Near Light gave me so much and only now I'm able to really ruminate on it and essentially think aloud. Forgive my long post, and feel free to expand upon it. I've only been in this game and fandom for a few short months so surely I've missed a great deal. Anyway!
The sheer IMAGERY of the Candle Knight's singular light, a small faint hope for herself, a tiny light that those without even that latch onto... Versus Margarent Nearl The Radiant Knight, whose light regularly through the course of her fights ENGULFS the entire area in her brilliant glow. Margaret is not just the ideal knight that Viviana read about in attitude and ideals but in pure fucking aesthetic too and that's just part of why she falls for her so hard. In her epilogue, now that she is essentially fleeing from Kazimierz, to a peaceful place none would look for her... What does she plan to do? Will she start living up to the ideals she has been shown, now that she is fully aware of the difference she can make? She seemed to enjoy helping Margaret and Dikaiopolis make it to the Adeptus Sprawiedliwi building, and remarked as such that it helped show her the ways she can help others. She was also noted in Catapult's bio as stalling the authorities that tried to apprehend Catapult, so she has a history of helping in small ways. A candle in the dark. "Maybe this will make for a good poem" she says, transitioning from a reader simply observing and becoming an active writer? Which of course is a metaphor for going from bystander to activist?
Tola the Nightmare Knight on his eternal Khaganquest, even after the event, but with nothing to come home to because he is all that remains of his people, his culture, and he has such a fraction of understanding of what it was really about. The flash forward years later in the epilogue that shows he is in Ursus just as his ancestor was... What is he doing there now? Is he fighting for blood's sake, to prove himself? Did he ever find his answer? How much closer is he to his self reflection, as Ioleta said the purpose of the Khaganquest is? Is he still the man forever stuck in the past while Margaret and those under her light have found futures by then?
Dikaiopolis... The champion, the savior of the broken and the damned, now can rest his head. And not a moment too soon it seems. His epilogue shows his rate of Oripathy seeming to increase. How much longer does he have? Will he have peace, now that the burden, the fight of the Infected, is not squarely on his shoulders? And what is Roy doing showing up to his village? Is he going to kill him? Would he have any reason or gain, as the Armorless Union have turned against the Kazimierz General Chamber of Commerce and thus untethered themselves? But he still answers to Darksteel, right? Speaking of...
Mlynar Nearl... He's one of the ones that fascinated me most. I had almost nothing but a negative opinion of him in Maria Nearl, but the glimpses we saw in Pinus Sylvestrus' logs and then in Near Light... This man spent over a decade serving the very people responsible for his family's fall and at first I considered him a spineless coward, a broken man. And he is in part a broken man. But now in the epilogue we see there's more pieces than there isn't. He's not shattered totally yet. He used his time well. He knows just about everyone. Including Darksteel. Darksteel, the all but illusory founder of the Armorless Union, the shotcaller and ultimate hitman that brings the death of even the Kazimierz General Chamber of Commerce. Even Ioleta the Grand Knight of the Adeptus Sprawiedliwi, basically the military branch, know and fear him to an extent. But Mlynar doesn't. Darksteel seems to have an almost equal respect for him, saying that his light, his "wrath" would eclipse and blind even Margaret's own radiance. And Mlynar states he could easily kill Darksteel if he didn't answer satisfactorily. But the fact remains, what exactly is he looking for? What would bring him closure on the whereabouts of his brother and sister in law, the Nearl sisters' parents? Surely by now all he can hope for is to find their bodies. What would he get from that, aside maybe an arrow pointing him to the next step, which is answers about who killed them and why.
This event brought a lot of good conclusions, like the answer to "What is a Knight?" Posed in Maria, and touched on in Pinus, or showing Margaret starting to effect change now that she can actually be in her hometown, or showing the Knights of Pinus Sylvestrus electing to leave their assured peaceful lives to help fight for the Infected alongside Rhodes Island but it also left a great many questions for later. And I sincerely hope we start to see the answers in a future story.
Also please make Viviana a summonable Operator please please please

My Protective Demon and Me: How to Live with Your Overly-Protective Hellspawn!
Intro:
So you've bagged yourself a demon, huh? Well, there are many great benefits to dating the otherworldly creatures of Hell, including increased power, longevity, and security! We can assure you that your demon boyfriend wants nothing more than to keep you safe, dear human, but this can be a new experience for the uninitiated. Never fear, because we have put together this guide to help you navigate the relationship you've just signed your soul into! My Protective Demon and Me is an instructional tool for your new demonic partnership, designed to introduce you to the protective tendencies of Seven Rulers of Hell. Listen to our advice, and you won't be left wondering why your boyfriend insists on carrying you down the stairs or loses his mind when you're injured by paper!
(Warnings: Possessive Behaviors, Implied PTSD, Yandere-ish)
Lucifer
Now, there's no kind way to say this, but Lucifer will think of you as small, weak, and helpless on most days. We promise it's not quite as insulting as it sounds because to him, that just makes you cuter.
Because he thinks you're so pathetic, he will want to provide for you in all sorts of ways. This includes security.
Lucifer's approach to keeping you safe is a little indirect, and it may sound a tad… invasive, but that's only because he's not able to be with you in person as often as he'd like.
He uses familiars spread across the Devildom to keep an eye on you during the day. Don't fret; these familiars aren't there to tell him about your every waking breath. Just monitor you and report back to him if something's amiss.
If there's an alert, he will drop everything to be sure that you're alright. The second he knows something's wrong, he'll be right with you within a minute, Diavolo be damned.
He may try to play it off as he just happened to be in the area if others are around, but in truth, he'd use magic to recall himself to your side.
Speaking of magic… Again, since he can't be with you as much as he wants, you may begin to notice your body getting stronger to a certain degree over your time with him. Is he secretly using magical means to strengthen your bones or make your skin harder to tear? He will never say, so best not ask.
Potential threats against you are dealt with discreetly, mostly under the guise of safeguarding the exchange program for Diavolo. No offenders will ever make it to the castle dungeon, though, as Lucifer tends to finish them off on sight... We recommend that you make yourself scarce during these times. Torture is such a nasty thing to witness...
Lucifer would like to believe that, in being with him, you're the safest that you could possibly be, but he always worries about what danger you're in while he's busy with work. A part of him blames his lack of vigilance over Lilith for her downfall, and he has strained to recover a sense of security over his loved ones ever since... Though he may come across as overbearing, just know he only watches you that closely because he couldn't bear to lose you.
Mammon
If you've won over Mammon's heart, then he's going to guard you as fiercely as a dragon does its treasure. But be warned because this can lead to confrontation...
Mammon will see himself as your bodyguard of sorts, so he'll try to be around you at all hours of the day. He'll start by making excuses like he needs study help, but after a while, he'll just hope you come to accept him as a constant fixture in your life and don't question his hovering.
He will stick very close to you in public, particularly when among other demons. He's the second strongest of his brothers, so this alone should deter most threats but don't be surprised if you see him scan the room you're in from time to time.
Take care not to hurt yourself around Mammon because he has yet to fully process how fragile the human body is. He may panic upon seeing you hurt (and he's not the most helpful when he's panicking…).
Should you get hurt when Mammon is near, you may see his protective instincts spike considerably. He will offer to carry heavy packages, refuse to let you handle sharp objects, and hold out a hand to steer you around tight corners.
Do not threat, this added level of attention is only temporary. Remind Mammon that accidents are a part of human life, and you can get yourself through them as the species normally does.
If someone actually tries to hurt you, we advise you to stay calm and focus on getting harmed as little as possible. Unfortunately, there will be no good way to talk Mammon out of fighting in your defense. It's best to focus on minimizing the damage to yourself and staying alive until help can be brought to you.
Mammon does this not to look down on you, but because he loves you so deeply, he's devastated any time he sees you hurt. Be patient with him, and he will learn to draw back his fear to a more appropriate level. Always know, though, that he worries about you constantly, so try not to give his demonic heart too many palpitations - yes?
 Leviathan
Levi is in some ways more chill than his brothers, and in others far more extreme depending on the location you find yourselves in.
If you are in his room (which you will be a lot), then he will be very relaxed. As far as he's concerned, you are in his domain and thus perfectly safe. There's no need to worry about you getting hurt or stumbling upon any rivals.
If you are together in the outside world, however, he will be very on edge. You are the most important individual in his life, so any possibility of you leaving him by death or by choice is not acceptable.
He will try his damnedest to steer you away from large crowds or packed spaces because he will be terrified of losing you in the chaos. Being in any public place where he can't see you will drive his anxiety through the roof. His imagination is quite active, and his mind is always against him.
If you are with his brothers, then he will be particularly tense. He acknowledges both their capacity to drag you into dangerous shenanigans AND steal away your affections, neither of which are options he'd like to pursue.
He will rarely let you be alone with his brothers without express permission, and even then, he has likely shot a threat to them about minding your safety (and your relationship) beforehand. As he is third strongest, only Mammon and Lucifer would ignore his "requests" but only to a point. It's a terrible mess whenever he summons Lotan in the House…
If someone else hurts you retribution will be swift (and bordering on lethal) because he's far more worried about getting back to making sure you're alright. He won't have his Henry dying on his watch, after all.
If you happen to hurt yourself, expect him to stow you away in his room for even longer than usual. Your accidental demise is a recurring fear of his, so he will need a great deal of reassurance that you are still with him and not quite at death's door just yet (yes, even if you get a papercut).
Leviathan is so protective of you because he feels like he has the most to lose if you died/left. He interacts with so few people that having even one show him patience is a game-changer. He would have the hardest time moving on should your presence ever leave him, so protecting you is the best thing he can do to protect himself from that pain in the future.
Satan
Satan's protective nature is less overt than the others, but in many ways, it's more… intense.
He's more familiar than the others with the fragility of human bodies thanks to many years of casual study. Thus, he has bulked up his knowledge of your species in earnest to help keep you safe.
What we mean to say is, fear not, you're now dating a doctor. He may not have an M.D. to his name, but he's pretty damn close.
He will want to know about any slight inconvenience you may be experiencing, from a slight headache all the way to broken bones. He prefers to diagnose your problem quickly then use any combination of magic or medicine to heal your ailments. You will rarely struggle with ongoing discomfort again!
That being said, he can be quite pushy. There will be no, "I'll just sleep it off" with him. If it can be fixed, he will fix it. Your patience be damned.
If you somehow manage to hurt yourself… He will be disappointed, but he will not deny you assistance. He will lecture you if he sees you doing potentially reckless activities, though, because it's his (self-imposed) job to patch you up afterward.
It should really go without saying that most demons know better than to hurt someone he loves. He may not be the strongest of his brothers, but he is among the least merciful, and that does make a difference.
If, for whatever reason, one actually does manage to harm you, then you have an important choice to make. Do you allow him to act on his anger or be the one to show mercy when he will not? If you'd like to be charitable, please consult our helpful material, How to Calm Your Demon Boyfriend: Tame Demons, Save Lives.
At his core, Satan worries about his demonic side because he knows how easily his Wrath can take over. So he does his best to circumvent these destructive tendencies with nurturing ones. He may come off like a worrywart, but helping you is just as much an assurance to him as it is a service to you. He's not destined to hurt you. He can heal you instead.
Asmodeus
Asmo is a free-spirited individual who would like to afford you the same freedom that he enjoys… but he knows very well how fragile the human body is. He's had many human lovers over the years, so he's very familiar with your limitations.
However, he's also aware of how capable you can be despite your perceived weaknesses (he's been friends with Solomon for years, after all).
Unfortunately, this won't stop him from worrying about your safety entirely. It's nothing personal, we assure you. He simply wants to be sure the love of his life can be with him for as long as possible.
Asmo shows his protectiveness most when confronted. He's far more worried about some demonic lowlife taking advantage of you than he is you falling off a step ladder. He understands that accidents will happen and that most are ultimately harmless, but other people? They can do you far more harm.
Due to his disposition and rank, most demons won't take his claim to you seriously. This is to their folly. Though he may not be physically strong as his elder brothers or even Beel, what he lacks in raw power he makes up for in deception.
Like Mammon and Levi, Asmo will want to be close to you out in public, but he will come across as far more relaxed than those two. This is partly due to his more developed confidence and because it makes it easier for him to charm potential threats into leaving you alone. Things are taken care of quickly after that.
Should you get injured well… Asmo will not be much help for anything aside from getting you to someone who actually can. He'd likely panic worse than Mammon, so do your best to remain calm and assure him that you will be fine after a little assistance.
His treatment of you post-injury won't differ much from how it usually is, because again, he knows that when there's a human involved - it's bound to happen.
Asmo's fear of others, both tragically and ironically, stems from his sin itself. Though he always tries to champion his partners' consent, he knows more than anyone that others can let their Lust drive them mad... His worst nightmare is letting you fall victim to one of those monsters because, frankly, he wouldn't know what to do with himself if that ever were to happen.
Beelzebub
Beel is protection incarnate. This is something he's been doing long before you met and will likely continue to do until the end of his days. Protecting those he loves is in his nature.
That being said, this means is you are dating the equivalent of a demon-shaped Doberman Pinscher, loving and loyal to you and an absolute nightmare to your enemies.
Though he doesn't feel quite the same need to hang off you as Mammon might, Beel's protection can be likened to something like a hired-bodyguard. Close, but not too close, and always vigilant almost to a territorial degree.
If someone Beel doesn't like approaches you, he may growl at them. We would recommend you heed his warning. Beel is generally a good judge of character, and if something strikes him as off, then there may be cause for concern.
Fortunately for you, Beel does not jump to conclusions nor confrontation very often. Though he may act intimidating, he won't make any moves unless given an "Okay" from you beforehand.
This, however, does NOT apply if someone actually hurts you in any way. Though he may seem sweet and wholesome, please remember, he is a demon and the demon of Gluttony at that. Someone will be eaten for their transgressions, but he would rather you not watch if possible.
Truthfully, what will scare Beel far more than possible attackers are injuries in and of themselves. He has what basic first aid is afforded to anyone who plays sports but is nowhere near qualified to save you from something life-threatening... Should you become injured or sick, it would devastate him that he can no longer take care of you. He may even be at risk of a small breakdown as a result.
The events of Celestial War have perhaps taken their heaviest toll on Beel. Whether it's true or not, he carries a lot of the blame for what happened on his shoulders... The idea of going through something like that again, but now with you, scares him more than anything. Please remember, under that kind exterior lies dormant wounds that will likely remain unhealed long after you're gone...
Belphegor
Belphegor is a strange case because, in some respects, he is one of the most possessive of the brothers... But he's also the least overtly protective.
Part of it is, yes, his inherent laziness. Following you around all day would be quite a hassle. He also can't expect you to stay in bed with him 24/7 (not that he lets that stop him from trying). Even setting up complex background machinations to keep an eye on you would be too much work...
But that doesn't mean that he leaves you alone entirely. If there is one thing that Belphegor tries to shield you from, it's his brothers. For possessive reasons, yes, but also as a form of protection.
Belphie is acutely aware of how often his brothers' shenanigans can lead to disaster. As such, he'll try to drag you out of their problems as much as possible.
It's not lost on him that the events that lead to your first demise were all due your penchant for meddling in his brothers' affairs. So in his eyes, a fairly simple and effective way to keep you out of trouble would be to keep you from them as much as possible.
As far as injuries go… "He dislikes seeing you hurt" is the least complicated way of putting things. Seeing you with major injuries obviously triggers some uncomfortable and unwanted memories for him, as it would for you. However, his emotions quickly get muddled up in it...
The sudden combination of fear, panic, shame, and anger can strike him at once and leave him in a frozen or vulnerable state... Painful for sure, but also not helpful in that situation. Minor injuries, thankfully, do not cause this reaction.
If you're injured and Belphegor appears to be going through trauma, we recommend calling for assistance from someone nearby or a different brother if possible (Satan would be a good option). Once you're stable, Belphegor will be relaxed somewhat but may need some cuddling.
Even with his lazy attitude, Belphegor does care for you and will try to keep you safe in his own way.  He may hide the intensity of his emotions behind a veil of apathy, but they run so strong that they can be paralyzing. Never doubt that he does love you, and try your best to be there for him when things become difficult...

We Need To Talk About Kevin
excuse the silly title, but it’s time for another long character analysis, this time on a character who holds a complicated place in the fandom consciousness: kevin
like every other character in aftg, i have a lot of criticisms for the way that the fandom tends to characterize kevin, because i feel like it tends to reduce a very complicated character down into very binary terms, that of either anal-retentive comic relief or a perfect, underappreciated innocent, both of which ignore his important flaws and the nuance of his character arc throughout the trilogy
now this meta is probably going to sound very, very critical of kevin, as i am focusing on his flaws. but i want to be clear that i don’t hate kevin, i don’t even dislike him. in fact i far prefer the deeply “problematic” kevin from canon to the highly sanitized version in the fandom, just like i prefer my andrew violent and unethical, my neil rude and messy, and my upperclassmen ableist and permissibly homophobic
one thing i really LOVE about aftg is how hypocritical every character is, because it’s honest. they all stand for something but fall a little flat of it in practice. they all hold the people around them to standards they don’t hold themselves to
they’re not simple characters. they reflect their trauma in ways that are not pretty or harmless, and they even reflect wider societal flaws that may not be logical or justifiable.
just like i do.
just like you do.
just like real people do.
---
so with that all squared away: kevin
let’s start with this: what is the essence of kevin’s character? what does he stand for? what is he about? when you simplify him out into a single idea, what is he?
answers will vary, but for me, kevin is an analysis of the idea that you can have everything, you can be rich and famous and talented and immensely lucky on top of it all, and you can still be abused
neil repeats this idea over and over. how he’s jealous of kevin. how he resents kevin. how he wishes he were kevin. because kevin had everything and neil had nothing
remember this?
