Backstory: Jaune's parents were hunters and were friends with STRQ.
Because of this and Jaune being the most responsible out of his sibling, they made him take care about Ruby and Yang when they were working.
This made both sisters think that Jaune is their Cousin (and Tai and Jaune's father are brothers). Which was bad for Ruby because she developed massive crush for Jaune so she coudn't act upon it.
Years later and her crush only grew (to almost scary degree) along with Yang's teasing. They even went to beacon together, luckily when Jaune parents visited and heard her, they said that Arc's aren't related, they look alike just by coincidence.
This made Ruby happy, very happy, finally last chain holding back her horny were broken. Now is a time to fulify her (many dream)
Ruby to Jaune after telling discovering the truth:
You were never one of us. You were nothing but a fake, a false family. My eyes have been opened. Now. Let me show you, how much you mean to me, daddy
P.S I will not apologize for writing it
I will not ask for an apology for requesting it.
-------------------------------------------
"R-Ruby, calm down!" Jaune called to his younger cousin, only for his cry to fall on deaf ears.
"I'll calm down when I get what I want!" Ruby made a leap for him, but he scrambled to quickly out of the way. "There's no getting away, Jaune! I locked the door!"
"Yeah?" Jaune replied. "Well, I didn't lock the windows!"
There was a silence held between them.
"Huh?"
"It sounded cooler in my headed."
"See, this is why I love you so much."
"I love you, too, just..." Jaune made an uncomfortable face. "Just not that way, you know?"
"Well, I do love you that way!" Ruby proclaimed. "And nobody is going to stop us from being together forever!"
She jumped for him again, and again she missed as he clambered through the window. She took hold of his leg, desperately digging her claws into him. Jaune kicked away, scrambling to the roof. He popped Ruby right in her mouth, and she fell back with her hands over her lips.
"Ruby?" Jaune dared to look back through the window. "Ruby, are you okay?"
Ruby's eyes were red and puffy as hot tears streamed from her face. The sight reminded him of the time she scuffed her knee pretty bad while playing in the woods. With a sudden change to the rules, Ruby fell off a log and hurt her leg. Yang ran for help while she stayed on the ground, crying her eyes out at how much she hated the rule changes. She blamed her sister and her cousin for changing the rules. To repay her, he stayed by her side held her until Yang came back with one of the adults. Thankfully, there were no Grimm close by to notice the negativity.
But the emotion was much more charged here.
"I HATE YOU!" She screamed so loud, he was sure her voice was hoarse. She then sped out of the room, leaving Jaune sitting outside the window, dumbfounded.
As he climbed inside, Yang entered the room with a concerned look on her face. "What the heck's going on up here?"
Jaune gulped. Should he tell the truth and let Yang know what her sister tried to do? She could get into serious trouble for this, but this was also something that couldn't be treated as a slap on the wrist. Jaune took a long sigh.
"So, do you promise not to tell anybody?"

since we all appear to be talking about izzy 'calling the police' on stede id like to offer my silly little two cents:
its not like the navy wasn't actively looking for him anyway??????
at most, izzys actions sped up badminton catching up with stede, but its made very clear that badminton wanted Stede dead well before this, and was willing to use whatever he could to find him- whos to say jackie wouldnt have cut a deal on her own? that any other pirate thats seen them being unsubtle in a port wouldn't take the opportunity to make a quick buck over a guy who is Nobody and holds no influence that could lead to any consequences for them?
in reality izzy is probably the only person who would receive negative repercussions to selling out stede, given his personal connection with ed- any other pirate would probably have gotten away unscathed, anonymous. they likely wouldnt have even been present like izzy was. izzy had personal stakes, anyone else would have taken the money and ran
the way i see it, with or without izzy the events of episode 10 probably would have happened in some degree, izzy just expedited the timeline
#like ok. i dont exactly support izzys actions but i honestly dont see it as that big of a deal??? to our characters i mean#idk i just. its a dick move!! but i struggle to see it as any more than that#its the actions of a desperate man who made a stupid decision to get his.... ed. out of what he saw as a bad situation#whether it is or not i cant say! but you cant deny ed drastically changed in the time he was on the revenge#in a way that could be concerning from the outside#(i saw a good post kinda comparing it to your friend ending up in a cult and. yeah. excellent description from an outside perspective)#idk theres a lot of. undertones in the way people say 'calling the police' and also they always say ed too and its like. no! izzy tried to#get ed out of there! he set the navy on everyone BUT ed. and its not like the navy really cared about the crew. only stede#i am not the person to talk about why 'calling the cops' is a bad take but the posts are out there. ive seen them.#izzy did what hundreds of pirates did to save their own hide- including hornigold himself (but honestly that was worse because he actively#turned hunter. not just a guy with a tip)#also side historic note that uhh. the navy was casually in Nassau. what exactly was the situation there??? was shit occurring. w#we know it did in history#idk#nyxtalks#ofmd#izzy hands#israel hands#spanish jackie 🤝 izzy: girlbosses for selling stede out to the British/Spanish for their own gain#idk i think thats the one thing he did 'wrong' but ita still very sympathetic to me#its not like izzy dibbed in a guy nobody cared about#'hey hey ill sell you information about this pirate please let me sell you information' ' i mean i guess we are supposed to be doing that'#badminton had an active vendetta against stede and kinda seemed like. he would stop at nothing to get him???#given. the whole 'id rather let blackbeard go and kill Stede than take a huge pirate into custody' thing

Hello! Very random and no worries if that's not your intention for the blog, but I love reading about your teacher experience and insights! Take this ask more so as encouragement to write more about it if you feel like it, because I'm going to start teaching soon (and yes, many people I've met have warned me about both its miracles and horrors lol) and it's really helpful to hear others' experiences :)
Thanks for the ask! Honestly I'm just a first year, so I don't have a tonnnn of advice to give. But here's a few general first year tips from one to a future another:
1 — No matter what, having a good department team is ESSENTIAL. You're going to be relying on them a lot your first year for help, advice, curriculum stuff, behavioral management stuff, etc. Talk to them, get to know them, have lunch with them, share issues/seek advice from them. You're going to encounter situations that your degree did not prepare you for (likely, in the first week lol. For me, it was Day 1) and having people around to help you judgement free is going to be crucial. I was super lucky that my department team and all the teachers from other departments that I work closely with are really amazing, easy to work with, etc.
2 — You're also going to want a good relationship with the "other" departments. The library staff, tech staff, sped department, guidance, janitors, etc. They're all lovely people, so don't be afraid to pop in to introduce yourself on the first week!
3 — Crazy things are going to happen. Like....all the time. Don't bring them home with you. As soon as you exit the doors, shake it off. All your students made it on the bus to their parents alive, so it's fine. Your job is done for the day. I've been going to the gym a lot right from school, and it's been really helpful to prevent myself from taking anything home with me so to speak.
4 — Document, document, document. Did something happen? Document it, email a copy to whoever's applicable: admin, guidance, sped, BCBA, etc. "Hello, just emailing a summary of what happened today" is not an uncommon email for me to send out. If an IEP isn't working, well at the next IEP meeting it shows they have 10 emails in the last month from you about little Timmy's hourly verbal threats and attempted physical violence to his classmates, so maybe the BCBA needs to do some data collection to adjust his BIP, or they need to give him a 1-1, or give him more resource intervention, etc.
5 — This isn't so much of advice, more like reassurance. The small moments when it clicks for a student and they get something, and then the confidence and excitement shows, it's really the best. That's probably why I've fallen so in love with working where I did. The other day, after weeks of struggling to help this student with Downs with his math, I tried a totally different approach based off a few example problems I saw in a math intervention workbook and hOLY HELL IT WORKED. It totally clicked for him, and the kid was so excited to do a problem out on the board for the class. It was amazing. Another student with an LD who I've been helping heavily school aced a quiz in one of her classes and legit ran into the room to show me. Cue me literally jumping out of my chair to high-five her, and her calling her parents to deliver the good news. Like, little things like that are really really special, and they're going to mean so much to you. And I hope you get to experience LOTS of them too!

