boyfriend, Principal Jim. Lydia and Jim seemed so well matched: both were single again with careers in education, and clearly religious since they both quoted the Bible in casual conversation. Jim even said grace in the karaoke bar before they ate. (Karaoke "Islands in the Stream." Too cute, and adorably out of character for Lydia.)
Why would their aborted lovemaking on the couch push Lydia over the edge into such overwhelming shame, into violently destroying her own image in a mirror? Was it because she finally allowed herself to acknowledge her own sexual needs, and being rejected was too heavy a blow? For that matter, why did Jim stop? His wife died three years ago. Was it really too soon for him, or did her aggressive move on the couch turn him off? And why did this incident make Lydia turn on Noelle? Because Noelle had encouraged her to date again, had given her makeup?
Tying this into our lead character, we've all been wondering how June is still alive considering how badly she's been acting. I think June is too angry right now to be frightened of what could happen to her. Maybe Aunt Lydia sees June the way she saw Noelle, as someone she would try over and over again to push in the right direction – until she didn't. This doesn't bode well for June.
I enjoyed the three gossipy aunts around a table matching Handmaids to Commanders more than the flashbacks. This was background that we needed. Aunt Lydia complained about June's misbehavior, but then she talked about June being misled. "We never had issues with Ofjoseph before the Waterfords. A problem household, to say the least. And she was there for all that business with Emily." Aunt Elizabeth added, "And Lillie." It's an explanation for why June is still alive and undamaged. Not a great one, but an explanation.
During the almost comical testifying scene in the gym, June did acknowledge that Frances' death was June's fault, and that Hannah would suffer for what June did. And then June took that opportunity to turn on Ofmatthew, saying truthfully that Ofmatthew didn't want her baby. We learned that Ofmatthew thought her baby was going to be a girl this time, and she didn't want to bring a daughter into Gilead. I so can't blame her.
Tumblr media
During their shopping trip to Loaves and Fishes, June smiled as Ofmatthew snatched the guardian's gun and went on her desperation spree, and then she nodded when Ofmatthew was aiming the gun at her. I think June was ready to die. When Ofmatthew changed her target to Aunt Lydia, I was yelling, "Kill her!" Sadly, no. The death of Ofmatthew and her possibly female fetus, along with the death of Ofandy's baby girl, felt like a metaphor for the murderous sickness of Gilead's culture.
Racism in Gilead
This is the second episode in a row that featured the horrible death of a black woman. It's also the first time race was so much as mentioned. During that fascinating scene with the Aunts and the sherry and the files on the lazy susan, Aunt Lydia said that one of the Commanders didn't want a Handmaid of color. Racial prejudice exists in Gilead, but it is kept on the down low. Under the table, pun intended.
Critics of this show talk a lot about intersectionality, how jarring it is that Gilead is all about the misogyny while racial issues don't seem to exist, and really, I totally get that. It's a major change from Atwood's book. In reality, a fascist, misogynistic society like Gilead would almost certainly be deeply racist as well. I initially thought I understood why the producers made this decision. They wanted the focus of this fictional dystopia to be the oppression of women, period. There is also the practical consideration that if they had adhered more faithfully to the source material, the entire cast of this series would be white.
While I was thinking about what I would write about this episode, I realized that I hadn't thought through that assumption. They could have kept Gilead logically racist by having Handmaids of color while all of the Commanders and Wives were white. White slave owners in the past often raped and impregnated their black slaves, didn't they? And of course, June could have still had a black husband and daughter. I wonder why they didn't go that way? It would have made a lot more sense.
More glowing comments about the photography
As usual, the photography in this episode was spectacular. I was particularly struck by the from-above shot of Handmaids circling Ofandy with comfort and hugs, June in the snow with a red umbrella on her way to Loaves and Fishes, and the camera attached and moving with Ofmatthew's gun. The most striking was the line of red blood on white tile as Ofmatthew's body was dragged out of the store; it reminded me of the red ropes they use for hanging.
Tumblr media
And the flashbacks were so pretty that they often looked unreal – the diffused lights on the Christmas tree, the sparkling clothing and hangings at the nightclub, the New Year's Eve glitter. I'm sure that was on purpose. The unreality, I mean.
Do they celebrate Christmas in Gilead? Has it been mentioned? It seems unlikely. But I didn't think they would have dancing, either.
Bits:
— The name of Hannah's Martha wasn't mentioned in the previous episode, but here, the very first scene started with June talking about Frances, and what an ordinary life she led before Gilead. Much like Lydia.
— Janine was kindness itself toward Ofmatthew, and when Ofmatthew lost it in Loaves and Fishes, she beat the crap out of Janine. It would have made more sense if Ofmatthew had attacked June, instead.
— During the birth scenes and the testifying, the Handmaids were acting a little like a bitchy high school clique. "Crybaby! Crybaby! Crybaby! Crybaby!" actually made me laugh.
— June told Joseph Lawrence that he wasn't protecting Eleanor, he was suffocating her. Lawrence didn't take the bait. I'm starting to think the Lawrences are in danger. Gilead turns on its own on a regular basis. No one is safe.
— The Lydia/Ryan twenty questions scene that opened the flashback began with Ryan asking, "Am I alive?" I wonder. Is he?
— Gold acting stars for Ashleigh LaThrop, who played Ofmatthew. I wish we'd known her character's real name. Maybe we'll find out what it was at the beginning of the next episode.
Quotes:
Aunt Lydia: "Tell your friends to cool it." June: "I'm sorry, Aunt Lydia. I don't know what you're talking about. You want to take my tongue out? Burn my arm? Better hope they don't need me on TV again for Nichole."
June: "How did that rhyme go? The one we'd jump rope to? Tinker, tailor, soldier, sailor, rich man, poor man, beggar man, thief. A game to tell what our children would grow up to be. The list is a lot shorter now, especially if it's a girl. Martha, Jezebel, Handmaid, Wife." What about "Aunt"?
Noelle: "You're a fucking coldhearted bitch!" Lydia: "I forgive you."
Aunt Lydia: "Sometimes it's the apple, and sometimes it's the barrel." Aunt Lydia has decided it's the barrel this time. She wants to transfer June to another household. Uh oh.
June: "I hurt her. and I enjoyed it. The wives and aunts, too, grieving over Ofandy's dead child. And Lawrence. They all deserve to suffer. It's an acquired taste, seeing others in pain. Like that smoky scotch Luke got as a gift once. I grew to like that."
June: "I finally know how Oflgen felt, what made her put on that bomb vest. […] And I know how Emily felt, right before she stuck a knife in Lydia's back." Again, it sure sounds like June is ready to die.
This is the second episode in a row that I didn't much like. Two out of four smoky scotches.

Billie Doux loves good television and spends way too much time writing about it.

