9-1-1 (mostly buddie), MCU, dabbled in Torchwood, Sherlock, HP, and Old Guard, oh and supernatural for a while too, though I don't have a lot of my supernatural and Torchwood moved to ao3, something I've been working on since like 2012 (there aren't that many more to move, I am just amazing at procrastinating)

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Overall, these are my highest: Unexpected Finds (MCU, irondad)- 5 206 If I Could Do It All Over, I'd Find You Sooner (MCU, stuckony)- 2 593 emergencies only (MCU, irondad)- 2 154 between wanting and needing (MCU, stuckony)- 2 087 abuse at your hands, broken at your feet (MCU, irondad)- 1 960 But since I'm mostly writing 9-1-1, I'm going to include my top two from there, cuz I can: I choose you, Pikachu (or the ways two idiots finally say you’re mine) - 1 595 sometimes an onion really is just an onion (and that’s all there is to it) - 1 302

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I try really hard to respond, but sometimes I get behind, and there are times when I'm low on spoons and I put them off, and that doesn't mean I don't love them all, seriously, people who comment are so generous and sweet, but it does mean that sometimes they will get a random reply from me two years later lol

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

honestly, not super sure, cuz I can't remember them all off the top of my head, but I guess the one I wrote for irondad, where peter was using hard drugs and it didn't end with a promise of things turning out good, hugs didn't fix things in that one

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

no idea? they are mostly all happy to some degree

8. Do you get hate on fics?

eh, not often, but sometimes, more in the mcu than other fandoms

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

yes, and mostly gay, many kinks, from vanilla to wtf are you even writing type things, but i do seem to lean toward bdsm dynamic in smut, daddy kink often, and a/b/o (tho i really love writing non-traditional dynamic, a lot of omega/omega and alpha/alpha)

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

yes, and probably sam wilson/harry potter, honestly, I really still adore that one, it worked, I swearm, harry was older and fucked up with ptsd, and sam was awesome, as usual

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

not that i know of? well, i mean, i've once found them posted on small fan sites serving other countries and tbh, it didn't bother me too much, like it wasn't great, but like, hey, life's too short and they obvs liked them, and they did give me credit, sorta

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

yeah, a handful over the years, maybe 5 on ao3? and i know i gave others permisson over the years, but they never linked back so idk

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

yeah, totally, done it a bunch and had fun

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

steve/tony, then stucky is a close second, like they are the true standbys, I'll always love them, but I have a armada of other ships that also serve me well

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

we don't talk about bruno, dude

16. What are your writing strengths?

description maybe, or writing emotional shit? and like with dialogue, I'm either a god of it or a pathetic feral creature that has never spoken aloud

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

depending on the day, the same as what is written in prior answer

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

honestly, i try not to do it anymore, cuz I don't like making it harder for readers in anyway to consume, so unless I can keep it short and clear enough that you can still gather what they are saying without knowing the language, then I leave it out. I will try hard to find other ways, and i'm not super into translations posted after the text, looks clunky, and not super into translations at the end, but yeah, to each their own

19. First fandom you wrote for?

dudes, i dont know when i ate last, no idea, like maybe some MASH or like Highlander in notebook as a kid? probably my first shared was interview with the vampire, resulting in much anxiety as a teen

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

I'm picking from more recent fics, and I kinda love this one atm: sometimes an onion really is just an onion (and that’s all there is to it)

Only Marvel (so far) and mostly just Irondad.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Emergency Contacts Flash gets a hold of Peter's phone at a party, and can only access the emergency contacts. Parker has a "Dad" listed in there, but Flash knows his dad died. As a joke, in the heat of the moment, he texts a ransom message to that contact. He didn't expect a very angry Iron Man to show up minutes later.

Cutting Remarks Peter Parker's field trip ends up being at Stark Industries, thanks to a little push from Pepper. Peter makes Tony promise to stay out of it, but Tony has never been great at keeping his distance. FRIDAY basically calls him a stalker. Kids are mean. Peter is self-sacrificing. You know, the usual.

Better Than I Was Rhodey makes it down to the Tower for a visit, and to meet the "intern" Tony has been so busy with, and is surprised by what he finds there.

Sick Day Shouldas Tony gets a call from Peter's school, asking him to pick Peter up because of a migraine, which turns out to be a result of his senses being haywire.

Outside Insights Since he had a head injury that prompted observation for 24 hours, Peter ends up having to shadow Tony as he attends to some SI business. It happens to be "Family Day," and lots of people are confused about the relationship between Mr. Stark and the kid he brought with him.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I try hard to respond to every comment. But sometimes I get woefully behind! :( (Like right now!)

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Do any of my fics have angsty endings? Not really... Maybe Near-Arctic Adventures would count with Rhodey's musings at the end, and looking at the series possibly ending in "Infinity War" happening.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Most of my fics have happy endings... I'm going to randomly pick Birthday Breakout.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not so far. A little constructive criticism here and there. :)

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Nope.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I have not. I don't usually read them either.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I'm aware of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I don't think so.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Not yet, though we've talked about it a bunch of times, haha. I've co-brainstormed a bunch, and written a few of those!

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

The platonic Peter Parker & Tony Stark one is probably my favorite, but I've liked lots of them in the past. :) Lois/Clark in Lois & Clark: the New Adventures of Superman, Edward/Bella, Jasper/Alice, Spock/Uhura, (that was cheating, wasn't it...)

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

I don't have any WIPs I don't think I'll finish, unless it's the AU of my soulmates AU that I started. I don't know if I'll ever post it, therefore I'll probably never finish it.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Grammar and spelling, attention to body language, fun dialogue.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Rambling about things that aren't that interesting, not great at cutting stuff out after I write it. (I'm crap at "killing my darlings.")

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I do some in Italian for Peter and Tony in Hardly Coincidence and the rest of the soulmate universe, but I usually switch to English and just indicate that they're speaking Italian for anything very long. (It has also inspired me to study Italian on Duolingo though, and I have a 225 day streak!)

19. First fandom you wrote for?

I tried writing a Pern fanfiction (Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders) at least 20 years ago. It wasn't good. I didn't make it past the first chapter, and didn't try again until I was almost 40...

20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

How am I supposed to answer that? If I was cheating I'd pick the whole Strands in the Rope series, but maybe Visiting Hours is my favorite standalone.

3. what fandoms do you write for? i've bounced around a lot of fandoms since i was like, 10, but since august 2022 i've been strictly writing for mcu spider-man (technically more leaning toward irondad, but. u know). with this in mind however, i have a couple 9-1-1 wips and am about one bad day away from writing big time rush fanfiction

6. what is your fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? oh god i don't have anything w/ a sad ending posted LOL i'm too much of a sucker for a happy ending. (i do have mcd in my drafts tho!!!)

maybe 15. There It Is Again, That Funny Feeling? It's more of a hopeful ending, but considering the context of the story entirely, it's pretty sad.

7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? every single fic in the series All's Fair in Love and Potatoes. this series is my happy place amongst all the death and despair on my account

8. do you get hate on fics? besides the hate i receive from sapoteylx? no

9. do you write smut i do! it'll never see the light of day but i do!

