Saw these T-shirts on my dash and I knew right away who to draw. I'm just thinking about how Reigen had so much positive influence on the many the espers in this show waaah
[ID: A sketch of Reigen and Mob standing next to each other, wearing white T-shirts with inscriptions that read "I'm the dog they put with cheetahs to keep them from going crazy in captivity" for Reigen and "I'm the cheetah that is threatening to go crazy" for Mob. Reigen is standing proudly and smiling, pointing at himself with his thumb, the other hand resting on Mob's shoulder. Mob is looking down at his shirt with a straight face, arms hanging loosely at his sides. End ID]

[ID: a six image comic of an anthropomorphic bird.
1: “F💡CUS [plaintext: focus, but the o is a lightbulb]
By: Burd
TWITTER.COM/ANGRYLITTLEBURD
ANGRYLITTLEBURD.TUMBLR.COM
2: Imagine a lightbulb over your head. When you are mentally stimulated that bulb lights up. This lets you focus on whatever activity you're engrossed with. [a fox has a lightbulb over their head, which turns on and sheds light on the book they’re reading.]
My problem is, I don't have just one lightbulb. So even if one lightbulb is lit up, I have other lightbulbs that are not. This makes it hard to focus on the task put before me. It creates this feeling of being under stimulated. [the bird has four dim lightbulbs above their head, and then one lightbulb is lit, barely shedding light on the piece of paper they’re staring at. They mutter “Come on. Just focus already.”
3: When under stimulated, even things I actively enjoy I find too difficult to focus on. Often I need multiple sources of stimulation just to focus on one task. [They have one lightbulb lit and are reading a book. “Come on, you've read this page five times now.” Then they are happily reading with headphones on and blowing bubblegum.]
This is where I run into my other problem with focus. Too many sources of stimulation but not enough lightbulbs end up blinding me. When it feels like everything is vying for my attention it quickly causes over stimulation. [They frantically look every direction as they are bombarded with notification pop ups and someone off screen yelling “hey!”]
4: The hardest part of all of this? I don't know how many lightbulbs I have at any given moment. I never really know until I start adding or removing sources of stimulation. [The bird has three dark lightbulbs over their head, then gloomily holds them in their arms, where there are now six dim bulbs.]
This makes committing to plans a very daunting task at times. [The fox is saying to the bird: “movie reel icon? Video game controller icon? Clock icon?” The bird is holding three bulbs in one hand while anxiously giving a thumbs up. They’re thinking “I hope I'll be able to pay attention that long.”]
5: At the same time, its also why its so easy to hyper fixate on things. When you find something that lights up all your lightbulbs you give it all your time and attention. [Bird is watching a Godzilla movie with fox, and all three of their lightbulbs are turned on. They now have two lightbulbs, both of them lit, as they talk to fox about the movie, then make fanart, and play with Godzilla toys in their Godzilla-themed room.]
6: But when the number of lightbulbs you have changes without warning, you end up dropping hobbies out of nowhere. They still light up the same number of lightbulbs they always have. It's not that you are no longer interested in these things, but your number of lightbulbs changed so you can't focus on them like you used too. [sic]”
[Bird is toying with the figurine, but only two of their three lightbulbs are lit up. The toy tips over as Bird gloomily holds their extra unlit bulb. They leave it next to the dinosaur toy. The signature reads “Burd”]

seen and not heard
{ One-Shot for head, heart, hand. }
Summary: You are the weirdest person at this fancy event Felix's parents dragged him along to, and the only person his age apart from his sister. Turns out you're intriguing enough that he doesn't protest when his parents suggest you join them for a Summer at Saltburn.
Need to Know: They/Them. Explicitly NB Reader. I know the reader comes out as NB and changes their name to Y/N in high school in the main fic but suspend your disbelief.
A/N: 2211 words. FLASHBACK!! anon asked for a flashback to a core memory for young felix & reader, so here is their first meeting that ends with a core memory for felix. i love them both, id like to write more of them being young together in future. (also i was a little drunk while writing this, please forgive me xx)

----
Summer slips by from one sticky-hot moment to the next at the Saltburn estate. Felix still isn't quite sure what to make of you, even as he'd so callously agreed to have you in his home after meeting you at one of his parents' various functions. It had been one of the rare ones he'd been invited to attend, alongside Venetia, tasked with being on his best behaviour.
The hosts were friends with his parents - they always were - and he'd found himself on a boat. Early in the afternoon he'd found himself aware of your gaze on him and his sister, the two of them pinching canapes from passing waiters. Venetia had been trying to put as many as she could into her mother's purse without Elspeth noticing, but all Felix could do was eat them as quickly as he could, bored out of his mind from smiling as his parents showed him off.
Our beautiful boy, Felix, they'd said when people politely asked who he was, and our daughter Venetia is around here somewhere.
No-one came near you, by the railing, people watching and occasionally being brough a glass of orange juice in a fancy cup by various members of staff who would give you pitying looks. There weren't many others around his age; he wasn't even sure why he and Venetia were there at all. Eventually, however, he managed to slip away from his mother.
"How boring, right?" He'd laughed softly, but you'd shrunken back, glancing around, as if unsure whether you were even allowed to respond.
"It's for a good cause, isn't it?" It sounds rehearsed. You look more uncomfortable.
"I guess, I don't know," he shrugged, "why are you here? Your parents bring you along?" You're still avoid his eye contact, looking around at the other guests. You shrug kind of helplessly, before finally looking at him.
"You're Elspeth and Sir James' son; I heard them talking about you," then, as quickly as you'd turned to him, you look away, "I don't know if I'm allowed to talk to you."
"Why can't you talk to me?" He's growing more intrigued by the minute, watching you closely, which only seems to agitate you further. A slow smile spreads across his lips, "who are you?"
You shrug.
"That's not an answer," Felix relaxes further into the conversation now, leaning against the railing of the boat, looking over his shoulder at the waves breaking as it moved through the water in the sunset.
"I'm not anyone really, I'm just here," you try to smile, but it's awkward, it's like you don't quite know how. It's not upset or unhappy, it's just the truth you know it seems. Then, after a moment, your attention seems drawn back to the others. He follows your gaze, and sees his parents speaking to the people who'd been pointed out as the hosts at the start of the party. Something in their gaze is intense, but not unkind. His parents smile at him, and he watches the hosts manage a faint, awkward smile at the pair of your by the edge of the boat. They nod.
Beside him, he actually hears you let out a shaky breath.
"You're Felix Catton," you say so very softly, even though he'd never properly introduced himself, "your sister is Venetia and she's been in the kitchens for the past fifteen minutes; not sure how that's going to work out for her." He turns to you very sharply, sees the way you're watching him with a nervous energy, "I'm Y/N."
You're being very weird.
"I know everyone here. Sorry," you admit finally.
"I don't have to know everyone here," Felix frowns; he should probably leave, be too weirded-out to stick around, but something about you intrigues him beyond what he can say. You shrug, but it's easier this time, as is the half smile you give him.
"You're not me."
A strange creature. A marvel. He spent the next hour pointing out patrons while you rattled off not only their name, but any gossip you somehow knew about them, much to Felix's delight. Sometimes he'd catch you watching him, watching the way he'd smile and laugh at the strange details you'd manage to recall that would make you laugh, and he saw a fondness in your eyes that frightened him with how much he appreciated it.
The two of you spend the better part of the night together, which would be strange if he didn't catch his parents watching approvingly every so often. Venetia had been brought out of the kitchen by a waiter and was kept on a metaphorical tight leash by his parents, so they seemed glad he was just keeping out of trouble.
"How would you feel about Y/N spending some time with us over the Summer?" His mother had brought him the idea at the end of the night in the coach ride back to Saltburn. Venetia is asleep in her lap, curled up awkwardly, while his father sat up front with the driver.
So that's how you ended up at Saltburn that Summer.
You showed up, still a strange creature, still a marvel. You knew all the scripts, never slipping up even as Duncan loomed over you. Please and thank you and dressing up for dinner without having to be asked. Venetia giggled and called you a robot and an alien and Farleigh spent the first few days mocking how formal you were at every given interaction. Always asking, always delicate, always seeking permission.
But Felix sees through the nerves. Or, at least he hopes he does.
"I'm desperate for some ice cream," there's a good chance you're asleep, but he tries his luck, whispering through the shut door on the other side of your shared bathroom.
"Uh..." he hears from the other side.
"Do you want some?" It's late enough that everyone else is asleep, but he's rather desperate to see the side of you that had come out by the end of the event he'd met you at. Of course you're nervous when you open the door, but he smiles, and you smile back, sleepy but more genuine than it had been since you'd arrived.
"Are we allowed?"
"Probably not, but it's my house so who cares," and he grabs your hand and pulls you to the kitchen. Something about the way you laugh despite yourself hits him square in the chest.
In the day time, Elspeth gives you both concerned looks and asks if you slept alright. Every time you make a point of straightening your posture and giving her a bright smile and assuring her you're fine. Felix will yawn and give a thumbs up. The change you show in the day is gradual, it almost takes all Summer.
You learn to play with Farleigh and Venetia and Felix without seeming like a robot; you learn their rules and games and jokes. You watch until you can respond in the way they all want to hear, while still being perfect under the watchful eyes of Sir James and Elspeth. Everyone loves the way you shape yourself to fit into their world.
At night, however, you come alive with Felix.
Of course he already knows Saltburn like the back of his hand, but he's surprised by how quickly you learn to move silently, following his footsteps and stifling your giggling. There's something about him that makes you chatter honestly, rather than trying to say exactly what you think he might want to hear.
"Sorry, sorry," you apologise, the two of you having been cackling at an inappropriate joke Felix had been recounting. The two of you are laying in his bed, top and tails on his duvet, looking up at the ornate ceiling.
"What are you apologising for?" Felix's face hurts from how much he's been smiling. It's been happening pretty much every night now, he can't remember having more fun over Summer in his whole life, he has no idea why you're apologising.
But you grow quiet.
"I dunno," you say softly, and shift your knee to press into his elbow. A strange silence settles over you both, and somehow he knows that's not all of it, that there's more on your mind you don't know how to say, "all of it," you finally say, and try and laugh again but can't quite manage it.
"You're so weird," Felix sighs finally, dramatically, bringing levity back to the moment and sticking his foot in your face as you protest loudly.
"You're so gross!" You cry, glad that you two were the only ones on this side of the house, shoving him away, smacking and kicking just as he was too, until the two of you are scraping. Tonight you win, biting at his shins until he calls for a truce, and you grin in triumph.
This more human side of you bleeds into the daytime. You tease Venetia but help her rope Farleigh and Felix in a fashion show, just so she can tease up their hair and put them in makeup and sequins. You scrap and squabble with Farleigh in the lake but end up laying all over each other during movie nights with the rest of the family.
And Felix? Well it takes little time for the rest of the house to see how close you become.
There's always something fond, something almost proud in his parents' eyes when they see the two of you together now. They host little events over the Summer, and they start introducing you and Felix together.
"Our beautiful boy, Felix, and his darling, little friend Y/N; a friend of the family."
Still, you shrink away at events; you hide if you can get away with it. Felix always finds you, and then he finds Farleigh and Venetia and the four of you will often play cards in one of the quieter rooms you were all still allowed to be in for the duration of the party. At first he doesn't ask, but curiosity gets the better of him eventually.
"Don't like being looked at," you muttered, distracted as you frowned at your hand of cards. Venetia scoffs and Farleigh rolls his eyes.
