WIP DAY.
tagged by @girlbosselrond @morvaris @aartyom @risingsh0t @phillipsgraves @leviiackrman @indorilnerevarine & @denerims over the past month! sorry it's taken me so long to get to anything at all, i'm sure you guys have heard me address it enough, but thank you all so much for continuing to tag me in things while i've been inactive ♡
tagging @aelyosos @brujah @calenhads @florbelles @jendoe @lightwardens @liurnia @nokstella @nuclearstorms @shadowsofrose @shellibisshe @steelport @swordcoasts @wrymbloods @voerman & all of those who tagged me again cause i'm so behind + anyone else who'd like to share anything they're working on, not just writing! ♡
i haven't written anything since the last wip game i did, but i started trying to put diana's timeline together at the start of january, so i mean... i'll show that instead. as you can see, fatigue hasn't let me do much with it even though i've got all of her timeline already done and strewn about all over the place.
started with 1995 onwards cause it was originally going to be an ewskers timeline situation, but then wanted to include all of her backstory so i went back to the start and still have the late 80s and early 90s to get through before then, but yeah :]
it's going to include like all little moments i've thought of between the ewskers just for me and placing them on the timeline, so you can imagine how long this is going to get if i have to go to 2021 for village... like just 1996-1998 is going to be so much... she's very special to me if you couldn't tell already lmaoo
never sharing this though, it's just for me, and like will help for when i do her timeline page (more in-depth version of what's on her oc page) to just run through canon events and brief descriptions and whatnot. you understand.
everything is blurred out besides 1995 ewskers momence and the years, just cause like idk her i feel weird sharing her in-depth backstory unless it's in dms or something, just cause there's lots going on there and yeah. things. idk
Tumblr media
i also made a carrd for twt if you wanna have a look at that :] there's some cheeky subtle things with the two resi items i used as pics hehe
actually, you know what, i'll give a lil bit from where i left of with that rewrite anyways, even though it's been months since i wrote it. but why not
Wesker left a fleeting kiss behind her ear then reached around her and hooked his fingers beneath her coat, prompting Diana to glance back at him. But all he did was gently pull it from her shoulders. She watched him from out of the corner of her eye as he hung it up on the rack by the door, his movements careful and almost calculated, until he turned back towards her, and the warmth of his body returned once more. He pressed up against her side this time, as opposed to her back, and one of his hands found a home on her waist. The way the arm it belonged to was resting firmly against her as he began leading her towards the kitchen was comforting, secure, yet unmistakably possessive. And she revelled in it. He had quite the knack for handling her just the way she wanted.
#tag games.#keep going to do picrews and just zoning out 😭 i'm so behind on literally everything but it's fine it's okay (lying)#i'm having a day and a half even though i woke up feeling okay but oh well. my last month has just been like watching videos during the day#or playing games when i have a bit more energy but like i can't do anything that requires me to actually read or write things like words#are just not computing in my brain at the moment but it's okay like i'm just exhausted and hoping soon i can get back to writing because i#still have over 30 wips going lmao but yeah it's been a time a half with lots of appointments and seeing specialists again and trying to#sort things out. i've been more active on twitter which i've mentioned before but it's just because like it's easier for me to sort of just#like and rt things and not having to do my organisation tags and things like i know that sounds so just small and simple but that's how#i've been lately like to my brain rn that seems like a really big task. so i just keep coming on here randomly for a few minutes then#disappearing so i'm sorry that i've definitely missed so much and i haven't been around to just show my appreciation and love to your#creations!! also just everything that happened in december and then a bit at the start of january too like i'm just a lil paranoid about#being on here honestly so i'm trying to get back to it and be okay with posting again and i'm going to make a promise to myself to actually#filter more tags i think? just to help me with like not exposing myself to things that do make me feel uncomfortable in any way!! i'm#rambling now but sorry sometimes i just need to lmaooo idk but yes so cute lil subtle things from my carrd i wanna talk about cause why not#i didn't have to change the blue herb from re0 besides making it brighter because it's already teal toned which is so sexy but i shifted#the hue on the spade key like SLIGHTLY like it was so little. but anyways. i use this emoji ✨ on my twitter name and yes cause sparkles but#also. three stars. the s.t.a.r.s. badge and logo :] then blue herb because i will have no poison in my safe space!!!! take a blue herb or#leave please!! only good vibes and safe space here!! spade key because i'm ace <3 i was going to include the diamond one in there as well#because am demiro and like those are the symbols in the community. ace of spades for ace. diamond for demis (both orientations)#but wasn't sure how to weave the pink through the rest of the carrd even though cyan and pink together is so pretty omg

“...i wish you long life, happiness, prosperity, and may the vows you made to each other today sustain you forever.” the priest said, breaking the silence for a moment before continuing his speech, “you may kiss the bride.” he ends. and by the time they kissed, the crowd's cheer is erupting from everywhere. clearly happy to see them finally holding the new title of husband and wife.
an hour has passed right from the reception, and now they're gathering at the garden, celebrating their special day. and definitely, it's led by lando, who has been his friends for all this time and has witnessed ‘the ins and outs of their romance.’
the loud sound of a fork meeting a champagne glass as he gets up caught the attention of everyone there, including the married couple. waiting for whatever going to happen next.
“okay um, first of all i want to say my congratulations to this couple for the a hundredth times today,” he said, followed by some of the audience giggle at his speech. “but i just wanted to say that, "even though I haven't known you as long as hogan has known you, but i at least know the half part of your love story along with what i'm now saying is that your wife is right in mclaren's garage." he said while smiling, and he could also see oscar whose cheeks were starting to turn red and his smile was widening every time he spoke.
"i actually never thought that they would get married in the end, but is that more surprising than him winning the heart of mark webber's daughter? the only daughter of his own manager after having his first win.” he said with a surprised tone, making mark who is sitting right in front of him covering his face as the audience's laughter is started to come from here and there as soon as lando said that.
“but really, i've witnessed their love story since... probably since he's still a newcomer, a new driver for mclaren, i've seen it.” a burst of awws coming after that, “they are completing each other from each other's flaws, and for the rest of it were just history. and also... does their cuteness count?” he looked at mark and at the time he saw him nod, he finally said: “yes. cuteness from them does count.” he ends. “everybody, cheers to the happy couple. i pray that the both of you will always be happy.” he raised his glass before finally sipping its contents, earning a bunch of applause from the crowd.
the couple can't help but to kiss once again after his speech, mark and nicole can't help but to smiled at each other, and lando looking so proud of himself afterwards.
the surprise of course didn't just end there, but the night are still young, and there's still a lot to uncover right there.

she'll be the best you ever had if you let her
Tumblr media
r recovers from her injury. and realizes she may not be ask okay as she says she is with what Alexia did.
angst, fluff. hurt comfort. you know the drill :)
Recovering from a concussion was hard, even when you hadn't been in a coma because of it. You'd never before struggled this hard in the few days following an injury. You felt like your body was betraying you: you were constantly tired, and your brain felt like mush.
Alexia seemed determined to prove herself to you, waiting on you hand and foot. She could tell that, although you'd forgiven her, you were still hurt by what she'd done, still holding back from her, just a little.
The few days following your return from the hospital were pretty rough. You were bored, in pain, clingy, and irritable; all of which Alexia had to balance with going to training.
-----
On your 3rd day home, you woke up as you normally did, with your head aching, to the sound of Alexia's alarm. You groaned into your pillow, the noise making the pounding in your head worse.
"Buenos días bebita," Alexia called softly, after turning the alarm off, placing a hand on your back. You rolled on your side to look at her, cracking your eyes open only slightly. She rubbed your cheek gently, watching as your brow uncreased at her motions. "How are you feeling today?"
"Hurts." you responded, as was customary. She'd asked you the same question the past 2 mornings, and you'd given the same answer.
"I'm sorry, amor," she said, leaning forward to gently kiss your forehead. She'd been incredibly gentle with you since you'd come home, her touches featherlight. You leaned into her, wrapping your arms around her waist to tug her closer. She smiled against your forehead, hugging you back.
"When d'you have to go?" You mumbled, from your spot nestled against her chest.
"A half hour. I should get up now, and you should go back to sleep."
You lightly pecked her jaw, before rolling over and tucking your head back against your pillow, pulling the blankets up tight around your shoulders.
You drifted in and out as Alexia got ready to go, barely grunting out a goodbye when she tucked you in tighter, before telling you she was leaving.
Alexia was trying not to hover; she knew you hated that. She was so worried though, all the time. You were recovering well, but your head clearly still hurt, you had a hard time thinking straight, and you had to be careful about the dizzy spells you'd been experiencing. All of it was normal, and would improve as your concussion did; this, however, did not make you feel any better, or any less frustrated with yourself. As she left the house she hoped that you'd have a better day today.
-----
A better day did not seem to be in the cards for you. Once Alexia left, you couldn't fall back asleep, missing the warmth of her body snuggled up next to you. You were exhausted, but you tossed and turned for an hour, before giving up and slowly making your way downstairs. You ate something, before moving to the couch. You did fall back asleep there, but when you woke up, you were groggy, it had been hours, and Alexia was due home any minute.
You'd wanted to do something today. A load of laundry, or unload the dishwasher. You felt like you were slacking off, and you hated not doing things. More than that, you hated feeling too reliant on someone, and you didn't want Alexia to get annoyed with you for being useless. You didn't let yourself think about why you were so worried about that: you'd told Alexia you'd forgiven her, and you had. That didn't mean that it didn't still hurt, or still scare you.
You'd slept the entire half a day away, and you wouldn't have any time to do any of the things you'd wanted to. Still, you got up, thinking that you could maybe make Alexia a snack before she arrived. As you walked, a wave of dizziness hit you and you stumbled, before losing your footing and collapsing into the wall. You let yourself sink to the floor in the hallway, fighting back tears.
Everything was so hard, and you were so desperate to do something normal, just one time. But you couldn't even walk to the kitchen without ending up on the ground.
Keeping in tune with the days events, you heard the front door open, and the sound of your girlfriend entering the house. She softly called out for you, not wanting to wake you, but not seeing you on the couch. You took a deep breath before answering, knowing that she would freak out when she saw you on the ground.
"I'm here, Ale," you responded, and as Alexia made her way to you, she noted the dejection clear in your tone. Once she spotted you, though, all she felt was panic.
"Amor! What are you doing on the floor?" She said, all but running over to where you sat, leaned against the wall, chin resting on your knees.
"Got dizzy," you told her, trying to keep yourself together. Alexia already had to deal with the fallout of this stupid injury, she didn't need to deal with your chaotic emotions too.
"Did you fall? Did you hit your head?" She asked, worry filling every part of her being.
"No, I just kind of tripped. I didn't hit my head."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, Alexia, I think I would have noticed if I hit the part of my body that throbs at all times," you snapped, immediately regretting it when you saw the blonde's face fall. "Sorry," you said quietly.
"It's alright, y/n. Let's get you off the floor, okay?" Alexia responded, shaking off your apology. It made sense to her that you were frustrated, she couldn't blame you. "Can you walk?"
You tried to stand, feeling the dizziness come hurtling back, before you sunk back down to the ground, biting your lip as you shook your head.
If Alexia noticed your semi-emotional state, she elected to ignore it, instead easily lifting you off the ground and carrying you back to the couch. She placed you in the corner of the sectional, her favorite spot, and your heart melted, just a little, at the gesture.
You took in her appearance, freshly showered and dressed in comfy clothes. Her hair smelled like green tea oil, and the scent wafted into your nose, filling your body with warmth. Not saying a word, Alexia wiped away the tears that had fallen off your face with the pads of her thumbs, pulling the blanket you'd been using earlier over your legs almost absentmindedly. She patiently waited until the world stopped spinning before speaking again.
"Were you going to the kitchen?" she asked. "Did you want something from in there?"
"I was going to make you a snack," you mumbled back.
"Amor, you don't need to do that, you should be resting," Alexia scolded softly.
"All I do is rest. I just wanted to do something for you," you cried. Alexia was looking at you closely, seemingly confused at your desperate need to do something for her.
"Why?" she questioned.
"Because, Ale, you're doing too much for me. It's not fair. I'm not doing enou- anything in return." Alexia caught what you were going to say; you weren't doing enough. Things were starting to make more sense.
"I'm taking care of you," she replied, "that's my job as your girlfriend. Because I love you, and I care about you. You don't need to do anything in return for that, mi amor."
She paused, watching as you didn't reply, looking anywhere but at her.
"What's going on, niña bonita?"
"I don't want you to get tired taking care of me and break up with me again," you murmured, voice cracking slightly as pain spasmed across your face. Alexia felt her heart fall out of her chest.
"No, mi niña, no. I'm not going to get tired of you, ever."
You didn't look convinced. "Those days where we weren't together were awful, Ale, I don't think I could do that again,"
Alexia had never felt guiltier in her life. She scooted closer to you, turning your face to look at her. Her touch was soft, her gaze even softer.
"You won't ever have to do that again. I'm so sorry I put you through that, cariño. I promise, what I did had nothing to do with you, and everything to do with me. You are perfect. I could never get tired of you, and I am not going to break up with you again. Te prometo que." Alexia vowed, and you nodded your head once, leaning into her. She held you easily, kissing the top of your head repeatedly, thinking for a minute as you stayed silent.
"I know I messed up, and I know everything isn't going to be perfect right away, but I promise, I will prove to you that I'm here for good," Alexia said into your hair.
"I trust you," you told her, voice shaking slightly. "I'm just a little scared I guess."
"I know, amor. That's okay, you can be scared. I'll be right here, though, even when you're scared."
"Te amo mucho, Alexia," you said, sitting back to look into her eyes. You wanted her to know that you loved her and trusted her, even if you were still hurt from what she'd done.
If the watery eyes were any indication, she got the message. You only spoke spanish occasionally, when you were saying something you really wanted her to understand. You telling her that you loved her in her language was one of her favorite things.
She kissed you, then, harder than she'd dared to in days, yet still cupped your face with her hands like you were made of glass. You kissed her back, just as hard, ignoring the pain in your head. Sometimes, a little pain was worth it.

Awake
Tumblr media
Pairing: Simon Ghost Riley x Reader
Summary: Daisy won't fall asleep
a/n: I just slept 20 hours straight due to stress and anxiety, breaking my own record with that. My life is also in shambles right now, and I feel like shit because everything is stressful. Also, finals are coming up in a week and a half, which is just perfect timing. But do you all know what this means? You all get a one-shot from me because I always write either when I'm inspired or when I'm in a bad mood, and unfortunately, it's the latter. This one-shot is also extremely short, which I'm very sorry for, but it's been a while since I've written anything.
Tumblr media
It was dark outside and only the moon was the current source of light.
Simon had kissed your forehead and told you to go back to sleep when Daisy's cry woke you up.
You had done so much already and Simon wanted you to finally rest as you accepted and closed your eyes.
Now it was just him sitting in the dark in front of the window with Daisy in his arms as she finally calmed down from her crying fit.
Daisy's big doe eyes were still a little glassy and her chubby cheeks were red from crying, but for Simon this was still the most beautiful sight.
If someone had told him that one day he would hold his daughter in his arms and feel like everything was finally okay, Simon wouldn't have believed them for a second.
But that's where he is now. With his daughter in his arms and you sleeping in the bedroom.
"Still not sleepy?" Simon's gruff voice broke the silence as he looked down at her tiny frame that was currently snuggled in his big arms.
And even though Daisy couldn't answer, he knew that she definitely wasn't going to sleep now, as she babbled mindlessly while holding her dad's index finger, sometimes even trying to bite it, while the corners of Simon's lips lifted at the sight of her.
He leaned down and planted a kiss on her little forehead as she giggled at the sensation.
"You should sleep, little rascal," he whispered, trying his best to get her to sleep as he slowly rocked her in his arms, but it didn't seem to help as she let out another giggle, making Simon roll his eyes.
"Giggle all you want, you're still going to bed whether you like it or not," Daisy only cooed when she heard that.
Simon just shook his head as he continued to rock her, "Never change," he whispered softly as he looked out the window at the empty streets, hoping that all the memories he had made with you and Daisy would stay with him forever.

