LoveSick!Athlete can really mold and mend well with most personalities and darlings, this is due to his manipulative personality. A little off-topic, but he really has a hard time understanding who he is because he's always pretending to be what others deem "acceptable". This causes him to have a multitude of identity crises, but when his darling, you, comes into the picture, it makes it easier for him to find himself. He feels like he's the real him whenever he's with you. You just feel so natural, he feels natural, too. It's just right.

And for that reason, I think LoveSick!Athlete would go really well with a childhood!reader, seeing as she's been with him since they were young. And, I'm not too sure if you've read my Yan!Alphabet for him, but I mention LoveSick!Athlete's childhood; let's just say it wasn't the best situation for a kid.

LoveSick!Athlete would feel a special bond with his darling now, seeing as they've been together threw thick and thin. He's trama bounded to you, and you to him. We'll run off the assumption that reader has also had a bad childhood, whether it be an absent parent, abusive sibling/family member/or parent, whatever it is allows you to feel a connection to LoveSick!Athlete, seeing as you have a mutual situation. You both have something to bond over, something that locks you together.

He has a bad home environment, you have a bad home environment. He doesn't feel at home, so you become his home, and he to you.

And I like to run on the assumption that reader is all talk, no bite. And if you've read any of my writing where the reader talks, you'll see that I prefer to write reader as more "real" (to me anyway) because I'm personally not the hugest fan of the "helpless" reader. I like to write a darling who has a mouth, someone who's bratty (but that's 'cause I'm a brat lol).

Anyway, I'm getting off-topic, back to LoveSick!Athlete.

To your idea about a snarky reader, I totally agree. Honestly, LoveSick!Athlete would eat that shit up, no joke. He would love it, as he enjoys the back-and-forth between you two. He loves to press your buttons, wanting to see what sarcastic reply you have ready for him.

The thing is, he knows your just talking shit, never willing to actually do anything. You just run your mouth, and he lets you, but whenever you step outta line, sometimes, he's gotta put you back. Though, you'll never think of it like that. No, no, he's too sweet for that. He's gotta keep that golden retriever vibe going, y'know?

He just swat you on the ass, telling you that you got such a dirty mouth, mamas? I thought you were my little princess, no? Girls with a face like yours shouldn't be speakin' that like-

He'll just move on, as if he didn't just grope your butt, nope, not at all. And you'll be standing there awestruck, face red, and biting your tongue as you try to not overheat in embarrassment!!

It never ceases to entertain him, watching your face widen with surprise whenever he refers to you as his girl, his cute little girlfriend. The way your face heats up when he wraps his strong arm around your waist, putting his cap on your head (a silent sign of possession over you, trying to get the guy in the back to keep his eyes to himself, but you don't need to know that ;)).

In your little monologue, you go over some cheerleader girl (named Cindy??). Though I would agree that chicks (and some dudes) practically flock around LoveSick!Athlete, I would say that he doesn't even pay them any mind, not even entertaining the thought. Don't get me wrong, he'll talk to them, but make it painstakingly clear that he's only got one girl on his mind, you.

Most of the time, the girl will just find it endearing, slapping his shoulder, and telling him that he'd make a great husband or some shit like that. Of course, the chicks joking, making some nice comments to leave the, now awkward, conversation, but LoveSick!Athlete will take it to heart. Now, he's imagining a pretty ring on your finger, something he paid for, he got you. Because he'd be such a good provider for you, don't you know?

Another thought, 'cause I'm on a role, but I'm not sure if I've directly said this or not, but LoveSick!Athlete is a hockey player. I've tried putting strickly hockey photos on all my posts (you should see my Pinterest feed, it's filled with hot guys lolol).

Hockey is an aggressive sport, I would know. I used to ice skate every day for an hour or two. And, trust me, I got to see a lot of hot guys, though I was always too nervous to say anything, that's beside the point.

I can imagine that reader would be the same, intimidated by these testastrone-filled, young men who just wanna get all sweaty and gross. And I prefer to think that reader also doesn't know how to skate, much to LoveSick!Athlete's enjoyment.

Just to torture you, he'll take you to his ice rink, partly wanting to show you off, and also wanting you to rely on him to move around. He won't even let you hold onto the side, nope, all you got is him, babes.

And anyone who's been to a rink before knows that if you're not on the wall, or smack in the middle of the rink, you're in traffic, especially if it's busy. And this means that you gotta go fast, keeping pace with everyone else. And there's always a handful of assholes (usually hockey players) who will purposefully do a hockey stop, flinging a shit tone of ice at newbies.

I imagine that this shit would happen all the time and LoveSick!Athete is enjoying it sm. He gets a rush every time you flinch, clinging onto him tighter, especially when the really fast skaters zoom by you, scaring the crap outta you.

And he won't let you go at your own pace, forcing you to follow his lead. This means you're going far too fast for comfort, leaning on him for support. You're arms wrapped around his bicep, which isn't recommended btw. Your cheek pressed against his arm, holding on for dear life.

You'll snap at him, telling him to shut up and stop enjoying this, you dork. I'm only clinging to 'cause I gotta!

And he'll just take it, giving you a lopsided smirk.

you have taken complete advantage of that promise, hence why you’re in his kitchen for the 3rd time that week, scraping the remaining ice cream from the bottom of the tub after yet another ruined hookup.

Maddy’s Top Five Favorite TMNT Episodes from Every Series!

