Hiiii!! I love these rare moments when Thena successfully cooks/bakes something for Gil! So how about she make something for him and it turns out good??
I think it would fit for the Bodyguard AU. If you think it would fit into another AU better please do it!
"Thena?"
Gil walked into the apartment, smelling...quite a few things, really. First and foremost, he could smell the evidence of something burning, which was his main concern.
Thena had told him not to bring food with him when he came over today. Apparently she was 'trying something'. He was pretty sure he had never seen her so much as attempt to use her fancy penthouse kitchen, so he wasn't entirely sure what she was 'trying'.
But she sounded excited, and that alone made him agree to it.
"What, uh," he blinked, on the verge of laughing when he arrived a true disaster in her stunning kitchen. There were bowls and failed attempts still in pans strewn everywhere. That was that weird burnt smell. He smirked, "is going on here?"
"Gil!" Thena emerged from behind the countertop with a bright smile. Her hair was pulled back and there was evidence of stuff all over her flawless skin. But she seemed positively elated to see him. "I'm so glad you're here!"
It was such a simple statement, but it really made his heart start flip-flopping around in his chest with glee. He shirked off his bomber jacket and laid it over the back of one of the counter chairs. "Is this what you've been up to?"
"Okay," she sighed, turning back to the stove.
It was going to take hours to get this place looking presentable again.
"I remember you telling me that you hum in the kitchen because your grandmother would," she narrated as she stirred the pot of...something. "Aren't some of your favourite recipes from her?"
"Uh, yeah," Gil blinked as Thena offered him sparing and fleeting looks over her shoulder as she tasted her creation. He had mentioned it, ever so briefly in passing. He didn't think she had remembered it.
"Well, my grandmother also made me most of my meals in childhood."
Gil blinked; Thena had never brought up her family before. Not much was known about them, and certainly she had never even so much as mentioned them.
"She was quite a good cook, or perhaps everyone else in my family was just so bad that she was the lesser of evils," Thena continued to talk as she added the very last dash of salt to the pot before turning off the burner. "She used to make us a soup called Ukha."
Gil had read about it--Russian or maybe Slavic in origin? It was a fish stew. He raised his brow, "fish?"
"I know," she sighed, finally turning to him and tossing away her hand towel. She tilted her head, "I knew you would catch that."
He chuckled, holding up his hands in surrender, "I'm just saying--you always have some complaint when I make fish for you."
"Because I used to eat Ukha all the time!" she huffed, rolling her eyes. He had never seen this particular light in her eyes, before. But it was quite similar to when she was particularly pleased with her latest performance.
It was pride.
Gil inhaled reflexively as she pushed the bowl in front of him. It was a semi-clear broth, probably a seafood stock, although it didn't smell super fishy. There were large, uneven chunks of carrots and potatoes and onions, and some very whole herbs that probably could have been ground up finer.
It was beautiful.
"You said you were still a little bit stuffy after being sick," she murmured more sheepishly now, toying with the apron she had on over her clothes (an apron he had bought her, since of course she didn't own one before). "I know you like soup--and it's rather hard to mess up broth. So, I thought... "
"It's great!"
Thena sighed at him, "you haven't even tasted it!"
He didn't care. It looked beautiful, and the hopeful eagerness on Thena's face said a thousand words. He picked the bowl up and took a deep, loud slurp.
"Gil!"
He made a nice loud 'ahh' sound too, as if he had taken a deep swig of beer after a hard day. But really...it wasn't bad. It was maybe a little over-seasoned, too many flavours battling it out for dominance. Even after her last dash of salt it could probably use more. He would guess that some of the larger veg pieces might be a little under done in texture.
But none of that mattered because it was the best thing he had ever eaten. "It's not bad."
"Really?"
He smiled, genuinely eager to offer his praise of the simple white fish stew. "I bet your grandma would be proud."
Thena blinked, her eyes going glassy. She sniffled, turning back to the pot for herself. "Well, I wanted to do something for you. Especially since I meant to, and then..."
