Before Talia took him in, before he was dunked in the pit to have his memories restored, even when operating purely on survival instinct, he always split a meal with the other homeless people. It may not have been essential to his survival, but caring about and helping other people when he couldn’t even help himself was just always such an intrinsic part of Jason’s core.

#so much so that it prevailed over basic self-preservation #my guy lost 90% of his cognitive function and he’s still out here helping people in any way he can #my post #new headcanon: that’s why he stole all 4 tires. because he wasn’t just feeding himself in crime alley. #or at least he was planning to expand his work now that he had more confidence in his ability to feed and care for himself #I mean he also isn’t the type to brag about his good deeds yk? we all know he was putting up a tough guy façade when Bruce found him #a mutual asked abt Jason’s white streak so I directed them to hush which ofc reminded me of this book #rather than it being exclusively a pit thing imo it makes more sense for it to be a combination of actual health related issues #like the chronic prolonged mental and physical stress he had to endure coupled with the fact that superboy’s punch kickstarted his body #in ways that are unknown to modern science #and then the pit also had a hand in it (probably??) #(imo). like Talia doesn’t have it. neither do Damian or Ra’s or anyone else who’s been in the pit. #jason todd #dc #batman annual 25 #comic panels

thinking about the 'load-bearing event' post and how nearly the entire post-1990s Bat mythos rests on No Man's Land happening, and it getting punted out of canon when the reboot happened irreparably fucked over both the "Batfamily" as a concept and multiple character dynamics until Death Metal/Infinite Frontier re-canonized it last year

EVERYTHING about the Bat mythos post-2000 hinged on NML's consequences & fallout #it re-organized Gotham's power structure‚ kickstarted Ivy's redemption arc‚ introduced Cass‚ and was the first true 'Batfamily' event #not to mention it tied both Dick and Barbara back to Gotham in ways they previously hadn't been #established Huntress as an actual Player™ #gave an avenue for the comics to properly introduce Harley Quinn #and led to MASSIVE character growth and changes for Tim and Steph #is it really any surprise that the Bat books ALL felt like they were missing something vital from 2011-2020 #when one of the most important events that ever happened to them was de-canonized?

#this is why i havent been posting much #ive been so busy between making episodes and doing Kickstarter prep #theres been a lot more for Kickstarter prep than i had anticipated #i mean. not really. #i knew it was gonna be a lot #but it's takin longer than i thought #cause i always forget how little time i have outside of making comic updates #I'm also thinking $25 a book #and then itd be $30-60 to ship them #so. if youre reading these tags its not an official announcement #but i want to give people ample warning #cause i know $150 is a lot to save up #also for legal reasons #i can not print all the books at once... #i have to go one at a time?? #so I'm planning on making it like.. a box every few months #idk #I'm trying to think of thinfs that make it more worthwhile to do it that way #i want ppl to feel like they got their moneys worth idk #but! tbese two books look really good #I get proofs really early so i can go through for typos or color errors asap #so! hopefully I'll have the ghost and Victorian ones done by end kf year #so i can do the Kickstarter in like... jan/feb #i wanna add some scenes to the Victorian one #so. loads of work to do #printing #books #Kickstarter prep #time and time again

Gargoyles Needs Our Help!

There is currently a Kickstarter for reprints of the Marvel and SLG comics (as well as some other goodies), and though it has blown its target goal out of the water, we need to send a strong message to Disney that people love this property and want to see more of it.

To help, we need to run up the backer numbers on the KS! If you were on the fence about backing, consider getting the TPs, or if you don't want anything, consider backing without a reward. You can donate $1 and it would still count towards the number of backers!

Don't wait, don't sit on the sidelines and hope these get published later. If you can afford it, please vote with your wallet and back the KS. Let's tell Disney loud and clear that Gargoyles is still a viable property!

Re-Spun Threads is a paperback comic anthology of fairytales and folklore set in cultures (micro or macro) outside the original or well-known version of classic tales. 

Sixteen creators and creative teams came together to craft short comics based on the concept of retelling classic tales with the twist that the characters and/or time and place had to change from the original. The goal was to bring the structure of a fairytale and mold it to convey themes and cultures more relevant to ourselves-- Not to unweave the tapestry of tales that we love, but to rework them into something new.
