Over-Time
CEO!Miguel x Shy/Clumsy!Reader!
Warning: MINORS DNI, eventual smut, slow-burn, mentions of sex, bullying, cussing
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Dear, (Y/N), you have been selected to join us for a group interview at Alchemax. Please arrive at appointed date and time below. Read and follow all instructions to ensure your interview. We can't wait to meet you."
Unable to fathom what you had just read, a loud gasp escaped your lips instead. All you really read was interview. Everything else blurred out since you were so excited to finally have a chance to leave your current job.
"Oh my gosh! Do I even have the proper clothes for an interview there?! I can't believe it!" You whispered, resisting a squeal.
This was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Alcehmax was one of the biggest companies in Nueva York. Everyone in their right mind wanted to get even a chance to work there. Hell, some people were happy just being a janitor there.
It was all anyone wanted to gloat about. Getting an interview was nearly impossible and yet, your clumsy ass managed to get it. You had prayed to every God you could think of. The questionnaire was a nightmare and where people failed the most.
"Okay, okay! I have to prepare...I have to practice..." You told yourself.
Interviews were hard for you. You were nervous around new people and freaked out when asked hard questions. Glancing at yourself in the mirror, you just smiled. You got this far. You had an interview to take and succeed in.
---------
"Lyla, have we found anyone decent enough within the last two group interviews?" Miguel asked with a grumble.
Lyla, Miguel's private assistant, just laughed. She took off her designer glasses and placed them on Miguel's desk. Miguel was the CEO of Alchemax. One of the richest men in all of Nueva York, and a man with a quick temper.
"We have some potential candidates for the open slot in Marketing, but no one to replace me for when I go on my vacaaaation~" Lyla sang happily. Miguel felt his eye twitch,
"Yes, I know. You haven't stopped bragging about your damn vacation all week. Would have been nice if you mentioned it sooner-"
"Oh, don't give me that, Migs. I had it pop up on your calendar every week for the past three months reminding you! It isn't my fault you don't look."
"I am a busy man. You know that because you make my schedule," Miguel hissed lowly then pinched the bridge of his nose, "Just-Ugh, I just find me someone who won't try and suck my dick within the first week."
Lyla just snickered as she typed on her tablet, "You need to find someone. Maybe it will make you less of a grump." She mocked.
Miguel exhaled loudly, glaring towards his assistant. It was a good thing that Miguel could tolerate that woman. Lyla was a close friend of his and knew how to push his buttons.
Leaning back in his seat, Miguel closed his eyes as he took the moment to rest. Lyla was going to be gone for a few months. She sure knew how to utilize her vacation time. Hell, Lyla had a tough job dealing with him. She deserved it.
"I just need someone....quiet."
---------
How could a building give off such an intimidating presence? It was as if all those powerful inside were warding off the weak and frail. The start of a challenging, yet welcoming part of your life. If you managed to do good in the interview.
Inhaling deeply, you gripped onto your folder and finally had the courage to make your way inside. You heard the stories, but Alchemax sure was a force to be reckon with. The inside of the reception floor felt like another world.
You had arrived super early. You were scared of being late and well, knowing yourself, you were probably going to get lost. Hopefully, your clumsiness won't get in the way of your interview.
"Ah-"
Magic words. Just thinking of it alone caused you to goof up. You had accidently bumped into someone while admiring the inside of the building.
"I-I'm s-so sorry!" You stuttered, panicked that you were fucking up already, "I wasn't looking! I'm sorry!"
"It's alright. Are you okay?" The man spoke as you picked up your paperwork that fell.
Tears were starting to form as you thought of running away. Glancing up at the stranger you bumped into, you sniffed and tried to compose yourself. The man before you had bend down and helped with your paperwork.
"No need to be afraid, I won't bite." The man said with a warming smile. You gulped, finding him very attrative,
"I'm sorry again."
"Oh? An interview?"
"Ah, yes. I'm a little early, but since I've never been here I wanted to make sure...I wouldn't get lost," You admited as he handed your paperwork, "Thank you. My name is (Y/N)."
"Miguel,"
You stood up, staring at the towering man before you. That name sounded familiar, but you were so focused on your goof up to remember. Everyone was probably staring at you, laughing and knowing that you were probably going to flunk the interview now.
"Come, I'll take you to the floor you're going to be at. There are drinks in the lobby once you arrive. Help yourself."
"Ah, thank you."
You were just lucky to have bumped into someone as nice as Miguel. If it were anyone else, they would have probably made you feel worse than you already do now.
---------
Miguel stayed quiet as he led you to the elevator. He won't lie that it was slightly amusing to find someone who didn't immediately recognized him. That and quite refreshing. Miguel wondered what you would think if you found out that he was the CEO.
Glancing ever so slightly in your direction, Miguel couldn't help but smile. It was like you were in your own little world. You were fumbling with your fingers while you had a slight look of panic on your face. Honestly, that was how people should look for an interview.
Alchemax was not a place to enter with confidence.
"What position are you applying for?" Miguel asked, wanting to ease your nerves.
"Oh!" You gasped lowly, "Marketing."
"Hm. How good are you with planning and scheduling?" He asked casually. Your shoulders raised slightly,
"I, um, I like to...It's easier for me when I have everything in an itinerary. Makes for unnecessary distractions and delays. I find myself at ease with a schedule," You admitted with such a carefree smile.
"And organization?"
"If I'm not overwhelmed I'm great with organizing things." You chirped, "Oh, um, will I get a lot of people talking and asking me questions if I do get hired here? I...I'm just a little shy and if I get overwhelmed I do tend to be clumsy."
Miguel resisted a chuckle, finding you quite entertaining. After another second of silence, Miguel watched as you gasped and covered your face with your folder.
How cute.
---------
How embarrassing!
Just because he was a handsome face and kind to you, doesn't mean you could get comfortable! It took you hours to practice talking to yourself in the mirror to prepare for an interview and now you were blabbing away nonsense to a stranger!
Feeling the elevator come to a stop. You gasped lowly, admiring the lobby before you.
"Here is your stop." Miguel spoke.
"Thank you," You bowed your head slightly, still embarrassed from rambling off.
As you stepped off the elevator, you gulped. Nerves started to kick in as you took your first step to a better future.
"Oh, and (Y/N)," Miguel called out, causing you to turn, "Best of luck."
"T-Thank you!"

The Witch & The Freak
Eddie Munson x Reader
Words: 5,132 (oh, boy...)
My first Eddie fic! I really could not help but stan this guy because, let's admit it, he's pretty adorable. I know we're well into November but I'm still feeling the Halloween vibes so this might get just a smidge creepy. It's long as hell, there's a little slice-of-life action, I just went with it but I hope you all enjoy!
Please like, reblog, or leave me a comment if you liked it!
------------------------------------
October 31, 1986
Somewhere in Salt Lake City, USA
Eddie Munson tightened his grip on the steering wheel, paying no mind as his knuckles turned white. His mind was obviously somewhere else, trying his hardest not to dwell on the fact that he was so totally lost. He had been driving on the same stretch of road for about half an hour now but not a single car had passed by him.
“Fuckin’ Henderson.” Eddie hissed, cursing his friend for getting him in this situation
Since when was he the babysitter anyway? Wasn’t that Harrington’s job? What was he doing wasting his Halloween playing chauffeur to Dustin Henderson when he could have been playing a killer Halloween setlist at the Hideout. He told Steve just as much but when he heard that Dustin didn’t have a ride back to Hawkins since his car was in the shop, Eddie was pretty much out the door without a second thought.
He was all huffy and puffy about it, sure. But if he was being honest, he just really needed a distraction from this weird feeling he was having that something was about to happen. He had no idea if it was something bad like a zombie ambushing him and eating his brains, or something good like finally getting off this damn road and back to civilisation.
Wherever this place was, it was giving him major heebie-jeebies. Probably because it was too goddamn quiet. Like the air was sucked out of the whole area.
“Radio!” he exclaimed, a light bulb finally going off in his head. He fumbled with the dials until the static finally turned into Steve Perry’s “Foolish Heart”
Eddie looked around with an eyebrow quirked up like he was expecting the gang to somehow pop up in the backseat. Once the coast was clear, he sang softly at first, bobbing his head along.
“I need a love that's strong, I'm so tired of being alone..”
As the song reached its peak, Eddie Munson, Eddie the Freak, Eddie the big bad guitarist of Corroded Coffin, belted out with all the passion he had,
“Foolish heart, hear me calling. Stop before you start falling!” he swayed side to side in time with the melody
What a sight to behold. A tried and true metalhead singing his little heart out to a mushy soft rock ballad. As far as everyone he knew was concerned, if it wasn’t metal, Eddie wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole. But honestly? He loved all types of music, he was just sure if people knew “Candle in the Wind” made him tear up, all the mean and scary street cred he had would fly out the window.
The music began to fade out and so did the tension in Eddie’s shoulders. He rolled them out, exhaling in relief.
“Nothing to be afraid of, Munson.” he chuckled to himself, “You’ve been through worse than a quiet roadtrip, haven’t ya?”
Instinctively, his free hand wandered to his stomach, tracing the length of marred skin. A constant reminder that no girl would want to see him shirtless ever again.
Just like that, his mind replayed the events of the last few months. Dustin shattering his leg carrying his dead weight back to the portal in the Upside Down, nearly losing Max forever, his month-long stay at the hospital, his very public trial and acquittal not long after, finally graduating.
He never was able to give Principal Higgins that one finger salute, not to his face at least but he did flip him one behind his back, the whole crew hooting and cheering for him from the stands.
Getting wrapped up in all those memories, Eddie didn’t even notice that “Total Eclipse of the Heart” started playing. It was another one of his guilty pleasure power ballads, only to be listened to using headphones, with his door and window firmly closed.
Turn around,
Every now and then I get a little bit lonely
And you're never coming 'round
Turn around…
Turn around…
Turn around…
What?
Eddie eyed his stereo warily as the lyric repeated over and over, he kept his hand on one of the dials but no matter how much he turned it, the station never changed, Bonnie Tyler’s voice just kept getting lower and lower until it was almost demonic.
TURN AROUND!
The volume maxed out of nowhere. Static and feedback mixing together at varying pitches, Hell's choir harmonising. Every hair on Eddie’s body stood on end and his hands started to shake. The calm he had built within himself shattering into pieces.
“C’mon, c’mon, c’mon.” he tried his hardest through his trembling hands to turn off the damn thing but to no avail
He pushed his foot into the gas, speeding along the deserted road, hoping it was just a really fucked up signal patch.
The distance did manage to get rid of the demon choir on his stereo but the damn thing still wouldn't turn off. The static, the fucking static was making him lose his mind. The screeching sound filled the entirety of the van and was close to crawling into his head.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. Be cool, Munson. Be fucking cool.” he breathed in and out steadily
Just as he was starting to have some semblance of calm, his engine started sputtering until gradually and agonisingly slowly, the van halted to a complete stop. Eddie could have sworn someone had it out for him. He got out of the van on shaky legs, his Reeboks crunching on the gravel as he lifted the hood of the van up.
A flashlight would've been handy. The streetlights did nothing to help him see any of the wiring. He couldn’t help but slam the hood down in frustration, the harsh sound echoing off into the night. Of course, something like this was happening to him. Noticing what was across the empty street only confirmed his beliefs that he was probably the unluckiest bastard to walk the earth.
A fucking cemetery of all the fucking places to be. At night. On Halloween. Smack dab in the middle of nowhere, USA.
“Just my fucking luck.” he exhaled, placing one hand flat on the slightly heated hood and the other on his chest, Eddie screwed his eyes shut and tipped his head forward, curly locks falling all around him
How did it get like this?
There he was, quietly making his way to his teenage friend who needed a ride home, a chivalrous act. Next thing he knows, he's a sitting duck right in the middle of the road. Easy prey for whoever wanted a piece of him. Of course, they'd have to go around the parts that haven't already been picked at.
He snorted at that.
Nothing like a bit of self-deprecating humour to get him up and running again. He raised his head and finally got his thoughts in order.
Obviously, the van was busted and he was stuck. That much was clear. According to his watch, it was thirty past one in the morning. He still had hours to go until dawn so he should probably get some rest. The rollercoaster of emotions he'd just been through was enough to drain whatever energy he had left.
"And so, it was decided," Eddie narrated in his Dungeon Master voice, climbing back in the van.
"Eddie the Banished would spend the night in his faithful but useless van, clutching in his grasp, the 2x4 he could never be bothered to throw away. Guess it came in handy in the end."
What was also handy were the blankets and pillows he stored in the back. He'd have to thank El for coming up with the idea after he took the gang out to a drive-in and literally everyone complained about how uncomfortable it was.
Oddly enough though? Eddie was comfortable. Having the van break down right across the street from a cemetery and that freaky thing with the stereo aside, being nestled in those blankets in the darkness of his van was actually kind of cozy. Hugging the 2x4 like a teddy bear, he drifted off to sleep, hoping he wouldn't have to use it.
A dull thud roused Eddie from his sleep. He shifted around in his blankets, nearly taking his eye out with the edge of the 2x4 he forgot he was cradling in his arms.
He groaned, cracking his knuckles above his head. He almost forgot where he was.
The realisation was like a cold bucket of water down his shirt. He let his guard down for God knows how long. What could be lurking out there? What if he was surrounded by enemies already? He shot up, crawling to the passenger’s side window. Eddie muttered his own version of a prayer under his breath and very cautiously took a look across the road.
Everything was pitch black beyond the rusty cemetery gates, save for a few lit candles. He could make out the flickering flames in the distance but other than that, not a fucking thing. Even the goddamn lamps perched on the gate didn’t seem to be working.
Eddie craned his neck to get a view farther along the moss covered stone wall that bordered the property. Nothing but rustling bushes and darkness.
Wait.
Rustling… Bushes?
Thankfully, his eyes were starting to adjust. He kept his gaze glued to one spot, hoping to catch whatever critter was in those bushes. Suddenly, a flashlight poked through the leaves. It circled the ground until it abruptly shone in the direction of the van. Eddie dove out of sight, immediately regretting the move. He was sure his cover was blown.
Army crawling back under his blankets, Eddie tried his best to peep out of the van's rear windows this time. The light in the bushes was gone and there wasn't anyone in sight.
He sighed in relief. Safe for now but his mind was running wild with theories of who could be in the bushes
A squatter, maybe?
Someone trying to set up camp for the night?
This wasn't exactly a camper's hot spot but who knows, right? Nine times out of ten, Eddie's morbid curiosity led him to places he couldn't even imagine.
Out of the quiet, he heard it. A little muffled from his spot inside the van but it was there all the same.
"GOD DAMN IT!" the voice from outside yelled
Eddie froze, brown eyes bigger than even thought possible.
Not much had changed outside. The light was still gone, the bush was still moving. No other cars had passed by. Though that little expletive was confirmation that there was a person in the bushes.
What he was going to do with that information was still up for debate.
He could just leave it alone… Really though, what good was it going to get him if he left the safety of his van?
But then again, what if they needed help? No one in their right mind would be poking around cemetery bushes if they weren’t in some form of distress. If there was something that Eddie learned from what he went through, it was never to run away.
He was still fucking scared though, don’t get him wrong. But he wasn’t going anywhere.
With a deep exhale, he stepped out of the van, trusty 2x4 in hand.
His pulse thumped uncomfortably in his ears, like at any time his eardrums would burst. Every step he took to close the distance between him and the cemetery gate, he felt like he was being watched by unseen eyes.
“Christ.” he muttered, trying not to look straight at the candle-speckled darkness that lay ahead
His footsteps went unheard as his mystery lurker continued to… Well, lurk in the bushes, moving to and fro along a particular stretch of grass.
“Uh, hello? Do you need any help?” his voice wavered ever so slightly at the end of his sentence
The rustling stopped. For Eddie, it seemed like everything stopped in those few seconds where he thought he was going to die for real this time.
That was until, you finally poked your head out.
Then everything stopped for Eddie a second time.
You had to be a ghost or something right? Because there was no way. NO WAY. Anyone alive could look as ethereal and unreal as you. Sure, there were leaves stuck in your hair and dirt streaked on your cheek but to Eddie that just made you look even more heart-stopping.
“Uh,” you cleared your throat, rising to your feet and dusting yourself off as best you could
Taking stock of your sudden companion, you mentally checked off a list.
Long shaggy hair, check. The devil on his shirt, check. And finally, big brown eyes, check. Though your powers of divination were improving, they still didn't work well enough to find the damn crystal you dropped.
“Hi, um. I’m sure this looks a little strange,” you gestured to the bushes you’ve been searching through for the past fifteen minutes or so.
“But I, well I dropped something around here and I’m having a real tough time finding it as you can see.” you chuckled breathily, patting at your jeans, knees covered in grass stains
“Oh, uh,” Eddie stepped towards you, feeling a weird sort of gravitational pull. “When’d you lose it? The caretakers might’ve done away with it, y’know.”
“That’s not it.” you waved your hand dismissively, returning your gaze to the grass beneath your sneakered feet. “I lost it just now when I fell off that damn gate.”
Something was totally off, Eddie could feel it. For starters, he kept involuntarily walking towards you, completely disregarding the bush right in front of him. He couldn’t even see his Reeboks underneath the leaves anymore. Second, his eyes were practically glued to the ground. Every time he'd try to raise his head, it was like there was a hand pushing it back down again, forcing him to search for something but he had no idea what.
“Just uh,” he walked along the line of bushes just as you did, squinting at the ground. “Just now, huh? What’re you even doing here at this time? It’s uh, it isn’t safe.”
He crouched down and began poking at the bushes with his 2x4. The intent look on his face made you giggle, he was an easy one to influence.
“While I appreciate the concern, I can take care of myself just fine, thank you. Now, be a doll and look over there..”
Like a little marionette, Eddie made his way over to the bush you were pointing at. He couldn’t even stop to question why the hell he was just blindly following your orders, his brain was covered in a thick fog. His one-track mind concerned only with finding what you had lost.
“It would be really helpful if I knew what I was looking for.” he whispered to himself.
Before he could even blink, you were only two steps away from him. How the hell did you do that?
"You'll know it when you see it." you said, watching him closely
The close proximity was making Eddie's head spin, if he was being honest. The scent of warm cinnamon sugar mixed with the dewy grass you fell in wafted off you and invaded his senses. Not even the pricier stuff in his stash could make him feel this way.
This had to stop. Somehow his hijacked brain connected the dots, whatever effect you had on him would only stop if he found what you were looking for. He took the flashlight from your hand and got on his knees.
"That's a bit much, isn't it?" you remarked, tilting your head to see how he was doing
"You're.. You're doing something to me." Eddie struggled to get the words out. His lips were barely moving, like they’d been glued together and it was just starting to dry
"Huh. Intuitive." you thought. Perhaps shutting him up was a bit much but you were exhausted and really wanted to get home.
As he swung the flashlight to search somewhere else, a glint partially obscured by a fallen leaf caught Eddie's eye. He bent down and flicked the leaf out of the way, revealing a shiny, palm sized pink stone of some sort. As he picked it up, it felt warm to the touch.
“Rose quartz.” you filled him in, closing your hand over his
Of course Eddie had no fucking idea what that was but you had his full attention, you were only about a hair’s breadth away from each other now.
“Eddie Munson.” you smiled slowly, noticing how your heart was beating a little too fast
At the mention of his name, he could feel the haze that had settled in his mind starting to lift. He nodded, still not able to produce any words with your hand still in his. You weren’t sure if he could feel it, but the rose quartz began to vibrate under your entwined hands.
What that meant, you weren’t entirely sure.
In one fluid movement, you managed to take your crystal out of his hand and step away.
You cleared your throat and dropped your crystal into your bag with the others, "The love crystal."
“What?” Eddie’s lips were finally functioning again but he felt out of breath
“The one you picked up. It’s also called the love crystal.” you clarified, kicking at some pebbles with the tip of your shoe
“Crystal…” he shook his head, looking at you apprehensively. “What the hell did you just do to me back there? Are you some kind of witch or something?"
"If I’m being totally honest, I find that term offensive and I don’t like being called that. It’s so goddamn archaic…"
"Wait, hold on-"
"...I mean, what is this? The 17th century? You gonna report me to the Witchmaster General too?"
"SHUT UP!" Eddie yelled, his voice echoing all throughout the empty street
His sudden outburst caused you to let go of your bag of crystals, the lot of them clattering to the ground. You tsk-ed in annoyance before dropping to your knees to round them all up again.
"Was just trying to make conversation. Didn't have to fucking yell at me." you muttered, occasionally shooting nasty looks at him
He joined you on the ground, hurriedly picking up your crystals. "Shit, um. Look, I'm sorry. I just.. Well, how the hell do I even put this. You're-You're a witch? Like an actual real life witch? Is that how you knew my name?"
"No, you idiot. I watched your trial a few months back. I bet everyone in America knows your fucking name.”
“Oh.”
“But I am a witch.”
“Oh.”
