Tumblr media
pairings : big sister!shuri x fem!reader x big brother!t'challa
warnings : ooc characters(?).
authors note : this is not a ship fanfic. everything is completely platonic, just pure sibling relationship<3.
Tumblr media
GROWING UP !
— you were only 2 years younger than shuri, so of course, it wasn't difficult for you two to get along.
— compared to your sister, you didn't have very strong ambitions. But even so, you were taught how to rule a nation by your mother when you were younger, and when you were prepared enough, she took you to train to be a Dora Milaje member.
— you were a fairly calm and obedient child back then, and even since you grew into a fine woman.
— you didn't have an interest in fighting whatsoever, but it did cross your mind that you'd end up needing the skills to fight. But you didn't complain and go against your mother.
— there weren't that much things that interested you as a kid. Your sister and brother often picked on you(playfully) for it.
— shuri even tried to get you to be interested in her ambitions, saying that it's 'fun' and 'an opportunity to learn something new'.
— you weren't adventurous, smart like shuri, nor would you be strong like t-challa. Sometimes, as you grew older, you think if you could've done something more than just train to be in an elite group. But despite those, something sparked inside you and motivated you to be the strongest amongst all the members of the Dora Milaje.
BONDING WITH SHURI !
some big brother t'challa scenes<3
— it's awfully loud when there's two of you in the same room. Like seriously, it's just filled with Shuri laughing at your jokes. Everyone sees you as 'the calmer one of the siblings' but boy.. when you're with those 'siblings' its like someone released a whole mammal out their cage.
— despite not understanding half she's saying, you still go visit shuri in her lab to keep her company. She's just yapping to you about what she's doing, while you just nodded, pretending like you understood what the hell she's saying.
•   "(name)? Are you listening or no?"
•   "I am. But I don't understand."
•   "It's fine, at least you're listening."
— whenever her brother is doing something, or is busy, you'd be the one training her some fighting abilities. You aren't as skilled like your brother, goodness no, he's the black panther for Pete's sake, but you are strong. Somewhat.
— shuri always supports and cheers for you whenever you're about to go to your training. Boy, the proudness she felt when she was told that you were slowly beginning to be more skilled the passing days. She's not lying, Okoye said it herself.
— tackles you in hugs almost everytime she's overly enthusiastic to see you.
•   "Stop that. You act like our rooms aren't next to eachother."
•   "I missed you!"
•   "we see eachother everyday!"
— okay but listen to this. The over protectiveness that randomly summoned inside her when she heard that you were getting marriage proposals.
"atrocious!" You and your mother deadpanned at her reaction, side eyeing eachother blankly. "(name), whatever you must do, do not even look at those proposals, okay?!"
— yeah it was a wild experience.
— besides that, shuri is a great sister. She loves you but literally acts like she's the youngest. Seriously, you mightve heard that she's older and you're younger, but when you see these two and know the personally, you'll end up doubting yourself.
— even your own brother said it himself.
•   "Shuri, stop clinging onto your sister like a wild monkey climbing up a tree."
•   "What?"
•   "brother said to stop climbing me like you're a monkey."
— ooh, have I mentioned that you're a great dancer? If not, you're a very great dancer! Dora Milaje members are probably all great dancers if you must say so yourself.
— growing up, shuri was probably your favorite person who ever walked the soil of earth. And then your brother follows right behind her, and then your parents, and then—
— when it's the three of you combined, it's like the whole definition of the word 'chaos'. In the end of the day, T'challa is tired as hell, Shuri went to drain more of her energy in her lab work, and you? Already fell asleep.
— despite being a whole menace the three of you were, mama Ramonda and papa T'chaka were proud of what you three have achieved.
Tumblr media
i am very tired<\3 still figuring out my layouts for headcanon posts, so this one is kind of messy rnn. this is also my first time writing about sibling relationships, especially in readers pov so I'm sorry if it's cringey oml😭

The Legendary Akira Toriyama’s impact
I needed an extra day to gather my thoughts before I wrote this. What do I even say about man who has literally help morph me into the person I am today. Some may think it’s a little odd to get emotional over a person you have never met or better yet even seen in the public eye. Mr. Toriyama was a really private man that even people who worked on his project have never met him, but some how his worked has touched and influenced millions across the world. You can hate Dragon Ball, but you cannot deny its influence on not only manga/anime, but pop culture in general. No other series had athletes throwing kamehamehas as celebrations, or rappers using a super saiyan bar in their flow. This man’s doodle of a little monkey kid has made it all the way to nationally watched Macy’s day parade as a float! Referenced constantly in other cartoons, anime, and video games. He set the standards for transformations in anime with the creation of “Super Saiyan”, a very subtle change of the hair (something he was really good at) became iconic and many series followed it. Gear 5, 6 path sage Mode, Super Sonic, all influenced by Toriyama.
Tumblr media
I have to talk about my own personal attachment to Mr. Toriyama’s work. I wouldn’t be the man I am today without Dragon Ball coming into my life. If I didn’t catch Dragon Ball randomly on a Saturday morning in the late 90s and then a littler later with Z premiering on Toonami who knows if I’d even be watching anime today. As a kid growing up I was hooked, I couldn’t consume enough DB content. Goodbye Power Rangers, Goku and the Z Fighters were my new heroes. Running home after school to see how Goku was gonna overcome the odds was an event everyday! Going to Suncoast (a true throwback IYKYK) and picking up the overpriced VHS tapes just to watch stuff from a 20 episodes ahead of the Toonami broadcast and sharing it with my friends made me the coolest kid on the block. Going online and printing out cool pictures of Trunks, Broly, Majin Vegeta (before they debut on American soil) and putting them in front of of my school binder was a time. The posters, figures, videos games, t shirts that my mom and now myself has spent on this product is a little ridiculous, but I wouldn’t change it.
Tumblr media
This loss has hit me harder than any celebrity passing in awhile. This is a MJ, Kobe level loss for me. Toriyama sama I know that you didn’t interact with fan, but I hope you could see the impact you have made in this world. My other favorite Mangaka made their manga because of you. I’ve met life long friends because of you, I’m on this app weekly livebloggin anime because of you. So many people love your work and that goes beyond Dragon Ball. Dragon Quest, Dr. Slump, Jaco, Blue Dragon, and so much more of your work will forever be celebrated. You are a true legend and will never be forgotten. Thank you for everything you’ve given us. Rest well
_Sincerely a fan 🐉

The unfulfilled promise of ‘We shall overcome’

We shall overcome is a promise unfulfilled, for all races discriminating against each other. Protests converting into mini-wars, demonstrations of anger over unjust murders arousing violent acts. Will we overcome, or will we perish from our differences? This essay will pinpoint the hardships African-Americans have endured from the past and still now.