Welcome to my ranking list! My first of many, hopefully! I even spiced things up and made it all fancy with the different font! 😂 god I’m getting old.

A while ago I made a PowerPoint presentation for fun about the history of the TMNT and the franchise. From that point it led to me gaining a spot in a YouTube video series discussing the movies leading up to the premier of Mutant Mayhem, and it’s been one of the best things to happen to me despite the terrible stuff I’ve gone through.

TMNT really saved me at the lowest point of my life in the winter of 2022. It inspired me to go back to Tumblr. I met and befriended incredibly talented people in this fandom. And I’ve found a reason to be happy again because of it. The pain of losing my big sister still aches, and I miss her more each passing day, but I know she’d tell me to get off my ass and do what made me happy.

So for my birthday this weekend, I’ll share this with you guys to celebrate something that brought me joy through all this pain. ❤️‍🩹

The episode had to have come from a current/ up to date show. It has to be fully completed!

The episodes have to catch my interest and the plot needs to be gripping! The angstier the better!

Any of the series episodes are candidates for a win! Except for certain ones that I’d rather not watch 🤣

SPOILERS BEWARE! Cuz… well, I dunno who’s finished the shows and I don’t wanna ruin the surprise for others!

Onto the list proper! Starting with the series that started it all: 1987!

The Maltese Hamster ( Season 3 Ep. 4 ) An excellent Donatello solo episode that takes the tone of a detective noir movie, but keeping the fun vibe of the show! Donnie gets to take center stage for once, April gets to use a laser gun, and the shift in tone sets the mood really well! It’s downright harrowing to watch a building collapse on Donnie and see him limping away from the scene in agony, passing out at Irma’s feet, trying to save his brothers despite the odds. Donnie’s my favorite turtle for a reason!

Raphael Meets His Match ( Season 4 Ep. 17 ) The first appearance of Mona Lisa, and I can see why the fans adore this ship so much! The chemistry between Mona and Raph throughout this one episode is really telling of how impactful one character can be to a franchise! Mona is really fun! She’s not just a token ‘girl character’ trope or an archetype, she can handle herself and kick ass alongside the turtles, plus she and Raph have some pretty witty banter together!

Beware The Lotus ( Season 3 Ep. 28 ) The introduction of Lotus Blossom! It’s speculated that the inspiration for Karai came from Lotus! Lotus and Leo had great chemistry together, it's a shame we only got two episodes to spend with her. She really is an interesting character with loads of story potential about finding your place in the world, discovering who you are, changing your destiny to make it what you want. This is me basically saying I am now part of the Lotus Blossom Fan Club.

Cowabunga, Shredhead! ( Season 3 Ep. 18 ) This is one of the fan favorite episodes, and after I watched it for the first time I could not stop laughing. James Avery does his best Mikey impression while playing the over the top Shredder, and everyone just accepts it??? It’s downright genius! The meme material from this one is plentiful!

Michelangelo Meets Mondo Gecko ( Season 5 Ep. 4 ) The introduction of Mondo himself, and he’s got a really cool design! On first viewing I was pleasantly surprised by his unique color scheme and his character! He’s a bad guy that gets a redemption arc by the end of the episode! I was rooting for him the whole time! It was this debut that made me adore Mondo, and he’s since become my favorite mutant character of the franchise!

Honorable Mentions are Donatello’s Duplicate and Turtlemaniac!

Next up is a controversial one, but I gotta be honest… ‘03 isn’t my favorite series for a lot of reasons, but I will admit! When this series had fantastic episodes, they were AMAZING. So I gotta give credit when due and give kudos to these wins!

The Shredder Strikes Back Parts One and Two ( Season 1 Episodes 17-18 ) Nothing really tops how good this show was in the first season, and these episodes take the comic storyline of Leo’s beatdown and bring it to life masterfully. For Leo’s segments of part one it’s spent mostly with no dialogue— the animation and music carrying how serious the scene is as Leo has to fight for his life against the Foot and how desperate he becomes as he grows weaker and weaker. The second episode is non-stop action as the rest of the turtles, Splinter, April and Casey have to fend off the Foot and Shredder as they fight for their lives in the antique shop. This is one of Michael Sinterniklass’s BEST performances as Leo in these episodes. The stakes are higher than ever before, the animation is gorgeous, and everyone gives it their all for this epic mid-season finale.

Same As It Never Was ( Season 3 Ep. 21 ) This is the episode I would tell people to watch if they think TMNT is just kiddie trash.

Bad Blood ( Season 6 Ep. 12 ) Probably the Fast Forward concept I wish got expanded on instead of giving it two standalone stories and dropping it entirely. It’s a cool idea that I wish got touched upon more often because, yeah, what would evil clones of the turtles look like? What kind of abilities could they have? There’s infinite possibilities! I could live without the new catchphrase ‘It's Ninja Time’ though. While Fast Forward is flawed, this episode was the one I thoroughly liked!

Insane in the Membrane ( Season 4 Ep. 19 ) The infamously banned episode, and all I have to say about it is two words. Holy. Shit.

The Real World Part One ( Season 3 Ep. 22 ) Any team-up with Usagi Yojimbo is a good one, and this was such a delight! It’s loosely based on one of the Usagi stories from the comics, and I loved how badass they made both Usagi and Tomoe! Leo and Usagi have great chemistry as always, and you can tell they have a strong bond with one another as warriors! Or boyfriends depending on how you interpret their relationship but honestly I totally see where everyone is coming from, THESE TWO ARE ADORABLE DORKS.