10. craziest crossover: i hate crossovers sorry guys. on my old ao3 tho i wrote a heathers au hamilton fic and that's probably the closest i'll ever get to one (unless we're counting r&r? since it's technically twd universe?) also this one time (i was 11. keep this in mind) i read a fic that was tagged jacob sartorius/bob duncan and i think about it daily

12. have you ever had a fic translated? NO but that would be so cool. i have some regular commenters that tend to comment in spanish and i'm always wondering if it would be easier for them if i had it translated but i only speak engish. idk fic translators are gods gift to writers i fear

14. all time favorite ship? every peter parker ship ever (excluding all the minor/adult ones). big sambucky and pepperony fan too tho

15. what's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will? i have this wip that's like, peter agrees to go undercover for a mission because they need info from some big bad guy and peter is obviously the least recognizable of the bunch, but he gets kidnapped and all that good stuff. idk if i'll ever get around to finish it, because it's like 9 planned chapters and that is SO ambitious for me.

also my cellist!peter au? i've been trying to write it but the words haven't come to me idk

16. what are your writing strengths? ooooo i think i'm good at realistic dialogue and character dynamics—i have spent hours of my life on fandomwiki looking at different character's quotes and watching videos of their interaction with other characters because that's something so important to me.

i think i'm good at balancing angst and humor too?? idk the walking dead really shaped my writing style because u can have a silly scene and then 2 seconds later someone is dead on the floor. hope to carry that vibe through everything i do.

17. what are your writing weaknesses? i am so bad at describing settings and character actions. i can always see the scene in my mind but on paper it turns into they are at a house. peter sits down in the chair, and is sad. and it gets to a point where i just give up on trying to fix it

18. thoughts on dialogue in another language? ough if i ever write dialogue in another language i'll be consulting someone who speaks said language (which is what i actually have done!!!! i have a fic coming out soon w a spanish title and i asked aster-argent for help:)). or doing the thing people do where they just put the text in italics and write ," he said in spanish or some shit.

idk for the most part i stay away from it (ignoring the throwaway, casada harley joke i make in my parkner series) because at the end of the day i am a white girl who learned how to count to 10 in spanish because of dora and took 3 years of german.

19. first fandom you wrote in? ok so. i was 11 and on quotev, writing a chatfic about the bands twenty one pilots, panic at the disco, my chemical romance, and fall out boy. the fic is still up and it makes me nauseous to think about

i think technically i had an ldshadowlady fic out on wattpad before that but it was a blatant ripoff of another fic so. i don't count it

20. favorite fic you've written? i think this answer changes every day, and will change when i get my next group of fics out, but as of right now—

i'll put down my roots when i'm dead i'm just so proud of it idk. first time i've ever really met a deadline and probably the most passionate i'd been about getting a fic out since r&r began? i just love the whole thing.

Is Close the Closest Star? this one is definitely a tie with the several other angst oneshots i put out around the same time, but idk something about this fic is so special to me. it's like 6 months old and i know my writing's improved since then, but i'll always go back and reread

okok last one sorry ur making me pick my favorite child. Unrotting Your Insides, Unrooting Your Limbs i am such a sucker for recovery fics sorry. i've written several fics about bulimia but this is my fav because it's just. so soft.

answering both of the recent tag games in one since im lazy (so scroll for the questions below the bingo)

I chose my baby Spider-Man/Peter Parkee, with a focus on the starker fandom!

1. How did you discover your fave?

spider-man movies -> video edits on insta/tiktok -> irondad fanfics on wattpad -> ao3 -> looking at starker in disgust -> becoming a part of the fandom

2. How long have you been a fan of your fave?

since homecoming! when it first came out but it took me a while to start interacting with the fandom

3. Do you write for your fave? (E.g. AU's, Drabbles, Fan Fics.)

sorta! i don't actively write, just kinda drabble sometimes and i mostly dont post that, plus helping others write, i do have drafts that have been in my docs for years though

4. Do you like what is canon about your fave?

i do but i feel bad for him! poor guy has nobody :((, but before endgame i was in love with canon.

5. Tell some of your headcanons of your fave.

•his spider abilities on top of the originals like purring, cant have peppermint, hibernates, etc

•his love of animals, always stopping on patrols to say hi to them or trying to keep the strays he finss

•being worthy of mjolnir and picking it up without knowing the significance

•that he worms his way into the hearts of everyone he meets

6. Do you draw for your fave? (E.g. Fan Art)

no i dont, but i love seeing others fan art obviously!

7. If your fave/s are portrayed by several actors, who are your fave portrayers?

basic, ik, but tommy.

8. Are you more into Books/ Comics/Films when it comes to your fave?

mostly the fanfics then anything, but the movies and comics are so entertaining.

this ones weird but when i went to new york i went out of my way to go to moma because of him mentioning it to tony

basic but the "When you can do the things that I can, but you don't, and then the bad things happen, they happen because of you." because even though its sad/semi unhealthy to put that pressure on yourself, i relate to it in a way and uphold myself to helping whenever i can.

i dont think so? maybe photos but that would have been a while ago

i think so, if we meant in a natural way lolol, i try to be social and i think id be able to joke with him

i like them, idk if theyd like me now that ive gone to the dark side lol

oops kinda did this already for another question but, "I am Responsible. I…Oh crap. My backpack’s gone." I try to be responsible but i am very clumsy and forgetful lol, and i do a lot of stupid shit

22. If you would feed your fave/s something, what would it be?

as big of a meal as i could possibly make, very carby, probably pasta, get some meat on those bones and feed the super apetite

23. How do you see yourself in any of your fave/s?

i see the optimism/ akwardness in myseld as well, we are semi-close in age so i think that contributes to it

24. Ever taken a break from your fave/s?

sorta, it was very short and it was mostly in between going from irondad to starker as well as small breaks i took from everything lol

25. If your fave/s were to have a crossover, who and which character would they have a crossover with?

well they did have one with stephen and the other spidermen but i think it would be cool to see him really interacting w the women of marvel, aka kate, yelena or natasha (also rip), pepper, captain marvel, america chavez, etc.

so i thought since im not really writing much lately, id put a big list of all my ideas with brief summaries and if you guys wanted to see any in particular i could try to write a small oneshot of it.

1. basically peter having a long conversating with tony about the struggles of having his enhancements and explaining how he cant even kill himself because of his healing (like the scene from avengers)

2. Endgame au- “Hey peter? Its Tony- We did it. We won, pete- we won. Please Peter” then when peter’s in a coma he listens to a voicemail left by him before he left for the field trip (saved on insta) at some point peter says “i just wanted to be like you”

3. V slow (almost) major character death- three quick gunshots and a thump- peter worrying about tony’s head wound.

4. peter and harley falling in love (3k words) in tumblr drafts for harley

5. tony breaking down in the middle of a fight

6. Stony soulmate au- sharing scars.

7. “I didn’t think you cared about me”

8. Peter dragged underwater

9. Steve reading bucky’s journal in civil war

10. peter tries to help tony in siberia but gets hypothermia way more than tony does. after like a week steve comes back and tony screams at him cause peters in a coma, maybe steve finds him in the medbay

11. Parkner last words soulmate au

12. peter gets infected with anthrax

13.steve and peter kidnapped thing- peter bring scared of tony cause they used his tech against him

14. parkner hanahaki but with recovery and peter coughing up the rest of the flowers= whump. basically peter loves harley, passes out cause he can’t breathe and nearly dies, tells harley, and has to spend a week throwing up the rest of the flowers and being so tired he can’t stand

15. tony faking his death and peter and steve getting mad when they find out he’s alive

16. rhodey tony falling in love+ going to warrrr

17. okay so tony maybe almost dying and peter crying about it?

18. peter gets kidnapped after an argument saying “i know- i know you’re mad but- p-please Mr stark- please help m-me, i’m sorry” cause he thinks tonys mad at him.

