Smoking It Away Pt 3:

Summary: After the 6 weeks are up, Aaron comes to pick you up from rehab with Miles in the car, part of him wants to apologise for sending you away, the other knows what he's done is right, while Miles desprately tries to press you to talk to him.

Miles and Aaron exited the Rehab, Aaron had to fight every thought in his head to not run back in and bail you out while Miles stared into the distance with the growing feeling of regret sitting within him. And as they approach the car Aaron goes to take a final look at facility before riding off.

As they begin to ride off back into the wooden area, Aaron keeps looking back at Miles through the rear view mirror as he keeps looking back at your empty seat, he can see his nephew is struggling, wallowing in his own dilema of if he had done the right thing. They sat in silence through the entire of the trip back to Brooklyn, and once they pulled up outside Mile's home, Aaron dropped him off.

Miles Dragged himself slowly up the fire escape and entered his room, flopping onto his bed, laying their motionless for awhile until he heard his door knob click, and his parents shuffle into the room they looked down at him sadly.

Jeff: "So, how did it go?"

Miles: "What do you mean, 'How did it go?' We dropped her at the rehab and left her there"

Usually Miles parents would scould him for his sass, but all things considered it was reasonable that he would be upset, Rio exchanaged a look with her husband and exited his room.

Jeff: "I didn't think he would actually do it"

Rio: "What do you mean?"

Jeff: "I didn't think he had it in him to send her off to a rehab where he wasn't with her for almost a month, I thought maybe he'd chicken out and just take her home."

Rio: "Well, It's for the best I'm sure"

Meanwhile poor Aaron was sitting in the dark of his empty house back on your phone scrolling through it, scanning over all your personal texts and photos, selfies of you smoking or snorting and all he wanted was to find who ever the hell your dealer was, and he thought to look through your call list.

Honestly if you didn't want him to find your supplier you should have came up with a better contact name, He thought how should he deal with this, this stranger that was posioning you for so long, he could go all Prowler on him and take him out, but he left that life far behind so why not hand this phone over to Jeff, surley he, or the police could sort through it until they found the adress of this 'Pluggg'.

He clicked off your phone and set it on the table, never had he been more aware that he was alone in the house, of course he had been alone before and had also known the feeling of having children and not knowing where they were, the stress and worried pacing calling you again and again with it going to voice mail and having to wait home until he would hear your window creek open and sound of you falling into bed, and now he was so upset with himself for not going into your room to scould you, but now that ne knew you were home, he could sleep.

And now he was alone, but atleast he had the knowledge were you where, that should he a comfort but really it just made him feel weak for having had given you do then.

As he walked down the hall he peered into your room to see how much he had torn it up. The emptied draws, the completely stripped bed, the hollowed out wardrobe and most of all the glaring whole in the floor, the missing floor board that once housed your goodie box of hard drugs.

He got into his lone bed, checking his phone to see a missed call from Jefferson, So he called him back.

ring

Aaron: "Hey"

Jeff: "Hey...You good man?"

Aaron: "I'm...I don't know man"

Jeff: "I know. But I think You did the right thing"

Aaron: "Did I?" He ran his hand over his face.

Aaron: "What If it is just teenage shit? what if-"

Jeff: " Aaron...You found MDMA and cocaine in the floor"

Aaron: "I know...I know"

Jeff: "This should teach her, or help atleast...You go through her phone again?"

Aaron: "Yeah actually, I think I found his number"

Jeff: "His number? As in the dealer?"

Aaron: "Yeah I think so, If it's not this 'plug' guy it's this Stella girl"

Jeff: "Stella? Who's she?"

Aaron: "Y/n little friend who's a bit of a star girl, looking through these texts it seems she is the one buying half the time"

Jeff: "That's supplying, I could arrest her"

Aaron: "I don't know, I don't know" He groaned.

...

Jeff: "Don't go back man"

Aaron: "But wha-"

Jeff: "Aaron if you go back she'll know that she can get away with this type of behaviour, You'll be telling her that it's fine, she has to know their she can't just step on you"

Aaron: "Yeah...Yeah I guess"

After the next six weeks Aaron avoided going back to his apartment as all costs, hanging around the Morales house into late hours, then wondering the streets for hours until sunrise, only returning to the house when he had too, counting down the days until he could bring you home.

Needless to say once the six weeks ran out the whole family were looking forward to your retrun, of course Miles was stressing about you 'not talking to him' as you said you would, but Rio was just glad to get her surrogate daughter back.

The day finally came for Aaron and Miles to pick you up, Aaron felt ealted that he would finally have you home, had had almost no contact with you, only letters, and by the end of the program he had only sent 3, he never got a response and he wasn't sure if it was beacuse you weren't allowed to write back, or that you wouldn't.

So while Miles and Aaron drove off out of Brooklyn to pick you up, Jeff and Rio where in your home setting up a small welcome home party, nothing big, just cake with juice and a banner, yes it was strange that they would do this after a rebab stint, but they just missed you so very much.

Jeff had written out a mildy threatning speech to read to once you got home, and Rio was gleefully icing the cake.

The car ride was long and quite until finally they reached the facility, Aaron rushedly walked in to the reception where be began to sign you out while Miles kept checking you through the glass doors, and oh how happy Arron was to see his girl walking out that hallway, you looked tired.

Miles: "Hey!"

Once you made it through the doors, Miles went to hug you only to be meet with the hand, pushing him away.

Aaron can't help but also try and hug you, and through you tried to push him off, he still took you into a tight embrace.

Aaron: "Its good to see you baby" He holds you for several seconds almost sufficating grasp, finally he would be at ease that he had gotten you back, Miles kept looking for eye contact with you but you refused to meet his gaze.

Aaron took your bags from you forcefully and carried them back to the car, Miles trasped behind you as Aaron put your bags in the back of the car, Miles sat in the front with Aaron while you were in the back, he put on the radio and began to drive.

Aaron kept looking back at you through the rear mirror, he was so happy to have you back.

Aaron: "So baby, how did it go?"

Y/n: "Just drive Aaron" You heard Miles sharply inhale.

Aaron: "Aaron? We doing that now huh?" His hands tighted round the wheel, he had just gotten you back and already you were casusing problems.

...

Aaron: "Okay then" He mumbeld to himself tensing.

Miles: "We missed you Y/n"

You don't dignify him with any kind of response.Half way through the road trip home, you desprately needed to pee you knew you should have gone before you left the facility, and lucky you saw a gas station up ahead.

Y/n: "Can we pull over? I need to pee"

Radio silecne from both your Dad and you cousin.

Y/n:" Hellllo? Dad Can we pull over I need to pee"

Aaron: "I'm not Dad, I'm Aaron aren't I?"

Y/n: "Are you serious?"

Aaron: "You wanna call me by my name on your first day back out, and you expected me to pull over for you?"

Y/n: "You are a grown ass man, why are you being so fucking petty?"

Aaron: "Don't swear in my car"

Y/n: "Pull over I need to pee"

Aaron: "You can hold it"

Y/n: "Aaron, what is wrong with you? Let me out this car"

Aaron: "You are thin Ice Y/n"

Miles looked back at you in the rear view mirror, you made a moment of eye contact and you could see in his face he was pleading for you to shut the hell up.

Y/n: "Or what? You don't have anywhere else you can abandon me in"

The car comes to a sudden stop in the middle of this empty road.

Aaron: "Excuse me?"

