i wanna know about the entire cast for the swap au. how would ramona's dynamic with the exes act as?

Obviously in my au knives takes gideons spot rather than a different ex of scotts like how other ppl do but i decided to make her the daughter of a rich business man (mr.chau) who is gonna pass the business down to her when shes 20 (in my au knives and scott “date” when she like 16/17 like in the books but a good chunk of the exes bullshit + everything before happens right when she turns 19 and she does like. a few chapters into the book and then at the end of the series around the canon gideon scott fight is when shes 20) ofc this also changes scotts age a bit but. lowk idgaf abt him rn hes like 26 at the start or so now instead of 24. roxie and wallace swap place unfortunately, i dont like wallace but i have to put him somewhere. roxie is a semi popular artist and ramona is a mooch who showed up to her apartment after a bad breakup and just never left but they actually have a nice apartment but theyre still in Canada(she drunkenly got on multiple buses and trains from nyc to Toronto at roxies place and survived dont ask how its that white girl swag).

I hate it when ppl age down matthew patel to fit knives’ spot but its also kinda weird because of the whole age difference thing its Odd no shade to anyone who does but it icks me out so im not doing it. Matthew is this guy ramona dates but shes lowk using him for money and cheats on him multiple times (manipulating him to forgive her) before scott is even in the picture.

also in my edit we see she still dyes her hair but she only does highlights and streaks because shes too afraid of commitment in more ways than one.

Im taking this as a chance to finally ramble abt her anyways so Janet's core inspo when designing her was to avoid 2 key things. Don't make her like Immortal & Th Restless's Clara (due to clara representing michael, not mrs afton, so i wanted to avoid that), and don't base her too heavily off of Ballora. I still have ties to Ballora's character (a music-based theme, blue-centric colour palette, im sure there were more basic ideas but everything else is more hc than themes to keep up) due to my hc thingy of each Funtime having ties to William's wife + kids, but yknow.

But yeah. Funky lady who played bass guitar + did backup vocals in a band during her high school and college years. Literally her and William dating can be summed up by "Seriously, what do you see in that guy?!" "He makes me laugh." bc she was and is WAY out of his goddamn league. Not just bc of the whole serial killer thing he was just an even bigger loser in college. Normal people dont develop a crush on a woman after she nearly breaks your nose and makes you bleed, William /j

But yeah uhh. I also dont like the idea of her being absent or neglectful purely because I got way too attached to her (i was originally gonna do that just to make things easy for myself but. Pretty lady,,, I am a very simple lesbian what can i say) so like. She obviously wasnt the greatest, most fantastic mom to ever exist given she was kinda maybe sorta well aware William was making some weird fucking clowns, but like. Hey. She tried. But yeah uhh. Shes got a lot of regrets. Wishes she coulda done a lot of things better. Kinda dies with those regrets. Ive seen people say that one of fnaf's charms is that no character is 100% good and i LOVE that, and wanted to keep it up with Janet. Good mom and overall a good person, however made some bad decisions along the way and whatnot.

Im still working out specifics (ive been slowly working on a lil private fic abt her and william meeting + their early relationship) but uhhh. Minor notes that dont get their own paragraphs is that William sampled her voice for Ballora so yay easy voice claim, she had an on and off relationship with her band's lead singer (her name's Bev), her birth name is actually Janice Schmidt but if you call her Janice she'll knock at least 2 of ur teeth out, she's a runaway teen and got adopted by this older couple bc her home life kinda sucked (idk specifics yet), and also girlie has an extensive criminal record of minor angsty teen type charges. Also teen Mike dying his hair and then 2020's Michael's hairstyle are both kinda references to Janet's hair because he wnated to look less like his father. Thats all ty. Actually no theres more that im remembering as i write the tags and edit a few details. Back to her and William because god im insane about them. So for starters it. Well i was gonna say Janet was def the first to flirt but i think William definitely developed a crush first and they only kept talking bc of said crush so its kinda up for debate. Okay so basically I think she should be like this:

Basically, to me... what I see as some of the "core facets" of her character are isolation and loneliness. She tries to distance herself from humans and her own humanity because of all the hurt they’ve put her through.

