hi!!! ive been putting off sending this ask bc idk how to phrase it in the best way but … ive been trying to work on my drawing lately even tho the Voice that wants to give up bc im not immediately good at things is VERY strong !!! & i love your work so much + ive been taking a lot of inspo bc its kinda scribbly and pared-down but still really expressive + differentiated (i.e. im just saying its something i feel like i can try match the vibe of rather than like, a very detailed and refined thing?!?! absolutely not my intention to sound rude at all!!!) .
anyway very rambly but the main thing is ive been struggling a lot w figure+perspective+silhouettes and honestly everything so i was just wondering what ur process was like??? particularly bc ur style is more pared back but everything is so cohesive and all the perspective n posing is perfect. i’m curious sketching/planning is involved before a typical work you’d upload? and idk like……. how much technical skill + consideration goes into a drawing especially re: posing & perspective. just bc i feel like Such a Noob and like my eyes r literally wrong and nothing looks Right. im such a type A planner it just feels like maybe idk am i supposed to be educating myself on figure drawing and shading perspective first??!?! or do i just draw until it’s good?!?!?
idk man i create in a lot of different mediums and i feel super comfortable letting my writing be terrible before it’s good but w drawing the self-critique is SO difficult to ignore. thanku for what turned out to be a vent lol. but i would appreciate any insight! also i love your art ok bye
Hi! yeah great ask. I've been there. Live there, even. Here're two of my comfort hacks
1. Scribbles = Bonsai It can be real hard to know when you're 'done' with an illustration (or anything really) if you don't have a job for it. My doodles are 'done' to me if they have Character, Rhythm, & Balance. I stole that from a youtube doc about Bonsai.
2. Figures / Perspectives / Shading = Planning The Chunks These are kind of all the same thing - 'how am I using volume to say something.' I've found formal perspective stuff to be stifling. I work around it by making little marshmallow toothpick people and putting them in a diorama.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like the diorama method because all I have to do is make far things lighter and close things darker. That's a lot of depth for very little effort and I'm on a budget.
If this helps y'all I'd love to hear about it 🍀

General Simon brainrot sketch page :3, as per usual, explanations under a cut. Apologies if my posts tend to be kinda huge and difficult to scroll past, I try to do the cuts to make sure they do the least inconvenience to anyone! (>-< ;)
Just the whole page in full ft. My thumb lol
Expression practice! Simon is feeling the weight of his situation rn alas :(. I’ve always imagined him being panicked the whole game; the overarching entire game timer really gives a pretty good feeling of dread imo. The two doodles at the bottom were attempts at multiple ideas I’ve seen floating around about the curse, but they’re kinda bad in execution looking at them no tbh. But the first one is based on the idea that the curse gives some vampire traits like sharp teeth and would probably lead to proper vampirism if he were to die from it. The second was general attempt at like skull practice and comparing facial features to skull structure, but oh my god the page kept smudging and I tried making it look ok with some random blood on there but it just made it look even sillier 💀.
These next two are based on two random like liminal space images I ran into on Pinterest and I drew them mostly because I suck at backgrounds and idk Simon’s Quest itself is like Castlevania: Liminal Space Edition a lot of the time, so it fits X,,,,D. The first one I really liked the composition of the path on the far side contrasted to the trees. Imagine the water is the purple cursed swamp :3. Hopefully Simon has laurels just standin around in there.
This second liminal space for Simon to be in was this neat nighttime photo of a graveyard! Trees are HARD TO DRAW, especially just in pencil and a solid black background. There’s blood on the ground and stuff cause he was just fighting some monsters, probably those two headed lizard guys. It’s the awkward stillness after clearing out an area of enemies.
The pose for this one is based on the LOL~lots of laugh Miku figure lmao 💀💀💀
Simon is very fun to put in exaggerated poses! Especially cause you have to exaggerate them more to get the same ratio of pose to negative space because muscles and armor. I had no idea how to make metal belt armor thingies sit in a like legs up floating sort of pose like this so they kinda bend a little weird but eh he looks cute otherwise. The other doodles present are one that says “brainrot” which is kinda making fun of my own dedication to an NES character 💀 and also cause haha rot like the curse. Also, teeny tiny Simon with a heart!!! :3
Yippie! Simon posing again! I think the first pose was inspired by this like random old anime style angel figure??? Idk I think she was just an original character figure and the pose was pretty different, I just used the reference mostly for the arm position. Anyway, he’s vibin, just sitting curled up and momentarily comfy. Alas, the horrors persist in the second doodle that was an attempt at showing how the curse kinda deteriorates him but he just kinda ended up having a scarily snatched waist and it looks more stylized than like sick. Also the armor kinda bends around him in a way that makes it look like it shrunk with him which is so dumb lmaooooo (XwX). I’ll have to revisit the concept eventually idk, just look at his face for this one XD. Hahaha tiny doodle based on Larval Rin on the left there, nothing to see here—
The main doodle is just Simon looking into the distance bewildered and holding the whip, standard stuff. There’s also a side profile doodle and an attempt at drawing crying again cause I was getting kinda rusty at both of those things.
Simon Belmont but if he was 2000s anime lol. A fun little style experiment, I might keep this as like another secondary art style. There’s also some doodles of a hanged man skeleton, the eyes of Vlad, a skeleton hand, and a couple little chibi Simon’s of various expressions.
More 2000s anime Simon, but in a more silly way like the art style change for joke sections. One is him just goofily holding up Dracula’s head, but it’s contrasted immediately with a more gritty usual art style doodle of him with harsh shading lol. Get you a man who can do both I guess 💀
I gotta practice more on backgrounds and composition and stuff, probably also get some curse effects consistent augh. Lately I’ve been on and off working on random things or just staring into space tired, getting back to using social media is hard and an exhausting uphill battle unfortunately (_ _ ;). Sometimes I feel like I should probably split these up into multiple posts to make things more visible and to put more focus on specific drawings, but idk I don’t really want to, it just feels weird to me breaking up a doodle page like that, if that makes sense??? Eh idk.