Tumblr media
and this?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and this?
Tumblr media
kevin the star. kevin the sensation. kevin the media darling.
lucky kevin, talented kevin, beloved kevin
and then neil gets a little bit closer and learns that that’s not the whole story. kevin was isolated, his worth tied to his performance, his whole personhood tied to exy. the perfect boy who was forbidden from being too perfect, who had to walk on eggshells so as not to incur the wrath of his brother and guardian
but at the same time that doesn’t totally erase everything he did have
i think the fandom focuses a lot on kevin’s inferiority complex from being assigned second best, and not nearly as much on the idea that kevin was SECOND BEST, above everyone else
the fact that kevin had power and sway in the nest makes us deeply uncomfortable, because it complicates kevin’s status as a victim, but it’s the truth. kevin was the third most powerful person in the nest, above dozens of ravens, and not even an owned person like jean
we should attempt to reckon with the fact that kevin was not a passive player in the ravens’ power structure, but someone who was actively involved and benefited from it. the ravens were his pawns, too. his subordinates, there to critique and punish as he saw fit. they weren’t his equals and he didn’t have to view them as fellow people
even if you choose not to believe that kevin took advantage of this power in the way riko did, you still have to accept that it very much shaped his perception and way of connecting with others, which is obvious in how he interacts with the foxes
so let’s talk about kevin and his superiority complex
kevin is arrogant, self-centered, and entitled
it’s not all he is. he has other, better qualities. he’s dedicated, passionate, and - in his own way - caring. that doesn’t ERASE his flaws however
kevin believes himself to be correct 100% of the time. he thinks that his methods and his opinions should work for everyone simply because they work for him, and he tries heavily to push them onto other people. andrew remarks that neil will drive himself crazy trying to do things the way kevin tells him to, because he is simply a different kind of player than kevin. kevin’s methodology will never work for neil no matter how hard he tries and will just end up holding himself back if he keeps trying
andrew notices this, not kevin, because kevin believes that neil is simply not trying hard enough to do things the “right” way.
neil.
who tries harder than anyone to live up to kevin’s standards
he’s worse with the rest of the foxes, who unlike neil do not accept his methods unquestionably and don’t do backflips to make him happy.
the foxes recognize that kevin is talented and could have valuable things to teach them. kevin however thinks that he should have absolute authority over their training because his methods are “superior.” he thinks the foxes fail because they don’t listen to him and conform their playing styles to him
kevin also only approaches the upperclassmen on the court, and even there only with criticism and derision. he has never made any attempt to befriend them or get to know them in any way. he doesn’t need a rapport with them, he’s entitled to their obedience simply because he’s Kevin Day, The Son of Exy, The Best And Most Talented Of Them All
i’ve also written meta before about the assumptions kevin makes in his relationship with andrew. they have a deal that kevin will give andrew something to live for after he graduates. kevin, being who he is, decides that this thing MUST and WILL be exy, no matter how directly or indirectly andrew tells him this isn’t what he wants.
yet kevin never considers an alternative. he never asks andrew what he might want or never attempts to find anything else for him. they spend nearly every second of every day within arms reach of each other, yet kevin has never taken a moment to pay attention to andrew’s interests or preferences, anything that makes him tick. they know almost nothing personal about each other because kevin doesn’t believe any of that matters in giving andrew a future that makes him want to live. no. if it works for kevin it must work for everyone else. if kevin wants it everyone else must want it too
kevin’s relationships often become exclusionary. first with andrew, which i’ve just discussed. then with neil, kevin continually vies for more and more of his time, without regard for his health or concern for any other part of his life. he leaves neil with minimal time for school, pushes their practices late into the night depriving him of sleep, and discourages his efforts to spend time and make connections with the upperclassmen
now if at any point while reading this you, reader, wanted to argue that these things are because of the nest and kevin’s raven indoctrination, yes, you’re absolutely right, they are. it’s abundantly clear where and how each of these qualities developed, but once again, that doesn’t mean they’re not present. in fact, the clear connection between kevin’s flaws and his trauma is a sign of good character writing, showing the multiple dimensions of how our environments and experiences shape us
kevin’s anxiety, his obsessiveness, and his fear all come from the nest, but so does his condescension, his self-involvement, and his overbearing nature.
kevin was raised in a cult, but he was also from the very highest level of it. he comes from immense privilege in terms of his wealth, his influence, his fame, and his access to resources. materially, kevin has wanted for very little in his life, and his entitlement is very prominent in his character. none of this cancels out the abuse he suffered, but it’s also something i very rarely see addressed outside of being hinted at vaguely in a jokingly dismissive manner.
in fact, i often see takes on kevin that fully deny he has these traits at all, and that annoys me. i don’t like to see these wonderfully round characters flattened out, and there’s a particular irritating irony out of changing or misinterpreting a character’s personality in order to make them more palatable or more sympathetic in a series about how even people traumatized in unsympathetic ways are still deserving of help and decency
so
kevin can be a little morally gray,, as a treat

Finding ChristBorg: A TED talk about what happened during the Coldharbour Compact.
Reposted from my tes reddit bc I want to see what y’all think.
I can't tell if I'm a genius, completely insane, or if I'm just late to the lore-party. Time to find out I guess. TL;DR at the bottom.
So it has never been explained what Sotha Sil did during the Coldharbour Compact to convince the daedric princes to not manifest on Nirn without an intermediary, and it probably never will be since the mystery of it all is far too cool. But that doesn't mean I can't read into it like literature and look for meaning in the other texts I can compare it to.
To start, Vivec is based off of the Shakta variation of the half female/half male Ardhanarishvara, where the gold-skinned female half is the right side. Both Vivec and Ardhanarishvara represent unity and duality, and looking at some images of Ardhanarishvara, it's kinda hard to argue that Vivec wasn't based off of them. Kirkbride even confirmed that Ardhanarishvara was the inspiration for Vivec in an AMA. Now, Vivec is part of the god trio the Almsivi Tribunal, along with Almalexia and Sotha Sil. Shiva, who Ardhanarishvara is the avatar of, is also part of a god trio, called the Trimurti in Hinduism. So it would make sense if the other members of the tribunal are also based off of one member of a real world religious triad. I have a shaky idea of who Almalexia could be, but my theory for her god-inspiration is nowhere near as solid as my theory for Sotha Sil, who I believe is based on Jesus Christ.
To start, their characterizations have multiple similarities. Both are one branch of a god-triad, with Sotha Sil as part of the Tribunal, and Jesus as The Son in the Holy Trinity. Both serve as a teacher, with Jesus being referred to as Teacher several times in the Bible, and Sotha Sil giving lessons on magic and Mysticism to the Psijic Monks. Also, both are characterized as wise, patient, and celibate. They both talk about moral and philosophical concepts with their followers, neither Jesus nor Sotha Sil are shown as having a temper or raising their voices, and neither of them are shown with a spouse or partner. Sotha Sil is specifically shown as not caring about the Night Mother's attempts to sexually manipulate him in book seven of 2920, The Last Year of the First Era. Now I know that 2920 is considered a work of historical fiction in-universe, but I don't think that matters in this situation since I'm approaching this as a person reading a text, not as a person living inside the lore world.
In terms of specific scenes that connect Sotha Sil and Jesus, the first I will mention is that they both use a makeshift whip to beat intruding wrongdoers and drive them away, while yelling about fathers. In the Truth in Sequence vol. 8 book, it says that "[t]hrough His will alone, Mighty Seht wound the veins (of metal ore) into god-bronze whips, and lashed the Prince pitilessly," saying "[b]ehold the wrath of lost Ald Sotha! Know death at my hands, false-son of a false-father!" In the Bible, Jesus found people doing sales in a place of worship, and then He "made a whip of cords, (and) He drove them all out of the temple," saying “Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!” (John 2 15-16).
Also, Jesus had close friends and followers who were called his apostles, and Sotha Sil has his own Clockwork Apostles. Sil's apostles reside in the Clockwork Basilica, and while basilica isn't an exclusively Christian term, it is frequently used to describe a type of church architecture, and is a term the pope uses to recognize distinguished churches.
Another similarity that I found was in the plot of Morrowind, where Sotha Sil's death was caused at the hands of Almalexia, who was someone he had once loved and trusted, much like with Jesus and Judas.
The most notable life similarity as it relates to the Coldharbour Compact is that both leave the earthly world in order to make a deal for the benefit of the souls on earth, and then return to the earthly world. This parallel is given extra weight with the descriptions of the scene in the book 2920, The Last Year of the First Era. Sotha Sil returns from Coldharbour by way of someone "rolling aside the great boulder that blocked the entrance to the Dreaming Cavern. This sounds a lot like the scene in the bible of the discovery that Jesus had risen from the dead, where "an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door" (Matthew 28:2). In addition, Jesus said "after He is killed, He will rise [on] the third day," (Matthew 17:23) and after Sotha Sil returned from Coldharbour, he "felt he had been away for months, years, but only a few days had transpired." Perhaps it had been 3?
In addition to the life and behavior similarities, there are similarities in dress. In the 2920 book, Sotha Sil is always described as wearing a white robe or cloak. In ESO, Sotha Sil is shown as barefoot, and wearing a blue sash over his long white robe. In medieval and renaissance art, Jesus is most always depicted as barefoot, and is frequently shown with a blue cloth over his shoulder. In most resurrection art, as well as in almost all 20th/21st century art, Jesus is depicted as dressed in white. While Jesus usually isn't usually shown wearing both the blue sash and the white robe at once like Sotha Sil is, I found one modern interpretation of Jesus that does dress him this way, and several depictions of him in Chinese art that also portray him like this.
I'm feeling almost conspiratorial here, but these similarities are far too many for me to think it's accidental, and therefore I have to think that all of this is meant to suggest that Sotha Sil serves a Christ-figure role in his story, i.e. in sacrificing own life like Jesus did in order to make his deal in the Coldharbour Compact. However I don't think Sil's sacrifice was quite so simple. After he is asked what he offered the Daedra in return for the deal, he states: "The deals we make with Daedra... [s]hould not be discussed with the innocent." This implies that in contrast to the Christ mythos, Sil's sacrifice was not blameless; he did not come out of the deal with his hands clean.
So, a Christ-like sacrifice that isn't quite as pure and selfless as it is in Christianity. What could that be?
My theory is that in order to make the Coldharbour Compact, he sold the lives of Vivec and Almalexia along with his own. Perhaps he told the princes that he knew the tribunal's godhood would end, and in exchange for their cooperation he promised not to tell the other tribunes or make any attempt to prevent his and his companions' demise. (After all, as far as I know he made the mechanical heart for keeping his city functional, not for recreating the divinity the heart of Lorkhan provided.) Or, maybe he offered to do something to assist in bringing the Tribunal down, and losing Sunder and Keening, the tools that helped them maintain their divinity, was intentional on his part. Sil deliberately sacrificing his own life appears to be reflected in Azura's statement after his death. She said "he shed his mortality long ago, and I am certain his death was no small relief to him." Of course she'd know that he let go of his life ages ago if he had willingly sold it to her. Of course she would be certain that he found his death to be a relief, if she'd heard him say so himself when he was explaining why a god would ever offer such a deal.
It would also make sense with Sotha Sil's character, since he allegedly loved the people on Nirn more than Almalexia or Vivec did, and the destruction of Gilverdale could have definitely been a traumatic enough reminder of the destruction of Ald Sotha for him to do something dramatic to prevent it ever happening again. And guilt over sacrificing his friends could have definitely been a contributing factor to the worsening self-isolation and intense depression in his later life. It would also be a definite explanation for why he apparently never met another soul in the 10 years between losing the tools and his death. Not only had he become extremely disillusioned with the imperfections of the world, he had now finalized the deal he made so long ago, and saw no point in continuing to interact with a deeply flawed world he was essentially finished with.
However, I do see some issues with this and how it would work in-universe. Namely the fact that Hermaeus Mora's seekers said the prince received something from every individual on Nirn as part of the deal, which is quite different from what I'm suggesting. A different deal for each prince would also explain why Sil was able to include Clavicus Vile and Mephala in the compact at a much later date. There would be no reason for Vile and Mephala to submit to a collective deal whose terms had already been decided. So if he offered the tribunal's lives as part of the deal, he would have needed to offer other things as well. But for me the most significant in-universe issue I struggled with was that using his death as a bargaining tool would create a massive problem for his ability to enforce the deal in the future. This could explain why both Molag Bal and Mehrunes Dagon manifested on Nirn after Sotha Sil's death, but since I think they were summoned by qualified mortals that could have been a loophole. Either way, making a deal that is meant to last forever by promising something that can never be taken back in the case of a breach of contract seems extremely short-sighted for someone who claims to be cursed with certainty. Especially considering how many of the princes there were known to be cheats and liars.
Unless, that is, you believe this theory I read about the reason why Sil was completely silent as he was killed. My original belief was that he was silent because he'd seen it coming long ago, and knew that nothing he could have said would have changed Almalexia's mind. And while that would be in character for him, now I'm starting to think that it was because he had already uploaded his consciousness elsewhere. This would fit in with the Christ-figure parallels, due to the Christian belief that Jesus is risen from the dead and very much alive. While Jesus returned to life at the same time he emerged from the cave, the completion of Sotha Sil's death sacrifice didn't happen until long after his return via the cave. While I have found no explicit evidence that he's still around, when you find his body in Morrowind he is shown hanging, with his arms outstretched at his sides, in a sort of crucifixion pose. And after the crucifixion comes the resurrection. Perhaps Sotha Sil is still around somewhere in the gears of his city, and he promised the princes he'd never be present or have any influence on Nirn so long as they kept up their end of the deal. Additionally, the 37th sermon of Vivec mentions Sotha Sil as holding "his swollen belly," carrying "[his] daughter." While Vivec's sermons are hardly ever literal, Kirkbride's comments suggest that maybe Vivec was being somewhat literal in this instance. Regarding this concept art, Kirkbride said "note the cosmic baby growing inside Sotha Sil. While Sotha Sil is dead as we saw in the add-on pack “Tribunal”, the child survived." Perhaps one of Sotha Sil's many body modifications made him able to carry and birth a child, and then he created a daughter through self-cloning or some other method that allows him to have enough influence to enforce the compact.
TL;DR - Sotha Sil has a lot of similarities with Jesus, so he's a Christ figure and therefore his sacrifice in the Coldharbour Compact was himself, and Almalexia and Vivec too, and that also means that he may still be around.
Anyways, thanks for reading and sorry if this sounds like I'm putting red strings on a wall as my application essay to the r/SothaSimps fan club. Also, lmk if I'm missing anything obvious. For me right now Reading Lore On The Bedroom Floor is a bit more manageable than playing the games, and there may be something I've just completely looked over.

My Take on the Obey Me Boys
So. I was talking with @voltagesmutter She always gets my stuff that I possibly may post as well as just fragments of fics that may or may not come to be. After seeing the amazing bondage images here  I broke down my take on the guys after sending her a small Lucifer piece inspired by the image.
She suggested I post my take on the guys because she liked how I broke them down.
I have not finished up to Chapter 40. I am currently stuck at Chapter 22. So anything that may be proven/disproven in future chapters.
So spoilers about Lilith and Belphegor (See Belphegor and Beelzebub’s) and Satan.
These are all my personal opinions and takes on the characters and why they act the way they do and how they need to be handled. If you’d like to see them, please view under the cut.
Lucifer:
Lucifer is a caretaker. He is a fixer. He is the person you go to to get a more parental/authoritative help. This is part of why he holds his pride in such a high regard. People go to him because he is the person they can rely on. However, because of this, he sacrifices his own self care, both health wise and emotionally. It gets to the point he probably does not know how to let go and the moment he does give up that control, that emotional surrender will take so much of pent up feelings and break him down. It will be a time that the Avatar of Pride will realize that surrendering his pride to the one he trusts, the one he loves, is not as scary, not the humiliation he thought it would have been, so long as he was accepted and his letting go was treated with the respect it deserves.
Mammon:
Mammon has what I think could easily be classified as Middle child syndrome. The idea of “never being good enough” compared to his older brother and younger brothers. He acts out for the attention he gets, he is the personification of any attention is good attention, even if it leads to the emotional and verbal abuse of him being called “stupid,” “scum,” “idiot,” and so on. He is probably the second most sacrificing out of the seven. Unlike Lucifer, who gets recognized for what he does, Mammon does not receive this recognition, leaving him attention deprived in every sense of the word. Despite his words, Mammon shows MC nothing but patience and in his own way, care towards them despite the occasional comment. He, like Asmo, has never turned his anger on MC in the way his siblings has. He has never turned his Demon form on MC in aggression. This boy gets flustered because he doesn’t know how to take kind words, does not know how to take a gentle touch. If his own brothers don’t respect him, why would other demons? So when he is given pure, gentle affection in terms of touches, love, kind words, he has no defense other then to try and brush it off and put himself into an outside role. It is often “The Great Mammon” not “me”. It would take time for him to truly accept that the words, the love, the affection, and attention are meant for him.
Leviathan:
Levi is someone I see as contact deprived. He, in my opinion, is the personification of, “If I don’t do it, it can’t hurt me” in a way. He finds acceptance in the 2D because they won’t turn him down. They won’t deny him love, attention, and kind words. For him, that is something that is priceless so he’ll spend as much money as he can to keep that happy feeling from it. Ruri is so important to him because she has been the one to accept him through his otaku nature. (Something I believe many fans of Obey me and other Otome Games can probably relate to). Looking over all of the boys, Belphegor, Satan, and Leviathan are the ones who do not have wings as Demons (See Satan’s post for spoilers). One could assume that they lost them when they changed from Angels to Demons. It is possible that he feels like he is no longer complete, and finding comfort in the 2D is what helps him go through his life, because it will love him no matter what, whereas real people can and possibly would reject him. So, it will take a massive amount of patience and persistence to convince this boy he is loved by someone that is real. It will take a lot of contact when he is okay with it, a lot of affirmation. He’ll degrade himself, he won’t believe someone could love him, likely because he doesn’t even love himself. Consistency will be something he needs and even when he gets frustrating, being angry at him can cause him to turn back in on himself.
