Why are some people so stupid 🤡

For context, our biology class is divided by 2 groups: the ones seeking a degree to teach and the others (me) who are not going to be teachers

We were talking about the number of classes we'll have about zoology (the future-teachers have 3 and the non-teachers have 5), and comparing it with the classes presented by another college whose classes are long-distance and they only have 1 zoology class

So, our teacher, rightfully so, was pissed that we'd have to compete in a field with people who had only one zoology semester (meaning, they studied ALL OF IT in 6 months, which isn't nearly enough. For context, in freaking school we study more than that). Which, to be completely fair, means that the guys with only 1 class are not prepared at all

Anyway, I was talking with the future-teacher guys and they were whinning because they thought that having 3 zoology classes was too much.

I kid you not one girl really said: "why do we need to see so much stuff, anyway? That's not important"

Dear?? Darling????? You have ONLY 3 of those classes??? And you need to know that stuff so you can teach the future generations of biologists, doctors, pharmacists, nurses and whoever else???????? You KNEW the classes you'd have when you signed up because the site itself has the whole study script written there????? Why the fuck are you complaining?????

Obviously we should be pissed about the fact that some in the field won't be capable enough because they won't have nearly enough knowledge (not only in zoology, but other classess as well)??? Because they one day will have to teach that stuff that they didn't learn because they were in long-distance classes that do not teach them enough??? And that's without touching on the subject that the long-distance students don't have the hands-on experience of being in the labs and going to field-trips-

We need to have at least 3.200 hours of experience to actually get our biology certificate in Brazil

Those long-distance classes fill up 1.200 hours.

Luckily i remembered about the existence of this app. lol. Another life update entry i guess? Here we go ->

Life hasn't been that great. I mean yeah aside form studying, I've been having fun! Socialising, playing football, a bit of rugby. To be honest, this entry won't be a fun life update. Basically I'm here to rant. Can't do it on twitter cause all my friends are there. No one wants to hear my problem. You can say this place is a safe space for me (even if you read this you might be a stranger to me lol but feel free to read !).

Academic wise, I think i'm fumbling my degree. Yeah! I've started my degree last march. I'm in my first year first semester. At first I was excited ! Learning new things, coding, doing homeworks. No for real i did all the homeworks they gave me, for the first 3 weeks. But then it all sort of fell off like domino pieces because of Raya celebration. Don't get me wrong I love Raya, it's just that the holidays distrupted the college timetable A LOT. I mean replacement classess were all during the night or the weekends. Quizzes were held every week, assignments, crappy lecturers.

Tonight I just had my mid term test 2 for this one subject. It was at 8pm. While i was on my bed that evening(i slept after studying) my lecturer of said subject just released the score for quiz 4 of the subject. I actually tried my best for that quiz. I studied, rewatch the lecture recording, made notes. I had high hopes that i wouldn't get a score below 5(full marks was 10). You know what i did get? 1. 1 out of 10. After seeing the result, I honestly didn't know what to do. "Should i go and take the test that night? It's pretty much worthless if you think aboht it". I could say the feeling was worst than a heartbreak( i wouldn't know i've never experience it before). And then i started to think about this other subject at which my carry mark was also pretty low. Not only this subject has assignments to submit, it also has a final exam. So that's twice the headache i need to face for 1 subject.

I'm 24 this year and since this is my first year degree, I should be graduating when I turned 26. A lot of my friends has started working this year and here I am just starting my degree. Talk about being late. Now i have a mid-20ish-lif crisis(?). I'm starting to think I'm not smart. I mean all my life I thought I was average. Like yeah straight after highschool i played alot. But I've always thought if i really did focus on my studies, I'd be average. Now I'm not so sure. I think I'm 90% conviced that I'm below average. You know how theres smart students who scored straight A's, then there's above average students who scores 3.5 and above, and then the average students who scores 3.2 and above. I used to think I was average. Right now i think i'm just stupid. I studied, however i still didn't score. Like what does that tell you? You're not smart enough for this course.

So let's talk about my backup plan. As of right now, plan A is to finish this degree and get a job in the it industry. Plan B is work part time whilst studying this degree( to avoid me doing nothing at all). Plan C is to enroll in those google coirse where they give you a certificate upon completion(data analyst, web developer etc).

Plan C looks to me the more realistic approach given the situation I'm in. The only downside is I won't have a degree to my name. And that's bad for my future. It means it will be hard for me to climb the corporate ladder. I may be stuck in the same job position until i retire.

But let's be honest here, the only logical thing to do here is to finish the degree. Everyone else agree with this. Even you! Stranger who i don't know, reading my post somehow. I should just push through this upcoming 3 maybe 4 years of university life. It'll be over before i know it. I know i can do it. I just have to believe in myself again. Find that spark.

It all comes down to the basics of life you know? How my relationship with Allah is, with my family, friends. I need to do a lot of self reflect to become a better version me. Maybe not the best version, but just better than yesterday at least.