The thing about him is his wit was always quicker than his common sense. The quip was already tumbling out of his mouth before he could stop himself.
“Hey, I thought you didn’t like being called a witch?”
“I don’t.” you almost growled at him
Oh, man, if looks could kill… There would definitely be a grave at that cemetery with Eddie’s name right on it but his brain-to-mouth filter wasn’t going to start working just because of that.
“Alright, alright.” he put his hands up in mock defence, “You got a name or should I just call you Sabrina?”
The silence stretched long between you, both of you sizing the other up. Then, much to Eddie’s relief, you burst out in laughter. He wasn’t exactly sure what that meant for him but the sound made him smile anyway.
“Oh, you’re funny,” you held out a small bag towards him, “Drop my stuff in here please.”
“Not gonna lie, I was a hundred percent expecting you to sock me in the jaw.” he chuckled, doing as he was told.  The sound of the crystals knocking together was kind of soothing for him.
“I really wanted to.”
“Well, I’m glad you didn’t.”
“I’m glad too.”
You two stood there for a beat, saying nothing, just awkward half-smiles and heads filled with scrambled thoughts. Most of them consisted of wondering how someone could be this pretty.
“That must be some name if you’re gonna keep me waiting this long.” he stuffed his hands in his pockets, a playful twinkle in his brown eyes
Heat rose to your cheeks in an instant. “It’s Y/N. You can call me Y/N.”
Call it sleep deprivation or being under the light of the moon too much but the sound of your name automatically plastered a smile onto his face. God, if the kids could see him now acting all cheesy. He’d never hear the end of it.
“Well, I guess I don’t need to tell you my name.”
“Nope.” you shook your head
Warmth flooded your body as you kept your gaze on his smiling brown eyes. Oh, he was cute.
“Sooo,” he began, swaying while placing his hands behind his back
You in turn, crossed your arms over your chest and raised an eyebrow, the move made him want you to step on him. He didn’t even care that you only knew his name because of all the murders it was associated with.
“Sooo?”
He scoffed, throwing his arms up, “Come on! You’re really not going to tell me what you were doing? In the bushes? At this time of night?”
The rise in his pitch was definitely starting to sound like a whine, a small smirk played on your lips.
"I thought you got the gist already." you teased, gently shaking your bag of crystals
Would you believe that he actually pouted? You were struggling to keep your eyes off his plump pink lips.
“Well, would you be kind enough to enlighten me?” he whined some more, completely melting away your defences
“Since you asked so nicely,” you smiled, reaching into your little bag
The first crystal you held up to the moonlight was the exact one you'd hoped for, Tiger's Eye. It glowed in different shades of brown. Almost the exact same shade as Eddie's eyes. You made eye contact with him and winked which made him blush in return.
"It’s nothing complicated," you began, "People use crystals for a lot of different things so just like a human would, they get worn out."
"So, the moonlight.. Recharges them or something?" Eddie ventured a guess
"Exactly! Very good, Eddie. We might make a warlock of you yet."
Ah, praise. A surefire way to get on his good side. Not that you weren't already.
"And the cemetery?" he asked, already wondering if ghosts had something to do with it. Could you see ghosts too? Would you be offended if he asked?
“I was coming from a party. I cut through the cemetery and figured I’d do a cleansing since the moon was full.” you shrugged nonchalantly
The simplicity of it all made Eddie laugh out loud, soon enough you found yourself laughing along too.
“Maybe I should have said something cooler, like oh the spirits of the dead fuel the crystals with more energy.”
He wiped at his eyes, feeling his cheeks hurt from smiling too much. “No, no. I, uh, I appreciate your honesty.”
“And you?” you nodded to his van across the street, “Camping?”
“Ah, something like that, madame,” he replied in a mock posh accent, “I’m afraid my faithful steed has let me down tonight.”
You looked at the van pensively while Eddie admired the slopes and angles of your face like a dorky schoolkid looking at his first crush.
“Mind if I take a look?”
“Huh?” he blushed hard, hoping you didn’t notice him drooling all over you. “Oh, uh, yeah. You know about cars? Or is there like, a crystal for car trouble?”
It was a completely innocent question, his tone filled with curiosity. Absolutely nothing like the other mocking questions and judgmental looks you usually got when people found out your beliefs. You couldn’t help but walk a little closer to Eddie’s side as you made your way over to the van.
“Not car trouble, but there is one to ward off car accidents and stuff like that.” you answered, lifting up the hood and producing a mini flashlight from your back pocket
Eddie tried, like he really tried not to be a creep but you were just so goddamn pretty. The shadows that continually moved across your face as you moved your flashlight across the engine reminded him of this nightlight he had that spun around, sending stars all over his dark room. But tonight instead of stars, he had you and he preferred that more.
“Eddie, could you try starting it up, please?” your brows knitted together as you shut the hood
He could’ve lassoed the damn moon if you asked.
To his surprise, the van roared to life with the radio blasting the chorus of “I Wanna Know What Love Is” deep into the night. Eddie scrambled to get it under control while you doubled over in laughter.
“I didn’t peg you as the power ballad type, Eddie.” you walked over to the driver’s side and perched your arms on the lowered window
“Well, I didn’t peg you as the mechanic type, Y/N.” he countered, cheeks burning but he still found it in himself to bring his face closer to yours
He could pinpoint the exact second your pupils dilated and Eddie figured it was as good a time as ever to finally do what he'd been thinking about all night since seeing you.
"Thank god for that fucking rose quartz." Eddie mumbled before softly pressing his lips to yours
It was almost as if your lips were covered in a million tiny live wires, sending your entire body alight with sensation. The air was positively snap-crackle-and popping all around you, all that was missing were the actual sparks.
Eddie pulled away for a second to jump out of the van and take you in his arms, he smelled of leather, soap, and a hint of smoke. It was almost second nature to you, wrapping your arms around his waist and letting him kiss you once again.
Despite your disdain for the term, you were a witch. That much was true. You had abilities, you studied, and you practised. But this right here, kissing Eddie. That was a whole other sort of magic all together.
Once you found it in yourselves to pull away, breathing hard and smiling like fools, you hopped in the van.
“What did you do to get her running again?” Eddie asked, making sure you fastened your seatbelt
“Nothing. There wasn’t even anything wrong.”
He decided to leave it at that. Eddie just pecked you on the cheek before pulling back into the road with you guiding him on the right track to the Bingham House which surprisingly, you didn't live far from.
As the sky changed from midnight blue to a purple-dusted orange, you and Eddie watched and talked as the sun began to peek just over the horizon. He told you about his life in Hawkins and about what really happened, the whole demobats took a pound of flesh from him truth, not the censored bullcrap the authorities told him to stick with. He didn't doubt it when you said you believed him.
You told him all about your abilities, about all the people who just didn't understand, how you really did make him do your bidding back there and how you foresaw that he'd be coming for you. It all flowed out, the easiest conversation either of you had in your lives.
"Quite a pair we are, huh?" he nudged you affectionately, an easy smile on his face
You nodded, reaching over to lace your fingers through his, "The witch and the freak."
"The witch and the freak." he agreed, bring your hand to his lips
…
"So, just take the next left then straight on till morning, Eddie." you kissed him one last time before hopping out of the van
"Aw, c'mon, Y/N." he whined and pouted
Him whining and pouting was quickly becoming one of your weaknesses.
"It's just one more block, why won't you come with me? Had enough of me already?"
"Because, Eddie! My mom's going to kill me if she catches me sneaking in. Don't worry, we'll be seeing each other again soon."
Eddie knew the finality in your voice wasn't for nothing, you've probably already seen how this was going to go but still, he loved pushing your buttons.
He scooted to the passenger's seat, "And how are you so sure about that, hm?" he puckered his lips at you
With a chuckle, you planted a big 'ol smooch on his waiting lips. Already visualising what the next time you'd see each other would be like.
"Because I'm sure! Now go! The Binghams usually serve a feast for breakfast. I hope you like kids!" you waved him off, already knowing that you didn't need to consult your cards to see if you were right or not.
You blew him a kiss which he playfully stuffed in the pocket of his jean jacket before slipping quietly into your house.
"Oh, what a night," Eddie shamelessly sang along to Frankie Valli, shimmying his hips as much as he could while seated
"What a lady, what a nigh-Oh shit!" he slammed his foot on the brakes, tires squealing against the pavement
He forgot to ask for your phone number.
"Stupid, stupid, stupid!" Eddie hissed, bonking his head on the wheel
Just as he was about to turn back around, he noticed something on the passenger's seat that definitely wasn't there five seconds ago.
A crystal that Eddie recognised was the colour of your eyes and a note.
"When did she have the time to write this?" he wondered
It seemed like you already knew he was going to think that.
"I'm a witch, remember?" the note began, making Eddie shake his head in awe
You're under strict rules to keep this crystal with you at all times, Eddie. It will protect you and hopefully make you think of me. We will be seeing each other again very soon.
Love, Y/N.
You also had the foresight to scrawl your number on the back along with,
Can't believe you forgot to ask!! >:(
Which made Eddie Munson giggle. Thank God no one was around to witness it or else he'd never live it down.
Having everything he needed, Eddie started up the radio again and went on his way to the Bingham's.
Those fingers in my hair
That sly come-hither stare
That strips my conscience bare
It's witchcraft.
"You got that right, Frank," Eddie placed a kiss on the crystal you left him, "You got that right."

FIVE YEARS AGO || P.5
Tumblr media Tumblr media
youtube
Summary: What happens when you find your way back to a good friend from the past through a song he wrote five years ago?
<- Last part - next part ->
Eddies p.o.v
I was playing on my guitar and trying to learn a new song to play. It's much more quiet than what I usually play. Yeah, it's not really my type of music, but I really like it: Billie Bossa Nova by Billie Eilish. don't ask, it's a good fucking song.
"SHIT" I just can't focus, and it's so freaking annoying.
I guess that my mind is not here right now. No, not only right now. This past month,I've… ugh....I lost one of my favorite rings, and now I can't stay focused on my guitar.
I think that I can say that this is not my best month. I just can't seem to get my mind off of her. I can't believe that she kept that song, I can't even believe I saw her. I held her hand in mine.... at first I thought that she didn't recognize me, but.. she did, she really did.
Despite the fact that everything seemed to happen in a split second, I was able to look at her eyes…her beautiful, beautiful eyes. ugh I wish I had more time to look into those shiny eyes, I wish that I had more time to talk to her, even if it's just for a minute, just to hear her voice, to see her damn gorgeous face.
someone's calling Eddie
He got out of bed so quickly that he nearly dropped his guitar on the floor, which is completely out of character for Eddie, who values his guitar more than he values himself.
" Hello? what did she said? " He didn't even give the other person an opportunity to say anything " just like that? without Hey, how are you? Are you all right? Maybe I got hurt on the way- "
" Michelle, can you please come over?"
- Michelle came over to eddie,she was laying on his bed, tired, she might be a little older than Eddie, but she acts like some mom with five kids.
" Can you RELAX, kid? You're making me dizzy, please sit down."
He was walking back and forth in his room, not sure of what to do next.
"I'm sorry, but I dunno what to do, I can't just write back and say, Hey, yeah, Y/n, it's me Eddie, let's meet and catch up." He sat down and she said, " Yes, you definitely can do it, and I can show you how." She picked up her phone and texted Eddie. " Easy as that." She sent him Y/ns email address to him. " yeah, I believe I could have figured it out on my own " " so? you just gonna make me tell you everything she's saying or.. you are going to talk her ?
he smiled, not really sure what to answer
" no thank you young man, you want to to talk to her, no , actully , you NEED to talk her, not me "
shit man... I guess she is right.....

Y/n's p.o.v
" Have you heard about the movie that is going to be at a drive-in this week? Bohemian rhapsody is such a good movie, I'm glad that they are showing it again " you and Kat are hanging out again - (of couse) but this time you are at her house .
" yeah, I'm going with Ross and his mom, she loves Queen " I looked at her pretending to be hurt " ouch, my heart ". " oh I'm sorry bae, do you want to join us ? " what a cutie " no no, you have a date with your boyfriend and his mother, I'm not supposed to there with you ". " I know what you can do, why don't you text um, Michelle.. right?and get Eddie's number, then invite him out to the movie, you've been to a drive-in before only once, right? don't miss it "
yeah, I don't think so bestie " uh uh, I don't even have the guts to ask Michelle about him in general. "
" But you've got this great opportunity to meet him, and I don't think it'll be too awkward because you'll both be focused on the movie, oh and he likes old songs like you right? that's perf- "
" Kat, let's- sigh let's relax okay? did you considered the possibility that he might not even want to talk to me at all? she sigh
" and why do you think so? Y/n I think you are overthinking it, seriously, he's a human being like you, and let's just say he doesn't want to talk to you for some strange reason, then you're going to know that you tried to contact him. "
I guess she's right.... I mean, I don't have a lot to lose anyways, right?
" you are probbly right Kat " " so does that mean that you're going to invite him to watch the movie? " she asked happily " no... but it means that I agree with you." she rolled her eyes for the hundredth time in this conversation and leaned back in her bed.
" oh my god Y/n, you are so annoying! " you laughed.
Few hours later
It was getting dark outside,you were in the living room, laying comfortably on the sofa, the TV was on but you weren't paying attention to what was on the screen because you were watching Tiktok videos on your phone.
( Imagine something like that )

Everything was pretty normal, you thought that if you were on Tiktok, it wil help you to distract yourself from thoughts about Eddie.
Maybe it really isn't that serious? Maybe it'll even be nicer than you think, of course. It doesn't mean you will go back to being good friends like you used to be,even though you really want to. we'll just meet, chat and-
huh? I got a new messege from an unknown number?
.....
I don't like it

𖦹°。⋆ haikyuu boys as my breakup playlist pt.2
Tumblr media
⟡ featuring: osamu, ushijima, sakusa, bokuto
⟡ cw: angst, relationship neglect?, sad bokuto</3
⟡ an: i listen to a lot of break up songs. some of these songs are newer btw. characters dont prioritize reader is basically the unofficial theme for this one except for bo bc he can never do wrong in my eyes.
⟡ part one, part three
Tumblr media
⟡ miya osamu: ghost of you - 5 seconds of summer
when osamu opened onigiri miya,  you started seeing less of each other. you missed him and he said would try to spend more time with you. and he did. osamu started coming home earlier and you both fell more in love with each other and it felt like things were starting to look up! but after a month, osamu started to spend more time at the onigiri miya again. by now, you knew what as more improtant to him and it wasn't you. but you gave him one last chance. your anniversary was coming up and you knew that osamu would never miss your tradition of going to the diner you two went to on your first date. but when the day came and you were at home sitting alone at midnight, you had finally lost all hope and started packing a some of your things so you could leave and come back at a later time to pick up the rest of your stuff. the next morning, osamu didn't think much of the empty house, he thought you were just at work until he saw a note you left behind telling him you were done. telling him that you were done coming in second place to the restaurant when all you wanted was to see your lover and spend time with him. now osamu stood in the middle of the once shared house, surrounded by everything that reminded him of you, crying because he knew he fucked up.
⟡ ushijima wakatoshi: sand - dove cameron
ushijima has always been a stoic man, everyone knows this. he was never good at expressing his emotions, not even to you. at the beginning of the relationship, everything felt perfect, his presence was warm, and he made you feel like the only person in the world. you knew that even though he was no good at expressing his love for you or conveying any other emotions for that matter, that ushijima would always be there for you when you needed him most. that was until you realized that the ‘honeymoon phase’, had come to an end for you and the star volleyball player. at first you thought it was just because you had gotten used to each other so nothing was really exciting or new in the relationship. you kept thinking this until one day when ushijima said he needed to talk to you. dread filled your heart and mind afraid of what he had to say. later that night, ushijima came over to your place and you both sat down. “i can’t love you the way you want me to love you, yn” were the first words that came out of his mouth. you didn’t know what to say but you managed to mutter out a small why. ushijima then stood up and walked towards your front door about to leave but not before saying “i can’t let you get between me and volleyball right now, i’m sorry.” and with that, ushijima left. he left barely leaving you with anything while you had given him nearly all of you over the last year.
⟡ sakusa kiyoomi: i miss myself - renforshort
sakusa isn't the controlling type but it still felt like you had to walk on eggshells when you were around him. you figured out that he had a somewhat short temper at the beginning of your relationship but you just thought that that was because sakusa felt the need to keep his guard up. everyone assumes that the only thing sakusa would freak out about is cleanliness but there was so much more that you had to be aware of with him like the tone of your voice, how loud you speak, what you talk about, whatever you can think of- you had to be careful. even though he would never explicitly tell you to knock something off or to shut up, you could see it in the way he looks at you with his cold, dark eyes. of course, you didn’t think it was a big deal. not until you were hanging out with one of your friends who said that you don’t seem the way you used to be. that you seemed like you were more on edge than usual. this kept you up at night for a week. throughout the week you thought back to how you used to be before you started dating sakusa, you were more outgoing and vibrant, you found joy in the little things but now you find yourself overthinking every little thing you do. finally, you worked up the courage to talk to sakusa. you told sakusa that you felt like you couldn’t be yourself around him anymore and that you just wanted clarification on what you should be careful about so he could be more comfortable (again, thinking more about him than yourself). but sakusa only scoffed at you and told you that if you wanted him to be comfortable to get out of his life. so you did but you were too far gone and are no longer able to be who you used to be.
⟡ bokuto koutarou: angels like you - miley cyrus
bokuto is the biggest sweetheart on planet earth. he’s never done you wrong but you can’t help but feel like you weren’t enough for him. bokuto has always reassured you that you were everything that hes ever wanted and needed but no matter what you couldn’t shake the feeling. everytime you would be upset, you would distance yourself from everyone including bokuto. this made him sad, i mean all he wanted to do was help his loved one cheer up but he was only left confused when you wouldn’t let him. bokuto would often bring you flowers whenever he noticed something was upsetting you and you loved it everytime but it only left a stinging pain in your chest because you hated making him worry. you knew he would have his own mood swings, but you didn’t want to be the cause of one of them. it was your biggest fear, that you would make him sad one day. bokuto was the ball of energy and happiness while you saw yourself as a thunderstorm, ready to pour down on everyone’s parade. you knew bokuto was too good for you and hurt you to admit but you had to face the truth sooner or later before you end up hurting him more than necessary. the day you broke things off with him was the worst day of bokuto’s life to date. you cried into eachother’s arms for what seemed like hours, he begged you to stay, he told you that he wanted to help you with anything you needed, he didn’t want you to go through hardships alone. bokuto lost the battle and accepted that this was for the better for you. bokuto could only hope that you would come back to him one day because he would take you back in a heartbeat.

The Farfetch’d Family
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Poor, poor Farfetch’d. This Normal/Flying type stands as one of the first generation’s most unfortunate, receiving no special forms, buffs, or abilities for nearly 22 years.
Not that there’s a whole lot to Farfetch’d as it stands, but a duck using a spring onion for a weapon is charming enough in its own right, especially when that onion is strong enough to cleave small trees apart. Farfetch’d would even gain access to the move Leaf Blade in later generations, usually reserved for Grass types who had leaves on their bodies. Farfetch’d just uses its trusty onion instead.
If you were confused about why Farfetch’d was made, it comes from a Japanese proverb which directly translates as “a duck comes bearing spring onions,” which refers to good fortune and new opportunities. It's amusing that a whole Pokemon was born from this, especially since the proverb references the fact that duck and onion taste well when cooked together. However, it seems the creators over at Game Freak lost interest in this joke pretty fast, since Farfetch’d remained sidelined and untouched for many years while its comrades all got fancy new Abilities and Mega Evolutions.
Until one fateful day, that is…
Tumblr media
The eighth generation gave the world Galarian Farfetch’d, now a grizzled Fighting type carrying an absolutely massive onion. While the original Farfetch’d lacked any particular character or personality, Galarian Farfetch’d does at least boast a grumpier expression, darker color scheme, and best of all, thicker eyebrows. This Farfetch’d’s personality isn’t elaborated on too much, but if it’s anything like its expression would imply, then I’m sure it’s quite amusing.
Tumblr media
And finally, Farfetch’d is able to evolve into the suave-looking Sirfetch’d. With an absurd amount of onion, to boot! It’s got all the confidence of an overzealous Prince Charming to boot, with that smug expression and puffed out chest. I won’t lie, the visual of this tiny little duck decimating ne’er-do-wells with its giant onion sword is quite amusing.
…but, is that all? After all these years, that’s what Farfetch’d ends up with? Oversized vegetables? I suppose if you were really attached to Farfetch’d for so many years you’d grow to love its design and may hate to see it changed too dramatically, but surely those people were expecting something more dramatic, no?
Tumblr media
Lo and behold, during a content leak a few years ago, a beta of the second generation games were discovered featuring several never-before-seen Pokemon designs, and one was an enigmatic evolution for Farfetch’d that had never been touched by Game Freak since. What!!! All this time it languished unloved, and Farfetch’d was originally supposed to become a masked goose warrior, or something?? What made Game Freak drop this idea???