Satan:
Spoilers for Satan’s Creation. Skip if you do not want spoilers.
Satan is the only one of the boys that was not an Angel. Created from Lucifer’s Anger, his wrath, there will always be a looming sense of the fact that he is not his own person. Unintentionally, this likely makes him more angry, especially when he ends up being more and more like Lucifer. He lives off the notion that knowledge is power, and because of that he buries himself in his own personal library that is called his room. He reads everything and anything he can get his hands on, letting himself get lost in the tales, the lives of fictional beings. This is likely the place where he learned how to have contact with people outside of his brothers. His family, Lucifer and the others, are a fractured bunch, despite that they do love one another, however, it does not leave the idea of social skills. Satan is likely faced on a daily basis with his own inferiority complex, and his way to battle that is by locking away his emotions because he probably does not know how to truly handle things outside of anger, in which he could easily pick a fight with one of the others. He’ll understand the notions of love, happiness, pleasure, fear, and so on, but it could be assume because how closed off the rest of the brothers are to the rest of the world outside of Diavolo and the few they interact with, Satan has never experienced these things first hand. His own emotions will surprise him, so he needs to be treated with care, especially once he opens someone up to his world, the safe place among the books. He won’t take well to teasing when he does show it unless it is all in good manner, something that is finished off with tender words and soft soothing that it is okay. That his feelings are his own and they are okay.
Asmodeus:
Asmo is someone who hides behind his looks. He knows he is beautiful and it is often shown just how much care he puts into his physical appearance through diets, skincare, clothes, and so on. However, despite this, it does not seem that Asmo makes any personal connections, only physical. He likely has never felt someone love him for him, love him for who he is under all of the care. He possibly is self conscious of being clingy emotionally. There is a running question if Asmo understands the difference between the idea of love and actual love. He needs someone who sees past the skin deep appearances, who could see him at his worst and call him beautiful, who wants him beyond the physical. He needs someone who will take care of his needs emotionally. Aggressive isn’t the word I would use about him, because he is not going to force anyone into anything, but he does push the idea of being physically intimate. He needs someone who can say no. Someone to show him what love is as much as they need to take care of his emotions. Rejection will likely baffle him because he knows how beautiful he is, how appealing he is, and if you’re attracted to him physically, he’ll notice. If you say no, despite all of this, if you explain you want to know him for him, it is likely he won’t understand how to take it.
Beelzebub:
Spoilers for Lilith’s story and Beel’s story during the Celestial War.
Beel is a protector, he sacrifices on a physical level. He loved fully and completely and that is probably the scariest thing to him. Because he knows just how big and strong he is and he knows how openly he wears his heart once someone knows him. He’d die before he let someone hurt someone important to him. Beel threw himself in front of his twin, and he blames himself and believes Belphie to blame him for not taking the deadly shot for Lilith. Beel is someone who loves easily, which is why he’ll come off aggressive or even distant when someone meets him, as seen with MC. He knows he wants to protect people, but his duty is to his family first. His sin, his gluttony, also often upsets people. His brothers go out of their way to stop him from raiding the fridge, on one of his Devilgram he is even scolded for sleep eating. He makes comments to MC that he does not feel as hungry when they are around, which leads to the conclusion, his gluttony is fueled by his emotions. He feels an emptiness early on. Belphie is not around, his steady guilt about Lilith, so he tries to fill this void created by his own emotions by eating. Beel is someone that deserves all of the love and praise. He will always be gluttonous, that is who he is. Helping him find a way to manage it without belittling him is perfect way to help care and show love for him. Understand he loves his family, and he would never want to be forced to choose between them. Beel and his brothers, especially Belphie, come as a packaged deal.
Belphegor:
Spoilers for Lilith’s story prior to the Celestial War and Belphie’s release from the room. ( I believe Chapter 16?)
Belphie was, in the Celestial realm, the baby among the brothers. He was able to get away with a lot of things, which was how he was able to sneak away so often that it had caused Lilith to grow curious. After Lilith’s death, that adoration and love for the human kind turned bitter in his chest. All of the good they had brought him had corrupted in the depth of his soul. His freedom was gone along with his sister, and that was a guilt that would weigh on his soul for several reasons. Beel had protected him rather than Lilith, and Belphie would likely blame himself because of all of this had been started because she followed his example and went to the Human Realm. After his actions towards MC, after killing them before Barbatos’ actions, the self-loathing will return in full force because he nearly killed off someone that had treated him with kindness, that knew his sins... that had been related to his reborn sister. He won’t know how to let go of his control, it would be all he has. It is why he will come off as aggressive or even aloof towards people at times. Belphie likely will have two ways to handle his emotions, full force release or resistance. If he trusts the person, they’ll see Belphie go into full cling. He’ll often cling to the person, trusting them fully because it is all he feels he could offer. Himself. It is also why if he does not have that trust with someone he will come off as aggressive and sharp. Belphie will always hold his regrets close to his chest, he needs someone to affirm that if he has been forgiven or not and if he hasn’t what he can do to earn that forgiveness. He needs to be treated with kid gloves in terms of being gentle in tone, but do not sugar coat it. He needs to be told if he is upset someone, if he has hurt them and he’ll likely need to know why, he is not the type to understand the weight of his words or actions until after it is done. He needs clear communication and open affection.

hi! 💕i really like your blog! it’s so detailed and well written! not only that but it’s accurate as well! you’re doing great! ☺️ if someone hasn’t asked already, can u write general relationship hcs for the vinsmoke brothers! (excluding Sanji lol.)
Tumblr media
You two are so sweet! Your words really mean a lot to me and I hope I continue to meet your expectations haha.~ But I’m not gonna lie, writing for these boys was hard. I thought Yonji was going to be the easiest, but he probably gave me the most struggle out of the three (can you tell which brother I’m partial to? lol). With that being said, I hope they’re not too OOC, and if they are... my bad. I really hope you guys enjoy it, though!~ Thank you for the requests!~ 😁
General Relationship HCs - Ichiji, Niji, and Yonji Vinsmoke
Tumblr media
Ichiji
Ichiji is probably the hardest one to form a proper relationship with as he tends to let his strong sense of superiority dictate his behaviors, though his actions aren't necessarily governed by choice. In order to be in a relationship with him, his S/O ought to meet his standards. He doesn't want someone who's weak-willed or easily discouraged by a challenge; he wants someone who can keep up with him and share his unwavering mentality.
He's often distant in the relationship, only seeking his S/O if he wants something from them or wishes to brag of Germa's victory from their latest battle. He's mostly talking about how he practically does all of the work each time, but it strokes his ego when his S/O listens intently and compliments him.
Being the eldest brother, he prefers to keep a dominant role in the relationship where he gets to make a majority of the decisions, feeling content as long as he isn't undermined. His S/O will have some say, of course, but if he feels like he's being forced to do something he hates, he won't refrain from putting his foot down.
Ichiji will only behave romantically if the mood calls for it, so if he's not craving attention from his S/O, he'll just remain unbothered despite his S/O's advances. He'll smile at their gestures, but he values his autonomy too much to let anyone, including his partner, sway his actions.
He puts a lot of value in his S/O's beauty, but not nearly as much as Niji and Yonji do. He tries to compliment their most alluring features, but they often sound like lecherous comments.
He certainly wants his partner to be loyal to him at all times, disliking when they scold him for his cruel and callous behaviors. It's confusing when his S/O claims to love him one second only to wish for him to change in the next. He feels belittled, and this doesn't sit well with him.
On a brighter note, he is very protective of his S/O, reacting violently when his S/O is in threat of danger. He can never keep a solid explanation for why he behaves in such a way toward them, but his S/O can speculate a few causes for his protectiveness.
Ichiji is not as active as his brothers, so time spent with his S/O often includes lounging around in silence or going for leisurely walks. Surprisingly, he does enjoy a good conversation with his S/O, finding amusement in their stories and hopeful plans for their future.
The eldest brother is rarely, if ever, affectionate with his S/O in public or in the presence of his family, but in private, he's much more willing to slink an arm around their waist or allow them to hold his hand. He doesn't quite understand his S/O's liking to his small affectionate gestures, but he will admit that he gets a good feeling from it.
Although maintaining a relationship with Ichiji comes with it's grueling challenges, there will always be moments that remind Ichiji's S/O that he willingly accepted to be in a relationship with them, and he does value his S/O. He just can't bring himself to say it so blatantly.
Tumblr media
Niji
Of the three brothers, Niji comes across as the least desirable in terms of relationship material, but he may as well be the most considerate brother. Sure, he may lack sympathy and compassion for others, but he's still capable of forming a proper partnership with someone.
A relationship with Niji thrives on the idea of costs and benefits. He'll be more than happy to go on the little date his S/O planned for them as long as he gets something out of it, whether it may be a dessert he's been craving or a heated make out session by the end of the night. As long as he gets what he wants by the end of the day, he'll oblige his S/O's wishes.
He may be a tad more hotheaded than Ichiji when it comes to being questioned for his morally questionable behaviors. He'll yell and argue with his S/O, and maybe breaking something, but he won't raise a hand to them as he holds too much respect for them. The servants, on the other hand, may end up on the receiving end of his wrath, unfortunately.
Since he's got an explosive temper, his S/O has to be able bounce back from any fights or arguments that they have, or they should at least be comfortable with letting him have his episodes and not stir the pot. He'll calm down sooner than you might think, and he'll go back to being his regular self, as if the fight never happened. He never apologizes, but if his S/O does, he'll say that the feeling is mutual.
Among the three brothers, Niji is perhaps the most romantic and that's saying a lot on it's own. He's more attuned to what his S/O wants in the relationship, and he'll oblige so long as he gets what he wants, too.
Like Ichiji, Niji is very protective over his S/O, becoming visibly upset and worried when his S/O is hurt. He's the type to never show any mercy to those who harm his S/O, even if it was only an accident. In his mind, people ought to treat his S/O as if they're the most sacred person on the planet. Otherwise, they'd have to deal with him.
Niji also has a great sense of humor, as long as he doesn't feel like he's the butt of someone else's joke. He's prefers to laugh at someone else's expense, but if his S/O says something clever and sarcastic, he'll have a good laugh.
Being in a relationship with Niji is complicated and tricky, but if his S/O can navigate him towards his better self, he could make for a relatively charming boyfriend. And he may not come upfront with his love for his S/O, but he’ll remind them in his own unique way.
Tumblr media
Yonji
Yonji is the most honest of his brothers, often speaking out about his desires and openly expressing what he likes, so it's obvious when he fancies the idea of a relationship. As long as his partner meets his standards, he'll gladly start a relationship with them.
He's terribly blunt, so when he flirts with his S/O, he's guaranteed to sound a bit sleazy. He doesn't mean to sound perverse all the time, but he honestly thinks he's being romantic and sweet with them. His S/O will have to teach him the difference, and whether he learns from it or not depends heavily on how mischievous he's feeling.
Yonji has a much better sense of humor than his two brothers, so his S/O is free to joke with him all they want. Pranks wars are another story. His competitiveness may lead to him taking things a bit too far if his S/O doesn't watch him. Aside from that, he genuinely enjoys making his S/O laugh until they're blue.
The green-haired Vinsmoke always tries too hard to impress his S/O with his strength and prowess. His idea is that if he keeps going over-the-top with everything he does, his S/O will continue to think highly of him, but he doesn't know that he looks like a dork sometimes. It might give his S/O a good laugh, though.
He particularly enjoys taking his S/O on dinner dates or picnic outings, as long as he's doing two of his favorite things: eating some good food and spending time with his S/O, one of his favorite people.
He absolutely loves it when his S/O is feisty. Nothing gets him more riled up than a partner who challenges him, and he'll sometimes push their button just to get them all fired up. He can't think of anything hotter than an irritated, yet gorgeous S/O.
As much as Yonji likes to spoil his S/O with expensive gifts and all the worshipping he can offer, he’ll never deny that he likes being spoiled. He wants his S/O to cuddle up to him, he wants them to surprise him with home-cooked meals even if those meals go wrong, and he definitely wants them to shower him with loving gestures and sweet praises. He is the baby, after all.
He's definitely a ride or die kind of guy, so if his S/O gets into trouble, he'll hop to the rescue in no time. If his S/O wants him to bend the rules a little bit, he's all for it. As long as he and his S/O are living it up and having a good time doing it, he'll gladly neglect his duties to Germa to have some fun.
Like his brothers, Yonji is very protective of his S/O, but he's less likely to throw punches unless he finally gets fed up with whoever was starting trouble. For the most part, he'll shield his S/O from any danger while bragging to his S/O that he doesn't feel a thing.
Yonji is also the most affectionate out of his brothers, always wanting to hold his S/O's hand and kiss their cheek. And though he can't explain why being with his S/O makes him feel warm and fantastic on the inside, he has a much easier time showing it through his actions. Even if Yonji's actions are a miss sometimes, his intentions are always there, and his intentions are to make his S/O happy.

~SD Q AND A (These are all questions from you! Specifically those in my server):~
1. What is vals usual duties as a prince of hell? Does he have hobbies he enjoys doing? Does he even like humans if so what does he like about them? 🔥Val has less duties as Costello because even though he is a prince he is not the head of that Kingdom. Though to be fair Costello doesn't really mind doing the work it keeps his mind occupied. Mainly it's Val's job to deal with Coven direction/communication. I mean he has hobbies but uh... those are not appropriate to mention. Remember Val's cardinal sin is lust X'D He does enjoy music so he will spend time learning different musical styles or instruments. All in all he is pretty laid back and enjoys a good time. He’s a party boy, but he will be serious if needed.   Costello's position allows Val to be kind of a hedonist. His other job is based in contracts. Most Princes don't directly deal with humans unless circumstances allow due to their past history. It's his job to essentially make sure that quotas are being met. Let's just say he prefers the Mortal Realm because he loves messing with mortals.
2. Does Val prefer like manipulating people or playing pranks more? 🔥 He enjoys manipulating people.
3. How does it feel for Val to take another's life? What did it feel like the first time?
🔥 When he first Fell he struggled with the duality of his Clelestial/Infernal blood. It's the concept of the first life he took was hard on him but the moment he looks at the blood he essentially breaks. After that he gains the nickname of Beast because he revels in the kills. Eventually, he earns the "title" of the Bloodstained Beast which is where Beast comes from.
4. Is Val overall sure of himself or does he struggle with loads of insecurities?
🔥He is sure of himself outwardly but alone not so much. Like I said before the majority of the brothers struggle with what they used to be and what they have become. His father's influence pushed his mind to justify the horrible things he has done. When Darrius is locked away the brothers have to come to terms with the monsters they have become.
5. Does Val ever suffer from depression?
🔥I wouldn't call it depression. It is not that severe. It is more like self doubt or regret.
6. What does it mean to be "alive" for Val?
🔥Unlike Infernals born in that realm, the brothers still have their Celestial souls but they are badly corrupted. Being alive for him is feeling the emotions that he used to when he was a Celestial. Think of their corruption as losing a sense of self. Most think that his "highs" come from drinking, pleasure, and the usual sinful fair but that’s not entirely true.
7. Does Val struggle with who he is?
🔥It depends on what part of the timeline. In the beginning he struggles a lot until he snaps but then doesn't care at all as if his original soul has gone numb. Over the centuries he does begin to mellow out and eventually when he meets Eve he changes his tune. Even before their meeting he is far more self conscious.
8. Do Val’s emotions of himself ever reflect on others or does he keep them tightly wound?
🔥He keeps his emotions tightly wound unless he is with someone he trusts and by god is it hard to gain any of these boys trust. They were betrayed by their father and their other family... so they have major abandonment and trust issues.
9.  Has there ever been a time where Val considered "love" over "lust"?
🔥Yes! In fact that is what he used to be. He was a Celestial of love and affection. It is one of the reasons that I made his alias name Valentine. Eve is the love of his life and he treats her as such.
10. If the brothers get their hands on souls what do they do with them? Will each prince treat souls differently from one another?
🔥Soul wise they can consume souls for their power, which they are already ungodly powerful already. The only caveat to that is that it corrupts their souls further. Sometimes those souls end up tormenting them for a while before they fade away. Each one has a different effect depending on the soul itself not so much the one who consumes it.
11. What happens to changelings that die? Do they become infernal beasts/imps? or does something else happen?
🔥They essentially meet a permanent end, however, I should mention that they kind of get recycled in a way? Think of it as giving the energy back to the realm. It strengthens it. There are various artifacts and runes of great power strewn throughout the realm that are powered by dead Infernal life forces.
~The Infernal Realm Info~
General Structure:
The Infernal Realm is divided into an odd configuration that would imply something along the lines of Dante’s Inferno but the rings do not consecutively branch out. In the center the Infernal Palace in the capital city of Eden rests surrounded by the homes and residences of the Infernal elite. The ring outside those gates consists of five kingdoms; Lust (being the largest of the five), Pride, Greed, Envy, and Wrath.
