Hateration holleration, teevee edition, with important new critical evaluation features:

APPLES NEVER FALL (2024): Engrossing, often funny seven-part mystery-drama, based on a novel by Liane Moriarty, about the dysfunctional family of retired tennis pros Stan and Joy Delaney (Sam Neill and Annette Bening), whose four adult kids — rich dipshit Troy (Jake Lacy), hot mess Amy (Alison Brie), perpetually resentful Brooke (Essie Randles), and neurotic underachiever Logan (Conor Merrigan Turner) — begin to unravel after Joy mysteriously disappears. Did Stan kill her? Does Joy's disappearance have something to do with their former houseguest Savannah (Georgia Flood), a troubled young woman who had persuaded Joy and Stan to take her in under what may have been false pretenses? Everyone knows something more than they're telling, as the situation brings old resentments bubbling to the surface. Perhaps a smidgen too arch for its own good, and the shifting flashback structure sometimes makes it hard to keep track of the sequence of events, but consistently interesting and refreshingly nuanced, with well-drawn characters and excellent performances. (Neill, Bening, and Flood are particularly good.) Only the finale falls short: Certain key character motivations remain murky, and the final scenes are a bit flat, perhaps an inevitable consequence of a story that flits between tones and genres in a way that leaves it without a natural endpoint. Also, the South Florida setting isn't always convincing; big portions of the series were actually shot in Australia. CONTAINS LESBIANS? Yes! (More than one, even.) VERDICT: Flawed but worthwhile.

THE BROTHERS SUN (2024): One-season action-comedy-drama series about an infamous triad underboss from Taipei, Charles Sun (Justin Chien), who's sent to America to protect his mother (Michelle Yeoh) and younger brother Bruce (Sam Song Li) after a cunningly staged attack by an unknown enemy puts his father (Johnny Kou) in the hospital. Mama Sun scarcely needs protection, but the same isn't true of Bruce, a dorky pre-med student who really wants to do improv, and who's totally out of place in his family's world of ultraviolence and organized crime. Meanwhile, Charles' childhood friend Alexis (Highdee Kuan), who's still sweet on him, is now an ambitious assistant DA who sees taking down the triads as a defining career move. Starts off disarmingly light (though always quite violent), but gets significantly darker as it goes on, which really isn't to its credit — after the cheerful amorality of the early episodes, the increasingly maudlin themes of conflicted family loyalty feel heavy-handed, culminating in a credibility-straining climax with about as much subtlety as a cement mixer. It could also have used more Michelle Yeoh and less Sam Li, whose character is such a feckless dweeb that he sometimes grates. Chien actually makes Charles a more credible character than Bruce, impressive considering the level of pulpy plot contrivance involved. A planned second season was canceled, but except for a post-credits tag in the finale, the story feels reasonably complete. CONTAINS LESBIANS? Not so as you'd notice. VERDICT: Starts well, veers too far into turgid melodrama.

PALM ROYALE (2024): Fingernails-on-chalkboard would-be social satire, set in 1969 and featuring Kristen Wiig (with a singularly unconvincing Georgia accent) as conniving but vapid former beauty queen Maxine Simmons, who for some unaccountable reason is determined to wheedle her way into the Palm Beach upper crust, by hook or by crook, while secretly squatting in the mansion of society matron Norma Dellacorte (Carol Burnett), who almost no one realizes is actually in a coma. The glib voiceover narration recalls the early seasons of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, but with no bite and no apparent point — there's no reason to care about the premise, the plot, or any of the characters, who are neither sympathetic enough to be likable nor bitchy enough to be fun. Wiig is just awful, straining to prove she can do the kind of role that in recent years has usually gone to Margot Robbie; she can't, and she's obviously at least 10 years too old for her character. The period production design is suitably glossy, but an interesting supporting cast (including Laura Dern, Allison Janney, and Leslie Bibb) is completely defeated by the dreadful scripts, and Ricky Martin (built like a marble statue with acting to match) eventually arrives to stink up the proceedings as Norma's loyal houseboy. I only barely made it through the third episode, and the idea of enduring seven more is too painful to contemplate. If you're in the mood for genteel Southern bitchiness, you'd get more out of a highlight reel of Rue McLanahan scenes from THE GOLDEN GIRLS, which would actually be funny. CONTAINS LESBIANS? Not in the first three episodes. VERDICT: Alternately dull and agonizing.