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10 Part 11 Part 12
Tumblr media
You placed your hand on your massive bump as graduation started. You shifted a little when you felt some pain and discomfort. You waddled up and grabbed your degree and smiled at your parents, Levi and Kuchel. You held Levi’s arm as he helped you down the steps and to your seat. You sat down with a huff and watched your friends gain their degrees.
You walked with your family over to a little area for photos and smiled happily with Levi as you held your degrees up. You walked over to your parents and posed for a photo. You stood to the side and let Levi take all his pictures. You frowned a little as your pain increased and the timing between it was getting closer.
You gulped hard and looked for Levi. You locked eyes with him and he instantly knew you needed him. You held his hand as he ran over to you. “Le-Levi.”
He cupped your face. “Talk to me.”
You grabbed his robes and clenched your jaw as you endured the pain. “Sh-shit.” You shivered when it was over. “I think umm…I think I need the hospital.”
He nodded. “Okay, we’ll get you there. Remember your breathing.”
You welled up. “Levi, I’m scared.”
“It’s okay to be okay. I promise you.” He kissed you and sighed through his nose. “I’ll stay right with you.”
You smiled softly. “Promise?”
“I promise.”
You lowered your head and groaned in pain. “Fuck.”
Levi put his arm around you and helped you along. He called your parents’ names and his mother’s. “We need the hospital, now! Lilly is coming.”
Kuchel ran with your parents to the cars. “Levi, ride in the back of his car.” She called your father’s name. “Go with your wife and take her to the hospital, I will follow behind.”
“Thanks, ma.” He helped you into the car and thanked your father. He sat with you and held your hand tightly as your dad sped off. “Breathe, okay? Breathe.”
You nodded and copied how Levi was breathing. “Thank you for helping me.”
He covered your hands in kisses. “I’ll always help you and be here for you, okay?”
You whimpered a little. “Yes. I love you.”
“I love you so much.” He smiled softly. “You are incredible.”
You giggled a little. “Thank you.” You doubled over and groaned in pain. “Shit.”
Levi pushed your hair back and tied it up for you. “You’ve got this, bunny. You’ve got this.”
Your dad pulled the door open after he pulled up at the hospital. “Come on dear, out of the car.”
You stopped a moment and groaned in pain. You gritted your teeth as your father kept encouraging you to get up. “Give me a moment!” You huffed as you road out a contraction. “Sorry I shouted dad.”
He chuckled as he helped you out of his car with your mother’s help. “Don’t be sorry. You’re going through a lot right now.”
Levi ran around to you and pulled you close. “Let’s get you into a wheelchair and signed in.”
You waddled to a chair and sat down. “I need to change.”
“We’ll get you in a hospital gown in a moment, okay?”
You nodded and leaned your head back and whined. “Levi.”
Levi rushed you inside and right up to the check-in desk. “Hi, my fiancée has gone into labour.”
You looked around to see the waiting room was full of people. “Please, please don’t tell me that I will have to wait in this waiting room because I might rip someone’s spine out.”
The nurse smiled and looked at Levi. “How far along are the contractions?” She nodded as Levi gave her what she needed. “Right, we’ll get you a room right away.” She picked up the phone and called for a nurse. “Someone will come down to transport you. It’ll only be a moment.”
Levi grabbed your hand and squeezed tightly. “Squeeze my hand when it gets bad, okay?”
You clenched up as you felt pain inside you. “Levi!”
Levi followed the nurse with you and hurried as fast as he could to your room. He worked with the nurse to change you into your hospital gown. “Do you need anything at all?”
You sat on your bed as you were hooked up. “Ice please.”
“Got it.”
You sighed and talked to the nurse for a moment before you cried out in pain. “Levi!” You looked around and saw he was missing. “Levi!?” You welled up and began crying. “Levi! I need Levi.”
The nurse hushed you and carefully rubbed your back. “He’s gone to get ice. You asked him to get ice.”
You whimpered. “I need him.”
“He’ll be back soon.”
Levi hurried inside the room. “I have your ice!”
You cried when you saw Levi. “Leviiii. I need you.”
He fed you ice and rubbed your back. “I’m right here.”
“You left. Please don’t leave again.”
He kissed your forehead. “I promise. I’ll get the nurse to get your ice next time.”
You sniffed. “Levi.”
“Good girl. Can I do anything for you?”
You whimpered and nodded in response. “Rub my lower back please.”
Levi stood behind you and began rubbing and massaging your back. “You’re doing amazing.”
You smiled softly at him. “Thank you.”
The nurse hurried around you. “Waters have broken. We’ll need to check how dilated you are soon.”
You leaned over the bed and groaned in pain. You let out a long sigh when you were okay again. “Thank you.”
“Would you like an epidural when the time comes?”
You nodded. “Yes!”
The next moments went by so fast for you and Levi. After a few hours, Lilly arrived and was very plump and healthy. You took her home after two days of healing in the hospital. You, Levi, Kuchel and even Kenny worked together to care for your newborn. Levi was heartbroken that he had to work so much with Erwin to set up the security business. You missed Levi a lot, but you knew he was doing everything he could for you and Lilly.
Levi was the perfect partner and father. When he was home, he was taking care of his baby girl and showering you with as much love as possible. You had a little bed set up in Lilly’s room, so when you were on Lilly duty you’d sleep in there with her and the other would sleep in the main bed. Kat and Alyssa would visit as often as they could. Alyssa and Hange had carried on at university, but Kat did what you had. Kat helped Erwin out with the business.
You had full faith in Levi that he’d be incredibly successful and things were picking up. One night Levi even mentioned there was a celebrity interested in hiring them, which meant Levi would be away from home for two weeks. You agreed to it because you wanted nothing but the best for your man. You pushed him to keep going, no matter how much he missed you and Lilly. You made sure to always send him pictures of you both and answer all his calls and texts.
You were sleeping one night in Lilly’s room. She was sleeping through the night, so you were able to get more sleep than normal. You heard Lilly fussing and instantly woke up to see a man standing in your room holding your daughter. You gasped and shot up ready to attack, but your heart settled when your eyes adjusted to the night to see it was Levi.
Levi hushed his daughter and bounced her in his arms as he carefully fed her. He looked over at you and blushed. “She was fussing and I didn’t want to wake you.”
You welled up a little. “You’re home.”
Levi smiled softly. “I am. I’m sorry I was gone so long, but I have amazing news.”
You rubbed your tears. “What is it?”
He burped his daughter as he smiled. “We were paid so much for protecting the celeb. They want to hire us again and their friends are interested. We can hire more people! Honey, we’ve finally done it.”
You smiled brightly. “Well done. I’m so proud of you.”
He lay his daughter down before tackling you into his arms. He squeezed you tightly and cried a little. “I’m so happy. I can be home more and I can spoil you and Lilly.” He gripped you tightly. “I am so sorry I wasn’t home much. Our wedding has been delayed and I’ve not been here much for you and Lilly. Forgive me.”
You clung to your man. “You have nothing to be sorry for. You are perfect in every way. I love you so much and I’m so excited for you and Erwin.”
He nuzzled his nose against yours. “We’ll go on holiday. We’ll get married and we’ll move house.”
You giggled at how excited Levi was. “Slow down. A bit at a time, okay?”
He gave you a playful squeeze. “Yes. We should take our time.” He lifted you. “First things first.” He carried you out of the bedroom and saw his mother walking closer. “Ma?”
Kuchel perked up. “Levi! You’re home!”
Levi smiled. “Yes. Uh, could you?”
She giggled and walked past. “I’ll watch over Lilly. You two have fun.”
Levi ran with you into his room and threw you onto the bed making you squeak. He locked the door before ripping his shirt off. He panted as his erection strained against his trousers. “Are you horny?”
You rubbed your legs together. “I am now.”
He crawled up the bed. “Can I eat your pussy and fuck you?”
“Please do.”
Tumblr media
You fixed your wedding dress before turning to Kuchel as she held your one-year-old. “What do you think?”
“Perfection! I can’t believe you and Levi are finally getting married.” She welled up and sobbed a little. “I’m so proud of you both!”
Your mother wiped Kuchel’s tears away. “It’s perfect, isn’t it?”
You took Lilly from Kuchel and checked her little dress. “I’m so excited. Levi wanted it sooner, but I thought the priority was us being financially secure.” You let out a long sigh. “It’s odd to think now we’re doing so well. It took one celebrity to love Levi as a guard for their business to boom.” You blushed hard. “We now have too much money.”
“You deserve it all.”
Kuchel nodded. “Your mother is right. Levi and you deserve this. You’ve worked so damn hard.” She clapped her hands together. “So, when is baby number two?”
You laughed. “We’re waiting a bit because we’re both so young still.” You looked down at Lilly. “This one was a bit of a surprise. You fought my implant and won!” You pressed the end of her nose making her giggle. “I love you so much.”
Lilly patted your face. “Mama.”
You looked at your door and smiled as Levi opened it. “Levi?”
Kuchel huffed. “You’re not supposed to see her yet!”
Levi slipped into your room. “Sorry, I just…”
Your mother giggled. “Let them have a moment. Come on Kuchel, we are going to have a cocktail and sit in the swing in their garden.”
You waved to them as they left. “Have fun.”
Levi closed the door behind both ladies and turned to you. “You look incredible.”
“Thank you.” You put Lilly on her little feet. “You look so handsome.”
Levi ruffled his hair and chuckled. “Thanks.” He hummed as he watched his daughter stumble around. “I can’t believe everything we’ve been through and here we are getting married at our home.”
You and Levi had moved into a lovely cosy wooden home out in the countryside with a big garden and a guest house for Kuchel and Kenny. It was perfectly quiet for you to raise your daughter and to have the peace you needed. You and Levi now had the dream life you’d been talking about all these years. You were happy, but you’d never forget the hard times because they made you stronger as a couple.
Levi held your hands and then leaned down and kissed you. “I’m glad our wedding is a short thing. I just want to sign a paper and have fun.”
“Me too.”
He looked down when he felt a slap on his leg. “Oh, hello my little flower.” He picked up his daughter and smiled at her. “My beautiful little girl.” He kissed her puffy cheek making her squeal in delight. “I love you.”
You walked to the door and opened it. “You ready?”
Levi followed you with his little girl in his arms. “Yeah. I’m looking forward to finally marrying you.” He walked by your side with a grin. “Mrs Ackerman.”
You hummed a laugh. “Soon.”
He walked out into the garden into the warm summer sun. He held your hand and walked over to Erwin, who was waiting to officiate the marriage. Levi handed his daughter to Kuchel and held your hands. He smiled softly as he gazed at you. You both signed what you needed to sign before kissing to the cheers of your friends and family.
Levi held you against him as he addressed your friends and family. “Thank you everyone for coming. This means so much to us as a couple. As you all know, we’ve been through so much together but if it weren’t for every single one of you, I don’t know what we would have done. I want to thank my mother, my uncle and my in-laws from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for everything you’ve done for us. You let us stay with you, you supported us and you cared for us when we were struggling so much. We love you so much.” Levi welled up and held back sobs. “Thank you.”
You rubbed Levi’s chest as he turned and cried a little. “I’ve got this.” You cleared your throat as you held Levi. “Thank you so much. You’ve changed our lives. You believed us when things were getting rough and you stood by us all the way.” You sniffed your tears. “Athena saved me from a lot of bad people. Kat listened to me when I cried. Alyssa made me laugh so hard that I forgot the bad. Kuchel welcomed me with open arms. Kenny, you reconnected with Levi. Erwin, you stood by us when we struggled. Mike and Hange, you were incredible in distracting us.” You rubbed your tears. “Mum and dad,” you laughed at your voice crack “thank you for everything you’ve ever done for us.”
Levi turned to everyone and saw how many were crying. “Thank you. So, enough with the crying. Let’s move to the sitting area for food and drink.” He turned to you as everyone moved to where he asked. He helped you wipe your tears away. “I love you.”
You wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him. “I love you more than anything. I can’t believe we cried so much.”
Levi laughed. “I broke.” He sniffed. “Shit, the last time I cried this much was when Lilly was born.” He wrapped you up in his arms. “You make me so happy. You truly are my everything.”
“You’re mine too.” You let out a long sigh. “We should join everyone. We need to eat and give our baby lots of kisses.”
Levi chuckled. “Yes, but I want more kisses please.”
You tangled your fingers in his hair and kissed him. “You know you can have as many as you like.”
Levi yanked you against his body and lifted you a little as he pulled your lip between his teeth. He pushed his tongue into your mouth and moaned in happiness. He smiled against your lips when he grabbed your ass and made you mewl. He felt his heart sore at being able to kiss you so lovingly and passionately. He was filled with joy because he was able to marry you today, call you his wife and spend forever with you.
“I love you.” He kissed along your jawline to your neck. “I love you.” He bit and sucked your skin. “I love you.” He squeezed your ass. “I love you.”
You shivered under his touch. “I love you too. We should get back to our friends and family.”
Levi stopped kissing you. “Mm, okay.”
You cupped his face and wiggled. “Later, my love. For now, we’ll spend time with friends and family.”
Levi held you against him and hummed as he walked with you. “Yeah.”
“You’re grumpy, aren’t you?”
“Pfft. No.”
You patted his bum. “Bless you.” You spied your daughter and grinned. “I’ve got an idea to cheer you up.”
Levi frowned. “You do?”
You ran over to Kuchel and picked up your daughter. “I need to borrow my baby.”
Kuchel giggled. “Sure thing.”
You ran back to Levi and held up your daughter. “Baby!”
Lilly squealed in delight. “Dada!”
Levi whined as he felt himself melting over his little girl. “Lilly.” He took her from you and cuddled her tightly. “My sweet little girl. Did you miss me? Did you miss your daddy?”
Lilly slapped her hand against Levi’s cheek and hummed as she touched his cheek. “Dada.”
He kissed her forehead. “I love you so much. My little angel.”
You took a seat next to Kuchel and held her hand. “So, how bad?”
Kuchel laughed. “You made everyone cry hard. We all had a little chat about our memories and now we’re better.”
You giggled. “Sorry.” You watched Levi take Lilly to the dance area and joined his friends. “Look at him dancing with his daughter.”
Kuchel smiled softly. “He loves being a dad. I’m so glad everything fitted into place for you both. I always had full faith in you both.”
“Thank you.” You smiled as Athena ran over to you. “Hello.”
She grabbed your hands and yanked you to your feet. “Come on cupcake! We are dancing together.”
You stumbled behind your friend. “I’ll look so stupid.”
“You’re supposed to on your wedding day!”
You laughed as Athena spun around with you. “I adore you.”
She pulled you close and grinned. “Love you too.”
Levi danced over to you. “Excuse me, but may we have this dance?”
Athena smirked at seeing Lilly in Levi’s arms. “Who am I to refuse a princess? Your momma is all yours.”
You took Lilly from Levi and began dancing with her. “You’re so cute.”
Levi danced with you. “She’s perfect.”
Lilly whined and rubbed her eyes. “Mama.”
You kissed her forehead. “You tired?”
She nodded and hugged you. “Sleep.”
You carried your daughter to the sitting area and held her against your chest as she fell asleep. You winked at Levi as he sat next to you and put his arm around you. “This has been a perfect day.”
Levi kissed the top of your head. “It has.” He yawned a little. “Sorry. Looks like I need a nap time too.”
You leaned against Levi. “Me too. It’s been an emotional day for us.”
“I want to go to bed, but it’d be rude of us to run away from our guests.”
You closed your eyes and sighed. “You’re right. We’ll hold out just a little longer.”
Levi chuckled. “I could just tell them all to piss off.”
“No, honey.” You giggled. “Be a good boy.”
“Only for you.”
Tumblr media
You leaned your head back and panted as Levi moved so perfectly inside you. You dragged your nails across his back and moaned at the pop of pleasure that consumed your soul. You smiled as you enjoyed another spine-tingling orgasm ripping through your body. You clenched around Levi and purred when you heard him whimper before releasing his seed deep into you. You shivered at the warmth filling you and his hot breath against your neck.
Levi nuzzled the crook of your neck. “I love you.”
You panted. “I love you so much.”
He lifted his body a little allowing him to gaze down at you. “Fuck, you are so perfect.”
“Thank you.” You hummed. “You know, I’ve been thinking about our wedding anniversary and I know what we should do.”
“Oh?”
You grinned. “We should go to that hotel we both lost our virginities in.”
Levi smirked as memories of that night and the times you both went back over and over came to mind. “I love that hotel.”
“Me too.”
“DADDYYYY!”
Levi jumped off you and yanked on his PJ bottoms when he heard his son crying for him. “Evan! Daddy’s coming!”
You pulled on Levi’s shirt and little shorts. “We’re coming!”
Levi opened the door and caught his son running down the hall. “I’m here.” He lifted him and cuddled him tightly. “I’m here. What’s wrong?”
Evan whimpered. “Monster.”
You ran down the hall. “I’ll check on Lilly.” You opened your daughter’s door to see her sitting up in bed rubbing her eyes. “Lilly.”
Lilly gazed at you. “Mummy?”
You picked her up and hugged her. “Are you okay?”
She hugged you back. “Sleepy. Evan okay?”
You carried her over to Levi. “He is. He’s right here.”
“Hug.”
You put her down on her feet. “Cuddle Evan, okay?”
Levi put his son down and smiled as Lilly held her little brother’s hand. “Stay behind me and mummy, okay? We’ll check for monsters and scare them away.” Levi held your hand and walked down the hall to Evan’s room. He opened the door and inspected every inch of the room, but found nothing. “I think he had a bad dream.”
You hummed in agreement. “I think so too.”
Levi gazed at his kids standing in the doorway holding hands. “I think we should work as a team and scare the mean and nasty monsters, don’t you?”
Lilly pulled Evan into the room. “Scare the monster!”
Levi walked over to the closet. “Ready? As soon as I open the door we’ll jump out and roar at it. Go!” He threw the door open and all of you roared. “Well done! We’ll scare the one under the bed too!”
The four of you went around the room scaring away the monsters for your son. When he was happy, you tucked him back into bed and gave him a little kiss. You took Lilly to bed next and repeated what you did for Evan for her. You tucked Lilly into bed and gave her a little kiss before returning to bed. You wrapped up tightly and snuggled against Levi.
Levi held you tightly and sighed. “Thank God the monsters arrived when they did because I don’t know what I would have done if they were five minutes earlier.”
You snorted a laugh. “You’re right about that.”
“Can’t believe they’re scared of monsters.” He frowned in thought. “Wonder what made them think of that?”
“Children have very active imaginations.”
He let out a long sigh. “I know, but I just worry. I’m hoping that it wasn’t something we did.”
“No.” You kissed Levi’s cheek. “You did nothing wrong, okay? You’re a wonderful father to those sweet kids.” You yawned a little. “Now, it’s time for bed.”
Levi snuggled against you and closed his eyes. “Bed.”
You both slept soundly before getting up early for a busy day with the kids. You fed both kids before dressing them up and putting them in comfy clothes to go out in. Levi drove you all across the town to a rugby pitch. Levi couldn’t stop smiling at going back and being able to play again with the local team. He left you to sit with your friends and your kids as you waited for the match to start.
You cheered loudly as soon as Levi and Erwin with his team ran onto the pit. “Cheer daddy on you two.”
Evan jumped up and down. “GO, DADDY!”
Lilly waved her hands. “DADDY IS THE BEST!”
You giggled and started to cheer as well. “GO ON LEVI!” You watched until it was half-time, meaning it was lunch for your kids. “Come on, little babies time to eat.” You walked with them to the food stands and bought them the snacks they wanted. You led them back to their seats and cleaned their faces. “Messy.”
Lilly hummed and kicked her little legs. “Daddy is really cool.”
Evan nodded. “Cool daddy!”
You giggled. “He’s amazing, isn’t he?” You let out a long sigh. “I love your daddy so much. He used to play rugby all the time when we were at university.”
Evan gasped. “Wow!”
Lilly tilted her head. “Can I play?”
You nodded and tapped on your phone. “Yes, you can!” You turned your phone to show her footage of women’s rugby. “See? Ladies play rugby.”
“I wanna be like them and daddy.”
“Well, I’m sure your daddy would love to teach you when you’re older.”
“Yay!”
Evan sighed. “Shark.”
You ruffled Evan’s hair. “You wanna be a shark?”
“Yes.”
You kissed his little forehead. “All right, buddy.” You looked up at the pitch. “Oh, your daddy is back!”
You smiled softly as your kids cheered for Levi again. The match wasn’t even close. Erwin’s team won by a landslide, they always did. You waited for them to clean up and beamed with delight when the whole team joined you and your friends. You blushed at seeing Levi’s wet hair, which meant he had a shower and now you had the image of your husband’s dripping wet body in your head.
“Honey?”
You jumped as Levi leaned close to your face. “Huh?”
Levi kissed you. “I’ve been calling your name, but you were staring.” He frowned a little. “What were you thinking about?”
You blushed bright red. “N-nothing.”
He sat down and smirked. “Was it me in a shower?”
“Yes, now talk to your daughter ‘cause he wants to play rugby like you.”
He ruffled Lilly’s hair. “That so? Well, I will happily train you when you’re older. What about Evan?”
You smiled. “He wants to be a shark.”
“Great choice.” He looked up and smiled at seeing his mother and Kenny arrive. “Perfect timing.”
You frowned a little. “Timing?”
Levi picked up both his kids. “You two are going home with grandma and great uncle Kenny.” He handed the kids over as they giggled before taking two suitcases from his mother. “Thank you.”
You wondered over. “What is going on?”
Levi leaned over and kissed you. “We’re going away for a bit.”
“Where?”
“Say bye to the kids first.”
You showered your kid’s faces in kisses before walking with Levi to the car. “So, where?”
Levi started the car up and smirked. “You mentioned it last night.”
Your heart skipped a beat. “The hotel?”
He nodded and drove towards the hotel you both adored. “I thought we could go today.”
You welled up as you felt love consume you. “I love you so much.”
“I love you too. You’re everything to me. Not a day goes by where I don’t thank myself for taking a step in that bar that night.”
You giggled and gripped Levi’s thigh. “I’m glad too.”
Levi gripped the wheel. “Tch, shit I just want to spoil you rotten now I have the money.”
“You don’t need to. I’m happy cause I have you, Lilly and Evan.”
He hummed a laugh. “You’re so wonderful. I’m glad you feel that way, that after all these years and everything we went through, you still love me.”
“Forever and always Levi.”
He pulled up at the hotel and leaned over to you. “Forever.” He kissed you and growled a little. “My sweet bunny. Mine.”