Tumblr media
I originally had a much longer rant written about how underwhelming Sirfetch’d is, but I’ll try to summarize it for brevity's sake. Basically, Sirfetch’d bothers me so much because it feels like an icon of missed potential. After all these years, Farfetch’d’s evolution is mostly just Farfetch’d with bigger onion weapons. Now, evolutions which are just their previous forms but bigger are not inherently bad in my mind, but only when that previous design feels ‘complete.’ I admit this is a highly subjective and indeterminate word to use, but it’s been mostly unanimous among Pokemon fans that Farfetch’d always deserved an evolution which took its design a few steps further, and Sirfetch’d isn’t quite that. To add insult to injury, Sirfetch’d is exclusive to a regional form which is not extremely unlike normal Farfetch’d. It thus doesn’t make sense, to me at least, why it couldn’t just be made so normal Farfetch’d could evolve into Sirfetch’d.
Regardless, I will make it clear I completely understand Sirfetch’d’s appeal and why it’s captured many people’s hearts. This smug little duck knight does have a certain charm to it, I just wish it was incorporated better to support poor old Kantonian Farfetch’d. I don’t hate Sirfetch’d, I just wish it could be better. I want to like it.
It’s better than Perrserker, at least.
Score: 3/5
Tumblr media
The whole line does at least carry a certain level of comical appeal, in their own unique ways.

Note
dude, could you give me movie recommendations then??
mainly i said i should stop giving recommendations because my movie tastes and opinions are Wack sbshjsbjhsbs but i will make an exception <3
i mostly just scoured my letterboxd (@/eroscalling ;] ) for movies i’ve really liked in the past year or two so sorry if you’ve seen some sbshjsbsh a lot of brain worms here sbsjhbshs
❥ freaked (1993)
it was inevitable that something alex winter and/or keanu reeves would show up on here but HERE ME OUT !!! you may think to yourself in the first ten minutes that ‘WOW this is terrible’ and you’d be right because the comedy IS awful except. it’s SO awful you have to laugh. and THEN it gets better from there, i swear. there’s the dichotomy within ricky over being himself AND a monster, some found family, and a happy (yet still hilarious) ending to it all. it’s quite insanity inducing
[actual description: child star ricky coogan is interviewed on the story of him flying out to a small country in south america to help promote a fertilizer that’s been banned in the US, only to end up at a desolate freak show with his two companions (one new, one old) and have to find a means of escape after a mad scientist has turned them into attractions themselves]
———
❥ private romeo (2011)
another one i’ve been kinda back on my bullshit about sbshjsbsh but it’s SO good !!! i’m sure there are other gay romeo & juliet adaptations out there but this one is just. amazing and sets itself apart from all of the others. seth numrich and matt doyle’s acting and chemistry? IMMACULATE !!! pretty early on the dialogue switches from modern speech to recitation of lines from the play but everyone’s body language and interpersonal relationships with one another really SELL the plot and help you understand it, even if the words are a bit difficult for the average person to comprehend (also it was the film yassen and i got together because of so sbshjbshs)
[actual description: one weekend, the higher ranking officers and a few top qualified students at a military academy go on a training retreat, leaving a decent sized group of students at the academy unsupervised and with their copies of romeo & juliet they’re beginning to read in their english/literature class; as the weekend progresses, two students, sam and glenn, begin to realize that their feelings for each other have bloomed and progressed, causing them to do their best to stay together]
———
❥ the personal history of david copperfield (2019)
I JUST THINK THIS MOVIE (and dev patel) IS NEAT !!! i have no basis on how it compares to other adaptations or the book but i reallyyyy like this one as it is !!!  i think the dynamic transitions in the timeline and the coloring work REALLY well in moving the plot forward and making every character, or at least every event in david’s life, very unique and stand out from each other. and i LOVE the cast... love the inclusion of at least a Few actors of color and just the way everyone plays off each other... it’s just so wholesome and the adventure really grips you every second
[actual description: following the publishing of his book, autobiographer david copperfield reads it aloud in front of a theatre audience, detailing the shenanigans and relationships he’s grown up with and how they’ve affected, creating the person that he is today]
———
❥ billy elliot (2000)
everyone say thank you to young jamie bell for your rights. yeah no this movie is SO heart-clenching AND heartfelt... at first you’re just like ‘yeah, you know, this is alright’ but then it punches you in the feels... just... billy’s journey to find something he’s passionate about and actively pursuing that passion... his relationship with michael and his family... the general atmosphere created by the hardships at the time and how they reflect on the elliotts’ home life... the only reason i haven’t gotten around to rewatching it is because i know it will make me SOB...
[actual description: young billy elliott is the son of a miner in northern england during the mid 80s, dealing with how the miners’ strikes his father and brother are partaking in are affecting their financial situation while simultaneously coming to terms with a small interest in ballet and trying to chase that interest, in spite of what his father and society have to say about it]
———
❥ the half of it (2020)
yes another gay film and another coming of age film <3 what of it <3 it’s so good and unconvential though... it’s not your typical nerdy girl and jock get together at ALL— spoiler: it’s no where close to even being a plot point. paul and ellie’s friendship is !!! so beautiful though !!! there’s so much trust and platonic love there !!! and also !!! a chinese MC which, as we all know, is very rare in hollywood, especially under uh ellie’s ‘circumstances’... it’s yet another heart-clencher and is just very feel good...
[actual description: realizing he has a crush on one of the most popular girls in school, young paul turns to the girl in his grade who everyone pays to write their essays for them, as he’s not the most eloquent writer himself, and asks if she’ll help him write his crush love letters to win her affection; ellie is at first reluctant, but eventually realizes the money could help keep her and her father afloat, finding some feelings of her own along the way]
———
❥ the farewell (2019)
i was going to stop at five but i couldn’t decide between this or the half of it so you get both !!! the farewell is soooo sweet and tear-jerking... you get a real sense of the main family’s bond and love for each other, as well as a bit of a culture shock if, like me, you’re a westerner who doesn’t know the full extent of the intricacies of chinese families and the culture in general. every character is unique and dynamic, each having wonderful portrayals of their individual flaws and reactions to every step of the journey that they’re going through. not to mention, i would assume a lot of first gen / children of immigrants can really relate to billi’s experience of basically having two halves of herself, the american side and the chinese side, and the struggles that come from being thrown into that situation... it’s just... Perfect
[actual description: billi is a young woman in her 20s who is having trouble managing her life, only to have to put it on hold when her parents reluctantly tell her that her grandmother has been diagnosed with lung cancer and that the family is going to come together in case this is their last opportunity to; the twist is that they all must keep it a secret from the grandmother that she is even sick, which is a secret billi has a hard time keeping]

Welcome to My World
Genre: Soulmate AU
Pairing: Jason Todd x Gender Neutral!Reader
Requested: Yes (REQUESTS ARE CLOSED, this was for my 1.5K follower celebration)
Word Count: 1.6K
Warnings:  Swearing, slight angst, fluff
Description:  You wind up in your favorite comic book character’s world and find out that he’s your soulmate.  Jason Todd wants to know how you know his secret identity since he was in his Red Hood gear when you met, but your answer is the last thing he expected to hear.
Tumblr media
Hey, are you all right?
Those five words were tattooed on your inner arm, the first words your soulmate would ever speak to you.  Every time someone asked you that question you would tense up and respond waiting for their initial reaction as they realized who you were to them.  But the response never came.  The “Oh my God you’re my soulmate” never happened.  And year after year that passed you felt like maybe you would never meet them.
You found solace in comics, in the stories of heroes, and wondering what it would be like to be their soulmate.  Your favorite hero, or anti-hero you guess, would be Red Hood AKA Jason Todd.  The BatFam comics were amongst some of your favorites and you devoured fanfics written about Jason.  Silently you wished that he was your soulmate, maybe because it was easier than feeling disappointed time after time when someone else wasn’t your soulmate.
Then the strangest event occurred.  You were walking home one afternoon from your shift and there was a blinding flash of light.  At first, you had thought that maybe there had been some kind of explosion, or maybe you had died somehow and there really was a white light at the end.  Then everything was dark and when you slowly opened your eyes you realized that you weren’t home anymore.
City buildings you didn’t recognize rose around you a police car with the letter GCPD written on the side whizzed by.  Your heart felt like it had lodged itself in your throat and for a moment you thought that you really had died and maybe this was what the afterlife was like.  You took stock of everything around you looking for anything that might give you a clue as to where you were and in the distance, you noticed another tall building.
It was a stereotypical skyscraper but written on it was Wayne Enterprises.  You blinked and let out a startled laugh, “No way.  No, no, no this isn’t real.  This can’t be real.”  The possibilities that you were dreaming flitted through your mind and you scrubbed your hands over your face as if you were trying to wake yourself up.
There was no way you could be in Gotham City.
“Hey, are you all right?”  Those words.  Those damn words.
Turning your head you saw him standing there, the red mask obscuring his face, the bat emblem on his chest.  “Cool Jason Todd cosplay,” you managed to get out before your head began to swim and you began collapsing, the man before you rushing to catch you before your head could connect to the pavement.
“Shit,” he hissed.  Then he hit the button for his comms, “Alfred, I’m bringing someone to the cave… uh, well I’ll explain when I get there.”
“Understood,” came Alfred’s response.
How did you know his name, and why the hell had you thought he was cosplaying himself?  He didn’t have time for that now, and he also resisted the urge to check his arm where those very words were etched into his skin.  Whoever you were, you were his soulmate.  There was no doubting that.
He managed to get you to the cave in one piece and Alfred quickly checked you over and gave the all-clear.  “It was probably shock,” he told Jason.  “You said that they seemed confused, correct?”
Jason had his arms crossed over his chest and nodded, “Yeah, it was strange.  It was like they had no idea where they were and they thought I was cosplaying.”  He unfurled his arms and rolled up his sleep, “Whoever they are, they’re my soulmate.”
Alfred patted Jason’s shoulder, “Let’s wait until they wake up, and then we’ll get answers.”
Bruce and Dick entered the cave and saw you lying on the medical table, Jason standing over you looking pensive.  “Jason what is this?”  Bruce asked as he stepped closer to him and the stranger.
“They’re my soulmate,” Jason said calmly, his eyes still locked onto you, his mind racing.  “Found them looking lost and confused tonight, and right before they passed out they said the magic words.”
Bruce’s eyes shifted from Jason to you, “Are they all right now?”
“Alfred said that it was probably just shock,” Jason finally looked at his adoptive father.  “They knew who I was.  Or at least they thought I was cosplaying myself.”
There was a moment of silence, “I got a call from Barry, he said there was some type of disturbance.  A doorway opened between our earth and another, maybe that’s where they’re from.  Maybe there they know who you are.”
“Maybe,” Jason didn’t want to jump to conclusions.  “Anyhow I’ll get the answers we need when they wake.”
Bruce and Dick left him alone after that and he pulled a chair over to wait until you woke.
 It was several hours later and when you woke up you were still in an unfamiliar place.  You would have thought that you would have woken in your bed, proving that it had all been a dream.  But it seemed that your subconscious wasn’t done with you yet.  This time when you opened your eyes you were in a cave and then everything came crashing back down around you.
You were in Gotham.  You had seen Red Hood.  That must mean you were in the-- “Batcave, you’re in the Batcave,” the voice from earlier said, this time it wasn’t obscured by his helmet.  When you glanced to your right you saw him sitting there.  Jason Todd in the flesh.  “You and I need to have a little discussion.  Soulmate to soulmate.”
You let out a ragged breath, “You’re my soulmate?”
He pulled up his sleeve to reveal the words you had spoken to him right before passing out.  “How did you know who I was?  You asked if I was cosplaying Jason Todd specifically, not Red Hood.  How did you know?”
Of course, that would be one of his first questions.  All vigilantes were super secretive with their identities, wanting to protect themselves.  Bruce Wayne was one of the ones that was super protective of his.  “You don’t exist,” you blurted out.  “I don’t know how I got here, but where I’m from you’re a fictional character.”
Jason was quiet for a moment, “All right, let’s say I believe you on that and where you’re from I don’t exist as a living, breathing person.  How did you get here?”
“There was a flash of light,” you explained, wanting desperately for him to trust you.  “The next thing I know I’m standing on the street here in Gotham and you’re coming up to me asking me if I’m okay.  I didn’t expect any of this.  Do you know how I’m here?”
There was a moment of hesitation, “Barry Allen called, do you know who he is?”  You nodded, Barry was the Flash of course you knew that.  “He said there was an anomaly, a doorway from your earth opened and brought you here to mine.”
“So this isn’t some weird dream?  I didn’t die or anything like that?”
He chuckled, “No, there’s a scientific explanation behind it.”  He chewed on the inside of his cheek for a moment, “Do you want to go back to your earth?”
Did you?
I mean you had just found your freaking soulmate.  The person you had been hoping to find since the words had appeared on your arm.  Of course, there was a catch and he belonged to a whole other earth.  And let’s not forget that he happened to be one of your favorite fictional characters of all time.
“Is it okay if I don’t know?”  You asked cautiously.
He nodded, “Yeah, it’s all right.  I know this is a lot to digest.”
You blew out a breath, “This is so not how I saw meeting my soulmate going.”
“It’s not how I saw mine going either,” he offered you a smile.  Then stood and said, “Let me formally introduce myself, I’m Jason Peter Todd, your soulmate.”
“Y/N Y/L/N,” you told him.  “It’s nice to meet you.”
“It’s nice to meet you too, Y/N.”  And you swore you could have melted at the tender way he said your name.
He took you to a room in the manor where you could sleep and Alfred offered to go out and get some clothes for you since you were left wearing what you had at work.  You were grateful for them all and how friendly they were treating you despite the fact that you were a literal stranger.  Jason stayed with you and asked you questions about your earth and what he was like in the comics that you had read about him.
You talked for hours until you fell asleep beside him, your head resting on his shoulder.
You spent weeks in Gotham with Jason, learning all there was to learn about the city and its inhabitants and about your soulmate.  Jason was patient and understanding and never pressured you into telling him if you wanted to go home or not.
“Jay?”  You said one evening as the two of you were lying in bed, he was reading a book and you were on his phone playing some games.  He stopped reading and looked over at you to see what you wanted.  “I want to stay here with you, I don’t want to go home.”
The smile that he gave you nearly made your heart stop, “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” you said quietly, smiling back at him.  “I don’t think I could ever leave you, and it’s not because you’re my favorite character or even my soulmate.  It’s just because I love spending time with you.  I love your family and this city despite its flaws.  And I just want to stay here forever.”
He placed a finger under your chin and tilted your head up slightly, “I would love nothing more than for you to stay with me.”
“Good,” you leaned forward and brushed your lips against his, feeling happiness blooming throughout you at the thought of spending the rest of your life here with Jason.

Stressful Spectres (Sweet Betrayal Part 3)

With hands tightly clasped behind your back, you tensely paced around your office. The Pogtopians were constantly being sighted around the borders of Manberg and it was your job to prevent this. You tried everything; setting up traps, luring mobs around the vicinity, nothing worked. They just kept coming back like pesky cockroaches following pheromones. The only way you’d be able to prevent them from spying into the borders was to rebuild a wall, and Schlatt would turn your idea down the second the word ‘wall’ would leave your mouth. He gave you only two days to completely figure everything out from the last time one of the cowards was spotted running from the borders, and it seems that those two days are nearly up.
“You should take a break, (y/n).” Without looking at him, you kept pacing and ignored him. “Stop ignoring me, you know I don’t like when you do that… Please, take a break. I’m worried about you,” he sounded just like he did from before. You felt your eye twitch.
“...(Y/n), remember what I used to sing to you?” He chuckled, the sound being airy and far off, “‘hey hobo man, hey dapper Dan-’”
“Shut the fuck up!” You grabbed your vase and hurled it blindly in his direction. The glass shattered against the wall and you heard nothing else from the teenager. “I don’t need you anymore.” He had been visiting you for the past week or so, ever since Schlatt found out about you taking your birthday off. You were banned from speaking to the Badlanders and got a few physical punishments that would definitely give you more scars on your arms. It was your fault anyways, you were slacking off during a war when you were one of the leaders of this country.
Your door opened when you were mid pace, making you plaster a strained smile on your face and spin around to narrow your eyes at whomever decided to not knock. You were greeted by a slightly buzzed ram hybrid raising an eyebrow at you. He must’ve just started drinking.
Whenever he was only slightly buzzed or on the very rare chance he was sober, he was the most affectionate with you. It wasn’t much, only small praises and the occasional smile, but by Ender you ate it up like you were a drug addict getting their first hit in months. You craved any type of affection, no matter where it came from or how rarely it came. You were willing to wait for it, even if it was rare.
His amber gaze flicked around the room before it landed on the ceramic shards embedded into the carpet. He jutted his chin towards it, “fuck happen there?”
You ran your hand down your face and massaged your aching cheeks, “nothing. Just thought I saw a rat, but my mind was just playing tricks on me.” His calculating gaze pierced through you like a spear before he narrowed his eyes slightly and nodded. He walked over to the window and looked out at the vast city, hands neatly clasped behind his back. “...Have you come up with a solution to our... problem?”
You sighed angrily and resumed your pacing, “I’ve tried everything. They just dismantle the traps I set up, kill the mobs I lure around it, they even killed the iron golems! The only option here is to put up the walls again.”
“I know you didn’t just say what I thought you fuckin said,” Schlatt hissed out, “there’s no way in hell I’m putting up those walls again.”
“I don’t know what you want me to do then, that’s our only option,” you mumbled under your breath only to freeze when Schlatt stomped up to you. He spun you around and grabbed your shoulders, leaning close to your face. His breath smelled like tobacco and a hint of scotch, “are you questioning my authority?” You shook your head frantically. “Really? Cuz it sure sounds like you’re questioning my authority. You seem to forget that I’m your boss and you will treat me as such. Do you understand me?”
You nodded and he let you go, slightly shoving you off to the side as he walked past you. “I-I’m sorry, Dad.” He paused in your doorway, “don’t call me that. I don’t want to be the father of someone that constantly contradicts me. I’ll be back in an hour, you better have this shit figured out by the time I get back or I swear to Ender I’ll fire your sorry ass. You’re on thin ice, (y/n).” Without a second word he left your office, the sound of his dress shoes clanking against the tile fading down the hallway.
You could feel your heart break inside of your chest and your lungs get deflated by the shards piercing them. He was the last person that actually loved you, and you fucked it up. You always fuck everything up, you supposed that it was an innate part of you. No matter what you did or what you tried, you’re always going to be a fuck up.
No, you can’t just sit here and ponder all of your life’s mistakes; you need to be brainstorming before you lose your connection to the person you loved the most. You paced around your office endlessly murmuring to yourself. You knew he was watching you pace again standing off in the corner, the room felt off like it always did whenever he was there. You ignored him and continued your pacing.
Just as you came up with a solution, your door was opened and Schlatt stepped into your office once more. He was swaying slightly on his feet and his suit jacket was unbuttoned. “You figure something out?”
You put a confident smile on your face, “yes. I think we should send patrols around the border, and I think the Badlanders and Rutabagaville members would fare nicely. We can send them in groups of two and send them once in the morning, afternoon, evening, and night.”
He nodded to himself, satisfied. “That sounds like a decent plan, you’re keeping your job for now. But don’t think I’ll forget about what you said earlier.”
You felt extremely relieved and grinned at him, “yessir. I apologize for that once again, it just-”
“Save it, you’re still on thin fucking ice… Don’t look at me like that, ya smiling freak. Your face is absolutely disgusting.” You dropped your smile and looked at your slightly scarred fingers. Light pink raised scars littered your skin in random amounts along your right arm, leading up your neck, and becoming the most concentrated on the entirety of the right side of your face. You avoided looking in the mirror, mostly out of anger because your appearance was a constant reminder of the stain your ‘brothers’ left on your life. You were still adjusting to having a blind spot in your vision, the eye having lost its sight and now a cloudy white color from the fireworks. Your eyelid on that side was permanently half-lidded, unable to open up fully even if you tried.
You were fully aware that your appearance was… unsightly, to say the least, to everybody that looked at you (yourself included), but Schlatt was one that never cringed away from you. Hell, even Quackity (the mere mention of his name made icy betrayal wash over your entire body) avoided looking at you in the first few weeks of your injury. Schlatt was the one that loved you for who you were, scars and all, and you fucked it up.
He squinted at you, his eyelids blocking everything with the exception of his rectangular pupils. A snort left his lips before he moved to leave you to your own devices. “I’ll inform the others of their new duties, get your paperwork done.”
“Yessir.”
You sat down at your desk chair with a sigh and rubbed at your aching cheeks before you picked up your pen and started on your paperwork. Well, it was yours with the exception of Schlatt’s thrown about occasionally in piles. The room was engulfed into an uncomfortable chill once more, he’s back. You honestly have no idea why he just keeps coming back to you or even if his pale spectre was just a stress induced hallucination. He just showed up in your office one day saying that he’s been looking everywhere for you. He acted and looked exactly like he did before he left, except his attitude was strangely chipper for someone that had an iron pickaxe buried deep within their forehead.
