Build-A-Blurb Ask Game!

“Do you…really hate me?”

You didn’t have to answer Belphie’s question, but it didn’t stop you from pondering over it. The air was silent in the planetarium, and you felt like the heaviness began to weigh on you. It felt like you were being suffocated- yet your lips still moved to answer.

“Do you only want to fix things with me because of my connection to Lilith?”

You could feel his gaze bore into your back, and you can picture how shocked he is at your question- eyebrows raised, mouth agape. You don’t even have to turn to notice how hurt he probably is- but you don’t find it in yourself to care.

“No!” Belphie’s voice grew as he shot up. “I…I want to have my own connection with you because it’s you. Not because of Lilith. I want to have a bond with you like my brothers do. And I need to,” he sucked in a breath, shoulders dropping, “I need to fix this.”

“So why now, Belphie?” You didn’t have it in you to fight anymore- you were tired. Your feelings were all over the place and it left you emotionally drained. “You didn’t care about me before, so what’s different now?”

You were finally ready to try and build a genuine relationship with Belphie, but at the same, you didn’t know what his true intentions were. You didn’t believe he would kill you again (or that anyone would let it happen), but was he really ready to start over with you or with Lilith?

That thought remained in the back of your mind, rearing its ugly head everytime you gazed at him. It seemed that he was only eager to make amends because of your ancestry to his sister, which left a horrible taste in your mouth and reminded you to keep your distance while your disdain grew. None of it was fair to you- and while you were already fooled once, you refused to be fooled again.

But maybe you were already fooled when you slowly began to open up to him once more.

“I don’t even know if you’re wanting to really start over for the sake of us, or to just make yourself feel better.” Your words came off cold, but you didn’t say it with malice despite the flinch you saw from the corner of your eye.

“I don’t even know if I can trust you again.” Your fingers came to rub along your neck absentmindedly. “How do I know that things will be different this time around?”

Even the sparkling constellations in the sky wasn’t enough to distract you from the swell in your throat.

But you felt your hands being pulled forward, and you were met with violet eyes.

“Because…I want to love you.”

Belphie’s eyes were full of conviction as his cheeks were turning red, and you felt how his grip was shaking a bit.

“I want to…make you happy like my brothers do. No- I want to make you happier. I-“ he cursed under his breath, slightly stumbling over his words.

If anyone were to tell you that the human hating demon wanted to learn to love you, you would have scoffed in their face. To see Belphie grow from his hatred of humans to pleading to be close with you? It felt like you had whiplash from the sudden change- but it was surprisingly welcomed.

“I miss Lily everyday, but no one can replace her.” He squeezed your hand, and you don’t know if it was to comfort you or himself. “Just like no one can replace you.”

You hated the way your heart tugged at his words.

“Please,” Belphie pulled you closer, holding you like you were made of delicate glass. “Believe me MC.”

You don’t remember how you got so close, foreheads connecting together, glossy eyes staring back into your own. “You have to prove it first.” You softly uttered out.

He nodded, and the gap between you both started to close.

Everything felt hazy and like a dream. Was being stuck in the planetarium making you delirious to spill your feelings like this? Or maybe it was a dream and this was your self conscious giving you a sign? But you knew it wasn’t.

But whether this was a dream or not, Belphie’s lips felt unbelievably soft- and you soon found yourself melting into the kiss.

I'll go by ⭐. My pronouns are she/her and I'm demisexual

Appearance: I am South Asian with long wavy black hair. Usually tie my hair in a half ponytail at the back because I like how it looks and I don't really like the feeling of hair on my shoulders. I am 165 cm tall and reasonably fit

Personality: I'm calm, collected and hardworking. I can be a bit aloof and arrogant sometimes, but I make sure it doesn't get out of hand. I am curious and perfectionistic, and I'm also pretty academically smart (though I sometimes struggle with impostor syndrome lol). The gifted kid burnout syndrome is catching up, though. People say I do have a bit of a cold facade, but once they get to know me, they say I'm much warmer and gentler than they initially thought. I care deeply for my friends and my family, so I'll do whatever I can for them. I do face a lot of pressures too from having to be the perfect oldest daughter, the therapist friend (despite psychology not being my major, more of a special interest) and from having to do well in school (as much as I enjoy engineering, it is kicking my ass low-key). It may not look like it, but I'm very much a romantic, but I'm more practical about it, if that makes any sense 😅😅

I often bake my closest friends and family a cake on their birthday with a silly message written on it. I also has a soft spot (special interest) for outer space and love to stargaze wherever the skies are clear. Don't know if this is important, but I do make some pretty mean South Asian food, if I do say so myself. My younger sister says that my Ras Malay especially slaps

Likes: Books, herbal tea, art, lofi hip-hop, video games, anime, drawing, spicy food, affogato, outer space, cats (tho I really like all animals)

Dislikes: Incompetence, unnecessary conflicts, bullies, fake friends dishonesty, cruelty, dog-eared book pages, anyone who dares threaten my family, loud noises, itchy fabrics, insects

So, where to start? I think you and Belphie would get along well. The chill vibes with the Lofi- and the stars? Absolutely. Both of you would find time to relax in the conservatory behind the music room when life in the Devildom got a little too hectic, and well even together that wouldn't change. (bonus points for it being behind the music room so you can play some soft background music for mucho relaxed vibes)

Though you would probably get along super well with all the brothers, I think you would find your time around Belphie to be more grounding than the others' chaotic shenanigans. He would listen to you talk about the stars of the human world, (though it may lull him to sleep, not because he is bored but because your voice and presence are comforting and pleasant.) Or, he could even tell you the differences between your human stars and the endless night sky of the devildom.

