Leverage Redemption Log: The Golf Job

Thats Golf with an O not a U. (so its not about BP) its also notably with an F not a D so its not about Hardison returning to learn a lesson on the importance of simplicity in the art of the con either. --- five-hundred and four nails. Thats a large and incredibly specific number of nails (wether hardware or keratin)

Migrant labour, phones and families held hostage. Well our mark at least knows talent when he sees it.

Welcome to America kid, where "upwards mobility" means a sherpa carrying a drunken white man up Mt Everest. --- HURLEY?! I mean i knew you were still around cause Parker mentioned you earlier but to see you is another story.

Breanna is at a coding-camp to get her skills improved. Ok so i know from the TVtropes page of the OG series that there was a korean spin-off, so im assuming that this is a reference to the Korean Spin-off.

But apparently Hurley went from "no longer doing crime" to "I swear im no longer doing crime unless im conned by a hot nun" to "fuck it, if I cant live a life of non-crime i'll at least have someone I trust decide which crimes im doing". --- Golfing trip. Harry loses his ball and stumbles across our Mark. Harry overhears the less-usefull half of the conversation (basically only knows about a "liquidity issue") and witnesses Bao get threatened.

Elliot is at this point so familiar with the whole "busman's holiday" thing that he no longer finds the irony funny anymore.

Ah im starting to realise whats happening. The halloween episode was a "girls night out" and this is the "boys night out" episode. But cause Hardison is only available as a special guest they had to bring in Hurley to avoid working a 2-man crew. Harry's first time having to do an actual B&E himself. Meanwhile elliot is doing his "pretend to be a creepy rich guy oggling the staff who arent paid enough to put up with it" con. (not a fan) Hurley is getting the money by rolling pockets as a server. --- And Harry needs to figure out a password. First two tries fail (both decent guesses) and he knows a third failure will lock him out so he tries Breanna, who is unfortunately unavailable for reasons of coding camp. Oh he's resorted to Social Engineering, taking a leaf out of Sophie's book. Lets see how it plays out for him.

And He's Done It! (Maybe "Imaloser" is a bit on the nose, but it fits the character of "disgruntled IT guy who is sick of these idiots not doing this right")

Something bad enough that Harry's old employers wouldnt be willing to keep it on their servers lest it damage them? Thats bad.

And Harry almost got compromised but quickly pulls the "this is my office" and stealthily distracts her while he removes the pictureframes. He's getting good at this. (but also, he was never bad at it. His first self-made heist was pretty well thought out with exception to the whole "insurance would've covered it" thing.)

little bit more social engineering and he's got access to the paper files (unfortunately he slips and gives himself slightly away, both with his rant on how lawyers are scum and the daughter thing. Yes Saphron has a child but its a baby, not remotely old enough to be someone she'd remind him of) --- Elliot getting confused on the various stupid con-names. (good gag.)

Sophie doing her part of the con in a cameo. (wonder if this is gonna be a repeat of the Girls Night Out Job and next episode lets us see why she's wearnig a moustache in a monastary, but i dont think so)

poor guy's gonna be on hold for hours isnt he... great dart-throw though. Impressive. --- I like Bao's little story about the Golf-club of the Lake. Hurley is trying to reach out but unfortunately, fear is still winning (cause hostages at the nail-salon) --- Harry is taking his understudy on an all-expenses spa-day. Oh she's calling him out earlier then expected (harry is not that good of an actor) but he reaches out and works her on their side.

Greenscreen Parker is rather uncanny valley.

So yeah, he's a human trafficker. --- And we're back to continuity-jokes (thin blue line and that one where he played baseball)

Repeat of Sophie's advice. Ah the magic words... god i hate those. Hurley reverse-engineers the secret to Elliots power: The more Chaos, the better the Elliot.

Little "chaotic Hurley" montage (the keys, thats just low) --- Operation Ultrakaren is a go! And Hurley is going into withdrawal,

Well Harry is definitly undeniably outed to his old company now. (i mean they already suspected, but now Saphron knows)

i think what you could do for a pinned masterpost is like have a smaller pinned masterpost but link it to a page that holds the entire masterpost with all the links. because custom pages are not posts i dont think they'd have a limit on links

the only problem with that is that pages do not work on mobile :P

(also you have so much text and links on your sidebar that i cannot see all of it on my screen haha)

Mmmm that might not work then, since apparently enough people use the app on mobile that I'll often get people complaining to me about it if there's something they want to read but it's difficult to access on mobile. So I'd like that to work!