The outer most ring consists of the other 2 kingdoms; Sloth and Gluttony. Lastly the outer “walls” or ring is a wasteland for lost souls that neither belong in Heaven or Hell. This is what most would consider to be Purgatory but that would be factually incorrect. The gateway to purgatory is hidden within this land's monochrome and misty forests. There are also rumors that a gateway to the other realms also lies in these woods safely guarded by Infernal Beasts with loyalty to their King. There is in fact a portal to the mortal realm in each kingdom and heavily guarded by whoever each Prince sees fit. In the beginning of their banishment the Princes began to build on the outskirts of the realm working their way inward this causes an influence on the architectural influences. The further out the kingdom the the more ancient. SO each Kingdom is influenced by a specific period in time. This also coincides with the technology seen in the kingdom. The exception are the Prince’s castles. An example of this is Gin’s Kingdom of Sloth. His kingdom is heavily ancient Egyptian based but he is obsessed with the mortal realm so he still has technology but you can only find it in his “castle”. You wouldn’t see that kind of tech outside those walls. In addition each kingdom is divided by a dangerous wasteland in order to deter souls from trying to escape kingdoms.
The only means of travel is a railway that travels from kingdom to kingdom. The tracks move and shift (kind of like the stairs in Harry Potter) to the destination that is required. One needs a ticket otherwise you can’t get on the railway and this is generally used by Imps or the occasional changeling if they are given permission to do so.
Darrius’ Prison (The Wasted Hollow): Darrius is locked in a very specific prison stuck in between the Infernal and the Mortal Realm. It's a cushy small cage that can only be opened by the power of the 12 Princes. There is not a living soul in it except for him. This place dampens his abilities but they all cannot be contained. He has imparted his influence in multiple ways by reaching out to mortals and demons alike. Under his instruction they have created different cults. They are currently clandestine under the New Order and the New Mortal Realm.
Note: If it was possible to get an aerial view of the entire Infernal Realm it would look very similar to a contract symbol or in essence a seal. This is due to the railway system that connects the kingdoms together. It’s a relatively new future as the millennia have progressed but the formation of these lines is in fact in the shape of a pentagram.
~The Kingdoms (7)~
Lust (Inner Ring)- The kingdom that used to be ruled by the current King of the Realm. The hierarchy works that each kingdom rules over a certain sin committed by those punished. The closer that they are to The Capital the richer and more prosperous. It’s era of influence is the Roaring 20′s and that can be seen in it’s more art deco styled architecture and fashion sense. The lust kingdom is ruled by Costello who is the crown prince and following that is Val. He is a prince as well but uncrowned to one of the major kingdoms (he could honestly care less).The kingdom of lust revels in opulence and is known for its material wealth and the demons here tend to be debaucherous and are known for their slave/pet dealings. In this kingdom they tend to be overly needy causing them to sate their desires with damned souls or each-other.  It is well known that nothing can really saite these demons appetites for pleasure. They do as they will but continue to follow under the rules set forth by the King. The demons of this kingdom however tend to get away with more considering their kingdoms standing. Lust also does not just account for physical pleasure but lust for things such as wealth or power are prime examples. It is rumored that the two brothers appear to be opposites in their handling of the sin. Costello being more about possession and passion while Beast is more the stereotypical lust. Out of all the kingdoms this one seems to be the “best” one to be sentenced to especially if you find yourself at the feet of its rulers. The humans here are usually taken care of quite nicely though it is also rumored that some of those souls in question do not belong in Hell at all.   Appearance wise the Lust kingdoms Castle is paved with marble and gold. It is near spotless excluding wealth and grandeur. The massive walls that hide the Castle from view are covered in thick lush green vines and flowers. They have lace like porticos that spill a strange liquid from snake-like mouths. It is said that a human that even consumes a drop of it will be subject to their demon masters will for eternity. A strong manipulative love potion in essence. The Palace gardens are almost as if they were taken from the Garden of Eden itself which is entirely possible. The further away from the epicenter of the city becomes less ostentatious though not dilapidated by any means. Many of the Infernal elite live in this kingdom commonly.
Pride (Inner Ring)- The kingdom of Pride is ruled by Carthus and Dusk which resides in the inner ring. As such it too exudes opulence at its center. The Kingdom supplies and trains those for the Capitals personal guard as well as the demons that are considered soldiers. This is also the Kingdom of the tainted. Those that are not quite demon but also not quite human. A long time ago when demons walked among the humans in the first mortal realm they wrecked havoc. The Princes of Pride manipulated humanity so much so that they began to turn them away from their old religions so that they would worship them instead.
In turn the two brothers (along with the Princes of the Kingdom of Greed) toyed with human souls creating Infernal half breeds. What humanity calls vampires, werewolves, and so forth. The humans began to decline at rapid numbers since those of half Infernal blood easily hunted the weak. Now they span the wasteland of Purgatory sometimes finding themselves in the Infernal or Mortal Realms.
Humans of high status on earth are also subjected to the same kind of torment they put on others in the worst way possible. Dictators, murderers and the like in this kingdom. It is a series of mind altering and psychologically torturing pathways and darkness. The only ones that are able to navigate this kingdom are those born from it’s depths or the Princes themselves as Dusk is the one that devised this horrifying MC Esher maze. It is influenced by the Late Victorian and Edwardian period. This kingdom’s seasons and magically produced light source can vary but the majority of the time the skies resemble twilight fading into darkness as you get further away from the castle.
Wrath (Inner Ring)- The Kingdom of Wrath is the kingdom of War and bloodlust ruled by Sokan and Azrin. This is the kingdom known as The Cell unlike the kingdom of Lust, Wrath only shows off it’s splendor near it’s castle and some of the surrounding areas. It is mostly utilized as a giant torture pit. This is where souls are sent as punishment of the most severe crimes and tortured mercilessly sometimes torn to shreds only to be revived.
Their leader is a ruthless warden of sorts making sure that everyone obeys the laws both set forth for demon or soul. Demons sentenced to exile are also detained here in this confusing catacomb prison. It is filled with deadly traps and pitfalls to prevent escape as well. The human souls usually sentenced here were the warriors that committed atrocities without a second glance at the innocent. Those that killed children in the name of the king is an example of this.
The Cell is also where souls are twisted beyond recognition and where most new demons are made. In this world demons are made not born and those corrupted souls become the new generation. It could take years. It could take centuries but being thrown into The Cell is a sure fire sentence into Infernal rebirth.
There are two rulers of this kingdom and as such two types of punishments. While Boss rules over the Pit, Azrin is his little torture aficionado. Those sentenced are usually the type of killers that were mentally undone. Ones that took a sick twisted pleasure in their artistry. Those are usually brought from the outside. Their ruler, Azrin, is what one might call… unhinged at best. They are known for their experimentation attempting to twist mortal souls into whatever is desired... following in the footsteps of his older brothers.
Greed (Inner Ring)- The kingdom of Greed is unlike any other kingdom as it houses an insurmountable number of souls within it (even if they don’t last long). It’s influence is the High Gothic Period, just think Dracula’s castle and forest. The ruler of Greed, Crimson, is a ruthless warlord with an unusual thirst for blood and not in the war hungry way. It’s second Prince, Grimm, enjoys torturing souls himself and will generally set up elaborate hunts to that end.
It’s alternate title is that of the Kingdom of Blood. Those unfortunate souls forced to end up in such a horrible kingdom will find themselves subject to experimentation or unwinable hunts. Crimson was the one that started all of this half breed creation along with Carthus and Dusk. Though there were many creatures that came about through this experimentation Crimson and Grimm are specifically tied to two infernal blooded hybrids. The two brothers are most likely where the vampire and werewolf mythology stem from.
Both brothers continue to play with their human “toys” as they did so long ago. They enjoy the thrill of hunting down those sentenced and revel in their success. Crimson prefers the opulence and riches that his sin provides while Grimm is more down to earth. It may account for his more bestial nature as he has a similar animalistic inclination like that of his youngest brother Ouro.
Envy (Inner Ring)- This is the kingdom that trains and outsources spies as well as assassins. Demonic hitmen used to gain political power among their respective kingdoms. They are known for their thieves mostly stealing from their neighboring kingdom of greed, specifically souls.  Envy is known as the shadow kingdom usually housing those souls of the occult and black magic. Those that tried to obtain the unobtainable through magical or demonic means like that of Hedge Witches.
Sanneth does not take kindly to this as these souls are tortured for all eternity forced to relive and conjure their own worst fears or transgressions. A never ending nightmare would be an apt description. Like his younger brother Dusk, Sanneth does not embrace his sin as much as the others. His abilities reflect his more Celestial blood but alas he is a Prince and therefore a kingdom he must rule.
Sanneth also happens to be the twin brother of Carthus and the two are constantly at odds. He believes that they can conduct their “duty” without fulling turning into monsters while Carthus revels in his corruption. The 4th eldest prince’s envy could stem from his desire to return to how he once was. The castle rests in a season of eternal Spring influenced by the Japanese Edo period.
Gluttony (Outer Ring)- Those that are placed into this kingdom as punishment are subjected to torture of starvation and thirst. The princes castle is surrounded by a never ending desert with no hope for food or drink. Souls are forced to starve wandering this desert for the rest of eternity. The demons banished into this place feast on mortal corpses that fall, tearing them to pieces like scavengers.
When the sun sets these mortals end up back where they started in one piece having to endure the same torture over and over. Ouro the ruler of his kingdom does not do much in the way of duty. He tends to delegate his jobs to other lower level demons. If a mortal manages to cross the desert the torture is with standing. Any food will turn to ash in their mouths and any water will burn the throat. It is an endless never quenchable thirst and hunger. It’s influence is that of Mesoamerica such as the ancient Maya and Aztec civilizations.  Sloth (Outer Ring)- Sloth is the final kingdom before the Outer Ring. It is “ruled” by Prince Gin though no one could actually tell you what it takes to maintain the kingdom as he tends to delegate everything to his Dukes.
The souls here are never allowed to rest, forced to work the land for food production. Which is hilarious because food does literally nothing for demons. Ok hilarious in a cruel sick way. The Infernal Princes do like to have their feasts and lavish parties but that food is very different. In essence mortals are forced into a constant state of fatigue. Never able to drink, eat, or most of all sleep.
Gin tends to be selectively lazy but he has a fascination with the modern mortal world and tends to spend a lot of his time acquiring items from there. The poor boy has insomnia so he rarely sleeps since he is so enthralled with his game systems. He is very much a pop culture nerd at times and if you can get on his good side you will find that is probably one of the softer of the Princes. He likes a good time, oh and junk food... lots of junk food. The influence for this kingdom is ancient Egyptian as alluded to earlier since both of the Outer Ring Kingdoms are surrounded by a seemingly never ending stretch of desert.
(That’s it for this week! I hope that gives you all kind of an idea how the Infernal realm works. This is jus the basics and if people are more interested in this I will go into more detail. That is what the ask box is for!)  << PREV  | FIRST |  NEXT >>

The Revised [ Full ] History of Eve in Picture Perfect
( until I decide to tweak and edit it some more )
In this verse, Eve’s mother Linda would reside in Brooklyn for three years after the death of her husband, William Littlejohn, his brother Malcolm, and Malcolm’s wife Yvette. Initially, she stays in Brooklyn simply because she feels she is supposed to. Her in-laws, Amos and Liza, want to observe her. Similarly, Linda’s parents want to ensure she is fine after narrowly facing death. Haunted by the massacre, Linda suffers from survivor’s syndrome, but she is never allowed to vocalize the pain felt. In the midst of secretly attending therapy sessions ( while Eve is taken care of by her Grandma Evelyn and Papa Giuseppe ) Linda finds that her lifestyle is stagnant. She feels as though she is a woman who does whatever someone else wants. Therefore, Linda decides to move to Manhattan with the five-year-old Eve in tow. They live in a luxurious apartment and Linda makes her living as a secretary on Wall Street while Eve attends ballet classes.
Linda didn’t have to be a secretary, as the Littlejohns (and her father) provided her with money, but she liked working. It kept her mind off things. Sometimes things would feel great until people asked her was her husband the late William Littlejohn. In time, Linda gets a boyfriend who is a stockbroker. He’s white, he’s a recent divorcee and because she worked so closely with him, Linda knew it would be unprofessional to date him. But she thought to herself, ‘this is my decision. It’s okay because I have some control.’ The idea of control was a myth, though. She became his arm candy, similar to what happened within the Littlejohn Family when she initially became linked with William.
Linda could not complain too much, though. Because her new lover was good to Eve. The overall excellent dynamic caused them to get married. Their marriage lasts for four years. Eve is eight years old when they divorce. It’s a divorce that’s long. Messy. He was going to jail for a pyramid scheme was a part of and Linda didn’t want to stand by him. After the divorce - and the trial - Linda decides she could use a break. She decides that she and Eve should leave the country for a little while. Because why not? She has the money. The first country they go to is England, staying in London.
It was supposed to be a month-long vacation, but she kept putting off returning home. She didn’t want to house hunt back in New York, she didn’t want to be identified with a scandal, she didn’t want to see any family. So they began living in London. When Eve is nine years old, Linda would decide to go to South Africa. Eve experienced cities such as Durban, Ghana, Cape Town. While Linda was really in Africa to become more connected to her ancestors, all and all, she thought the experience would be good for Eve. Her baby girl could have a lot of memories of different buildings, landscapes, cultures. And, this exposure did make Eve happy, however, she had no stable school life or friendships. So on a social level, Eve was miserable. She also tried having pen pals, but that only worked for so long before both parties ceased writing one another.  Eve did feel at home when she was in New York with her extended family during holidays like Christmas. Eve’s maternal grandparents wanted her to live with them, but her mother refused it. Eve has a vivid memory seated in the back of a taxi, crying because she didn’t want to go to the airport. And as for Linda - well, she would never notice this, but whenever she was deeply distressed, her mental desire was to just keep moving.
When Eve was fifteen years old, her mother fell in love with a highly esteemed professor from the University of Cape Town. This would be her mother’s third significant relationship. They all began living together and he begins an inappropriate relationship with Eve. It’s all an act of grooming that Eve isn’t aware of. Linda catches on to it and calls out her boyfriend for his behavior. However, he is offended by the accusations. He moves out, but he still contacts Eve through phone calls and  even picks her up from school at one point without her mother’s consent. Eve remembers her mother always asking her questions, ‘did he touch you?’ ‘What did he do to you?’ Eve was overwhelmed, as she felt her mother didn’t believe her. It caused Eve to give her the silent treatment, which in turn caused Linda to decide to move again. This time, they would leave Africa to live in Europe - France, specifically.
In France, the two moved twice. First to Paris then to Lyon. Eve liked Lyon more than Paris, but was much too stubborn to admit it. Part of Eve was worried that if she was open about her love, then her mother would want to move somewhere else. She attended college with a focus on art conservation. Ultimately, she did not fully complete her apprenticeship because she would meet Alexandre DuBois, a con artist she fell in love with.
He did not expose his true nature to her at first, but she began questioning the source of the jewelry he was continuously giving her. When she reached the conclusion that he was a criminal of some sort, Alexandre kept insisting that it wasn’t as much of an issue that she was making it out to be. To prove this he wanted Eve to come with him to a job wanting Eve to participate as well. Eve declined, she wasn’t trying to get in any legal trouble. However, Alexandre said he didn’t like boring women. Offended, she agreed.  He slicked down his hair so it could appear straight. Wore his best suit. Meanwhile, he instructed Eve to dress as though she was going to attend the most extravagant party. When they stood side by side, Alexandre was looking like a wealthy white man with a young, black mistress. The trick, Alexandre told her, was to always act as though you belong. For days Eve waited for consequences. For the police to knock at her door. Something. It didn’t happen. She told herself never again, but she got addicted to stealing with Alexandre, as it became an adrenaline rush.
Eventually, Eve and Alexandre were apprehended by law enforcement. Linda bailed Eve out and told her that if she was not going to continue reaching for her career goals then she would send her to America. Eve would fight back, insisting that she was an adult, so she doesn’t have to go to America just because she said so. Linda then has enough and states that since Eve is a young adult, she can live with Alexandre.  The relationship that would progress between Eve and Alexandre was not without its faults. Even when Eve moved in with him, Alexandre was cheating on her discreetly. He had his alternate hookups and one-night stands, with Eve simply being his main girlfriend. When women smugly confronted Eve of how Alexandre was nothing but a womanizer and she was his latest victim, she fought for the sheer integrity of his name. Behind closed doors, when Eve confronted Alexandre about his inability to be monogamous: he blackened her eye.
The relationship comes to an end when Alexandre gains access to an elite party. During their fumbled job, they would be acknowledged by someone who would be very influential in Eve’s future, Gisella Agostini of the Corsican Mafia. The two would leave the scene in shame, fiercely arguing in the car about who messed up. Eve brings up how he’s a liar and manipulator, only for Alexandre  to rip the pearls from her neck and kick her out his car. She had to find her way back to safety in the dark of the night.
While Alexandre and Eve are separated, the Agostini family does research on the two. They see that Alexandre has a long history of theft, and even a previous murder charge, while Eve just seems to be a college student who got caught up in the thrill of crime. First, Alexandre is snatched off the street by Agostini goons. In what he deemed as an act of self-preservation, he sells Eve out, claiming it was her idea.
When Eve is abducted by the crime family, Gisella confronts her directly. The old woman states that she could fix everything and spare her from her ‘husband’s wrath.’ But the truth is, Gisella’s husband doesn’t do anything in the crime family any longer due to his age and illnesses, but Gisella uses him as a ‘front’ to reign.  Eve ends up working for the crime family,  and in little moments, she ever so gradually speculates she is in the midst of a female mob boss. As the months go along, Eve’s mother wants to make amends but Eve doesn’t want her mother to know she is now gang-affiliated. Eve is very afraid for her life. This leads to more mother-daughter tension due to the lack of communication.
