Sona of Keroro Gunso/Sgt frog!
Name is still Shippy of course
Age: ? (But remains like an adult Keronian)
Gender: Yes(?) [Uses any pronouns]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Backstory of them:
They are an experiment on the planet Keron in order to create Keronian super soldiers and they gave the Keroro troop (without Dororo knowing it [they once again forgot about him]) the first prototype, as Earth was a safe place to test their capabilities.
The problem is that the prototype was strange to how they imagined it, very distracted, quite quiet, it got sleepy and when it came to having to answer it was very difficult for him, being very nervous about wanting to show her capabilities and not being able to do, so, the troops decided to stop this situation and they ended up leaving her alone, going to the base to report that they should return them to Keron, at that moment the prototype overthought things a lot and entered a state of uncontrollable overwhelming thinking that he had failed his companions and her creators, making him in that state, transform into her most savage version by her own most vile and crazy thoughts, she sought revenge to sink everything based on the brute force of their arms, thus demonstrating, according to her,superiority and worth for the army against the inept of the troop, being out of control.
It was there when the troops heard the noise and chaos that Shippy was trying to generate, from simple pranks to wanting to harm humans and things of the city, there they decided to defeat her because of the disaster that could cause and although it cost them a lot, thanks to the appearance of Dororo at the last moment, they managed to knock her out and save her from a fall.
There the troop went to notify their superiors while Dororo watched over her, and when they woke up, both sharing a small conversation, Shippy felt very sorry for what had happened and when Dororo asked her why he did all that, she explained that she did not want in true, but rather those thoughts of her own possessed her at her weakest moment, when she thought of having failed all, being a twisted side that she was not proud of having and he did not want to return to the planet because there they would surely throw her away. Dororo, very empathetic, understood and he went to the group to interrupt said conversation with his superiors so that they would give her the opportunity to continue, only for when he interrupted, his superiors said that the project had been canceled due to lack of a proper budget and that they would be left with Shippy and dealing with his problem, shrugging their arms when Keroro asked how they have to do that and hanging up the call after that.
So, Shippy stayed with the Keroro troop, living in the Hinatas' house, as it was the best place where they could keep him under watch and in constant company, since if she is left alone, that state of overthinking things returns and they would be out of control again.
Maybe one day she can feel completely in tune with her thoughts and find peace while adapting to the meaning of feeling happy with her friends and probably even more...

Chapter 6: "I must not break rules"
No specific age (maybe 16+?)
Masterlist
Pairing: Draco Malfoy x gryffindor!fem!reader
Time: Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix
Warnings: mentions of blood, scars (basically if you've read/seen Harry Potter you're good), language
Words: 1 and a half long scroll
Summary: After the D.A. is betrayed to Umbridge you are given detention along with your classmates. Draco tries to shield you from Umbridge's rage.
Tumblr media
Malfoy took one more large inhale as he stood outside Umbridge's office. The face of y/n as they blew up their way to the Requirem Room would not leave his mind. She could had left, but she stayed with Harry, Hermione and the Red head disaster to insure the younger students cleared out before Draco got there. Not that it made any difference as the paper they all signed betrayed them all.
Now they were all faced with detention. If you could call that torture as such. His lungs and heart grew heavy only at the thought of her being hurt like that. It had been a few weeks since they fought. He could not bare not to sneak a look on her in class and he had caught her doing the same with sorry eyes. But everytime he thought of talking to her, his pained heart reminded him of her betrayal. She had helped the Weasleys prank his friends time and time again. And yet, one though did not leave his head and held his love and hopes stitched to his heat; she did not tell on him. She kept him out of their plans. Even more so, everytime he looked back, he remembered her pulling him away from group meetings and returning to them to find his classmates full of zits or with their teeth bluer than a blueberry. He took one more breath and knocked on the door.
"Come in!", Umbridge's cheerful voice came from inside.
The amount of pink in the office was not something one got used to. It hurt his eyes every time he walked in to file his report of the squad. The walls were covered top to bottom with cats painted on plates.
"Draco, welcome", Umbridge said smiling, "would you like some tea?"
"Uh...no", Draco snapped back to reality, "I needed to talk to you about a student"
"Oh?", she extended her hand to point at the chair next to her desk. Draco took a seat and placed his hands on her desk, fingers entwined.
"Her name is y/n.", he began, "she is among those you caught in Dumbledore's army. I would like to ask you to excuse her from detention"
Umbridge raised her left eyebrow. She took a little silver spoon and poured three, not two, spoonfuls of sugar in her tea.
"And why would I do that?", she took a sip, the smile never leaving her frog-like face, "She broke the rules. It is only natural to be punished accordingly".
Draco took a deep breath. He lowered his gaze to his hands. He had practiced this lie a thousand times before he came to Umbridge. He had thought of the details over and over again. It had to work.
"Because she was working under my orders", he told her, "I urged her to infiltrate Dumbledore's army but it took longer than expected for them to trust her with information"
"Now that can't be true, can it?", Umbridge placed the cup on its plate. Draco raised his gaze to be met with that same smile once more. "Y/n already told me she was one of the founding members."
Those words were like a dagger to Draco's heart. Why would she do that? What was the matter with her? She could had lied. She could had blamed Harry. He was already in the fire anyway, one more crime would not make the flames burn hotter for him. She could had denied everything, there was not a single document to prove otherwise.
"She told us and in return took some of her classmates punishment", Umbridge answered his unvoiced question, "I would had pegged the Weasley twins or that Ginny girl would be founders too but she stepped upfront along with three others and claimed the title. Harry Potter of course was included, as expected"
Draco closed his fists over the desk. His nails buried in the skin of his palm as he squeezed them shut.
"I know what this is", Umbridge continued, "You're a young man. It's only natural for unwanted feelings to form inside you"
Draco frowned. "Professor?", he asked
"Now, I understand that boys your age tend to stray away from logic in favour of other needs but I would not pick you as one of them", she stood up and searched inside a drawer, soon to take out a sheet of paper and a feather pen, "I value you at your current post so I suppose this time we'll only need to imprint your duty on your body."
She placed the quill and paper in front of him. He recognized exactly what they were and knew exactly what she wanted.
"Don't worry.", she said, "Otherwise you've been doing a remarkable job. So just a few times will do. It won't even leave a scar". She tapped on the paper. "Write 'I will be impartial upholding regulations'"
"Why", Draco said sharply.
"Because it's not right to pick favourites Draco", she said, "When someone breaks the rules they must be punished no matter how we feel about them."
He took the pen in his trembling hand. He twirled it among his fingers as he prepared himself for the writing. He had never done this before even though he had seen her give the same detention to others countless times. He could not fathom the pain, the aftermath...nothing.
"I'll tell you what", Umbridge spoke again, "you write it five for your punishment. And if you write five more, I will excuse y/n from detention. This time and no other"
A new flame of determination sparked in Draco's heart. He took better hold of the quill and began writing the sentence quickly. After he wrote it down twice though, and the message began engraving itself to his skin, his speed decreased. The sting on his hand was more painful with each row he wrote down. This was going to be harder than he thought. He finished the five he had to write. He took a glance at Umbridge, still sipping her tea, watching him carefully. He could not stop his anger from showing in his glare. One letter at a time, he continued writing the other five. He caught her shadow moving but he was too focused on finishing to take a better look. Once finished he put down the quill and blew on the fresh wound on his hand. It read "i will be impartial when upholding regulations"
"Here you go", Umbridge handed him over a pieve of paper, a message with her signature inside, "now go on"
"She will not get detention then?", he asked, his teeth gritting as he massaged the sides of thr wound.
"Oh, she already has", Malfoy's eyes opened wide at Umbridge's words, "But you can go retrieve her and spare her from the rest of her sentence"
It took a moment for Draco's brain to process that declaration. His lungs stop drawing breath as his heart began to race. After he returned to reality he wasted no time to speak to Umbridge and ran down the stairs to where the mass detention would be held.
Umbridge was right. The room was already full. The members of the D.A. all had pained expressions on their faces as the marks on their hands deepend with every row they wrote. Under Filtch's watchful eye, none of them dared to let out the slightest cry of pain. He frantically scanned the room for y/n. He finally spotted her up front, next to the bad luck trio. He walked towards her, his steps heavy on the ground but quick. He pulled the quill off of her hand and, without stopping, continued his way to Filtch who was ready to question him. He shoved both the quill and Umbridge's letter in the caretaker's hands. He did not wait for him to read it neither to respond. He returned to y/n and pulled her up by the arm.
"Hey!", Harry protested aggressively, "Don't grab her like that, Malfoy!"
"Shut up", Draco shot and wrapped his fingers around y/n's other arm. The hold seemed aggressive but he didn't squeeze his fist enough to hurt her. That was not his intention. Potter should know to shut his mouth, this was his fault.
He guided her outside the room and relaxed his grip. He moved his hand to her waist and pulled her closer. She had not said a word. He glanced at her eyes. They were examining him in shock. He did not blame them. He was shocked with himself too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"What are you doing?", you finally asked Draco as he guided you up another flight of stairs.
"What does it look like I'm doing?", he said, pulling you towards the infirmary and gentlyurging you to sit on one of the beds. "Pomphrey!", he cried a few times but soon gave up and muttered a couple of cuss words. "Why is no one here when you need them", he murmured as he scrumbled among the cabinets and drawers and found a gauze and some alcohol.
He took your hand in his and gently brushed his fingers over the wound. Your breath shook as your skin stung. He huffed in irritation and poured some of the alcohol on a piece of cotton.
"This stupid shit can't be healed with magic", he growled. He gave you a light kiss on the forehead before carefully dabbing the wet cotton over your wound, sterilizing it. You flinched, but he held your hand firmly in place until he finished his work. His eyes were focused on the task, but you could hear his breath catch in synchronization to yours.
Your eyes filled with tears, but it was not from pain. "Draco", you whispered.
"Please bear it, it'll be over in a sec", he said apologetically, as if in a hurry.
You placed your other hand over his. That was the only thing that managed to draw his gaze away from your wound. He slowly raised his head. Once he met your eyes, he immediately pulled you close and hid his face away again, this time behind your shoulder. You lost yourself in that embrace, your arms holding him close. The familiar scent of cologne and books filled your lungs, calming your racing heart.
"I'm so sorry", you wept, your fingers wrinkling his vest.
"Stop", he squeezed you, "don't say that again. Not ever.". He turned his head just enough to steal a kiss on your neck. "Just stay by my side", his voice trembled, "Stay with me"
Okay I'm stuck on this. Will I ever finish it? Maybe. Honestly it was just me being self-indulgent with a Wild headcanon. Possibly very hamfisted with it too, actually.