I may need to shorten some text in my sidebar though...I do see all of it myself, but I'm usually on a very large desktop screen...

Either way, I think I'll do as some suggested and just make a big series of masterposts that will be linked under one main masterpost, but it'll take me a bit more time to get that up.

i think im gonna take down my icon page for now! it glitched super heavily a while back and i could never fix it; plus a lot of the icons are outdated as hell so. i’ve also gotta make major changes to my tags page and my about page, so expect my desktop blog to be touch n go for now. mobile should be in perfect working order!

my queue is back, but it’s gonna be a lot slower than you might previously be used to as i get the hang of things again

just bc im back doesn’t mean i’m sure when/if ill be generating content! though i still watch and love smosh, a lot of my passion for the channel and the fandom content died down after. you know. the Incident. so i’ve been pulling a lot of samples from hexawe.net

if ur a musician i’d recommend doing your own google hacking, because there’s gotta be HUNDREDS of hidden pages on the site. most of them have free samples, sample packs, live recordings, and even foley. all of it is under creative commons attribution license (except the obvious stuff that’s sampled from copyrighted things) so just credit them when u use their work

apparently hexawe is an inactive label/collective made for users of littleGPTracker, aka piggy tracker. i’ve downloaded piggy tracker and found it very barebones and nigh impossible to use, but maybe you’ll have better luck. weirdly enough, it seems specifically designed to run on mobile gaming devices like the PSP (???)

you can find these pages by google searching “site:hexawe.net” and seeing what comes up. it’s not just sounds, there are also plenty of weird images too

some of my favs:

mess. a parent directory for a lot of the site’s assets. so many files in here

200 drum machines. this is a big fuckoff folder with all the sounds of 200 classic drum machines, including the roland 808 and 909

og breaks. DIRECT DOWNLOAD LINK. exactly what it sounds like, a ton of classic breakbeats that everyone loves to sample. amen break, think break, etc

covox live in sf. a nasty dirty gabber set from covox

samples. a few real gems in here. there’s a vocal sample where a guy is singing in swedish, and there’s a file attached called “lyrics in swedish and english” but the file just says “you dont really want to know what im saying..”

compos. competitions hexawe held to encourage ppl to make music with piggy tracker. later released as compilation albums of submitted works. you can download their sample packs (theyre just mp3′s) and try them yourself. personal favs are monorave and casiocrack. most of these seem to be from 2003-2009

I am taking on a project. Where i recreate my first ever terraria worlds from mobile 1.1 and 1.2 on terraria mobile for kindle fire from about 7 years ago but in pc 1.4 terraria and also using tedit

So far ive mapped out the locations of all the important structures i built as well as specific locations that Mean A Lot To Me and have pics of the whole map (tho i dont rly care abt making like the caves n shit accurate its mostly the surface and structures in relation to each other) and listed them out. heres some uhh quirks i found/remembered abt old mobile worlds

first some things that dont require pics:

- my guide’s name in my first world was Eva and i remember me n my friend being stoked about how i apparently had a trans guide bc of her name <3 i still have no idea how and Why it gave the guide that name, i think it was only in 1.1 because the world i made when 1.2 came out that i got to hardmode in, i never got a guide with that name after beating the wall a buncha times (as evidenced by the number of purple boxes in hell), nor was it ever on the wiki page for npc names. i still love eva and i will put a cameo of her somewhere in my askblog which you should check out asks are open @moon-lords-pawn <3

- if you pause while standing near a bubble machine you can see it keep making bubbles at the normal rate, but none of them like go anywhere. once you unpause they all go flying n it looks super cool w all these bubbles exploding out of the machine

- terraria crashed 14 times and i closed it myself 1 time but i think thats a fault of my kindle being Seven Years Old