Ona x R
R is exhausted after a long day at work.
warnings: none
a/n: this took way longer than it should have, but I'm studying for my exams and I've read this so many times that English doesn't feel like a real language anymore. Anyways, enjoy!
-----
If there is something you hate is having to wake up early. Thankfully your work doesn’t require it unless something important comes up. You love waking up slowly, taking your time to admire your girlfriend’s sleeping form and the way she always looks so calm. You usually wake her up by leaving kisses all over her face and, once you’re sure she won’t fall asleep again, you cook a nice breakfast for the two of you while she gets ready for training.
Sadly for you today you haven’t been able to do any of those things. You slipped out of bed as soon as your alarm woke you up, so you wouldn’t disturb Ona. The hours passed slowly as all you have been able to think about is getting back to your bed and your girlfriend.
Having been awake since six in the morning, when you finally get home you’re more than a little exhausted.
Ona is by your side before you can even close the door.
“Hola, mi vida,” she greets you placing a soft kiss on your lips and opening her arms for you “How was your day?”
You can only grunt in response melting into her arms, not really in the mood to talk. Your girlfriend lets out a chuckle and just hugs you tighter.
“You smell nice,” you murmur burrowing your head on her neck to take a deep breath “I missed you.”
Ona laughs again and you can't help but smile at hearing your favourite sound “You saw me this morning.”
“Exactly. Way too long ago.”
Just when your eyes start to close she takes a step back from your embrace.
“What do you want to have for dinner today? Sushi?” your face lights up at the mention of your favourite food “Sushi it is.”
“Thank you, love. I’m gonna go take a shower.”
You take longer than usual in the bathroom since all the exhaustion from the day is starting to catch up to you, but you somehow manage to shower without falling asleep standing up. Once you’ve gotten into more comfortable clothes you walk over to the couch where your girlfriend is sitting playing with her phone.
You drop yourself on her lap and lay your face in her chest.
“Dinner should be here in ten minutes or so,” Ona says setting her phone down and beginning to run her hands up and down your back.
You hum happily and focus on the hard thump of her heart in your ear. With the feeling of her steady breaths underneath you, you feel yourself starting to drift off. You’re about to fall asleep when the sound of the doorbell rudely interrupts you, forcing your girlfriend to get up and you to try to wake up before eating.

Your mood unsurprisingly improves once you’ve gotten some proper food and drink in your stomach. Normally after dinner the two of you sit down to watch TV for a little while, but today you’re too tired to even concentrate.
You are ten minutes into the film when Ona speaks.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah, just tired,” you mumble trying to stay awake.
You frown when your girlfriend turns the TV off and gets up offering you a hand. “Let’s go to sleep then.”
Smiling at her, you take her hand and let her lead you to the bedroom. Once you’re both settled in bed she wraps her arms around your waist, bringing you closer to her.
“Te amo,” Ona whispers in your hair.
You lift your head from where you have buried it in her neck and blink a few times, trying to shake off the sleep a little bit so you can properly answer her.
“I love you too. G’night.”
Before resuming your previous position though, you take your girlfriend’s face in your hands and kiss her sweetly. It’s a pretty short kiss, you can barely see Ona’s face in the darkness and you’re already half asleep, but you are in bed after a really long day in the arms of the woman you love; you couldn’t have asked for anything better.
“Buenas noches, cariño.”

» Lee Heeseung «
His eyes shot open, his breathing ragged as sweat beaded his forehead. Fuck. He just had a wet dream. A dream a little to realistic. "Heeseung! Ahh" he could still hear your sweet moans ringing in his ears as you fucked yourself on his cock in his dream.
He closed his eyes and breathed in deeply, trying too ignore the aching between his legs. He already knew it; He was hard. He tried to ignore his erection, but the more he tried the more painful it felt.
He couldn't get off without you, even if he tried. He rolled around, gratefully finding you next to him, rolled on your side. His hands found your waist almost out of instinct, pushing you closer to his crotch.
The second your ass made contact with his clothed cock, he shamelessly started rocking his hips against you desperately for relief. "Y-Y/n" he whimpered out, hesitant but also wishing you just woke up and took care of him. "Y/n" he called out again, a little guilty for waking you up this late.
"Hee?" you asked softly, trying to turn around and face him.
"Yeah, baby it's me" he replies, biting his lips at your innocence.
"Everything oka-" you felt it.
"Y-yeah, I just need you" he admits, voice raspy with sleep.
"At 2:46 Am in the morning?" you asked, rubbing your eyes "No" you firmly added, unwrapping his hands from your hips and shutting down your eyes again.
He physically whines out and pouts "P-please baby, it hurts" he begs, though keeping his hands to himself.
"Nope, I don't feel like it tonight" you explain "stop being a horn dog and control your erections" you said, smiling to yourself and going back to sleep.
"You're so mean" he sighs to himself, accepting the fact that he got blue balled. :(
Tumblr media
» Park Jay «
Jay knew he had a busy schedule. Lately he's been coming home late and very horny. But, being the thoughtful person he was, even if he had a raging boner, he wouldn't want to wake you up very late at night just to relieve himself.
But today, he came home fairly early. Well, even if it was half past ten at night, he found you in the kitchen, still washing the plates from dinner. This was his chance.
He makes his way over to the counter, wrapping his hands around your waist - just to back-hug you.
"Hi baby~" he greets happy to be with you after a long day of work. You greet him back, turning your head around to give him a short kiss.
"How was work?" you ask him, your hands still busy with the dishes.
"It was okay" he starts off sighing "I was thinking about you most of the time" he admitted.
"Is that why you're trying to get your dick wet?" you ask bluntly, referring to the not-so-subtle movements of his hips against you.
"I- uhh, maybe?" he feels his cheeks heat up.
"Too bad, I'm on my period" and with that you dry up your hands, lay a kiss on his flushed cheeks and go get ready for bed, leaving him staring blankly in disbelief.
Sigh, guess he's gonna have to rub one out in the shower.
Tumblr media
» Sim Jake «
It was a lazy Friday and you and your sweet boyfriend Jake were one the couch, binge watching a random Netflix show. He was on one end of the couch, you were on another.
As the show went on, he felt himself getting more and more bored when he could be fucking you right then and there. You however, were very invested in the show, laughing at every little joke that Jake missed or paying close attention when he was just yawning and rubbing his eyes.
"Y/n, don't you think this is a little boring?" he asks all of a sudden, making you pout.
"You could've told me you weren't enjoying the show" you pouted.
"Yeah, I'd enjoy you much more" he smirked, flicking his eyebrows up and down.
"Oh" you simply say, shrugging your shoulders and resuming your show.
He stares at you in shock, expecting you to at least do something, but when you don't he makes his way to your end of the couch, burying his face in your tummy and holding your waist.
"Y/nnnn pleaseee" he begged, squeezing you harder, making you giggle "Need you"
"Nah uh, I'm not in the mood Jakey, sorry" you confirm, nevertheless stroking his hair.
He puffed out, getting up "I have to go to the bathroom" He announced, kissing your forehead and making his way to the bathroom.
At one point you turned off the television and decided to listen to his exaggerated moans as he jerked himself off, secretly laughing to yourself.
Tumblr media
» Park Sunghoon «
You jumped in shock when Sunghoon slid the shower curtain open, sliding in behind you.
"Hoon! Jesus you scared me" you sigh, sucking a breath in.
"Jesus, am I that scary" He jokes, tickling your sides, "Booooo!"
"Shut up dummy" you laugh, turning around to face him, pressing a chaste kiss to his lips. His hands rubbed all over your back, before landing on your ass, giving it a squeeze. "Perv" you roll your eyes playfully.
"You have a nice ass babe" he admits, giving it another squeeze to emphasize his point.
"So do you" you say, reaching for his ass and giving it a light slap.
"Heyyyy" he whines, swatting your hands away. You giggle at his blushing cheeks, pinching them. It's only when you realise why he's blushing after feeling his tip nudge your belly.
"Extra perv" you giggle, watching as he tries to defend himself.
"It's not my fault your ass is so soft" he blames you ass of growing him an erection, making you shrug your shoulders.
"Unlucky for you, I'm not a fan of shower sex" you say, sliding the curtain open and getting out, leaving him hanging with a raging boner. "B-but" he sighed when you he realised you were already out of the room.
He better have a good mental image of your nice ass cause he's gonna need it to get himself off.

Mornings. (Levi x reader)
::postwar!Levi/domestic!Levi, working reader::
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"...Lev?"
"..hm?"
He hummed softly. He had his head buried in your chest, arms wrapped around your stomach, his eyes closed.
You smiled a little at his sleepy voice, running your hands through his black hair, the soft threads tangling around my fingers, your nails scratching his undercut. You looked down at his peaceful face and almost considered shutting up, just to let him be in peace.
"You gotta let me go, you know. I have work to do."
"...its the fucking weekend, shut up."
"I have a paper and I have a deadline."
"Don't care."
His arms tightened around you, digging his face deeper.
"Come onnn," You squirmed against his hold, laughing. "I promise I'll be done quickly. The rest of the night, I'm totally yours."
"...mine?" He looked up through heavy lashes.
"Mhm. Let me go?"
He did. Groaning, he let you go and rolled over. "One of these days, I might just burn those damn papers down."
You sat up properly, swinging your legs over the bed. It felt surprisingly empty now that you didn't have him so close to your heart anymore. You leaned over to him to plant a soft kiss on his lips.
"Mhm, don't worry, you're still my number one."
Just as you were about to stand up though, arms snaked around your waist. And before you knew it, you were pulled back into the bed. His body embraced you, your legs caged between his.
"Hey–we talked about this—" You laughed, trying to escape his iron grip around your waist.
"Kiss." He mumbled against your neck.
"What? I gave you one."
He shook his head. His soft hair brushed my ears, sending tingles over me. "No, that wasn't a proper one."
"You're clingy"
"And you love me."
"That I do." You laughed.
"You also didn't say that after you woke up."
"I just did."
"No you didn't. You didn't say the words."
"Is that my crime? Is that why you imprisoned me?" You giggled as he pulled you closer to him, your back pressing against his front. He held you so hard you could barely move against him. You felt him nod.
You tried to turn around. "I say I love you to you like every 5 minutes the whole day."
"...thats not the same thing. Morning one's are special." He nuzzled his face in the crook of your neck. "It means you think of me when you wake up."
"Levi." You snorted. "I wake up right next to you everyday, how could I not?"
"...not the same thing." He mumbled.
"Okay, fine." You accepted defeat. "I love you. So so much. I'm sorry I forgot to tell you that. I'm sorry I didn't give you a proper kiss. I'm sorry. Yeah?"
"Hm." You felt his lips against your throat. Instinctively, your head tilts to give him more access. "Still not letting you go."
"Why not?" I apologized."
"Don't care. I'm more important than papers."
"Of course you are, but-"
"Shh." His hand covered your mouth. "I'll help you finish it, so just...stay with me."
You considered. He was too warm, felt too perfect against you for you to actually even try and struggle. You sighed.
"I'll hold you to it you know."
He only hummed.
"You know, you can't just hold me down whenever you feel like it." You turned around, pressing your forehead against his. "You're going to get me fired one of these days."
Levi exhaled.
"You're mine anyways. Everything about you." He peered at you through half-lidded eyes. "Mine, you said so."
"Yours." You confirmed.
Nobody else was even worth looking at when you had him like this.

dokyeom x male reader
kyeom takes care of his sick bf !
content : 1k words, fluff, idol!kyeom, kyeom calls reader pretty boy
( a/n ) this is literally MONTHS old im so sorry it took so long :( i changed it a little cause i was having a lot of trouble writing it for some reason but i hope you like it <3
Tumblr media
"kyeom, i can feel you staring."
"okay. and?"
y/n scowled quietly while opening his eyes. dokyeom was laying directly in front of him, just centimeters away.
"it's making me self conscious."
"but you're so perfect," dokyeom countered with a small pout. "looking at you makes me happy. my favorite boy."
"damn it," y/n muttered as he felt a blush creep onto his face. he quickly rolled over to the other side of his bed. "i hate you."
dokyeom simply laughed at his stubborness.
"you love me," he insisted while slipping his arms around y/n's waist, spooning him.
y/n smiled, still trying to hide it though. dokyeom nuzzled his face into his neck while planting tiny kisses against his skin.
"you're still burning up.." dokyeom mumbled. he could feel the heat radiating off of y/n's neck and face, making him even more worried.
"hm.. 'm fine, kyeom," y/n responded drowsily.
"are you sure you don't wanna just go to a doctor?"
"i hate doctors."
"baby," dokyeom quickly argued. y/n didn't need to look at him to know he was frowning - or probably just pouting. he sighed and turned back over to face him.
"if it doesnt pass after tomorrow then i'll go see one, okay?" he promised, leaving a short kiss on the other's forehead.
dokyeom smiled and nodded before catching the male's lips instead. he kissed him deeply, whispering a small "thank you" after pulling away.
"don't you need to leave for rehearsals with the guys?" y/n asked, looking up at him.
"no."
y/n blinked. "no?.."
"i'm staying here."
"what? no. you should go to work."
dokyeom shook his head. "i'm worried about you. i'm staying here."
"kyeom-"
"i already texted our manager. just let me take care of you."
y/n frowned, now seeing the concern in his boyfriend's eyes. he sighed and gave in before snuggling into dokyeom's chest.
"okay, baby. you can take care of me."
dokyeom finally smiled again and nodded his head in triumph.
"i'm sleepy," y/n mumbled into the other's slightly wrinkled shirt.
"then sleep, bub."
"mm.. will you sleep too?"
"i'm not really tired enough to nap, honestly. but i'll stay with you."
y/n felt his heart skip. he smiled and snuggled into him again, soon falling asleep in his arms.
Tumblr media
after sleeping for about an hour and a half, y/n woke up to hear soft humming coming from beside him. he looked up at his partner. dokyeom's eyes were closed peacefully as his phone played wave to earth on the bedside table. he was humming along quietly and running his hands along y/n's arms to the rhythm.
"your voice is so beautiful," y/n complimented.
dokyeom's eyes shot open. he looked down at the boy in his arms.
"did i wake you up??"
"kinda, but it's okay. i like waking up to this."
dokyeom frowned, "no, go back to sleep. i'll shut up."
y/n took the male's hand in his own and gave it a reassuring kiss.
"kyeom, it's okay. i'm hungry now anyways."
dokyeom looked at him for a moment, as if debating his fault.
"alright, i'll see what i can make us for dinner."
"i barely have any food here right now," y/n warned. "unless you want cup noodles for dinner."
"tsk. remind me to go grocery shopping for you tomorrow."
y/n rolled his eyes, "i like cup noodles."
"cup noodles are not a meal."
y/n scowled at such a response.
"'ooh look at me, i'm dk, i'm too good for cup noodles,'" y/n teased, waving his hands around in a mocking tone.
dokyeom squinted at him with fake hatred, "you're lucky you're sick right now."
y/n stuck his tongue out and sunk into the covers of his bed. dokyeom shook his head at him before finally exiting the bedroom.
sure enough, all he could find in y/n's kitchen were cup noodles. he sighed. he wished they could just go out for dinner, but he didn't wanna risk getting anyone sick. he settled on ordering in some food instead.
eventually, y/n got bored by himself. he slowly got out of bed and trudged out of his bedroom. he followed the sound of the music coming from dokyeom's phone, leading him onto his large balcony.
"what're you doing, love?" y/n asked.
dokyeom looked up in surprise as he adjusted one of y/n's small tables on top of some blankets he'd put on the balcony's floor.
"since we can't go out, i thought we'd have dinner outside at least. a home date," he explained. "the fresh air will be good for you and it's so nice out tonight."
y/n couldn't stop a smile from growing on his lips.
"that sounds amazing. thank you."
dokyeom nodded and gave his cheek a light kiss. y/n could tell that the other was proud of himself. dokyeom would never admit it, but he loved hearing approval and praise - especially from y/n.
once their food arrived, dokyeom set everything out and made them drinks. the balcony was the prettiest y/n had ever seen it. with his fairy lights lit and the blankets and a couple pillows brought out, it looked all cozy and warm.
dokyeom set their chopsticks out as a finishing touch before they finally sat down together. it smelled amazing and neither could wait to start eating.
after taking his first bite, y/n hummed in satisfaction. he smiled and closed his eyes, savoring the flavor in his mouth. dokyeom gazed over at him. he was completely in love.
"how do you still manage to look so perfect even when you're sick?"
y/n opened his eyes again and now saw his partner's eyes on him. he couldn't help but blush a little.
"your eyes are broken."
dokyeom's brows furrowed. he leaned forward, over the table and close to y/n's lips.
"my eyes are fine." he gave y/n another kiss, longer and deeper this time, "my pretty boy."
y/n then watched him pull away and go back to his food. he knew his ears and cheeks were probably turning red, while dokyeom just picked up his chopsticks and went right back to eating as if nothing happened.
"how-" y/n didn't know what to say. dokyeom looked back up at him.
"hm?" he hummed. the fake cluelessness on his face made y/n send him a small death glare.
"oh i hate you, lee seokmin."
dokyeom laughed endearingly at the remark, then simply smiled at him.
"you love me, baby."