“(Y/n), I’m back!” He sang, floating over to your desk. “Geez, that goat guy is a real jerk isn’t he?” His slightly glowing hand appeared in your vision and tried to pluck the pen out of your grasp. It swiped right through your hand, making you shiver at the uncomfortable feeling. “I’m still not used to that.”
You huffed and focused more on your paperwork. You could feel the chill getting closer, leading up to the point where he was directly behind you. The icy air gusted down your neck with every breath he exhaled. “Whatcha workin on?” He whispered in your ear.
“Nothing that you need to worry about.”
“So they speak! I was worried you went completely mute… Well, you did scream at me before, but I didn’t count that. That’s okay though, I knew I could get you to talk to me sooner or later. I’m irresistible, you remember how I was with the ladies.”
“Fuck off.”
“No need to be so mean to me.” You focused on your paperwork again, furrowing your brows and trying to tune him out. “(Yyyyyyy/nnnnn), you can’t ignore little ole me forever.”
“I can and I will.”
He gasped before laughter streamed from his lips, the sound being muffled since it was on your deaf side. “You just talked to me though! I think that’s a win for me. Do you remember when-”
“I swear to Ender, if another word comes out of your mouth I’ll make sure that the next pickaxe finds its home through your tongue and down your throat.”
He was silent after that, leaving you to your paperwork. At least, that was until someone knocked on your office door. You sighed before plastering a smile on your face, “come in.” Your door opened to reveal the signature white smiley face mask, messy blond hair, and green hoodie.
Dream had been giving you small lessons on your swordsmanship lately, and you were getting better with each passing lesson. You were proficient on defense, so it was time for you to learn how to offensively attack.
You saw that he placed an apple on your desk. You looked up at him in confusion. “What? You haven’t eaten anything all day, I don’t want you passing out or anything during our lesson.”
“Finally! Someone with actual sense around here! It’s so refreshing, isn’t it (y/n)? Well, it’s refreshing for me anyways.”
Dream chuckled, “thank you.”
Wait a damn minute.
Dream could hear him?!
Your pen froze mid sentence and rested on the paper, it’s ink pooling in one place. You slowly looked up at Dream, “you can hear him?” He looked at the teenager behind you before looking back at you, his head tilting. “Of course I can. He’s right there.”
“Yeah (y/n), I’m right here. My name’s Lucius by the way, it’s nice to meet you!” He floated over to Dream and held out his hand, the pickaxe handle almost hitting the taller male in the chest. Dream stepped back slightly and nodded, “Dream. Eat that apple fast, we don’t have all day.” You snapped out of your stupor and grabbed the apple, taking absentminded bites while staring at your dead best friend talking animatedly to the masked man.
So he was real after all. You were worried something might have actually been wrong with you for a moment! It was nice to know that you weren’t completely insane.
“...meet (y/n)?”
“Oh, I’m training them at the moment, would you like to watch?”
“Yes! That sounds exciting, doesn’t it (y/n)?” The two looked at you expectantly, Dream’s head tilting slightly and Lucius smiling widely at you. You swallowed your bite and nodded, throwing the apple core into your trash bin. “...Yeah. Yeah it does. Uh, I’m going to get changed and then we can start our session.”
After you got changed, you met with the two outside your door and walked out of the White House to the training grounds. The entire time you were walking, you couldn’t tear your eyes away from Lucius. Every time he would turn his head, the pickaxe would move with it. The crusted blood that emanated from the wound and splattered down his pale face was perhaps the darkest color on him with the exception of his jet black hair.
In a strange way, it wasn’t the blood or the pickaxe protruding from his head that disturbed you the most; it was his eyes. Of course they still crinkled at the edges when he smiled, but it just wasn’t the same. The black eyes that were once so full of life were a dull gray with milky pupils.
Other than the obvious pickaxe, blood, dead eyes, and constant glowing, he looked exactly like he did before he died. His baggy sweater, albeit mudstained and wrinkled, was still a salmon color with its signature pinstripes. The mop of straight black hair was still pulled into a bun with multiple unruly strands escaping the elastic and framing his face.
Before you knew it, a pale hand was waving in your face. “Earth to (y/n)! Oh good, you’re back to the land of the living! What’s wrong? You look like you’ve just seen a ghost. Well, I mean you were just staring at me, but my point still stands.”
You moved your gaze to the dirt path, “it’s nothing, I’ll tell you later.” He huffed, but didn’t say anything else to you for the rest of the trip. Instead, he was making small comments on your surroundings.
Eventually, you were across from Dream on the training arena holding a wooden sword in front of you defensively. Lucius was sitting in the grass a little ways away from the painted boundaries with one foot over the other and his elbows resting on his knees propping his chin up. He was watching with an intensity he always had whenever you were doing something he deemed ‘dangerous’. To be fair, sparring with the most skilled member on the server was fairly dangerous.
“Let’s see if you remember what I taught you last time.” Without giving you a warning, he charged at you with his own wooden sword raised. Your sword clashed with his and you pushed against him. The mask moved upwards on his face slightly, “good, but always expect the unexpected.”
With a simple sweep of his foot, you were on the ground gasping for air. You could faintly hear Lucius suck in air between his teeth before he shouted “you’re doing great, sweetie, but do better!”
Thanks, Lucius. Very motivating.
You rolled away from Dream’s foot before he could pin you to the floor. Your mind flashed back to when Techno- no. None of that, you need to focus. You got back onto your feet in the blink of an eye and dodged another blow. You used his momentum against him, stepping away at the right moment sending him skidding to a stop.
Before long, he had you on the floor again with the tip of the sword pressing into your chest. He relaxed before helping you up, “you did better than I thought you would, but there were still some obvious flaws in what you did. Using my momentum against me was smart, but with what you did the opponent would recover fast. Here, let me show you how to properly do that.”
You improved on a few things defensively and learned a few things offensively before the sun started to set and cast shadows on the surrounding forest. Dream shook your hand, “nice work today, you’re gonna rival even the best eventually.”
“You were great, (y/n)! I didn’t know you had it in you!” I didn’t have it in me when you were alive, you mentally corrected him. “Thanks, Lucius.” You glanced at him only to be met with his body phasing through yours in an attempted hug. He fell to the ground and rolled over, crossing his arms over his chest, “I’ll never get used to that.”
Dream snorted before he shoved his hands into his pockets and started to nonchalantly walk back towards the White House. You and Lucius looked at each other before you ran to catch up with him. Lucius floated next to you, examining the dirt on your exposed arms and the forming bruises on your calves. He wrinkled his nose, “you really need a shower.”
“Well I can’t exactly strip now and find a shower in the woods, can I Lucius?”
“You just reek.”
“Yeah, you kinda do.”
“Thanks Lucius, Dream. Really feeling the love.”

Temptation Sings
Pairing: Ryūnosuke Tanaka x Reader
Word Count: 3k
Warnings: Smut, fluff, senpai kink, p*rn watching, implied bisexual reader, excessive use of the word "babe" & some curse words
A/N: The senpai kink is sort of one-sided, but what kink isn't 💀 and the title is sort of based off a lyric from Super Freak by Rick James. Also, those are actual lines from a Hentai, but I fucking lost it half way through so I had to improvise. Anyway, this is over 3,000 words of straight dog water. Enjoy!
Synopsis: You ride Tanaka while watching hentai
Tumblr media
"What kind of porn do you watch?"
"What?" Tanaka let out a quick bark of laughter before staring at you with wide eyes. His hand was frozen over the bowl of popcorn as he turned his full attention to you. The two of you had been dating for over a year now, yet, you've never had sex.
Sure, there had been some over the clothes stuff before. Some tops off heavy petting, some groping while making out, but it had never progressed past that. Not for a lack of trying, of course. Anytime you could find time to hang out alone, something would always interrupt you.
You weren't a virgin, but you didn't have much experience, so, naturally, you were more than a little nervous. And Tanaka, bless his soul, was pretty understanding. As long as you two could still make out and he could grab your ass, he seemed fine. But, he's still a teenage boy, no matter how respectful. He could only handle being blue balled so many times. And you wholeheartedly felt the same way.
This seemed like the best way to go about it. Establishing a common interest in what you both liked to get the ball rolling.
"Porn. I know you watch it, Ryuu. So...what kind?" You sat up on your side of the bed and leaned against the headboard, knowingly making him eye level with your breast. Nothing wrong with a little incentive.
"Okay, wow. You're serious. Um," he stuttered, eyes flickering over your chest and back to your eyes, before a blush settled flooded his cheeks, "You're just gonna laugh." He moved his gaze over to the movie playing on the laptop, avoiding eye contact. Was he embarrassed? He should know by now that you didn't judge.
You wouldn't be dating him if you did.
"I promise I won't laugh, baby. Look, I'll go first," you moved the bowl of popcorn off his lap and grabbed his hands to pull him up, "Pay attention."
"Wha–"
"There's Amateur, Lesbian," you ignored his questioning look and kept going, "Creampie, Fingering, Solo male and female, Public, and Taboo. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. You like any of that?"
He stared at you slack-jawed. Had you been too forward? You thought if you were honest about it, you both could be comfortable with each other. You watched in anticipation as he moved his gaze from you to the ceiling.
"Thank you, God," he whispered, almost on the verge of tears, "I must truly be blessed."
"Are you serious, Ryuu," you scoffed, hitting his arm to hide how relieved you really were, "You made me anxious for nothing!"
"That is so hot, babe," he grinned excitedly, moving to sit on his knees with his legs folded under him, "All that stuff sounds cool, and we're definitely gonna come back to that lesbian thing later, but I usually just watch...Hentai." He cleared his throat, scratching his cropped hair.
You pulled the laptop over to you and paused the movie playing. Pulling up the browser, you typed "Hentai" in the search bar, and hesitated for a second.
Hentai. Of course, it was hentai. You weren't surprised in the least that he got off to cartoon characters fucking. In fact, you expected it. You knew what you were getting into when you agreed to date him. You briefly wondered what kind he watched before it hit you.
Oh, yeah, you thought, he'd like that.
"What are you doing, babe?" He questioned. You paid his nervous laughter no mind as you queued up the perfect video. You were a genius.
_
"Are you okay with this, Kasuri?"
"I've been telling you that it's okay!"
You watched as the small girl pushed the boy on the ground and climbed on his hips to straddle him backward. To your complete surprise, you were actually kind of invested in the plot. Sure, some of the lines made you cringe and the ethics behind the sister trying to fuck her brother were a bit iffy, but, somehow, it was keeping you entertained.
The less than spectacular writing didn't seem to be affecting Ryuu any. With how much he jerked off to this kind of stuff, you figured he was probably used to it.
"I want you to take it...take me Senpai."
You felt Tanaka stiffen up beside you before quickly relaxing. Well, more like you felt him force himself to relax. You watched out of the corner of your eye as he subtly, or as subtle as Tanaka could be, adjusted himself in his sweats.
He was trying very hard to hide how much the video was affecting him; however, you always found Tanaka easy to read. The furrow of his brows, the twitch of his muscles, the restless tapping of his fingers along his thigh—all of it was effortlessly understood like the words of a well-loved book.
He was holding himself back for some reason that you couldn't find the effort in yourself to figure out, but he wasn't the only one affected.
"You have to tell me what you like. You have to teach me, senpai."
There was that stiffening again.
You placed your hand high on his tense thigh, completely ignoring the eyes burning into the side of your face. Unlike Ryuu, you were a fantastic actor. You decided you would wait for him to fully relax, or be as relaxed as any teenage boy could be while watching porn before you would strike.
You waited for the moment his leg softened under your hand and oddly enough it was at the point in the video where they showed a very detailed shot of the boy coming inside of the girl. He probably thought it was ending soon. Little did he know you were going in for the kill.
You cuddled further under his arm before you looked up at him with imploring eyes.
"Do you wanna do that...with me, senpai?"
It was just like any other kink, you rationalized. It was on par with the guys who were into being called 'Daddy' or 'Sir' or some other title. It didn't do anything for you, but if your magnificent hunk of a boyfriend got turned on by being called senpai, you were more than happy to go along with it.
"Well?" You prompted when he said nothing and gawked at you like a test he didn't study for.
"What did you call—is this—are we actually about to—" His wide eyes switched between you and the computer screen before deciding you were far more entertaining.
Instead of answering his stammering, you rose to your knees to pull the sundress over your head. You unhooked your bra and threw it off the bed with no regard for where it landed. It was a shame it wasn't one of your cuter ones, but you doubted Ryuu cared.
Your hands paused on the waistband of your panties when you realized he was frozen beside you, eyes flickering over your body like he didn't know where he should look.
"Am I gonna be the only one naked?" You would have thought he was on the court with how fast he jumped off the bed.
You watched from his bed as he struggled to get out of his clothes. It was adorable how excited he was, but he wasn't the only one. You've been waiting nearly thirteen months for this and you were practically vibrating out of your skin.
You were content to watch him almost bust his ass as he tried to get his sweats off when you remembered something.
"We don't need a condom. I'm on birth control." You started birth control years ago to handle your irregular periods, but it also came with the added benefit of Ryuu being able to cream you like a Twinkie.
He stared at you for a second with a blank face before closing his eyes with his hands clasped together...almost like he was praying? You heard him whisper something suspiciously along the lines of him being blessed before he practically bounded up to you like a hyper puppy
Probably not the best analogy to be made in your current situation, but it was true! He was bouncing on the balls of his feet and shaking his hands out like he always did before a match. You briefly wondered if he ever did this before. He never told you if he got this far with any of his exes and you never asked.
At that moment, you decided it didn't matter what he did before because you would be the best he ever had.
Your hands shot forward to pull his underwear down before pausing.
"Is... Is this okay?" You asked, hands hovering over his boxer briefs. For the first time during the entire affair, you were hesitant. What if you were pushing too fast? You hadn't exactly asked anything. You just gave out demands and he followed. You wouldn't be able to live with yourself if you ended up pressuring him into this.
"I—," he stopped, staring down at you with wide eyes and for a split second, your heart stopped, "Are you kidding, babe? God, yes, it's okay!"
You honest to God giggled when you pulled him onto the bed with you and clamored onto his lap, like the stereotypical school girl. You calmed yourself down enough to just look at him. The way he gazed at you with a year's worth of pent-up desire made slick dampen the seat of your panties.
"You're just—you're beautiful. God, I love you so so much," the sincerity in his voice was amplified by the goofy grin he gazed up at you with and the blush on the apples of his tan cheeks, "you know that, right?"
One look at Ryuu and even a blind man could see how much he loved you. It was a good thing his feelings were mutual or it'd be pretty embarrassing.
"I love you too, idiot," your hand settled on the back of his close-cropped head to pull him into a kiss. And in typical Tanaka fashion, he kissed you like you were the only thing keeping him alive. He kissed like his only goal was to leave you as breathless as you made him. And he always succeeded.
"Now," you took a deep breath, "are you gonna fuck me, senpai?"
The groan he let out against your lips was more than enough of an answer for you.
You rushed to pull your panties off, thanking whoever was watching over you that it wasn't one with holes or bleach stains on it.
You reached to pull him out of his boxers, but he beat you to it. It gave you pause how he whipped it out like it was nothing to gawk at.
A little over half the length of your forearm, his dick was nothing to scoff at. He was the same width as your wrist with a thick vein running up the underside of his shaft.
Not the first dick you've seen but by far the biggest. Your heart rate picked up as you thought of the logistics of how he'd even fit inside you. You'd probably have trouble with just the tip.
You pulled the foreskin back to see precum already collecting at the angry red head. He jerked when you took the heavy weight of his dick into your hand and you could barely wrap your fingers around him. You didn't think he'd be so sensitive but you called yourself thankful for it. Easier to tease.
You rubbed his tip against the opening of your pussy and pulled away, strings of slick still connecting you. You repeated the action a few times before taking pity on your poor boyfriend. You used his quiet moans as motivation as you pushed his head past your tight hole.
You hissed at the unexpected stretch. The burn veering on the side of uncomfortable, but not painful. You couldn't tell if it was because of how long it had been since the last time you had sex with anyone or if it was because of the sheer size of him.
You decided it was the latter as you tried to take more of him.
"Here," you grabbed one of his thumbs and rubbed it over your clit in quick circles. The callused pad pleasurably rough against the slick covered bud. Luckily, he caught on quickly and kept up the pace as you tried to sink further down. The ache in your walls added to the pleasure on your clit.
You sighed once you finally reached the base. You hadn't expected this much effort would go into just taking him.
He was panting hard, eyes closed and struggling to hold still enough to let you adjust.
"Okay," you breathed, "okay." You slowly rose to your knees and peeked at his dick as it came out coated with your slick, before driving yourself back down with a moan. You settled your hands on his shoulders as you picked up a rhythm.
"You're such a badass, babe," he praised and you would have laughed if him shoving himself into you, thrust for thrust, didn't fuck a series of moans out of you.
You peppered quick kisses against his lips as you drove yourself up and down. You ran the tip of your tongue along his bottom lip before nipping at it. He eagerly took the hint and opened his mouth to you. You swallowed his groans as your hand slid up to the front of his neck and squeezed, tongues pressing together in an openmouthed kiss.
When you pulled away, his eyes flickered between your bouncing breasts, where his dick split you open, and your lidded eyes.
"I've dreamed of this for so long," you moaned as his hand resumed its motion on your sensitive clit. How he was able to piece together coherent sentences was beyond you, "Wanted you so bad, baby. So. Bad."
The headboard slammed into the wall as you sped up your pace. You were lucky you two were the only ones in the house.
"That's right, babe. Bounce on Senpai's dick. Fuck," he cursed, voice cracking when you swiveled your hips, "You like that, don't you? My pretty girl." You didn't want to admit it, but the senpai thing was really doing it for you. Not the actual word, but the sheer affect it had on him.
You can't say you were surprised by how talkative he was, his dirty words dripping over your overheating body like rich syrup. If you knew watching porn would lead to this, you would have done it ages ago.
His big hands used his grip on your ass to rock you back and forth at a faster pace. You relaxed your legs and let him take the lead, pulling his head towards your chest. The animated girl's moans on the computer combined with Tanaka's and created a harmony that pushed you closer to your release.
You moaned freely into his neck as the change of positions dragged your swollen clit over his pelvis with every buck of your hips. Sweaty bodies pushing and pulling against each other in a motion that was more grinding than riding.
Wet and sticky slaps echoed around the room, punctuated by the meat of your ass meeting his wet thighs. Thighs made wet by your juices collecting at the base of his cock.
Your release bubbled low in your stomach, steadily being pushed higher with every one of Tanaka's sloppy thrusts. It pulled heavily from below your naval, expanding to the point where you felt like you could burst. You weren't a virgin—this wasn't your first time, but, God, it felt like it was. And it might as well be your first time with how sensitive he made you.
You were sweaty and you were sore and so, so completely overwhelmed. But your mind was wonderfully cloudy with the pleasurable haze of an incoming orgasm and it made it hard to care.
"You close, babe?" You whimpered out a weak yes as his lips trailed from your jawline down to your damp neck before sucking on the skin.
"Can feel you squeezing me. So damn tight." He panted against your heaving breasts.
You knew it was coming, but knowing and feeling were too different things. Your thighs burned with fatigue, but you couldn't stop. You were so close and the humid air blurred out everything that wasn't Ryuu's cock plunging against that spongy patch on your wall and you didn't want it to end.
He couldn't take his eyes off of you as you used him for your pleasure. Head thrown back and skin gleaming with sweat.
"Shit, I'm-" he grunted at the tightening grip your walls had on him, just begging him to cum, "Fuck, 'M not gonna last, babe." His hips twitched uncontrollably as he rammed into you.
The knot in your stomach built and built before suddenly loosening, your vision blanking completely. Not that you could tell with how far back your eyes rolled. Hands shooting forward to desperately cling onto him as you trembled. Nails digging into his tense biceps, a mantra of his name falling from your lips like a prayer. Your thighs shook as you rode yourself past the sensitivity.
And that's what does it for him, your impossibly tight heat clamping down on him. Tender balls pulled taut against his body as the white ring of cum coating his cock grew with every one of your thrusts down.
The only sound that escaped him was your name broken by his breathy moans.
Once you came back around, you're still dazed with cooling sweat gathering on both of your bodies. The air is still clammy and you were sore from your neck to your thighs but it didn't stop you from looping your arms around Ryuu's neck.
He gathered you into his warm chest, heavy arms locked around your waist.
"So," he huffed, "lesbian porn, huh?"
"Shut up, Ryuu."

Stuck with You
Words: 5.5k
Summary: A winter storm strands a desperate-to-return-to-Chicago Ian at the airport with no car. A dark-haired mysterious man in an expensive-looking leather jacket and sunglasses seems to be his only hope. Ian grows suspicious of the man's true intentions as they embark on their road trip with some funky excursions. The two men find what need they most in each other.