My experience of injustice has been through the tales of family members. My father isn’t the most expressive, but very outspoken when it comes to racism. When my mom was pregnant, a friend of hers had a crib that she was going to give my mother. She came over and my father stared intently at the crib. He politely declined the gift, because he felt strongly against his son sleeping in a bed with a monkey bed sheet. I was confused as to why my father turned down the gift, and we discussed how black people had been stigmatized as monkeys. I was appalled, but thankful my father provided me with the proper context. My grandfather is also very vocal about race. My brother and I were relaxing on a summer afternoon, as we chatted about an invitation to a picnic. My grandfather was displeased and we engaged in a three-hour discussion on the word picnic as a racial slur defined as pick-a-n—.
Injustice has always existed, like Emmett Till’s story. He was cruelly treated during and after his life; beaten because of Carolyn Bryant’s deceitfulness. Till was brutally murdered and the assailants on trial were found “not guilty,” although sufficient evidence and witness testimony was provided. The “Emmett Till Lyching Law” was passed in 2022, 59 years after his mother fought diligently for justice.
Racial slurs are disrespectful and unjust for our race. Martin Luther King Jr. fought for civil rights peacefully. Rosa Parks started a bus boycott because of her courage to not give up her seat. Malcolm X, Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman are also notable social justice leaders. They allowed us to not have to endure the segregation they faced. We now discredit their fight by using slurs in our everyday lives. Black people use the n-word freely and carelessly. It is in songs like Insecure and Put it Down by Jasmine Sullivan and we affiliate each other with that word.
We need change through government intervention. George Floyd, who died from police violence, didn’t get justice. We should implement the “George Floyd Police Law” that if an officer brutally murders anyone, that officer loses status, serves jail time, or cannot participate in a criminal case. A National Acceptance Day could join other cultures and celebrate their traditions.
In conclusion, African-Americans have received only some of their freedom and still encounter racism. My family has shown me how slurs impact our daily lives today. Emmett Till has shown us that unjust acts will always happen no matter the time period. I know that with the help of authorities we can contain racism. We shall overcome, and we have, but we still have obstacles.

Desserts are one of the major parts of people's dietary consumptions. Anyone likes to add creamy desserts to their everyday meals. With the endless techniques of today's kitchen, people use new techniques to prepare creamy dishes. They are cream chargers. Your entire capture page is for that sole reason of offering the customers something of worth in return for their information. Potentially come by way of a "Free Report", a "Newsletter", Free Training Series".you get my drift. Also using the you have something so irresistible, they will opt - in. The fear of loss comes into play because going always be telling individual.Hey what if I don't check out this. The greater the value, the greater your response will possibly be. Even though I knew I've never done anything close to what was being asked of me I figured in myself, and knew that essentially can Think it, website can create it, which has not always been the container. In my past I've been know to sabotage my success as lack of confidence in myself also my skills, but today is a new day! Not necessarily did I complete the project I went far beyond my clients wildest deliverables. #3 - Temple Run / Temple Run:Brave - Another game that I've reviewed before and I still find myself playing it at times. Project Awakening PC Game inside the first game is that you're most likely running away from the a group of monkey. things after what I'm guessing is robbing a forehead. Temple Run features tilt, swipe, and tap controls with each doing an unfamiliar thing. Having Project Awakening Codex up system as well as utilities that may grant various bonuses helps keep you heading back. The DLC is still around, but it's not always a necessity to buy anything to put fun playing the mission. It looks like Temple Run: Brave is simply reskinned version of the sport featuring characters from current Pixar movie "Brave." Irrrve never given that version a download just yet but when i do, I'll update the review with my responses. Completely refitted in 2009, endless Summer had been fitted with electrical and mechanical equipment of geared towards types be sure its reliability and safety. It has zero speed stabilizers, which offer ultimate comfort levels for rest. It's pretty simple to perform math. Just figure Project Awakening PC Game per minute for each shower head and 1 gallon each minute per each body spray. Look at the literature for that brand heater you have decided you're and find the output in gallons each (GPM) at the temperature rise you will be required. A 60 degree rise will pay for most situations, find your winter cold water hot and cold temperature. Make sure you will adequate flow volume to do the job from one unit. If not you have to have two. These figures are pretty close for tubs and showers less than 10 years old, if your's are older this can be a good idea to measure how much water they are putting playing. Just use a bucket which includes watch along with a second manually. Endless Ocean is not your typical game with enemies to kill and levels to beat, but that doesn't mean it's boring. It's an exploration game that holds your attention if you allow it chance and will surely educate you on ocean life if to complete. It's a pretty laid back game and when you're a laid back person who loves ocean life or National Geographic or if you just wish to try something new, Endless Ocean end up being for you. If you're not in to these types of games, it does look boring at first glance. However, if you give it a try, additionally post get lost in Endless Ocean for days.

Zeke loved coffee, everyday for the past month he’d walk right into the coffee shop right before work started, ordering his favourite coffee and waiting in the seat right beside the window. The atmosphere smelled of crushed coffee beans, the cakes and desserts that were behind glass. Zeke loved coffee especially when the pretty barista with locks that framed her face perfectly was the one to take his order and give him the coffee cup with the perfect heart in it. He loved coffee like an addict does opium, he loved the way it sat on his tongue, the way it looked at him with such lust. The way it’d be gone in a matter of seconds in one rash blink.
You knew the man’s routine so often that when he’d be running late a hurt was felt through your body. Zeke and you both knew that the constant glances in the half an hour he stayed at the window seat, the lingering touches as you grabbed the empty coffee cup to get him another was wrong. But even then how could he resist you, the way your eyes spoke so much in just a mere glance. He felt infatuated beyond belief but there was one thing in his way of pursuing anything with you, your boyfriend.
With his unkempt hair and smell of weed always around him, Zeke didn’t understand why someone as delightful and pretty as you would go for someone who looked off his head. He was unemployed from what Zeke had gathered; he knew if you were with him you wouldn’t have to work this job. You could stay at home and be his, you wouldn’t have to worry about making ends meet as long as you stayed by his side.
Even with your boyfriend being a minor factor in his mission to get you, he left the same words on the napkin each day, he always left as soon as you went into the back to restock the cupcakes and savoury desserts. The napkin placed on top of the empty mug, you hated how much influence the man had on you.
You had had many conversations with him when work got slow which occurred a lot when he came in the early mornings. But even then his insistence that you’d come to him was prevalent, maybe you did have a crush on the man, he was older by a couple years, established in life, had the stability and security you and your boyfriend never had and worst of all. He had the ability to flirt with you so easily even with the risk of your boyfriend around, Zeke may have respected the position of your relationship with another, but he would never give up on you as easily as you had expected him too.
It was another early morning, you stood behind the counter, watching Zeke in his tight suit, the white shirt unbuttoned as his suit jacket swayed with the wind. The cigarette that he had in his mouth being chucked to the ground as he stepped on it putting it out. The sound of the door jingling made you plaster on a smile at the blond boy who came with a small smirk on his face. “Hello, what can I get for you today, Zeke?” The place was pretty much empty, it hadn’t hit the morning shifts yet and you assumed Zeke started working a lot earlier than the rest of the city. You were the only one at the counter as your colleague had gone to make some food for when the breakfast rush came.
