Final Fusion Misinformation
You might have seen people saying something like this before: "studies find that final fusion only works 12.8% of the time." When I was pursuing final fusion, people in the community threw this 12.8% at me to try and discourage me from my desired recovery. After all, what's the point of pooling all of my time & energy into pursuing final fusion if it has such a low success rate?
Although I don't know where exactly this "low success rate" idea came from, most people I know explain that The Plural Association introduced it to them. This would make sense, because this nonprofit frequently states that final fusion has a 12.8% success rate on their webpage & resources. Here's some examples:

Now, here's the thing:
This is at best a misquote & at worst purposeful misinformation.
The study that is linked here does not say that final fusion is only successful 12.8% of the time, or that only 12.8% of DID patients achieve final fusion.
In this study, a handful of DID clinicians are interviewed about their patients. It says that 39 patients terminated their therapy. 25.6% of those patients said that they reached a successful resolution in their therapy, they no longer needed it. 12.8% of those no longer needed therapy after full fusion, 12.8% no longer needed therapy but didn't fully fuse.
This is not a success rate. This does not say how many patients achieved final fusion. This is just a reason behind why some people left their therapy. The percentage is the same for people who did and did not achieve final fusion.
Here's the exact quote from the study:
Tumblr media
(Source)
I have no idea how anyone can take a look at this and misconstrue the 12.8% to be about how successful final fusion is. It's possible it was just a misunderstanding, but I have trouble trusting that as The Plural Association has cited this study multiple times, including writing a whole article on it, yet continues to misconstrue final fusion as only being successful in 12.8% patients when that's just, blatantly, wrong.
Please reblog & spread this! Final fusion is horrifically stigmatized and fully fused systems are subjected to frequent harassment & misinformation about their recovery choices. It's not okay, and we should hold nonprofits like The Plural Association to better standards.

hi, twitter refugee here and i love this blog. it's a breath of fresh air compared to the "proship" side of one of my previous main fandoms. i feel like both "sides" on twitter generally just use the other stance to mean "anyone i don't like." the big "proship" people in that fandom were hypocrits who would call me anti for having a popular ship as a trigger (even tho i don't care who shipped it) while also calling me a "freak" for (properly tagged) caregiver/little and abdl content. i ended up receiving harassment from them at the same time as harassment from antis for being openly proship and shipping teacher x student, large age gaps and incest. it was just so confusing and frustrating because it was like "whatever happened to ignoring content you don't like? what proship literally means???" as people openly into shotacon would shittalk me over abdl like it doesn't make them sound hypocritical and then it felt so much like you were expected to like the most popular ship in the fandom (which was deemed as problematic by a lot of people) to be "proship" even tho a lot of antis like that ship too. it's just great to see that proship tumblr seems to be actually proship and anti-harassment rather than whatever weirdness twitter was
Oh my god, I am so sorry you've dealt with people like that. Those people sound insufferable, and that means a lot coming from me because I myself am very insufferable ❤️ /hj
Tbh it reminds me of when i saw some so-called "proshippers" (reminder: you can't be proship if you harass people over their shipping tastes!) call people "anti-lite" simply because they didn't support radqueer things like consang.
Consanguinamory is about IRL people! Shipping shipcest is fiction! Anti is not just a label you use for people who don't like the things you like or disagree with you about serious topics like IRL incest, wtf? I know this isn't specifically what this ask is about, but it's something I've actually seen with my own two eyeballs that blows my mind.
You are very welcome here, as are your boundaries. Unfortunately, we do have some of those types of people using the proship label here on tumblr, but thankfully, they aren't common. At least not in my experience. I hope you have a much better time here! ❤️