She was referring to when she came over to his place to take care of him while he was sick and then fell asleep on his bed. He had eventually gotten up and made some miso soup for the both of them, much to Thena's embarrassment and frustration.
"Come on," he chuckled, taking a more civilised spoonful of soup. Actually, it was pretty good on his second taste of it. She had actually cooked the fish just right, which was probably the hardest part of things.
"Hm," she mused, taking only a few spoonfuls for herself in a small tasting bowl. "I suppose I've made much worse."
"It's good," he assuaged, although she still seemed to be ignoring his open praise of it. He tilted his head to try and get a better look at her, "careful, Thena."
She tilted her head at him as well.
"You'll get me hooked on this stuff. Then I'll be asking you to make it for me all the time."
She rolled her eyes at him, now more flustered over his warm reception of her first successful meal attempt. "You will not."
"Why not?" he shrugged, taking another spoonful and chewing the fish. It was actually nice and soft, almost...buttery? His eyes dashed over to the counters again and he spied one of the pans with what was definitely burned butter crusted onto the bottom. That was the smell; she had taken a few tries to get the fish butter basted before adding it to the soup. It was a nice touch, though.
"How are you feeling, by the way?" she peeked up at him, still somewhat shy from his open adoration.
He sniffed the soup again, letting its heavy dill and tarragon scent push through his sinuses. "Much better, now."

Yeto's Superb Soup
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We made Yeto's soup!! This soup is full of love! And goat cheese! Highly recommend, astonishingly tasty -- warm, creamy, mild, soothing.
Makes about 6 servings.
In a large pot:
1 butternut squash (peeled & diced small)
1 large yukon gold potato or similar (diced larger)
1 yellow or white onion (diced fine)
smallish chunk of ginger (minced)
~4 cloves garlic (minced)
Large pinch of thyme
Dash of salt and pepper
Water to cover
Bring to a simmer and keep simmering 30min or until veg is soft.
Give it a heavy stir or whisk to break up the chunks; exact texture is up to you!
Add:
1 lb salmon fillet (skin off, chunks ~spoon size)
Simmer another 20min or so. In that time, add:
Generous splash or two of heavy cream
6oz or so plain goat cheese, broken up and stirred around so everything mixes
More salt & pepper to taste
This is basically a chowder and can definitely be adjusted to taste! We had it with garlic butter croutons and that was super tasty -- cannot overstate how shockingly delicious it is. Yeto was right, love is stored in the soup ♥

Taco Soup
Okay this isn't whump but @whump-captain wanted my taco soup recipe so here it is. It's a one pot dish, and it'll feed either three hungry guys for a few days or all my very spice intolerant coworkers for one luncheon if I go easy on the spice
Ingredients: -3 cans of whatever beans you like, go nuts, add more, it's your soup. Maybe go low sodium tho -minced garlic, you know how much you like, measure with your heart, I usually do like 5 cloves -2-3 taco seasoning packets (or cumin, chili powder, onion powder, pepper, garlic salt to taste) -2 bags of frozen bell peppers and onions (or fresh) -jalepenos from a jar if you want em or some other spicier pepper -cooking vinegar OR the juice from your jarred peppers OR tabasco, you just want acidity towards the end if it doesn't taste salty enough or seems like it's Missing Something -lime juice -A good box of chicken or veg stock/broth or like ten boullion cubes. However you make your broth is fine, just make however much you want (we add the broth last, so you can wait and eyeball it. This soup cannot be overcooked, I promise) -Cooked chicken if you want it, I use canned or leftover baked chicken but it's not necessary -Butter or some other fat -if you like it on your tacos, add it tbh. Corn? Fuck yeah. Tomatoes? Sure why not. Live your soup dreams.
OKAY SO HERE'S WHAT YOU DO: -Heat up the pot you'll be souping in to medium-high, throw in the butter/fat and let that melt -Then add the (ideally thawed but it doesn't really matter here if you don't have the energy) onions and bell peppers in. Let that get all soft and translucent then add the garlic. -Let that get all warm and aromatic for about thirty seconds to a minute, then if you're crazy and want to cook the peppers do that at this point, then add anything else you want that'll be warm and in the soup. -Add in your meat if you want it in here, it should be cooked already so we're just making the flavors mingle -Add your beans, don't bother draining them. -Add the taco seasoning, mix it in -Add your broth. -Let it simmer like ten minutes, adjust the seasoning as it does and add your lime juice and any other little dashes you want, follow your nose.