“Morning Y/n, can I have a white coffee and your number on the side?” He spoke the last part confidently with his lip twitching upwards at how you shook your head.
“Nice try Zeke, anything else you need?”
He paused thinking as he stared at you, you looked so delicate and pretty, all the things he could do to you flashed through his head. Maybe it was sleazy to think such crude thoughts but what you didn’t know didn’t harm you, right? “You, if possible.”
“I’ll have your drink made in a couple minutes, Zeke.” You chuckled out, he loved the way you said his name, the way you gave that soft touch as he passed you the money. Your fingers gliding against his own, he took his normal seat watching you pour the hot liquid into the cup, he knew you’d give him another heart like you normally did. You always did concentrate too much on the finer details, you took the cup and plate that went under it bringing it to the man. Placing it down, Zeke saw the heart as you gave him a soft smile, “what you working on now?” You questioned knowing nobody else was going to come in.
You took the seat opposite him, the papers in his hand that looked really important, “foreign affairs, all hush hush, but for a pretty girl like you I could tell you the details.”
“Wouldn’t that be a national security issue?” You folded your arms raising an eye at the man, he gave off this presence of confidence and knew exactly what he was doing with his life. A stability that seemed ever so far away from you, you had often imagined what dating a man like Zeke would be like, how you could work full time at university instead of part time, how you could come home to warmth rather than weed. “Tell me more about what you do.”
You leant your head against your arm as you often spent mornings listening to him ramble on about his career, nodding and humming along whenever the time came. He seemed to enjoy speaking about his work, you could listen to it forever, you nodded almost love struck as the man spoke. Your work colleagues often saying you looked like a girl who was talking to her first crush. “One day I’ll show you what we’re working on.” You nodded at the false promise, one day he’d forget about the barista, he'd become too big, too important for a girl who had nothing going for her than an alcoholic weed smoking loser.
“Promise.” You hadn’t meant to whisper the words, but Zeke gave a soft smile.
He watched how you put your hands out, away from your chin as you leant backwards, grabbing your hands he looked you dead in the eye, “I don’t lie to pretty girls.”
You gave another chuckle, seeing how your eyes went to the arriving customers, the rush about to occur. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” You walked away without another word, he watched you go into the back to help bring some of the new produce. Quickly bringing his pen out as he wrote the words onto the napkin, you’ll be mine one day, in his cursive handwriting, his initials were underneath before leaving it beside the empty coffee. Grabbing his stuff as he left just as customers began to barge past to get their morning fix, he took one last look inside seeing you happily smile and take their money, before finally walking away.
You had managed to hand out the coffee cups to those in a hurry before starting to clear tables, taking the napkin Zeke left, the same words every day. Maybe if you had outright told him to stop he would, but the excitement each day you got from the romantic gesture filled your heart. You didn’t know what had gone wrong in your relationship with your boyfriend, maybe it was the drugs or his loss of job. Maybe you had fallen out of love and he had notices, his lying and pleas to make you stay by him. The manipulation and deceit something you wouldn’t get from Zeke; you stuffed the napkin in your pocket ready to put it with the 28 other napkins you had.
Keeping all safe within a box in your bedroom, the fear that arose from being caught with it all. Maybe it was emotional cheating but in a relationship like your own maybe you deserved better, you wiped your hands on your apron. Everything has subsided as you and your colleague went on your break as your manager took over.
“I see how you look at Zeke, just break up with your shitty boyfriend.” She said taking a sip of her coffee, you had your own in your hand thinking about the man.
“I can’t, he needs me.”
She raised her eyebrow at the comment, “he needs a fix and therapy, Y/n, I might sound like an ass right now, but all your boyfriend thinks about is getting his dick wet, getting high and getting drunk.”
There was truth in your friends words and as your break ended, you gripped the napkin tighter than you had imagined. Staring at the eloquent writing, the way he wrote Z and Y, even his handwriting seemed perfect. You took a sharp breath realising that in the 29 days you had known Zeke, he had provided more love and warmth than the man you had been dating for years now. You needed to break up with him, needed to confess to Zeke that his crush wasn’t one sided.
Just as the café closed up, you nimbly parted ways from your friend as you began to walk to your apartment. You knew what was to occur, your boyfriend on the couch high with his friends beside him, you really didn’t want to go back. You felt your phone begin to ring as you answered it to hear the drunken shouting of your boyfriend, you didn’t even bother with the words instead hanging up. Clinging the napkin between your fingers, you walked a different direction, towards the offices that Zeke had so often told you about.
You didn’t know what you would do once you arrived but the glass doors with the frosted words of Marley led you to walk inside. The yellow lights bringing warmth as you walked towards the front desk, you didn’t look like you belonged, looked like some stray. You tapped your fingers against the white marble as the woman finally turned to meet you, “hi, what can I help you with?”
She smiled at you as you really had no idea what to say, “Zeke.”
“Zeke?” She paused, “like Mr. Yeager, one of the partners here.” You nodded as she gave a confused look at you. “Who are you?”
“I’m a friend of his, do you know where I…I can find him.” She looked at you hesitantly.
She tapped on the keyboard, the only sound being her taps, “I can call him down if he’s a friend, we have a security measure so I can’t send you up, but if you wait on those chairs he’ll be down shortly.”
You nodded quickly turning on your heels as you moved to the white chairs, it looked empty, the staff probably having left hours ago. You hadn’t realised Zeke to have been a partner of this place, it seemed way above your standards. You felt the need to leave and never come back, to apologise for wasting the woman’s time but just as you were about to get up. The ding of the elevator made you stop, Zeke coming out with a brunette-haired woman, she smiled at the man as he walked beside her speaking on some matters.
He went to the front office lady and he pointed to you as both him and the woman looked at you. Zeke confused before beginning to walk up to you, “Y/n, what happened?”
“I…I…don’t know why I came here?” You paused taking a sharp breath, “so…sorry I should go, I…” You were ready to run away, embarrassment across your face at the fear of feeling vulnerable in front of this man.
He grabs your wrist stopping you from leaving, bringing you to face him again, “Pieck, I’ll see you tomorrow.” The woman he had been with nodded saying a goodbye before she left herself, “come on, you can explain everything in my office.”
You didn’t know how you had agreed to go with him, your other hand had been clutching the napkin out of instinct, he guided you up the elevator, his taller frame against your own as his hand was on your back. He shuffled you along past the many smaller offices before his name was frosted onto the door, opening the glass as he let you into the much larger area.
“Take a seat.” He gestured to the couch that had a coffee table in front of it, he got out some alcohol putting it on the table as he poured two glasses out for the two of you. “What happened?”