"I'm not meant to be looked at," is the real answer you give when you and Felix sneak out of your rooms to eat leftovers at three in the morning. Sitting on the kitchen counter, you've got a plate of half-finished hors d'oeuvre between you. You're focused on the food, unable to look at him.
"What's that even mean?"
"Dunno," you shrugged, "just not meant to be looked at."
"I'm looking at you now," Felix leans in, opens his eyes as wide as he's able, and is rewarded by you cracking a smile when you finally glance at him, unable to help yourself.
"Not like that," you shove his face away, rolling your eyes even though you can't stop smiling, "like, there's people who matter at these fancy events that our parents go to, and people who don't matter, like they're people so of course they matter, but they don't matter to the people who matter, you know?"
"Kind of?"
"Like you matter because you're a Catton, but you don't matter because you're ten, but your parents matter-matter. Waiters don't matter one way or the other, which is mean but it's true at stuff like that," its starting to make more sense, but Felix can't help but watch how you're picking apart a cracker almost atom-by-atom as you explain, "and I matter because I- I, um," you stumble over your words, "because I just matter, but again, I'm a kid," you clear your throat awkwardly, "but I'm not really meant to even go to those things, and if I do, I have to really seem like I don't matter, like even less than a waiter; the least matter-ing person to not matter."
Then, finally looking up, you meet his gaze and apologise. There's something almost forlorn in your eyes.
Felix still doesn't know what to make of you in this moment. A strange creature. A marvel. Someone who matters, even if you're not meant to; someone he decides matters to him.
"You're being so weird," he grins finally. You burst out laughing, whole face lighting up, tension leaving you in an instant. It sets him off too, filling the kitchen with joy.
Sure, the two of you should probably be quieter in this moment, in the dead of night, but neither of you can bring yourselves to care.
Felix doesn't realise how this moment, this first Summer sticks with him. It takes him a long time to even bother questioning why it is that you start spending every Summer with them, how you convince your parents to let you join him at boarding school for secondary school after spending all Summer before talking about how cool it would be. In due time you will finally make total sense to him, but by then it won't even matter, it won't change anything about how glad he is to have you by his side.
Felix doesn't think about why or when he decided to make sure you knew that you mattered, but there's a little bit of it in everything he does.

Toji watched the smoke billow up from his cigarette, swirling in the air, echoing his swirling emotions. His thoughts were on you. How shitty his whole situation already was and now you were a part of it.
No. He reminded himself that you were nothing more than a neighbor. Nothing more than a babysitter. He took a drag of the cigarette and stared into the night sky. Things always got messy when Megumi was involved, but it was too late. He fucked up. He shouldn't have opened his big mouth and told you so much.
Granted, he was pretty convinced you wanted to have sex with him. Maybe not so much anymore, but that didn't stop him from thinking about it. That hazy expression you had after drinking a little whiskey was stuck in his head as he took another drag of his cigarette. "Fuck," he mumbled, trying to push the memory out of his mind.
Toji's phone rang. He looked at the caller ID and picked up. "Yeah?" He spoke with disinterest.
"I've got a job for you." The voice said. "It'll take a few days."
Toji closed his eyes briefly, shaking off his emotions. "Timing couldn't be better."
"Oh?" the man responded. "Something happen with that neighbor girl?"
"Shut up." Toji hissed before adding, "Shouldn't have told you about her."
"So I take it you need a babysitter." There was a pause while Toji finished his cigarette, tossing it on the ground and stepping on it.
"If you're offering." Toji was dreading the thought of facing you again. As much as he wanted to fuck you, he'd be just as happy if you decided you didn't want to see him again. It'd be easier for everyone.
"I don't mind." Toji could hear the faint chuckle from the other line. "Maybe she'll stop by."
"Don't get any ideas," Toji scowled. A strange possessiveness came over him, not that he had any claim over you. He hadn't felt this way in a long time.
"Interesting." The man on the other line mused.
"You're getting ideas, Shiu." Toji muttered. "Are you really gonna piss me off to talk to the neighbor chick? You, of all people, should know how bad that could end for you."
Shiu just laughed. "You'd never."
"Try me." Toji snarled into the phone before hanging up with a sigh.
-
You texted Toji. He was acting weird when you parted ways last night, so you wanted to make amends. Not necessarily for Toji, but the thought of leaving Megumi like that made you feel guilty. Although, you'd be lying if you said you didn't feel bad for upsetting Toji, too.
You went the entire day without hearing from him, so when you got home from work, you considered stopping by. If he wasn't around, Megumi would be there and he'd probably want company, anyway. So, you changed out of your work clothes and knocked on his door.
It was only minutes before the door creaked open, a stranger behind it. He had a thin mustache, short hair, and wore a button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up. He smirked, eyeing you up and down before he spoke.
"You must be the neighbor girl."
"And you are...?" You looked confused, glancing in the apartment behind him for Megumi.
"Shiu Kong." He stuck his hand out. "A friend of Toji's."
"Are you in security, too?" You asked.
He chuckled. "Yeah." There was a short pause, then he added, "He's got a job in another town for a few days. I watch the kid sometimes when he's gone."
At the sound of your voice, Megumi rushed to the door. "Miss MC!" He had a bright smile. "I finished another puzzle. Come look!" He grabbed your hand as Shiu stepped out of the way to let you through. Megumi led you to his spot on the living room carpet, flipping through the newly completed puzzles as you complimented his work.
Shiu simply observed, wondering what it was about you that had captured Toji's interest. Megumi had clearly grown attached to you already. He was more animated than Shiu had ever seen. The kid had been telling him about you earlier, about how you brought him to the store and tucked him in. Clearly, the missing piece in Megumi's life was some kind of mother figure.
Shiu knew Toji better than that, though. He knew it was unlikely he'd talked to Megumi about you, and even less likely that he talked to you about Megumi. Regardless, Toji never really cared about what Megumi wanted, and that alone wouldn't have Toji acting the way he was. Something else must have happened between the two of you.
He pulled out his phone, taking a picture of you on the floor with Megumi. He immediately texted it to Toji, with the caption: look who decided to visit.
Toji: tell her to leave.
The response was almost immediate, making Shiu chuckle. Toji rarely got possessive like this. Of course, he had no intention of backing down. This was just far too interesting.
"MC," Shiu called your name, walking closer as both you and Megumi looked at him. "Care to chat? I was hoping to ask you something." Megumi frowned, eyeing him.
"Sure." You stood, following the man to the kitchen. Megumi snuck behind, hiding just out of sight so he could eavesdrop.
"Toji's going to be gone a few days, and I'm not much of a chef." Shiu stated. "Would you mind making us dinner tomorrow? I've already ordered delivery for tonight."
"Oh," you smiled brightly at the idea of making another friend. "Of course. Megumi would like that, too."
"He would," Shiu smiled back. There was a short pause. "I have another question. You know how Toji is, he won't tell me anything. Are you together?"
You laughed, thinking it was a joke for a moment before you realized he was being serious. "Sorry, uh, no. We're not... anything. Just friends."
"Is it that ridiculous that I asked?" He chuckled. "Sorry, just wanted to make sure."
"Why? Did he say something about me?" You tilted your head. The nature of the conversation was still lighthearted, and you could feel your heart beat a little faster at Shiu's boy-next-door charm.
"Nothing, really. But he doesn't normally mention the women he sleeps with."
The phrase echoed in your head. The women he sleeps with. You figured Toji probably slept around with how flirty he was, but you never thought about it. Still, the confirmation had you feeling a little shattered. A little inadequate.
"Toji and I haven't slept together, if that's what he told you." The smile left your face as you leaned against the countertop.
"No, no." Shiu smiled nervously. "I meant to say, he doesn't really mention women at all. Not since his wife left him."
"Do you know her? What is she like?" You pried, thinking maybe if you can get a little of information from Shiu, you wouldn't have to bring it up with Toji again.
"She was good for him. Made him a better man." He sighed. "But she's better off." There was a long pause as you contemplated whether you really wanted to know the answer to your next question.
"Did he love her?" You asked quietly. Shiu studied your expression. Some shyness. Almost like you didn't want to know. Toji certainly wouldn't want you to know. And yet, the man couldn't resist.
"I think so. In his own fucked up way." He replied. He couldn't lie to you, not for this. And he knew that eventually, it would all catch up to Toji, regardless. "But she's long gone. Seriously."
You took in a deep breath. The ramifications weighed heavy on your mind. One of them was lying to you. Shiu stepped closer, gently holding your cheek as your eyes met his gaze.
"Hey. He's going through something that has nothing to do with you. You can be there for Megumi with or without his blessing." Shiu's brown eyes shimmered as you looked at him, your heart racing. Even though he was practically a stranger, you felt so close to him at this moment. Maybe it had just been too long since you'd felt affection, but it was nice.
Your thoughts felt so foggy. You needed to leave and clear your head. You felt drawn to Shiu, and you weren't sure how much of that was his smooth-talking and how much of it was real. You pictured Toji finding out and in your mind he just shrugged, his apathy like a knife in your heart. But, if he didn't care, why did you?
"I should go." You mumbled, shuffling out of the kitchen. "See you tomorrow, Megumi." You waved, not even sparing a glance at the living room before leaving the apartment. Megumi was relieved- you would have caught him listening in.
Shiu followed behind you, instantly noticing Megumi's poor hiding spot. "Eavesdropping again?" He laughed.
"You're not allowed to flirt with her." Megumi pouted.
"She's a little old for you." Shiu ruffled Megumi's hair with a grin.
"No, for dad." He pulled away, pink dusting his cheeks. "She's nice. I want her to keep hanging out with dad. He likes her."
Shiu looked at the kid, shocked he'd say something so on the nose. He had just been thinking the same thing. Maybe you were the one who could force Toji to move on.
-
Your emotions swirled in your head. You felt even worse now. Toji only reopened those wounds last night because of you. And you didn't even give him anything in return. No truths, no dares. You stared at the text conversation between you, wondering what you might say to apologize.
It would be better in person, of course. But you had no idea when he'd be back and you were afraid he hated you.
You: I'm sorry about last night... please let me make it up to you.
There it was- the familiar silence of waiting for a message from Toji. He was traveling for work. You had to keep reminding yourself like a mantra while you cooked dinner. Still nothing after you finished eating. It was hours before you finally got a response.
Toji: i told you i'm saving that dare for later You: I mean as an apology. I feel bad. Toji: for what? she means nothing to me. i don't care that you asked.
That wasn't what Shiu said. You wanted to believe Toji, but your gut told you something wasn't right. He took her name. That's especially weird with an arranged marriage. You suddenly had a sinking feeling that you couldn't trust him. That Shiu was the one telling the truth.
You: ok then. Toji: did something happen?
You didn't know how to talk to him at this point. What else was he lying about? You could feel yourself spiraling in negative thoughts. You needed to stop talking to him, but your fingers compelled you to type one more message.
You: I talked to Shiu. It just feels like you're lying to me. Maybe we should just be friends. I still want to be there for Megumi.
Toji didn't respond to that text message. Not that you were expecting it.
-
Long after he and Megumi finished dinner, Shiu's phone rang. He didn't bother looking at the caller ID; he knew who would be on the other line.
"Hey." Shiu excused himself to smoke a cigarette outside, leaving Megumi to his nature documentary. The kid didn't need to overhear this.
"What'd you fuckin' say to her?" Toji barked.
"Not even a hello? I thought we were friends, Fushiguro." He mused.
"Just tell me what you said, you fuckin' prick." He sounded furious, which just made Shiu smirk.
"Keep talking like that and I'll start to think you have a little crush." Shiu wore an easy smile as he stepped outside. It was getting late. The sun had just dipped below the horizon. He pulled out a cigarette, placing it loosely between his lips.