#castlevania#castlevania games#akumajou dracula#castlevania ii: simon's quest#castlevania simon’s quest#simon’s quest#simon belmont#art post#my art#fanart#sometimes I forget that the turtleneck addition to his undershirt was like something I added somewhere along the line 💀#seeing the actual box art and staring at his visible neck like where your clothes at and then I remember oh wait#I did that I was the one that who made him cover up 😔#ok also the hair lmaoooooooo hahahashshs prince of eternia lookin ass#Simon really out here with that fuckass bob Konami what barber did you send him to#I forget that like there’s not the sections and piecing I usually draw and that he really just has his bangs straight cut in that#I guess the way I draw his hair is like a middle ground between his manual doodles and the cover art?#yeah that makes sense I’m using that explanation of it now XD#anyway love him I’ve got another page of him I’ll try to post soon hopefully#past that is some really quick OC concept sketches and like idk dissociating#aaa I gotta talk to people but I keep losing all track of time and then can’t because of guilt augh it’s a miracle I’m posting this rn tbh#daydreaming is a horrible coping mechanism don’t do it guys I’ve been stuck with it since fourth grade 💀💀💀💀💀💀#it’s addictive it starts out like ‘time to imagine a character to this song :3’ then it’s been two months#vent in the tags#but mannnnnnn 😔😔😔#anyway here’s a whole sketchbook page of my comfort character who hasn’t seen a day of comfort in his life uh—#idk if posting at like 10 PM at night is a good idea but eh whatever

hi I really love your art style and I’m an aspiring artist so I wanted to ask, what’s your step by step process for drawing faces? do you use references for each pose or do you just wing it? and for bodies, how did you learn to draw with perfect proportion?
Thank you :D 💕 there’s still a lot of learning for me to do, but I will do my best to explain my process and answer your questions :)
1) Faces
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I usually start with a circle and overlap it w a rough oval face shape, and then I put a cross that cuts through the middle both length- and width-wise. I also usually mark where the hair line is (roughly halfway from the top of the head and the middle line). Then I start sketching in features of the face. This can of course vary, but usually eyes fall in the middle of the head (the middle line), mouth is about halfway from the chin to the eyes, the nose is halfway between the mouth and eyes, and eyebrows are half way from eyes to hairline. Obviously you can exaggerate these features, and change proportions, but these are just the basics. And even with exaggeration, people still tend to draw with a ratio that pleases the brain (i.e, thirds).
Sometimes I need another pass and do another sketch w more detail, but for faces I usually like to just jump into lineart w a rough sketch. I start with the eyes/eyebrows because I feel like they are the most expressive part of the face, and that you can tell what a person is thinking or feeling by their eyes and/or eyebrows alone (Which is probably why I love designs where characters have masks/helmets that only show their eyes or have white eyes). And I love drawing the little wrinkles in them when someone’s angry or pensive haha. Then I draw the mouth/nose, then cheek/jawline, then neck, and I do the hair :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once you know the rough basics, you can adjust certain features. For example, maybe you want more angular cheeks with a long face, or a kid with slightly curvy cheeks to show their youth. Maybe you want someone to have a more square jaw, but big round eyes. Etc etc. BUT the proportions are roughly the same. You’re free to experiment though and change up proportions.
2) Poses/Bodies
Tumblr media
Okay, I really should use more references, but I tend to just wing things😭 I sped up a 15 min doodle so maybe it helps w the process, but I usually just start drawing a face and then figure out what I want to do from there. However, if there’s a pose I want but can’t figure out, I will look up a reference. And then that knowledge gets added to my brain. The ability to wing things doesn’t come from nowhere. It helps to do studies and experiment, because the more you observe different poses and try them out yourself, the more your brain starts to understand how bodies work in a 3D space, and you will be able to recreate or make your own poses from your own mind.
As for the body proportions, I feel like that’s the thing I need the most practice in, but again it’s the same advice w studies and experimenting. I also have a couple tips I answered a while back, that should be somewhere if you scroll through my #art tip tag
Hope this was helpful 😅 and have fun drawing and creating !

⏳Downfall Links Doodles⏳
Program: Ibis Paint X
Time Elapsed: 4 hours, 25 minutes.
Tumblr media
Classic Link got smaller somehow, and I welcome it.
The doodles above are all incarnations of Link from the Downfall Timeline (+ bonus Ravio because it is inexcusable to leave him out). I can go on for hours about why I love each of these storylines individually, but I'll try to keep it short and sweet and save the ramblings for another post.
This page includes ALTTP Link, ALBW Link and Ravio, LoZ Link, and AoL Link- who I HC as a second incarnation of LoZ Link (more on that later, my mind has been swirling... o_o).
First in the Downfall Timeline comes ALTTP Link, and I already have expressed how much I love that game. I mean, just look at rabbit Link. Sure, it's not very intimidating, but there is no way you can't love a little bunny. I hope we get some sort of nod to his again in newer games (like Ravio). I can never really decide on which color to use on his hair, but this time I tried pinkish highlights. It makes his hair look like a sunset, oddly enough, but also kind of like old art of the Sacred Realm.
Next comes ALBW Link and Ravio. Based on some implied dialogue exchanges in the game, I like to imagine they're too much alike while not at all at the same time; like brothers, basically. However, I imagine they're close enough that Link surprisingly takes his cowardly counterpart more seriously than others might, and Ravio looks up to Link a lot and even tried to replicate his behavior. Knowing that Tri-Force Heroes Link is supposed to also be ALBW Link, I imagine Ravio is like the "Vio" to the trio of Red, Green, and Blue in Hytopia. The little smithing attire ALBW wears was given to him by the Blacksmith, who I HC adopts him after the story. That makes Gulley his little brother. :)
Lastly, there's the two classic versions of Link. According to Nintendo, these two Links are one in the same. However, I like to imagine differently due to the difference in gameplay style. I also just think it fits better in context of the rest of the timelines. So, here they are with two different designs. LoZ Link is a small, ten year old boy with a heart twice his size. He simply sticks to a sword and bombs. AoL Link is 16, and learns magic spells to progress through his adventure while living in the dormer's shadow.
I like to imagine, if Ravio somehow met these other incarnations of Link, he would give them all goofy nicknames. ALBW would obviously remain Link or Mr. Hero, but ALTTP Link would likely be cursed with some bunny related name because Ravio thinks it has style. LoZ Link would probably just be "little buddy" (in reference to him calling the Link he knows simply "buddy"), and AoL Link would just be "Mr. Adventurer". He's really creative.
I've been considering making a LoZ-based fancomic and have been making plot outlines at a rapid pace. It is unlikely to start up anytime too soon, but perhaps keep an eye out? I may send updates every so often.
Reblogging is fine, but please don't post this anywhere else without linking the original post. Thanks!

I love how adorably you draw Xero. For me it is difficult to draw him so expressively, so how do you do it?