As the years pass on, Gisella is progressively attached to Eve. This is reflective of how she has her own passion for the world and the diverse people who live in it (especially those of the African diaspora.) In turn, Eve initially grows to feel like she’s a part of some sort of stable family. Ultimately, their relationship gradually becomes overbearing and toxic. Eve is literally feeling like she’s owned and controlled by an old white woman. Therefore, Eve distances herself from dealing with Gisella personally because it was too much. However, Eve continued working for the crime family in regards to assassinations and heists, but she was not eating at Gisella’s home for dinner or talking over tea. Eve decides to make amends with Gisella by the time she is 31. Little did she know, the woman was on her death bed at this point. They were kind to one another and Gisella lets Eve know she can do whatever she wants now. Later that week, the old woman would die. While Gisella’s death comes as a shock - Eve was also feeling relieved. Afterward, Eve has mild conflict with Gisella’s nephew who feels like she should not be leaving the crime family, but Eve insists Gisella harbored no ill will towards her and wanted her to do whatever she wanted. So, she’s leaving.
Eve relocates to New York to begin a new, stable life. It’s what she wants. It’s what she needs. Or so she thinks. She thought New York would have her feel at home and content as it did when she was a child, but she didn't feel this way at all. She felt like a stranger among her family, like a guest or something.  Eve proceeds to sell the art she makes for a living and gains recognition from it. Admittedly, she’s bored with a quiet life. It is entering a relationship with Salvatore Scozzari that sparks her passion for crime, although he would much rather her marry him and live a quiet but glamorous life. But in the end? Eve can’t do it. Breaking up with Sal by claiming she’ll be working at a gallery in California, she travels to another state. Her life as a thief starting up a second time.

On redemption and blindness
I walk amongst men as the fragments of the future: that future which I contemplate. And it is all my poetisation and aspiration to compose and collect into unity what is fragment and riddle and fearful chance. And how could I endure to be a man, if man were not also the composer, and riddle-reader, and redeemer of chance! To redeem what is past, and to transform every "It was" into "Thus would I have it!"—that only do I call redemption! - Nietzsche: Also sprach Zarathustra
This is probably a unique way to see redemption. I understand the intention of Nietzsche to offer an different way to approach redemption and guilt or to overcome the talions law or other Christian conceptions about mistakes and sins.
I’m glad that age isn’t an important criterion for Isayama. Growing older doesn’t guarantee that characters will reach enlightenment. It doesn’t matter if the warriors were children and Eren is an adult. Someone can argue that it’s not logical but I find it quite interesting that adulthood doesn’t imply necessarily wisdom. Characters can live their whole lives in the wrong and redemption can happen even before death after a long life like with Kenny or Karina with a proper impulse of their environments.
So, for now: Eren is standing in the wrong fundamentally driven by his spirit of revenge and he doesn’t understands.
Tumblr media
Kenny is a good example of what it feels like not understanding the source of every beauty. His struggles involve trying to understand why he admired Uri and why Uri was different. He wanted to see the same things. This struggle culminated when he discovered that this power wasn’t the reason behind Uri’s compassion. In reality, Uri was dealing with the power he was entrusted with. Every founder were partly enslaved to this power and the preech about peace and love was nothing but a farce. The true miracle was actually Uri’s personality and this gesture. The guilt of not being able to create a paradise.
Tumblr media
Eren’s case is then similar to Kenny’s. Surrounded by a violent world with no freedom and having a violent nature sleeping inside his mind, he understood things through his own worldview and was blind to the true reasons behind Armin’s sight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eren’s natural response to the dream he couldn’t see was projected with rage onto an external obstacle. He never thought that maybe... he was the one being unable to see went past his mental walls or the way his environment influenced his mindset. To him, it wasn’t about accepting the freedom he had to dream but about searching for any obstacle to blame for his impossibility to reach his dream. He felt his state as a lack of freedom:
“This, that I want to do, I can’t reach it because something is restraining me”.
Tumblr media
But the final goal was something abstract. It wasn’t something he could wrasp on an ontological level, thus, he kept searching for support in Armin, who was the one with bright eyes and able to recognize it. So he asked him...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To this point, Eren has to overcome this mindset... his spirit of revenge* in nietzschean terms and the very reason why he CAN’T be considered an übermensch. Nobody prevented him from this dangerous development regading this wrong vision of freedom that brought us to this mistake that has to be redeemed.
According Kenny’s confession in the end... everything he did, he did it searching for redemption for his own life. His goal was to understand Uri’s view: the very moment when he saw for the first time a victory through kindness and modesty. Although he tried from the wrong perspective, he was trying to overcome his own weakness.
Redemption for Nietzsche meant a continuated cycle of self-overcoming/creation and the aceptation, love and reafirmation of our stories and fate as everything we have done and chosen during our lives. Guilt is detrimental and opressive. Past can’t be changed (there’s no undoing it), so there is no point on being enslaved to guilt. “The will can’t will backwards” but we can keep willing in the future. Redemption is not about being slave to the guilt but a learning process of overcoming our weakness.
Tumblr media
If being wrong about a dream or a goal lead us to do wrong, when we choose paths that are detrimental for others and ourselves as Nietzsche said, redemption lies in the understanding of our weakness and overcoming them. It means to live with pride about our past and having confidence in ourselves to do things right in the future. It’s about dignifying our mistakes that in the end, are also part of the stories we wanted to create. Without this, we wouldn’t be who we are.
Tumblr media
In his last moments, Kenny could bring understanding and relief to Levi. Despite his self-concept as someone unable to take care of Levi, he couldn’t leave him to die.
In the end, he took another path and entrusted Levi with an important gift for humanity. Kenny left the world giving up the dream that was wrong, understanding the truth behind his struggle and redeeming his story as he decided out of his own will.
I expect something similar for Eren in the future when he overcomes his spirit of revenge and his blindness.
“What, if some day or night a demon were to steal after you into your loneliest loneliness and say to you: 'This life as you now live it and have lived it, you will have to live once more and innumerable times more' ... Would you not throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse the demon who spoke thus? Or have you once experienced a tremendous moment when you would have answered him: 'You are a god and never have I heard anything more divine.” Nietzsche
---------------------------------
* spirit of revenge, easy explained, is born from the ressentiment we have when we can’t accept how things are, our weakness or when we can’t deal with the wrath caused by our past. Ressentiment means here the reaction humans have towards disadvantages by nature, laws or the system against others that enjoy privileges. (See in Eren, Gabi, Karina... etc.) It’s a revolution against fate, past and time.
“For  that  humanity  be  delivered  from  revenge,  that  for  me  is  the  bridge  to  the  highest  hope,  and  a  rainbow  after  long  storms”
“And so he moves stones out of wrath and displeasure, and he wreaks revenge on whatever does not feel wrath and displeasure as he does. Thus the will, the liberator, took to hurting; and on all who can suffer he wreaks revenge for his inability to go backwards. This, indeed this alone, is what revenge is: the will’s ill will against time, and its “it was.”  Nietzsche

Blood for Blood: An Owl House Story Chapter 1 Part 6
Hello all, this part 6, and the last part of chapter 1! Everybody clap your hands!!
As Luz walked down the halls of the Conformatorium, she spotted King and Eda fiercely waving to her up ahead. As she made her way over, she spotted King desperately clawing at the, admittedly impressive, door.
“Hey, kid. ‘Bout time you got here! Come on, the Warden’s currently distracted tormenting some poor helpless creature.” The reminder of what Tiny was going through, and Eda’s seeming indifference to her suffering, almost made Luz snap at the witch. Almost, that is, if it weren’t for the slight shift in her eyes as she said it.
Luz calmed down; Eda was every bit as bothered by what the Warden was doing as she was, but they had a mission, and she had to focus. Eda wasn’t being callous, she was focusing on what she could actually effect.
Forcing herself to smirk, she gently pried King away from the doors. “You don’t need to do that little conqueror. You got a human with you this time, remember?”
“Yeah, but the feel of my crown, so close yet so far from my grasp is driving me crazy!” King stomped his foot in outrage. Luz wisely held back the part of her that wanted to say ‘don’t you mean crazy-er?’
The sight of Eda fondly shaking her head at the little demon’s antics helped ease some of Luz’s mood. As they opened the doors, Luz barely had time to blink before King hurled himself forward, eager for his treasure... only to be stopped and shocked by the barrier of energy barring his path.
“Uh, King? Human first, remember?” With a bemused stare, Luz moved past the dazed demon and easily crossed the threshold, which all but immediately started collapsing behind her. Huh, guess they half to re-cast whatever spell made that barrier every time it’s breached. Good to know for future reference.
The sheer bevy of junk, treasures, and confiscated goods that surrounded Luz made her feel like she had stumbled upon a hoarder’s private stash, even more so than Eda’s house did. As she walked towards the center, Luz caught sight of the pedestal in the middle, and the crown resting on top. As Luz got a closer look at it, she noticed how familiar the crown was-
“You’ve got. To be kidding me.” Deadpanning, she took the crown in hand, and gently plopped it on King’s head.
It was a crown all right. A BURGER QUEEN Crown, the kind they gave out in kids’ meals back home.
“YES! I CAN FEEL MY DARK POWERS RETURNING!! You there! Creature of darkness!” As King exulted over his “reclaimed power,” he dramatically posed at a nearby stuffed rabbit. “You shall be a general in my army, and I shall call you Francois!”
As King played, Luz turned a flat stare onto Eda. “That crown doesn’t give him any kind of power outside of his own head, does it?” The wry smirk she got in return told her all she needed to know.
“Ha! Of course not. It’s just some dumb little thing I found while looking through my scrap that he took a liking too.” Suddenly, Eda hunched over, suddenly looking older, more tired. “Ah, who am I kidding. Look kid, Luz, me and King? All we have in this world is each other. So if that stupid crown is important to him,” She turned a soft, warm smile onto the joyous demon. “Than it’s important to me- Are you crying!?”
Luz was indeed crying. What could she say, that was beautiful!! Still, she managed to stifle her tears long enough to voice what was on her mind.
“*Sniffle* As touching as this is,” And it really, really was, “I spotted the Warden earlier on my way here, and I think this whole thing might be a trap.” As comprehension, and tired resignation, dawned on her face, Eda summed up the situation perfectly.
“Aw crap.”
“Indeed.” As the ominous voice of the Warden sounded out, Luz couldn’t even let out a shout of warning as the Axe-Hand-Arm-Thing that was his right arm currently effortlessly cleaved through Eda’s neck.
Luz did not panic easy. And this certainly wasn’t the first severed head she had handled. But she had to admit, she was much closer than usual to her breaking point.
She did not expect Eda’s head to yell in pain. “OW! Darn it, I always hate it when that happens.” Seeing at how nonchalant Eda seemed to be at being a severed head, Luz decided to ask what was bugging her before she lost her nerve.
“I gotta know, is this a ‘Witch Thing’ or a ‘You Thing?’“
“Honestly? I think this might be a me thing, but I do think other Witches might be capable of it under the correct circumstances.”
Before Luz could process that little tidbit, one of the nearby guards rushed her, pinning her arms behind her back (badly, she noted). She watched on as Wrath picked up Eda’s head.
“I finally captured you, Eda the Owl Lady. I knew that if I took your pet’s toy,” With that said, he reached over to King, who had stopped celebrating at the trouble around him, and crushed the crown, eliciting a cry of despair from the small demon.
“That you would come running.” Luz was really starting to not like the sound of this, and neither was Eda, going off her face. “And now, I want you... to go out with me.”
What? The cheers of support from the guards confirmed that, yep, Luz had heard that right. And she hated what she was hearing. As Wrath monologued, talking about how attracted he was to Eda’s ability, and how she wasn’t really in a position to say no, Luz’s disgust peaked.
“I hate everything your saying.” That, apparently, wasn’t the smartest thing to say, as Wrath lashed at her in rage. Apparently, his arms were shape-shifting tentacles. If he weren’t suck a colossal prick, that would probably be pretty cool!
Now pinned in place on the ground, you would think Luz would be in trouble, but if anything, Wrath’s temper tantrum gave her the opening to slip herself one of her knives. And as Eda starting toying with Wrath, and Luz really tried not to laugh at the raspberry she gave and Wrath’s reaction to it, she knew her opening would be coming right... about... now!
As Eda’s body, which had been secretly inching closer to Wrath with her staff, whacked the angry demon over the head, Luz spun herself, breaking the grip the guard holding her down had, lashing out with her knife for his tendons; she would’ve aimed at the torso, bigger target and all, but she didn’t know how different Witch Anatomy was from a human’s to ensure she didn’t hit something fatal.
As the other guards rushed her, apparently preferring to take on the human child than face off against the grown witch currently going toe-to-toe with their boss, Luz swept their legs out beneath them, aiming deep cuts in their shoulders to hamper their movements further.
Just as she was about to move, Eda suddenly collided with Luz, as the two of them and King were suddenly hurled through the new hole in the wall. Wow, Wrath and Eda must’ve been causing some serious mayhem.
“Alright, listen Luz.” Her attention pulled to Eda, Luz barely held in a wince, Eda was pretty banged up. “I need you to take Owlbert here,” she indicated her staff, and pulled out the key she used with the portal, “and get yourself home. You held up your end of the deal, now it’s my turn to hold up mine.”
As Luz was suddenly scooched onto Owlbert, the staff had a name huh, her brain managed to process what was happening. They were sending her back, and taking on that maniac Wrath who, wow, could apparently breath fire. “But what about you guys?”
For some reason that felt strange, King spoke up first. “HA! This is nothing, you should’ve seen her last boyfriend.” The retort he got from Eda, and the clear laughter on his face, helped ease some of Luz’s concern.
“Ugh, you little menace.” Deciding to turn away from King, Eda turned to Luz, hoping to convince her before Wrath spotted them. “Don’t worry about us. We’ve been through some pretty tough scraps before, and we’ve always come out fine in the end. I’m not gonna have a kid’s life on my hands because I got reckless. Besides, us weirdos gotta stick together.”
Putting on a brave face, hoping Luz didn’t see the worry she felt about how this whole mess was going. Before Luz could protest, Eda slapped the butt of her staff, sending Owlbert, and Luz with him, flying. “Alright King, let’s do this.”
“This is gonna suck, isn’t it?”
Letting out a bitter chuckle, Eda replied in kind. “Oh yeah.”
As Luz soared overhead, her heart ached. Luz was no stranger to ducking out on trouble, but this time, she wanted to help, and not being able to... it hurt. Pulling the portal key up to her eye, she murmured, “Weirdos stick together huh?”
Getting an idea Luz leaned down to the staff, to Owlbert, and started talking. “Hey, staff? I know you are probably only supposed to listen to Eda, and she said to get me out of here, but do you think we could go back? I... I really think Eda is in trouble, and I can’t just run away from it. She and King, they need all the help they can get, and I wanna be one of the ones who help them.” The eyes of the staff flashed, and suddenly, the staff stalled in the air, and turned around. Luz cheered.
As the staff raced back into the Conformatorium, Luz was mildly surprised to find herself outside the very same cages that housed the first prisoners she met here. In fact, despite the cages being trashed, they were still there. “Why aren’t you guys, you know, leaving?” She was honestly curious.
The fanfic writer from before turned to her, a tired, sad, frown on her face. “What’s the point? The Warden will just catch us again.”
The eyeball-eater spoke up next. “We belong here.”
“Self-doubt is a pwison that none can escape fwom.” Tiny Nose through in her voice.
Luz couldn’t believe this. How couldn’t they see it? How could they not understand? Welp, she supposed she would have to MAKE them understand. “Now that’s a load if I ever heard one.”
The prisoners snapped their gazes to her.
“Who care’s if your different.” She pulled herself to her feet, still atop the staff. “Your differences might make you strange, but they also make you INCREDIBLE!! I was raised to believe that nobody should be punished for being true to themselves, and that includes you guys!”
The writer spoke up. “Why? Why are you helping us?”
Luz turned a sad smile her way. “Because I know how much it hurts to be treated like being yourself is a crime, or some type of disease. You are all unique, and you shouldn’t let the words of a bitter old creep,” Tiny Nose perked up at her words from before being repeated, “Convince you that their is anything wrong with that! So society says you have to change? Nuts to that! You be the one’s to make society change instead!”
Now all the prisoners were looking her way, the hopeless fear gone, and replaced with burning hope. “Now... WHO’S WITH ME!?!?” With a roar, all the prisoners cheered in unison.
Eda dropped to one leg, King collapsed to the ground beside her. This was not going well. She was nearly out of magic, she was beaten silly, the only real upside to this was that the kid had gotten away.
“And now, Owl Lady, since you rejected my heart, your life is mi-” as she braced herself for the blade, she was a little bit confused when Wrath cut off with a choke. Lifting her gaze, she was dumbfounded to see Wrath being pinned in place by what could only be prisoners from inside.
“Uh, Eda, are you seeing what I’m seeing, or are we finally dead?” Morbid question aside, Eda was wondering the same thing as King. As the prisoners wrestled Wrath to the ground, a series of blasts went off, the guards from before running around with holes poking through their uniforms and fire coating them.
“HIT THE DECK!!” At the shout, all the prisoners, Eda and King too, jumped clear, a rocket of sorts rushed through the air, crashing into Wrath with a boom.
Eda marveled at the damage the thing did to the brute of a demon, small puncture wounds dotting his chest and torso and burn marks all over, he probably would’ve died if he wasn’t so tough. At the sight of the downed Warden, the guards panicked, dropping any attempt to round up the prisoners to prioritize tending to their leader’s wounds, while the escaping prisoners all cheered.
Turning around, Eda and King both stopped and just stared at the sight before them. Luz, standing on Owlbert, as carefree as can be, idly flicking a knife open and closed, holding a strange bottle stuffed with a burning rag in her off hand, which she promptly tossed at the wall behind her, another hole blasting open in response.