Plants and nature have been her one comfort, her one solace. It’s what she relates to most of all, and what she chooses to become to escape from it all. She wants to grow, unhindered, like her darling plants… a reasonable want for anyone to have, really.

Because of that, I really want to tell stories of her connecting with other people… Reconnecting with Bella and Alec after falling out with them in college, becoming friends with Drury and Jonathan because of their own disconnects from humanity, and then of course there’s Harley. 😊 Ivy can NOT escape making human connections!!

Oh and of course she is a lesbian trans woman that is extremely important to the narrative. (: Her finding joy and love as a woman loving other women is very important… allowing herself to open up to others and to experience that joy. To truly blossom!!

Currently I’ve been reading through more Poison Ivy comics here and there for inspo, I really want to find some good antagonists to work with for her!! I love when villains have their own villains to deal with. (: I feel like Veronica Cale could be a really good candidate for one LOL…

Oh I have also failed to mention the Ophiocordyceps Lamia will play a big role from the beginning!! It’s a big part of Pamela becoming Poison Ivy and I Heart Parasitism.

your mother’s side of the family is cursed with girls, at least, that is what they say when aranya finds out she is pregnant with her first child. taeng would be born on october 31st, at three a.m. during witching hour. no one is surprised by how loud her cries are, it carries across the big house filled with nothing but empty rooms. 

her family is a refined one, having come from thailand for her father’s work before she was born. they had made a life in indianapolis before moving to hawkins. it wasn’t what aranya wanted for the family, image is everything but they make do. 

it’s not until taeng is one years old that aranya finds out of sakda’s infidelity, his son kovit comes to live with them when he’s two. and taeng and kovit do not get along for most of their childhood, but kovit is the catalyst for taeng’s love for soccer when they’re three. taeng had always been a fast baby in every way, curious and learning whatever she could get her hands and feet on. it’s then that aranya takes interest in the matter, seeing what potential her daughter could be, because it was clear that kovit would not be the one to hold the family’s honour due to the infidelity. 

school is a breeze, but the coach’s in this small town are a pain in the ass. taeng is involved in gymnastics and soccer but it takes more than convincing and a sum of money to even give taeng a chance to kick a ball with the other boys, aranya often pushing her daughter to be better than all of them, otherwise how will people respect them? 

but it isn’t hard to see that taeng has the talent and agility that most player’s don’t. she’s fast and can weave through a crowd with the ball before they can say ‘stop’. this is often the song of her life, being underestimated by many, loved by very few, but seen for what they are: determined, ruthless, and relentless. growing up in a male dominated sport and feeling like an outsider in your own skin and mind is nothing new but nothing could prepare her for middle school to high school. taeng had a bit of a reputation to be something of a bully, her motto? strike first before someone does it for you. her words are always honest and to the point, her blunt manner is never one that is taken kindly, but as her mother say, never say anything that you don’t mean. while taeng might not always like what her mother has to say, they have an understanding of each other. 

there have been many instances where taeng has made a child cry and where she should feel bad there’s just nothing there. for a girl who’s grown up in a competitive state it’s hard to try and empathise with people that you should be kinder. taeng had not grown up in a kind environment. 

her mother was the head of the household while her father worked and kovit hid in the shadows. though that bond between the two was a quiet one, but taeng would never show her brother love where her mother could see. that is one thing she hides, but in truth, it’s to keep him safe. but she will never say what she really means to him. 

at the end of middle school is when she gets her first kiss with a girl and it confirms everything that she had already known about herself, but the rumour sticks with her to high school, and it’s not so much of a secret but more of: she doesn’t care. what she thinks about what people think about her love life is nothing in comparison to what people think about her playing a game.

taeng would have many flings with girls all throughout high school, but her one true love would always be herself and the game. her mother wouldn’t allow anything less. and if shes completely honest with herself? she’s scared of losing what little relationship she has with her mother than anything else. 