Also I was experimenting with a different writing style, so behold. An extremely unedited thing from my documents.
Characters: Wild, Twilight, Four
⚔️🍳️🍳⚔️
Wild didn't have much say in things when Twilight, their brother, their friend, their faithful companion, frog marched them out of camp one day with a growling mutter.
They were fine. They were completely fine. Wild might be a little forgetful sometimes, or verbally process (Purah's phrasing) on watch, or occasionally lose all ability to talk, but all of that was positively tame in this group. Time spent watch on full moons viciously sharpening his weapons like a one man army, and was excellent company for Wild's agitated perimeter checks. Hells, Warriors' version of fidgeting was calling and dismissing his limited magic at random, raising everyone's hair for a handful of seconds.
"I'm fine," they emphasized to their uncompromising shield-brother as they were dragged away to decent We Need To Talk distance. "I didn't even burn dinner."
"You literally forgot your name," Twilight corrected, "both of them. You have really weird mood swings, you forget what day it is, your body language is all over the place-"
"We're on a time traveling quest-"
"-and I don't know how to help," the rancher continued firmly, "but I know someone who might, so just. Hear me out. You can poison my dinner later or something, okay?"
Further struggles were interrupted by a break in the trees, where Four had happened to find the most picturesque sunbeam slanting over a mossy stump and was sitting on it like a strange forest spirit with riddles to ask. He frowned at both of them and sent Twilight a very significant, confused glare with a lot of expressive eyebrow wiggling.
Twilight jerked his head slightly at Wild and did some facial gymnastics of his own. Was this a normal thing for people who were properly socialized in a village, or just hero insanity at work? A mystery for the ages. Wild ignored them both and successfully yanked himself out of Twilight's grip.
Four spoke slowly, like a careful footstep onto a possibly rotten tree branch. "I'm always happy to help, Twilight, but... what is this?"
"None of his fucking business," and that really had to be emphasized, "I didn't ask for his help and I'm not asking for it now, with whatever he thinks is wrong. I'm fine. I can fight. I can cook. I even tell jokes sometimes. What more do you want?"
Four leveled a look of significant judgement at Twilight that was very gratifying. At last, someone reasonable.
Twilight, busy being unreasonable, steamrolled past that. "His body language is all weird."
The judgemental eyebrow dropped, as something about that registered with Four, and he looked Wild over with interest.
He was truly and deeply betrayed, but not irreversibly. Wild scuffed the ground with his heel, arms crossed, angling a little to keep a suspicious eye on both of them. He didn't like it much when there were secret conversations happening under the blatant one. Nothing good ever came of it. Sometimes it was pranks. Sometimes, terrifyingly, it was interventions.
Wild responded to interventions by crawling out of the nearest window usually.
"I know you're several thousand years in my past," they began, "and Four is older than several literal hills and possibly a few constellations, but have you considered actually talking to me or are we still at the talking about me stage? Because I can speak Hylian. In several dialects, even. You should try me."
Zwiefacher spoilers
jester: okay, we all met ages ago in trostenwald—well, most of us. there was this circus and an evil frog eating a little girl and me, and yasha, and molly, and fjord, and beau ended up defeating the frog just barely. but nobody believed us and we ended up in prison! so we broke out of prison, along with nott who was also in jail there and were on the run, sort of. not sort of, we were definitely on the run. fjord really wanted to go to rexxentrum to learn about his wet dreams so we thought, it’s a big city, they can’t be looking for small town criminals there.
so we headed to rexxentrum and on the way we stopped in alfield and killed some gnolls and molly came up with our name. we skirted around zadash ‘cause beau was worried people there might recognize her from the scene of our last crime. ended up taking a swamp detour and met these two little lost bird girls? kiri and siri they were so! sweet! also fjord wrestled a fish so he could eat a ball and we nearly got killed by a troll. we ended up in druvenlode helping a bunch of miners assassinate their boss—don’t worry, he totally deserved it— when we heard there was a war?! and we were all like ‘we don’t want to die in the war!’ so we skipped town again.
a bunch of dwarves offered us money to escort their family out of nogvurot but when we got to nogvurot it turned out the kids didn’t want to go, they were talking to the kryn soldiers under the city, and it was very sad and we learned a lot about the kryn and how they can only have babies with their special thingy. unfortunately the army did not like them leaving and it got hot the next day. so we had to look for somewhere else to go. the local criminal guy had an odd job carrying a bunch of these cages to a place called shadycreek run but it turned out the cages were going to a group that was selling people! we took a group vote and turned on them and a bunch of us nearly died, and yasha did die, but luckily we took her to caduceus and it turns out she comes back to life really easy. molly lost an arm but decided not to get it back. also beau got to have sex. then caduceus came with us because we were his fate. a bunch of the people in shadycreek were super mad because we killed their guys, and also molly made them super mad before he died, but this lady named ophelia stole us and was all like ‘i’ve wanted them dead for a long time, thank you, you work for me now, do crimes for me,” so we did even more crimes for her. then she said “now come with me to zadash”
so we went with her to zadash even though beau didn’t want to, but it was fine because we met pumat and the gentleman, who turned out to be my dad—we didn’t know that yet though. we helped save the city from this horde of invisible spiders living underneath and destroyed a portal to the abyss! and when Beau went back to the cobalt soul it turned out they cleared our name for the frog stuff ages ago and no one was even looking for us in druvenlode or nogvurot! a really important monk named yudala even offered to be her teacher and was all ‘you’ve learned techniques on your own that most take years to master rawr, you’re undisciplined but strong, what are you doing’ and she got so. much. training. uh, and then we learned that the gentleman was selling people too and because we didn’t know he was my dad we kind of turned him into the cops. yudala liked us a lot more after that. ‘cause we had clear raps, and molly was looking for more info on their past, and caduceus wanted to know about his family, and fjord’s sword swallowing was getting to be, like, an issue, we tagged along to rexxentrum with yudala.
that’s when we met you! you showed us around the academy and the city and helped fjord and nott and were super coo. gave us odd jobs to do to earn money, took us out dancing... you were the best, we would have been so lost without you, we were going through a lot. it turns out yasha did not come back from the dead all the way okay, she kept having these creepy dreams and disappearing—different from normal yasha disappearing—in the night to stand outside this temple. and people were saying the traveller was a cult! And that fjord was also in a cult but for the betrayer gods! nott was crying because they were saying turning her back into a halfling was impossible. plus one of your archmages kept looking at molly funny and calling him lucien. the last one was actually a biggie. it turns out it’s really hard to spy on an archmage but we finally snuck nott into a meeting to eavesdrop and they were talking about her husband? nott’s husband, not vess’s. we didn’t even know nott had a husband back then.
nott was all, ‘let’s go, go go! we gotta save my husband’ and we skipped town again. but before we left we said goodbye to you and we said that we were scared we’d be watched cause vess was so hung up on molly, and you gave us our necklace! it kept is safe as long as we stayed really close together on the road. you’re probably the only reason we made it to felderwin safely. as soon as we got there we had to murder the guard protecting yeza and the beacon. as was all ‘waah?’ and we went ‘the assembly is super evil and also your wife is a goblin now, grab your kid let’s go!’
we ended up having to use the vibrator we got from the kryn in nogvurot. they said it would only help if there was a purple worm nearby—but luckily there was! And the kryn came out all suspicious but beau held up yeza with the beacon and went ‘yo, take us to your leader, we need to get out of this country pronto”
anyways, we’re heroes of the dynasty now? a lot happened since then, we snuck across borders to see my mom and my mom told me i got my dad arrested which sucked. fjord realized he needed help with his snake after he let it go, then we met yussa and realized we stole the other arcana’s name, molly might be haunted and he spent time in the forest hanging out with old people. there were a lot more abyss portals, beau was doing this whole spy vs. spy thing in rosohna with another person from the cobalt soul, and we saved the bright queen from assassination so now we’re, like, double heroes of the dynasty. we went to bazzoxan and there were lots of evil temples, fjord got bitten by spiders, yasha got super-duper possessed and unpossessed again which let us figure out an evil cult is trying to take advantage of the war to let out the hungriest evil shadow ever. but we got back on yudala’s good side and said, ‘we’re totally not traitors, we did all that for the empire!’ and dairon backed us up cause we have been helping them try to minimize the impacts of the war. So we came back and stopped tharizdun—yasha died again by the way—and the bright queen told us specifically that we’re allowed to negotiate terms if they pinky promise to give the beacon back. dairon was with us and we gave the king all sorts of evidence that the assembly is super evil, kill them all and give us the beacon please! and he was still like; hmmmm, idk.
and traveller con is in a month!
The War of Winter
Tumblr media
Meeting the Queen of Summer
Olhava and Owain and the Sticky finger guild went to the Summer Court to see if the Queen would lend aid to the cause. Which Olhava and Owain upon entering the Court they see Zepp, Palneor and Elendor.
Elendor gives the pets the update that Sage and Wittr have traveled to the Waste of Glass because Selena did something there, and they went to see what is up.
Queen Hestia greets the group, Owain and Olhava steps forward and ask if she could provide aid to fight of the witches. To the pets happiness, she has thrown her crown in with fight. The Autumn Court had sent Elendor to fight as well.
The Queen gets a message from the Spring Court, The Court of Winter is starting to mobilize an attack on the Spring Court.
Owain for some reason immediately thinks “Crap! Pan’s tavern and the kids we need to go and warn the Queen of Spring ASAP.”
The group moves out quickly, but Owain did see a tapestry of a frog hero (the Player me was so happy to see nods to Boko.)
Olhava had ask Queen Hestia if she could send a message to Sliver Horn and tell them what’s up and to meet up with group.
Court of Spring War Room meeting
Getting over to the Spring realm the group sees the Spring Queen Ruduna. The group greets the Queen and they get filled in about the Winter Court. So, the group has to move out now, which the spring army (elves and other magic fae creature roughly maybe 20 or so, I can’t remember)
Owain does tell the Queen about Pan and the kids, which to both Olhava and Owain’s surprise the Queen has never heard of place, Owain shows her on the map where the tavern is located, and she sends scouts out to find the tavern.
Ok what we know about the Court of Winter:
The Queen of Winter is Mustava
Her advisor is Bavlorna Blightstraw, one of Baba Yaga’s daughters and a member of the Hour Glass Coven.
Owain and the Sticky Finger Guild are not looking forward to this fight because of the winter and they are frogs.
Owain asks one more thing of the Queen of Spring and points out that the Guild would not be able to survive the hard winter environment. The Queen grants the frogs magic warming armor (she enchanted our armor so we can stay warm.)