“So. You guys just gonna stand there, or are we gonna get out of here?” Shaking off their disbelief, both Eda and King smirked, rushing over to the staff, and the newly formed trio took off, back for the Owl House.
As Owlbert landed outside the Owl House, Eda marveled at the strange human girl. She was smart, good with a weapon, could apparently make improvised explosives, and was a good fighter. Sure, she was a little scary, but she just had this sweetness about her.
“Well kid, this has been fun, but I think this is where you head home.” And just when the kid was starting to grow on her too.
“Hold up.” Wait, what? “Who said anything about me leaving.”
“Uh, kid, you do know you are in the Demon Realm, right? This place ain’t exactly safe for your kind.” She wasn’t kidding earlier when she said she didn’t want a kid’s blood on her hands.
“Yeah, but the thing is, I really don’t like people telling me what I can and can’t do. Plus, I kind of need a place to crash for the summer, you know?” Wait a minute...
“You aren’t thinking of staying here, are you!?” She already had enough trouble with the roommates she already had, and she didn’t think she could take another, even one as interesting as Luz was turning out to be.
“Well, yeah. Why not? I can help cook, clean, bring in cash,” Cash? Oh, probably what the humans call their snails. “I could even teach you some of the skills I got under my belt.” Okay, now Eda was tempted. For all that she was young, this kid did seem to know an awful lot of very useful skills that she wouldn’t mind getting her hands on.
“And in exchange, you can teach me magic!” Okay, better head that one off before it gets out of hand.
“Hate to burst your bubble kid, but humans can’t do magic.”
Luz, though, wasn’t having it. “Has any human ever actually had the chance to try?” That, honestly, stumped Eda, as she genuinely didn’t know. It was just one of the things that was treated as common sense. But... she always did enjoy turning things on their heads.
A tug at her dress got her to glance down at King. “Let her stay. She can make snacks!” Eda blinked. She snorted. Than she just straight up laughed. Looking at Luz’s out-stretched hand, she grasped it in her own and shook it.
Grinning broadly, Eda sealed the deal. “Alright kid, you win. As long as you help pull your weight, you a got a place for the summer (whatever summer actually is), and I’ll do my best to try and teach you magic.” And with that said, she decided to turn up the showmanship.
“And I might’ve said this once already, but...” As she gestured expansively, lights burst into place once more, illuminating her home in all its splendor. “ Welcome. TO THE OWL HOUSE!”
Luz grinned, excitement burning through her. So maybe her Mami might be a little (extremely) mad if she ever found out. But right now? She was gonna live the dream she has had ever since she read her first fairy tale. She was gonna be a witch.
After all, nobody told Luz Noceda, Mafia Heiress, what she could and couldn’t be, not in the Human World, and not in this one either.
And we are done! Let me know what you all think. The ending stretch wasn’t as strong as I felt it could’ve been, but I think I did a good job.

Family.
With: Eggsy x Reader.
Note: It happens around the second movie.
Word Count: 2,400.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the whole incident with Poppy and her drugs, Harry was more than happy to go back home. Of course, his old house now was nothing but ashes but he and Eggsy could share a new house while Eggsy searched for a new place.
Harry, however, was nervous, a secret that only Merlin, God has his soul, knew. Harry had a daughter. Relationships and attachments were forbidden by the Kingsman, but no even Harry with all his loyalty could ignore when he first fell in love.
The woman was his sweetheart in high school, but when he left for the army he broke up with her.
Years passed and one day he was at a pub having a few drinks on his own trying to decide if he should or shouldn’t accept the Kingsman invitation. What he didn’t realize at first was the lady checking him out the whole night, when he did he saw the sweet girl he loved dearly in his early years, of course, her body was more accentuated and she wasn’t his sweet girl anymore, but a woman.
Harry didn’t lose time to talk to her, and she didn’t hold any resentment from him. The night ends up better than he thought it would.
He accepted the Kingsman’s offer but to his dismay, he couldn’t keep a relationship on his new field, differently than the army. So for the second time, Harry ended with her.
What he didn’t know, was that she was pregnant with his daughter.
You.
Over the years you never knew your father, while an innocent child you always asked your mother and she told you stories that he was a superhero saving the world, in the early moments you accepted and felt joy hearing that.
But when your mother was the only one you had and the kids made fun saying bad things about her, you started to pick up fights.
Your mother didn’t approve of course, but how could you accept those stupid kids saying bad things about your mother? You could not.
More years passed and your mother grew sick, cancer was what took her away from you. Your only family.
You finished school but the public school system didn’t work so good as people like to say, you had rent to pay and so many hospital bills that you couldn’t lose time studying for exams, you had to work. And the pub where your mother used to work was where accepted you.
Johnny, the owner, liked your mother dearly and even when you were younger he loved having you around, in the earlier hours of course, not when the place was filled with drunk people.
And on your eldest 17’s you started to work half shift and when you finally made 18 you worked twice as hard.
Men were shitty but gladly Johnny never saw you with a second intention and whenever some customer said something about you he was quick to dismiss them. It wasn’t like Johnny was your father, you would never see him as your father figure, but he was something close to an uncle… Maybe even a godfather.
Life wasn’t easy, and being lonely sucked.
One day you got home and to your surprise, your door was unlocked. Your heart had reached skyrocket at the moment, your house wasn’t in the calmer neighborhood after all.
Opening your purse and grabbing your switchblade you stepped inside the place. Nothing was out of the place, but you spotted a man sitting on your couch. Your childhood photo album on his hands.
“You need to change your lock. It was too easy to break in.” The man spoke without glancing at you.
“Yeah, now I’ll have to buy a new one.”
Darting his eyes at you he chuckled at the switchblade on your hand. “You should have another weapon, that one wouldn’t help if I was some robber.”
“It works perfectly for me. Who the hell are you and what are you doing at my house?”
“My name is Harry Hart, and… I’m your father.”
The words didn’t have the effect you thought it would. Along the years you wondered about that single moment, when your superhero father would appear, or perhaps the pirate of the fairy tales your mother used to tell you with a hint of sadness on her eyes.
But now? As an adult? Oh no, he wouldn’t enter your life so easily. “‘I’m your father’ that is it? After years and years you come here, break my lock and tell me that? What do you want?”
“Y/N I don’t want nothing, I’m-”
“You’re out of here. Get out of my house now before I call the police.”
“Can you listen?”
“No! Get out of here now!” Your voice grew louder and it surely made him uncomfortable, but he could not blame you for this.
Harry got on his feet and placed the album above the center table, he also took a card out of his pocket and let above the book. “If you need anything, please, do not hesitate to call.”
You look at him cautiously when he reached the door you grabbed the card and handed to him. “I don’t need you nor your help, I have been good on my own.”
Harry didn’t seem fazed by your attitude he only nodded and left closing the door behind.
You let a sob and broke in tears. You were so so tired! Working non stop to pay bills you didn’t even seem coming, it wasn’t like you lived in a luxurious place or that you had expensive clothes or shoes, you barely had food! And now the man who abandoned your mother came back offering for help? Oh no no no! You had too much self-love to accept his money.
Days passed after the incident and you were glad Harry didn’t appear again. It was the beginning of the month so Johnny paid you your salary and you didn’t even smile since all the money would be directed to the credit cards which you had used to pay the hospital for your deceased mother.
Reaching the bank you clicked in the directions and placed the money inside an envelope ready to pay another of the expensive parcels. However, when it opened it didn’t appear any money required, it was all paid. How?
Was it Harry? Oh no! He wouldn’t! … would he?
Calling the bank number you spoke with the clerk who explained that a man on his late 50’s appeared and paid the entire bill.
It was Harry then.
His card was still at your house, inside the trash can in the kitchen. Dealing the number he was quick to answer. “Y/N.”
“Listen I don’t know if you are trying to compensate the years of absence but I don’t need or want you. I don’t know how you knew about my bills but I don’t want your money. Please take it back.”
“I’m sorry, I cannot blame you for feeling in that way, but I think with your age you shouldn’t work like that to pay so many bills. You should be in college now, should be building your future.”
“My future? I have never seen you before and you never cared! Now you suddenly are worried?! Listen I want you to get your money back and leave me alone.”
“Well then.” Was his answer before declining.
For days you pondered about it all, did he knew of your existence before his arrival? Has he known about your mother’s sickness?
When you were losing sleep over this you texted him an address to have a coffee, you needed a few answers!
In the end, Harry knew about you since you were 5, your mother had a lot of pride -as you- and didn’t accept his money. And when he discovered she was sick he stood a few days in the hospital, in the early hours when you would be in school.
It was a slow process, but happily, you and Harry got closer than you thought it would. You were smart and knew all your wrath was some sort of shield trying to get hurt. You wouldn’t see him as a father figure, but he was a friend.
He explained what his job was and how sorry he was, which you didn’t believe at first was that he looked for you the moment he found out you had born. Apparently, your mother didn’t want his money nor his help, it was harsh to accept but you couldn’t blame her, she did the best she could and raised you with all she could give.
Harry showed you his house and Mr. Pickle! You loved dogs and even if a little macabre, it was good to see he was a good man. He said he was looking for some new agent whom would grab his spot. A retirement would do good for him.
After making sure he wouldn’t disappear and leave you alone you allowed him in, apparently, he has lots of money, and even if you didn’t care for it he made sure helping you it wouldn’t hurt.
You left your previous job, but promised Johnny you would visit! You left your old small apartment and stood with Harry for a few days while you searched for a place, nothing expensive of course. You didn’t want to leave your old place for starters, not if it wasn’t with your own money,
Meanwhile, Harry saw how good you were with technology, even if he wanted you to go to college and have a second chance in life, he wondered of how of a great addition you would do in the secret service.
Harry took you to meet Merlin like some sort of internship, and for Harry’s joy, Merlin loved how intelligent you were.
You got a job as his assistant, all the job’s benefits included.
Harry asked Merlin to keep you as a secret, no one, especially Arthur, could know you were his daughter. You didn’t get sad about that, you understood.
So many things happened and when Harry died you felt betrayed, he promised he wouldn’t abandon you, yet he did. And you not only lost your mother, the only family you knew once, but also your… father.
But now, he was back. Harry was anxious because you probably had grief for him, and now he would come back. It was even hard for him to understand the whole situation Ginger had made, but he was happy.
Eggsy didn’t understand why Harry was so concerned to go back home. “Are you that nervous to share your house with me?” Eggsy asked while both flew back to London, ready to re-build the Kingsman facility.
“What? Don’t be ridiculous.” Harry did love Eggsy as his own son after all.
“Then what is the problem?”
“Eggsy, I- I…”
“You what?”
Letting a sigh Harry tried to find the courage. “I have a daughter. Around your age, her name is Y/N.”
“What? Why you never told me this before?” Eggsy asked and tried to read Harry’s worries. “Wait, she doesn’t know you’re an agent?”
“She does, she works for the Kingsman as well, to be honest, the intelligence part.”
Eggsy eyes widened at that, he never thought of it before. But his eyes widened, even more, remembering how Poppy exploded the whole Kingsman. “Harry, is she alright?!”
“Yes, she is. I asked Merlin and thankfully she was out with a few friends on that fearful day.”
“Thank God! So, why are you so worried?”
“I’m the only family she has left, and I bet the moment she saw me 'dying’ in Valentine’s hands she felt all the sorrow again. Now I will appear to her like a ghost.”
“I bet she will be happy.”
                 …
And as Egssy said, you did.
Of course, it was unexpected seeing him there, alive. For a few seconds, you stood frozen in the spot, you recognized Eggsy of the files you’ve seen and the times Harry mentioned the boy. But seeing Harry, your father, alive was amazing!
Hugging him with all of your strength Harry felt relieved by your reaction.
It would be a long process to rebuild Kingsman and everything that it leads, but Harry was happy to have you and Eggsy by his side.
Three Years Later.
Eggsy was a flirt. And how could you ignore that sweet boy? Five months after Harry coming back to your life you and Eggsy started to date.
Harry made the whole ’father speech’ to him but you knew he approved the relationship between you two.
Kingsman would never be the same without Merlin and Harry’s/Eggsy’s fellow’s agents, but it was working.
Gladly with the Kingsman’s Kentucky division, things were working even better.
You shared your house with your beloved boyfriend, he just finished a mission in Japan and was about to arrive home.
“Baby, I’m home!” Hearing his voice you ran downstairs to hug him.
“Finally!” You attacked him with kisses and were received with the same passion. “I knew you were safe but nothing feels better than having you here.”
He took a time to hold your face in his hands, nothing as better than be at home. “I know I know, but what would I do if my best girl wasn’t in my ear-com all the time to give me instructions inside that Japanese mob?”
Grinning at him you faked pondering. “Hmmm, probably dead.”
“Yeah.” He engulfed you in a tight embrace ad you stood there for what seemed like hours.
Eggsy was amazing, and having him under your hands meant the world. His job was important, but the nervous state you got was insane. “I called Harry in the way and we will have dinner in that expensive restaurant.”
“Babe, I’m happy you and my father have such a great bond but I missed you.”
He knew very well what you meant. “Y/N, I have been gone for nine days, and we spoke basically the whole time.”
“Blame me for missing my boyfriend.” You replied and he smiled at your eagerness.
“I missed you too. Buuut if we cancel now he’ll know what we will be doing and I do not need him to give me a speech.”
Harry would surely give him a speech. “You are right, my love.”
After getting ready and controlling in the maximum to not jump in each other’s bodies you and Eggsy arrived in the restaurant.
Harry was already there and it was good to feel so much love.
Your life has changed and you were glad it did. You had your father and your boyfriend with you, the work wasn’t the most ’mortal’ one but you helped to save the world and that was really gratifying.
And for Harry, he not only took care of his friend’s son like was his own, but also found his daughter, his family. Something he never knew he needed but was glad it happened.

*- 2048 and 2626 have managed to flirt with 3803 twice and lived to tell the tale* I admit. I would like to see that. XD I’m getting the impression 1146’s wrath is not to be taken lightly when it comes to 3803. Which is extra funny because it’s canon 1146 is a very hot blooded and overly emotional guy. But think he tones it down in interactions w/other cells thanks to the environment he grew up in (no need to teach a lot about social interaction with others) and wanting to come off as non threatening/professional when off duty.
RBC 1146 on the other hand would not have that issue/reasons to put a lid on it. He sees anyone, friend or not, flirting with the cell of his (non existent) dreams. They get a bop on the head and a angry reprimand to back off. RBC 1146 is a lot more forward with his feelings. He can still be shy, but even his shyness is bolder/more expressive as doesn’t feel the need to hide it (maybe the Macrophage encouraged this because she thought it was cute and saw he was so extra in everything she was afraid he’d pop if he didn’t let it out).
Lol, just imagine 1146 is humming a karaoke tune as he’s walking back to his friends with all the glucose cones to share with them. Then he sees 2626 and 2048 flirting with 3803. Not only that when 2626 gets bold enough to kiss her on the forehead. It gets worse when she gives him a kind peck on the cheek and happily gives one to 2048 when he requests one too. She’s happy to give out affection to her friends (I could see her being the type to give platonic kisses on the cheek to some of her closer friends if they were comfortable with it).
The two guys seem pretty happy that a cute WBC is too oblivious to notice she’s flirting with them. Not to mention she’ll give affection right back easily (WBC 3803 might be a little affection starved. Growing up Only 5100 gave her a lot of affection like that. But ever since they graduated they haven’t been able to have as much time for it since they have different regular patrol partners. 4201 isn’t that affectionate…. But 3803 is determined to wear her down to at least one hug a week).
But then… Something happens. They feel a shiver in their cytoplasm. They can hear the radiation of irritation. They look up to see 1146 standing not too far away. His eyes sharper then 3803’s sword and his mouth twisted into a scowl. He suddenly stuffs all the glucose in his mouth and starts wolfing it down (almost choking). He says something they can’t fully understand but before they know it, they’re both running like the entire immune system is after them as 1146 is chasing after them and yelling at them to stop running.
3803 just stands there very confused as all 3 RBCs are weaving and jumping and running all over the place. 2048 even tries to hide behind a platelet. But then the platelet starts cheering for 1146 to get big bro 2048 (the platelet is backwards cap kun. He’s 1146’s favorite platelet and the platelet, along with Leader Chan who is 3803’s favorite platelet, ships 1146/3803) and 2048 is barely able to escape 1146 from grabbing him by his jacket.
It all eventually ends when all 3 get stuck in a blood clot and after 3 days it’s enough to calm 1146 down and forgive (but not forget) his best friends.
They do it again in the future and there’s no blood clot to save them. But they still somehow survive. XP
During a period where the host drinks a little alcohol here and there (fancy parties, Idk). 3803 ends up being kissed on the mouth by a drunk 2001, 4989 and 1146. It happened with the first two on the same cycle. She finds them wandering around and takes them to the liver since some WBCs were asked to help any RBCs get there (body’s first time getting a little drunk). While there 2001 looks like he’s not even drunk at all. But then he sweeps 3803 into a bridal carry and kisses her on the lips in thanks and tells her she’s a great. Then he hugs 4989 and tells him he’s a great buddy. Then a Hepatocyte has to calm him down when he starts telling his chair how grateful he is that it exists for him to sit in it. He’s the monotone overly affectionate type. But he comes off as so suave even 3803 was blushing afterwards because he looked like one of those prince charming’s a platelet told her about once (Leader Chan was trying to say 1146 was one if those for 3803). 4989 is just toddling along after 2001 and is so excited about everything. He sees 2001 do something, he goes extra. He says thanks to the furniture… as he starts dissembling it to make something no one is sure of (a Hepatocyte starts getting into a tug of war with him over the pieces in an effort to protect their merchandise). After he sees 2001 kiss 3803, he also grabs her cheeks and gives a big grin before impulsively planting a big one on her. This time 3803 is more non pulsed.  The Hepatocytes tell her RBCs act weird so just go with it (they really just want to save their chair too).