It's pretty much done since everything is fully cooked, it's just a matter of warming and seasoning it at this point. You can make it as thick or thin as you want, serve it over rice or anything else that makes you happy, add sour cream or salsa or avocado or guac, if it sounds good on a taco then do it!

For many Jews, eating potato latkes on Hanukkah is non-negotiable, whether store-bought or made from scratch. But what should we be eating with them?
I’m not talking about the old applesauce vs. sour cream debate (I’m team neither), or about nibbling on a latke while holding a glass of bubbly at a chic Hanukkah soiree (I’m team exhausted mom in bed by 9). I’m talking about practical, everyday stuff: How can latkes be incorporated into a balanced, filling, seasonal meal that won’t leave you nauseous?
The answer was harder to find than I’d anticipated; most people I asked were similarly stumped.
After much contemplation, research and a deep-dive into The Nosher’s Hanukkah archives, here are 13 ways to turn latkes into a complete meal — from the centerpiece of a festive breakfast to a side dish alongside classic brisket.
Crockpot Sweet and Sour Brisket
Throw this together in the morning before work and let the promise of a hearty dinner get you through your day. Make sure to let the flavorful gravy soak into your latkes.
French Onion Brisket
Drawing inspiration from French onion soup, this modern twist on a classic braised brisket is even better when it’s made a day ahead. Serve with your favorite steamed veg.
Juicy Instant Pot Brisket
Tender, sweet-and-savory brisket that’s ready in two hours. The best use for your Instant Pot.
Perfect Roast Chicken
All the secrets, straight from a bubbe’s mouth.
Quick Skillet Roast Chicken
An easy one-skillet chicken for the soul, complete with veggies. Let the latkes soak up all the schmaltzy pan drippings.
Za’atar Fried Chicken with Spicy Thyme Honey
Why not go all in and match fried with fried? Hanukkah fare doesn’t get much better than this herby, succulent, shatteringly crisp fried chicken.
Roast Goose
Hear me out! Decadent, golden roast goose is a long-forgotten Hanukkah tradition from the Middle Ages, but the flavors more than hold up today.
Israeli-Style Turkey Pastrami
Salty, sweet, spiced and ready in a flash. Serve warm, sliced, with mustard and a salad. I recommend this mayo-free Russian health salad for optimal crunch.
Latke Deli Sandwiches
Sub the rye bread in your favorite deli sandwich for two latkes for the ultimate Hanukkah treat. Warning: not for the fainthearted.
Latke Hotdish
A twist on the beloved casserole from the Upper Midwest, this hotdish is topped with mini latkes instead of tater tots. Filled with brisket and a whole load of veg, this is a great way to feed a crowd.
Everything Bagel Latkes
Aka breakfast latkes. You can’t go wrong with topping your latkes with dill-y, lemony cream cheese, lox and everything bagel seasoning. Poached egg optional, but encouraged.
Latke Poutine
Inspired by New York’s Mile End Deli circa 2017, top your latkes with cheese curds and gravy a la classic Canadian poutine. The real miracle of Hanukkah.
Latke Board
A festive take on hot girl dinner (or post-school snack time), this board proves that it only takes a few store-bought additions to turn latkes into an entire meal.

HELLO I HEAR YOU WANTED BEAN RECIPES
ahem
Anyways these are some of my favorites
Spinach White Bean Enchiladas from Budget Bytes
I usually don't bother with the sauce on these and just make them with green enchilada sauce because I'm lazy. They also make a great quesadilla filling!
Best Lentil Soup from Cookie and Kate
I have had so many meh lentil soups and this one really stood out to me, though of course there's always personal taste involved!
