I was crying the whole time I wrote this so you better fucking like it

Black smiled softly at his Pearl fretting over his condition. The Rebels had finally attacked him and he couldn't put up much of a fight. He could remember the pain of how Rose’s sword cut into him, sending him to the ground of his flower garden before they retreated. He knelt down to his level, resting on his arms as the life slowly began to fade from his eyes. 

“Pearl.” He said softly, small tears running down his face as his eyes drooped, the bags under them becoming much more prominent. 

“Y-yes My Diamond!” His Pearl turned around and Black felt a horrible pang in his heart as he saw how tears flowed from his Pearl's bloodshot eyes. He saw how his lip quivered slightly as he bit at it. He saw how his body trembled as he came face to face with Black Diamond. The Diamond. His Diamond. 

“Y-you’re much worse than I thought! W-we need to get you help im-immediately! Please sir! P-please get u-” His Pearl grabbed at one of his hands, pulling at the finger to try and tug him along, his boots scratching at the dirt of his Diamond’s precious Lily garden. 

“Pearl…” Black said again, smiling at him. He rested his head on one of his arms as he crossed them. He slightly raised his free one for Pearl to grab onto. 

“Y-yes my-”

“Black is fine.” He interrupted, blinking slowly as his gem began to crack. 

“Y-yes B-B-Black?” Pearl said, tugging his finger closer. 

“Here in the garden~” He began, causing Pearl’s lip to quiver more. 

“Let’s play a game~ I’ll show you how it’s done~” He said as his Pearl nodded. 

“Here in the garden~” He felt himself getting weaker and weaker, his long blinks becoming more frequent as his pearl walked closer to him, still grasping onto the tip of his finger tightly as he hugged what he could of his face.

“Stand very still~” He said, smiling as he nuzzled him as softly as he could before pushing him back. 

“This will be so much fun~” A few tears fell to the ground as he laughed for his Pearl, knowing how the sound of him always helped him feel better.

And then he smiled, and that’s what he was after, the smile in his eyes, the sound of his laughter.

“Happy to listen~?” He managed to get out, all the energy from his body leaking away.

“Happy to play~?” His hand went limp, as he no longer could muster the energy to keep it raised. 

“Happily watching me drift far awayyyy~” He said before dropping his head, the color in his eyes draining away as he let himself go, making sure to smile as he finally died. His Pearl couldn’t believe it. The Diamond. The Radiance. His Diamond that he served for eons. Was completely and utterly gone. He wailed and raced up to his body as it grew cold. He fell to his knees and sobbed loudly as his diamond’s life fully disappeared.

Mannn Oda’s REALLY good at introducing characters I automatically dislike but then end up falling in love with later. Like Bege. I was so mad at him for hurting Pekoms and taking Sanji but now I’m like. LOVE THAT GUY. He’s a mafia boss he’s ruthless and will shoot his own comrades if necessary he’s an expert in backstabbing and is notorious for murder but he’s also SUCH a loyal husband, he loves his wife SO much and he loves his baby boy SO much and would move mountains for them. He ends up getting drawn into the utter chaos that surrounds the Strawhats and despite every aspect of his character that says otherwise he ends up believing in them and what they can do.