Y/n: "you heard what the fuck I said"

...

Aaron: "Get out my car"

Y/n: "Excuse me?"

Aaron: "You heard me"

Y/n: "Are you serious?"

Aaron: "You heard me, you wanna talk to me like that your first day out you can make your own way home"

Y/n: "This is a motor way sourounded by trees"

Aaron: "Get. Out. The. Car"

And so you did, Miles watched as you got out the car with just one of your bags and walk off the road and onto the side walk, Miles was stunned by his Uncle giving him a stunned look, Aaron picks up on this and returns him a calm unbothered look.

Miles: "What was that?!"

Aaron: "Don't worry man, we'll turn back in 20 minutes and pick her up by the gas station, then maybe she'll shut up"

Miles: "What if she goes off into the woods?"

Aaron: "I dout it"

And just as Aaron said they turned back 20 minutes later to find you sitting with your bag out side the Gas station Aaron knew well enough you wouldn't go walking in the woods and you knew your father wouldn't actually leave you, Your Dad pulled up next to you and rolled down the window and gave you a apethtic look.

Aaron: "You ready to apologise?"

Y/n: "...No" Aaron also predicted that.

Aaron: "Get in the damm car Y/n"

The rest of the drive home was quite and uneventfull, droned out by the radio and once you two finally made it home of course you where relieved to be somewhere familair, but all you really wanted was to sleep in your own bed, Aaron shuttled you into the aparment with Miles and you were greeted with Rio and Jeff smiling at you with a cake, and a banner saying 'welcome home'.

Rio Comes in to hug you tightly giving you a kiss on the cheek while Jeff looks on at you unimpressed, some how still mad at you even it's been 6 whole damm weeks since you had been in the home, you took your bags and simply walked past them dissmissivly and dropped them in your room, shutting the door not wanting to engage with them, Rio was clearly hurt by this so Miles went in after you.

He was you laying on your bed face down clearly exhausted.

Miles: "Y/n"

Miles: "Y/n I know you aren't asleep"

Miles: "Y/n!" He yelled shoving you bit.

Miles: "Get your ass up, the whole family put this together for you and you won't even say hello to my Mom?"

...

Miles: "Get the hell up" He shoved you again.

Miles: "I'm not playing with you get the hell UP!" He pulled off the bed by your shoulders and onto the floor.

Y/n: "What is wrong with you?!"

You picked yourself off from the floor, shoving him away from you.

Y/n: "I just want to sleep in my own bed"

Miles: "It's 11:00?"

Y/n: "Miles, Ive been sleeping in a rock hard bed in a building full of crazy people for six weeks all I want is to sleep in my own room, can you fuck off for god's sake"

Miles: "I honestly don't care, get your ass out there before I drag you down the fucking hall"

Y/n: "Yeah yeah whatever" And so you deafeatedly walked out your room to re greet your family who were already upset at you for dismissing them so quickly sat you down to cut the cake, you kept making eye contact with your Uncle Jeff, unwillingly meeting his cold gaze.

Rio handed you a plate with a slice of cake on it placing a hand on your shoulder, you Dad through clearly still bitter about earlier was also so very glad to have you home.

Rio: "look how thin she's gotten, clearly they didn't feed you right"

She was right, they did feed you, but mostly it was raw veggies and porridge and how much you wanted to fight the dinner lady for feeding you such grule, she said it was to help with with drawls, but it clearly brought her joy to feed you all the worst possible things imagineable.

Miles: "Yeah what they feed you there?"

You roll your eyes at him as the family gathers around you all feeding on the cake and pouring juice in their little cups, as you were bombarded with questions.

Rio: "Where they good to you their?"

Y/n: "Well I guess, They made us go to a funreal home at one point that wasn't great"

Jeff: "They did that to show you what could have happened if we hadn't caught and sent you off"

Y/n: "...okay" You weren't really sure what the correct response to any of these rehab realted questions where, is was rehab it wasn't supposed to be nice.

The family had gone stale due to your unwillingness to make actual conversation, so Jeff took this as the time to whip out is 'speech' which was actually just a fancy written threat.

Jeff stood in front the whole family with his paper in hand.

Jeff: "Ahem..Y/n during you absence in recent weeks we all missed you greatly and are happy for your return, and while you were gone I thought about what might have happened if Miles hadn't alerted us to what you were doing"

'Alerted? You mean snitched the little rat'

Jeff:" Every year thousands die in this city of drug overdoses, it starts with weed, and escaltes into harder things, like Cocaine, or MDMA, like you, and we are all so gratfeul to Miles for choosing to tell us, rather than wait"

Miles smirked at you from across the couch.

Jeff: "I have had the burden of informing familes's that their children had passed due to drug overdoses, and I will not allow you to be another I will not have you in a morgue dead and cold because you wanted to have fun with your 'friends' I, along with the family will not allow you to destroy yourself for your own selfish and frivalous indevours" He folded the paper in his hands and sat back down as the family began to slowly clap since the speech came to such a strange and sudden stop, he wasn't great a public speaking, obviously.

Later into the 'party' Miles was despratley trying to make proper converstation with you, unwillingly giving him short unresponsive answers, Auntie Rio was fawning over your changes in apperance, and she was right to say you looked 'rough', your skin had broken out due to stress, your hair looked like shit, you had lost weight, you nails had been chewed right to the end, truly it had been an unpleasant six weeks.

Rio: "Your hair looks so dry nina, did you not take care of it?"

Y/n: "My Dad only packed me shampoo in bag"

Rio: "Oh...Why?"

Y/n: "I think He's forgotten what it's like to have hair so he though that would be enough, bald little man"

Rio: "Oye, Don't be rude hehe" She giggled under her breath, this is what your usual interactions were like, not the cold stare on the couch when you were finally caught.

Rio: "ah well, we'll get you sorted yeah? Get you some Argon oil...and some face masks for all thisss" She dragged out the 'sss' gesturing to your terrible skin.

Y/n: "Yeah, that would be nice"

Jeff took Aaron into the next room for a little chat regarding your Plug, if he were to dissapear into the system he could no longer supply you, but the other problem came about with Stella, she clearly shown by your texts often was the buyer, and simply shared with you, and It wasn't reasonable to imagen going after her legally since her family had so much damm money they could easily have all this swept under the rug.

Aaron: "So you find him?"

Jeff: "Yep, we skimmed through Y/n's phone and we got him, his adress his name all of it, we should have in custody by next week, until then don't give Y/n any means of contacting him"

Aaron: "Do you know how hard it is to keep a teenager off the internet, and you want me to do it for a week? If you know who the guy is why not do it now?"

Jeff: "Because that's not how it works Aaron"

Aaron: "great" He said through gritted teeth.

Jeff: "What are you going to do about this Stella girl? She seem's to be her drug buddy"

Aaron: "I don't know man, her family's rich as hell it's not like she could be arrested"

Jeff: "I could arrest her, it's a case of it sticking"

Aaron: "I don't know man, but I'll take care of it"

Eventually the family scooted out the house leaving you alone with your Dad, Rio promised to take you out this coming weekend to get your nails done together as you sometimes would, and Miles still recived a cold glare from you, with you in your room unpacking all your stuff, your Dad leaned against the door frame of your room.

Y/n: "I see you put up bars on my window, classy"

Aaron: "It could be temporary, if you keep in line"

Y/n: "Yeah Yeah"

Aaron: "I'm glad to have you back Y/n, really I missed you"

Y/n: "Okay, I guess"

...