Recently I went back home for a month (Nairobi, Kenya) and i was shocked to see how much the place had developed and changed. The architecture is so unique and different and people are really invested in making their city more green and beautiful.
But there was one major issue in the area I live in, and that was the roads and traffic all day everyday! (Parklands 2, Nairobi). The roads were crushed and cracked (I believe its because of the large containers and the rains in Nairobi). My body would hurt every time we went on the roads and we would get stuck in one place for more than 10 minutes, so to go to a place that is 10 minutes, it would take us 30 minutes and it just get worse during "lunch time" or "back home time". There were no traffic lights or signals so automatically people would go in every direction at the same time and to make it worse the roads were not repaired.
Roads were blocked, cyclists were tripping and getting hurt or getting into a major accident every other week. There was alot going on and pedestrians were obviously not feeling safe in that area.
I think the most important thing to do is invest money and time to fix roads because that affects every single person, whether they are walking, driving, cycling. People in the community should feel safe to commute from one place to another. I think what makes it worse is that Parklands is the main neighborhood/community in Nairobi and it is centrally located. People are living in the biggest of houses, all the malls are in the area, restaurants, offices, hospitals etc. But once you come out on the road, it felt like a new world all together.

a reminder in these times:
please remember to tag your posts and reblogs about politics. yes they're important, especially now, but seeing the constant barrage of about how the government wants trans people dead is not helping any of us feel much better.
Please have the courteousy to tag your posts, so that people have the option to click when they're in a good headspace for tackling these issues.
and to that end, be sure to practice self care, especially my fellow trans folk. Seek your community, seek trans joy. It is our power.

a pretty big source of contention between different communities of trans people is that it's very easy to get upset at people you consider your allies and expect to know better when they seem casually dismissive of your struggles. it can be really hard to stay calm and politely explain things when we're so used to being deliberately undermined by cis folks. i really don't want to seem like i'm trying to start an argument, but i'm so used to erasure of my experiences and struggles as transmasc person and especially as a nonbinary person that it's very easy to get upset and come off more aggressively than i intend to. i've been on the other end of this as well, and i try to remember to assume good faith from other trans people.
it really does not help that i'm autistic and i've always been seen as argumentative even when i'm specifically going out of my way to try to be polite; i have no idea how people are going to interpret my words, or my tone, or what assumptions they'll make about my beliefs. it's even worse when it's based on one or two imprecise words that don't correctly convey how i feel about things, but i have a hard time finding a different way to phrase it that makes any sort of sense so i end up giving up and going, "people who read this will know what i'm trying to say, right?". i'm constantly trying to articulate my thoughts in a way that doesn't lead to incorrect assumptions, but a lot of people on the internet have had bad experiences and assume bad faith. i know this and i try not to blame them, but it's so upsetting to be constantly misinterpreted and misunderstood.
i don't want other people to feel undermined or erased the same way i've felt. i don't want to seem dismissive, i don't want to be dismissive, i don't want to erase people's experiences. i want to be allies and friends with all sorts of trans people with experiences completely unlike my own, i want to understand others and be understood in turn.

out of curiosity, i looked at the carrd of the person who made the "tmra blocklist"; this is the section on transmisandry/transandrophobia:
Tumblr media
"transmascs do face a specific type of transmisia unique to them" - all that people who speak about transandrophobia are saying is that the transmasc-unique transmisia, as described here, should have a word for it. thats all.

watching , , , almost every win coming from an anti-endo / anti-endo leaning being is sad.
Makes her Aimness feel a little sad for the pro-endo side, y'know ( ? ) Especially with the SIW drama going on making us seem worse [ SO BAD, SO SO BAD ]
I hope it all gets better soon.

