What a lana x folklore girlie win this issss!

1.Fortnight is about matty?? HAHAHAHA also why did this make me think of when holt was going running with the ladies when he was in witness protection??? Crying. Fav line has to be they were supposed to take me away but they forgot to come and get me. So sad but also so cool in relation to her cancellation/return. 10/10

2. TTPD- not so hahahaha anymore IS THIS ACTUALLY A FUCKING MATTY HEALY ALBUM??? There was a typewriter at the 1975 show she performed anti-hero at? Unless its somehow about harry? Who else is tattooed on her roster??? Or is this about herself? Kinda feel like modern idiots/who’s going to decode is directed at us lol😂 9/10?

3.My boy only breaks his favourite toys- went in expecting mad woman rage. Pleasantly surprised. king of my heart to queen of sandcastles he destroys….DESTROYED ME. Are you fucking kidding me rn? Im caling it. Best song. Im crying at 7.30 am this is not funny anymore. Also THANK YOU FOR NOT SLANDERING DAD. I knew you wouldnt let us down like that. 7. Fresh out the slammer- god she gets it. Like sure he was great and he is still my biological father and everything but as a decidedly melancholy person myself who has constantly had atleast one close friend in a deep depression I can see how all that heavy lifting can just get heavy at some point especially when youre a partner and their sole lighthouse in wtv storms be out there buffeting their mental health. Its not for everyone and thats so fair and so valid but so sad as well. 10/10 for the honesty.

26. The prophecy- its so sad and humbling to see even a woman at where she is having to beg for love bc that literally is the nature of love. Something humiliating, to have to beg for 🤷‍♀️ cards playing out like fools in a fable cursed like eve got bitten. No one writes like her damn. 10/10

27. Cassandra- very madeline miller on this one. Love love loveee modern takes on tragic greek women. 100/10

I just almost tagged an Avatar The Last Airbender post with JJBA and now I can't stop thinking about the crossover hnnghfjebebdbh

Okay let's sort some things out. Obviously Jonathan is going to be the Avatar for his generation, and I think either Fire or Earth would work best for him, but I'll go with fire for reasons I'll discuss later. Then with just a bit of fudging things, Lisa Lisa would work as the next avatar, being an Airbender. This would also make Joseph an Airbender, which works way too well.

Jotaro is obviously a waterbender, and he is the grumpiest waterbender you have ever met. He also might be the Avatar. He is not happy about this.

So…Loki S.2 Ep.3

(SPOILERS)

I know people are already talking about Miss Minutes being creepy so I will only talk about stuff I haven’t seen addressed.

A lot of people think Mobius is being too controlling of Loki but like…Mobius also followed Loki’s lead a few times. I don’t see them as having a power dynamic but rather trusting each other to take lead when the need arises. Mobius just told him when and when not to do something chaotic. While Loki took lead in talking to Victor Timely. Mobius literally walked BEHIND them and only interjected when need be. Mobius kept the order but Loki is better at talking to a fellow ‘trickster’ and convincing people.

Yay! Sylvie isn’t blinded by her revenge and anger anymore!

Thank god they kept the thing from the comics where Kang variants kinda want to be with Ravonna but Ravonna consistently doesn’t stand/love them.

“I’m not gonna like Victor Timely he’s probably evil and played by a questionably shit person in real life”… Ends up being one of my favorite character tropes (Con-man who has a soft side). “NO, NOT ALLOWED!”

Rings of Power Thoughts

Not particularly spoilery, but under a cut, just in case. Highly disorganized.

Visuals are beautiful.

The Elves

"We had no word for death." Highly poetic Galadriel, but your step-grandmother is rolling in her grave. And your uncle is presumably about ready to rise from his and fight you about it.

So Sauron's history is going to be really different, huh. And so is Finrod's.

. . . Not sure I like that. Give me Beren and Finrod's heroic shenanigans, people.

But we did get cool First Age flashbacks, which was nice.

(Oath flashback! YES!)

"You will not be permitted to attend the meeting. Elf Lords only."

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry, what?