Aaron: "I don't want you hanging round that Stella girl anymore, she's a bad influence"

Y/n: "And how would you know? Youv'e only spoken to her like twice"

Aaron: "I know because you only started acting out like this when you met her, and she's in all your secret little photos on your phone, and she's the one buying you shit when youv'e already spent all your money!"

Y/n: "You went through my phone?"

Aaron: "Of course I went through your phone I found drugs under the floor boards!"

Y/n: "That's an invasion of my privacy!"

Aaron: "HA! Privacy? Y/n I don't think you understand what's happening, You don't have any damm privacy since your brought drugs in my house, no phone, no laptop and if you keep pushing it this way you aren't going to have a door, and if I see Stella or see you talking to her I'll keep those bars up, end of okay?"

...

Aaron: "Okay?!"

Y/n: "FINE!"

Aaron: "Don't yell at me in my own house!"

Y/n: "My house, My Door My window My daughter, I am 17 you do not own me-!"

Aaron: "You are a minor! and as long as you live under my roof NO STELLA I am your father and WE are family, don't be priortise her over your family"

Y/n: "I'll be out this house soon enough!"

Aaron: "I'd love to see you find a home in this economy!"

Y/n: "Whatever Aaron"

Aaron: "Call me that again, see what happens" He yells as he exits your room, closing the door behind him.

Y/n: "AARON!"

Aaron: "NO MORE DOOR"

Werwolf dia makes me wanna run around in circles lmao. Like at first he absolute terrified you shitless but hes actually just a lonely softie looking for love and head pats😂

Imagine you just moved into a farm house and noticed some sort of hut made of twigs and grass around the tree line. First you think its prolly just a pile of disposable yard waste the previ owners didn’t clean up but the hut kind of has some strange entrance on the side. Theres also some kind of animal bone??? Eh may be its a bear that used to burrow here :-/.

WRONG. You drove home late one night and noticed the entire property is unusually quiet, not even crickets. You park your car on the drive way and immediately notice large amber orbs staring at you from the tree-lines. You dont know wtf it is. Maybe its the bear maybe its those poachers playing tricks on you. Whatever it is it freaking you tf out so you bolt to your porch struggling to open the door. You feel vibrations behind you. Its not those poachers, its prolly larger than a bear and way faster. You hear its breathing and growling. You close the door and lock it just in time to hear your front porch creek and snap from it massive weight. Whatever this thing was is now circling your entire house, you do a 360 in your home and locked all the doors and windows. You are now scared as shit, holding a butcher knife against your front door. What ever it was is trying to get into your house and you can feel it scratching at the wood, its breath rumbles through the walls and you can feel it breeze thru the tiny gap underneath the door. It wiggled your door knob several times and scratched some more, looking to find away in. Finally you peaked from the curtains in you kitchen to see this big ass lycan scratching away at your front door. Looks like a male and he must be at least 9 ft tall. Hes fucking massive and the red fur on his back made him look even bigger. Hes right in front of the porch blocking you access to your car , the only choice is to barricade yourself and wait till he leaves. You do exactly that and eventually he scurries away but you can help but notice a slight whimpering he made while walking away dejected.

This went of for a full week, before night fall you lock and barricade your house. The red werwolf would come scratching your door, sometimes it stands in its hind legs and stares directly at your 2nd floor bedroom window. Sometime it jumps onto the roof of your porch and tries to look thru ur curtains but you always have ur curtains closed, fearing he might find you. You also noted that, aside from scratching, he never damaged your property, never flipped your car, or broke your roof. Its almost like hes trying to terrorize you in a polite way. This went on for a week until one day he stopped, but that was also the night you hear yelling and gun shots. They sounded like those asshole poachers but u knew better than to step outside of safety. The next morning you find some naked guy with red hair unconscious on your drive way, 2 gun shot wounds on his shoulders. You tried to wake him up but he only hummed and groaned in pain. Its going to take a while for any paramedic to get to your place so you thought maybe you can clean his shoulder and patch it up and then just leave the rest to him.

Dude literally sprung up while you were trying to disinfect his bullet wound and hes just— “ awww I was wondering when you would say hi to me. I always tried to say hello but you just ran back to your house 🥺🥺”

And u are just sitting there completely dumfounded like— so THIS is the werewolf/guy what was chasing me and scratching my door every night??? HIM???????? This grade A juicy looking steak dude?? Man boobies outta the world kinda guy?? 👁👄👁

Turns out hes been living here his whole life but in complete isolation since he literally scared everyone that ran into him. He really was just tryna say hello and he didnt mean to scare you. He just got so excited that someone moved in and he might actually get to socialize. He even moved your trash can and cleaned your front yard, got rid of rodents/pests too.

Ah. So thats why your yard seemed so nice these days. Maybe he deserves a few head pats or two, his hair does look soft and tbh hes quite handsome :)

Maybe yall can become friends and he can scare away the poachers and emo teens littering around your property. Maybe you get to have a werewolf house husband that doubles as a soft blanket and guard dog :))

Ok I could not get this outta my head all morning...

Like it starts out soft and you're spending a lot of time together since you're doing work on the house and even just in his human form he's strong AF so he can easily help you out. He still goes to his hut at night when he's in wolf form bc he doesn't want to impose but you eventually let him live in the barn since you're not actually using it for farming.

Obviously, as a werewolf, he's gonna go into heat...

He kinda holes up in the barn which is weird bc he doesn't leave you alone usually. After a day or two you go check on him to bring him snacks or something and he doesn't answer for a while. You're really worried at this point so you're about to bust the door down when he opens it just a crack.

"Please, go away..." He growls.

"Why, what's up?" Your voice is laced with concern.

"It's... Nothing." He sounds gruff, exhausted. "It's fine."

"Then why haven't I seen you in a while?" You pout, unaware of the effect just your presence had on him.

"It's embarrassing." He growls again, though his eyes hungrily dance along your form.

"You can tell me, Dia." His heart raced as you spoke, all his energy funneled into self-restraint as your scent wafted into the barn.

He looked wild, unkempt. Not that he didn't always, it was just more than usual now. You couldn't quite place the look in his eyes, he'd never stared at you like this before.

"I'm..." He grumbled, hesitating before the words fell out of his mouth. "In heat." His face turned red and his gaze finally broke from you.

The look in his eyes was lust. He wanted to fuck you, that much was clear.

"... should only be a few more days." He mumbled, your silence echoing far louder than words.

He was about to close the door when he noticed resistance. Glancing up, he saw you in the threshold, your beautiful eyes on him.

"Can I help?" Your sweet voice called to him. He wanted to resist. He wanted you to remain pure, untarnished from this stupid curse that turned him into an animal so often.

Of course, things almost never worked out the way he wanted them to, and the animal in him had already tugged you into the barn without a thought. His lips crashed into you with a ravenous kiss, his strength holding you against him almost suffocatingly. You could already feel his throbbing length against your stomach.

He pulled away after a few moments. "You should go. Before I do something we'll both regret."

"I won't regret it." You stood your ground.