I feel a lot like I’m an impostor in the community sometimes. I know my experiences are genuine and that I’m definitely nonhuman but I can’t shake the feeling that I’m making it up. When I talk about my experience I wonder if I’m only saying what people want to hear and deceiving them into believing I’m ‘a real therian’. I don’t know how to trust myself better, I thought time interacting with the community would help but after ten years I feel it’s only gotten worse.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again
#yeehaw#1k#5k#10k#posts that got cursed. blasted. im making these tag updates after... 19 hours?#also i have been told it should say speech loss bc nonverbal specifically refers to the permanent state. did not know that!#unfortunately i fear it is so far past containment that even if i edited it now it would do very little. but noted for future reference#edit 2: nvm enough ppl have come to rb it from me directly that i changed the wording a bit. hopefully this makes sense#also. in case anyone is curious. though i doubt anyone who is commenting these things will check the original tags#1) my friend did not do this on purpose in any way. it was not intended to distract me or to hit on me. im a lesbian hes a gay man. cmon now#he felt very bad about it afterwards. i thought it was hilarious but it was very embarrassed and apologetic#2) “why didn't he use 🫵🏼?” didn't exist yet. “why didn't he use 🆗?” dunno! we'd been using a lot of hand emojis. 👌🏼 is an ok sign#like it makes sense. it was just a silly mixup. also No i did not invent 👉🏼👌🏼 as a gesture meaning sex. do you live under a rock#3) nonspeaking episodes are a recurring thing in my life and have been since i was born. this is not a quirky one-time thing#it is a pervasive issue that is very frustrating to both myself and the people i am trying to communicate with. in which trying to speak is#extremely distressing and causes very genuine anguish. this post is not me making light of it it's just a funny thing that happened once#it's no different than if i post about a funny thing that happened in conjunction w a physical disability. it's just me talking abt my life#i don't mind character tags tho. those can be entertaining. i don't know what any of you are talking about#Except the ppl who have said this is pego/ryu or wang/xian. those people i understand and respect#if you use it as a writing prompt that's fine but send it to me. i want to see it#aaaand i think that's it. everyday im tempted to turn off rbs on it. it hasn't even been a week

Question for you, I’ve noticed a lot you write sysmed definition as “believing DID is a mental illness (and therefore excluding endogenic systems” as parallel to transmed “being transgender is a mental illness (and therefore excludes non-dysphoric trans people). I won’t speak of its earliest termionology, but other than radical spaces, I have ONLY seen it used as “plurality can only be medical/DID/etc,” like how transmeds say “you NEED dysphoria to be trans”. It seemed to be paralleling a different angle—the you must be x to be y, very scarcely have I seen it as you described other than very radical spaces—and anti endos claiming it as such. I’m simply curious, do more people use it your way that’s outside of what we’ve seen? I do not mean to be rude or anything, I just rarely seen the more “radical” term from non-radical sides haha.
It has definitely been used against people who just saw DID/OSDD as mental disorders, or even just systems who had medical needs. It was a big issue a few years back when the term was becoming more popular. For a while, believing in structural dissociation or fitting the structural dissociation model would also get you called sysmed. Didn't matter if you were pro-endo, anti-endo, whatever.
Thankfully, I don't really see it being used that way as much anymore. I agree it's definitely more of a thing for more aggressive folks to do. Idk about other platforms though (I hear it was especially bad on Twitter). That being said, I do have most of the syscourse community blocked so it could also just be that.
Anyways, here's some extra stuff you might find interesting:

I know people are angry about predstrogen's ban right now- as they should be. But I really wish more people were talking about Nex Benedict's murder.
They were my age. Not even out of school. And they were murdered. Not "passed away" or "left us" murdered.
And I am so, so angry that this still happens. People will say our world is more accepting and that we don't need to fight anymore, when clearly we do! And I don't want to stop fighting until the world is a safe place for trans kids and trans elders.
So don't forget them. Their name was Nex Benedict.
Edit- important things from the notes:
Nex was indigenous. This is an intersectional hate crime.
Nex used he/him with friends and they/them with family, so I think he used he/they with a preference for he/him.
His murder has been called a suicide. It is very clearly not a suicide.
His name was Nex Benedict

