(Free) Brazilian Portuguese Beginner Resource Masterlist
I've seen a lot of posts for European Portuguese, but none for Brazilian, so here we are! All resources are available for free (or at least have free trials.)
The items highlighted in yellow are what I, personally, use and recommend.
The items with asterisks are closer to intermediate level.
I will continue to update with new resources as I discover them. If you have any suggestions, comment or reblog!

Idk why and idk if I’m the only one but I love using streams in languages I don’t know/dont know much as background or just to watch and pick up little bits it’s so fun!!! It’s literally so fun to watch like cellbit or roier or etoiles and still be able to laugh at their streams if I can understand very little things
It makes me very happy either way, idk if I’m the only one who does it I love it smm

Was drawing something for my Fanfic, had to stop halfway to do my duolingo, and ended up merging the two. Enjoy I guess?
Look their super toxic but they both knowingly consent to that toxicity so . . . Is it still toxic then?

I made some months ago a post called songs in French you should listen to. Inspired by this, I made the following list of songs in Portuguese you should listen to.
Note: Portuguese is my native language, but since I’m from Brazil I don’t know many artists from other lusophone countries.
A tentação do Fracasso - Atalhos
Me Deixa Legal - Malglore
Aquela Força - Maglore
Sorte Ainda - Terno Rei
Cinza - O Teatro Mágico
Sulamericano - Baiana System
Miçanga - Baiana System
Danse Macabre- Scalene
vulto - Scalene
impulso- Scalene
Razões e Emoções - NX Zero (this one reminds me my childhood)
Delírio - Roberta Sá
Vou Deixar - Skank
Sutilmente - Skank
Ska - Os Paralamas do Sucesso
Meu Erro - Os Paralamas do Sucesso
Óculos - Os Paralamas do Sucesso
Vento Ventania - Biquíni Cavadão
All songs from “Engenheiros do Hawaii”
Some songs are old school haha but I really love them.

How to learn European Portuguese?
I got a wonderful job at a little family-run sewing store in my neighbourhood! The family that runs it and a large proportion of our customers are from Portugal, so I'm having fun learning a bit of Portuguese. I wanted to do Duolingo, but it seems that Duolingo teaches Brazilian Portuguese, which is pronounced differently enough to be extremely confusing to me.
Can anyone recommend a good website for learning European Portuguese?
Thank you!

Langblr Reactivation Challenge - Week 1, Day 3
Hello everyone! It's that time again! This is my third day of the Langblr Reactivation Challenge!
Today's prompt is: Create a list or a Mindmap of vocabulary topics. Start with a broad topic and narrow down to more specific topics. An example could be bedroom - furniture - closet - clothes or travelling - languages - study words - school supplies. Keep a hold of this because you'll use it later to create vocab to study. Some broad topics to start with: house, school, work, travelling, friends and family, nature, city. Feel free to use these or think of your own. Share your mindmap so others can get some ideas if they need it.
This is my attempt at making a nice Mindmap for the general concept of "time". I still want to add a lot more in terms of the verb tense side of the chart, but it is getting later and later and I am going to need to sleep soon, so this is where it will have to be left off for now! I started with the central concept of "seasons", but realized that I could expand even further outwards from there to include more very key things that I need to work on for all of my current languages I'm studying!
Also, just as a little helpful tip for making one of these, this was my first time trying to make something like this and I struggled at first to find out an accessible and intuitive way to make one. I found the Microsoft Whiteboard to be really easy to use for this! You can just use the shapes that come built in and color code them really easily <3.

I’m at this training with a girl who grew up in Brazil. And I’ve wanted to learn Brazilian Portuguese but I have trouble retaining languages. So all I’ve known is a couple basic words or ones I’ve heard in songs a lot. So we were talking and she mentioned home and I was like “oh yeah, bom dia.” And she got really excited and asked if I spoke any Portuguese and I said that I’ve been trying to learn but had trouble. So I told her the bit that I knew and she taught me a bit. And we made the goal that by the end of this month of training that I would be able to speak with her at least basic conversations in Portuguese. So I’m excited and hoping that actually happens. (She also complimented my pronunciation)

Will definitely ask for you help once I get into the more advanced things! :)
Can I ask how you’re learning Portuguese? (like what study methods, resources you’re using and etc, just curious because really enjoy seeing how people do it)
I'm just getting started, but right now I watch YouTube videos for beginners, learn most common words, watch what cartoons I can find in European Portuguese dub(don't really understand anything but separate words yet), the Foreign Portuguese Comics YouTube channel is a great help. I need to find more places where I can watch things. And the other day I was listening to Portuguese radio on background, I need to do more of that. I also need to find more Portuguese music that I like and read the song lyrics and translations
My goal right now is to start understanding the language when reading/listening and get a better grasp on spelling/pronunciation. A couple different sources recommended to start with pronunciation. That's kind of hard without a person who can tell me what I do wrong, especially with the vowels After that I'll add learning basic phrases/sentences and maybe start on basic grammar. I will have to decipher how to use neopronouns as well. I wish there was a video on them to help with phonetics, but I couldn't find it, at least not in English
Overall my learning method is mostly input and very chill and low pressure, since it's all I have the energy for. But for the past few days I've been consistently doing something to learn, so I think it'll work out for me in the end!

Thursday, Portuguese, 23/02/23
(As promised doing two in one day, I'm just giving this one yesterday's date 😁)
And, is 'e'
The cat, is 'O gato'
The key, is 'A chave'
It is a, is 'É um(a)'
It is a ball, is 'É uma bola'
He has water, is 'Ele tem agua'
She has the key, is 'Ela tem a chave'
I am a man, is 'Eu sou um homem'
I am a girl, is 'Eu sou uma menina'
She is a woman, is 'Ela é uma mulher'
Plenty new vocab learned today! Again, slowly starting to understand grammar rules and masc/fem vocabulary. I'm sure with time I will understand a lot better, though I realise I might need to up this one to two lessons a week rather than one