The army heads out, with Elendor leads the army, he knows where there is a entry way.
Traveling and talks
Owain and Olhava had gathered information about Fern castle and the Verdant Prince, but they ask Elendor what is his deal.
Elendor explains that the Verdant Prince is a powerful person, he came and killed the last ruler of the Fae wilds which is the mother of the Queens of season (Ruduna, Mustava, Hestia and the Queen of Autumn) Owain did notice that Zep’s smiling face was replace with a sad face.  Elendor explains that since then the prince hasn’t done anything with the power.
Owain go over to Zep and asks if he is ok, to which Zep replies he doesn’t want to talk about this topic, so Owain with the hopes of at least making him smile (ok I looked up a joke and I can’t remember what site it was so credit to the person who made joke.) tells Zep a joke “why do paladins were chain mail?” he ask “ because it holey armor” which got Zep to laugh Owain pats Zep on the arm and jumps back to Olhava.
 The army comes to the wall of where they could get in since the main entrance has a barrier not letting anyone in.
Elendor warns the army is going to be passing by cave that has a huge stretch of land called Wates of Wind.
Long story short the monster that lives in the cave kicks up a massive snowstorm and the army saw huts and seek save harbor in there to wait out the storm and recover.
Lots of Falling and Story Woods
The army leaves the huts and they deicide ,after Elendor told the group that Storywood is a dangerous forest, it makes you see things that are not there. So, a little bit of a narrow road the army goes around the forest, but not without problems.
At one point, a few of the members of the army wondering to the woods and Owain did try to get them back but fell under the wood’s spell.
The DM describes to Owain that he was back at the Karken’s den and Thaddues offers bug martini drink to Owain and it looked (for a frog) the most delicious thing Owain had ever seen.
After a few Save rolls and Olhava coming to the recuse Owain manages to get out of there.
And proceed forward Olhava falls in the river too.
The Court of Winter fight
Our group gets the tower, and we see a massive battle of Stags and snow people and creatures fighting and the Stags are winning. At one-point Owain looks to the tower and on the balcony, he sees two figures on in a gargoyle stance on the railing point at the fight and looking at the other figure. They are Bavlorna Blightstraw and Queen Mustava.
Mustava makes a huge snow monster, and they were gunning for Sliver Horn, Wild Heart and Bramblehoof.
After some epic fighting Bramblehoof got knocked around and so did Wild heart those retreated, but Sliver horn stands tall to face the creature.
Owain gets an idea and asks Wudon and Zep if they could combine fireball and make it big enough to turn the tide of the war?
So, Wudon who knew Fireball started casting and Zep amplified the spell and when the spell was released, Wudon got kicked back into a snow bank his arms are sticking out of the snow. That spell took a chuck of the creature.
It also made a hole in the tower where Mustava and Bavlorna were, so Owain, Olhava and Zep and Sliver Horn took this chance to go and deal with the two inside thinking if they stop the tower duo that will stop most of the monsters.
(End Session)
Welcome To My Own Little World
by writtenpavement
“Did you know that a group of frogs is called an army?” Tommy says randomly, leaning his head against Wilbur’s shoulder.
Wilbur smiles, looking down at the boy, “yeah?”
“Mhm,” Tommy nods sleepily. “And they can’t eat unless their eyes are closed.”
Wilbur chuckles, “like yours are now?”
Tommy frowns, sitting up. “No, shut up, ‘m awake.”
Wilbur giggles, rolling his eyes as he drags the boy back down to his shoulder. He can tell the sugar high is finally starting to come to an end, thank goodness.
They sit and watch the movie in silence for a bit and eventually Wilbur starts to get tired, ready to lie down and get more comfortable. He nudges Tommy, trying to get his attention.
“Tommy?” Wilbur nudges him again, frowning when the boy doesn’t answer him.
Or, Wilbur being big brother to Tommy.
You had been traveling with the group of misfits for a while, finding and helping them out of their dilemma of running into the local cops when they stole some food. After that, you made them accept you and accept you as they did. They were all uprooted from their homes by Fire Nation forces and were scoring the Earth Kingdom for a place to live, and stealing while they were at it. You were a lava bender, which is what drew the Fire Nation army to you. Your mother ran away with you a long time ago, after falling in love with an Earth Kingdom man. After he was killed in front of her, she moved to a small village, raised you, and got married to your stepfather… who wasn’t a good man. When the Fire Nation heard about your abilities, he was more than happy to send you away for a quick buck. Your mom fought him, but he shut her up quickly. Without them, you don’t know if you would be here right now.
There was Uraraka, the only non-bender, who had incredible strength and wicked martial arts technique. She was the only girl until you came along and the two of you bonded quickly. There was Tsuyu, a water bender with a signature technique of the longest water whip you’ve ever seen, she would call it “A Frog’s tongue.” There was also Shouto, another water bender who had run away from home, his father was a Fire Nation General, thought to be the Fire Lord’s, right-hand man. His Water Tribe and Fire Nation backgrounds mixed together and he was able to heat up the water he bent, often turning into a smokescreen for you all to escape from. There was even a fire bender there, the ever so explosive Katsuki, whose fire got so hot it caused explosions in his hands. He also ran away from home with Shouto, after standing up for him in a crowd in front of his parents and Shouto’s father.
There were two who were from the Earth Kingdom like you, Ejirou, who liked to bend the earth to create a shield or armor for himself when he fought. He was pretty much you guys’ shield. And then there was him, Izuku Midoriya. He had green fluffy hair, freckles, and tan skin. He had a smile that shined like the sun and honestly, you had never met someone so joyous at him. You almost wouldn’t believe that he was the main offensive bender other than Katsuki. All the scars running down his arms only prove how much of a skilled warrior he is. His earth bending skills were off the charts, apparently, he was trained by one of the best Earhtbenders to ever live, Yagi “All Might” Toshinori. In addition to earth, he was also a skilled metal and sand bender.
Even though he and Katsuki fought on the role often, it was pretty obvious that he was the leader of the group.
Currently, you all were staying in an abandoned home deep into the forest of Shai Ya Mo. Most of the lot was asleep, but yet you found yourself waking up early, it was still night when you did. You looked around in the room and saw an empty sleeping bag, before noticing two lumps in the corner where Ochacho placed her sleeping bag. You smiled at them, giggling internally at the display, before quietly tiptoeing out of the room and into the hallway. You walked down the hall, looking at all the old ancient paintings that were still placed there. You then walked down the stairs, towards the kitchen where you and Ktauki had just cleaned up after making dinner for all of them. You scratched at the back of your neck as you went for the teapot, wanting some lavender tea with a hint of honey to relax right back to sleep.
“Late night?” A smooth, dulcet familiar voice spoke out in the open space near the kitchen.
The sound caused you to jump, turning around quickly with the nearest item near you, which happened to be the teapot you were boiling water in. Familiar scarred hands held out in innocence as the moonlight revealed the person to be Izuku, confirming what your ears had heard. You sighed, relaxing before turning back around to place the kettle over the heat.
“Izuku,” you breathed, “you scared me.”
You heard a deep chuckle, before hearing footsteps come up from behind you. You could feel his body heat as he was now standing right behind you. You shuddered slightly as he leaned over you, looking at the mug out and the teapot boiling water over the sparked flame. His breath ghosted over your shoulder and his hands rested on top of your shoulders as he began to speak, the vibration ringing off in your ear ever so harmoniously.
“Tea? Can you make me a cup too please?”
Mouth dry and nervous, you simply nodded your head before reaching up to get another mug. However, you force mid-motion, the feeling of Izuku’s front pressing up against your back. He was… he was shirtless. You’d only seen Izuku shirtless a handful of times, mostly when you all went swimming together in an impromptu lake. Earth benders carry a lot of power in their legs, you should know, of course, seeing how toned and well-defined your thighs are compared to the rest of your body. But Izuku went all out, saying he wanted to look a lot like his late teacher, All Might. According to him, he wasn’t even close to how he looked, but lord oh lord, was he built. You could feel every sharp curve of his muscle, every indent of his abs. Izuku Midoriya was not someone to play with. You could feel him smil- smirking into your hair as he grabbed the cup out of the cupboard before placing it on the counter beside your own.
You took a moment to swallow as much saliva as you could muster before speaking “th-thank you.”
He simply hummed into your hair, his hand snaking around your thinly covered waist. Hands shaky, you placed the lavender tea bag into the teakettle, before taking a long spoon to stir around while dipping the bag in and out of the hot water to concentrate the taste of the leaves into the water. All while that was happening, you actively ignored the way Izuku’s hand was rubbing across your waist. Your heart pounded away in your chest, and your mind was racing 2 miles a minute.
What does this mean? Does he like me? I always thought he liked Ochako because they were so close. Oh my god, he’s so close. Fuck his hands are so big.
“Y/n.”
With a single call of your name, Izuku easily broke you out of the trance you were in.
“Y/n, you’ve been stirring that tea for over five minutes, I think it’s ready.” His voice carried a tinge of amusement, making your cheeks burn with embarrassment.
“Oh,” you said with a slight pitch to your tone, “of-of course.”
You placed the spoon down on the towel before pouring some honey into each cup. Taking the teapot, you poured the mixture into the two cups, mixing them around to make sure the honey blended into the tea. You then took Izuku’s cup, turning around slightly, and handing it to him. He gave you a small smile, not relaxing his hand from your waist, instead, he used his other hand to grab the tea before taking a long sip.
“Aaah,” he sighed contently, “you make the best tea.”
You thanked him, before going to take a sip out of your own cup. You stood there in silence, just taking small sips of your tea, letting the blend of the soothing, calming lavender, with the sweet tinge of honey overtake you.
“Y/n,” Izuku started, beginning to guide you in one direction, “can I show you something?”
You looked at the tall, green-haired man, blinking before nodding. He smiled down at you before moving his hand from your waist to your free hand, pulling you somewhere. He pulled down another hallway before going down a flight of stairs that you don’t remember seeing in your tour a few days ago. It was dark and there was no light, so you stuck close to the man whilst continuously sipping your tea. You wrapped your cold hand against his warm arm, slightly jumping at the sound of the floorboards creaking. At the end of the stairwell was a door, which you also don’t remember seeing on the tour. You looked up at Izuku, questioning his motives but just gave you another exciting smile before slowly opening up the door.
What you saw amazed you.
It was bright, that was the first thing that caught your eye. In the room were teal crystals all over the room, well it was more like a large tunnel. It all glowed and shined so beautifully together. It was….scenic. The crystals lit up the room, cursing a green-blue glow to cast over the entire tunnel. Each gem gleamed individually and it collided together so smoothly. You almost couldn’t believe your eyes.