-And I have decided I will add brief summaries instead of not giving any at all.
All Hallows' Eve Midnight
Tumblr media
As Selene stood up in her resurrected state, Michael bared all in front of everyone. He didn't even realize it from the shock of what had just occurred.
Tumblr media
You tried to refrain from looking at his splendid, yet vulnerable form but it was kind of hard not to for Michael certainly was a beautiful man.
Garrett zipped over and gathered Michael's torn clothing and brought them to the battered man that he and Craven were sent to kill 20 years ago. For a vampire with a dead heart, Garrett always found ways to prove to you it was alive. Michael slowly reached out his trembling hands and accepted the garments as Garrett offered him a kind smile, then stood before him so he could quickly dress. Once he was fully clothed, Selene ran to him and they shared the most beautiful, tender kiss.
Tumblr media
Your heart was aching. He kissed her in the same way Thranduil kissed you. Once they were finished canoodling, you did something you had never done. You ran up and hugged Selene. She gasped and held her arms extended out behind you in confusion of what she should do, for she certainly never expected such a gesture of endearment from you. She glanced at Garrett with widened eyes.
"Selene, when someone hugs you, normally you hug them back." Garrett snickered with a grin. Her arms then slowly wrapped around your back as if she were afraid she would break you.
"I am so glad you are alive and that you have the love of your life back." You released her and smiled. "I have come to think of you as my friend. I hope that is alright with you."
"I...I have never had a friend, but...I....yes...it is alright for I...I have come to think of you the same way. You...you saved my life....again. No one has ever cared for our existence like you have...well except for Michael." Selene smiled as her overbearing blue eyes gleamed with tears.
"And Michael...it is nice to finally meet you and see that you are alive. My name is Josie. I am King Thranduil's wife and Queen."
He extended his hand out with a smile to shake yours. A slight gasp escaped your lips at his searing body temperature as you grasped his hand. It was true what you had read in your fantasy novels. A werewolf's temperature was at least 108 degrees. It amazed you how a being so hot and one so cold were soulmates. Twin flames as you liked to call it.
"It is an honor to meet you Queen Josie of Mirkwood. I do know who your husband is although we have never met. The Elevenking of the Woodland Realm yes?"
Your heart smiled. "Yes, the one and only. I do not mean to be rude but I need to go. I must find him before my mother does. And...respectfully, Selene, will you be alright with Michael?" You had to ask considering he had literally just killed her and what if he shifted again.
"Selene. Her concerns are valid. You should go with Josie so you are safe." Michael urgently stated.
"No. I just got you back. I will not leave. Besides...did you think I came unprepared?" She brought her wrist up, revealing a silver bracelet with a small amulet attached. "I have worn it ever since you went missing in case I had found you. If you wear this, it will control the transformation. Yes, it is silver but not enough to harm you. You can still shift by your own control if needed but the moon will have no power over you if you bear this talisman." Selene quickly clasped it around his wrist and Michael immediately felt it's affect as it calmed him. She then turned to you. "Now....let's go get your man."
You, Julian, Garrett, Selene and Michael all sped off in search of Caroline and the Elvenking. Lestat's fortress was seemingly deserted but that was just the wing you were in. The colossal Chateau's size was immeasurable and that did not include the dungeon, endless catacombs and outside acres of grounds atop of the mammoth mountain. Finding anyone was going to be like locating a needle in a haystack. Why Thranduil, why did you have to take off without me? you thought.
The first place you headed for was Caroline's room. Every instinct in you told you there was something there. Garrett strolled beside you and had been quiet since you all had departed. You could tell his thoughts were awry. Your father's words of knowing his misdeeds towards you had really thrown him and the way Garrett had looked at the emerald earlier was that of pure disgust. A gem he was willing to kill for to claim what was rightfully his and he now wanted nothing to do with it for it also reminded him of what he had done to you. And then there was Richard addressing him as Roman, his given name....He was so ashamed of it all so he did what he did best. Turned to his humorous side to fend off having to feel real emotions.
"How cool is this though? It's like we're the Scooby Doo gang hunting the monsters. Like...your dad is Freddy cause he's tall and blonde. Selene is Velma since she's short and totally not hot...I mean literally, she's cold...and of course I'm Shaggy, you know, the tall funny guy with the crazy cool hair....and you...the hot as ever redhead Daphne. And the best yet, there's Michael who can be Scoob since he is a dog. All we're missing is the mystery machine and some Scooby snacks."
"You found it so incredibly hard to be mad at him for joking at a time like this. In fact, you adored him because he was actually able to make you unwillingly giggle. "You found it so incredibly hard to be mad at him for joking at a time like this. In fact, you adored him because he was actually able to make you unwillingly giggle.
Julian turned to Garrett with a glare. "All we are missing is my daughter's husband and you should be one that is hunted for you are a monster."
"Daddy! Please don't...he was only trying to make me feel better."
"That will be quite enough Josephine. You never could see the difference between a frog and a prince with all of your childhood fantasies but you are not a child anymore. It is time to grow up and see what is truly in front of you."
Tumblr media
Your eyes swelled with tears by his scolding of you. Your father was the sweetest gentlest man you had ever known but he had his cross side. One that made you hide under your covers when he and your mother fought. One that thwarted off the boys as you were becoming of age. Needless to say, he was a huge factor as to why you never had a boyfriend. Peter would have been dead long ago if Julian had ever gotten a hold of him.
"Athair, respectfully, the world I live in is exactly that of my childhood fantasies. It is real. You of all people should know this."
Garrett was fuming that Julian had upset you with such harsh words. "Respectfully, it seems you are a warlock and a spook all rolled into one. I believe that makes me not the only monster that is present." Garrett projected sarcastically with pursed lips as his blue eyes then glowed of red and his clenched fists that hung at his sides glowed of fiery orange.
"Whoa! Stop. Both of you!" you shouted as you physically intervened between them with one hand on each of their chests.
"Spook might be a term in your cartoon world pertaining to ghosts, and some may also use it in a different classification to refer to my profession but the proper term is Shadowhunter." Julian snarled.
"Shadow....hunter? Wh...what is that?" you asked.
"It means he hunts those like me Josephine. Witches, vampires, demons, werewolves. The list is infinite of the evil that is out there. In fact, he hunts his own kind...his brother Jareth, but with just cause." Garrett explained.
"But...Garrett...Michael...Selene...none of them are evil father! You will harm none of them! So how about we focus on the ones that are, like Caroline and Raven!" you snapped and stomped off into your mother's corridors as if you were still that rebellious teenager.
"I refrain from doing my duties only because of my beauty's affections for such beasts but it does not pardon you, for if you harm my child in any way, I will unleash a hell you have never known." Julian then continued into Caroline's chambers.
You began scavenging through Caroline's belongings. Her sizable vanity held quite the arranged display of ritual like attributes. You noticed the clock on the wall....12:20 am....and your heart began palpitating. As you frantically fumbled through the cluster, you caught sight of yourself in the mirror and had to look twice. Then you screamed as you saw your neck. It had some strange symbol on it that resembled a tattoo. Garrett was at your side in milliseconds.
"Josephine...what is wrong??"
Your eyes were wide with confusion and fear as you pulled your hair to the side and stared at it.
Tumblr media
"My Jo...do not fear." Julian whispered as he then stood behind you. "It is a rune. A mark of your clairvoyance. I bear one as well on my forearm. My powers have awoken yours from our first touch. You are truly now a Shadowhunter yourself."
You couldn't stop gazing at yourself. "I do not know what this means, but if it means I am destined to hunt evil beings, I don't want it! I have had my fill of evil to last me an eternity. I just want to go back to when I was happy with Thranduil! When nothing could touch us!" A memory flashed through the mirror that only you could see. A time when all was right in the world with you, your King, Legolas and Tauriel. Your wedding reception. You were all so carefree, even the Elvenking. He was laughing. A rarity that was. He was finally happy. You finally had your happily ever after. All of your little family was laughing in slow motion before your very eyes and they were all yours and you were theirs.
Tumblr media
You squished your eyes shut, forcing all of the tears out that teetered on your lower lids. Haldir's voice echoed in your mind. "You cannot go back."
You gasped and sprung your eyes open. "Like hell I can't!" You immediately began rummaging again. "There has to be something here that...."
And there it was...underneath a pile of books. A spell for October 31st on the full moon with the word Elvenking written in blood...and then under that was another paper and the first word that popped out to you was....chamomile....the one thing your father always drank.
Tumblr media
"That bitch!! She did some ritual against my husband! I knew it! I knew she did something. So many omens pointed to it." you began to sob and shiver. Julian picked up the paper underneath it.
"This one...it is the spell she had placed upon myself. All of the ingredients used in her red clover syrup are listed." Julian reeled in fury.
You jumped as the clock chimed 2 times at half past midnight. Out of the room you raced as every tick of the clock's hand could be felt like a pulse in your chest. Everyone then chased after you.
Thranduil, Legolas and Haldir were quite far off near an old broken down stone building that appeared to be one of the many entry ways to the catacombs. Thranduil had picked up her scent earlier and followed it there. The crow circled above in the bright moonlit sky cawing 3 times. The moon was so full, it almost appeared to be daylight. Haldir peered up at the bird he had many encounters with on yours and his endeavors and knew of his warnings. Warnings that held true every time he came around. Luckily for you, he had warned Haldir of Alfrid's evil in Laketown which in turn aided him in saving you from the putrid man's disgusting intentions upon you. The prophetic black bird was one not to be ignored or taken lightly. As connected as Thranduil was with animals, he paid him no attention as he scoured the area.
Thranduil stopped for a moment as his sight went blurry. "Adar...are you alright??" Legolas asked in concern as he steadied his father by taking ahold of his arm.
The King yanked his arm free. "I am fine. Let us keep moving. She is near."
Legolas and Haldir then cautiously carried on behind him. Haldir knew Caroline was indeed near as he felt her evil immensely.
And she certainly was.... watching them all like a lioness on the prowl.
Tumblr media
Thranduil suddenly picked up your scent and his eyes went wild searching for you. "Josephine!" he called to you and darted off to follow your trail of aroma that flowed through the brisk breeze. He halted to focus as he caught a glimpse of you heading towards the catacombs with your knife in hand. At least he believed it to be you as your smell invaded his keen elven senses.
Tumblr media
"Thranduillllll." Your voice called to him in a teasing matter. It echoed through his mind in a muffled tone. All of his senses were shutting down causing him dire confusion.
Another muffled voice called out. "Adar! Stop...it is not her! It is the witch!" Legolas grabbed his father's arm.
Tumblr media
Thranduil spun around with an angry disoriented mien on his face and then drew and began wielding his swords at Legolas and Haldir with lost eyes. "Keep your distance!" Thranduil was in a state of dementia and stormed off after you, the one thing that kept his focus.
Legolas and Haldir began to trek after him until Raven reared her ugly head, fangs and all.
"Hello boys. Miss me?"
Tumblr media
Legolas and Haldir swiftly drew their bows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thranduil entered the broken stone fixture in a disarray with his swords sheathed as his eyes shambled about.
Tumblr media
He no more than turned the corner and there Caroline stood with malevolent eyes as a piercing hot sting sliced into his core just beneath his armor. Thranduil's mouth hung open in shock while Caroline cackled.
Tumblr media
"Goodnight sweet King. Lights out."
Tumblr media
Just as Legolas fired his arrow, Raven vanished before his eyes.
Tumblr media
The Prince then charged off after his father with Haldir in pursuit.
Tumblr media
As both the furious and frantic elves scrambled inside where Thranduil had entered, he nor Caroline was not anywhere to be seen. Legolas was stopped dead in his tracks as he smelled something. He took a few more curious steps and halted. There at his feet was a small pool of blood. He squatted down and dipped the tip of his finger into it, then brought it to his nose. Legolas' face grew grim and pale as he breathed it in, then tumbled back onto his butt with fearsome eyes. "Adar...." he whispered.
You and your company had seen Legolas and Haldir enter the stone structure and came rushing inside.
"Thranduil!!!!" you screamed.
There sat Legolas on the ground staring at his bloodied fingertip and Haldir peering down at him with dismay. Then you smelled it. Your husband's blood. You could never forget it from the time he was shot with Malsin's arrow or when the vampires attacked him at Peter's cabin. You dropped to your knees in front of Legolas like a sack of potatoes, searching for air.
Tumblr media
You finally found a breath and sputtered out your words in a shrill cry. "Wh...where is...my...husband!!!"

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The boys still pointed their guns at the guy, and I had mine against the guys head. "You have a bounty on your fucking head, you stupid bitch." They said, and I frowned. "Aww. Was that supposed to hurt my feelings?" I pouted, shaking my head. "You realize f/n is dead, right?" I whispered, and the guy froze again. "Stop lying!" He yelled, and I laughed loudly. "Call him. Prove me wrong." I said, and he did as told. I heard the voicemail, smirking as it was my father's voice screaming for mercy and in pain. "You stupid bitch!" The guy yelled, trying to grab my wrists. I jumped up, kicking him as I spun, successfully knocking him off. "Now you're pissing me off." I sighed, and he growled, lunging again. I shot at his leg, and he screamed in pain as he fell down, clutching his knee in hand. "Now, I'm going to take off. If any of you follow, the next bullet is going in your head." I glared, walking out as the boys followed.
As I passed the counter, the lady call out for me. "Ms. y/n! Wait." She said, and I stopped, turning around. "Here you are. I'm so sorry about them!" She handed me a plastic bag, bowing 90 degrees afterwards. "Please, stand up. It's okay. Thank you so much." I smiled, patting her shoulder. I walked out, unlocking the car as we got in, the bikers all standing by the front of the restaurant. I drove off, and not even 2 minutes later, a bunch of single headlights were behind me. I groaned loudly, glancing behind me in the mirror. "Seungmin." I called, and he grabbed the wheel as I grabbed the gun from Jeongin. I rolled the window down, holding the pistol tightly as I sat on the window sill. "Hold her steady, Min." I called out and he nodded, going the same speed and going as straight as possible. I aimed the gun, staring directly at the guy, smirking lightly.
I breathed out before pulling the trigger, a loud pop being all I heard. There were only 3 other motorcycles, and I aimed at them too. 3 more pops were all I heard as I cheered slightly, getting back in the car through the window. I saw Jeongin had climbed to the front, also looking back. Seungmin smiled at me as I sat on his lap, and I smiled brightly. "Got 'em!" I cheered, and he chuckled, shifting to 6th as we sped off, all of us laughing. When we pulled into the yard, I saw the garage already door open, and everyone was standing there. I got out of the car, Seungmin and Jeongin following. I sat on the hood of my car as everyone piled in front of it. "What?" I asked, holding the bowl of hot noodles the girl gave me. "What the hell is this?" Chan said, tossing his phone at us. I realized they were all suited up.
The bell went off in my head as Seungmin and Jeongin looked at the picture before they showed me. I laughed as I saw me sticking out of the car window, aiming the gun at the people. "Oh, yeah. We had some bikers come after us. Nothing bad though." I said, and Chan sighed, rubbing his temples. "You could've gotten hurt." "You should've called us." "We would've come to help you." Some said, and I slurped my noodles as I stared at them all. "Could've, should've, would've." I said, and Felix slightly laughed. All of them except Chan and Minho left the garage, and I groaned as I knew what he was going to say. "Save your breath, Christopher." I glared, throwing my noodles away as he looked confused. "You can go with the others while we talk it out. That's what you were going to say, no?" I smiled, and he stared at me bewildered before just turning and leaving.
I turned to Minho, pushing myself off the car as I got into it. "Get in." I said simply, starting the car as he didn't protest, getting in. I drove off, going down the night streets, lampposts lighting here and there. I parked the car as we reached our destination, getting out and locking the car once he got out.
Tumblr media
I walked to the bench, sitting down as I stared at the city. "I'm sorry." He mumbled, but I didn't say anything, just scooting closer as I rested my head on his shoulders. "Forgiven, Forgotten. Even though it hurt, I won't hold a grudge. We both were stupid and it should have never happened." I said, and he shook his head. "You shouldn't forgive me so easily. I brought up what they did to you, and blamed it on you. Y-you should hate me." He said, and I chuckled, looking up at him as I grabbed his face. "Hate you? Please, that could never happen." I smiled softly, and he smiled, leaning down as our lips connected, our lips moving perfectly in sync with one another.
We stayed like that for a while before we needed air, pulling away with smiles. "Ready to go home?" I asked, and he nodded, grabbing my hand as we got up. He opened my door for me, and I smiled as he still let me drive. He rushed in the other side, and I smiled. I drove home once again that night, happy with the way things were. We pulled in the driveway, parking in the garage as Jeongin and Jisung ran out. I smiled as Jeongin picked me up bridal style, rushing back into the house. "Innie, I have legs, ya know?" I giggled, and he smiled, setting me down besides Seungmin. "Yeah, but you would have taken forever to get over here." He said, and I smacked him softly, shaking my head. "So, what's going on?" I asked, and everyone smiled, turning to me as they chuckled. "What now?" I whined and groaned, already knowing we had another mission.