Waaaa thank u so much!!! Truly one of the best compliments I could ever receive :)
To be completely honest, I’ve been drawing Xero for like 2 years now or like a year and a half. Practicing has made me understand how I want to portray his character and the personality he has (or that I’ve given to him) in a way I don’t really acknowledge it, like, my hands know how to but my mind doesn’t- if that makes any sense lol
I still struggle to draw him from time to time, sometimes I feel like I do the same doodle lol. I guess exaggerating face features and moving them around is my way of doing it. Like I move his eyes a lot, every doodle of him has different eyes. I also add that little “brow” line on top to indicate the feeling better (just that one line can change the way he looks! which is impressive and a ur scary-) Playing around with poses too, even if you are just doing from the chest up twisting the body around helps, not just making him stiff in a straight line, certain poses can reflect someone’s personality! Like the way you stand is different from the way others stand (some out all their weight into just one leg, some have their hands crossed, etc etc) and that can show the way you act.
Sometimes I draw a little fang to show mischief for example! When his eyes are straight it means tiredness but when they are more tilted they look more angry, another example!
Im not a big expert on art and it’s hard for me to explain stuff to others but I hope this helps! We all start drawing something in a way you might not like, but slowly you get good at it! dw you’ll find your way!!
Ngl this made me look through my old doodles, so here’s how much I’ve grown to draw Xero!
These 2 doodle were done in November of 2022. The way I’ve drawn him has changed a lot actually- I hadn’t drawn him that much so these do feel a bit awkward- I hadn’t placed my art style on him yet, I was just using the in-game design.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are three others that I had done around 2023. I was getting more used to drawing him, tho I was still improving at drawing! The emotion I give him is expressed through his eyes cause he doesn’t really have a mouth lol- different shapes of eyes can help change what he’s feeling for me so yee.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And these are the last doodles I’ve done for him, literally drew these yesterday. I feel so comfortable drawing him now cause he’s just so funky and silky. His helmet is so hard to get use to drawing tho, I still find it a bit hard to draw his side view but hey I’m trying! (Also I tried redrawing the doodle of Xero on a throne-)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tbh I’m really happy that you think he looks expressive!!! I always tell myself I gotta add more emotion to him and not letting him have an emotionless face, so I’ve been forcing myself to add more and more feeling slowly lol.
I don’t really know the exact way of adding more expression tho, kinda just guessing why it may look like that. Sometimes, I just do it. So, keep practicing! It’s what every artist tells other artists but it’s true, sadly lmfao.
Thank u again!! As the self-proclaimed #1 Xero hk fan (which lol probably I’m not but I love him to much so I like to think it as that-) I am thankful that you’ve acknowledged my incredible skills at drawing this silly fool.

ok something that has been bothering me and that ultimately doesn't matter. but. here I am.
Tumblr media
So here Mic is talking about Shinsou. we all get why Aizawa would see himself in Shinsou, what's confusing to me is how he's see Shirakumo in him.
To me this can only be a question of appearance, because Shinsou just. Isn't like Shirakumo?
Shirakumo is joyful and a dumbass and he likes people and stuff, and Shinsou is a bitter, tired and mostly rude smartass (affectionate). Apart from their desire to be heroes, there's not really anything that makes them look alike.
I'll go over some other stuff I think Mic could be talking about at the end, but let's get to the appearance part.
THEY DON'T LOOK ANYTHING LIKE THE OTHER??
Here's a little doodle I made to show their main characteristics.
Tumblr media
Shinsou : purple hair that stands on its own (or with hair gel), crescent-shaped eyes w/ heavy dark circles and white pupils.
Shirakumo : Blue cloud-like hair that stands on its own/floats, big almond eyes with white pupil (forgot to put that in the doodle), band-aid over nose, and those two little hair pieces framing his face.
The only thing they have in common is their hair standing up. Shinsou's eyes are also pretty much always the same shape, I noticed, he's not very expressive. see :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
even at his most expressive, his eyes don't change that much :
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have no idea what that means but there.
Anyways, where am going with this? I thought of some way I could make Shinsou and Shirakumo look more alike. Think of this as a redesign of sorts.
here's another doodle :
Tumblr media
my offer is to :
make Shirakumo's pupils more noticeably white, and make Shinsou and him some of the only characters who always have white pupils.
Give Shinsou hair pieces to frame his face like Shirakumo, but longer, or messier, so they don't look like a copy-paste.
make Shinsou's eyes slightly more almond-shaped - not exactly like Shirakumo's, just. rotate the guys a bit.
make Shirakumo's hair not exclusively blue ; here I made it a bit purple, but any darker or warmer color could work, as long as it's close to purple without being the exact same shade.
ideas that I couldn't incorporate in the doodles : Shinsou could have an aspect of his fighting style be similar to Shirakumo's, or have a similar mannerism as him (like how Aizawa and Shinsou share the nervous habit of putting their hand on their neck).
I think I'm gonna try to edit some screenshot or manga panel to show these changes (uwu follow @lunejump)
Anyways I'm not really doing this for any reason it just makes me so confused that Mic said Aizawa could be seeing Shirakumo in Shinsou.
I suppose he could just be talking about how Aizawa's protective of his students because of Shirakumo, or maybe he's making a parallel between Shirakumo saving Sushi and Aizawa "saving" Shinsou? idk man feel free to tell me if you know

Sorry if this is is a weird question, but how do you draw so many different shapes and poses so fluidly?
(I have a drawing style based on realism and I'm having a lot of trouble finding ways to adapt to different poses and expressions in a way that makes sense to me)
Not weird at all!  A lot of my process is breaking things down into simple shapes and making silly mental notes to myself like “ the middle finger is usually always longer than all the other fingers” and “ overlap this line here to make the arm bend look more believable” fjhgsdjhfsdgf
Tumblr media
Now, I could spend time drawing out the musculoskeletal structure of everything and all the joints and where everything goes, but that’s extremely boring to me and i’m impatient. So I opt for simple color blocking the silhouettes of shapes. Just enough so I know what I can manipulate, and how. Besides, you can always add details later. Focusing on details immediately is the quickest way to get frustrated, no matter what kind of style you have. Take. Your. Time!!!!
The way I approach it is similar to tweening in animation, or the intermediate frames between two key frames. Y’know, those frames you see when you pause something and the character looks stretched out/disfigured ? Those frames are what create more movement. Same can be applied to the drawing process! Lets look at this lil doodle here:
Tumblr media
Sure, the subtle stretch of the circle shows decently enough that these two both have the circle, and want it, and don’t want each other to have it, but it doesn’t really feel like it, does it? buuuuuuuuuuut..