Mini-review:

This was a very fun and entertaining binge-watch, although it's rather inconsistent in almost every way: the directing, the writing, the fight scenes and the acting of the supporting cast. All these elements have good and even brilliant moments, but they also have mediocre and downright bad moments. Luckily, the three leads always keep the ship afloat with their performances. It's great to see Michelle Yeoh getting the meaty roles she deserves, and both Justin Chien and Sam Song Li are two charismatic newcomers I'll pay attention to in the future. Anyway, despite its many flaws, I enjoyed The Brothers Sun and I ended up growing fond the characters. The ending was pretty satisfactory, but it's clear the writers left doors open for further seasons, and I wouldn't mind getting more.

Danganronpa Kirigiri - List of Detective Library members & their monster reps

In Danganronpa Kirigiri, the Triple Zero detectives of the Detective Library were based upon/referenced four types of monsters in fiction: ghost, werewolf, vampire and doppleganger. I always thought that was a pretty cool choice for Kitayama to go down and go to thinking what other types of monsters the other detectives would represent.

Which is basically what below is - a list of every named Detective Library member and monster would best fit them, in book order. As well as who represents the four monsters I mentioned above.

Main Duo:

Kyoko Kirigiri - Angel of Death (Now for Kyoko's monster I wanted something that best represents Kyoko's relation with Death and, ultimately her benevolent nature behind her stonefaced mask. So I chose her as the metaphorical Angel of Death - someone who brings about the end of those who have Fallen by uncovering the truth behind their misdeeds. Yet, in doing so, is also saving lives of those that were in danger because of the Fallen's actions. She also attends a religious school so it ties back well with those origins.

Yui Samidare - Powers (A type of angel in Christian theology and apart of the Middle Order of angels. Her whole thing is being a detective to protect others from evil and Powers are types of angels that hold the power to dispel or defeat evil. Also calls back to Yui being from a religious school. If I had to choose something else, I'd make Yui a guardian angel to match Kyoko being an angel of death. But, for reasons below, decided to forego it to complete another set )

DRK1:

Kou Inuzuka - Hellhound (Kou surname 'Inuzaka' contains the word for dog in Japanese, and Kou himself is an arsonist. Of the reps, I think this is one of the most fitting I've come up with)

Eigo Amino - Robot (Eigo is said to have zero presence or stands out, and he's a detective that poses as a businessman AKA a cog in a machine of office life. So I figured a robot was the best thing to compare him to)

Shiita Enbi - Zombie (Based upon the whole deal with him being dead all along, and also Tadashi's deal with having no legs, so kind of shambling about, reminds me of those types of zombies in horror games or shows)

Johnny Arp - Werewolf (From DRK Vol 6 - referred to heavily with wolfish traits or personality)

Gekka Ryuzoji - Vampire (From his design & titles; he's heavily based upon Count Dracula from the titular novel)

Rei Mikagami - Ghost (Comes from his epithet of 'Ghost in the Mirror' and his own ghostly ability to seemingly disappear from the scene with ease. Honorary mention goes to 'unicorn' given that's what his alias, Licorne, means in French).

DRK2:

Taehime Uozumi - Mermaid (Made her mermaid given her surname, Uozumi, is literally 'sleeping with the fishes'...and, okay, the pun with her fake profession was too tempting to pass up)

Suisei Nanamura - Father Time (Suisei is obsessed with time and managing it, so making him Father Time seemed pretty natural

Mikado Shinsen - Doppleganger (From his epithet, the Variationist, and skills as a master of disguise. Honorary mention goes to him being referred to as a Shinigami/Reaper by Chage and the connection he does have with the dead)

DRK 3

Hajiki Yaki - Devil (His DSC card is 666 which is considered a devilish number in Abrahamic religon, and his own thing is being a detective that goes against gambling - a type of deal with the devil?)