"Fucking christ. Why is talking to you like pulling teeth?" Toji sighed.
"Calm down. I told her the truth, man." He lit the cigarette.
"The truth?" Toji hissed.
"What," He sighed, taking a drag, "was I supposed to baby her or something? Tell her you never loved your wife? That you're just a wellspring of affection waiting for the right cute neighbor girl to shower with adoration?"
"My ex-wife." Toji corrected him.
"You never signed the papers, dude. You're still married, whether or not those feelings still exist."
"Fuck off." Toji growled.
"You know I'm right, man." Shiu took another drag, watching the sky slowly darken behind his clouds of smoke.
"Yeah? If you're so perfect, where's your girl, Casanova?" Though his tone was still short, he seemed calmer now. Shiu was a seasoned expert at de-escalating Toji's fury.
"Dunno." Toji knew Shiu well enough to picture the shit-eating grin on his face as he spoke. "Maybe she's across the hall. Maybe she's making dinner for me and Megumi tomorrow."
"You didn't." It was a rare treat for Shiu to ruffle Toji's feathers like this.
"You're really down bad, eh?" He chuckled. "Consider it my payment for taking care of the kid."
"I'm gonna wring your fucking neck, Kong." Toji growled into the receiver. "She isn't a payment. Christ."
"You're right. She's a free woman. And she's right to be cautious of you. You know that." Shiu puffed the cigarette before adding, "and I'm not giving up my cut of this job, so don't even think about it."
There was a deafening silence. "Shiu." Toji's voice had softened. Almost like he was feeling reasonable now. "Seriously. What's your game?"
"I was thinking about asking her out. She's cute." He smiled, wishing there was a little less light pollution so he could see the stars. Not that the parking lot of this dingy apartment building would be very picturesque.
"No." Toji shot back. "Cancel."
"Why should I?" He took a long drag.
"Are you gonna make me say it?" Toji's voice was tired. Shiu knew that this wasn't the only thing on his plate now, but Toji was resistant to change unless he was pushed to his breaking point.
A humorless chuckle escaped Shiu's lips, smoke trailing out with it. "Why don't you tell me the real reason you never signed those papers instead?"
Toji huffed. After a long pause, he relented. "Megumi deserves a better father. He deserves an out, and I can't give that to him."
"You think she can?" Shiu asked. He figured it was something like this. There was another long pause.
"Dunno anymore." He sighed.
"You want my opinion?" Shiu finished his cigarette. "She's not the escape you think she is. She'd be stupid to come back just to clean up the mess you made. This is on you, man. You can't keep putting off happiness like some fucking edgelord. Megumi's miserable, you're miserable, just let this neighbor girl in a little. Let her make you happy. Fuck."
"You think she wants that? To get involved with... all this?" Toji was quiet, almost pensive.
"Why don't you ask?" Shiu walked over to the trash, putting out his cig before tossing it.
"And tell her everything? Fuck off, dude." Toji hung up without another word.
Shiu looked at his phone with a smirk. "Here I thought we were making progress," he mused to himself as he returned to the apartment.
-
The next morning, Shiu poured himself a cup of coffee as Megumi ate his cereal at a barstool. "Hey, uncle Shiu?" The nickname always made Shiu smile.
"What is it?" He looked at the kid. It wasn't very often that he started a conversation.
"Why did you say my mom is better off without my dad?" Megumi looked at his cereal.
"You heard that, huh?" He set the coffee down on the counter, now directly across from Megumi. "Listen, your dad isn't emotionally intelligent. Do you know what that means?" Megumi shook his head. He did not. "It means that he's not good at recognizing and expressing his feelings."
Shiu sighed, wondering how to put this without giving Megumi too much information. "Your dad loved your mom, but I don't think it was for the right reasons. He loved what she could offer him. It was an arranged marriage to her, but to him, it was an escape."
"An escape? From what?" Megumi tilted his head.
"From his family." Shiu smiled softly.
"Dad has family?" The kid asked, a shocked look on his face.
"Yeah, but they were mean to him, so he doesn't want them to meet you." Shiu sipped his coffee. "He's protecting you, I think."
"I don't want him to protect me." Megumi pouted.
"Oh?" Shiu chuckled. "You want his family to be mean to you, too?"
"Maybe they won't be mean to me." He shoveled another bite of cereal in his mouth.
"His family is mean to everyone." Shiu set his mug down. "You'll understand when you're older."
Megumi was quiet. This wasn't the first time he'd been told this. He frowned, wanting to know more but not knowing how to get it. "What does that mean?"
"Your father is in a dangerous line of work. You're putting yourself in danger if you ask too many questions." Shiu dismissed him again, this time much more seriously.
"What about Miss MC?" Megumi asked.
"She knows even less than you do." Shiu took another sip of coffee. "Are you worried about her?" He leaned on the counter behind him, facing Megumi with the mug in hand.
"She asks a lot of questions." He simply responded. "Does that mean I should protect her?"
Shiu chuckled, "I think you're a little small to be protecting anybody."
"Then dad should protect her." Megumi finished his bowl of cereal and brought it to the sink. He wasn't tall enough to rinse it out, so he just set it down and returned to his barstool.
"What makes you say that?"
"He likes her. I can tell. He's way nicer to her than he is to you." Megumi sat back down.
"Hey," Shiu laughed. "He doesn't even know her. I'm his best friend."
Megumi looked at Shiu with disbelief, "really? He's not very nice to you." Shiu couldn't really tell if the kid was joking or not- he was one of Toji's only friends that had even met him.
"That's his shitty emotional intelligence." He stepped away from the counter. "Even when he likes people, he won't show it. I don't think he's ever told me we're friends, but we are."
"How do you know?" Megumi looked at him with those piercing blue eyes.
"We've shared too many beers and stories to be anything else." He shrugged.
"Does Miss MC know he likes her?"
Shiu paused at Megumi's question. The answer was undoubtedly no. But it's not like they could really do anything about it. Toji was a stubborn fool. He'd push her away completely before even considering the thought of taking her on a date. If Shiu or Megumi talked to him about it, he'd be even more resistant to the idea. God forbid she asks him out- Toji was way too old-fashioned about his views of masculinity to accept that.
"I don't think she does." He responded.
"We gotta tell her. So she knows about his emotional intelligence." Megumi earned another chuckle from Shiu.
"I'm not sure we should interfere." Shiu finished his coffee, returning to the kitchen. Megumi followed. "At least, not so directly."
"Why not?" Megumi pouted.
"Your dad needs to think it's his idea. Otherwise, he won't do anything." Shiu thought for a minute. "But he needs a little push. You're right about that. Let's think about it. Maybe we can come up with a plan." He smiled at the kid, not realizing his words would plant a seed into the little guy's head.

-Deuce’s Winter Break-
(This story is from Deuce's perspective during the events of book four. I only know information from the English server story and events so sorry if anything is terribly out of character. This fic is platonic and is cannon for my female Yuu-sona, but I do just call them Yuu in the story. Yuu uses she/her pronouns. Hope you enjoy! Ps. There is a little bit of cussing. Found the pictures in a post by @ naruryun, they are not mine.)
“We should trade Magicam IDs now that you've got a smartphone,” Ace pulled out his phone and began typing out Yuu’s account in the search bar, “Y'know, in case something comes up.”
I smiled as I pulled up the app on my own phone, “Oh, good idea. I'll share mine, too.”
Yuu’s ID was a play on the fact that the headmaster called her “Beast Master” after we got back from the dwarf’s mine. I could always tell she was secretly proud of that title.
Ace finished adding her, “Feel free to hit me up if you get bored over winter break.”
She smirked, which was her form of a smile, “Thanks, I'll do that.”
“Man, you take everything I say so seriously Yuu,” Ace chuckled, “I was joking.”
I glared, “Then it was a lame one,” I then turned to smile at Yuu as I added her, “Anyway, feel free to reach out if you need anything at all,” I quickly tucked my phone in my pocket and grabbed my bag, “My mom's probably waiting on me, so I'd better go,” I began walking towards the Dark Mirror, “Happy holidays guys.”
I could hear Ace behind me, “Yeah, I'll do the same. See you next year!” I could hear him running to catch up with me, but I was already whispering the name of my street and stepping into the murky abyss.
Tumblr media
It was hard to see my mom among the other kids meeting their families. Children cheering as their older siblings came home from their schools, parents hugging their grown babies and fussing over their bags of laundry, and the students basking in the attention that coming home brings.
I looked through the crowd and found my mom. My grandmother always said I was the spitting image of her. She had straight, navy blue hair cut into a bob, blonde streaks weaving into a larger mass of hair.  Her eyes looked gray in the afternoon sun, but I knew they were really cyan.
She caught my eye and lit up, “Deuce!”
I ran over to save her the trouble, “Hey Mom.”
“Let me get a look at you,” Mom gently grabbed my face and moved me around, “I can barely believe that’s my son.”
I pulled back and put my hand behind my neck, “I guess I’ve changed a bit since I left.”
She smiled, “You have no idea how proud I am of you.”
I flushed under her gaze, “Let’s head on home.”
She giggled, “As long as you tell me all about school.”
I gathered my bag under my arm, “Fine.”
Tumblr media
Home was the same as it had been when I left. A small apartment with blankets piled on every chair and letters piled on the kitchen counter. I set my bag in my room and then moved to the kitchen, where Mom had begun fixing dinner.
“I’m making folded egg sandwiches,” Mom had her back turned to me, “Is that alright?”
“Yeah,” I sat down at the dining table, “So what do you want to know?”
“Everything,” Mom moved to the stove, “I haven’t heard anything from your teachers.”
“Well I’m doing okay in class, but that might just be because Trey, Riddle, and Yuu help me out.”
“Who are they?”
“Well, Trey and Riddle are in Heartslabyul with me. Trey’s the vice-housewarden and he’s like the dorm mother hen. He’s done most of the tutoring, but Riddle helps him sometimes. Riddle’s the housewarden and he’s ridiculously strict.”
“Oh really?” Mom started grating cheese, “And who’s this Yuu person?”
“Yuu is one of my-” I tried to think of the right word. Our group never calls ourselves ‘friends’, but that seems to be the only word to describe how we are. Yuu calls us “Dumbass Beasts”, but I don’t want to tell my Mom that.
“She’s one of my best friends.”
I could hear Mom’s eyebrow raise, “‘She’? Isn’t Night Raven an All Boys school?”
“That surprised me too, but Yuu’s an exception to a lot of rules,” My phone vibrated with a message, I spoke as I went to pull it up, “She doesn’t have magic, she’s only half a student, and she isn’t even from this world.”
Mom grabbed the bread from the breadbox, “I’m going to need you to explain all of that.”
“I wish I could.”
The message was from Yuu; Cater has been tagging me in his old photos for the past two hours. How did he even know I got a Magicam account? I couldn’t help but laugh.
Mom scooped the folded eggs onto the bread, “At least explain the ‘half a student’ comment.”
“Well,” I sat my phone back on the table, “Since Yuu doesn’t have magic she and this monster named Grim share a single enrollment. But Yuu’s in charge of him since she’s the Ramshackle dorm prefect.”
“Ah,” Mom set the plate down in front of me, “Is that all your friends?”
“Nah, I’m friends with Ace too,” I got up to get something to drink, “He’s one of my roommates.”
“Ace Trappola?” Mom began making her own egg sandwich, “I think his father works at your grandfather’s company.”
I poured a glass of orange juice and made my way back to the table, “The four of us have done a lot in one semester.”
“Like what?”
“Well Ace and I challenged Riddle for his title.”