Tumblr media
"Fiona, I'm literally at the gate. I'm about to board now!" Ian was lying straight out of his ass as he was running through the bustling airport, dragging his bag as fast as the bent-as-all-hell wheels on the suitcase would allow him. He had not, in fact, woken up to his first alarm... or second. Maybe he was running extremely late despite Fiona's near-constant nagging to get there early in case something happens again.
Ian mumbled a quiet "Fuck" as his suitcase's wheel locked up again. He did not have time for this. His huffed cursing was apparently heard by Fiona's supersonic hearing. A woman in white capris glared his way. Okay, maybe it wasn't that quiet.
"Ian!" Fiona's voice rang through his phone. She sounded frantic and exhausted. She had every right to be, but Ian was not in the mood for an early morning guilt trip. "What happened? And you better stop fuckin' lying to me and get your ass-"
"Fi, I gotta go, love you, talk to you later, promise," he mumbled all the formalities as genuinely as he could muster before he hung up. He had tuned his attention into his surroundings and noticed an absurd about of people hovered around the rent-a-car station while the airport gates nearly empty, except for the occasional airport employees trying to reason with irritated passengers.
Sure enough, something did happen, as Fiona would have happily predicted. There was a massive winter storm and all flights had been delayed until further notice. Ian idly walked to his gate just to make sure he wasn't going to miss his plane like he had the day before. The gate was a fuckin' ghost town besides one man in an expensive-looking studded leather jacket and shiny dark hair to match. His eyes were hidden behind a pair of purple sunglasses, despite the fact that they were currently indoors.
Ian instinctively stepped closer to the man to maybe strike up a conversation. It wasn't something he was so fond of doing, but if he was trapped at an airport, he might as well make friends. Anything to distract his anxious thoughts about not making it back to Chicago in time for his interview. He couldn't even look at his phone, knowing Fiona was probably blowing it up right now about how he has to get his shit together. He knows.
In the midst of his inner debate, Ian oh-so-gracefully tripped over a chair -- the wheels of his suitcase coming to a halt, causing the bag to loudly clang against a nearby pole.
The man jumped up with a startle, yanking off his glasses and swiftly reaching into his boot and pulling out a small knife. He slowly took in the fact that there was no threat -- just a giant blushing ginger wincing at the knife pointed his direction.
The man sighed and tucked his knife away, "Shit, I thought you were trying to rob me or something."
Ian eyed a small black backpack tucked behind the man's legs. That bag was sleek and tiny compared to Ian's nightmare of a bag.
"Ain't look like you got much to steal," Ian joked, immediately regretting his decision to be witty after literally just being held at knifepoint. Maybe the mysterious man would appreciate his charm.
The man frowned. Okay, maybe Ian's humor wasn't for everyone.
"And how did you get that knife through security?" Ian asked in attempt to ease the tension a bit.
"None of your damn business." The man retorted shortly, but his eyes lingered over Ian for a moment longer, amused.
"Right." Ian replied after a moment. That was fair. He was a stranger, after all. But there was something about this man that was so intriguing. The man stood nearly half a foot shorter than Ian and clearly had the personality to make up for it. Ian was most definitely not in the mood to almost get stabbed again so he decided to lay off the talking, making an obvious show of adverting his gaze from the gorgeous leather-clad man in front of him.
"Uh.. hey," the man spoke up again as he looked around the terminal. "Did I miss the flight or did everyone just get abducted by aliens or some shit?"
Ian was amused at the aliens bit. Who even was this guy?
"It looks like all flights are delayed. Some freak super-storm coming in, don't want any crashes or anything."
"Buncha pussies," the dark-haired man grumbled as he stood up.
"Where are you going?" Shut up, Ian, shut up shut up shut up.
"Rent-a-car? Is that okay with you?" The guy pulled his bag over his shoulder, but turned his gaze back to Ian.
"Uh, yeah, I mean -- sorry, never mind." Nice going, Ian.
"I'm just busting your balls, man. Just gotta get back to Chicago before the weekend. Can't just sit around like a little bitch and wait for a storm to pass like some people." The enigmatic man teased him.
Ian rolled his eyes, but followed him like a lost puppy. "You're not the only one. I have an interview in Chicago in two days and I really can't miss it." Ian pointed back towards the rent-a-car area when the man didn't question him any further. "Don't think you'll have much luck with that, by the way. They looked almost sold outta cars when I walked past here earlier."
"So you walked past the rent-a-car instead of actually getting one? Real smart, Stumbles."
Ian cringed at the nickname. So much for first impressions. The man pulled out his phone from the tight pocket of his pants and stopped abruptly, Ian almost losing his balance to keep from stumbling into the guy. Again. Ian was literally swept up off his feet by this dude. He had to get himself in control before he lost what remained of his dignity.
"Ey' Dimitri, I need a car." The guy said into the phone. Ian awkwardly waited around. It wasn't like they made any plans of travelling together but they were in the middle of a conversation, he couldn't just leave. It wouldn't be polite. Not that much about this guy was polite to begin with. But they had something going at least. The phone conversation got heated very quickly. Now Ian could very clearly see why he was the type of person to have a knife in arm's reach at any given notice.
"I know you have fuckin' plenty. I'll drop it off next time I see Yevgeny, you know I'm good for it. I gotta job this weekend- It is your fuckin' business when your bitch of a wife- Oh c'mon, you can admit she's a bit of a bitch. Whatever- Or do you wanna tell Svetlana that your incompetent ass is the reason why she ain't getting her payment- or do you plan on paying for that shit? Didn't think so. Black cat. Red one."
There was definitely a lot to unpack and as curious as Ian was, he was definitely not gonna ask... yet.
"Red, you comin'?" The dark-haired man called over his shoulder as he started heading towards the airport's exit.
"Me?" Way to play it cool, Ian.
"No. The other giant ginger standing behind you. Yes, you."
"My name's Ian, by the way."
"Don't care."
"Where are we going?"
"Chicago."
--
Together but not together, they waited for... Dimitri, maybe? The shorter man beside Ian was tapping around on his phone and hadn't said a word about their plans beyond the simple 'Chicago.'
Right as Ian got the nerve to ask, a sleek black jaguar came to a halt on the street in front of them. Ian only knew a bit about cars because his brother liked fixing them up -- and man, was this a sick car. Lip would be jealous. Ian fought the urge to take a photo of the car -- unsure what the boundaries were in situations like this.
Ian's mystery man sauntered over to the driver's seat, exchanging a loaded handshake before switching places with the driver, who was apparently not Dimitri.
The passenger side window rolled down, revealing a bright red interior. "Coming, princess?"
Ian placed his suitcase in the backseat before hopping in the front himself.
"Do I ever get to know your name, princess?" Ian teased back. But he was genuinely curious.
The guy smirked, "Buckle up. I ain't slowing down for anything." And true to his word, they sped out of the parking lot, earning a few well-deserved horns from cars that they had cut off. Ian cringed.
--
Ian waited until they were on the interstate to speak again, not wanting to be the cause for an accident with this guy's hectic driving and the snow lightly falling on the road in front of them. Maybe he shouldn't be getting into cars with mysterious strangers. Maybe he should have thought of that before he did, in fact, get into a car with a mysterious stranger.
Ian decided to try again, "Ya know, if you don't tell me your name, I'm just going to start calling you something real stupid, like Bob or Cookie or Raven."
"Raven is actually kinda badass." The man replied, not taking his eyes off the road, but the side of his mouth quirking upward.
This guy was impossible, "Ugh."
"Ya know, you're kind of annoying for a passenger who should be grateful that I'm saving your ass. I could dump you on the side of the road, make you hitch hike all the way to Chicago or wherever the hell you end up. Probably some real weirdos out there wanting to pick up a pretty boy like you."
"Didn't ask to be saved." Ian blushed despite his best efforts to play it cool.
"No? So you were just following me all around the airport, why?" He glanced at Ian this time.
Yeah, he had a point. "Like I said, I got an interview I can't miss. My sister set it up for me and she would actually have my ass if I fucked this up. I'm talking like this-is-the-final-straw." Ian sighed, running his hands up and down his face.
"Hmm. You'll make it. I'm a good driver." He smirked. He lifted his hand off the wheel as if he were about to touch Ian's shoulder or something, but decided against it at the last second.
"Good and fast are not equivalent." Ian's breath hitched.
"Says you." The guy drummed his fingers.
"Says most people. And probably the cops." Ian was not about to spend a night in the slammer.
"Fuck the cops." He said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Yeah."
The conversation died down and a rock ballad lulled over the car's exquisite sound system. Damn, this was a nice car.
"Mickey." The guy murmured, barely audible over the bass.
"What?" Like the mouse?
"My name's Mickey, by the way." He glanced over at Ian.
Oh. "Kinda badass." Ian returned with eye contact a smirk.
Mickey smiled at the road ahead of them.
--
"Mornin', Sleeping Beauty." Mickey called out from the driver's seat, patting Ian's shoulder. Ian could have sworn Mickey's hand lingered a bit longer than necessary, but maybe he was just reading into the interaction.
Ian must have fallen asleep sometime during the drive, because now they were parking in the parking lot of a diner. Red neon lights highlighted the exterior, giving the place a sultry vibe. Odd vibe for an off-the-road diner, but Ian supposed it could be weirder.
Mickey hopped out of the car and shoved his hands into the pocket in his leather jacket, searching for something.
After a moment, Ian slowly stretched his legs out as he crawled out of the car and found Mickey smoking a cigarette while leaning against the hood of the car. It was picture perfect. Mickey hadn't noticed him emerge yet, so Ian decided to give into his urges as he snapped a picture of the beautiful man in front of him -- all black shadows and glowing red.
Ian closed the car door and Mickey stubbed out his cigarette and led them inside. "Usual table," he said to the hostess, who led them to a table set for two towards the back of the establishment.
Yeah, this was weird. Who the fuck had a 'usual table' at a joint off the highway in the middle of nowhere?
Inside hung the heads of exotic animals that Ian hoped were fake. Once they were sat across from each other, Mickey ordered a short stack of pancakes and Ian ordered a hamburger and fries -- the first thing he saw on the menu.
"So, brunch and tigers? What is this place?" Ian mused, curiosity and now suspicion overtaking him.
"Cool, huh? Got connections." Mickey went back to rearranging the condiments and sugars on their table.
"Mhm." Ian was skeptical, but didn't want to pry. He seemed to be on this guy's good side for now.
Ian spent the better part of their stay just taking in everything around them. The walls were lined with playing cards, posters from bands he's never heard of, bizarre news articles, lights swung and tacked up with a casual precision, literal jewelry and crowns under display cases, and he could've sworn there was sparkles mixed into the red paint covering the walls. It was like a goblin's cave or something.
Occasionally, he would look up at Mickey, who would look away almost instantly -- like he'd been caught in the middle of something. Planning something? Ian couldn't tell if Mickey's cheeks were actually blushing red or if it was just the lighting. Probably for the best because Ian blushed like a motherfucker whenever he held Mickey's eyes for too long.
Luckily, the waitress brought over their food before Ian could say something stupid. Ian's hamburger and fries were places in a classic red boat with black and white checkered paper. The burger was massive and had a flamingo pick placed in the center of it. Mickey's pancakes were covered in bananas, blueberries, and powdered sugar. The waitress also set down a glass elephant bottle filled with, what looked like, maple syrup. The waitress just smiled at them and walked away without another word. This place was strange. And Ian couldn't shake that feeling.
About halfway through eating, Ian had enough of the odd vibes and promptly excused himself to go to the bathroom. He had to get out of here, forgo his luggage in the fancy ass car. He didn't care if he'd have to hitch hike at this point. He washed his hands in the bathroom sink, planning when to make his escape, when the door swung open.
"Ian." Mickey looked genuinely concerned. No stupid nickname. Ian. "What's wrong, man? You looked pretty sick back there. Is it food poisoning? I'll give Anakin a fuckin' piece of my mind if he didn't cook that fuckin' burger. He knows better than to fuck with me." He rattled off.
Ian felt flighty and tried to take off during Mickey's rage-induced ramble but an arm gripped his bicep, stopping him in his tracks.
"Hey, Ian, look at me." That was the problem. Ian couldn't stop looking at him. He would probably do anything he asked. And that was fucking dangerous. He was a stranger with connections. That couldn't lead to anything good.
Ian finally made eye contact and the grip on his arm loosened, gently sliding towards his wrist before falling back to Mickey's side.
"Promise me you won't kill me." Ian blurted out.
Mickey's eyebrows nearly flew off his face, "Kill you? Where the fuck is this coming from? You think I hate you or something?"
"Well, maybe, I don't know. This is weird."
"Maybe." Mickey paused, actually making an effort to see this whole strange situation from Ian's perspective. "But I like weird."
Ian stayed silent.
"I promise I'm not going to kill you. I promise that I'm going to get you back to Chicago for your interview. I promise we're all good, okay?"
The tension in Ian's shoulder's visibly relaxed and he released a breath he didn't know he had been holding. But that confession still doesn't explain this weird excursion.
"Why does everyone here know you?" Ian finally asked, swallowing his nerves.
This was not a conversation for the men's bathroom, but here they were anyways.
Mickey looked a bit embarrassed. "Used to live a few towns over with my ex-wife-"
"Ex-wife?" Ian nearly choked.
"Svetlana. Fuckin' disaster. But I used to come here with my son, Yev, on special occasions when his mom was out. He always loved it -- thought he was the king or some shit."
"Oh."
"Don't see the kid as much anymore, but this place still has the best fuckin' pancakes so we go when we can."
"So this isn't a sting operation to kidnap me?"
Mickey rolled his eyes, "You're an idiot. I actually happen to like you."
"Yeah, me too."
"So glad you like yourself, champ."
"Oh, fuck me." Ian groaned.
"Maybe later." Mickey smiled too sweetly for someone who had just insinuated what they had.
They returned to their table, finishing off what they could. Mickey had insisted he pay for both of their meals -- reparation for nearly giving Ian a heart attack and fleeing off to fucking Mexico or something. The waitress collected their tab and walked away with a wink, "Have fun tonight, boys."
"See ya 'round, Geneva." Mickey called, "Always in my fuckin' business." But Ian could tell it was meant with nothing but fondness.
Mickey held gave a two finger salute to the hostess on his way out before holding the lion-studded doors and turning to face Ian, "We're in this together, yeah?"
"Yeah."
--
Ian didn't fall asleep in the car this time. Instead, they played the license plate game and carried impersonal conversation in between stops at gas stations and fast food restaurants.
--
"Books or movies?" Ian read from his phone.
"What kind of fuckin' question is that?"
"From the online list you made me look up!"
"Yeah, because you suck at coming up with questions!"
"Whatever. Books or movies?"
"Movies, duh."
"Aw, c'mon, you don't like books? When was the last time you even read a book?"
Mickey flipped him off, "What about you, smartass? You prefer books over movies?"
"Well, no..."
"Well, exactly."
--
"Cats or dogs?" Ian asked. "I've never had either, but dogs are cool."
"Yeah, 'cause you act like one."
Ian gasped, mocking an expression of hurt. "I bet you're a dog person, though."
"Yeah, why're you so sure about that?"
"They're all tough and shit."
"I got a cat back home. She's tougher than any dog I know."
"What's her name?"
"Indy."
"Aw, softy."
"It's short for Indica, clearly we're cool."
Ian gave an even more exaggerated "Aww."
"Shut up, next question."
--
They had missed the worst of the winter storm that had threatened their flight and gotten them in this situation to begin with. It was starting to get dark and while Mickey assured Ian that he could drive through the night, Ian insisted they could stop at a hotel and still make it back before his interview. Truthfully, he didn't want to be involved in a luxury car crash with a maybe Russian mobster. He couldn't pinpoint Mickey, but that's what he had currently decided on.
They had pulled off into the lot of a pink hotel. Mickey had gotten them two rooms, side-by-side. Instead of going up to his room and passing out like Ian had expected, Mickey headed straight towards the hotel bar -- ordering a mojito and a vodka tonic and making friendly talk with the waitress in a very low cut red shirt like they were old friends. Mickey was nothing like Ian expected.
Ian headed up to his room to drop off his suitcase and call Fiona back, sure she was going to disown him right then and there for avoiding her calls all day.
--
Ian opted against going down to the bar and instead watched reruns on the hotel tv. Alcohol didn't really mix well with his meds and he didn't want a hangover if they were going to be in a car all day tomorrow -- especially a nice car like that. Yeah, he wasn't puking in that anytime soon if he could help it.
He took a long, hot shower, indulging in the hotel's eucalyptus-scented body wash before settling in for the night.
Ian was resting peacefully until he heard a blood-curdling scream next door. Mickey was next door. Mickey.
Ian leapt out of bed, grabbing nothing but his shirt before frantically knocking on Mickey's door. C'mon Mickey, don't be dead. C'mon. C'mon.
Mickey swung open the door rubbing sleep from his eyes, "Ian?"
"Uh, hi. I heard screaming. Just making sure you're not being murdered."
"Shit, yeah. I get night terrors sometimes. I meant to mention that to you, but it must have slipped my mind after a few drinks. Didn't see you down there?"
"I called it an early night," Ian replied guiltily. He felt bad if Mickey was waiting for him. But he didn't know.
"Yeah... anything else?" Mickey looked Ian up and down. Ian was suddenly hyper aware he was standing in front of Mickey in only his boxers.
"Um, no." Ian glanced around nervously.
"Great." Mickey shut the door. Whatever. Ian turned to open his door, but it wouldn't open. He searched his pants for the key card only to be reminded that he was not, in fact, wearing pants. Fucking great indeed.
Ian knocked on Mickey's door again.
"What?" He grumbled with a tooth pick between his teeth. "'m not fuckin' screamin' anymore."
"I locked myself out."
"Of course you did." Mickey rubbed a hand down his face, "You ain't goin' down to the front desk in your underwear and I'm not goin' down there either so it looks like you can either come with me or sleep in the hallway, your choice."
Some choice.
Ian followed Mickey into his room, the same layout as Ian's -- just mirrored. Mickey tossed a blanket at him and then collapsed back into the pillows himself.
Ian tried to make himself comfortable on the ground but all he was going to do was bruise his fuckin' spine and freeze his ass off because apparently Mickey likes to sleep in Antarctica.
"Fuckin' cold." Ian mumbled, cocooned in his one tiny hotel-grade blanket that hardly covered his long body.
Mickey didn't open his eyes, but he lifted the comforter on the bed, "Get in here, Frosty."
Ian hesitated. But he was really fucking cold. He made sure not to touch Mickey at all as he crawled under the covers, laying as still as he could on the edge of the mattress. Mickey sighed and scooted his back into Ian's chest, grabbed Ian's arm, and draped it around his waist. "There."
Ian was still for a moment before settling into the warmth.
"Mickey." He said softly. He wasn't even sure if Mickey had heard him.
"What?"
"Is that your real name? Mickey?"
Mickey sighed, "Mikhailo."
"Hmm. I like Mikhailo. It's like Mick-halo, like you're an angel."
"Baby, you've met me. There ain't nothing good about me. I'm more like the devil."
"Why's that?"
"Dude, I almost knifed you when we first met."
"I had that coming, though."
"Maybe so."
"Is that all?"
"Fuckin' terrorized my neighborhood as a kid."
"Me too, you ain't special. Got anything else?"
"I'm a raging homo."
Ian rolled his eyes. "Me too. Anything else?"
"Can't do enough for my own kid."
Ian was quiet so Mickey continued.
"Svet won't keep him in Chicago where my job is. I don't wanna be the asshole to choose work over my kid, but I can't just up and leave, either."
"Yeah, but it sounds like you visit him a lot. He must know you love him, though. Bet you're a better father than mine."
"Yeah, mine too. Ain't hard to beat. He's a real dick. I don't wanna be anything like that piece of shit."
Ian squeezing his grip around Mickey's waist. "You're not. I'm still betting you're all things good."
"Hmm."
"Guess we'll just have to see."
"Guess so."
A moment passed before Mickey spoke again.
"Go to sleep, stupid."
"Goodnight, Mick-halo."
Ian nestled his head into Mickey's hair, smelling the eucalyptus on his as well. The two not-strangers drifted off together.
--
Ian woke up after Mickey, who was already packing up his oddly tiny back pack again. And Ian's suitcase. He took a moment to recall last night's events.
"How the fuck did you get that?"
"Morning to you, too." Mickey tossed a prepacked muffin at Ian's half asleep body. "Went to the front desk for a spare key after continental breakfast, duh. Eat up, we're leaving in 10."
Ian groaned and pulled the covers over his head. He felt a weight on the mattress beside him. He peeked from behind the blanket to see that Mickey had sat down and was currently staring at his legs? Ass? Who knew. Turns out 'thighs' was the correct answer as he set his hand on the outer part of Ian's right thigh. Just resting it there for a moment before getting up.
"Fine, we're leaving in 15."
Satisfied, Ian closed his eyes for a few minutes, feeling the ghost of Mickey on his leg. He was so warm. It was like his heart was on fire.