I want you to ride my thigh. Not delusional like others would want it from you. No, I want to kiss you deeply while you do it, our tongues exploring each others mouth. I’ll have one hand in your hair, grabbing it and swirling it around my fingers. I want you to lay your head on my shoulder, sloppily kissing my neck while you‘re moaning into my soft skin. Your mouth slightly open, your eyes squeezed shut. I‘ll put my other hand on your back, pulling you a bit closer with every single time you chase your high. Little whimpers escaping between your beautiful lips, while I whisper into your ear how good you‘re doing. How breathtaking you look like, how sexy your noises are. How much you turn me on. How much I want you. How much I want you to cum all over me without having to waste a single thought about what is happening. I‘d whisper your name and feel your heart beat hard against my chest. Little drops of sweat trailing down your back, meeting my hand that‘s grabbing you even harder. I want you to thoughtlessly let your legs shake as you feel your high coming closer and your moans getting louder. Shamelessly clawing your nails into my skin, leaving marks on me which you know I will return after. I want you to ride my thigh knowing once you came, I‘ll flip you over and slip my tongue into your beautiful pussy. I‘ll taste your sweet cum, not even letting you completely come down from your high. Keeping your legs shaking, as I’ll let my fingertips caress your collarbone, down your breasts. You still moaning, while your brain slowly turns to mush, trying to find hold on the bedsheets. I want you to feel so much how much I want you to be completely mine. Making your back arch as my hands trail over your stomach down to your inner thighs and my fingers slip into you. You’ll be under me, crying out in pleasure, not being able to process the feeling my upwards curled fingers will rise in you. My moans against your overstimulated bud will find it‘s way in electric shocks upwards your spine and explode in your head. You‘ll return them with crying out my name in every thrust I do, while your pussy will tighten around my fingers. Your brain won’t be able to understand why you’ll be moaning my name over and over, falling off your lips like a prayer. Until you forget what is really happening here. And still my fingers be mercilessly fucking into you, I’ll be flicking my tongue all over your clit, until you release all over my mouth, your lungs not even able anymore to find the air they need to keep your body function. Making your body a complete mess under me. I want you to ride my thigh so bad.

The impact of climate change on our community
As days passes it is already evident to us that the world's climate is changing, those changes create new health risk for the people in our community that can threaten their very lives in which those elderly, children, and pregnant women are greatly affected.
Tumblr media
what are the changes and challenges that climate change had for us? The impacts of climate change are widespread and profound, encompassing a range of phenomena such as more frequent and severe extreme weather events like…
*floods *droughts
as well as alterations to…
*ocean temperature *acidity *sea level
how is climate change affecting our community?
Changes in climate means our community needs to prepare for the health risk that a rise in temperature may bring. Extreme heat can lead to heat stroke, dehydration, and even death. Everyone is at risk but there are some that are more prone or vulnerable which are the pregnant women, elderly, children, and athletes.
Climate change also affects our community by disrupting our food supply through drought, severe storms, flash flood which also affects the communities function and damages to private or public property. A wildfire which is caused by an intense drought can set trees ablaze and worsens our air quality which is bad for young children, people with asthma or other respiratory conditions, older adults, and those people with compromised immune system
Tumblr media
What can we people do to mitigate the effects of climate change?
if you want to get involved in improving our climate for the good of our community in anyway, here are some things that anyone can do to improve our environment
Conserve Energy When we use energy in a society that depends on fossil fuels, it produces greenhouse gas emissions. Even clean energy sources cause some harm to the environment. Therefore, it's important to find ways to use less energy. when it's time to buy or replace appliances make sure to buy the most energy efficient one you can afford
Plant or restore forest Planting and restoring forest is important since trees produce oxygen which us humans breath, trees serve as an habitat for some animals to live on, they're not only important for producing oxygen and serving as habitats, they're also important for their ability to prevent flood, soil erosion, and reduces temperature
Changing transportation Reduce the use of fossil fuels or non-renewable fuels for transportation. Walking or biking is better than using transportation as it can serve as an exercise which help people to becoming fit. a community that walks or bike is better than a community that uses transportation and filling up a whole road resulting to traffic.
Switch to low carbon energy source low carbon energy source such as wind, solar, hydro, and nuclear power. These low carbon energy source produces the least green house emissions, the use of this energy resources would significantly slow down the advance of climate change
In conclusion, conserving energy is crucial for the health of our planet and our society. By making simple changes like buying energy-efficient appliances, planting or restoring forests, changing transportation habits, and switching to low-carbon energy sources, we can all play a part in reducing our carbon footprint and preserving the environment for future generations. It's important to remember that even small actions can have a significant impact when it comes to sustainability, and we all have a role to play in creating a cleaner and greener world.

Donating to non-profit organizations can have a positive impact on society and the world as a whole. Here are some reasons why it is good to donate to non-profit organizations such as Toase Development Association, a charity organization in Tucker, Georgia that extends its hands to people around.