Next up is my all-time favorite incarnation of the franchise, 2012!! I have A LOT to say about so many of the episodes but alas, I could only choose five to discuss. One day… one day I shall make a thesis about it 🤣 for now however, here’s my top five faves from this series!

The Yojimbo Trilogy ( Season 5 Episodes 7-9 ) Oh. My. God. YES. The love letter to Stan Sakai’s comics, the beautiful homage to vintage Japanese cinema with the camera framework and action, and OH MY LORD, THE COLORS AND SHADING DURING USAGI’S FIGHT WITH JAY IN THE FINALE???? THAT’S CINEMA! Excellent voice acting by Yuki Matsuzaki, which was his first English speaking role and personally chosen by Sakai himself to play the ronin rabbit! My only complaint is that I wish we’d gotten more of the Yojimbo characters in here, like Tomoe or Gen! Otherwise I can watch all three of these episodes on repeat and always get excited!

Lone Rat and Cubs ( Season 5 Ep. 10 ) The final appearance of Splinter, the episode Kevin Eastman wrote, and a beautiful send-off to this character. It’s a flashback, yes, but this is the episode we get to see Yoshi adapting to his mutation as a rat, raising his boys, trying to be a good father and struggling to survive from the Krang. It’s a part of his life we rarely ever get to see, and this episode shows us why he was a great father. Basically it's a try not to cry challenge. For me, THIS episode is the series finale because it’s just a perfect conclusion to Splinter and his story.

Requiem/Owari ( Season 4 Episodes 25-26 ) The finale to the overall series, the finale to this overarching story, and it’s just as heartbreaking and suspenseful as you’d expect. The writers don't hold back their punches, and it shows that the gloves have finally come off. The characters we’ve come to love and care for are at their breaking point, the Shredder is the most threatening he’s ever been, and the team decides it’s time to put the monster down for good. Whoever thinks this show was just ‘kiddie trash’ needs to be sat down and shown this two-parter, because GODDAMN. Ciro Nieli treated this with so much care and respect. I cannot help but adore the team who put this together because the stakes have been raised to an all-time high, and the final showdown between Shredder and the turtles here is hair-raising, all reaching its climax when Leonardo finishes Oroku Saki by beheading him. It’s powerful, it’s devastating, and it’s a damn excellent showcase of why this series was the best iteration of the franchise to date.

The Fourfold Trap ( Season 3 Ep. 23 ) Yet another homage to a horror movie, only this time it’s a lot more intense. Based on Saw, this episode makes you sit on the edge of your seat as you can only hope that the turtles will escape the traps Karai’s put them in. It’s all nerve wracking to watch on a first viewing experience, POOR DONNIE OH MY GOD, CAN WE STOP PUTTING THIS BOY IN ELECTROCUTION DEVICES???? He still manages to create a plan to save his brothers even while he’s being electrocuted! Also, SPLINTER IS BEST RAT DAD. This episode will teach you the meaning of ‘angsty dread’ and ‘overwhelming anxiety.’

Trans-Dimensional Turtles ( Season 4 Ep. 10 ) THE TURTLES FOREVER WE DESERVED BUT WE DIDN'T GET UNTIL CIRO NIELI HOOKED US UP WITH THE BEST CROSSOVER WE’VE EVER BEEN BLESSED WITH! The OG turtles are all so much fun to see again both in and out of 2D, Gilbert Godfried is always a delight, the 2012 turtles in traditional 2D animation is awesome, and ALL THE OG VOICE ACTORS ARE HERE AND CLEARLY HAVING THE TIMES OF THEIR LIVES. THE ROB PAULSEN JOKE IS LITERALLY A BLESSING XD I only wish it had been longer!

Honorable Mentions are Slash and Destroy, Pizza-Face, Within the Woods and Mutant Gangland!

And rounding it off is the last— but certainly not least— series, Rise!! I adore this one!! It’s right behind 2012 as my favorite TMNT series just for the stellar animation!! It’s such a shame that this one had to end so unfairly, but today I’m giving it the love it deserves!! Please note that I have yet to complete season two of ROTTMNT cuz my life has been crazy hectic and I haven’t had the time, but once I do, I’ll go back and update this section if I find more episodes I liked!

Raph’s Ride Along ( Season 2 Ep. 8A ) Ummmmmm the 2012 VA’s playing parody versions of their turtles as yokai criminals??? HELL YEAH. If only they got Astin to play a character though! Then we would’ve had a reverse Turtles Forever reunion! I came out of this episode really loving the Mud Dogz as characters and wanting more, especially Dastardly Danny cuz Rob Paulsen is always a win! Too bad this show got canned before we could really get to know these guys. BUT HEY! That’s what the fandom is for! 🤣

Insane in the Mama Train ( Season 1 Episode 25 ) When I watched this series blind, this episode blew my mind. Seeing something so well done had me screaming in joy with how expertly this episode was crafted. The stellar action choreography, the great comedic elements splashed in to lighten the tense mood, the ANIMATION OH MY LORD. Disney, take notes. And that ending leaves a pit in my stomach every time, like OOOOF, those expressions! That sudden tonal swap!

Mystic Library ( Season 1, Ep. 20A ) Probably my favorite comedy episode! The timing for the jokes in this one specifically is so well done, and every single one had me in tears. I’ve been trying to commit Donnie’s library rap to memory but alas, I’ve been failing.