Aegon Targaryen*Wrapping Presents
Modern!Aegon x reader
Christmas drabble
Tumblr media
Warnings: pure fluff
Masterlist here
"No you're doing it wrong!" You pouted as Aegon tried to wrap the gift for his brother. Keyword being tried. "You need to smooth the side out first,"
"like this?" He asked as he did it wrong again. All you had to do was look at it and he could tell it was wrong. Aegon huffed as he sulked back in his chair, "this is why I buy gift bags,"
"Gift bags are so clinical looking though," you said as you finished tying a bow on your present to Heleana, "this just screams Christmas," you grinned at him.
Aegon rolled his eyes but smiled as he stood up and kissed your forehead, "okay fine but I'm gonna get a drink then try again okay baby,"
"It's alright I can wrap them," you said as you took the paper off of Aemond's gift.
"No," Aegon said as he scooped the gift out of your hand and began to bring it to the kitchen with him, "God help me I will do it I swear," he declared making you laugh at his antics, "You want some hot cocoa?"
"Oh yes please!"
-
Aegon did kind of wrap the gifts okay. It could have been far worse at least but you were proud of him for trying and glad you didn't end up the designated wrapper upper. Christmas day came and you woke up to kisses being peppered down your face.
"It's too early," you tried to protest but it came out as more of a laugh.
"Cmon I let you sleep in till 9," he pouted as he moved to lay half on top of you as his arms wrapped around your waist, "I wanna do presents," he whined as you groaned, "I even made you coffee,"
"Coffee?" You asked, sitting up slightly, "where?"
"In the kitchen," he grinned making you groan again but finally you gave in and got up.
-
You ended up sat by the Christmas tree with Aegon after a quick breakfast in the kitchen. He had already put on the new hoodie you'd got him, which you were definitely going to steal from him, and was buzzing about the new gaming head phones you got him plus the sticker pack you got so he could decorate his laptop and pc with them.
"You're turn," he said as he reached under the tree. The night before he'd put your present under it but he refused to let you even be in the room when he did and made a makeshift blanket barricade around it so you couldn't see.
"Ta da," he grinned and you gasped slightly when you saw the first box, "did it all my self,"
"Aegon it's beautiful," what you hadn't known was after failing miserably at wrapping his families presents he stayed up all night doing yours.
The boxes were wrapped in a vintage Santa wrapping paper with a thick green ribbon wrapped perfectly around and tied into a neat bow. "You have no clue how long that took me," he laughed.
"Aww I feel bad opening it," you pouted.
"Cmon do it! Tear that bitch open," he said, doing a drum roll on his thighs as you tore into the perfectly wrapped gift to get an even more perfect gift from the most perfect boyfriend.

𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔
Tumblr media
Pairing: Eddie x GN!Reader
Summary: When you can't sleep, you go out hoping to clear your head. Instead you meet Wayne who decides to thank you.
Warnings: wayne is smoking, reader can't sleep (basically because of anxiety)
Tumblr media
When you woke up, it was around two in the morning and you were curled up next to Eddie, in his bed. His arm was softly wrapped around your waist, his grip had loosened when he had fell asleep some hours earlier but you loved the way he always had to touch you even when he wasn't awake and conscious.
You tried to go back to sleep for about twenty minutes but eventually, afraid that if you kept tossing and turning you would wake Eddie too, you got out of bed slowly moving his arm away from your body.
You grabbed one of Eddie's shirt that you found leaning on a chair and, before leaving the room, you couldn't resist and left a kiss on his cheek, gently moving a strand of hair from it.
You knew he was a heavy sleeper and wouldn't even feel it but every time you saw him sleeping peacefully, without nightmares and with his mouth slightly open you thought it was one of the most beautiful scenes you've ever witnessed in your entire life and just couldn't resist kissing him.
Finally, you walked out of Eddie's room and closed the door behind you quietly, crossed the short corridor, reached the kitchen and the front door and then exited the trailer hoping that the light wind of that night of summer would whisper a lullaby that would make you sleepy again.
When your gaze fell on the bench in front of the trailer you saw a figure who, sitting on top of it with their feet on the seat, was smoking a cigarette.
You slowly approached and as the person lifted their head in your direction and their gaze met yours, a slight smile appeared on your lips.
"What are you doing out so late, kid?" Wayne asked as you took a seat next to him.
"I just couldn't sleep." You explained.
"Mh. Are you okay?" He asked bringing the cigarette to his lips.
"Oh, yeah. Don't worry. Sometimes it happens that...there are too many thoughts in my head and I can't sleep but I'm fine. Really."
"You know Eddie doesn't mind if you wake him up when you can't sleep, right?" The man asked blowing out some smoke.
You chuckled. "He's too cute when he sleeps. I never could."
Wayne shook his head but there was a smile on his lips that yoi could see even in the dark of night. "Thank you, Y/N."
You gave him a confused expression. "What are you thanking me for?"
"Thank you for taking care of my boy. He's been through a lot, you know. People aren't the nicest, they just see him as an outcast, they call him "freak" and I know they treat him like trash at school even though Eddie never talks about it to me. But you're so kind and gentle with him. He needs kind and gentle, he deserves that. At the end of the day, he is just a kid. A kid that really needs to be loved after everything that has happened in his life.
I'm often not at home and working all day and I alway wonder if he's eating properly, if he's doing his homeworks, if he's washing his clothes, if he's fine. And then you come along and cook home-cooked dishes, help him with his homeworks, do his washing, keep him safe and make him fell loved. Because trust me, he really loves you." He paused briefly where he took one last drag on his cigarette, before putting it out against the wood of the bench.
"What I mean is…thank you for always being there for him. After what happened with his parents he's always scared that people around him will leave him. Hell, it took years for him to realize that I wouldn't abandon him too. But with you…he seems to trust you. He seems to know that you care and that you love him."
When Wayne finished speaking, the smile on your face was as impossible to hide as your teary eyes. "I do love him. Really, Eddie is the most important part of my life, you don't have to thank me, I-"
Your words were cut short as the trailer door opened again and a still half-asleep Eddie walked towards you.
His hair was messy and his curls fell over his eyes.
"Hey guys, are you having a party without me?" He asked jokingly, his voice slightly huskier than usual because he'd just woken up.
You giggled as he kissed your cheek and put his arm around your shoulders waiting for an answer with the same expression that a puppy has when he waits for food.
You moved a strand of hair away from his face so you could see those brown eyes you loved so much. "Nah, we were just talking. I couldn't sleep but found good company out here."
Wayne smiled at you.
Eddie looked at his uncle. "Do you mind if I steal her now? I'd like my girlfriend back, thank you."
He shrugged, chuckling. "Of course, I was thinking about going to bed too."
Eddie grabbed your hand as you walked back into the trailer after you said goodnight to Wayne.
Wayne watched you enter, Eddie was still holding your hand when he brought it to his lips to leave a kiss on the back of it, your kind gaze followed his movements and a soft smile never left your lips.
Finally, you closed the door behind you.
God, he was so glad his boy had you.

warnings: yandere behavior, some cursing, mentions of violence, manipulation, toxic relationships, mentions of blood
(also, wanted to run over one last warning/disclaimer/important note (??) but i just wanted to state for the record somewhere, that while consent might seem a bit dubious at times in this work, i want to make it clear that sexual consent will never be anything but absolutely clear. while, i don't plan on making any of my works very nsfw, things may be hinted towards at times. and though it's very clear that the relationships in this story are anything but healthy and people may be a bit grabby at times, consent will always be given. (and good, clear consent, not manipulated consent) just wanted to stick this in somewhere in case this is something that is triggering for you. if, and when, the reader sleeps with anyone in this work, they will do so fully consenting in their right mind.)

a/n: okay, okay, first thing, first. go up and read the additional warning up above if you skipped it and ended up here. just an important note i wanted to talk about before this chapter. if you're done there, then the next thing i want to say is that i apologize for all the eurovision references in this part. i started writing this part shortly after the competition this year and couldn't stop myself from adding them in. if you're interested in which songs they are, i'll add a link here at the end of this with the playlist i pretty much listened to the whole time writing this chapter and imagine mc's hype up playlist to be. other than that, i guess i just want to once more thank you all for your support and love. i'm always so blown away by you all and could never express just how thankful i am for you all. as always, i hope you enjoy. <33

