Vanilla Ice Cream
When Lily gets ill, who better but her co-Head Boy to take care of her.
Inspired by the songs "Where's My Shoe" and "Vanilla Ice Cream" from the (in my opinion, underrated) musical She Loves Me.
@jilymicrofics Feb challenge Day 3: Care (yes, I know I'm late) (932 words)
Read on A03 (or below)
“Lancelot!” proclaimed a boy with unruly black hair, and the portrait to the Head’s Common Room swung open. The boy did not waste a second to climb through the door and to reach the red-haired (and also red-nosed due to all the sneezing) girl stirring on the sofa, a blanket covering her, with a flask of probably-now cold tea and a huge box of tissues on the table in front of the sofa.
“Oh good, you’re awake” he said “How are you feeling?”
“Bit better, head’s still throbbing a bi-choo!” The boy smiled down at her. He couldn’t believe how adorable she was, even when she was ill; even when her hair went in all directions and was frizzy, even when her nose was as red as said hair, even when despite the red nose, the rest of her skin was almost ghost white and there were dark circles under her eyes; even with all that she was still the most beautiful thing in existence.
He's loved taking care of his very ill friend; he would do it for the rest of their lives if she let him.
The girl looked around to the window outside, and must have noticed the sun was on the verge of setting….
“Oh Merlin! What time is it?!”
“Nearly half past 6. Don’t worry, I’ve brought you up a snack-“
“WHAT! Why didn’t you wake me up before, Ja-choo! I’ve got to go for rounds! I can’t be late for the first Heads-round of the year!” Lily stood up threw off the blanket and started rummaging around the floor, though he swore she swayed a little bit while doing so. “Where’s my shoe?!”
James looked at her bewildered, pushing his glasses further up his nose. “Lily,” he said calmly “Do you honestly think you can go on rounds tonight? You look awful.”
“Of course I ca-choo!”
“You’ve been asleep all afternoon, you’re still in your pyjamas!” Very cute ones he would add too.
“I’m much better now”
“You sure about that?”
“Of course I am! Where have you hidden my shoe?”
“I think you should lie back down Lily-“
“Don’t just stand there, help me find my other shoe!”
“You can barely stand up. You’re still shivering”
“Don’t lie to me James Potter, where’s my shoe?!”
“Evans, you’re hysterical! Sit down!”
“I will not sit down Potter until I have found my God-damn shoe!!”
Right, James thought. That’s it; and before she knew what was happening, James picked her up, almost flinging her onto his right shoulder. Lily struggled wildly against him, kicking ferociously and batting her fists against his back.
“Put me down Potter! RIGHT NOW!!”
“No way Evans. Not until you realise that there is no way you would be well enough to step out of the common room door, let alone go and do your usual rounds all over the school!”
Almost instantly she stopped kicking and almost seemed to sag into his shoulder.
“ACHOO!”
Well that was it then wasn’t it? She knew when to give up. Almost instantly, Lily felt herself being gently dropped from James’ hold back onto the sofa, laying her down. He draped her tartan blanket back over her, and she felt an instant warmth from it. She hadn’t realised just how cold she had been without it draped over her and she left out a huge shiver.
“I’m sorry” she whimpered quietly. “But who’s going to do rounds if not me-choo!”
James laughed. “Don’t you worry about that Flower. Anyway, I’ve got you a present.”
“Have you really? I bet its homework”
“Better than that! I know this is your favourite flavour, so here you are, sorry if it has melted a bit…” And from his robes, James pulled out a tub of vanilla ice cream and a spoon. A little bit of colour returned to her pale face, blushing from her cheeks.
“Where did you get this?”
“Kitchens. One of the House Elves served my parents before we set him free to help Dumbledore here. So I always like to pop down occasionally.”
He handed down the tub of ice cream to Lily, coincidentally brushing her hands. She started looking at the packaging on the ice cream, gingerly turning the tub round and round in her hands.
“When I was little” she said “My mum always used to give me this when I was under the weather. That’s why it’s my favourite” She took the spoon from James hand and took a small scoop of the now very soft ice cream. It was delicious.
“Thank you James”
He beamed down at her.
“Now, you get plenty of rest and eat, you’ll feel better. Oh, and don’t worry about a thing, I’ll take care of everything” He bent down and gave the top of her head a light kiss. “And you’re welcome.” He got up, dusted down his robes turned around but paused.
“James are you ok?”
“Under the weather?”
“What do you mean?”
“What does ‘under the weather’ mean?”
Lily laughed. “It’s just a Muggle saying. Sorry, I shouldn’t blurt them out like that, I forgot you don’t always understa-choo!”
James sent one last smile her way before heading out of the portrait door hole.
Lily reached out for the ice cream again and started eating, and with each mouthful of sweet vanilla, she felt a little better, she could feel it; though by the time she got to sleep, there was something that still bugged her – she still couldn’t work out why her head was tingling just as much as her tongue….. She was simply stunned!

Update! @jilymicrofics
Lay All Your Love On Me | Rating: M
Chapter Seventeen | Beginning
Prompt: strong Summary: The first time Lily kisses James, he doesn’t even know.
CW: more chats (and arguments) about the non-consensual exploits of one drunken Lily Evans
The unpleasantness he’d swallowed rears its ugly head in his throat, almost coming up all over the maroon carpet as he takes in the sight in front of him.
Lily’s hunched over — knees on plush carpet, forehead against the curved arm of the couch — small and delicate as she shakes, each tremor tearing through James’ heart with far more vigour than sounds ever could.
It’s rare for James to feel out of depth when someone needs support; he lets his happiness seep out and crawl over Sirius (forced to endure his family), Remus (cursed to withstand the painful effects of an ostracised condition) and Peter (an insecure lad on a good day).
He’s comforted Lily before; he knows how she’ll fight the hug — stubborn even in despair — before slumping into him. He’s never before wanted to hold her so badly while the crushing force of guilt pushes with equal measure to keep his feet planted where she’s out of reach.
He starts easy. “I’m sorry for Sirius; he was out of line.”
She starts — unaware of his presence — and the spear of guilt strikes deeper into his heart at the sight of her crumbled spirit.
“And most of all, I’m sorry,” James whispers as his voice escapes him, stuck in his throat as he hangs his head. “I am so so so sorry, Lily.”
“You’re sorry?” It’s chocked, but incredulous nonetheless.