Left, Left, Right, then Left again….There it is! (y/n) quickly ran over to the cafe she was told to get 3 things: a donut for her, a Cinnamon bun for her friend Ignis, and lastly an apple fritter for her mother. (y/n) reached the little cafe, Java Hut. She stepped inside and walked over to the counter where 12 other people were standing. Well I guess I have to wait at least I don't have to be anywhere-Wait didn't Ignis say she was gonna take me to that concert at that place The BlackTail gig? (y/n) looked over at the clock on the wall to see there was still 2 hours before the concert started and her house was only down the road, Now it just depends on how long it takes for her to get the food
               {In Spongebob Narrator voice}  1 hour later……
Finally! (y/n) though as she finally was able to get her food. She took it from the cashier as he gave her an apologetic look “I am so sorry about your wait” He bowed to her. “It's okay, don't worry about it!” (y/n) smiled at him, paid and left the little Cafe. Wait, it's a person I banged into?!?!?! How fit are they??? (y/n) quickly snapped out of her gaze when the person stood up-and holy he was tall. She bowed at a 90 degree angle and started apologizing furnishly. “I am so so so so sorry about banging into you i wasn't looking and-” “Hey stand up its okay it's also kinda my fault” the male said as he scratched his neck and she stood up and got a good look at him. He had grayish hair and was wearing a black hoodie over a pair of dark blue jeans along with a red sweater around his waist, and his eyes…..wow, They were a light brown color and they glimmered in the sun as if they were made of pure diamond. “Oh! It's okay…..” She said as she tried to think of a way to find out his name, little did she know that the pretty male was thinking the same thing. The pretty male looked down at something on the ground so she did the same only to see her food on the ground. Aw shuck I'm gonna have to go back and its probably super duper busy there. “Eh….. I'm really sorry about making you drop your food” Before she can say anything to the pretty male counties' “How about We exchange numbers and pick a time to meet again and we go to a cafa or a restaurant and I pay for your food?” The pretty male says as he tilts his head slightly to the side. Cute. Wait wait wait is he asking me out on a date??? OMG a pretty male i just met just ASK. ME. OUT?!?!?!!?!  Semi took her silence for anger or disgust. “Well we don't have to go if you don't want…..” the pretty male muttered as he rubbed the back of his neck. “N-NO I would love to!” she yelled, jumping slightly when she realized that he thought she was mad. “Okay good, can I have your number?” He raised one of his eyebrows. “Of course, here” She quickly took her phone out of her pocket to write it down. They exchanged numbers quickly and she realized that she was giving this pretty stranger her number, but they didn't even know each other's names. “I'm (l/n) (y/n)” she said as she bowed. “Semi Eita” he bowed back at her. She looked at her phone and gasped. “I really got to Semi-Kun, it was nice meeting you!” She called as she started to back away. “Bye (l/n)-Chan,  you too! She started to run to her house hoping that her mom and Ignis wouldn't get mad for dropping the food.
She reached her house in a matter of minutes and unlocked the doors and called out to Ignis and her Mother. “Welcome back dear” her mother smiled at her, her (e/c) eyes brightened up as she saw her daughter but dulled when she saw that she didn't have a bag of food in her hand. “Hey (n/n) you got lost didn't you?” Ignis questions as she jumps down the stairs and walks over to (y/n). “Well actually I met someone…” she said as she bit her lip trying to hold back a smile. Ignis wiggled her eyebrows at her best friend “was it a booooooy?” now they even had her mothers attention. “Yes, Yes it was-” “come on tell us everything!” and she did.

Also in other things that happened today besides giving myself 2nd degree burns and etc etc is thst a woman almost ran over my fucking dog with her car. She should have stopped at the stop sign especially bc I was already halfway across the street but instead she sped up and was about a foot from running him under her wheels. I was so upset. I’m still so upset. I hate Massachusetts drivers

The Rats Don’t Run the City, the Heat Does
If you have been to any major city, I’m almost certain that you have run into what many like to call your average “city rat”. However, you might have mistaken them for something much larger, such as a squirrel or raccoon, as they tend to be exceptionally bigger than your typical non-urbanized rodent. Arianne Cohen, journalist for the Fast Company, put it best in her recent article entitled “Nothing to see here. Just city rats getting bigger and bigger”, when she explains that she wouldn’t be surprised if you ran into one of these rats and say, “jumped onto a car hood … or took a quarter-mile detour when a gargantuan rat emerged from a sidewalk garbage bag and sped fearlessly in your direction” (Cohen, 2021). These common encounters have distorted one’s perception of these urbanized rodents, yet they ultimately operate with the same purpose as humans, trying to find food, water, and shelter, and are often affected by the same issues that we face today, with one major problem being the process of the urban heat island effect.
If you haven’t heard of this process, it majorly deals with the increased temperatures that many heavily urbanized areas face through the effects of global warming and climate change. Chelsea Harvey journalist for the Scientific American, an award-winning authoritative scientific media outlet noted in her recent article titled “Urban Heat Islands Mean Warming Will Be Worse in Cities”, that “the ‘urban heat island’ effect, can raise temperatures in cities by several degrees compared with their surroundings, [creating] a risk to human health as growing urban populations exacerbates the heating effect of climate change” (Harvey, 2020). If you ask me, it seems like something must be done to combat this on-going issue, but I’ll let you guys be the judge of that.
Tumblr media
Over the past few centuries, highly populated and urbanized areas of the United States have been faced with increased temperatures as compared to non-urbanized areas, resulting in daytime temperatures that are, on average, 1-7℉ higher in major cities, especially in more humid regions of the U.S., like the East Coast (EPA, 2023). Through this process the term Urban Heat Island effect was coined during the late 19th century in hopes of bringing awareness to this process and starting to help combat it. However, with the rise of global warming and increased urbanization, many areas have had detrimental losses of vegetation and the implementation of more materials that make up sidewalks and pavements, which don’t absorb the heat but rather reflect it, creating elevated temperatures and leading to a more prevalent display of this process. Also, the loss of vegetation can create many more issues for rats, as it disrupts the ability to obtain natural sources of food, shading, and shelter.
So why worry about the rats you may ask? Well, taking a rat-infested city like Washington D.C. into account, the fourth most rat-infested city in America, according to an annual list of the Top 50 Rattiest Cities by the pest control company Orkin, one can only assume that this urban heating effect has drastic effects on the success and prevalence of these rodents (Orkin, 2022).  However, you may be wondering what’s the harm, other than human effects, in displacing such animals and ultimately reducing the overall population in major cities? See that’s the controversial part, it all depends on who you ask. Personally, I tend to agree with scholars like Chelsea Himsworth, director for the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative, University of British Columbia, who believes that feelings towards rats should not be seen as negative but instead, “we need to recognize that the city is an ecosystem and that rats live here too” (Himsworth, 2019). While others like Gerard Brown, a man who has lived in Washington D.C. all his life, says “rodents cause property damage, chew on electrical wires that can start fires and can spread disease, although that is extremely rare in cities” (Chason, 2017). The reason that I agree with Himsworth’s stance is because I believe all animals should have an equal opportunity to thrive in an environment. We as humans should respect animals as we demand the same respect in return.
No matter what stance you take on the rat issue, it still important to gain understanding of how urban heating island effect is creating issues for the size of these animals. To do this however, one must know about Bergmann’s Rule, a rather simple concept that explains that animals in colder climates tend to be bigger in size, while in warmer climates it said that animals tend to be smaller. In the case of highly urbanized areas like Washington D.C., I know this rule may be hard to believe, as the size of the rats seem quite large, yet overtime, this rule might prove to be true. With increased temperatures from climate change and global warming, along with the increased display of the urban heat island, temperatures will continue to rise in cities compared to other places and the effects that are outlined in Bergmann’s Rule will become more prevalent. Unless of course, the urban heat island effect, might be showing the opposite effect?
While very confusing to understand from the surface, the urban heat island effect is caused by loss of vegetation and creates further issues with sustaining the remaining vegetation left. This requires rats to search outside of their natural diet, forcing them to examine other parts of the city which includes a lot of trash that is considered very unhealthy for a regular rat’s diet. Many researchers have tried to study this and have hypothesized “that the mammals are growing bigger because cities provide something of a TV-dinner-on-the-couch lifestyle: easy access to calorie-dense food, less need to scavenge, and fewer predators…” (Cohen, 2021).
Tumblr media
This in turn, could severely impact the overall health of these rats and make them larger and more densely populated. In the scholarly article titled, “Urban heat island effect and rodent body condition”, researcher Brittany Allen investigates how the urban heat island effect is affecting rodents’ health and body conditions. Having captured 116 adult pocket mice and Merriam’s kangaroo rats around the Phoenix, Arizona area, Allen analyzed the bodily conditions of these rodents using accurate and noninvasive quantitative magnetic resonance. Allen looked at how the change in temperature from the urban heat island effect is creating differences in certain physical attributes such as storage of energy rich fat, survival, and reproduction when compared to areas that aren’t being affected by the urban heat island effect. The study found that the continuing negative ramifications were supported by the increased display of the urban heat island, and this in turn, could ultimately affect the survival of these rats especially in hotter seasons like Summer and Spring, reducing the overall sighting of rats in urban areas (Allen, 2021). Furthermore, increased temperatures can create issues for rats as it pertains to dehydration, which can result in a weakened immune system and a higher susceptibility to diseases. This not only creates health issues for rats, but pulls human into the equation, pushing for further need to help combat the effects of urban heat islands. Unless of course you just want a disease outbreak!
Behavior and Habitat changes is also something that has been put into question since the effects of urban heat islands has become more prevalent. City rats, specifically brown rats usually adapt to these urban environments wherever they can find an abundance of food. As a result of the urban heat island affect, there is a reduced availability for water in urban areas, which can force rats to seek out cooler areas, leading them to seek refuge underground in the sewers. This has led to numerous issues in major cities, and more specifically the Washington D.C. area. According to Beth Mole writer for the ars  TECHNICA, “in a report released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, DC health officials rate out the first two known cases of hantavirus spillover in the city” (Mole, 2022). Cases like these represents some of the possible effects of rats going into the sewers, which is growing in number as rats are seeking cooler areas because of increased temperatures. Also, urban heat island effects are disrupting the nocturnal patterns of city rats, but elevated nighttime temperatures are leading to increased sightings during the daytime as rats believe that its nighttime in some areas, ultimately increasing possible human encounters. This could explain why you see them a lot more during both daytime and nighttime hours, or at least I do.
Through you might find city rats to be quite disgusting or maybe even cute, there’s a point where you must realize that a problem is present. With increasing temperatures and the developing effects of urban heat islands, city rats are at risk for becoming increasingly malnourished and displaced from their current habitat. This in turn, is opening the door to several issues most of which could negatively impact humans. From great susceptibility to catching diseases, to denser population of rats in more urbanized areas, the time is now to start to try and combat this ongoing process before it becomes too late to reverse its affects. Not only that, but hopefully from hearing about these issues you begin to question how this process is affecting humans beyond just feeling the elevated heat. So, the next time you see a city rat scurrying in the street remember that, while they may be scary, they ultimately have to same goal in mind, to thrive in an ecosystem that that is inherently just as much theirs as it is ours.

5 — Losing At Play
retrace
The building was one of three in a semicircle. Ours was in the middle, and when I stepped out I could see the children standing outside the instructors’ quarters. It was not a long walk, and I halted to ponder what I would say to the girl.
[What a prey says is of no importance.]
Our not-friendship was at that point unraveling, but I thought I should still bid her some sort of fare well. Leaning against the wall, I racked my brains and scoured my heart. There were plenty of memories and emotions to sift through: she was, after all, my actual seatmate.
We also were seldom together after lessons, and even in class we were not always in the same company. She was often attended to by friends, real and fake, while I was usually occupied with taking notes, revising notes, completing assignments, or something else which prevented me from mingling much with the other children. Whenever I did join in games, I would very often lose, or cause the team I happened to be with, lose.
I was aware that this did not endear me to the other kids. The girl also told me so herself.
The children in front of me raced ahead, as lithe and agile as I could never be. We were separated into two groups, lined up behind two pieces of an old broken beam, listening in different degrees of attention to the instructor for this lesson. She marched to and fro, unmindful of the haze and how much it wearied us children.
“Kick your feet up!” she yelled. “I want to see your legs as you run!”
As they waited for their turn, the children were speaking amongst themselves.
"The haze is worse than usual."
"I'm so hungry."
"So am I."
"I wasn't able to eat before getting here."
"Well, this class will be over soon, and ..."
"What? We get to eat afterwards?" A slight chuckle rippled around the group.
"... we can go back inside, at least."
Meanwhile, I fidgeted nervously in my place. The material of the white shirts we wore for outdoor exercises felt coarse, while the shorter blue skirt felt a little too tight, both of which did nothing to settle my discomfort.
“Go around the obstacles — no, around them! They’re not decorations!” the instructor was saying.
I glanced over at the girl. Unlike me, she was waiting calmly for her turn. “I really don't think I can do this,” I said.
“Don't be a baby,” she said languidly, without so much as a glance.
“Anyone who drops that stick will have to take five steps back!”
Unfortunately for her, I was not quite deterred. “Can I be excused?” I pleaded.
Now the girl stared at me in unconcealed scorn. “No,” she enunciated, “you can’t ask to be excused.”
This, of course, was not what I wanted to hear. “Maybe if the instructor —”
“She’ll say the same thing.”
“But I —”
“Shut up! It's your turn! Go!”
I sped off, just as I was told. Or, at least, I scuttled forward in some manner, my feet plodding heavily against the ground. I was flailing, and I knew it. What I didn't know was how to run properly. It was no surprise that my knees gave out under me, and I fell over without even stumbling.
My teammates groaned, while the kids on the opposing team burst into laughter and more cheers. I picked myself off the dirt; a slow process, with the stifling shame bearing me down, as the other kid ran around the obstacle and rushed past.
I had only just stood up when the next child was making his way forward. Then, without warning, he tripped, and likewise fell on the dark gray dirt.
I set aside my embarrassment and went over to help. This to me was the obvious course of action, which I set upon gladly and without complaint.
The instant I did so, all the children protested in unison.
“That's not how you play the game!” whined one of them loudly.
“She is such an idiot!” yowled another.
“Why is she one of our best girls?”
I ignored the barrage of insults, none of which was new to me. With a smile, I reached out my hand to the boy.
He shoved it away. “I'm fine,” he muttered, gruffly.
“But you're hungry,” I said.
“What?”
“Didn't you say you haven't eaten yet for today?”
He glanced around furtively. “I didn't say that.”
“Yes, you did. I heard you.”
“You heard nothing.”
“And now you look ill, too. You don't need to be ashamed of —”
“Shut up!”
The instructor, who was standing in the midst of us children, smirking at the scene, finally spoke up. “Pay attention!” she called out, striding deliberately to the front of the crowd. “Seldom do you see an important lesson effectively demonstrated by your fellow pupils, so be sure to take heed. Because this, children, is how failures happen.” She pointed towards the boy and I, but I remember her looking only at me.
“All of you know how things are in this world. The lands have yielded much less than usual these past several cycles. Those that manage the crops have little for themselves, and the few that can provide demand steep prices.
“And we can only look forward to more difficulties. The wars have not ceased, and the battles are now fought closer and closer to our homes. I am sure that you children know of those that follow after the fighting. Yes, I can see you know. If you didn't want to be reminded about any of this, then blame your fellow student over there!"
They all turned accordingly as she pointed again, and this time directly at me.
“Dangers encroach on us every day. We who must deal with them can only do so much,” and she added, muttering, “especially with all the opposition from cowards and fools.” She shook her head for an instant, then she went on. “We have to rely on you, young children. We need you to raise us out of the squalor of this existence. Otherwise — we will have no other choice except —” Here the instructor faltered. Her mouth quivered, and her head sank somewhat.
When she resumed, her voice was even more bitter. “With everything that hangs upon her, this girl chose to be a nuisance.”
She ended her monologue at last. The boy next to me slinked off and hid himself behind the rest of the children, all of whom were looking at me. Often, when teachers are making their speeches, students leave off listening at some point or another. I’ve seen my fellow students, their minds straying, though their eyes remained on the teacher. But in that silence, every single one of them was glaring at me.
The instructor tossed her head. “This has made me very uncomfortable,” she said. “I must find something to soothe myself, later … and our primary student will provide valuable assistance.”
She looked at the girl, who immediately stepped forward.
“She is the one who can be relied on. Let her be an example,” the instructor added pointedly. And with that, she dismissed us.
I stood in the haze, waiting for the kids to go back inside our room. When I stepped in, they were mostly done changing out of their outdoor work uniform. A few who had somehow remained clean kept on one or the other part of the attire, chatting amongst themselves.
I found my own uniform on the floor, stomped and trampled on.
Slowly I bent myself towards the floor. There were several snickerings as I quietly gathered my rumpled garments, but I knew that asking who the culprit was would be worse than useless. I pressed my lips to stifle a sigh.
One of the girls in the row before mine cackled. “Did you hear that? She’s about to cry!” she announced to the class. Her voice, to me, was loud enough for the entire building.
The children laughed as I stood up and faced her.
“Look at the baby,” she sneered. “Tell me, best girl, how’s it feel to be the worst kid in the whole school?”
I shrugged. “It’s not fun,” I said, and the children laughed again.
“You must be so envious,” she went on. “Aren’t you? You are, aren’t you?”
“Of what?” I asked.
“‘Of what’, she says. You mean, of who!”
I sighed again. “Who, then?”
“Don’t pretend to be all noble! You — how couldn’t you be envious?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I said, because I really didn’t know.
“Don’t use your big words with me! You ruined the game for everyone! I don’t care if you’re one of the best girls, I — I’ll hang you by that black mess you call your hair!”
I don’t know if I was frightened, since I didn’t really believe the threat. The hate behind it, however, was real. But I think I was more fatigued than afraid. The exhaustion from the game, the heat, and the continuous insults has quite wearied me.
I think I said “I guess you will”, whereupon she pushed me; and I, neither the strongest nor well-balanced, promptly fell over.
I was able to brace myself with my arms; I don't know how. But I still hit my head. The crack of the impact sounded like a bang, and the disarray of my senses almost overwhelmed the pain. In my confusion I could barely attend to the pummelling that she let loose on me. I cannot even tell how hard she was punching. What I remember is the vindictiveness of her grunts and yells.
“Take that, and that, you loser!” she shouted, with many more words, again and again, as our classmates cheered her on.
When she finally stood up, she shouted, “I gave her what she deserved!” to the equally loud approval of the other children.
But perhaps she didn't beat me enough, as I began to crawl upright even as she was jumping about in victory.
“She's still awake,” someone said as I propped myself up on a desk.
“Hit her again! Knock her out this time!”
She sneered as I wobbled unsteadily. “Who said you can get yourself off the floor?”
I drew in a ragged breath. “Not you,” I answered, and a few of our classmates let out a mocking taunt as I picked up my trampled garments.
“I should shut up that mouth of yours — permanently.”
“Well,” I said, “You’re very strong, and obviously I'm unable to stop you. But in the meantime, I need to change out of this uniform.”
And with that, I headed out to the back of the building, where I could be alone with other discarded items. No one tried to stop me.

