CHAPTER SIX: EMOTIONAL SUPPORT DOG
navi
"what do i wear?" you ask holding up two sweatshirts that nearly looked identical.
nobara huffs before responding, "please just pick one, they look the same babe"
"i can't! am i overthinking? i'm definitely overthinking". you decide to go with the sweatshirt you were holding in your right hand. nobara calls out to you from her room, "he's literally seen you at your worst!"
you assume that she's referring to when you first saw him, when you found out that he existed. that wasn't my worst moment i was cute for a girl in pajamas.
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦

✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
you and yuuji are almost to your destination, "you know you sounded like rapunzel asking to see the lanterns when you asked me to drive you"
"oh my god shut up i did not" you say in between giggles. he makes the final turn and there you are, yuta's house.
"oh you're just going to drop me off on the curb like i'm a whore" you say while unbuckling your seatbelt.
only his left hand is on the steering wheel and his head turns very slowly to look at you, "you want me to walk you to the door like i'm dropping you off for a playdate?"
"yeah kinda," you pause to open your door and hop out "it'd be rude if you didn't stop and say hi". the minute you heard him sigh, you knew you'd won.
you greeting yuta was a blur, you can't even remember what stupid shit you did because of your nerves. all you remember was a holy shit you muttered when you saw the entry way, to call it nice was an understatement.
currently, you were sitting criss crossed on the floor with yuta to the left of you. "so wait, you have all the games?"
"yeah! you could play the resident evil 4 remake since it's still kind of trending?" he stares at you and there's a short moment of silence before he continues, "only if you want to though, you'll have the controller, not me".
you give him a reassuring smile, "yeah that's fine! beware I am going to die though". he laughs and you swear its the cutest thing you've ever heard "it's okay, i can walk you through it" shutupshutup oh my god i'm going to scream.
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
"wait why are they jumping him. just make friends with them duh”
“yn, you have to fight back” the stress was very adamant in his tone. "i can't. i wasn't paying attention when they gave instructions. . ." you glance over to the chat to see a mix of yours and yuta's fans laughing at you.
he reaches over to grab the controller from your hands, but not without "accidentally" ghosting over both of your hands holding the controller.
you watched the screen and took an occasional glance at the stream. you figured you should probably figure out what buttons he's pressing, so you look down at his hands which were actually quite nice. no dirt under them, hang nails, or anything else, it almost made you forget why you looked over at them.
"there", he says while handing the controller back to you. "dude where the fuck did you go?" you'd ended up in a completely different spot from where you initially were. "hey, i put you on the right path. you ran like, too far from where you were actually supposed to be"
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
"okay guys! i think that's it for today my back is starting to hurt, and i'm sick of someone criticizing me" you're staring directly at the chat while you say this.
"i wasn't criticizing! i mean i was, but it was helpful" he continues, "this is our first time hanging out and you're already trying to get rid of me"
"whatever. anyways bye guys!" you say while ending the stream. you bring both hands up and behind your head to stretch
"i'm hungry, i think i'm going to text yuuji to come get me"
"you don't have to, i can take you back and stop and get something, if thats okay with you?"

My Favorite Games of 2023.
Hi. Hello. Thanks ever so much for clicking on this page. Happy to have you.
First thing's first: I'm a little freak when it comes to video games. I don't feel the need to beat most games I play. From Software is one of my favorite studios in the industry and I've never finished a single one of their games. This means, fortunately, that I get to play a LOT more games than the average bear.
I've written up some blurbs about my top ten favorite games from 2023, but before that here's the list of every game I remember playing this year that left any sort of lasting impact on me (in no particular order):
Dead Space Remake Resident Evil 4 Remake F-Zero 99 Humanity Dredge Metroid Prime Remastered Anemoiaplois Alan Wake 2 Baldur’s Gate 3 LoZ Tears of the Kingdom Counter Strike 2 Hunt Showdown El Paso Elsewhere Jusant Slay the Princess| Remnant II The Finals Street FIghter 6 Lethal Company BattleBit Remastered Don’t Scream Homebody The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog Pizza Tower World of Horror Super Mario Wonder Mr. Sun’s Hatbox Fifa 23 Sea of Stars (Demo) Half-Life (25th Anniversary Update)
And the games I played that were NOT released in 2023:
Unpacking Persona 4 Golden Picross 7 The Order 1886 Shovel Knight Dig Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Spider-Man: Miles Morales Pac-Man Championship Edition DX Project Zomboid Quake LoZ The Minish Cap Drill Dozer Wario Land 4 Pokemon Pinball Resident Evil Revelations Summer of ‘58 Trackmania TwinCop We Were Here Visage Cursed Halo CE Half-Life 2 (I probably play this once per year) Witch Hunt Red Dead Redemption 2 Cyberpunk 2077 Borderlands 3 Brutal Legend Cultic Slay the Spire PUBG Rez Infinite Batman Arkham City Alan Wake Alan Wake: American Nightmare Max Payne LoZ: Majora’s Mask 3DS Metroid Prime Metroid Prime 2 Tunic Everhood Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy VII Remake GOODBYE WORLD Yakuza: Like a Dragon Critters for Sale Dome Keeper Phasmophobia Hades Nintendo Switch Sports
Now that you understand the kind of freak you're dealing with…
Let's dive into my top ten favorite games from this objectively fucked up year.
10. El Paso Elsewhere Developed by Texas indie studio Strange Scaffold, El Paso Elsewhere is a Max Payne-clone with vampires, an opinionated narrator, and lots and lots of bullet time. As a small studio punching well above their weight class, Strange Scaffold leans into abstract, PlayStation 1 minimalism when it comes to visuals and pairs them with a soundtrack that will make your hands sweat. The vibes are here and they're ready for the end of the world. I'm personally also a big fan of everything this studio stands for.