- i dont think you can dye accessories! how sad

- cloud saved worlds saved to google drive, but i think before that was changed in 2016? there was a diff service it used and i have NO idea what it was called but i didnt have an account with whatever it was, so it basically meant more world space. i had one world called archery and i think i wrote about it for a writing assignment in 5th grade, pretty sure it also involved herobrine somewhere in there. anyway w the google drive cloud save it just had you sign in with google plus (so, obv, doesnt work anymore RIP) and saved your world and player files to a google drive folder. i still have my folder to this day and it will never leave, and apparently i made undyne as a cloud saved chara and used her a Lot?? and i DONT remember that

ok now some w pictures

- you probably know this one but worlds were ASS SMALL before they introduced “expanded” worlds which i thiiink are just the equivalent of pc small worlds. what i didnt realize was that this also made the dungeon and jungle temple ASS SMALL

SORRY FOR ASS QUALITY PIC BC MY KINDLE WON’T LET ME TAKE SCREENSHOTS OR OPEN MY PHOTOS BUT JUST LOOK AT IT.. ITS PATHETIC.. also im not entirely sure but i thiiiink this is the temple i was able to get into pre plantera, i think even pre hardmode bc. see that hole at the top? that was replaced with mud that just let me mine right through it. this might not be the one that had that but i remember at least one temple i was in had it. also this temple is right above hell n i think thats funny

- i had a travelling merchant come buy and i was able to get this picture before terraria crashed, apparently this was the old diamond ring sprite?? bud i played this version for like 3 years ive seen all the old sprites but this jumpscared me

- tbh theres a lot of old sprites i kinda forgot about and most of them i don’t find that bad in comparison to 1.3 or 1.4 resprites but the old coins take the cake as the ugliest old sprites im sorry

theyre just so.. unshiny. they look like they would be massive and like super thick if you held them in your hand. they look like stale pastries

A character analysation of IdV’s Bloody Queen

Bloody Queen AKA Mary is a hunter in the mobile/PC game Identity V. She is personally my favorite hunter because she is easy to learn but hard to master. Her backstory is something that has always interested me though, so i decided to compile my thoughts onto this one post.

Something i appreciate about IdV’s character roster is that some of them are based off of historical characters, and interesting ones at that. So expect a lot of history lessons and references that should be explained in order to understand a character fully (especially with Mary considering how there isn’t a lot shown about her backstory through promotional content, and im talking about stuff like the official website here).

With that in mind, let’s just get into it.

There is not a lot we know about Mary other than the fact that she is inspired from a mix of stories, those being about a French queen named Marie Antoinette and Bloody Mary. These two are used in seperate ways, Marie Antoinette’s story being used as heavy inspiration for Mary’s backstory and lore, while Bloody Mary is a visual/gameplay inspiration.

Mary’s description on her info page and on the official idv website is

This is strange because it really tells little to nothing about Mary besides her being aware that the position of a queen means a lot of vulnerability. It also strikes me as weird because every other hunter has a fleshed out backstory being written under this tab. (With the exception of Guard 26)

So overall, the ground to work on is pretty small, we dont have a lot of info revealed to us, and therefore leaves her to be a character who loses a lot of potential on a writing stance.

Intro Video

Mary does have an introduction video, though, which explains the base of what happened to her Pre-manor.

The video explains how Mary was the queen of a country that had a bad financial crisis which was so bad people couldn’t afford food (if we are sticking fully to the Marie Antoinette inspo, this was in the 1790′s) and the public felt as if Mary didn’t care enough to help her people, the citizens voted her to be beheaded under a guillotine. Truth be told, Mary was actually trying to help her citizens by giving them cake.

We have probably the most lore information about Mary from her deduction descriptions, which explain her career as a queen more in detail, about struggles she had and her situation in general.

Deductions

The first conclusion is clearly telling us that the king Mary married had a problematic family, and the king’s family probably only looked at Mary as someone who will keep the family’s name up, someone who will have a child with the king. (Also, dont get confused: Maria Theresia is Mary’s mother’s name, not her actual name.)

Mary used to spend a lot of time away from the palace in Petit Trianon, which is a manor located in Versailles. The secret letter tells us that Mary was egoistic, naive, and was kind of a glutton. The letter mentions how rumors are powerful, and are going to spread really fast once word comes out about the “incompetence” and lacking abilities witihin the royal family, which will eventually be Mary’s demise.