“Izuku,” you gasped in amazement, “this is so beautiful.”
You couldn’t help but spin around, wanting to drink in this glorious sight before your eyes.
“Have you heard the tale of Shai Yao Mo, why this forest came to be?”
You looked back at Izuku, who had now taken a seat at one of the falter rocks. He had patted down at the space beside him, so you took it to go and sit beside him. He pulled in with his arm, snuggling you close into his side, making your heart race once more and your pits sweat.
“There was a man, named Gumang Yao, and he was in love with the spirit that lived in this forest. He would come and visit her every day with a gift, handcrafted from his pottery shop. Shai Mo would give him visions of where these tunnels were so he could have gems for his vases and other works.”
A man… in love with a forest spirit. You sighed, as he continued on the story, wrapping your arms around his buff bicep and taking another sip of your tea.
“The forest wasn’t nearly as wild as before, and in the remnants of the forest, you could see traces of where the village used to be. The spirit, named Shai Mo, would see how this human would care for her. And soon enough, the spirit felt the same for Gumang as well. Whenever Gumang was not working, he would go and see her. Gumnag was very content with his life, knowing how Shai Mo couldn’t leave the forest. However, there was an evil rich man who lived in the village as well. His name was Rali. He had a daughter who was in love with Gumang and wanted to marry him. When Gumang refused, Rali had the man sentenced to death for breaking his daughter’s heart.”
You gasped, jumping up slightly, “death? For not wanting to marry a wicked man’s daughter?”
Izuku’s face had a lowly smile, “that’s just the way it was back then Petal.”
You smiled at the use of his nickname for you, nudging for him to continue the story.
“Gumang ran away just as he was stabbed, hoping to see his love one last time. He made it just in time, curled up to a tree, and cried out his love for Shai Mo as he bled out. Shai Mo, who usually spoke with the wind to her beloved, along with her visions, came out in her spiritual form, to hold Gumang for the first and last time. She told him she loved him and Gumang looked at her corporeal form, and called her the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen, before dying in her arms.”
You took another sip in anticipation as he continued the story, “what happened next?”
“Shai Mo, distraught with despair and anger, made the forest grow and grow, covering the entire grasslands that backed the village. It destroyed houses, buildings and even killed some. Once she was done, she buried her love’s body under the tree he died. Before disappearing into the forest entirely, never to have come out again.”
“That,” you began, unsure of where to start, “that’s so sad.”
“Yeah, it is.”
You looked up at all the teal crystals embedded in the walls, “yet, I’m glad to know that Gumang died knowing how much the spirit cared for him. How much she loved him.”
You took another sip of your now lukewarm tea, before tapping Izuku on the shoulders to make him look at you. His glistening, evergreen eyes staring right down at you as you traced your free hands across his face, your thumb lingering over the scar he got from a tough opponent. Tea long forgotten, you used your now free hand cup his right cheek, tracing that thumb over his caramel-colored freckles. You felt his own hands grab you by the hips before pulling your entire body onto his lap. It was like something was washing over, a sudden boost of courage if you had to explain yourself. All around you, the crystals began to dim slowly but you didn’t notice, all your attention on Izuku.
“Izuku,” you whispered, leaning your forehead against his own.
You could hear the clank of your cups onto the hard floor but you didn’t care. All you cared about was the man in front of you, the man who you’ve been with for so long. The man you’ve longed for, ever since you joined the group.
That’s when you could feel it, a tentative press of lips against your own. It was swift, but you could taste the hints of lavender and honey from the tea but also a hint of coffee and mint. You wanted more, you needed more. So you pulled him by the face to yours once again and planted your lips on his own. This time, his response was much more proactive, his grip on your waist tightening. Your hands soon trailed down his face, roaming all around his shirtlessness. You breathed through your nose with each second, searing the taste of his lips into your brain. You were doing it, after all this time of dreaming, you were finally kissing Izuku. And it was everything you could imagine and more.
You spread your legs, allowing Izuku to pull you in even closer. You could feel your arousal building up, the slit between your legs slickening up with every second you savored Izuku’s lips. Your body moved on its own, grinding against Izuku’s thigh. Under your thin nightgown, you weren’t wearing anything under it, and you knew that Izuku could feel that. Feeling the building wetness that was beginning to stain his pants, begin to stain his thigh. The act, the show of the way you slowly ground yourself into him, only caused his cock to begin to stir and rise. Your clit rubbed against the thin fabric of his pants, the slight burn giving you an edge you ever knew you needed.
“Y/n,” he sounded like he was out of breath, breathing heavily as he let go of your lips for a second.
You whined against his lips, hips moving faster and faster against his thigh. The thin band within your stomach gradually builds up with each thrust against his body.
“Y/n,” he started again, groaning at his feeling of hard cock threatening to burst against the seams of his thin pants.
“Izuku,” you moaned, throwing your head back as the band snapped suddenly, your orgasm washing all over you.
You spilled yourself all over his thighs, a large wet stan as proof of your release. You inhaled shakingly as Izuku lifted you in his arms before slowly placing you on the floor. You were taking deep breaths, you had never came so fast before. Not even during those late nights when it was just you and your index and middle finger. You could feel Izuku’s broad hands take at your thigh before slowly peeling them back, the knee-jerk reaction of you holding them back to let him see you in all your glory. Your messy cunt all on display for him.
“Y/n… is this… is this okay?” He asked, huffing in deep breaths.
You breathed out a yes as Izuku took a finger, before dipping it into your pulsating pussy, slowly moving up and down in between your inner lips. Your clear cum got all over his fingers, before seeing his whole dip down towards your pussy, shuddering as you felt his breath hit your cunt. You gasped, feeling his large tongue lick from the bottom, near the taint between your pussy and your asshole, before slowly going up and up between your inner lips. He drank you in with the tip of his tongue and stopped once his tongue hit the sensitive bundle of nerves. Your hands moved from your thighs to his hair, gripping it tight as he dove, eating away at your pussy as if he was a mad man. He licked, he sucked and even bit in all the right places. You couldn’t keep your voice down, screaming to the heavens above as Izuku bit your thigh, leaving a slight mark before going back in.
“Izuku, oh Izuku, fuuuck!”
You could feel his calloused fingers spread your inner lips before diving even deeper, his tongue sticking in and out of your hole rapidly. When his tongue was diving deep inside of you, his fingers were encircling your clit, the rough pads of his fingers making paced circled motions into the pearl, making sure the pressure was just enough to make your hips buck right back into this mouth. You tasted amazing, so clean, oh my god he couldn’t get enough of you. Then he switched, and your mind damn near went blank. He plunged one of his beefy fingers into your vagina, while he surrounded his lips around your clit beginning to suck and swirl his tongue around it.
“Come on,” he coaxed, mumbling against you, “give me one more, I know you can do it Petal.”
You screamed, your hips lifting up into the sky, wrapping your legs around Izuku’s neck and smothering him into your pussy, “Oh god oh god, oh my god, I’m cumming again! Izuku fuuck”
You could barely hear him, but you knew what he was mumbling against you. So with no holding back, your climax released, all over his face. It dripped down onto his neck, but that didn’t stop him from licking up all that was left behind on your pussy.
You heaved in and out, tired from the two back-to-back orgasms you had. Your ears rang and buzzed, and your vision was pure white before fading into an ebony black. Your body flopped onto the ground and your eyes closed as you heard Izuku shuffling around. Soon enough you felt yourself being lifted off the ground and walking. That’s when a realization came to your mind. He never… he never got off.
Your legs were numb at this point, but you were able to shuffle around to get his attention.
“Yeah Petal?”
Your words slurred a bit as you slowly opened your eyes, slightly winding at the light of the glimmering gems above you.
“You never… you didn’t…” Your words were jumbled together but it seems that Izuku got what you meant.
He chuckled in your ear, pulling you closer to his body, “don’t about that, trust me. Your pleasure was all the pleasure I needed”
You opened your eyes fully as you were back at the top of the stairs again, the darkness better united for your eyes. He then took you down the hallway and up the stairs before walking past the two rooms before opening the door in the hallway. The one that was conveniently locked when you all arrived here. Inside the room, you could see a bed, big enough for two people. He slowly laid you down on top of it, before slowly climbing into the bed himself. He pulled the blanket from the two of you, and you found the strength to cuddle up beside him as he did, using the warmth of his body to lull you to sleep.
Deep in the back of your mind, it was as if you could hear a woman singing to you. A sweet lullaby that reminded you of the tea you had before. The calming, assuring voice sending the two of you straight into the land of dreams.
1918, the Western Front of WWI
The prisoners are held in a small, hastily constructed sort of barracks far too close to the front lines.
Gefrieter Erich Eeten knows why, of course. The hope is that his own people will hesitate before they blast this bit of dirt apart, that they will be concerned enough about killing their fellow soldiers that they’ll give up a few key moments of pause to the French, the Americans, and the British. Give them the advantage in a firefight.
They want to shield themselves with the bodies of the men in this tent, unwashed and dirty, who are exhausted from a day spent digging trenches for their enemies to hide in.
He can’t exactly blame the Allied powers for it.
It’s a brilliant bit of strategy, if less and less effective as men on both sides become so battle-hardened that they cease to care about their own lives, let alone each other. Still. He’d almost rather be at one of the true POW camps further away from the front lines, where the Red Cross at least comes to check on their treatment.
Here, so close to the front, there is no one keeping watch on what happens to them at all… and the longer the war draws on, the more viciously they kill each other, the more the prisoners kept here too far for oversight feel like they are teetering at the edge of some terrible invisible cliff.
There’s a stiff breeze outside the tent, whipping the heavy, waterproofed canvas edges. They’re flapping a little, making a sound that Erich will one day hear in his nightmares. The cold sneaks in through the slight space between tent and ground, and the men in here are huddled together for warmth, sharing the meager blankets they are given.
At least, though, their captors are officially the French.
Say what you will about the blasted frogs, they never deny their prisoners a nip of strong cognac to help hold off the cold. The Americans, on the other hand, seem to be laboring under an enforced lack of good liquor, not just for prisoners but for their own soldiers, too. That seems a worse crime than nearly any other, in circumstances like this. To force a man to be a cruel killer without even a nip or three to soothe his conscience… to Erich, it sounds like brutality.
There’s a bit of a scuffle outside the tent, and the prisoners look up. Erich is at the back, leaning back against the rough frame of a cot he sleeps on at night, cards in his hands wrapped in strips of bandage cloth just for warmth. What happened to his gloves, he’s no idea. Probably one of the Allies took them for a souvenir.
The canvas wraps work well enough.