Salvador Yadorigi Fukuro - Gorgon (Okay, now, admittedly, this one is one of my weakest, but was inspired to call him a gorgon due to his own whole thing with his special eyes, and how he stunned Keisuke from DRK4 with the look of them. Stunning? Turning people to stone? A stretch? Kind of, but I still think it also kind of works so...)

Sachi Mizuiyama - Elf (Okay, beyond her getting an elf because she's short, was also inspried to give it to her based upon elves appearing young when they're actually older - something that's been pointed out about Sachi - and how elves/fairy-ish folk tend to have skewed moralities. Something that skewed me towards Sachi and her whole deal)

Korisu Kakitsubata - Succubus (Also one of my weakest, yet this one just feels so fitting. She dresses provocatively and acts seemingly benevolent, but that's hiding a malicious front to get away with claiming a soul. Plus, another case of her being related to fire and Succubi being from Hell - it just kind makes itself work out)

Suntetsu Shirasu - Underworld Gatekeeper (Chose this after a lot of internal debating, but decided this might be the most fitting? Like Gozu & Mezu or Cerberus, Suntetsu's actions decided who remains in the living and who has to remain in the afterlife. If there was a more fitting word for this type of monster, I'll gladly hear it out)

DRK4:

Tsukiyo Nada & Nazuna Toakitsu - Dominion & Virtue (Types of Angels in Christian theology and apart of the Middle Order set of angels with the Powers. Tsukiyo is Dominion given they govern celestial bodies & Tsukiyo's name refers to the night sky itself - ok that and her domineering personality. Naz is Virtue since one of its job is to bolster faith, and Naz is the most supportive of the duo in terms of helping out Yui to Salvador to Tsukiyo as well. Plus, they round out Yui being Power and also coming from a religious school)

DRK5:

Tatsutora Oboro - Bakaneko (Ok, the weakest one out of the lot, but also didn't really want to spend too much time on a minor guy like Oboro. As such, with part of his name, 'Tora', meaning tiger the idea that came to mind was a simple monster cat!)

DRK 6:

Motosuke Suzuyari - Yeti (He's in the icy mountains, described as being kind of wild looking. It writes itself)

Ayako Saiko - Witch (@drmedicsgamesurgery holds credit for the intiial placeholder as being a 'Mad Scientist'. However, mad scientists aren't technically monsters, I decided to swap it with the mad scientist of monster: a witch)

DRK 7:

Shiroko Yukimura - Yuki-onna (I got this based upon her part of her name 'Shiro' meaning white and the fact she appeared in a snowy setting)

Senshi Kadomi - Giant (Big guy with a knack for violence to get what he wants? Yeah, Senshi was pretty much hardlocked into being a giant from early on)

Kanji Yuhain - The 1st Horseman/Conquest/Pestilence/White Rider (I went with the 1st Horseman of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, after being inspired from Yuhain riding to Sirius on top of a white horse which symbolizes conquest or pestilence in the modern age. Both fit Yuhain as a guy who seeks to conquer the detective world as the King of Detectives and given his corrupt nature, he can very much be considered a pestilence.)

Bite My Shiny Metal Ass (Kou's body lore dump)

As a disclaimer, back in the days when I started working on Kou’s post-canon story, I decided not to stick with canon in terms of technologies. I bought this ‘we can’t find a donor for you’ thing and built everything around her getting a full-metal body, yet, I needed her to be capable of certain things (read: to get laid without plugging cables in 100500 ports) so I basically made her an artificial human instead of traditional fullborg. New-gen borg it is! So if something of my ‘tech’ contradicts the canon, it’s because I decided not to limit myself by sticking with it.

