I can show the world my very first DnD character, Jingle(s) the Terribly Charismatic Kenku
Most of his arsenal of magic abilities are useless in combat, and his "voice" is made entirely of clown honks and silly sounds. Weapon of choice? A whip made of handkerchiefs he pulls out of his bag of holding. He's perfect and definitely not a devious little freak
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also he's a warlock btw <3
While most of his spells are useless, his eldritch blast is 600 feet of death and destruction firing from his arcane focus (a squirt flower). His patron is an unknowable abomination that takes the form of a circus, known only as "The Big Top". As Jingle(s) arcane sugar daddy, The Big Top offers him many... Bizarre abilities. I love this freak so much

Here are some little icons I've drawn for my d&d campaign of some npcs I've created!
The kenku is named Baubles (after the jester wand) because the first sound he learned to mimic was the jingling of a bauble.
The tiefling with the stars on her horns is Alterī. She is a blind prophet guided by an ancient couatl that is awaiting the fulfillment of a great prophecy.
The goblins are Sock and Duckweed. Sock is a mountain goblin who has learned a lot about smithing from traveling to nearby dwarven cities. Duckweed is a swamp goblin with a penchant for baking.
The dwarven man is Flint Gorunn, and the orc beside him is his daughter Yvelda. Flint is a humble blacksmith, and his daughter is his apprentice.
Then lastly, there is Dolly the firbolg! I was experimenting with NPCs aging in the background over the course of the campaign, which is why I have two drawings of her, one as a child and one as a teen.

Random Encounter:  The Hexmonger
“once you cross the language barrier, he’s actually one of the most reasonable mages I’ve ever had dealings with. Undoubtedly his soul’s as black and twisted as licorice but the fellow’s so nice you really can’t hold that against him. “ - Lord Dresly Pole, former werewolf
Setup: This Kenku Scholar was long ago warped while researching dark magics and the nature of the curse of mimicry that besets all of the crow-folk. This avian occultist is liable to show up in any dungeon, derelict estate, or desecrated temple the party may happen to be exploring, introducing himself as “Father Bell” by indicating the tattered priest’s vestments he wears and jingling accessory charms.
Using pantomime and snippets of stolen conversations, Father Bell will communicate his interest in any curses or forbidden texts the party will have stumbled across in their travels, gleefully trading these scraps of dark power as a tailor would scraps of fine fabric.  His interest in jinxes, maledictions, and other baleful forms of magic have made Bell a champion cursebreaker, capable of unweaving the most devilish of bedevilments if given enough payment for his troubles.
Correspondingly, Father Bell also sells the curses he breaks, using the kenku knack for forgery to reproduce long dead afflictions and redirect them onto unsuspecting targets.
Adventure Hooks:
While father bell pursues his dark endeavors alone, his identity has a breaker and maker of curses has attracted the attention of other dabblers and would be acolytes. The hexmonger employs these individuals as mouthpieces and gobetweens,  obscuring his activities and using them to evade the secular and spiritual authorities that would seek an end to his practice. It is likely the players will encounter these acolytes if they need to get a cursed removed,or if word gets around that they were adventuring in a traditionally haunted or otherwise forbidden place.
Hired to exorcise the haunting presence besetting an isolated manorhouse, the party encounters Father Bell when he saves them by banishing a terribly powerful spirit that had them backed into a corner. While initially helpful, it becomes increasingly obvious that the Kenku aims to bottle the haunting, rather than destroying it. Can the party trust their supposed savior with such dark power, or can they risk offending someone with the power to subdue the dead so easily?
Seeking to break the sleeping curse placed on her son by a rival family, a countess has kidnapped father bell, forcing him to perform cruel experiments in hopes of finding a solution. These experiments contaminate the local water supply, causing entire villages to sleepwalk, or collapse into an unending dream.
Further Adventure:
Among his research, Bell has found snippets of lore hinting at the existence of a dragon who hordes curses like others horde gold. Desperate to find more lore on a creature at once knowledgeable and apparently resistant to so much malign magic, the Hexmonger will use the party’s need for his services to get them to do much of the leg-work for him. When all is said and done, he will enlist their help one last time for an expedition to the dragon’s lair.