The Clothes Don’t Make The Turtle ( Season 2 Episode 10B ) THIS. MORE OF THIS PRETTY PLEASE. It's just SO MUCH FUN. I really don’t have anything else to say other than this one is a great treat, also, the reanimated fan cut of this is spectacular!!

Snow Day ( Season 1 Ep. 23B ) This, for me, is the Christmas special of the series even though it’s in no way related to the holiday or has anything to do with it BUT I DON’T CARE LET ME DREAM. I love this one for the adorable interactions and the bonding! Seeing the characters goofing off and having fun, enjoying the weather and spending time together outside of the angst? I CRAVE FLUFF LIKE THIS.

How old is the hexside squad in the Neverland AU second question, What do they wear?

Same ages as their canon selves. The girls are between 14-15, Gus is 12-13, Hunter is 16.

I don't have any specific insistence on what they wear cuz I see that as a creative liberty.

Luz and Gus are Lost Boys and those guys just fucking wear whatever. Idk what's going on in these pics but Slay 💅🏻

With Amity it's like...I haven't decided on a specific time period but I'm leaning towards the Edwardian era. Loosely. Cuz like. It'll probably get a little historically inaccurate at times but I really don't care and that's why it's a very noncommittal connection to that era. That being said, I imagine Amity appearing in Neverland in her prim and proper period appropriate attire. She would try to keep herself tidy because this is the only outfit she's got and she needs to take care of it and a teacher cannot look unpresentable. But like....Neverland is Neverland. Its still probably got some tatters and torn damage and stains but she's making it work. Something along these lines

Willow is.....she is whatever. In my head Willow has a whole closet of cute little fairy outfits. Fairy outfits are just so CUTE to me and I've been obsessed with all the little fits people have been drawing her in. Artists are fashion designers to me 😌

i SUPER suggest checking out inverswayart here on tumblr, not just cuz theyre pixie designs seem similar go what you want but also just cuz theyve got really cool art

in terms of Digit, Tune ,Caramel and Cherie, i prefer digit and tune from a design standpoint cuz tune and caramel are very much designed for poppixie and i think it kinda clashes with the other s2 pixie designs, in general i dont like the pixie's s6 designs

Anyway, Caramel is the pixie of strength and she owns a bakery in poppixie, shes also very direct and hardworking so maybe she could be some sort of plot for tecna to like take action or something, now Cherie idk,,, shes like "snooty" and "upity" but not in the same way that Tune is, she's like famous or something in poppixie, so its more diva than proper, shes also very emotional which is a bit too similar to what Musa already is so idk, also shed the pixie of weather which is cute cuz Aisha teaches Musa a rain dance spell in season 2

I redesigned my Main Antagonist

Kivihk, the God of Blood and Beginnings, has slowly risen from "antagonist of one story arc" to "main antagonist" and thus, he needs a new design and personality to match.

What was I working with? He had this arrogant, abrasive, "I'm waaay better than you" sort of attitude before. Imagine like... stereotypical misogynist college bad boy who drinks and parties too much and stuff. And he wanted to take over the world because he was an entitled baby.

So. He was evil and boring.

And also, he wasn't wearing enough clothes and this made him LESS hot, imo. I mean, look at this mess...

So then, I fixed him.

Initially, I fixed his second-in-command, Vanya, and gave her an actual tragic arc and stuff. And she went from "boring, evil goon" to "realistic depiction of a trad wife being gaslit into thinking giving birth was her only value, only to be put down for doing the one thing they told her she should do." So, she's this EMOTIONAL MESS and she hates him but she loves him cuz she doesn't think she has options...

Except the Demonic/Eldritch horror version. So her body will eventually be consumed and taken over by him. And she has to just be happy about this... SEE? That's FUN! (And by "Fun", I mean, it's horrific.)

So, next, I thought "Maybe, I'll remove Kivihk from the story except as a force-of-nature villain, with Vanya as his face!" Especially since "God of Blood and Beginnings" sounds a lot like "birth" to me -- so making him more of a feminine villain just made sense. I even started doing some sketches for this potential change -- Below: Vanya as she is now and Vanya as she could be as the avatar of a dead God.

But then I thought about how much editing that would require and died inside...

So I went and fleshed out the last 2000 years of backstory. And lo and behold, my usual trick of "just imagine going through their backstory" gave me a lot more empathy for the kind of people these two would be... And for one: Kivihk would not ACT like an entitled little baby all the time. He would, in fact, be pretty gentle, patient, and nice. He's a God, after all. He's a God who is superior to all other mortals and he has forever to achieve his goals. As I described it to my Discord:

He doesn't hate humans... he just doesn't see them as people. Do you gloat at cows? No. You aren't insane. You DO still get mad at them if they break your fence or refuse to eat the food you give them, though...

So, with this in mind, I went and redrew him to give him that "JRPG Final Boss First Form" vibe. In his human disguise atm, he's got darker skin because the majority of humans in that area have dark skin. But most of my Demons have ashy-silver skin, so that's kinda what I'm going for with his "Godling" form.

To be clear, in his TRUE true form, he'd probably have like 5 more of those black "burned" arms, 6 more eyes, and like 3 flaming halos or something. I also think his God form would be more fishlike, since fish lay a lot of legs, and take a lot of influence from sea angels (since they're clear/white but have a red core and I think that's a great aesthetic for a God of Blood).

