So this is almost certainly going to be an unpopular opinion for some, but for a long time now I’ve been feeling that the RWBY fandom puts just a bit TOO much stock in the various fairytale/mythology/literary allusions of the characters when it comes to theory-crafting. It feels like people find out that a certain character A is an allusion to another character B from an already completed story and go ‘Well that must mean that Character A is going to turn out just like Character B!’
Which of course completely ignores that these are allusions and references. Ruby Rose might have strong parallels and similarities to Little Red Riding Hood, but that does not mean she IS literally Little Red Riding Hood. Just as Weiss Schnee is NOT literally Snow White, Penny Polendina is NOT literally Pinocchio and Oscar Pine is NOT literally the Little Prince. Ultimately, whatever allusion a character might have comes SECOND to who they are as an actual character, NOT the other way around.
Whatever allusions a character has might inform what could happen to them, but that should still be treated as secondary to what we actually see them do in the show.
For example, I see a LOT of ships in the RWBY fandom that people seem to largely use interpretations of the characters’ allusions as ‘evidence’, rather than what the characters actually DO in the actual SHOW. Like has anyone noticed that discussions of ships like Bumbleby, Renora, Nuts and Dolts or White Rose have historically not involved much interpretation (relatively speaking anyway) of the potential ‘complimentary allusions’ of these characters? Because there is no NEED to, because all the evidence for these ships is right fucking there on the screen. Meanwhile we’ve got ships (and I am NOT naming names) that people will swear up and down are TOTALLY going to be canon for really-realsies where most or even all of the ‘evidence’ consists of people effectively playing some kind of matching game with their allusions. Or saying nothing more than ‘Character A kinda-sorta resembles the love-interest of Character B’s allusion’.
And ALL of this doesn’t even take into account the biggest factor which I keep getting the impression that WAY too many RWBY fans still having gotten the memo on:
The fact that RWBY literally NEVER plays its allusions STRAIGHT.
All the way from minute one when we saw an allusion to Little Red Riding Hood cutting down a horde of Big Bad Wolves, RWBY has ALWAYS been subverting, inverting, flipping, twisting and otherwise playing it’s allusions, references and archetypes literally ANY way but actually STRAIGHT.
Little Red Riding Hood hunts the Big Bad Wolf. Snow White is equal parts Princess AND Knight in Shining Armor. Cinderella is a tragic villain origin story. Pinocchio was always a real girl. The Great and Powerful Wizard Oz is far more powerful than anyone thought, but is ALSO far more of a fraud than anyone thought.
So when people use these characters’ allusions as some kind of rigid road-map to theorize what might happen to them, it’s not just that this detracts from their identity as their own characters; the story itself isn’t even using that map!
I mean speaking personally, that’s what has always made RWBY theory-crafting FUN. Trying to guess how the writers might twist and flip the allusions they’re using. But that also means that the allusions of the various characters simply DON’T actually provide ANY kind of accurate ‘road-map’ for where they might be going. Instead, the best we can do is use what the actual show has actually shown us to get any kind of idea where the characters are headed.
Ultimately, I feel like too often I see that when people are making theories about RWBY characters, they are treating them more like the characters they are based on, instead of the characters they actually ARE.

Prof. Gelé AU Concept
To be clear this isn't the only Au/ comic I'll put the model in but it is the one that comes to mind for me most often.
Bleiss is born into the previous generation to RWBY's main characters like Jaune was in my Prof. Arc AU, also like him she became Glynda's partner.
There wasn't really much to say about Bleiss, not really. She Nicholas Schnee's second born daughter. She had talent, beauty and a fierce intellect. But she was also a rebellious teen with a chip on her shoulder towards Atlas.
After that one snake in the grass tried to coil around her what was his name again Assques? Anyways she broke his nose, stole his date and the next day sick of this Atlas high Society shit she left to be a Huntress in Vale, to live her own life how she pleased, free from the SDC.
And Bleiss didn't just manage she fucking flourished! Made a cute friend and admittedly unrequited love named Summer, the best drinking buddy ever in a Branwen called Qrow and finally a bitch she could count to cover her back in Glynda...
Yeah admittedly the two didn't get along too well at first... Okay more like their first two years but whatever. Anyways Bleiss fucking loved her life, shit even turned out she had a knack for this teaching shit.
though only for Hunter Academies, combat school parents were always complaining bout their brats picking up some of her awesome habits.
She loved her students, some more the others specifically of the cute girl variety. Gawd did she love putting that brat Coco in her place. She'd have to do it again soon, the girl had been a bit too cocky recently with her fellow students after all.
But for now there were mors important things to deal with. Some fuckers had attacked Amber, she might not have fucked the girl or anything but she was a former student and nobody fucked with the brats she trained, graduated or not.
So she was suprised when the Malachites called her. The pair of girls she trained both on fighting and in bed having been excited over beating Ray's fucking brat who tried to wreck her favorite club. Thank god she gave them a few lessons on fighting from time to time.
Anyways apparently Junior got some kid some fake transcripts. A part of her wanted to grab the suspicious brat and throw him in a cell to interrogate. Too coincidental that someone attacks Amber, steals half her fucking soul and now someone else is trying to sneak into where they just so happen to have her.
So she makes it a point to be in front of the Bullhead the faker was coming in through. She was gonna decide what to do with him once she saw him. After all her drinking buddy Qrow got in with fake transcripts after all so she had to at least pretend to give him the benefit of the doubt...
She felt a bit bad for her neice Weiss, yeah she wasn't exactly her favorite kid of her sis but still. She always did like sweet, little innocent Whitley betterbafter all.
Then her daughter started showing of her dad's side and the guilt for not paying her too much mind died...
Seriously she left the brat there in a freaking crater sniffling and... And... And who the fuck was that?
Tall, blonde and strangely getting her engines roaring was a blonde boy with deep blue eyes, and a freaking knight aesthetics and a sword and... Wait? That was him!?
Okay so the brat apparently had a semblance that influenced people, had to be that? She wasn't into men. So why did her eyes keep tracking him, right right semblance.
Well didn't matter she had her man targeted and went in for the kill. Grabbing the blonde away after old Ozzy's dumb speech. Really it was less kidnapping and more telling the blonde to follow her.
A lie about boys sleeping separately from girls and he was all too willing to follow. Really he was sorta naive for a spy/ assassin. She had him right where she wanted, in her room ready to get straight to the Seductio-Interrogation! She meant Interrogation.
Thankfully the hunky chump still believed he was in the clear so she just had to act all treachery and respectable and junk while she slowly used her ace.
Alchohol, loose lips came hand in hand with drinks after all. And here he was all trusting, with that dopey sweet smile and those lovely blue eyes and that fuckable fac- DAMMIT!
She didn't think he'd be heavy drinker like her, brat could hold his liquor... Sexy. Finally though she managed to ignore the blazing inferno that was her libido long enough to get down to buisness.
And by that she meant she broke a bottle and he reached to clean it for her drunk ass... And cut himself.
He, he didn't have aura... And then everything came out now that she was interrogating the boy about his aura outta worry more then suspicion. After all he couldn't be a spy without aura. That'd be retarded and suicidal, once she told him how she knew he was a fake he buckled and caved in...
And she listened, listened to the blonde talk about his dream, and how he was denied the chance to even attempt it. How he ran away from home, sold just about everything he owned to get his hands on the fake papers so he could risk it all on the chance to attempt to live up to his families name.
So he could be a hero instead of just his families biggest dissapointment... Their black sheep. And she made up her mind then.
Glyn would've blamed the booze, but Bleiss knew perfectly well what she wanted to do.
So she did something she really did...
Something Glynda feared her doing, she gave the blonde a private lesson... And no not the sexy kind though she was awfully fucking tempted.
But no Bleiss Gelé unlocked the blonde's stud levels of aura and then went full out drill Sargent on the sexy blonde. Most would've broke, hell many combat school graduates did under her excessive, cruel and unusual tutoledge.
It was why she was strictly teaching in Dust classes so she couldn't train the poor soft Hunters-in-training. But Jaune didn't break, oh he whined, cried and yelled, but the blonde as it turned out was made of tougher stuff then his folks gave him credit for.
And then the night was over... Dawn broke and the poor blonde bastard hadn't gotten a wink of sleep. But that was fine, she had a plan, she'd go to Ozzy, get his permission to make the kid her sexy assistant like she was gonna do for sweet lil Whitley when he came down for Vytal and then she'd... And he was gone!
Next thing she knows she's freaking out over the kid being launched into the fucking Emerald Forest! Oh Gawd! She wore him the fuck out and not even in the fun way!
She'd never been more pissed at her partner then she was at that moment as Glynda restrained her. She was freaking the fuck out as she saw the poor kid launched through the air... Then he wasn't cuz that one famous brat chucked her spear his way.
Then she directed herself his way... Did something happen between them? How? Darling must've at best had a minute or two to interact with anyone on the way here?
After several more minutes of annoyingly futile resistance she finally calmed down and accepted things as is and decided to watch Jaune try his luck during Initiation and vouch for him if he failed.