“What?”
“Yeah,” I took a sip of my juice, “Ace got in trouble for eating Riddle’s tart and then it became a huge deal. Riddle ended up overbloting.”
I swear Mom’s eyes bulged out of her head, “Overblot!?”
“Yeah. Yuu led all of us into battle to keep the other student’s safe and to keep Riddle from destroying himself. But that was only the first overblot.”
“The first?”
“Yeah don’t worry about it,” I took a large bite of my sandwich, “Yuu always has it under control. Even if she’s just directing us. It’s amazing.”
Mom sat down next to me, “Do you have a picture of your friends?”
I picked up my phone, “Not unless you count pictures Cater took while we weren’t expecting it. And then posted on Magicam with a dozen hashtags.”
“Maybe you could ask Yuu and Grim for a picture? I’d love to see them.”
“Sure,” I opened up Yuu’s message, “It’s not like they have much else to do at school.”
“At school? Did they not go somewhere for winter break?”
“They didn’t have anywhere to go.”
Mom set down her food, “Invite them to come here in spring. I’d be happy to host them.”
I chuckled, “Alright,” I texted Yuu; Hey my mom wants to see a pic of you and Grim. Mind sending one?
It took a moment for Yuu to respond; Yeah sure. Just let me get the weasel.
I set my phone down, “She’s gonna send a picture of her and Grim.”
“How sweet,” Mom took the moment to begin eating.
Our conversation dissolved into specific stories and the basics of our lives apart. It was weird how I felt so at home, while only feeling like a guest in the apartment. My Mom gushed and worried in waves as I talked about the Spelldrive tournament and the final exams. It was sweet to see her so happy about my actions. About who I was. I had given her a son to be proud of.
Tumblr media
I spent the next day with my mom, meeting with other family and shopping for the holidays. But that night my phone lit up with a message from Yuu; Trapped in Scarabia, I’ll explain later.
I was up all night, waiting for my phone to buzz again, but the only notification I got was Ace messaging me to ask if I had heard anything else from Yuu.
Eight AM came around and I chugged two cups of coffee before heading out on a walk to keep my mind off of Yuu’s vague and semi-terrifying message.
“Hey Deuce!” I froze in my tracks, turning to see my old ‘pal’ Hatter, his lackey Coney trailing behind.
Hatter was the leader of the delinquents I hung out with in middle school. He called me his equal until I went straight. His appearance hadn’t changed; hair bleached a platinum blonde, green eyes that constantly had a crazed look as they dashed from victim to victim, a trailing black jacket with copper buttons, and of course his iconic evergreen tophat with the price tag sticking out the brim.
Coney matched the jacket, but he had his own brand of insane to portray. His hair was bleached to a honey blonde and his brown rabbit ears stuck out of his head with copper piercings along every furry edge. His black eyes always seemed to be watching Hatter, as if he was waiting for the signal to attack.
“How have you been, man?” Hatter wrapped his arm around my shoulder as if we had only been apart for a week or so, “Coney here was just saying how much he missed seeing you on that blastcycle of yours. Right Coney?”
Coney nodded like his life depended on it, “Yes! Yes!”
“Look guys,” I made an effort to move out of their reach, “I’m not-”
“Aw,” Coney stopped nodding, “Are you not fun anymore?”
“What?”
“Sounds like you hit the bullseye Coney,” Hatter began messing with his brim, a signal to change their approach, “I guess you were serious about that ‘going straight’ thing.”
“I am,” I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket, “And I have to go.”
“Go?” Hatter came closer, backing me into an alleyway, “But we just reunited!”
“I’m not like you guys anymore,” my hand gripped my phone in my pocket, praying that it would buzz again, “I have friends who need me right now.”
Coney’s hand drifted towards a bright blue dumpster, “You think you're better than us?”
“No way mate,” Hatter smirked and whipped his own magic pen out, “Tea Party!” My arms went flying up, my phone and other valuables making a mad dash for Hatter’s and Coney’s open hands. Hatter caught my phone and looked at the message, “This ‘Ace’ fella is.”
My heart sank, the message wasn’t from Yuu.
Coney looked over, “Oh what’s this? You and this ‘Ace’ are talking about a girl?”
“What did he say?”
Hatter smirked, “Oh? So this ‘going straight’ thing is for the eye of some lovely lady. I’m hurt.”
“No,” I marched forward and grabbed my wallet from Coney’s hand, “I’m becoming a better person for myself. I want to be an honor’s student and I’m doing a damn good job. Yuu is just a friend.”
“Sure,” Hatter rolled his eyes, “I’ll believe that,” he changed his voice to mock mine, “‘Look at me, giving up my freedom for some stupid dream of being an honor’s student.’ No way. You’re not built for that Deuce.”
My phone buzzed in his hand.
“I used to respect you Spade,” He put my phone in the ribbon of his tophat, taunting me, “Now look at you. You’re a fucking chump.”
My phone buzzed again. Something inside of me snapped like a dry twig. I could feel my body heat from the inside out, old mussels returning to their place. I didn’t reach for my pen. I just punched the bastard.
Hatter went flying back into the wall, clearly expecting to have to taunt me longer before I took action. Coney didn’t hesitate to pounce on me, knocking me to the ground under him. He fired off punch after punch, leaving the taste of blood on my lips. I kicked him off and into Hatter, aiming to get my phone back. I had to see if it was Yuu.
It all turned into a blurr. A barrage of fists coming from all directions. All I focused on was Hatter’s stupid tophat.
I got the phone back and backed away. No one followed me.
Tumblr media
All of the messages were from Ace.
Yuu hasn’t explained. What does her text even mean?
Should we go back and check on her?
I’m going. I don’t know what’s happening but it sounds like trouble. Meet me at the bus stop in town in two hours if you’re joining me.
I cleaned off in a park restroom before running home to pack a duffel bag. Mom was immediately understanding and packed me a few sandwiches for Ace and me. She smiled and reminded me that Yuu was welcome to come back with me, as well as telling me to text her when I was coming back. I nodded and gave her a hug before running out the door.
Tumblr media
The two hours were up and I met with Ace at the bus stop.
Ace was pacing, waiting for the noon bus, “Who just messages that they’ve been kidnaped and then doesn’t respond for twelve hours!? Yuu’s going to be the death of us.”
“Calm down,” I hid my own anxieties, “This is Yuu we’re talking about. If anyone can handle being ‘trapped’, it’s her. Plus, Grim should be with her.”
“You say that like that’s a good thing.”
“Fair enough,” I kept going, “But despite the fact that it’s Grim, he can still fire off spells. Plus he’s pretty good with fire magic. Maybe we’ll arrive to see Scarabia in blue flames.”
“Again, you say that like that’s a good thing.”
“It’s the best thing I can think of.”
The PA system cracked to life, “Bus to Night Raven terminal is now boarding on platform three.”
“Come on,” I grabbed my bags and began walking, “Our friend needs us.”

ooo i used to be really big into classpecting in my homestuck days. off the top of my head, id say cloud: maid of void, tifa: mage of blood, barret: seer of doom, aerith: heir of hope, yuffie: thief of time, red: knight of breath, zack: knight of void, and seph: witch of light!! (unfortunatley i dont have a super great hold on cid/vincent/reeve as characters soi dont have a really clear idea for them). happy 4/13!!
Whoa! Thanks! Hope you don't mind me digging right into these.
Cloud: Maid of Void, I can definitely see this as someone filled with nothing or battling with the sense of nothing inside of him. I actually could also see him being a Prince of Blood or something along those lines, a double-edged sword where he starts out destroying his relations with other people, but then being able to use his bonds with others more as a 'power of friendship' style weapon. Also possibly Doom, intially dooming himself but ultimately utilizing it to doom and destroy Sephroth...?
Tifa: Mage of Blood. I love this as Tifa being away of her connections to others and trying to utilize those connections, be the glue that's keeping people together, and especially utilizing that to keep Cloud together. I could also see her being a Maid of Life, especially in regards to how she ultimately is the one who heals Cloud's mind.
Barret: Seer of Doom is such an interesting choice! Like, how he can see the state of the world, which makes it all the more interesting how much he strives to change things. Another could be Knight of Hope, by the way he's sort of the face of the AVALANCHE, which is hope, and how he can provide that hope and drive to others.
Aerith: Heir of Hope, super goes with Aerith and just totally embodying hope for the team, and then how that hope takes a hit with her death. I'd suggest also Heir of Time, with the connection of death and fate really matching her, especially in regards to Rebirth.
Yuffie: Theif of Time. The girl is born to be a theif lol, though giving her such a death-connected aspect is super interesting. I could maybe see Theif of Mind or Space better? Yuffie's a hard one to match up tbh. Mind because it has to do with karma and intelligence, and I think it'd combine interestingly with how Yuffie is often underestimated, as well as the retribution she's seeking for Wutai. And then Space because she strikes me as creative I guess haha (and let's be real, I am a little bit trying to get both Time and Space into here).
Nanaki: Knight of Breath. Fuck yeah give the one who was trapped the freedom aspect. No notes, I love this.
Zack: Knight of Void. I like how this connects him to Cloud, but I'm not sure how I like it for Zack. To me, he hits me more as a Page of Light or something that actually reached his full potential, with Light and fortune kinda going well with the DMW and then how it fails him in the end.
Sephiroth: Witch of Light. Super interesting take! Controlling fate! I think you could also easily make him a Witch of Doom, which is also kind of fate-inclined, but if I recall correclty Doom is often more towards oneself. Still either way I could see it.
Cid: I don't know him super well either, but I could see him being Hope or Blood considering he becomes the leader after Cloud is gone and kind of needs to rally the troops. Maybe a Rogue, being able to take those aspects and share them around to the group?
Vincent: Considering his whole deal with the various beasts inside of him, I'd be tempted to say Heir or Prince of Rage. But then, considering he's still alive despite everything he's been through, i could also see him being a Life player.
Reeve: Easy, Mage of Heart, aware of his power of splintering himself and utilizing that with Cait Sith. Also possibly adding to how he's at the 'heart' of a lot of the problems aka within Shinra Tower.
If anyone has any other thoughts on the matter, would love to hear them!

I've dreamed of this | Pt. IX
Tumblr media
Summary: You are a part of the BAU, and for the longest time you and Dr. Spencer Reid had been best of friends, even when it was clear to everyone else, and at times to you, that you should be more than that, and when something almost happens on a night out with the team, everything is destined to change.
This is a double pov story (each chapter will be alternated between y/n's and spencer's pov)
Chapter summary: Penelope calls you, and causes a chain reaction
warnings: angst (please don’t be mad at me)
<if you want to be added to the tag-list comment or write to me>
previous part | next part
*I'm really sorry for the long wait*
y/n
even his couch felt more comfortable than your own.
It was like you were meant to be here, it felt, like you were meant to be here.
The moment you woke up this morning, your head against his chest, and his sweet amber eyes looking down at you, the only question scratching your mind was why? Why have I waited this long for something I now see, was everything I've always wanted, if not needed?
It didn't make sense,
but then again, it did.
He had told you not to move, begged you even, to promise you wouldn't leave, and you didn't know how to tell him that that wasn't even a possibility you had weighed.
He had, unwillingly, left for work, and left you in his sunny apartment, feeling at home in one that was not your own.
You had been here before, dinners with the team, crashing at his place, movie nights where he either spent the whole time translating the film, or complaining about the improbability portrayed in the ones you chose.
You had been here, sure, but never like this,
now, it was as if you were looking at a whole new flat, a whole new world, one where things did, work out, and where his dark green walls maybe weren't so bad after all.