“Au garde-à-vous, prisonniers! Sur vos pieds!” Erich knows the voice - it’s the main guard of the tent they sleep in, a man named Alain who looks entirely too old for war. Here he is, anyway, all moustache and silvering hair, pulling open the entrance of the tent, moving the flap aside.
Erich glances left and then right, meeting the eyes of his fellow prisoners, and the half-dozen of them that share this single small tent push heavily to their feet, shifting apart as much as the tent will allow, hands behind their back.
His stomach dips, a low drumbeat of dread alongside his heart. Something tells him this isn’t a social call he wants to be part of.
He’s even more certain when a tall, thin American steps into the entrance, nearly silhouetted by the dim, barely-there light behind them. Their hair is long, in a loose plait with parts undone, and their eyes gleam, briefly seeming to glow in the dark. Erich is reminded of his mother’s cat, who would stalk mice at night and whose eyes did just the same when light hit them.
He feels very… mouselike.
They wear a medic’s uniform, but it’s a little tattered. There are unrepaired bullet holes through the heavy woolen tunic, and they move with grace and disdain for how heavy wet wool must be, how itchy and uncomfortable. As if it simply doesn’t matter to them.
Because, of course, it doesn’t. The damn thing is a walking corpse, baring fangs in a grisly smile.
“Hello, soldiers,” They say, in a voice that isn’t quite a purr. “You all look a fright.”
“Verdammte Blutsauger,” Lukas Müller mutters to his right.
Erich hates the bloodsuckers. Everyone does. They come with the Americans, monsters brought from the shadows as a kind of secret weapon. Erich has never seen vampires out in the open before - back home, they are creatures of hiding. They live in cellars and basements and houses with the windows painted in thick matte black. They sweep along the streets at night, a risk for anyone who stays out too late.
But they’re not part of anything.
Here, they’re death itself, demons quite at home in hell.
 Oh, sure, the Americans claim they use them only for bringing the injured back to safety - and some of them, he’s sure, are kept to that purpose. Some kind of ability to deny the truth of them, if there are enough seen doing only what the official story claims.
Erich, though, has seen one dispatching wounded German soldiers one by one left behind in a field, killing them before they can be recovered by their own people. He’s seen one with fangs buried in the throat of a man who would otherwise have lived. They’re listed as medics, but those things are what keeps the Germans on their own side of the battle lines after dark, and everyone knows it.
His own side brings canisters of poison gas. The Americans respond with an army laced around its edges in abominations the gas can’t touch.
The vampire sighs, faintly disappointed. “No good morning for me from my audience?”
Erich speaks the best English out of them all - his grandmother was English, taught it to his father in the cradle, who taught it to him. It’s made him more or less the spokesman for his small group of prisoners, and for the larger group when they are moved and briefly allowed to interact with the others. He clears his throat, stepping forward slightly. Lukas and Vilhelm, on his other side, nudge him just a little with their shoulders. It’s meant to be support, he supposes.
He feels like he’s being pushed onto a target painted on the floor, one invisible only to him.
“Good morning,” Erich says, voice flat, letting his accent roll far more heavily off his tongue than it needs to, turning good into gut. It’s always good to let the enemy believe you know less than you really do, so he pretends that English comes with difficulty and not ease. “Should you not turn to ash?”
Their eyebrows raise just slightly, not quite in amusement, and they give a brittle little laugh. “First off, Fritz, that’s a myth. Secondly, it’s not even morning. Probably close to evening now, honestly.”
Erich rolls his eyes. Lukas mutters something under his breath next to him, but the slight creaking of their boots seems to cover it too much to be understandable. Erich sighs, heavily. “Then why did you have us say to you good morning, Blutsauger?”
“Because it’s funny that you don’t know what time it is, of course. All right, who here is Fritz, who is Hans, and who am I just going to call Kraut?”
“No one here is named Hans and no one is Fritz, fangs.” Erich tips his chin down slightly, a lock of greasy brown hair falling into his eyes. “May you drown in holy water.”
He spits at the vampire’s feet.
He feels a pang of regret when the vampire turns to look at Alain, the French guard and points back at Erich, cheerful. “I want that one. He’s rude.”
“Das ist pech,” Lukas whispers.
When Alain simply stares at them blankly - and Erich knows Alain speaks English, they’ve spoken before in a tongue they had in common when neither spoke the other’s mother-tongue -  the vampire groans. They don’t seem to know Alain is pretending not to understand them. “Fine. Let’s try this again. Je veux cet homme, s'il vous plaît.”
Alain’s expression tightens a little. He nods, and he won’t look Erich in the eyes as he draws the entrance open a little wider. “Emmenez-le alors.”
“Merci beaucoup,” The vampire says, giving a little bow. Erich backs up, but there isn’t anywhere to go, and none of them is armed. Besides, any resistance is met with removal of meals, with being denied the smallest comforts that make this bearable. With the possibility of all of them being handed over to a vampire, not just one.
This war had been civilized, in some ways, before the Americans brought their monsters.
It’s not actually true, but in this moment it comforts him to pretend it, to have a place to put his furious disgust as the vampire’s thin, long fingers close around his arm and yank him forwards with inhuman strength. They’re clicking their tongue against the top of their mouth in a strange animal way. Erich thinks again of his mother’s cat, making just that sound watching birds outside the windows.
“May your hands be pressed into the holy cross,” Erich snaps as he’s forced out into the freezing humid air outside the tent. There are others walking around - a war camp is never less than controlled chaos, no matter the time of day - but none of them will look at him. No one acknowledges him, although they’ve all seen this before. They know what’s going to happen here.
“Je déteste ça,” Alain mutters.
A bell is rung, clanging in a discordant note, and soldiers move into the POW tents. Erich is led towards a pole in the center of the ring of prisoner tents, something that a half-century ago might still have been a flogging post, a punishment for mutinous men.
“Crosses don’t really harm us,” The vampire says, careless and casual. “Very little does, actually. I’m a big fan of garlic, for instance. Silver, though…” They hum, dragging a fingernail over Erich’s wrist. “That hurts.”
He jerks his hand back and free, only to have the vampire laugh, bright and brilliant, and grab him again, spinning him around until they’re behind him, chest pressed to his back, using that demon strength to twist his arms up his back until his bones creak and ache, forcing him forwards towards the pole.
“I hope you have silver shoved down your throat,” Erich manages, but his heart is pounding in fear as the vampire grabs his hair and jerks his head to the side, forcing his cheek against the rough-hewn wood. Splinters bite into his skin and he grunts as his arms are moved, forced to encircle the pole. His wrists are tied with rope, leaving him looking a little ridiculous, as if he decided today to go for a hug.
Another rope goes around his shoulders, keeping him in this awkwardly pressed position. He tries to kick back, pulling viciously, but then his ankles come next. The rope goes from them to small metal hooks driven hard into the ground, keeping his legs more than shoulder-width apart. He can’t kick, or even balance himself. He must rely entirely on the pole he’s tied to in order to stay upright.
“I’m going to enjoy you,” The vampire murmurs.
Behind Erich, the sounds of a crowd gathering begin. Soft mumbles, exhalations of surprise and disgust. He closes his eyes against the rush of heat he feels - more rage than tears - knowing the prisoners are being brought out to witness this, to be shown what could happen to them next.
It does an excellent job of making them grateful for every day it’s not.
The French commander of the POW camp is barking a running list of commands to his men, but Erich doesn’t speak enough French to clearly understand them. Someone comes close by behind him, and he jolts as there’s a clap to his back. There’s a laugh behind him, not the vampire but someone else.
He manages to see from the corner of his eyes. A different American, of course. Comfortable enough with the vampire to get this close to them.
“Isn’t this a sorry sight,” The American says, and laughs. “What’s the prize for, fangs?”
The vampire lifts their hand, gently brushing Erich’s hair from his eyes. He spits in their face, this time, and is gratified by a flash of very real anger that briefly overtakes their constant amusement. They slowly wipe the spit away, then clean their hand - sort of - on Erich’s uniform.
It’s so dirty they’re probably even less clean after that than they were before.
“Reported a desertion. Now I get fresh food.” They lean down, meeting Erich’s furious hazel eyes. “I’m so hungry, Fritz. All the time. Imagine being surrounded by schnitzel and cabbage as far as the eye can see, and you’re not supposed to eat your fill. Imagine how empty you would feel.”
“Fick dich.”
“What, you won’t even curse at me in English anymore?” The vampire pouts, lower lip sticking out. He hates them more than he’s hated anyone during this godforsaken war. “Come on, you have to understand how hard this is for me, right?”
Erich ignores them, jerks his wrists again, trying to yank himself free of the ropes through sheer force. His back already is aching from being slightly bent forward, his thigh muscles stretched. He does the only thing he can think of - he slowly, with effort, drags his face along the wood and manages to turn away, and look the other direction.
“Well, fine. I suppose you’ll be mad at me for acting like you all eat schnitzel and cabbage, too,” The vampire says behind him. He doesn’t dignify them with an answer. He fixes his eyes, instead, on a point in the dark roiling clouds in the sky, above the remaining trees.
“The prisoners are well-positioned to witness,” A French officer states, speaking with a light, dancing accent but without the difficulty and hesitancy some of the regular infantry have. “You may feed when ready, Private Saathoff.”
That gets Erich’s attention. “Saathoff?”
“That’s right.” The vampire laughs, stepping up behind him. Their fingers move through the hair that curls, grown a little too long, over the back of his neck. He shudders with disgust at the intimacy of it. Their mouth moves close to his ear, but there is no heat of breath. Only the brush of lips. “Ich bin Deustcher, genau wie du.”
“Nothing like me,” Erich grinds out with his teeth gritted together so hard his jaw is already aching. He presses his forehead into the rough wooden pole and closes his eyes. He takes a deep breath.
If he’s going to die…
“Vater unser im Himmel,” he begins, halting. He hasn’t seen the inside of a church since he was fourteen, and that was twelve years ago now. Still, the words to the Lord’s Prayer come easily, more muscle memory than thought. “Geheiligt werde dein Name. Dein Reich komme, Dein Wille geschehe, wie im Himmel so auf Erden-”
“Zu jeder anderen Zeit hätte ich dich als Haustier behalten.” They use his hair to jerk his head back, and their fangs jam into his neck with a flash of sudden agony.
It’s a white-hot pain that races down his spine to the very tips of his toes, and Erich screams, the sound strangled and thin but still echoing, bouncing off of trees and tents and back into his mind, crashing like the shells that slam into the earth.
Lukas jerks forwards as if to run to help him and is pushed back by one of the French soldiers, their expression set in a grim line. They have to twist Lukas’s arms behind his back to hold him as he shouts, angrily, that this isn’t fair, it’s against the laws of conduct.