Because I mentioned I was going to eventually get rid of my old shower curtain, my mom surprised me and got me an Edward Gorey one. Gashlycrumb Tinies!
One of the recent ghost books on ghost I read mostly just (intentionally or not) taught me how to fake spooky sh*t at seances but in the entry on mirrors it mentioned looking into one at night was considered bad luck. But that’s kind of hard to avoid. I already knew using candlelight to look into a mirror is considered to be unlucky but I think a cellphone’s flashlight doesn’t count. Anyway, going to the bathroom at night is going to be spookier. :D
Life’s been kind of hectic lately, mostly due to things outside of my control. I want to get a new job this summer. And fix my sleeping schedule. I’ve been getting stress dreams again for the first time in a while. I don’t count a bad dream as a nightmare unless I wake up terrified but it still sucks. Going to ask my doctor if melatonin is a good idea.
My dog (see above) had a nasty cough after getting knocked out for some dental surgery, which is supposed to be normal, but it lasted for a while so we took her to the vet. And it turns out that the reason she was scratching on my door every night to be let outside was because of a UTI. She’s doing better now.
Mm, there’s a lot more things to talk about but I’ll save that for another post.
The Dark Knight: There was a scene where a bunch of men got their uniforms stolen and they were tied up and g*gged. I watched the trilogy out of order. To be honest, I get kind of bored watching these but the villains are cool. Bane’s darling but now that I’ve seen Venom I prefer Eddie Brock. Jonathan Crane is kind of cute, too.
Now I finally get why people like the Joker so much. He gives not a single f*ck. So many things could go wrong at any moment during his plans, he relies so much on luck, but he has so much confidence. I feel like if tried to slide down a hill of money I would hurt myself. The best scene was the Joker walking quickly out and away from the hospital. Also, the bank heist in the beginning.
Crimson Peak started to get good when Edith and Lucille were having the butterfly discussion and ended up being better paced than I thought it would be. But after Carter got his head smashed in, I’m not sure why Edith would go with Thomas after that.
Gothic horror is actually fun to learn about in school because the genre’s progenitors would probably be into yandere and monster f*cking. It’s like... In the first art history class I took, we were looking at Renaissance paintings and there was a fair amount of stuff with a de*th and the maiden motif. The modern equivalent would be a lot of metal album covers.
Brain Damage: I was looking for infestation movies and I’m so glad I stumbled upon this. Not because it’s particularly good but ‘cause the MC is super cute. Basically the talking leechy thing pumps Brian full of an addictive fluid through the the back of his neck and they have a faux symbiotic relationship where Aylmer gorily eats other people’s brains.
There was a scene where Brian’s brother answers the phone lying on his stomach in his und*rwear. Followed by a scene where Brian takes his pants off and you see his t*sh. Also a very brief M/F/M thr*some dream that gets gruesome real quick.
The Stuff: If you’re into The Blob, you’ll probably like this. The mode of killing is a bit different. Stuff’s alive and controls people from the inside.
A Cure for Wellness: Shout out to his movie for showing n*ked/scantily clad old people without getting weird about it. Within the first half hour I was surprised when it didn’t do well at the box office. The visuals draw you in but it was probably too long and could have been better. I wasn’t expecting to it get kind of fantastical. It’s got existentialism, surrealism, mystery... Uhhhh... I’m not sure whether to classify it as fantasy or sci fi.
Venom: Hits so many k*nks. Dan’s cute, Anne has good taste in men. Carlton Drake gets symbioted. Actually, I’m not sure if he or Eddie is sexier. The first guy to get possessed in the Eminem video is also cute. Best line is Venom saying, “Look at her. She has no idea we are going to get her back.” The Rorschach-like ending credits were cool.
Sleepaway Camp: Before I watched this, I already knew the ending. Sort of. To be honest, I expected “Angela” to be an offensive portrayal of a trans woman but the situation was more like David Reimer, minus g*nital m*tilation. The ending itself... Aunt Martha may not have gone on a murder spree but she’s the scariest person in the film. Otherwise I wouldn’t have said there’s anything terribly special about this film. Based on the synopsis of the sequel, I’m probably not going to watch the rest of the franchise.
Hell Fest: Pretty typical modern slasher but the atmosphere is great. It was also funny. I’m just gonna use bullet points for this.
“You know what? He deserves at least some dignity after death.” “Let’s give him a b*ner.”
When asked if he mentioned something about having a f*tish for p*ddles, Gavin answers, “I have never said that in my entire life.”
Why did Asher get hotter while he was struggling and getting stabbed in the eyeball?
It took me a minute to recognize Tony Todd. Sad.
Men in Black II: At no point in the film did Serleena, who is capable of transformation and has tentacles, transform into a male und*rwear model. :’(
Fullmetal Alchemist: (The manga.) A military fantasy that raises some good questions about ethics. And dat solar aesthetic. The chimera designs were so cool. Envy is a cruel, skimpily dressed shapeshifter with a grotesque “true form” and Lin gets willingly possessed by Greed. So that’s right up my alley.
Break My Heart 1,000 Times: Good time to read this. It takes place in February. Read this because I Still See You has Richard Harmon. The book started off decently but I didn’t like the protagonist’s behavior near the end of part three. And there’s some sexism. Like hysterically slapping her love interest and blaming herself for not having any weapons in her room because she’s a girl. Seriously, I keep a bigass King James Bible on my nightstand. If anyone breaks in, they’re getting brained by the Good Book. Or a lamp. Or the nightstand itself. But hopefully my dog would maul an intruder first.
Christine: Wasn’t really into it but you might be if you’re into corruption, e.g. a nerdy guy becoming slightly more physically appealing jerk*ss.
The 100: I got teary-eyed when Clarke and Lexa were saying goodbye and then the latter accidentally gets short. Poor Murphy can’t catch a break, as usual. Started season four the other day.
Hostel: DUMB REASON TO GO “OUT OF BOUNDS”, FELLAS.
Going into this, I thought I’d like Jay Hernandez’s character the most but then I found the other guys cuter until the end then I really liked Paxton. Weirdly enough, I found Alexei cute. There’s decent whump but I’m not into v*mit.
I think I saw an ad with the guy who tortured Paxton when I was in elementary school but I mistook it for something from one of the Saw movies. This was obviously before I had any interest in watching these kinds of movies. XD
Songs of the Day: I’ve been listening to a lot of Dead inside the Chrysalis/Dedderz lately... I’m crushing on Manek Deboto. He should be the one wearing a th*ng in the She’s So Rad music vid! If they ever do  “He’s So Rad” they should include Elm Street’s Jesse Walsh and Brian from Brain Damage...

