i remember i said i would draw modern au designs for some of the claymores so here’s clare!

i did post a wip of a modern au clare awhile ago but i never finished it so here’s her concept + other characters concepts below the cut!

clare is a guitarist in a band with helen, deneve, and miria and works a morning shift as a barista. she’s also in college and her roommate is jean! her adoptive moms are teresa & irene; her adoptive sibling are priscilla and raki! clare is the middle child while priscilla is the oldest and raki is the youngest. clare currently majors in music and minors in creative writing. she also has a pet snake named fey.

jean is an art student that mostly does figure drawing and human paintings while doing the occasional landscape. she’s clare’s roommate in college as well as her friend. jean has had a crush on her ever since she saved her from a really bad car wreck. ( she actually thought she was cute since they became roommates but her saving her amplified the crush x10 ) she attempts advances but they’re either extremely vague or clare is just plain oblivious. ( they do date later on dw )

helen is a college dropout and does bass in their group! she works at a gas station in the mornings and sells weed after shifts if she’s not practicing with the band. she’s dating devine and has been since she was in college.

deneve never went to college but instead took a job as a freelance editor ( which surprisingly makes her quite the buck ) on the side of playing drums for miria’s band. her and helen have a cat named bugs!

miria is the lead singer of her band and is currently in college as a music major and an english minor. she makes the lyrics and keeps everything in check within their band. they aren’t well known, but they’re pretty famous locally. miria doesn’t talk about her side job because she’s ashamed of it ( she works at a daycare ) also she has a thing with a certain nun…

i might tweak some of these ideas but lmk if y’all would change anything about these! or if u have any ideas for other characters

Claymore fanarts

Every so often I think about Claymore and all its shipping potential as a dark fantasy series with mostly female characters. I’m sad the fandom isn’t bigger because there’s so much shipping possibilities.

So I went to take a look at the pixiv tag for the first time! Links to explicit fanworks are warned for with R18.

I got to see some lovely art of various ships by user 蛇宴, who portrays really well the muscled and battle-weary bodies of the characters (+some modern AU pics):

PPE can also mean PUBLIC Protection Equipment. A, hopefully, humorous reminder from Helen and Deneve to wear a mask when you are out and about not for your safety but that of those around you. Sorry but there will be a bit of a rant here. Working in an ambulance in the United States at this present time I am, obviously, dealing with a lot being basically the frontline of the frontline workers. Most recently, however, what has gotten truly aggravating is how many disregard and even fight against the prevailing medical advice to wear a mask when going out, practice social distancing, and stay home unless absolutely necessary, even among my fellow healthcare professionals. I already know some here will leap to call me a "liberal" or something similar but that is a major part of what is pissing me off: that this public health issue has been made a political issue. I hold BOTH sides at fault here, all more focused on using the pandemic to score political points against each other rather than working at resolving the issue thus making my job harder for the foreseeable future. These best practices have shown positive impacts in other countries and are very simple to follow, so please just wear you damned mask. Sorry about the rant, I had to get that out of my system.