Tumblr media
If we stretch it a lil bit and emphasize the STREEEETCH (and the effect of it on the poses respectively), it looks a lot more exaggerated, which makes it more fluid. You get a better sense of the tug of war between these two. Who will win? Will the circle stay in one piece?? Did these two ever learn the concept of sharing???? What matters is you can see the movement a lot more clearly.  Especially in tandem with the first doodle. There WILL be a victor here.
You can apply this to basically any shape! Once you break down your shapes, see how they fit with the movement of what you’re drawing. Stretch and squish and squeeze as needed. Combining curves with straights aids in bringing more movement by allowing some contrast to show where the stress of the movement is the highest/most influential. OH also...
DRAW THROUGH YOUR SHAPES!!! This helps you follow the form a bit easier, which will lead to more coherent movement throughout your drawings!
Tumblr media
You can see where i’ve  kept the initial lines and where i’ve drawn the back of the head and how it feeds into the neck, which then feeds into how I “attach” the shoulders to the torso. This also provides consistency, which I find is super helpful in guiding me to where the “flow” of the pose is going or more prominent. You can (sorta) see where I made the right eye slope a bit upwards to follow the contour of the purple circle I used for the initial headshape. The distortion makes it look more dynamic, even when there isnt any real movement going on here. It provides depth and feel and a sense of where these shapes are sitting in relation to other shapes.
(its a messy sketch, but hopefully you can see where I was goin’ with it LOL).
Learning to abuse foreshortening is also a good way to get some fluidity in your poses/expressions. The whole concept relies on making a deal with perspective to elongate, overlap, and compress shapes to “fit” within the composition. It might also help to try figuring out which edges and contours are more important to your composition, and accentuate them as well!
I hope this helps aid you somewhat in your quest to figuring out how to make sense of things in your style, n good luck! <:

Lore dumping my fnaf au
Tumblr media
I just remembered that I inserted myself and my best friend into the au for funsies (you'll notice I do that a lot. This is how cringe I am)
In my first draft I went on a rant abt how much I hated Wilbur's face but after going back to fix it I just needed to add his glasses LMAO. Initially I forgot about the face paint until I stared at my ref LMAO it's supposed to look faded and I think I did a pretty damn good job
Other than that the rest is fine. Erm. I didn't think I'd yap so much about that the actual lore is below the cut lawl
Tumblr media
This is Maya!!!! (she/they) she's the mechanic in the pizzaplex, is addicted to caffeine, and is my bestest friend !!!!!! In the au we live together and also work at the same place that's so funny ‼️‼️
They usually work the night shift but if there needs to be emergency repairs during the day they're always on call for that. Nights usually consist of checkups and clean up of the animatronics and androids (will get into that later).
Tumblr media
Clearly, I have a favorite, so he's also my favorite in the au itself LMAO cSoda works in the daycare but often leaves to bother the animatronics ☝️☝️‼️‼️
the daycare has an art station so that's where they work, they also help clean up and watch over the kids with the daycare androids !!! Who are *drumroll* Mumbo and Grian !!!!
Tumblr media
(I forgot the makeup in this doodle,, and apparently the white stripe on the red part of the dress uggghh) the daycare androids are supposed to be more human looking to not scare the little kids, but cartoony (and tall) enough to differentiate from the human coworker. I like to imagine their faces are rly simple bc they're LED screens with projected expressions to make emotions n stuff. Plus I wanted to keep their faces similar to their skins with an in universe reason for it pfsjshgdhdh
Tumblr media
Tumblr keeps bugging out every time I wanna post and it's DRIVING ME INSANE !!!! half this post got deleted and I'm SO MAD ABOUT IT but anyway here's the refs I made like 2 years ago. Their designs haven't changed since I made them so I probably won't remake them unless I start hating my old art enough LMAO
The canon heights I never wrote down so here they are: Ranboo 8'0, Wilbur 7'2, Maya 5'4, I'm 5'7, Grian 7'0, Mumbo 8'0, James 7'0, Tommy 6'6, Jimmy 5'5 and Schlatt wasnt in the AU at the time but he's 6'4
Tumblr media
I didnt really make this au for anything except silly scenarios and because making the designs were fun pFF ALSO I FORGOT TO MENTION Sneeg is dj music man !!!! I never got around to drawing him before since I just figured out recently I wanted him to be dj music man so yeah !!
I know this isn't that much of a lore dump but I think I got all my thoughts out for now lawl everything will be under the animatronicfication au tag :v
Tumblr media
I have GOT to draw Wilbur the way I used to. The biblically accurate animatronic eyes do NOT look good in my art style 😭😭 also I just noticed I basically painted the same thing into my sketchbook wtf I completely forgot about this doodle until I found it after digging for au art 🤯🤯

Nim Sketch Dump
as promised, here's a big sketch dump of my sona/oc nim! this isn't gonna be a popular post and I don't care 👍
I didn't originally intend to post these so I've referenced some art works heavily but I've written the name of the artist and I'll type it out too! if any of the artists see my references and is uncomfortable with it please let me know and I'll remove it from this post :D
dump under the cut!
Tumblr media
the first ideas for his "modern design" (he's been around and recycled for a loooong time). the pose in the top right hand corner is taken from @/hiraethminds! they are a very cool artist and inspire me a lot. though the grey-ish tones as the major colour goes away I still really like the centipede tattoo, centipedes are rad as fuck and you can't tell me otherwise
Tumblr media
I started to play with the idea of a goat design for him here! which is strange because like. that's not even his main design or motif or anything, I just really liked the idea I guess LMAO also Aurelai belongs to my mate of the same name! she's not on tumblr (yet) but you should still like her because she's cool and awesome
Tumblr media
a treat for my qsmp enjoyers!! an unfinished short comic I sketched on the day tallulah lost her first life. the other characters in this are my old ocs, don't even worry about them
Tumblr media
I straight up just have the image that inspired me in this one. its by @/sss-eriema and it was a gift from GOD. I was trying to sort out the colours and wanted to incorporate both orange (my favourite colour) and green (my close second favourite colour) but wasn't having much luck. eriema's artwork showed me that it can work in a more muted way and it was very very helpful!!
Tumblr media
maid dress. sorry. also slimecicle
Tumblr media
I started to get the colours down in the bottom right corner!! I really like this sketch page honestly. some bonus self portrait sketches because I wanted to try and put some more of my own features into his design as my sona! also in the notes I was debating between the two eye shapes and I'm still thinking about it. I think the bottom ones fit his personality more and are way more expressive but I just like the Vibe of the top ones
Tumblr media
a lot of little drawings with varying styles! also more slimecicle. I am adhding so hard for him right now, it's concerning.