Jingle - The gambling Kenku (?)
I’ve been playing this character for a few months in a campaign and didn’t bother designing them until now haha. They’re a changeling that takes the form of a kenku, and they’re a psi-warrior fighter! They love gambling and goofing off.

I’ve decided that Mica, Luca, Jamie, Ashwin, Isla are being added to this blog.
That brings my count up to 72.
Meaning, i either add 3, 8, or 13 new muses.
Tumblr media
Here’s the list of possible muses. If one catches your eye, please sound off in the replies!! I’m unsure who to add as of now, but I have a pretty general idea from the poll / previous posts. But nothing is set in stone.

ATLAS, D&D based, a genderfluid elf who’s just tired

Because @glitter-garbage asked, I'm gonna tell yall about a character I just created for a single dnd session in my roommates campaign, we play Monday and I'm very excited!
Her name is Lettie and she is a Kenku modeled after large-billed crows. She's 4'1" and 7 years old. She lives with a tiefling woman named Aveni also known as the Willow Wraith (she built her home in between two trees up in the air and she creates illusory ghosts to scare people away) who found her as a child swaddled and hidden in the knot of a tree. Aveni took her in and raised her as her own. Lettie, unbeknownst to either of them, was stolen away to the feywild as a baby and through some means or another became infused with Wild Magic. The source of her magic is so potent that she has a lot of trouble controlling it, but Aveni also knows wild magic so she teaches her and is helping her gain control of her power.
Lettie's name is short for the sound of platinum coins jingling. It's late fall/early winter right now so she is wearing a patchwork coat that is slightly too big for her, slightly mismatched hand knitted red fingerless gloves, a yellow knitted toque and a large scarf wrapped several times around her neck (Aveni likes to make sure she's warm while they forage and look for components).
Her arcane focus is a staff that looks like it was made for someone at least a full foot taller than her. She keeps her prettiest baubles on the staff, there are strings of ornate buttons wrapped around it, a necklace pendant hangs from the top, there are probably brooches and earrings etc on it. She doesn't let anyone touch it ever. She carries a small backpack with her that mostly holds cool rocks and a book that she keeps with her where she presses flowers and plants to make collages.
She has an intelligence score of 5 and a charisma score of 18. She is my dumbest and cutest character and she's also a direct apology because these are the folks who had to put up with Ennui. She's level 8 and we've modified the wild magic surge rules so that she'll surge more often and I'm s o excited.

This is my character from a DND game that never happened XD
Their name is Boots! He loves jingle bells, and would sell literally anyone for a jingle bell. He’s traveling around the world to try and find as many different jingle bells as he can!!! He likes silver ones best, but he isn’t picky when it comes to them as long as they still jingle.
He is a Kenku Wizard, and he uses his jingle bells to communicate (sort of)!
There’s something off from my original sketch of Boots to the digital format, but I can’t figure it out lmao So, I’m gonna include the sketch below the cut: if you figure out what’s off please let me know

Hi I’m not dead and also playing a lot of d&d
top row is my kenku celestial warlock Bim-bam (or, church bell noises), who really likes bells and her mink familiar named Jingle (also known as cat bell noise)
The other two are comissions for arcane trickster drow Starlight Neversleeps, and the Babysitter’s guild’s guildmaster Kingfisher, a uniquely eloquent kenku druid.

More D&D nonsense. Doodled our Fire Genasi Warlock/Sorcerer? I don’t remember but he uses magic. He didn’t give me much to go off of, but I do remember his awesome star cloak he got recently. Figured he’s young looking, might add scars and such later on. Next up is our Captain, a Kenku. Who on our first session got a fun wizard hat that jingles. He still wears it.