--
They ended up leaving 10 minutes after Mickey's initial 15 were up. But it wasn't Ian's fault that there was a hold-up at the front desk. Something about a scheduling conflict between a drag show and a speech contest. Hell, Mickey thought they should combine the two events and call it a day.
Back in the car, Mickey had some upbeat indie music playing this morning while they circled around the old town to find a gas station.
"Ya want anything?" Mickey asked before he turned away from the pump and towards the building, patting down his ass to make sure he had his wallet.
Ian was distracted by the patting for a moment before replying. "Uh, maybe a Gatorade or something?"
Mickey tapped the hood of the car twice instead of replying verbally, but the message was received nonetheless.
Ian pulled up the picture he had taken yesterday of Mickey in front of the bizarre diner, moments before he thought he was being hunted for sport. It was beautiful. He was beautiful.
After a moment, the driver's side door swung open, "Whatcha lookin' at, Smiles? Texting your girlfriend?" Mickey teased as he closed the gas tank and hopped in with a coffee balancing in one hand and three different flavors of Gatorade in the other.
"Nothing." Damn, Ian. Like that ain't an obvious lie.
"Ain't nothing, lemme see." Mickey took Ian's phone and dropped the Gatorades on his lap.
"Ouch! Well, thanks -- for these -- but give me my phone back!"
"Is that me?"
No sense in lying now. He was literally looking at it. "Uh, yeah. Thought it looked cool."
"That's dope as fuck, man. Send that shit to me, I wanna post it on my Instagram."
Ian certainly hadn't expected that response. But when had Mickey ever been what he expected?
"I don't have your number." And he wasn't asking for his number like some school girl. Mickey had literally requested he send him something. Ian had no idea why he felt so ridiculously nervous.
"Gimme." Mickey made grabby hands for the phone and began to plug in his number before Ian realized that this definitely counted as distracted driving in a very nice car. "Done."
Done.
--
The morning and afternoon went by pretty quickly. Mickey sang along to some pop songs while drumming his hands on the steering wheel. Ian took some photos of the inside of the car, earning some light teasing from Mickey. Shut up, this might be my only time in a car worth more than ten grand.
Ian watched the highway and the grass blurring past his window when he suddenly remembered the small notepad and pen he had swiped from Mickey's hotel room.
Mickey looked pretty distracted, so Ian took it out and began to sketch his profile. The man was too beautiful. He couldn't help himself. With a burst of confidence, he added a note to it before ripping the page out and sticking it in the side pocket of Mickey's back pack. If Mickey saw him, he didn't say anything -- for once -- and Ian was glad for that.
--
They were nearing Illinois state lines, so they had to get into travel specifics. Ian gave him the address to his apartment. Both being Southside, Mickey knew the area well enough that he wouldn't need directions until last minute.
Ian figured now was as good as time as any to ask, "What are you doing in Chicago?"
Mickey made a face like he was thinking about how much he wanted to explain to Ian. "Well, for one, I live there. Second, you've seen my tattoos right?" He held out his knuckles reading FUCK U-UP. Ian nodded and Mickey relaxed one hand back onto the steering wheel before continuing, "Tattoos were a family ritual. I help my brothers on runs when they need it -- those idiots can't plan for shit by themselves. Makes good money though. I also work part-time at this high-end restaurant downtown. Satisfies my sister that I have a legit job. Ain't too bad either. Lotta sketchy shit goes on, though, but they know I'm good to look the other way for a low low price." He grinned.
"Damn, you sure are something," Ian mused.
"Yup yup. What about you hot-shot? What's the whole deal with this interview?"
Ian sighed. "Never finished high school and uh, I have a mood disorder thing so a lot of places won't even consider me. Got fired from my last job for snapping at the dickhead manager --which was well-deserved by the way -- but still stupid. My sister, Fiona, got me this interview with the magazine company she works for -- she thinks I'm so sick like our mother and that if I don't have a job to keep me stable that I'll just fuck off. But the job would be really cool because I've been into photography and shit since like forever. I don't know, it's stupid. But I really just can't stand to let anyone down again, because I am better. They just don't always believe me."
Mickey frowned, and Ian worried he shared too much. But then Mickey rested his hand on Ian's thigh, "Hey, man. That sounds cool. But it's okay to not be okay. Just be honest with me, and I believe you. Promise?"
"Promise."
--
Ian's apartment was in sight before he knew it. It was starting to get dark out, but he would still be able to get a good night's sleep before his interview in the morning. Mickey's car definitely did not belong in his neighborhood. It stood out like a sore thumb. He couldn't stay for long if he wanted to leave with the car in tact.
Mickey helped Ian get his suitcase out of the backseat and then leaned against the car, watching Ian with a strange look in his eye. Before Ian could ask, Mickey stalked over to him and leaned up, and pressed his lip's against Ian's. He smelled so sweet. It wasn't the eucalyptus shampoo either -- that had long faded. This was just pure Mickey. Mikhailo.
The moment was over too soon and Ian groaned. Mickey gently patted his cheek, "Don't worry, big guy, you ain't gettin' rid of me this easy. I'll see you soon."
"Soon." Ian repeated back, still a bit dazed in the head.
Mickey smirked as he hopped back into the jaguar and sped off to wherever the fuck it is that Mickey goes.
Ian lugged his bag upstairs, unlocked his door, and plopped down on the couch.
Soon.
--
After texting Fiona one last time, Ian had turned his phone off to avoid any distractions. Giving in to the urge to text Mickey would definitely be a distraction. He needed routine. At least for tonight.
It was a relatively quiet night in terms of activities. He had microwaved a frozen dinner and watched a couple episodes of Schitt's Creek before taking his meds, brushing his teeth, and heading to bed.
No matter how chill of a night he was planning on having, his mind kept racing with thoughts of Mickey with everything he did. That man was so cool and funny and kind, even if he didn't believe it himself. Ian didn't know what exactly had caused such a reign of self-doubt over him, but they would talk about it someday. Ian wanted him to see how good he was. Mickey just brought long-vanished excitement to Ian's life again. He trusted him and cared for him. And he missed him. They had only spent two days together, but Ian couldn't imagine sleeping without him. He drifted off to sleep thinking about what Mickey would look like in his bed with him.
Ian had gotten up at his first alarm for once and arrived to the interview 15 minutes early. He was genuinely passionate about this job so it was easy to turn up his charm. He would hear a call back later that afternoon, but given that he was pretty sure Fiona was sleeping with his would-be boss's boss, he was almost certain he would get the job.
Ian finally turned his phone on when he got home. One message from Fiona -- reminding him of the interview. But more importantly, three from Mickey. He immediately clicked on Mickey's name, absolutely no use in playing it cool anymore. He couldn't get him out of his head.
Mickey (9:27pm): *image attachment*
Tumblr media
Mickey (9:27pm): found this in my bag, i wonder how it got there🤔
Mickey (7:32am): good luck at your interview! hope it was worth literally dragging your ass across the country for
Ian smiled.
Ian (10:06am): I have absolutely no idea how that drawing got there. Maybe trolls? 😇
Ian (10:07am): And your luck helped! I think the interviewer liked me :)
Mickey (10:07am): hopefully he didnt like you too much
Ian (10:09am): SHE liked me a very healthy amount.
Mickey (10:10am): gonna keep it that way
Ian (10:12am): 🙄 Oh Mick. Can't be jealous over something you don't have.
Mickey (10:15am): i have you right where i want you dont you worry your pretty little head
Ian (10:17am): So you think I'm pretty is what I'm hearing?
Mickey (10:18am): i think your annoying go away
Ian (10:19am): I thought I couldn't get rid of you that easy?
Mickey (10:19am): changed my fucking mind
--
Their texting banter came to a halt when Mickey picked up a shift at his legitimate job. Ian unpacked his ratty old suitcase and cleaned up his apartment while he waited for his phone to ring. From the job... from Mickey.
--
Right when he was switching loads of laundry, his phone rang. It would be a lie if he said he didn't drop everything and run.
It was his new boss him on his new job. He couldn't hold back his grin as he immediately texted Mickey, then Fiona. He was proud of himself.
Fiona called and they chatted about the job -- omitting the part where he assumed she was sleeping with the boss -- and Ian's road trip -- omitting the part where he kissed his once assumed kidnapper -- and then about Fiona's kids and Carl's lately stunt. He was so invested in his little criminal brother that he almost didn't hear the knock at his door.
"Fi, I gotta call you back. I think I have a delivery or something." Ian wasn't expecting anything.
Ian nearly leapt backwards when he cautiously opened his door (there were no damn peepholes in his building) to find Mickey waiting on his doormat with a grin on his face. "Congrats on the job, man!"
"Oh my God. You're here?"
"Yeah, I told you I would see you soon. I'm a man of my word. And I brought cupcakes." Always the unexpected. "Well minus one. I didn't know which apartment was yours and I went to your neighbor's first and he wouldn't tell me where you lived without a fuckin' cupcake. Greedy asshole." He murmured, quietly smiting the old bastard.
"Mickey." Ian smiled, eyes crinkling with it. "You're good. You're so good."

I love your memes so much (I think my favorites so far are the socially acceptable behavior and the death jokes)! With the Scourge finally meeting Super post, it’s almost like you read my mind because I was going to ask what you thought their first meeting would be like lol. If you’re willing to take a request, do you think you could write about Scourge trying to teach Super about pop media or something while Sonic walks in like “wtf is going on here.” Have a great day!
Thank you! I'm glad you like my memes! Ngl the death jokes one is one of my favourites haha. Man I need to talk more about Scourge and Super honestly fhssfhsfh I didn't plan that post about their meeting I just thought "who's the prep" and next thing I knew I was halfway through typing. Many ideas are ones that come to me in the middle of the night that I post before I think about them too much lol
I went with a movie marathon bc I figured trying to kill Sonic's friends, destroy the world, and then having amnesia and trying to not become evil again didn't give Super much time to think about watching movies and also bc I don't know anything about pop culture bc I live under a rock lol. Hope you have a great day too!
~~~
"So," Scourge said, flicking off the movie and returning to the home screen, "I guess horror isn't your thing, either?"
Super smiled weakly at him, cushion still clutched close to his chest. "Sorry. Just... bad memories."
"Yeah, yeah," Scourge said, waving away the words, determined to not think about them too hard.
He'd been kicked out of the house for the day because Sonic apparently had some important shit to do that he absolutely could not risk Scourge messing up. What, exactly, that important shit was, Scourge had no idea. Sonic always had important shit going on, and it could range from a new mission to preparing a surprise (or prank) for one of his friends. It was rarely something Scourge needed to be kicked out for, though, so when Sonic shooed him out of the house a few hours ago, Scourge had listened with only minimal bitching. He'd probably find out what Sonic was doing later, anyway.
He would have spent his time bothering one of the Freedom Fighters, or some of his friends outside the Freedom Fighters (and wasn't that a novel concept, Scourge actually had friends now) but most of them were busy and the rest lived out of the way. Scourge had been in the middle of debating if the trip to the Floating Island was worth bothering Knuckles and Porker when he'd gotten a text from Ebony asking if he would mind keeping Super company for the day. Apparently she and Pyjamas also had some shit to do, and for some reason Super couldn't come, but he hated being alone and thus required a babysitter. Not that Ebony had phrased it like that, but that was the way Scourge saw it.
Honestly, he'd been tempted to say no. He wasn't friends with Super, and bothering Knuckles sounded way more entertaining. But Ebony had promised to pay him (further solidifying Scourge's opinion that this was a babysitting job) and who was he to turn down cash?
Thus, movie marathon with Super in the back room of the Groovy Train, because apparently he lived under a rock and didn't know anything about movies. Poor fucker.
He'd tried a mystery first, but he'd quickly gotten bored, and Super had only been mildly more invested in it than him, so he hadn't felt guilty about turning it off. Western was next, but Super had been into that even less, so Scourge had taken the opportunity to try his personal favourite genre: horror.
It was an enormous flop. Psychological stuff freaked Super out, and not the way it was supposed to, and the second they'd switched to a movie with gore, he'd gone almost as green as Scourge at the first sight of blood.
It was pathetic, really. Hard to believe this was the same guy who'd constantly only lost to Sonic by the skin of his teeth and nearly committed murder multiple times.
Really, this wasn't on the list of things Scourge wanted to do with his time. He didn't have anywhere near the kind of issues with Super as Sonic did. He mainly just found him annoying. Terrified of his own power, pretty non-confrontational, quiet and polite and nice. A pacifist through and through. Potentially-universe-destroying powers aside, the most entertaining thing about Super was how riled up Sonic got about him. All in all, not someone Scourge would have ever imagined willingly spending time with.
Prime Sonic would probably like him.
Maybe that's why he grated on Scourge's nerves sometimes.
"Thriller, then," Scourge said, shifting away from the horror genre and flicking through the collection of thrillers. "Thrillers are okay if you pick the right ones. You ever seen a thriller?"
Super squirmed a little. The green tint to his face was finally fading. "Sort of. I know I... I mean, I know Sonic likes thrillers, so I have some memories, I guess. So thrillers might work."
Despite his words, Super didn't look enthusiastic at all, frowning down at the carpet with a frustrated pinch to his brows.
Ah. Scourge bit back a curse. And there was the reason Super didn't irritate him as much as he should have. Why he spent more time feeling sorry for him than he spent annoyed at him.
Desperately trying to be your own person, away from Sonic, was so, so fucking difficult when part of your identity would always be permanently tied to the bastard. Like a weight dragging you down, the way it tied you to a set role and refused to let you grow beyond that role, the name branded on the back of your head no matter how much you tried to get rid of it, a voice whispering in your ear that you're still Sonic, will always be Sonic, and you can change your name and your fur color and your actions but that won't change the fact the multiverse has labelled you as yet another Sonic, and all the speed in the world won't let you escape from it completely...
Hard to be constantly mad at someone who understood just how stifling the Sonic name could be, even if they'd gone in completely opposite directions when dealing with it.
"I didn't ask if Sonic had seen one," Scourge said, nudging Super with his arm. "I asked if you've seen one."
Super blinked at him, finally lifting his head from the cushion. Scourge did his best to keep his face and eyes blank; no need to turn this into a big deal.
Sonic - his Sonic, the one from this dimension - had done more for Scourge than he'd ever know by refusing to see him as just another Sonic. A lookalike, yes, but never another Sonic. He wouldn't have accepted that even if Scourge wanted to be a Sonic. The title was already taken, no possibility of sharing. One Sonic the Hedgehog, one Hero of Mobius, and only one. Scourge had no choice but to be someone else if he wanted to stay in this dimension, because Sonic sure as hell wasn't making room for one more.
It was ridiculously fucking refreshing, to have someone unknowingly reject his relation to the Sonic name just as viciously as he'd rejected it in the first place.
Scourge wasn't one for passing on good karma or some stupid shit like that. Being nice to random strangers just because someone else was nice to him didn't come naturally to him. Returning a favor to someone who'd extended one in the first place, sure, that made sense. A debt repaid. Easy to understand. But passing it on to someone else? Scourge still couldn't wrap his head around it, despite the Freedom Fighters best efforts to change that. Maybe that would change in time, or maybe Scourge was stuck like this, selfishness ingrained into his very nature, his home dimension latching onto his core and leaving him destined to be an asshole for the rest of his life, only giving him room to become slightly less of an asshole like he'd managed so far.
But.
But not even he could deny Super a hand extended in understanding. The offer of I see you, not Sonic, I see your rejection and I reject it with you.
How could he, when he himself had spent so long denying how desperately he needed it?
It wasn't a favor for a favor, or a debt repaid. But it was a mutual understanding that was almost impossible to find with anyone else. Which was apparently enough for Scourge to... not like him, but tolerate him, if nothing else.
Which was a huge fucking compliment back in his dimension, so anyone who said he was being unfair could shut the fuck up.
"No," Super said at last. He smiled at Scourge again, and this one was a little stronger. "No, I don't think I have."
"Cool." Scourge considered the screen, then flicked away from the thriller genre. Carefully avoided Super's eyes so he wouldn't have to see any... ugh, gratitude. "And you can start later. I watched a thriller last night, I'm not in the mood for one right now. Pick something else. Anything else." He reconsidered. "Actually, anything except a romcom. I'm not watching a shitty romcom with you."
(And thank fuck Super wasn't close to him or any of his friends, because if he was he could've pointed out that Scourge watched romcoms with Sonic, and completely ignore him when he said that was only because they enjoyed shitting on them together.)
Super examined the menu with a thoughtful look on his face. After a few seconds, he perked up.
"What about action?"
Action. He could do that.
Scourge obediently started to flick through the selection of action movies, eyes darting between the descriptions and Super's face in his search for something they might both enjoy. Eventually, he picked one at random and settled down, arm curled around a bowl of popcorn.
His phone buzzed just as the movie was starting, and with a weary sigh he pulled it out of his jacket, angling the screen away from Super when he saw it was Sonic texting him.
Sonic: Where are you btw
Scourge: groovy train
Scourge: stop pullin that face im getting paid for this
Sonic: I'm not pulling a face
Scourge: ye u are i kno u
"Thank you, by the way."
Scourge lifted his eyes from his phone. Super wasn't looking at him, eyes glued to the screen; apparently he was just as shit with eye contact when dealing with emotions as the rest of them.
"For what?"
"For giving up your time to stay with me for the day. I know I'm... not the Sonic you'd rather spend time with."
Scourge should probably say something comforting in response to that, shouldn't he? But, well. He wasn't wrong.
"'S whatever," Scourge said, leaning back against the couch. "I've been kicked out of the house for the day anyway. Might as well earn some cash while I'm at it."
Super nodded, still refusing to look at Scourge as he lifted a handful of popcorn to his mouth.
"Say," Scourge started, eyes only half focused on the movie. The subtitles were on, so he didn't need to fully pay attention anyway. "Why didn't your moms bring you with them, anyway? Since you hate being alone so much."
"They're not my mums!" Super protested, face flushing a deep red.
"Yeah they are. The only thing stopping them filling out adoption papers is the fact you're legally still a wanted criminal." He nudged Super with his foot. "C'mon, don't dodge the question. I know you'd rather be with them than with me."
Super sighed, eyes drifting away from the movie for a brief moment. "They're... going somewhere with a lot of chaos energy. For Pyjamas. So I can't go. Ebony offered to stay behind with me, but she already does so much for me, I didn't want to make her miss out. I said I'd be fine on my own, but..."
But Super has anxiety, Ebony's text that morning had read, and I'd feel better if there was someone there to keep him company, just in case he has a flashback or panic attack.
Damn. Imagine having parents that cared about that kind of shit. Lucky bastard.
"Lucky you got me, then," Scourge said. "All the other Freedom Fighters are boring as shit. And have shit taste in movies. If we're going to catch you up movies, you can't be exposed to shit ones, or you'll end up with shit taste-"
"Then you should've been the last person called," a dry, snarky voice interrupted.
Scourge whirled around to find Sonic leaning against the doorway, arms folded, signature smirk in place. His eyes were firmly fixed on Scourge, but anyone who knew him could see the tension in his arms and shoulders.
Beside him, Super had gone very, very still.
Sonic and Super kept... a respectful distance from one another. Very respectful, and very, very far away. Sonic wasn't at Super's throat anymore, nor was he planning to drag him by the ear and throw him into a jail cell, and Super didn't have a problem with Sonic when he wasn't hopped up on chaos energy, but the friction between them never really went away. They weren't banned from seeing one another, but not doing so was usually a deliberate choice on both of their parts.
Scourge was going to choose to interpret this as Sonic missing him so much he was willing to exist in Super's presence, mainly because he could not be bothered to try and figure out the actual reason he was here. Sonic would tell him later if it was important.
"Oh, like your taste is any better?" Scourge said, puffing up his chest in faux indignation. He was not going to let any potential awkwardness ruin this for him. He wasn't getting paid enough to deal with that.
"Better than yours," Sonic shot back instantly. He looked like he wanted to approach, but he didn't actually budge from the doorway. "You know, when I told you to find something to do to keep you out of the house, I didn't mean corrupt Super with your shit taste in films. The fuck are you even watching? Some shitty action film put together with cardboard and a piece of string?"
"Excuse you, this is high quality cinema," Scourge gasped, pressing a hand to his chest in offense. "I wouldn't force Super to watch garbage, how dare you, just because we're not watching one of your shitty thrillers-"
Sonic darted over in an instant, snatching the bowl of popcorn and tipping it up on Scourge's head. Apparently being in close proximity to the guy who tried to murder his friends was a price Sonic was willing to pay if it meant he got to bully Scourge.
"We're breaking up," Scourge announced, flicking some popcorn at Sonic in retaliation. "You don't love me and you're only here for my leather jacket."
"Pretty much," Sonic agreed, flicking the popcorn back at him. Scourge caught it in his mouth.