You had this feeling in your chest you couldn't describe as you smiled brainlessly at the off tv, relieving every second of the past 12 hours.
"I'd be lying if I said I didn't want this- a lot, for a very long time"
"I don't think I've ever meant anything more"
"would you just please let me kiss you?"
" I could too"
"I like you y/n, I've liked you for a very long time, In a way, I had never had before, and I know this isn't ideal, that there are a lot of things we should consider and talk about, and I'm willing to do that, but I just thought you should know"
"I like you, and I'm serious about this"
All of it in your brain, a constant background above the silence around you.
it felt like a dream,
this couldn't be real,
right?
You had spent so much time fighting it, rationalizing all of it, your feelings for him, the way your heart would melt every time he blushed or smiled, and now there you were.
It all felt surreal.
This wasn't supposed to happen,
This was the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden,
and still,
you had taken a bite of the apple,
and nothing had happened,
not yet anyway.
Ring Ring
Your phone was ringing.
"Hello?" you hadn't even looked at the caller ID
"hi gorgeous, how's it going?" You recognized Penelope's voice.
You smiled at that "great" you said "it's going great"
"Really? Emily said she talked to you yesterday and you seemed down"
"Oh yes" you recalled "well, everything is better now"
"Really?"
"yes, really Pen" you smiled at her thoughtfulness,
"So did you find some things to do?"
You had to hide a laugh "Yes-yes I definitely did"
"Cool like what?"
fuck
it wasn't like you could tell her the truth.
oh yeah, so I basically got into a relationship that I'd been avoiding for years with Spencer, our coworker.
That didn't seem like it would work out
"I- I started watching- " you looked around frantically, and your eyes spotted a book "I started watching the lord of the rings"
"the whole saga?" she asked, shocked
"yes, it's been keeping me occupied"
"Spencer's gonna be happy about that" she scoffed amusedly.
Your cheeks flushed just at the mention of his name "Speaking of which" she said, and you could hear the smirk on her lips "Wonderboy arrived late today" she snickered "word on the street is he's got a girlfriend"
"What?" the words fled your mouth before you could stop them
How was it possible they already knew?
Yes, they were profilers, but no profiler was that good.
"Yes, let's just say he must have forgotten about some marks the lucky lady left on his neck"
Shit
Shit shit shit
"oh" you could only breathe
"not to mention how distracted he is " she chuckled softly "he hasn't even done his crossword this morning" she whispered as if it was some sort of profanity,
which, of course, it kind of was,
Spencer never missed a day, the whole team knew it.
You didn't know what to say, and so you stayed silent.
You could feel Penelope's attitude shift "Shoot- listen I know you two were kind of... I don't know- something-" she trailed off "but maybe this is better you know, with the whole Hotch thing and you being friends"
"I mean it's not like a woman like you doesn't have a line of men waiting for her"
"We weren't- anything" you clarified
"Sorry, I probably shouldn't have told you" you could hear the sadness creeping up her voice.
"It's fine, Pen, I'm-I'm happy for him"
"alright," she said, even though both of you knew she was still mortified "well anyway I and the gals thought we could come by this afternoon to keep you company"
Oh fuck
they couldn't come by, you weren't even there.
"oh no don't do that"
really y/n? that's the best you could come up with?
"why?" Penelope asked
C'mon think of something
"I just- I'm feeling a bit sick"
"oh" she hummed "I'm sorry," she said, " why didn't you say anything before?"
"I just didn't want you to worry"
"I'm- I'm not " she lied plainly "I could make you some soup you know? I could bring it to you. Yes, you know what, I'm gonna get off work earlier and get started on it-"
"Wait Pen"
"yes?" she stopped her rambling, and it surprised you she still had air left in her lungs.
"I think it's best if I just rest a bit y'know?"
"Sure" she smiled, but you could tell she was disappointed and worried altogether "I understand"
"thank Pen, say hi to the team for me"
"of course" she nodded "take care of yourself"
"will do" you joked "bye now"
"bye"
You stared at the colorless reflection looking back at you from the black screen,
Your smile had faded,
The feeling in your belly had mutated,
more bitter now, the warmth slowly dissipating against the cold breeze.
You should have been happy right?
You had gotten away with it,
both of you had,
Yes, the team thought Spencer had a girlfriend, but they had no idea it was you.
And you were able to convince Penelope not to come by your house.
Everything went perfectly,
so why did you feel like this?
like a puff had just caused the unsteady house of cards to fall to the ground.
You had everything you wanted,
you had him,
you had you, together.
this wasn't how it was supposed to be,
you should be feeling ecstatic,
happy,
on fucking cloud nine,
but it was as if you had to woken up from the dream, from the fable, and reality was starting to hit.
You had lied to her,
to Penelope,
one of your best friends, a person who knew everything about you, a person who'd seen you cry and laugh and puke more times than you'd like to admit.
You had to lie
Make up a bunch of things and lie to her face like it was normal, like nothing was wrong with that.
But so much was wrong with it,
And not only because it made you feel dirty, and shitty, no, but because she didn't deserve it.
She would never do it to you, you knew.
And still, you hadn't even hesitated before doing it to her.
And as much as you liked to think that it was necessary, and that it wasn't gonna be forever, you had no real guarantee that that was the truth
You had never really thought about it,
and apparently, all it took was a phone call for the pandora's box lid to fly off, and your mind was now flooding with doubts and fear, and second thoughts.
When were you gonna be able to tell people?
never, was the only answer you could think of,
You weren't allowed to date,
because of Hotch's rule,
And it's not like you could have told everyone but him, that seemed practically impossible.
So that was it, either one of you left the BAU or you would have to keep it a secret forever, continuing to lie every single day.
The thought of it terrified you,
And with it, millions more started clouding your mind.
__ __ __
"hello"
you had been crying
"hi" you smiled weakly from the couch
He threw his sachel on a chair and walked up to you immediately, bending to meet his lips with yours.
It felt good, too good.
"I've missed you" he sat next to you, a big smile on his face "I couldn't wait to get home" he confessed shily "I don't think anybody suspects anything though, so we're in the clear" he moved a lock of hair behind your ear, and his brows furrowed "what's wrong?"
You didn't know where to begin,
a tsunami of emotions was going off inside of you, and you had no idea how to get them out.
"Penelope called" you finally said
"ok" you could tell he was confused "that's good right?"
yes, Spencer, that's supposed to be good.
God, you felt like you were going crazy.
"I lied to her"
"what do you mean?"
"she said she wanted to come to my house, and I said I was sick"
"Oh" he breathed "that's-that's ok, I mean that's like a - white lie"
You could only look at him, tears threatening to spill out of your eyes.
"And you know, you could have gone back home, that would have b-"
"that's not the point Spencer" your voice broke " I lied to her, and- and I'm gonna have to keep doing it"
"what? no that's not true" he placed a hand on your thigh, trying to reassure you.
"We can't tell anyone Spence you know it"
"Well I mean we could tell her, just not Hotch"
"and how that gonna work?" you asked way too harshly.
"I'm sorry I just- there's a lot of things we haven't thought of"
"I know y/n I know" he stoaked your cheek "but we can work it out"
Oh, you so wanted to give in, to tell him that yes, maybe you could and that he was right, but you knew that wasn't the truth, as much as it pained you to say it, he was wrong.
"How?" you said "We're gonna get fired if Hotch finds out, and unless one of us wants to leave the team we're gonna have to keep it a secret," you explained with a weak voice "and I don't know-" you couldn't believe you were about to say it "I don't know if I can do it, Spencer"
It was like you had just punched him in the face,
his eyes went blank, as his smile disappeared.
"I'm sorry" you cried "I'm so sorry Spence this is all my fault I should have never come here, please- i'm so sorry" you reached for his hand.
"y/n-" he tried to talk but you interrupted him
"no, please don't try to change my mind" you begged "It's- It's not only Hotch, Spence" you confessed
"You're my friend," you said "before this, before everything you're my friend Spence, and- and you mean everything to me, y'know" you sighed "and if- if this doesn't work out I don't wanna lose you, I can't, I can't lose you, I don't think I could do it without you"
"And I know this is gonna mess things up for a bit but I hope we could still be friends because I need that Spence, I need you as I friend, and I'm scared that if we do this, like really do this, and learn we've made a mistake, then I'm gonna lose you forever, and I can't let that happen"
You hadn't noticed the tears fleeing your eyes, because your sight was fixated on him, his mouth slightly parted, his eyes still in shock.
"I-" he swallowed thickly, his eyes scanning your face "You're never gonna lose me y/n" he said "we can work this out"
"This can't be how this ends"
"I'm sorry" was all you could say
"Y/n the moment I met you, the moment you smiled and introduced yourself, I knew I wanted this, the first time I saw you laugh I thought I was gonna have a heart attack y/n, I-I- I spent the last four years of my life stealing glances at you, and planning things to do or say to make you happy." he breathed "you can't do this y/n, not now"
"I'm sorry" your lip was trembling
"please forgive me Spence but I think it's best if I go" you got up and quickly grabbed your purse just to dash to the door,
but he followed
"y/n" you turned, and he was just there, inches from you, just like that night at the bar "y/n, I lov-"
"no, don't" you covered his mouth, a sob creeping up your throat "please don't"
You let your hand fall, taking a step to be flush against him, your mouth ghosting his "this is for the best" you breathed, hopeless "I can't lose you Spence" you kissed him, fully, desperately, like it was the last time you were ever gonna do it, because, of course, it was "please understand"
you whispered,
and without looking back,
you were out of his apartment.

the benefits of getting stood up (pt2)
words: 2,429 ship: austin butler x reader summary: (part 1 was this request), part 2 is a request from @scrambled-eggs-y : maybe him stopping by the aquarium! Like a date after hours at the aquarium would be so cute!! notes: masterlist on my sidebar, thank you for all the requests everyone :) let me know if you’d like to be added to a general taglist warnings: none tag list: @killerqueenfan, @karamelcoveredolicity, @elizabethrosecresswell, @gigisworldsstuff
One of the things you’ve learned thanks to practice in online dating, you’ve stopped holding your breath for things. You’re attempting not to take anything too seriously, keeping things or people high up on a pedestal. When you start doing that? it’s only that much more disappointing when whatever you want doesn’t go your way. It’s just…easier not to get your hopes up, that way when something good happens you can be pleasantly surprised.
You meant what you said about deleting that app when Nick stood you up at that dive bar a few weeks ago, dragging and dropping that thing right into your trash. Not a big loss, right? It’s something you definitely needed to do. You also wouldn’t blame Austin if you exchanged numbers but then didn’t hear from him—part of you expected that he might have given you the wrong set of digits. Connections feel like they make so much more sense in the heat of the night, after a few drinks, in close proximity in a dingy bar. You don’t hold your breath.
Except Austin texts you and keeps up the momentum of messaging you back, carrying on conversations, asking questions and even exchanging pictures (PG, for now?)—Austin has a dalmatian named Fergus and you have plenty of sea creatures at your job to snap shots of and send along. The texting is nice, the few phone calls you’ve shared enjoyable and promising and the only reason you two haven’t settled on an actual date yet is because both of you are busy.
You feel like he has a valid excuse being a celebrity and all—even though the Elvis film is over, he’s got other obligations, events, parties, interviews that tie him up in ways he sometimes doesn’t expect. You though? While your classes do take a toll every so often, most of the time you get dragged into work to cover shifts when people call off unexpectedly.
You love the aquarium…you just kinda can’t stand some of the people who work there. Another drop in the bucket on how animals are just so much better than humans.