“I…I…I’m sorry, I interrupted your meeting, and I shouldn’t have come here.” You were ready to get up again, but Zeke moved to sit beside you. His discarded suit jacket on his desk as he had rolled up his sleeves, his glasses sitting perfectly across his face.
He brought his hands to your one shaky ones, it seemed to have calmed you down, but he noticed the napkin scrunched up in your hands. “Shoosh it’s okay, take your time.”
You nodded taking a sharp breath as you explained how your boyfriend had shouted at you and how you really didn’t want to go back to your apartment. “I just can’t do this anymore Zeke, I…I deserve happiness right, I do don’t I?”
Zeke had noticed the tears form in your eyes, it cascaded down your perfect face as he wiped them away softly. He was frustrated, frustrated at your arrogant dickhead of a boyfriend, frustrated at the world for making his girl cry.
“You deserve happiness.” You didn’t know what had gotten into you, but at his tender sweet words you moved your hand onto his thigh, crashing your lips onto his own. You felt no guilt, nothing as you kissed the man, your other man moving to his blonde beard as you cupped his face. He knew it was wrong, you had a boyfriend, you were cheating but he couldn’t resist you. He felt you crawl onto his lap, pushing him against the couch as you deepened the kiss. His tongue gliding inside your own as you gave a soft moan of his name, it sent him into an overload as he gripped your waist with one hand and the other to caress your cheek.
He watched as a string of saliva stayed between the two mouths as you both parted, “I…shouldn’t have done that.”
“Don’t go back on me now, doll.” He teased, laying underneath you, he brought his hand to touch your hair, his touch making you go soft inside. “I told you…”
“Told me what?” You questioned still on his lap; he brought his head closer again to your mouth.
Through every kiss he gave you, he said the four words, “that you’d be mine someday” In a matter of seconds you realised the implications of his words, you were his, you were everything he had dreamt about. You would leave that disgusting man and be Zeke’s forever.

Clarity in the Cancellation Crusade
After posting multi-paragraph comments on a couple different things that have popped up in my feed recently, it seemed like I should probably just sit down and write this out.
“Cancel culture.” Crazy shit, right?
The recent onslaught of cancellations includes Mr. Potato Head, Pepe Le Pew, a handful of Disney movies (Peter Pan, Dumbo, The Aristocats), and *audible gasp* Dr. Seuss. The Muppets also got a newfangled Disney+ content warning, though I’ve seen significantly fewer headlines about that.
The thing that inevitably happens when the news media decides to publish a headline about a children’s toy or book being “canceled” is a veritable parade of social media complaints about how sensitive people have become. I saw this particular post over 10 times in the period of a couple hours one day last week…
Tumblr media
The question I’ve been asking recently when I see posts like that is this: “Who do you think cancel culture is?”
Because “cancel culture” isn’t real. In the majority of the cases currently making headlines, the choice to remove a character from a movie or stop publishing a book has been made by the company responsible for that character or book… and that is very much a normal thing companies can choose to do.
No one I’ve posed the above question to has overtly mentioned “Libtards,” but it’s certainly implied. People who haven’t read a Dr. Seuss book in 20 years are now suddenly all up in arms (literally?) because “the Liberals” are coming for “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street.”
The Liberals are not coming for Dr. Seuss. They do not care about a potato toy. Also, nothing is happening to the Cat in the Hat. I repeat: NOTHING is happening to the Cat in the Hat.
The choices to stop publishing that book and to market a vegetable toy in a less gendered way were made by the companies responsible for producing those products… not the Liberal “cancel culture” ghoul. In fact, it’s really, really hard to find public outcry about any of the things that have been recently “canceled.” There was a single NYT article that recently discussed the problematic nature of the Pepe Le Pew cartoons… that said, Warner Bros hasn’t aired that show in decades and it is not clear whether that article had anything to do with the skunk’s scene being removed from the new Space Jam movie.
Even growing up I remember things like political correctness needlessly becoming a partisan issue. When we fall into that media trap, all we’re doing is watering the plant of an already poisonous and ineffective two-party system. Be bigger than that temptation. Push back against media intended to further divide Americans. If something stinks, it’s probably rotten. Sure, there are certain topics that fall under the umbrella of political correctness that sound alarm bells for censorship issues… but didn’t everyone’s mom tell them that if they didn’t have anything nice to say, they shouldn’t say anything at all?
Again, though, the most important thing to remember about this recent wave of “canceling” is that censorship concerns are moot. A person who owns a thing is legally allowed to do all the censoring they want. It’s not the government that has decided to stop publishing 6 books written by Dr. Seuss… if it were, we could have the censorship conversation. These changes aren’t happening because there is a Democrat in the White House. They’re happening because the company who makes these products, has for whatever reason, decided to take a different approach.
In the case of the Dr. Seuss books, Dr. Seuss Enterprises re-evaluated their choice to publish 6 books based on racist themes and images. I have only heard of two of those six. The image below is, in my opinion, objectively problematic:
Tumblr media
The fact that a major company behind such a well-known name has seen that something is problematic and has decided to stop publishing the books containing overt racist images is awesome. It sets a great example that we can all learn from. Humans have an amazing capacity to learn… that’s one of the only reasons we are in charge here on Earth. If we fall on ice once, we are often more careful on ice the next time. When we see that something is racially problematic, it’s a good thing if we can take action to get that thing out of rotation. More on that later.
Fundamentally, what is happening right now in Media Land is gross sensationalism.
“Cancel culture” isn’t real. Should people face consequences if they say or do racist things? Yes. We should all agree on that. Should we stop publishing books that perpetuate racist stereotypes? Yes. There are plenty of non-racist books that provide an education about racial differences without the added (exceedingly inappropriate) zing of Asian characters being painted yellow and African characters being given monkey features.
If you’re not convinced that some of Dr. Seuss’s material is racially problematic, I encourage you to pop on over to Google to check out the series of ads he did for FLIT in the 1930s. Yes, it was the 1930s. In the last 90 years, we’ve learned that images like that are not okay… let’s use that knowledge to let old racist graphics die.
Still can’t accept that “cancel culture” isn’t real? Still feeling like there’s something in the air now that is different and worse than before?
Okay, then, let’s consider it further.
Things have been “canceled” by people for millennia… this isn’t new. Being all for cancel culture when Colin Kaepernick kneels for the anthem (a perfectly legal form of peaceful protest considered respectful by many veterans) but opposing cancel culture when it’s threatening to eliminate an obviously racist thing is not exactly a moral stance. Burning your Nikes in the street but then turning around and spending $400 on a copy of “If I Ran the Zoo” on eBay after Dr. Seuss’s own family has pulled it from publication due to racist imagery is… silly.