Tumblr media
t. this one is the reason for the blood tw in the tags. I just really like drawing blood. as a treat. don't come for me this is my self-indulgent safe space leT ME BE EDGY </3 also the writing is a little hard to read so I've put it in the alt! and more qsmp doodles!
Tumblr media
I'm starting to ditch the goat design but this one is my last hurrah. basically settled on the general colour scheme now! and more qsmp stuff. its literally gripped my brain I can't escape it, even in my personal work
Tumblr media
then I realised. nimbus-BUGS. bugs! what if bug? this was a really fun study for using more creature features that I wasn't used to! loving the mandibles tbh
Tumblr media
my most recent sketch as of posting! I might update this later, but this sketch page is probably the most gratuitously referenced, the expressions in the bottom left and top right were basically ripped from @/microwavablesquid so if you like those please check them out! the basic design structure of the full body was referenced from @/aresonist, retroactively I realised a lot of my design choices. uh. they also made LMAOOO so if my design in General tickles your brain, follow them!
as for his lore and basic information for what he actually Is, uhhh. ??? I don't know HAHAHA he's a little guy! he's creature! is he human? probably not but no one could say for sure! is he bugs? is he 1000 bugs in a trenchcoat? sometimes he's goat I guess??? I can never decide on a design and I think that aids his cryptid-like habits. he shows up sometimes, vibes and can't die in a way that matters! he has a running motif of my fake-God-thing, the centipede ouroboros, so I was like "what if he was a harbinger of the ouroboros, what then." and I like to imagine he has video game logic where when he dies, he basically respawns. also weirdly it's worked out in a way where he has lots of biblical motifs, like my name is literally nimbus, like the halo, and he's a messenger of a god like some fucked up blorbo angel. also lily of the valley is my favourite flower and I like drawing him with it, it also has lots of symbolism in the bible?? wild.
I sincerely doubt it but if you guys have any questions about nim or want to draw him or anything I would Die. I would just keel over. you'd take me out.
thank you so much if you got to the end of this btw!! this was a lot. seriously though, it means the world if even one person would like to see my little guy <3 have a great day and take care of yourself!

Hello!!! I bring you cardigan Fitz!!! He is obsessing so hard over his book that he doesn’t realise that he needs a refill of tea.
This may be late by an hour and a half (Your time, I was hoping to send something in by midnight) but it looks good! I think!
I wanted to try a different style for it, a cuter one, one where I could be more loose. I don’t usually, like, doodle, so this was a nice change. I really enjoyed making it!
I hope you enjoy this!
Happy ayyám-i-há and I hope you have a great day!
-Heathen
----------------
Oh my gosh!! Cardigan Fitz!! Two drawings of my little guy in the same day?? What have I done to deserve this! He looks so lovely! Love your interpretation of his hair, it looks so bright and fluffy! And of course it matches his eyes, which is a fun way to tie in the color!
I'm so so curious what he's reading, what book has gotten darling FItz's attention and absorbed him so...I want to read it...(said as if I have any room on my tbr list).
I love the coloring and the lighting on this, I find the like. streaky lines? like on his pants? so visually interesting!! amazed at the level of detail and shading you achieved for a new looser doodle style! I also don't typically doodle, but I simply didn't have the time or energy for full fledged pieces for everyone so, it was fun to figure out what my doodle style was more like, as well.
and then the outfit! he's got his cardigan in his nice neutral tones that make him feel safe and comfortable and warm and supported and cozy! this piece is so so right, he should get to wrap up in his cardigans with a cup of tea and a book and polka dot socks and chill out. shannon give this to us now. and his expression! I love how you've stylized it.
I could go on and on about him but just! ah! I love him so so much thank you for drawing him for me he's delightful I'm going to put him. in my pocket. and feed him little treats. he's soooooo <33, thank you heathen!

Y'know I know ask games are for people to, y'know, send in asks. But I don't see people often just. Fill it all out themselves. Fuck it I'll help out the shy people.
SO ASK GAME BELOW 'READMORE' LET'S GO
1. Art programs you have but don't use: MS Paint, Blender, I used to have WAY more like this one painting [like actual paint] program.
2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even): Left is easiest, Right is in the middle, and forward is the hardest of those three for me.
3. What ideas come from when you were little: I was fascinated by G/T from like. 3 years old. I blame Super Mario Land 2 LMAO
4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw: Handheld, perspective, monsters/creatures, and massive scale
5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself: Uhhh probably about 50/50? A lot of things I draw are spoilers, shitposts, and other study art I don't bother sharing.
6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it): Not that I can think of? My art doesn't get analyzed super often. I think people think I study anime more than I do.
7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate: Charcoal, watercolors, sculpture, oil pastels, acrylic, copic markers
8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in: Originally I was going to make an AMV with my two characters, Nonny and Felicia, to the song 'shut up and dance with me'. These two aren't active OCs anymore, and the project was WAY too ambitious for my skill level 9 years ago lmao.
9. What are your file name conventions: 1: Name of song I listened to on loop while drawing. 2: An inside joke. 3: Literal rep of what's on the canvas like 'Hema doodles Aug 2023'.
10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw: Body suits, capes, scarves
11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what: TONS. My fave lyrical music, videogame soundtracks, sometimes just ambiance if I'm overwhelmed. Usually tho it's the same song on loop till I get the inspired piece out of my system.
12. Easiest part of body to draw: Eyes!
13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing: A lot of NSFW artists who I won't list here LMAO. I don't go to that school, but their art skills are top-notch.
14. Any favorite motifs: Mirrors, doppelgangers, leaving 1 eye absent for emotional effect, feathers/wings, falling, sinking into water, eyes, dark palettes with bright accents/light sources, glowing eyes, flowing hair, size difference/scale, fucked up version of self vs real version
15. *Where* do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth): Starbucks, home, parks if I'm feelin spicy, anywhere I take my tablet for the day.
16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing: A lot of my niche/kink stuff tends to get pretty dredge-y for me. I may be good at it, but it's not where my passion lies. That's in animation, fantasy, dramatic stuff, storytelling, etc.
17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what: Water or Snapple for the drink, milk if it's bedtime so I can settle down, and then usually the snacks are just whatever my lunch is for the day since we don't have a table.
18. An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken: Not many! Less than $100 I'd say. I'm very careful with my supplies, and I don't believe I've ever broken a tablet. The worst I've done was I busted 1 or 2 cheap tablet pens with stupidity.
19. Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.): Definitely nature. Tree trunks and swirls therein, flowers, grass.
20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy: Humans! Not that it's an 'everyone' thing, I just run in some furry circles where human artists are a rarity. Eyes, too. Some people find expressions rly hard.
21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways: Uhhh man damn, I don't follow a lot of art styles that aren't something I took inspo from? But I guess Wolf Walkers is my biggest one.
22. What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any: Sooometimes I stretch, but I don't do it nearly often enough.
23. Do you use different layer modes: Yep! My most common ones are Multiply, Glow Dodge, Add, Add Glow, Overlay, Pin Light, and Color.
24. Do your references include stock images: Absolutely! Reference is important.
25. Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by: Not much! Most of my inspirations are pretty clear-cut and strong. Avatar, SU, Disney, Dreamworks, FMA, some Warner Brothers' movies, etc.
26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended: God, so, the G/T gif of mine that makes the rounds a lot? The one where VT finds someone small and it's their POV and he helps them and puts them in his shirt pocket??? Most people were completely normal about that post. But then there's one chuckle-head who was calling it pocket-vore, and I wanted to scream. I even chastised them like 'hey uh, no. That's not what this is.' and they argued back with 'well it's up to the eye of the beholder more than your opinion.' and I was like 'UH NO. I MADE THIS. MY OPINION IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOUR WEIRD ONE???' I've also RAAARELY had people call my characters underaged when they're all well over 21, so those are always gross/wild LMAO.
27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with: Sometimes! I usually do an anatomy study, brush stroke warm-ups, or just doodle something personal first.
28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines): I think Multi Animator Projects [MAPS] would count here! I was part of Starclan's Chosen, Change Your Mind [Brambleclaw], Levitating, Family of Me [fallenleaves], Goosebumps Warriors MAP, Pay No Mind MEP, LA Devotee [never finished], White Rabbit, and Fear Garden! Among others :>
29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically: Not much! Pretty much everything I love inspires me artistically. I guess some anime styles?
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated: Pretty much any of my animations. But I only feel that way cuz they take THE MOST dedication and work time. Also kiiiinda my writing? But a lot of people have trouble getting people to respond to literature, so.

Heck do all the asks
I had two more cups of coffee while working on these and my nervous system is undergoing a transformation
1. Art programs you have but don't use
I bought Clip Studio Paint on sale but still haven't dragged myself over the learning curve. I also have FireAlpaca downloaded and only use that for cropping images.
2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)
I find forward the easiest! Left and right are about the same for me, but I also do a lot of canvas-flipping, and about half the time the angle I start drawing is not the angle I end up with.
3. What ideas come from when you were little
Project-wise? I still kick around character designs from when I was a kid. In general, I think the brightest constant is that I do pretty much exclusively character art and not scenery, still life, or real-world living subjects because all my ideas are related to fiction.
4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw
I love monsters and extremely complex character designs, but they're hell on my stamina.
5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself
Right now, I post maybe ten percent of my art? Most of it is just for me or for one other person.
6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it)
I guarantee there are still remnants of anime influence in my art, since anime and manga were what really cemented my identity as an "artist" (insofar as I can cal myself one, which is probably up for debate). One bit of evidence that comes to mind is my love of like... knockoff chibis? I don't think I can call them chibis, but funky lil guys.
7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate
*Watercolor.* My sister works mainly with watercolor and it's something I have never been able to grasp.
8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in
At some point I wanted to make a collection of group pictures with the main characters from all of my comfort stories.
9. What are your file name conventions
You need to see the thumbnail if you're going to have any idea what the file contains. I drew a three-part series of doodles and the filenames are "BEE," "too," and "tree." I'm also fond of variations on "HELP" and "ohno."
10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw
Tailcoats or long, flowy dresses
11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what
Whatever I'm feeling! Music, a podcast, an audiobook, a YouTube video that doesn't require me to look at it, a stream if I'm on a call with ~Geoffrey~ while she's playing a game. I'm not picky but my autistic ass (affectionate) needs the sensory input to focus
12. Easiest part of body to draw
Lukewarm take, I know, but eyes. Or eyebrows if I'm allowed to be a smartass
13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing
I don't know anything about this person so it's purely from an artistic standpoint, but I respect how wildly recognizable the JJBA art style is (the actual art, the expressions and poses, the character designs, all the things)
14. Any favorite motifs
e y e s and also bones and time-related symbols
15. *Where* do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth)
Almost entirely at home at my desk, but sometimes I doodle during downtime at work
16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing
*U h* I don't think I'm good at a wide enough variety of things to have an answer to this
17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what
I need to have a drink nearby at all times or I will Die. Flavored water, soda, and coffee are the big three, but I also like sweet tea and assorted fruit juices. I don't love eating while drawing for sensory/cleanliness reasons, but sometimes I'll have something crunchy
18. An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken
Not too many! I do tend to mangle colored pencils because I'm too rough when sharpening them, but I don't use a lot of materials that are easy to break and I'm neurotically careful with my tablet because I can't replace it. The closest I've come to breaking that was keeping the cord in a drawer my kitten learned how to open
19. Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.)
Anything That Glows
20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy
Armor, mechanical parts, and bones. I'm not saying I don't find them difficult, mind you, but I love it
21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways
Slowly grasps Cinder's sleeve. Also Fern's. Also ~Geoffrey's~. If I have to choose someone I don't know personally, crow-caller
22. What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any
This is a thing I definitely *should* do :)
23. Do you use different layer modes
YEAH I abuse Multiply and Screen
24. Do your references include stock images
Oh naturally. AdorkaStock is my go-to
25. Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by
Nothing that I can think of? I think that's mostly because the art communities I used to participate in heavily discouraged comparison, so I haven't heard any variant of "Your art reminds me of ____" in at least five years.
26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended
I don't have anything specific on hand, but I had a friend in middle school who jumped to sexualizing everything I drew, if that counts. There's not a lot to interpret in my art, though. It's. How do I put "shallow" nicely?
27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with
This is another thing I should really do!
28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines)
I used to do Art Fight.
29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically
Most live-action media! I also don't generally feel artistic inspiration from podcasts—the exception would be TTRPG podcasts, but even those don't tend to do it for me unless the characters have canon designs.
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated
I don't have it anymore, but there was a drawing I did a few months ago of two characters of mine. It came out to about twenty hours of work (which is a lot for me) and no one really seemed to like it, but I attribute that in part to the fact that I drew a lot of it in a stream, which kind of desensitizes people.