Princess Lamballe is once again a historical recreation of actual Priness Lamballe, a part of the Savoy House (Western EU country). In real life, Lamballe was actually the confidante (someone who you would discuss private matters with as a royal) of Marie Antoinette after her 1 year old marriage came to an end. IRL, Princess Lambelle dies along Marie Antoinette’s side as she gets killed in the French Revolution.

The shameful secret can really only be assumed to mean that Lamballe was actually Mary’s secret affair, especially looking at how all evidence suggests that the actual royal family Mary is connected to seems to be a mess. Mary is kind of confirmed to be wlw from this deduction which is fucking cool, but this rumor mightve been what also caused Mary to be beheaded. (But, IRL, the king Artois considered Marie to be physicially unattractive or even smart enough for him, in contrary to him, where he apparently was attractive. He did end up making up with quite a number of mistresses. But let’s not get into a conversation about how unhealthy or toxic royal relationships were in the 1700′s)

this is obviously saying Lamballe is being replaced by the Yolande (Countess of Polignac) as her confidante. IRL, this happens because the Countess of Pilognac and Lamballe start having quarrels against each other, in which they try to win over the queen’s heart, and over time Marie ends up preferring Yolande’s company. But Lamballe feels as if Yolande was a bad influence on the queen, yet she could do nothing about it. The friendship between Lamballe and Marie remained regardless, and she constantly admired Lamballe’s loyalty toward her. "She is the only woman I know who never bears a grudge; neither hatred nor jealousy is to be found in her."

Mary finally has a child, and it is a girl. Here we see the reinforcement of Lamballe’s loyalty, but with this conclusion also being titled as a rumor, it is also telling that this is one of many reasons people will start getting suspicious of Mary’s possible affairs.

This conclusion only leads me to believe that one of the several reasons why Mary was treated the way she was by the public was because of jealousy towards her life and the things she achieved at a young age. The description of the people who are spreading the rumors are bitter, sour people who take joy out of seeing the bad in successful people. Here is where it all goes downhill (as evident by the subtitle under the deduction title.)

We will once again need a little bit of a history lesson for this one:

Koblenz, first of all is a city in Germany. The reason why the French would ever think of even setting up anything in Germany was because of the French Immigrants, and the reason why the Germans were cool about this was because the archbishop-elector (one of the chiep bishop electors) was the uncle of Louis XVI-a persecuted king of France. Along with the refugees that entered the city, two of them was Louis XVI’s brothers: The Count of Provence and the Count of Artois. them, along with Louis XVI’s cousin, Prince Louis Joseph formed an army of aristocrats who would seek to fight for the Ancien Regimé (The name of the political and social system that was popular in France at the time.) In the meantime back in France, the Royal Family gave in and decided to adopt the Constitutional Monarchy, which was very modern at the time. This deduction description just basically explains that this is where Mary and the royal family fucks up, i just thought it would be interesting to know what they actually meant by what they wrote.

Yolande has left behind the Royal Family and made a run to escape the country. If you’re wondering, at the start of the revolution Princess Lamballe was actually in Switzerland, but as soon as she got notified of the situation she revisited the royal family to aid them, and reassumed her position.

This letter in particular is pretty cut-and-clear: the intention of the revolutionists was to smudge the royal family’s name in the dirt once and for all. What real-life anti-monarchist propaganda would consist of at the time was promiscuous imagery of Lamballe and the queen as lovers to further “besmirch” the queen’s reputation.

This is just obviously hinting at the aftermath of the French Revolutions and also telling us the present (at the time the letter was written). Mary gets executed by the Guillotine, and-well we all know how the rest of the story goes.

Overall, Mary’s deduction story is just a short summarization of what actually happened before and during the French Revolution: it even added the details of how actually sketchy and corrupt the royal family within was, not just the dissatisfaction of the public. As a summary of what this meant for Mary, as the Hunter, she feels pure bitterness, and anger towards the citizens for the way they treated her and the people around her. And as we can see, there was no reference towards Bloody Mary what-so-ever, and the reason why that is is because according to the Chinese version of IdV (which is what the original game’s region/language is) Her name actually would translate to “Madame Red”, not Bloody Queen. I think it was just the translators having fun with words, and since her design is very similar to that of what a person would think Bloody Mary looks like, i guess it made sense to them lol

But regardless, we’ll still take a look at Mary’s design.