Anime/Manga sociopathic characters
Hi! Here’s a new list of characters in anime and manga with a mental disorder, this time it’s sociopathy. In my psychopath characters list, I talked about the differences between a psychopath and a sociopath. I highly suggest you if you didn’t already do it, to go read it before looking at that list. It was harder to find sociopath characters, since it seems to be easier for an author to unconsciously create a psychopathic character than a sociopathic one. Some of them might not be entirely sociopath, but they all have sociopathic traits since sociopathy (anti-social personality disorder) might be a spectrum, therefore, someone could have sociopathic traits without being 100% a sociopath. It’s probably because usually, in order to be diagnosis sociopath, one needs to be 18 years old and over (while a psychopath is born that way, and sociopath is something that is developed). So a character under 18 might have the potential to become a sociopath, without being able to be diagnosis yet. Anyway, without further ado, here’s my list of sociopathic characters.
Full-fledge sociopath
Togane Sakuya (Psycho-pass)
Tumblr media
Once again with a Psycho-pass character. For those of you who had seen the second season, you must know that Togane was created as an experience to create an artificial asymptomatic criminal, which I already linked to psychopathy. But Togane failed to keep is psycho-pass clear and thus, became the latent criminal with the darkest psycho-pass. So by that logic, he can’t be a psychopath, but he still has some traits similar to one, such as the ability to put a facade to make himself look friendly, lack of empathy, manipulative, liar, cruel. But those can also fit a sociopath. Since both psychopathy and sociopathy are part of the anti-social personality disorder, I think it’s possible that the experiment he underwent as a kid half worked, since he does show sign of having an anti-social personality disorder, but not the “good type”. He also lacks the ambitious and control desire of a psychopath, as well as hurting others for his own pleasure. Most of his actions are under the order of his mother.
Kizami Yuuya (Corpse Party)
Tumblr media
That creep...At first I mistook him for a psychopath, but for my defence, I was young and didn’t know the difference between those two disorders. Kizami used to torture and kill small animals as a kid, which is usually a sign of anti-social personality disorder. Tho it’s more frequent for psychopath kids, it can also be observed in kids who have the potential to grow up as a sociopath. Psychopathic kids usually do that to experiment with killing, while sociopathic kids it’s more a way to express their frustration on a being weaker than them, which was probably the case with Kizami. As a kid, he felt unloved, misunderstood and put down by his family, especially his older siblings. Growing up he became distrustful of others and actually pretty much hate everyone, but put a facade of being normal, kind, friendly and charismatic, and was really popular at school. He never commits any murder, until he got the opportunity when he and his classmates were transported to a haunted school into another dimension. You see, unlike psychopath killers who planned their murders, sociopath killers are opportunist killers. They usually don’t plan their murders, they wait for an occasion to strike, or simply act on impulse. That’s what Kizami did, he ended up in the perfect situation to finally snap and go on a killing spree. Even if Kizami was 17 years, he’s close enough of 18 and would most likely have a sociopath diagnosis.
Asagiri Kaname (Mahou Shoujo Site)
Tumblr media
Also known as shitty brother by the fandom, and this surname is well deserving. But Kaname isn’t only a sociopath, he’s also a narcissist. In fact, the perfect disorder to describe him would be a malignant narcissist, which is a mix of narcissistic personality disorder, anti-social personality disorder (sociopathy) and sadistic personality disorder (what a great combination...). It makes him close to a psychopath, but he’s too impulsive and emotional. He had the type of childhood to explain such a disorder. He was mistreated by his father who was completely obsessed about his grades. If Kaname didn’t have perfect grades, his father punched him. Growing up in an unstable or hostile environment can cause sociopathy, while either being put down or used by a parent for their own glory can cause narcissistic personality disorder. Kaname has no sympathy for others, he used them to achieve his goals and has no problem killing them, and he enjoyed abusing his little sister and tormenting others he views as inferior. He considered everyone a scum and view himself as blessed and chosen by gods, or even a god himself. He’s able to make himself look friendly and charming to hide his true self and manipulate others. All of this makes him a major asshole, but he’s not 100% to blame for that. His father is, Kaname is the result of bad parenting, and ended up being so horrible as a way to cope with his father’s abuse.
Grell Sutcliff (Kuroshitsuji)
Tumblr media
[note: I’ll use they/them pronoun for Grell, since it’s still unclear if Grell is a homosexual man or a transgender woman. I’m doing this to avoid any conflict, this isn’t my personal view of this character, I’ll keep it for another post]
Grell is shown to lack understanding of compassion and human emotions, especially during the Jack the Ripper arc when they killed Madam Red for not killing Ciel. They have no problem with committing murder, they’re impulsive, violent, show no regret or remorse for there acts, and seems to lack empathy. They are able to fake a harmless persona to trick others, they have difficulties with authorities and keeping their job. I thought at first that it was because they are a shinigami, but we learned that shinigami used to be human and let’s not forget that the other shinigami aren’t acting this way. Interesting fact, the real Jack the Ripper, according to some analysis and studies, might have been a sociopathic serial killer due to their messy murders that didn’t seem to be the crime of a cold a prepared psychopathic serial killer.
Shioi Rina (Mahou Shoujo Site)
Tumblr media
Another MSS character. Shioi does exhibit a lot of sociopathic tendencies. She’s manipulative, cunning, violent, cruel, remorseless, impulsive, lacking regret for her actions and has no problem with killing. I thought at first that it was only in reaction to knowing about Tempest, but we learned later that she was already acting similarly before knowing about Tempest. She seems to have a hatred for others because of the bullying she underwent, which could have caused her to develop an anti-social personality. Even when she’s confronted to those she had harm by killing someone they loved (Najimi), she still shows no remorse or sympathy and even jokes about it. She may have developed some bond with the characters later on, but sociopaths are able to bond with those they feel are similar to them. Since the other characters are magical girls with a tragic past like her, it does make sense. The only thing that goes against it is the fact she’s apparently only 13, and usually such a diagnosis can only be made around 18. It could be because it’s a fictional character and that the author didn’t know about that, but other than the age, Shioi pretty much fits the sociopathic type.
Characters with sociopathic traits
Pretty much everyone in the Phantom Troupe (Hunter X Hunter)
Tumblr media
Even if they do care about each other and are loyal to their group, they never show any compassion, sympathy or empathy for others outside their group and have no problem killing them. They have no consideration for others life and the law. They all seemed to have a rough past that could explain there possible anti-social personality. I don’t have much to say about them since I’m not talking about any of them specifically, but overall they fit the sociopathic type.