The Scholar’s Story (1853) by Elizabeth Gaskell
I PERCEIVE a general fear on the part of this pleasant company, that I am going to burst into black-letter, and beguile the time by being as dry as ashes. No, there is no such fear, you can assure me? I am glad to hear it; but I thought there was. At any rate, both to relieve your minds and to place myself beyond suspicion, I will say at once that my story is a ballad. It was taken down, as I am going to repeat it, seventy-one years ago, by the mother of the person who communicated it to M. Ville-marqué when he was making his collection of Breton Ballads. It is slightly confirmed by the chronicles and Ecclesiastical Acts of the time; but no more of them or you really will suspect me. It runs, according to my version, thus.
I.
SOLE child of her house, a lovely maid, In the lordly balls of Rohan played.
Played till thirteen, when her sire was bent To see her wed; and she gave consent.
And many a lord of high degree Came suing, her chosen knight to be;
But amongst them all there pleased her none Save the noble Count Mathieu alone;
Lord of the Castle of Trongoli, A princely knight of Italy.
To him so courteous, true, and brave, Her heart the maiden freely gave.
Three years since the day they first were wed In peace and in bliss away had sped,
When tidings came on the winds abroad That all were to take the cross of God.
Then spake the Count like a noble knight: "Aye first in birth should be first in fight!
"And, since to this Paynim war I must, Dear cousin, I leave thee here in trust.
"My wife and my child I leave to thee; Guard them, good clerk, as thy life for me!"
Early next morn, from his castle gate, As rode forth the knight in bannered state,
Down the marble steps, all full of fears, The lady hied her, with moans and tears -
"The loving, sweet lady, sobbing wild - And, laid on her breast, her baby child.
She ran to her lord with breathless speed, As backward he reined his fiery steed;
She caught and she clasped him round the knee; She wept, and she prayed him piteously:
"Oh stay with me, stay! my lord, my love! Go not, I beg, by the saints above;
"Leave me not here alone, I pray, To weep on your baby's face alway!"
The knight was touched with her sad despair, And fondly gazed on her face so fair;
And stretched out his hand, and stooping low, Raised her up straight to his saddle-bow;
And held her pressed to his bosom then, And kissed her o'er and o'er agen.
"Come, dry these tears, my little Joan; A single year, it will soon be flown!"
His baby dear in his arms he took, And looked on him with a proud, fond look:
"My boy, when thou'rt a man," said he, Wilt ride to the wars along with me?"
Then away he spurred across the plain, And old and young they wept amain;
Both rich and poor, wept every one; But that same clerk - ah! he wept none.
II.
The treacherous clerk, one morning-tide, With artful speeches the lady plied:
"Lo! ended now is that single year, And ended too is the war, I hear;
"But yet, thy lord to return to thee, Would seem in no haste at all to be.
"Now, ask of your heart, my lady dear, Is there no other might please it here?
"Need wives still keep themselves unwed, E'en though their husbands should not be dead?"
"Silence! thou wretched clerk!" cried she, "Thy heart is filled full of sin, I see.
"When my lord returns, if I whisper him, Thou knows't he'll tear thee limb from limb!"
As soon as the clerk thus answered she He stole to the kennel secretly.
He coiled to the hound so swift and true, The hound that his lord loved best, he knew.
It came to his call - leapt up in play; One gash in the throat, and dead it lay.
As trickled the blood from out the throat, He dipped in that red ink and wrote:
A letter he wrote, with a liar's heed, And sent it straight to the camp with speed.
And these were the words the letter bore: "Dear lord, your wife she is fretting sore;
"Fretting and grieving, your wife so dear, For a sad mischance befallen here.
"Chasing the doe on the mountain-side, Thy beautiful greyhound burst and died."
The Count so guileless then answer made, And thus to his faithless cousin said:
"Now, bid my own little wife, I pray, To fret not for this mischance one day.
"My hound is dead - well! money have I Another, when I come back, to buy.
"Yet say she'd better not hunt agen, For hunters are oft but wildish men."
III.
The miscreant clerk once more he came, As she wept in her bower, to the peerless dame,
"O lady, with weeping night and day, Your beauty is fading fast away."
"And what care I though it fading be, When my own dear lord comes not to me!
"Thy own dear lord has, I fancy, wed Another ere this, or else he's dead.
"The Moorish maidens though dark are fair, And gold in plenty have got to spare;
"The Moorish chiefs on the battle plain Thousands of valiant as he have slain.
"If he's wed another - Oh curse, not fret; Or, if he's dead - why, straight forget!"
"If he's wed another I'll die," she said; "And I'll die likewise, if he be dead!"
"In case one chances to lose the key, No need for burning the box, I see.
"'Twere wiser, if I might speak my mind, A new and a better key to find."
"Now hold, thou wretched clerk, thy tongue, 'Tis foul with lewdness - more rotten than dung."
As soon as the clerk thus answered she, He stole to the stable secretly.
He looked at the lord's own favourite steed, Unmatched for beauty, for strength and speed;
White as an egg, and more smooth to touch, Light as a bird, and for fire none such;
On nought had she fed, since she was born, Save fine chopped heath and the best of corn,
Awhile the bonny white mare he eyed, Then struck his dirk in her velvet side;
And when the bonny white mare lay dead, Again to the Count he wrote and said:
"Of a fresh mischance I now send word, But let it not vex thee much, dear lord
"Hasting back from a revel last night, My lady rode on thy favourite white -
"So hotly rode, it stumbled and fell, And broke both legs, as I grieve to tell."
The Count then answered, "Ah! woe is me My bonny white mare no more to see?
"My mare she has killed; my hound killed too Good cousin, now give her counsel true.
"Yet scold her not either; but, say from me, To no more revels at night must she.
"Not horses' legs alone, I fear, But wifely vows may be broken there!"
IV.
The clerk a few days let pass, and then Back to the charge returned agen.
"Lady, now yield, or yon die!" said he; "Choose which you will - choose speedily!"
"Ten thousand deaths would I rather die, Than shame upon me my God should cry!"
The clerk, when he saw he nought might gain, No more could his smothered wrath contain;
So soon as those words had left her tongue, His dagger right at her head he flung.
But swift her white angel, hovering nigh, Turned it aside as it flashed her by.
The lady straight to her chamber flew, And bolt and bar behind her drew.
The clerk his dagger snatched up and shook, And grinned with an angry ban-dog's look.
Down the broad stairs in his rage came he, Two steps at a time, two steps and three.
Then on to the nurse's room he crept, Where softly the winsome baby slept -
Softly, and sweetly, and all alone; One arm from the silken cradle thrown -
One little round arm just o'er it laid, Folded the other beneath his head;
His little white breast - ah! hush" be still! Poor mother, go now and weep your fill!
Away to his room the clerk then sped, And wrote a letter in black and red;
In haste, post haste, to the Count wrote he: "There is need, dear lord, sore need of thee
"Oh speed now, speed, to thy castle back, For all runs riot, and runs to wrack.
"Thy hound is killed, and thy mare is killed, But not for these with such grief I'm filled.
"Nor is it for these thou now wilt care; Thy darling is dead! thy son, thy heir!
"The sow she seized and devoured him all, While thy wife was dancing at the ball;
"Dancing there with the miller gay, Her young gallant, as the people say."
V.
That letter came to the valiant knight, Hastening home from the Paynim fight;
With trumpet sound, from that Eastern strand Hastening home to his own dear land.
So soon as he read the missive through, Fearful to see his anger grew.
The scroll in his mailed hand he took, And crumpled it up with furious look;
To bits with his teeth he tore the sheet, And spat them out at his horse's feet.
"Now quick to Brittany, quick, my men, The homes that you love to see agen!
"Thou loitering squire! ride yet more quick, Or my lance shall teach thee how to prick!"
But when he stood at his castle gate, Three lordly blows he struck it straight;
Three angry blows he struck thereon, Which made them tremble every one.
The clerk he heard, and down he hied, And opened at once the portal wide.
"Oh cursed cousin, that this should be! Did I not trust my wife to thee?"
His spear down the traitor's throat he drove, Till out at his back the red point clove.
Then up he rushed to the bridal bower, Where drooped his lady like some pale flower.
And ere she could speak a single word, She fell at his feet beneath his sword.
VI.
"O holy priest! now tell to me What didst thou up at the castle see?"
"I saw a grief and a terror more Than ever I saw on earth before.
"I saw a martyr give up her breath, And her slayer sorrowing e'en to death."
"O holy priest! now tell to me What didst thou down at the crossway see?"
"I saw a corpse that all mangled lay, And the dogs and ravens made their prey."
"Oh holy priest! now tell to me What didst thou next in the churchyard see?"
"By a new-made grave, in soft moonlight, I saw a fair lady clothed its white;
"Nursing a little child on her knee - A dark red wound on his breast had he,
"A noble hound lay couched at her right, A steed at her left of bonniest white;
"The first a gash in its throat had wide, And this as deep a stab in its side.
"They raised their heads to the lady's knee, And they licked her soft hands tenderly.
"She gently patted their necks, the while Smiling, though stilly, a fair sweet smile.
"The child, as it fain its love would speak, Caressed and fondled its mother's cheek.
"But down went the moon then silently, And my eyes no more their forms could see;
"But I heard a bird from out the skies Warbling a song of Paradise!"
THE END.

Phil Ochs - When in Rome Tape from California (1968)
Lyrics:
In the fire blue forests, faded and forgotten I crawled through the cotton fields, picking for cotton The overseer sneered, his whipping was rotten With ecstasy. I'm child-like terror I tore out the tap roots Cards of the lash were calling to follow suit I dashed for the swamps, the hounds in hot pursuit Jealously. All through the night a figure of fright, as I hid my head And they buried their nose in a cut of my clothes, now torn in shreds And they never would leave until they believed that I was dead But I'd never curse their names, Oh, who am I to blame? I know I'd do the same Endlessly. And all the high-born ladies So lovely and so true, Have been handed to the soldiers: When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Frail and afraid in the mists of the morning, The snakes and the spiders were sadly performing, The bark of the dogs kept up the warning Inside the wood. Sweating and swearing, I crawled from the manger, The highway appeared to take me from danger, Is there anyone here who would pick up a stranger? Oh, I wish you could. Then someone replied "would you like a ride? Come in" he said. We drove for a while, he gave me a smile and a piece of bread The hammer was hard in the chrome of the car as I cracked his head. Then we took off in a spin, Oh, I smashed his skull again, Oh, thank you, my good friend, I feel so good. And all the high-born ladies So lovely and so true, Have been handed to the soldiers: When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Late in the evening I came to the city, I fell to the sidewalks sighing for pity. A diamond was dropped from the hands of the pretty To be so kind. Cowards and corpses were busy competing, The rhymes of the riots were busy repeating, I raced to the corner and sped from the speeding To save my mind. Latches and locks, companies of cops ran from the rain There was silk in the stores for the whims of the whores That shone with shame. I asked for a light from a priest in the night, Then I fanned the flames. And the traffic all stood still To see if someone had been killed. I was glad to leave a thrill So far behind. And all the high-born ladies So lovely and so true, Have been handed to the soldiers: When in Rome, do as the Romans do. A monk and his mother were dancing so dandy, A topless nun was handing out candy. The beautiful bishop broke out the brandy, The kiss we crave. They stuttered and stammered, would I feel like staying? We fell to our knees, feverishly praying. the salt in the salt-peter seemed to be saying Be brave, be brave. I reached for a robe, I preached and I probed, And I taught the tune. And the greed for the gills was played to the hilt As I promised doom. I toyed with their fears, until coins and tears filled the room. Then I took off down the road, Laughing madly like a toad, God bless every soulless soul That would be saved. And all the high-born ladies So lovely and so true, Have been handed to the soldiers: When in Rome, do as the Romans do. A chorus of children were passing the hours, I joined in their fun, and gave them my flowers Covered with kisses, and showered with showers That they repaid. Taken and trusting, would I be their teacher? She looked so appealing, I wanted to touch her. Just out of reach, unable to reach her, Their hands were raised. Charmed by the chalk, the lessons were taught, inside the class They studied the rules of the samurai schools, they had to pass. The room was adjourned, the lessons were learned, I turned on the gas. And I watched them make their pleas They passed the test with ease I gave them their degrees, They made the grade. And all the high-born ladies So lovely and so true, Have been handed to the soldiers; When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Feeling my weakness, a coward for company, I joined the ranks of the hot and hungry, To teach what it means to have love for your country. We marched away. We lowered our lives for the lines of a border, We danced with the mothers, played with the daughters, We followed our fantasies, following orders, It was child's play. After the war the bullets were bored so we capped the game With cynical smiles we put them on trial to place the blame: Now what kind of beast would love such a feast, Have you no shame? So we hung the by the feet, Oh, we shot them in the street, Oh, the victory was sweet, on Victory Day. And all the high-born ladies So lovely and so true, Have been handed to the soldiers; When in Rome, do as the Romans do. The bread and the circuses came to be nearing, The Saviour or somebody must be appearing. Pagans and pageants were all disappearing Inside my head. The stones on the statues were staring and stalling, Caesar and Cassius were cursing and calling. The empire had risen and now it was falling, Or so it seemed. The crown and the cross seemed empty and lost in dark despair, And luminous lies, death in disguise, were everywhere, The canvas was cold, the story was old, I said my prayers. Then I crowned him on the head, Oh, I blessed him as he bled, Oh, At last, the king is dead, God save the queen. And all the high-born ladies So lovely and so true, Have been handed to the soldiers; When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Now nothing remains for building or burning, The losing of lovers was all I was learning, A time for escape and a time for returning H,ad come to me. Back through the ashes and back through the embers Back through the roads and the ruins I remembered, My hands at my side I sadly surrendered; Do as you please. The hero was home, proven and grown, I fell on the floor, Mad with romance they started to dance, their star was born. I bled like the rain, exploded in pain, then I screamed for more: Oh, make me feel sublime, Release me from my mind, Oh, Kill me one more time, And set me free. And all the high-born ladies So lovely and so true, Have been handed to the soldiers; When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