There’s laughter, at that, from their captors.
The other prisoners grumble and shift uncomfortably, look at anything but Erich whenever they can, but they can’t escape the sound of his horror, of his pain.
There’s no pulse of the much-spoken-of venom. There’s no numbness to drift in, there’s no fog to cloud out his awareness of what is happening to him. Every muscle of Erich’s body is tensed tight enough to snap the bones they wrap around, the veins standing out in his throat as if giving them a roadmap of where the food can be found.
He didn’t know vampires could choose not to use the venom.
He didn’t know they could make it feel like this.
When his scream dies, he can’t get enough breath to make another. All he can do is let out high-pitched, thin whimpers and cries. Spots dance before his eyes. Beneath the sound of his heart pounding in a sudden panic to push more blood faster to replace what is being lost, he can feel - can hear - a low rumbling sound against his back.
Erich has heard the rumors that vampires purr, and now he knows they aren’t rumors at all.
He can feel it right through his back, just barely. It’s a vibration that would be pleasant if it didn’t seem to be somehow making everything hurt even worse, waking up his nerves the way the venom is supposed to deaden them. Their hands are closed around his ribs, pressing the tips of their fingers rhythmically against them, as if playing a piano, as if he is dough to be kneaded, as if he isn’t human at all.
As if he’s nothing but a field mouse that found his way into the wrong house, and the vampire is the housecat who has waited too long for a living toy to torment.
There is no prayer, in pain like this. There is no thought beyond the body’s fight for survival and the mind wanting to flee from it, if surviving means this feeling will not end. There is nothing but the feeling of his blood being pulled forcefully out of his body, nothing but his nerves screaming to escape it, nothing but the bite of the ropes that ensure he can do no more than jerk in his bonds and choke on his agony.
It feels like forever - and like a moment - when their fangs pull free, their cool rough tongue lapping at the wounds to close them, purring against his ear with contentment. Their fingers knead into his skin a little bit longer, drawing the moment out as he slumps against the wooden pole he’s tied to. He’s only standing because of the ropes.
Pain rolls through him, breaking against the edges of his body from the inside, like the smaller waves after a storm falling onto a beach already strewn with debris. He slumps. His own breath is a rasping wheeze, taking far more effort than it should.
Nein, Erich, Erich stirb nicht…” Lukas’s voice comes from somewhere so far away, filtering through the noise in Erich’s mind slowly. He can’t even begin to form a response. His mouth won’t answer his commands. It only hangs open, panting, pulling in the chilly air over his tongue. He starts to shiver as the breeze hits the cold sweat in his hair and on his neck, cuts through his uniform somehow.
He doesn’t have enough blood left to warm himself.
Their tongue licks up his neck behind his ear, matting his own blood into his hair there, sticky and hot. It starts to cool and dry immediately in the cold air. Erich’s stomach twists.
“Oh, he won’t die,” The vampire coos, petting through his hair slowly. Their nails scratch at his scalp. “Not today.” Their mouth presses back against his ear. “Thanks for the meal, Erich. And for being so entertaining. Maybe I’ll find you after the war. I’ll buy you a beer… and some schnitzel.”
They push themself away from him, turning away to wipe a bit of blood from the corners of their mouth, and walk with a jaunty step through an opening that appears in the ring of watching prisoners, whose eyes follow them with apprehension and no small amount of fear.
When Alain comes up to untie him, Erich simply collapses into the Frenchman’s arms as soon as he’s free of the ropes. Lukas is allowed to move up to stand at his other side, putting Erich’s limp left arm around his shoulders, while Alain supports his right. Erich lets his head fall into Lukas’s shoulder, hitching his breath as he forces down a sob.
“Wh… why do you let them do this?” He asks, his English slurred with the exhaustion that means he is dragged with his boots carving paths through the mud back towards the tent.
Alain is silent until Erich is dropped onto his cot, the hard frame digging into Erich’s back right through the thin mattress. He glances over his shoulder, the three of them alone in here for the moment, and then looks back.
“It is believed that this is how we will win,” He says, and pats Erich’s hand. “My apologies. I do not believe in the monsters, but I am not the one to run this war.”
“None of us are,” Erich says, weakly. He closes his eyes. “We are only the ones who must fight in it.”
There’s a pause, and Alain’s exhale is audible in the quiet tent. “I will ensure you are given extra meat rations tonight, and I will find you some schnapps. Essaye de dormir, maintenant, si tu peux,” he says with soft regret lacing his voice. Then there is a shuffle of footsteps, and he’s gone.
Lukas shifts and sits with his back to the cot, in the same position Erich was in before. He swallows, picking up the abandoned cards from the game they’d been playing, looking over Erich’s hand. “You’d have won, you know, on the next hand,” He says in German, before he reaches out to grab the others’ cards and reshuffle the deck.
“Do I still get my… my winnings?” Erich can barely move his lips to speak. He’s so tired. So, so tired. He can feel his hands starting to shake, now that it’s over, the trembling moving slowly up his limbs, stuttering his breathing.
“My share of the liquor? Not on your life.” Lukas pauses, and then his tone gentles as he looks Erich over again. “You know what... of course you can. You’ll need warmth. What did the bloodsucker say to you, anyway? I couldn’t hear.”
Erich thinks about the promise to find him after the war, about the way they spoke into his ear as if he were little more than a toy top to be spun at their command. In another time, I’d keep you for a pet, they had whispered, before they bit down.
He shakes his head, slowly. “Lies,” He answers, and feels the softer-edged darkness of sleep begin to take him.
“Lies?”
“I hope… I hope they were lies.”
For the moment, at least, he is too exhausted by the present to feel terror for the future.
“Carnival! Carnival! Carnival!”
Anne, Polly, and Sprig chanted excitedly in the back seat as Caroline drove, pumping their fists in the air. Caroline chuckled at their enthusiasm, while Hop Pop seemed a little uneasy.
“I don’t know, Caroline.” He said. “I got a bad feeling about this.”
“Hop Pop, you have a bad feeling about everything.” Caroline replied, glancing at him briefly. “It’s just a carnival; it’ll be fine.” Hop Pop didn’t seem convinced, his brows furrowed in worry as he stared out the window. Caroline picked up on it quick, letting out a small sigh.
“Alright, tell you what;” she said, “first sign of real danger and we’re out of there. Okay?” Hop Pop turned his gaze to her, his expression softening as he nodded. Shortly after, the young woman turned off the street and into the carnival parking lot, finding it was already pretty full.
“Dang, word spreads fast, huh?” Anne commented, looking around at the mass of cars. Murmurs of agreement came from Polly and Sprig, while Hop Pop still looked uneasy.
“I don’t know; maybe we should-” he tried, only for Caroline to put one hand over his mouth.
“Up up up, we’re not backing out.” She told him. After a few minutes of searching, they managed to find a spot and parked, climbing out and making their way to the gate.
“Whoa, this place is huge!” Sprig said in awe, eyes shining as he stared at the carnival before him. It was brightly lit with all different colours, and various exciting rides could be seen around the area.
“Dude, check out that roller coaster!” Anne called, pointing at a tall roller coaster at the other end of the park. This caught Caroline’s attention too, an excited smile forming on her face. Hop Pop, on the other hand, was looking around for signs of anyone else, but found the area they stood in to be empty.
“Place looks a little…deserted, don’t you think?” He commented. “Seems a little suspicious.” Caroline shot an annoyed glare his way, but before she could speak, someone else did.
“Welcome, welcome!” A voice suddenly spoke behind them, startling the group. They all spun around to see a small man standing behind them, being only slightly taller than Hop Pop. However, he was wearing a top hat that made him look twice his height, which was a deep purple colour and matched a nice suit he had on.
“The name’s Larry!” He introduced himself. “I’m the owner of this fine little carnival. It’s a pleasure to have you all here!”
“Oh, thank you!” Caroline spoke up first, relaxing and stepping up to meet him. He had a somewhat unsettling grin as he looked up at the young woman, his head tilting just slightly. Hop Pop felt something gnawing at his mind; a feeling that he knew this man from somewhere.
“Well, aren’t you a lovely young lady!” Larry said, adjusting his hat just slightly. Caroline raised her eyebrows, not expecting such a statement out of nowhere.
“Oh, uh-” she started, only for Hop Pop to step in between the two.
“Don’t even try to make advances on my second adopted granddaughter.” He said sternly. “She’s much too young for you!” The sudden outburst caused Larry’s smile to falter, as well as Caroline to give him a rather confused look.
“Hop Pop, I’m twenty, I can handle myself.” She told him. Hop Pop didn’t budge.
“Nope, no way.” He replied. “We’re leaving right now. Come on, everyone back to the car.” A chorus of protests rang out from Sprig, Polly, and Anne, which led to Caroline finally putting her foot down.
“Okay, that’s it!” She snapped, stepping in front of the old frog. “Hop Pop, you have done nothing but be paranoid and pessimistic, and we haven’t even been here for five whole minutes! You keep acting like every single thing here is out to get us, and even though I’ve lived here for twenty years, you treat me like I’m some helpless little-OW!” Her rant was cut off as she felt a sharp pain in the back of her neck, turning to see just what had caused it. There, sitting in Larry’s hand, was a small blue beetle with a glowing purple mushroom growing out of its’ head.
“What the- the hell is that?!” Caroline snapped. Hop Pop’s eyes went wide.
“That’s the mind-controlling mushroom from back in Wartwood!” He yelled, pointing at the bug. Now it was Caroline’s turn to panic.
“Mind WHAT?!” She hollered, managing the sentence just before she felt her mind go blank. Her body stumbled for a moment, lurching forward before she regained her footing and straightened up. Her eyes now glowed with an eerie purple light, and the others could see tiny purple mushrooms starting to grow from her head.
“CAROLINE!” The four cried in unison. Larry let out an evil chuckle, drawing their attention to him as he took his hat off to reveal a massive purple mushroom underneath.
“We meet again, old frog!” He announced dramatically. “You thought you could get rid of me, but I’ll always find a way to survive!”
“Oh, that is nasty!” Polly exclaimed, cringing at the sight of the giant mushroom.
“Let Caroline go, you creep!” Anne snapped. Larry turned her gaze on them, grinning madly as his eyes started to glow in the same eerie purple that Caroline’s were.
“On the contrary,” he said, stepping forward, “I think I’ll be keeping her. Just like the rest of the humans I’ve tricked! Assemble, my minions!” At his call, the sound of hundreds of footsteps made their way towards them, revealing an army of mind-controlled humans. All of them with the same purple eyes and small mushrooms growing out of their heads.
“I told you kids we shouldn’t have come here!” Hop Pop shouted.