Story >>> canon accuracy, this is the way.

So, the body. I headcanon that long ago along with developing relic technology Arasaka also started working on creating a perfect fake human body. First, because it’d make a relic tech more salable: you don’t need to care about finding a proper donor, so you could get those clients who don’t have blood related relatives or actually care about them (yes, Saburo, it is a dick for YOUR summer hat). Second, the tech basically consists of the three major parts — the body itself, the digital 'soul', and the code which make it all work together — and since all three would be Arasaka’s property it’d make such clients totally dependent on the corporation.

They advanced fast with the code and chrome parts but were stuck with one issue: the engrama still needed an old good meat brain to parasite into, and no matter how they tried, they couldn't crack brain cloning. So, they made someone else do the work for them.

After the game events Biotechnica went against the Soulkiller tech, claiming it unethical, and decided to cut their piece of the new market by providing 'morally correct' full cloned bodies for engrammas to claim. They were successful but they didn’t last long enough to taste the fruit of their labor: in the final stages of testing their facility in Brazil was raided, and brain-cloning tech was stolen. It caused Biotechnica’s collapse, and a lot of their technologies ended up in the free market. Brain cloning, though, was kept by Arasaka for themselves.

Early prototypes of new-gen borgs were quite… straightforward, and basically they were just nicely looking human shaped pieces of chrome. First tests showed insane rates of cyberpsychosis cases, so to make it salable, they had to advance both chrome and code further, creating a body capable of perfectly imitating organic processes. It worked, but the code was too complicated for meat brains to process, so the body’s passengers should’ve either gone through the long and unpleasant process of learning how to do it themselves or to rely on Arasaka’s satellite support system for the rest of their lives.

So, when it came to bringing Kou’s back to life, they had it all well tested, yet there was a challenge, as well.

The thing is she was put in her shelf in Mikoshi without plans of resurrecting her: they tried, tho, first with finding a donor, then with a borg way, but her DNA samples were no good for growing a healthy cell colony. However there was an opportunity, that with a clean sample of Johnny’s DNA, they would be able to get all the ‘trash’ out, and eventually the sample was delivered. (This part was created before I found out that there is a story behind real Johnny’s body and shit, so I stick to the oil field grave thing here)

But why spend so much money and effort on some mercenary whose biggest strength was in slicing people left and right? Kou’s aint a big brain netrunner after all, and all her skills were gone, wasted with the muscle memory of her original body. Obligation to nobody trash girl obviously wasn’t a thing that bothered Saburo much. Kou would’ve stayed on her shelf forever, if not for her allies.

Hanako Arasaka was introduced by the plan and managed to support it in front of her Father: Kou will be brought back, but not as a charity. She’d be in debt of Arasaka who’d owned both her body and soul, and would have to work this debt out as their agent. Everyone involved understood that such debts could not ever be worked out (you always can add some more to it, charing Kou for fixing broken parts, you know), but it was better than nothing, and the person behind the project idea promised to make sure that Kou would eventually agree to these terms.

They had another plan in their mind, but nobody should’ve known about this.

Back to the chrome! Till then Arasaka was producing only 'civil' bodies, because most of the SYS participants were rich people, they simply didn't need battle implants and software. But Arasaka agents were another story, they needed to be capable, yet they should've been sane enough to solve problems more complicated than ‘go and kill everyone’. So, they’ve made some changes.

I.e. Kou’s realskin is more dense then the common one, yet it’s so high quality you can’t distinguish it from human flesh my touch. (I HC tho, there are some hints, like her skin barely holds smell on it, doesn't change its color when she’s supposed to blush or get pale etc). But even with this update she needs to wear armor and subdermal implants because it turned out that being able to bleed is an essential part of staying ‘human’. She also have her legs augmented for jumping and keeping the balance; her reflexes are boosted to insanely high speed, she’s got a chrome spine to carry her frame (she weights fairly lot), a flagman cyberdeck (which is laughable because her netrunning skill are joke), optic and, of course, blades — and lots and lots new lines of code to make it all operating together.