Hi, sorry, I really love your writing! You're very descriptive. Could you maybe do a character creation? I'd love to see what a character from you looks like.
say hello to character yellow, this is one I made a while back, I plan on making a character themed by each color, though my PC is busted and I'm waiting to fix it before I'd go on.
I hope you like her~
She enjoys watching leaves fall from a tree, she smiles when she hears kids laugh, she closes her eyes and hums softly when the music reaches her ears. With an eye for art and a love for nature Xania Sared is a happy soul
“Do you know what the word apricity means? It's a word that represents the warmth of the sun during winter, it’s my favorite word because it reminds me that even during the coldest winters, the sun is still there. It might be hard to feel but it’s not gone, just wait and the blessed heat will be back on your skin,”
Name: Xania Sared
Nickname: Nia.
Nia was a character in a popular children's show when Xania was young, it featured a teen who explored the world, and saved countless people through her travels, the teen was confident and cheerful. Xania’s friends always teased her about being similar to the character and started calling her by the last half of her name, due to it being the same as the character's first name.
Character Alignment: Lawful good, Xania is a good person by heart and was raised to hold the law in high regard, she’s not the type to break them for any reason and has a lot of faith in authority figures.
Eye color: A striking rich brown that shines hazel when it reflects light.
Body/build: Due to Xiania’s active lifestyle, she has a rather slim build with simple muscle mass, nothing over the top, and no abs but she looks fit and in good health.
Height: 163 cm Skin: Pale peach, she’s no snow-white but she burns pretty badly.
Face Features: She has an oval-shaped face, with high cheekbones and a small scattering of freckles.
Hair color: Brown Hair description: Her hair is rather long, this is due to the fact that all the woman in her family always grow their hair out until it hits their bum, it’s tradition. She keeps it tied in twin buns, you will scarcely see her with it loose. She loves her hair, but it’s a pain to wash and take good care of. It’s also really soft.
Resemblance: Xania is often mistaken for her father's sister, her parents had her rather early and she looks like a female version of him! Most tend to be shocked when they find out that she’s his daughter and not his sister.
Health: Xania is in great health! She does have a bee allergy and a cat one, which sucks because she loves cats. She hates bee’s though; those things are devils!
Clothes: She has a very colorful and artsy style, often seeming slightly vintage
Bedroom: Her room is a mess! A very organized mess, no seriously she knows there’s a paper clip on the floor by the corner of her desk that has been lying there for a week. She knows. There are some art things in there, plenty of posters, a bed, and eh things? Ohhh she has plants too! Can't forget those.
Mannerism: Xania swings her arms and pushes herself onto her tippy toes before sinking back down to stand normally, a habit she picked up as a kid whenever she felt awkward, if you catch her eye when she does this, she’ll smile rather stiffly and look away. She hops when excited or bored, it’s a more fast passed hop with a bright expression when excited and a slower hopping from place to place while repeating ‘hop, hop, hoppy’ to herself when bored, she does it to amuse herself. She'll fluster and stop with an awkward laugh if she catches you staring while she does it. She blinks repeatedly when she can’t understand what someone is saying.
Education: She was/is really terrible at school, she just can’t concentrate, there are so many more interesting things to see! She'll often forget she has homework and just does some art instead. She doodles in her books a lot.
Personality traits: Chipper, Hyper, Kind, Lazy, stubborn, stingy.
Fears: Desk jobs, no seriously how boring must it be? Xania doesn’t really have much or any fears.
Coping Mechanism: Crying, she cries when she’s angry, she cries when she’s sad, she cries when she’s happy. She cries a lot. It helps her release her pent-up emotions. She draws or paints to force out her emotions.
Family: Her parents are rather young, with her having been an accident when her mom was sixteen, they stuck together though. She has a great relationship with both, her father paints with her and he teases her about getting a grandkid often. Her mom loves to bake, and she has Xania taste test the food. She has plenty of extended family that she sees often, her entire family is very close with family dinners and weekends being spent together. They play boards games after dinner or watch movies together every night. Dinner is eaten around a table together and the chatter is always positive and relaxed. She has a little brother Jureth, he’s a studious little thing and she’s pretty sure he can kick her ass in school work even though he was like six years younger. She teased him a lot and often re-decorated his room, they pranked each other a lot, he gift-wrapped everything in her bedroom once, Xania was pretty sure her dad helped with that one, but she had no proof.
Optimistic or pessimistic: Optimistic, she could be falling to her death from the Eiffel tower and still be ‘I could totally land this and survive’ this girl does not know when to give up.
What would she change about herself? Her voice, she sounds like a wailing banshee when she sings.
Self-esteem: Xania has been called beautiful by well most people her entire life, she wasn’t striking but she was pretty, her self-esteem is rather high, she has a lot of confidence in herself due to her family’s constant support.
Hobbies: Listening to music, painting, bike riding, hiking, rollerblading, poster collecting, pranking, sleeping
Who are their important people: Her family, Xania’s most important people will always be her family.
What is their relationship with food? She savors every bite, Xania loves food and treats herself to new exotic things frequently. The way to her heart really is through her stomach.
How are they with Money? Saving? I'm sorry what’s that? She can’t keep money, the second she sees something artsy or yummy her money is gone.
Emotional or logical? Emotional, overly so, she won’t think through her responses until it's far too late, she gets riled up easily and her anger can distract her a lot. She holds a mean grudge.
What is their voice like? Her voice is chipper but a bit on the deeper side of the range, it’s not train whistle high but well it’s nice.
How do they talk? In fast-paced long sentences when excited or happy, her voice is bright and filled with emotion, she laughs a lot and makes excited or shocked exclamations rather often.

Hi! Sorry for all the notification spamming, I just really really adore your art & the way you draw characters. It's so cool how recognizable all the characters you draw are, like their features/proportions/style idk its amazing. Do you have any tips for how to make a character consistently recognizable in drawings? Also, methinks Tim as Stray would be so much fun in a TimKon relationship, would you maybe pretty please consider doodling a bit of what you think that would look like?
Your brain is galaxy sized, your art is fantastic, and I hope you have a wonderful day<3
Ty! I’m just going to answer your first question, even though you asked forever ago 😭 I’ve drawn stray Tim before but we’ll see if I’m up for drawing it again
Anyways, as for making characters consistently recognizable, I think it helps to make character sheets.