high school soccer is probably one of the lowest she’s ever felt because of how hard she pushes herself to keep up with the boys and try and get people to notice her. her routine for her high school years is nothing but preparing for her future. she doesn’t have much time to do the things a normal high schooler would, while trying to keep up with her studies. she doesn’t falter, but there is a moment where she thinks that she’s about one second before snapping. 

she rolls her ankle badly before summer break. she decides to play on it, and immediately regrets it after. that summer before the new school year is hell, her mother fears she’s falling behind, her father thinks that maybe it was a sign that maybe taeng should do something different with her life, her brother reminds her that this doesn’t have to be all that she needs to be. 

she takes a months rest before the doctor clears her that it’s fine, but there’s also a high chance that she could sprain it badly again, but that’s all she needs to hear before she’s back out on the field and preparing for her senior year where everything matters. 

women’s soccer during this time is not an easy sport to succeed in, but that’s where her mother’s scheming comes in : why not internationally? her mother uses her connections and gets people to scope her out and when they see her potential it’s all uphill (downhill) from there. 

the family moves their entire life from hawkins to england. 

taeng plays professionally for seven years before her career ending injury at the height of her career. 

after a couple of months of rehabilitation from her injury they move back to hawkins with some of the money that taeng had earned. 

then the earthquake hits, and taeng’s father dies. if taeng cried at the funeral, no one saw it. she didn’t know how a mourn a man she never really knew. they pack up his things and give them away when people start asking for donations. 

taeng pushes herself to start running again, and only during the late hours of the night does she try and attempt to kick a soccer ball into the goal. but it never hits as right as it used to.

some more fun things: 

she uh is not doing great ! honestly her entire life has been about pleasing her mother so now that she can’t do that she is simply spiralling and trying to get back to where she was but honestly she cannot do that anymore !

her and kovie are now starting to see each other for what they really are now that they are both mom’s disappointments which sucks but sibling bonding time !

she was pretty popular in terms of soccer i feel like , though obvs this is the 80′s and lbr it was a fucking struggle and i didn’t want to dive too deep into it bc this would be already too long but you get the point . women struggled so she really did everything she could to get to a point where at least people saw her more than just some girl trying to play soccer ya know ?

thrived better in england at least there were other international women that understood the struggle and now coming back to hawkins which is in shambles is rough. the entire year has been rough. 

has no goddamn idea what she wants to do, she’s currently living off of her earnings but knows she’s got to figure out what she wants to do with her life 

hasn’t cried since her birth probably ( this is a lie but she does not cry ! it’s hard for her like ok go off robot ! )

───  ➤   lennon was born from robert ‘bobby’ solo and his best friend veronica hayworth. the two were inseparable as kids and even more so as adults, though there were never any romantic feelings involved (due to ronnie being a lesbian with a partner), it had happened because bobby wanted to be a dad and ronnie needed the money. 

───  ➤  (lennon is close to ronnie but there’s no maternal love between the two of them)

───  ➤  lennon’s dad was once a well respected editor in chief at the post but about two years ago he was diagnosed with early on set alzheimers. pretty much gutted lennon, because it was his dad that had helped him get the job at the post and now it was like he was trying to preserve whatever parts of him that he could. it doesn’t feel the same without him there but he has no choice but to continue on. 

 ───  ➤  he takes care of his dad while continuing with his job and he does a lot of freelance work outside of the post knowing damn well that it’s a good job but it doesn’t pay the bills. ronnie helps when she can especially when it comes to spending time with his dad making sure that he’s okay. 

───  ➤  aside from that, he’s a pretty quiet and keeps to himself mostly, doesn’t drink but smokes a lot of weed, rides a skateboard pretty much anywhere that he can, is currently making a film of his dad but it’s nothing serious at the moment, he just wants to have it for himself in the likely event that his father passes. he’s the kind of guy to take photos of pretty much any moment just to have them. he’s very melancholy kind of guy and cares way too goddamn much about everything. loves very deeply but finds it hard to make connections with people because he’s afraid of getting hurt!