Glynda felt very... Conflicted over her partner Bleiss. On one hand she'd known her through her entire time in Beacon. She understood Bleiss even if at times if was irritating to do so.
It was ultimately why she felt secured to a point around her. Glynda knew what to expect from her... Usually. Right now as she fretted over a random boy who she couldn't have known for more then a few hours was leaving her utterly stumped.
She observed him, and frankly Jaune Arc while having high aura levels was hardly what she could call competent. The boy was tripping all over himself and getting lost in thought randomly.
He was proving to be a detriment to his partner. Then they entered that cave and he... Did he fall asleep!?
Actually looking closer at him the blonde he looked utterly exhausted and his aura levels were rather low especially given how quickly they were restoring... If she didn't know better she'd have thought the Arc had been fighting for his life, the. Night... Prior.
No...
Turning she looked to her worried partner and spoke the most dire question without thinking positive even her impulsive, sadistic partner wouldn't be so reckless.
"Bleiss what did you do?" Bleiss avoided her gaze and begun to mumble, that was never a good sign.
"What did you say?"
"I... just... Trained him a bit last night." She wasn't the only on to look horrified, Port, Oobeleck and even Ozpin looked pale at the implications. After what Bleiss considered legitimate training was illegal across the kingdoms.
"How is he alive..." She agreed with Port before turning back to the screen concerned about the boy.
Her previous concerns were utterly dashed. Anyone who could survive Gelé's training more the deserved a spot in Beacon.

Exhausted, irritated and sore were Jaune's feelings... Aura, thank merciful Oum for aura! He didn't know how he survived all these years without it. But he was sure he would've died last night if not for the soulful energy.
Miss Gelé was terrifying, at first he'd been flustered when such a pretty older woman tricked him into her room, then confused and then worried when his transcripts came to life.
But all that fell wayside when out of nowhere she stood up grabbed him, dragged him outside and told him she'd be teaching him a few of the basics a Huntsman needed to know.
He'd been about to talk back, not willing to take a hand out even if from a teache- Then she knocked him flat on his ass, walked up to him and said some kinda cool sounding words before she unlocked his aura.
Oh she explained what she did to him. But did so as she was stabbing at him with a freaking sword, darting around the place like a bullet. She even summoned monsters! Just constant pain, agony on the physical front and lectures on Grimm, Aura, Dust and a ton of other stuff he didn't know about.
All while she continued to beat his ass...
Once his aura shattered she'd beat him with fist, kicks and really painful grabs until it restored and they were back to him trying not to be impaled! Wash and rinse and repeat to sunrise! She looked happy! Excited even!
But hey, at least he had super powers now... Aura was awesome. Though right now he'd trade it in a heart beat for a coffee of even better a pillow...
But those thoughts could wait! He had bigger worries. He didn't go through all that just to g
fail Initiation! The Grimm weren't even as scary as that after all!
At some point he must've gone in a cave because currently he was running from a freaking Giant Scorpion!... Still not as scary as Ms. Gelé but this thing clearly wanted to kill him.
Aura into his feet like he saw miss Gelé doing he managed to outpace it! Pyrrha said something bout not wasting his aura but frankly he still had a lot...
Like much of the rest of the day it all happened like a blur. Ruby and Weiss eating dirt from falling from the sky and giant bird getting added to the mix and something about chess pieces.
All he knew is that they needed to get outta there fast to pass and best of all not fight the two giant monsters. That was a plan he could get behind!
And he would've, should've and was sure as hell going to. Until the ginger girl beside him called out her partner's name. He turned and saw that Pyrrha and the brunette he could assume was Ren hadn't made it before the bridge collapsed.
Really it should've been a easy choice, they were strangers, he hadn't even known Pyrrha a hour. He owed them nothing and the finish line was right there! Yep, it was a easy choice, one he didn't even need to think about... Dammit.
Pumping aura in his legs he leaped out towards them. After all what kinda person wouldn't rush in to help others? Not him that's for sure.
Exhausted, tired and only mentally there by a fraction his mind worked overtime. Instincts were in the front seat. And so he listened to them.
He knew there was no way he could tear through the things armor... At least, not with what he knew how to do. But there was something?
pumping aura into his arm he tanked a sting with his shield, the attack denting his heirloom's mechanism shifting sheath but somehow managed to feat of strength to not have his poise broken from the blow.
The Grimm's carapace was thick, to thick for a sword like his... But maybe if he stole another one of miss Bleiss's moves?
She'd been so nimble and quick during the fight, pushing aura into her legs as she explain it while beating him.
It was where he got the idea of doing it, though he had the feeling he wasn't nearly as good at it as she was. But despite how petite she was her blows were heavy... Because she put aura on the blade, heck she even swung it once and sent the energy flying.
It was that which he inspired to copy in that moment.
Pushing all the energy he could into his sword, desperation and determination were powerful motivators.
and from them he managed to once more repeat the technique Bleiss had preformed before him like her aura reinforcement.
All his aura surging out in a arc of violent energy, that cleaved into and through one of the Deathstalker's claws.
His aura shattered, he was out and now the thing was glaring at him, oh he was scared but he had three people with him. All of which seemed more worried about his auraless state then even he was. It reassured him, didn't seem like they'd run for it.
Which meant he had a chance. After all, this Grimm wasn't nearly as fast a attacker as Ms. Gelé, and Jaune had learned last night just how much being light on his feet could help.
He smiled, a crooked, sure toothy grin it's way, finding himself terrified but also excited to kill his first monster.

While they were sure Team RWBY would be the focus of their students for the staff the group their eyes were on were JNPR. And for once it wasn't because of miss Nikos.
No the reason was the blonde dancing around and avoiding the Death Stalker's strikes.
Who knew it was targeting him but didn't turn tell to run despite having no aura but instead kept it's attention so the others could wear it down.
"A Fucking Mazing..." Glynda felt a chill run up her spine as she turned to look at her partner. And what she saw terrified her.
Bleiss was unashamedly looking hungrily at the Arc.
"One fuckinh night with aura and he manages this..." Her lip bled she was biting it so hard. Wait, did she say a night with aura!? Didn't that imply he didn't have it before.
Surely not, he used aura reinforcement on his legs several times and even swung a aura Arc. Those were advance techniques, techniques her partner knew... Technique that look utterly and completely unrefined and raw being performed by the Arc as if he'd never used...
She had to do a double take, but, but he was so nimble on his feet?
"Heheh, Hahaha! He can't beat that thing in strength but if he can dodge me he can sure as hell dodge it!" That... Was true.
Actually he didn't look like he was dodging it so much as... Dancing around it's blows.
What was this, well at the least she knew one thing as Bleiss licked her lips.
She would have to keep a eye on the boy for his own sake from her partner.