If Elrond - heir to just about every elvish house they've got left - isn't elf lord enough for this meeting, then I assume Gil-Galad is just. Talking into the mirror, because if Elrond isn't lord enough for this meeting, then no one short of the high king is going to be.

I do love that Elrond's Gil-Galad's speechwriter, though.

(I am aware that with the rights situation, how much of this they can reference is up in the air, but I do not actually care.)

Yeah, I think Elrond's familiar.

I do like this Celebrimbor's ambition, though. Even if he does talk about Feanor like it's not his grandfather he's talking about.

That is not how sailing West works. Not even a little.

(The Valar: Uh. Sure. Also that ban we put on you, but we can call it your duty if you like.)

Galadriel, I support your desire to stay, but I think abandoning ship that far out is actually just a great way to get to Aman the hard way.

The Harfoots

I love the Harfoots so far, especially Nori and Poppy!

If meteor man is Gandalf, I think that's a great introduction to the hobbits. If meteor man is Sauron, then I desperately need Bilbo to somehow find out about the wheelbarrow scene and immortalize it in song.

Easily my favorite part of the show so far.

The Dwarves

Durin's children are adorable.

I - hm. Durin himself is complicated. I like the character as a dwarvish prince, but I'm not sure I like him as Durin.

Also, his whole thing with Elrond is . . . kind of weird. I like the emphasis on the elves' different perceptions of time, but it feels weird to do that with ELROND of all people. Half-elven Elrond. Brother chose to be mortal Elrond.

Speaking of which, given Elrond's canonical brother and what canonically happened to him, I feel like "practically a brother to me" is a phrase Elrond wouldn't throw around lightly.

(And speaking of weird phrasing, Celebrimbor's metaphor about aging parents feels weird from an elf. Not impossible, given he's met mortals, but jarring.)

And going back to Durin . . . it feels very odd that if he wanted Elrond at his wedding or to meet his children, that he wouldn't have, like. Sent a letter? And if he did, it seems like Elrond would have had a much clearer idea going in what Durin was upset about. Communication seems to have broken down on both sides there.

Although given the ending of the episode, maybe there's more to it than that?

Arondir and Bronwyn

I like Arondir a lot, and I'm very intrigued by that storyline in general. Except . . .

I'm concerned about Bronwyn's son. I hate corruption/possession arcs.

Conclusion:

I am definitely intrigued enough to keep watching, but their treatment of the lore occasionally had me screaming into a pillow. I almost want to write a scene where book!elves pull some of that dialogue on each other so that the other person in that conversation can have the appropriate reaction.

In general with the elves I get the feeling that I would like it a lot a more if I knew a lot less about the Silmarillion. The dynamics between the Finweans aren't bad, they're just . . . hard to justify with the lore as I know it.

Hmm with episode five I think I'm starting to feel settled enough in the world of the Magnus Protocol to start coming up with theories about how it all works and what's going on (forgive me if this is super jumbled I haven't nailed this down yet)

So, I've seen the post going around about how the fears have changed into desires and I 100% agree that that is part of it, but I also kind of feel like it may not be that simple, and maybe it's tied up in your love and passion as well rather than just straight up desire/wants? So far I think all but two statements have involved either an artist or a hobbyist and their passion - literal artist, urban explorer, violinist, horror-movie blogger, like it's all something they love, something they're passionate about something they might dedicate their lives or time too and it is specifically their art that is turned against them. Plus re the love connection, the two that don't fit this pattern both relate to the loss of a spouse, through either death or divorce then murder. One said they couldn't bare to never hear their spouse's voice again and wound up getting a distorted horror version of that back, one hid in a garden that reminded him of earlier, happier, times and never left. (and given the murder he doesn't strike me a guy who easily moves on).

I also feel like choices might play a far larger part in this series. In TMA the whole point was that there was nothing anyone could have done and there is a repeated theme where the majority of statement givers didn't do anything to bring any misfortune down on themselves, they just got unlucky. Whereas in this I'm getting more of a your choice matters vibes? Admittedly in a fairy ring unfair conditions kind of way. But the widow chose to go to the graveyard against warnings, the urban explorer took something from the site against the groups rules, the violinist accepted the violin. There's also the fact that so many of the horros thus far the victims are participants in their own horrors, it's their hands doing the terrible things to themselves (and others). Plus the new gang have a choice in whether to stay or not, they have made that super clear the show even started with someone quitting. They don't have to dig any further into the 'statements' and it's actually discouraged that they do, so any digging that Sam is doing so far isn't because of a supernatural compulsion, or even because he is just doing what he needs to for his job, it's because of his own curiosity.