The same people who seem to be so vocal about “cancel culture” now are part of the same communities who tried to cancel plenty of things in my lifetime. Things like trick-or-treating, Harry Potter, school dances, books and movies with LGBT+ characters and themes…
History absolutely bubbles over with things that have been canceled… often for good reason! Some examples that come to mind:
DDT
the Catholic Church (see the 16th century Protestant Reformation)
doing our everyday poopin’ in outdoor holes
polio
hoop skirts
phrenology (new science cancels old science like every damn day)
Ford Pintos (not to mention cars without seatbelts)
telegrams and rotary phones (replaced by easier and better ways to communicate)
lead paint
asbestos
Four Loco
Y’all remember when we all did the ice bucket challenge to cancel Alzheimer’s?
Learning that something is problematic and moving past it is LEARNING… not cancel culture.  Learning and growth are good things. We all benefit from them.
Another thing worth commenting on from that Cat in the Hat post that circulated in my Facebook feed: why do we consistently demonize sensitivity? Racism feels like something we should all be sensitive about. If being sensitive about something results in meaningful change and a less hateful country, isn’t that… good? Why do so many Americans seem to place so much value on their “freedom” to hurt others?
And don’t get me started on comparing this stuff to Cardi B. It boggles my mind that that’s happening at all. Why is there suddenly so much outcry about one song that features female genitals in a literal ocean of songs that feature male genitals. I grew up knowing every word to songs about sex well before I even knew what sex was. Your kids are only desperate to listen to WAP because they know it makes you squeamish. And take a second to think about why it makes you squeamish. Genitals are human and scientific and we literally all have them. If you have more of a problem with WAP than with any of the other 10,000 songs about dicks and sex, you need to spend some time examining why that is.
Here’s another post I’ve seen bouncing around the social media feeds:
Tumblr media
Something about this is just plain hilarious to me. Like what are racism and rape culture if not THE REALEST issues? This country’s problem with systemic racism runs so, so deep and is reflected very plainly in centuries of cold, hard numbers. It’s not that I *think* systemic racism is a problem. The data very clearly shows that regardless of what white people think about race in this country, systemic racism absolutely IS a problem. Racism and rape culture, arguably at the root of the most recent canceling spree, are not just real issues, they’re real American issues. They’re cultural issues. And solving cultural issues is not easy. We know that these issues have been passed down through the generations so maybe changing children’s toys and books and shows isn’t such a bad thing to try. There is SO much work to do to address racism and rape culture in the United States, but small steps are still progress.
If choosing to stop airing a show that blatantly perpetuates rape culture means one less young person is stalked or assaulted or raped, that’s worth it, no? What if that one young person who doesn’t become a victim is your daughter?
If choosing to stop publishing a book with racist themes and images leads to even one kid understanding more about the nuance of race in America and the breath-taking extent of white privilege, that’s worth it too.
Would I rather the media spend time and money to bring American attention to bigger issues associated with this nation’s racism and rape culture? 100%. There are ENORMOUS fish to fry. Dr. Seuss is not an enormous fish. Potato head toys are not enormous fish. Pepe Le Pew is not an enormous fish. They’re not even big fish. They’re small. They’re tiny fish. They’re anchovies. But frying some fish is better than frying no fish.
Canceling Pepe Le Pew is not hurting anyone. Warner Brothers owns Pepe Le Pew. Warner Brothers owns nearly everything; they are not hurting for money. And canceling Pepe certainly isn’t hurting American kids. There are plenty of other kids’ shows to watch that are significantly less problematic. Just because you watched Pepe Le Pew and went on to be a properly respectful adult doesn’t mean there aren’t other kids out there who did internalize a harmful disrespect for consent. No, Pepe Le Pew probably isn’t single-handedly responsible for anyone’s decision to stalk or rape anyone else. But could a show reinforce the groundwork that ultimately leads a kid down a path where he is unable or unwilling to respect the boundaries of others? I mean, it’s not the craziest thing I’ve heard this week.
Canceling six total Dr. Seuss books that are already pretty obscure is not hurting anyone.
Changing the name of an already genderless potato toy to reflect that genderless-ness is not hurting anyone.
A brief recap: racism and rape culture are very real, very American issues.
If the decision to stop doing a thing doesn’t hurt anyone and may even save someone some hurt, why does that decision bother you?
Also, in all your frantic Facebook posting, make sure you are differentiating between “cancel culture” and consequences. When the media tosses around the phrase “cancel culture” it has this tone of finality that is, plainly, not realistic. Fads and trends move so quickly in the internet age that the idea that a group of people could “cancel” something permanently is just not possible. People who do or say racist things, though, should face consequences. People who do or say transphobic or homophobic things should face consequences. Consequences are one of the only ways we learn to do better. And again, that’s not my opinion, it’s science.
One of the consequences that can have the most impact is, you guessed it, losing money! In this capitalist hellscape, money talks. Boycotting and choosing how we spend our money are some of the most engaging ways to combat racist and homophobic garbage. When you have your temper tantrum because the company who owns a book with overtly racist imagery decides to stop publishing that book, that speaks volumes about your priorities. If you respond to that company’s decision by buying the book in question on eBay for $400, that speaks even louder volumes. What are you doing? WHY are you doing it? I’m guessing you don’t even know, and you should probably spend some time thinking about it before you flush away a chunk of your stimmy on a freaking RACIST KIDS’ BOOK.
All actions have consequences. All of our choices never affect just us. How we vote affects other people. How we spend our money affects other people. Spending our money on things that are problematic perpetuates the problem… whether it be racism, rape culture, homophobia, or transphobia… or so many other things this country desperately needs to address.
It’s human to not like change. Change is going to happen, though, regardless of whether or not we’re comfortable with it. In the information age, we have a remarkable opportunity to steer that change. Leaving behind racist relics is change, so it may be inherently uncomfortable. But change that moves our country away from racism and rape culture is GOOD change.
I am begging you. Use critical thinking… if you’re seeing a headline about something being canceled, look up WHY. Some of these headlines are absolute bunk… they’re shared just to get people all riled up and create American division. However, just like we *should* cancel lead paint, a children’s book with overtly racist images shouldn’t be published anymore and it’s weird if you disagree with that. Disagreeing with that decision, as silly as it may seem, perpetuates racism. I know how triggered y’all can get when someone suggests you might be perpetuating racism, but it is what it is. Do your research. Don’t spend your money on racist garbage. Be better.
I feel like this post is me just barking the exact same thing in different ways, but I also feel like there is so much more I could say.
I’ll leave you with this:
What will it take for Americans to weigh the threats of racism and homophobia the same way we weight the threat of lead paint? If it’s a matter of costing lives, well, the numbers speak for themselves.

Addressing some of the hateful comments/messages I get
It comes as no surprise to me that because I make social justice related posts I get on average hundreds of abusive messages saying that: I am wrong, to kill myself, that I am a traitor to my race, and a bunch of other garbage I have to constantly sift through since I care about the “Black Lives Matter” cause and other related social issues. Its sorta sad but it is to be expected. But since I am in a relatively good mood today I will be addressing some of the most common messages I get and somewhat attempt to respond to them.