Tumblr media
9. Mr. Sun's Hatbox I want you to imagine Metal Gear Solid V. Now I want you to imagine that game as a 2D, level-based, slapstick platformer you can play with up to three friends. If you think that sounds stupid, you'd be right. And it's beautiful. As you build up a secret army of soldiers with various skills (and disorders), you'll start to develop *favorites*. This game constantly asks if you're willing to send those favorites on a harrowing mission and risk losing them forever… or if you'd rather send an idiot you recently captured who blinks constantly and can't kill anyone without fainting.
Tumblr media
8. Dredge Every year I feel like I find one game that falls into the “just one more round” category, and baby… Dredge was it for 2023. As a weary fisherman in strange waters, you'll make the most out of your 12 measly hours of sunlight only for your daily voyages to inevitably pull you into the darkness of night, and night is when things get weird. Rocks emerge from the fog that you swear weren't there before, your equipment malfunctions, and you're pretty sure you just saw something in the water… something big. Despite only containing a small collection of islands, the world of Dredge manages to feel vast - perhaps vast enough to swallow you whole.
Tumblr media
7. Resident Evil 4 Remake I was curious to see what sort of changes would be made to the timeless classic and father of modern 3rd person shooters, Resident Evil 4. I wasn't let down. RE4 Remake takes all the things that didn't age well about the original, tossed them out, and replaced them with only good things. And MORE things! It's campy, fun, and better than a game of bingo.
Tumblr media
6. Jusant I really feel like this one didn't get the recognition it deserves. Jusant is a rock climbing game that combines the quiet contemplation of Journey with the mechanical specificity of Death Stranding. Unlike Death Standing, though, there is very little story to interrupt your flow. There are plenty of collectible bits to find for those curious to learn more about what happened before the events of the game, but the environmental storytelling does most of the heavy lifting. For me, the joy of the game comes from how it feels. Right trigger controls your right hand grip, and left trigger controls left hand grip. Plan your route, manage your stamina, and climb high above the clouds in search of answers.
Tumblr media
5. F-Zero 99 This. Shit. Slaps. I've never been a big F-Zero guy, but this MADE me one. The “battle royale”, 99 player format is the perfect fit for the ruthless, high octane world of the game. Races last about three minutes, and friend, they are the most intense, white-knuckled three minutes of your life. The decision to make your boost meter the same as your health meter started in F-Zero 64 (I believe), and it is so much more HARROWING in this game when another player could side-swipe you mere meters from the finish line and blow you to bits. Sadly it's only playable via Switch Online, but it made me cheer, laugh, and scream enough this year to earn a spot in my top 5.
Tumblr media
4. Alan Wake 2 Remedy makes weird games that also manage to exist in the AAA space and for that I will forever love them. Although Alan Wake 2 resembles a 3rd person shooter survival horror, I'd honestly say it's more of a narrative game than anything else. There's sidequests, there's puzzles, there's upgradeable skills, but at the end of the day the characters, world, and story are what kept me playing. If you haven't checked them out recently, you should definitely watch a story recap of the original games before diving into this sequel, but the wild swings for the fences this game takes are well worth that small price of admission. There's a god damn musical number, for Christ's sake.
Tumblr media
3. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom I've really got nothing to say about this game that most people don't already know. It's incredible. The fact that Nintendo made a game that redefined an entire genre and then made a SEQUEL to it that ups the ante is remarkable. To be honest, I've only cleared the Rito, Zora, and Goron cities. I got a bit tired of exploring the depths and guiding Koroks to their friends, but I can't deny the sheer level of complexity and polish on display here. I saw someone on TikTok build a functioning Mecha Godzilla in this game. Good God. I've heard that the ending of this game is one of the best in the franchise, and if I'd seen it this year then it may have wound up higher on my list, but for the time being I'll continue picking up this masterpiece from time to time, chipping away at it until the day comes that I can finally smack the tits off thicc Ganondorf.
Tumblr media
2. Half-Life (25th Anniversary Update) I know I'm gonna get shit for this, but I don't care. This year was the 25th anniversary of Half-Life and Valve released an update that made playing it (and it's online Death Match) much more accessible. I threw it on my Steam Deck out of curiosity, expecting to play for 20 minutes. I could not put it down. It is unbelievable how modern this game still feels. I simply had so much fun sprinting through the corridors of Black Mesa with a dozen weapons strapped to my back, blasting aliens and military Spec-Op chumps as a 24(?!) year old theoretical physicist.
Tumblr media
1. Baldur's Gate III This game is fucked up, man. The sheer amount of writing in this game scares me. We can all talk about how BIG this game is, it deserves it, but the thing BG3 does better than any other role playing game I have ever experienced is actually encourage roleplaying. I've played through Act I four times now, with four different groups of friends, and it has felt fresh every time. I have seen the same events play out in so many different ways that it boggles the mind, but in every one of those play sessions I see players asking themselves “What would my lil guy do here?” rather than "what is the best thing to do here?" The game rewards players constantly for just trying shit and the D&D 5e rule set means playing like the character you said you were from the start leads to frequent Points of Inspiration. Maybe one day I'll see the end of this story (probably not), but I don't have to in order to feel a connection with BG3's world, characters, and most impressively, the characters I made myself.
Tumblr media
Honorable Mentions for 2023
5. Dave the Diver 4. Homebody 3. Sea of Stars 2. Humanity 1. Super Mario Wonder
Top 5 Favorites NOT from 2023
5. Metroid Prime 4. Final Fantasy VII Remake 3. Cursed Halo (Halo CE Mod) 2. Red Dead Redemption 2 1. Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (3DS)

Hey there, are you new to the Resident Evil fandom and want to know more about this weird blond guy with the sunglasses? Maybe you only play Dead by Daylight and want to know what his deal is without having to comb through a 20+ game series for his appearances? Are you trying to write a fanfic and can't think of anything for him to say, outside of constantly proclaiming his right to godhood?