“Yes!” James blurts, moving to kneel before her, hands pausing — outstretched and shaking — before falling to his sides least he breaches the invisible barrier of trust yet again. He’s never been desperate for anything like he is for Lily to believe he’s sorry.
She’s shaking her head and James has a moment of terrible ache where he thinks she might tell him she doesn’t want to see him ever again — fair of her, but devastating still — before her words escape. “I’m sorry, James. Me.”
As she shakes her head, a terrible ache settles in James’ stomach; she’s going to tell him to leave, she’s going to never want to see him, she’s —”
“ I’m sorry, James.”
He blinks at her; the surprise is paralysing before a fire ignites his fierce words. “You don’t owe me any apology!” He shakes his head so furiously his glasses slide down his nose. He shoves them back onto his face so he can look Lily in the eyes. She doesn’t owe him anything.
“Yes, I do!” Lily finds fight in her indignance, eyes sparking alive at his apparent stupidity. “It’s completely the other way around, James! You don’t owe me one!”
He gapes, astounded. What world was she living in? “Lily, I really, really do.”
“But you haven’t done anything!” Her voice pitches in exasperation before her face falls — quickly covered by her hands — and it’s only because he’s moved closer in their argument that he catches her muffled words. “Not like me.”
“That’s exactly the point… I did nothing !” It escapes quiet and broken — he’s disgusted with himself — as the pool of sorrow that’s been threatening to overflow since Sirius left makes its first escape, dashing down his cheek.
“No, James! How can you think that? I’m the one who…” She wrings her hands as she alternates between staring him fiercely in the eyes and boring a shame-faced hole in the carpet.
“It’s not your fault!” James pleads. Why can’t she just listen? “Lily, you were —”
“— Smashed! Plastered! Yeah, and I came into your room and assaulted — oh Merlin”
“You didn’t assault me!” James insists. He might laugh at the idea if he wasn’t in the shadowy depths of guilt. “You were drunk Lily, you had no idea —”
“That doesn’t excuse what I did, James!”
“I was sober, it’s my fault Lily!” “It is not! ” She emerges from her vulnerable cocoon like a butterfly in flames as she pokes him in the chest for good measure. There’s a tiny part of James that’s happy she isn’t curled in on herself anymore even if she’s spouting nonsense.
“ Well, it sure as hell isn’t yours! ” He does not poke her in the chest, but the urge to shake her until she stops blaming herself is there.
Lily stares at him. A beat of silence passes. “Would you be saying that if the situation was reversed?” She’s quiet again, but her voice stays firm. Stubborn witch.
“That’s different!” His guilt only grows as he wonders if he should ever get truly smashed in her presence.
“It’s not! Which is why this is my fault! James, I got drunk and came and did all sorts of things you never consented to, I —”
“And you’re saying you consented?” James almost laughs — he seems to be doing that a lot; she’s making such ridiculous statements. “Lily, I was sober, I should have stopped —”
“I shouldn’t even have been there!”
James pauses and looks at her. She’s flushed, wide-eyed and tear-stained. “You don’t have to be sorry, Lily,” he murmurs. “And it is different.”
“It’s not!” She raises her chin stubbornly. “Are you saying you’d think it my fault if you turned up drunk in my bed?”
“Of course not!” James protests at once. “But I could have stopped you and I didn’t. That’s why it’s on me.”
She shakes her head and opens her mouth, but James powers on. “I’m not saying it would be the same the other way around because it is different. Lily, I’m bigger and stronger than you; you turned up drunk without your wand,” — in his pause, he realises she’s listening now — “Lily, I could have easily just picked you up, carried you back to your room and fetched you a sobering potion — that’s why it’s on me. I let you keep going, knowing that it wasn’t something you’d want to do sober.” He heaves a dry inhale to control the tremble in his throat. “Do you see now? It’s my fault”
“No, James you don’t understand!” She’s crying again, tears renewed as she reaches for him before drawing her hand back like her fingers touched a flame. “This is me! I’m the one who has all these uncontrolled feelings and I’m the one who has let it spiral out of control! Me, James!” She’s laughing now — unhappy and slightly unhinged as she continuous deliriously — “I thought they might pass, but they haven’t, I mean the sex dreams should have been a hint I had lost complete control, but on I went, determined to —”
“— Feelings and sex dreams?” Can you choke and die on nothing but air?
“I know, right?” He really doesn’t.
“Arhhgggle —” His world is spinning. He’s dizzy from a realisation dancing just out of reach. He can’t speak. He can’t think.
Lily doesn’t seem to take his momentary brain malfunction into consideration — or perhaps she thinks he’s suffering a stroke; he certainly feels like it. Words float through his ears as he gapes at her. Entirely pathetic — unfair — hurt you — in love with you — fuck it up.
“Wait what?” His brain slugs into gear as I’m in love with you rings in his head like a choir.
“What?” Lily frowns at him.
“You’re in love with me?” James is in disbelief.
“Yes, don’t you see James, this is why it’s all my fault, I —”
“You’re in love with me. ” The laugh escapes him this time as the choir reaches a joyous song.
She shrinks under his stare as she folds back into herself. “I know I deserve it, but you can stop making fun.”
“Making fun? Merlin, Lily.” A second delighted laugh escapes his lips until its touch makes her flinch; he stomps on his excitement so he can fucking speak.
His calloused fingers brush her soft ones gently. “Lily.”
She looks up. James brushes the fresh tears off her skin, thumb dusting her cheek. “I’m so sorry James.” She closes her eyes as she — unconsciously, James thinks — leans into his palm.
“I love you too.” Her eyes fly open like his words have reached into the heavens and brought a bolt of lightning through her spine.
“What?” It’s a trembling whisper, carried to James’ ears only by the silence of the common room.
“I, James Potter love you, Lily Evans.” The first time James kisses Lily, it’s wet and salty, tears of grief turn to relief as he presses into her with the desperation of a man who found water after days in the desert. He drinks in the taste of her, the smell of her, the feel of her until he cups her cheek — forehead pressed to forehead — and just breathes.

SIRIUS BLACK | HIS FUTURE WIFE
request : Hi, this is my first time requesting so I don't really know how 😅, but can you write something with Sirius being in love with reader and basically just like jily type of love where he always follows her and calls his future wife — @moonlightwonderland
length : 1.1k
Tumblr media
“There’s my girl,” Sirius grins, walking up to you with his arms open as if he was expecting a hug.