God bless the X-men and for X-men 97 being fucking fantastic. The animation is so much better then a lot of Marvel Animation. Highly detailed with nice colors and tones. It can be a bit stiff but definitely shines in the fight scenes.

The characters feel like X-men right out of the old show. It helps to have a lot of the original VAs. They slip right back into there roles. It's dope that this show can pull from the newer X-men comics along with the later 90s comics.

With only 2 episodes out I'm excited to see how these seasons plays out. With Scott and Eric both trying to lead the team with the absence of Charles.

Allure of Amethyst

As requested, some lovely purple rope in the form of a pentagram harness. It weaves together perfectly snug and sexy. Some may call it demonic but that's half the fun. Maybe we should get horns and revisit this.

I figured this tie would theme well for Halloween. I'm in love with the purple rope. This tie is from "The Dutchy."

It's a rather simple tie, and if you can work blind behind your back, you could even do this to yourself. Thank you @neamore for being a great model and a sweet heart. 💜

I love how the lines overlap on my chest, the weaving over and under creates such a pretty view. I also loved how great it felt when pulled on, not pinching anywhere just a spread out force I had to give into.

GRAVEYARD KEEPER: FIRST THOUGHTS

I heard it compared to Stardew Valley and aside from the silly title screen, it's definitely visually there. Play through? There are a hell of a lot of cons, but they won't keep me from playing it

Con: no character customization, no choices at all. You ARE a heterosexual white male-presenting protagonist with a female-presenting white sweetheart. Any headcannon re either of you being 🏳️‍⚧️ remains headcannon

Hilarious: you are reading a text from your sweetheart when crossing a road and you get hit by a car. Keep track of your surroundings, kids

Con: the dialog writing starts out real clumsy. You do eventually get choices, but I prefer how SV makes you the strong silent type when you're not actively involved

WHICH REMINDS ME, CON: don't let the dialog bubbles cycle on their own without me clicking??? I missed so much unretrievable info because I was mulling over the first half smh

Plot: she swallowed the dog to catch the cat, she swallowed the cat to catch the bird, she swallowed the bird to catch the spider, she swallowed the spider to catch the fly. I don't know why she swallowed the fly, maybe she died crossing the street and woke up in a shitty little medieval FLAT EARTHER village and she has to rube goldburg her way to and through a magic portal to get back to her sweetheart. Or something.

Pro: I don't play rpgs much so while I don't prefer this style over sv's do-whatever-and-you'll-suck-less-as-you-go gameplay, it's pretty awesome in and off itself BECAUSE it's so different. It also contributes heavily to the swallowed-the-spider-to-catch-the-fly effect because it's got EIGHT TABS OF TECH TREES and I started drawing graphs

Pro: you're on a derelict homestead/graveyard with a familiar need to clear rocks/trees/stuff and bring the area back to life. BUT doing things gives you different xp/knowledge points which is how you advance on the tech trees, so it's different from just a carbon copy SV feel

Con: Jesús Christ you can tell this was made by a dude. So was SV, but where it had nearly equal gender ratios (plus the aforementioned character choices), I've seen... not very many women thus far, and what we get is not exactly impressive. I have no problems with "ms charm" telling me to fuck off until I deserved to talk to her, as half the men I met said the same. But I've met two wives thus far, and uhhhhhhhhhhh one is straight up called sweet but stupid in her bio and the other opens EVERY SINGLE DIALOG with "you should talk to my husband, he's in charge" like jfc lady you're the one I need for recipes, calm down? Does he beat you? What the hell?