由底納利國家公園Denali出發，駛往阿拉斯加州最大城市安克拉治Anchorage的遊輪港口偉特爾Whittier，須搭乘駛向荒野Direct-to-Wilderness鐵路線，火車比較高也比較寬，車廂有黃藍色相間「阿拉斯加」的幾個大字，行駛在冰天雪地裡，很是拉風。乘坐起來還算舒適，車廂頂居然是透明的，對採光和視野大有幫助。

一路行車還算平穩，只是比起高鐵差得太遠，時代進步我們也被寵壞了。這條濱海鐵路一邊靠山大多是松杉綠林，除了平行的公路外沒有明顯的城鎮，樹林裡鳥類不少，靠海抓魚比較方便，其中金鷹是美國國鳥，特大、特美麗、特神勇。另一邊靠水就是「庫克海灣 Cook Inlet」，水面寬廣但水質混濁，與山泉注入的清流呈現出涇渭分明。

正奇怪若干小沙石灘上有不少衝浪少年流連，車上就有位女士大喊「高潮 High Tide」，原來她發現海灣口一道白練磅礴洶湧而至氣勢驚人，無奈車速略快，距離太遠無法仔細觀察，一算正好是陰曆八月十五中秋節月圓之時，杭州灣不也有「錢塘潮」嗎？北方的海水就是粗暴，據了解冬季大風暴的巨浪可達10呎，最高紀錄是40呎，難怪探險家庫克船長稱此地為「再回頭Turn Again Arm 」。

行車四小時的底站就在遊輪邊，甚是方便，大家魚貫上了船，找到房間安置後，就急往頂層自助餐廳，餵飽飢腸轆轆的五臟廟，船高17層，設定第9層樓是防疫區，五、六、七層中央是華麗的中堂大廳，頂層的陽台和游泳池都因天氣寒冷而無人問津，心想效法「鐵達尼號」電影船首熊抱張臂的情景，也因此無法達成。

接著幾天都是在峽谷裡看冰川，「呼巴Hubbard」冰川是道前菜，雪山不高，冰舌略短，融解較快，水面的浮冰特多，很是新奇。衣櫃大小的浮冰撞到船身，毫無動靜，可以推測要有大樓的規模，才能造成緊張。「冰川灣 Glacier Bay 」才是主菜，不由自主的爬上視野開闊主甲版的頂樓，只見「冰迷」們的長槍大砲加手機，「喀嚓」不停的攝取，貪婪的享受這大自然賞賜的美景，藍天白雲蒼蒼青山，皚皚白雪蒙蓋的山頭，延伸出的冰川如八爪章魚一般的流向山腳，堆積而成的冰川則呈淡藍色在水面形成斷崖，任由無情的海水侵蝕崩潰，化為浮冰流向大海。

船長很貼心的將船盡量駛近冰河，並在峽灣底部停滯，然後呈180度的回轉再轉回，確保船舷兩邊的遊客都能一觀全貌，所以說天氣再冷也能躲在屋內看冰山；由於水面沒路標，我推測的路線是由Gloomy Knob經 Queen Inlet 到Lamplugh Glacier和John Hopkins Glacier最後到峽底Margerie Glacier停滯後調回頭。說實話，這種服務沒話說，有夠讚！

期間有趣的是見到一塊巨大的浮冰上，盤據著一隻特大海豹，正在享受海中捕獲的食物，一會兒在周邊游獵累了的小海豹依序的爬上浮冰，轉眼就增加到十五、六隻，擁擠在一起。旁邊也有其他的冰塊，卻無人問津，真是有趣。水面除了浮冰外，也漂著一些木塊和黑色物質，數量之多令人疑慮，遠在水源之始居然就已如此不堪，到了下游進入大海，豈不是更為汙染？

遊船也會在途中選定幾個港口停泊，讓遊客上岸觀光，Sitka真的很小，但有一所雅致的東正教堂，想必是當年俄國移民時代所建，也有若干「因紐特 Inupiaq」原住民的獨木舟和圖騰，其色彩和質樸，會讓人對其傳統文化驚艷。Ketchikan也是小城，四艘遊船的長度就是市區中心的全部，本地觀光的活動很多，出海觀鯨、水上飛機俯覽冰原等，步行距離可到的Creek Street是條文創區，有不少原住民的藝術作品，一條小溪貫穿其中，看見不少三文魚逆水回巢，體力不濟者，就會淪為伺機而動的海豹美食。

「朱諾Juneau」是阿州的首府，城鎮規模較大，商業區也繁榮的多，碼頭邊有以該市命名的戰艦紀念碑，我們參加本地的景點遊，Mendenhall Gracier 是個不錯的選擇，來回車費加小費50元有找，車程約半小時，下車步行五分鐘即可到達觀景台，下有冰河的沖積砂洲。站在沙洲上遠眺冰河和一條白花花的冰河瀑布，匯合形成這條不算窄的小河。水面漂流許多浮冰，也許距離比較近，看起來每塊的個頭都還不小，地廣人稀風景絕佳，是個取景照相的好地方。身旁有幾個小朋友，撈起浮冰就往嘴裡放，急壞忙著拍照的家長。

繼續向小路深處前行，約需半小時的腳程，就可聽到金塊瀑布Nugget Falls的水聲，高度達377呎，水量很大，水型也美，處在巨型冰河旁毫不遜色，搶了不少鏡頭。再走幾步就是冰河本尊，感覺上高度並無高出瀑布有多少，但是承接了1500平方英畝冰原的水量就相當偉大。

全球暖化造成冰舌退縮約 250呎，可見我們站在的沙洲就是早年的冰河。上游是雪白色的，中游是淡藍色到了下游，就是藍色的冰河斷崖，一直發生因擠壓而碎裂的沉悶聲響，令人不安。

回程想到，一次偶然的機遇，讓我能與冰河零距離的接觸，內心的震撼很大，希望對大自然能做些什塺，下次再回來時，一切能更好。

National Bourbon Day

Nobody really needs a good excuse to enjoy the odd tipple, but National Bourbon Day gives anyone the perfect reason to dust off a bottle of this fine whiskey and have a glass or two!

Those who are less steeped in the culture of alcoholic beverages may not know the difference between bourbon and whiskey, which is certainly okay! This is the perfect day to learn. National Bourbon Day has been set aside as a day to learn about and appreciate this fine liquor which some people refer to as the “Spirit of America”.

It’s time to celebrate this American ‘Native Spirit’!

History of National Bourbon Day

Legend has it that the date on which National Bourbon Day is celebrated is the anniversary of the very first time this famous drink was distilled, way back in the late 1700s. It may only be a legend but, whatever the truth of this is, National Bourbon Day is surely a day worth celebrating.

Bourbon is a specific category of American whiskey, which is made from a mash that is primarily corn based–at least 51% must be corn in order for it to be classified as bourbon. Other grains in the mash typically include malted barley, rye or wheat.

The mash is then distilled, then aged for at least two years in barrels that are new charred oak barrels, in order to be “straight bourbon whiskey”. Many bourbons are aged longer than 2 years. In fact, one labelling rule states that any bourbon aged for less than 4 years must state as much on the label.

This is a very strong liquor. The corn mash to make the bourbon starts out at 80% alcohol and, through the aging process as well as filtering and bottling processes, the final product can be no less than 40% alcohol by volume.

Bourbon definitely originated in the US state of Kentucky, sometime in the 1700s, before it even had acquired its official name. The name seems to be a nod to the French Bourbon Dynasty, and possibly was in honor of Bourbon County, an area of Kentucky that was known for its corn growing.

