⛤Ways to Celebrate Samhain⛤
In the past it was a tradition to have a bonfire, but since doing so is not accessible to many people, you could instead light a big candle!
A lot of practitioners love cooking and baking fall foods using products they’ve planted and harvested themselves, but if you don’t have a garden or have a hard time keeping your plants alive (trust me, I understand you.) you could buy products that are sold by local farmers and small businesses.
You could also choose to use certain herbs and spices that are almost impossible to kill-Just sprinkle some rosemary on your store bought pumpkin soup if cooking is not what you’re best at, it’s the thought that counts!
You can also invite your friends and family over for a Halloween Party and have a feast with some booze and food! Have some earthy meals and a bunch of Halloween themed candies.
You can also decorate your altar with fall items like pumpkins, acorns or maybe even pinecones…Almost anything works as long as it reminds you of this celebration.
You can check for correspondences if you’re having a hard time decorating your altar and need an idea or two regarding the arrangements!
After refreshing your altar you could think about giving offerings the deities/spirits you work with or paying respect to your ancestors.
You can also watch Halloween themed films or listen to music and sing/dance.
Remember that this day doesn’t have to be so serious and deep, pay your respects to Samhain and keep having fun!
It’s okay even if you don’t do any special spell or ritual! Just enjoy yourself!
Happy Spooky Season to all!

Hate (affectionate) how it's made so clear from the very beginning of part 1 just how loved Paul is by his family and household. Both his parents, Duncan, Gurney, Thufir, even Dr Yueh all clearly care so deeply for this kid, and we're shown that time and time again.
Cut to the end of part two, and almost every one of those people is gone. The only ones who remain are a weird, came-back-wrong version of Jessica, and Gurney who has gone from mentor to worshipper. Paul goes from someone deeply loved and valued for who he is by a small but caring group of people - to someone followed and worshipped and feared by thousands. They're obsessed with him in a way, as a leader and "messiah", but nobody loves him.
The only one remaining who loves him for who he is is Chani, who leaves him because in the end that love isn't enough to bring who he is back.

people make fun of the "oh you only hate her because she's a WOMAN" crazy feminist mentality but yeah actually you guys do only hate her because she's a woman a lot of times. for every hated female tv character there's ten male tv characters who are a million times worse and still given at least the "intriguing morally grey character" treatment if not straight up praise. for every hated female celebrity in real life there's one hundred famous men who have done worse and don't get half the hate she does. for every hated female politician, for every hated female historical figure, for the women you know in real life and on and on.

“What you hold onto is less important than the act of holding on itself. It’s so easy to get lost in ourselves and this world. Sometimes you need to find your way back one tiny miracle at a time.” - The Sunshine Court
WISHING THE HAPPIEST OF BOOK BIRTHDAYS TO @korakos! YOU DID IT AND ITS BLOODY BRILLIANT!
Please please excuse the disgusting things my iPad camera has done to this photo. This is the first time in years I’ve done something like this fully traditional and it has stretched so many rusty parts of my brain but I’m SO GLAD I got this done in time for release day! This book is WONDERFUL and I’m so happy it’s now out in the world!

The more I learn about judaism the more I wonder where tf christianity got all its bad shit. Why is divorce a sin in christianity when judaism has recognized the right to divorce for nearly a millennia and has codified religious laws for it. Why does christianity consider sex to be dirty (to the point where puritans considered it a sin to enjoy having sex with your own spouse) when in judaism it's considered holy and it's a literal mitzvah to have sex with your spouse on the sabbath. Why does christianity consider it a sign that you're faithless if you question your religion when in judaism that's considered an essential part to developing your faith. I'm probably stating the obvious here but I still can't get over the fact that there's no historical basis to any of this shit before christianity started, it's like christians just said "hey guys what if we took the torah and built a new religion around it but this time it was actively hostile to human life"