Hashiri Nio (Akuma no Riddle)
Tumblr media
As you could read above Nio’s name, I’m not saying Nio is a sociopath. But she does have sociopathic traits. She’s acting all friendly and cheerful with people, but in reality, she admitted to hating them (in the manga only). This fake attitude to hide her hatred of others is common among sociopaths, who usually looks friendly and sociable, despite their dislikes for others in general. Nio also seems to lack empathy and sympathy for others, and can even show great cruelty. She does have the type of childhood that could fit the anti-social personality. She has no relative, she seemed to have been raised on the street and didn’t even have a name before she met Yuri. She was also pretty much abused by Yuri while growing up (hitting a kid with a crop and having an implied intimate relationship with them is abuse, in case someone has a doubt). Since Nio is only 15 and that AnR is pretty realistic when it comes to character’s personality and psychology, Nio couldn’t have a diagnosis, and the fact she’s pretty much brainwashed and under Yuri’s queen bee ability is fucking up her brain in a way that could really happen in real life, making it difficult to actually have a clear idea of her mental condition. Without Yuri, Nio would have probably grown up as a sociopath, and even with Yuri, there’s a chance Nio ends up this way while growing up. After all, it’s not like Yuri would care, all she wants is Nio acting polite and obeying to her. So Nio might because as an adult a sociopath with everyone, except with Yuri thanks to the queen bee ability.
Saionji Hiyoko (Danganronpa)
Tumblr media
That little...Okay, let’s talk about Hiyoko. Once again, I’m not saying she’s a full-fledged sociopath, but she does show sociopathic traits. She has a liking for killing small creatures, such as ants and crabs. She doesn’t hurt any humans physically, but that’s probably because she’s too physically weak to do so, so she instead hurt weaker creatures then her. She’s verbally abusive to others and likes to torment them. Hiyoko had a terrible past where people were jealous of her, to the point of trying to kill her. The only person she seems to like in her family was her father, and she was separated from him. She grew up in a strict and hostile environment, which are the usual ingredients to create a sociopath. Anti-social behaviour is a way to cope with hostility, a way to protect yourself, but when it’s used to often, it can turn into a mental disorder. But Hiyoko isn’t a lost cause, since she shows signs of changing over the series. She honestly cares for Mahiru and even shows concern for Mikan, her usual victim. It could be because due to her past, Hiyoko couldn’t trust others, but by befriending Mahiru and eventually her other classmates, she learns to trust others and lost some of her anti-social personality, which is possible. Hiyoko is 16-17 years old, she wouldn’t be able to have a diagnosis, and she hasn’t killed anyone.
Accelerator (Toaru no majutsu no Index)
Tumblr media
Once again, I’m not saying Accel is a sociopath, because he isn’t. But he does act in a sociopathic way, especially in the beginning of the story. He was used as a guinea pig all his childhood, which could explain his behaviour that looks really anti-social. He was then asked to kill multiple clones for an experiment, and became ruthless, cruel and even sadistic. But after he got beaten by the level 0 Touma, Accel changes. It looks like it was what he needed to snap out of his sociopathic behaviours. He realized how wrong he was and regret his acts. He still continues to act cruelly with his enemies, but he’s actually trying to change for the best. So Accel may have the potential to become a sociopath (and would probably have become one without Touma’s punch) he isn’t one. He continued to have some anti-social behaviours, but he couldn’t be view as a sociopath because he’s able to have remorse now.
So that’s it for my sociopathic anime/manga characters list. I’m less confident when it comes to sociopaths than psychopaths, so it was harder for me to make this list. Thanks for reading and next time, I’ll make a second psychopathic list.

Sawkill Girls (Review)
Tumblr media
Sawkill Girls
by Claire Legrand
Beware of the woods and the dark, dank deep. He’ll follow you home, and he won’t let you sleep.
Who are the Sawkill Girls?
Marion: the new girl. Awkward and plain, steady and dependable. Weighed down by tragedy and hungry for love she’s sure she’ll never find.
Zoey: the pariah. Luckless and lonely, hurting but hiding it. Aching with grief and dreaming of vanished girls. Maybe she’s broken—or maybe everyone else is.
Val: the queen bee. Gorgeous and privileged, ruthless and regal. Words like silk and eyes like knives, a heart made of secrets and a mouth full of lies.
Their stories come together on the island of Sawkill Rock, where gleaming horses graze in rolling pastures and cold waves crash against black cliffs. Where kids whisper the legend of an insidious monster at parties and around campfires.
Where girls have been disappearing for decades, stolen away by a ravenous evil no one has dared to fight… until now.
REVIEW:
I think I first saw this book on booktube? Or maybe it was bookstagram and I was very intrigued by the cover and then, I went to Goodreads like a good girl and found out more about it. I wasn’t sure if it was my kind of book but then, recently, I went on an e-book spree and bought it. I am so glad I did.
“Come for a while, reads the sign at Sawkill’s ferry dock, and stay forever.”
This was first Claire Legrand book and what a smashing introduction to her writing and imagination! I should mention that I read it in a single day and it was simply because I couldn’t really put it down and leave it. It just wasn’t possible for me. So, I read on, there were moments when I was really left wondering ‘What the hell is happening in this book? Am I ever gonna really understand?’. That was in the beginning but as the plot evolved and more mysteries unfolded, I could really see what was happening and then, I literally couldn’t put it down.
“Decades of dead girls. Poor girls and rich girls. Black and brown and white girls. All of them Sawkill girls.”
Sawkill Rock, a lovely place full of lovely people and lovelier woods but it holds a history of sadness and horror. Girls have been going missing and assumed dead far more often than people might feel comfortable with. No amount of search parties or wish-making is able to help them find the girls. They just vanish and never come back. The way Claire Legrand describes the island and the people just makes me wish I was there. Almost. Considering everything else, I would rather not, you know?
“Tragedy had touched Sawkill, again and again and again, but after each girl’s disappearance, once a respectable amount of time had passed, everyone seemed to stop caring.”
There are three main characters, all of them, heartbroken in their own way. Marion, a young woman who has lost her father and is trying her best to make sure that her mother and her sister are alright in the face of such loss. She hasn’t really had the chance to grieve for her father in the same way as her family because she’s become the rock that carries them forward. She is also plus sized and whose sexuality I wouldn’t want to define but she likes girls? Then we have Zoey, she’s black and sort of on the asexual spectrum and has had a tough time since she lost her best friend to island just like untold number of girls. Her father is the town sheriff and she has a really good relationship with him that is tested as the story progresses. Lastly, we have Val, who belongs to one of the most prestigious families on the island and who has some pretty dark secrets which are damaging not only the island but her too. She has had relationships with guys but she is also attracted to girls. Her sexuality isn’t quite defined and I wouldn’t want to.
There’s also a few more secondary characters two of which I am not even how to describe but one of them I can happily talk about. Grayson. Zoey’s ex-boyfriend who is best friends with even after the break-up. He’s a precious bean and I was so happy whenever he was the page. Seriously. Such a bean. There’s the island itself, yes, it’s a character with feelings and thoughts and strategies. The Rock has its own role to play in the whole mystery and the parts are written so well that sometimes I just read them again for the sake of it.
“What I’m saying is that girls hunger. And we’re taught, from the moment our brains can take it, that there isn’t enough food for us all.”