While some people think that bourbon must be made in Kentucky (like cognac must be made in a certain region of France) that’s not actually true. It simply needs to be distilled and aged in the state in order to be given the special name, “Kentucky Bourbon”.

Even so, most of this drink is still made in Kentucky and folks from that area would claim that it’s definitely the place where the best bourbon comes from. Some Kentuckians even claim that the limestone in the springwater from the area offers this bourbon a flavor distinguished from the rest.

In 1964, the US Congress recognized bourbon as a “distinctive product of the United States”. In fact, many trade agreements require that, to be called bourbon, a whiskey must be made in the USA.

As bourbon whiskey began to grow in popularity, the tourism around this drink began to increase in Kentucky. At one point, to keep up with demand, some companies were planning to reduce the alcohol content of their products, but backlash from customers forced them to reverse their decision. Some companies have limited their supplies overseas to keep up with demands in the US. That means that Kentucky still probably is the best place to get bourbon!

While it is true that all bourbons are whiskey, not all whiskeys are bourbon. And National Bourbon Day is certainly the best day to find out more about this tasty beverage and enjoy a glass as well.

Try a Different Kind of Bourbon

Those who are new on the scene, welcome! It’s time to try bourbon of any variety. For those who are enthusiasts and aficionados, National Bourbon Day is the perfect time to try a new brand, flavor or vintage of this special whiskey.

Knob’s Creek. Whether choosing the 9-year, or the more sought-after 15-year, this brand is well known for its small batch varieties that everyone seems to love.

With at least 10 different distilleries in the area, Bardstown offers an eclectic array of bourbon options, including: Bardstown Bourbon Company, Maker’s Mark Distillery, Jim Beam American Stillhouse ahd Heaven Hill Distillery.

National Bourbon Day events typically last over two or three days, hosting tastings, demonstrations, and expert discussions. While in town, don’t forget to stop by the Oscar Getz Museum of Whisky History, which is a special place for bourbon enthusiasts.

Roanoke is a popular tourist destination, whether you're a culture vulture seeking out unique museums and attractions or an active vacationer seeking out outdoor adventures. 1. Mill Mountain Park & the Roanoke Star

Carvins Cove Natural Reserve, with more than 60 miles of trails surrounding an 800-acre reservoir, is known among locals as a haven for off-road mountain biking. The reserve, which is the second largest municipal park in the United States, spans nearly 13,000 acres, the majority of which is protected by the state of Virginia's largest conservation easement.

Trail maps are available for purchase, and bikers can get local advice on which trails are best suited for their experience level at Just The Right Gear, a cycling shop near the Bennett Springs parking lot (one of three reserve entrances — the others are Marina and Timber View). There are also rentals of high-end bikes and gear.

On the Easy Street, Kit & Kaboodle, The Skillet, and Enchanted Forest trails, beginners will find a gentler rise and more flats. On the most difficult trails, expect to gain up to 2,400 feet in elevation.

Smith Mountain Lake, one of Virginia's most popular — and the state's largest — has nearly 500 miles of shoreline, earning it the title of "Jewel of the Blue Ridge Mountains." Because state fisheries keep the lake well stocked, SML, as it's known by locals, has an especially impressive striped bass population. Anglers can book half- or full-day charters with a number of licenced guides who have plenty of experience traversing the 21,000-acre lake. They'll provide bait, equipment, and all of the necessary expertise to ensure that those fishing have a safe and enjoyable time on the water.

4. Roanoke Valley Greenways

A popular trail in and around Roanoke is right along the Roanoke River, where deer, herons, geese, and other wildlife can be seen even in the city. Visitors come from all 50 states to see Black Dog, which specialises in doors, windows, wrought iron, period lighting, garden statuary, and other specialty home components.

Head southeast on the Roanoke River Greenway towards Wasena Park after visiting Black Dog. At the Wasena Skate Park, kids can be seen hanging ten on their longboards. The park is always bustling with activity, and the locals' fancy footwork on their skateboards and blades is entertaining to watch.

On your way to the Tinker Creek Greenway, continue on the greenway and cross the Mill Mountain Greenway. Follow that road north for less than a mile and reward yourself with a picnic at Fallon Park's picnic area.

5. Taubman Museum of Art

The Taubman Museum of Art, one of the city's newest attractions (it opened in 2008), is a must-see for art lovers and casual culture consumers alike. The museum's permanent collection of 2,000 unique pieces is spread across 11 different galleries, including works by Thomas Cowperthwaite Eakins, Purvis Young, and John Cage, and is housed in a stunning modern design by renowned architect Randall Stout.

Visiting exhibits featuring work by some of America's best artists, including John James Audubon and Norman Rockwell, to name a few, are common. Photographic, folk art, and design-related exhibits are among the other highlights.

If you're travelling with children, look into children's programmes, such as hands-on workshops and interactive displays. On-site amenities include a café.

6. McAfee Knob

McAfee Knob is one of the most photographed places on the Appalachian Trail, thanks to its incredible vistas and spectacular rock overhang perch. The 3.5 miles of intermediate-to-difficult trails that lead up to the knob from the Virginia 311 parking lot are popular with hikers.

Climbers know it for the more than 70 gnarly sandstone and slick quartzite boulders that make for days of mini-summits. The majority of boulders are between 10 and 20 feet tall, with many crimps, jugs, pockets, and edges. Bring pads, lunch, and a buddy; it's never a good idea to go rock climbing alone, and McAfee is often deserted.

Another popular recreational area in Roanoke is the recently re-opened Explore Park, which is located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The park features 1,100 acres of breathtaking scenery, numerous walking and hiking trails, as well as thrilling ziplines and a treetop adventure course that is appropriate for families with younger children. It also has a visitor centre and a gift shop, as well as camping and rustic cabins.

7. Bottom Creek Gorge Preserve

Bottom Creek Gorge Preserve is a popular destination for birders, nature lovers, and photographers. Bottom Creek, located less than 20 miles south of Roanoke, is one of the most important headwaters for the Roanoke River, and it offers visitors several well-marked trails to enjoy the vast hardwood forest, unspoiled landscape, and Virginia's second highest waterfall.

For the best vantage point to photograph the 200-foot cascading waterfall, the second tallest in Virginia, photographers should take the Red Trail (the longest trail here, at five miles round-trip). Bring a long/telephoto lens because the overlook at the end of the trail offers a clear, open shot, but the falls are a long way away. A side path off the Yellow Trail leads to other viewpoints of the falls.

The historic City Market, also known as the Farmers' Market by locals, is open all year and offers boutique shopping, local produce, flowers, meat and cheese, local dining favourites, and some of Virginia's best people-watching. Pay close attention to the market's four mosaic tiled entrances, each of which contains over 2,000 pounds of porcelain tiles that reveal a little bit of the history of this storied public space.

Got To Be NC!

As you might know, I am a huge fan of parks. Some of my favorite public lands are the very ones in my home state of North Carolina. I have lived here my whole life and have been visiting these parks since I was a kid. Although I have not visited all of them, one day I know I will. So, enjoy this list (and review) of the beautiful parks of NC!

1. Carolina Beach

Fun Fact: Carolina Beach is one of the only places you can find the carnivorous Venus Flytrap and Pitcher Plant in the wild. This park is home to a subtropical wetland, which is the perfect ecosystem for these carnivorous plants. While you may be tempted to take one home with you, beware because the state of North Carolina made it a felony to poach Venus Flytraps in 2014. Also in the park is Sugarloaf Dune, which has been used as a navigational marker since 1633. In total, the park has 7 miles of trail, and is one I have visited many times during my stays in Wilmington.