RWBY Volume 9 "Epilogue" Thoughts

So, here it comes an extra volume 9 animatic "epilogue" and I wanted to share some thoughts and a brief analysis.
General Thoughts
I really really liked it!
I am happy the Atlas refugees are having problems to adapt and that the Schnee Family has to face their privilege head on
It not being included in volume 9 works better for me because its contents can easily be re-arranged at the beginning of volume 10. In my opinion the story flows better this way (only my 2 cents though)
I am neutral to Raven's appearance.
On the one hand I hope the conflict between her and Yang is not solved too easily (I also think Yang hiding the Spring Maiden identity should be addressed). On the other hand her appearing at the beginning of the new story arc solves several things. She can make progress early on, so that the focus can then be given to other characters. Moreover, she can reveal what happened between her and Summer. If this mystery is solved, then there is more time to focus on Summer's return (either as a Grimm, a human or in some kind of symbolic way). In short, it can all lead to very thight writing, so I approve.
As for people wondering if the story was changed since RWBYJ leave the Ever After on their own... we can't say, but personally I never felt Raven saving them from the Ever After really worked thematically and I don't think it is what the epilogue implies. After all, before the video they say they deleted some scenes which tie with volume 10 plot. I think RWBYJ's meeting with Raven is one of these. Nonetheless, I am happy if we get our "Spring leading to Summer" symbolism. (Which really works on multiple levels doesn't it?)
In any case, I think Raven simply senses Yang is back and goes to meet her. Then she leads them all to Qrow. This in itself is a significant improvement for her. Still, it makes sense if Raven thought Yang was really dead. It can work as a final callout and a consequence of her actions. Yang outright asks Raven to choose between herself and her daughter and Raven makes the selfish choice. As a result, Yang dies. It is no surprise then that Yang coming back is seen by Raven as a final chance to do the right thing.
Speaking of people dealing with grief and loss, here we come to the heart of the new content and the focus of this short analysis.
Winter and Qrow - Grief
So, the heart of the video is really the foiling between Winter and Qrow. This is interesting in itself because these 2 characters are tied together since their first appearance in volume 3:
Qrow is Ruby's mentor
Winter is Weiss's mentor
Both girls look up to them and try to imitate them. Still, this changes with time as both Ruby and Weiss grow until they are able to inspire Qrow and Winter back.
Here, we see exactly this, as both Winter and Qrow talk to the two girls in their minds (Qrow is talking to all of them, but the foiling is between Weiss and Ruby and thematically the focus is on Ruby anyway). Still, their thoughts are complete opposites.
On the one hand Winter focuses only on the problems and sees no beauty at all.
Winter: "But no amount of determination or hard work will change where we find ourselves now. What do you do when there is no hope left?"
On the other hand Qrow is conscious things are bad, but is full of hope.
Qrow: Call me crazy, but I am actually feeling a little optimistic about things. I figure... Don't get me wrong...It's bad. In fact it'd never been worse. And yet, you can still see the goodness in all things. Acts of kindness, people trying to atone for past wrongs.
This ties to their 2 different ways of mourning.
Winter: "You and your friends did all you could to save the world. You would be so disappointed in us. Maybe it's for the best you don't have to see this Weiss" > She is looking at the memorial monument, where it's written "Don't come back"
Qrow: "Things may be bad, but my biggest regret is that none of you are here to see the good that you started because you did start something." > He cries while looking at a picture of Ruby that says "Remember her message"
Winter thinks it is best that Weiss isn't there to see that everything was useless. Qrow instead wishes the kids were there to see that the world is changing. These behaviours aren't limited to Winter and Qrow's feelings over the protagonists, but they fit their reaction to another important loss they both faced:
Penny and Clover's deaths have similar roles in Winter and Qrow's stories, as they are supposed to integrate with their lost loved ones. This is conveyed also through their respective powers:
Winter inherits the Winter Maiden's power by Penny and Qrow's semblance evolves to become similar to Clover's. This shows Qrow has successfully integrated Clover's mentality into his own:
Qrow: Like an oasis in a desert, it's all a matter of perspective. You see, an old friend taught me that.
The same can't be said about Winter:
Penny: "I won't be gone, I'll be part of you."
Winter: "Because of me, Penny is gone. Forever."
As Penny herself states in her final goodbye, she isn't really "gone", as her legacy lives up in Winter. This means Winter should honor her will and adopt Penny's optimistic mindset. Still, Winter is doing the opposite. This is why she feels Penny is really gone forever.
In other words, Winter has understood rationally what a real Maiden should be like:
Winter: No, Penny. You were always the real Maiden at heart.
However, she still doesn't feel it in her heart. This is why probably she needs Weiss to finish her arc:
After all, Weiss is supposed to be Winter's second Gerda, which takes out the final cursed glass fragment from Winter's heart.
Qrow is instead close to the end of his arc, in my opinion. As a matter of fact he has already been inspired by Ruby:
I think he only needs a top off, which will probably come with a final showdown with Tyrian, which will not be about revenge, but rather to save someone (probably Mercury).
What's important is that these 2 characters explore the theme of grief in opposite ways.
Ruby: I… I thought this was lost forever. How’d you have it?
Blacksmith: Nothing. No one is ever truly lost.
Qrow understands the meaning of the Blacksmith's words, whereas Winter doesn't. The Blacksmith conveys to Ruby that all the people she lost are still parts of her. This is why she keeps finding Penny's sword over and over. It is because the hope Ruby saw in Penny is really just a part of Ruby herself:
Jinxy: Enough hope to fill this jar.
Ruby fights a Nevermore (grief) by using Penny's sword (hope).
Similarly, Qrow's sense of belonging and his wish to do good don't go away with Clover's death. If anything they are parts of Qrow that Clover made emerge. Thanks to the Lucky Fisherman, Qrow has now the right framework to show them to the world.
Winter too has in herself the heart to be a Maiden like Penny. She too has one of Penny's swords inside. She is just not looking at it out of self-hate and guilt. Luckily she is now surrounded by people who love her and they will hopefully help her take a closer look at the mirror.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
First of all this goes for every single one of them and my individual answers might overlap with this we’ll see. I love how much they’ve all grown and persevered! They’ve been through so fucking much both together as a team and separately and have come out on the other side of it. They were kids!! They made bunk beds and had food fights and were starting to figure out the types of people they wanted to be and then got thrust into Remnant’s Worst Divorce™️ and throughout all of it have only grown closer as a team (not friends family!!) and still have hope that they can make the world a better place (Keep moving forward!!!) (They all need therapy tho fr)
Ruby: she’s perfect just the way she is!! This is supposed to be about the canon things I love about these character but god do I want Ruby to see herself as an individual separate from Summer. I think she’s getting there after her talk with the blacksmith. She’s just so accepting of people without hesitation. Penny is a robot? Don’t care new best friend. Little is a talking mouse? Don’t care new best friend pt 2. I’m sure there’s other examples but she’s always so ready to just let people be who they are and I wish she’d give herself that same grace

Also I love that she’s canonically a fairly well known (at least in atlas) singer. Also Jacques made her sing and she was like alright bet and then roasted him in song on stage in front of all those people and we don’t talk about that enough I think
Blake: I say that’s my baby and I’m really proud
Blake tells Sun she joined the white fang 5 years ago in v2. She was TWELVE she was a BABY!! If I had to give Blake a word the way she gives others a word it would be conviction. She never gives up on what she believes in. And she does her best to support others in doing the same, in v7 she tried to encourage ironwood and in v9 she tried to encourage Ruby poor girl got shut down both times but she tried!!
I also love how Blake is canonically a good artist and would like to see more of that. crwby show us a drawing Blake made of Yang