Rounding the corner out of the break room, you make sure you have your ID tag on (it was upside down this morning) and make your way to the jellyfish. There’s this display where you can touch the tops of them and give a little spiel to kids about how touching the top won’t sting you—though they have the same feeling against the pads of your fingers as if you were touching sandpaper, or a cat’s tongue.
“Don’t be mad,” You start, tucking your phone against your shoulder for a moment to roll up your sleeves past your elbows, “But I think I have to cancel tonight.”
“I’m not mad,” Austin assures, his tone warm and like honey against your eardrum, “But I’m thinkin’ I might have to change your contact name to ‘Nick’ in my phone if you’re gonna keep standin’ me up.”
And it’s a joke, you know that, smiling a little as you tip your head back towards the ceiling, “God, please don’t. Not even funny.”
Austin smirks and there’s the sound of traffic behind him, “Sorry, I know—besides, not like I haven’t had to rearrange things on us sometimes.”
“The universe hates us.”
A chuckle, “Definitely not workin’ in our favor lately. Maybe retrograde?”
“Tired of mercury in the microwave,” You joke, pausing against a railing in the aquarium that’s right near where you have to get back to work. You got a few minutes and this is one of your favorite spots. The railing is in front of this expansive glass pane that stretches from one floor to the next in the aquarium—big open water, blue light kissing skin, all matters of sea life swimming in a calm circle.
You take a deep breath.
“I got put on another late shift by someone who takes off pretty much every week,” You shake your head, “And I think I’m comin’ down with something.”
“You don’t take care of yourself,” Austin supplies but it’s not in a condescending way—you can hear the concern in his tone, and honestly? He’s kinda right. You’ve been running yourself into the ground and your body has finally had enough. You’re off this weekend though, you can get some sleep—recharge. Unfortunately that means you won’t exactly be up to any dates though, ugh.
Austin’s gonna lose interest before you even have a chance to show him how great you are.
“I know,” There’s a soft whine there that makes Austin chuckle, “Can’t I find someone else to do that for me?”
“Yeah, I think it’s called a day-spa.”
You crinkle your nose before glancing over at the jellyfish exhibit, “I gotta go talk to kids about jellies. But call me later?”
“You got one fun fact you can leave me with?”
Smiling a little, you purse your lips in thought before, “They have no brain and are 98% water.”
“Huh…just like Nick, right?”
You laugh earnestly and you can tell that was exactly Austin’s intention—can hear him smiling over the phone even though you can’t see him. There’s this ridiculous warmth that settles in your belly when you think about him, butterflies fluttering along your ribcage and sticking with you long after the sensation disappears. You like him—even if you haven’t had a chance to go on an official date. You just hope this doesn’t blow up in your face. With Austin it’s really difficult to do the whole ‘lowkey’ feeling thing and just accept whatever happens.
You guess that’s what it feels like when you’ve got something great to lose.
“See you,” Austin promises and you hum.
“Bye.” Hanging up the call, you take another deep breath and walk towards the jellyfish exhibit—definitely recharged to take on the next few hours.
--
You’re not here until close but it certainly feels like that when you started in the morning and now it’s well into the afternoon, almost night, and you’ve still got an hour left before you’re done. Running a hand through your hair, you finish up a small private tour and dip into the backroom again to get your cup of coffee that’s pretty much saving your life at this point.
Looking up, your boss Jerry is coming towards you with a ‘very important business’ face on. Okay, time to put your foot down—if he asks you to cover another shift, you just have to say no—
“Closing early tonight.”
You blink, “What?”
“I’m gonna have you close early—you’re done in an hour, right?”
You’re not following this train of thought but honestly that’s typical for Jerry. But you nod and take another sip of coffee. “Yeah, what’s going on?”
“Private event, had someone call in and rent out the entire aquarium for the night.” Raising your eyebrows, you let out a slow breath because that must have cost a pretty penny. Though who does that at the last minute? You’ve heard that this place has been used for special charity events, weddings, proms…but a private event with no details other than that?
You push aside asking too many questions—you get to go home early, that’s all that matters.
“Cool, okay.”
“We’ll start clearing guests out in about ten minutes, should be enough time for maintenance to clean and then I’ll get you the info on the private event. Just need you to let them in, give a small tour and call it a night. Apparently they’re bringing in anything they might need, just having security stick around tonight.”
“Don’t need to tell me twice.” You smile, happy enough to let in whoever’s personally responsible for making your night easier.
The breakdown happens just as Jerry entails—the aquarium closes, guests are ushered out, maintenance cleans the floors and wipes down as many surfaces as they can get their hands on in the time allotted, other workers clean up their respective areas, feed animals, and clock out. Grabbing the clipboard in the backroom that Jerry left behind with the private event’s info, you run your thumb along the papers attached and make your way to the front door where security is waiting.
“Okay…” You trail off as one of them opens the door for you, “Mr.—”
You blink at the name on the paper: Austin Butler
“Surprised?”
Your head snaps up to see Austin at the door and then almost do a double-take because, “What—what are you doing here?”
Austin licks his lips, taking a step into the aquarium. He’s dressed in a pair of black jeans with one hole in the knee, a soft white button down that has the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, a black pair of booties to complete the look. You feel entirely frumpy in your jeans and work polo, a little fish on the one collar, nametag and all.
“Figured rentin’ out the aquarium was the only way to get your attention.”
And you laugh because this is so…utterly ridiculous. You’re standing here with a clipboard as the doors to the aquarium close, and it takes you a minute to realize that Austin has a few bags with him that the security guards are going through and—this feels like whiplash.
“You…you rented out an aquarium.” You repeat because you’re not sure what else to say.
“We had a date right?” He asks, smiling down at you, “Told you I wasn’t gonna stand you up.”
Your cheeks splotch bright pink, “I think you’re probably let off the hook when I’m the one who had to cancel,” But you’re…so glad he’s here, utterly touched, almost afraid this is some sort of elaborate dream from taking a cat nap in the breakroom before your shift is over. “We could have…gone on a real date, like had food somewhere or…”
Austin chews on his lower lip, taking a step towards you as the guards disperse to their usual posts. He picks up the bags he carried in, “I brought soup cause you said you weren’t feelin’ well. Some wine,” He shrugs, “And I figured what better place to have our first date in than one that you talk a lot about.”
Smiling softly, you set aside the stupid clipboard because you clearly don’t need that. Despite how many times you have to pick up shifts you didn’t ask for; you do love this place—it’s one of the reasons you’re studying to become a marine biologist anyways. It’s important to you.
Your hand reaches out to gently touch his chest, playing with one of the buttons on his shirt, “You just want a free tour.” You tease.
“I wouldn’t say no to that,” Austin grins, motioning to lead the way.
You so badly want to kiss him right now that it’s overwhelming but…you settle for pushing yourself up on your toes and planting your lips on his cheekbone. Short and sweet, to thank him, and he doesn’t seem to mind.
You guide him towards your favorite part of the aquarium and unpin your nametag to put into your pocket because it feels slightly ridiculous wearing it. There’s a spiral walkway that leads down to the lower level and underneath one of the awnings of the upper floor is a cylinder glass room. Taking a short breath, you walk through, looking over your shoulder at Austin. This is what you want to see—the look on his face.
He's tipping his head to look at the ceiling, the surrounding of water around them, the soft cyan blue waves playing through his hair and against his cheeks. It has to be one of the most beautiful things you’ve seen, a darker blue to his eyes as they eventually land on you. You gesture a bit with your arms out,
“This is my favorite spot.”
Austin hums, walking toward a bench in the center of the cylinder. “I can see why.” He sets down the bags in his hands, sticking them into his pockets. There’s a moment of comfortable silence, fish swimming by, sharks gliding overhead.
“Sharks have electroreceptor organs which means they have uh...cells that detect electric fields.” You have no idea why it’s a kneejerk reaction for you to share this, “They use them to locate prey.”
Austin hums, “Like sonar?”
You crinkle your nose, “Kind of?” Sitting on bench, you begin to unpack the bag, taking out the bottle of wine and the thermos filled with soup, “You really didn’t have to do all this.”
“I know,” He sits down next to you, shrugging his one shoulder, “Don’t thank me too much yet, it’s canned soup thanks to the last-minute decision.”
A soft laugh leaves your lips and you shake your head—doesn’t matter to you, it’s the thought that counts. You hand him the bottle of wine and he pops the cork, pouring a small amount into the plastic cups he brought; the blue water gives the red wine an almost royal purple shade.
“I mean,” You clarify, motioning around them to the aquarium, “I’m impressed but you don’t have to impress me.” And you hope that’s not coming across as ungrateful or that you’re not enjoying this, it’s just…you like Austin, you’ll take him any way that he’s willing to offer.
You can tell, as he looks at you, taking a sip of wine…that your comment is not something he’s considered. Maybe that’s a norm for him, thinking he has to go above and beyond, but you’d enjoy whatever first date as long as it was with him. Even it was something as mundane as take-out and a movie on your couch.
“Or I mean—at least rent out a movie theater next time, or maybe an amusement park?” You grin, teasing, nudging his foot with your own. “This is so minor league.”
Austin laughs, leaning his leg into yours until your ankles are pressed together. “Noted.”
You take a sip of wine and Austin opens up the thermos of soup, steam escaping, and your stomach rumbles at the thought—you can’t remember the last time you’ve eaten. Austin’s right—you need to take care of yourself.
Leaning forward, you press your lips to his, hoping you’re not overstepping. He inches closer, cupping your cheek with his hand, his thumb working along your cheekbone.
Though you suppose, with thoughtful dates like these? You might not have to take care of yourself all the time. Admittedly, it’s nice having someone look after you for a change.
--
Hope you guys enjoyed :) I do not picture writing anything else for this universe, but part two was definitely fun! Can never turn down a good aquarium date!

Idia Shroud (VC ghost!Reader x Online Friend!Idia)
genre: horror
note: just…bad use of gaming lingo, might rewrite
summary: Idia has this unprecedented confidence behind the screen, with fans and friends at his fingers. However, one casual online chat broke his confidence as he say something he can’t take back.
series index
Tumblr media
“Hah, that was basically a speedrun!”
Idia was right in his element, breezing through his game while raking in the rewards. He was worried about the final boss encounter since he was left with a lot of newcomers but he should have known that he had nothing to worry about. Not since he met you, an online chat friend.
0therw0rld: awesome job! :)
Gloomurai: lol it was srsly way too easy
He met you in a random server chat while he had to look for a replacement member for a joint event but you pulled your weight and gained Idia’s respect.
Just a sliver, he claims.
0therw0rld: u gonna keep going?
He watched the chat and pondered on the question. He didn’t need to but he thought he might as well grind for a while.
Gloomurai: prob yea
0therw0rld: cool I’ll stay too
The blue-flamed gamer didn’t think too much of it. Since adding you to his friend list, he noticed that you never seem to be the overbearing type so he kept you around. Unlike some gamers he met over the years, you weren’t the type to turn your mic on or request anything too crazy to trade which he appreciated. You’re always the first to send congratulatory messages and are open to sudden grinding sessions with him. He was comfortable with you. You were chill, he thought.
Until today.
0therw0rld: hey… we’re friends right? :)
This surprised Idia. He wasn’t the type to go out of his way to engage with others for the purpose of making friends, he was no normie. But, he felt slightly bad if he were to reply anything other than yes, after all you two have been through together.
Gloomurai: yea i guess?
He replied, and you instantly wrote back.
0therw0rld: that’s great. That makes me happy :)
Idia was started to get goosebumps over this 180 change in your online tone. You were chattier than usual and for some unknown reason, Idia keeps getting chills running down his spine. Like warning bells were ringing in his subconscious, alerting him of something. It’s probably his social anxiety, he figured.