“I bet you are all butthurt now that (insert name of black person recently killed by police here) is dead. Good riddance, another monkey gone”
The statement above is a general example of the majority of messages I get. They always come from some account with the punisher logo as the PFP or a “blue lives matter” pfp and they seem to be under the general assumption that Black Lives Matter is a covert organization that is here to destroy America.
First off: using a derogatory word like ‘monkey’ to describe a black person (regardless of context) is pretty racist and does not help your case when you try to tell me how ‘racist the BLM organization’ is (which makes little to no sense since Black Lives Matter is a movement, not a cohesive group. That would be like saying the Capitalist organization is making America money. Its a system of beliefs, not an actual group). That and the general aggressive tone of all of these collective messages does not make me think you are here with good intentions. It makes me think you are an angry racist who gets almost sexual pleasure from the deaths of people who look different than you.  And since many of these accounts I get these messages from also fetishize black women.... I am quite frankly confused as to how many of you come to these logical conclusions.
People die everyday. I cannot refute that people die everyday and that its a normal part of life. However, denying that there are issues with racism in this day and age is willfully ignorant and denying these deaths are apart of that problem is just impressively stupid. And generally stupid hides behind a torrent of abuse and hatred. If I prove you wrong you will just scream at me louder and start making cheap shots at me using my: race, sex/gender, nationality, religion, and generic physical traits as ammunition to try to degrade me into submission. I’m not butthurt, mostly just confused as to how you take pleasure from the deaths of people (including children) on the sheer basis of race alone.
“You’re a puppet of the CCP”
This is another funny batch of messages I get since:
1. I am VERY critical of the CCP on this blog due to the fact they have committed several human rights abuses RECENTLY and currently run concentration camps. Along with this I have covered the situation happening in Hong Kong
2. I have never defended the CCP on this blog and never plan to. (There is a major difference between a Chinese person and the CCP as a whole. People are not always representative of their governments case in point: North Korea)
3. tenimum square massacre.
4. China is not a socialist country nor should it be your go-to excuse to label something you dont like is bad. Its a dictatorship that uses Communism to maintain power. Socialism/communism does not always equal dictatorship. Socialism and communism are both economic systems that dictate who can control what in terms of economy. Its not a synonym for ‘everything evil’ (coUGH RED SCARE)
At this point this whole “you are part of the CCP” argument has become a worse version of the red scare or satanic panic in the 90s. You are trying to label me as bad by applying a boogieman like persona to me to discredit my points. Along with that you ignore all the instances where I criticize the CCP and instead say I glorify it. Again, I don't understand these logical conclusions.
“There is no gun control problem in the US, pussy”
We have had 230 mass shootings as of 5/31/21 in the US. That is more than how many days that have passed in 2021 so far. This means multiple shootings have had to happen per day in order to achieve this number. Clearly these is an issue.
I am not saying to ‘ban all guns’ but I am saying there is an issue. How is that growing number not concerning?
“ALL LIVES MATTER”
They do. I am not saying that one group of people deserve more rights than another. However, if all lives truly mattered to people then we would not be in the issue we are currently in. If all lives truly mattered to everybody we would not have police brutality or racial discrimination. We would not have femicide. We would not have law makers denying people healthcare based on their gender identity. We would not have a majority of the issues we have today if all lives truly mattered to people.
Black Lives Matter is not about black supremacy or even about special treatment. Its about equality. Its about the fact that all lives do not truly matter to people and as a result an entire group of people is regularly demonized and targeted by police simply because of their skin. If you believe that ‘all lives matter’ stand up for the people who’s lives are regularly disregarded by the system. This includes everybody, not just the people who look like you.

You need better music taste
A/n: Ok so this idea is based off a tik tok I saw. It’s where you’re soulmate can hear what you’re singing. And yall know how catchy the yarichin opening is. If you haven’t heard it here it is on YouTube . Anyways this is really dumb but I wrote it at 3am while I was crying over maths so here 😌😌 also I know all the i’s are lowercase, I just have auto caps off on my phone 🤧🤧
Pairings: Oikawa x reader
Genre: fluff, humour, mostly just crack tbh.
Warnings: very light swearing, Iwa constantly abusing Oikawa
Tumblr media
*not my gif*
Nationals were coming up and Oikawa couldn’t get that stupid song ouut of his head. Normally he loved when he could hear you sing. Sometimes he’d even bop along. Lately though, you’ve taken up a new song. You could’ve chosen any other song in the world but no you had to choose the opening for Yarichin Bitch Club. And it didn’t help that the lyrics were so vulgar.
He sighed and shook his head trying to telepathically communicate to you to please shut the hell up but to no avail. He could still hear the cursed boku wa yarichin osodayo~ Damn it, this was so frustrating. He would give anything to finally meet you and tell you to please get some better taste in music. It really didn’t help his performance that this was all you had sung for the past week.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, Iwaizumi could see Oikawa visibly struggling and he laughed to himself.
“Is she still singing that stupid song?” he called out, already knowing the answer.
“Yes!” wailed the setter, eager to complain for what felt like the 20th time today. “You know i searched up the lyrics cuz i was curious to see where it was from but now i really wish i hadn’t. I didn’t know my soulmate was into that kind of stuff!”
He shuddered, remembering the memory. He really thought the anime was just about a photography club.
“Just sing a really annoying song back,”
“Don’t you think i’ve tried? I even tried the Gummy Bear song but she just started singing that damn song even more,” he pouted.
“Well, you’ve got to think of something Shittykawa otherwise you’re gonna make us lose our one shot at nationals.”
“Hey! I thought we spoke about the name calling business. And don’t worry i’ll think of something.”
Thankfully by then your singing had stopped though Oikawa could still hear the God awful lyrics. But the lyrics were so catchy that the stupid song still played on replay in his head. Even when you weren’t singing you still consumed his mind. Endearing or annoying, Oikawa couldn’t tell.
After what felt like eternity, he finally finished practice without too much further nuisances so he was able to clean up and go home right on schedule.
However that night he laid awake thinking about you. In a world where you can hear your soulmate singing it shouldn’t be that hard to find out who you were and where you were. There was just a teeny problem though. He was scared. Neither of you had ever tried to contact the other person through singing. He at least knew you lived in their prefecture because you’d always be singing along to the songs from the local radio station.
Oikawa sighed, wondering if you two would ever meet. Maybe not. He was much too preoccupied with volleyball and you were too busy singing your,,, tasteful music.
Suddenly though, an idea hit him that shook him right out of his somber mood.  He quickly grabbed his phone from his bedside table and texted his best friend.
Oikawa: Iwachan, you up?
Iwachan: What do you want Stupidkawa, it’s 2am.
Oikawa: I have a plan to find my soulmate 😌 But I need your help. Meet me in front of A-33 tomorrow at the start of lunch.