“Not the time!” All three kids yelled back, shooting him the same annoyed glare. Larry had a malicious grin that was ear-to-ear, and setting the bug on his shoulder, he pointed at Anne and the Plantars.
“Get them!” He commanded. Caroline, being the closest to the group, rushed in and tackled Sprig to the ground. The small frog yelped in alarm as the taller woman pinned him, growling in an almost animalistic manner as a strange purple liquid dripped from her mouth.
“Sprig!” Anne leapt in to save her little brother, charging into Caroline and sending the both of them stumbling. Sprig remained lying on his back for a moment, but when he sat up, his eyes were purple.
“Sprig, no!” Hop Pop cried, but it was no use. The spores had seeped into his brain, rendering him stuck under the mushroom’s mind control.
“Hop Pop, we gotta run!” Polly shouted. Hop Pop looked around at the crowd closing in, seeing Anne still fighting with a mind-controlled Caroline.
“Anne! We need to go!” He hollered. Anne looked up as Hop Pop called her name, though this proved to be her fatal mistake as Caroline seized the opportunity and sunk her teeth into Anne’s arm.
“OW!” Anne screeched at the bite, tearing her arm away and seeing it covered in the same purple gunk. Before she could even try to wipe it away, it seeped into her skin, leaving only the mark of Caroline’s teeth there.
“Oh, this is not gonna end well.” She muttered, her stare going blank before her eyes turned purple.
“NO!” Hop Pop cried out as Anne became a mushroom-zombie, stepping back when she and Caroline both got to their feet and started walking towards him.
“Hop Pop, this would probably be the time to run!” Polly snapped him back to reality, tapping on his forehead. The old frog was quick to turn and run, only to find the exit was blocked by a wall of mind-controlled humans.
“It’s a dead end!” He exclaimed. Larry let out an evil laugh, approaching from behind and cornering the last two Plantars.
“Nowhere to run, Hopediah!” He mocked. “And now, I shall take over this city and rule the human world!” His mad cackle rang throughout the carnival as the mushroom-zombies closed in, leaving Polly and Hop Pop with nowhere to run.
“This is it.” Hop Pop muttered gravely. “This is the end.” The world around him soon became nothing but a glowing purple haze, the groans and mad laughter of Larry blending together until all fell silent.
——
GASP!
Hop Pop snapped upright in bed, a cold sweat on his forehead as he gasped for air. He looked around in a panic, taking a moment to get his bearings before he realized he was in the spare bedroom at Caroline’s house.
“It was just a dream.” He panted, a wave of relief washing over him. “Oh, it was all just a horrible dream.”
“Hey, Hop Pop!” Caroline’s voice suddenly called from downstairs. “We got tickets to an exclusive carnival! Do you want to come?”
Hop Pop froze, his left eye twitching before he screamed.
“NOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
Edit
Hellboy, or "Anung Un Rama" as he was called, was conceived on October 5,[1] 1617, the day his birth-mother, Sarah Hughes, a human woman, was on her deathbed. In life, Sarah was a witch who gained her powers from being a consort of the archdemon, Azzael, an Archduke of Hell, and Hellboy's "biological" father. Taking Sarah's body to hell when she attempted to repent on her deathbed within a church in East Bromwich, England, Azzael burned her away so their child would be born, and chopped off the newborn's right hand to replace it with the "Right Hand of Doom", a relic tied to the Ogdru Jahad. When the other princes of Hell learned of his actions, Azzael sent his half-demon child away while he was stripped of his powers and imprisoned in ice (like Lucifer in Dante's Divine Comedy).
The child is eventually summoned to Earth in the final months of World War II by the "Mad Monk" Grigori Rasputin on Tarmagant Island, off the coast of Scotland, having been commissioned by the Nazis to change the tide of a losing war ("Project Ragna Rok"). As a direct result of this ritual, the child appears on Earth in a fireball at what remains of the ruined Bromwich Church on December 23, 1944. Proving not to be a devil, in the traditional sense, but a devil-like creature, the child was dubbed "Hellboy" by Professor Trevor "Broom" Bruttenholm.[2]
Taken by the United States Armed Forces to an Air Force base in New Mexico, Hellboy is raised by Professor Trevor Bruttenholm in as normal a home environment as possible (and as a Catholic), and the United States Army where the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD) a private organization dedicated to combating occult threats, begins. Due to the success of his first mission in 1952, Hellboy is granted "honorary human" status by the United Nations and becomes a member of the BPRD as the "world's greatest paranormal investigator".[3] As such, Hellboy interacts regularly with humans, primarily law enforcement officials, the military, and various "scholars of the weird", most of whom are not presented as overtly reacting to his strange appearance.
As an adult, having matured physically within years yet aging slowly with a teenaged mind, Hellboy becomes the primary agent for the BPRD, alongside other human and quasi-human agents that include Kate Corrigan, a professor of folklore at New York University; Abe Sapien, an amphibian humanoid (Ichthyo sapiens); and Liz Sherman, a young pyrokinetic. Things change dramatically for Hellboy during the events of Seed of Destruction when he searches for Professor Bruttenholm after he disappears during an expedition in the Arctic. He finds his adopted father only to witness his death at the hands of a Lovecraftian frog monster. The search takes Hellboy, Abe, and Liz to the Cavendish Hall mansion, which is a trap established by Rasputin to lure Hellboy into an embrace of his own "destiny", with the assistance of Sadu-Hem; one of the spawn of the Ogdru Jahad. Controlled by the spirit of one of the ancestral Cavendish men, Abe impales Rasputin. Liz's firestorm then incinerates Rasputin's body alongside Sadu-Hem's and destroys Cavendish Hall. Soon after, during a visit to Bromwich Church, Hellboy gets a glimpse of his conception 300+ years ago and learns he has two human half-siblings; a nun and a priest whose spirits haunt the church after their deaths, attempting to stop Azzael from claiming Sarah.
During the events of Hellboy: Wake the Devil, Hellboy's journey of self-discovery leads him to Romania to investigate the theft of an ancient box containing the corpse of Vladimir Giurescu, a Napoleonic officer who was, in fact, a vampire before he was "killed" on the order of a fearful Adolf Hitler. The culprit of the theft is revealed to be Ilsa Haupstein, one of the surviving members of Project Ragna Rok, who was revived from suspended animation and then aided in Giurescu's resurrection. Finding Castle Giurescu after splitting up with the other search groups, Hellboy learns that the source of Giurescu's rebirth is the ancient goddess Hecate. Though Hellboy destroys Hecate's original body, he faces her again after Rasputin unintentionally provides her with Ilsa's iron-maiden encased body. Hecate swallows Hellboy, but he returns to his own reality after he denounces the dark purpose he was born to perform.
Hellboy later learns that Liz is dying after losing her powers when she accidentally revived a homunculus while searching another location for Giurescu, finding Roger in the events of Hellboy: Almost Colossus as he convinces the homunculus to save Liz's life. Following the events of Hellboy: The Right Hand of Doom, gaining insight about his stone hand and being referenced as a harbinger of the Apocalypse, Hellboy is accompanied by Abe to hunt down the warlock Igor Bromhead in Box Full of Evil. But it turned out to be a trap conducted by Bromhead and the demon Ualac to capture Hellboy, using his True Name, Anung Un Rama, to restrain him, so that the latter can claim Hellboy's normally invisible Crown of the Apocalypse to increase their power. But this act, however, proves to be counter-productive, as it allows Hellboy to no-longer be controlled by his true name, Anung Un Rama (as one of the translations of this name is, lit. "and upon his brow is set a crown of flame"; with the theft of his crown, the name is no longer accurate), and he kills Ualac's mortal body before the demon and the crown is taken to Hell by the archdemon, Astaroth, who is later revealed to be Hellboy's paternal uncle.
In the aftermath of Hellboy: Conqueror Worm, assisted by the ghost of Lobster Johnson, Roger, and Abe, a disillusioned Hellboy resigns from the Bureau before it later gains new agents in Johann Kraus, the spirit of a German medium kept in a containment suit; and Captain Ben Daimio, a special operations soldier that became an Olmec were-jaguar. From there, Hellboy decides to find out the truth of his existence once and for all. But, as revealed in Hellboy: Strange Places, Hellboy ends up being stranded on an island where he inadvertently resurrected an ancient mystic who gained knowledge of the secret history of the creation of Ogdru Jahad and the Right Hand of Doom.
6 years later, as Hellboy: Darkness Calls opens, Hellboy's search takes him to England where he finds himself in the middle of a power vacuum caused by Bromhead incapacitating Hecate in Italy. Refusing to serve the witches as their king, Hellboy ends up in the dimension of Baba Yaga, a witch whom he encountered in the past and happens to be an ally of Rasputin's. Managing to defeat Baba Yaga's champion Koshchei, Hellboy returns to his reality and is led to Bromhead after he became monstrous and in agony from his attempt to take Hecate's powers for his own. Hellboy gives Bromhead a merciful death before returning to England during the events of Hellboy: The Wild Hunt where he encounters Alice Monaghan, a young woman he saved as a baby from a fairy named Gruagach who has revived the lunatic sorceress Nimue to fill the void left by Hecate.
During that time, Hellboy encounters the spirit of Morgana le Fay who reveals to Hellboy both the names of his parents and that Sarah Hughes was her descendant, which names Hellboy as the last living heir to Arthur Pendragon and the rightful king of England.[4] But as he also learns from Astaroth that he is destined to kill Satan and become the new King of Hell, Hellboy is reluctant to wield Excalibur (which in his hands becomes a flaming sword) and the army of undead British nobility amassed to face Nimue's army. Therefore, enlisting Baba Yaga's assistance with his eye as payment for the injury he did to her in their first meeting, Hellboy decides to face Nimue one-on-one in the events of Hellboy: The Storm and the Fury. But in the aftermath of his battle with Nimue, who was possessed by Ogdru Jahad at the time, Hellboy is killed by the witch in her final moments. As revealed in Hellboy in Hell, Hellboy ends up trapped in Hell, where he encounters what's left of his demonic kin and the souls of the damned, and ultimately comes to terms with the destiny he has been shrugging off his whole life. Hellboy later returns in the mini-series BPRD: The Devil You Know, revived and joining Liz and Abe in the final arc of the series. After defeating Rasputin again, he and Hecate see the fall of the Ogdru Jahad and get back the Right Hand of Doom from the Osiris Club, killing them. Despite their efforts, however, Ragnarok is fulfilled and most of humanity is destroyed. In the end, Hellboy and Hecate fuse together to create a new world on Earth
Flora Headcanons:
Tumblr media
Guys, meet the Sugar and Sweet part of the Winx Club.