Then have I got the resources for you!
(don't trust the fan wikis. They do things like claim that a man with one of the most Irish surnames in the world is Italian, just because his parents have some implied organized crime connections)
Ok now that you're in here I will reveal that the real purpose of this post is to spread the good word of original flavor Wesker, who I think is a really interesting villain with more complexity than people might expect. It doesn't look like Capcom is ever going to remake code veronica, which has a significant portion of his story, and there's a ton of his lore locked in a rail shooter most people never played, so I'm here to help fill in some knowledge gaps.
To start off, here is Wesker's Report 1. This is Wesker himself summing up the first 3 games for you, with glorious footage of the original playstation graphics:
youtube
Don't panic it's actually only 22 minutes long, the rest is an untranslated interview with the game directors.
Bam boom, you know what Wesker was doing from 1998 through 2000. Now let's step back in time a little and talk RE 0, the prequel game that explains how the outbreak that started it all happened in the first place. This is the story of Wesker and his buddy Birkin's past mistakes coming back to haunt them with a zombie-leech army (the past mistake in this case is disposing of your mentor's body improperly):
youtube
Stepping even further back in time we have Wesker's Report 2, which talks about his early years at Umbrella. This was only ever released in Japan, but fans have done a translation and gotten it voice-acted. This video has both the report and a compilation of all Wesker's scenarios in Umbrella Chronicles (the rail shooter this-is-the-story-so-far game):
youtube
It's long because it includes the gameplay footage. If you just want to read the report instead, google project umbrella Wesker's Report 2. You can also find UC's cutscenes separately on youtube. Wesker's scenarios are Beginnings, Rebirth, and Dark Legacy. UC condensed a lot of stuff and made some…odd story changes (especially to RE 3. Poor, poor RE 3), but it also added fun new stuff for Wesker to do, like beating up his creepy masochistic ex-boss. Godspeed, Wesker.
Now rumor has it that we are going to get Ada's campaign added to RE 4 remake eventually, but we don't have it yet, so until then here's their interactions from the original (lovingly updated to HD by fans):
youtube
RE 5 was Wesker's last (chronologically) and probably most significant appearance in the series, not to mention the version of him that's been everywhere since, but I'm not actually going to talk about him. To my eyes, RE 5 Wesker is a fun villain in his own right, he just isn't Wesker. He feels like a completely different character to me. If you've watched these videos you might have noticed this already.
RE 5, if you wish to give the writers the benefit of the doubt, is a story of Wesker having a complete mental breakdown after finding out certain retcons truths about his past. He's not usually like that. For one thing, count how many times he mentions being a god in any of this footage. Go on. I'll wait.
Classic flavor Wesker is calm, cold, and calculating. He loves pitting enemies against each other and then running off with the spoils. He does very little grandstanding and he's not all that hammy. He's pragmatic to a fault, and a master at shifting his plans around to work on the fly. He also doesn't give a flying fuck about eugenics, or "saving the world", he's in it for power and money and building better monsters just because he can. There. I said it. I feel better for it.

#☆ sonic headcanons but video games!!
(a little simple and silly but they were fun to brain storm)
⋆。˚ ︶︶✩︶︶‌ ⋆。˚
Sonic!
- personally i think sonic would really like rhythm games, his favourites are project diva x and mega mix, as well as muse dash
- for rhythm games he of course enjoys playing the faster paced songs and starts off with hard, completely skipping normal
- but for party games he really likes to play splatoon with all of his friends
- he definitely gets competitive and likes to push straight through to the other teams base to ink
- but for two player games his favourite is for sure cuphead and he saves that game for whenever him and tails hang out
- sonic always plays as cuphead and tails always plays as mugman
- now taking a bit of a leap here, i think sonic would also really have fun playing fromsoft games, like elden ring and bloodborne (more so elden ring)
- for these games he likes to play them with shadow but they never get anything done because sonic is always messing with him and tricking him
————
Amy!
- she LOVES animal crossing and put lots of time and effort into making her island cute and pretty with her main theme being something along the lines of coquette for sure
- amy of course tries to convince everyone to play animal crossing as well so they can all see each others islands and decorate together
- she also likes to play rhythm games but is less worried about her score unlike sonic, and she actually enjoys the slow songs
- but if amy had the whole day to herself she could easily spend every hour of it playing the sims which seems to confuse everyone but she’s just having a blast
- she also really loves the legend of zelda games and adores zelda
————
Shadow!
- okay now i know that amy and sonic already like rhythm games but i think shadow would also really enjoy them
- he definitely challenges sonic to the harder songs and secretly enjoys playing with him, even if he might be a little bitter since his score was only 1% away from beating him
- but circling back to elden ring and bloodborne, he’s actually pretty damn good at those games. in elden ring he prefers a bleed build and in bloodborne he usually just sticks with the saw cleaver
- aaaand despite his gruff attitude he actually likes animal crossing so him and amy like to visit each others islands
- i also think he might enjoy a good story game like omori, dredge, night in the woods, far lone sails etc
————
Knuckles!
- he’s for sure someone who mainly plays fighter games like street fighters and constantly gets his friends to try and play with him in a 1v1
- same goes with smash bros of course, he really enjoys it and likes to play against sonic
- knuckles also has loads of fun playing any justdance game with his friends. he gets competitive for sure but somehow always manages to get 2nd or 3rd
- and much like amy if he had the whole day to himself he could easily play hours and hours of his favourite game, fallout 4
- he usually likes to join the brotherhood of steal for their power armour and such
————
Tails!