Mary’s design is simple compared to other hunter designs in IdV. A simple, ball gown which was originally white, but turned red due to Mary’s beheading, pools of blood dropped all over her body. Mary also used to have long hair, but assumed by the very broken looking locks of hair, her hair probably was cut down by the guillotine. Eagle-eyed people will also take notice to her neck, which is stitched back onto the rest of her body, which the designers wanted to include really bad since its prevalent even in concept sketches as well:

Mary’s gameplay design is based solely on mythologies about Bloody Mary, however, which makes things kind of confusing, but i guess thats what idv excels at the most lol

It’s Always You

This is a sneak peek of something that I’m working on and really debating on posting. I’d love feedback, whether positive or negative. Something you didn’t like, something that didn’t make sense. If it doesn’t get a lot of feedback, then I guess that’s also my answer, as well. *Edit. I forgot the Keep Reading bar. I will get better.

Pairing: Bucky X OFC

Warnings: descriptions of car accidents, being in the hospital, angst, I maintain that I know absolutely nothing. Heavy sarcasm. There’s seriously so much snark in this story, I almost ran out.

Word count: 1112

Summary: Ava is in a car accident and wakes up in the hospital with Captain America asking her questions. Before she can remember anything, she slips into a coma. Will she be able to help Steve figure out what’s going on in time?

Disclaimer, since we apparently have to do this now: I only own my original characters. The ideas are mine, the Marvel characters belong to Marvel. This story was inspired by @shreddedparchment‘s You’re My Mission, but as far as we’re both aware (I believe) they’re not similar.

The last thing I remember is the set of headlights coming directly at the left side of my car. The screeching of metal twisting, the hollow pops as the door panels crack and the shattering of glass are the last noises I hear.

Silence.

Blissful.

Pain-free.

Silence.

The next sound I become slowly aware of is a quiet beeping. A steady rhythm. Even.

It almost lulls me back to sleep. But then I’m aware that something isn’t right. I try to roll over but my whole body is immobilized, held down and I begin to panic. That quiet beeping becomes frantic, picks up speed. I can’t breathe, something is blocking my airway, something hard forced down my throat.

“She’s awake!” A voice yells and there’s more noise. People talking over people, hands touching me and my panic ratchets up another notch.

The hard plastic something is pulled out of my throat, leaving it burning and raw, but at least I can breathe. I gasp for air and my throat feels like it’s on fire.

“If you can hear me, you need to calm down. You’re safe, you’re in a hospital.” A voice says gently, a hand pressing on my shoulder.

I struggle to open my eyes, but for the first time I realize I can’t, they’re being held shut.

I try to lift my arms but they feel like dead weight and won’t move.

“Easy, now. Just relax.” The voice says again and I feel fingers against my eyes, but there’s a gap in the sensation. It takes me a long minute to realize that it’s because I can’t feel all of the fingertip.

Something like tape is pulled off my eye and I wince as pain flares. But now I can open my eyes. One only opens a little, it’s mostly swollen shut, which is probably why they only had tape on one.

“Your eye kept popping open, it was unnerving some of the staff.” The voice says again. Her voice is gentle, feminine.

I try to turn my head to look at her, but my neck won’t turn. “What happened to me?” I croak. My voice is painfully rough and speaking even that much hurts like a bitch.

“Don’t try to move. You’re very lucky to be alive. Can you tell me what you remember?” She asks, stepping into your view. She’s very pretty, A dark-skinned beauty with obvious Western Asian features and a British accent.

“I,” I try to think back before waking up just a moment ago, but it’s just a big black void. Faces appear, my parents, my sisters, people I used to know, my boyfriend. “I was talking to my boyfriend... on the phone, I think.” I start, my good eye drifting over my body.