Yang: this girl can fit so much love in her god. She goes to any and every length to protect the people she loves even if it’s to her own detriment (which someone really needs to have a conversation with her about) the Yellow Trailer tells us straight away that there’s more to her than meets the eye and yet there are people who fell into that trap anyway and criticize her character for “not being fun anymore” as if that isn’t the point!!
She’s so confident and cocky until a pretty girl Blake flirts with her I love the disaster lesbian representation.
She punched god in the tiddies!!! And she’d do it again I bet! Maybe we’ll see her punch one or both of the Brothers next I’d like that

RWBY fans will be like "RWBY is so progressive," and then go on to say things like "Isn't it great that the white racist billionaire CEO who married into the family and therefore didn't possess the passed on through blood magical powers and actually had naturally black hair instead of naturally white hair was treated like he didn't matter and wasn't a real threat?" and "The actual descendants of the celebrated hero Nicholas Schnee who started the whole Schnee fortune and originated the whole 'SDC drains Vacuo of resources while building itself into the fabric of society' thing rightfully wish to break away from Jacques the usurper and go back to old Nick Schnee's ways." And "Weiss wishes to reclaim her family name since she's a real Schnee and would be a good billionaire. Weiss wasn't always perfect because she was horribly anti-Faunus to our two main faunus characters, but she's still best girl because she graciously forgives Blake for having once been part of a civil rights group and later on a dime decides to start doing things like standing up for Blake when she's being discriminated against and apologizing for her ancestors - why would she apologize for her own past actions? That was like, so many volumes ago!" And "Weiss educated herself and deconstructed her anti-faunus beliefs somewhere along the way off-screen because why would that have to be shown?" And "See, Weiss wants to change the image of the SDC that her father created, she vaguely speaks of his 'moral gray area,' and we know she wants to make things like they were with her capitalist hero grandfather and isn't it so fun that he's based off of Santa?" And "Weiss was devastated when her father said she won't get to become a billionaire CEO herself, but it's okay because we know she was really meant to be a badge carrying law enforcement officer like her older sister who shares her hereditary semblance." And "Ironwood squeezed Mantle until it broke, Jacques and the SDC and Nicholas Schnee had nothing to do with it. All those problems with Mantle were because of Ironwood alone. Weren't you all listening to Winter when she said that?" And "Weiss and her family sadly lost their fortune, but it's okay because Weiss gives a speech about how she knows her true purpose as a badge carrying law enforcement officer, defined by the good they do and how they always help people - What's that? Copaganda? No, no, see Hunters are good badge carrying law enforcement officers because they answer to no one."
Like???? Where's that picture about how the propaganda in media does wonders on people? Anyways, the propaganda in media does wonders on some of you RWBY fans. Like, I like Weiss a lot as a character concept, but please I am begging y'all to see past her princess look and angel wings - or actually, think about why she has a princess look and angelic imagery - and realize that maybe Rooster Teeth Inc former higher up Miles "reportedly said the n word as like a twenty six year old" Luna might've fucked up the dang show.

Pyrrha was frustrated, and tired. Her dreams of escaping her fame by enrolling in Beacon, a literal continent from her home... had proved futile. She was still held up to impossible standards by those who didn't know her. She was constantly held at arm's length, by everyone who wasn't trying to worm their way into her good graces.
Beacon had turned into exactly what she had feared Haven would be. Surrounded by people who didn't see her, and only the image of the "Invincible Girl". Those who she wished she could be friends with, shied away from her. Her reputation causing them to decide they weren't worthy of her time.
Those were the ones that really hurt her. Ruby Rose... an energetic, talented prodigy, entering Beacon two years early, yet the young woman was always anxious and nervous whenever Pyrrha was near. It was like she was afraid to do something wrong in Pyrrha's presence.
Then there were the ones like Weiss Schnee... self-righteous snobs that only saw value in those they could make use of. Pyrrha was glad she dodged being that girl's partner. As much as she wanted one... to be teamed with someone like that would have been torture... and Pyrrha was pretty certain it would have ended with a justifiable homicide.
Choosing not to participate in the spectacle that all her trips to the training rooms became, she instead decided to spend some time exploring Beacon's world renown library. It was said to hold some of the oldest manuscripts in all Remnant, and seeing as she had time on her hands... why not go looking for something interesting. It was not like she had anyone to talk to back in her dorm room anyway.
Taking the long route, she worked her way around campus, before finally slipping inside the library unnoticed by any of her peers.
"So what I'm looking for should be in the stacks, I would think." Pyrrha muttered to herself as she moved towards the back of the expansive room. "And the stacks are in the basement, which is right... here."
Pushing down the lever handle for the door, she opened it and stepped onto the landing just inside the door. The light was dim, but Pyrrha didn’t really care. She had her scroll on her so if she needed more light she could always use the flashlight function. Letting the door close behind her, she descended the steps.
The fluorescent lighting flickered and ticked, as she slowly started to just explore. There seemed to be endless rows of shelves upon shelves. Years of undisturbed dust coating everything. Her fingers traced along well aged leather bindings, leaving smudges in the dust.
“No one's been down here… in years, maybe even decades.” Pyrrha commented as she continued her aimless wandering.
Time ticked by slowly as the red-headed combat prodigy moved further and further into the poorly lit rows of shelved and forgotten tomes.
“I wonder if I can find some old treatises on ancient Mistrailian combat?” she asked no one, as she stopped at the end of one of the rows and tried to decipher the faded label, unable to decipher the number system, she reached into her pocket for her scroll. “I guess I should just… no signal? How is there no signal?”

And we're back for V4! Honestly, I'm making it through more than I thought I would. I was sure I was gonna bail after 2 lol.
Anyways, the new engine was really a breath of fresh air for this volume, and it's impressive how much animation is still getting better every volume<3 RWBY makes me proud in a way no other show or just thing has ever done. I just wish it wouldn't hurt so bad lol.
Anyways, time for random thoughts!
I gotta go ahead and say that V4-6 is my favorite outfit for Blake. The pirate vibes on her are *chef kiss* and I'm just in love with her white coat RIP the coat, another good thing Adam ruined *sighs*
God, the yearning separated bees are so angsty <3 I love it, the payoff will be so great.
God, Sun was so annoying this volume, poor boy has a good heart but definitely is too eager for Blake to match him and things get aaaaaawkward lol I'm happy the managed to get into an understanding by next volume tho, Blake needed him, I can see that now.
It's so interesting to hear all the bits of story we get to learn each volume and how eventually it all falls apart with Jinn's story in v6. I don't blame Qrow for how hard he took it, poor man has been through a lot, and he really believed in Ozpin through it all.
I loooove the tale of the two brother's animation style<3 it's one of my favorite parts of the season.
The ship captain is another favorite part lol I don't know, I just think he's neat. Wouldn't be opposed yo seeing more of him.
Ilia <3 Love of my life, best lesbian Chameleon girl <3 good how I miss you!
Again, when is Ilia coming back so she can finally meet and fall in love with Weiss?? RT is homofobic to keep these two apart! /Jk
But seriously they are fuckin' perfect for eachother I won't get tired of saying it. Schnee x Faunus? Both sides of the Atlas/Mantle coin? Rainbow x white? Trying to live their families legacy without letting it consume them? What's not to like?
Ahem, anyways. The Kuroyuri arc had me biting my freaking nails. Seriously after v3 I was so sure someone was going to die!
Remember that couple days we were all terrified of the nuckelavee and then someone compared it to the wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tubeman and since then we just laugh about him? Lol this Is why I love this fandom.