─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
At first, you believed it to just be your anxiety getting the better of you, growing worse as Monday went on and crept closer to the time your ex-boyfriend would find the letter you left him. It wasn’t unnatural for you to feel sick when you were stressed, but it was never anything more than some mild nausea that passed once your nerves had settled. Not only did your nausea persist throughout the day and into the night, but it was slowly accompanied by a fever, uncontrollable chills, and terrible body aches.
The night was nothing short of a hazy, fever dream. You tossed and turned inside your bed, drifting in and out of sleep as your mind floated from one unfortunate series of events to the next, the dreams which haunted your head vivid enough for you to struggle determining them from reality.
When you finally woke up, you had been drenched in sweat and feeling much worse than you had the night before. Every single muscle in your body seemed to ache, and despite your body burning from the fever, you were terribly cold, shivering beneath the blankets you had piled over your body. Worse of all, your throat burned, but no matter how thirsty you felt, nothing stayed down for long. Even the smallest sip of water made your stomach roll, causing you to spend the majority of Tuesday wrapped up in a blanket on your bathroom floor.
Wednesday went no differently than Tuesday. At some point in the haze, you thought you might have heard a knock at your front door, but you didn’t have the strength to get up from your corner in the bathroom to go downstairs and check. Your phone buzzed shortly after when a call came through, but you weren’t able to reach for it in time to answer, lost in the mound of blankets surrounding you. When you finally found it, you saw that it had been Mingi who had called alongside a plethora of other messages you had missed in your semi-concurrent state over the past day and a half. You thought about answering the text message he had left alongside the missed call, wanting to tell him you were fine, but your stomach rolled, forcing you to drop everything and empty whatever was left in your stomach at this point.
“y/n?”
The sound surprised you, but not quite as much as when your eyes glanced up and found a familiar figure standing in the open doorway to your bathroom.
“Mingi?” If it wasn’t for how terrible you currently felt, you might have felt self-conscious of your current physical state, but you didn’t have the energy to do so. Your brain could barely wrap around the fact Mingi had come into your apartment, let alone what sort of implications it might have had.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to barge in.” He kept his distance from you when he spoke. “You weren’t answering your phone and I was worried, so when your door was unlocked...”
“No, it’s fine-” you began, but was cut off as a wave of nausea hit you once more.
Mingi was at your side in a heartbeat, fingers tickling the back of your neck as he pulled your hair out of the way for you. Somewhere inside your mind you were aware of the action. Of how close he was to you and how embarrassing the interaction was for you, but his touch was cool against your feverish skin and you did little more but lean into it when he reached out for your forehead once your stomach had settled.
“Sorry, I’m-“
“There’s nothing to apologize for.” His voice was soft, hands brushing back the sweaty strands of hair stuck against your forehead. “You’re burning up, so why don’t we get you back into bed, huh?” It wasn’t so much a question as it was a statement, hands already moving downwards to help lift your body. “Then I’ll get you some water as well as something to help deal with the nausea.”
You were too weak to argue, and far too out of it to feel embarrassed at the amount of support you needed from him to get back on your feet. He guided you the short distance over to your bed without complaint, maneuvering the blankets and pillows around to best support you. Once you were comfortably situated, he left you be for just a moment to go fetch the materials he had spoken of earlier.
It was hard to tell how long he was gone, having drifted off to sleep shortly after he left your side. You were only vaguely aware of someone gently shaking you awake later on, and helping you down whatever contents were in the bottle he brought. This time around, it went down with little resistance, cool and refreshing against your parched throat.
“Don’t worry, love,” Mingi’s voice was soft as he spoke, hand once again hovering over your forehead, “it’ll all be over soon.”
You weren’t sure when he left, or if he had ever even been there at all, drifting back to sleep shortly after. The dreams that followed were even stranger than the nights before, more vivid and intense than anything before, almost fully leading you to believe you had imagined Mingi being there. Everything about them felt real, down to the fingers that fluttered along your arms and legs, cool to the touch from the heat of your fever, and the lips that ghosted along after them. If you had been in your right mind, you might have been embarrassed by the contents, fully aware of just who your feverish mind had summoned into your head. But there was a strange sort of relief alongside them, and the liquid poured down your throat, fully satisfying the thirst that had consumed you earlier.
When you finally awoke late Thursday morning, you were surprised to discover your fever had finally started to ease. You didn’t feel fully back to normal yet, but you found yourself able to get around your room once more without the threat of passing out hovering over you. And for the first time in days, you were not only able to keep down the small snack you ate, but also stand long enough to take a shower and wash away the sweat and grime that had built up over the last few days.
You settled back into your bed after stepping out of the shower. You felt better than you had in days, no longer feeling as though you were on the verge of death, but the few actions you had done had still left you exhausted in your weakened state. You might have been on the road to recovery, but you would still have to take it easy over the next few days.
You took the time to check your phone, briefly running through the notifications that had flooded it over the past few days. The majority of them were from Felix, but there were a few from Hongjoong and the others, including Mingi, who’s message indicated that he had been in your apartment the day before. The realization left a pit forming in your stomach, fully embarrassed by the interaction now that you had the capacity to do so. You couldn’t remember exactly what had occurred, but what little snippets you gathered only served to leave you blushing and pushing back his message to deal with later, if at all.
Instead, you focused your attention towards Felix. He was at work for the afternoon, so you were unable to call him and let him know you had not been kidnapped and there was no reason to call the police, but you texted him a brief update on your status alongside a promise to call him later once he was free. Once he was taken care of, you had the others who had expressed concern in your absence to deal with. You quickly discovered there was at least one text from each of your new coworkers, littered with concern for your well-being and questions asking if there was anything they could do to help. Your cheeks once again tinted pink as you read through them, sinking further beneath your covers and opting to send a short update into the group chat to thank them and inform them you were feeling much better at the moment.
You spent the rest of the afternoon in bed, catching up on a few of the shows you had been watching before switching to a variety of random YouTube videos to pass the time. As much as you hated falling ill during the one week you had off from work, it was still nice to be able to rest and heal on your own time and without having to worry about missing work or anything else.
It was evening by the time Felix called you, FaceTiming you to ensure you were doing as well as you said. You moved downstairs to the kitchen to talk with him, eager to get out of bed after being in it for so long and settling down at the island counter to snack on some crackers as the two of you talked.
You had been speaking for almost half an hour when there was a knock at the door, silencing the giggle Felix had pulled out of you. Your lips twisted as you turned your head towards the sound out of reflex, unsure who exactly was at your door. You hadn’t been expecting anyone, but you were pretty sure you could easily narrow the culprit down to one of eight people.
“Something wrong, n/n?”
You shook your head, turning back to your phone propped up on the counter. “No, someone’s just at my door. Could you give me a second to see who it is and what they want?” That, you also had a relatively good idea for as well, nearly certain it was just one of your new neighbors coming to check up on you and see how you were doing.
Before you did, however, you couldn’t stop your eyes from flickering to the edge of your screen where your own reflection lied. You couldn’t stop another frown from crossing your face, acutely aware of how rough you looked at the moment. You had dressed purely for comfort and hadn’t done anything else with your hair after taking a shower, simply letting it air dry. And while you knew it didn’t matter, the visit was definitely not anything beyond friendly, you still felt your self-esteem dropping the slightest. While you had no issues with Felix seeing you in your current state - you had been friends for years and fully comfortable around him - you were nowhere near that level of comfort with anyone who lived here yet.
You straightened your hair as best you could before getting up from your seat to head over to the door, steadying yourself for just a few seconds when you got a little dizzy from getting up too quickly.
“Seonghwa, hi.” You remained half hidden behind the door when you opened it, surprised to see the senior property manager at your doorstep despite knowing it was likely him or one of the others.
“Hi,” Seonghwa returned your sentiment with a smile. “How are you feeling?”
“Well, considering I can now make it downstairs without passing out or throwing up, I’d say pretty good,” you joked, feeling oddly at ease in front of him. “I think I spent the majority of the past two days laying on the bathroom floor.”
“I’m glad you’re feeling better. We’ve all been worried about you, especially after the state Mingi found you in yesterday,” he replied, all but confirming your suspicions. Mingi had come over yesterday. “And I’m sorry about coming over unannounced, but I thought you might not be feeling up to cooking anything tonight, so I made you some soup.”
It took a minute for his words to process, and once they did, you struggled with a response. Seeing the thermos extended towards you left your stomach flipping; the kindness he was showing you making you freeze. It was one thing coming to check up on you, but this…
“Seonghwa.” Your arms crossed against your chest, fighting the strange urge to cry. After everything you had been through the past few days, the act of kindness hit you hard, not quite used to it. “Thank you.” You took the thermos from his hands, giving him a soft smile. “Do you want to come inside for a bit?”
“I’d like that.” Seonghwa nodded his appreciation, and you stepped out of the way to let him inside, closing the door behind him.
Your mind briefly traveled over to the comment Felix had made the other day, the one where he was certain no guy would go this much out of the way for someone they were just seeking friendship with. But he had been wrong, right? That couldn’t have been true when each of them treated you with such kindness. It was just the type of people they were, right?
You shook your head, finding the train of thought ridiculous. Of course they were just being friendly.
“It’s not much yet, sorry, but there’s a chair at the island you can sit at.” You made your way back over to the kitchen, setting the thermos on the counter and trying not to let your insecurity of yourself or your lack of furnishings get the better of you. “Just give me a second to wrap up my call with Felix and I’ll be free.”
You grabbed your phone from off the counter, unmuting yourself so you could let Felix know what had happened and finish your conversation. “Sorry about that, Lix.” You took the further barstool at the island, settling back down. Despite feeling much better than earlier, your head still spun from standing too long. “Seonghwa stopped by to bring me some dinner. Would you like to say hi?” You were quick to add to let Felix know you were no longer alone, not wanting him to say anything about the situation that might embarrass you further. Of course that didn’t mean Felix wouldn’t still say something, but it would lower the severity of the next words out of his mouth.
You were quick to notice the shift in Felix’s face, including the smirk that crossed his lips, but he refrained himself from whatever sarcastic remark you knew had just played through his mind. Hearing your conversation, Seonghwa approached you from behind, peering down at the screen in your hand from over your shoulder. You had a hard time resisting the shiver that ran down your spine as his hand came down to rest on the counter beside you. There was something different about him tonight that you couldn’t quite place, something that left your stomach fluttering. And had he always smelled this good before? A scent you couldn’t quite place, but had you unconsciously leaning back into him.
“Hi!” Felix waved to the man standing behind you, the very man you hoped didn’t notice the subtle smirk he had sent your way beforehand. The way his eyes shifted between the two of you made your stomach twist. “I’m Felix. It’s nice to finally have a face to one of the names n/n keeps mentioning.”
You had to bite your lower lip to keep the rebuttal at bay, inwardly twisting at the implication of Felix’s remark.
“All good things I hope,” Seonghwa chuckled, and was it just your imagination or had he moved in closer?
“Oh, no, it’s been nothing but terrible,” Felix replied, and you swiftly became aware of the mistake you had made in allowing the two to speak. “I mean, bringing her food, helping her unpack, checking up on her? What kind of person would do that?”
“Well, you can talk all about it tomorrow,” you interrupted their conversation as Seonghwa laughed behind you, hoping he didn’t see the pink tint on your cheeks in the lower image of the screen. “I should probably eat before the food gets cold, but I’ll see you tomorrow, Lix.”
Thankfully, Felix didn’t try to fight your attempt to get out of the awkward situation you had put yourself into. He simply nodded his agreement and stayed on long enough with you to finalize the plans for tomorrow before saying goodbye and returning the finger heart you gave him and ending the call.
“I’m sorry about Felix.” The room fell silent as your screen went dark. You became fully aware you were now alone with Seonghwa and though you hadn’t given Felix too much time to embarrass you, you still felt some need to fill the silence and apologizing for your friend was the first thing to pop inside your mind. “He can be a bit much at times.”
“It’s fine.” Seonghwa shook his head, pulling back from you when you made to move yourself. “He seems like a good friend. How long have you known each other?”
“Ummm, a little over three years now, I think.” You thought over the question for just a moment, the years had mixed together over time. “We met shortly after I had moved to the city and just sort of clicked almost immediately. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without him. He’s just about the only thing that’s kept me sane since then.”
You made to stand back up and grab yourself a bowl and utensils, but you must have gone a little too quickly as the motion left your head spinning once more. Seonghwa reacted quickly, hands wrapping around your waist to help steady you as you reached out for the counter in front of you for support.
“Are you okay?” His voice sounded close, too close. Close enough to where you could feel his breath tickling your ear.
“Yeah, just a little lightheaded is all.” Your breath hitched, overcome with the unnatural urge to close the distance between you. Your fingers tightened their grip on the counter in an attempt to steady them, lips parting momentarily as a newfound thirst overcame you.
It was now that Seonghwa’s familiar scent finally clicked in your head, reminding you of your ex-boyfriend. It wasn’t quite the same, but the overarching sweetness of it was something that had long since been imprinted in your memory and nearly sent you reeling.
“You should eat then,” his voice was soft, fingers digging momentarily into your waist before guiding you back down to the chair you had risen from. “The past few days have been rough on you and your body, so try and rest for now. I can get what you need.”
You nodded your head, sinking back down into your chair. He was right. Besides the little bit of food your stomach had been able to handle earlier, you hadn’t eaten anything in the last few days and were starting to feel the effects now that you had been getting up and about once more.
“I’m sorry.”
“For what?” Seonghwa looked back at you from the cabinet he was rummaging in.
“I don’t know.” His response caught you off guard, causing you to squirm in your seat. “I guess I just feel a little bit like I’m inconveniencing you. I mean, you’ve all helped me so much these past few days and I can’t help but feel a little guilty about it all. I don’t want to be a burden to you or make you think I’m trying to take advantage of you in any way.”
“Is that all?” Seonghwa’s head tilted and you had a hard time reading the intent behind his words as you meekly nodded your confirmation. Perhaps it wasn’t everything that plagued you, but it was all you were willing to divulge at the moment. “Then you don’t have anything to apologize for.” He waved your concern away, closing the cabinet door once he found what he was looking for. “Life gets crazy every once in a while and we just try and do what we can to help each other out. I’m sure if the roles were reversed, you’d do the exact same thing, right? After all, you helped little Junseo without even knowing him, didn’t you?”
“Well, yeah,“ You had forgotten about your interaction with Junseo on your first visit here. The act of helping him hadn’t even passed your mind since then. It had simply been the right thing to do, but this was different. You weren’t a defenseless little kid. You could take care of yourself. “but it’s-“
“y/n,” Seonghwa’s hand landed on your shoulder, giving it a small squeeze, “just let us take care of you, okay?”
Something about his expression resonated with you, leaving you with the sudden urge to do exactly what he said. Seonghwa wanted nothing more than to help you, to take care of you, so why were you trying to fight him on it? Why wouldn’t you just let him do it? What was the harm in it? You would both be happier in the long run.
“Okay.” You nodded, body relaxing at the smile your response pulled from him. God, he really was beautiful, wasn’t he?
“Now, please, eat.” He pushed a bowl of soup towards you, pulling you from the daze you had fallen into.
You picked up the spoon he had fetched for you, turning your gaze away. You had been staring again, hadn’t you? Had he noticed? Your eyes glanced back in his direction, using your hair to shield your gaze as best as you could. He must have. Why else would he be smirking right about now.
Shit.
“Shit.” You repeated the curse out loud, but this time out of pure shock after tasting the soup Seonghwa had brought for you. “Seonghwa, this is amazing!” And you weren’t lying. His soup tasted heavenly and you had to restrain yourself from eating it too quickly. The last thing you wanted was to throw it all back up, a thought that had you blushing once more remembering your interaction with Mingi the day before.
“Thank you.” Seonghwa’s chin came to rest against the palm of his hand as you continued to praise his cooking. Amusement overtook his features at your antics, but you weren’t paying enough attention to him at the moment to notice it. “I’m glad you enjoy it.”
This time you did notice it when you looked back up at him, causing you to swiftly look away once more. Your gaze went back down to the bowl in front of you, fiddling with the spoon while you inwardly cursed yourself. You could feel your appetite disappearing as your embarrassment took over, and you had to fight the urge to apologize once more. He would probably only call you out on it again, leaving you more flustered than you were already.
If he noticed or minded your discomfort, he didn’t show it, carrying on your conversation with an ease that would have left you jealous if you hadn’t been on the receiving end of it. He asked you about your interests, your hobbies, what family you had left, and everything in between. And though you might have felt slightly uncomfortable in the beginning, you felt more at ease around him as the night went on, especially once he made you a cup of tea.
You were struggling to keep your eyes open towards the end, but too enthralled in the moment to make any move to end it. There was something about him that was addicting, each easy smile and brush against your skin pulling you in deeper until his presence consumed your mind entirely. Never in your life had you wanted someone, needed someone, so completely and this desire left your head spinning.
Perhaps somewhere deep inside your mind, you were aware something wasn’t quite right, conscious of the hazy state of your brain and inability to think clearly. But it was impossible for you to fully grasp this thought as he helped you back upstairs. His arm was wrapped tightly around your waist, pulling you in close to him and making it impossible for you to not bury your face into him and let his scent consume you.
Fingers danced across your skin, lips trailing along the curve of your neck. For a split second, the bliss was overtaken by a searing pain at your neck, causing your body to tense as the haze was momentarily broken. You reached for the figure over you, attempting to push them off as your panic overwhelmed you, only for your movements to still seconds later as soft reassurances were ushered against your lips.
Everything was alright. Everything was just fine. You were safe here. Safe with him. He would take care of you. Give you everything you needed. All you had to do was let him.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
When Felix arrived at your apartment, he found you laying headfirst on top of your bed, the clothes you had been trying on previously discarded haphazardly around you. The music you had turned on in an attempt to hype yourself up for the night had taken a new turn as Luke Black’s voice echoed around the loft. The lyrics ‘I just want to sleep forever’ mirroring your own sentiment at the moment.
“Nothing to wear?” Felix was silent at first, and you turned your head over in his direction to find him leaning against the banister near the stairs, eyeing you with cool amusement.
I don’t think I’m gonna go anymore, Lix,” you replied before burying your head back into your pillow, causing your next words to muffle. “Just tell them I’m still not feeling well.” It wasn’t a complete lie. The nausea that had built up from your anxiety for tonight certainly made you feel sick at the moment.
“And why not?”
Whether he chose to ignore your second statement, or simply didn’t hear it from your position, you didn’t know, but his focus into your first statement made you sigh. In truth, you weren’t sure what had started it all. One moment you were pilfering through your closet in search of something to wear, dancing along to the music coming through your speakers, and the next you were curled up on top of your bed fighting the urge to break down. You supposed it had probably started with a stray thought, briefly wondering what your new friends would think of you in your first selection before your mind had cracked. Nothing worked after that, and you quickly began to pick out each and every insecurity the outfits you tried on would show.
As much as you hated yourself for it, you had a hard time holding back your attraction for each of the eight males who had entered your life within the past few weeks. Whether it was just natural or your body rebounding in an attempt to regain what you lost, you weren’t sure. But it didn’t matter. Not when you knew it would only lead to you setting yourself up for another heartbreak. Tonight’s intent was nothing more than friendly, an attempt to get to know you better and let you run wild and loosen up after your recent breakup. There was nothing romantic involved, none of them held an ounce of interest in you. And why would they? They were of a class way above you and it was unbelievably stupid for you to think anything otherwise. The sooner you wrapped your head around it, the better.
But you couldn’t. Your mind kept roaming to your time with Seonghwa the night before. All the two of you had done was talk, but it hadn’t stopped you from wondering, what if? And it clearly hadn’t stopped your mind from running wild in your sleep.
“Because I don’t have anything to wear.” You tossed the thoughts away, thankful your face was hidden from view. As much as you trusted Felix, you didn’t feel like talking about how much your last relationship had crushed you and how the lingering effects of it still haunted you to this day. That was a conversation that would only lead to you feeling worse than you did at the moment, so you left it buried inside for the moment, deciding to instead focus on the issue that had sprung this fit on you in the first place.
Felix hummed. “I’ll be the judge of that.”
He pushed himself off the edge of the banister to approach your bed, causing you to take a quick peak at him as he began rifling between the discarded articles of clothing. He had gone all out tonight, opting for an all black outfit. His shirt was form fitting, drawing attention to his toned chest while his pants had a looser, cargo fit to them. It was completed with the oversized jacket of his that you loved and a pair of bulky combat boots. The only hint of color in the whole ensemble was the hair he had just dyed a few shades closer to platinum and the neon purple graphic liner ordaining his eyes.
Your stomach dropped as you took him in, wondering why everyone in your life was so attractive. The only reason you could ever imagine any of them stayed around you was to make them feel better about themselves. You were only there as a confidence booster, so they wouldn’t be the ugly friend in the mix.
“What about this?” Felix asked, pulling up the pleated black skirt you had first pulled on nearly an hour ago. “You can wear it with that one-sleeved crop you have and then we can match.”
“I don’t know.” You frowned, knowing exactly which shirt he was talking about, but not quite feeling it in your current mindset. Not when it showed off so much of your figure, the very thing that had caused this spiral. “I tried it on earlier and I don’t think I’m feeling it tonight.”
“Well, what if I told you, you could wear my jacket over it?” His brow quirked and you had a hard time keeping your expression level as your eyes roamed over the jacket he was referring to. You did love that jacket. “That way you can cover up if you want to and take it off if you’re comfortable.”
“I don’t know-”
“I’ll do your liner too,” he added, pulling out a bag from one of his pockets and tossing it over to you.
Your lips twisted, having a hard time keeping a smile from forming as you took in Felix’s collection of neon eyeliner. “Fine, you have a deal, but,” you sighed, slowly picking yourself up into a seated position, “just help me make sure I don’t do anything crazy tonight, will you? I don’t want to make a fool of myself again or do anything I’ll regret in the morning.” Your mind trailed back to your first night here, still fully embarrassed by your actions that night. And though Hongjoong had told you, you hadn’t said or done anything, you couldn’t help but doubt him, almost fully convinced he had just told you that to spare you some embarrassment.
“You have my word.” Felix nodded, giving you a reassuring smile. “So, hurry up and go get dressed so I can finish your makeup. We’re running late.”
You pulled yourself out of bed, taking the skirt in Felix’s hand and pilfering around the rest of the scattered clothes for the top he had mentioned earlier. Once you had found both pieces, you made your way into the bathroom to change. While you felt slightly better after your conversation with Felix, you still couldn’t quite find your confidence back anymore. Your eyes still traveled across your figure in the mirror, wondering just what it was about you that was faulty? What was it that had made Jae seek comfort elsewhere? What was it that had driven him away?
“y/n?” You were distracted at the soft knock at the door, followed by Felix calling out to you. “You okay?”
You closed your eyes, taking a deep breath to help settle your nerves. Tonight was about having fun, letting loose and celebrating the fact you had finally gotten out of the toxic relationship you had begun to think you were truly stuck in. Now was not the time to let his lies get the better of you. You couldn’t let him continue to haunt your life after finally becoming free. You needed to let him go and move on, fully enjoying this new side of life you had craved for so long.
“Yeah, I’m good,” you replied, turning from the mirror and refusing to look at yourself any longer. Tonight was going to be fun. All you had to do was let yourself enjoy it for what it was: the beginning of new friendships and a new life altogether. “Just give me a second to do the rest of my makeup and then I’ll be ready.”
You didn’t spend too much time on it, deciding it best to keep your face fairly bare for the night. With Felix offering to do a fun graphic design on your eyes, you kept the rest of it light and neutral, not wanting to risk it running or smudging later on in the night.
“You know, Lix,” you began a few minutes later, sitting up on the bathroom counter for Felix to complete your look for you, “if you would have told me six months ago I would have fallen in love with a man with a bowl cut and a green bolero jacket, I would have called you crazy. And yet, here we are.” You did your best to keep your face still as he worked, but you couldn’t stop the giggle that followed your words. The current song blasting through your speakers was the direct inspiration for the color you had opted for tonight and your former sentiment. “I think my heart has quite literally been stolen away.”
Felix snickered, taking a step back to check your line and see if it needed to be touched up anywhere. “Kaarija does have a certain charm about him, doesn’t he?” he hummed, grabbing the green liner again to fix a spot he found on your left eye. “There, all done.”
He stepped back once more, taking a few moments to appreciate his work before having you turn around and see if for yourself. You couldn’t keep the smile off your face as you took in your appearance, the bright green of the liner bringing the attention straight to your eyes from your otherwise all black look.
“It looks great!” You admired the design for a few more seconds, once again envious of his superior makeup skills. Despite being the more artistic one between the two of you, his ability in this field far outweighed your own. “You’re the best, y’know?” You jumped down from the counter, taking just a moment to straighten your skirt back out and fix the edge of your collar that was digging into your neck. “Now, your jacket, please?” You turned back towards him, extending your hand for the article of clothing he had promised you earlier.
“In a moment.” Felix stopped you with his index finger, picking his phone up off the counter and waving it over at you. “Pictures first.”
You rolled your eyes, fighting the urge to argue with him. It wasn’t going to get you anywhere. When it came to pictures, Felix was worse than your mother had been growing up. Any attempt at fighting it would only lead to him taking pictures that would only serve to embarrass you later.
“C’mon, we have to record this momentous event,” he replied, taking quick note of your outward distaste for it. “Plus, I look good, you look good- No, I’m serious, y/n.” His hand reached for your shoulder, leaning down to match your height. “And I’m not saying that just because I’m your best friend or because I did an amazing job on your makeup. You look good. Really good. You’re not going to be lacking any dance partners or having to buy any drinks tonight-”
“Shut up.” You shove Felix away from you, trying to hide the smile and blush he pulled out of you. You didn’t believe his words, not truly, but the compliments still left your stomach fluttering.
Once Felix was satisfied, you demanded his jacket once more. This time he didn’t try to fight you on it, glady shrugging the piece off and handing it over to you. You took it greedily, feeling more confident than you had all night once the oversized fit of it helped to hide the shape of your body. It was still summer, and you knew it would quickly heat up once you got inside the club, but you figured you would be able to last until you had one or two drinks in you, letting the alcohol give you the courage you currently lacked without it.
“Y’know,” you began once you turned back to Felix, taking in his outfit with new appreciation. “You could make a pretty good Leon cosplay with that.”
“You think?” Felix turned back to the mirror beside you, considering your words as he looked over his outfit one last time, running a hand through his hair. “Hmm, you’re right. Maybe next con, then? You could always be Ashley.”
You shook your head. “If we’re going that route, I think I’d prefer Ada. Her dress in the new remake is very pretty.” Now that you were ready, you grabbed your phone back off the counter to let the others know you would be downstairs to meet them in just a few minutes.
Any confidence you had managed to build up in the last few minutes slowly faded away as you read through the few messages you had missed, wondering if you were really mentally ready for tonight. The nerves you had carefully locked away now returned in full force, leaving you itching to call out sick once more.
Why were they doing this? You fully understood Felix’s intentions when he had asked Hongjoong if they wanted to join you two, but why had he accepted the offer? Why had any of them accepted the offer? Felix hadn’t exactly been the most subtle about it when he had invited them, so why did they seem so enthused about going?
You didn’t understand it. You didn’t understand them. Why were they so nice to you? Why were they so friendly towards you? Always ready to help at a moment’s notice. You weren’t anything special. Nothing worth the attention they seemed so keen to give you. So, why? Why did they do it?
“You ready, n/n?” Felix asked, pulling your head from your phone as he gathered up the few possessions he had brought with him.
“Ready.” You nodded, quickly hitting send before pocketing your phone. You were hardly ready, but you doubted you would ever be ready to put yourself out there once more.
You took one last deep breath as you followed Felix down the hall, preparing yourself for the night’s events. Tonight was going to be fun. After all, in one way or another, it was all about you.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Your nails tapped against the back of your phone case, fighting the urge to turn it around and check it once more. There was nothing to check, no notification or reason to open it up and look, but the need to find something to occupy yourself and give your fidgeting hands something to do was overwhelming. You had already shuffled through the phone several times in your hand, opening the screen up only to turn it off moments later when you realized you had nothing to do.
The original intention had been to walk. The club was just a few streets down from your new apartment, but a steady rain had begun to fall, leaving you no choice but to make the short drive over there instead. You had thought it wouldn’t have been any big deal, but Felix had called shotgun the moment you had neared Mingi’s car - the wink that followed all but telling the intent behind it. The awkward conversation that followed left you offering to take the middle seat in the back, stuck between Yeosang and Jongho. You tried not to let it get to you, but your nerves were already high, and neither of the men beside you were particularly shy when it came to space. More pictures were taken, and though you couldn’t fathom why they wanted you in them too, you were squeezed in between them without a second thought. This combined with the looks Felix gave you in the rear view mirror while he chatted with Mingi only served to fuel your flustered state.
Though fall was right around the corner, it was warmer than you had expected to be, and it didn’t take long in your trip to start growing hot from the jacket you had borrowed for the night. The drive was supposed to be a few minutes, but the streets were riddled with traffic and you eventually found yourself shrugging out of it when you couldn’t stand the heat any longer.
Though you had passed by the Illusion on your way to and from your new apartment before, you had never seen it in full swing on the weekend before. Despite being highly exclusive, the line to get inside wrapped around the block, and you couldn’t help but wonder how long you would spend waiting outside in the rain and whether or not it would be worth it. Before you could voice your concern, however, Mingi had pulled the car to the side and Yeosang had pulled you out behind him, sharing his jacket with you to help shield you from the rain. Yeosang didn’t give the line a passing glance, guiding you towards the bouncer stationed at the front. He didn’t say a word as your group approached, letting you through with nothing more than a curious glance in your direction.
You barely had time to take in the interior of the club before a hand was at the base of your back. The contact made you jump, afraid of who had gotten close to you already, but when you turned your head, you found it was only San.
“This way.” His head tilted to the stairs at your left a few feet ahead of you before he used the grip he had on you to lead you towards them. There was another bouncer standing guard at the base, but he only gave San a small nod as you moved past him, making you wonder just what sort of connections Hongjoong had with the owner to have this sort of access.
It was quieter upstairs, and you quickly became aware of the difference in air up here. Though only a few people roamed the premises - all who weren’t even trying to be subtle in their assessment of your figure tucked next to San - it was clear they were all of a class far different than your own. The clothes, the jewelry, hell, the mere way they held themselves, made you instantly aware of the fact you didn’t belong here. The cheap material of your clothes stuck out like a sore thumb, and it took everything in you to not disappear from view.
San’s hand slipped further around your waist, fingers digging into your hip as he guided you past the bar and towards a private seating area back in the corner. It was set aside from the rest of the upstairs area, strategically set up between walls so it was given a bit of privacy from the other patrons milling about. A couch took up the majority of the space, looking out at the main floor beneath you. It was here that San dragged you to, pulling you down in the corner beside him.
“Seonghwa and Yunho are getting the first round.” Wooyoung plopped himself down in the empty spot next to you before you had a chance to create some distance between yourself and San, effectively enclosing you in between them for the time being.
“Oh, okay. Just let me know how much I owe each of you and I’ll-“
“Don’t worry about it,” San replied before you had a chance to finish. “It’s our treat.”
“But-“ You understood the attempt to cheer you up, but you also weren’t a charity case. You didn’t need their help with everything. You could pay for your own drinks.
“C’mon,” Wooyoung pouted, leaning in ever so closer to you. Just like Seonghwa from the night before and the two you had been trapped in between in the car earlier, he and San smelled good. There was a distinct difference to each of them, but the same undertones were there. Something distinctly sweet, effectively pulling you in. Your body subconsciously mirrored his movements, leaning further into him. “Won’t you let us buy you a few drinks?”
Your head nodded on its own accord, wondering why you had been opposed to it in the first place. There was no harm in letting them buy you a few drinks, now was there? Not when they were the ones offering.
You weren’t sure exactly what drink Yunho had gotten you when it was passed down your way, but you weren’t about to complain when it was free. All it took was one sip to realize there was nothing to worry about. Whatever fruity cocktail they had gotten you satiated a thirst you weren’t even aware of, causing you to down the contents far quicker than you should have.
Wooyoung was the first one to ask you to dance. You didn’t know exactly how to take the request, stomach fluttering as his head bent down towards your own. You wanted to, truly you did, but you didn’t think you had the confidence to do so. His intent was probably just friendly, but it couldn’t stop a wave of nerves from flooding through you at the idea. There was no way you could get that close to him without panicking, and if you panicked, god. That was a whole other disaster to contend with.
So, you did your best to politely decline his offer, saying you were fine sitting here for the time being. And was it just your imagination or did Wooyoung seem upset by your answer? You didn’t have too much time to contemplate the matter, your attention quickly stolen elsewhere when another drink was passed down to you.
You drank this one more slowly, already feeling the effects of the first one. For a brief moment, you thought something about it was a bit off, finding it strange to feel this tipsy after only one drink. You also wondered where Felix had gotten to, not seeing him in the sea of people around you and feeling a bit antsy by yourself, but both thoughts passed quickly when a question from Jongho pulled your attention to him and leaned further into San beside you.
He was also asking if you wanted to dance, but you shyly shook your head, giggling some excuse about not being very good and hoping your face wasn’t quite as red as it felt. All the while, you found yourself sinking even further into San’s grip, whose hand was trailing along the length of your thigh as you finished the rest of your second glass.
A part of you was somewhat aware of your current state, yelling at yourself to pick yourself back up and create some distance, but San’s other arm had crept around your waist and his presence was so warm and reassuring, you didn’t have the strength to do so. The way his fingers dug into the skin of your waist all but telling you everything was just fine.
“Are you sure you don’t want to dance, pretty?”
San’s question made you stop for just a second, wondering whether you did want to dance or not. You were pretty sure you did, but the thought made your stomach flip once more. He didn’t actually want to dance with you, did he? He was only asking to be nice. To be polite. Because who else in this place was going to want to?
So, then, what did it matter if you went with him? What did it matter if you embarrassed yourself in front of them? It wouldn’t change the outcome of the night?  So, maybe you should go out there and enjoy yourself.
“Hongjoong, darling, you didn’t tell me you were coming tonight.”
Whatever response you were going to give San fell away at the new voice, finding a woman alongside Mingi and Seonghwa as they made their way back from the bar. She was older than you by a few years and though her features were sharp, there was a certain poise about her that drew the attention of the room towards her. She held herself with a confidence foreign to you, made complete by the immaculate way she dressed, easily worth more than your entire wardrobe combined. Her attention was focused on Hongjoong a few people down from you, eyes barely passing over the rest of the group as she sat down next to him.
You didn’t catch Hongjoong’s reply, distracted by the drink that was passed your way once more. For just a moment, you were vaguely aware that no one else seemed to be having quite as many drinks as you, but the thought was gone as quickly as it came when you caught a whiff of the drink.
“y/n.” San attempted to pull your attention back to him, repeating the question he had asked before.
Your brow furrowed, eyes glancing over at the woman now sitting next to Hongjoong. You were distinctly aware of the way she was leaning into him and the way her nails traced along his arm. It left a pit beginning to grow inside your stomach, especially when her eyes caught hold of yours and a smirk appeared. And despite the attention you were getting from the others, you could feel your confidence waning, fully aware someone like her was miles above you.
“Sorry, will you excuse me for a moment?”
You set your half-empty drink on the table in front of you, pulling yourself out of San’s grasp. Getting up left your head spinning, and you stumbled across the floor. Where exactly you were heading, you weren’t sure. You just needed to get out of there for a second and clear your mind before your panic overtook you.
Coming here had been a terrible idea. You should have stayed home? Why hadn’t you stayed home? You weren’t ready, not yet. You knew something like this was bound to happen, so why had it bothered you so much? Because you had secretly held on to some hope that one of their actions had been more than friendly? Or because you had been reminded how beneath everyone you were? How it was stupid to think anyone would ever like you.
“Woah, careful there.”
Hands caught your stumbling form at the bottom of the stairs, steadying you. You looked up, the apology at the tip of your tongue disappearing when you saw the man that had caught you. His figure towered over you, dark eyes peeking out between strands of hair dyed a bright teal. And though the lower half of his face was covered by a black mask, you had a pretty good idea of the beauty that must have laid beneath.
“Well, aren’t you just something special?” His head tilted as he assessed your features, dark eyes running unabashedly along your features. Fingers brushed back the hair at your neck as he leaned further down, breathing you in. “Hmm, maybe I should have taken you when I had the chance.”
“Jiwoon,” the man’s head snapped up at the voice behind you, eyes widening momentarily at the hand that was suddenly at his throat, “what do you think you’re doing? Get your fucking hands off of her.”
Despite the venom lacing their words and the hand at his throat, Jiwoon seemed unperturbed. He simply eyed the figure behind you with cool amusement before pointedly stepping away from you and raising his hands to signify he had done what was asked of him to remove the grip they had on him
“There’s no need to get all worked up, Yeosang.” Jiwoon’s hands were quickly replaced by another as he replied, encircling your waist and bringing you back into him. You had a hard time focusing on his words, mind preoccupied by the familiar scent that surrounded you in that moment. “I was simply helping the poor girl. Seems like she’s had quite a bit to drink tonight.” His eyes focused back onto you, taking note of the way your head had buried itself into Yeosang’s neck.
Something had upset you earlier, hadn’t it? But what? You couldn’t quite remember what had dragged you away anymore.
“Consider yourself lucky I’m the one who came to fetch her. I don’t think some of the others would take as kindly to seeing your fangs that close to her neck.”
“Whatever you say.” Jiwoon shrugged, brushing past the two of you to head upstairs. “Unlike some of the other vermin in this city, I do know my place. You have nothing to fear from me.”
"Are you okay, pretty?" Yeosang tugged you out from him, inspecting the skin along your throat where Jiwoon's face had been. "As much as I hate to admit it, Jiwoon was right. You've had quite a bit to drink tonight and it's dangerous to be on your own in this state. Who knows who might try to take advantage of you."
"I'm sorry, I just..." Just what? You had left for some reason hadn't you, but what had that been? Why had you left so suddenly? You searched for the answer in your memory, but came up short.
"No one's judging you, sweetheart." Yeosang's eyes met yours once he was satisfied with his assessment. "You can drink all you want. Just make sure you stick with one of us, 'kay? Especially if you want to come down to dance." At your confirmation, his eyes briefly traveled to the area behind you. "Is that why you came down here, n/n? Do you want to dance?"
No, you didn't think so, but then again, you couldn't remember your reasoning for leaving anymore. Perhaps Yeosang was right. Perhaps that was why you had left. Perhaps you had wanted to come dance.
One look at Yeosang was all it took for confirmation, and you shyly nodded your head at his question. The smile your response pulled out of him left your heart fluttering, masking any former reservations you might have had for the act as he pulled you along after him.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
“She has no idea, does she?”
It took all Hongjoong’s will to look up from your figure on the floor below, having finally been able to coax you out to the dance floor after several drinks. He couldn’t understand your timid denial to their advances from the first half of the trip, unable to work out why you were so persistent to stay in the shadows when you could move like that.
Yeosang had been the first to pull you out there, a fact San was heavily upset over seeing how close he had been at getting you to agree and fully blamed him for. I had her, San had pouted when Yeosang had begun to gloat over his victory earlier, and then you just had to let that stupid witch get close to you.
Hongjoong hadn’t put much merit into his words, finding it nothing more than San grasping at straws when you had refused him, but he couldn’t wonder if perhaps there had been some merit to San’s words at the expression that crossed your face when he had stolen you from Yunho earlier. The hesitation and slight disbelief in your eyes as he pulled you in next to him did make him falter for a split second, feeling almost guilty for not doing anything about Yunjin’s obvious advances. You had left without explanation when Yunjin had appeared, after all. But the guilt only strayed for a second, quickly replaced by the satisfaction he felt at knowing he had that sort of hold over you, for knowing you were struggling to hold your attraction for him at bay.
He hadn’t gotten you for nearly as long as he had wanted, having you tugged away shortly after when San had come back for you. You were still currently tucked against his side at the moment, with Wooyoung pressed tightly on the other side of you. Though you had been nervous and flighty with the contact earlier in the night, your inhibitions had long since left you from the blood they had filled you with, and the sensual sway of your hips not only enticed the two men holding you, but anyone else who was watching.
And watching, they were.
The Illusion mainly catered to those nonhuman, and though the club had its fair share of humans that milled the premises on a given night for the right price, the majority of the patrons here tonight were fully aware of who he and his brothers were and did their best to keep their distance. This didn’t, however, keep their eyes from traveling to you, and though no one dared to approach you, their curiosity was impossible to contain. He didn’t mind. Quite the opposite really, taking full pleasure in knowing how they wished you would have been theirs. They were more than welcome to look all they wanted, just as long as they didn’t touch.
“No idea about what?” Hongjoong set his glass down, unable to quite stomach it. Despite having spent years collecting the highest quality blood, it all paled in comparison to your own now. And though you were one floor down and surrounded by a crowd of people, your blood still sung to him, all but begging for him to come and have another taste.
“I guess I can’t really blame you,” she sighed, swirling the contents of her drink. “From what I’ve been told, it’s all the more enticing when they’re kept in the dark.” Her eyes flickered downstairs to where her partner was currently entangled with Felix. Just like they had predicted, the blonde had caught the eyes of both Yunjin and Jiwoon the moment their group had stepped foot inside the club. Unfortunately for her, she wasn’t able to get in on the fun tonight and was left on her own. Felix’s eyes had only been for the blue haired man at her side. “But one of Maeve's children? How did you find her?”
“You tell us.” It was Yunho further down the couch who spoke, the first to broach the matter they had discovered earlier on in the night. “You’ve been dabbling with her blood for quite some time now, haven’t you?”
They had always wondered just where she was getting her supply, but they had never bothered to pry into her affairs that far before. Though they had had their differences in the past, they did trust her. But when Yunho had discovered a stock of you blood in her storage when he dropped off her most recent order of blood, however, they had all quickly begun to connect the dots together. Yunjin and Jiwoon had known you were in the city for years and yet, they had kept their mouths shut.
“I wasn’t aware that it was a crime.” Her expression remained neutral, but he could hear her heartbeat begin to flutter, scent increasing momentarily at the accusation.
“It’s not.” Yunjin had broken no laws in dabbling with the trade of your blood, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t frustrated with her on the matter. “I’m just disappointed you never told us about it.” He leaned back in his seat, eyes traveling once more to your figure. For a brief moment your eyes opened and caught his, and the smile that crossed your lips was the last straw. He motioned to Seonghwa next to him, who took off without needing any further instruction. “I thought we were friends.”
“Aren’t we though, Joongie, dear?” She shifted her body towards him, tracing a manicured hand along his shoulder. “After all, haven’t I always had your back in the past?” The nails traveled to the back of his neck, tracing along the edge of the tattoo peaking past his collar; the very tattoo she had etched upon his skin nearly two centuries ago and the very same tattoo she had given to the rest of them years later as his coven grew.
He didn’t bother removing her hand from him, instead taking the moment to grab hold of her chin and pull her face even closer to his own. “I won’t deny you’ve been a very loyal pet over the years, my darling, Yunjin.” He relished the way her lips twitched at the word, unable to fully mask her annoyance. Although he had always treated her as an equal in the past, they were very much aware just who was in charge. “And I always make sure to take care of my pets, now don’t I? Have I ever failed you yet?”
“No,” she hummed, trying hard to hide her frustration, “I suppose not.”
Movement caught the corner of his eye and he let her go as your figure tumbled into the room beside Seonghwa. His arm was wrapped tightly around your waist, keeping your stumbling figure upright. Though the alcohol content in your drinks had been light, the blood they had mixed into them had done you in, getting rid of your inhibitions and allowing you to act on your most primal needs when it came to them. It left you clinging to Seonghwa’s side, burying your head against his chest.
“y/n.” His voice was low as he called out to you, taking full pleasure in the shy smile that peaked its way out as you turned towards him. He extended his hand out towards you, beckoning you over to him. With Seonghwa’s help, you took it, collapsing down on top of him when he tugged you forward.
There was little resistance from you now, folding yourself up against him. “You smell nice, ‘Joong.” Your words mumbled against his neck, sending a jolt down his spine.
Despite hearing about the bond shared between vampires and your kind, he had no idea the true extent of it until he had finally felt it for himself. The pull had been strong before you had been tied to them, but it was something else altogether now. Everything about you had been fully designed with his kind in mind, lulling him to come and take you all for himself.
“Are you having fun, love?”
He brushed your hair out of the way, fingers trailing along the side of your neck. The shirt you had chosen for the night had covered it up in the beginning, but it hadn’t taken them long to fix that little problem. Yeosang had ripped the fabric away the moment you had allowed him to get in close to you, leaving the neckline torn and the shirt now ruined from the frayed ends of the collar.
And despite the numerous feedings done upon you tonight by each of them, the skin beneath his touch was smooth and unblemished. All it took was a few drops of their own to heal you right up, making it all the easier for them to pretend it had been nothing more than a dream.
“Mmhmm, but I think I might need another drink. I’m thirsty.”
He wasn’t surprised by your statement. None of them had done much to restrain themselves tonight, and though your kind’s blood replenished itself far faster than any human, you had been drained far more than you could keep up with on your own. That was where their blood came in once again, speeding up the process even more.
“Is that so?” His fingers dug into the hair at the base of your neck, pulling your head away from him momentarily. With his other hand, he quickly nicked the area of his skin where your mouth had just been. “Go on then.”
For a split second, your brow bunched up, taken back by the display. Even in your dazed state, this hadn’t been what you meant when you had asked for a drink and he could see the attempt your mind made to break through the haze they had created. But the panic was short lived with a gentle murmur of encouragement from himself. Your mouth collided with his throat, greedily lapping up the blood before his body healed the injury for him.
“She certainly is a pretty, little thing, isn’t she?” Jiwoon had appeared in the doorway, eyes shining as he took in your figure. Felix was no longer in sight and Hongjoong could only suppose the vampire had finally started to lose interest once he had gotten his fill of the boy tonight. He leaned down on the couch behind Yunjin, draping his arms around her shoulders and giving her a brief kiss on the cheek.
“And you would know, now wouldn’t you?” Yeosang growled, glaring at the man across the room. “You got quite the look at her earlier.”
“You did, did you?” This caught all of their attention, but Seonghwa was the first to speak.
“Can you blame me?” Jiwoon shrugged, unaffected by the accusation. “I’ve never seen one of Maeve’s descendants in person before. How ever did you manage it?”
“She came to us all on her own, no thanks to you two.” Seonghwa settled back into his seat, hand running down the length of your calf. Hongjoong could see the jealousy his oldest friend attempted to mask, but he didn’t feel any guilt towards having you at the moment. Seonghwa had had his fun with you all by himself the night before. “Waltzed right on in without the slightest idea of just what she had gotten herself into.”
“She just walked in?”
“Your old seller had no idea just what he held in his hands.” Hongjoong replied, relishing in the feel of your hands playing with the ends of his hair. Now that you were no longer quite as thirsty, you made yourself comfortable in his lap, resting after the time you had spent dancing. “If he had, he would have never let her run wild like he did. He would have kept her close and done everything he could to make sure she stayed.”
“I always knew he was nothing more than a child,” Yunjin murmured, eyeing your figure on top of him, “but I did think he had enough common sense to piece things together. But then again,” her smile returned, leaning back into her lover, “I was undercharging him quite a bit and he never said a word. Made an absolute fortune off of him.”
So that was why she had kept her mouth shut. The moment she let them know of your presence, she would have lost out on a fortune. And if there was one thing Yunjin cared more than anything, it was a golden opportunity to benefit herself. Jiwoon must have only gone along with it because they both knew what would have happened whenever they found out. The temptation must have been great, but he prized his life much more than having you at his side. He knew what would have happened if they found out he had bonded you to himself. Once the contract was in place, there was only one way to break it, after all.
“He’s dead, then?”
“Not yet.” He shook his head, careful in his movements now that your movements had stilled and your eyes had closed. He wasn’t surprised; they hadn’t particularly gone easy on your body or mind tonight. And though their blood helped in some ways, you had to have been drained. “We still have a use for him.”
In the beginning, Hongjoong hadn’t cared whether the man lived or died. Of course, in the end, he would die. He hadn’t been given permission to turn, and none of them felt any inclination to bend the rules for him, especially after discovering just how he had treated you over the past few years. So, they would leave him be for now. And then, once they had fully won you over and his use had been completed, they would get rid of him.
“…But, then how-“
“Their blood may have been exchanged, but she was never contractually bound to him. He had enough understanding to know how valuable her blood was and to make sure he fed her his blood, but was fucking clueless when it came to knowing just what he had in his hands.” Seonghwa sighed, leaning back in his seat now that he had no chance of stealing you away from him.
Hongjoong’s eyes trailed back down to your sleeping figure as the conversation turned towards business; Yunjin wondering whether or not she could count on them to keep her supply of your blood in stock. She had been right when she had said things were all the more thrilling when they didn’t know what exactly was going on, but ignorance would only work for so long on you. Whether it was a few months or a few years, eventually the truth would come out. And when it did, he didn’t doubt it would end up ugly. But no matter how much you fought or struggled, it didn’t matter. You were theirs now. Nothing you did could or would separate yourself from them now. They had made sure of it.