- tails loves the portal games and especially loves to play portal two with sonic and explain the puzzles
- he also likes to play legend of zelda of games but his favourite is for sure tears of the kingdom because he can invent all kinds of stuff
- once in a while he’ll replay undertale because he enjoys the jokes and story but he can only ever do the pacifist run, he’s very emotionally invested
- and on the days where he simply just wants to sit back and relax he’ll unwind with games like unpacking, a little to the left, some animal crossing and so on
————
Rouge!
- now she doesn’t play many games but one of her favourites i feel like would be resident evil 4, both the original and the remake (a big part of it is because she really loves ada)
- she’ll play animal crossing for amy but doesn’t invest too much time in decorating and what not, though she does love how cute the game is
- and meanwhile thanks to knuckles she’s gotten pretty good at smash bros and street fighter since she plays with him the most
- and last but not least she also likes to play fromsoft games with shadow but she’s definitely more chill while playing

after my previous reblog, i feel compelled to write a "short" post (love letter) about (to) this game
so for those of you who haven't played it, or never even heard of it, professor layton vs phoenix wright: ace attorney is a crossover game between the two franchises (you'll have guessed it from the title) and it is PAINFULLY underrated :,) (i also hear that it is now hard to get physical copies of this game at a decent price so i'm glad i kept mine)
essentially used to be my favourite game of all time before it got dethroned by the resident evil 4 remake (but i will forever remember it fondly). i remember my parents gifted it to me for easter back in 2014 (so i was around 12 back then) and i don't think they realised how much this would change me. like this is one of the reasons why i started thinking about studying law later LMAOO.
essentially layton and phoenix both end up helping this young girl, espella (i played it in french back then and her name is aria so their english names are a struggle for me) who is being hunted by witches and then put on trial in london for the assault of a ship's crew member. then the wildest thing happens and they get sucked into a book and are sent back to medieval times. yes it sounds insane. but in this small town called labyrinthia, witches are real, and so are witch trials (DOESN'T IT SOUND COOL AS FUCK??).
they've all forgotten who they are, though. phoenix doesn't remember being an attorney and layton doesn't remember anything either. they find espella again, and she's put on trial AGAIN, for witchcraft this time. the game alternates between the usual layton riddles and ace attorney's investigation/trial phases. the odds are high this time around, because those found guilty of witchcraft are shoved into a metal cage and plunged into a pit of fire. they're not messing around.
of course, it wouldn't be layton or ace attorney without a massive plot twist at the end. i'd argue this one is probably the most insane out of all layton games (it's even a bit far fetched tbh, but just saying, you do not see it coming) (okay it's even full of plot holes and i haven't revisited the ending in years but if i did, i think it would be detrimental to my mental health).
the art style is amazing - i'm in love with the later ace attorney art styles, starting from dual destinies and this game, and particularly the latest great ace attorney chronicles. here are a few of my favourite character designs from the game:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
but overall, one of the best things about the game has to be the soundtrack. it is the perfect mix of both franchises' music and it is a CRIME that neither level 5 nor capcom have released this on spotify (capcom i know you have all other AA soundtracks on this app. add this one. i am begging you). if you've never played an ace attorney game before, then you do not know the sheer adrenaline of phoenix shouting OBJECTION and the music speeding up. here's one of my favourite tracks:
youtube
tell me this doesn't make you immediately want to confess to 47 crimes you haven't committed.
it's kind of the perfect crossover game if you're into the genre, it's perfectly balanced between riddles and trials. the stakes are also a lot higher and there's actual executions. maybe i shouldn't have played this at the age of 12 actually - at some point (spoilers ahead), maya is wrongly executed and the scene will forever haunt me for some reason:
youtube
(go to 18:06 if the youtube timestamp doesn't work) i chose the french version of the cutscene because it's the one i played back then and i find that the french dub is a lot more compelling than the english one (somehow? the french haven't produced a good dub in decades so). also maya's screams are downright heartbreaking and the scene was traumatising asf when i was a kid
ANYWAY. please play this game, it's so much fun. for the AA enthusiasts, there's an edgeworth cameo at the very end. i very much fear that this game will be forgotten eventually, but it warms my heart to see that there are still people talking about it on the internet.

chapter one
road to hot hell
“Class hasn’t started, (y/n),” your fellow college classmate said to you. “And you’re studying.”
“That’s what college is for, doofus,” you said.
“Ugh, harsh words,” she said. “Classes haven’t started and you’re already cranky.”
“Well, what can I say, I love being cranky in the mornings. I should’ve taken classes at night. The only problem is, once it’s nighttime, either I’m sleeping in or being awake until the next day.”
While your fellow energetic classmate is talkative with vigor tone, you, on the other hand, is ready to go to sleep at any minute from every noise, even her loud talking. The class you took was unexpectedly large—filled with not ten, but twenty extra ladies, and less men, around eleven count, flooding into the empty seats.
All energetic as your fellow college classmate. This year, you wanted to major English. You dreamt of going to Europe one day. You hoped that English class will set a solid guide for you to speak a foreign language fluently. Moreover, having literature lessons and annotations and notes.
More knowledge means more dignified and independence and confidence individual.
“Here,” your fellow classmate said, handing you coffee—caramel fudge flavor with swirled whip cream and cinnamon-powdered sprinkles.
A faint scent of cinnamon rushed through your numbing nose.
“Thanks,” you said.
“Yeah, that was supposed to be my second cup, because I was up all night yesterday, because some people are being rowdy as fuck in the dorms while I was studying and annotating the stuff regarding to the lesson this professor taught—more like scolded. Have you done it?”