Iwachan: Tch. Why do you need me there.
Oikawa: Please, I’d rather die than be seen alone in front of the anime club. What if people think i’m an otaku 🤮
Iwachan: Says the same man who cried watching Banana Fish 🙄🙄
Oikawa: SHUT UP! Just say yes please ;)
Iwachan: 🙄🙄🙄 Only to make sure you turn up to practice on time. Now i’m going to bed 👋
Oikawa: Thank you Iwa~
The next day, Iwa was waiting impatiently for Oikawa in front of the room used for the anime club. He was getting a few odd looks but he didn’t really care. Finally, he saw Oikawa rounding the corner.
“Yahoo~ Iwachan, sorry i’m late,” chuckled Oikawa, not looking the least bit apologetic.
Rolling his eyes, all Hajime replied with was a simple “Whatever, Shittykawa,”
The two men stood awkwardly outside the door unsure what to do.
“So…” began Oikawa, trailing off.
“So? Don’t look at me, she’s your soulmate! Is she still singing?”
“Yeah, she’s been singing for the last ten minutes. It’s rather cute actually.”
Iwwizumi had rolled his eyes so many times by this point he was sure his eyes were going to get stuck. But he wanted to get this over and done with so Oikawa could finally focus on practicing. Taking the lead, he grabbed the handle of the door and slowly turned it as to not startle anyone inside. The two boys took a peek in and were startled to see just you in the club room singing along as you did some work.
You were singing along to the yarichin opening-
“Damn, I didn’t know my soulmate could sing such dirty thin- agh damnit Iwa that hurt!” Oikawa was cut off before he could finish that sentence. However, you were very surprised to see two members of the volleyball team in the anime club. The two best looking at that.
“I- uh, huh?” you started, not really sure what to say.
“I think you’re my soulmate,” stated Oikawa confidently enough, though inside he was extremely nervous.
If iwaizumi wasn’t here he would’ve ran away so fast. He couldn’t help it, you were breath taking. He already loved your voice, but now your face too? Man, he was counting his blessings and praising the Gods above.
“Wait, how- oh.” You simply stated as realization hit you. He had to listen to this song on repeat.
“Damn, didn’t get annoying having to hear this song everyday?” you questioned aloud, your brain still malfunctioning because he was here! Your soulmate was actually here and he didn’t seem to be too mad.
“Oh believe me it did,” he replied deadpan, though not without a mischievous glint in his eyes. “However I did try to combat it by playing Dance Monkeys and Gummy bear  all day.”
“So that was you!” you retorted angrily. “I hope you realize the reason i sang this song all day yesterday was to pay you back for playing that awful song!”
Oikawa only laughed, his heart softening and how cute you looked angry. He had only just met you and already fell in love.
“Yknow, if you’ve got nothing better to do you can always come watch us play volleyball,” he offered with a cheeky smile, vaguely gesturing at the empty room.
“Oh shush you, the other members are out right now. But I guess that means I can come watch you. Let me just gather my stuff though.”
“Alright, alright. We’ll be down in the gym. You can sit on the bleachers and do your homework there. Ok bye bye now!” he quickly said as he was dragged out of the room by Iwaizumi but not before he also said a farewell of his own.
You smiled softly to yourself, feeling your face heat up at the thought of actually meeting your soulmate. He was so cute and funny, even if he could be a dick at times.
Once outside the room, Iwaizumi let go of the death grip he had on Oikawa.
“Happy now?” he asked.
“Very,” was all that Oikawa said though the light spring in his step and stupid grin on his face said all that he felt.
He couldn’t wait to get to know you.

oo1. Do you miss someone who you shouldn't right now? No.
oo2. Do you have any close friends that were adopted? I did in the past.
oo3. What time did you get up today? Ugh, I dozed off around 5AM and woke up an hour later in horrible pain. I took my medicine and put on a heating pad and fell back asleep around 730. Then for some reason I woke up at 9:45 and wasn’t able to fall back asleep. I’ve felt like a zombie all day. I took like a 2 hour nap around 3, but naps just make me feel worse. Sigh. oo4. If you could have any job/talent, what? (regardless if can or not)? I wish I could sing. oo5. Who, in your opinion, is the best thriller writer? For the past couple years I’ve just been reading mystery and thriller books and I’ve really enjoyed them all. A lot of them are a series, which I love. Willow Rose, AJ Rivers, and Mary Stone are some of my favorite authors of those genres.
oo6. Does your Mum eat meat? Yes.
oo7. Was your Dad ever in a sports team? Yeah, he played baseball growing up and through high school.
oo8. Do you like apple and cinnamon crumble? Nah, I’d prefer a coffee cake crumble or just a cinnamon swirl crumble.
oo9. What's the most interesting thing you've learned today? I was surprised when I heard that some teachers are making their students, like elementary school age, watch the inauguration in its entirety and then write a paper about what they liked about it. I don’t know, I just thought that was kinda crazy. I definitely support talking about it and showing some short clips or something, but the whole thing at that age? Nah. That’s some heavy stuff to take in and try to understand at that age. Not to mention, one kid wrote they didn’t like it and found it boring and the teacher said that was unacceptable. Wow.
o1o. Do you prefer thick or thin crusted pizza? I like high rise dough or pan crust. I can’t do thin crust, there’s like nothing to it and that doesn’t work for me. I’m weird with how I eat pizza cause I only eat the top layer of it, so I need more dough to work with.
o11. Do you know anyone who is blind? No.
o12. Do you prefer monkeys or pigs? I don’t really have a preference.
o13. Have you ever had an eerie/paranormal experience? What happened? No.

o16. Do you have any friends with the same name as you? I don’t have any friends.
o17. How many people of the same name as you have you ever met? Several. Stephanie is a pretty common name. In elementary school there was a few of us in one class.
o18. What day of the month were you born on? Has this number occurred a lot? The 28th of July. I’m not sure what you mean by if it’s occurred a lot?
o19. How often do you see your best friend? Everyday, all the time. We live together.
o2o. Do you like cookie dough ice cream? Yeah. Wow, I have no idea the when I last had it, though.
o21. Do you like incense or does it give you headaches? I like some. Patchouli is my favorite.
o22. What sitcoms do you watch? I like older sitcoms like I Love Lucy, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Roseanne, The Golden Girls, Boy Meets World, Full House, Sister, Sister, Step by Step, Family Matters, Home Improvement, Everybody Loves Raymond, and King of Queens. Not too many newer ones, though. I find them super cringe. A newer one I do like though is The Middle.
o23. Do you find Tigers beautiful? Yes.
o24. I don't give up easily - is this you? It used to be me. Not these past few years, though. :/
o25. Do you prefer to watch or attempt? Depends on what it is of course.
o26. What do you wish your national flag looked like? I’ll keep it how it is.
o27. What time do you usually have a shower? I like to take them at night.
o28. Do you believe that people can be psychics? No.
o29. What is your most notable trait? That I’m awkward, probably.
o3o. Are you proud of this trait, or ashamed? It’s not the worst.
o31. Do you like waterfalls? Looking at and listening to them is quite relaxing. I wouldn’t want to get near one, though.
o32. If you wrote a song about life right now, what'd it be called? “Blah.” Ha.
o33. If you wrote a novel about your whole life, what'd you call it? I have one in mind, but it’s a play on words of my last name and I don’t want to share that.
o34. Who has the prettiest middle name you know? *shrug*
o35. So, what's your name? Stephanie.
o36. What'd be your name if you took your Mum's middle name? I’m not sharing that.
o37. Would you rather be a farmer or engineer? I wouldn’t be cut out for either one.
o38. A psychologist or a football coach? The plan was to be a psychologist, or pursue something in the psychology field, but...
o39. Do you shout when you're upset? No.
o4o. What color is your favorite vegetable? Green.