Into The Fire

A/N- Goooooood evening everyone! We hope your week started off great and that your Monday hasn't been too terrible! If it by chance has been.... here is a fic? Maybe it will cheer you up???
Thanks for all the support that you have given @starrynite7114 and myself, we appreciate it so so much and we hope you enjoy our first actual fic together!
We love y'all !!! ❤❤❤❤
You groaned, your phone had been ringing nonstop. You had just finished an on call week and all you wanted to do was sleep. But instead, you were being awoken at six at night.
“Fuck I slept the day away.” You sighed. The ringing stopped and you were grateful for that. But before you could even debate whether you wanted to continue to sleep the day away or move, the ringing came again.
Picking up your phone, you saw that it was Bishop. The club president rarely called you, when he usually did, it was to update you on your father who was serving life in prison. You weren’t exactly sure why your tio insisted on giving you updates when you visited your father every two weeks. But you knew it was his way of trying to keep in touch with you.
You let out an annoyed sigh and quickly hit the answer button.
“What is it?” You grumbled as you rubbed your eyes.
“Finally, look, there isn’t time to explain, but we need your help, now, your Tio Marcus got taken earlier and he’s in bad shape.” Bishop quickly explained.
Your stomach dropped. “Where at?”
“The factory.”
You kept medical supplies in your car in case of emergencies and in the event the club came calling. It was rare since Bishop tried to assure you didn’t interact with Angel. Bishop doesn’t know what occurred to cause the falling out between you two and he didn’t bother to question it, all he knew was that he was going to stay out of it and tried to keep you away from one another as much as possible.
Right now, all your drama with Angel was irrelevant. You couldn’t focus on your shit with him, you could only focus on changing your clothes and throwing on your shoes. You gave the house a once over before you grabbed your keys and all but ran out of the house.
You knew the way to the factory like the back of your hand, you had driven it countless times due to this exact reason. You had always made yourself available to the MC any time they needed a patch up, some medicine or even just an ear to listen to their troubles, you were there. You did everything in your power to make sure that your past with Angel didn’t interfere with you helping your family and usually that worked well because you were able to patch up a guy here, listen to one there, and you never crossed paths with Angel. However, there were times like tonight where you had no choice but to see the man.
You were so deep in your troubled thoughts that you barely realized that you had made it to the factory. You parked the car and jumped out, doing a half jog to make it up to the door. With every crunch that your feet took on the gravel, you inhaled deeply in an attempt to steady your nerves. Despite you being one of the top surgeons at your hospital, you still got nervous, especially when it came to working on family.
You took one last breath before you pushed into the factory. The typical hustle and bustle of dress making was gone and replaced by dead silence. Your boots clicked on the concrete floor as you made your way to the back of the warehouse. You could only imagine the scene that was going on behind the heavy metal door that separated the regular dressmaking world and the cartel world.
You didn’t linger for too long, your eyes scanned the door and you sighed as you pushed it open and made your way into the room.
The first thing you noticed was the vibe in the air, it was tense, so tense that you felt your own muscles starting to tighten up. The next thing you registered was the groans of pain that were coming from around the corner. You sped up, knowing full well those noises were coming from Marcus. As you rounded the corner, Marcus came into your view and you had to stop the gasp from escaping your lips as you took in his beaten appearance.
A movement from your left caught your eye and you turned your head to come face to face with a man that you formed an unlikely alliance with and saw as a friend. His typical suit was gone, and he was in regular dark washed jeans, black boots, a simple back shirt and a leather bomber jacket. His usually perfect hair was messed up a tad and he had a black bandiana in his hands, you followed his movements and realized he was wiping blood off of them.
“I tried to get them to take him to the doctor across the border, but everyone insisted that you would want to be the one to help Marcus.” Miguel said softly. You could hear the MC shuffling around as you shared this tiny moment with Miguel.
“I would have been insulted had I not been the one to help.” You said with a small smile.
Miguel nodded slowly and his eyes flicked over to where Marcus was sitting. His expression changed to a more pained one before he schooled it back to his neutral resting face. Your gaze followed Miguel’s and you looked at Marcus, he had numerous wounds that made your insides twist with anger.
You cleared your throat and made your way over to him. Miguel followed you and as you neared Marcus, Bishop walked over and pulled you into a firm hug.
“Thanks for coming sweetheart.” His voice rumbled into your ear.
“You couldn't have stopped me from coming to help you even if you tried.” You replied.
Bish nodded and you slowly bent down to look at Marcus’s injuries more closely. Your hands shook slightly as you mentally cataloged all his flesh wounds. You examined his hands, cringing when you noticed some nails had been ripped off. His left eye was black and blue, swollen shut and he had a nasty cut on his neck.
You sighed and quickly got to work. Off in the corner to your right, you could feel Angel staring holes into your skull. You cleared your throat again and clenched your jaw as you cleaned out the deeper wounds. Angel hated being ignored, it was a trigger of his, but you couldn’t risk looking over at him and falling into those deep brown eyes.
“Thank you mija,” Marcus whispered.
You looked up at your tio and gave him a half smile that didn’t reach your eyes.
“I just hope you killed the men that did this to you.” You knew they did, there was no way they would leave them alive.
Marcus chuckled, but it ended up turning into a wheezing cough.
“Miguel made sure of that.” He replied after his coughing fit had subsided.
You glanced over your shoulder and gave Miguel a small smile which he returned.
From the corner, Angel watched the exchange and clenched down on his jaw, physically stopping himself from asking a question that would fuck up the already strained relationship between the MC and The Galindo Cartel. Angel couldn't help the ugly jealousy that stirred in his chest as Miguel hovered over you while your nimble fingers tended to Marcus' wounds. If Angel could put a description on it, he would say Galindo looked like a Pitbull right now, floating around you in a protective manner that made Angel's stomach churn with anxious nausea.
"You good?" Ez whispered from beside Angel.
All he could do was nod, he knew if he spoke then Ez would hear the stress and anger in his voice and he would pounce on it like the little "fixer" he was.
Miguel crouched down next to you, his shoulder bumping yours, and the small contact caused Angel to ball his fists up and turn to look at the worn down wall. He couldn't look at the two of you, not right now, not when he felt a million different complex emotions flying at him from numerous different ways.
"Chill mano." Coco said softly from Angel's other side.
Angel rolled his eyes and folded his arms across his chest as he tried- but failed to block out your voice.
"He should be good after I stitch up this last wound here, he needs to rest Miguel." You stated in a professional yet sentimental tone.
You could feel Miguel's shoulder pressed against yours and your nerves kicked up just a tad. Miguel Galindo was a powerful, intense man with perfect bone structure and impeccable fashion taste. Underneath all of that- was a brutal, animalistic cartel leader who killed numerous people in the past.
Ever since Day 1, when Miguel walked into your hospital carrying his trampled wife, you managed to look past his cartel dealings. You always saw him- the man who was family oriented, loyal, fiercely protective and charming. All of your assumptions about him had became more permanent this year, after you spent almost every day tending to Dita's third degree burns.
Shit- Miguel practically hired you as his mothers personal doctor. Still to this day you saw her once a week, every week, to check in on her healing.
"There,” you gave him a small smile. “All better." You whispered as you finished off the last stitch and sat back on your heels. Marcus grimaced slightly, but he already looked so much better.
The elephant size weight on your chest lifted, and you found it easier to breathe now that he was okay.
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Miguel rise to his feet. As you packed up your medical supplies, the cartel leader helped Marcus to his feet. You glanced up at him, making sure he had good balance and could stand.
You smiled at him when he could and you happily shut your kit.
As you went to stand, Miguel stretched out his hand for you to take. You didn't hesitate in grabbing it, and his long warm fingers wrapped around your hand and he pulled you up softly.
"Thanks." You stated as you let go of his hand and brushed off your pants.
"No, thank you. Truly, Marcus wouldn't have survived without you." Miguel responded.
"Please," you began
"Its true Mija. Thank you. I owe you so much." Marcus said cutting you off.
You gave him a half smile and moved to give him a soft hug, which he returned.
"Bed rest." You stated firmly as you pulled back.
"Yes ma'am." Miguel joked. Your eyes flicked up to his face and you took the time to appreciate his rare smile.
"Off you go then," you mumbled, bending down to pick up your kit.
Miguel nodded once more and then with the help of Nestor, he helped Marcus out of the room.
"Thanks for the call Tio." You said as the president came up to you.
"Nah, no worries. Just glad we got you to patch us up when we get hurt."
"Yeah, if you guys could stop doing that, that would be amazing." You said scrunching your face up as you followed your Tio outside.
The rest of the MC trudged behind, and you were silently thankful that Angel was all the way in the back.
Once outside, your eyes watched as Nestor got inside the SUV and drove away. You followed their vehicles for a split second before you turned your attention back to Bishop.
"Are there any other injuries I should know about?" You questioned with an arched eyebrow.
Bishop laughed and shook his head before he pulled you into a tight hug.
"Thanks sweetheart, go home, get some sleep." He said softly as you pulled out of his embrace. You gave him a smile and started to walk back over to your car. You pulled out your keys and fiddled with them for a second, trying your best to avoid looking over your shoulder at the MC.
You sighed as you unlocked your trunk and threw your medical kit. Your fingers gripped onto the cool metal of your trunk and you took a moment to steady yourself before you slammed it shut with more force than needed.
As you looked up from your car your eyes connected with Angel's. Even from across the lot, you could tell he was upset. His face was impassive and disconnected from everything around him. His eyes looked dead, and while part of you wanted to go over to him and hug him, the stronger, more irritated part of you wanted nothing to do with Angel.
He had hurt you-- and it had taken everything in you to leave him, but you managed to do it.
You swallowed thickly and ripped your eyes away from Angel. You could feel your throat closing off and you quickly jumped into the car. You glanced down at your body for a moment before you inhaled deeply and started the car.
You chanced one last look at Angel before you put the car in reverse and backed up. He was shaking his head and listening to something Ez was saying while twisting his rings absentmindedly.
You sighed again and peeled away towards your home. It never got easier when it came to seeing Angel, and the fact that a stray tear had fallen from your eyes and landed on your cheeks only solidified that fact for you.
The drive back to your house was quick, and you barely remembered it due to being so deep in thought.
You groaned as you pushed yourself out of your car, your lower back was killing you, and your feet felt like you had been walking on hot stones all day. All you wanted to do was to climb back in bed and sleep through your entire three day weekend.
As you opened your front door, your phone began to ring again and your body deflated at the thought of another Mayan needing your help.
You pulled out your phone and a wave of surprise washed over you when you saw it was Miguel.
You quickly answered it and tried your best to keep the exhaustion out of your voice.
"Hey."
"You sound tired." Miguel stated.
You rolled your eyes and dropped your stuff off on the kitchen island before you kicked off your shoes and padded down the hallway to your room.
"Yeah, busy week." You replied.
You heard Miguel hum on the other end of the line and the break in the conversation made you nervous.
"What's up?" You questioned, running out of patience.
"I wanted to ask you to dinner, as a thank you for saving Marcus's life."
A you could respond with was a lame "Oh," you froze in the doorway to your bedroom and searched for the right words to say.
"Tomorrow. 7 o'clock, at The Rosa. I can have a car pick you up." Miguel responded smoothly as ever.
You chewed on your bottom lip as you considered his proposal. Over the months you and Miguel had steadily become good friends, you enjoyed spending time with the man and loved his entire family. Every time you visited his house you ended up staying for hours, either talking with Dita, joking with Emily or playing with Cristobal.
"Um sure… yeah, that sounds great Miguel." You finally answered
"Perfect! See you then, oh and Y/N?"
"Yeah?"
"Get some sleep por favor."
You smiled to yourself and nodded.
"You got it boss."
Miguel chuckled and the pair of you wished each other a goodnight before you clicked off the phone and tossed it onto your inviting bed.
It took you no time at all to strip out of your clothes and tuck yourself into your sheets. As soon as your head hit the pillow, your eyes closed and you drifted off into dreamland.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
You woke to the sounds of birds chirping outside as the sunlight peeked through your shades and welcomed the morning to you.
You stretched and let your hand run absentmindedly up and down your stomach while the other hand rubbed the morning crust out of your eyes.
You loved waking up naturally, without an alarm barking at you or your phone blaring arrogantly. You sighed and let both of your arms fall onto the mattress with a soft thump.
Mornings like these were always so still and quiet. You reveled in it, if was one of the few times where your mind was just as silent as the world around you.
You let your arm feel around for your phone and when you found it, you looked at the time and sighed.
11:00 am
Despite wanting to stay in bed, you did have a lot to do today. You had to go to the grocery store, wash your clothes along with your dishes and then you had to go visit your mother's grave and wish her a happy birthday. On top of all of that, you had to get back here and get ready for dinner by 7 PM.
You groaned and checked your messages, a small smile formed on your lips as you read one from Coco.
Coco: Can you talk to Letty? She is out here running around with this boy who is shit. She won't listen to me. Maybe she will listen to you.
You chuckled and imagined the conversation that Letty and Coco had about her new boyfriend. Whatever it was, it couldn't have been successful otherwise he wouldn't have texted you.
You: Yeah I can come over to the clubhouse later around like 8 or 9? Talk to her?
You went to turn off your phone, not expecting Coco to respond right away, but the ding caused your attention to shift back to your phone.
Coco: Yeah, yeah that will work. We are having a party here tonight anyway..sure she is gunna show up with Gabi."
You smiled again and clicked off your phone before you threw the blankets off of your body with a sigh.
"Let's start this day." you muttered to yourself.
It took you no time at all to throw on some comfy athletic clothes.
First thing to do was head to the graveyard to visit your mother.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
You sat down on your couch and let out a yawn. You opened your water bottle and drank like a dehydrated animal. The cool water rushed into your throat and you loved the way the refreshing feeling seeped through your whole body.
You stroked your stomach again and sighed.
You had to start getting ready, dinner was in an hour and you looked like you just finished running a marathon.
The timer on your dryer pinged signaling the completion of your final load of clothes. You thought about getting them out and folding them, but you didn't have the time, nor did you feel like it.
You finished off your water and pushed yourself off the couch and to your room. You already had an idea of what you wanted to wear and you went straight to your closet to pull it out.
It was a simple dark green dress that had a V neck, and thin straps. It came to your knees and had a small slit in it that revealed your thigh. You decided to pair it with some black heels that wrapped around your ankle and your black clutch that matched.
You moved to your bathroom to do your hair, settling on straightening it. You kept your make up simple yet effective. Dewy foundation, brown eyeshadow, filled in brows with a nude lipstick.
You finished off your hair and make up and took a step back to double check it in your mirror. You flattened some stray hair pieces and smiled at your reflection. You couldn't deny you looked good.
It didn't take you long to put on your dress and heels, and you quickly finished off your look with some gold hoops and a gold minimalist necklace.
You checked yourself out in your full body mirror and you grimaced slightly at the extra weight you were carrying in your midsection, but you couldn't dwell on it, you knew you still looked hot.
Your eyes flicked over to your clock and your timing was perfect as you had 10 minutes until dinner. You walked over to your phone and sat on your bed as you opened your messages.
Miguel- Nestor should be there in 5 minutes.
He had sent that about 3 minutes ago so you figured Nestor would show up any moment now. You smiled at your phone slightly before you pushed yourself off your bed and unplugged your phone.
You checked yourself out one last time before you headed out to the living room to wait. You didn't have to wait long because as soon as you made it to the kitchen, your doorbell rang.
"Prompt." you mumbled to yourself as you grabbed your keys. You opened the door and came face to face with Miguel's best friend and bodyguard.
"Evening Y/N." Nestor greeted. You didn't miss the way his eyes raked over your form before they snapped back up to your face.
"See something of interest Nestor?" You joked before you walked out and shut your door. You turned to lock it and Nestor cleared his throat.
"Sorry." he apologized.
You waved him off and gave him a small smile. You weren't bothered by him checking you out, it was a silent compliment, plus, it gave you a small boost of confidence and that never hurt anyone.
"The drive should only be about 10 minutes." Nestor said as he pulled the SUV out of your driveway.
"I know, I have lived here my whole life." You joked, wanting to lighten the air between you two. Nestor was always so stiff and you felt the need to help him ease up. You weren’t his boss, you weren’t reporting anything to Miguel, you just wanted him to chill out.
Nestor chuckled and shook his head. "Sorry, I'm just not used to Mikey having friends. Don't really know how to talk to you." Nestor stated as he looked at you in the rearview mirror.
You shrugged and moved a stray piece of hair out of your face. "Talk to me normally, I’m a normal person you know.”
Nestor huffed, but didn't say anything else. You weren’t normal, not to him. Miguel Galindo was fond of you and you were Mayans royalty. The rest of the drive was completed in a comfortable silence. You had expected to be nervous, going out to dinner with the most powerful man in Santo Padre, but you found yourself calm, collected and excited to see your friend in a more relaxed setting.
Truthfully, you liked him better like that anyway.
"Here we are." Nestor announced as he pulled up to the front of the restaurant. There was a line outside, but you knew Miguel was probably already inside, waiting for you.
Nestor came around to open your door and you smiled as he helped you out.
"Thanks Nestor."
"No problem. Mikey is inside."
You nodded and smoothed out your dress before you walked over to the restaurant, past the line of hungry people and into the door. Your eyes scanned the dining room, but you couldn't seem to find Miguel. You pursed your lips and glanced over at the hostess, she was on the phone but you decided to walk over to her anyway.
"Yes, yes, thank you. Hi! Welcome to the Rosa, how may I help you?" The hostess said as she hung up the phone.
"Hi- um I'm here for Miguel Galindo." You stated.
The lady looked up at you and arched an eyebrow before she schooled her shocked expression back a neutral one.
"Right this way ma'am." She said before she walked off towards a private area. You rolled your eyes and followed her- you should have known Miguel would be in a VIP area.
"Here you are, enjoy."
At the sound of the hostess, Miguel glanced up and locked eyes with you. He smiled and stood up as you walked over to him.
"Hi, you look beautiful. Thank you for meeting me." Miguel said as he came around the table to pull out your chair.
"Such a gentleman and no problem. I'm always down to eat.” You placed your phone face up on the table. “Oh, how rude of me, you don’t look too bad yourself Miguel.”