you could do a reader and jenna ortega (they are already together) where they had a fight and the reader is giving her the silent treatment
leave, then come back (jenna ortega/reader)
Tumblr media
summary: it's what's in on the request but i wanted something happy (i need to change that) but i hope it's good
warnings: fight angst angst and fluff at the end bc we need
She sat on the edge of the bed with her hands on her face, feeling her cheeks wet. it wasn't normal for you two get involved in such a big fight, just in small arguments common to couples.
This time, however, everything got even worse.
Jenna had said things she didn't mean, yelled at you when she lost her temper because you seemed so calm. She knew you just wanted to talk and go over certain things that really needed fixing, but with the stress of the day it all built up and she threw it all at you.
She knew that you were a person who didn't have a lot of patience and who would never endure screams in your face with your head down so she knew what awaited her. All that was left for her was try to make it up to you the best way.
"Y/n," Knocking on the door, she cracked it open and saw the dark room, the only light coming from the hallway. She knew you weren't sleeping. "Can we talk?"
For a second everything was silent and she held her breath, waiting patiently for something. A movement, a grunt, a scream. Anything. When she realized she wasn't going to get a response, she sighed and took the liberty of stepping inside, walking to the headboard.
She licked her lips which were extremely dry and cleared her throat. "I know I fucked up, I shouldn't have said those things," She said, hoping you would finally look at her. "I'm sorry." Came out in a whisper.
Again, you didn't react. Jenna felt her eyes sting again and rubbed her fingers across her eyes, deciding she wasn't going to give up until she got something out of you, even if it's a sigh. "It's okay. I can stay here all night."
She adjusted the large shirt to her body and sat down next to you, resting her hands on her knees and tapping her fingertips nervously. She said and would comply, would not leave there.
"You know, I love you. I know I never said this and now is probably the worst time to say that but I fucking love you." She licked her lips again. "And I know you're not someone who forgives easily but I hope sometime you do."
Silence. That was all she got. "I'm sorry." She whispered, lifting her hand to place on top of the one on your hip.
Your hand slowly moved away from hers, coming to rest underneath your head. Even though it was an act of rejection, Jenna saw it as a small sign, a painful one, but still a sign. "Y/n,"
"Go to sleep, Jenna." Came your voice, cold and flat, showing no emotion. She perked up.
"No." She said firmly. "I'll stay here all night if I have to."
You sighed irritably and sat up, finally looking at her and seeing her red cheeks, as well as her nose and swollen eyes. "Look, nothing is going to be solved overnight. You need to rest and so do I. Now, go to sleep." And so you went back to bed.
Jenna swallowed and pulled back the blankets, crawling into the space beside you and trying to get close to you but not really touching. She closed her eyes and listened for any complaints that could possibly come, but nothing happened. So she just lay there waiting for sleep to come.
"You know, that doesn't mean I've forgiven you."
She opened one eye and tried her best to look at you in the dark. "I don't expect you to do it yet."
The next morning, she awoke to a cold, empty bed and sleep quickly washed out of her body. She looked around worriedly, relaxing when she saw the bathroom door half open and heard the splash of shower water. Her heart slowed down the wild beats slowly.
"Hi." She said, low and shy when you left, not long after she woke up. You gave her a tight-lipped smile, trying not to make her any sadder. "Can we... can we have that talk now?"
A loud sigh escaped you. "I think we must."
Jenna nodded and got comfortable on the bed, waiting for you to sit down. You walked to the edge and stood there, looking straight ahead as you waited for her to speak.
"I did the wrong thing when I said all those things to you. I just... I was just so exhausted I exploded. And I know this doesn't justify anything, but..." She licked her lips. "I'm sorry."
You were silent for a while, pondering. What she said to you, how she said it, still burned in the back of your head and echoed in your ears. It was painful, it was going to hurt for awhile, but you didn't know what to do. Jenna was the one you loved and seeing her so sad and guilty and feeling like the worst person in the world was hurting you.
You closed your eyes and blindly reached between the sheets, squeezing her fingers as her hand held yours anxiously. "I'm not going to say it's okay, because it's not. But we have to work on it, and we will." Jenna quickly agreed.
"I didn't mean any of that. I love you, I could never hate you and..." She swallowed. "And you're not a horrible girlfriend, you're the best thing that ever happened to me."
A small smile appeared on your lips. "I know."
Jenna moved closer to you, leaning in slowly to give you time to pull away if you wanted to. When she realized you weren't going to, she placed her lips on yours softly, resting her forehead against yours after parting. She kept whispering "I love you"s, "I'm sorry"s, as if she stopped you would get up and leave.
She leaned against your chest as your hand went up to her hair, silently comforting her. There was a lot she had to work on, her words being one of them, but she wouldn't give up until she was the best person for you.
"I love you, Jen."
sorry for any mistake !!!