o52. Do you take any vitamins? Which ones? No, but I should be.
o53. Do you get embarrassed easily? Yes.
o54. Do you prefer Lion Bars or Toffee Krisps? I don’t know what either of those are, but I do know I like toffee so perhaps I’d like Toffee Krisps.
o55. What do you feel guilty about right now? There’s a lot. :/
o56. Have you ever lost something really precious to someone else? No, thankfully.
o57. When was the last time you wore makeup? Almost 4 years ago.
o58. Do you live North, East, South or West? West.

Dream job (whether you have a job or not)
Either a programmer or an author.
If you could have one superpower, what would you choose?
Reading minds
If you could visit a historical era, which would you choose?
If I could visit a historical era, I would choose to visit the 1980s of the U.S.
If you could restart your life, knowing what you do now, would you?
Knowing what I do now, I wouldn’t restart my life. Although I have gone through many things personally, I honestly wouldn’t change my life at all. I’m very happy with where I’m at right now, and I’d like to keep it that way.
Would you rather fight 100 chicken-sized horses or one horse-sized chicken?
I would rather fight one horse-sized chicken than fight 100 chicken-sized horses.
If you were a trope in a teen high school movie, what would you have been?
If I was a trope in a teen high school movie, I would’ve been the regular best friends or best friends to lovers trope.
Do you believe in aliens/supernatural creatures?
Yes, I believe in aliens/supernatural creatures.
Fun fact about yourself that not everyone would know?
I visited China during spring break of 2019 to perform a few pieces in the orchestra group I’m in.
When did you post your first piece?
I posted my first writing piece on August 19th, 2019
Why did you start writing on Tumblr?
I started writing on Tumblr because I thought it would be a great site/app to share my works on, plus the writing community is so welcoming.
Do you write fluff/angst/crack/general/smut, combo, etc? Why?
I mainly write fluff, crack (sometimes), and angst. As to why, I am generally more comfortable with writing those genres out of anything else.
Do you write OCs, X Readers, Ships...etc?
I write X readers.
Who is your favorite person to write about?
My favorite person to write about would have to be either Lee Donghyuck or Park Jisung. The reason why I chose these two out of everybody else is because I find their personalities really interesting and fun to write about.
What inspires you to write?
Well, to be honest, everything inspires me to write. Listening to music, watching TV shows and movies, video games, etc. Even hearing a line from a movie I enjoy can inspire me to write.
What genres/AUs do you enjoy writing the most?
The genres/AUs I enjoy writing the most would have to be best friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, & highschool AUs!
What tropes do you love, and what tropes can’t you stand?
Some tropes that I love consist of enemies to lovers, best friends to lovers, secret and fake dating, & exes to lovers. There’s not really any tropes that I can’t stand, to be honest.
What do you do when you hit a rough spot creatively?
Usually when I hit a rough spot creatively, I will find some way to relax and possibly watch a TV show or movie on Netflix. During this time, it isn’t good to force yourself to write, and I think it would be a better idea to just relax and let the ideas and words flow naturally to you than forcing yourself to write.
What is your favorite work and why? Your most successful?
My favorite work would have to be either Dream Run or Midnight Love. As to why these works of mine are my favorite, Dream Run is one of my favorites because it is mainly just a comedy fic of you being best friends with NCT Dream, and for Midnight Love, I just loved how I wrote it and the song that I based it off of is beautiful. The most successful work of mine would have to be Sweet Chaos.
What do you think makes a good story?
I think a good starting off sentence that can hook in readers and an amazing plot line with entertaining dialogue and great descriptions makes a good story.
What is your writing process like?
My writing process can go one of two ways. One, I plan out most of the story by writing dialogue and filling in the spaces between the dialogue with descriptions and actions, or two, I completely wing the story. I prefer the first way, to be honest, because it usually turns out better than when I just wing the entire story.
Would you ever repurpose a fic into a completely original story?
Of course!
Do you think there’s a difference between writing fanfiction vs. completely original prose?
Well, I think there’s a little bit of a difference between writing fanfiction vs. completely original prose.
How much would you say audience feedback/engagement means to you?
Audience feedback/engagement means the world to me. It always makes my day when I see that someone has reblogged a story of mine and has written feedback in the tags or has sent me an ask explaining that they loved one of my stories.
What has been one of the biggest factors of your success (of any size)?
I feel like one of the biggest factors of my success would have to be that I stayed persistent in posting new timestamps everyday.
Do you think fanfic writers get unfairly judged?
Well, yes, I think fanfic writers get unfairly judged.
Do you think art can be a medium for change?
Yes, I think art can definitely be a medium for change.
Do you ever feel there are times when you’re writing for others, rather than yourself?
Not really, to be honest!
Do you ever feel like people have misunderstood you or your writing at times?
Not at all!
Do your offline friends/loved ones know you write for Tumblr?
Yes, they do!! I’ve told some of my irl friends about it and have mainly told my family members about my writing blog on Tumblr.
What is one thing you wish you could tell your followers?
One thing I wish I could tell my followers is that all of your compliments on my works mean so much to me, and to feel free to always hit up my inbox or DMs! I enjoy interacting with all of you a lot, to be honest, it really makes my entire day when you guys interact with me and my blog. I love you all so much, but you guys probably already know that by now, though. ♡
Do you have any advice for aspiring writers who might be too scared to put themselves out there?
I know it may be scary to put yourselves out there, but it’s okay to allow yourself to be vulnerable and to put your works out there. Someone will always enjoy what you have to post, no matter what that is.
Are there any times when you regret joining Tumblr?
I don’t think there’s been a time that I regret joining Tumblr, to be honest.
Do you have any mutuals who have been particularly formative/supportive in your Tumblr journey?
Of course! To be honest, all of my mutuals have been pretty supportive in my Tumblr journey, and they all know who they are ♡
Ending thoughts:
“In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take.”
BONUS: K-POP CONFIDENTIAL