This book, along with the horror and the fantasy element of it, also deals with how girls are viewed and raised and pitted against each other in littlest of ways. How they are generally underestimated without much conscious thought, it’s just almost default thought process sometimes and that speaks volumes. It also deals with how people, even people who know better, sometimes can’t help their thoughts. It dealt with the asexuality spectrum in a way that felt realistic. Because even when people understand, there are times when words leave lips that aren’t well-thought out or deserving but are only the after effects of emotions. Those words are unforgivable and yet, we are shown how those things can happen. Ace-phobia is very much real and very different from homophobia but just as important and I am so glad Claire Legrand addressed it in such a way.
This book is very feminist and I am glad for it, it shows three very different girls from different backgrounds who are trying to deal with loss and grief and life in general in their own way. They are brought together because of tragedies around them and are then almost made part of the cult and sacrificed but they change the cliche. I had and still have mixed feelings about the cult shown in the book, the way the men are shown to be very one-dimensional and almost too offensive. I understand that was the way they were supposed to be and one of the members did have doubts and decided to be better but on the whole, I wanted a bit more flesh? More personality. I understand that they were supposed to represent the entitlement that men have enjoyed for far too long but well, something didn’t sit well with about that, hence the four stars and not five.
“You are mighty. You are one, and one, and one. You are fragile. You can move mountains. You are breakable. You will never break. This power is mine. And now it is yours, too.”
Another problem with the book was the main villain, the Collector. Initially, I was really intrigued and frankly, that was one of the reasons I couldn’t put it down but near the end of the book, I was left a bit disappointed? I mean, the way it all worked out even with the background information we got about the Collector. I was…sort of not in awe. Also, the ending. It’s not that I didn’t want a good ending but the way the plot had moved in the last few chapters, I had sort of got my closure near the end and then to read the actual ending. It was…not bad? But not what I would have expected from all that happened in the book so far, you know?
However, overall, this book is really good. I am seriously so, so glad that I picked it up. Claire Legrand’s writing is so good and the atmosphere and the aesthetic of the whole book just made it so easy to get lost in it. I would definitely be on the lookout for her next works and I want to read Furyborn too! If horror and fantasy along with some gore is your thing, then you should definitely pick it up. There are some trigger contents and if you are uncomfortable about the following things then probably don’t pick it up. Violence, grief, loss of a loved one, gore, parental abuse, sexual abuse, blood, bleeding, talk of miscarriage, animal death, descriptions of murders, etc.

An Analysis on Jason Dean
Being callous, cynical and disrespectful of othersI’ve wanted to make a post on this ever since I watched the musical + movie a few weeks ago. I want to make a disclaimer before I get into the rest of the post, however: Just because I’m making a point about this obviously horrible person, that does not mean that I believe that people with the disorders that I will be pointing out are bad people.
The case of Jason Dean is simply me throwing headcanons, and using logic to back these headcanons up. If you don’t agree, then that’s your opinion that you are more than welcome to.
This post also does not serve to justify his actions in the movie and musical. Jason Dean is a horrible, horrible person. No mental illness or diagnosis can change or justify his actions.
With that out of the way, I’ll start my analysis under the cut.
From my research of different disorders, Jason Dean shows very obvious signs and symptoms of two Cluster B personality disorders: Borderline Personality Disorder and Anti-Social Personality Disorder. In this post, I’ll be going in-depth with my reasoning as to why I feel that these two disorders fit Jason Dean as a character... Without including the murders that litter the plot of Heathers. They’re self-explanatory, and I feel that including them would be in bad taste, and there’s plenty of other subtextual things that prove my headcanon without the outright implication of “he murdered three people, that’s more than enough proof he has these disorders.”
I’ll start with Borderline Personality Disorder. The list of symptoms that I will be using for this post can be found [here]. I’ll be going down the list and pointing canonical facts to support my claims.
Efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment, such as rapidly initiating intimate (physical or emotional) relationships or cutting off communication with someone in anticipation of being abandoned
This one is fairly obvious, considering how he’s very quick to get upset over the idea of Veronica leaving him. He’ll do whatever it takes to keep her from leaving, because he needs her. See his promise to change in Seventeen, as well as his reaction when she breaks up with him after McNamara’s attempted suicide.
The attempt to bomb the school falls under this, due to his views of the school + student body “taking” her from him, and causing her to abandon him.
Also, see his warning to Veronica in Freeze Your Brain:
But the sky’s gonna hurt when it falls So you’d better start building some walls
A pattern of intense and unstable relationships with family, friends, and loved ones, often swinging from extreme closeness and love (idealization) to extreme dislike or anger (devaluation)
Four words: Meant To Be Yours. He’s so mood-swingy about Veronica in the song, and it’s one of the things that makes it so amazing to me. He goes from sadness to anger in a split second, and then back again.
Not to mention the very beginning of the song!
You chucked me out like I was trash, For that you should be dead-- But! But! But! Then it hit me like a flash! What if high school went away instead?
It’s also important to note his views of the Heathers and the Jocks: they’re all terrible people who deserved to die. There’s no gray area when it comes to people for him. People are either good or bad, with no in between.
Distorted and unstable self-image or sense of self
His entire identity, throughout the musical, revolves around Veronica’s love for him.As long as Veronica loves him, he’s... Okay. Ish.
Impulsive and often dangerous behaviors, such as spending sprees, unsafe sex, substance abuse, reckless driving, and binge eating.
I know that I said that I wouldn’t use the murders to prove my point,  but I feel this is a necessary place to: his decision to kill Heather Chandler is impulsive. A spur of the moment thing, and something that he obviously doesn’t think through very well. He’s very aware of how risky the situation is, yet he continues to not tell Veronica that she grabbed the wrong cup.
Also in the movie he rides his motorcycle without a helmet.
Self-harming behavior, such as cutting
The entirety of Freeze Your Brain.
Also, in Meant to Be Yours:
You left me and I fell apart I punched the wall and cried BAM! BAM! BAM!
Recurring thoughts of suicidal behaviors or threats
Once again, look at Freeze Your Brain and the fact that he??? Literally kills himself at the end.
When the voice in your head Says your better off dead Don’t open a vein Just freeze your brain!
Intense and highly changeable moods, with each episode lasting from a few hours to a few days
Again, I would like to point you to the  entire end of the musical, where his mood is changing rapidly. Not just in Meant to Be Yours, but also between Dead Girl Walking (Reprise) and Damaged.
Inappropriate, intense anger or problems controlling anger
Once Again, see Meant to Be Yours. Also, in general, how he gets incredibly angry over little things throughout the musical. Especially when he points the gun at Veronica, even if it is an accident.
Difficulty trusting, which is sometimes accompanied by irrational fear of other people’s intentions
Freeze Your Brain’s beginning:
Don’t learn the names Don’t bother with faces
Now, for ASPD, or Antisocial Personality Disorder, I will be using the symptoms listed [here].