“I’m not your girl, Sirius,” you huff, clutching your books closer to your chest and side stepping, avoiding his arms entirely. It’s been a year since Sirius Black has decided to pursue only you and abandoned his playboy persona. Now he was a committed man. His entire focus has zeroed in on you and you hate it. You hardly used to draw any attention but now, most of the female population at Hogwarts was glaring you down. It’s not your fault Sirius Black decided to turn over a new leaf and made you his primary objective; these girls need to stop making it seem like you forced Sirius to take amortentia.
But, from the circumstances, you might as well have given him the love potion. He follows you around and does whatever he can to get your attention, even if he makes a fool of himself. He goes out of his way to buy and give you your favourite treats from Honeydukes and helpfully does your bidding wherever, whenever. It would have been a nice gesture when he brought down books from higher shelves for you that one time…if only he didn’t immediately demand a kiss as ‘thanks’ right after. He deserved being hit upside the head for that.
You just want to be left alone so you wouldn’t have to worry about constantly being stared at by envious girls or gossiping teens who had nothing better to do with their time.
“My future wife then,” Sirius’s boyish grin grows wider the instant you roll your eyes at him and stomp away, figuring a different route for your journey to class would help you avoid the rebellious teen. But Sirius is unrelenting, following after you with a skip in his step.
“Stop following me, Sirius,” you groaned and quickened your pace but it was no use. His persistence is challenging and you eventually succumb to his irritable company.
“But I don’t want to, wifey,” he protests.
“Don’t call me that, and it doesn’t matter; I want you to leave me alone,‘ you counter.
“No,”
“Yes,”
“No!”
“Yes!”
Your bickering is commonplace in the hallways and within classes now, although it’s more a legitimate argument for you and Sirius is just playing along. It truly was a mystery to everyone why the Sirius Black, notorious fuckboy and ladies man was suddenly abandoning all that for one girl. Only he knew the real reason. And it was frustrating, especially to you. He can’t just change everything about his mannerisms and force all that attention on you, his good looks, fun personality and enchanting eyes could only absolve him so much. You’d rather be dead before you ever confess that to him, though, it’ll only worsen your situation.
You did have one saving grace, however. When classes were over, you could find peace and quiet down by the black lake, teetering on the borders of the forbidden forest. This was where you had met your year-long dearest friend, Snuffles. Injured and quivering from the cold, you nursed him back to health a year ago, abandoning your classes for the day so that you could make sure he got better. You knew that dogs weren’t allowed at Hogwarts so you didn’t want to risk anything by taking him to madam Pomfrey. Thankfully, his injuries weren’t too bad at the time and he just needed some company to care for him lovingly.
“Hello handsome,” you smile upon seeing the familiar black dog through the trees of the forest. As soon as he makes eye contact with you, he bounds over with enthusiastic barks and happy tail wags, “I’m happy to see you too boy!” kneeling down, you hug him around his neck and press kisses into his soft fur, “How are we today, hm?” as if he could understand you, Snuffles barks and sits before laying down to rest his head in your lap.
Cooing at the large beast, you begin your usual pets as you delve into how your day was going, making small jokes and giving the occasional complaint over workload and stress build up. Snuffles gives a gentle whine as he paws at your thigh as if distressed over your worries and you smile warmly. He seems so human, someone that really cares about you and your wellbeing, it was nice to have.
“Thank you for worrying about me Snuffles,” you muse softly, “but I’m really okay…so long as Sirius Black stays the hell away from me,” you huff in annoyance. It’s only natural that the conversation directs itself to the man in question as he’s made himself a prominent part of your days for the last year, “ugh! He’s so infuriating,” you frown down at the black dog still resting in your lap, “he won’t leave me alone no matter how much I tell him to. He’s been doing it for a year now and I don’t know what’s gotten into him. Today, he actually called me his future wife! What’s that about?!” you groan and push your head back.
The sky is a pretty blue and you stare at it for a while before you continue, looking down when you feel a significant shift in Snuffles’s postion. The large black dog sits up and leans over to prop his head up on your shoulder and press his muzzle into your neck. He finds a sensitive spot and elicits a dulcet giggle from you, “if only he was as sweet and gentle as you, Snuffles,” you sigh, a small heat climbing up your neck and settling into your cheeks, “maybe then he could finally get me, just like he wants,” Snuffles pulls away and huffs, his version of a subtle sneeze.
“Excuse you,” you tease, reaching up to scratch at the fur on his neck before you cup his face and bring his nose close so you could boop it with your own.
“It’s a real shame, though,” you sigh, wrapping your arms around Snuffles’s neck once more and tucking your face into his fur, “his looks are exactly my type…”  Snuffles stiffens under your embrace but you don’t notice, “and he has some good personality traits too…if only he wasn’t so irritating,” there was a stutter in Snuffles’s movement when you lean back and pet his head softly, “you know, he started acting strange like this after I met you, Snuffles…I-” it was just a passing thought but there was a sudden realisation that slowly consumes your features, reflecting primarily in your eyes. It doesn’t help that the large dog before you slowly morphs into the man you were just complaining about.
“Clever girl,” Sirius grins as he takes your chin in his fingers and pulls you in close, his breath ticking your lips as he continues to whisper, “I expect nothing less from my future wife,”
When he kisses you, sweet but amorously, you kiss back.

Listen, listen I love Plus Size Lily Evans, glorious headcanon absolutely, however, SOME of you are making her plus size just for the sake of making her insecure, which is odd guys, plus size Lily is like one of my favorite headcanons too, but making her plus size JUST for the sake of making the whole “Lily fell first she just thought James was messing with her” thing work?? Odd, veeery odd
Lily Evans means the world to me and I honestly in my personal opinion hate the “she fell first, he fell harder” trope with jily, let her not like him, let Lily wait till James Potter changes into someone different from the annoying boy that was mean to her best friend, into someone who was kind, let years of James PINING (not harassing her PINING because also the headcanon that he harassed her on the daily is NOT cute) go by before Lily finally agrees to go on a date with him. Let Lily be her own character damn it >:(
Don’t even get me started on making her plus sized just for her PARTNERS to be upset with her body?? That’s just?? Literally all of the ships with Lily, would not care that she’s plus size, you can name any of them and I will back up my point and be right, not even SNAPE would (controversial take I know) care about that, also to add I am not a snily shipper I just can’t imagine young Snape caring all that much about Lily’s weight, still cannot stand older Snape though, I am not a snily shipper at ALLLL. Also, are you telling me you think that JAMES FLEAMONT POTTER wouldn’t WORSHIP the ground Lily walked on?? That’s insane, that man was the most whipped a man could be
Also, name me any other ship with Lily and I assure you they would absolutely also worship the ground she walked on even if she was plus size. James? Already covered. Pandora? Ab-so-lutely head over heels. Dorcas? Idiotic question.