19. steve helping peter with harassers- drafts

20. tony whump being kidnapped and refusing to give info on spiderman and peter saves him with rhodey and gets shot but because of adrenaline they don’t realise until they’re outside and peter collapses

21. the scene where he gets shot from enola holmes but it’s irondad- peter has a bulletproof vest on and gets shot by a shotgun and tony thinks he’s dead cause he’s oncounscious from being thrown into a wall

22. okay so what about a situation where tony and peter are at a press event and peter gets shot. just imagine what tony would be saying as he catches him and slowly lowers him to the floor.“it’s okay, i gotcha. holy shit- you’re gunna be okay, kid. come on, eyes on me-“ keeping on talking until the medics get there, still not leaving the kids limp form. Peters eyes never leave him, glazed over but never closing.Of course, when he wakes up later, Tony will be a little teary eyed sat by his bed, probably making a joke about “god kid, you’re not supposed to outlive your old man” Peter not wanting to be alone when he dies

23. tony and peter on a mission and tony goes to find peter cause he’s not responding and he’s unconscious cause of poison- tetrodotoxin B

24. Peter put in a cage thing with bucky when hes triggered into being the winter soldier and being on comms with steve and the others.

25. 5 times tony and peter thought they lost each other and the one time they nearly did.

27. parkner voicemail with peter almost dying, end is him coming home. season 2 ep 3 of 911

32. Prompt 885: Stephen and Tony were together before Afghanistan. They hit a rough patch when Stephen has his accident and the Accords are proposed. The stress causes a huge fight where Tony tells Stephen to get out and never contact him again. Stephen is crushed and leaves for Kathmandu the next day, leaving only a voicemail saying goodbye and asking Tony to not blame himself. The general consensus is he committed suicide. CA:CW and DS happen, and Tony runs into a changed Stephen in Greenwich Village.

33. basically incredibles- steve’s taken by hydra and peter and tony are in a plane when hydra attacks them, tony’s telling them to abort and steve slowly realises he could lose his family, then it blows up and tony calls a suit to peter. peters got broken ribs and bruises because of moving around and tony sends out a signal to the team

34. peter nearly dies on a mission, tony’s yelling at him and he breaks down crying when he realises what could’ve happened

35. peter nearly gets kidnapped/ sold and he’s really shaken up about it he won’t leave harley or tony

36. peter and tony are kidnapped, peters conditioned and at one point the kidnapper gives him a truth serum and asks intimate questions/ he’s not conditioned and it’s either ask the questions or take the punishment-

37. bucky getting back from hydra and coping? steve feeling sad, finding out bucky can feel his arm and tried to rip it out, tony helping? the scene in the woods with the trigger words and steve being there really sad and shit- also thinking pierce was steve

38. peter flinching during an argument

39. bucky having to pretend to be winter again in a mission

40. Peter telling tony about skip

41. ya know the hypothetical about hydra training bucky to give people guns incase they need to ‘execute’ the soldier, and him giving steve a guy.

42. peter being trapped in the soul stone when he gets snapped, him being the only one there because of his mutation or something (his soul was too strong to be broken for the time so it had to be contained) plus dissociation when he gets back

43. peter and bucky kidnapped together, tony and steve both worried as hell and having to work together and bond to get them back

44. soulmate mind talking- peter getting into trouble/kidnapping? make collection for soulmates

45. peter and tony are running from kidnappers, peter gets caught in a bear trap. maybe include steve.

Winner Spotlight - Jen27ny

Today’s Winner Spotlight is Jen27ny who wrote the wonderful Happy Hogan Never Forgets A Face.

How did you get into Irondad? Honestly, I’m not sure. I wasn’t even a big Marvel fan until, like, a few weeks before Endgame got released. Sure, I watched the movies, even bullied some of my friends to go to the cinema with me to see one, and I had a discussion with my brother about Civil War, but it was more like… watching something that’s playing on TV because you kinda like it and there are no better alternatives. I think I might have stumbled over Irondad (fun fact: before Irondad, I wasn’t aware that there are fandoms that don’t focus on romantic relationships, which was quite a revelation for me) because of Tumblr and then I fell down that rabbit hole – I’m sure you’re familiar with what I’m talking about. Anyway, I got obsessed. Found out my former colleague was into Marvel, too. Went to watch Endgame with her. Got my fucking heart broken. And then I projected all those emotions onto fictional characters like any (in)sane person would do.

What’s your favourite Irondad scene? Probably the Infinity War scene when Peter reveals that he, in fact, did not go back to Earth but is on the spaceship with Tony. The chaotic energy is just perfect; from the talking over each other to Peter suggesting to throw the alien out into space with a pop culture reference and Tony being Done.

When did you start writing and what made you sit down and write that first story? If we’re talking about writing in general, then I didn’t even wait until I could write on my own but had my mum write down the stories I told her. I started writing fanfiction pretty much exactly 13 years ago, but for a different fandom. Writing my first Irondad (and Marvel) fic was a kneejerk reaction to watching Endgame. I had been playing around with the idea for a while, but I was too shy to really dive into a new fandom. Endgame gave me that kick I needed.

What do you like about writing most? Probably that it is a way to transfer something that has only existed in my head into the real world. And being able to make people rage-scream at me because of a plot twist or cliffhanger.

Which of your stories is your favourite and why? Ohana, which I poured my soul and heart into. I got the idea for the story shortly after I finished Happy Hogan Never Forgets A Face, and immediately felt this need to make it this manipulative narrative with subtle hints of what was going on that only the reader would understand, not the protagonist. And since it’s a HYDRA!Peter fic, I also wanted to take advantage of my German background and use it to turn it into something a little different. I didn’t get around to start writing it for months because I was a bit intimidated by what I wanted it to be and whether I could pull it off or not, and I think part of why I got around to work on it was because I signed up for the big bang and was on a schedule that put me under pressure to finish it. I spent months going over it and editing the smallest details, but I love how it turned out.

What’s your favourite trope to write? Found Family with all of them being little shits, but ultimately, they would die for each other; wouldn’t share their food, though, they can get their own tacos. (also great if they start off as an actual, estranged family and slowly work their way into trusting and caring for each other) (still unwilling to share their stuff, though) (but that moment when they do actually share their stuff because one of them is hurt? And they hide all the emotions behind sarcasm and jokes and snark?) (perfection)

What inspired the story Happy Hogan Never Forgets A Face? No clue. Even now that I think back, I can’t even say how that idea got into my head. I think I saw a GIF of Happy in the beginning of IM3 when they were celebrating New Years, and my brain was doing the math and suddenly went “huh, that would mean that Happy already knew Tony when Peter was born…. WAIT A MINUTE!”. It’s quite an anticlimactic story.

Can you tell us a little about the experience of writing it — did anything stand out or was there a particular person that helped more than others? Well, I have to give a shout-out to everyone who commented on that first chapter, asking for more, because I honestly had no intention of writing more than that one chapter, let alone turn it into a series. When I wrote it, I only had the first chapter planned out, nothing else, it was meant to be a giant FUCK YOU to Endgame, something to let my emotions reign free, and then I planned on it getting lost in the fic void and ultimately forgetting about it. It’s sav=fe to say that didn’t happen. So, I came up with more. And before I knew it, it turned into a series.

How did you feel to be a winner of the Awards last year? I felt very, very honoured. Rationally, I knew people liked that fic, I saw it through the kudos and the comments and all that. But there is a difference between seeing numbers and people going out of their way to nominate a fic and then so many people actually voting for it that I win. It felt crazy. Like, I was 70% sure it was a prank. So, once again: thank you so, so much to everyone who voted for my story! I really appreciate it and I’m still floored by it!