So yeah! That's a list of all the changes atm. I'm not even sure if this is the final destination of my changes so if you have questions or suggestions, I am open to them. Thanks for going on this journey with me! Now I just have to do a proper illustration to update this banner already... Hee hee!

ok so

they're eeny weeny comics of mine that im gonna shove in2 my art portfolio for school, probably. well. they WILL be comics when i like. start illustrating them. i just need 2 patch a few plot holes and then i will start whipping them up

umm so whats r the premises?? for SSD its like... a bunch of kids that work for the future equivalent of amazon as delivery ppl. i need to find a better way to phrase it LOL. but yeah. its not just that—there are evil crazy people because i refuse to associate with anything that does not involve evil crazy people!! there's this collection of crazy ppl actually, called the ALEHI program, and they all live in a place that everyone thought was uninhabitable. alehi stands for artificial life extension by human intervention and they would do ANYTHING to. yk. find a way to extend life. and it JUST SO HAPPENS that the DIRECTOR OF SPACE AMAZON is riiiight under their thumbs.

with TARP the premise is a lot more... yk. immediately attractive!!! summarisable!! so like, the afterlife place whatever is in mayhem because SOME PEOPLE have discovered NECROMANCY. and now so many random dead ppl r disappearing from the afterlife and becoming alive that society is crumbling. so some random dead ppl have been hired (moreso forced) to like... get people to die basically. some pose as lowtiergod (you should kill yourself... NOW!); others lure ppl to their deaths; yada yada. it follows a failing music artist (and necromancer? that accidentally raises ppl from the dead with such banger tunes?) contacted by one of those dead ppl—one that's too kind to actually repopulate the afterlife AT ALL—and yada yada yada blah blah might make them fall in love idk

RWBY as Transformers au

Ruby Rose: something that's not commented on very often is the fact that in RWBY proper, Ruby can in fact fly with her semblance, therefore in a transformers au she would need to be a flight capable vehicle, therefore I imagine that Transformers Ruby would have a vehicle and robot mode based off of Windblade, a small plane with vtol fans, it also works that the two already share a color scheme, the only real changes are the orientation of the wings (Windblade keeps hers outright, though it seems she can adjust them at will) to a downwards angle so as to recreate Ruby's cape, no more heels, and a head with a more "hood-like' appearance, her weapon is more or less still crescent rose, albeit the blade is now made of energy (like Windblade's sword)

Weiss Schnee: I envision her design as being like ROTF Sideswipe, cuz y'know, he has wheels for feet/roller skates and Weiss does that all the time, and he turns into a sports car and I think that fits Weiss, Myrtenaster would more or less be the same, except upscale to transform size

Also ROTF Sideswipe is one of the shortest Autobots in the movies

Blake Belladonna: all Faunus characters would be Beast-formers, Blake specifically would turn into a black panther, based of the Kingdom Cheetor design, and along that line, Gambol Shroud is now what forms the tail in Blake's beast mode, just as Kingdom Cheetor's tail forms a chain scythe thing

Yang Xiao Long: she would turn into a customized suped-up off road muscle car, I'm talking that exposed hot rod engine on the hood, flaming exhaust pipes, and raised suspension, her robot mode would be based off AOE Crosshairs (it's cuz of the trench coat, it's sick as hell and suits Yang so well, and that design has shades), because Yang's weapons are gauntlets and kinda blend in with her arms, Yang would be the only one whose transformer form has built in weaponry, specifically looking like the dual wrist blasters of Prime Bumblebee, also her hair is made of fire like IDW Firestar

On Disney's latest "100th Anniversary" film...

Now to start this discussion off, I won't beat this dead horse any deader cuz I know it's already been talked to death about how uninspired it is and how it had the potential to be great. I can commend the artists for their work on this film and their passion for their craft on a movie that the company supposedly squandered, and I will also give no shame to those who liked the movie. Just wanna say that, because this discussion is about something else.

Today I was watching another video on Disney's "Wish", the latest in their catalogue of animated films that to me, doesn't really do a good job as their 100th anniversary film. Heck, their latest short, "Once Upon a Studio" did a better job of recapturing the magic of their work and paying homage to the studio for all these years. The same can't be said for Wish.

The video I was watching gave a general consensus of the plot and characters and how the main issue was how unmotivated and aimless everything seemed and that got me thinking of how it could have been better realized. At the time I was on call with a friend, both watching the video on stream and began to conceptualize an alternative story that could have worked with the original concept. Bear with me, these are just my thoughts in terms of the concept art we got, and I like to go into detail a bit so strap in!

Now, for context, the original concept art showcased a different set of characterization for the characters than what we got, especially for the titular star character and the villain or rather, villains. Not to mention, Asha with some beautiful original designs.

From here you can see vast differences from the final product, like how we got a villain couple and how the merchandisable luma used to be a wish-granting shape shifter and love interest to Asha. Very fun! Very flavorable. A lot of personality can be seen from these, and I can imagine the dynamics between them all.

