But unironically "shit graphics" or graphics not the slightest bit realistic are the best way to potray things like The Wither and Ender Dragona nd Wither Storm and Warden because how the hell do you take the emotion and devastation and everything else they rwpresemt in a realistic art style and not fumble that?

Okay, but actually, why does Nancy Drew: Stay Tuned for Danger, from 1999, actually have the same graphics as The Sims 4 does in 2023?

Mm yes this goblin has finally awaken from her winter slumber and I’m here dropping some early sneak peeks, or I guess a hint, from a game I’m working on!

I just don't fucking care about fancy 3D graphics
Man, I am annoyed... My normal laptop has decided that it has had enough - and given that it was Black Friday and such, I decided to actually buy a gaming laptop. Now, no high end thingie, but at least one with a GeForce graphics card (even if just a lower medium thingie) that should be able to render Baldur's Gate 3 in medium graphic settings. Which is good enough for me, because... well, Baldur's Gate is in fact the one and only game that actually has some graphics stuff happening, that I actually play.
Well... Yeah, I kinda just made the mistake to mention that I got this laptop towards my gamer friends. Who got super angry that I would buy a gaming laptop and buy one with a rather weak graphic card. Because I should start playing "real games".
I tried to explain to them that just for most of the games I play (which tends to be like 90% indie stuff or games that are more than 10 years old) I do not need much graphical ability and that for just this one game - Baldur's Gate 3 - I am not gonna buy a laptop that is like 300€ more expensive.
But the Gamers(tm) could just not accept it. "Why play a game if it does not have great graphics?" And... I could try to explain that I am more interested in good stories or interesting game play, but they would just insist that I needed fancy 3D shading and what not.
And like... Sure, I love BG3. I am probably gonna play 600 more hours of this game. But most of the games I play are... Well, I love Supergiant Games. I love Hollow Knight and in general just love great metroidvanias. I love narrative games. I love games with interesting mechanics like the interactive songs in Stray Gods. Or just games that are artistically interesting like Child of Light.
Yeah, alright. With that new laptop I am gonna play Control. Because I bought that game a while ago but never could play it. But... In general... Yeah, most of the games I am actually interested in do not or do barely use 3D. I just... am not interested in most kinds of games that have those fancy graphics.
Like, folks. Just accept that other people want to play different games than you. Like, you will rather tempt me with a 2Bit game with a stick figure if it has an interesting story or interesting mechanics, than with another Ubisoft sandbox.

Just finished drawing a test assignment for one game company. I successfully passed the first round, and it's the second. Also I exceeded the deadline by almost five days... But I hope for the best