Lily Evans is just THAT girl, let her embrace her body PLEEEEAAASEEE
Anyways, stan plus size Lily Evans for clear skin

there's something so beautiful about jily because i KNOW for a fact that they both came back from summer of fifth year as changed people.
James would've gotten a lot more serious; between the war getting worse and Sirius running away to his house, he would've realized that the world's not great right now and it would've definitely given him a wake up call. Bonus points if someone he knows died/got injured from a Death Eater attack. Anyway, he would've been a lot more mature by the time he started 6th year. To his friends, maybe he would've been the same James, because in their eyes, there was never anything wrong with him. But to other people, the change would've been evident.
Lily would've been a lot more horrified with herself, and very lonely. She lost her closest friend just a few months before, and it would've been taking a toll on her. Now that she's well aware of how nasty Snape was, she would realize the weight of his fascism and the upcoming war. Maybe it would be a lovely morning when she read the Daily Prophet about a Muggleborn getting murdered and realized, That could've been Severus murdering her, in a different life.
And I can just SEE them interacting neutrally, because neither has the time or the energy to think about the other. They're both so caught up with the wizarding war. Maybe, they'd be acquaintances by the end of sixth year.
Then comes seventh year, where they're appointed Head Boy and Head Girl, and THAT'S when the romance starts to happen. The blushing, the stuttering, the realization of oh shit, i'm in love.
For James, it would maybe be an afterthought, like okay. I'm in love with this girl, but I've got other things to focus on right now. But Lily would panic, try to fight it- but in the end, she can't help but love him. He fell first, she fell harder.
And then...well...the rest is canon :))

I'm tired of all the defense that James matured is because he married Lily. "He changes because otherwise lily wouldn't have married him blablabla" like stop. Poor Lily they give her all the moral responsibility of that guy. Idk I thought we'd gotten over treating women as rehabilitation for men (in fiction)
Just admit that Jily ship has little development, and it looks like it was taken from wattpad and that's it. But pls stop saying James change and the proof is he got the girl. As if she were an award or acknowledgment of that change. Shes just a girl not a Moral Guide. Women are not moral compasses.
But then I think... How can they defend James' change? Head boy? Stop hex random people just for fun.. Yeah great thing, At least he apologized?
Plus there's that Pottermore prequel of him and Sirius playing pranks on Muggle cops.
Giving the burden to lily is the only way they can defend that James changed. 'Cause Lily wouldn't have married him if he hadn't changed blablabla... But he kept hexing Snape, only not on their dates, What other things could he have done away from Lily's sight? Did Lily know about the prank of him and Sirius on the Muggle cops?... So pls Stop using the poor woman as proof, It's not romantic

Hey for your jily muse, out of order <3
Okay this is unforgivable, I know. You sent this prompt over two months ago. TWO. This ask has been sitting in my inbox since the 18th of January, so you probably won't even remember sending this but I promise you I've been thinking about it constantly and waiting to have free time to work on it and I have this tendency to leave things unfinished so this is me working through that as well lol
Without further ado, here it is ❤️
Out of Order - 744 words
Evans is in the boys' bathroom. She's in the boys' bathroom and she's crying.
One of her hands is gripping the sink, while the other fruitlessly wipes the tears that keep escaping.
She hasn't noticed his arrival, and Sirius doesn't bother clearing his throat. “I'm sure there's a perfectly logical reason for this.”
She makes a startled noise and turns to face him, her expression a mixture of anger and sadness. It's comical, really, so Sirius laughs.
“There is,” she mutters as she wipes her nose with the sleeve of her jumper. Her voice lacks the edge she usually aims at him— and at James, too, though Sirius can't help but notice a slight difference there.
He walks towards her and hands her his monogrammed tissue - he's never used it for this purpose specifically, but it has proved to be useful during the occasional prank or after a rough full moon - which she grabs immediately. She doesn't thank him, but he doesn't expect her to.
“Ah well, that's all I needed to know. It's not like you're invading my personal space or something.”
She lifts an eyebrow and eyes him curiously, looking more like her usual self. “I'm sorry, is there a plaque or an inscription that I haven't noticed? Does House Black monogram bathrooms as well as tissues?”
“Not that I'm aware of, no. Don't give my mother ideas, though, she might actually try to do that.”
She makes an attempt at a smile, but it quickly turns into a quiet sob.
“Apparently there can only be one crying girl per bathroom, and Myrtle has claimed the one across the corridor as hers so it's out of order,” she explains as she tries to regain control of her emotions, “and I thought this one was empty since everyone is heading down to watch the match.”
“You were right... for the most part. Why aren't you going then?”
“No reason,” she replies, her voice even, but she's not looking at him.
Sirius thinks he knows why. He suspects it has to do with the good luck kiss that Cornelia Kettleburn gave James at breakfast and how quickly Lily disappeared after that.
“Cool. I'm not going either. Fancy going to the Astronomy tower for a smoke?”
She looks taken aback. “I— wait, why aren't you going?”
In truth Sirius wants to go, and James is going to kill him for this, but lately he's been claiming that he no longer has feelings for Lily, and Sirius hates being lied to, so technically this is just payback.
“James got on my nerves so I'm skipping the match in protest,” he adds with a shrug and it's the truth, because it wouldn't be fair to lie. “So, are we smoking or not? Got a fag I can borrow?”
She's not an idiot: she knows this is an olive branch of sorts. Sirius can tell she's deciding whether to believe him or not; after a moment she sighs, and Sirius knows he's won.
“Haven't you got your own? Merlin, you're cheap,” she says while producing a pack of cigarettes from her satchel and handing it to him, a smirk on her face. He's glad to see that she seems to have calmed down significantly.
“I'm trying to quit so I stopped carrying them around,” he replies and grabs one, putting it in the breast pocket of his vest.
“Looks like it's working,” she notes as she fixes her appearance in front of the mirror and readies herself to leave the room.
“Absolutely.”
“Why are you mad at Potter anyway? Thought you two were inseparable,” she asks as she walks towards the door, a step ahead of him so that he can't see her face.
“Can't tell you, it's a secret.”
She huffs. “You lot are starting to sound ridiculous with all these secrets,” she whips her head towards him, her disapproval clear on her face, though he's almost certain this is just another way of disguising her curiosity. “Is this little group of yours a cult or something?”