Speaking of, let's talk about the characters and their motives because any movie won't do good if your characters are all flat. In the movie, as mentioned in the video I watched, their motivations are not very clear. But what if they were? Now the story I came up with has a few different tweaks to the current story, cuz the concept is still sound it just needs work. Here is the gist:

Magnifico can stay as villain, just keep in mind it's him and his wife that are the masterminds behind keeping the wishes for power and have them be god-tier manipulators to the town. Yknow, the whole "doing what's best, for nefarious purposes" and using their intellect to pull the wool over everyones eyes

Asha can still be up for becoming an apprentice to Magnifico and the queen, wanting to become a good sorcerer perhaps so she can help her family and grant wishes too, like she believes the monarchs able to do? (could be a homage to Mickey in Sorcerer's apprentice in name alone, eheh)

Star still serves his role as an alternative wish granter, possibly the only real wish granter, and threat to the king and queen's thriving empire and helps Asha with doing so, with his concept design (I know him as a star is cute but wouldn't a shapeshifter be more fun?)

This alone would help put the right pieces into place where the villains have their own goals, and the protagonist has conflict. Picture this...

The storybook beginning with Magnifico and the Queen bringing properity to Rosas with their gifts as legends go, everyone expects their wishes to be granted and are happy to anticipate their turn.

Cut to Asha who goes into her "I want song" about wanting to be like them and bring prosperity to her family and to be a beacon of hope for the people by granting wishes. She hopes to do so by becoming apprentice to the king and queen

Asha watches the wish ceremony happen with awe on her way to the king and queen, her goat tagging along after perhaps some shenanigans who knows. She's then now in the presence of the throneroom where the queen is, Magnifico not present. She may comment on the goat and Asha states he's a friend, etc typical banter, the queen sizing her up to see if she has what it takes. The queen listens to her talk about her concerns and wanting to be good, the queen humors her and explains what it means to be a wish granter and how their job is important for the town of Rosas etc and Asha asks how it works. The Queen changes subjects, saying she won't go into it (building some suspicion perhaps?)

Asha is briefed by the queen some more, Asha still wanting to know how it all works and the queen continues changing the subject, which puts Asha off but not entirely, her goat being suspicious, however. The queen seems dismissive as ever and Asha asks if she'd accept her offer, willing to put in the work to be as great as them. The queen is hesitant, wanting to say no, but for the sake of wanting to keep things under wraps and to keep an eye on this eager girl, she agrees but tells her she'll need to put in the work to match their level

This intro can serve as a good opener for the film and build enough intrigue and given the nature of the characters, the dialogue will come freely from their dynamic with one another. The Queen, being a villain, would not want the bad truth of her and her husbands intentions to be made known, instead trying to seem like their reasons for secrecy are all for the good of Rosas or reserved for their power alone. When Asha asks about the specifics to learn more, the Queen is understandly dismissive and instead would focus on the importance of their role in this town. This might give Asha confirmation that they'd take her in, and that she will have a long way to go before she learns their kind of magic. The Queen would essentially keep her distant with the promise of achieving her goal, or wish to help people. Mirroring the townsfolk and their wishes.

Now we can go onto the reveal of when Asha finds out their reputable, good nature is nothing short of a farce when doing errands for them over the course of maybe a few days? She learns their power is being taken from the power of the wishes people pour their desires into to be made true or something similar. Asha is horrified and her goat nearly blows her cover before she manages to sneak away to tell someone, but who would ever believe her?

This kinda plot is sorta inspired by FMAB, where in the second episode the brothers reveal a quack priest performing fake miracles and making promises he can't keep, especially to the poor, desperate people who get hope from his words. To do that would be cruel, and I can imagine for the sake of power, the king and queen of Rosas would put morals aside to hoard the wishes for their own gain, to Asha's horror. And then, in her fruitless endeavor to get anyone to listen, her and her goat get visited in their tragic lonesome by the wishing star in his shape shifting form, curious to her sorrow and eventually, wanting to help.

Let me know what you think! I know it's not perfect but I wanted to see what the story could be if the characters had a little bit of intention behind their actions, as in the movie they don't seem to have any, at least in my opinion. While I admit I haven't actually seen the movie myself, I have heard and seen videos and it did not sit well with people, including Disney fans, the consensus either being it's bad or meh. Again, I won't blame or shame anyone if they like the movie, all power to ya! I don't mean to oppose, I just feel as if we need characters actually being characters, yknow? Just my thoughts.

I hope you enjoyed this whole spiel, uh, sorry for it being kinda long I wanted to write this all down. Eheh...

TL;DR: Disney's Wish could have benefited by having the concept art characterizations be in the movie, such as the evil royal couple manipulating the town and Asha, causing her to strive to be like them, wanting to help but becoming devastated on finding out the truth of their power hungry intentions. Her isolated discovery leads her to meeting the wishing star, and thus the movie can be about them going up against the villains for the sake of preserving peoples wishes.

hmmmm well, usually it's best you set a goal of what you want to draw, try to sketch it out and realize all the skills you lack for drawing and then try to practice the specific skill you need to make your idea come to life

or thats what ive been doing for the longest time because what you want to be able to draw is your motivator for anything

do you want to make cool illustrations? you will probably need to check how to make cool compositions and how the size of shapes work or the placement of shapes work and then color values if you wanna make dramatic art

do you wanna make cool characters in badass poses? you'll probably need to learn basic shapes of human body and anatomy and the stylisation of human anatomy, expressions, how clothes work and how to make cool designs etc.

do you wanna make comics, animations etc? you probably need to learn how compositions and the flow of movements work and how to make storytelling legible and how to place characters in shots to make the story work

and if you want to make cool backgrounds or environment you probably need basic perspective and understanding of 3d objects and shapes and placement

now this all sounds like a lot but once you start you will definetly find something you enjoy creating

The first of my Genshin Impact redesigns:

Amber!