“Done what?”
Her eyes squinted. “The assignment?”
“Oh—uh, I was working late last night. You know, money does go into the wallet by itself.”
“That’s too bad,” she said. “But I heard that sometimes the professor forgets the assignment—that’s the best part.”
“Unless someone reminds her.”
With a certain sharp gaze, she said, “Who said that the professor is a she?”
“So it isn’t a girl?”
“No,” she said, turning her head over shoulder as she pointed towards the girls. “See those girls over there? Ones who are wearing annoying sticky lip gloss and those fake nails?”
“What about them?” you said, not looking, though knowing who she’s referring to.
“They’re here for a particular reason, (y/n),” she said. “To top if off, they aren’t here for an English lecture.”
“Gee,” is all you said, yawning. “I don’t care what they do and how they do with their lives. If they like to mess around, that’s not my issue. I’m not the police patrol.”
“While yes, we shouldn’t give a crap about them, maybe, pay attention closely to who I was referring to at the moment.”
At once, you shut the book of the college assignment. “Alright. Who are you talking about?”
Her finger lay atop of her lips, giving you a signal to lower your voice down.
“Those girls may act innocent and shit, but I’ve seen those people, and you haven’t.”
“Get straight to the point,” you said.
“Fine. They’re here for the professor.”
“So, is this teacher the best at giving the girls education.”
“That’s not it, (y/n). Rumor has it that this professor in English literature class isn’t the only thing he’s good at.”
“Then what’s he good at?”
The class boomed from the other side—the door came with a huge bang.
The group of girls talking at the very top of classroom stadium, and stalked back into their seats, where they could still gossip the drama and love lives.
Once the doors have been shut, heavy footsteps sank each time he walk. His hand clenched on a leathered folder, as his long legs strolled to the podium.
Behind you, you hear awes and ooohs, filled with fancy adoration and girlish giggles.
Furrowing your brows, you eyes studied him. Tall and grumpy.
Looks like someone’s having a bad day, too. Hooray for being cranky.
You sipped some sweetened coffee as you kept examining his features. Dark glossy hair, grey eyes, and his suit is professional. Almost.
He looked a bit messed up in the morning—probably in a rush.
His one button was a dead giveaway.
What could be the cause of that?
“Oh god, I saw the glimpse of his chest,” one girl behind you said.
“Yeah, I did the deed this morning just to get a good grade. But boy that man is fucking gorgeous in bed.”
Figures.
You didn’t pay much attention because while the professor is doing a lecture, you were studying for another class session. A bad idea. But, your way is important. At least for now.
“Miss (L/n),” his voice hardened.
A hand slapped you on the back, which ultimately made you jump and grouched at the person beside you before looking at the professor with close inspection.
His black mane frame his face, looking youngish as if he’s in the mid-twenties, but his tall and beefy stature underneath his suit made it all more manly and sophisticated, but sophistication wasn’t his nature. You figure he’s rather a casual-looking guy looking awkwardly trying to fit in with the professors in college. Rules are rules. Maintaining professionalism through appearance is important. If he’s wearing jeans at work, people would think he’s an unsuccessful guy.
But no one paid mind.
After all, according to the scar on his cornered lip, and his narrow eyes and fit body and deep voice, he’s the chick magnet.
“Are you paying attention to the question?”
Your mouth opened, then closed, given no proper answer to his grouchy mood.
“Does anyone know the answer?” The professor asked.
The girls behind you raised their hands, as one of the girls said, “Can’t believe that bitch is acting so stupid to the professor. Studying another subject while he’s teaching. Unbelievable.”
“Right? She should be ashamed of herself.”
“What a narcissist.”
You ignored their biased comments and went back to studying.
Lecture went on as the professor said, “the assignment is due until next week. In the meantime, use your time wisely on doing research and find more sources before typing an essay.”
The class dispersed and exited. Everyone was fast at going to an exit, discounting the countless admirers the professor has, you are packing it in a meticulous way—mainly because your eyes are glued to the page you were trying to study for the next class’s pop quiz.
The girls cooing and praising the professor.
What’s so special about him other than having a GQ model appearance?
You thought of calling the professor “Him” instead of his surname; you didn’t know what his surname is.
By the time you reached at the exit, you shortly looked back at him, where the girls bombarded him with multiple questions and conversations all at once.
Thank god this class hour is over.
And so you left.
🔥🔥🔥
“How did it go?” your friend asked.
You shut the door. “My love life or my college life?”
“Come on, you know what I mean.”
You shrugged. “I’m doing just fine.” Then you perched over the dining chair with a sloppy form.
“Tiring, huh?”
“Yeah. I couldn’t find a job for this week because I have to make an assignment for this stupid professor.”
“Professor?”
“You know, the one where the ladies are talking about.”
“The only ones I know is that either everyone loves Leonardo DiCaprio, or one of those new actors in this new film, or in a Korean drama.”
Sighing, your palm smacked over to the center of your face. “I was talking about the English lecture I have today. Mr. Uppity gets all mean when I wasn’t paying attention to him.”
“Do you recall his name?”
You waved it off. “Nah. Too busy studying for my own sake…my future.”
Your friend set the bowl full of soup in front of you. “Good thing you’re home now.”
“Yeah.”
Your friend beckoned. “Speaking of home, there’s someone who likes to see you.”
You turned and you saw your six-year old boy with a dark, long manes and grey eyes. “Mom!”
You rose from the seat in swift motion and ran towards him. “Daichi!” You hoisted your son in the air and gravitated him towards near you, pecking his black locks with your numerous kisses.
“How’s your day, my little boy?” Your hand scuffed his hair locks.