───  ➤  lowkey wishes that he had that motherly relationship with ronnie, because she’s like the cool aunt more than anything but he respects her wishes because her and her partner didn’t want children but they do deeply love lennon. they spend a lot of time together with their dad doing his memory exercises. 

───  ➤  lennon had an identity crisis about his photography about a year ago thinking that maybe the only reason why he liked doing photography was because he got to spend time with his dad. 

───  ➤  personality wise, he’s a big protestor, goes to all the ones that he believes in to take photos to document but also because he think it’s important, cares very deeply about a lot of the current issues especially because he is gay (his father when he came out made him a cake that said, ‘yay you’re gay!’ at sixteen). he loves giving back to the community anyway that he can, on the weekends you’ll most likely see him at the farmers market or the comic book shop (he has read most of the x-men issues and wants to one day make a comic of his own since it was a thing that him and his dad bonded on when he was a kid.) he’s very much a gentle giant.

───  ➤ lennon cares very deeply about each missing person’s case this town seems to bring and thinks its strange that no one seems to care that much because it happens so often, he tries to lend his services for free for families that feel lost. 

───  ➤  he has been commissioned to try and capture a lot of these entities and he’s gotten a few questionable photos but whether people believe in them or not is up to him -- but a job is a job and if you pay him he’ll pretty much attempt to take any pictures of them.

This is a sideblog, my main is @redacted-metallum ​!  The purpose of this blog is to collect inspo images and to make silly posts in character for my semi-original dark humor Cthulhu Mythos story that follows a shitty metal band out of modern-day Arkham called Twin Blasphemies and their attempts to make music.

Vocalist for TB, named the band after reading the Necronomicon and thinking “oh hell the fuck yeah”.  Not born in Arkham, but moved there to attend the Miskatonic University to get a creative writing degree.  They are now working on a library science graduate degree on account of they want to be able to have a job.

Currently working two jobs: one during the school year at the Miskatonic University library and one at the Innsmouth Dunkin Donuts.

Don't mind me, just trying to conceptualize a look for Claire Redfield in hopes of manifesting a Code Veronica remake. Feel free to ignore I'm just writing another essay it's not that interesting.

Starting off with a complaint because duh all I ever do is bitch and moan about everything. This is quite a big gripe I've had that's only gotten worse over the last two weeks. In Claire and Jill's redesigns, yes we know they're kind of twinning with the layered tanktops, skinny jeans and boots. But the bigger problem for me is they don't really give the 90s vibes I'm looking for. There's a nostalgia factor I'm missing here. And I figured out the problem. The skinny jeans, bitch. They go in and out of style quite a lot and unfortunately for Capcom, they were out in the 90s. I did a google search as well as sought first-hand accounts. My mother said absolutely not, and she knows a bit about the fashion trends after her traumatic experience with a pair of green flared trousers back in the 80s. What gets my goat a little is it seems whoever was in charge of these character designs didn't really account for the era or that there would be a miserable bitch nitpicking over something so inconsequential. As a consumer I often want my sweet sweet vibes. My excitement seeing Ashley Graham's pink flip phone in the 4 remake is unmatched and I love to see it. I think it was a prime missed opportunity because at this time the 90s trends are back in. I could go into how confusing it is to see how cyclical the fashions are, not to humble brag but I got super into tie-dye just before it was back in style. Another minor brag that actually annoyed me is I spent hours cutting up and shredding a knitted jumper back in February only to find pre-shredded jumpers are coming into stores now. And those are the only times I've been at least within the current trends, otherwise I don't know what's going on.

But TLDR: Factually Claire and Jill's redesigns aren't giving 1998 and I'm butthurt about it.

Now lets get Claire's original CV look out of the way, will be short because I don't really have anything negative to say about them.