I can't imagine how horrible it was for the girls all that time we didn't get to see in between volumes. Weiss being completely alone in Atlas, with no way to know if Yang and Ruby had gotten better, just knowing that Blake had ran into the night. Blake wondering everyday if Yang was thinking about her, so sure that she was hated, heating herself too much to ask for help or just company... Ruby missing the friends she had come to trust so wholeheartedly and seeing her big sister broken and depressed and not knowing what to do because Yang had never been nothing but bright and strong and perfect. Yang looking at books and thinking of Blake and wanting to hate her because it would be so much easier. And that's not even counting all of them mourning Pyrrha and Penny and everything they lost in the blink of an eye.
On that note, Ruby's outfit for this arc paying homage to both Penny and Pyrrha still hurts me so much</3 this is also probably my favorite outfit of her, thought her Atlas outfit is quite good too.
The moment we learn that Blake is practically a Princess lol I love it, I love seeing reactors get to that part.
But honestly my favorite part to see reactors will always be Taiyang's 'lost a couple braincells along with that arm' joke lol honestly I hate that joke, but the sheet shock on everyone's faces is just epic lol.
Honestly I feel I've slept on Yang's v4 outfit btw. Yeah, her final/v5-6 outfit is extremely badass and I love it, but the sweats + orange tanktop looks so good on her??? Honestly this was the first volume I looked at Yang and was atracted to her lol.
So yeah Yang please join the line of women who could step on me and I'd thank them.
Also: *puts Ilia there too*
Specially once she paints her arm yellow <3 I stan by my previous statement that Yang looks so much better with her new arm. It feels like her design is finally complete.
V4 villains really, really make me miss v1-3 villains lol. I'm sorry, but I just think Hazel and Watts are unninteresting (aside from the Emm-Hazel plot but I only like it because Emmerald) and while I find Tyrian kinda funny because he's an obvious theater kid lol it was not enough to put team WTCH in my good graces after getting rid of my two faves from team CRMNE lol. Also, Cinder being too hurt to cause chaos was a negative</3 I loved sassy overconfident world destroyer Cinder.
It is also extremely painful for me to watch Cinder slowly dig her own grave after seeing her backstory. I always had a soft spot for Cinder and that really made it worse.
Baby Nora and Ren<3 good they were cute! And god did the timeskip did them good lol this is also my favorite Nora outfit <3 she looks amazing.
That moment in Kuroyuri when baby Ren gives Nora the hammer while boop play in the background? I tear up every fucking time. It's literally imposible not to love them together, just as It was literally imposible for Nora to not fall for him <3 my babies
Qrow being bandaged over his clothes while injures will never not be funny to me lol oh, the joys of working with 3D models!
Weiss learning to summon <3 also just... Weiss <3 She's the best. This volume wasn't kind on her, but she rose to the challenge and got so far!!
Also, can I just say that I feel Whitley... Is what people thinks Draco Malfoy Is? Like... I always remembered Draco while watching Whitley, but Whitley is an actually cool character as you get to know him, while Draco just... disapointed me. He's also my baby and I demand him to be protected.
Seeing Raven oficially was one of my favorite parts of the volume <3 She's a bitch, she's the worst, I love her so much!!!!
Again with the controversial and refuted headcanon... Qrow getting a song that includes the line 'you don't want the burden of my name', talking to Ruby about how his semblance makes things hard on family... That delirious 'Tai, she's not coming back' while poisoned... Seriously it would've made so much sence if Ruby was his daughter lol. At this point it's just hilarious.
The Jaune - Ruby moment in Kuroyuri </3 seriously give these poor kids therapy, they need it.
This Is the only volume where I actually have a score saved on my Spotify playlist: the first part of The next step where you can hear the music box version of Divide. I would pay for a full of that song <3 I adore creepy music box covers.
The way Blake's voice breaks when she finally says Yang's name? I'm ok, I swear! I'm not.
If you didn't cry during Ruby's letter scene... You're lying!! It's not possible to not cry! Specially with Home in the background. Home is another special song to me, it was one of the first ones I memorised back when my english wasn't great <3
That part when Ruby talks about people who are still lost and people who wants to take advantage of them and it shows Ilia with the Albains? I loved it, that's why I never doubted of my girl<3
And so it became the long journey to have Winter back... I remember how annoyed I was during all of v4-5 that we never got to see her outside of the Weiss trailer lol you don't just introduce a character like Winter for two episodes and then take it away like that RT! I say, as if I didn't knew v5 at all lol
I'm still curious about Tyrian and the fact that he apparently couldn't fight while Qrow didn't have his Sword/Scythe? Did we ever got a reason for that yet?
I think that's all that comes to mind right now lol also, I watched the v5 trailers and I just had to say how much I love them <3 Blake's probably my favorite, but they were all great!
O better keep watching now lol I gotta watch as much as I can before saturday!

Nine Days of Lancaster
[Day 9: Dance]
In the midst of uncertainty and the fallout of an election, Jacques Schnee has sent invitations to a party. None the wiser, Jaune has only recently returned to the academy and is looking for his friends.
Jaune:Ruby? Hello? Where is everyone one? *opens door* Ru- Ruby?
The girl is startled, hoping up from her chair. Her scroll projected a giant screen that played ballroom dance videos, which Jaune found more than a little odd.
Jaune:Uhhh taking up a hobby?
Ruby:Hardly. Weiss’s dad as invited the General to a party to celebrate his win. It’s mainly to try and kick Ironwood off the council. It’s an all hands on deck kind of situation.
Jaune:Okay. Still not really getting all of…this.
Ruby:Unfortunately, we were told that it would be in our best interest to “mingle” and “work the room.” Apparently standing guard doesn’t give off the appropriate impression.
Jaune:Ah, socializing, your worst fear
Ruby:Untrue! Besides it’s not like you’re exactly a pro at it.
Jaune:Fair, but I don’t need to prepare by watching waltzing tutorials.
Ruby:*red* Anything could happen! I could standing near a punch bowl when some random stranger asks for a dance, catching me off guard and ends with hurt feet and punch on the dance floor!
Jaune:That moment at the dance seems to be more traumatic for you then the chance encounter with Cinder that same night.
Ruby:I fear no battleground but a dance floor.
Jaune:Hate to break it to ya. Those videos are not gonna help. You just need to learn basic steps with an actual partner. Fortunately for you, I’m pretty confident in my skills.
Ruby:That’s what they all say before I step on your feet.
Jaune:Hehe, nothing I can’t handle.
He closed the door behind him and moved all the chairs out of the way. Jaune grabbed Ruby’s scroll to switch her tutorials to classic music then stood before her, hand out.
Ruby took his hand easy enough then let out a gasp as he suddenly got very close. Less than an inch between them. His left moved to her lower back, putting just enough pressure on it; while his right hand had a gentle yet for grip. Has Jaune always been this tall? Ruby didn’t remember having to look up into his before.
Jaune:I’ll lead.
Ruby:O…kay~
For some reason, Ruby started getting nervous. Slowly, he leaned to the right, taking a step for her to follow. Step by step he telegraphed his movements for her to read, gradually picking up the pace as she caught on.
Jaune:See? You’re getting it.
Ruby:Beginners luck.
Jaune:Even so, there’s never been anything you couldn’t do when you put your mind to it. Just think of this as another team attack.
Ruby:Hehe, not sure how enemies would feel if I yelled “ladybug” and then busted out into a dance.