Con: let's set aside that I'm pretty sure the "medieval idiots thought world flat" thing has been debunked, because I found info but it didn't have good citations. Also maybe we're going for parody over historically accurate, fine whatever. But whyyyyyyyyyy do you have a guy named "G*psy Traveler" like I know I have an inflated sense of how widely it's known that that's a slur, but it on top of the flat earth thing and the WOW that's bad female-or-anything representation, it builds an image of the creator/creators as the really stereotypical basement dwelling head-up-ass dudes who have never ever looked outside their zone and never ever want to

Pro: like two steps into the tutorial you're slapped in the face with Soilent Green is People and you just live with that

Hilarious: I can tell when I have a first conversation with somebody I was supposed to have met already, because my pre-scripted side of the conversation suddenly backslides in terms of my acceptance of the situation

Pro: time is an illusion and represented only by the cycle of emoji-labeled days. Weeks are not counted, so I legitimately have no clue how many "weeks" I went through last night

Unsure??? I don't know how much I'm going to have to drink the church koolaid to progress? I saw an indication up the tech tree that suggested my good/evil choices MIGHT matter, but I've got no idea how. I told the inquisitor who'd just BURNED A PEOPLE ALIVE IN FRONT OF ME that sure I'd be his friend, and I don't know if the game allows for that to have been a choice made out of the fear that I'd be burned next if I said no

Pro: I still want to play it. The myriad cons will influence how I talk about it to my friends, but it's still giving me dopamine, and that's good enough

Bruh I’ve have this fanfiction idea for awhile in my head and haven’t had the motivation to write it and probably never will, but imagine, sparkling Smokescreen. Like I know Sparklings aren’t canon in Transformers, but it’s used enough that I like them and write about them. But when Smokescreen crash lands on Earth and stuff, the pod around him makes sort of a hologram for him, that builds around his younger body to make it seem as if he’s older than he is for protection. It makes him stronger, faster, smarter, everything. Idk who’d program the pod, maybe another cybertronian who doesn’t want to see the sparkling hurt and turned into a cold hearted killer, so they program the pod and send him off into deep space, and knowing that they’ll be killed at some point, give Smokescreen their memories so it’ll be like Smokescreen was actually a fully grown mech. The Autobots don’t suspect anything, as he has adult memories, he’s in an adult body, and despite acting younger, he acts just like Bumblebee, so why would anyone suspect anything? Maybe in a battle, a vehicon, or maybe when Arcee and Smokescreen were fighting Megatron, that one hit with the dark star saber, caused the program that the pod made to fail and turn back into his younger self. So of course, when he wakes up, he’s really confused and can barely use his limbs as in his older body, he never actually grew, so it’s basically a mech trapped in a Sparklings body, except Smokescreen is actually a sparkling but doesn’t truly know it as he was too young to remember before the bombing of Praxus, and the crash of the status pod probably rattled a few things in his processor.

So idk how this would go, haven’t really thought about it too much but here y’a go :D sparkling Smokescreen, very adorable

ooooooooooo that's a neat idea 👀👀👀

what if the pod sorta worked kinda like how Ultra Magnus did in the IDW comics? Like, "Smokescreen" was originally an armour used by various minicons/smaller bots to fight and this time around was Alpha Trion's guard, but when Iacon fell it wasn't just Trion who was hiding deep in the Archives. There were loads of other bots who seemed shelter within its walls and now were unfortunately trapped

so "Smokescreen," in an attempt to save at least one more life, ends up hiding a sparkling in the frame in their place. Unfortunately in all the chaos they didn't have time to let Trion know about this so the newly made Smokescreen ends up still getting Omega Key-d. When he wakes up he's super confused and is just barely able to shamble his way over to some escape pods and then goes into his multi millennia stasis

and when he wakes up..... well, it's certainly been long enough for his frame to have connected and the processors to have synced together. Smokescreen doesn't even fully realise what's going on because of just how disorienting everything is, and his memories are clashing and trying to fit together. Because of the rush, the Old Smokescreen didn't have time to fully disconnect, so maybe there are still some of their memories lingering in the system which transfer to Current Smokescreen

