1 Day Till DamiRae Week!

Hey Shippers! So with Damirae Week approaching, I just wanted to remind everyone that we have another AO3 Collection titled Demon Love Birds Volume 2: DamiRae Week 2022.

When you post your story to AO3 all you need to do is type Damirae Week into the Collection column, which resides in the same section as the "Does this Work Belong to a Series?" and "Does This Work Have Multiple Chapters?" In this instance make your selection under "Does this Work Belong To a Collection?"

Once you've made your selection, post the story and we'll receive it in our queue for approval. Please be patient as this could take a day or two. All stories will receive approval unless they are anti-damirae fics. That being said please use all appropriate tags and warnings so that readers can comb through and understand which fics' are what. Such as smut, slash, major character death or containing mature content.

With that being said, we look forward to your contributions of all kinds! Happy Damirae Week! Let's get this party started

I'm back homies! DamiRae Zine sales are ending on Aug 1st. So I thought I’d share the playlist I listened to while writing Through the Window. A noir story about an apartment bound artist (Damian) who spies on his neighbors to pass the time and distract himself from his own stagnant life. Until one night he realizes his neighbor, a failing comedian he calls “the Joker '' has killed his ill wife, a successful psychologist. All to the horror of his lovely girlfriend, who’s eventually convinced of the crime.

The story is based on Alfred Hitchcock’s classic Rear Window and explores the phenomenon of voyeurism and the cultural impact of the Television. Each window is another channel, and when the protagonist doesn’t like or is bored with the story before him, he simply switches to another window to watch a different show. However, Rear Window is also (and more importantly) a love story. The main protagonists is in a state of limbo and his love life is no different. And in the bleak face of boredom and reality, he’s begun to question whether or not marriage is the right fit for him. Each window represents a different aspect of his state of being and his relationship. “Miss. Lonelyheart) (Selina Kyle) represents his fear of ending up alone, while the Joker and Dr. Quinzel represent Damian's worst fears of marriage. Meanwhile, the Writer (Jason Todd) writes their love story as he and the beautiful dancer in the apartment above (Rose Wilson) find themselves in a similar state of limbo. All while the drunk Musician (John Constantine) composes the score.

@esme0013​’s provides a gorgeous dark visual, that is both haunting and classic. Which leads to the surprise ending and Damian putting his life and future into prospective.