Ruby felt Jaune’s hand brace her back more. He suddenly began to lean her way while holding her close. Ruby nearly panicked but managed to keep herself together as Jaune led her into a dip. Ruby looked over her shoulder to see just how low she had gotten then was treated with a surprise when she turned back around. Right above her face was the smiling knight, gazing right at her with the same friendly eyes he first greeted her with. Ruby felt her heart nearly stop, and her cheeks go red.
Jaune:How about Lancaster?
Ruby:S-Sure. I…I really like that name.
Jaune:Lancaster it is.
He brought her back up slowly as the song began to end. To Ruby’s shock, she was a bit saddened by both his hands finally let her go. The Reaper rubbed her head sheepishly while Jaune grabbed her scroll for her.
Jaune:I think you got this. It’s you after all.
Ruby:Thanks. Umm that was fun, surprisingly.
Jaune:Sometimes what makes a dance is the right partner. Anyways, I should really go find Ren, Nora, and Oscar. Talk to you in a little bit?
Ruby:Yeah, of course.
Jaune:*walking out*
Ruby:….Wait!
Jaune:Hmm?
Ruby:Umm, oh you know. I was just thinking…depending on how things go, maybe we can share a proper dance together?
Jaune:*smiles* I’d like that. Let’s do it.
Ruby:Cool. Uh, bye~
Jaune:Later Ruby. *closes door*
She sorta just…stood there for a moment. Ruby slowly took in a deep breath before letting it out even slower. The girl held her face, feeling the heat coming from it. Since when did dancing feel like that!? Jaune’s words echoed in her head. “The right partner.” Sounds like a line pulled right out of a fairytale. Then again, those were always her favorite stories.
Ruby: C’mon me, there’s bigger things to think about right now.

RWBY Ice Queendom Reaction
I’m not sure what time the episodes dropped but it was somewhere in the early morning in my timezone and I am not a morning person, so I put off watching until after dinner when I was sure I’d have no distractions. Before I go through my reactions and thoughts, I just wanted to say a few things.
First, I will admit, watching with Japanese VAs and English subtitles is not ideal for me. I’ll manage especially since there is no definitive timeline for the English dub’s release.
Second, I’m just going to say it right now as advanced warning, Weiss is my favourite and I adore her. So much so that even at her worst I tend to play devil’s advocate in her defence. Anyway, I’ve naturally been absolutely thrilled that Ice Queendom will be focusing on her and for the most part I am happy with what they’ve done with this version of her from early in the show.
Episode 1 “Red, White, Black, Yellow”
When I first watched the show, I did not see the trailers. Since no one talked me into watching, I had no reason to believe a trailer would show anything not part of the actual show. In saying that, I’m glad that IQ used the first episode to do an introduction for all the girls and provide relevant scenes from the White and Black trailer new viewers could easily miss.
Continuing with that thought, providing further context for Weiss’ fight with the Arma Gigas was also a huge bonus. I only learned that fight was a test from RWBY wiki, and again not everyone would go the extra mile to get that extra context.
Bringing the other Schnee’s into the scene is also good for giving glimpses into what the family dynamics are like so that audience can start to understand her before her early attitude towards Ruby and Blake put them off.
As for Klein, he is worthy of inclusion, but I was disappointed to see he was not as animated as he is in the main show. Not to mention the lack of his switching personalities means that everything that makes the character enjoyable to watch is missing. All that aside, I’m glad they included the scene with him sending Weiss off. Klein sees the best in Weiss, he is probably the first and at this moment perhaps the only person to see into her heart and know what a genuinely great person she will eventually be.
Also, name-dropping Nicholas Schnee was a good call, as something that I don’t think was properly explained in the show was why the Schnee name and SDC meant so much to Weiss as it explains some of the motivations and reason for her goals and viewpoints.
Speaking of including the family early, nice to see Tai and Zwei included as well, after all if you have the budget and time there’s no reason not to. And once again, setting up the early dynamic between Yang and Ruby, in particular. Establishing Ruby’s clinginess to Yang as a problem was a great way to encourage Yang to help Ruby make new friends. Better than having her just run off with her own faceless, nameless “friends” whose existence is never acknowledged again.
Another noteworthy improvement actually concerns Adam of all people. First, is making it perfectly clear that Adam had zero issues taking humans lives, even if they were just lowly workers who have no say on their employer’s policies. Second part, is making it clear right off the bat that Adam let Blake go in the beginning. Sure, we learned that tidbit in the Volume 3 flashbacks, but it’s easy for the information to slip unnoticed or be forgotten when that was not the focus of the scene. Sure, her leaving stung him, but he had other priorities.
Not surprised Cinder isn’t shown, since IQ won’t be following the plot of the main show and she has no connection to the main cast, it’s better to just tease her appearance. New audiences don’t need to know who she is or what she can do but if they are curious to see more they know where to find it.
As for the action scenes, I enjoyed them. I was a little distracted whenever I realised I had subtitles to read, though. And it was a good way to show off what Ruby, Weiss and Blake are capable of.
Now, as for Yang, she doesn’t get a fight scene, and there’s honestly no place for one. The fight in the Yellow trailer might be awesome viewing, but the whole thing was stupid and pointless and honestly just makes Yang look bad if you actually think about it. Plus, Junior does not contribute anything to the show, even in Roman Holiday he merely exists, not doing anything relevant. No point including him in IQ.
I’m going to take a break before I continue, otherwise this will get too long, and it’s already getting late again.