There was activity in the chat box. You started typing again.
0therw0rld: we should hang out :)
Gloomurai: like in chat?
0therw0rld: no. irl :)
Idia let out a high-pitched yelp, not expecting a request like that! Idia felt utterly betrayed! He thought you were above that socializing nonsense. The gaming community had an unspoken rule of not meeting in real life and you just broke it so nonchalantly.
0therw0rld: can’t we? :(
Idia was in a bind. He somewhat resented you for suddenly pulling this on him but you never asked for anything until now. If he declines, he worries that he might end up losing a valuable gaming companion and he’ll be stuck with new gamers with poor stats again.
Then, Idia remembers. You wouldn't know where he lives, he never mentioned his general location and he could always change the subject or pretend to have something come up. You’ll never know, right? It’s perfect. Ah, the beauty of virtual chat and its advantages, for Idia at least.
Gloomurai: yea sure!
0therw0rld: really? :)
Gloomurai: sure np
He’s a genius, Idia mentally praised himself to the point he got distracted basking in his quick-thinking that he hadn't noticed you were still typing until the sound of the ping echoed from his computer. He looked at the message and froze.
0therw0rld: great I’ll come now :)
Wait. What?
Gloomurai: u wanna come now?
0therw0rld: yea:)
0therw0rld: u live alone, right? :)
Idia felt the blood in his veins chill. On the chat screen, under your message, he saw a link with an address pinned, the address to his location. There it was, to the letter and even the exact number of his home.
You shouldn’t know that. No one should know that.
Idia hastily brought up a screen and checked his settings and programs. The protection systems and installments he placed before should have prevented anyone from figuring his IP address or GPS location.
Yet, you knew, seemingly proud with that damned smiley face of yours.
0therw0rld: I’ll be there soon :)
The smile that usually accompanies your messages is getting to Idia. It’s not cute anymore and instead he feels a growing sense of dread at that seemingly innocuous symbol, the uncomfortable confidence in your messages. The short but clear words conveyed your intent like you were watching him, taunting him,
Warning him.
Idia hastily closed the chat box, exited the game without a glance or worry about saving his progress and cleared any running programs associated with the game. He couldn’t look at the game right now. He didn’t want to even think about it because if he did, he would visualize the messages you left and your smiling signature.
This is all a dream, a really bad dream. You couldn't be coming here after impossibly finding him. All of the previous confidence Idia had just moments were drained out from him and he try to figure out what to do.
"I know! I'll leave and stay at a hotel." Idia thought, springing to his feet and rushing to get his keys. He grabbed the rest of his essentials and was about to reach for his front door when...
Knocking.
There were knocks coming from the other side of the door. At this late hour? When he wasn't expected a delivery or service.
No.
No.
No!
Idia flinched when a sound of a notification set off on his phone, the screen light up to grab his attention. It shouldn't be possible for any of this to happen. This can't be real, Idia begged to no one and anyone. With shaking hands, Idia forced himself to lift the phone to face the screen his way and at the top of his screen with a pair of dots and a curve to resemble a smile, a message.
0therw0rld: I'm here Idia :)
Knock, knock, knock

wow so in the championships of fucked up batshit posts written by rhi✨, i do think this takes the title but i am really concerned that this might be the case... so,, hear me out
s2 = possibly clue? like, for real???? like alternative EP1 ENDINGS/SCENES???
Tumblr media
so laure @theeminentlyimpractical and i had basically noticed at the same time that crowley's sideburns drastically change clip to clip, promo to promo, throughout the stuff we have of s2 so far, and this led us to have the, i guess, fairly insignificant theory that there is a falling out and a timeskip. now obvs this theory is quite old, very much in its infancy, and probably very inaccurate, but like 2500 people have at least seen it and we have reputations to maintain so we looked into it further
now pretty much ALL content released to us is either ep1 or ep2, or minisodes, or maybe the odd photo (e.g. i think the aziraphale/clipboard one is firmly ep5). but most stuff we have tbh can almost be chronologically traced and plotted. well - all except this:
the scene where crowley finds out about the naked man friend? short sideburns:
Tumblr media
in the shop, finding out that it's gabriel?
Tumblr media
long sideburns.
(not to mention that crowley's glasses change between ep1 and ep2 somewhere but that's a different story)
now i know that this could be an error with make up, or additional photography etc blah blah blah but one appears to be forgetting that this is amazon, and id put my money on every single person on that set wanting s2 to be nothing short of loophole free, continuity error-less perfection *😘👌*
so my Occam's razor is there is something we are missing between these two scenes in particular, or one of the scenes is not as it seems. from what we have worked out (and save this post because ill hopefully link in a sideburn timeline once laure and i have got our shit together and are operating on the same timezone again) most of ep1 and ep2 plot seems to feature crowley with short sideburns and predominantly the silver (not grey) sunglasses
whilst we have spotted a couple of confusing possible exceptions to this (example is below), it feels like overall that's basically right. bearing in mind that stuff that might say it's an official promo from e.g. ep4 may actually refer to events in ep2 --- there is nothing to say that the story has to be told in chronological, linear order!!!
so yeah overall; everything with crowley, present day, for ep1/2 is shortburns. now an interesting tidbit ive found from accounts of the nycc screening (and speaking to lovely people who gave me more info, not sure if they want to be named!!!) is that the screening
did not show an ending for episode 1.
that it basically ran straight through to the job minisode cold open, and then into the ep2 opening credits. for clarification, there was no ending credit for ep1, and apparently nothing to show that there was an end (e.g. no big gutsy 'well then... welcome to the end times' scene) ***and this is where i need input from sdcc people!!!
so apparently (and this may need further input), the last scene that took place before the job minisode is crowley returning to help with the miracle on gabriel to hide him... now im not sure if this is the same scene as the "I'm back"/apology dance scene (which btw we think is a shortburn/silver glasses scene, which is even weirder) but if someone could let me know that would be great ✨EDIT: CONFIRMED✨
👀 at sdcc viewers that only saw ep1 - WHERE DID IT END???
so in summary: the first sideburn loophole we have is the "ah gabriel!!" scene. obvs people have seen it so it's not a flashback, but i think potentially there will be additional scenes added to ep1 + an official ending upon the full release... or potentially scenes are replaced altogether to prevent spoilers from the screening? hmmm
does this remind anyone of clue lmaooooo wink wink
second, this is also an issue: so the first screenshot im pretty sure is late ep2 after aziraphale is talking to a rug salesman...? but features les longburns and possibly grey glasses:
Tumblr media
but then this ep3 interaction with muriel? them burns are definitely short, which could obvs mean it is posed as a flashback, but those are DEFINITELY crowley's new grey glasses?
Tumblr media
so yeah I'll be honest I'm not sure how far ill swing with this but ill keep updating with more info and link to the timeline etc etc, but yeah i think someone might have been writing a love letter to clue rather than writing s2 hahaha✨✨✨
but all nycc screening viewers pls come scream at me about this!!! and sdcc please tell us where ep1 ended??????

My Dear Gangster Oppa ep 3 let's gooo!
- Funny how none of Guy's other internet friends are sus in Wahl's eyes. Just the hot guy. Funny.
- Listen I know this ain't about them but the vibe between Pai and Muffin is immaculate. Fluffy femme getting bossed around by a bike dyke and batting her eyes about it? Six seasons and a movie please.
- Even Tom has caught on that Tew likes Guy. They are both so pathetic, I love it.
- Tew got to do a rescue! What a good day for him. And once again Guy isn't content to just swoon about it, he's gotta ask the tough questions like "why did those dudes seem scared of you?" What a good day for me.
- Y'all who said Tul is the best character were so right.
- I would clown on Tew for this but if I'd gotten cornered into telling a giant lie my first instinct would also be "okay how can I adjust my whole life to make this true before anyone finds out"
- Oh my god if the "buy an entire restaurant to look legit for a cute boy" scheme sparks a mob world paranoia spiral I'm going to be SO happy
- Oh my god if this is going to be a problem boyfriend for Tul I'm going to be SO HAPPY
- Kenji is so creepy and gross. Not even in a fun way.
- Okay so I wasn't exactly sure about the nuances of Wahl's departure before, but now it's clear. He stuck by Guy and refused to leave (and rejected a call from Nami? Caller ID wasn't translated) until the rest of the friends showed up and it wasn't just Hot Dude there. Then it's suddenly very important that he go watch Nami's presentation. I hope Nami dumps him.
- Every time Wahl looks perturbed at the idea that he's no longer the center of Guy's universe, an hour is added to my life.
- Okay, there's some poetry in the fact that Tew is wearing this candy-shop polo shirt because he almost got stabbed and then beat a guy half to death.
- I said to a friend this week that even though this show is chock full of tropes, there's an earnest air to them, like they're reinventing the tropes from first principles. This lip wipe is a great example. The foiled attempt coming first makes it feel oddly fresh. So much of why I'm enjoying this show comes down to that kind of detail.
- I guess this Boss kid is the spy sent by Kenji's people? but I can still ship him and Tul.
- IS he the spy? He's being way too weird to be a good one. Whatever, I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy. The way Tul's looking at him is exquisite. Honestly he needs someone bossy and competent to take a little something off his shoulders.
- I'm in love with Tul actually. That is all.
- Mob guys: notoriously can't endure one single day of silence from their beloved without spiraling. Yes this is a Tang Yi callout.
- TEW. TEW MY BESTIE, MY DEAR DUMBASS CHILD. I wasn't gonna say anything about you buying an entire restaurant to cover your identity for your crush, but then you gave him a business card with your apparently very googleable name? SON. You're so dumb. I love you, never change.
I'm glad the mob identity is coming out now, I hope he doesn't somehow manage to cover it up in the cliffhanger continuation. I also hope whatever Boss is there for, he ends up kissing Tul about it.

basketball star PT 7
Upon arriving at Julie's place, the atmosphere shifted to one of coziness and relaxation. The girls changed into comfortable clothes, and Y/N, being the nurturing older sister, helped Elena into her pajamas. With a watchful eye, she made sure Elena dutifully brushed her teeth before they all settled into the living room.
Elena, bubbling with excitement, couldn't contain her fangirling over the prospect of her big sister having a coffee date with a Hollywood superstar. "Y/N, this is like a dream! Rachel Zegler is so cool! You've got to tell me everything after the date!"
Julie, always ready for some playful banter, joined forces with Elena in teasing Y/N. "Oh, absolutely! We need all the juicy details. Don't leave anything out, Y/N. We're your personal paparazzi now."
Y/N, rolling her eyes but smiling, shot back, "You two are insufferable. Can't a girl go on a date without her own fan club?"
As they settled into the evening, Y/N's phone buzzed frequently with messages from Rachel. In the midst of the conversation, Y/N couldn't help but share the ongoing teasing with the actress. "Just so you know, my little sister and Julie are teaming up to tease me mercilessly. Brace yourself for the interrogation after the date."
Rachel's reply came swiftly, "I think it's cute. Besides, I'm looking forward to our coffee date. Who knows, maybe it'll be the start of something special."
As the text exchanges became more flirtatious, Y/N found herself smiling at the screen. Julie, still in cahoots with Elena, chimed in, "What's the latest, Y/N? Any lovey-dovey messages from Hollywood land?"
Y/N playfully glared at Julie, "You're enjoying this way too much, Jules."
Elena, grinning mischievously, added, "Come on, Y/N! We need the deets!"