It looks like the entire thing is in a cast. My legs are elevated, the left one in a complicated looking brace and the right one in red plaster. My arms are suspended in front of me, needles stuck along the fingers and thick bandages wrapped from my palms up to the middle of my forearms. My right arm is in a cast up to the middle of my bicep and I can feel the massive bandage over my right shoulder.

“And what were you doing at the time?” The doctor asks. Her face is kind and I want to answer, but thinking back that far hurts my head.

“I don’t remember.” I close your eyes, trying to calm down.

“That’s alright. Maybe with a little rest, it will come back to you. Can you tell me your name?”

“Ava. Ava Fonesca.”

“That’s really good. I’m Doctor Haskin. If you need anything or have any questions for me, you can always have a nurse page me.”

“Can’t you tell me what’s the matter with me?” I ask.

She glances towards the door for a moment. “Someone is here to see you. We can discuss your injuries later after you’ve had more time to heal.” She says, stepping outside.

I nearly choke at the man who enters the now-empty hospital room. He’s tall, he’s blond and those baby blue eyes seem to look right through me.

Captain America.

“Hi,” He says once his eyes meet mine. They roamed over my injuries at first, only a natural instinct.

“Hi,” I reply, feeling insanely stupid.

“Do you know who I am?” He asks.

“Don’t tell me you have amnesia, too. The whole world will fall apart if Captain Steve Rogers can’t remember who he is.” I reply, my jaw aches so I’m careful to keep it mostly shut.

He grins. “Finally, a sense of humor I can get along with.”

“You get along with everybody.” A female voice says, coming into the room.

Wanda Maximoff.

“Don’t let him lie to you like that.” She says with a friendly smile at me.

I don’t respond, mostly because I’m trying to keep my panic under control.

“How are you feeling?” Steve asks.

“Like an elephant is sitting on my chest,” I admit.

He gives a small chuckle. “I’ve been there. It will go away.” He stalls for a minute and I can tell the small talk is over.

“What are you doing here?” I ask.

“Direct, to the point. I like her.” Wanda says, turning a little to Steve.

“We need to talk about what happened to you.”

“I don’t know anything,” I answer honestly.

“Okay. So, let’s talk about what you do know.” He pulls a chair close to the side of my bed.

“Nothing.”

“I’m sure that’s not true. You’re one of the best biochemical scientists in the world, from what I hear.” He smiles and I have to try hard to resist rolling my eyes.

“Well, sure, I know stuff. But you’re not referring to what I know like that. You want to know what got me here and honestly-I have no idea.”

Wanda snorts in a very unladylike way behind Steve.

“Okay.” He takes a deep breath. “So, do you remember going to work?”

I close my eyes, trying to focus. “I remember a conversation.” I want to rub my face. It’s frustrating to not have the mobility I should.

“With your boyfriend?” Steve asks.

“No, with... with a friend. I think I sent him something.” I frown.

“Was this friend Michael Chambers?” Steve asks gently.

I try to nod, but can’t. “Yes. We went to Harvard together.” It dawns on me that I never said Michael’s name. “How did you know it was him?” I ask, my eye trained on Steve.

“He was found dead in his apartment two weeks ago. The same night you had your accident.”

Codsworth: Beats doing housework!

A Mister Handy that’s kept Sanctuary from collapsing for 200 years, Codsy is a gentleman through and through. His old owner supposedly dead, he’s still keeping the house spick and span. While tending to the Carrot Flowers, two little creatures wandered up to him, and the metal butler was smitten. Scavengers who come to pick through the ruins are met with a robot who is very insistent on not letting people steal from his neighbors, dead or not. After word got out to avoid Sanctuary if you didn’t want your Pokemon to faint, people started coming in droves to meet the challenge. “It’s just a robot, how bad could it be?” Answer: Quite bad. He doesn’t really have a Gym, but the Elite 4 noticed him enough to make him a Leader. His Badge is the Rust Badge, and he gives out TM61, Will-o-wisp.

Piper Wright: Can’t stop the Press!