The boy’s lashes fluttered and his grey eyes twinkled with wonder. “I got candy from my teacher today. I behave, just like you said.”
“Good job!” You ruffled his hair. “I think we should go out and get some fast food. What do you say?”
The boy wiggled in your arms. “Awesome! Come on, let’s go, let’s go, let’s go!”
Giggling, you said, “Easy, there! We’ll go right away!”
Your friend smiled at the sight of you and your son.
“Let’s bring Auntie Emi with us.”
You looked at your friend.
“I’ll drive,” Emi said, grinning. “Only if he tells us.” Emi proceeded to tickle Daichi, making him wiggle harder than the first.
“After that, we’ll help you with the homework, okay? Your mom has to study and do assignments for the upcoming lecture.”
Daichi nodded, eyes still twinkling. “Okay!”
With an unexpected life comes with a blessing. The only problem is, without a stable finance, you’re set to a dooming failure.
🔥🔥🔥
At the fast food restaurant, you ordered the food for Daichi, and Emi’s food set on a large plate, she offered to share with you, though you spent your share pf money for your appetite. Although it’s vaguely small, but doable since you’re hungry since this morning, only drinking nothing but sweetened coffee.
“You okay there?” Emi asked.
“I’m fine, it’s just…having a rough time,” you replied. “If only there’s something I could do to make my son happier.”
“He’s already happy,” Emi objected.
“Yes, but the problem is…something has been missing in his life. I wish I could take it away and make it all better for him.”
Emi placed her hand atop of yours. “I’m sure things will work out. I’ll find you a job and see what’s going to happen next.”
“Easy for you to say,” you said, rolling your eyes. “If only things are simpler.”
“It will,” Emi promised.
Then you smiled to yourself.
I hope so.
“But for now, I have to fix my college life.”
Emi shrugged. “If you say so.”
“Mommy, mommy!” Daichi said, tugging your top.
Your eyes casted down on him. “Yes?”
“I want…”
“Yes…”
“When is Dad coming home?”
Your heart froze.
“I’m…I’m not sure, sweetheart,” you said, stroking his hair. “We’ll enjoy first, okay?”
His eyes went crestfallen. “Okay.” Before returning back to his meal.
If only you knew who the father is.

(shit post)
I'm just wondering what would it be like if a self-aware - obsessive - Leon Kennedy would come out in the game and appear right in front of your eyeballs
˚₊⋅─── /ᐠ - ˕ -マ ───⋅ ˚₊˚₊⋅─── /ᐠ - ˕ -マ ───⋅ ˚₊
As per usual, you logged into your gaming PC on a Saturday night with your midnight munchies prepared. You then sat down in your gaming chair and munched on some chips while clicking to launch Resident Evil 4 (Remake). After some time, you quickly began playing the game and having fun. You would always say "I'm sorry, Leon!" or you would even grumble about how slow Leon would occasionally reload his gun while you're in a fight. You had no idea, but Leon couldn't help but chuckle unknowingly at your remarks.
Could it be that he did it on purpose..? Who knows.
You always had this tendency to treat Leon like a real person when you played the game. You would worry every time he reached low hp. And not going to lie: He seemed to be enjoying it...
And obviously, you were unaware of his "self-awareness."
However, soon after, you switched to other games to occupy your time. After finishing Resident Evil, perhaps you could pass the time by playing some other games. But you were unaware that a particular person was experiencing a little bit of... Jealousy. You're spending so much time playing those other games that it's obvious you've forgotten about "him."
'How impolite', he thought...
╰┈➤ ❝ [Continue...]
One day, you were sitting in your gaming chair, prepared to strap yourself in and spend the rest of the weekend playing your "new" games. After logging into your computer, you use your cursor to choose which game to play while idly sipping your cola.
You ask yourself, "Hmm... What should I play today?" until a particular game attracts your attention.
You thought, "Yeah, I should play this." You drew your cursor to the game icon. But the game icon unexpectedly shifts everytime you attempt to click it. "What the hell..?" You thought.
Whenever your cursor attempts to click a game icon, the icons move, as if preventing you from playing the game. It was clear that you were both frustrated and perplexed at the same time. "What the hell is going on, is this some kind of virus?" You mutter to yourself in confusion. Similar to the other games, you couldn't click on them since if you tried, they would move on their own.
To determine what was wrong with your computer, you attempted to look into your settings. Confounded to learn nothing was wrong after your troubleshooting. There is no virus and no unfavorable findings whatsoever.
Not until a note suddenly appears on your screen that says, "It's useless, sweetheart."
You stare at it in perplexity, "Is this some sort of joke?" You mutter to yourself, and the note surprisingly continues, "No, it's not a joke."
Your jaw drops. What the fuck?
You gaze at the note in disbelief before it abruptly closes and all your remaining games start to disappear one by one. There wasn't much you could do considering how your computer was moving on its own. Soon after, you were staring at a blank desktop. Your background was wiped clean, and all of your games were deleted. Although... There was one game that wasn't gone and yeah, you're damn right.
Resident Evil 4 Remake.
All of a sudden, Resident Evil launches in your computer. The game loads until it reveals Leon Kennedy staring into your screen, and a hand resting under his chin. "Where's my TLC, sweetheart?" He mutters.
"Huh? What the fuck?" You raise a brow.
"I'm serious." He frowned.
"Is this a new update to resident evil where you can video call to certain characters?" You questioned, not to him - mostly to yourself. You still couldn't believe that you were talking to the REAL Leon Kennedy here.
"Sweetheart, listen to me..."
You're obviously ignoring him at this point as your thoughts are still racing with questions and hows. All you can think of is how to reinstall all the games that were just deleted, or perhaps if you take this to a computer shop, they might be able to fix it..?
