Fellas is it gay to stare longingly at your friend in the desert twilight as the fire slowly dies and your soup grows cold while she gets lost in thought staring out into the endless dunes?

The Hunt or Anxiety Dog ft. Sword
Felt like doing an illustration of a long dog with illuminated manuscript and medieval border vibes.

One of my favorite moments from Goncharov (1973) is Katya's Dress in the dinner party scene. I really wanted to take the opportunity to illustrate it because it just embodies so many important elements of her story and her journey as a character.
I'm so glad we're all talking about Goncharov because I really love this movie.

The moment I finished inktober this man appeared in my head with his weird half moon head. He's been haunting me for two weeks, but I was on a drawing embargo for so I was not allowed to draw him. Anyway I'm allowed to draw again so here he is, I hope he haunts you too.

My friend had a dream about a unicorn crossed with a dog. Anyway, this is my rendition of what she says she saw. Lots of little details, and patterns, because I love little details and patterns.
Whenever I've gone to the UK, I always notice these particular tiles. Just the same white and slightly off colored blue-green-black, paired with reddy-orange tiles, some with patterns, some plain. They distinctly stand out in my brain as this inconspicuous nod to the time period they're from that go slightly ignored. I don't really know anything about why these tiles exist, nor that there's any particularly interesting fact about them. (I asked a museum guide about them once and he had nothing notable to say about them, nor did he think the tiles were that interesting) But I like them. I wanted to put them in this illustration to help this illustration feel tangible and real.
Is this something you need to know? Probably not. But I like sharing little details behind the thoughts that go into the creation of my illustrations.

Inktober Day 8: Toad
Don't ask me why the toad has teeth. I don't have an answer, I just looked into his slightly bulbous eyes and he told me he needed teeth. I don't make the rules, I just do what I'm told.

Inktober Day 6: Golden
On the coast there are tales of a golden fish, one so beautiful, so powerful, that to see it once is to live an eternity in seconds. People have gone seeking this fish for millennia, knowing that to catch it could mean unknown glories for its captor. Of course it is only fitting, that despite all of humanity's technology and inventions, a seagull should find it first. Everyone, please congratulate this seagull for its completely unchecked power. The golden fish has blessed the seagull for life, I hope he is pleased with his eternal offerings of trash.
