Costa Coffee puts up mural celebrating transgender man
Tumblr media
A Costa Coffee mural depicting a trans-masculine person with top surgery scars is a “breath of fresh air” in a time when trans rights are under attack, says artist Fox Fisher to Pink News.
Costa, Britain's largest coffee chain, explains that they "want everyone that interacts with us to experience the inclusive environment that we create, to encourage people to feel welcomed, free and unashamedly proud to be themselves. The mural, in its entirety, showcases and celebrates inclusively.”
The fact that they do this in this year of transphobic hysteria gives them credit.
Needless to say transphobes are calling for a boycott of Costa, using the opportunity to present life saving top surgery as a mutilation.
Eli Erlick writes over at twitter: Even if you hate trans people, how do you think cis cancer survivors feel when you call their mastectomy scars “mutilation”?
Fox Fisher puts it this way:
“To some, it might seem that top surgery scars are horrific, but to those who have it, it’s a sign of liberation. “For me, having top surgery 12 years ago was an act of self-love and I’m grateful every day for taking the steps to give myself more euphoria on a daily basis, every time I pull on a t-shirt without having to wear a binder.”

Terfs in the UK saying they are gonna boycott Costa Coffee because in one of their cartoon adverts they had an image of a trans man.
The transphobia this country has is fucking disgusting and is fucking shameful. Trans people exist, they deserve to be included and respected for who they are.

Studying...gone wrong
(not click bait lol)
Today I had a study session with my buddy @claykitty-studyblog!! It was awesome! We had so much fun and laughed a bunch (which got us in trouble lol). We almost got kicked out the Costa Cafe not by the staff but by a fellow customer. We were left flabbergasted...
Anyways, here are some pics from today.

Calling gender confirming surgeries "self harm" makes as much sense as criticizing cis men for having vasectomies.
Gender affirming health care, objectively, saves lives. Just like having control of our reproductive health saves lives.
Bodily. Autonomy. Is. For. Every. Body.

Map (2-13-24)
"Guys!" Costa ran back to the group, eagerness written across their face. They hopped from foot to foot, vibrating with excitement. "I found something!"
The rest of the small group, Publix, Nokia, Aldi, Subway, and Walmart, were crowded around Waffle House as he mapped out the group's route thus far.
At Costa's mention of finding something, the group's attention turned to them, a murmur of excitement moving through the group.
Publix shot to her feet, ecstatic.
"Well, what're we waiting for?" She grinned. "Lead the way Costa!"
They grinned, and headed down the trail, the rest of the group following them. Waffle House took up the rear, moving slowly as he continued mapping out the route.
Costa led the small group down the trail they discovered, excited as they went from jogging to sprinting. After some time, they skidded to a stop, waiting for the others to catch up.
Eagerly they turned to face the group.
"What do you think?" Costa asked.
"I think it's great!" Publix grinned, giving them a thumbs-up, and Costa grinned.

Conservatives always talk about the youth being "snowflakes" but as soon a drawing of a trans man on a costa coffee and a trans influencer sponsoring bud light is enough to send them boycotting

More fun in honour of Dilandau's birthday! Drink Costa Coffee, or else Dilandau will incinerate your village!
If you're in the UK you might be aware of the recent kerfuffle about an ad for Costa Coffee which features a transman character with visible top surgery scars. Some people don't like to see this kind of thing in mainstream advertising and there's been a lot of controversy about it being offensive to people who've had mastectomies for other reasons like breast cancer. Personally I'm fine with it but I can see why it may be controversial.
Here's my solution - put Dilandau in the ad instead! It shows gender diversity and makes potential customers think they'll be as cool as Dilandau if they drink Costa Coffee (which is actually a lot better than Starbucks IMHO).
My meme features official concept art of Dilandau with edits done in Canva.
Here is the original ad if anyone is curious... I want to know why he's surfing and drinking a Costa at the same time.