I'd imagine Smokescreen would be rather clumsy outside of battle. When he fights he can rely on the battle protocols and "muscle memory" of the armour (not that he realises), but outside of that he's a mess. Quite literally tripping over his own feet, misjudging distances and how far his reach is, not knowing his own strength, he's an absolute mess and it frustrates him to no end. He'll also have seemingly random bouts of really bad body dysphoria for no apparent reason

his emotional state is........ very complicated. He gets along GREAT with the kids, but the other Autobots? ehhhhhhhh it's a bit difficult at times, and it really doesn't help that he's consciously aware of how "irrational" his emotions are. He can't help it that he feels so much, but not knowing why he feels the way he does is frustrating at best. Not to mention his social skills are VERY lacking which makes actually communicating what he's feels so much harder, and this definitely creates a bit of a rift with the other Autobots

as for how the Autobots find out........ I had an angsty thought

what if it happens when Smokescreen's on the Nemesis

when Knockout uses the scanner to search for the Omega Key he does find it yes....... but he also sees something very very strange. Another frame inside, a very small one but..... it's different from a minicon......

and the second the Decepticons learn about this they start losing their goddamn minds

because this is a sparkling. A fragging SPARKLING. HERE. MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS OF YEARS AFTER THE WELL WENT DARK. ON E A R T H

naturally the Decepticons are horrified and do everything they can to safely remove the little thing as quick as possible. Knockout in particular is freaking out because he ripped out the Omega Key rIGHT NEXT TO THE SPARKLING!!!! WHO KNOWS WHAT DAMAGE I'VE CAUSED TO IT-

Smokescreen ofc is also confused and panicking since There's A Sparkling Inside Of Him?!?!?!?!!? but when it gets removed, suddenly things get even more chaotic

I'll admit I'm not super sure how exactly things go from here, but I do have three thoughts

1) Now without the battle protocols and armor stuff constantly yelling at him, Smokescreen's able to act way more like a child, however given how long he was in the armor he still has to deal with the memories from inside it and without the armors added processing power

tldr, the little bean now has Adult Trauma And Memories he's gotta work through while having the brain structure of a child

2) Smokescreen is younger than the kids, but older than a toddler. I was thinking maybe he was the Cybertronian equivilant of 8-9 years old

and 3) what is essentially a custody war starts between the Autobots and Decepticons

I just saw the new Loki Season 2 trailer and I'll analyze (overthink) it later, but these are my first thoughts: (Spoilers)

The trailer music had no right to go that hard and make me feel as on edge as the characters (They are really going for the vibe of 'Time is literally running out' huh?)

Loki is explaining something again? I don't think it's to Mobius or B-15 cause he probably did that in the first episode. Maybe Sylvie, since he probably already explained something hard to believe to her while at Mickey D's. Or maybe Victor Timely? Since it looks like somebody (white kinda slim hand so could be Loki) is showing Vic something to do with what Mobius would be doing in the show. Also, Loki has been shown to use visuals to explain something so.

I kinda don't think Vic will be evil (or atleast not completely evil) just cause there are already a ton of evil Kang and Loki probably needs Timely for something (Again maybe the thing Mobius is doing).

You CANNOT tell me that "Nuh uh uh" Miss Minute Tempad animation is not a Jurassic Park Nedry's computer reference. It literally does that same finger wag and stagnant body thing! (My Jurassic Park nerd heart literally skipped a beat when I saw that)

Poor Loki is just going through the ringer AGAIN and is just trying to accept and get the job done. While Sylvie is like most of us would be in the situation: "Everything's going to shit, and you want to drag me into it? Again?! I just wanted to steal some fries from my work!

I really hope that "don't overthink it" is either a weird confirmation that the forced Sylki thing is kinda done or confirmation that their hand holding power boost could have some unpredictable results leading to some awesome magic scenes.

Loki...Honey...Please don't tell me your walking on the dangerous thing that you need a space suit for...You have a tendency of dying a lot and I would really like to see you in Kang Dynasty.

Loki holding an announcer mic is weirdly hilarious to me ("Cleanup in Timeline 615!") and kinda reminds of that scene of Cassie talking on the mic in Quantumania.

Hey, Loki kinda has his own hero/allies team now! Neat. I can just imagine Thor going: "You made friends?! :D"