“It's a counterculture,” he explains as he exits the bathroom, “how else are we going to beat those bigoted dickheads? The only way to fight a cult is with another cult.”
He's just joking, but the idea doesn't sound half bad to his ears.
Apparently Lily disagrees, because she snorts. Loudly. “Not sure about that logic but you do you, I guess.”
“Thanks for the support.”
“Anytime, Black.”

Jily Microfic - Opponent
@jilymicrofics - feb 27th, prompt: opponent - words: 911 Summary: Lily might have a heart murmur, might have a crush, it's hard to tell, but she's definitely a feminist, and in case you were wondering, she doesn't care at all if another girl shows interest in James Potter. read the rest in this lil academic rivals to lovers series on my AO3, here! (and stay tuned as this is part 1 of 3 for a little end-of-the-month academic rivals finale ;D) Read Part 2 here & Part 3 here!
Lily Evans is a feminist – she’s obviously a feminist. She’s not about to treat another woman like an opponent just because the girl's got a crush on a boy Lily only mildly, maybe, a little bit – she isn’t even really sure she – likes. Especially not if that boy is James Potter.
(Again, she isn’t sure – it could just be a heart murmur, she’s looking into it.)
So Tamara Campbell told her friend Maritza Acebo who told Mary Macdonald that Tamara thinks James Potter is cute – so what? When Mary asked James what he thinks of Tamara, he only said, “She’s cute, yeah,” and that’s not exactly I’m going to ask her out this instant sort of language. And so what if he does ask her out? The only reason Lily has to care is if some ninny gets James Potter distracted from his studies, leaving Lily without a challenge.
Sorry, not ninny – she’s a feminist. Some girl. Some lovely, “sure, she’s cute” girl, who is probably of at least average intelligence but – it’s only a fact, nothing subjective about it – surely is no intellectual equal to James Potter, and probably only likes him because she thinks he’s some gorgeous quidditch star with sexy hair and a great smile. And, you know, it isn’t Lily’s fault that Tamara’s high-pitched laugh sounds like the laugh of a ninny. Maybe she shouldn’t squeal so loud the entire corridor hears her just because Potter told one stupid joke…
“Happy anniversary,” James says, a proud grin on his face. He’s standing in front of Lily’s desk in their office, bouncing on his heels. He’s sure this is an idiotic idea, but since Lily already thinks he’s a fool, James figures there’s no harm in trying his luck. And whether she smiles or just smirks and rolls her eyes, either expression will be better than the perpetual frown she’s worn the last week.
When Lily lifts an eyebrow, he brandishes a plate from behind his back, placing it before her.
“What’s this?” she asks him, her tone flatter than he’d imagined it would be.
“Lemon tart,” James answers, his smile wavering a bit. “It’s your favorite…isn’t it?”
She stares at the plate for what feels like a century, and James can’t make any sense of what’s happening behind her blank expression. Finally, she says, “Yeah, I like it fine,” her voice lifting forcefully.
James wishes he were being buried alive, or burned at a stake, or plummeting from three hundred feet in the air – anything besides standing here in this moment.
“Oh,” he manages through desert-dry lips. Clearing his throat, James attempts a recovery, his entire face on fire. “Well, I just thought – it’s been two whole months of being Head students together…” This explanation is going terribly. Is there a spell for turning the floor to quicksand? Can it be done non-verbally? “And we haven’t killed each other yet, so…” He forces a chuckle. “Thought we might celebrate.”
Lily looks at him then, finally, and the green of her eyes is wrong somehow. Too bright and too dull all at once. “Yeah,” she says, her lips down-turned. “Quite a feat.”
His heart squeezes in fear and warning bells chime loudly in his ears, but he asks anyway, “Are you alright?”
She clears her throat, and suddenly she’s standing and gathering her books into her arms. “I’m fine. Thanks for the dessert.”
She disappears in a blur of red, the lemon tart still on her desk.
It’s her own fault, really. She should have just said she liked the damn lemon tart. Why didn’t she tell him she liked the lemon tart? Lily stares across the Gryffindor table, where a few seats down James is watching Tamara Campbell giggle at a decibel only pixies could match.
This is the third day in a row she’s had lunch at their table, her blue tie sticking out amongst the rows of red. There’s absolutely a rule about students of other houses switching tables, Lily’s sure of it – and if there isn’t, there really should be. This is…this is fraternizing with the enemy, if you really think about it, given they’ve got a match against Ravenclaw in two weeks.
Lily grumbles in irritation. Two years ago she’d never have been able to say the quidditch schedule if asked. She’s been utterly compromised. Her Charms essay due tomorrow is only half-written; this morning, her potion was only the third best in class, and she hadn’t even cared about the disapproving look on Slughorn’s face.
Another giggling shriek reaches its crescendo, and she’s simply had enough. Leaving her plate hardly touched, Lily gets up from the table and heads for the door.
“Hey, Evans, hold on a moment–”
She barely muffles a groan at the sound of his voice, quickening her pace as she passes him.
James, with his spider-long legs, is beside her in an instant. “D’you mind trading patrols with me on Friday?” he asks, speaking to her like she’s a child on the verge of a tantrum, as he’s done ever since the lemon tart incident.  “I’ve…got a…” He trails off, suddenly looking incredibly sheepish.
“Fine,” Lily cuts him off quickly to avoid hearing his bumbling explanation. Her anatomy’s gone all wrong; her lungs are in her throat, her heart is in her stomach, her brain's disintegrating altogether…
She leaves in a rush, eyes burning, unable to tell who she thinks is more stupid: James Potter, or herself.
To be continued...

Playing 100 Kudos Ask Game for THIS FIC!!!
Update! @jilymicrofics
Lay All Your Love On Me | Rating: M
Chapter Eleven | Beginning
Prompts: shine Summary: The first time Lily kisses James, he doesn’t even know.
“Occlumency?”
James starts as the hefty book is stolen from his lap by the red-haired goddess he shares a dorm with. Not that she’s a goddess because of any subjective feelings he might have towards her. It’s just a fact; anyone in the castle would agree.
Lily gently turns her bottom lip over between her teeth as her eyes quickly take in the contents of the page. James tries not to think about how her lips would feel on his – or anywhere else.
“Why are you learning occlumency?” Shining green eyes regard him curiously. They're objectively beautiful in an entirely platonic way.