This spire of rock is instantly recognizable to anyone within miles. Chimney Rock is 315 foot tall and overlooks Hickory Nut Gorge and Lake Lure. “Lake Lure?” you may ask, yes Lake Lure. The spot where they filmed the unforgettable lake scene in Dirty Dancing, as well as the scene of Baby dancing down the stairs. The town is also home to an annual Dirty Dancing festival, so you might want to plan your trip when Baby and Johnny are back in town. As well as Dirty Dancing, you may recognize this park from the climax scene in The Last of the Mohicans.

Home to the Civil War-Era bunkers and one of the best aquariums in North Carolina. Fort Fisher is a hidden gem in ENC. As a student at UNC at Wilmington, I know all to well about the beach. I know where to find a dirty beach, a crowded beach, and I certainly know how to find a good beach. Fort Fisher is just that. You can sit on the sand and watch the pelicans fly overhead and the cargo ships come into port without the worry of trash and dirty water. Because it is a state park/recreation area, it is kept very clean and has nicer facilities than public beaches in the area. It also has 4 wheel drive access to the beach. If you are visiting, don’t forget to stop by and see Luna, the albino alligator at the aquarium.

10. Fort Macon

Fort Macon! This place is probably one of the most interesting places in North Carolina. I recently wen there with my little brother to have a little day trip. The park itself is a beautiful ecosystem, as the Musgrove trees are my favorite. We stopped first at the beach was had clear water and a great view of the Cape Lookout lighthouse from the shore. Next we went to the actual fort which was the best part of the trip. Walking throughout the fort you see rich stone works and manicured lawns. I got some really cool Insta and VSCO photos here as well. Highly recommen!

One of the windiest spots in the entire state. Grandfather Mountain is home to the famous mile-high swinging bridge. Walking across the bridge is both exhilarating and terrifying. As requested by the staff, hold on to your belongings, and even small children, to keep them form blowing into the valley below. It is also home to an amazing zoo that houses black bears and mountain lions.

14. Hammocks Beach

Hammocks Beach State Park is a park I visit quite often as it is only about 30 minutes from where I live. I have visited both the mainland site, which has an amazing visitors center and serene wooded trails, and the Bear Island site. Bear Island is a 3-mile long barrier island that is home to nesting sea turtles and clean beaches. A ferry, kayak, or personal boat can take you over to the island to enjoy the water!

My favorite! Jockey’s Ridge is located in Nags Head, North Carolina, right next to Kitty Hawk, the site of the first human flight. Jockey’s Ridge is the tallest active sand dune on the Atlantic Coast. Hiking through this park feels like you are in Star Wars! Some of my favorite activities to do are sandboarding down the giant dunes and paragliding. Jockey’s Ridge to me is the most fun and the most beautiful of all the parks I have visited.

18. Jones Lake

One of the two lakes formed by the geological phenomenon called Carolina Bays. This phenom creates lakes of varying pH levels, resulting in different coloration of the water. Jones Lake is colored a bright red color. This lake has great swimming and fishing. Beware alligators though!

19. Jordan Lake

Jordan Lake is like other lakes in my state, but the one things that makes it interesting: the Bald Eagle. Jordan Lake is the summertime home of this rare species. It is fascinating to watch this birds fly and hunt for prey. You can enjoy swimming and hiking, as there is 15 miles of trails throughout the park.

20. Kerr Lake

Another amazing park in the beautiful state of NC! Just like Jorden Lake, it is also home to a bald eagle. We have camped on the shore a few times and I love waking up early to watch the sun rise over the lake. We take our boat and pull our tubes. Another great thing this park has is rolling, smooth roads. Take your longboard and carve down these streets. There is also a really nice marina down the road who has killer ice cream.

Just like Jones and Carolina Beach, these park is home to some cool species. The American alligator and the Venus Flytrap are easy to find in this swampy park. While the slews and backcountry of this park are full of blood-sucking mosquitos and alligators, the lake front dock is an amazing spot to swim. The pH level of this lake makes it perfectly clear. Not only is it clear, but it also is only about 4 feet deep which makes it perfect for younger or inexperienced swimmers to have fun without all the worry. I personally like driving around and seeing all the beautiful lakes houses after taking a swim, but there is also a really nice restaurant on the lake front that I’ve heard has amazing burgers.

Lumber River is the only black water river in North Carolina, and is also a National Wild and Scenic River. This park ahs great kayaking, but beware alligators.

29. Mount Jefferson

It is our family tradition to go every Thanksgiving to get our Christmas tree from the mountains. So, last year we decided to go to West Jefferson and we visited Mount Jefferson State Park. It was approximately 17 degrees and there was ice everywhere, but we hiked to the top and enjoyed the view of the valley below. One of the coolest things about Mt. Jefferson is the Luther Rock. This rock juts from the side of the mountain and allows you to walk out on it and take in the beautiful scenery.

30. Mount Mitchell

Mount Mitchell is the tallest mountain east of the Mississippi River. The observation area at the top allows for you to see as far as 85 miles on a clear day. Just make sure as you head up, you layer up because it can drop temperature very quickly.

Oh Raven Rock! We took this trip after a long day at the ball field on my mom’s 40th birthday. Needless to say we were tired, but we still decided to tackle the 4.2 mile hike to the Raven Falls. We were expecting a waterfall, but instead we got rapids. We did however cool off in the river before taking our long hike back. Despite this, the actual Raven Rock was beautiful and the park is still on of my favorites.

36. Singletary Lake

The best thing about this lake is how secluded it is. It is tucked away behind a tree line and barely visible from the road. The only people that frequent this are its junior campers. You can enjoy a peaceful evening fishing on its 500 foot peer and if you’re feeling lucky test your swimming skills with the alligators.

I just recently took my second trip to this park and it is still as beautiful as the first time. There are over 35 miles of hiking in this park so it is very unlikely you will see it all. While I do love hiking, I enjoy just driving through the park as well. The stone bridge over Sycamore Creek is one of my favorite spots as it has rolling fields of grass that you can lie down in and have a picnic if you please.

This was it. This was my big day- my first day of my brand new internship at Scratch Publishing. This was the beginning of the rest of my professional career.

And I was running late.

As the saying goes, that morning, everything that could go wrong, did. I set my alarm two hours earlier than I needed to be up, but somehow I slept through it. When I finally did get up, nothing in my closet seemed quite ‘business casual’ enough, despite the fact that I had laid out several options the night before. I had left my house fifteen minutes earlier than needed, but of course there was an accident, backing up traffic.

It was 9:03 AM, and my stomach was tumbling with nerves, because even besides being late on your first day of work, I just wasn’t the kind of girl who was late-- ever. Standing at the front door of the office (which was really just a tiny, rundown shotgun house in the questionable part of Willow Creek), I took a deep breath and held it as I turned the knob.

I expected to find my new boss, Zach Walsh, standing in the entrance with his arms folded tightly around his chest, a stern look on his stoic face, and a letter crinkled in his angry fist, which would read ‘Penelope Fitzgerald: complete and utter failure’.

Instead, I was greeted with a dark, Zach-less room. Flipping on the light switch, I called out, “Hello? Is anyone here?”

Just the silence replied. The door to his office, where I had interviewed, was open, and the room just as deserted. I breathed a sigh of relief; I had been spared. Zach would never have to know I was late on my first day.