Or, as you already know her: Flora La Rosa of Linphea.
Under the cut are the headcanons because again, these get long. (Also some I’ve mentioned before, I think, but whatever. And again, these are mostly for my main verse ‘Balance/The New Company of Light’ and for ‘Left’.)
-Flora has a rather large family, one that stems partially from cousins adopted after the Great War of Magic ended. (So many were displaced or orphaned, and her family was just one of many who took in the children left behind.)
-Honestly though, she really just sees her immediate family often, the rest of them coming around only for major Linphean holidays. (Though they all stay in touch through letters, phone calls, and social media. Especially the cousins.)
-Flora tends to be closer to her father as they share a similar sense of humor and have similar hobbies (like leaf surfing and giant ladybug racing). But her magic took after her mother’s and her mother was her first magic teacher.
-(She was a bit late getting her magic and a bit late getting her wings. She was eight when her magic came in and already 13 by the time her wings sprouted. Though she wasn’t surprised, as her mother had been a late ‘winger’ too.)
-Flora’s mother is the Guardian Fairy of Linphea and helps run the Main GreenHouse alongside the Nymph of Linphea and the royal family. Thanks to Alyssa’s job, Flora got to meet and assist all sorts of people from her realm. (Including the witch triplets who went to Cloud Tower; Euphorbia, Ververine, and Gerbera. And Princess Krystal.)
-Rhodos works with a faction of conservationists in Linphea to keep endangered animals (and plants) alive. He mainly works with the magiwolves of Linphea and tries to keep their numbers where they’re supposed to be. And because of his job, he ended up adopting a young magiwolf pup they named Amarok.
- (They weren’t going to keep him… They weren’t. But because he was born a different pigment than his littermates, his mother had abandoned him and… Rhodos couldn’t very well leave him to die. Besides, Amarok is nothing more than an overgrown lapdog. Usually.)
-Miele was born when Flora was about six or seven, give or take a few months. And yes, there was a touch of jealousy when Miele first came home because Flora didn’t understand why her parents weren’t spending as much time with her.
-Her parents were quick to pick up on her anxieties about the new baby and started incorporating Flora into assisting with Miele’s care. (Like reading and playing with her while Alyssa made dinner and helping her toddle around the family’s garden while naming off the plants.)
-Honestly, they grew up close and Flora became like a second mom to Miele. (Which would later turn into a minor annoyance as Miele got older, but that’s fine. They’re working through that.)
-Sibling shenanigans still occurred however, like Miele taking and reading Flora’s diary or Flora planting frogs or bugs into her sister’s room. (Or the Great Baking War that Alyssa refuses to let them live down.)
-Flora’s paternal grandmother, Nana Rose, is close to her family and has been living with them since her husband, Poppop Miden passed away.
-She’s a witch who works at the local clinic, her focus is on potions. (Which she passed on to Flora and has tried to teach her everything she knows about them… And everything she knows on poisons too because sometimes a poison is necessary.)
-And yes, Nana Rose did have hope that at least one of her granddaughters would be a witch, but she’s still proud of them. Wings and all.
-Flora has a hidden angry side. It doesn’t come out much and she does her best not to show it often, but she has a major temper when she does slip and let it out. She will unleash her will into the plant life around her and have it come for whoever pissed her off. Or if she’s really feeling it, she may just go in for a physical attack. The girl can pack a punch. (Granted, this only happens in situations where loved ones are in danger.)
-Flora is the only one from her elementary and middle school friend group that went to a Magix School. Most of her friends went to the Linphean Academy.
-She’s the tallest in her main friend group, standing at 5’7.
-She’s one of the Mom friends in the group, the other being Tecna. (She’s the more empathetic and emotional mom friend. Tecna’s the ‘well you fucked around and found out the hard way’ mom friend.)
-Flora wasn’t too sure about Chatta being her pixie at first, but is beyond grateful for the pixie helping her come out of her shell more.
-They now attempt to have weekly (though it’s sometimes monthly) tea parties to catch up on everything.
-Flora doesn’t really ‘do’ competitive sports often, but leaf surfing is the best thing ever and it’s one of the few sports she’s better at than Layla. (Though she does have the advantage of being Linphean and getting to leaf surf regularly…)
-Flora is a romantic and enjoys the ‘rom-com’ things; walks on the beach, silly moments around the town, dancing in the rain. But that shouldn’t mean she’s not careful with her heart. She’s empathic (as many Linpheans are) and is good at reading people when meeting them. So unless you’ve got a ‘beautiful’ soul, she’s not going to be interested.
-Flora loves that her friends are from such vastly different places because it means she can learn more about the realms from people who actually live there. (And teach her their languages, though she’s only really fluent in Solarian and conversational in the others.)
-She’s a spiritual person, as many from Linphea are. Flora believes that just like plant life, all life is connected by an invisible root system and that life is precious and should be treated with respect. (However, she also recognizes that there are those who have ‘tainted spirits’ and need to be dealt with so they don’t harm others.)
-Flora’s not exactly shy. She’s just shy around new people. But once she gets to know you and considers you a friend, you’ll find she has no problem speaking her mind. (And sending random things to you over the phone because they made her think of you.)
-There’s a misconception that she, and other Linpheans, are vegetarian. That’s not entirely true. Linpheans do eat meat: fish. They don’t have it often, only for certain occasions, but they do eat it.
-Flora also doesn't mind dirt or getting dirty. (But there is a difference in natural dirt and gunk. Okay? And gunk sucks.)
-Flora doesn't swear often, but she has let a few slip out from time to time. Usually in heated or emotional or upsetting moments.
-Her favorite parts of an Linphean holiday are getting to spend time with her family. She loves it when they all get together and enjoy each other.
-Like most Linpheans, Flora is immune to most poisons. She’ll likely feel a touch of nausea or a minor headache when poisoned, but due to her immune system, she’ll be perfectly fine within a few hours.
-Despite the fact she’s usually the one trying to talk the others out of dangerous situations, doesn’t mean she’s actually afraid of them. Sneaking into another school, fighting through a realm of shadow creatures, going toe-to-toe with magical terrorists; those don’t phase her.
-No, her real fear is something a bit more… Relatable. She’s scared of losing her loved ones. The thought of having her magic and being able to do such incredible things, but not being able to save her family or her friends just absolutely shakes her to core. (Especially in her nightmares when she’s forced to watch them die and she can’t do a thing to save them.)
-(Freshman year really fucked her up when they were fighting the Army of Darkness/Decay. There was a moment she thought she’d lost Musa and Tecna and she nearly broke down. Thankfully, the other two fairies managed to recover with a few of Palladium and Ofelia’s healing salves, but it was touch and go.)
-Flora can’t stand bullies. Granted, not many people like bullies or tolerate them, but Flora just can’t stand for someone to pick on anything that can’t fight back. It’s why she’s managed to enchant a few endangered plant species to being able to speak up and fight back against those who want to pick them apart and why she’s always ready to take on the Trix.
-Flora was the one who helped catch Bloom up on some of the most important aspects of the Magical Dimension (or at least the parts that Stella glossed over or that Tecna overexplained to the point of making it sound alien even to Flora). In return, she learned so much about Earth culture… She was stunned.
-(And fell in love with Earth’s versions of disaster movies. She likes to show other Linpheans and be like “see, if we don’t start really helping the other realms with the ecological problems, this will happen here too.”)
-(Bloom may have also gotten Flora hooked on those ‘hidden camera’ shows... It’s a guilty pleasure.)
-Flora’s got a major sweet tooth. Major. Which is fine because the girl is great at baking. (The other girls are always excited to taste test.)
-Flora’s not quite as delicate as others make her out to be. Yes, her hands are soft despite being in dirt and soil 80% of the time (Linphean lotions are awesome), and yes she’s good a giving that gentle touch to her plants, but she’s physically stronger than she appears. She can lift 50 pound bags of fertilizer with little issue. She’s pretty handy with a shovel (and not just for digging, which her poor cousin Marlow found out when a prank went wrong). And she’s not ‘razer thin’. She has decent muscle mass and is a bit on the broad side. Doesn’t make her any less graceful in the air or on the ground.
-In a fight, she tries to be more defensive than offensive because she doesn’t want to get in Bloom, Layla, or Stella’s way. And she finds her spells work better as traps than as an offensive maneuver. That said, if she feels her friends are in extreme danger, she will not hesitate to call on the Plant Life around them for help. (And she’s known for getting physical too, so watch out for that.)
-Aside from Layla, Flora feels a connection to Roxy. The younger girl’s passion about animals makes her think of her father and she does her best to encourage Roxy to use her passion in her magic.
-Bloom introduced Flora to the game Minecraft. For the first time, Flora understands why Tecna gets so involved in her videogames. (Please send help, she may be addicted. But her farm is looking amazing.)
-Flora doesn’t really worry about fashion, preferring to go by what she feels is comfortable, but she has a hard time saying ‘no’ to Stella when the other fairy has ideas. (Which usually turn out to be beautiful and comfortable and really, Flora just has the best friends.)
-Flora enjoys the nights when all six Winx Club girls can just hang out and be normal for a few hours. Sleepovers, Truth or Dare, movies and junk food. She loves it.
-She got close to Mirta while the other girl was a pumpkin, even finding a way to communicate despite the spell. After the spell was broken and during their sophomore year, Flora was one of the students who helped show Mirta around and made sure she was comfortable. They often talk and catch up. (And yes, Flora did have a hand in helping push Mirta and Lucy together. She regrets nothing.)
-Flora has thought about a tattoo. Many people on her realm get them, though it’s not a requirement nor does it give any extra magical benefits. She just doesn’t know what to get and she wants it be special. (All she knows is where she’d put it, over her burn scar from the Wizards.)
-At her time at Alfea (and in her middle school), Flora was part of the Student Council and Eco Club. She did her best to help make her schools a little more ‘green’ and energy proficient. (Tecna was a big help in coming up with a design for more efficient electrical equipment.)
-Out of all the girls, Flora has the hardest time connecting to Musa with convergence. Their personalities and magical abilities tend to clash from time to time, so they need to really strike a feeling of harmony before trying.
-Bloom is the easiest to converge with. They shared a room and often had so many late-night chats that their auras and feelings just naturally come together when needed.
-Out of all the girls, she’s the most likely to continue living on Earth. She finds the realm so fascinating. (It was a magically dead planet that kept on living... Just.... how?)
-Flora’s current goal in life is to start the revival process of other dead realms in the Magical Dimension. She feels that if she and her friends can resurrect Domino, bring ShadowHaunt back to its former glory, and bring magic back to Earth, they should be able to handle bringing others back to life too.