Because every night I fall asleep and dream about making you scream. “I think it will be useful for the war.”
“And is the practice coming along?” Lily prods, flipping through the chapter. James is relieved she’s taken his excuse – it’s not a complete lie; it will be helpful during the war – and not pushed until he (inevitably) spilled.
“Sirius helps me sometimes,” James reveals. “I suppose I’m just reading until I go home and see him again.”
“Alright.” Lily nods. “Let me know if you need a potion for the headache.”
“I wi– how do you know about the headaches?”
Lily hesitates. Glances away from his eyes for a moment and suddenly James knows exactly how she knows before she confirms it. “Severus started learning it in fifth year, right before we…” She trails off and looks rather uncomfortable.
“Right,” James says, his own mood souring at the thought. “Well seeing as I’m not keen on spending any time with Snape – no offence – I guess I’ll stick with reading until I see Sirius again.
Lily hesitates again and opens her mouth, wrinkling her nose (in a completely un-adorable way, not that he's thinking about her adorability) and pursing her lips.
“What?” James
“I can help you practise if you want…I know the spell.”
Lily straddling his hips, bouncing as he guides her hips. His fingers threading through red hair as her lips bob up and down his shaft. Her soft sighs as James licks up her dripping lips. Lily in a white dress James found in one of his mother’s muggle fashion magazines. Lily mouthing three little words to him through a brilliant grin.
“I don’t know if that’s such a good idea.”
“Right.” Her voice is tight now. James drags his mind from dreams to the face in front of him. She’s flushes, looking at the floor as she snatches her bag up, placing his book on the low table in front of him.
“Wait, Lily I –”
“It’s fine James, I get it. You need someone you trust.”
Even though every word she speaks is accurate, something is still dreadfully, incredibly, entirely, wrong.

jily headcanons bc i'm down bad for them
they started dating in their seventh year, about a quarter way through
lily had realized that she liked james at the end of sixth year
when she found out that he was head boy, she knew that he would do great job and be the perfect co-head
he actually apologized to her for dumbledore making her head duties difficult by making him her partner but lily encouraged him and gave him confidence that he would be an amazing head boy
being heads together made her fall deeper in love with james
the head boy and girl had their own private dormitories and a shared common room for them only
lily was the one who confessed first, albeitly drunk, bc she was madly in love but james didn't like her anymore (she thought)
she rambled that he didn't ask her to hogsmeade and instead took Miyah Hopkins, who actually seemed really nice, and then asked her out
james blushing hard bc here is the girl, who he is very much in love with, confessing to him and he isn't sure if its just the alcohol or genuine
lily then proceeding to fall asleep bc she doesn't want to hear james reject her and go kiss Miyah
(what she doesn't know that is james broke up with Miyah a week ago)
james carries lily back to the dorms and tucks her in to his bed since he can't go in to her room and he will not make her sleep on the couch especially when she's gonna wake up with a hangover
lily waking up and freaking out bc a) she can't remember if she did anything stupid last night bc she's never been a heavy drinker and b) why the hell is she in james's bed
her going to the common room and finding james asleep on the couch
sitting next to him and fighting the urge to kiss him run her fingers through his already messy hair
james waking up and finding lily staring at him
"alright evans"
lily asks if she did anything dumb last night and james says that her and sirius serenaded everyone in the common room with their amazing and totally not off-key singing
at one point her and marlene started dancing on the table
then, "you told me you loved me"
silence
james, panicking, starts saying how it's okay and that she was drunk and that they can forget all about it
but lily stares at him and realizes that this is it, she's already confessed so what's she got to lose
"i do like you james, a lot and i have for a long time now"
and then she starts rambling with "i know your dating Miyah and don't like me anymore but I really couldn't hold it in anymore and just needed to get it off my chest and you deserve to know"
selfishly she wants him to know and choose her
james just looks at with starry eyes, realizing that Lily Evans, the girl he's been in love for as long as he can remember, is confessing to him sober
"can i kiss you"
"what"
"i broke up with Miyah a week ago and it's you Lily, it always been you"
lily kisses james with so much passion and all the stress and tension that has been weighing her down just rolls off her because james
james kisses back with equal fervency
it's all consuming and gravity-defying and more than anything either one of them could have imagined
"go out with me Evans"
"shut up and kiss me Potter"
This started as a headcanon and somehow devolved into how james and lily began dating. Do I regret it? Absolutely not ;)
If you liked them, please like and reblog <3

Jily one-shot: That Time of the Month
Summary: Lily isn't feeling well while attempting to finish her Head Girl duties. Luckily James is there to help.
For @jilymicrofics prompt 'flush'
words: 2600+
genre: fluff (with a bit of physical hurt/comfort)
rated: G
@athenasparrow you seemed curious about this one!
AO3
...
“Evans.” James raised his gaze from the detention slips he was trying to go through, sitting at a desk in the Heads’ Office. “I know you take great pride in finishing your work when you’re supposed to, rather than doing things the Sirius way - such as, doing your homework 5 minutes before the class - but you look like you’ve been hit by several powerful Bat-Bogey Hexes in a row. Are you OK?”
“I'd be better if you didn’t interrupt me, Potter,” Lily snapped. James gave her a disbelieving look and she huffed in response. “I’m doing just fine, I just really need to have this done before the meeting…”
James got up from his chair and stopped next to her, covering the piece of parchment she had been reading with his hand. “You’re a really bad liar, you know.  C’mon, you can tell me if something is wrong.”
Lily muttered something incoherent that James couldn’t understand.
“Pardon?” He raised his eyebrow.
“I’m. on. my. period. right now. There. Are you happy?” she growled, her cheeks and ears getting some extra color.
“Oh.” James wasn’t sure what he was supposed to answer to that. He knew that periods were a perfectly normal thing but the girls he knew rarely talked about them, at least near him, unless they absolutely had to, for example if it was hindering their flying during Quidditch practices. “I’m… sorry?”
“Well, don’t be. Now, will you finally let me do my work?” She gave him a gloomy look and attempted to steal the piece of parchment back from him.
Something about Lily’s demeanor finally gave James his tongue back. “No.”
“Excuse me?”
James took a step closer to her. “Lily, as your fellow Head Student I don’t want you to force yourself to work when you could and should be taking care of yourself. I can handle this.”
“You’re not going to give up, are you?” Lily glared up at him but her voice had lost a lot of its earlier sharpness.
“Afraid not. Not without a fight, at least.” James grinned, pretending to draw his wand from his pocket. Lily’s shoulders hunched and she hid her face into her hands.