When they both get detoxed all 3 agree (after some sheepish apologies from the RBCs) it wasn’t a big deal and get over it. 3803 doesn’t really care. She’s just happy they’re better.
I can’t decide if 1146 finds out or not. If he does, he just goes into shock and 2001 and 4989 give him a lot of glucose and green tea until he snaps out of it and pretends he never heard about it.
It happened with a drunk 1146 when he got very clingy with her and she started doting on him. He’s either very closed off when drunk but with 3803 he becomes a octopus. Wanting her attention on only him and whining like a pouting child when she talks to someone else. When some one comments he’s her boyfriend, she starts choking on her orange juice (she had a realization a bit ago she likes him and he definitely likes her). 1146 panics and thinks she’s dying so he gives her kiss of life in an attempt to revive her. In reality he’s not doing cpr and she only coughed two times. But his overprotectiveness has been heightened while his other more helpful abilities have been lowered. It ends up being a… Very non romantic kiss. Its sloppy and he accidently bites her lower lip. He starts telling her not to die and he loooves her sooo much. When the liver cells try to detox him more (this RBC clearly is…,special >_>;). He tends off their attempts and wants them to help her instead. She ends up giving him a quick peck to the corner of his mouth and telling him he saved her and she won’t due thanks to his efforts.
Afterwards 1146 runs away from her for 3 weeks in complete embarrassment and self punishment for acting like such a fool. 3803 later tracks him down and says she still thought he was really cool (and funny) for wanting to save her so much when he thought she was dying from Orange juice. Then she gets really shy and bashful when he asks why she started choking on Orange juice anyway. It ends up him enjoying how cute she is while she gushes in her head how sweet he is. >_<
~~~
Heheheh, but consider this:
What if, you know, maybe, 2001 set up 2048 and 2626 to flirt with 3803 in the fist place. Like maybe, all of them are in a playful mood and they happen to see 3803. 2001 immediately gets this idea to get 1146 to become more transparent with his feelings when it comes to 3803 because wow… He really needs to work with his people skills, especially with those he’s crushing on. So, like any good friend would do, manages to make a bet with 2626 and 2048 that they won’t flirt with 3803.
2626 and 2048 immediately feel like their pride and honor is wounded, so they decide to have fun with 3803. Of course, 3803 doesn’t really mind their advances because she can tell that they’re mostly joking and she goes along with it by returning their flirtations with oblivious remarks. (Who knows, maybe she can see through their advances and wants to play up the oblivious act a bit, or maybe she is just that dense).
That’s when 1146 catches this happening and starts fuming at how brazen 2626 and 2048 are.
Meanwhile, 2001 tips off Dendritic Cell (who happened to be passing by, hahah) so that he can get some cytokines of 1146 acting the fool while 3803 watches with a fond expression on her face.
As for the drunk escapades, 3803 likes taking all the boys to the liver because they all become stupidly affection and like you said, she’s touch starved. All of them are so warm and so tall, she immediately safe with them (even though she’s the one who’s supposed to protect them XD) and makes sure that each of them get a hug and maybe a forehead kiss to keep them soothed.
For some odd reason (not really, we know his true feelings), 1146 gets really shy and somewhat evasive until the liquor really hits his system and he just smothers himself all over her.
Even if all the boys happen to make a doggy pile on the floor with her somehow underneath them, she can still carry them like it’s nothing. (HC that no matter the universe, 3803 can and will benchpress things that are like 10x her weight).
But thanks for such a wonderful image of all of these things happening! I love it!
Great job and I hope that you have a wonderful day! :D
A look at the old FMA Fangame Bluebird’s illusion
Hey there. One of the more interesting things to come out of the FMA fandom is this fanmade visual novel called Bluebird’s illusion. It was made in October 2004. I’ve recently tried it out so why don’t I share?
It’s based on the FMA manga but was clearly heavily influenced by the anime as well with it’s cute artstyle and much of the music. The manga was of course far from finished at this point and perhaps what drew plenty of attention to this little fanproject was its speculations. (And the impressive art.)
Tumblr media
So, the story takes place in a seemingly happy future where Ed has restored his brother’s body and now lives with Al in a lovely house in Central. He still works for the military and has just started a new job as the Fuhrer’s secretary. Mustang is also around, of course.
However all is not well... (Long post by the way).
(I’m going to be spoiling this games plot pretty liberally just for the warning.)
It is called Bluebird’s illusion because the brother’s seeming happiness is just an illusion that cannot last. It is revealed that in order to restore Al’s body, Edward made some sort of deal with the Homunculi. However, his current body isn’t good enough to hold his soul and it’s starting to disappear. Plus the homunculi are still watching in the background.
Tumblr media
The game at first is pretty lighthearted with lots of jokes about Ed’s height, about Roy’s avoidance of paperwork, Breda’s fear of dogs etc. and the beginning is honestly pretty boring to play, in my opinion. Yet, it gets darker and in fact this game has no happy endings.
There are three main endings to this game plus one joke ending.
The most infamous ending is definitely the Pride!Ed ending.
Ed gets taken into the basement beneath Central HQ where the Homunculi’s Father awaits to use Ed to fulfill his vision of creating a new, perfect world. This happens in every ending actually.
Tumblr media
The Homunculi’s Father is Hohenheim, by the way. (As I said, it’s following the manga but at the time it was created it was not yet clear that Father and Hohenheim were different people.) He speaks to Ed with a strange amount of fondness, calling him his most beloved son. (Which is quite something when its in front of the other Homunculi. I found this a really interesting dynamic)
Ed of course tries to resist, even with Hohenheim-Father promising to create a new permanent body for Al. He is held captive in the basement for five days before someone comes to rescue him. In that time he gets pretty abused by Envy but manages to disrupt the Homunculi’s plans some.
In this ending, Roy and Al come to save Ed but things go rather badly.
Tumblr media
Both Roy and Al are defeated and dying (from facing Bradley(AKA Wrath) and Envy) so Ed, in his desperation and heedless of his own wounds, attempts a transmutation to bring them both back. All his efforts bring the basement crushing down and almost no one survives.
Seeing how Ed is not fully dead and the great power he possesses, Hohenheim-Father decides to bring him to life as the Homunculus Pride (A name he has never given to anyone before as he felt he had never had any children worthy to bear the title until now.)
Tumblr media
Ed’s pretty much dead inside however. Pride is a cold, heartless creature who can’t seem to remember who he was. His new life seems to feature following Envy around (the only other Homunculus left.)
For all the love around Pride!Ed, the game only has this one screenshot, featuring an admittedly really cool design. (I love how he’s got two arms again but only one has a long sleeve). If you search for fanart there’s loads of Pride!Ed with this design. (It’s also rather impressive how this game predicted a Homunculus could be made out of a human as this was before Greedling existed and the method seems pretty similar.)
So, that was the real downer ending, (Roy dead, Al dead and Ed having lost himself). The other two endings hit closer to bittersweet.
If you go down the Al path in the game, by going home early each day and spending time with Al, you can unlock the Veg!Ed ending.
Tumblr media
So, you do things like agreeing to help Al with housework and agree to go out with him on your day off and you deal with the serial killer plotline. (Yeah, that’s a thing, it’s a little weird.)
Anyway, this time when Al and Roy come to rescue Ed from the basement, Al is particularly self-sacrificing. Actually this end kind of reminds me of the end of the anime. I’m sure you can see why.
Tumblr media
Envy stabs Al through the chest and so a distraught Ed decides to sacrifice himself to save his brother. He trades his soul for a new body for Al.
Tumblr media
Al lives this time, (As does Mustang) and his body is restored permanently. However Ed has given up his soul. He isn’t quite dead - he’s physically alive but unresponsive. Al takes him back to Risembool and continues to talk to and take care of Ed in his vegetative state, hoping his brother will some day respond to him.
Tumblr media
But there’s no sign of any recovery.
...
Right, the next ending is known as the Roy end. This is the ending you get if you follow Roy’s storyline.
Tumblr media
His storyline also deals with him remembering Hughes, who’s been dead for quite a while. You’ll notice in the picture above that one of the books has one of Hughes’ knives inside.
In this storyline you are invited to go out with Roy on your day off rather than going alone or with Al. It includes getting in a fight with him at one point.
Tumblr media
(They go into a pub and initially Roy orders two alcoholic drinks. Then he corrects himself and orders Ed something non-alcoholic. His first order had been for Hughes.)
Sadly, this ending is bittersweet as well. Al and Roy go into the basement to save Ed but this time Ed can’t save his brother. Alphonse disappears permanently. Ed’s still messed with the homunculi’s plans as he does every time and Roy and Ed manage to get out alive though Ed’s crying.
Tumblr media
Ed is extremely broken by the loss of his brother. For the next two weeks Ed locks himself away in his house alone, willing himself to believe his brother isn’t truly gone. Then Roy, who is now the Fuhrer, comes to see Ed. He’s cold as ever, telling Ed that his brother’s gone and that he needs to move on and start living, that Al would want him to be happy.
Tumblr media
Ed does start to move on, and continues his life by working under Roy in the military. (For RoyEd shippers this could lead into an angsty relationship between the two in this ending. It’d be a pretty good dynamic.)
So, how about the last ending - the joke ending? It’s called the Tea alchemist ending. In this game, one of Ed’s jobs has been to serve tea every day to the Fuhrer. Yeah.
Tumblr media
To get the tea ending you have to go down the King Bradley route. Basically you need to serve tea to him first every day and work overtime every day. On your day off, Bradley should call you and asks you to come into work on your day off. If you agree then Ed gets a permanent position of serving the Fuhrer as the Tea Alchemist and he never gets taken down to the basement.
Tumblr media
(The person patting Ed’s head in the above image is Fuhrer Bradley by the way.) Working overtime every day has Ed get closer to the Fuhrer.
Ed gets given some cookies made by the Fuhrer’s wife. Another time, Ed falls asleep and looks absolutely adorable on the couch. Another day, Selim calls Ed and they have a friendly chat. Selim says he wishes he could see his father more often. Then the next day, Selim has gone missing and Ed is able to tell them where to find him. King Bradley is very grateful, hence the fatherly pat on the head. Honestly, this might have been the most surprising storyline for me in the game. I didn’t expect anything like it at all (whereas I knew about the dark endings).
So that’s all the endings in this game. The only other thing to mention would be all the fanservice stuff. If you ship Royed, EdAl or Edvy, this game gives you fodder for all these ships. (Or if you don’t ship them then you can just ignore it pretty easily).
Of all the character designs in the game, Envy’s is probably my favourite to be honest.
Tumblr media
I love how his spiky hair seems to be all wildly different lengths and, well, just everything about his design. He’s as cruel and smug as ever of course. (When I say there’s shipping fodder, there’s no tender moments just typical Envy tormenting Ed and whatever his companionship with Pride is supposed to be.)
Roy is probably the one with the most obvious shipbait. At one point he convinces Ed to wear a dress to disguise himself as a girl. If that sounds random and fanservicey, it certainly is.
Tumblr media
(Yes Roy looks that smug for pretty much the entire game.) He and Ed are practically constantly arguing.
Ed meanwhile, looks incredibly cute throughout the game.
Tumblr media
(His pajamas are adorable. It’s has little cartoon Alphonse heads on it)
All versions of human Alphonse tend to look pretty good, I find. And this game does not disappoint in this regarding. For an obvious bit of fanservice, this game gives a particularly random shot of Al in the shower. (Getting that particular event was also kind of annoying and random.)
Tumblr media
Yeah, there’s no explanations for some things.
Oh, this isn’t necessarily fanservice or anything but I thought that Breda’s design looked surprisingly good, of all people.
Tumblr media
It’s the casual open uniform look. Makes him feel big and strong.
Finally there’s also a few outtakes that become available if you complete the right parts in the game. Most of them weren’t much to talk about but I found the one between Wrath!Bradley and Father Hohenheim to be rather funny.
It’s a silly outtake so it starts with Hohenheim commenting that Wrath is a good and dutiful son to him. Then he notes that Bradley is a father too and asks how Selim is. Wrath replies that Selim is the cutest boy in the world. Hohenheim has to argue though and says that, no, his son Edward is the cutest in the world. This goes on for a bit. Then Mustang (who has been secretly hiding with Alphonse) appears in order to interject that he believes Edward is indeed cuter than Selim. This is a mistake.
Wrath kills Mustang in anger. And the conclusion is that you should never mess with a father’s pride.
Gosh, that line has some layers in it. Anime!Bradley actually is Pride ironically enough. And later in the manga it would be revealed that his son Selim is Pride. That hasn’t been revealed yet though and the only Pride in Bluebird’s illusion is in fact Pride!Ed.
Now, I’m sure Selim is absolutely adorable in this verse but can he really compete with Bluebird’s illusion Edward?
Tumblr media
Heh, so this has become an incredibly long and detailed post that hopefully explains everything there is to know about that old fangame. It was an interesting thing to try out for sure. I’m not sure I’d actually recommend trying it out as it’s a bit slow and I’ve already explained pretty much all the interesting things about it.
If anyone has any further questions, I’d be happy to try and answer if I can though.
I personally love the headcanon that Hohenheim is in fact Father and I think I would have preferred it if the manga had actually gone that route. If only for the creepy fatherliness he might exhibit towards Edward. The odd love twisted with being evil and wanting to destroy the world would have been amazing in my opinion. Just the sample this game gave me was great.
Warhammer 40k: Wrath and Glory RP #40
As soon as they’re out of Terra, Ahram pulls Saef aside and tells him that he absolutely needs to have the crystal back, or he can’t guarantee what will happen. Saef pulls out the shards of the crystal and Ahram sort of deflates, saying it wasn’t meant to be in pieces. Saef explains where he got them and who he presumes are inside the crystals, and gives the piece he found at the Haemonculus cave to Ahram. Ahram doesn’t know what to do with it, he attempts to get the soul inside in him, but doesn’t manage. Saef pushes the soul inside into Ahram, who says he doesn’t feel much different.
Ahram explains his situation. As Saef has surmised, he is a clone. Cloning technology has existed for a long time in the Imperium, but there has been the trouble of the clones being super-unlucky and dying really quickly. A tech-priest on Triplex Phall figured it must have been due to the soul not splitting with the clones. So they took the soul out of Ahram using eldar spirit stones and made three clones. This Ahram is a clone (as was Saef’s Ahram, and the Ahram working for Kane Bullard), and he isn’t sure what happened to the original Ahram. Ahram says he could technically take Saef’s Ahram’s soul, but he isn’t quite sure what that would mean, as he has lived quite a life. Saef says there’s no need, he is going to have to let Ahram go at some point, but needs some time.
Saef’s eyes aren’t still working properly, so he asks Gorm if there’s any medics about. Gorm says there should be an apothecary around, Gorm’s also looking for a chaplain so they might as well go together. They do find a chaplain and an apothecary chatting. The apothecary takes Saef to the medbay and Gorm goes with the chaplain, named Calidus Examinare.
Gorm asks Calidus whether he could have a look at the Codex Astartes. He explains having met the Primarch of the Ultramarines, and it was an eye-opener so he would love to read more about his thoughts. Calidus is more than happy to part with a copy. Gorm shows Calidus the necklace he got from Fenris, and asks why it was given to him with no explanation. Calidus admits not knowing about how things like these are done on Fenris, but he surmises it could be a test to see what Gorm would do and act once such an object was given to him.
Gorm explains to Calidus about a situation with a brother he is worried for, who’s on the wrong path. Calidus ssays that it is only natural to be worried for a fellow battle-brother, and Gorm clarifies that he is not talking about a fellow Astartes, but a regular person. Then it is more complex of a situation, Calidus admits, the duty of the Astartes is to fight for the betterment of the humanity, it is easy to understand their path, but humans as whole have no such duty, so they are free to occasionally do bad things to each other. Calidus does encourage Gorm to help this friend to find his purpose and place among humanity.
Finally Gorm asks if he may join the Ultramarines for a prayer, and Calidus says he is free to do so, if he comes with humility and willingness. Prayer is a place to look into oneself, and many people do not pray because they do not like what they find when they look. Gorm says he is willing, and Calidus welcomes him. Gorm thanks him and leaves.
Saef and the apothecary, Julius Nepos, go to the medbay, where Saef explains the situation. Julius looks over the eyes and informs Saef that his sight may never return. If Saef wishes, or if it gets worse, Saef should talk to the Mechanicus of his regiment, so he can get augmentations. But for now Julius gives him nice new sci-fi glasses (+1 to appearing smart!).
While Saef and Gorm are gone, Gimlet goes to find a place where he can be alone, which is the ship’s engine room. He sets up tea for himself, and for a second person, which is the picture of Cara. He journals and talks with his mother.
The time our heroes spend at the Ultarmarines’ ship is rather quiet. Saef takes his time meditating. Ahram reads books (Saef’s Blood Angels’ book and then later a ship manual). Gimlet hangs out alone at the engine room. Uffe goes to practice with the Ultramarines. Gorm is barely ever present, going to the communal prayers and to follow the practice, and when he is present, he is nose-deep in the Codex Astartes.
Nearing their destination one day, everyone is gathered into a room, minus Ahram who, having sensed that something is happening has gone off to do something else. Gorm asks Uffe if he wants to stay to listen in, because he has something to say. Uffe shrugs and says if it’s okay with the others, mostly Gimlet. Gimlet says it’s cool.