Smoky Black Bean Beet Burgers from Minimalist Baker
I personally find about 1/3 cup of mix is the right amount for 1 burger
And a couple personal "recipes":
Baked Sweet Potato + Black Beans + Queso Fresco and/or Sour Cream + Pico de Gallo + Fried Egg (optional)
Polenta + Black Beans + Sauteed Kale w/Garlic + Tempeh/Tofu/Chicken w/BBQ Sauce (good with side of cherry tomatoes)
Roasted Root Veg (Carrots, Beets, Squash, etc) + White Beans + Italian Dressing (serve with bread or grain for added heft)
Hope at least one of these sparks a tasty meal in your future!
Ooh, thank you! I'm publishing these for other bean lovers to enjoy this autumn and winter, and will absolutely give some of these a try!

what are some of the recipes witch angeal has made from his "family recipe" book? any fam favorites? any faves the boys have?
hello! I'm so sorry its taken me so long to answer, I've literally been agonising over Recipes trying to figure out what Goth Witch Angeal would bake 😆.
(I will say that insporation for much of this comes from Sweeny Todd, the curious creations of Christine McConnel and a handfull of Grims Fairytales.)
Okay, so Angeals Go to recipe is meat pie. The thing about this AU is I like towing the line between fantasy and realism with these Characterisations, so you never really know whether they are just Goth and Wiccan or actual storybook witches.
The meat pie started as a joke to scare the local church goers. in the early days of Gen and Angeals relationship, Angeal grudgingly went to church with Genesis in order to "present themselves properly" to the community. Genesis Grew up Catholic, and He is actually still quite religious in a rather hethenistic "Chriso-pagan" kind of way... The crusifix shaped scar at his Clavical that he's had for over 200- I mean... 2 years doesn't seem to deter him from standing on hallowed ground.
They'd been invited to a pot luck, and the woman that had extended it to them had done so incredibly passive agressivly. people like that grated on Angeal... so he'd turned to Mimsy (the recipe book) who immidiatly flipped to the page on meat pie.
To this day the people of the church don't know whether they ate human flesh or not...
The Fam as some more "normal" faves:
Angeals recipe for tri-chocolate brownies is Zacks favorite
Edger is a big fan of both his seed loaf and his mouse mix (its exactly what you think)
Genesis is fond of his Red velvet Cake. he does not use food dye to colour it red. do with that information what you will.
Sephiroth adores his Sea food Risotto, as well as literally anything with Chocolate in it. If anyone ever left Sephiroth in the woods, the only reason he wouldn't get eaten by the witch in the gingerbread house is because he too is a witch.
Cloud would eat Angeals Harvest special Pumpkin pie for every meal for the rest of his life if he could. allas Angeal will not let him.
food traditions include:
Angeals secret Ham recipe (no you may not know) at Yule. They don't eat turkey for many reasons. the main one being Zack complains it sucks allthe moisture out of his mouth. the second main one being Genesis prefers his meat extremely rare... for reasons.
During Imbolc they tend to eat deviled eggs until Zack hits food coma status. once he starts he can't stop.
During Litha they eat Honey cakes Which are some of Angeals personal favorites. usually this is with homemade mead or elderflower wine.
Mabon is all about soup. mostly pumpkin, sometimes carrot. Angela will absoloutly admit to getting the pumpkin soup recipe from a childrens book.
Samhain is all about spice and warmth, so Chillies, and Stews, and cornbreads, and soups and all kinds of things. There is also a lot of Pomigranits involved. Cloud seems to like sitting on the kitchen counter, feeding everyone who passes the seeds. Thats why They all refer to them as their personal persephony.
Beltane is again all about the Honey as well as fresh fruit and veg. Strawbery cream cake must be consumed. it is the law. And Angeal is 100% aware it is an aphrodesiac, thats why he bakes it. feeding Sephiroth strawberries is always fun.