Help | Part 9

Summary: They have rescued you, its going to be hard. Two years of pain of being under hydra did a toll on you. (Y/N) has to decide what she has to do next.

Pairing: Dad!Tony x Stark!Reader (by this point you should know the relationships)

Warnings: Crying? PTSD Symptoms? Maybe? I say bad words.

A/N: This one is almost 3.3k guys. Its the last chapter in the series, thank you to everyone who read it. I had a fun time writing it. Please let me know what you all thought! I may write one shots with this as the backstory too as kinda a continuation.

You slowly start to open your eyes; the light starts to peak through the crack between your eye lids. Still in a daze, you can feel your entire body aching. You decide to rest longer, not moving so no one can know you are awake. You are confused, you are more comfortable than normal and it’s brighter than usual. Suddenly, you remember what happened. You jerk awake, sitting up in a panic. Trying to wrap your heads around the memories of the events that happened, not being able to remember how it ended. You look around, your breathing is heavy, heart is pounding. You recognize this place, this isn’t the room that Hydra kept you in. No, this is your bedroom.

You try to calm your breathing, calm down, you are home, Hydra isn’t controlling you. You are safe. Even though you are safe at home, you can’t seem to feel relieved. You are still nervous, scared, you feel guilty for everything. You fought your friends, you hurt them, you got kidnaped, you made them all worry about you. Your stomach starts doing flips, it’s a waiting game, knowing someone will walk in at any moment. F.R.I.D.A.Y probably alerted them when you woke up. Sooner or later you are going to have to face them all again. It sucks, even though you weren’t in control of your actions, you had no say in the matter, the memories of everything are still there. You are forced to remember everything you have done to them.

After sitting in silence for a few minutes, worrying about when someone will walk in and trying to get your thoughts together, there is a quiet knock at the door. Your heart stops. You start preparing yourself for who will be walking in. In your heart, you know exactly who it is, everything in you knows your dad is about to walk in, the real question is if someone will be with him. The door knob starts to turn, the door slowly creeks open. Once there is enough room a head pops in, it is your dad.

Instantly, his eyes light up at the sight of you. He walks in keeping his composure, he is calm and gentle. Making sure not to startle you and make sure you are comfortable. However, you look like a deer in headlights, not really knowing what to do. “Hey kiddo” His voice is soft and gentle and she shuts the door behind him, “Everything is okay, don’t worry. You are okay now.”

You remain silent, bringing your knees up to your chest and wrapping your arms around your legs. Your dad walks over, he sits at the end of your bed. Making sure to keep his distance until he can see your reaction, make sure the transition is smooth for you. He turns to you, you can see the worry in his eyes, looking at you as if you are broken. Noticing the way he looks, it makes you feel bad. Thinking of what he must have gone through, he doesn’t deserve this. You remember the look on his face when you were fighting them, remembering how he never gave up, how hard he fought to get you back. The guilt starts to overwhelm you, staying strong you hold it inside so he doesn’t see your breakdown.

“Can I get you anything?” Your dad breaks the silence in the room, you shake your head, looking down at the blanket to avoid eye contact, “Do you want to talk at all? It can help you?”

You stay quiet, focusing on the pattern of the blanket. “Or I can give you some more time, I can come back later.” His tone has gotten sadder, you can tell he isn’t trying to push you, just trying to help. He presses his fists down onto the bed to help him stand up.

Before he can start walking you speak up, “Is everyone okay?” it came out as a whisper. You look at him from the corner of your eye, not turning to look at him. You can see a sigh of relief from him.

“Everyone is fine (Y/N), don’t worry.” He comes back and kneels on the floor next to you, “Everyone is just so happy to have you back home safe.”

Looking over to him for the first time, your heart shatters. You can see the worry you caused in his face, not only his expression but the lines on his face, the bags under his eyes. It looks like he hasn’t slept in months. When you make eye contact he gives you a soft comforting smile. Letting you know that it’s okay. “I, I didn’t mean…” All of a sudden tears burst out, pouring out. You can’t hold it in anymore, “I’m sorry.” You manage to mumble out between sobs. You bury your face in the blanket covering your knees.

The feeling of a hand on your back causes you to jump, instantly the hand returns to your father’s side. He is devastated that he scared you like that, he didn’t mean to. Instantly you feel bad about it, you weren’t expecting it and it caught you off guard. Maybe you are more damaged than even you thought.

“Sweetie..” He sounds heartbroken trying to find the words to say to you, “There is nothing to feel sorry about, this… this is not your fault.” You can tell by his voice that he is crying as well.

It takes every ounce of courage you have to look over at him, his eyes red and puffy are focused on you. You force yourself to try and smile for him. “Listen (Y/N),” His voice cracks, “We know it will be hard for you, we know it will probably take some time. We are all here for you, and we won’t give up on you. Now, there is a group of people waiting outside this door who love and care about you. They are waiting for me to walk out and tell them how you are doing, I’m not going to lie to them. They want to help you, they are willing to do anything they can for you. I just want you to know that you are not alone in this.”

You know exactly who he is talking about when he says it. Instantly you picture the group standing out in the hallway, knowing that they do still care about you, the fact that they aren’t mad at you helps you feel better. It helps, but it doesn’t take the pain and memories away. Your sobs have settled to a silent cry.

Taking a deep breath, you make the decision to lean over and wrap your arms around your dad. You don’t realize how much you needed a hug until you got one. He wraps his arms around you, making you feel safe, like everything will really be okay. It helps calm you down. Resting your head on his shoulder you start to feel relaxed. “Everything will be okay, I promise.” He whispers to you.

Pulling away, you sit on the edge of your bed, wiping away the tears on your face. Your dad gets up to sit on the bed next to you. You manage to smile at him, trying to lift up the mood in the room, to show that you aren’t as broken as he may thing. Yes, you have some issues but they don’t need to walk on broken glass around you. That’s all he needed, just to know that you have hope as well.

“You know, I think you really hurt caps feelings,” Your eyes widen, looking your dad in the eyes, you feel your stomach drop in fear of hurting him, “Yeah, it has to be pretty embarrassing for him to get his ass kicked by an 18-year-old.” He lets out a little laugh, you lightly smack his arm in anger.

“I thought I really hurt him or something!” You say with slight annoyance, but you can’t hold back a laugh. Thinking that you little (Y/N) Stark beat up Captain America, and the rest of the Avengers actually.

“So heres the thing,” He switches from joking around back to serious, “A doctor is going to be in in a bit to make sure you are okay medically. Now, I know you will need someone to talk to as well, a professional.” He pauses, “Its your decision but if you would want Sam is willing to help with that as well, its your choice if you want to talk with him as well. However, I want you to talk with Barnes, Steve’s friend, he went through the same stuff you did. He wants to help you and I think you should take it.”

“I thought you hated Barnes?” You ask in confusion.

“I did, but he is willing to help you. Anyone who is willing to help you is okay with me.” Suddenly a look of joy is expressed on his face, “Also, I had FRIDAY search the internet for the best emotional support dogs available. Once you give me the okay you are going to meet all of them to pick your favorite.”

He looks so happy telling you about the dogs, knowing how much you love dogs. “Are you serious?” The idea of getting one gets you a little excited, “Anyone I want?”