Leon was starting to get fed up with your 'stubborn' attitude. The game suddenly shuts off with a loud glitch noise and so as the lights in your bedroom. The sudden events cause your eyes to slightly expand as you look around. An outage?
Nah bro.
Suddenly, you felt a hand touch your shoulder and then a whisper in your ear. "I've been feeling so lonely y/n... How could you ditch me out like that..?" A familiar voice came up behind you.
After a long period of silence. The lights came back on, Leon Kennedy could be seen standing behind you smirking triumphantly. You felt like an ant that might easily be stepped on due to his height advantage over you. He was waaayyyy much taller than you thought out to be. You instinctively move away from him and take a step back before giving him a quick once-over. His veins on his arms and biceps were identical to those in the game, and his muscles were incredibly well-defined. His gorgeous blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. His chiseled jaw and his tight attire effectively sculpted his six-pack against those fabric.
Holy hell, you'd be lying to yourself if you said you didn't like the sight in front of you right now. But this is not the moment to let yourself become captivated.
"Like what you see, sweetheart?" His voice sounded soothing and deep, mesmerizing even.
"Is this real..?"
"It's as real as it can get." His eyes narrowed.
He remained still for a while, watching your face as he observed it. You still gave off the impression that you were unable to believe what was happening, which is probably the case. In light of this, he made the decision to provide you with a proof. It's really the only option. He approaches you and invades your personal space before grabbing your hand and placing it on his masculine and veiny arms, running it along towards his biceps. The muscles made his skin feel soft and rigid at the same time. You begin to step backward as he draws in closer; you are pinned by the desk behind you, which is limiting your movement. He directs his unwavering gaze at you while you return the gaze with doubt.
"Oh, y/n... You always make me feel so special. Whenever you complain about me, or how much you get worried about me when I go low hp. Your voice, your face... so perfect." He starts to caress your cheeks softly and starts to press himself unto you, his arms wrapping your waist in a controlling manner.
"How did you get here..?"
"It's 2023. Who said fictional characters can't be real?" (It's a joke)
He leans back and sat on your gaming chair before pulling you to to his lap.
"Remember how you always say you want to play Resident Evil and how you're always so excited to play me? Well, now you can." He smirked.
"What?"
"What?" He smiles.
"..."
"I know damn well you knew what I meant by that."
You suddenly raised an alcohol spray in front of his face before tugging on the handle to spread the solution on his face. He rapidly backs away, coughing violently as he shakes his hand in the air, hoping to get the alcohol in the air disperse. He continues to cough, but after some time, he was able to collect himself. He lifts his head again to meet your gaze, with a frown this time.
"Y/n, what the hell?!"
"Stop being a creep. You're making the situation worse, I don't even know what the hell is going on at this point. Let alone a video game character flirting the fuck out of my ass." You frowned as well.
He couldn't help but make a low, seductive chuckle, "Not everything needs to make sense, y/n. Just enjoy the moment while I'm here. It's not all the time you get an opportunity like this."
Damn right.
He wasn't altogether off base with his statements, but they did make you pause for a second. After a short while, you make up your mind to speak but are quickly silenced by his finger as he leans in closer and looks intently at you from those blue eyes of his.
"Shh... Less talking, more actions." He whispers against your ear, his hot breath fanning your earlobe.
He leans in again, you can't move because he's pressing you against the desk. With admiration in his eyes, he leans in closer. Pink blush spreads across your face. Your favorite video game character becoming a real person, much alone being this close to you, made it seem as though time had frozen. This situation seemed so overwhelming that your mind felt like it would malfunction. Your surroundings and the sounds of the outside world were drowned out by Leon in front of you and the moment as his breath fanned across your lips and your eyes locked with his.
You thought you might pass out at any moment. You weren't accustomed to having a man this near to you. Your thinking suddenly became cloudy and your vision began to blur as soon as his lips got within a few inches of you. The world around you then abruptly fades to black, and your consciousness begins to drift away...
...
...
...
...
...
(Insert bird chirping sound effects...)
You lift your eyelids up and slowly awaken in your familiar bed. You sat up, groaning as you supported your grogginess by placing a hand over your forehead, before finally gathering your composure and scanning your bedroom. It was quiet and still, perhaps even peaceful. The silent hum of your air conditioner, the sounds of birds chirping outside, and the sunlight shining through your window.
Suddenly, you recall yourself having that weird dream over your favorite video game character coming to life. So it was just a dream...
"What a weird dream. I could tell my best friend about that."
Suddenly, you hear a low groan behind you, quickly turning around to find that Leon had been sleeping right by your side the entire time. On your tiny solo bed, his large figure occupies 80% of the space. With a blank look, you blinked at him.
"... or maybe not."
This day couldn't get any weirder...
After a few moments, he slowly opens his eyes as well. Gaining his composure before his ice pupils glance over to you who's been staring at him with bewilderment. He lets out a chuckle and smirked as he sits up, "Aww sweetheart, don't give me that look. You're not happy to see daddy?"
With those words, you couldn't help but shot him a strange look on your face before you finally sighed in defeat. So it wasn't a dream... In an effort to make sense of everything, you got out of bed. You paced around, thinking thoroughly over this whole situation, before walking past your mirror and unintentionally noticing something on you. You came back to the mirror to discover a... hickey? on your neck. Oh no.
You start to notice more, one on each of your shoulders, inner thighs, and finally, the middle of your chest... But one thing was certain: you were pissed. Your eyes slowly returned to the man sitting on the edge of your bed, whistling and gazing out the window as if he had done nothing wrong. You took your slippers and tossed them in his direction in a fit of rage. He swiftly catches your slipper effortlessly before it even has a chance to touch his face, demonstrating his experience as an agent. A chuckle escapes his lips, obviously amused by your reaction.