My Top 10 Ships of 2020

It's been a weird year but I've seen other people doing this. Plus this year I've been way more into gen fics (love a bit of found family especially in clone wars and marvel) than anything shippy. So I genuinely don't know what imma put on here aside from two ships for sure. Sorry this post is super long idk how to do the below the cut thing and I've had this app for 5 years...

10) Viktor Nikiforov and Yuuri Katsuki - Yuri!!! On Ice

It was a real toss up between this, supercorp, kanera and wolfstar cos they're all very integral ships to my fan heart but this son because of the Yuri on Ice fandom's rebirth this year. I've never stopped shipping this, never stopped reading fanfic of them for any extended period of time, they're still my most bookmarked ship on ao3 (although I think now star wars - all media types may have overtaken them for fandom). They were one of the first things I watched where the queer ship I loved became canon and I can't wait for the film (and hopefully someday a season 2). Heck I even made my mum watch Yuri on Ice with me so I think that says it all.

9) Edelgard Von Hresvelg and female Byleth - Fire Emblem: Three Houses

My first fire emblem game was fates when I was like 14 (and finally gay awake lol). I was so disappointed that I had to be with a guy character because the only female option was kinda creepy and also I wouldn't get the character of kana. So when three houses came out I was so happy because finally there were beautiful incredible female characters my female byleth could romance (I'm so sorry mlm you deserved so much more than you got). I got the game as soon as it came out (had to search a lot of shops let me tell you) and started on black eagles. I was actually kinda disappointed back in 2019. I didn't like the explore the monastery bit (still find it kinda tedious) and the battle mechanics weren't quite the same as fates (no pairing up?! Aka my main battle technique for protecting the weaker units). So I got like 20 hours in and put it down. Came back to it in lockdown and finally finished it! I'm so proud of myself I virtually never finish games. And I fully fell in love with the useless lesbian edelgard in the process. When I started back playing in 2020 I was like eh I wish I'd picked a different character to romance (like shes an emperor that's morally very shady) but then the romance stuff started with edelgard and I fell the heck in love.

8) Cory Matthews and Shawn Hunter (and Topanga Lawrence) - Boy Meets World

Disney+ was released in the UK this year and I finally got the opportunity to watch boy meets world in its best quality (aka not on YouTube). I watched it back when I was like 12 or 13 and it's such a nostalgic show for me. Watching it again I still absolutely adore it (and my bi ass was low-key crushing on Shawn especially in chick like me - I'm 18 btw and I got so scared for a sec but rider strong was 18 when chick like me came out so it's fine woah). And of course now I see the possibilities of the beautiful Cory and Shawn relationship like they were so bromance it was basically romance and throw in topanga it's the perfect ot3 (but I'm also fine with just Cory and Shawn or just Cory and Topanga). Read some good fanfic for them this year. My favourite was one about Shawn stealing makeup and stuff and exploring gender (need more fics like this I'm biiii).

7) Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes - Marvel Cinematic Universe

I rewatched all the MCU films this year too. And got really into Peter parker whump and irondad. Plus my eternal obsession with identity and relationship reveals of course led me from Spiderman identity reveals (and found family cuteness) to stucky coming out. Especially when it involves the internet and social media. Not my favourite ship but it's been significant to my year due to the sheer amount of marvel stuff I've read.

6) Satine Kryze and Obi Wan Kenobi - Star Wars

I rewatched clone wars in prep for season 7 and wow Satine's death was sad and sudden. She first appeared in S2 E13 I think and just the sheer sexual tension of their bickering. "The sarcasm of a soldier. The delusion of a dreamer." Just ugnnhhh my bi ass can't take much more of this. And Anakin just sipping his wine in the background grinning. And I fully believe korkie is a Kenobi.

5) Commander Cody and Obi Wan Kenobi - Star Wars

I am very much an Obi wan multishipper. I don't really have a favourite but I fully believe he was with satine and Quinlan in his life. I don't think be would've actually done anything with Cody because of the whole superior officer thing. And this probably isn't even my favourite Obi wan ship - that honour probably goes to quinobi or obitine. However the most popular ships in the fandom are codywan, quiobi and obikin. No offence to anyone who ships these they're just personally not to my taste, but I can't stand quiobi, and obikin I find only slightly more tolerable and I think that's just because there's so much obikin content so if I like the concept of a fic that happens to be obikin I'll read it. I'm just not a fan of the mentor/student relationships. So I generally favoured the codywan fics when there was shipping involved meaning I read a lot of them this year. Needed that nice fix it content post season 7.

4) Zuko and Katara - Avatar: the Last Airbender

Again I am a multishipper I have nothing against zukka it's cute. But I'm a zutara shipper first and foremost because when I first watched avatar I was like 13 and denying my gayness and gayness in general so I shipped the straight things and the straight things only. Most of these ships I stopped shipping - dramione, spuffy, some my little pony ones which we don't talk about. Zutara stayed. (I have nothing against any of the things I used to ship I just stopped shipping them so much/shipped new things more). I've continuously shipped zutara since I first watched avatar even if I didn't necessarily spend that much time on it it has always been here as one of my favourite ships. It has such good fanfic I swear including my favourite ever fanfic from any fandom - love thy enemy. Plus like the black games (reread this for the millionth time this year), a delicate subterfuge (which I read for the first time this year and damn it's so good) and so many more. With the avatar resurgence this year I haven't actually rewatched avatar aside from my normal random episode every now and then when I feel like it. But there's been a lot of avatar on my dash from people I follow getting into it and people I followed for avatar returning so naturally I returned to the fandom and read quite a lot of fanfic. I also read just a lot of avatar gen fics which were great at the whole found family thing I've been so obsessed with this year.

3) Catra and Adora - She Ra and the Princesses of Power

Catradora is canon! They kissed! What more is there to say. Arguably they should've been top but I never shipped them that much since I was always very much a multishipper when it came to she ra so yes I was very happy it became canon because we actually won for once but also I've never read much fanfic for them etc. But they are very much a dynamic I love and watching she ra all again in prep for season 5 I really enjoyed the build up of their relationship. The other two only go above because Buffy is my favourite show ever and damn there's some good fuffy fanfic and Aphra and Tolvan is both fresh in my mind and star wars owns me. Would love some catradora fic recs btw if anyone has them tho.

2) Buffy Summers and Faith Lehane - Buffy the Vampire Slayer

I didn't realise it was last year that I got super into them but according to my ao3 bookmarks it was lol. 2020 I swear it's lasted an eternity. I got into them about a month before lockdown (which feels like another lifetime). I've loved Buffy since I first watched it when I was 13. It's arguably still my favourite TV show. I've been through a lot of ships for Buffy - bangel to spuffy and now fuffy. I still think angel and her were a beautiful ship back in season 2 and especially in the angel episode I will remember you. But faith and Buffy had so much chemistry in season 3 - she would've been a fresh start for Buffy and the amount of fix it fics I read I swear. My favourite has to be one where they met in LA during Anne and how that changed everything feat Buffy's internal homophobia.

