#for /his/ event...

since satan's event has ended, i wanted to ask what your thoughts on it were?
Tumblr media
now that i've finished both routes barbatos' event, i can now make a comparison with satan's event...
unfortunately, both follow the same pattern in which the prime subject of the face of the event...simply isn't. although they're advertised as events that center around the specified character, it's more accurate to call these types of events as a gacha in of itself. you don't know who the "real mc" of the event is until you make educated guesses based on the cards or you read through the story yourself. for satan's, it was diavolo; for barbatos, leviathan.
some people may disagree with me (i'm unsure because i haven't been familiarizing myself with current fandom matters), but satan's event was mediocre at best. the devs brought up some aspects of satan i wished they treated better, and i wish that some things hadn't gone as they did (i.e. making diavolo be the "good guy" and satan, the "bad guy". there is no black & white here, devs...look a bit closer).
barbatos' event was disappointing. there is no exploration of barbatos' character--they treat him as static as they have all these years later. i'll be honest with you, though, i'd rather choose one of two evils than to make him unfathomably ooc for fanservice purposes; the event may as well be leviathan's because barbatos only got a small spotlight shone on him in the very last locked book.
tldr; the devs were making baby steps in satan's event, and then embarassingly fell down 72 flights of stairs when releasing barbatos'. treat these events as though they were gachas because you don't know which character will overshine the one you expect.

please consider how you engage with aaron bushnell's death. you may react to it as you will, but it's crucial to remember that his death was specifically a call to action. it was not meant solely to shock but to draw attention to a vast moral hypocrisy: that to many, a soldier dying in a campaign backed by the U.S. government is noble, even if the soldier kills innocents to do so, even if the cause is morally bankrupt--but this? this is insanity. a man taking his own life, on his own terms, in an attempt to help others while hurting nobody else, is somehow less rational and more horrifying than the mass killing of civilians.
of course aaron's death was horrific. but as he said beforehand, it is realistically no more horrific than what's happening in gaza. if we can't stomach this, then why can we stomach children being bombed? thousands being starved? for all that self immolation is, it brings death in a matter of minutes. it is a fraction of the amount of pain, fear, and grief that people in gaza are experiencing. it's just that we are able to quantify it. and this tiny, quantifiable sliver of horror is still so unbelievably awful. how can anyone bear to think about anything else when this horror is happening a millionfold in palestine? this is the question aaron bushnell was asking. and he wanted you to face it, head-on, watching him burn to death.
I've been seeing people make fanart. minimalist graphics to sell on t-shirts. to commodify his death, to mythologize it not a day afterwards, is not only in poor taste but a hindrance to his message. the answer is not commodification, nor is it defeatism, nor is it rejoicing in his death. if you want to honor aaron's legacy, take action. channel your horror and your outrage into making a material change. this wasn't about him. this was about palestine. remember that it was always about palestine.

This baby remained under the rubble for six hours. Read it again. By some miracle, he survived and he was rescued. But his mother who was holding him didn't. He looks like he's in shock, you can see tears coming out of his eyes but no expression or any sound to indicate his pain.
We are not numbers. Make an effort to end this.

tags update: rafah is 8th on trending
edit: it is now at 7th
FOR CONTEXT:
israel has launched an invasion and heavy bombing of rafah(a.k.a the "safe zone" 1.7 million Palestinians were forced into) after the UN approved a ceasefire resolution for the rest of ramadan... all 2 weeks of it. results were 14 votes for YESes. 0 NOs. and 1 didn't vote(take a guess who it was) the resolution called for an unconditional release of all hostages on both sides. so yes, mr "i am totally just doing this to get my hostages back whom i totally care about and totally didn't kill" Israel is launching harder attacks even after being promised all hostages release. just in case anyone was still questioning if Israel was using hostages as just an excuse for colonialism
russia tried to turn it into a permanent ceasefire but the US vetoed it. i guess vetoing a ceasefire looks less bad when russia is the one proposing it
DON'T STOP TALKING ABOUT PALESTINE

father’s day is funny in my family because my dad is so angry this holiday exists that it’s the one day of the year i am NOT allowed to call him. we are officially estranged for 24 hours a year. wishing him a happy father’s day is a declaration of hostilities.
and like he is a good dad with a good dad, there’s no traumatic backstory to this, he just hates The Man telling him what to do so much that it’s a personal affront that someone decided that anyone is supposed to feel a thing on a specific day or, god forbid, spend their hard earned dollars because shaving commercials tell them to. if a dad did his job right (be a good father who unconditionally loves his kids), his kids should love him 364 days a year but FUCK the 365th day to spite hallmark and gillette specifically and you know what. i respect it.

This is the moment israeli soldiers shot and killed 9 year old Palestinian Adam al-Ghoul in Jenin in the West bank.
Tumblr media
They also killed another child today ( Basil al wafa) a bit later. See the child who pulled Adam, he had to hide because israeli forces were still shooting. In Jenin, no hamas, no ceasefire. When zionists say they want peace this is what they mean, Palestinians going back to being killed in silence.