You weren't lying, the man had impeccable taste in clothing. Currently he was in a light grey suit, with a black tie and matching shoes. His hair was perfectly gelled back, and his beard was groomed to perfection.
Typical.
Miguel laughed and pushed your chair in slightly after you sat. He rounded the table and sat back down, scooting his chair in once before he leaned back and evaluated you.
"How are you?" He asked.
You shrugged and opened the menu that was in front of you. "Good, tired but ya know, what's new."
"Did you not sleep last night?" Miguel questioned, leaning forward and resting his elbows on the table.
You glanced up from your menu and held his gaze for a moment before you looked back down at the food selections.
"I did, but I'm a surgeon, I'm always going to be tired." You stated. Your body was always playing catch up with all the sleep you lost over the years, both through surgery and Angel.
Miguel hummed and opened his mouth to say something but the incoming waiter interrupted him.
"Good evening, my name is Ezra, I'll be taking care of you tonight. Mr. Galindo can I start you off with any drinks?"
You rolled your eyes, of course Miguel didn't have to introduce himself.
"Yes, I'll have a bottle of whatever wine is featured tonight, and two glasses."
Your eyes flicked up to Miguel's face and your eyes widened for a fraction of a second. A weight settled on your chest and suddenly it felt a little hotter in here.
"Uh actually Miguel, I'll have water,” you corrected.
Miguel looked at you but didn't say anything, the waiter nodded and he took off to get your drinks.
As soon as he was out of ear range, Miguel turned his full attention to you. You squirmed slightly under his questioning gaze and you let out a sigh before you closed your menu.
"I can't drink okay?" You whispered.
You watched as understanding washed over his face, his eyes flicked to your stomach and then back up to your face.
"I didn't realize you were seeing someone." Miguel said softly. You were surprised at how soft and nonjudgmental his tone was. You had expected him to be harsh, or even condescending, but once again you were taken aback by Senor Galindo.
"I'm uh, I’m not." You corrected him. “I was seeing someone.”
“A shame, what an idiotic man for letting go of such a lovely woman.” Miguel leaned back, pursing his lips. “Does he know?”
“He doesn’t, I’ll tell him eventually, things are just…….rocky.” You didn’t want to divulge further. You didn’t want Miguel to find out you were pregnant with Angel’s baby. It wasn’t the judgement you feared, you knew Miguel saw the MC as beneath him, but saying it out loud meant it was real. That you were pregnant. You meant to tell Angel when you found out, but after you broke up four months ago, it never seemed like the opportunity was right.
You recalled that night then, the fight that broke you and Angel apart. It was a stupid fight, now that you think about it, you got on Angel’s case due to some laundry on the floor. For some reason, that escalated into a huge fight between you two and you broke up with Angel. You weren’t proud of how you ended things, but that whole week had been surgery after surgery, sleep was basically non-existent. Instead of talking it out with Angel, you took it out on him. Despite that your relationship had not exactly been perfect leading up to that week. Angel was always on a run with Adelita, you weren’t exactly a fan of their budding relationship, especially knowing the truth between them before Adelita joined forces with the cartel.
Jealousy, lack of sleep and hormones due to your unknown pregnancy then, it took a toll and you broke up with Angel. Instead of fighting for you, he walked out, he was tired of the endless fights between you two. It wasn’t hard to figure out that you two broke-up since Angel slept with anything that fucking walked. Your Tio Bishop didn’t exactly miss the break-up between you two but he chose to stay out of it. Your break-up had nothing to do with club business, if anything Angel kept his head in club business to keep himself from going crazy after losing you.
Six years down the drain, over some petty miscommunication. Neither one of you wanted to break the deadlock, you were both stubborn as mules, and unsure of how to fix things. You felt bad, you wanted to fix the mess between you and Angel, or at the least, tell him about his unborn child, but every time you had the courage to do so, the sinking dread came along with it.
You’ve been part of the MC since birth. Your mother was no longer alive and your only living parent was spending the rest of his life in jail. You didn’t want to blame the MC of you feeling orphaned since Bishop and Marcus definitely stepped up, but it could never replace a mother or a father’s love. Due to that, you were reluctant to tell Angel about the baby. Being with Angel frightened you because you were afraid you would either be six feet under just like your mother or you would be doing weekly jail visits just to see him. An even worse thought you had frequently was that Angel could be the one who was six feet under. With his impulsive behavior and quick temper, you always feared for Angel's life.
At the same time, this has been your life, the family that has held you down. It was all you knew.
Why did life have to be so fucking complicated?
“Y/N, I lost you,” Miguel shook you softly.
“Sorry,” you gave him a small smile. “It’s just complicated.”
“Is he a co-worker?” Miguel didn’t want to pry, but he would be lying if he didn’t say he wasn’t curious.
“No, he isn’t, he’s a family friend.” That was mildly accurate. Your family knew Angel.
“Ah, so he’s in the MC.” Miguel wasn’t an idiot, he also wasn’t oblivious, he noticed how the eldest Reyes basically burned holes through him with the way he stared. He wasn’t a fan of the Reyes men, having to deal with the youngest due to Emily and their father who had a weird relationship with his mother. If anything, Angel was the less obnoxious of the three.
“What? What makes you say he’s in the MC?”
“Because I’m not blind, I saw how Angel glared at me.” Miguel chuckled. He noticed how worked up the eldest of the two Reyes’ were. He was a little shit and pushed him further, but he knew he wouldn’t do anything.
Ezra placed your drinks in front of you. You two placed your orders, Ezra quickly brought it down to the kitchen, not wanting to keep Miguel waiting.
You sighed. “Angel isn’t subtle.”
“No he is not, but I cannot say I blame him. You’re a beautiful girl, any man who is near you that is not family would also upset me.” Miguel took a sip of the wine. “This wine is divine, you would have enjoyed this.”
“Thanks for rubbing it in, prick.”
Miguel laughed. “So why have you not told him?”
“It’s complicated.”
“Try me.”
“Just haven’t had time.”
“Bullshit.”
You narrowed your eyes at Miguel, begrudgingly drinking the water, wishing it was wine instead. “We didn’t have the greatest break-up and I’m not really sure how to tell him.”
“Angel, I’m with child,” Miguel shrugged. “Seems simple to me.”
“Nothing is ever simple with Angel.”
“You’re scared to commit to Angel.”
“I’m sorry, did you become a licensed therapist in the span of the one day that I didn’t see you?”
Miguel laughed. “I did not, but you’re easy to read. You try to keep away from the MC lifestyle, but you ended up falling for a man that basically breathes the MC lifestyle. You don’t want to end up like your mother, a drunkard that couldn’t handle the fact that your father was put away for life.” It made you slightly uncomfortable how well Miguel read you, how well he knew you, but you figured it was due to your Tio Marcus. “History doesn’t have to repeat itself. You don’t strike me as a drunkard and Angel, as ill tempered as he is, seemed to be calmer around you.”
“Again, how do you know all of this?”
“Your Tio Marcus worries about you. He favored Angel for you, but it seemed your experience with your parents proved to be too much for you and Angel.” Miguel explained. “Can I offer a word of advice?”
“Sure,” you might as well listen, it’s not like Miguel Galindo was the local therapist.
“Do not fear the past, learn from it. You’re not doomed to repeat it if you learn from it.”
You looked at Miguel, your eyes welling up. He frowned, unsure of what he did that upset you.
“I’m sorry,” he immediately fired out, not wanting to upset you.
“No, you’re fine,” you slightly laughed, wiping the tears that had escaped. “I appreciate the advice.”
“Good, it does not happen often.”
“Well, I’m very touched to be fortunate to earn your wise words.”
Dinner went smoothly, which was no surprise to you. Your conversations with Miguel always flowed well and you never had trouble being comfortable with Miguel. You kept a boundary between you two since you knew the relationship between the cartel and the MC was rocky at best. But you enjoyed Miguel’s company, a much needed distraction. He escorted you out of the restaurant, recalling a funny memory of he and Emily when they were still dating.
Unbeknownst to you, Angel was coming out of a restaurant with Coco and Gilly a few buildings down. He looked up and saw you, his heart stopping, clenching at the sight of you with the cartel leader. Miguel was smiling at you, placing a hand on your stomach. All these thoughts ran in his mind, the most prominent one was that you were sleeping with Miguel.
Why else would Miguel be as protective as he was towards you?
Anger coursed through his veins, he couldn’t believe you would sleep with Miguel Galindo. Cheating was a deal breaker for you, it was the reason you two fought as much as you did. You had accused him of cheating on you with Adelita even though that was far from the truth. While he understood your worries, it wasn’t anything like that.
But watching Miguel handle you with such care, tucking your hair behind your ear, Angel almost charged towards you two, but Gilly and Coco held him back.
“Don’t, he would have you sitting on that pew, yellow raincoat and all.” Gilly warned.
Angel struggled against them, but they watched as Miguel opened the door of the SUV for you, waving goodbye before closing the door. He entered his own vehicle that was behind yours and left as well.
“The fuck was that?” Coco questioned, in disbelief that you were with Miguel in an outside setting.
“I don’t know, but I’m gonna fucking find out.” Angel got on his bike, speeding after the SUV that drove off with you.
Angel kept his distance, making sure that whoever was driving the SUV didn’t notice him. He eventually decided to pull over a few blocks away from your place, giving it ten minutes before he would come to your house and ask what was going on.
It’s been fucking hell these past few months. Sure, he fucked the pain away, but it never lessened what he felt. He wanted to speak to you, to make amends, but he couldn’t swallow it. You broke up with him, for something so miniscule. He knew you two had been fighting, he just didn’t think you would leave him. And now, instead of immediately fixing things between you two, Angel restored to self-destructive behavior to ease the pain. Seeing how you were with Miguel the other night, it irked him. He wasn’t sure how he was able to keep his anger at bay then, but it came back up now.
Were you pregnant with Miguel Galindo’s bastard child?
No, that was not possible.
You wouldn’t sleep with a married man.
More importantly, you wouldn’t sleep with Miguel Galindo.
The longer Angel waited, the more he his thoughts grew darker and darker. His anger was building to a dangerous level and some small conscious part of him knew that he he barged into your house like this, that nothing would get solved. You would probably end up yelling at him, and he would end up yelling at you, a lamp might be broken due to it being thrown across the room.
Words would be said that could never be taken back.
Angel gritted his teeth, as much as he wanted to break your front door down and demand answers. He knew he couldn't. But he was spiraling down a deep hole and he needed something, anything, in order to keep his dark thoughts at bay.
Thankfully- there was a party tonight, and a party meant women, and women meant he could fuck his emotions away.
Angel stared at your house for a moment longer before he kicked his bike on and tore out of your neighborhood.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
You sighed as your eyes roamed over the MC clubhouse. It was definitely bumping, the party alive and well. Numerous people were outside hanging around a fire, and you knew there were more people inside. It had not taken you very long to change and head back out once Nestor had dropped you off.
Originally, you had came.to talk to Letty, discuss her new boyfriend, but after your conversation with Miguel, you had also decided you would tell Angel you were pregnant. You needed him to know he was going to be a father, you needed him to understand that because of that, he was going to have to shape up.
This baby was going to need both parents, it was going to need to be loved by both parents, taken care of by both parents. Angel couldnt do that when he was fucking around with the club and random women.
You sighed and got out of the car.
You couldnt believe you were here to fix things with Angel based off the advice from Miguel fucking Galindo.
Your boots crunched on the gravel as you made you way to the door. The closer you got, the louder the music sounded. For a brief moment you wondered if you could even do this- but you pushed that thought out of your head and walked your way into the clubhouse.
Your eyes scanned the room for Letty, but she was nowhere to be seen. Instead, Coco spotted you and waved you over to where most of.the MC was sitting.
You pushed your way through the bodies of people and let out a breath once you made it to the guys. They all smiled and stood up to gi e you a hug.
"I couldn't get Letty here.” Coco sighed. “We’ve been fighting more lately so I'm not surprised she didn't fucking show." Coco pulled away.
"Don't worry about it, she's a teenager, you two are bound to fight. Just don't let it linger into something an "I'm sorry" cant fix." You statedz
Coco nodded and took a step back allowing all the guys to give you a hug. The last one to hug you was your Tio Bishop. His hug was warm and welcoming per usual, and you felt yourself lingering in his comfort for a few moments longer.
"Everything okay?" Bishop asked as you pulled away
You swallowed and nodded. Bishop was another person you had wanted to tell, but never found the right time to. You didn't know if he would be happy or angry at you for getting knocked up with Angel's kid, but eventually you knew you were going to have to tell him.
"Uh yeah, actually, have you seen Angel?" You questioned looking around.
Bishop arched an eyebrow at you and evaluated your face before he cleared his throat and shook his head.
"Nah, maybe Ezekiel knows." he said pointing over to the bar.
You followed his point and saw that Ez was standing at the bar with his girlfriend Gabi. You turned back to your Tio and thanked him with a smile before you B-lined it to the bar.
"Yo E-" You called out once you got closer to the pair.
Ez and Gabi turned around and when they realized it was you who called Ez, they smiled. You rushed to give Gabi a hug first and then repeated the process with Ez.
"Hey! What are you doing here?" Ez asked over the music.
"Funny story- I was supposed to talk to Letty about her boyfriend, but she didn't show, so I'm looking for Angel now. I gotta tell him something." You answered.
"Her boyfriend is disgusting." Gabi chimed in.
You laughed as Ez looked over your head, searching for his brother.
"Honestly Y/N, last time I saw him he was heading outside. Said he needed to use my trailer for a phone call. Figured he was calling you." Ez said.
Your chest tightened slightly at the thought of Angel using Ezekiel's trailer, your mind floated to all the bad things that he could be doing in there but you stopped yourself.
"Don't fear the past, learn from it."
Miguel's words echoed in your head and you silently chanted them in your head repeatedly.
"Is it cool of I go check?" You asked.
"Did you need me to go?" He questioned.
"Nah- I'm good. Stay here, we shouldn't be long." You lied.
Ez nodded and you turned on your heel to head out to the trailer. You were determined to tell Angel that you were pregnant. You were determined to fix things between the pair of you and you knew that the conversation wouldn't be easy, but it needed to happen.
As you neared the trailer you heart rate kicked up. Your palms started to get clammy and you felt nauseous. You rubbed your belly gently as you looked down at the tiny bulge that was beginning to form.
"We got this little one," you whispered to yourself.
You inhaled and let out a slow controlled breath before you knocked on the door. There was no verbal response, but you could hear the shuffling sounds just behind the door so you figured Angel was in there and ignoring you.
You rolled your eyes and quickly yanked open the door before you could change your mind. You took two steps inside before you heard his voice.
"Yo Ez what the fuck, I'm busy.”
You stopped dead in your tracks as your eyes zeroed in on Angel. From this angle, all you could see was his naked, freshly tattooed back. Your eyebrows scrunched together as you realized there was a woman underneath him. You could hear his familiar grunts of pleasure echoing throughout the trailer and you could smell the unique scent of Angel in the air. Cologne, cigarettes and leather- it all mixed together with the scent of sex and it practically made you gag.
Time seemed to slow down and your blood turned to ice in your veins as you fully absorbed what was happening in front if you.
"Seriously bro get ou-"
Angel looked over his shoulder and his eyes connected with yours, his sentence died and his mouth fell open as he took you in.
The longer you stared at him, the longer your exterior hardened. You felt yourself physically closing off and pulling away from Angel. Everything that you had planned to tell him flew out the window and all you could do was stare at him.
"Shit." Angel said as he pushed himself up off the woman and wrapped a blanket around his waist. The woman let out a groan and pulled another blanket on top of her.
As Angel neared you, you took a step back down the stairs. You didn't want to be near him, shit you should have known this was a fucking mistake.
"Y/N, what, what are you doing here?" He stuttered out, upset at the predicament you caught him in.
The wheels in your head were stuck. You could barely process Angel's words and you didn't even realize you were responding until you heard your own strained sounding voice.
"Nothing, this was a bad idea. I'll let you get back to um. Yeah."
You turned away and practically ran down the stairs and to your car. Everything you had been worried about came to the surface, Angel wasn't mature enough for this kid. He was always going to run away and self destruct every time you and him got into an argument. What if you needed time away from him? Was he going to run off and fuck everything that walked??
Hell probably.
How the fuck were you supposed to tell him he was going to be a father soon when he couldn't even take care of himself?
You couldn’t.
You couldn’t risk your child growing up in a household that was bitter and cold due to parental arguments. You couldn’t risk that trauma and pain being absorbed by your child and causing them to have problems with relationships later down the road.
The more your thoughts spiraled, the closer you got to your car. You could barely make out the heavy footsteps that were following you, you sped up, not wanting to give Angel an opportunity to throw some bullshit excuse at you.
“Y/N!” Angel called out.
You ignored him.
You unlocked your car with your key remote and your fingers found the door handle but just as you were about to pull it open, Angel’s large hand slammed against it and kept it shut. You didn’t dare look up at him, your chest was rising and falling rapidly and your heart rate was increasing to a dangerous level. You knew this kind of stress was not good for you and your baby.
Your baby. Just saying that made your insides churn and caused a new wave of nausea to wash over you.
“Y/N, please give me a chance to explain.” Angel pleaded.
You still refused to look up at him. You kept your eyes trained on your window, and in the reflection of the night you could see he was still naked except for the blanket that was wrapped around his waist.
“Explain what Angel? How could you possibly explain why I just found you fucking some girl in your brothers trailer?” You snapped.
Your voice was sharp and icy and you saw Angel subtly flinch away from your tone. You couldn't find it in you to care though, you wanted him to hurt the way you hurt.
“Y/N..please.” He begged
You finally looked up at him through narrowed eyes. His brown orbs were back to normal and they were mixed with numerous different emotions. You could pick out a few- pain, anger, sadness, but it wasn’t your place to help him through those emotions- not anymore.
“Get out of my way Angel.” You ordered
“No- no, wait just let me.”
“Angel move!” You yelled, cutting his begging off.
Angel stared at you for a moment before he lifted his hands up in an act of surrender. He took a couple steps back and you ripped your door open so forcefully that you could have sworn the hinges creaked.
You threw yourself into the car and slammed your door shut. It took you no time at all to start your car and back out of the gravel lot. You watched Angel out of the corner of your eye and he ran his hands through his hair. He rested his hands on his knees and inhaled deeply before he stood all the way up and gazed at your car.
"Fuck you…" you whispered before you backed all the way out and peeled off.
Your anger was coursing through you at such a blinding speed that you didn't even register that a tall, lanky man with long, wispy brown hair was watching you from his hidden spot across the street.
He hummed to himself before he opened his phone to dial his office.
"Oh the trials and tribulations of love." He muttered to himself.