last night i made ginger carrot mushroom dumplings with dumpling sauce, sour spicy cold noodles, tomato egg drop soup with tofu and some carrot slaw as well as the BA (archived, no clicks) french yogurt cake. everybody got seconds of everything 🥰
dumplings: i don’t think i’ll bother making the dough from scratch again, made it kind of ugly, but batched dumplings is a totally perfect meal for me to prep and it may become my signature. i am always looking for the best stuff i can mostly prep ahead to lower day-of hosting stress, which this menu achieved really well. as for the filling, i improvised the mushroom sub for meat and it was fine but i would have preferred tofu. the finely grated carrot was amazing and i can’t wait to put that in other kinds of dumplings (ravioli, pierogi, DONUTS??)
dumpling sauce: black vinegar for a dumpling is probably close to my favorite thing to eat on earth but i’m still calibrating my favorite way to do it. i hewed pretty close to the CJ eats but ended up adding twice the vinegar to my own (and it was too salty for me). i made a jar of this then put out all the condiments and gave everyone dishes to mix up what they wanted and this worked great.
noodles: i did woks of life exactly for this, with the spaghetti. i’d prefer more heat and a black vinegar instead, but i will eat this all the time forever. currently having leftovers for lunch. if you come to my holidays look forward to cold spaghetti forever!
soup: i’ve really been trying to learn more soups that start from something other than onions, and i love chinese cooking for that, but it can sometimes be hard to cook meatless. i love how fast chinese soups can come together without meat, and i love the approach of adding a little liquid to a liquid to build a broth—can be very different from euro canon and has helped me learn better instincts. i talked to a vietnamese friend and she suggested getting into rice porridges for guests, great idea. my thing is i always want a vegetarian soup for everybody, and i think vegetarians get fed the same flavor profiles over and over again, and i really love tofu and want to treat veg eaters to really good preparations of tofu grounded in where tofu comes from, which happens to also be my favorite cuisine. so i have to get good at it! but this soup was Not Good to me until i put that egg in and some sesame oil on top. truly trust the process i guess!
i had thought about frying tofu for this meal but it would have been too much. i think with the dipping sauce setup i would have preferred to have two types of things to dip though.
carrot slaw was a last minute addition because i didn’t think i had enough food and it wasn’t as good as it is when i pickle it. the carrots this month have been truly divine.
cake: this was good and easy but probably missing the effortlessness of the french yogurt cake. would like to try again with french instead of greek yogurt (what i had). what is it about BA that they’re like what if you made a cake that tasted like oil? my house SMELLED like CANOLA OIL and i found it offputting. they’re gonna have us doing vegetable oil drizzles on ice cream in june i swear to god

Decided to make this one purely because I had stewing beef in my freezer. I always thought goulash was more of a pork dish, to be honest.
Tumblr media
I had to go to two different grocery stores to find that fucking parsnip.
While searing off the beef, the fond on the bottom of my pot was getting real dark. Halfway through cooking the onions I realized the fond was too burnt and too stuck on. I dumped the onions into a bowl and boiled some water in the pot to get the fond off, and lemme tell you. It was black. There's no way that would've been good if I continued to cook with it.
I thought I had jinxed myself a bit, but got the onions back in the pot and back to it.
Tumblr media
The caraway seeds and Hungarian paprika together smell great. I bet my apartment is going to smell like goulash for a couple days.
Tumblr media
I fuckin' hate green peppers. They're only added in the last 5 minutes of cooking, so I was worried it would overwhelm the whole thing with green pepper flavour. But it didn't!
Tumblr media
Country style sourdough bread, and a dollop of sour cream. Pretty simple. This has a very buttery aroma, and there's no butter in it. I think it must be a combo of the beef and sour cream.
Deliciously thick, even though it's made with water, not stock, and nothing to thicken it besides vegetables. Really surprised with how this one turned out. Like, really.
| Goulash |
Taste is a 4.5 out of 5. My highest rating so far. Not lying when I said I was surprised.
Difficulty is a 2 out of 5. Soup is easy.
Time was 2 hours. That includes the time it took to dice up all that veg.
Easy to make, and pretty damn good for what is essentially just a soup. My only tips would be to make sure you find real Hungarian sweet paprika, and blanch your plum tomatoes for a minute to get the skin off easier.