1) Cheili Lona Aphra and Magna Tolvan - Star Wars

I read Darth Vader (2015) and Doctor Aphra (2016) for the first time at the end of 2020 (got a comic subscription which has served me very well already I've nearly finished the star wars canon comics). Just to see canon queer ladies in star wars was so magical for me as a queer lady. I didn't think star wars would be so overt yet as to have a queer kiss in canon (even if it's in the comics) and especially not with the main character of arguably their main comic series. Now we just gotta hope that we'll get it in live action someday soon. They weren't the ship I consumed the most content of in 2020 but they were the highlight of my 2020 because star wars did that and I finally found out about it

Honourable mentions: Vivian and Elle - Legally Blonde, Candace and Vanessa - Phineas and Ferb, Stevie and Alex - Wizards of Waverly Place, Xander and Spike - Buffy the Vampire Slayer (I actually don't ship this but damn some authors are good - this was the ship that made me realise I don't need to like a ship if the author is good enough to write it well), Eli Vanto and Mitth'raw'nuruodo - Star Wars (started reading the books last year but finished this year and only started with fanfic this year), Villanelle and Eve - Killing Eve, Kanan and Hera - Star Wars, Barriss and Ahsoka - Star Wars, Remus and Sirius - Harry Potter, Kara and Lena - Supergirl (let's hope this becomes canon next year!) (Those last four are ones I've shipped forever some of my og ships but nothing particularly big has happened for me this year with them so)

I got Disney+ this year so rewatched a fair few things from my youth and though hey my obsession with that character may have been a little gay.

Hi! I really love your story if they knew all about you, and I think you’re an amazing writer! I really admire all the effort you’re putting in it. I recently read a story that is extremely similar to yours, the chapter when Peter gets stabbed and Tony has to stitch him up is basically the same. the name of the story is “a change in what we knew” if you want to check it up. your story is so original and complicated, it’s a shame that somebody is trying to copy your work. i hope you’ll sort it out :)

First of all, thank you so much for reading "If They Knew All About You" and your kind words. It's been really stunning to me with how much affection the story is being received, especially since it is the first one I wrote for the fandom.

Now on the subject of plagiarism

I hadn't heard about the story before, probably because while I still read a lot of IronDad stories, since I started writing my own Bio!Dad story, I rarely read other people's Bio!Dad anymore. (Though I'm sure that will change once I've completed my own.)

My first thought was that this is likely a story that used similar tropes as mine. So I went and checked it out and honestly went from a little irritated to throughly upset the further I read on.

And once I realized how much it riled me up, I got annoyed with myself. After all, this is fanfiction. Fandom is always a balancing act of fair use of someone else's copyrighted material. I didn't invent Tony and Peter or the MCU, or IronDad/Spiderson or Bio!Dad for that matter.

Nobody of us owns tropes and it's important as a fandom to remember that, because we all benefit from each other's creativity with the same characters and even the same settings a lot of the time.

Peter being Tony's biological son who gets kidnapped as an infant is not a trope I came up with. The first time I personally read it was Winterda's story Lost Boy which I'm sure most (if not everyone) who reads IronDad stories is familiar with.

However, that's not where the similarities of the story you mentioned and my own end. I didn't read the story, I only scrolled through it but what I found was the scene you pointed out, Tony stitching up Peter without anesthesia trying to distract him with a story and the connected panic attack when Tony takes Peter's hand and places it on his chest to pull him out of it. The flashback to when Peter was a baby and JARVIS tells Tony that his son is in distress and needs his attention, the argument between Pepper and Tony, when Tony is annoyed and angry asking Pepper if she thinks his reaction is inappropriate to losing his son. All with very similar wording to my own dialogue. Those all ticked me off a bit, but it's the part that Peter in this story is younger than Tony (and Peter) thinks he is, 13 not 15, which is the point where I closed the tab because I was properly upset.

Now, a day later (and after a few rounds of riling myself up and calming myself down again), I realize that the problem is not "stealing ideas". 10 people can use the same ideas and write 10 different stories and the story this person wrote is definitely not my story. This one is an 8 chapter seemingly abandoned take on the same ideas I used while mine is at 79 chapters, more than 420.000 words and 2 and a half years of work.

There's nothing I can do about other people using the same ideas I use and maybe this is a kid who is new to writing and wants to try this out and you know, good for them.

However, I want to use this opportunity to point out this:

Credit is important and goes a long way.

I personally credited Winterda and their story in my own because it was the inspiration for me to write my own take and because it's the right thing to do. It's not a bad thing to use someone else's idea and make it your own, but this is a community, so if you do that, be upfront about it.

There is no doubt in my mind that the person who wrote this story has read mine. There are too many clear similarities.

That's fine, just tell me about it! Hey, if my story made you want to write your own? I see that as an unlocked achievement. That's awesome. It's about lifting each other up and growing as a community.

The way this went, not so much. It has a vibe of doing it behind my back and maybe I'm just sensitive when it comes to this, but I just think it's common courtesy.

Thank you, @sikelyboo for pointing this out to me. I'm not sure if there is anything I can do to "sort this out", but I did want to address it.

1. why did you choose your url?

When I first started social media type stuff, I had just gotten a kitten named Pogo. She was the first cat I’d ever had who was all mine, not my family’s. Hence Pogokitten. Unfortunately Pogo passed away last year very unexpectedly (she was only 9) and I miss my kitty lots. Since then Pogokitten has just been one of the ways I remember her and it’s sort of stuck with me after 9 years.

2. any side-blogs? if you have them, name them and why you have them.

This is my side-blog, and I’ve got an art side blog @pogokittenart that I haven’t touched in a long while, probably at least 2 years now. This blog is for fic stuff, which is where most of my focus is anyway now, and the art one was for when I was doing art more often in college.

My main blog is @pogokitten2 but seriously, I almost never use it anymore and it’s mostly weeb stuff.

3. how long have you been on Tumblr?

Oh jeez I dunno, uh, maybe since 2011 or 2012? I made it back in high school.

4. do you have a queue tag?

No. I queue things once in the bluest of moons.

5. why did you start your blog in the first place?

I started this blog not too long after I started writing fic again in my senior year of college. I wanted a place to advertise my fics and interact with other authors. It actually started out exclusively for Chrobin (a ship from FE:A) and then I just sort of scooted over to Irondad and general writing memes.

6. why did you choose your icon/pfp?

I drew my Icon. It’s me, in my very cartoony style.

7. why did you choose your header?

It’s a screen shot from the anime “My Roommate is a Cat”. I just thought that particular scene was relatable, and well... cats.

No clue! If I had to guess I’d say either one of the links to STARWS or maybe the Friendly Neighborhood exchange fic I posted directly to tumblr.

I wanna say, maybe 10. Not sure.

I try really hard not to get into fights. I’m pretty chill and my job literally revolves around client relations and conflict management. I can’t even remember the last argument I had, but I doubt I won. I’m generally a doormat, especially face to face.

I don’t like them. There are better ways to get people involved in good causes aside from guilt. It’s not productive for either side in the long run.

16. do you like tag games?

They’re super fun, but I never have anyone to tag because by the time I get tagged, my handful other mutuals that would probably like to play have already been tagged, lol!

Yup.

1. How long have I been writing fanfic?

Since last September! I didn’t have power for almost a week after Hurricane Florence so I handwrote my first fic out of boredom....and now I’m here XD.

2. Who most influences your writing style?

Honestly, there’s no single person that’s influenced me; I’ve almost always been a reader, so I kinda use those different writing styles to help me form my own...if that makes sense.

3. Favorite type of scene to write?

COMFORT, ALL THE COMFORT!!!!! Angst is a close second, followed by light-hearted banter.

4. What trope is your favorite to write and/or read?

Omg, so many! I love platonic cuddling, it’s like my favorite thing ever. My other personal fave is the bullying trope because it has all of my favorite things combined into one trope: angst, protective!tony, and fluffy comfort <3, you can take that from my cold, dead hands.

5. What is one trope that you dislike?

I don’t think this is a trope, but I don’t read fics dealing with suicide. It’s not a trigger issue, but I don’t like sad endings like that. I have read fics dealing with suicide attempts, but I don’t really go out of my way to read them.