Piper is a part-time gym-leader, part-time reporter, and full time sister. With her hectic schedule, her composed Grass types help her errands and keeping her sane. Piper’s paper, Publick Occurrences, used to be about news and advice for Trainers, but lately it’s been mostly accusing the city’s mayor of consorting with the shadowy Institute, known for stealing Pokemon and kidnapping people. Because of this, Mayor McDonough is constantly threatening to take Piper’s Gym (and Pokemon) away. She’s been arrested multiple times for disturbing the peace and causing fights among the citizens of Diamond City, no matter how hard her team tries to stop her. If you can withstand her onslaught of status moves, she gives you the Paper Badge and TM86, Grass Knot.

Strong: Strong is Strong.

Trinity Tower was a ruin after the war; but recently, Fighting-Type Trainers have made the place a Dojo, training themselves and their Pokemon with discipline and restraint. The Gym Leader doesn’t do any of this. Strong uses absolute brute force to decimate his foes and underlings. Strong came to Trinity Tower because he heard that Fighting-Types were strong against Normal-Types. After wiping the floor with the trainers, he demolished the previous Leader to the point the man went off the grid in embarrassment. Even though his underlings’ favoured Pokemon counter his own, his ferocity and mercilessness lets his Normal-Type Pokemon stand victorious. If you can fight his brawn with brain, he gives you the Berzerk Badge, along with TM64, Explosion, which he is so very sad his Pokemon can’t use.

Cait: The Irish Cage Fighter!

The Combat Zone was once a theater, before the war. After the bombs dropped, it was turned into a fighting ring. It had actually decent customers and audiences, until raiders took over. But, throughout it all (excluding before the war), Cait was the star of the show. She beats her opponents down and down and down, whether with her fists or her Pokemons’. She used to be the 5th leader, but after the raiders took over, her mental health went on a rapid decline and consequently, so did her battle ability. Now, she’s far better at beating someone’s face in with a bat than she is with Pokemon. Her Pokemon are very strong, but she just can’t use their power to her advantage anymore. Her badge is the Trigger Rush badge, and she gives you TM08, Bulk Up. Also - your biggest threat isn’t her Machamp. That Stufful will destroy you, your team, and your will to live.

Hancock: Of the People, For the People!

As the Mayor of GoodNeighbor, John Hancock doesn’t want to waste time and resources for an actual Gym. To challenge him, simply walk up and ask for a battle. Since Hancock is the Mayor, he doesn’t have a lot of time to spend battling, so he fights only a select few of his challengers. First, they have to get in good with his town. If the challenger doesn’t follow the rules of GoodNeighbor and disrespects anyone in his town, they’re not getting a battle. Second, they have to get a reputation as a strong trainer. Hancock doesn’t like wasting his time with overconfident people who more bark than bite, and he doesn’t like crushing dreams of younger trainers who just want to prove themselves. If you can somehow defeat his beloved Scizor, he gives you the Isotope Badge, along with TM28, Leech Life.

The Sixth Leader is almost impossible to find. It changes daily. No one has ever fought the same Gym leader. Also, there’s no set gym. The Gym Leader will either be always on the move, or in a undisclosed, forgotten ruin that no one can find. They always have the same Pokemon and sunglasses, however, so some suspect it’s the same person being a jerk. The League claims that the leader hasn’t changed in years, and that the badge is authorized, but since no one can find the Leader, the badge isn’t necessary to fight the league. Apparently, the badge is the Cloak & Dagger badge, and the assigned Technical Machine is TM99, Dazzling Gleam.

Who is the strange man that appeared out of nowhere to take over when the last Gym Leader moved? No one seems to know. The most heartless of both the Gym leaders and the Elite 4, he has no mercy for his challengers, and little respect for his underlings. As much as he appears to hate pretty much everyone, he strangely seems to like the 8th Gym Leader, who hates him. Despite how ruthless he is with training and work, and how hard he pushes people to push their Pokemon, he has been seen using baby-talk with his own. His Pokemon are wickedly strong, but if you can melt them down, you win the Harmonic badge, with TM79, Frost Breath. Also, he’ll be your #1 fan.

Danse: Shock and awe!