Antisocial personality disorder, sometimes called sociopathy, is a mental condition in which a person consistently shows no regard for right and wrong and ignores the rights and feelings of others. People with antisocial personality disorder tend to antagonize, manipulate or treat others harshly or with callous indifference. They show no guilt or remorse for their behavior.
Individuals with antisocial personality disorder often violate the law, becoming criminals. They may lie, behave violently or impulsively, and have problems with drug and alcohol use. Because of these characteristics, people with this disorder typically can't fulfill responsibilities related to family, work or school.
Disregard for right and wrong.
I feel that this one is fairly obvious. JD doesn’t really care if what he’s doing fits into society’s definition of “right” and “wrong.” He’s doing his own thing, and that’s all that really matters to him.
Persistent lying or deceit to exploit others.
Did you meant: The Entire Musical and Movie? JD consistently lies to Veronica to get her to go along with what he wants to do. He purposefully doesn’t tell her that she grabbed the wrong cup, and also the whole “Ich Luge Bullets” lie. Both to exploit Veronica into helping him achieve his less-than-morally-sound goals.
Being callous, cynical and disrespectful of others.
He has no respect for most other people, especially not the authority figures in his life. Veronica is an exception, in some ways. But even then?
He’s a very callous and cynical person, and for fuck’s sake. He shoots a gun in the house just to piss his dad off.
Using charm or wit to manipulate others for personal gain or personal pleasure.
Again, please see literally the entire musical. The Ich Luge Bullets scene comes to mind again, as well as his manipulation of Heather Duke to get those signatures for the note. He’s a manipulative person who’ll go to the extreme to accomplish what he wants.
Arrogance, a sense of superiority and being extremely opinionated.
“Our Love is God.” JD has a severe God Complex, labeling himself as the Judge, Jury, and Executioner of all those who had done terrible things at Westerburg.
His opinions are really all that matters to him, and let’s take a look at the movie for a lovely example. In the scene where he takes Veronica away from the pasture? When he’s pissed about her spending time with another Heather?
“Sorry, I’m feeling a little superior tonight.” Followed by the iconic: “Our love is God, let’s go get a Slushie.” quote.
Recurring problems with the law, including criminal behavior.
Ignoring the murders? There’s still the fights that he gets into.
Repeatedly violating the rights of others through intimidation and dishonesty.
Meant to Be Yours. Just, the entirety of Meant to Be Yours. He’s intimidating Veronica because he wants her back, not caring about how she feels about the situation. He’ll do anything to get her back, because she makes him feel loved. It’s not really about how much he loves her-- He loves the fact that she loved him. And he wants that back.
Impulsiveness or failure to plan ahead.
Admittedly, this entirely describes Musical JD. Movie JD is quite the opposite, however.
Hostility, significant irritability, agitation, aggression or violence.
JD is snappy and violent throughout the entire musical. The scene where he pulls out the gun to shoot the TV? And then points it at Veronica by “accident” when she breaks up with him?
He’s a very irritable and aggressive person, especially if he doesn’t get what he wants. Not to mention, again, violence.
Lack of empathy for others and lack of remorse about harming others.
He doesn’t show any remorse after the murders. At all. He doesn’t show any legitimate remorse throughout the musical. Not even in “I am Damaged.” He’s simply parroting the things that Veronica had said during Seventeen, proving his feeling that he deserves to die over her.
Though I suppose the entirety of “I Am Damaged” proves BPD, more than anything.
Unnecessary risk-taking or dangerous behavior with no regard for the safety of self or others.
I don’t think that there’s any canon evidence for this, but I can still see it.
Poor or abusive relationships.
His relationship with his dad! His relationship with Veronica!
How can anyone look at JDRonica and say that it isn’t toxic as shit? Because it is. Sorry guys, I love the ship? But it’s toxic as fuck, and I really wish that people would portray it as such.
JD isn’t good for Veronica. Their relationship is toxic and unhealthy.
Failure to consider the negative consequences of behavior or learn from them.
Seventeen happens, and then what does JD do after the Shine a Light incident? He suggests killed Heather Duke. He learned nothing from what he and Veronica talked about during the song.
He thinks that Veronica will still love him, even though she made it clear that he needs to stop. Thus she breaks up with him, because he doesn’t know right from wrong. He doesn’t consider that his actions have consequences, and he oversteps the very clear boundary that was set in Seventeen.
To conclude? JD is mentally ill and unstable as fuck, and needed serious help that he didn’t get. Things could have ended better if he had gotten the help that he needed, but he didn’t. And so everything went to shit.
Please stop ignoring how unstable he is just for your “Cute” and “pure” ship. Learn to actually look at a character, instead of turning them into something that they’re not.

regret nothing
This was technically written for Day Four of the @laurahale-appreciation week, that is Bickering Besties. But because I felt bad about not managing to write anything for the first three days, this not only has Stiles and Laura as besties, but also Alpha Laura, Hale Twins, AND Laura didn’t die, all squeezed into one 2k ficlet. And there’s Sterek of course, too! I hope you enjoy it! And go check out all the other fics written for this great new fest!
Derek regrets nothing as much as letting Laura go back to Beacon Hills alone.
Unfortunately she’s his elder - “By twelve minutes and don’t you forget that, Der!” - and his Alpha to boot, so Derek had had to remain alone in New York City while Laura went back to their old territory to look into the strange animal killings reported from there.
And now Derek has to suffer for his twin’s stubbornness. Because Laura? Befriended a pair of high schoolers the very first night she was back in Beacon Hills. And ever since, it’s been nothing but “Stiles this, Stiles that” with the occasional “Scott this” thrown in to mix things up.
Laura met them in the forest. At night. Where she was alone. Because Derek had to stay in New York City. Derek actually video calls her for once because Laura deserves to get glared at for that, but unfortunately she just laughs at him and says:
“I’m the apex predator, Derek, nothing out there would attack me. I was perfectly safe! Now the same cannot be said about tweedle dum and tweedle dee - Scott even has asthma, can you believe them?”
“I can’t even believe you,” Derek grumbles, but Laura ignores him and continues:
“So I heard them from miles away and decided to check up on them out of the good of my heart and Scott almost had an asthma attack when I reached them, but Stiles tried to attack me with a baseball bat - that’s what he was armed with, Derek! A baseball bat in the forest! What did he think he was going to find there? A bat? To bat away with his bat? A bat bat batting?”
And there Laura has to stop talking because she can’t stop laughing at her own terrible joke and Derek rolls his eyes and ends the call. But he sleeps easier that night knowing that Laura is still alive and well, which is not a given considering how Beacon Hills has treated their family.