6. What AU do you wish to write but feel like you won’t manage?

I really don’t know, honestly, I mean I didn’t think I could manage the idea that’s now my wip, and I decided to write it anyway, so who knows XD

7. Do you outline or write as you go?

Both, I kiiiiiiinda outline, but I mostly write random ideas in my Notes App and then transfer that to Google Docs eventually...I’m so organized LOL

8. Past tense or present tense? Why?

Present tense! Idk how that came about; when I started writing, I instinctively just started writing in that tense, so that’s what I went with. I do feel like it flows easily and it makes writing easier for when I have to use past tense to only talk about something that happened in the past.

9. Do you prefer writing one-shots or multi-chapters? Why?

I like both, but I give the edge to one-shots. I like writing a story that begins and ends in one chapter and I feel more accomplished. But multi-chapters are great for expanding on an idea that I have, so both are great for their own reasons.

10. What is the kindest comment you have ever received on a fic? (Feel free to paraphrase or generalize!)

Bruh, this is gonna sound so fucking cheesy, but I mean this from the bottom of my heart: I love every single comment I get, from “I love it!” to “JLFAJOISDJFOIAJFIOSFJ”, I love them all!!!!!!! Seriously, I’m not joking, I love them all. There have been some peeps who say stuff like “You probably think I’m annoying for commenting on every single one of your fics.” I PROMISE, YOU’RE NOT ANNOYING YOU’RE AMAZING, YOU SERIOUSLY DON’T KNOW HOW MUCH I SQUEAL WHEN I SEE A COMMENT, OKAY????

11. What is the most gratifying aspect of writing fanfic for you?

I have met and become friends with so many people as a result of writing fanfic. I never imagined that I would be a part of this amazing community that is the Irondad fandom and GAWD I’M SO SOFT RIGHT NOW, plus, I love that when it comes to writing fanfic, I can write about aaaaaanything I want.....I like that power, mwahahaha.

Chapter 20 - Me and You

Peter slept peacefully. He woke up in the morning feeling rested and content.

“So, was an argument all you needed to get all the nightmare stuff out of your system?” Liz asked at breakfast.

“Uhhh, I don’t really think that’s how it works” Peter said.

“You did sleep better last night though, didn’t you? Something must have helped”

“Yeah...” Peter looked over at Flo, who was talking to Tony over by the fridge. “I- uh... I slept in my parents bed last night”

He could feel himself turning red. Liz blinked a bit.

“Oh” she said.

“You think I’m a big baby, don’t you?”

“Oh yes, definitely” she smiled at him. “Well, if it helps, there’s nothing wrong with that. I just can’t imagine crawling in with mine”

“Mm. I never usually have nightmares if I’m next to people”

“When did you realise that one?”

“...Some time after the accident. I used to be able to sleep better during the day, too. Without the nightmares” Peter shook his head. “So, what do you want to do today?”

“Relax. Let’s spend the day by the sea. Didn’t your parents say we’re here for sea air? Let’s make the most of it while we can”

Somehow, they managed to while a full day away on the beach. It was hot, and they were happy enough splashing about in the sea and then lounging about reading afterwards. They had a few little breaks to go and get ice creams, and then up to the chippy for lunch later on.

Tony joined them some time in the afternoon, and they had a mad game of tag (Tony wisely spurned Flo’s suggestion of Stuck In The Mud). While they were running about, Tony couldn’t help imagining having a little toddler tottering about with them, and Loki joining in and giving the little kid the upper hand in every game. It was a dream that was starting to feel like a reality already. Tony was happy. He caught hold of Peter and kissed his neck and tickled his tummy, making the boy squeak and laugh and wriggle. Tony loved hearing him laugh, seeing him smile. Seeing him happy. That was the way he should always be.

“Can you believe this our fifth night here?” Peter said, sitting cross-legged on the bed while Tony got ready for bed.

“It’s gone so quickly” Tony said. “It’ll be sad to go home”

“Yeah, it will. I like it here. I’m getting used to it. I think the salty taste on my lips is permanent now. I like being by the sea”

“Me too, kiddo” he paused, looking at Loki and sighing sadly. “Poor daddy. He loves the sea too, and he’s basically missed out on half the holiday”

“He’ll be better tomorrow. He’ll be up and about, you’ll see”

“I hope so” Tony said, climbing into bed and pulling Peter close, tucking the covers round them. “You wore yourself out today”

“It was a pretty active day” Peter said. “It was good though”

“You’ve been fighting sleep since about half five. Time to settle down now, pet”

“Ok” Peter nodded, cuddling close. “Goodnight, dad”

“Goodnight, son”

Peter was right, to an extent. When he and the girls got back to the house the next evening, they found Loki sat in the kitchen with Tony, nursing a mug of tea.

“Daddy! You’re up!”

Loki put his mug down so his drink wouldn’t spill when Peter bounded over and jumped into his lap.

“Are you getting better now?” Peter asked, hugging him tight.

“I think so” Loki said, giving Peter a hug and kissing his cheek. “I’m getting there”

“Good” Peter said. “I want you to come out with us”

“Not today, pet. Maybe tomorrow, if I’m up to it”

Peter pouted, but didn’t push him. Loki picked his mug back up, taking a drink.

“What did you get up to today?”

“We’ve just been messing about on the beach, mostly, and looking in the shops again” Peter said, omitting the fact they’d also been climbing on the rocks.

“Ah, how lovely. You’ve been swimming, haven’t you?”

“Well. Paddling” Peter said. “But the waves were pretty big, so we got wet”

“I thought as much: I could taste the salt on you, and I can smell it, too”

“Is that a good thing?”

“It’s not a bad thing” Loki said, tipping the boy off his lap. “Go and spend some time with your friends”

“We’ve been together all day!” Peter protested. “Can’t I stay with you for a bit?”

“I love you, darling, but you’re too energetic for me right now. Run along”

Peter looked at Tony for help. Tony shrugged.

“Better do as you’re told, pet”

Flo pushed a postcard at Peter, and another one at Liz.

“Can you write on these?” she asked.

“What do you want us to write?” Peter asked.

“Anything. Just anything” Flo said. “Maybe... Write it as though I’m not here, and you’re sending it to me. Or something. I don’t know”

Peter and Liz looked at each other, and shrugged.

“Have you got a pen?”

They both had a think, and then set to writing. Liz looked at the picture of seals on her postcard.

Dear Flo,

It’s a shame we didn’t get to see any seals, considering all the signs saying to look out for them! Maybe it’s the wrong time of year - or maybe we’re just unlucky! It’s been fun hanging out with you this week. I can see why Peter likes you.. and Loki and Tony. I think I’ll miss you when I go back home. We’ll have to stay in touch!

Peter looked at the picture of the seafront on his postcard.

Dear Flo,

Remember that text you sent me, promising salty kisses? Liar.

I’m joking; I don’t mind. Thanks for being here. It’s good being able to hang out with you in a completely different setting. I can’t believe that you’d never been to England before, when you grew up in so much money and went on holidays so often. Still, you’ve been now, so you can tick it off the list. Millie knows, but Macy’ll probably go mad when she finds out. You know what she’s like.

Flo looked at Liz and Peter, talking quietly beside her, and Tony, scrolling on his tablet on the armchair.

“I’m tired” she said. “Is it ok if I have an early night?”

Tony looked up. “Sure. You don’t have to ask”

“Thank you” she gave Peter and Liz a hug, and then got up.