“Fine,” she mumbled against the palms of her hands. “If you let me finish our patrol schedule now, I promise to be a good girl and take a nap after that.”
“Alright.” James agreed, choosing to take that as a win, and turned his attention back to the detention slips. He only had time to read through a couple of them before Lily muttered to herself: “No, this can’t be right.”
“What can’t?” he inquired, and Lily’s expression told him she hadn’t realized she was speaking aloud.
“I accidentally put Fawley on a patrol twice in the same week. And Price, I forgot she can’t patrol with Lovegood; they just had this big fight a couple of weeks ago and haven’t spoken to each other since then. And looks like Crouch is missing from here altogether…”
“Okay, Evans,” James clapped his hands together. “I believe it’s time for an intervention. I’m going to take this,” he pulled the schedule from Lily’s hands, “and I’m going to use a neat little charm the boys and I came up with when we were… uh, inventing something. It should help me put all the names in order with a single tap of my wand. I just need a list of who can and can’t patrol together.”
Lily sighed and handed him a list she usually kept hidden in a locked drawer. The new Head Students had quickly noticed in the beginning of the semester that it was quite necessary; the Prefects could be a rather dramatic group of people when they wanted to.
“I haven’t written it down yet but the other day I heard that McGriffiths and Gudgeon are dating now… so unless we want to keep checking if they’re snogging in a broom closet instead of patrolling… Ugh, bloody hell, literally!”
James was confused by Lily’s last exclamation until he turned his eyes from the list back to her. She was wincing, her hand on her lower abdomen and her eyes closed. James hated seeing her in pain and wished there was something more he could do to help.
“I’ll make sure that McGriffiths and Gudgeon won’t be patrolling together, then,” he said briskly. “But now, you go lay down on that couch; everything is under control here.” He basically pushed Lily up from her chair and off to the couch before she could even protest much. Producing a blanket with a wave of his wand, he waited until Lily had settled down and draped it over her.
“Thanks, James,” she muttered from under the blanket. James’ heart skipped a beat when she mentioned his first name.
“Any time,” he nearly stuttered, before returning back to his desk.
James quickly finished up the patrol schedule and organized the rest of the detention slips before standing up and approaching Lily again.
“I’m going to get something to eat from the kitchens. Do you need anything?”
Lily seemed slightly taken aback by his question. “I don’t…” She winced again. “Actually… some hot tea and maybe some fruit would be nice… And…” she hesitated for one moment, “if it isn’t too much to ask… Madam Pomfrey has a potion for the cramps so if you’re able to stop by the Hospital Wing…”
“Of course I can!” James exclaimed instantly. ”You could have asked earlier instead of just squirming around!”
”Sorry that I had other things in my mind!” Lily said, annoyed. “It’s not always this bad… I don’t understand what’s with it this month…”
James softened again, understanding that she wasn’t really annoyed at him but the pain and possibly the hormones made her a bit snappier than usual.
“Okay.” He put a hand on her shoulder. “Worry not, I’ll get you your potion. Can’t have my Head Girl suffering while we could be… working hard to make sure we’ll have a very productive Prefects’ meeting in a few hours. You get some rest now.”
“Alright. Thanks. Go get your dinner, Potter,” Lily mumbled, pulling the blanket higher up her body.
It took James less than 30 minutes to gather all the things he had planned to gather. His first stop was in the kitchens and when he explained his situation to the elves (mentioning that someone who’s important to him is not feeling well so he wanted to surprise her with a meal), he got an entire basket of food from them. It had some tea, pumpkin juice, fruits and sandwiches in it but the elves had also snuck in a chocolate bar, a piece of cake and Lily’s favorite pie. James left the kitchens thanking the elves over and over again and promising to do something for them in return.
Madam Pomfrey was happily surprised when James asked her if she could put some potion for cramps into the vial he had brought with him. His face heated up when she asked him if the potion was for his girlfriend.
“N-no! Not a girlfriend! She’s just a… friend. Who happens to be a girl, yes. I just offered to get her the potion because I was on my way to pick something from the ki…” he remembered he wasn’t really supposed to know how to get into the kitchens, “um, the Great Hall anyway.”
“Oh, alright,” Madam Pomfrey nodded. “Well, regardless, I think you’re doing a nice thing for her.”
She handed him the potion and also a hot water bottle and he left, feeling rather warm and hoping he could go out for a fly to organize his thoughts but remembering that he still needed to complete his task.
Before he managed to return to the Head’s Office, however, Sirius’ voice spoke via a tiny mirror hidden in his pocket:
“Prongs! Where are you?”
He put the basket he was carrying down, fishing the mirror from his pocket, and soon he was staring at his best friend’s face in it.
“I was in the kitchens… and the hospital wing. Why do you ask?”
“Why were you in the hospital wing?” Sirius kept pressing, ignoring his question. “Did a bludger hit you again or something?”
James wasn’t about to reveal what he had really been doing there because he knew Sirius would tease him mercilessly. He said vaguely: “Something like that, yeah”.
“I didn’t know you had a Quidditch practice today.” Sirius raised his eyebrow. “Actually, I saw McKinnon a little while ago and she didn’t look like she had been flying recently.”
“How do you know that?” James questioned.
“Because she was quite busy snogging D… Never mind that. This isn’t about her, this is about you. You weren’t actually hit by a bludger, were you?”
“Why are you such a scent hound today?” James countered.
“Because you’re acting weird and as your best friend it’s my duty to find out why,” Sirius stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. “Anyway, I just wanted to ask you if the map is in the dormitory? Pete thinks Mulciber and his lovely gang are up to something again and Regulus might also be involved somehow… I wanted to check if there’s any truth to that statement.”
“Yeah, it’s there in my bag…” James replied, feeling weirdly uninterested in Mulciber’s plans, his thoughts still in the girl in the Head’s Office.
“Alright, thanks.” James could see Sirius starting to walk towards the boys’ dorm. “Hey, Prongs?” A smirk spread on his face, making James feel rather suspicious.
“Yeah?”
“You were actually with Evans, weren’t you?”
James rolled his eyes. “What if I was? Of course I have to spend time with her because we are the Head Students. I’m working with her.”
“I bet you guys were working real hard, alright,” Sirius snorted.
“I’m pretending I didn’t hear that,” James remarked. “Besides, I wasn’t lying about the kitchens and the hospital wing. Here’s the proof.” He showed the basket he had gotten from the elves to Sirius’ mirror image.