The body itself is a very complicated tech, whose first goal is to pretend to be real. It doesn’t mean that she has all body systems duplicated as they’re in the human body, but her ‘organs’ serve the same goal. I.e. her ‘liver’ doesn’t look like a liver, it’s a system of sensors and filters that keeps the body clean. Her digestive system is a combo of ‘battery’ and ‘human guts’: she needs calories to keep her meat brain alive but doesn't really need to eat, technically, but eating helps her to stay sane. Yeah, this poor borg girl still has to poop. I’m so sorry, baby.

Of course, this fine piece of tech wasn’t given her on pure trust basis, and even tho she had no choice but to agree with her contract terms, her supervisor, the person who came up with idea to bring her back as ‘saka agent, got granted the access codes that could let them interfere in her processes or even cut her off the satellite support, making her body just a pile of dead metal.

Ah well, did I mention it was Goro?

He never abused it though, even when she tried to kill him, he broke both of her arms to stop her instead of using the magic button. I mean, it would be hella disrespectful to treat her as she's a machine, and Goro is not like this, right? xD Later, after their escape, Kou got her codes changed first with her fixer team, then, once again, in Night City. After that she gave new codes to Goro, just in case. He never abused them then, either.

So, one last topic to cover is THE LOOK. When I was creating the story I was living with the idea that ‘saka didn’t care about Kou’s appearance even barely resembling her old one, so they just took a standard body made for the inner market for her. But when I created her in her new body in game she turned out to be crazily pretty. So, I have altered my story a bit: since she’s supposed to be a corporation property she should've looked accordingly, so they designed her frame and face to be an Arisaka cover girl.

Goro kept as much distance from the process of her creation as he could, but he had to interfere once. Arasaka, of course, installed its own optic into Kou’s eye sockets, but on his last visit to Night City Goro’s got “Kiroshi” with Kou’s favorite lenses integrated. Vik gave them to him in exchange of the promise that when she’s back to life she’d be looking on the world through her own eyes. This is the episode he isn’t proud about, because he basically had to psychology crash the medtech for them to change her optics and to erase all the data about it from the databases. This really wasn’t cool (because it was fukking HOT).

And, of course, as anyone with such an amount of chrome Kou's balancing on the verge of cyebrpsycosys. She, basically, has it, but mostly in remission, yet if she stops caring about 'body maintenance (aka skipping meals, abusing sleeping system, or even killing way to much people) she's at risk of having cyberpsycitic strikes. They usually come as auto-aggression and are shaped in attempts to get rid of human likeness 'because we all know who I really am". But gladly, since she still has something (someone) to care about she always gets back to her normal state and her 'stupid routine'.

The brothers Sun

The Brothers Sun is a "Heartwarming" Gangster tale. I say heartwarming because its set with family as the backdrop. The two Brothers at the center of this amazing series on Netflix are complete opposite of each other and that is what pushes this series ahead into 8 episodes. Each episode is action packed but surely not unpredictable as you know what is coming up.

An amazing chinese styled theme sets the series off to a great start. This theme is composed By Mathew Nathan David and Nick Lee. It's this theme that caught my attention and grabbed my interest to the series. Each Episode has songs that will make you hum along and want more of these tunes. The soundtrack is worth downloading. Its sure going to be my valued soundtrack collection.

Actor Justin Chien as Charles Sun is one of the brothers, Sam Song Li as Bruce is the other brother, Academy award winner Michelle Yeoh plays mama to them. The tale revolves around this family with father Johnny Kou playing Big Sun - the head of the gangster family.