“Goodnight, Flo”

“Night, Peter” she paused by Tony’s chair, and then hugged him too.

Tony hugged her back. “Goodnight, Flopsy. See you in the morning”

Flo knocked on the master bedroom door, and pushed it open. Loki was just in his towel, having only just gotten out of the bath.

“Oh, it’s you” he said, sitting down on the bed. “Everything ok?”

“I was wondering if you’d do something for me”

Loki gestured to the space beside him on the bed, and she sat down obediently.

“What have you got there?”

Flo showed him the postcard and pen in her hands. “I’ve always bought lots of postcards on holiday, ever since I was a tiny girl”

“I’m a bit of a one for postcards, too” Loki said. “Back when Tony and I first got together, and I was still living with my brother, he used to send me postcards every time he went away, even if he was only gone for one night. I’ve still got them all in a shoe box somewhere. I buy my own everywhere I go now, too”

“That’s so cute” she looked at her hands, and the postcard. “Ever since I was tiny, whenever I went on holiday with my dad, he’d always take one of my postcards and write on it, even though we were both there together. He always put how old I was at the time on them. I’ve got them all in a photo album, and I like looking through them, seeing how the way he talked changed through the years. I like looking at them when I’m sad, because then I can remember all those good moments. Do you understand?”

“I do” Loki said. “I’ve never met your father. Is he nice?”

Flo nodded. “He’s lovely. You might like him. I think Tony definitely would. He’s an architect, and he loves the Stark Industry stuff, even though it’s outside of his remit”

“What about your mother?”

Flo was quiet for a moment. “She doesn’t like me much”

“What? Now, I’m sure that’s not true” Loki said. “Everyone likes you. Why wouldn’t she?”

“I’m not like her. I think that’s always annoyed her a bit. Dad said we never really got time to bond. She went away when I was little”

“I see”

“No you don’t” Flo looked at him. “She got cancer, when I was small. Too small to remember. She went away and lived with her parents. She took my sister, but left me with dad. It took her a long time to fight it. She didn’t come home until I was nearly five, but we used to visit. I was different from her even back then. She blamed my dad”

“Different how?”

“Well. I know it sounds silly, but different in how I dress, and the things I like. She didn’t like it when I showed up in frilly dresses and pink. She was always trying to put me in dungarees and little jeans and stuff, but I never liked it. It still annoys her now that I don’t wear that kind of thing. She’s always been a tomboy, as long as I can remember, and definitely before. She likes that, she wants me to be the same. But I like dresses... She doesn’t like my personality either”

“What’s not to like? You’re a lovely girl. And you certainly know how to keep people in order”

“I don’t think so” Flo said. “She says I’m too polite and timid. I think she always wanted feisty kids”

“What’s your sister like?”

“Well, she’s like my mothers mini-me. She’s older, she’s nearly thirty, so she doesn’t live with us anymore. I don’t see her very often, but we Skype. But she’s definitely way more like mother. I think she was my mothers vision, her dream child, and then I was... me”

Loki put an arm round her shoulders.

“I love my sister, but it’s annoying sometimes, because she can do no wrong, and I can do no right”

“Believe me, Flo, I know exactly what it’s like to live in someone’s shadow. Just count yourself lucky you’re not closer in age. My brother and I were constantly compared. In that mans eyes, I can still do no right. You learn not to care. Or at least, you learn not to care so much. You can’t really change what you like, and you can only change yourself to a certain extent. If I were you, I wouldn’t bother. Your father loves you, and sometimes one parent is enough”

“Are you and your mother close?”

“Well, we were. A long time ago. I haven’t seen her for years”

“Do you mind?”

“...Sometimes” he moved his arm and carefully took the postcard and pen from her. “Right, let’s see...”

Flo,

You’ve always been the best of the bunnies. It’s been good having you around. It’s been good seeing Peter with his friends. It’s endearing. You’ll understand that if you ever have children in your life in the future.

Sorry I haven’t been around much, but my flare-ups always chose their moments (always the bad ones), and there’s not much I can do about it. I hope you’ve enjoyed your little trip anyway.

Tony watched Peter and Liz over the top of his tablet. Their heads were resting against each other, and they were holding hands. Peter had his eyes on the screen, but Liz seemed a little distracted. Quietly, he stood up and left the room.

Loki wasn’t very happy about being woken up.

“What?!” he snapped.

“I want to talk to you”

Loki scowled and sat up reluctantly, reaching for his Lucozade. “What is it?”

“I want to talk about Peter... And about Flo and Liz. And Malaki”

Loki lowered the bottle. “What about them?”

“Well... I’m not sure how to say it”

“Just spit it out, Tony: I’m too tired for your riddles”

Tony sat next to him, taking his hand. “Should we put a stop to it?”

Despite his fatigue, Loki knew what he was getting at straight away. He sighed heavily.

“Tony, you were a rich slut once too”

“Uhh, rude. I was a playboy”

“Same thing, isn’t it?”

Tony scowled, and nodded reluctantly. “Peter’s not like me. Look, I think him and Liz are getting close. I see the way she looks at him. So that might happen. But then there’s Flo, and we both know that little thing. And then there’s... Malaki”

“You really don’t like Malaki, do you?” Loki said, unable to help noticing how Tony had spat the boys name.

“No, but I can’t really stop them from being friends, can I?”

“What is it about him that’s so bad?”

“You haven’t met him properly, and you haven’t heard the things I have” Tony said. “Let’s just say, there’s a specific reason you make a kid board when you live a twenty minute drive away from their school”

“You don’t think he’s good enough for our baby, do you?”

Tony gave him a look, which confirmed his assumption. “Anyway, that’s like, nearly three people that Peter’s letting lift his shirt, and-”

“Tony, that kid is not ready for sex. Take it from me, the man of experience in frigidity. Plus, you’ve seen him with Flo: that girl’s not likely to so much as bite his neck, let alone anything else”

“What about Liz?”

“I don’t know! I barely know the girl”

“I’m just a little worried. What if someone gets hurt?”

“What if no one does? Look, it’s just kissing. Each person knows he’s kissing other people, and if they had a problem with it, they’d back out, or at least say something about it”

“I’m still not sure”

“Tony, he’s not doing any harm. He’s just - I don’t know, exploring. Just back off and leave him to it. If he needs us, he’ll make it known”

Tony sighed. “Maybe you’re right”

“Just turn a blind eye”

“I’ve got another concern”

“About?”

“Malaki”

“I see. What is it?”

“Peter doesn’t speak to him”

Loki paused. “What do you mean?”

“I mean, as in the selective mutism thing? He can talk to the bunnies a bit, and he can talk to Flo completely, and Liz, for whatever reason. But Malaki? He’s never spoken a word to him, and I know that for a fact. What does that tell you?”

“Tony” Loki sighed. “We both know his mutism doesn’t make sense. There was a time he couldn’t even talk to Happy and Pepper, but he’s always been able to talk to some of your Avenger friends”

“Nat and Bruce and Thor, and Clint. He’s not met Wanda yet...” Tony sighed. “Ok, so he can usually talk on the home front nowadays, and he’s better in most situations. It’s just school and parties really, isn’t it?”

“Mostly. He’s come a long way. Maybe it’s just the school thing”

“But he sees Malaki outside of school too, and-”

“Tony, what exactly is it that you want me to do?” Loki interrupted. “Peter doesn’t understand what makes him mute, so how are we supposed to? Just leave it. We can’t wrap him in cotton wool all the time”

“You’re talking about the kid who slept in our bed last night because he was scared of having another nightmare”

Loki gave him a look, looked at the wall, and then back to Tony. “Can I go back to sleep now?”