The banter continued, and the living room echoed with laughter as Y/N navigated the playful teasing from her best friend and baby sister. Little did they know, the night was unfolding into a charming tale of unexpected connections, shared laughter, and the promise of a coffee date that might just lead to something more.
As the night progressed, bedtime approached for Elena, but the spirited young girl was not ready to surrender to slumber. Protesting with all the fervor an enthusiastic twelve-year-old could muster, she insisted, "I'm not tired, Y/N! I promise, I can stay up longer!"
Y/N, standing firm on her promise to their mom, tried to reason with Elena, "Seastar, we promised Mom to get you to bed at a decent hour. You don't want her to think I can't handle babysitting, right?"
Elena crossed her arms defiantly, "But I'm not a baby, Y/N! I can stay up late like you and Julie!"
In the midst of their playful argument, Y/N's phone chimed with the familiar tune of "Dance Again" by Selena Gomez, indicating an incoming call. Caught off guard, Y/N fumbled for her phone, accidentally letting it slip out of her hand in sheer shock.
Picking up the phone without checking the caller ID, Y/N stammered, "Hello? Who's this?"
The sweet and somewhat sleepy voice on the other end revealed the caller to be none other than Rachel Zegler. Y/N, stunned into silence, fumbled with her words, the unexpected call catching her completely off guard.
Rachel, sensing Y/N's flustered state, spoke with concern, "I hope it's not a bad time. Did I catch you at a bad moment?"
Y/N, finally finding her voice, exclaimed, "Oh, no! It's... it's totally okay that you called. I just didn't expect it."
As Y/N stumbled over her words, Rachel found her nervousness endearing. "You sound adorable when you're flustered," Rachel confessed, her voice warm and gentle.
In the background, Julie and Elena, having figured out the identity of the caller, couldn't resist joining in on the fun. Their teasing shouts and comments echoed through the room, and Rachel, on the other end, couldn't help but giggle at the playful banter.
Y/N, trying to maintain composure, shot a snarky comment back at her sister and best friend, "Alright, alright! You two can save the commentary for later. I'm on the phone with a Hollywood star here!"
Julie, signaling to Y/N that she would handle putting Elena to bed, mouthed a "thank you" to Y/N before heading off to manage the bedtime situation. In the background, Elena's protests against her best friend's intervention could be heard, adding a touch of chaos to the already lively scene.

Things I've Been Reading
Some of these are newer, some are older and I just barely read them. This is not EVERYTHING I've been reading and liking, obviously, but just a quick share!
(Also, if you know these authors are on Tumblr, but they're not tagged, please let me know, or let them know or something, so I can be friends with them and tag them!) (RECS below cut)
Iron Dad: Coming Home by JAWorley:
This is one I didn't try a few times because I didn't think I was interested in Peter hanging out with Toomes. However, I'm so glad I finally tried it, because it was fantastic, and a really different take on the whole Homecoming era. Published:2023-01-02Completed:2023-02-26Words:114889
Shake My Hand (And I'll Forgive You): by Frogdottir: @frogdottirwrites
Post NWH, Peter has been doing work for the Bugle, trying to stay afloat, and suddenly discovers Tony is alive. However, it seems like even before everyone had forgotten him, everyone close to Tony had been aware of it except him. He is hurt and angry and freaks out just a little bit. Incomplete, but 13 chapters so far, and so good! Published:2022-12-20Updated:2023-03-03Words:40572
Atlas Held by Grumperella: @grumperella
After an explosion brings down a building on top of them, Peter is the only thing between Tony, Natasha and certain death. Trapped under rubble together, well... nothing builds bonds like shared trauma. This one was super angsty, but so, so, good! Published:2023-01-07Completed:2023-01-08Words:8401
Distracted By a Dime by happyaspie: @yes-i-am-happyaspie
This is an older story, but I just barely read it, and she's been adding to the series lately. :) Peter Parker thinks he has everything figured out. Where he can eat, sleep and make a little bit of money. What he needs to do in order to continue attending Midtown and being Spider-Man. The Stark-Rogers family throws a wrench in his plans.
Tis the Damn Season (for a Christmas Miracle) by peacockgirl
Yes, peacockgirl really did write an AU of her own story (Long Story Short (It Was a Bad Time) Or AIs Don't Forget,) which is one of my favorites, and it's amazing, too. Highly recommend! Morgan just wants her big brother to come home for Christmas. Tony just wants to figure out why being around his daughter is sending him into a tailspin. And Peter just wants to survive his first Christmas alone without freezing to death in a graveyard. Luckily Morgan Stark is very, very stubborn. And immune to Strange's spell. Published:2023-01-31Completed:2023-02-27Words:23468
Oxygen and Gravity by for_the_night: @imyoursavinggrace (also, btw, people who have different tumblr names and ao3 names make me think I'm going senile. I have the hardest time remembering who is who sometimes!😂 )
A really cool Irondad soulmates AU (Sentinels and Guides) that I just re-read and loved again. It's not complete, but close. n a world where Senintels and Guides are dying out, Guide Tony Stark was very happy just living life without the responsibility of some Sentinel, but when one touch awakens a soul bond with a scrawny vigilante from Queens, Tony’s life changes forever. Published:2021-11-15Updated:2022-06-24Words:28459
A Big Security Issue by FotiBrit: @fotibrit
Short, cute, and amazing! When Peter lost his Stark Industries Staff ID, Tony handed the kid his own. That was never an issue, until Peter had to check in at the front desk. Published:2023-02-01Words:1828
Make it a Good One! by zippe
This one was kind of a unique fix-it/time travel that I found looking through the @irondad-creator-awards categories, so here's another plug for those! Tony and his mess of a fairy god spider who can’t seem to keep himself moving correctly along the timeline. Published:2022-05-08Completed:2022-07-08Words:31435
Where the Love Is by SpaceCowboysFromMars: @spacecowboysfrommars
This one was super different and interesting, and I kinda wish it could have continued. I've never seen the movie, so it was a new story for me. The Way Way Back AU where Peter is reluctantly dragged by May and her new asshole boyfriend, Quentin, to spend the summer in Cape Cod. Summer gets a whole lot more interesting when Peter makes friends with the eccentric manager of Water Wizz, who seems to take a liking to Peter in all his teenage-awkwardness glory. Published:2023-01-12Words:12948
In a Different Light by kingdomfaraway: @asyouleft
An amazing short one! Peter is taken, and Tony finally uses the phone Steve sent him. He needs help, even if it means making night with his former friends and teammates.
And a bonus:
home (is where my heart found exactly where I'm supposed to be) by ironfidus @ironfidus
Another one I found looking through the Irondad Creator Awards categories. So, so sweet and hit all the irondad feels I wanted on that particular day! Six thousand miles away from the city that never sleeps, across continents and on the other side of the North Pacific Ocean, Tony relearns the meaning of home—as redefined in his eyes by a stubborn teenager with a penchant for recklessness.

So excited to see your new blog up and running and that you added Cardfight! Vanguard to your fandom list. Id like to request for Brown Sugar Boba head cannons for the Cardfight! Vanguard Overdress men. Specifically Danji, Tohya, Raika, Zakusa, and Jinki. I'll likely send in a request for the Divinez characters at some point as well but wanted to make this my first request. Thank you lovely!!!
Tea Type: Brown Sugar Boba
Potential Triggers: N/A
Pairing: Danji/Reader, Tohya/Reader, Raika/Reader, Zakuza/Reader, Jinki/Reader
Length: 813
Summary: N/A
A/N: Of course darling, hope you enjoy these! As always, thanks for your constant support, it means the world!
Danji:
Tumblr media
Such a sweetheart
He’s really respectful- checks before tickling you every time, via body language or verbally depending on the situation.
He’s really conscious about the loss of control that happens and he’s not huge about being on the receiving end except for those he really, really trust so he’s especially careful to never cross boundaries.
He’s teasy but in a very kind, playful way. Mainly teases his Lee about their reactions and how adorable they look.
Loves to go for the midsection, thinks squeezing their sides and hearing them squeal is the funniest thing.
Raspberries are one of his go-to methods, especially on the tummy but he will also go for someone’s neck, if he knows they’re weak there.
“Ha! Look at you squirm, yet I haven’t heard a single plea to stop yet. Could you get any cuter?”
“Let’s see how much you can take today!”
Tohya:
Tumblr media
Likes to use tickling as a playful punishment if someone annoys him.
Yu-yu is a constant target because he’s always muttering under his breath and being a brat.
He’s a bit meaner when teasing, he’s not afraid to fluster his Lee to the point they’re begging him to shut up.
Enjoys using tickling as a way to release sadistic urges, as long as his Lee is fine with it.
“Oh, you want me to shut up? Not stop tickling you? Careful, keep talking like that and you’ll have me thinking you like this~”
“Not my fault you’re so easily flustered. You make it so easy!”
Will chuckle along with you as you’re laughing, finds your laughter weakened attempts at shoving him off horribly endearing.
“Listen to that! Bad spot? You have no right looking cute even when you snort. Should be illegal honestly.”
Uses his old doctoral knowledge to teach you anatomy with a hands on demonstration.
Newer to being a Ler, but excels at it in a way that feels unfair.
Raika:
Tumblr media
He doesn’t even really tease!
His Lee just needs to look at him and the most they’ll get is a head tilt, smirk or raised eyebrow.
His confidence is what makes him so skilled. No hesitation when he drills into someone’s ribs.
Scoffs if his Lee has a particularly big reaction and may mutter something about “not even really trying”.
If he feels a bit more verbal that day, he’ll poke fun about the Lee’s sensitivity, and boast how much he’s affecting them
“This is all it takes to make you scream? How pitiful. You’re really in for it as my experience grows. How lucky I have you as my willing victim; I appreciate your sacrifice.”’
Zakusa:
Tumblr media
Zakusa is a wildcard. You never know what he’s plotting till it’s too late, and his techniques vary just as much.
He basically adapts to whatever his Lee is weak to; he’s known for how perceptive he is.
Also, he’s the one who knows every person’s worst spot-even if he’s never seen them tickled before. He’s really good at clocking someone watching a tickle fight from afar and seeing where their hands defend.
Depends on what the person’s comfy with/if they piss him off if he shares that information or not.
Though his style can change, his default is really gentle, almost featherlight.
Loves to trace along areas, and watch his Lee try to not giggle or react.
Gradually moves up to spidering and then will experiment more to find the best technique once they crack, under either his nimble fingers or his teasing.
Really teasy, in fact I’d say his mouth is more of a weapon than his hands when it comes to tickling.
Loves to commentate on his Lee’s reactions and then will snicker when they readjust.
“Embarrassed? Then why are you blushing? How amusing. Hiding your face now doesn’t help your case, you know. If you wanted me to tickle you more, all you had to do was ask, not expose more spots for me~”
Another one whose mouth is his greatest weapon.
Jinki:
Tumblr media
Probably the meanest out of these five.
He takes unabashed sadistic glee in messing with his Lee and making them as embarrassed as possible.
“Ahh, I see you’re quite sensitive here, hm? How unfortunate for you. Beg me to go somewhere else, why don’t you? Maybe I’ll listen if you beg well enough for me~”
He can be really mean, but he does have a soft side, once everything shakes out.
“Come now, let me see that beautiful smile darling. A small one? Else I’ll have to take matters into my own hands.”
He wiggles his fingers playfully, and gives time to flee.
That daker side is definitely still a part of him, especially if his partner enjoys it, but he feels a lot of guilt for exploiting their weakness when he was at his lowest and therefore needs a lot of reassurance.
Doesn’t stop him from being a menace though.
“Tell me you like this, or you’ll get nothing.”