Charles stays with his dad who has turned him into a weapon to protect the family. He's a ruthless killer machine. An attack on Charles, who loves baking when he's not killing, brings his dad out from his hiding and he gets hit as he is the original target. Charles travels to Los Angeles to find and protect his mom and brother who have shifted there long ago and the entire series then shifts to LA. The women in the lives of the two brothers play a crucial role in the series. The one in Bruce's life is the head of suppressor group which is trying to right the people who have been wronged by the Triads during conflicts. In the words of her gang called Boxers " The Riddance of Evil must be thorough". They are the ones behind the attack of Charles and The Big Sun and now out to kill the heads of all the triads. That is their main aim. Since the protagonists are the Sun Brothers, Grace of THE BOXERS group can be termed as the Main Antagonist of the series despite a "good purpose" as the aim of the boxers.

The woman in Charles' life is an ambitious and righteous district attorney Alexis who ws his childhood friend. She becomes an antagonist in her quest to bring the triad heads to the prison and that means going against Charles and his Dad. This brings them at loggerheads and casts an unbridgeable divide between them. The poignancy of their separation is felt when Charles is about to leave LA and shift to Taipei to protect his mother. He is still waiting for her hoping she would come to bid him goodbye. but she dsnt and is shown as address the media and reveling in her win and future prospects.

It's a series that will surely keep you hooked onto your chairs and not get up till over. I am going to find other series by Brad Falchuk and Byron Wu and watch them.

This is just an event to commemorate 1 year of being a writer on tumblr. This will probably be the most content I will deliver in a while. But then again, thank you so much! Just curious since you post some japanese music related stuff recently... how was your progression music wise? Did you get into jpop because of anime and stuff like so many and naturally migrated to kpop in later years? Do you still listen to japanese music and what are some of your favourits? So far I value your impaccable taste!

hi anon, you got it right! i grew up watching anime, got into jpop and jrock, then discovered kpop thanks to my friends and boa who's still my favourite singer 💓 i admit i don't follow jpop the same way as i used to, i'm not very familiar with newer popular artists but i listen a lot of my old faves. it's probably not gonna surprise you that i've always liked idols, especially from h!p (and also johnny's), later akb48 and their sister groups. i also love ggs like perfume or zone and sooooo many soloists. utada hikaru and nakashima mika will always be my most beloved ones but i also listen to otsuka ai, amuro namie, hoshino gen, hirai ken, yaida hitomi, mukai taichi, shibasaki kou, sheena ringo, miliyah... as for more groups, from the top of my head i could name paris match, yuzu, moumoon, monkey majik, bennie k, foxxi misq, capsule... sorry for listing so many but i could seriously go on and on and on... 😅 i'm sure you know how it is lol!

lately i've been in the mood for endlicheri*endlicheri, some of his stuff is great for emo days 🫠

Etiqueta todas las advertencias, hay algunos temas con los que no me siento cómoda.

Debes de etiquetarme en tu fic, sé que algunas personas ya no hacen listas de etiquetados, desgraciadamente Dumblr no me notifica las publicaciones de otros blogs y no tengo tiempo de checar blog por blog porque sigo a muchas personas.

Cada viernes la lista semanal será publicada (a menos que pase algo en mi vida), las listas contendrán entre 7 a 28 fics recomendados.

Utiliza “leer más” si el número de palabras es mayor a 500, a veces los guardo en mis borradores.

👱‍♀️- Meredith Stout

It started with a biz! Meredith needed some not…really legal service and someone who would work with a corpo with no extra questions. She didn't want to work with Dino for some reason (read, there was a huge chance the deal would be a setup and Mer didn't want to ruin the relationship with someone serious). So, she went for some almost-no-name Charter Hill bitch.

However, the Charte Hill bitch managed to avoid the bad consiquenses of the deal with impressive ease, so she was definitely worth further cooperation… and something more. What was planned as a one-night stand became more than this, but their relationship was never easy. Meredith didn't want anything serious and tried to get their biz and their connection separate, while Rachel desperately wanted to have both sides of Meredith Stout to herself. But even after Meredith gave up and accepted the fact she does care about her fixer-lets-le-real-girlfriend, the struggle remained due to a lot of issues both sides had. They even broke up in 2077 for several years and had to use a layer to set up the conditions after they ended up together again xD

🧺- Anders Hellman

Oops, they never met. I mean she might know smth about him during her years in Arasaka, but they never met in person and had no relationship.