The first one is a redesign of her normal skin, then the second is a redesign of her skin!

And for a refrence of her body type I drew this as well

I have a lot of notes about changes I’ve made, so feel free do read these if you’re interested!

- I made her more muscular, particularly in her back & arms due to her being an archer (I may have gone overboard by giving her abs tho haha)

- I put her long hair in a ponytail so her hair wouldn’t get in the way of her work, but kept it super long jut cuz it suits her

- I made her nose closer to the shape of a rabbit due to the whole rabbit motif she has

- I gave her tan skin due to her always being outside

- I gave her longer legs also because of the rabbit motif (and long legs tend to mean ur a better jumper I think. And rabbits jump. Get it.)

- I gave her a proper jacket and shirt mostly because I do NOT understand how her canon outfits work. Like how does she put those on and wtf do they look like when she’s not wearing them

- I gave her a tooth gap because I gave most rabbit characters a tooth gap. I don’t know how or why that started but I needed to honor the tradition

- I gave her freckles cuz they’re cute :3 and also some of them are shaped like her constellation so tell me if you find them ;)

- I gave her a bandana because it’s cuteee and it suits her. And I needed something around her neck to bring it together so

- I gave her some burn scars on her hands and some burned/ashy clothes because you can’t convince me she hasn’t accidentally set her clothes on fire at LEAST once

- So my approach to the skin design was to base it off of what the description of it in game was. And it was described as a more formal version of her normal outrider outfit. So I did exactly that and made a more formal version of her normal outfit

- Also I swapped the symbol to the other Knights of Favonius symbol/logo considering the one on her original design is ONLY on uniforms and is wayyyyy to complex for a logo

- I painted her nails Collei colors :) even tho you can’t see them in her normal design with the gloves :(

- I got rid of a lot of details in the og design bc I was too lazy to draw them LMAOOO

She was honestly a blast to design!! I plan on redesigning every character eventually so keep an eye out ;) Next up is my lesbian icon Lisa

Bruh I just saw guizhong’s leaked design….it is so underwhelming. She literally looks like a brunette version of Lumine due to the similarities with their hairstyles and dress silhouettes.

Speaking of dresses, mihoyo’s allergy to covering up the female characters legs is getting really fucking annoying. It is so repetitive in both Honkai and Genshin to find female character whose legs are shown or whose wearing thigh high shoes or leggings. For a character who most likely won’t be playable, I figured mihoyo would take more risks with Guizhong’s design. Like giving her the a gorgeous proper hanfu or giving her long hair to emphasize an ‘empress’ kinda vibe…

But nope—we get a generic design for a character fans have been anticipating for since Liyues archon quest. Maybe the design would’ve been fine if Guizhong was the only female character with that hairstyle. But she’s not; Lumine already has her in the front styled in such a manner. Guizhong’s dress could’ve been fine too IF Genshin’s female cast weren’t constantly showing off their legs or having recycled the same silhouettes over and over again.

It’s so disappointing. I don’t know what the fuck has happened to mihoyo’s design team. Kiana’s Herrscher of Finality feels like a skin for Herrscher of Flamescion. Rita recently had a generic orientalist-inspired outfit. Same for Mobius. And in genshin, we have the racist orientalist mess in Sumeru where cultures are mixed together, erasing each culture’s uniqueness. The cast is so colourist; most are white and their darkest characters are not dark at all. Dori is a mess. Nahida is literally based on a South Asian Buddhist folktale and yet she looks like a generic elf found in any fantasy anime.

Like mihoyo needs to hire better artists at this point. I know fans always say ‘oh don’t have high expectations’ ‘don’t get attached to the fanarts’ but it’s like how am I supposed to not prefer the fanon designs for these characters when mihoyo is so lazy by recycling the same silhouettes over and over again? When their skin tone range is so exclusive for darker skin tones? When the character models have little to no diversity in regards to their physique ?(Alhaitham is an exception cuz they actually gave him muscle instead of screwing him up like they did with Itto)

This shit is getting ridiculous…Guizhong deserved a better design

modern au devyn headcanons ✿

babes is her father’s only kid so you know she was very very spoiled as a child, especially after her mother passed away and dong hwa felt the need to spoil her twice as much in hopes she won’t feel her mother’s absence too much

grew up around gil (had to add him in the au <3), karl and richter and used to have (might still have) a big fat crush on gil in middle school, behold of aurora finding out later in highschool cuz she will remind karl about devyn’s crush every time just to annoy him (i’m never getting rid of aurora cuz her and devyn will forever be my best girls <3 😔)

as i mentioned in other posts about her in the modern au, devyn is a ballerina — following in her mother’s footsteps, and this one time she was chosen to play Coppélia in Coppélia/The girl with the enamel eyes, but she managed to sprain her ankle and obviously couldn’t dance for a good while, dropping the role in the process as well; awful period for her, the first two days she refused to eat and cried so much, she didn’t attend school the first week, but went to see her colleagues performance bc she supports her girls forever <3 gil, karl and aurora visited a lot that week, gil would usually come with karl and regret it, so when was time to leave, he faked leaving and came back to devyn so they could actually have a proper convo since when karl was around he always interrupted

i don’t know what sorcery this girl uses but she never breaks her nails, she always has those medium sized nude almond nails perfect. istg not one nail broken or chipped or anything