Wow! That's a lot of rant. Hahahaha. Yeah i just need to vent out you know. Maybe the next time I do my life udpate I'll be writing some good news! Maybe.... we'll see.

i genuinely can’t be inside my house without anything productive to do for more than a month i’ll go insane by tearing myself apart & overthinking about myself or things i cannot change

You and Steve knew each other from when you two were only 8 years old. You two were best friends. You both were inseparable. As you two grew you started to develop a crush for Steve. But you didn't want to admit it cause you didn't want to spoil your friendship with him. Plus you knew Steve would never feel the same for you. You were just a simple girl from a small town and a middle class family and he is the son of a millionaire father and he was too handsome to be true.

That was until the day when you two met each other after your classess when he asked you out on a date. You immediately said yes , who were you to reject the offer. You couldn't believe he felt the same way for you. From that day you two became the lovebirds, who were deeply in love as classmates and other students called you in school. And also Steve's parents liked you . Truth to be said his parents were very kind and caring especially his mom Sarah who loved you. She often used say what your life would be like when you're her daughter-in-law that made you feel a bit uncomfortable cause you were not thinking about marriage so soon.

Your life was perfect good grades in college and an amazing boyfriend but the only problem in your life was your parents who were extremely traditional. They didn't approve your relationship with Steve. They wanted you to marry someone of their choice. Your mother often told you to stay away from Steve and your father talked about getting you married to the man of his choice once you get graduated. But you didn't matter yourself by their talks.

“ Coming ”you replied before hurrying to open the door. You wondered who it could be . When you opened the door it was none other than your handsome boyfriend Steve.

“Steve, come inside .”you told to him . Steve entered your apartment and then sat on the couch in the living room. You followed soon after .

“Steve, what are you doing here? ”

“You're not happy that I'm here. ”

“No it's not like that ”you replied tensed “it's just the middle of noon that's why... ”

Before you could complete your sentence he interrupted “Did you think about future after we graduated? ”

“No”you answerd surprised as why did he ask that. “Do you have any think in mind? ”

Then you realized your father is setting your marriage with a guy named Brock Rumlow. “My dad is preparing for my marriage, infact he found the guy. ”

“Do you want to marry the guy? ”

“No” you replied truthfully. You didn't wanted to marry someone whom you never met before.

“ Well, I have something in mind ”

“What?” you asked curiously.

“Run with me.”

“What?” you were shocked .“Are you crazy? ”

“Yeah I'm crazy but in love. ”he was serious “Run away with me, I'm not asking .”

“Ohh..... okk” you replied “When? ”

“Tomorrow, at night. Pack your stuff and be ready. I'll let you know the timing. ”he replied. Then he stood up and went to your door and out of your apartment.

You couldn't believe you were finally going to run away with your boyfriend. Just till tomorrow then you're free. You were too excited thinking that.

It has been three years after you ran away with Steve. Now you had the most perfect life that you could ever think of.

You never talked to or saw your parents or your young brother after the day. You really brought shame to your family as your father would say. But now you didn't care .

Today was your daughter Isabell's first birthday. She was in middle of the crowd on her grandma's lap. Everyone was enjoying the birthday party while you stood at the corner lost in your thoughts.

“Hey sweetheart. ”you saw Steve approaching towards you.

“Hey Steve. ”

“Why are you standing here all alone? Don't you like the party. ”he asked curiously.

“No ”you replied truthfully “I'm just a bit uncomfortable. ”

“Do you need me to live you to our room? ”

Basically, UED 102 is like a course where it opens up a student’s mind towards basic academic skills like setting the right goals, memory strategies, how to take lecture notes, etc. After taking this course, students should begin their personal study skills portfolio like mine.

1. ATTEND ALL CLASSES . ONE OF THE BEST WAYS TO BE SUCCESFUL IN COLLEGE IS TO ATTEND ALL CLASSESS . ALTHOUGH YOU WILL BE TESTED ON MATERIAL FROM THE COURSE TEXT , MOST OF THE TEST QUESTIONS WILL COME FROM LECTURES.

so, when I was growing up practically all my teachers told my mom to test me for ADHD and she said no, because she thought people were too quick to put kids on attention deficit meds and was like “oh, but she can focus on the subjects she likes, so she’s fine she’s just lazy.” and because she was so sure I didn’t have it, I was sure, too, and couldn’t understand why I couldn’t bring myself to focus on homework and for the longest time thought I was broken and an awful irresponsible wretch and I felt so guilty.

Then when I got to college, I started seeing a lot of haha funnie joaks from people about ADHD and I went “haha, I do that...wait...”

moral of the story is, my grades were so bad I got put on acedemic probation at my college, but now I’m taking Adderall, and I’m taking classess at a community college and I’ve never gotten better grades in my life and I’m kind of pissed at my mom, because if this is the kind of work my brain can produce when I get the proper treatment, then if I’d been taking it during middle school and high school I would have been in the honor society and would have gotten a full ride somewhere instead of just a partial scholarship and I’m pissed at my mother for taking that from me and making me climb out of this pit I’ve been digging all my life while she stands over the hole asking me what the matter with me is, like bitch, I love you, but you should know. people have been telling you what the matter was since I was six years old.

Aww I'm sorry about your college situation, it would literally be so wrong to decide on physical classess. Where I live my whole university started a normal year except for my programme, and at first I was so mad because I couldn't experience the whole thing but later when other students started catching covid I was literally so glad I got to stay home.