🦾- Johnny Silverhand

The same goes to Johnny, 'cuz Rachel interest mostly revolved around taking her place in the city's food chain, she had no idea about some not-so-dead-rockerboy.

They crossed their ways with Kou several times (one day I'll write a story of her ruining Rachel's only Jungudji dress left) but they haven't been close back then, just on friend-of-my-dead-friend level, so there was no chance Kou would talk about Johnny with her.

❔- Michiko Arasaka

And here she comes!

They become acquaintances in post-canon events. I HC that after being resurrected in Yori's body tighten the screws for anyone whom he even slightly suspected of taking his son's side. He had nothing on Michiko, yet, he made sure she's tied to Arasaka more seriously then before and tried to control her. Michiko wasn't truly fond of getting ripped off her usual freedom, so she started digging against 'her own', and eventually, she got a very long game planned. And for this, she needed an ally.

At that point, Rachel already had a solid reputation and open Wako's support. She was in the middle of a power struggle with Rogue, so when Michiko came to her they managed to help each other. The trust between them was slow to build, but on some level, they understood each other perfectly and each came to conclusion it's more profitable to play it fair with each other.

So, at some point, they came to the point that they both were really interested that their littel 'bird buiseness' ended up successfull (and spoiler, it did)

For Kou:

🍙 - Goro Takemura

Well, well, well. Let's say before Kou started seeing Goro as her friend she had so seen him as human. From the start he was nothing just some stubborn corpo suit she was forced to cooperate with, but the magic happened when he told her to go fuck herself, she even stood in the middle of the crossroad somewhere in the North Side processing this message.

He annoyed her A LOT (which was mutual xD), and she couldn't stand his attitude towards the Night City. She even started her little crusade aiming to change his mind about the place, taking him to her fav places, loading his DMs with shitloads shots of NC's beauty. It wasn't really successful, tho xD

Not long before the recon she realized she's got some extra feelings towards her friend and tried to solve this 'problem' quite straightforward and was politely rejected (because the keyword in 'idiots in love' is the fact BOTH are idiots)

Goro also went a long way from 'stupid thief' via 'the asset to achieve the noble goal' to 'a person I do really care about but not ready to accept this fact until she dies'

I also HC that game events take the whole summer of 2077 so they both have enough time for pinning and being idiots xD

💴- Hanako Arasaka

Hanako is someone… unreachable. They had little interactions, just canon ones, nothing extra, and there is no real relationship between them, esp if you ask Kou. From Hanako's side, it's more complicated tho, since she took her obligation to V quite seriously, and tried to fulfill them as much as she could.

She not only supported Kou's resurrection but also secretly covered her and Goro's escape (he is still sure Hanako had no idea about him working against Arasaka for his own plans, haha).

👁- Sandayu Oda

Oh, Oda. Unfortunately, he dies very early in my post-canon storyline, so he and Kou didn't have a chance to know each other better, and it's quite sad because they have a lot in common and could make a wonderful mix of friends and rivals one day.

But yeah, all that they had were meeting in the docks, and that fight on the parade that Kou won by using dirty tricks and unconventional psycological weapons (aka was distracting him with the nasty details of her and Goro made up sex life), and some interactions during the devil ending. Kou has a low opinion about him back in 2077, but later it changes and she even slightly regrets she had no chance to know him better

She mostly known Yori by his actions and rumors surrounding him and basically thinks he's nothing but poser and moron. To have so much money and power and to fuck them up on some childish rebelion? Oh, c'mon. Even his final speech doesn't change her mind, for her he always stays some out-of-reality-wannabe-idealist whos death is only logical.