He laughs, “Of course, only the best for my baby.” There is a knock at the door, “Oh, that must be the doctor. Before I let them in do you need anything? Want me to get anything for you? What can I get you to eat? I know you must be hungry, anything you want. You can eat alone, just us, or with everyone?”

The burst of questions gets you off guard. You realize that you are still in your Hydra clothes, this makes your skin crawl. “Can I please have some new clothes? Are my sweatpants and hoodies in the same place?” Looking around you notice that your room is exactly the way you left it. Its a bit cleaner but everything is still in the same place.

“Of course, if you want I can go wash them first,” He stands and walks towards the closet to get you a hoodie, taking it out he smells it, “It has that closet smell, I’m going to wash it first.”

“Thanks.” You can’t help but feel bad making him do so much for you, “Is it okay if I shower after the doctor leaves? and I really want a cheeseburger. A good cheese burger sounds really good right now.”

Your dad lets out a scuff, “Of course you do.” He smiles as he shakes his head. “What?” Confused, not knowing what he is talking about.

“Remember when I was taken hostage?” you nod, “That’s the first thing I asked for when I got back. I’ll make sure you have a good one though, not fast food shit.”

He goes to walk out, “wait,” You quietly call out before he opens the door, “Make sure you make enough for everyone.” You say looking up at him. You don’t know why you said it, its not like you are in the mood for a big ‘family’ meal. The idea of getting back to normal as fast as you can sounds nice to you though, and you do really want to see everyone. You miss them, and you do love having them around. They always cheer you up and bring out the best in you. Plus, you know they are all really hoping to be included.

Opening the door, you can’t hear much, he makes sure not to open it all the way so everyone can easily look in. However, you can hear, “Tony, this is Doctor Reid” It was Pepper. Hearing her voice struck you hard, it makes you smile. Remembering the last time you saw her, how she wanted to officially adopt you, how the two of you were over joyed when you accidentally called her “mom”.

Before thinking you call out to her, “Pepper?” It was shy, not too loud but just loud enough to catch her attention. You stare at the slight opening from the door, heart pounding wondering if she even heard you. Nervous, but a little excited to see her, you need her right now.

The door starts to open, you stare to see who it is. You instantly light up seeing Pepper walk in the room. Not much a surprise that she is crying. Her hands over her mouth and nose and tears roll down her face in happiness in seeing you. Seeing her cry made you start again, you stand up to walk towards her. “Oh (Y/N),” She pulls you into a tight hug. Which hurt you but you didn’t mind. “You have no idea how happy and relieved we are to have you back home. I’m so glad you are safe.”

The doctor walks in, Pepper pulls away. She gives you a smile as she walks out of the room. You sit on the bed as the doctor examines you, he doesn’t stay long. Just checks your injuries to make sure nothing is to severe or infected and nothing is broken. The only thing bothering you really is your muscles, they are just sore and everything nothing you haven’t felt before.

Your shower helped you feel renewed. Now you are in freshly cleaned clothes, you feel clean, your hair is brushed and you feel refreshed. You are alone in your room, everyone is getting ready for dinner in the kitchen and common area. Sitting on the edge of your bed you just think. Your thoughts wander. What now? What happens next? How much did you miss? Can you be normal again? You have new powers, what can you do with them?

About 10 minutes pass when F.R.I.D.A.Y comes over the speakers in your room, scaring the shit out of you, “Ms. Stark, dinner is ready whenever you are”. That makes you realize that you have to get used to having that around again. Taking deep breaths, you stay calm as you stand to make your way to dinner. You still haven’t seen any of them since you beat the shit out of them. You don’t know if you should be embarrassed, happy, sorry or scared when you walk in. Your nerves are driving you insane.

Walking down the hallway your stomach is in knots and palms are sweaty. You walk slowly, trying to calm down before you walk in. Then you find yourself at the end of the hallway, just out of sight from everyone. Taking one final deep breath you walk in. You quietly enter the room, obviously nervous and shy.

Everyone turns to you instantly. Instantly they all seem happy to see you. You are blown away seeing them all. Steve, Nat, Sam, Wanda, Bruce, Thor, Peter, Rhodey, Bucky, and even Clint are here. Looking around, seeing everyone’s faces, you can feel the love in the room. It helps settle your nerves, making you forget why you were so nervous about seeing them.

No one says anything, you just stand there for a moment. “Lady Stark!” Thor’s voice booms throughout the room in excitement as he walks towards you. He rests his hand on your shoulder, making sure that he was careful with you. “It is great to see you again, I have missed you.” It’s been so long since you have seen Thor, longer than anyone else. Without realizing what you were doing you go to hug him. Thor’s hugs have always been the best, and you really needed one.

“Where have you been?” You ask, looking up at him. Before he can answer Bruce catches your attention, “And where have you been?” You had a hint of anger in your tone, thinking about how both of them just disappeared without saying anything, with no contact all those years ago.

Bruce is taken back in surprise of your tone, “Oh, well you see (Y/N)...” He is trying to figure out how to explain, “It’s a long story, we can discuss this later.” He was rubbing the back of his neck looking away. Obviously, he doesn’t want to talk about it.

One by one everyone starts walking up to you so they can hug you. You manage to make fun of Steve a bit for kicking his ass. His defense was he didn’t want to hurt you but no one was buying it. Peter walks over to you, you are instantly struck with guilt. Looking at him you notice that he has a nasty black eye. “I did that, didn’t I?” You say shyly.

Peter nods his head, “Yeah but it’s not the first time a super soldier gave me a black eye.” He looks over to Steve he tries to look away pretending not to notice.

“I’m sorry.” You apologize. You were calm with Peter, just like everyone else. Your feeling from before all this happened seem to have faded. There are more important things to worry about, you were just happy to have him as a friend. Having a boyfriend, a date to the dance or worrying about a crush wasn’t that important anymore. Eventually it will be but there are more important things to think about. Maybe once everything calms down you can see if that spark is still between the two of you. “What was your excuse to May for this one?” You ask jokingly to lighten up the mood in the room.

“Oh, um yeah. I just told her the truth. I was trying to save you and you got really strong and punched me in the face.” He shrugs as if it’s no big deal. You however are in shock.

“You told May the truth?!” You blurt out, “Did she not question why you were with the Avengers? Fighting?!

Peter laughs, “Yeah um she knows I’m Spiderman now.”

Your eyes widen, “How did she find out?” You ask with concern.

“Yeah, well after the whole homecoming incident and Mr. Stark gave me back my suit. I wasn’t paying attention and she walked by as I was taking my mask off.” He was so calm with the story like it didn’t faze him at all.

“What homecoming incident? Why did he take you suit?” You are now getting irritated needing to ask so many questions to get the full story. Everyone else thought it was funny though.

“Well you see.. my homecoming date’s dad was a bad guy selling dangerous weapons so I had to fight him, a building fell on me, and I saved the day and happy’s job.”

“A building what?!” You yell in shock. He brushes it off like it was nothing, you are obviously confused and very concerned. You look around to see everyone else’s faces, none of them look even remotely concerned.

“So, Lil’ Stark,” Sam gets your attention, “Now you need a cool superhero name.” He smiles as everyone starts thinking of a cool name. You walk over and sit at the table with everyone, dinner is already on the table.

Everyone sits and eats, during the entire meal everyone is shouting out cool names for you. You had always wanted to be one of them, and now you can. That’s when you know what you are meant to do, this happened for a reason. You are meant for something special. This isn’t the end of your story, it’s the first page.