all this time
omg so i have not written in forever but then the bestie @goldensonlyangel did a writing challenge (CONGRATS ON 800!!!!!!!!!) and i got inspired so here we are :) I know it's not super long but i like how it turned out!!!
as always, if you don't like the dress i linked, just imagine something else! that's just the visual I had in mind :)
warnings: none
word count: 1.8k
"Macy, I don't have anything to wear," you sighed, holding the phone between your ear and shoulder as you poured a bowl of cereal. "You can borrow one of mine! Or i will literally buy you one. I'll do whatever it takes, you have to come!" "Why?" You whined. "I always feel so awkward. You know I love you, but everyone couples off and it's just weird." "But Harry's going to be there," she crooned, and you had never been more grateful that she couldn't see your face. Your face that was currently flaming hot at just the mention of him.
"I don't care," you lied. "He clearly doesn't like me, so I don't even want to try anymore." "You're wrong," she insisted. "We can all tell he has the biggest crush on you." "I don't think so," you said, even though your heart was fluttering at the idea. "Okay, I'll come. But you have to go shopping with me." "Of course!" She exclaimed. "Can we go right now?" "Give me an hour, and then I'll come pick you up."
-----
"How about this?" Macy asked, holding up the shortest dress you had ever seen. "That's basically just a shirt," you rolled your eyes. "Harry would love it," she grinned. "Harry won't care, because he doesn't like me," you said, trying to keep your voice level. You told yourself a long time ago that there was no point in getting your hopes up about him. You could never have him, so why hurt your own feelings? She shook her head, but seemed to get the hint that she should drop it for now. She pulled another dress off the rack, this time one that was much more your style. Your eyes lit up at her selection. "I like that one," you nodded. "I think it would look really good."
-----
"You look amazing!" She beamed, pulling you out of the changing room to stand in front of the full length mirrors. You couldn't help the smile that grew on your lips as you examined yourself in the mirror. "I do," you agreed. "Harry- I mean, everyone's going to love it," she said, blushing slightly at her slip up. You had to give her credit: she didn't give up easily.

"You're here!!!" Macy screamed, rushing to the door and pulling you into a hug. "Of course I'm here!" you said, trying to match her energy. It wasn't an easy task; she had clearly had quite a few drinks tonight. She pulled away, holding you at arm's length to inspect your dress. "And you look amazing," she grinned. "Who helped you pick out that dress???" You smiled, shaking your head lightly. "I need a drink," you said, pulling back a bit more. "Of course!" she chirped. "Everything's set up in the kitchen. If you need anything else just find me!" Then she was off, pushing through the small crowd of people and right into the middle of the living room turned dance floor. You made your way to the kitchen, deciding you were much too sober to join her. You pushed open the door, hoping you would maybe see Bella, or Charlie, or any of the other girls you hadn't had the chance to catch up with lately. Instead, you ran directly into a broad chest belonging to none other than Harry, the man you'd had an unrequited crush on for years. "Oh- I'm so sorry!" you rushed out, grasping at the front of his shirt to steady yourself. He gasped slightly, reflexively gripping onto your arms to keep you from toppling over. "You alright?" he asked with a small smile. "I'm fine," you said, keeping your eyes on his chest as your face heated up to an almost painful degree. "Sure?" He asked one more time, ducking his head to meet your eyes. "I'm good," you said with a nervous laugh. "You can, um-" you glanced down to where his hands were still on your arms. "Oh!" He exclaimed, eyes going wide as he realized he was still holding onto you. "Sorry," he said, a faint blush tingeing his cheeks as he stepped back. "No, it's okay," you said quickly, not wanting him to feel bad. "I'm just- I'm gonna get a drink." He laughed, running a ringed hand through his hair. "Good idea. I think I need one too." He moved to stand next to you as you browsed the large selection of alcohol on Macy's table. "I think she might have a problem," you joked. "We might need to stage an intervention," he nodded very seriously before his face broke into a smile. "But," you said, reaching for a bottle of tequila, "She keeps us stocked for parties, so I can't bring myself to care too much." "Agreed," he grinned, reaching for the vodka. There were a few moments of silence as the two of you poured your drinks, and then Harry spoke again. "You look lovely tonight." His voice was soft, and he sounded almost nervous. "Thank you," you smiled. "I'll be honest, I didn't really want to come. Macy said I had to." "For once, I'm glad she's so pushy," he laughed lightly. "If she wasn't, I wouldn't have gotten to see you." Your heart sped up at his words, and it took you a second to fully process what he had just said. "I'm glad too," you said softly. "Why, um..." He cleared his throat before speaking again. "Why didn't you want to come?" "It's always just a little weird, you know?" you said, keeping your eyes on the drink in your hand. "Everyone pairs off by the end of the night and I kind of feel like a... seventeenth wheel." "I know what you mean," he nodded. "Like, I'm happy all our friends have found love, or whatever, but I also hate them juuuust a little bit." He pinched his fingers close together, squinting at you through the tiny gap. "Just this much." "Well, I'm glad it's only that much," you laughed. "But wait, since when are you not part of a couple? I thought you were with Ellie?" "No, we were never really together," he said, looking down at his drink as you had earlier. "I mean, I liked her, but apparently she didn't feel the same. She went off with Paul." "Oh," you said quietly, not sure how to respond to that. "Paul. What a skank." "Such a skank," he agreed, breaking into a laugh again. The warm feeling in your chest was probably partly from the alcohol, but you knew it was mostly Harry. Seeing him so happy, being the one who made him laugh... there was no better feeling. The two of you lapsed into a comfortable silence again,
sipping on your drinks every so often. By the time you finished, the music from the other room had quieted considerably. It was now a slow song, and you had no doubt that when you left the safety of the kitchen, you would find couples wrapped up in each other, too in love to care about anyone else. Just the idea of it was enough to kill your slight buzz, and you sighed involuntarily. Harry didn't appear to notice. He seemed to be deep in his own head, thinking about something. Before you got the courage to ask him what was on his mind, he stood up straighter and cleared his throat. "Y/N... can I have this dance?" He held out one hand to you, the other sweeping behind his back in a formal gesture. You giggled at his attempt to act prim and proper, when you both knew that was the furthest thing from his real personality. "I would be delighted," you said, copying his tone as you put your hand in his. He led you out of the kitchen and onto the makeshift dance floor. Just as you had imagined, most of your friends were with their significant others, swaying slowly to the soft music. Harry pulled you close, resting his free hand on your waist, his fingertips brushing the skin of your back. You shivered at the feeling, reaching your other hand up to rest on his shoulder. "You know... I had a dream about you last night," he said, continuing to sway the two of you in a slow circle. "Oh yeah? What about?" He hesitated for a minute, looking into your eyes. "It was just like this," he said quietly. "Only better." "How was it better?" Your voice was quiet, almost a whisper. "Because you were mine," he breathed. "I finally got my head out of my ass and asked you to be mine." You could barely breathe at this point. Your heart was pounding out of your chest, and you were sure harry could feel it from where his hand rested on your side. He didn't say anything though, he just keep his eyes on yours. "You want... you want me to be yours?" You asked, voice shaking slightly. "Would you?" He seemed just as nervous as you were. "I- yeah," you nodded, still staring at him. "I would." He breathed a sigh of relief. "I really like you," he admitted. "I have for a long time." "You have?" you asked in disbelief. "I've liked you for a long time." "Really?" He seemed just as surprised as you were. "We're really stupid, aren't we?" You laughed, dropping your head against his chest as you nodded. "We are." You felt him inhale deeply, and then his fingers were brushing your jaw, tilting your face back up to look at him. "Can I kiss you?" he asked softly, gaze flitting down to your lips before he met your eyes again. "Yes, you can," you said breathlessly. "Please?" He smiled, leaning closer and pressing his lips against your cheek. You nearly melted at the contact, brain short circuiting at the realization that Harry, the man you had loved for so long, felt the same way about you, and was standing here in your arms, about to kiss you. His lips lingered against your skin for a few seconds before he pulled away slightly. "You have no idea how long I've wanted to do this," he sighed, giving you no more time to think about it before his lips were on yours. Your eyes slipped closed as his hand moved to your back, pulling you closer to him. He was gentle, his lips moving softly against yours as you pressed your fingers into his shoulder. He pulled back after a few seconds, resting his forehead against yours with a breathless laugh. "Can't believe i waited so long to do that," he sighed. "Neither can I," you said softly, turning your head slightly to kiss his cheek. "I'm glad you finally went for it." "Me too."