So Gorm begins to speak, telling that when they went to Terra it was a big revelation to him and now he had time to reflect on it. He fears that he had made a misjudgement on Terra, because of the heated emotions of the moment. Gorm says that maybe it was his fault, in the perspective of things that Gimlet knows. Gimlet went behind Gorm’s and Saef’s back, but that is what Inquisition people do, and Gorm should have taken more careful measures around Gimlet. Gimlet says this is a rather surprising admission.
Gorm admits to some confusion about Gimlet’s path and motivations. He points out that Gimlet speaked a lot of fear of death back on Terra, and Gorm is of the opinion that many things Gimlet has done so far is because of this fear. Gorm wants to know what Gimlet wants to do before he dies, and says that to him it seems Gimlet wants vengeance on the dead people of Limestow. Gimlet says he wants his memories back, he wants justice for Limestow and to uncover what Tanner did. Gorm says finding his memories is a cause he can sort of understand, but for Limestow he has some reservations. To Gorm and to the Space Wolves, death is a natural part of life, a natural end point. Gorm wishes Gimlet wouldn’t dwell too much on what happened before, because nothing can change it, except warp and that is a sure path to damnation.
Gimlet makes the point that he is only seeking justice for Limestow, and vengeance for himself. Gorm asks that what if someone would offer to get his mother back, he isn’t convinced Gimlet wouldn’t take such a deal. Gorm says that instead of dwelling on Limestow Gimlet should focus on the future, on what he could do. Gimlet says it is not easy, and Gorm agrees that it is not, but he can help Gimlet.
Gorm says that people of Limestow don’t want justice anymore, and Gimlet, quite heatedly says that Gorm doesn’t know that, because the people of Limestow can’t say that for themselves, on the account of being dead. Gorm tells that for the Space Wolves, it is important to honor the dead, to remember them and what they died for. And if it were Gorm in Gimlet’s shoes he’d think about why they passed and work on prevention and leave what happened behind. Gimlet says that’s just Gorm’s opinion, and Gorm counters with saying it’s his advice.
Gimlet says his hope was only to be free after completing his mission, and that is now crushed. Gorm asks what changes if Tanner’s crimes are found out, and Gimlet says wouldn’t Gorm want to know, what he did and why he took Gimlet’s (and others’) memories. Gorm shrugs and says many people miss memories (including himself). Gorm thinks finding out about Tanner’s crimes isn’t a good idea, because it is not Gimlet’s place to judge him, the only who judges him anymore is the All-Father. Gimlet disagrees, thinking it is precisely his responsibility to do so. Gorm says that what Gimlet will find out won’t change things, and Gimlet coutners that Gorm can’t know if its worth it. Gorm says it won’t change anything for Tanner or for the people who are dead.
Besides Gimlet already found his parents, and that was a big thing. Gorm wants Gimlet not to focus on his negative feelings. He encourages Gimlet to find his past, but not to focus on the dead. The dead got what they deserved, and some did not, but they are dead nonetheless. Gorm thinks it would be more prudent to focus on living Inquisitors rather than Tanner’s crimes. There’s a lot of people who don’t speak highly of Inquisition, and Gimlet has a choice and knowledge to change things from within. Gimlet says he only wants out, because he thought he was doing good when he was in Inquisition, because this was how he was raised. Gimlet brings Vivek as an example. He says he treated Vivek awful, because he is an arsonist and that was the only thing he saw, but Vivek is alright (don’t tell Vivek Gimlet said that).
Gorm says it is important to think for themselves, such as Gimlet had to do after Tanner’s judgement. It is dangerous not to question things one believes in, Gorm says questioning  is how one finds out if those beliefs are worth it.
Gorm asks what Gimlet wants to do once he is out of the Inquisition. Gimlet says he doesn’t know, he mentions that his father is looking for their relatives. Maybe he’s going to see the world, maybe he’ll be an adventurer.
Gorm asks who is Gimlet’s true self, the one he was before Terra around Gorm and Saef, or the one on the phone with his old friends. Gimlet says both. Gorm encourages Gimlet to be his true self. Gimlet says that’s what he has been.
Gorm says that he has been worried for his friend, because he is watching his friends go against with what Gorm believes in, dwelling in the past, tinkering with truth (I never lied technically, says Gimlet; that is why I said tinkering, says Gorm), which is a quick way to get away from the All-Father’s light.
But it is not Gorm’s place to judge, he just wishes Gimlet would not have been afraid to speak his truth. Gimlet points out that Gorm has had the decency to act very irrationally and quickly re:punching Gimlet when he thought Gimlet had shot Vivek. Gorm apologizes and says he will not act like that anymore.
Gimlet says he never intended to do harm to Gorm or Saef. Gorm says he is still afraid of things Gimlet knows and how dangerous they could be, but he is choosing to trust Gimlet, because not trusting Gimlet wouldn’t do any good to Gimlet, and Gorm is worried for Gimlet.
Gorm explains that after they left Terra he was still angry, and he admits bugging Gimlet, telling there’s a listening device in his inventory. But now Gorm realizes it doesn’t do any good acting behind Gimlet’s back, there is no good to be done by those means. Gimlet looks at how Uffe is reacting to this and he appears to be a bit surprised, but again he is very hard to read as always.
Gorm has one more thing he wants to ask about, about the jaw of the wolf Gimlet gave to Gorm on Terra. Gorm asks if it was from Harald’s wolves, and Gimlet says that is so. Gorm nods sagely, that would explain it then. Morkai was stalking them on Orchard Mountain, and the jawbone is an amulet of Morkai, which has made Gimlet more scared of death. But now Gimlet has chosen to give it to Gorm, and Gorm is meant to lure Morkai away from Gimlet, and Gimlet doesn’t need to worry anymore.
Gorm’s last point is that Space Marines don’t do anything that isn’t worth dying for, and he wasn’t sure if Gimlet’s cause is worth Gorm’s death, but now he thinks there is good for the Imperium in Gimlet surviving. Gorm asks Gimlet to think about what he wants to do after the Inquisition, what he would be willing to die for. Gorm says there is only life, he shouldn’t spend it unnecessarily. Gimlet says he hasn’t thought about it, but he will.
(Gorm and Uffe have a long long conversation about all this later. Uffe basically says he still doesn’t know Gimlet, but he isn’t stepping in the way of what Gorm wants to do, even if he doesn’t get it completely. He isn’t too keen on the idea that Gimlet should not have his memories erased, which Gorm argues is the right thing. He also mentions Saef as a possible problem. Gorm reveals the conversation which he had with Vivek, and Uffe isn’t happy about that, apparently he had merely let Vivek think it was Chaos-influenced (which he admits wasn’t that great, but still, that was not Gorm’s thing to talk about (he should talk to Vivek)). Gorm asks about Uffe’s memories pre-Wolfing and Uffe says there’s basically none. Gorm thinks there is some kind of a choice that is coming up for Uffe, where Uffe should choose differently, just as Gorm chose differently with Gimlet. Gorm isn’t sure what it is, but it might have something to do with Uffe not being very communicative unless spoken to. Uffe admits to it, and says he’ll attempt to do better. (somewhere in this conversation comes up the fact that Gorm thinks they’re just people (echoing when Guilliman told him he’s just a soldier), and I’m putting it here just in case I’ll use it later). Gorm also calls Fenris again, and explains his change of heart. Sveleighr gives him free reign to do as he pleases, but says his commands have not changed.)
After a few days of silent living, our heroes hop off near Obsidia, and Saef hitchhikes the whole party to a delivery ship going to Dew Mountain, to the New Dawn in fact. Our heroes are dropped off at the hangar. The ship is empty and the lights are turned off, but soon a familiar figure comes by, that of Larssen Van Der Grauss, Elucia Vhane’s Mechanicus. He’s surprised to see our heroes and also recognizes Ahram, but doesn’t comment on it too much. He tells our heroes that several engineering floors were completely taken by Nurgle’s rot and that’s what the Mechanicus and the Sable Swords are cleaning downstairs. All of Elucia Vhane’s people are forbidden from going there, so they’ve been evacuated to Dew Mountain.
Upon being asked about the Inquisitors on board, Larssen admits that there has been an… incident. The Inquisitors were leaving, as they don’t belong to Captain Vhane’s crew, and afterwards, well, Larssen found the murdered body of Inquisitor Engarde. No idea what happened there, but Larssen suspects one of the Mechanicus might have an idea, as they informed them of the evacuation. Gimlet asks if he could see the body, and Larssen is like a bit weird. Gorm elbows Gimlet to tell Larssen that he belongs to the Inquisition, which he does.
Our heroes inquire after Vivek, and Larssen tells that he asked Captain Vhane for a ship to go to Triplex Phall, and was granted one, but the ship is still in the hangar, so Larssen isn’t sure if he took the ride with the Inquisitors or if he’s below deck with the clean-up crew. As our heroes have no idea where the Inquisitors were headed, they decide to go help with the rot cleaning, and see what they can see there.
Larssen takes them to the elevator heading down (he doesn’t come with, neither does Ahram). There are body bags lining the walls of the hallways, and burn marks all over the place. Pretty soon our heroes catch sound of people, and come upon a group of people, Mechanicus, servitors and Sable Swords. There’s a tech-priest working on some kind of boiler, this would be Z47r, Vivek’s brother. A skitarius scans our heroes and waves them through. Z47r asks how he can help our heroes, and acknowledges having met them before. Gorm offers to help him, and he is glad to have our heroes on board. Gorm asks if he knows a person by the name of 583 (aka Vivek), Z47r replies he doesn’t know anyone by that designation (and he doesn’t appear to be lying).
Sergeant Carl calls Z47r through vox communicators and lets him know that he is done, and the tech-priest agrees that they should meet up and move on. He begins leading his crew away, motioning for our heroes to follow. Gorm calls after him, asking if he knows what has happened to his brother. Z47r replies that his brother Vivek was sentenced to be a servitor some four years ago.
Walking down the corridors they come across a woman fleeing something. Something about her makes the scanner of the Mechanicus make noise and Z47r cuts her down and orders his skitarii to bag the body up.
Soon they come upon a larger room where the rest of Z47r’s folks are, including Sergeant Carl and a very, very familiar looking man in the grey jumpsuits of the servitors. It’s Vivek. Uffe grabs Gorm by the arm when he notices, cursing to himself. Gorm reminds Uffe of his promise, and Uffe says he knows and he is up for the task, though he doesn’t sound particularly happy about it. Saef catches Vivek’s eye, and Vivek gives him a subtle thumbs down.
Part 3 Episode 7
Sabrina crying over Zelda’s body but Mambo Marie is here to save the day! Apparently Zelda is so near death she’s stuck in limbo until she comes back when she has had strength
A banshee has turned up yelling her death yell, meaning a member of the Spellman family is going to die soon apparently
Why is Lucifer always walking around naked. Would it kill you to put some pants on dude? And Lilith is tense as fuck while waiting in the chair
‘you’d kill me for the part I played in overthrowing you, yes, except a lot has changed since your little nap in the tub’ I like Lilith’s way of summing up things.
She gave Blackwood the mark of Cain which means no one can hurt him, not even Satan (I feel this will backfire, making him invincible essentially, but...Lilith always puts self-preservation first)
‘and in exchange he gave me your seed’ you could have said that differently lilith. I don’t know how but...not like that.
‘the satanic miracle of miracles. I am with child’
Lucifer is not happy about this and immediately goes to, presumably, choke her to death, and she looks scared, as she often does with him and understandably so, but she reminds him she’s carrying HIS child. He argues he already has an heir (never heard of a spare, Lucifer?)
‘you wouldn’t kill your own SON’ she is playing so much to the fact she KNOWS he prizes boys above girls. And she’s right on the money because the moment she says son he gets all soft and hopeful. Bloody men.
he says it’s just a stay of execution and he plans to kill her after but come on, witches carry children for 13 months, that’s over a year for Lilith to make plans. Wait, is Michelle going to be baby-bumped up for Part 4????
‘perhaps in the mean time you can sort out the mess your daughter’s made in hell’ because let’s be honest...she has. I mean good intentions literally pave the road to hell and Sabrina walks that path often
‘if only for our child’s sake’ yep keep pulling that string, Lilith, loving it. They’re so close now that in any other couple it would look intimate and close, but with Lucifer it just looks menacing, like get out of her face and stop pinning her against the wall
But Lucifer has to accept she’s won this hand and tells her to go summon the court. Lilith has yet again survived, as she says she always does. She is a survivor above all else and I just admire the fuck out of that and I like that despite any direction the season has taken, they have stayed true to that part of Lilith’s character. Mary however they’ve just sent to Christian Nut Job Town
The Pagans have Blackwood and he’s smug AF because he has the Mark of Cain. He wants to take down the Church of Night so he wants to partner up with the Pagans. Bloody Faustus. He wants his kids back I think, which fair does, but you planned to marry them together. You’re not a Targaryen
Theo and Robin having some cherry popping. Look away! Private moment!
And Lucifer is back and Lilith is at his side and if I was Lilith I would be sticking my finger up at the aristocracy because who has been in a place of power constantly no matter who rules hell? Why Lilith of course. Suck it, fellas! And one of the Kings challenges him and he snaps his neck, but this doesn’t stop Caliban still coming forward.
Lilith is perfection with her Caliban specific eyeroll with the added comment of ‘oh this should be good’. She looks so irritated in the background. But she’s safe now because of her pregnancy so she’s standing strong again which I like to see. I mean I ABHOR she’s back with her abuser, but I like that she’s managed to avoid being killed by him and I presume this isn’t the way the balance will stay for long.
‘She’ll turn  up. She usually does’ Lilith again summing up Sabrina nicely
Ooh we’re seeing Zelda’s limbo dreams- And Hilda is in limbo too. AND EDWARD IS THERE TO MEET THEM
Also witch limbo much nicer than mortal limbo
Sabrina has brought cheerleaders to the academy to chant.  HEY MICKY??? WE’RE SINGING HEY MICKEY???? BRING IT ON FLASHBACKS. And I do adore that film so am I singing along? Yes. Yes I am. But it seems to be working with the cheerleaders.
Oh fuck Blackwood turned up
This is such a Practical Magic vibe with non-witches joining alongside the coven, and the cheerleaders at back at high school and sabrina has taken the coven to hell. Like you do. At least she didn’t mix it up
Agatha has turned magic psycho, Dorcas is dead, and Blackwood is using all this to his advantage
OMG LUCIFER AND LILITH WALKING IN TOGETHER IS QUITE THE IMAGE I WON’T LIE. They look like Sabrina’s disappointed parents. Actually they have the energy of the King and Queen from the Cinderella with Bernadette Peters. So Lilith is Whoopi Goldbery in this scenario
Sabrina immediately jumps to conclusions ‘the dream team back together again’
‘don’t mistake survival and co-dependency for love. We are very much NOT together’ Lilith could not put more emphasis on that ‘not’ if she tried
OMFG LILITH SAID TO SABRINA ‘take your place as Queen of Hell. Keeping throne warm for your’ dramatic touch to belly ‘little brother’. Lucifer looks really happy about this.
You know if Lilith keeps Sabrina on side and helps her with stuff, Sabrina as Queen, and then being able to share the throne with a brother so she can do mortal stuff might be the key to Lilith keeping herself alive and away from the Dark Lord’s wrath. His abuse is another matter
Edward knew that Lucifer was Sabrina’s Father and apparently Edward is like Zelda’s spirit guide.
FLASHBACKS TO YOUNG ZELDA AND YOUNG FAUSTUS AT THE ACADEMY.
The Dark Lord is making foolish decisions and Lilith is speaking to him like she speaks to Sabrina when she’s about to make a hasty bad decision. OMG she’s got to deal with two of them. Let’s pray Lilith’s child takes after Lilith. Also I’d love for it to turn out to be a girl, just because women are ruling this throne. And a girl would play on the whole ‘spellman twins’ thing
When Lucifer telepathically tells Sabrina to go to the place where Judas, Cassius and Brutus are, all I can see in my head is Michelle Fairley as Cassius because I went to see her playing that role twice
Mary coming back to class stressed as fuck, because obviously she killed someone and she’s learned about witches and shit. But I feel her shooting Zelda was while the devil was in her ear the way it was with the witches earlier in the season.
The pagans need a virgin and poor Harvey still is so he’s being hunted down in a library. Bad day. Ah Robin saved them.
And now we’re seeing the flash back when baby Sabrina suddenly appeared in the Spellman home after Edward and Diana died
Sabrina doing a nice bit of graverobbing but she’s getting all thrally with the vampire. But apparently she doesn’t taste good, her blood burns him? Because she’s celestial. And Sabrina adds also there was no consent so she smashes him in the face
I suspected Dorcas would be killed off since she was the lead in the other netflix show, but the tragedy of Agatha doing and Prudence having to kill Agatha fucking hurts man. She’s lost her fucking SISTERS
AND NOW BLACKWOOD HAS STABBED PRUDENCE IN THE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!! PRUDENCE IS DYING IN AMBROSE’S ARMS NOOOOOOOOOOO
But then we’re getting a glimpse of the future where zelda is very very very old and dying and sabrina calls her her Mother and zelda is realising maiden mother crone is so important to defeating the pagans and saving the coven
Zelda has woke up to shit fest and Blackwood stood over her with a bloody knife
HE STABBED ZELDA IN THE HEART. PEOPLE STOP KILLING ZELDA.
Caliban trapping Sabrina and planning to kill her, and Sabrina says ‘My Father and Lilith’ erm did you just use Lilith in the same sentence as your Dad as if she’s your stepmother? Like......I love that
Virgin Harvey is being sacrificed in the green man thing much like the Wicker Man. The vines are taking him and absorbing him like we saw happening to Mary in the trailer? But it hasn’t happened to Mary....yet