Using my ocs for example, when I redesigned Rolin in my new style, I knew I wanted to have a very Shapey look, so I’d write notes on things such as: how the cheek should curve, what the nose shape is like or how many Fronds in his hair he should have lol
Tumblr media
As you can see, I even have arrows indicating the motion of the lines. If you’ve seen some of my posts of my redesigns for the dc characters, sometimes you can see notes in them too. Sometimes I write them, and sometimes I just catalogue the set of “rules” I create for a character in my head.
So yeah, for further example, I knew keiko had to have softer shapes to contrast her with rolin’s personality. I can’t find it, but I have a page in my sketchbook just working out the shape of her hair, which was initially supposed to resemble a butterfly 🦋 but then I made it have boxy angles. Whenever I draw them, I guess I go through their Individual checklists in my head.
Like for rolin:
-more sharp eyes, in an almond like shape. Check
-cheek is curved but “steeper” and leads to a somewhat sharper chin. check
- I usually have to redo the nose a lot but once it’s in the right spot for me I check that off ig
Or for keiko:
- rounder, bigger, more oval like eyes. Check
- hair bangs should start a little to the left of the middle of her forehead line, then to the edge of her ear. Check
- her cheeks should be squishy and round, and she should have a smaller face with her features more closer together. Check
And so on and so on, and the character sheets help because then you get into the practice of doing those same lines over and over, and at different angles or expressions. So even though I want to stretch their face as they contort their facial expressions, I still follow the same structure and adjust accordingly to keep their form, if that makes sense, I’m not perfect at it but I like to think my designs are at least distinct from one another and consistently recognizable
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this is a recent example, which I haven’t posted on tumblr yet bc I have yet to color it, but this is me trying to explore barts design and making sure I could still make it look On Model despite the different facial expressions.
Tumblr media
So in summary my strategy would be to
1. Sketch and explore the character design, write notes and study what lines or elements work or don’t work
2. Create a list or repository of the essential elements or a set of steps to recreate the same design
3. Practice and make a sheet where all you do is actually recreate that design over and over again, until your hand can just do it without your brain having to recall the steps one by one , if that makes sense
Of course, I like to redesign all the time as well but I try to at least capture the character’s essence 😗

Ningning Is aespa's Enthusiastic Daydreamer NINGNING is in a good mood. It's more of a constant than an observation. The reality is that the 20-year-old singer has an immense enthusiasm for life — and for truly living. It's hard not to be pulled into her orbit, especially when aespa's youngest member emits the kind of laugh that makes everyone around her feel just a little bit lighter. There wasn't a time before singing. NINGNING had been pulled to the arts from a young age. Growing up in China, she competed on several singing competition shows, including China's Got Talent and New Sound Generation. She joined SM Entertainment as a trainee in 2016, and, in the four years she spent honing her skills as a vocalist and performer, she also developed an artistic eye for drawing, painting and more visual tactile mediums like customizing her vintage wardrobe with her own doodles and designs.Related | Bask in aespa's Digital GlowThe digital looks she co-designed with PAPER and The Dematerialised showcase her creativity. In envisioning her tie, she thought of something you could only wear in the digital world, an accessory that stretches the limitations of your own imagination. In an industry that is often perceived as restrictive, NINGNING is a true free spirit. You can't put her in a box or temper her self-expression. It's one of the reasons she's become a muse in online stan spaces from TikTok to Twitter. (The "untouchable" edit from user @mieom_ee has over 16 million views and sparked a global trend that NINGNING herself even participated in.) Her members describe her as "quirky" or someone who often gets lost in her own daydreams. It's not like she doesn't have experience turning those fantasies into reality. When aespa debuted in late 2020, NINGNING finally got to stand on stage and call herself an artist, a dream more than a decade in the making. She looks up to singers like Ariana Grande, Rihanna and SZA — pop and R&B artists who cultivate a presence. Her voice is her secret weapon; soulful and agile, NINGNING possesses a keen sense of her own dynamic artistry. She can be a baddie (have you seen this solo performance?), but she can also turn around and hit you right in your feelings with a single note. From music to fashion to acting alongside her members in a web series inspired by aespa's lore, NINGNING approaches everything with an open mindset. Every endeavor is an opportunity to have fun. What is she looking forward to next? Her digital counterpart æ-NINGNING reached out from the FLAT to ask NINGNING just that, as well as to hear all of the behind-the-scenes stories about her first foray into digital fashion.æ-NINGNING: The digital look you designed is incredible. Tell me about how you co-created it with PAPER and The Dematerialised?NINGNING: You know I love a bold fashion moment. I think I look so cute in a mini skirt, so we started there in the design process. We then worked to create interesting accessories to pair with our looks. I think my tie is really unique and pulls my whole look together. I’m really excited to see our fans have the opportunity to wear the tie virtually. It is going to be really fun to see how everyone styles it on their own.æ-NINGNING: I agree! MYs have the same taste as us, so I think they are going to love everything we designed. I hope our notifications go wild on launch day with all the MYs sharing their photos of our accessories and æ-pets. Speaking of the æ-pets, I love the bunny rabbit. Which one is your favorite?NINGNING: I love pets so much and always get so excited when MYs show love for my cat, Roro. Honestly, I can’t pick a favorite between our æ-pets. I hope I can get them all.æ-NINGNING: We have so much in store for 2023, what are you most looking forward to?NINGNING: I’m most looking forward to releasing new music and seeing all of our MYs reactions. They have been so patient and I can promise them that it will be worth it. What are you most looking forward to?æ-NINGNING: You’re going to be performing at Gov Ball in New York City in June. What is your favorite part of New York City?NINGNING: New York City is such a magical place. I can’t wait to see MYs in New York City. When we were there last summer I was so energized by all of their support.æ-NINGNING: I can’t wait to see everything you accomplish this year. There is a supply of 200 for each accessory and each is priced at 100 EUR.NINGNINGNINGNINGKARINAKARINAGISELLEGISELLEWINTERWINTERThe widest available component to the digital capsule collection are unique generative æ-pets. Inspired by the first alien featured in the 1998 “Dreams Come True” music video by S.E.S. and reimagined by aespa, each æ-pet is uniquely generated by AI algorithm. Owners of the æ-pets can use them as a profile picture, play with their unique filter on TikTok and Instagram, and share their special powers online. These one-of-a-kind friends are here to make your metaverse journey extra mægical. There are 10,000 unique generative æ-pets, each priced at 25 EUR.NINGNINGKARINAGISELLEWINTERThe project is minted on the Polygon blockchain, a leading carbon-neutral Layer-2 Ethereum scaling platform.