Wrong Number 6
one again i lied and we have probably a couple more parts after this
Morning came, and Steve had never been happy at the fact that his date wasn't lying next to him. He liked to imagine it now though, Eddie lying shirtless in bed, his curls strewn about the pillows. He wondered how far those tattoos went. He woke up around nine, but since Eddie said brunch, he let himself laze about for a bit before rolling out of bed. He had taken the soiled panties off last night, so he was bare from the waist down.
He grabbed a robe and wrapped it around himself, then went to the kitchen to start making something to eat. To his surprise, Eddie started the call. He picked up, smiling as Eddie's face filled the screen.
"Mornin' beautiful."
"Good morning. Sleep well?"
"I bet it would've been even better with you in bed", Eddie said.
Steve heard the familiar sound of a toaster popping something out. "And what are you making for brunch?"
"Pop Tarts", Eddie beamed, reaching over to put them on a plate. "And you?"
"Just a Hot Pocket", Steve said, half-honest.
"Aaaand?"
"....And some toast."
"What kind of bread, Steve?"
"...It's homemade milk bread."
"Aha! Culinare Extraordinaire strikes again!"
"Okay, but I made it days ago and it's just down to the nubbin and I thought I might as well go ahead and use it and-"
"The what?", Eddie interrupted.
"What?"
"Did you just call the end of the loaf the 'nubbin'?"
Steve's toast popped out and he began to butter it. "What do you call it?"
"What everyone else does: kiss bread."
"Alright, you gotta explain kiss bread to me", Steve said as he took his plate to the table.
Eddie was already seated with his food and some orange juice. "Because it-well the two ends...you know I don't know why, but that's what it's called. Not a nubbin."
"Well you can be wrong wherever you are. If you want to change my mind, you'll have to hop on a plane and come here."
"Speaking of...", Eddie started.
Steve raised a brow. "Are you ready to talk about it?"
"I think now is good. Last night my higher brain functions were, let's say preoccupied", Eddie smirked.
Steve crossed his legs, wondering how Eddie would feel if he knew he was currently bottomless. If he was here, what would he do? Probably feel him up under the table...God, it would break his and Robin's rule but he'd let Eddie take him right here in this kitchen if his actions were as good as his words last night.
"You still with me, Stevie?"
"Mmm, I'm thinking that I might need to invest in a few more pairs."
"Baby you could get me to commit murder with the right lingerie", Eddie admitted. The 'right' kind being any kind really. The panties had been a much appreciated surprise but anything that showed off his thick, hairy legs and that bulge would have seduced him thoroughly.
"Could I convince you to meet me somewhere? In person?", Steve asked, batting his lashes without meaning to.
"You can put those eyes of yours away, darlin'. I was already thinking of how we could meet. I really wanna see you. And touch you. All of you, not just your dick."
"Me too. So um, we could probably figure out a good, like middle ground?"
Eddie nodded and Steve was already running the numbers for taking a plane across the country and when he'd have a full weekend to do so when Eddie told him that he not only lived in the same state but in literally just the next town over.
"Eddie...are you telling me that you live thirty minutes away?"
"Steve, are you telling me that my town is thirty minutes away from yours?"
"Are you telling me I could've passed by you on the street?"
"There's a lot of telling-not-telling going on here", Eddie laughed.
"Looks like I won't need a plane ticket after all."
"Not unless you're gonna shell out for a crop duster. We could make it real dramatic", Eddie said. "Picture it. You step out of the plane in a suit and fedora. I'll be standing there, the wind blowing my coat as I run into your arms."
"Sounds romantic", Steve sighed.
"Well if it's romance you want, I might have an idea of where to go..."
While Steve and Eddie hashed out the details of their meeting, Robin came in, looking for pleased for just finishing a 'walk of shame'.
"Hey Robs. Good night with your date, I presume?", Steve smiled.
"Is that the infamous Robin?", Eddie asked.
"Is that the infamous Eddie?", Robin asked right back. She went to the coffeemaker to start brewing a pot.
"I'm told I have you to thank for Steve's outfit last night", Eddie smirked.
Robin stuck her tongue out at Steve in an 'I told you so' move. "You can thank me by not going into details."
"She doesn't like details?", Eddie asked Steve.
"Only when they're gross or embarrassing", Steve answered.
"Hmm, so she wouldn't wanna hear how gorgeous you looked while you were-"
"Lalalalalaaaa! I don't hear this!", Robin sang while waiting for the coffee to be done.
"Oh but I looove hearing it. Tell me more, Eddie. How good did I look when I-"
"LA. LA. LA! If you're gonna be gross, you make my coffee! I'm taking a shower!" Robin shouted her demand while covering her ears and rushing out of the kitchen.
"Don't we know how to clear a room?", Eddie grinned.
"Looks like we won't ever be strapped for alone time."
They talked some more and by noon, Steve had a date to Eddie's axe range next weekend. And damn if the week never felt so long. Even though he was getting more Eddie than ever. They still texted at least once a day, called every other day, and even started following each other on their socials. Steve even stalked the account of Bullseye Axe Throwing just to watch the couple of promo videos that had Eddie in them.
The night before their date, they were talking on the phone, too excited to sleep.
"I can't believe I'm actually going to see you tomorrow." Steve was lounging in bed, looking at his date outfit as it hung on his closet door.
"Me neither. I'm still not totally convinced you're not just some dream made up by AI."
"I don't know whether to be flattered or offended. AI images can be downright scary."
"Take it as a compliment", Eddie said. "I get more points when you like me."
"...And you're still okay with Robin coming?", Steve asked for what must be the third time.
Eddie understood her concern. Meeting someone could be risky, no matter how much you talked. And he was the one that invited Steve to a place filled with weapons. It wasn't the most traditional date spot but Eddie had always dreamed of bringing someone there and showing them how romantic axes could be. Maybe Steve was that someone.
"Baby, I don't mind. I already told you. I'd love to meet the person who has intimate knowledge of your underwear drawer."
Steve blushed. He and Eddie hadn't really done anything since their last date, besides a couple of suggestive texts. He was sure that on Saturday night, all Eddie would have to do is shake his hand and he'd crumble.
"You know if you're good, you'll get to see it all first hand", Steve reminded him, his voice low now.
"Oh I can be good. You know I can be good."
Steve knew very well. So well that he'd touched himself to the idea this past week and after saying so to Eddie, Eddie had admitted the same.
"You shoulda called me, baby", he had said. "We could've coordinated our horniness."
Suffice to say, the anticipation for their first in real life meeting was thicker than a souffle pancake. When Saturday morning came, Steve felt like he was going to throw up. What if Eddie saw him and decided he didn't like him? They'd only seen each other through screens and Steve tried to only let his best angles be seen.
What if he didn't like....what if he didn't like his ears? Or his elbows? Or something else Steve had never even though of? What if he said the wrong thing and wasn't interesting enough?
"I can tell you're spiraling", Robin said from the couch where she was eating cereal and watching the news.
"Eddie is-"
"Just a man. A man who would be lucky to have you."
"Lucky to have me. Eddie would be lucky to have me", Steve repeated like a mantra, then sat next to Robin.
"You're a catch."
"I'm a catch."
"With an ass that won't quit."
"My ass has never taken a day off", Steve nodded to himself. "Okay. I'm good. Any cereal left?"
"Only the health stuff."
"Why do we buy that again?"
"So we can live long enough to grow old in the same retirement home", Robin reminded him.
Steve smiled. She really was his forever girl. And tonight she'd be going with him with what could be his romantic soulmate. No pressure? No pressure.