Beside him, Super was chuckling quietly, nervously, like he was afraid of being heard but too amused at their bickering to hold it in. He kept his own bowl, previously balanced on the arm of the couch, clutched close to his chest like he'd done with the cushion earlier, but he wasn't eyeing Sonic warily, nor did he look like he was about to bolt. Scourge pointedly didn't draw attention to it.
"You owe me more popcorn," Scourge said, digging around the couch for stray pieces of popcorn to eat. No way was he wasting perfectly good popcorn. "And we're watching a horror movie next week."
"We were already going to watch a horror movie next week. It's your turn to pick, and you always pick a horror movie."
"Oh, like you don't always pick thrillers?"
"Shut the fuck up. Where's the popcorn?"
"Left the bag on the counter in the kitchen," Scourge said, grinning. He waved Sonic away. "Come on, waiter, I'll give you a popcorn tip if you're fast."
Sonic stuck two fingers up at him as he headed for the kitchen, popcorn bowl in tow. He playfully gave Scourge's ear a little pull as he passed, but was careful to make sure it didn't hurt. He didn't look at Super. Huge upgrade from when this started, when he couldn't go two seconds without glaring at the guy.
Scourge settled back down on the couch as he listened to Sonic swear and struggle to work the microwave, a cry of "Then why the fuck is there a popcorn setting?" ringing through the open door as he read the instructions on the bag. Super was more relaxed than he had been when Sonic first walked in, and there was a faint smile tugging at his mouth.
Playing babysitter and having a movie marathon with Super might not be so bad if Sonic was there.
... Providing Super didn't mind their habit of talking during movies, of course.
Reader (Ghosts BBC, Mentioning of Alison/Mike and Alison/Thomas)
SUMMARY: You grew up in a wonderful big house full of ghosts. But why did you see them anyway? Reader Insert Series: BBC Ghosts AN: As I haven't the time to fully write out this idea, here's a shortened version of a prompt that has been playing inside my mind. Based on a post I viewed recently: I have always thought that if I'd been Alison, I'd be scared to death about getting pregnant or having a miscarriage and seeing that ghost child all the time. Now I could write something angsty about this, or something funny. I decided to go for a different route and wrote how it would be to be born in that household, with Alison and Mike as your mum and dad. (So no miscarriages or creepy things, just growing up with ghosts). Enjoy! PS. If anyone feels like picking up this idea or exploring elements of it, please do <3 -- -- Seeing ghosts was a normality to you. As you grew up, you saw them around the house and they were your friends. You saw them in school, saw them in the streets and basically everywhere you went. And you more than often became friends with them.
So this was how mum felt, hmm?
You could not say that you led a normal life. Seeing the ghosts and interacting with them wasn’t the oddest thing of all. No. The oddest thing you found, was something only revealed to you at a much later date, when you were already grown. But let’s cut back to when you were little.
You grew up in a wonderfully big home that your mum and dad had inherited by pure luck (or was it misfortune?). The house cost them everything and more than often people had wondered why they had started having kids during such a stressful period in their lives – because the home was still a bit of a wreck when you were born.
The house was large and wonderful and yours. You had never known any other place and you felt no need to ever move elsewhere. You loved it here. It was a certain love that made your mum and dad all the more determined to keep the place no matter what.
Apart from living in a fantasy-like building, your life was pretty normal.
Except for the ghosts.
The first time your parents noticed you saw them was when you were just a toddler and your father freaked out because you seemed to be talking to someone who wasn’t there. Your mum, being able to see them after a nearly-fatal accident, confirmed his fears though. You were playing with one of the ghosts that inhabited the house. Your parents thought it was a one off, until your sister was born four years later and she exhibited the same signs as you had.
Thus, the theory that seeing ghost was inheritable came into existence.
But as you had been seeing them since you were born, you held no fear of the inhabitants of the house. And there were a lot of them. It meant you were never alone. It was soothing in a way. Whenever there was something wrong or you felt sad or down, one of the ghosts was bound to cheer you up.
You especially loved Humphrey as a child. You loved his soothing voice and the tales he would tell when you couldn’t sleep. Truth to be told, you had a bit of a crush on the late Sir Humphrey Bone as a kid, thinking his face to be really pretty. So pretty, you often helped when his head and body were apart. You would go searching for another of the ghosts to pick up his head and put him back together whenever he lost it again. Though sometimes it would just be his head on your nightstand. Others might think this depravingly morbid, but it brought you a sense of safety, knowing he was there watching you. It chased away any bad dreams.
You often held sleepovers with Kitty. She was a lovely giggling young woman, and she loved to play hide and seek with you and your sister in the grand garden surrounding your home. The three of you would often giggle way into the night when either your mum would come to tell you to please go to sleep – or Robin joined in and did some of his caveman word games with the three of you – which made the evening all the better (no matter how often Kitty would exclaim that it was supposed to be a girls night only).
Having the ghosts around wasn’t always fun though. For instance, when you were a teenager and were playing dressing up and imagining all the boys who would swoon over you, only to see a head stick through your wall and telling you off. Auntie Fanny was a real pain sometimes, always talking about how you should be decent, how you should dress, how to hold your fork and knife during a dinner with guests. It was frustrating but she always managed to get on your nerves.
Your sister didn’t fare much better with her and suffered the same mouthiness of the former lady of the house. It didn’t help that the ghost woman still jumped out of a window in the midst of the night either. Your sister failed one of her exams once because she couldn’t focus on learning the material because Fanny Button kept her up each night with her screams. It was thanks to Thomas’ support that she was forced to focus on her schoolbooks and thanks to the other ghosts (and mum, who was pretty much threatening them to do as she said) to keep Auntie Fanny in check. In the end, your sister had changed back to a different room. The previous one she had occupied had been chosen by her because of the epic royal bathroom attached to it. Now she slept closer to yours again and took to using the shared bathroom without complaining. You didn’t mind, you liked having her close again.
Out of all the ghosts, you found the Captain to be the most tiresome as you were young. He was always drilling on about what you and the others should do. Always focusing on schedules that you should follow. Telling you off like you were a soldier.
Pat was way kinder, and often a bit too soft. You knew he often hung around your younger sister, because she was more outgoing than you were and he loved to be outside in nature. He helped her do all sorts of tricks, climb trees, shoot a bow and arrow – dangerous stuff even. But he taught her to do it responsibly, despite what you may expect of a man with an arrow lodged in his throat.
And then there was the one who frightened you like no other. Not even the plague citizens living in the cellar, who always kindly helped you with whatever issue you came to talk about. Yep, one of the ghosts scared you for a while: you usually tried to avoid Julian. As you were young, you thought he was an old man, wearing no pants, and he had a mean streak to him – jealousy you often found. He didn’t particularly seemed to like kids either, so you were fine with him going out of your way. As you grew older you realised Julian wasn’t actually as bad as you thought him to be. He even saved your life once or twice by pushing away or picking up a dangerous object that might have injured you otherwise. He was watching over you, like all the others were. And as you grew into a teenager and passed that sweet 16, you noticed a different gleam in his eyes. Julian changed. He became more gallant, more of a smooth talker when around you. But that behaviour ended quite abruptly, although the gleam of admiration never left his eyes. You wondered what had frightened him so to stop his advances on you. Whatever it was, you were grateful. Julian was not your type and never would be. (Later on you found out he had been challenged to a duel by Thomas who wanted to defend your honour, as child of the lovely Alison).
And then there was Jemima, she was the best friend of you and of your sister. As children she was just amazing to play with. First, she was older, and knew cool games you and your sibling had never heard of. Then, you grew to be the same age and she was the coolest girl you would ever know. And then, you grew older and she grew quieter. But you never ceased your habit of singing chilly songs with her.
You were a child, growing up between ghosts, and you felt safe between them. And though your father swore he could see them, most of his interactions with the house ghosts was initiated through you or your sister. He just didn’t possess the gift. But he was the greatest dad there ever lived. He loved doing stuff with you and your sister, going out, do fun things. He was a swell dad, filled to the brim with love for you and your sibling. He’d do anything to keep the two of you safe and happy and clothed and fed – even if things financially didn’t always go well for your family. You loved him to bits.
Your mum tried to warn you of the dangers of seeing ghosts. How those who could not see them would think it weird – would think you to be weird. You minded her words and sensibly, didn’t let anything show while in school. Even though, you were troubled with the ghost of a former teacher who kept sitting at a way too small child’s desk next to you and pester you throughout the lessons. You were glad when your mum told him off, some day after lessons. She had to sneak into the school with you. Oh boy, you had loved her firm voice, her confidence, and the fact that the ghost stuck to a different classroom from then on without coming near you again.
Your sister had a bit of a harder time. She let herself be distracted by the ghosts of a few children who had died in a school fire ages ago. While you had gotten away with explaining to them how you could not talk to them while others were around, your sister didn’t mind that rule though, and your parents struggled more than once with comments on how they should take your sister to see a doctor about this. Eventually, your sister learned, as she grew older. But more than often she would ignore what others thought of her and still communicate with the dead whilst other living beings were around.
But despite the fortune, or misfortune, of seeing ghosts, your life was pretty normal as you grew up. You loved all house ghosts for different reasons.
While Mary was easily one of your favourites, she was also a bit daft to the modern ways. Simple, might be a better word. She often promised to help you with your homework, but she never could attribute anything that you didn’t already know. So you often had to distract her with small tasks or tell her to hang out with Kitty or Robin instead.
And when Mary was gone it would be Thomas who would take over. Although he was easily distracted by art and snivelly poems, he would always try his best to focus and help you and your sister through each demeaning homework task. Sir Thomas Thorne was always nearby when you needed him. He had the tendency to sing songs to you as a baby, create old fashioned nursery rhymes when you were a toddler, play silly games with you as a child, motivate and guide you as a teenager.
In hindsight, you should have seen it coming. With all the care he held for you, with the warm tingling feeling it gave you whenever he was around. You should have known. And when you were a teenager and dated that ghost boy from two blocks away, it was Thomas who completely lost it and told you the boy would be no good for you, and that you deserved someone better. Someone more permanent. Someone alive.
Your mother and Thomas had a huge fight then – ("Someone more permanent than a ghost? That's rich coming from you!" your mum had shouted) all ghosts were listening in. But your dad was none the wiser. And so were you. Because you did not catch all references, and you did not understand each jab and insult thrown like a ping pong ball. And when your mum sat with her hands in her hair and Sir Thomas’ arm wrapped around her shoulder, you thought they had just made up. And then your father came in and he gave your mother solace. They hugged for a long time, and Thomas had just gone into the adjacent room. But that was all there was to it.
Of course it wasn’t though. Because your mother was strong. Darn strong. You loved it about her. The whole attitude she had, the air with which she wandered around the home and instructed the ghosts like she owned them. Your father said it hadn’t always been like that, that it had grown over time. In the beginning she had been ill-at ease, easily manipulated by the inhabitants of their home, had been often looked at funnily and ruined many a great business deal for talking or listening to the ghosts. She still did that – listen to them. She still embarrassed herself and your whole family along with it. Like that time you were at a beach party with family and friends and she had an entire conversation with a family of the 1960’s who were dead. Yeah, you’d rather not think back on that.
Or the one time one of she reported a crime to a dead officer.
Yeah.
But your mother was your hero. She was strong, fierce, and always stood up for you and your sister.
To find out a much deeper and darker truth then, about your family, was world shattering. And it was all because your sister had been in an accident and you came home to find Thomas in all states. And when you asked the other ghosts what had occurred they told you he was crying about his child. And that’s only when the pin dropped and you realised why this man was always working in your best interest and being so darn warm and kind for a person who was dead. Because you'd not missed the many times he showered your mother with affection. Or the way she would smile at him when he gave her another compliment. Or the way they would be just a little...too close. Could your sister be the child of a ghost? Impossible, right?
And you confronted your mum about it.
And she broke down.
Alison Cooper confessed to you, while your father was away at work, that she had been entangled with the ghost of Sir Thomas Thorne after a few heavy drinks and a way too fun party held at their home. Apparently, she had been incredibly drunk and had said things she otherwise wouldn’t have admitted. What happened should not have been possible by far. But Thomas had been able to actually feel her, and Alison had believed that no ghost could actually cause consequences with a human who was still alive. Perhaps her near-death experience had thrown something into the mix. We would never know. But Alison found herself pregnant after days spent without a touch by your dad, Mike. The first thought had been to terminate the pregnancy, but remembering the dove that still liked to terrorize their bedroom, Alison had grown scared. She realised she could not terminate the pregnancy or she might be faced with a ghost of her own baby. And you realised this was not your sister she was talking about. This was you.
So instead, Alison had pleaded Thomas to keep their secret (which he had done poorly and every ghost knew what had truly occurred, but luckily your dad could not interact with them), and your mum seduced your dad. They were already married, there were no contenders, your father believed you were theirs and never held a doubt. In hindsight, it explained your paleness- and the seeing of ghosts. It had been deemed the impossible, and for a long while, Alison thought and hoped that you were a child of Mike’s after all.
Mike took it all up really well, with you being what is called an accident. He was instantly smitten – as were all of the ghosts to be honest. Alison thought things would work our after all.
But then, when Mike wanted to have another kid, and though they tried, it took three years and a lot of desperation to admit to seeing a doctor. And then they were faced with the terrible truth that Mike wasn’t fertile at all. The news was delivered to your mum first, with Mike away and only the house ghosts listening in. It was a shock to all of them, mostly to Alison who had been pointed at the result by another ghost doctor. She managed to hide away the evidence, the true results, and together with newly found ghost friends she made at the hospital, fabricated a new lie. Mike was never to know that you could not possibly be his.
So instead, Alison was persuaded by Thomas and her undying love for Mike. He wanted another baby, she wanted them to be happy. Deal done. Thomas fathered a second ghost-seeing child with your mum. Your sister. The one who was recovering in hospital after a nasty car crash. (And luckily, she got out alive and safe and you got to hug her again tightly because no matter what, your sister would always be closest to you - all ghosts in spite).
So there you were, hearing your mother’s confession. The understanding dawning upon you that you did not see ghosts because of just your mum – but because you father was one. It all made so much sense. And it took a lot of strength to keep your mouth shut about it to Mike, your father.
Your real father, Thomas, you found, was understanding. And you were glad more than once that he could not interact with Mike. You had warned him that you would keep calling Mike dad, even if he wasn’t biologically. And Mike remained none the wiser. You still loved your non-biological dad as fiercely as you had before. You’d just glare a lot more in Thomas’ direction for a while.
In the end, you ended up marrying a young ‘living’ partner. You made sure that both Mike and Thomas were leading you down the aisle – even if Mike was never to know it. All Ghosts loved it, loved how you recognised Thomas to be your father. They also loved it how you never once dropped the truth on Mike or let him down. In your eyes, he would always remain on a pedestal as the perfect dad. It just so happened that you had two now.
As you somehow had expected, Alison died too young. An accident out of love, one of the ghosts had said. (She was furious at Thomas for many years to come, but she could not help but love him still.) During the years she was angry at Thomas, she tried to convey a message to Mike. She wanted him to know the truth, but he hadn’t understood her dying last breath, and he hadn’t understood her hauntings. ("It say's Thomas... dad? dad? Wait a minute, isn't Thomas one of the ghosts? Yeah, of course he is dead. Duh!") And he seemed delighted that she was still there, even as he started dating a new woman and ended up marrying her. (Alison was okay withit, but only after smashing a few vases and making that new woman's life a living hell). It was no wonder your dad wanted to move elsewhere quite soon after his second marriage. I mean, living with your deceased wife and your new crumpit was a bit weird, right? Your dad, Mike, handed the house to you and your sister. She chose not to stay and lived her live elsewhere, visiting occassionally, while Mike and his new wife settled somewhere close by. You remained in the huge mansion with your husband and your children, enjoying the way the ghosts watched over them as they had watched over you, feeling safe and happy. Because with these ghosts you were at home.
dark alley help part 7
part 6: intrigued police | part 8: hassle
word count: 2.3k
》 public fingering, denied orgasm, oral
- ✿ -
Just as Taeyong was about to light up the cigarette between his lips, you plucked it out and threw it on the ground, making him breath out a heavy sigh.
"You're nervous, aren't you?" you asked.
He was hesitant to nod. "Yeah. What if-"
You shushed him with your finger on his lips. "There's no need to worry. That what if might not even happen. Remember what I told you?"
Taeyong sighed and nodded, silently reminding himself to not say a word at the dinner unless directed to do so.
You smiled. "Then, let's go!"
-
After ringing the bell, the door opened to reveal an unwelcoming-looking mother who was fuming not at you...
But at Taeyong.
Looked like you were off to a rough start. "Mom, this is Taeyong, the one I was-"
Her glare still fixed on the man, she muttered angrily, "He is not coming inside."
Taeyong glued his nervous gaze to the ground while you sternly told her, "Mom, can I talk to you first?" You stepped to the side where Taeyong wouldn't hear you, and she followed without dropping her scowl at him.
"Raymond said he's a-"
You cut her off before she could say anything you didn't want to hear. "I knew about Taeyong when you first asked me."
Her jaw dropped. "You lied?"
You nodded. "Because I knew you wouldn't be happy about it."
"You had perfect Raymond to be with and you let him go because of this... one?" She threw a look of disgust at Taeyong.
You held yourself back from clawing at her. "Raymond was talking shit about us and that was why Taeyong involved himself and how we ended up at the police station. You can even ask the officer there. He knows Taeyong well enough that he's a good person. If you can listen and trust me, I say you forget about that asshole you really like and give Taeyong a chance."
-
At the dining table, your mother kept her eyes trained on the quiet man next to you. Your father on the other hand was eating his meal as if there was no thick tension in the room. Your brother was nowhere in sight and if you had to guess where he was, he would be celebrating with his friends now that the business responsibility was off his shoulders.
"So, what do your parents do?" your mother asked Taeyong.
He swallowed his food slowly, keeping his eyes on the silverware and answered, "I don't have them."
"Oh... I'm sorry to hear that."
"It's okay. I've never met them."
Your father stopped eating and for the first time lifted his eyes onto Taeyong. Your mother's jaw dropped in disbelief, and your breath hitched, finding out something new yet sad about him. "You've been an orphan?" you asked with gentleness in your tone.
He gave a curt nod.
Recovering from the shock, your mother let out an exasperated sigh. "He grew up without proper guidance. Is he really trustworthy?"
Your jaw fell at her outrageous remark. "Mom!"
She ignored you and asked him, "Do you love my daughter?"
Your father stared at his wife in disbelief. "She's mine too."
"You're not acting like it, stuffing your face in the food-"
"Stop!" You shouted without meaning to and mumbled an apology. "Sorry."
Your mother ignored you and resumed her attention on Taeyong. "So, do you?"
Your heart banged in your chest, worried to hear his answer. Liking was mutual, but love? It was too soon for such a confession without having discussed it beforehand.
But it wasn't for Taeyong. "Yes, I do."
You whipped your head to him, utterly shocked by the response.
Humming, your mother asked, "What do you love about her?"
So subtly, the corner of his lips curled up. "Her beautiful soul."
Knowing fully by what he meant, you coughed.
Your mother scoffed. "Oh really?"
"Yes, as beautiful as you, ma'am," Taeyong stated seriously.
The air became so still that your father landed his gaze onto him for the second time, not believing someone said that to his wife. You almost gasped loudly at the smooth compliment, impressed that he was going to earn some brownie points without your help.
Her eyes sparkled, and she couldn't lie to herself that she didn't feel something flutter inside her at the young man's words. "I'm flattered," she spoke softly. "Something this one hasn't said to me in decades," she scowled, nodding at her husband.
"Hey! You never asked for it!"
"I didn't ask for it from Taeyong." She crossed her arms in front of her chest and stared at the man across. "What a kind gentleman. But it's not enough. You know the biggest concern I have with him, Y/N."
A soft sigh left your lips as it was time to break the news. "I'm taking the family business."
All eyes shifted onto you with confusion written on their faces. You hadn't told Taeyong the plan as you wanted it to be a surprise.
"You know your brother is having it,” your father stated.
"And you know very well he doesn't want it. He'd rather have the luxury I got and marry a rich girl. I've already started learning from him today. You won't let me do anything else. At least let me handle the business and be with Taeyong, please?"
The two exchanged silent glances. Eventually, your father spoke up, liking your determination. "I don't see anything wrong with it. What do you say?" he asked his wife.
Your mother watched you with a tensed expression. Her eyes shifted between you and Taeyong before dropping her shoulders with a sigh. "Okay."
"Huh?"
Nodding, she forced a smile. "You can be with Taeyong."
It happened. She agreed. You couldn't believe your ears and turned to Taeyong with a huge growing smile, beaming in your seat with excitement bubbling in you. He smiled back seeing your happiness, but it fell slowly when his eyes landed on your mother. Taeyong observed her demeanor, observing the crease in her forehead. He could read it, having seen it often in his life.
She looked troubled.
-
Swirling the milkshake around with the straw, you took a long sip and glanced up at Taeyong. He was lost in his thoughts, mirroring your action with the straw. He only had a single sip so far while you nearly downed half of it. The diner was empty except for another couple sitting afar.