Sure, he sleeps through most lessons and will dig at you for being such a straight-shooter student, but he will probably ask you for your notes over Satan or his other brothers. Partly because they are easy to understand and partly because it gives him more time to spend with you.

this really has little to do with the match but more bonus points so I'm going to add it here, you will never find any itchy fabrics anywhere around this boy, we all know he is the king of comfort! Only soft and pleasant fabrics here! Be that clothes, blankets or pillows he's got them all and if it means making you happy he would even share his favourite pillow with you. (though you may become his personal body pillow if you choose to nap with him.

I think Belphie would be there to help you break out of the mindset that you have to be the perfect, daughter, friend or student reminding you it's more than okay to just be yourself, take a break and let yourself mentally and emotionally recharge. He may be the youngest brother but he was still an older brother to Lilith after all, he can at least understand your burning desire to protect those you love and would be by your side to help you do so.

Honerable Mention : Barbatos

After talking over your ask for a while, Calla 💚and I agreed that the best butler in all of the Devildom would be a good match for you before deciding Belphie would be your main match so we made Barb your second choice/HM. Tea lovers? Check! We all know this man makes the best tea in all three realms. Not only that, he would also be calm and composed and help to keep you calm in return. He has his own elusive personality after all and it doesn't mean he's cold or heartless. Find yourself wandering off to the castle for some downtime from the chaos and just chill with Barb with some nice tea and a good, coherent conversation.

You were very late for daily nap time and he was none too happy his favorite cuddle buddy didn't come

He didn't sleep very well at all without you

With him he carried his usual pillow, the fabric clenched between his fingers, giving away his irritation

He went straight to your bedroom and opened the door

The sight made him soften

On the floor your sat, hugging your knees to your chest

Paper littered the floor, a large textbook open in front of you

He could tell you were about to have a breakdown, so he plopped down next to you

You jumped, not noticing his presence until you felt him lean against you

He nuzzled his face against your shoulder with a hum, eyeing your discarded notes

The handwriting was gradually becoming illegible scribbles

He stood and put his pillow on your bed

Hmm.. MC you missed our nap. Take a break so we can make up for it

You were going to protest, but the look in his eye shut you up

He held a hand out to you, to help you off the floor

Impatiently he pulled you onto the bed with him, flicking your forehead

He scolded you quietly for stressing yourself out and not properly balancing work and leisure

Clinging to you with a yawn, he used the influence from his sin to help you relax

He could always help you with your studying later

Belphie loved whenever you slept in their room. Even more so in his bed.

He loved being able to cuddle alongside you, hiding his face and sinking into the warmth that your neck provided. It made him feel at peace, and despite sleep coming to him so easily, he always seemed to drift off easier with you by his side. He always joked that you were his favorite pillow, only because he felt more well rested being curled up against you and couldn’t bring himself to say it out loud without blushing.

Waking up was a bit of a mixed bag for Belphie. The grogginess, how it always felt too early no matter how late it was- it was annoying, but his mild irritation went away when his gaze landed on yours, a sleepy smile on your face as you mumbled out a tired good morning. Despite not being a morning person, he suddenly felt a bit more awake in that moment. He tried to play off his surprise by whining about waking up too early, but the growing blush on his face makes it hard to hide how he’s really feeling.

He could just lay in bed with you all day (and he would if you didn’t stop him), but you softly told him that you have to get the day started. He could have hid his face in your neck once again, and found a convincing way to keep you to himself for just a little longer- but the gentle look in your own orbs has him hesitating in his plan, and he begrudgingly gives up.

Which led to now.

Gazing at himself in the mirror, Belphie can’t even hide the sleepiness in his violet eyes. His bed head has his indigo locks running wild, his movements are sluggish as he’s putting the toothpaste on, and he’s dozing off every few seconds with the toothbrush in his mouth.

Then he hears you giggle, and his eyes flicker to yours in the mirror, and something just…clicks.

You’re brushing your own teeth, residue of the toothpaste dripping at the sides of your lips. Your eyes show a bit of sleepiness yet a bright sparkle as your muffled giggle reaches his ears yet again. It’s a sight that shouldn’t be eye-opening, nothing special- but it is to him.

It feels really…domestic, like you’re living together as a couple. Then it hits him.

You’re together, with him. It still feels a bit surreal that you’re here with his brothers- here with him. How long has he dreamed of this moment? Just to have you here and not worlds apart like before? To spend every waking minute he possibly could with you to make up for lost time? It didn’t matter what you were doing- he just wanted to be with you.

It’s the simple things, Belphie realizes, that mean a lot to him. It’s the simple things with you that turn into memories that he’ll cherish for his life-

And he wants to continue to make those with you.