Aaron Hotchner X Autistic Daughter Reader
I was hoping to request one with Aaron Hotchner's daughter, she's about 3-4 and she's autistic, Aaron took her to work because she's sick one day
I love this idea
Third person pov...
After two weeks of being away on a case Hotch is happy to be in his own bed in his home knowing his children are safe and only a few doors down from him instead of being in another state.
Currently it was 4:30am, Hotches alarm wouldn't go off for another hour and a half. The man was dead asleep under his covers, then his doors opens slightly and in pops a little H/C head.
It was Y/N Hotches daughter, the 3 year old sniffles slightly before walking into the dark room, she hugs her stuffed bunny tighter as she walks in.
She looks at the bed and walks over silently, once she got closer to the figure she shook her daddy's shoulder, Hotch didn't wake up, sniffling again the little girl shook his shoulder harder.
"Daddy" she whispers into his ear as she shook his shoulder, this makes the man wake up he opens his eye, still half asleep before realising who it was.
"N/N, what's going on?" He questions the little girl sitting up in his bed, he looks over at the time and sighs sleepily only 4.30, he then picks the toddler up and tucks her next to him under the covers.
The girl sniffles again whiping her nose on the back of her hand. Big watery E/C eyes look into his. "Don' feel well" sniffles the little girl before coughing loud and hard.
Hotch pats her back and uses the back of his hand to feel her forehead, after a couple seconds he pulls it back. "Your burning up Honey, how do you feel?" He asks picking the little girl up into his arms.
Y/N wraps her arms around his neck, the man turns around to wlak out the door but Y/N wriggles around. "Bun bun" she whispers in a horse voice, Hotch turns around laying forgotten was Bun Bun Y/Ns special bunny.
The man bend down and picks the toy up and gives Y/N it. "Oh no we cant forget Bun Bun can we" he says as the two go downstairs.
As they walk Y/N tells her dad how she feels "achy Daddy" she says and points to her throat, Nose and coughs again makong Hotch pat her back.
Hotch leaves Y/N on the couch before going to the Bathroom and to the medicine cabinet, he then grabs some paracetamol and a glass of water for the girl.
"Here sweetie" he says and hands them to her, Y/N, shakes her head at the tablets. Even though he crushes them up she still hates taking them, Hotch then moves the little girl to his lap and holds the tablets for her to have.
Once the toddler had taken them and had managed to fall asleep again, Hotch was stuck he couldn't move as Y/N was laying on him and he finally got her to sleep, so the man stild and let her sleep.
Hour 30 minutes later...
Hotch was tired, but hadn't fallen back to sleep incase Y/N needed him. Checking his watch the man saw the time. "6.00am got to wake up Jack" he mutters before gently moving his daughter and walking upstairs he had to get ready for work.
Once he was ready qnd Jack was ready for school, Hotch had to think of what to do with Y/N, she couldn't be alone but he couldn't take a day off work.
Walking into the living room he had an idea, probably not the best idea but it should work, he then gently woke Y/N up.
"How are you feeling sweetheart?" He asks the toddler, Y/N rubs her eyes tiredly as she sits up on the sofa. "Lil' better Daddy" she said voice quiet, Hotch smiles and strokes her flushes face still radiating heat.
"I'm glad then, your coming to work with me today okay Baby" he explains to the toddler, she may be 3 but it pretty smart.
Once Y/N was dressed and wrapped in a warm blanket and had all her things Hotch grabbed his briefcase and got both kids into the car.
First they dropped Jack of at school, then they drove to the FBI headquarters, As Hotch walks in with his sick daughter he of coruse got many looks sent his way by other agents he was happy to get to the elevator.
"Now sweetie you can say hi to the team and I will set you up in my office if you need anything call me okay" Says Hotch to Y/N the toddler smiles and nods her head.
The father and daughter walk into the bullpen, the team were standing around waiting for Bossman to arrive. Derek spots the man first.
"Hey Hotch, we were wondering where you where man" he said walking over the team following, Hotch smiled at them in apologe.
"Sorry guys, was alte dropping Jack off" he said as the girls get excited at seeing little Y/N with Hotch. Y/N curls into her Dads arms more.
Derek takes a good look at his bosses face. "You look like shit mate, did you get any sleep?" He asks getting a nudge in the side by Penelope who nodded over at Y/N.
Derek gives a guilty look he forgot about her, the team all turn to look at their boss, Derek was right Hotch had large bags under his eyes, his tie was wonky and his shoulders slouched.
He looks down at Y/N and wraps the blanket around her more. "This one woke me up at 4.30, has a cold haven't slept since. Then was late dropping Jack off" he explains, JJ gives him a knowing look.
The others are shocked. "4.30!" Exclaimed Emily and Derek mouths open in shock. "Now then I have to get Y/N sorted in my office to back go work" Says Hotch back in Boss mode.
The team watch as the tired man walk up the ramp towards his office, once he was inside he put Y/N on the floor and set the blanket up on the sofa infront of his office and all her toys on the floor so she wouldn't get bored.
"Here you go sweetie" he says and sets the ill toddler on the mountain of blankets and gives her a cup of water, he will make sure she drinks lots of fluids throughout the day.
"Thanks' Daddy" Says the toddler making Hotch smile.
The end!

pairing: bucky barnes x f!reader
words: +4k
warnings: angst. that's all.
note: this wasn't planned. at all. i had the day off and wanted to write something but nothing was coming to me enough to write another part of the outbreak or how to break a routine in one year, so i was just browsing tumblr until i saw something related to memory loss and this popped into my head. i thought i wasn't going to finish writing it but it came out more than i expected. and clearly this gives for a part two and even more, but at the moment i don't know when that will happen. also, i suck with titles, i think i'll change it later. meanwhile, i hope you enjoy it! feedback is always appreciated, thank u for the support! 💜