“Oooh, now I get it. You were getting some food for a romantic date… and probably some contraceptive potion from Poppy…” Sirius’ grin only widened.
James’ face felt so hot he imagined he would have been able to cook eggs on it. “Get your mind out of your gutter, Padfoot. If you really must know, she wasn’t feeling too well while we were finishing some of our paperwork so I volunteered to help the girl out and get her some potion for the pain. That’s all.” He was happy he didn’t have to lie about that part.
“Alright, lover boy,” Sirius lifted his free hand in the air as a peace sign. “Well, you go continue your meeting with Evans, I have some Slytherin stalking to do.”
“Right. See ya.”
James put the mirror away and ran his hand through his hair. He could only hope that he wasn’t as obvious with his feelings as Sirius made it sound. Lily and he had only been friends for a couple of months and he most definitely didn’t want to ruin it by revealing that by the way, those feelings he had had during their 5th year had not gone anywhere; as a matter of fact they had only gotten stronger and more genuine as he had learned to know her better. James from the past few months had learned that there was much more to the mystery that was Lily Evans than he had ever realized, but that only made him more intrigued.
He couldn’t remain in his thoughts for long, though, because the girl in question was still waiting for the potion. Using some of the little known passages he and his friends had discovered during their nightly expeditions he made it back to the Head’s Office much faster than he would want to admit aloud.
When James entered the office, he found Lily up and trying to write a report for Dumbledore. She got some color on her cheeks when she realized he had caught her disobeying his orders to rest.
James folded his arms after he placed the basket on the desk. Before Lily had time to defend herself, he said: “Looks like someone is as bad at following orders as I am.”
“Yeah. Sorry.” She attempted to give him an innocent smile. James wanted to stay annoyed with her a little longer, but he couldn’t.
“Lily, sometimes it’s OK to let other people help you. There’s two of us for a reason. So that one can step in if needed. You’d probably do the same for me, right? ‘Cause we’re a team.”
“Right. Yeah, I probably would,” she admitted.
“Well, now that that’s been clarified, I brought you some things.”
He emptied the desk from the parchment, throwing them into a drawer before handing Lily the potion. She didn’t chuck it down instantly, though.
“You’ve been so nice to me today. I have to be honest… I imagined you would be one of those guys who get squeamish at the simple mention of periods.”
James frowned. “Why would I be like that? There are girls in our Quidditch team; they always let me know when they’re not feeling like flying. Besides, we Quidditch players are pretty familiar with pain and blood for a variety of reasons, so…” he shrugged.
“Right,” Lily replied and drank her potion with a grimace. It seemed to have an effect pretty fast; the relief on her face was visible within moments.
“That’s better,” she sighed. “So, do you have food for us?”
“I do,” James grinned in response and started spreading the contents of the best onto the desk. Lily’s mouth opened when she figured he had brought her a full on picnic. Fruits, sandwiches, treacle tart, chocolate, ham pie…
“James…” Lily looked at him with wide eyes. “This is too much…”
“Nah. I don’t think so. You’re always prioritizing other people’s needs. I think it’s time you get something nice done in return. Besides… I’m not planning to let you eat all of this on your own,” he winked, grabbing a sandwich from a plate and stuffing it into his mouth with great gusto.
Lily threw him an odd look he didn’t quite know how to interpret. Then she took a chocolate bar from the desk and made a contented little sigh as she took a bite from it.
“We gotta make sure there will be a Hogsmeade weekend soon… My Honeydukes chocolate stock is stupidly empty.”
“Oh Evans,” James clicked his tongue disapprovingly. “If you ever need chocolate, just say the word and it’s yours.”
“What? But… we can’t just march to Hogsmeade whenever…?”
“Trust me, we Marauders have our ways.”
“Right. Of course you do,” she snorted. “More seriously speaking, though - and don’t make any Sirius jokes now…” (James put a hand on his chest in mock offense.) “Thanks, James. I’m lucky to have a co-Head like you.”
James smiled softly at her. “I could say the same to you.”
Just like that, the atmosphere in the room changed. For a moment James and Lily just kept staring at each other, not quite sure how to progress from there. James’ eyes traitorously flickered towards Lily’s lips, and when she instinctively moved a little closer, her hand reaching his, he found himself mimicking her movements. But just when their fingers intertwined, his eyes asking her a silent question, a Prefect from Hufflepuff popped in to ask something about their upcoming meeting. The moment between James and Lily was broken, but he still squeezed her hand once more.
“Are you feeling better now?”
Lily smiled at him, her face adorably flushed. “Yes. Much better.”
A/N: Please let me know what you think!! (Ps. yes, I guess I'm a bit mean, not letting them kiss, ahah)

Prompts: 16. Mellow + 17. Contemptuous
“I can’t believe him.”, muttered Lily as he watched Potter partly hidden behind a wall. The boy (more like a man now, Lily couldn’t help but think) in question was talking to a first year. Lily had been walking back to Gryffindor Tower when she had hear someone sniffling quietly. As Head Girl, it was her duty to help so she quickly made her way towards the noise. However, she stopped dead on her feet at the sight that greeted her. James Potter was kneeling in front of the boy, talking in a quiet and calming tone that seemed to successfully soothe the boy’s fears.
“Gryffindor Tower is just ahead, so you didn’t get completely lost. Don’t worry, in a few weeks you will know the castle like the back of your hand.” James stood up and started walking with the boy along the corridor. “You know, me and my best mate Sirius got so lost during our first month here too. Our friend Remus once had to spent a whole hour searching for us. We had been trying to get to the Astronomy classroom, but somehow found our way into the dungeons!! Can you believe it!”, Potter laughed.
Lily was shocked to hear Potter admit to making mistakes so openly. He had always try to show himself as excelling in everything. Though, lately things had changed. The person who had once filled her with contemptuous feelings had turned into a matured Head Boy, who took great care in his responsibilities and others. He still joked around, but his overconfidence had mellow out into something less arrogant and, dare she say it more appealing. Yeah, thought Lily, Potter really had changed.
The red-haired girl had been so immersed in her thoughts that she didn’t hear the sound of the boys getting nearer until it was too late to hide.
“Oh!… hi, Evans.”
Maybe he’s not that bad afterall. “Hi, Potter.”, greeted him back Lily, laughing quietly at Potter’s shocked expression. “Going to Gryffindor Tower?”
“Er, yeah.”
“I’ll come with.”