RWBY x YJ: Across Earths - Introductions Preview
"Okay, I think we all got in the wrong foot here. Let me get this straight, you guys are from a realm called Remnant, an evil scientists was the one sending monsters coming out of this goop. And you...hunters are trying to track him down to stop him?" Robin asked standing in front of his team asking Ruby and her friends some questions. The huntsmen students.
"That pretty much sums it up." Said Blake.
"Forgive us for the misunderstanding. I am Lie Ren of the Ren Clan, but you can call me Ren. We are students from Beacon Academy. Except for Team SSSN. They went to Haven Academy." Ren explained. "We are trained to become the next generation of huntsmen and huntresses."
"By the gods! New brothers and sisters in arms to join the fight and slay those Grimm!" Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) exclaimed in excitement. Raising the sword out in joy.
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's just introduce ourselves before we get started." Aqualad instructed.
"Oh, so you guys are like monster hunters! That explains the cool weapons and flashy outfits!" Kid Flash explained in excitement.
"Um, I'm Pyrrha Nikos." Pyrrha shook Artemis' hand in a greeting. Artemis shook back. "Artemis, nice to meet you too. Then Nora butts in and shook Artemis' hand rapidly.
"Nora Valkyrie! Welcome to the team, new besties!" Nora greeted. She can welcome anyone new if not an enemy.
"I'm Sun, and this here is my best bud, Neptune. Robin and Kid Flash already met us and already we are cool." The four made first bumps. They already met and got along well after the dimensions were mixed up.
"Yang Xiao Long. Thanks for keeping my sister safe, big guy." Yang winked at Superboy, who flinched at the expression. Even if it was just a joke from Yang, Miss Martian was not pleased, and a little jealous as well. But thankfully, Superboy reject those advances, but Yang took it lightly.
"And this is our fearless leader, Jaune!" Nora squeezed Jaune with her arm wrapped around him. "N-nice to meet ya...Nora...ack...please let me go." Jaune wheezed. Nora then realized she was about to squeeze the life out of him, then lets him go. "Whoops, sorry."
"I think you're forgetting Ruby and Sun are also leaders." Weiss said.
"Anyway, I am Ruby Rose, leader of Team RWBY!" Jaun is leader of JNPR, and Sun is leader of Team SSSN!" Ruby sped around to introduce her friends to new allies.
Miss Martian then took a thought about names of teams and put two and two together. "Oh, I get it! Those names were acronyms to the letters of your names! It's actually great!" Nora then notices Miss Martian floating and figured she is an alien. "Ah! Are you an alien? I wanna be friends with an alien! Take me to your leader!" Nora hugged Miss Martian as a friendly gesture. Before Ren pulled her back.
"Sorry about, Nora. She can get extra friendly to anyone new." Ren apologized.
"Scarlet David. And don't let Sun give you any ideas. Let me tell ya, he's a wrecking ball." Scarlet grunted introduced himself before putting a ride remark. "Hey!" Yelled Sun.
"Was he always like this?" Asked Aqualad. "Ignore him, he's just a bit bossy sometimes." Sun remarked back. Making Scarlet turned red in embarrassment.
"I am Weiss Schnee, heiress of the-!" She was cut off by Sun.
"No one cares of your status, Weiss."
"Hey! At least let me get a proper introduction!" Weiss yelled at Sun, scaring Robin, Kid Flash, Miss Martian and Superboy.
She's more scarier than Scarecrow.
The four said in their own minds before Sun whispered in their ears. "If it makes you feel any better, she is sometimes called Ice Queen." The four heard that and held back their laughter, but Weiss heard that.
"I heard that!"
"Sage Ayana, it's a pleasure." Sage said.
"And some of you don't know me but I am Neptune." Neptune tried to look cool flicking his hair. Artemis did not seemed to be affected as his smile is too bright that it was blinding her eyes. "Why is he too bright? He's even more dumber than Kid Flash." Artemis whispered to Superboy, covering her eyes.
"Hey!" Kid Flash and Neptune shouted.
"Blake Belladonna, you could say I was a former enemy of the lands before enrolling into Beacon." Blake stated, making the others confused. "Okay..." Zatanna nodded, still confused. Kid Flash wonder if Blake was some sort of kunoichi judging by her sword skills.
She's like one of those kunoichi in the video games.
"Well, with that out of the way. I'm Robin and this is our team. That's our leader, Aqualad. Artemis, Superboy, Miss Martian, Zatanna and-" Robin was cut off when Kid Flash uses superspeed and zips passed Ruby, Blake, Pyrrha, Nora, Yang, and Weiss, The girls opened their eyes to see roses in their hands, surprised. And blinked in shock.
"Kid Flash, an honor, ladies. Consider this as a gesture of gratitude to meet ya." Kid Flash winked, making the six student huntresses confused, and his flirting did not seem to affect them either, and Sun could see why Kid Flash reminds him of Neptune.
"Ignore him, he's sometime like this with female comrades." Robin then looked at Kid Flash before turning back. "Yeah, he's dumb." He said.
"Hey!" Nora then looked at Zatanna and giddy with excitement. And ran up to her. "No way! Are you Zatanna!" Zatanna is astonished that Nora knew her name despite being from another realm. "Um, yes. How did you know who I am?"
"Are you kidding me?! I have seen your poster as the world's greatest magician! Quick question, is your magic real?! Cause I love magic!" Nora asked. Zatanna couldn't help but want to demonstrate her magic. "Well, not exactly the world's greatest. But let me show you. Sevod emoc tuo fo ym eveels!" Zatanna chanted her spell to make doves appear flying out of her sleeve. Nora clapped her hands.
The other huntsmen students were amazed to see that magic trick. "That magic is real?! Amazing?!" Ruby squealed.
"Bloody-" Scarlet jaw dropped seeing this. Then they heard Cardin running away from the doves Zatanna summoned as they attacked him. "Ow, hey! Cut it out! Help! Doves are attacking me!" The heroes turned to see that happening.
"Whoops, I think I overdid it." Nora and Sun on the other hand saw it, and seemed to be amused at Cardin getting a taste of his own medicine.
"Should we help him?" Jaune asked. Despite Cardin being a bully, Jaune felt bad for him.
"Let him bloody have it. I think we are all gonna get along just fine." Scarlet said with a grin. Robin and Kid Flash started laughing at the scene and took out their phones to record a video of it. "Good one, Z! This is gonna go viral!" Robin said.

tragic backtory (tm) au) the legend of jaune arc grows, slowly bringing more and more people into it, but when his little sister and overdramatic theater kid come for a visit, well apparently jaune's sword is magic now, and he's a master thief. he of course picked this time to learn the aura slash on his own time and now pyrrha is starting to believe there might be more to jaune than even she knew!
other stories include, jaune's lost love. his wife via arranged marriage who died tragically (tm) of a broken heart after he left her for his quest for justice. and how he's part of a secret order devoted to protecting the silver eyed warriors
Ruby: "of course! that's why he was so nice to me and just walked up to me out of nowhere!"
violet: "he's also supposed to marry you to make sure your magic eyes are passed down to the next generation"
... what? a little sister can't rig the game for her favorite ship? ruby's cute and she wants her as a sister in law. besides who ever heard about magic eyes?
Double Trouble
Jaune sat in the lounge while his sisters, Violet and Indigo, sat on either side talking about their trip. Jaune nodded along as they explained their flight, the status of home, and ended by asking how his time at Beacon had been. Before he could answer, however, someone else spoke for him.
Nora: Jaune is the best!
Violet: Ooh! Who is this, Jaune? Your girlfriend?
Nora: Pft! He wishes!
Indigo: Oh, I like you!
Jaune: (Sighs) Nora, these are my sisters, Vi and Indie. Girls, this is Nora. She's on my team here at Beacon.
Nora: (Gasps) Jaune's sisters?! You have to tell me everything!
Jaune: Ugh, please, no...
Indigo: Oh, stop being such a cry-baby, Yawny. Nora, right? We can meet up later for all the juicy details.
Nora: Yes! I'll bring some friends, too!
Indigo: Hey, the more, the merrier, right?
Nora: (Runs off) I gotta get the girls!
Violet: It was nice meeting you! And the reason you two aren't dating is because...?
Jaune: Are you really going to play matchmaker right now?
Violet: The last one worked out just fine, didn't it?
Jaune: Amber literally cried when she found out her "secret admirer" was me. Mom had to get between me and her dad when he found out.
Violet: You were fine! You were young, and her dad was just overprotective.
Jaune: We were twelve, and her Dad just got out of prison.
Violet: Oh, you're exaggerating!
Ruby: (Walking behind them, Hearing everything)
Jaune: I'm not dying just so you can say you guys were right.
Violet: But think of the wedding! Wouldn't you like to be Jaune Oakwood-Arc?
Jaune: No! Especially if that means I'm marrying into a family that doesn't want me!
Ruby: (Gasps, Speeds away)
Indigo: Hm? What was that?
Jaune: (Looks behind) Oh, that was probably Ruby. Her semblance makes rose petals when she uses it.
Violet: Roses? (Gasps) Like the love flowers?! That's so romantic!
Jaune: Oh no...
Indigo: Anyways, while she's planning your wedding, tell me about why Nora wouldn't date you?
Jaune: Aside from it's me, Nora is already with somebody.
Indigo: So? Just because there's a goalie, it doesn't mean you can't score.
Jaune: (Covering his face) For the love of...
Ruby: (Barrels through the dorm room) Guys! We have an emergency!
Weiss: What is it? Torchwick?
Ruby: No! Worse!
Blake: White Fang?!
Ruby: Even worse!
Yang: Well, spit it out!
Ruby: Jaune's getting married!
Weiss: (WBY faceplant, Gets up) You dolt! You said it was an emergency!
Ruby: It is, though! His sisters are here and they're trying to force him to marry someone he doesn't love!
Weiss: A sacrifice I'm sure is for the greater good.
Yang: Hey, come on, Ice Queen, I'm sure whoever Jaune gets with will be one lucky lady.
Blake: Even if it's a Schnee.
Weiss: (Blushing) I would never-!
Blake: But you said his sisters are here? What do they look like?
Ruby: Well, I only saw the backs of their heads, but they were both blonde, and one of them had their hair tied back in a ponytail with a blue bow, and the other one was wearing a headband, also with a blue bow.
Yang: Older, younger?
Ruby: I couldn't tell, but they were talking like they're going to be the ones setting it up.
Blake: Probably older, then. Did you hear who he was marrying?
Ruby: Not really, but I heard them say, "Jaune Oakwood-Arc."
Yang: Wait, Oakwood? Like Chuck Oakwood?
Weiss: You know him?
Yang: Kind of. I remember reading in a motorcycle magazine about him going to jail. He used to harrass and assault people on the road with his gang. They called "The Biker Tyrant." I don't know why they would try to be setting Jaune up with anyone related to him, though.
Blake: Well, what if this girl they're arranging for him is trying to escape her family. If this Chuck is as violent as they say, and she's related to him, it's possible she's trying to live a peaceful life.
Ruby: But why would Jaune say no to helping her?
Weiss: Not to get involved in this game of spinning tales, but maybe he's connected to something higher, and the situation now is too delicate to get involved with now.
Yang: OH! The Biker-Kingdom!
Weiss: ...The what?
Yang: It's an international crime-ring of bikers. They have agents all over Remnant. I bet if Jaune married into one of their gangs, he could rise up to be a head-honcho!
Weiss: (Laughs) Stop! Stop! Do you hear yourself? Arc, the Jaune Arc, becomes a gang-leader of a bunch of bikers! Can you even imagine him, black biker jacket, chains strewn about his shoulders, a helmet under his arms?!
Ruby: (Blushing) I mean, I can...
Jaune: Guys, these are my sisters, Violet and Indigo. You've already met Nora.
Nora: Hi!
Jaune: This is Ren, Nora's partner and also on my team.
Ren: Greetings.
Violet: (Whispers) This must be Nora's man.
Indigo: (Whispering) I can see why.
Jaune: This is Pyrrha, my partner.
Pyrrha: Hello!
Indigo: Wait, isn't she from the cereal box?
Jaune: (Chuckles) Yeah, she is. Apparently, she was a champion over in Mistral.
Indigo: And she got stuck with you?
Jaune: Uh, I wouldnt put it like that-
Indigo: We are so sorry for our brother.
Violet: Really and truly sorry.
Pyrrha: Oh, um, it's okay. (Thinking) These are his sisters? Are all siblings like this?
Jaune: Anyways, this is Team RWBY, our neighbors and close friends... who decided to show up for some reason.
Ruby: We have so many questions!
Yang: Eheh, uh, what she means is that we had to meet you after hearing that Jaune's sisters were here.
Jaune: Right, because I'm such a fascinating subject.
Ruby: You are, though! (Everyone stares at her, She shrinks) Um... Hi, I'm Ruby Rose.
Violet: Oh, so you're the girl from earlier?
Ruby: Huh?
Indigo: Jaune told us about you after you left some petals on the ground.
Ruby: Oh, really? Hehe, my bad.
Violet: Oh, it's no trouble, no trouble! So, tell me, how do you feel about our brother?
Ruby: Huh?
Jaune: Vi! Seriously?!
Violet: What? I'm just trying to help you out here!
Weiss: With what, exactly?
Jaune: Oh, please, no...
Indigo: Our brother's so incompetent with girls, we decide to give him a hand.
Weiss: Such as arranged marriages?
Indigo: We don't go that far.
Violet: (Whispers) Because it never gets that far.
Weiss: Hm. Well, Arc, I think you should listen to your sisters more. Maybe then you would actually have some understanding of how romance works.
Violet: What do you mean?
Weiss: First, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Weiss Schnee, and your brother has been obnoxiously trying to get my attention for months now.
Violet: (Turns to Jaune, Wicked smile) Oh?
Indigo: (Turns to Jaune, Evil smile) Really?