Bucky was right to be scared. He was right to feel his soul leaving his body and his heart bursting with pain. He was completely right to be frightened, unsure of the future and the opportunities it had taken with it. Bucky was right to feel that his world was crumbling, that he was left with half a heart to survive for the rest of his life.
But he was also right in deciding not to show how scared he was. He could have his nerves frozen inside his body and feel his blood boiling inside his veins, his whole insides churning and messing up without any compassion, but he couldn't let that rule his life. He knew that the only solution was to cope rationally and objectively, even if he wanted to burst into tears every ten minutes.
“Okay, everything looks good for now,” Bucky heard the doctor, along with the others who were in the room.
He had been standing in the corner of the room the whole time, not moving a millimeter barely to breathe. The mood was so bleak and melancholy that he feared the sadness would rub off on him if he blinked any faster.
“So, can you discharge her now?” Tony Stark asked, his body closer to the door than any other.
“Yes, she can leave after you sign some paperwork. I'm going to need her to come back for some monthly checkups and let me know if she comes to remember anything.”
“Of course,” Steve Rogers stated.
Bucky wandered his gaze over the other two men in the room and the two women behind them, Natasha Romanoff and Carol Danvers. They all looked wary, not taking their gazes off your figure lying on the gurney after the doctor finished checking something in your eyes. He didn't like the way their bodies moved, anxious to talk, anxious to ask questions. He didn't like how Steve constantly opened and closed his hands; how Tony crossed and uncrossed his arms over his chest; how Natasha suspiciously watched the doctor every time he approached you and asked what he was doing; how Carol glared at the man every time he told them there was no news or progress. They had overwhelmed you before with so many gestures and words that the orderlies had to take them all out almost by force.
In a way, Bucky understood them. He too had been terrified at the beginning, still was to some degree, but it had been a while before they began to regulate their behavior. Bucky understood that the situation was difficult for them, as it was for him, but they also had to think about what it was like for you.
You were on the brink of death and awoke to find that about seven years of memories had been erased from your head.
Bucky had not taken it well at first. He was in a constant panic and searched the internet for all possible solutions that could make up for the mistake that was made. He was anxiously talking to Wanda trying to convince her to find something to do. He had gone to Strange almost begging him for some spell that could fix everything. He had asked the doctor a hundred times on the verge of insanity if it was possible to fix it with another surgery. It had simply been the worst news he had ever been given in his life.
Until, by some divine miracle, the rational part of his brain took control of his thoughts and emotions. That's when his “there's nothing we can do” thought came. The rest of the team was surprised when they saw him calmly walking around the Complex and going on missions, when Bucky had finally understood that he couldn't stop his life for something he couldn't fix. He had to learn to live with that and he hoped the others would too.
But no, it seemed that moment of enlightenment hadn't come to anyone but him.
They returned to the Complex after signing papers and picking up medications with the orders the doctor had given them, some pills for the eventual migraines and muscle relaxants if needed.
The trip was tense. Everyone sent you wary glances and purposely averted their gazes when they saw you watching them. Bucky could tell you were starting to get nervous. Even more, anxious.
Lacking knowledge of your family's whereabouts and that your current address was the Complex, that was where you would spend the rest of the days of your recovery -although Bucky had other options in mind-. The doctor had put his buts in, believing that being in such a tense, busy and overwhelming environment as the main Avengers facility was could hinder your process of getting better, but Tony was very specific and quick to tell him that there was a part of the Complex, a wing, that they had almost completely isolated to keep you in a safe place and away from the stress of the job. The mechanic spoke confidently about how you would be totally at ease as if the decision was entirely up to the doctor, while giving Bucky a helpless look. Finally, to please Tony, the doctor agreed to let you go spend your recovery at the Complex.
Of course, it had nothing to do with the fact that Bucky was your husband.
The doctor who treated you for almost a year, from the time you arrived injured and near death, to your subsequent surgeries and recovery, always knew that the final decision was out of his hands. It was funny to watch Tony argue his points to influence his decisions, but in the end that was not something he had any power in. His gazes always turned to Bucky, waiting for a nod or a shake.
Tony knew that too. You had invited him to the wedding because you were closer to him than Bucky, plus they had to see each other constantly for work. They weren't best buddies, but they maintained a relationship that was professional and affectionate and friendly enough to keep you satisfied. That is, until the accident. Since that day, Tony had taken a completely different stance towards Bucky and he really didn't find it strange. He hadn't even been able to speak to him since the day he had almost apologized with his knees to the floor when they had to tell Bucky that you almost died because of a mistake.
Over time, Bucky had let go of the anger along with his realization that he couldn't do anything to change the past, but it seemed to him that Tony still felt guilty about what had happened.
Bucky looked away from the road when he saw you stir in your seat as they were about to arrive at the Complex. The team tried to make small talk after several minutes of traveling in awkward silence, but it resulted in a much more tense atmosphere with everyone turning their heads to look at anything but you like fish out of water.
Bucky watched you from his position in the back of the van as you moved forward to view the Complex facilities in delight. He couldn't help but smile after spending months in constant stress, realizing that you had done the same thing the first time you had gone over ten years ago.
Carol and Natasha took it upon themselves to guide you through the isolated wing of the Complex to the room you would be staying in. Bucky stayed a few floors down along with Steve and Tony in the living room.
“How are you feeling?” Bucky heard Steve ask next to him, as Tony quietly approached the bay window.
“Fine.”
“Buck, you don't have to-”
“Really, I'm fine,” Bucky nodded, noticing Steve's incredulous look. He had to fight not to roll his eyes in disgust.
One thing the team had taken to doing constantly was treating him like a child, like someone who didn't know what he was feeling and didn't know how to control his emotions. That had been happening since the moment he accepted that he couldn't fix something that was out of his control. That you'd had an accident, you'd lost your memory, you'd forgotten him, and there was nothing he could do about it. He had tried everything, and there was nothing.
But the team thought his attitude was that he was trying to hide his feelings and, well, in part he was. He didn't deny that it still made him scared and angry to think of all the opportunities and moments that were gone along with your memory, but he was aware that showing himself that way in front of you wouldn't bring you any good. Unlike him and completely unaware of the truth, the team believed he was in denial. They believed that Bucky had been trying for months to avoid dealing with his feelings and that at any moment he would break down and suffer fighting the horrible reality.
Bucky had only responded to their unconscious attacks and questions with the truth, but it seemed the team was in more denial than he was.
“The doctor said the chances of her regaining her memory were high. Don't worry.” Steve patted Bucky on the shoulder to accompany his words, a sympathetic smile on his face.
“Steve, I'm not wor-”
“And she'll adjust well to the routine in this place. You know we'll be constantly keeping an eye on her and making sure she's okay, right?”
“I'd rather you stay away,” Bucky mumbled, his teeth grazing at the discomfort.
“What did you say?”
“Nothing.”
Bucky kept his distance at first. He wanted to first meet and see how you were adjusting to your new home and how you related to others. Besides, he was also a little nervous about talking to you. You had done it before, yes, at the hospital. You had introduced yourselves and asked him a few questions when he was around. But when Bucky finally confessed to you that he was your husband, it was as if something had disturbed the gravity around the both of you. Clearly Bucky was quick to notice that change in your behavior and began to pull away trying to give you your space and not overwhelm you, unlike others.
You had some memories with him, Bucky was sure. You had lost the memory of about seven years, and you had come to the team ten years ago. That would have been good for him and your relationship, except that in the beginning neither of you could stand the other.
That's right. You two hated each other's guts. And Bucky eternally regretted waiting until the fifth year of meeting you to make his feelings known to you. Because, at that point, all you remembered about him were his stinging comments and his cold, calculating stares. When he remembered the things he had said to you to hurt you on purpose, he would cringe and his body would tremble in rejection.
Before confessing, he had thought about the possibility of keeping everything hidden, maybe try to win your trust again and suddenly have what you had before. And maybe the Bucky of six years ago would have done that, wouldn't have hesitated to keep the truth hidden just to guide you down the path he wanted to walk. But the Bucky who was there, in year ten, couldn't look you in the eye and try to keep something in the dark. He knew it wasn't right and that lies usually backfired on the person telling them. Besides, ever since you had decided to try to have a relationship, you had made him promise never to keep anything from you, no matter how stupid or horrible it was. You had been in such a toxic relationship with him before that you only wanted to look out for each other's welfare. A relationship based on trust and communication was a good relationship.
And Bucky wanted to keep his promise, even if you couldn't remember it.
So he was keeping his space, but he was always aware of what you were doing. And that's why he noticed every time you would give him a questioning look and then pull back and focus your attention on something else when you noticed he was looking at you.
Bucky wasn't sure if it was a good or bad idea what he was doing. He could just walk up and talk to you, maybe you were willing to do that. Or you might think he was crazy for watching you from afar like he was an eagle and didn't want you near him under any circumstances. Bucky didn't know what to do, and asking the team wasn't in his options, so he just decided to do what he thought best.
One day, a couple of weeks after you returned to the Complex, Bucky met you casually. Really, casually.
He had spent a whole week in constant stress so he hadn't even been able to get near the side of the Complex where you were staying. He had been assigned an undercover mission and it had turned out to be a little more complicated than it seemed at first. There were too many fights involved in the end, but he had achieved his goal.
The day he arrived at the Complex he took a long shower and a long nap. It was the least he deserved. After waking up, he went to the kitchen to make himself a coffee because it was just getting light, when he saw you leaning on the kitchen counter.
You froze at the same time he did. Bucky wasn't expecting the first person he would meet to be you, he didn't even know you were already freely leaving your safe place, but life is full of surprises, apparently. Bucky noticed your wary gaze on him, how the cup you held in your hands had been halfway to its destination and how your body moved only to breathe.
He moved, continuing with what he had gone to do, despite feeling that captivating electricity coursing through his body and asking him to move closer to you. Moving his eyes away from yours felt like a sin and his body was almost reluctant to follow the directions in his head.
Bucky finally approached the coffee pot to notice the steaming liquid coming out of it. So, it was coffee that was in your cup.
He was a little hesitant to drink from the coffee you had made because he didn't know how you would react to his intrusion, so he decided to move to the other side of the kitchen where the drawers were and grab the first cereal to be found.
“You can have some of that coffee,” you spoke to him suddenly, resuming your movements and he could barely turn to look at you over his shoulder. “Clint did it.”
Bucky followed your eyes moving all over the instance, anywhere but on his, and even though he felt he'd had a year to prepare for this, it seemed completely insufficient: nothing would have prepared him to ever again hear your nonchalant voice directed at him the way you spoke to him before you decided to become a couple. Bucky thought that those years had been buried in the back of his head, that the situation you were going through wouldn't bring back memories he preferred to keep hidden, but thinking about doing it was easier than actually doing it.
He moved his body almost groaningly until he was back in front of the coffee pot next to you. Hearing you talking to him like that had knocked his mood to the floor. He wasn't too high either, that mission was both physically and mentally exhausting, but he was more relieved to be back at the Complex.
“I didn't see you this week,” you spoke again as Bucky thought you were about to leave the kitchen. He moved his head to look at you, his expression indescribable, you could barely describe him as dumbfounded and bewildered.
Bucky mumbled a few words before responding. “I was on a mission. Far away.”
“Mhm,” you hummed in response, and Bucky nearly melted at the sound. Even though he recognized your demeanor, because that was how you acted before when you wanted to get information out of him or when talking to someone you suspected was hiding something from you, he couldn't help but rejoice at finding little gestures that made him reminisce about the good times he had with you.
With more encouragement, Bucky poured his black coffee under the umbrella of your expectant indifference.
“How have the others been?”
He moved to stand in front of you with the cup in his hands, and could notice how subtly your shoulders slumped a little. He couldn't define whether in calm or ennui.
“It's been… complicated.”
“Are they very insistent?”
You turned your head to look at him, and Bucky nearly choked on the sip of coffee he'd taken. He thought you'd keep visually ignoring him and not turn to look at him like he was a life preserver in the middle of the ocean.
“They're horrible,” you barely whispered, your head bobbing closer in complicity. Far gone was your mask of coldness the moment you found someone to complain to about how terrifying those weeks at the Complex had been. “I feel like I can't move my hair without having someone behind me asking me if I want my hair combed for me or if I was moving it because I had a headache. Anything I do is over-analyzed and that's so…ugh, so frustrating.”
Bucky definitely didn't expect you to spew all those words in front of him, but he did understand how overwhelmed you must be and mentally berated himself for agreeing to you having visitors from the moment you arrived. His idea was that you would have time to clear your thoughts and to adjust to that new place on your own, but somehow the team managed to convince him to let them in from time to time to greet you because being alone too much all of a sudden wasn't good for your sanity.
He should have known better knowing how clingy and pushy his teammates were.
When he was around you, they behaved, but they seemed to pretty much take advantage of the times when he wasn't around to behave as they pleased.
“I hate being treated like I'm a piece of glass. I understand well what happened and its aftermath and that it affected them too much, but I can still live peacefully without needing them to do things for me. I'm not incapacitated or anything like that.”
“I understand.”
Wow, Bucky, couldn't you have said something much more interesting?
“I'm fine,” you continued speaking as Bucky noticed how your eyes were lost in the distance in the kitchen. “I really feel fine. But they're always on me like trying to convince me otherwise and talking about my memories every other time.”
Bucky furrowed his brow and suddenly felt the sting in his chest from anger. There was only so much Bucky had in life to control his temper and that was you. With anything else, Bucky was nothing but walking indifference. He didn't care about the fights the others on the team had, he didn't care about the decisions that had to be made, he didn't care about what the majority chose, he didn't care about the discussions about the rooms when they had to stay in hotels. But when it came to you, there was no stormo chaser that could withstand his tempestuous attitude.
The limit was that the others could get angry, fight and argue about whatever they felt like, but the moment that started to affect you, Bucky didn't hesitate to step up and shut them all up. That was one of the reasons he was the leader of the mission most of the time. It was easy to recognize his leadership ability, even if he tried to hide it through that window of indifference. He was very objective when it came to making tough decisions and was very capable of organizing whatever chaos had been created around him.
And, at that moment, Bucky felt he had reached his limit. He had let himself be convinced by the team to bring you here to carry out your recovery contrary to what he had thought of leaving you in the city with one of your closest friends that you remembered very well; and then he had let himself be convinced to let them invade your space when it was clear that they were not going to know how to behave around you and would overwhelm you just like they did in the hospital.
Bucky couldn't understand how he could have made such bad decisions about you. He felt he had completely failed you as your husband by not giving you a truly safe place in which to heal.
“I'll tell them not to come back,” Bucky told you after a few seconds in silence and your blank stare focused on his suddenly elated face.
“What?”
Bucky met your gaze. “This wasn't the way I wanted you to spend your recovery, and it's certainly not the way you should spend it. You should be calm, but I don't see that happening. I'm sorry.”
You watched his face, transfixed. Bucky looked quizzical for a few seconds at your dumbfounded stare and no response. His eyes moved around your face trying to figure out if he had said something wrong… until it all clicked in his head.
You didn't remember.
Yes, it seemed stupid because he'd been living with that thought all last year, but apparently he had to remind himself. For a moment, he had gotten so lost, not only in the familiarity of your ramblings and gestures, but also in the annoyance and self-reproach, that he had forgotten for a few measly minutes that you didn't remember. You didn't remember that protective side of him. You didn't remember how much he loved to sit and listen to you talk about others, good things or bad things. You didn't remember how much it made him angry when other people made you the least bit uncomfortable or angry. You didn't remember the way he showed that appreciation, that love for you.
That attitude Bucky was giving you was completely new to you. Surely it was like seeing a different person. Bucky mentally cringed at the thought that you must be thinking of him as a jerk who acted like a teenager and said hurtful things just for the fun of it.
At that moment, he would have liked to take more time when you were in the hospital to talk to you, so he could get to know you and you could see that he was different and not the same person he was six years ago. But at that time he felt so scared. Just the memory of your face contorting when he had told you he was your husband still sent shivers down his spine.
One thing he couldn't deny was that he had lived constantly, even up to that moment, in fear of rejection. When you had reacted that way that time at the hospital, Bucky had at first turned away in fear. But then he had tried to be nice to you, as if nothing had happened. However, he could tell that it was much more strange for you to see the flowers on the table in the room or to have him bring you lunch because the hospital food was so simple. It seemed that no matter what he did, that reluctant expression on your face would not go away.
Then, he stopped trying. He would only show up in your room when you were sleeping, in the daytime or at night, and when everyone gathered for the doctor's checkup. Bucky didn't know how to get back into your life and the very idea was driving him to the brink of panic again. So he tried to have that moment of enlightenment again, but all he got in response was that maybe he should continue to keep his distance.
At that point, Bucky didn't know what to do. It wasn't your fault to react that way because it wasn't what you remembered about him, that wasn't wrong. He felt again that incessant need to pull away and go back to watching over you from a distance, because the look you had given him was so similar to the others that it was scary. Too scary. The possibility that he could never get back even half of what you two had before danced around him like a taunt. The ring on his ring finger too heavy to bear.
“Thank you…? I think,” you replied at last, but without changing the quizzical look on your face.
“I'll talk to Steve,” Bucky announced, a little more impassively than he had planned, and took the cup tightly in his hands with the thought in his head to get out of the kitchen so he wouldn't keep invading your space.
He felt your gaze follow him until he was near the living room.
“Hey, wait.”
He heard your footsteps following him and planted his feet on the floor. He gave you a questioning look over his shoulder, waiting for you to say something. Bucky watched you move from side to side, shifting your weight on your legs, a clear sign of your nervousness. When you looked directly at the contents of your cup instead of his eyes as you spoke, he couldn't help a small smile.
“I'm sorry about that. It's just… This is too weird for me. I wish I could get close and talk to you because that's what my body wants, but my head keeps me alert and defensive when you're around. What I remember about you is not…”
You cocked your head and twisted your lips. Bucky thought that had been the kindest way to describe it.
“You don't have to apologize.”
“But I do have to!” you exclaimed, scowling at him. “It's been a year and you've been nothing but kind to me. You've given me space and time, unlike others-”
Bucky nodded strongly at your words.
“-but I've given you nothing in return.”
He relaxed his features, letting the tension dissipate away from his body. He momentarily pushed away his worries and negative possibilities because you stood there in front of him with such a contrite expression on your face that it caused him physical pain.
“You don't owe me anything, Y/N, okay? What I do I do because I want to, not because I'm expecting anything in return from you. If you feel like you need another week before you talk to me, that's fine, take it. If you feel it's a month, six months, a year, it doesn't matter. Take as much time as you need. Either way, anytime, you know where to find me. I'm not going anywhere.”
Bucky hadn't missed the journey of emotions that roared across your face and he was genuinely happy about it. It had been a while since he had seen you feel not only comfortable but joyful around him, that he had begun to think that those moments would only live on in his memory from now on. But, perhaps, that might not have been the case…
“Thank you, Bucky,” you murmured after sighing, and if Bucky hadn't been so attentive to you he surely would have missed it. Along with the small smile you gave him that would be enough to keep his sanity afloat for the rest of the month.
You saw him give you a small nod and then begin to walk away, leaving as the sun's rays began to appear through the living room window. A strange feeling settled in your chest, and it seemed like a turf battle was taking place between your reluctance to accept that Bucky had changed and that you two had taken your relationship four levels higher than expected, and this new feeling that was akin to hope. You could barely recognize it.
You didn't know how you were going to begin to deal with the reality that you were married to Bucky, but you suddenly felt a little less afraid to know the history of the decisions that had brought you to this point.
You remembered the wedding ring that was tucked away in your nightstand drawer and how it shone just as brightly as the one you saw on Bucky's finger. Maybe you felt a little closer to being ready to start dealing with it.