The next few calls are similar to the first one. Laura calls to let him know that it looks as though there’s another werewolf at large and that’s how all the animals are killed, but at least she promises that she won’t go looking for it in the middle of the night again, and because Derek wheedles their “twinsies winsies vowsies” promise out of her (they were four when they came up with the name) he’s even inclined to believe she’s going to keep it. More concerning is that she visited Uncle Peter and that something was different about him, even though the nurse said there had been no changes. Nevertheless, Laura is sure that his scent has changed somehow - less rotten, is how she describes it and Derek believes. Her nose had always been the best, even before she became the Alpha.
Most concerning however is how Laura won’t stop hanging out with high schoolers. Not even Derek’s warning that she’s going to get arrested as a creeper deters her.
“Stiles’ dad is the Sheriff,” she says and laughs when Derek exclaims: “That just makes it even worse!”
Laura keeps collecting ever new strays, too, first Stiles and Scott, then Lydia and Jackson, and worst of all in Derek’s opinion, Allison Argent, Kate Argent’s niece. That phone call wasn’t a fun one; Derek shredded three of Laura’s throw pillows during it and Laura had to use her Alpha voice to stop him from booking a flight to the west coast immediately.
“She doesn’t even know about us,” Laura had said, quietly insistent, obviously willing Derek to listen. “She’s just a girl, who had to move into a strange new place and whose family is behaving weirdly. I won’t treat her as if she’s turned bad already, not when I might still do something to help her turn away from the dark side.”
“I thought the dark side had cookies,” Derek jokes weakly, but Laura just shakes her head grimly: “No, this one just has beetroot.”
Stiles is still the one she talks about the most, though. Apparently he doesn’t have many friends besides Scott and with Scott apparently in puppy love with Allison, Stiles has a lot of time on his hands suddenly and seems to want to spend it with Laura. Laura tells Derek of their coffee dates, and how they saw the latest MCU movie in the cinema last night, and Derek honestly thinks they are dating for a hot, scary second, until Laura denies it vehemently, with a loud “eewww no!” for effect. “He’s just lonely, I think,” she says, sobering again. “Scott is his best friend and he’s all but forgotten him because of Allison. Other than him he’s not close to many people; his dad is busy with his job, and his mum died years ago. Honestly, at first I mostly felt bad for him, but he’s actually a great guy. He’s funny and smart and sarcastic and a total softie beneath it all - you’d like him!”
“I doubt it,” Derek grumbles, but Laura refuses to drop it. She keeps singing Stiles’ praises and Derek honestly is a little jealous of the guy. He used to be the one Laura was closest to and he’s prepared to hate the guy just because he has stolen his twin sister. But then Stiles saves Laura’s life and Derek can’t even hate him anymore.
Laura is shot at by Kate Argent and Derek can’t sleep for three nights without his phone pressed to his ear and Laura’s heartbeat coming calm and steady through the line. The bill is going to be insane, but it’s worth it. Stiles is the one who finds her and gets Scott and Allison to steal the wolfsbane bullet needed to save Laura’s life. Laura tries to play it off, but Derek knows his twin and he knows it was close, that he almost lost her.
But Laura promises that she’ll be more careful from now on and insists that Derek should stay in New York and at least finish the semester. So when Peter wakes up and goes on a mad killing spree, Derek has to somehow get himself together enough to study for finals while worrying about the last two members of his family ripping each other apart - literally. The only thing keeping him somewhat sane are the regular messages from an unknown number that let him know that Laura is still alive and doing well. There’s also the occasional random remark upon everything from the history of male circumcision to questions about the New York Mets. Derek rarely replies, but he notes that each message is signed ‘Stiles’.
He did promise Laura to get through the semester, but she’s not here to stop him from rushing through his French Post-Revolution Literature exam, handing it in just after the half mark. His flight is leaving in two hours and he still needs to make it to the airport - his classmates staring after him in dismay because they are nowhere near finished yet isn’t his problem.
Derek arrives just in Beacon Hills in time to watch Peter rip out Kate Argent’s throat and to stop Chris Argent from blowing Peter’s brains out. There’s a group of teenagers huddled at the edge of the clearing, apparently armed with homemade molotov cocktails and in one case a bow and arrows of all things. While Derek is grappling with Chris, who is surprisingly strong for a mere human and slippery to boot, Laura tackles Peter and roars him into submission. Derek almost lets Chris go, the urge to submit to his Alpha is so great. Interestingly, he can see some of the teenagers react instinctively, too, either ducking their heads or presenting their necks. When he looks back towards Laura, she’s flashing her eyes at Peter and his flash back, red against blue and Derek lets out a deep breath of relief. Peter has accepted Laura as his Alpha. It’s something neither of them had thought off - with Peter in a coma when Laura became the Alpha, he hadn’t had the chance to build a new pack bond with her and, waking up, had been for all intents and purposes an Omega. Hopefully he’ll be a little less unhinged now that he is part of a proper, if small pack again.
Speaking of unhinged, Chris has renewed his struggles, apparently realising that all attention is going to focus on him now that Peter is under control. Derek just holds him still as best as he can and waits for whatever Laura has decided to do with him.
Laura ignores him to start with, heading towards the teenagers first, kneeling down in front of the brunette, who is white as a sheet but still holding her bow tightly, ready to lift and shoot at a moment’s notice.
“I’m sorry you had to see that, Allison,” Laura says softly. “She deserved to die, but I did not want you to witness her death, especially not like that.”
“She deserved to die?” Chris roars and Derek grabs him more tightly to stop him from attacking Laura with his bare hands. “She was my sister, you monster.”
Laura’s back straightens abruptly and she gets up again, stalking towards Chris and Derek predatorily.
“She was a mass murdering maniac, a cold blooded killer, and a rapist to boot. She murdered my entire family and you call me a monster? I know how much your daughter loves you and that is the only reason why you are still alive right now,” she growls, getting right into Chris’ space. “If you won’t listen to me, listen to Allison, but know that: the Hales are back and this is our territory, to protect from people like you and especially your sister. So tread carefully, very carefully. The real monsters here aren’t the ones with claws.”
Here she flicks her claws at Chris’ face, stopping just short of taking out his eyes, and Derek hears one of the teenagers cheer under his breath: “Yes, show him those claws, Laura!”
Then Laura turns to Derek and says: “Let him go, Der. Allison says she’ll keep him in line and I trust Allison.”
The brunette raises her chin defiantly and nods, obviously aware of how significant that is and not planning to disappoint Laura, so Derek releases Chris, who goes straight to his daughter and drags her away through the trees. Allison rips herself free, though, and runs back to throw her arms around Laura in a hug. Derek hears her whisper: “Thank you, I’ll talk to him. He didn’t know about Kate; I’m sure of it. And I’ll talk to mum, too.” Then she runs back to her father and leads him away.
Laura waits until they are out of sight and human hearing range and then drags Derek into a hard hug, mumbling into his neck: “I thought I told you to stick out the semester! Didn’t you have an exam today?”