Danse’s old Gym was at the Cambridge Police Station, and then the Brotherhood Prydwen when it showed up. His battle tactics got the attention of the League, and they basically harassed him to accept. He only did because being a Gym Leader gives him and his Pokemon plenty of exercise and training. The supplies given as a ‘welcome’ gift from the E4 and the good rep he was getting for the Brotherhood didn’t hurt either. However, something happened within the Brotherhood, and Danse was kicked out. He’s still a Gym Leader, despite the protest of one of the Elite 4, and he now shares Sanctuary with Codsy. He has a shiny Skitty named Cupcake. His badge is the Authority Badge, and he gives you TM91, Flash Cannon. After being exiled, his mental health, much like Cait, has gone with the wind. Not only is he too mentally out of it to perform the best he can, his Pokemon are also thrown out of the loop, and are worried to death over him. He’s not nearly as powerful as he was a month ago.

Curie: Though dangerous, battle is quite vigorous exercise!

Everyone in the League agrees: Curie is an absolute angel, too good for the Commonwealth. As an Elite 4 member, though, she’s the most hellish devil from the darkest pit of...hell. An avid lover of poison types, and prodigal with potions and status healers, Curie doesn’t fight offensively, but defensively, planning out her strategy to outlast her opponents until the poisons and confusion does the damage for her. Honestly, she only uses poison types because studying them helps her find cures and medicines, which she gladly shares with anyone. After battling her, she’ll heal your Pokemon and give you more supplies, whether you win or lose. Curie won’t let you give up. She has an Audino that she uses as a nurse to heal both people and Pokemon. It has little pom-poms to cheer you on as you battle Curie.

Intelligence, strength, power. These are some of many words used to describe Arthur Maxson, the Elder of his army, the Brotherhood of Steel. As the the Elder, Maxson personally makes sure his soldiers know what it means to be a Pokemon trainer. It isn’t about strength, defense, or speed, but raw determination, discipline, and respect for your team. Elder Maxson radiates power and generates respect. He stands tall, so his soldiers and Pokemon may look up to him. He walks with confidence, so his soldiers and Pokemon may march besides him with hope and vigor. Also, he’s kind of...racist. And pretty much anyone that isn’t a BoS soldier hates him. Has tried to personally kill the 7th and 8th gym leader - stopped because if he succeeded, he’d be booted from the E4, which he wants the BoS to have a firm foothold in.

MacCready: ‘Nother notch on my rifle!

Robert Joseph MacCready - a name that will bring a myriad of reactions depending on who you mention it to. Either despised or adored, people can agree on one thing only - the young man is way too good for his age. Picking up both a sniper rifle and a Fletchling at a young age to protect his people, MacCready is rude, greedy, materialistic - and a total family guy. His Togekiss and Drifblim were his wife’s before she died. He uses multiple tactics to win, and fights dirty. Defensive strategies and accuracy are key to reaching the Champion. If you lose, expect raspberries and ‘L’s and ‘neener neener neener’.

Valentine: Peering deep into the darkness, wondering, fearing.

As the Commonwealth’s best (only) detective, Nick Valentine is always working. His room in the Elite 4 is his office, with papers stacked to the ceiling. His main office/workplace is in Diamond City, with his secretary, Ellie Perkins, running it while he’s away. It’s odd that he uses Dark-types, but people think he only uses them to fit his “Noir-Detective” aesthetic. They’re right and wrong. They do fit his aesthetic, especially with the black/pink color scheme with his Psychic types, but Dark types have a knack for solving mysteries. That knack, paired again with his Psychic Pokemon, help him immensely with cases. That, and their mischievousness is cute to him. Dogmeat, a shiny wild Mightyena, is often consulted for his nose-work.

Preston Garvey: Protect the people at a minute’s notice.

Before the Minutemen army collapsed, they prided themselves on their Pokemon. Every Soldier was given a team that could best help with building settlements and protecting them. Water, Electric, and Grass types were mandatory, for growing food, electricity, and clean water. Preston joined the ranks with a Mudbray he had since he was a kid, born from his dad’s Mudsdale. It was the only Pokemon of his to survive Quincy. After the massacre, he made it his goal to be strong enough to never let history repeat itself. After Sanctuary was able to defend itself, he set out to find weak Pokemon, as he was raised to believe the strongest creatures start out as the smallest. Now, that determination can be seen by trainers all across the Commonwealth. Preston has the ability to carry out the protection he swore to the people of the wasteland, and he will mow down anyone or thing who threatens them.