✎ Life has me by the throat so why not write the reader play just dance with tendou?
Tumblr media
⪧ Tendou Satori
The infectious laughter bubbling from Tendou's lips as he stomped around in the sitting room waving his hands wildly as he belted out the lyrics to some song neither of you knew, but he was giving it his all. A smile tugged at your face as you sniffled slightly, the sting of tears threatening to spill from your eyes lessening the more you watched Tendou make a fool of himself. Standing you dropped the fuzzy blanket you had sought comfort from into a heap on the sofa as Tendou slipped his hand into your own with the controller mushed between both of your palms. Before you could protest over him smearing his sweaty hand all over your clammy post cry hand he had slipped his other arm loosely around your waist as he swung the two of you around like a maniac with a wild grin on his face.
Tendou and you stumbled around in a messy recreation of a waltz as the game went forgotten aside from the occasional vibrations emanating from the controller mushed between your joined hands. Laughter bubbled through the now warm air of the sitting room as Tendou swung his body about dragging you with him in your wild embrace as he got more into the dance, a wide grin on both of your faces. It was bliss, the thing that had been bothering you for the majority of the morning to the point you had sobbed and sniffled in a heap on the sofa with a comfortable blanket wrapped around your body. Thankfully though there was one lanky dork who always knew how to make you smile and forget your worries.
⪧ Miya Osamu
You couldn't help the small smile that tugged at the corners of your mouth as you spooned another mouthful of soup past your lips. Gulping down the warm veg filled broth your teary eyed gaze wandered over back to Osamu as he gulped down his own meal. Life had been wild the past few weeks the stress was getting to you, and you knew eating wasn't exactly a healthy way to deal with something as serious as stress, but sometimes a simple meal or a specific snack was all someone needed to brighten their day... And Osamu knew exactly what to do at those times. Food was his love language after all and it was also some way for him to show that despite his sometimes blunt comments he still saw your emotions as important and wanted what was best for you.
When your spoon tinked against the bottom of your bowl Osamu was quick to scoop up the dish and drop it in the sink before he sat a mug of tea on the table with just the right amount of add ins mixed into the drink for your liking. He didn't say anything about the puffiness of your eyelids or the sore cream you had spread on your nose after using an abrasive tissue for so long earlier. He did however lean down and press a kiss to your cheek as he mumbled out against your skin with a sly grin as you poked your tongue out and chirped about the tea being too hot.
"You're such a weenie." He teased which had you grinning as well as you lightly swatted at him from your seated position.
⪧ Kita Shinsuke
Kita knew what it was like to have jarring and sometimes harsh comments thrown one's way. He had been called many things, but they never bothered him all that much at the end of the day... Though when you ended up curled under a blanket on your shared bed as your eyes grew glossy the longer you stared unblinking at Kita it made his heart throb for you. With clenched hands and and aching heart he trudged down the hall and away from the bedroom the moment tears dripped from your eyes and down your cheeks. A large part of his mind screamed at him to go back and comfort you, but Kita knew you needed something more than simply him holding you as you cried over the harsh jabs your peers had spewed earlier that day.
Returning to your bedroom Kita sat down on the side of the bed as he rifled through the convince store bag searching for the thing he had bought you alongside your favourite snacks. A small noise bubbled from Kita's chest when your blanket wrapped form squished against him as you sought comfort. Turning he cupped your cheek with one hand as he used one of the wet wipes he had purchased to gently clean your tear streaked cheeks and sooth the irritated skin of your nose. Leaning forward he pressed a kiss to your forehead before he let you drag him down flat onto the bed so the two of you could cuddle and momentarily forget the world.
⪧ Ojiro Aran
Aran normally knew exactly what to do in these types of situations, but not when it was his partner sobbing in the car at the mere thought of having to attend a banquet. Reaching a hand out Aran slipped his fingers between your own and tugged your hand towards his mouth as he pressed a kiss to your skin. As his lips lingered he tried to decipher what could have possibly caused this. What had gone wrong and how could he prevent it from happening in the future so he could keep you content... If he could even prevent whatever it is that had caused you so much distress. Letting his hand drop he kept his grasp on your hand firm as he spoke in a soft voice, one he would normally reserve for when he's confessing his love for you late at night. "Hey sweets, want to talk about what upset you?"