“I did,” Derek defends himself. “I finished early; it’s not my fault if the exam’s too easy!”
Laura laughs and releases him just long enough to drag him over to the remaining four teenagers:
“Guys, this is my younger brother Derek, whom you all already know about.”
“It’s just twelve minutes, Laura,” Derek mutters, and Laura pinches him in the side.
“As I was saying, my younger brother Derek, and these are Scott-” A curly haired boy who is still looking after Allison and her father, as if they are suddenly going to reappear. “and Jackson-” A prototypical high school jock, who seems to be more than a little shell shocked, but also definitely very much in awe of Laura. “and Lydia-” She’ll definitely be prom queen, Derek thinks, but there’s a shrewd look in her eyes that makes him think that she’ll probably be valedictorian as well. “and last, but so not least,” Laura gestures dramatically and Derek already knows what’s coming because the only one that’s missing is Stiles, Laura’s new best friend. Derek has come up with all sorts of horrible visions of what he might look like, all to fit a horrible sister stealer, but all of them pale against reality. A buzzcut, lickable moles, and obscenely pink lips are the first things Derek notices, followed by the most gorgeous eyes he has ever seen, almost werewolf golden and with a twinkle that holds teasing promise.
“This is Stiles,” Laura finishes with a flourish.
And Derek thinks: “Oh god, he’s pretty.”
And Laura cackles in delight.

Just finished my season 4 rewatch
Final thoughts? I love this season. Truly. The LMD arc and the Framework arc were really creative...even though robots becoming self-aware is a really common trope in science-fiction, it was well executed and kept me interested the whole way through. Characters started in one place and ended in another, and their development was realistic and intriguing.
That being said, this season had some serious issues, which I've compiled into a list below. It's also a kind of "don't do this in season 5 plz" list.
1) the darkhold and lazy storytelling
If you're like me, you had no extreme prior knowledge of the darkhold or the Doctor Strange portion of this season. The writers though, instead of taking that into account and explaining what it was and what it did, used the darkhold as a magical "cure-all" for inconceivable plot points. It felt like a lazy cop-out for the writers when they didn't want to explain something fully. Something doesn't make sense? Don't worry about it, it's the darkhold. Something goes against the laws of nature? Darkhold. Darkhold, Darkhold, Darkhold and then suddenly we were in a plot that made no conceivable sense unless you abandoned all better moral judgement and didn't take the show so seriously.
2) ghost rider and pacing
Dont get me wrong, I loved Robbie. But this arc was rushed and didn't tie into the other arcs at all. It was a block story, with a hurried backstory, and it didn't flow at all. Robbie was only in like 9 of the 22 episodes, then he came in at the end to save the day? It felt off and next season I hope they take their time to tell the stories the way they deserve to be told, not the way they told the ghost rider arc.
3) lampshading and more lazy storytelling
If you don't know what lampshading is, that's fine. It's basically the writers saying something goes against the audience's willingness to accept, then they have the characters call it out in the show. A good example of this would be in ep 4x22 when Aida and Daisy come face to face and Aida says "I thought it's be fun to watch you kill your self (in reference to Daisy's LMD)" to which Daisy responds "seriously, Aida, therapy. Just consider it."
When we first heard that line, we all laughed and made textposts that were like #me #same or something of that nature. But we were missing the point: this was the writers acknowledging that Aida's manic behavior was completely unfounded and unjustified, and they were too lazy to think of a real motivation for her. This was them saying, "we know that Aida going crazy like this is completely unrealistic, but just let it go." This is seriously the laziest thing they could do in terms of the story and I was really disappointed in the way they handled this.
4) Aida's humanity and unreliable character motivations
This lampshading brings me to another point. Up until the end of the framework and when Aida saved Mack, I was completely on board with her whole 'robot to human' thing. I was even accepting that she was going to be the series finale "big bad" when it all went downhill and I was excited to see what would drive her over the edge. Then came the pod scene with Fitz, and we found out that it was his rejection of her that made everything go to shit.
I get that Aida was a new human mind, and that she was basically an infant with deadly powers. His rejection hurt, and I get that. BUT this felt SO lazy in terms of storytelling. Girl likes boy, boy rejects girl, and girl....goes on a murder spree and wants to bring on a fascist state? It's too big of a jump, even with all the new emotions she was dealing with. Next time, it would be better if they were to think of a realistic motivation for their "big bad".
5) showing, not telling
Ok this point might be just me wearing my fitzsimmons shipper goggles, but I did try to suspend my emotions with this one. This season was the first where Fitzsimmons was an established couple, and we all had really high hopes. The first let-down was the throw away "I love you" over the telephone, but we all got over it because we could tell that the fitzsimmons love story was going to be a big part of the framework arc. It was set up with the "the one thing I've known this whole time is that you and fitz belong together" line from Daisy, and we were all shitting ourselves because writers don't just throw in a bombshell like that without follow through. We're getting more and more excited every time someone says something about fitzsimmons in the framework, from Daisy's "she loves you" to radcliffe's "you were in love! The fitz I knew nearly drowned for Jemma, he crossed the bloody universe to rescue her" and even to Jenna's passionate speech to Ward to save Fitz's life.
My problem with all of this, however, was that not once did we see this love that we were promised. Their love wasn't enough to break Fitz free, and in the finale we hardly got a single moment between them. There was no follow through from the love story that we were promised, and the whole thing fell short. If I were a casual viewer, I'd have been confused. "I thought they were in love" I'd have asked. "They hardly looked at each other all season, and I'm expected to believe that these two are meant for each other?"
6) mackelena
Let me preface this by saying I love mackelena. They're so good together and they're a bright spot in every episode. BUT, neither of these characters are main characters. I would argue that Daisy, Coulson, May, and Fitzsimmons are the main characters, as all of them have been around and pivotal to the seasons since the beginning. We met Mack in season two, and Yo-Yo a bit later.
Yet Mackelena got a HUGE part of this framework arc. Half the finale was Elena trying to get Mack out of the Framework, and at the end they kissed and talked about their future. But what bugged me about this was that it took up a lot of time (time that was desperately needed to tell the real story).
And, if I'm honest, I'm mad that fitzsimmons didn't get this arc. Fitzsimmons is a couple that has now been working since season 1, and is definitely one of the reasons I keep watching this show. With all the setup mentioned in #5, it would have made more narrative sense for Fitzsimmons to get the whole romantic arc that Mackelena did.
But at the same time it was a beautiful and heartbreaking story that I really enjoyed. I guess if there had been more time to tell all of the other elements first, I would have been completely on board with Mackelena's arc. It just felt to me, ultimately, to be a waste of time and an undeserved arc.
I guess that's all! I still loved season four and I'm very much looking forward to hiatus being over and the season five premiere.
Next season, in conclusion, I'd like to see:
More developed storylines
Less lazy storytelling
Follow through
Pacing