"Come on, sweetheart. You're always so angry at me," He makes a small pout, "I just gave you a small massage last night, nothing wrong with that."
"Nothing wrong!? This motherfu-" With a fit of rage, you quickly stomped your way towards him and glance down at his figure, "What the hell did you do to me while I was unconscious!?" Your rage was building as you leaned in closer to him.
Your eyes locked into his as you await for him to mutter something, anything.
"Kiss me, baby. You look so hot staring at me like that, it turns me on..."
"What the fu-"
Sighing and shaking your head in annoyance, you think, "This man is impossible." Your brows wrinkled as you looked at him while leaning back and standing upright. A sigh escapes your lips, rubbing your temples in frustration.
"How the hell am I supposed to explain this if my colleagues or friends saw this, huh?"
He rolls his eyes in response, "Just tell them you have a new, hot, masculine boyfriend who's always there for your needs." He snickered at you before he displays his height and dominance by standing up straight in front of you. He almost seems to want you to feel helpless and weak in his presence, but you definitely don't want to. I mean - you're not a hoe now, are you?🤨
"You might as well just get used to this, sweetheart. I won't let you get away and I'm not leaving your side either. We'll be staying together, as one." He says firmly as he looks down at you.
He's not entirely wrong. He appears unmoved by anything you say to him about leaving, and he also appears to be really interested in staying with you. Furthermore, who knows what he'll do if you let him go free? let alone a fictional character actually existing. That most certainly isn't normal. For some reason, you have the impression that he was your obligation or responsibility in some way. But since you're already here, you may as well accept what's going on and possibly make an effort to make sense of it as time goes on.
"Fine..." You mutter reluctantly,
"Excellent. I'll be looking forward to being under your care, sweetheart." He makes a faint smirk.

Thanks for the tag @ladylamrian. Here are my five games that I play.
On mobile I only have Choices.
Then five that I play on PlayStation
Primarily playing Resident Evil 4 remake at the moment. Also not long started Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga. I also enjoy playing Final Fantasy XV and Devil May Cry 5 because Dante. And for my fifth, I would have to pick Lego DC Supervillains (I enjoy my Lego games)
I want to give a special mention for The Evil Within which I have played about 30 minutes of and it is REALLY scary! May take a while to complete as I can only handle about 15 minutes a session it would seem before saving and changing to something else
This was really hard to choose just five! I have so many I have started but not played through fully.
Tagging: Anyone who wants to have a go!

Idk if Capcom were deliberately trying to make RE4R have at least some romantic undertone when it came to Leon/Ashley bc to me it's pretty obvious, there's a bunch of romantic imagery. Like a lot of the side characters reference it; Luis with his Prince Charming comment at that moment and calling Ash a princess (Dulcinea), Ada seeing that Leon actually cares for Ashley (calls her his "friend" at one point in a weird tone of voice), Ramon referring to them as knight in shining armor and princess and keeps taunting him when he loses her, the queen and king puzzle, the way Krauser taunts him and uses Leon's concern for her against him knowing the way to get to him is to mention Ashley, the merchant commenting if he's having a rough day after Ashley stabs him and runs away, Saddler using Ashley specifically to kill Leon knowing it would be torture for them both (he can read people's minds, right? So he knows), Ashley being so strong willed for resisting Saddler for trying to make her commit something she would never even think of and saving his life again when she jams the gun (yeah she prob didn't know that would happen but her unwillingness to shoot regardless of the mind control making her hand shake so much), Leon himself changing when getting to know Ashley and caring for her personally not for the mission he was forced into. He literally was ready to die for her even if it meant that she most likely wouldn't make it out w/o him. The way he carried her at the end!!! Like that's not just his professionalism and determination, there's devotion there and she shares the same sentiment. The way they ride off into the sunrise after "rain" starts pouring and they both smile at each other??? How is that not romantic imagery? If you saw that scene w/o context you would think they were the surviving couple of an action movie. There's more I'm missing bc I've been playing other games but there's a lot of evidence and context clues.
I mean, I absolutely believe that it was intentional on Capcom's part and the Leon and Ashley romance is actually, in fact, what the developers were going for. It would be absolutely batshit for this gigantic mountain of evidence to be an unintended coincidence. But I don't think that they went into it going, "Okay, this time around, we're going to have Leon and Ashley be The Canon Ship in RE."
What Capcom actually did was take Resident Evil 4 and turn it into a fairy tale. It was a really creative take on the game and was likely meant as appreciation for the fact that OG RE4 was such a major part of so many people's childhoods. (Ashley's line at the shooting gallery of "It reminds me of being a kid" plays into this, too, as a little tongue-in-cheek thing.)
So, as a self-contained story, yes, RE4make is a romance between Leon and Ashley. And that's where I think a huge portion of the fandom is getting tripped up on not being able to see it for what it is. They look at Leon and Ashley and go "okay, but this can't actually be the intention because we know xyz happens later in the series." That doesn't matter. That's not the point of what they did.
The point of it was to pay tribute to the way that so many people -- after coming into the series with RE4 OG in their adolescence -- thought of Leon as being a big, dreamy, hero-type character. So, they did that by actually turning him into one this time around who saves the day and gets the girl.
It doesn't mean that Capcom is committing to the actual ship, though. Just because this romantic storyline happened in RE4make doesn't mean that the next installment in the Remake series is going to confirm that Ashley is Leon's girlfriend or someshit. It is still entirely possible that we will never see Ashley Graham ever again.
As part of a greater whole, RE4make is just another stop along the horrible, winding road that is Leon Kennedy's shitty, shitty life. But, at least this time, he actually got to be the big damn hero for once.