The air in the car grew silent and still as you sniffled one last time teary eyes skirting upwards to gaze into Aran's warm concerned orbs as you mumbled out your reply almost embarrassed. "It's dumb, but I was so worried about embarrassing you tonight I just got overwhelmed."
"It's not dumb. Everyone worries about stuff and everyone cries, you just needed to relieve some stress and worry so don't apologize over that." His response was swift and confident as both of his hands moved to cup your cheeks as he gently turned your face to the side slightly so he could press a kiss to your temple.
"Besides how can I be embarrassed with such a cutie on my arm. Everyone will be jealous." Aran teased lightly which earned a bout of laughter from you.

Just a tomato soup recipe. That's it. That's the post.
I really like Panera's tomato soup, and my family has a couple hundred cans of home-canned tomatoes (don't worry about it), so I figured I could probably find a good copycat recipe for the panera one and use some of our small-village's-worth-of-tomatoes. And I did, but it called for no spices and 28 oz cans (which I don't have. I have 16 oz cans), so I just altered the recipe AND IT SLAPS. under cut for all of your tomato soup needs. It was bright and acidic, which I like in tomato soups, and surprisingly light. Not the murky, heavy, super thick type of soup, though those can slap, too. Also, I don't cook. I'm not great at it, but this was easy enough for me and therefore probably you too!

INGREDIENTS
4 16-oz cans of tomatoes (recipe called for 2 28-oz cans of san marzano tomatoes. I used more tomato than it called for, and also I have no clue what kind of tomato I used) 1/4 cup heavy cream 1 TBSP sugar 1 onion 4 cloves of garlic (or, if you're like me, 4 cubes of the little frozen ones WHICH ARE GOOD, BY THE WAY. I try to use fresh when I can, but the little frozen garlic cubes are actually great). 1 cup chicken/veg stock
Unmeasured (use your soul): Basil (it called for eight fresh leaves, which... it is January, and I don't have, so I used the dry stuff. Use fresh if you have it, I guess, but it's totally fine with dry.) Oregano Salt Optional unmeasured stuff (the recipe called for NO SPICES which I don't vibe with): Garam Masala Smoked Paprika Allspice Nutmeg (which is in allspice I think, but I like nutmeg) Little bit of cayenne
INSTRUCTIONS: Heat a stovetop at medium/high heat and toss in the olive oil, chopped onion (can be lazily chopped, dw about it, it's all getting blended later anyways), and garlic. Let the onion get all transluscenty.
Then, lower the heat to medium and add the cream, sugar, and tomatoes. Leave it on the stovetop for like twenty minutes or so, stirring.
Then add the spices and herbs and remaining stuff and let it sit there for another ten minutes or so, I don't think it matters that much frankly. I let it sit and I stirred it for another 15 mins while I cleaned the stray onion bits I accidentally got everywhere.
Note, it's gonna be all chunky and weird at this stage, dw about it. It's fine.

Then, I let it cool for an hour with the lid on, off the burner. Once the soup was cool, I put it in the blender and blended it, reheated it back in the same pan I cooked it in, and SOUP ACHIEVED! PLEASEE lmk if anyone tries this!

Mamì Vida’s Taco Soup Recipe;
This is my mami’s taco soup recipe, I’m just veganizing it for this recipe but follow it to your own liking.
This is made in a crockpot/slow cooker. It cooks for five hours on high then around 4-8 on low, basically let cook all day while you’re at work or something.
Browned ground beef or cooked chicken seasoned with taco seasoning(if you’re veg use impossible beef or chicken)
Add two cans of stew tomatoes, two cans of drained black beans, two-three cans of drained corn, one can of rotel chilies, and the meat to the crockpot.
Top it with cheese, sour cream, avocado, hot sauce, tortilla chips basically anything you like it’s super good.