These are among my favourite Claire looks, which isn't hard considering the decade of outfit repeating going on. I just think they're neat. And they actually give 90s. Peep the jeans, we've got the original with straight-leg, and the DSC version has a bootcut fit, both of which were the style. We've got cropped torso pieces which, again, very 90s. We can see differences in the two looks, but overall they're the same framework. Love them, cherish them, praying Capcom doesn't bastardise them. These are good templates for recreations and honestly you could take them in a few directions while still maintaining the spirit of the original.

While we're still on our 90s bullshit lets maybe go into some inspo. Won't do too much with this because I shouldn't really be listened to when it comes to being stylish.

Got a little annoyed trying to find pictures of actual 90s fashions. It's all moodboards and the current trends I was ready to call it a day. Whatever. I wholeheartedly believe Claire would suit the 90s grunge style. Perfect fit for a college student who rides her motorcycle around town picking up chicks. A lot of the vibes I gleamed from the google is the styles tended to be comfortable, casual, and there was an emphasis on layering. Flannel was also a big thing, and I'm not just saying that to project my lesbian headcanon onto everyone else. A more simple-minded reason is Claire's main colour is red and you see a lot of flannel in red. I'm pretty sure there was also a lot of band tees going on, and as we know Claire has a lot of Queen references going on. Food for thought. Also found another image that makes me more upset at her remake design.

Imagine if we got something more similar to this. This might be unpopular and a little bit controversial to say but I wouldn't have minded Claire having a simple red leather jacket and the made in heaven decal on her shirt as a band tee of sorts. That way her jacketless outfit would still maintain her vibes. Just a throwaway thought. This is more my realism brain wanting to overcorrect what I can't unsee as implausible with her managing to have a customised leather jacket, and having a second one too?? Gee, bill! How come your mom lets you eat two wieners? See me complaining and saying a look is pedestrian and basic yet something actually unique I'm like no absolutely not. At least I'm self aware enough to say the two thoughts don't coincide.

Now I'm ready and willing to talk about more specifics.

One of my only problems with the original CV looks are they aren't the most appropriate Weather attire. Allegedly Claire's adventure continues three months after Raccoon City goes boom boom. That would mean it was the end of December when Claire was doing her thing in Paris. Europe gets cold af during Fall and Winter so wtf is she doing wearing short sleeves with her midriff out? Maybe she's autistic like me and doesn't know how to dress for the weather, but I'm not willing to accept that until further assessment of her brain. This is where layering comes in clutch.

This amazing design by (90% sure) Jaeon009 on twitter is essentially the blueprint for what I would like to see. The button-up really adds to the look. For the purposes of Claire not freezing to death I would go for a long-sleeve, maybe a thicker material for extra warmth. Could talk about how great this redesign is but I don't have time or the ability to form words when I'm focussed on something else. Let's just remember where we are in the world at what time and that her OG look wouldn't fare well in a Wintery Paris, let alone when she ends up in the Antarctic.

Next bit is more for me needing to know exactly what's going on, just being a nosy bitch. It will go into her clothes but at this moment I'm wondering what she was doing in those three months. We know at some point Leon told her to fuck off and find her brother, unless the remake canon would change that. My concerns for her safety are would she have been able to go back to where she was living? Would she have kept a low profile in case nasty bitches were after her? In that case would she have gone back to her college or wherever she lived to get a change of clothes? It literally doesn't matter whatsoever but I'd like to know, plus these factors could/should affect the look she's giving us. Perhaps she had to thrift her clothing and she put together what we end up seeing in a hopeful CV remake? Yes, I know I get stuck in the smallest of details. We could scrap this entire section and nothing would change but sometimes I need to get it all out.

I've played around with redesigning Claire (as well as other characters) on the sims 4 that I may post at some point but even with cc it's kind of limited for what I'm trying to convey. Don't draw anymore so that's not happening. I'd love to find some other way of getting what's in the brain put into physical form. That's probably why I feel the need to make long essays overexplaining everything. I really should learn to draw again it would make life so much easier.

Bonus concept art from way back when the original RE2 was in development. Perhaps Capcom should go back through all their old concepts to get some valuable inspo.