Ruby: (Blushing, Gulps)
Jaune: Yes, they're fine, Mom. ...No, Mom, they're not sick. ...I really don't want to think about them like that, Mom. ...Fine, Mom, I'll make sure they don't get pregnant, even though half this school is full of guys too young for them. ...Mom, I really don't need to hear that from you. ...They're hanging out with my friends right now. ...They're all girls, Mom. Violet: So you think our brother is an orphan, sky-pirate slave, and we're trying to set him up with someone he doesn't love to benefit our status?
Nora: Well, not anymore. I mean, if you're his sisters, then that pretty much debunks the whole thing, huh?
Indigo: Oh, honey, (Places her hand on Nora's knee) there's so much more to it than that.
Everyone Else: HUH?!
Violet: Indie, what are you-?!
Indigo: It's time, Vi. (Looks to Violet, Stealthily winks) They should know the truth about who he really is.
Violet: ...You're right. Now, let's start with the truth. Jaune isn't an orphan. Not anymore anyways. He was adopted by our family, but we never treated him any different. He's still our baby brother.
Indigo: Technically, he's our cousin, but his parents died while he was young. His aunt and uncle, our parents, adopted him, training him in the ways of the sword when he was old enough.
Violet: That sword belonged to our uncle, but when Jaune used it, it revealed his position. (Tears up) We were so scared when the raid began to search for him! We tried to protect him, but they were unstoppable!
Indigo: Shshsh, there, there. (Snickers, Coughs to cover it up) We didn't see him again for years until he returned home one day, with her.
Violet: (Sighs dreamily) Scarlet. She was the sweetest woman you would have ever met. She helped him escape, and the two eloped shortly after. She trained him to fight without aura, and so he did for the longest time.
Indigo: But then illness took her too soon, and she was buried before that winter came. He never moved on from her. He doesn't even like to talk about her. But his heart would always be hers, and hers his.
Ren: Tragic.
Indigo: (Cough) tm (Cough).
Violet: On her final day, she said to him these words...
Scarlet: (Faceless, Dying in bed) Beloved, my dawn, my noon, my sunset, please do not weep for me. Though my body may perish, my soul shall ever be yours. In times of great peril, I will aid the swing of your blade, and you shall be safe, and find love once more.
Nora: (Sobs)
Ruby: (Bawls)
Pyrrha: (Cries)
Weiss: (Tears up)
Yang: (Grimaces)
Blake: So that's his story...
Ren: Truly tragic.
Indigo: (Cough) tm (Cough).
Jaune: I'm back! I hope everything- WOAH! Why is everyone crying?! Indie, what did you do?!
Indigo: Don't look at me, Jaune! They wanted to hear about you, so we told them everything they needed to know.
Jaune: How do you make people cry telling them about me?! You know what, I don't want to know. I'm taking you guys to your hotel room. Good night, guys. (Walks away with Indigo and Violet)
Ruby: He's so brave!
Nora: Such a brave boy!
Pyrrha: (Sniffs) The bravest boy.
Jaune: Hey, listen, I'm really sorry about my sisters. They can kind of be a handful.
Pyrrha: It's no problem at all, Jaune. After all, you can't choose your family.
Jaune: (Sighs) If only that was different.
Pyrrha: What do you mean?
Jaune: I know it's going to sound weird, since you don't have siblings, but, did you ever feel like you didn't belong? Like nobody understood who you were, least of all you?
Pyrrha: Actually, I have felt that way. As far as I can remember, I have felt different from everyone else, and I couldn't tell who I really was. That is, until I came to Beacon.
Jaune: I'm glad things worked out for you, Pyrrha.
Pyrrha: Give it time, and it will for you, too. And your sisters... They mean well. They love you, no matter where you go or where you came from.
Jaune: Thanks, Pyrrha.
Pyrrha: Anytime, Jaune. Now, onto sparring practice!
Jaune: Yeah! (Spars with Pyrrha for ten minutes, Unleashes a sword beam) WOAH!
Pyrrha: (Blocks it) What on Remnant was that?!
Jaune: I-I don't know! I was going through the motions, then I got distracted by that sunset, and all of a sudden, whoosh!
Pyrrha: Sunset? (Gasps)
Jaune: What?! What is it?!
Pyrrha: Oh, uh, we, uh, just have a big test tomorrow, and we should really call it early tonight.
Jaune: Right! The test! Good thinking, Pyr! We better head down!
Pyrrha: Of course, of course! I'm right behind you! (Looks to the sunset) Thank you, Scarlet. I promise to take good care of him.
Cardin: (From the window sill below) Who the hell is Scarlet?