Licking your lips, you called for him softly. "Tae, what's up?"
He lifted his gaze and faked a smile. "Nothing."
You scoffed. "Oh really? Says the one who was really hungry since he barely ate at the dinner and now completely abandoned his burger and only tasted his milkshake. Come on, tell me what's on your mind?"
He stopped playing with his drink and pushed it away with a deep sigh. "Your mother... isn't happy."
You quirked an eyebrow up. "That I know."
Surprised, he asked, "Really?"
Nodding, you said, "It'll take her a while, but she'll eventually come around it. As long as she continuously sees me happy with you, she'll trust you one day. Until then, you just have to be patient. It's a big thing she at least agreed to give you a chance so let's cheer to that!"
Taeyong smiled briefly before it slipped off his face.
"Something else is bothering you, huh?"
"The... the business... you-"
You cut him off with a hum. "You're not happy that I didn't tell you about it, right?"
He sighed and added, "And you're doing that because I... I'm- you know..."
You huffed, rolling your eyes. "No, I'm doing it because I want to. And I don't care about what you have or don't have, as long as I don't lose you. It's nice that it worked out, me finally having something to do with my life, and still be by your side. How better can life get?" Taeyong watched your ecstatic smile, beaming so hard that you might split your face if it went any bigger. He'd do anything to see you like this, and so he trusted your word, his appetite at last opening up and devoured his late night meal.
After leaving the dimly lit diner and nearing his car, you halted your steps and told him, "You know you're cute, right?"
He stopped and slowly turned to face you. "What?"
Giggling quietly, you explained, "I didn't think you were the type to worry about what others felt. I thought you were badass, maybe rebellious type. It's cute seeing you worry about my mom. Other guys wouldn't even care."
You thought he'd crack a smile, but when he only stared back at you blankly, you freaked out.
Crap, did I push the wrong button? Did it trigger his orphaned life? "Did I hurt you? Did I say something wrong? I'm sorry."
But you didn't. Not when you heard a faint throaty growl. It was so faint that your ears wouldn't have caught it if it weren't for the silence of the near empty parking lot.
In a flash, you were enveloped tightly in his arms as he smashed his lips onto yours, moving rough and fast as if he were starving for your taste.
No milkshake could quench his thirst for you.
You melted into the heated make out session and cupped his face. Too lost in the lip lock, you didn't realize when he lifted you until your bum felt the coolness of a metal surface. When he pulled back with lust-filled eyes, you looked around.
He had put you on top of his car's trunk.
"Tae, why-" You were cut off when he reattached his lips onto you, trailing down towards your jawline and eventually settling to attack your neck. His fingers danced along your bare thighs, bunching your dress upward, and you shivered when his fingers traveled closer to your heat. Your legs quivered when feeling the combination of your growing wetness and the coolness of the night.
Without once abandoning his attack on your neck, he spread your legs apart and his fingers found your clothed clit, circling over it. You let out a loud moan, bucking your hips to silently ask for more. Shoving your panties aside, he pushed a finger inside, making you gasp inwardly and rolled your hips. Abruptly, he plunged a second one in and your body arched backwards, your hands finding the surface of the trunk to prop you from falling. Repeatedly going out and in till knuckle deep and curling to hit the right spots that neared you to release, he watched your beautiful lips spill out soft sighs and silent cries.
"I'm close," you whispered with your brows scrunching up.
And right after you said that, Taeyong stilled his fingers.
Your eyes flew open, panting heavily. "Why you stop?"
With a smirk, he completely withdrew his fingers from your heat and licked them clean. Walking away from you, he opened the driver's door and you realized what he was doing.
"Are you seriously going to leave me hot and bothered like this? Come back and finish what you started!" you shouted as you hopped off the car.
But he shook his head at you, tsking. "Consider it payback for what you did earlier."
Your blood ran cold at his mean game. "Hey! I gave you what you wanted after! I even let you come that time! That's not fair!" you screamed, stomping your feet madly.
He only chuckled in response, loved seeing you desperate for him, and wanted to drag it a little longer for your reaction until-
"If you don't, then I'm gonna go inside and get that waiter to help me release!"
Taeyong froze, his hand gripping the door tightly with his furious eyes on you. Taeyong had noticed the way that waiter subtly eyed you on your way out and refrained from doing anything more when he caught Taeyong giving him a deadly glare. "You wouldn't."
You knew you wouldn't. Not after you met Taeyong. But two could play a game. "You know I would, seeing that I've done it before," you said with a sly smile.
He glared at you for a hot second before slamming his door shut and rounded back to you. Lifting you back onto the trunk, he ripped your legs apart and dove his head in between your legs. His teeth nipped at your folds, and you let out a cry in both pain and pleasure. His tongue dove into your heat, making you gasp and sob at how good it felt as you balled up your hands with his hair. Taeyong gave a few harsh sucks, and within seconds you came on his tongue. You cried out his name and your back arched all the way till it laid flat against the rear window as Taeyong drew out your release. After slurping the last drop of your essence, he pulled back and watched your chest rise and fall slowly back to its normal rate.
"That was mean," you said, referring to his game after catching your breath.
He pulled you down till you were on your feet again, holding you up as your legs refused to stay steady. Your thumb swept across his bottom lip to collect your cum.
"Not meaner than you saying you'd get help from a stranger. Only I get access there. You deserve a punishment,” he said, and his hand flew down to palm his member to life.
You shook your head. "No, I don't. It was your fault for leaving me like that. If anything, you deserve a punishment."
Taeyong liked that and leaned in super close, his hands resting on the car by either sides of your body, trapping you in place. "Oh yeah? What's my punishment, doll?"
You innocently smiled at him and uttered the cruelest thing that his ears had to bear. "You're not getting anything else tonight." With a hard flick of finger at his forehead, he yelped as his hands went up to rub at the burst of pain. Giggling giddily, you dashed off into his car before he'd actually fuck you in the middle of the parking lot.
canaan bubble redux as a womb for story/character arcs
I’m sure most of this has been posted about before but: ever since my initial read I’ve been obsessed with the gross bodily/gorey stuff in the Canaan redux and I wanted to organize some of my constant+chaotic thoughts!!
TM has said that a lot of the motifs/events in the bubbles are actually “Silent Hill stand-ins” for story elements and she hopes we pick up on stuff, so here’s my Attempt!
At the same time that Harrow’s mind is being made a tomb for Gideon Nav Wake’s subconscious is pulled in to act as a womb for certain plot elements right alongside it. The chronology/time period of HtN mimics a full nine-month gestation. There’s a lot of very literal imagery here (which is below the cut), but I also think we’re meant to see it as metaphorical: we’re able to glean some things about character arcs based on how everything in the bubble goes down.
I’m particularly interested right now in those ‘side’ characters in the bubble who aren’t actually dead, who barely appear in the bubble at all except to get summarily offed, all in very distinctive ways. Judith, Camilla, Palamedes, and Coronabeth.
(cw below cut for some pregnancy/insemination imagery, canonical body horror and gruesome bubble deaths rehashed)
First of all just some quotes showing some of the imagery that I’ve attributed to being Wake manifesting pregnancy trauma stuff (there’s possibly some of Harrow’s conception trauma here, too) seeping through, for the purposes of this line of speculation.
This isn’t nearly all of it, but some things that stood out to me as possibly comparing Canaan House 2.0 to a functioning reproductive system:
(ch. 21) a “collection of large, rusted pipette needles” -- turkey basters?
(ch. 35) “great, slithering, pulsing tubes” which contain “whitish-pearl bubbled globules”-- this perhaps recalls ovaries/fallopian tubes, with the ‘globules’ being follicles produced by superovulation for insemination, or corpus luteum that supply progesterone to maintain a pregnancy.
(ch. 45) “stretched webs of organ [...] like nets of sticky venous spiderweb” --uterine walls, maybe; it’s all over the windows, totally encasing them in Canaan’s rooms, and arguably even contracting like a uterus would: “every so often they would tremble uncertainly and erupt in floods of bloody, foamy water.”
in the next pgh we get some more of the tools Wake would have used to conceive/upkeep the pregnancy: “pipettes, broken glass-fronted containers filled with dark fluid,” skeletons sitting atop piles of “capsules or pills” perhaps hormones/supplements. (also holding Drearburh tools, the way Wake’s skelly would have been doomed to do)
(ch. 43) “from that hole emerged a clattering pile of plex scope slides, the type you would preserve a cell sample between“ -- Wake would’ve had to carry out the IVF process for implantation, this also seems like apparatus for that
(ch. 47) there’s the “libation” Abigail uses to summon Wake which is... well. It’s a “thin, milky, whitish liquid pooled at the base, sluggish in the cold,” and the summoning involves a bunch of ‘come’ commands, which I think might be Muir making a very elaborate jizz-adjacent “silly buggers with the emissions” joke.
Just a note, cause I’m hopeless about Pyrrwake: the Seconds’ quarters are almost completely preserved from the leaky body horror (though it’s still cold in there)--as if they represented a sanctuary in Wake’s subconscious. There are also letters in the nonagonal coffin room which spell out an anagram of “PYRRHA” (ch. 47).
So with all that in mind, I’d posit that the fake-ghost deaths are all metaphorical “rebirths” of various characters arcs for ATN. I haven’t delved into what this imagery might mean for Harrow or Gideon specifically because I know there’s a LOT and it’s probably above my theoretical paygrade (I would love for someone to tack on with that though!!) but I can talk about ‘side’ chars on a very big-picture level.
Judith’s simulacrum gets knocked off first (ch. 18); shot through the heart (both atria) while she and Marta’s ghost are trying to complete the winnowing trial. The Sleeper shoots her 7 more times after that, I guess partly just ‘cause she can, but Ortus notes that it seems like there was an element of "Anger” to it. It’s possible Wake wasn’t pleased to have someone messing around with Pyrrha’s lyctoral trial, infuriated that anyone would be attempting to replicate G1d/Pyr’s original downfall. She then ignores Marta entirely and climbs back in the coffin (now with the sword) once Judith’s out of the way.
[Marta’s] scarlet necktie looked redder too—by the time they’d gotten hold of Judith Deuteros the blood had dried hers nearly black.
Cohort red-and-whites being stained black with blood, like a certain high-collared BOE uniform... could be another little clue to Judith’s "heart” for the Emperor (and for Marta, and pretty much everything else she knew) being lost and her realigning--though not willingly, at least at first--with the other side.
Cam and Pal’s simulacrums are plainly executed (ch. 21), they have their “faces obliterated” each by a single gunshot, and it’s as if they just stood there and let it happen. In the bubble, “Harrow had never seen Sextus or Hect except from afar.” These simulacrums totally avoid having their features revealed to Harrow. I’m willing to bet their faces being obscured and then exploded is one of the clues we get to their eyes being swapped around the next time we see them in the epilogue and in ATN.
Regarding the twins: They are essentially non-extant in the bubble. Ianthe never appears because she’s still kicking and, in her own words, “doesn’t live alternate histories” (GtN ch. 15).
Coronabeth’s simulacrum scene (ch. 37) is SO vivid and cryptic. It fascinates me because it definitely is, in part, trying to tell us something poignant about the initiation of Corona’s “worse twin” arc in ATN.
[Corona] was turned away from Harrow, and her riot of hair—half-caught in a fillet, half-escaping—was soaking wet, a dark and crinkling amber in the rain. She was not fighting or arguing. She was still as a statue, and ready and waiting as a dog.
Sounds like the fake ghost preparing for that major shift in allegiance. Silas is the one to ‘dismiss’ her, with his “may the blood of your blood suffer,” which perhaps is a really Templar-y way of saying ‘now go wreck ianthe’s SHIT.’ When Harrow accuses him of sending Corona to her death, Silas asks “Death?”--as if he sees that what’s really just happened, at least metaphorically, is (re)Birth.
[Harrow] thought she saw, absurdly, a sudden gush of watery blood, as though the fog itself had been knifed; but it was gone almost as soon as she had seen it.
Sounds a bit like amniotic fluid/water breaking? Coronabeth doesn’t ever seem to hit the ocean (bodies of water=necromancy and that’s not her deal), she instead just kinda poofs, and Silas says she would have ended up “on her feet.” Coronabeth is ditching her family ties and is out for blood, and I think her charisma, willpower, and sheer desire for revenge will move her a long way in the ranks of Eden--probably even to the point of echoing Commander Wake’s ambitions and actions. I could delve into that damn portrait mirroring Ianthe’s obsession w/ Cyrus’ paintings on the Mithraeum... but that is a whole other post!
So all of these are fairly baseline observations and I think there’s a LOT more to be expounded on, if y’all wanna reply/reblog/DM with additions I would freaking love that, every time I open a page of this book I find something I missed before and it’s such a delight. Thanks for reading if you got this far!!
Baby - Spencer Reid x Reader
Tumblr media
Request: Spencer’s daughter tries to tell him that she’s “not a baby anymore.” He doesn’t take it too well.
A/N: I’M FREAKING BACK, BABY! It has been so long and I’m so very sorry. Here is some tooth-rotting fluff for y’all because I love you. I actually wrote this for the lovely @thekatherinewinchester as a part of @imagining-in-the-margins fic swap, and it was SO fun to write. It also really helped me to have a deadline. I think I’m going to try to do that more often!
Please leave feedback if you have any! Lots and lots and LOTS of love, as always.
------------------------
The first time our daughter attempted to assert her independence, she had just turned 6 years old.
A morning routine with two young children was often chaotic, to say the least. However, the first day of school was always a special one. For some reason, something about this particular September morning made me extra grateful and reflective, even among the disarray.
1 ½ year old Grayson sat in his highchair, babbling nonstop. Though he had only just started eating his applesauce, it completely covered his face and arms. Before I knew it, he was using his spoon to fling the food onto the floor.
Was that an issue on the top of my priority list right now? Nope.
Ava sat at the kitchen table, swinging her legs and eating her cereal with the enthusiasm of an excited 1st grader. Her polka dot dress and matching headband were neatly and meticulously adjusted, revealing the hidden nerves within her initial excitement.
The small TV on the counter was tuned into the local news, though no one ever really listened. Even if anyone wanted to pay attention, Grayson’s babbling would probably drown it out anyway. It was mostly just background noise. But, selfishly, I liked to know the state the world was in before my husband left our home each morning to go make it better, safer. I liked to at least have some idea of what he was going to encounter, even if it meant certain days were filled with anxiety and worry.
Dealing with the unease and stress was a small price to pay for the unceasing love and immeasurable happiness.
To be honest, I never imagined a world where I’d be simultaneously getting our children ready for the day and scrambling eggs for Spencer as he slept in after a long night of work. I never imagined his severe, draining job would let us have even a sliver of happy domesticity. But, as I scraped the last of the eggs onto his now-full plate, I reflected on how lucky the universe had deemed us. This shouldn’t be a reality, and yet, I couldn't imagine our life together any differently.
“Mama?” The voice of my sweet girl snapped me out of my reflective moment.
“What is it, Ava?” I asked, momentarily pausing my motions. She turned around in her chair to face me, eagerness lighting up her small face.
“I’m really excited to go back to school.”
I couldn’t help but smile. She truly was her father’s daughter in every capacity.
“I’m so glad! You’re going to have an amazing day!”
Her bright, golden eyes sparkled, and she turned back to finish her cereal.
Spencer would definitely be up soon. There was no way he was going to miss the sendoff of his favorite girl on her first day of 1st grade.
There wasn’t a single doubt in my mind that Ava was going to blow all of her teachers away. I insisted on keeping her in kindergarten for her first year of school so she could make friends and get used to that type of social environment, but now that she was starting more difficult content, I knew all bets were off. She was absolutely going to skip grades, make breakthroughs, and undoubtedly change the world.
But, thankfully, that was a conversation for another day, and one Spencer was undoubtedly going to have to help me through.
At that very moment, my sweet husband rushed into the kitchen, fastening his tie as he jogged. Even in his disheveled haste, the elation in his face and pep in his clumsy steps revealed that he was just as excited about this day as Ava, if not more.
Grayson babbled in the happiest tone he could muster at the sight of his daddy, and I couldn’t help but smile right along with him.
“Good morning, buddy!” Spencer smiled, crouching to meet Grayson’s eye level and pinch his chubby, applesauce covered cheek.
The tiny gesture took me back to a time when Spencer’s cares and worries were much different. Back then, he would never have thought to voluntarily reach for the grubby face of an infant, no matter how cute. But, six years and two kids later, this was a beautiful reminder of how much we had both changed, and how lucky we were to grow together and not apart.
However, in true Spencer Reid fashion, as soon as he was done making silly faces at our son,  he padded over the sink to rid his hands of the sticky, grimy applesauce.
Everything may be different now, but some things never change.
As I packed Ava’s lunch, I felt his eyes on me from behind. Before I knew it, he lightly turned me away from my task and wrapped his arms completely around me, leaning down to rest his head on my shoulder.
“Thank you.” He softly whispered.
Forgetting the rush of the morning for a moment, I let myself sink into the embrace. For though our lives plowed forward at seemingly a million miles an hour, moments like these kept me grounded, sane.
“For what?” I asked.
“The extra sleep. The food. The babies. Everything.”
The case they returned from last night must have been a nasty one. Spencer was a very affectionate person, but something about this profession felt heavier.
Nevertheless, even after so many years, he still had the ability to make my heart skip a beat.
I pulled back from the hug to smile up at him, running my hands up his arms to get lost in his hair. His eyes reflected utter joy and gratitude, despite the fact that he had undoubtedly seen some horrifying things for the past few days.
“I love you so much.” The words flew out before I could stop them. Of course, I meant them with my whole heart, the phrase just seemed so mundane compared to my ever-growing, aching love for him.
The love in his eyes and sparkle in his smile told me he knew. He always knew.
He pressed a slow, firm kiss to my lips, hands coming to rest gently on my hips as we slowly swayed together.
“I love you too.” He whispered, and before I could fully savor it, the restless world started turning again.
Stealing moments with him would forever make my heart sing, but today needed to be about our sweet girl and nothing else. After all, according to her the first day of 1st grade marks the “beginning of the true educational journey.” Lord knows we couldn’t miss a second of that.
Spencer quickly walked over to the plate I had ready for him, setting it across from Ava at the table and kissing her head as he passed.
“Good morning, baby! Are you excited for your first day?”
Ava was silent. I felt the air in the room change as she put down her spoon and looked up at him, features completely serious. Somehow, I knew what was coming before she even opened her mouth, and Spencer was not going to like it.
“Daddy. I am not a baby.”
As expected, Spencer choked on the small piece of egg he had just attempted to swallow. In spite of the sad punch of the reality that my sweet girl was growing up, I nearly snorted, covering my mouth with my hand so as to not offend her.
Spencer looked absolutely dumbfounded.
“But, you are technically my baby-” He attempted to explain.
Ava was not having it. She took a deep breath, pushing her bowl of lucky charms aside so she could fold her hands in front of herself on the table.
“The term ‘baby’ is applied to infants from birth to the age of 1, and then sometimes to toddlers from ages 1 to 4. I am 6 now, daddy, so technically I have already let you get away with it for an extra year.”
Oh, my girl. What a little firecracker she was. No one in the entire world besides her could silence Dr. Spencer Reid with one sentence.
Spencer sat there at a loss for words, fork still in hand, clearly trying to formulate a coherent sentence.
“But…”
The school bus pulled up in front of our house with impeccable timing.
“Ava honey, the bus is here!” I gladly interrupted, shoving the lunchbox into her backpack and zipping it up.
Her poor father. I had never seen his jaw drop for so long before.
But, as always, there was no time to unpack in the current moment. That would have to be a later conversation.
Ava excitedly got down from the table, running to put her dishes in the sink before grabbing her backpack and putting it on with complete elation. I lifted Grayson from the highchair, quickly wiping off his applesauce-covered face with the ratty old t-shirt of Spencer’s I was wearing. By that time, Spencer had slightly snapped out of his trance in order to help Ava put on her sparkly converse shoes and matching coat.
The four of us were greeted by the autumn breeze as we stepped out onto the front porch. Spencer and I instinctively bent down to simultaneously kiss her cheeks, and she hugged our necks with the fervor of all the love in the world. She gave Grayson a small cheek kiss as well before turning away to start her new educational adventure.
“Have the best day, sweet girl!” I yelled after her as she sprinted down the driveway to the bus. She waved in reply. Though I couldn't have been prouder of her, I couldn’t help but notice the new missing piece of my heart that seemingly got on the school bus with her.
It was at that moment that I realized Spencer hadn’t said a single word since his baby proclaimed otherwise. He still looked like he had seen a ghost.
“You alright there, old man?” I playfully nudged him with my shoulder, bouncing Grayson on my hip.
“But she… she is my baby…”
I smiled, knowingly, trying to hide the small pain that struck my heart at the thought of Ava growing up. There were no words I could say that would calm his racing heart in the moment. So, I held our smallest baby a little bit tighter and leaned up to lightly brush my lips against Spencer’s.
“I know. Me too.”