has a habit of waking up in the middle of the night to unbraid her hair; like she gets into her pjs, does her skin care and braids her hair and then when the clock strikes 3 or 4 am she wakes up—she mostly asleep tho so if you’d witness that, don’t try to talk to her, she won’t respond, she’s on autopilot— an unbraids her hair, as simple as that

much like our og devyn, modern au devyn despises summer and hates hates hates the hot air, give her spring or autumn time any day pls; she likes to have holidays in italy or greece during the summer, but you’ll catch her out and at the beach either till 9 am or after 7 pm, no in between, but will forever chose a cold, chill place for holiday in the summer over italy or greece or even south of france

i think i’ve mentioned it once, or told laila in private, but she barely knows how to drive lol; she got her license and was a great driver during the learning phase and a bit after, but with karl appointing himself as her designated driver, she barely touched the driver’s seat since she got her license so her skills are quite rusty

she’s often sad that her hair doesn’t really hold curls, like those made with a curler or even heatless, so whenever she gets tired of straight hair, she gets those lovely korean perms, gets a similar pattern to what her mother’s hair used to be

unlike og devyn, she’s not so skilled in the kitchen, but can do very basic meals so at least you won’t starve around her

[MODERN AU] A fake insta style post XD ft Vail who shows up in Lei's posts a lot. He does not use his instagram account that much cuz he's technologically challenged but as a Runner (pretend they're like similar to e-sports pros) he has an account for publicity. A manager runs his RUNNER_Vail account and he logs into it once in a blue moon when he feels like it or when someone tells him to. (The manager might be me... LMAO)

Yeah I didn't like his bday art so I tried to do him some justice and redraw it a bit ;w; although the concept is a liiiitle different this time :) But I like how this one turned out a lot better! I'm actually trying to make my monthly journal calendar spreads all OCs this year XD hence I needed a good Vail pic to use :3

And of course, here are select comments from the comment section. you can tell Lei and her friends all type/text pretty properly XD Lei, Elise, and Ceres use proper punctuation + capitalization, although I imagine Ceres and Gigi use emojis. Zoey/Zed is fun because she makes typos and does not care. I feel like of Lexi's team, Keeper and Rose are the one who use social media the most. Lexi would not reply, although she might look at it, and I just didn't want to think of Keeper's response here so I had Zoey reply XD

The formatting of this took longer than actually drawing the main piece XD not to mention all the crunchy icons I had to sketch out LOL. Graphic design IS my passion I guess 🤣🤣🤣

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAALP (and how)

I’m currently in a precarious paycheck-to-paycheck situation because my SSI, which usually helps me pay for most of my rent while my paycheck money goes to other essentials, has been cut off since last year. My rent sucks up my funds every month and I’m not able to reliably pay for essentials for my dog and me, let alone pay for the services and donations I’d usually be making (beta readers for my work, commissions, art supplies, ect). This is a stretch in the dark but until SSI comes back I need to be making an extra 400$ a month. I will be trying to make that amount via this Ko-Fi. Each step in this goal will guarantee a certain need that can be taken care of with that amount as well as a cushion for any extra financial support in that time. 

Donating any amount should give you access to all the Ko-Fi specifc art, HCs and perks you can only find here. Buuut...

Every person who donates 5$ or more will get an inked sketch of whatever they want from me!!! You will get a sketch regardless of if it’s a one time contribution, ‘drop out’ as a monthly contributor, OR if the fund for that month is not reached. 

100$ a month = Shelby Fund

My dog, Shelby, needs her nails trimmed and proper dental attention I can’t usually pay for. With this monthly supply I can handle all her immediate needs on my own. Here she is being the dark familiar after my heart, taken w my government phone.

She's a good girl.

200$ a month = Button Fund 

Working on getting a proper button-making service started from my own house so I don’t have to go through a third party like Redbubble or TeePublic to sell my merch and make my own controlled amount of money. The complete operation is going to take awhile to perfect between buying the machine, printing the art, and trial and error but with an extra 200$ a month I can quite possibly meet Shelby’s needs and begin this process in earnest!

On top of the 5$ sketch, if you donate specifically to meet this 200$ goal (explaining so in a note) you are assured a free button from me of one of my designs, once the button-making bizz is up and running!

300$ a month = Adobe Fund 

All my work is done through Adobe’s Photoshop and InDesign creative suites. Paying for just the suite every month is 90$ while any other computer expenses and computer repair tend to add up on top of that. I can’t afford any VPN services or protection software on my budget. With this monthly fund I can reliably pay for Shelby and these working essentials. 

On top of the "I O U" sketch and button, if you donate either specifically to meet this goal or past it, you will get to have color added to your sketch, either after you've already pledged it or not.

400$ a month = Finally sort of stable Fund

Each 100 of the initial 300 will be distributed between Shelby, home, work, and software needs while the remaining money can be entrusted into things like paying beta readers and therapy. 

Those who donate specifically to meet the 400$ a month goal get the perks of a sketch, color to that sketch, a certified button, and your name on a wall, here and on my Patreon account, which will stay up LONG past this fund/goal goes away. 

This is a fund set up out of desperation - I REALLY don't want to have to keep it up too long and be getting my SSI money asap. I don't like to beg and I can't be on call at all hours or be a monthly service cuz I'm just one person - BUT, I will make this process productive and I want to be making art and practicing my skills as I do it. I want to make this rough time in my life rewarding in some shape or form.