Tony sighed and gave him a quick kiss. “Sure”

Once Peter was fast asleep, Tony carefully lifted him up and took him to his own room. He tucked him in carefully, and left him to rest.

Peter awoke with a gasp, his heart thudding. Tears sprung to his eyes, and he rolled over to go to his dad for comfort, only to find him gone. He sat up quickly, and realised where he was. He took a few deep breaths, and slipped off the bed, heading for his parents room. He tripped over a pair of shoes someone had left on the landing, and landed heavily on his hands and knees. While he was still getting over the shock of the fall, there was a creaking sound, and he froze.

“Peter?”

It was just Tony, awoken by the thud, coming to check. Peter looked up at him, and started crying properly.

“I had a bad dream-!”

Tony sighed, going over to the boy and lifting him into his arms.

“Come here, chonk” he said, holding him tight and carrying him back to the master bedroom.

“I woke up and you weren’t there”

“Shh, sh, I know. I’m sorry, chick. I thought you’d be ok in your own bed once you were asleep”

He set him down on the bed and climbed in beside him. Peter cuddled close, and Tony rubbed his back until he’d stopped crying.

“There now” Tony said once he’d gone quiet. “You’re ok. I’ve got you”

“I’m sorry..”

“I told you you shouldn’t’ve left him” Loki mumbled, making them both jump a bit.

“You’re awake!” Tony said.

“Cleverly observed” Loki held an arm out to Peter. “Come here, chick”

Peter moved over and let Loki pull him close against his chest. Tony sighed, and cuddled up with them. Loki opened one eye to look at him. He wrinkled his nose as Tony kissed him on it.

“Love you”

Loki sighed, resting a hand on Tony’s arm. “Love you too”

After another full day, incorporating another train trip and another look round all the shops, Peter, Liz, and Flo sat on a wooden landing stage, watching the water bubble through the cracks of the wood as the waves receded into the ocean.

“I don’t want to go home” Peter said, breaking the silence.

“This week has gone so quickly” Liz said.

“Tony did say it was only going to be a little trip” Flo said. She sighed. “I don’t want to go home either”

“Can’t you convince your dad to extend the trip?” Flo tried.

Peter shook his head. “He has to get back: he’s got a big press conference in a few days”

“What time are we leaving tomorrow?”

“I’m not sure. I’ll ask dad later”

“We’ll arrive earlier” Flo said. “New York is five hours ahead of here. So maybe we won’t have to leave too early”

Peter looked out at the sea, watching a cargo ship in the distance making its way across the horizon. He always hated the last evening of a trip: it was always so melancholy. He jumped as someone suddenly had their hands over his eyes.

“Guess who?” A familiar voice said.

Peter wriggled away and twisted round to see. “Dad! You made it!”

Loki sat down, pulling the boy onto his lap. “I said I would”

“Where’s other dad?”

“Buying me an ice cream. He’ll be here in a minute”

Peter relaxed against Loki’s chest. “Do you know what time we’re leaving tomorrow?”

“Well, Tony said our flight isn’t until midday, but it’s a few hours drive to the airport, so probably around eight, half-eight”

“Ok, let me work this out” Peter said. “So, leave at eight, flight at twelve, nine hour flight...So we’ll get back at nine in the evening English time, so... four in the afternoon in New York time?”

Loki nodded. “Yes, that way we can drop you girls off at your respective residences before we go home”

“Can’t we leave later and have them stay the night at ours?”

Loki laughed slightly. “No, darling. You know what your dad’s like the first night back after a trip. Besides, I’m not one hundred per cent myself. It’s been a fight enough getting out here”

Peter sighed, resting his head back against Loki’s shoulder.

“That was a tragic little sound, chick”

“He doesn’t want to go home” Liz said, taking Peter’s hand. “None of us do”

“I take it you’ve enjoyed yourselves this week, then?” Tony said, appearing behind them.

“Oh yes, definitely” Flo said.

“Good” Tony said, squeezing in between her and Loki and handing Loki the Mr Whippy he held.

“Thanks, chick” Loki said, moving Peter a little so he could eat.

Peter peered up at him. “Two flakes?! No fair!”

“Hey, this is only my third ice cream of the week. I was expecting lots more, so I think I deserve two flakes as compensation”

Peter pouted, but nodded. “Yeah, ok, I’ll give you that”

“So, what happens tomorrow?” Liz said.

“Well, I want you to get the vast majority of your packing done tonight” Tony said. “That way we can get ready to go quickly in the morning. Get up, have breakfast, tidy and pack up the house, drive to the airport, get on the plane, probably sleep for most of the flight. Land, drop you girls off, go home, sleep. Or something like that”

“I want to stay” Flo said.

“I know, pet. I do too” Tony said. He noticed Liz. “Liz? What’s the matter?”

“I don’t want to go back. I’ll be going back to Oregon not long after we get back”

“I thought you were staying for ages!” Peter said.

“Well, we’ve been in New York for a while now. Mum texted me the other day saying we’ll be going back sooner than planned”

Despite himself, Peter’s eyes filled with tears.

“I don’t want you to go. Not now we’re friends”

“I’ll miss you too” Liz said. “We can stay in touch, though. I’ll make sure to give you my address, then we can write to each other too”

“Like those pen pals you see on Instagram?”

Liz smiled. “Definitely”

Flo, ever the organised one, finished packing first. She helped Liz finish, and then decided on an early night. Liz wasn’t ready to call it a night yet. She went downstairs first, where Tony was sorting out the kitchen while Loki sat on the unit drinking tea. They both looked up when she came into the kitchen.

“Hey Liz” Tony said. “You on your own?”

“Yeah, Flo’s gone to bed. She’s tired”

“Bless. Well, an early night is probably a good idea, even though we’re not leaving stupidly early, and we’ll have loads of time to sleep on the plane”

“I think she’s just ready to say goodbye to the holiday” Loki said.

“Where’s Peter?” Liz asked. “I thought he was down here”

“He’s in his room, pet” Tony said. “I think he’s feeling a bit sad. He might appreciate a bit of company”

Peter was packing halfheartedly, feeling very glum indeed. He managed to offer Liz a slight smile when she came into the room. She sat down shoulder-to-shoulder with him.

“How are you doing?”

“I’m sad”

“About leaving?”

Peter nodded. “And about you”

“You’ve still got Flo, and that boy. And those other girls. And probably a whole lot more besides” Liz said. “You’ll still have me, too. You’ve got my number, and I’ll write, like I said. All old-fashioned, like. We’ll see each other again some time”

“I hate it when good things end”

Liz put her arms round him, rubbing his arm firmly. Peter leant into her.

“I bet this isn’t what you expected when we bumped into each other on the street”

“No” Liz said. “It’s better”

Peter looked at her. Liz kissed him on the cheek. Peter stayed where he was. Liz slowly moved her hand, slipping it under his shirt and resting it on his tummy.

“Do these scars still hurt?”

“No. They’ve been healed for a while now...”

He could feel his face flushing. He liked the feel of her. He liked being close to her. She was looking into his eyes. They were close again. Very close. Peter’s heart was thudding. He knew this feeling. He knew what was going to happen. Liz kissed his cheek again, ever so gently. Peter put a hand on her arm, holding her tight, trying to calm his nerves. She kissed him again, just at the corner of his mouth. There was a pause, and she did it again. Peter let his eyes close. He wanted this. He could feel the heat of her, and he took a deep breath. This was it, finally. One more kiss to the corner of his mouth, and-

“Peter! Do you want a drink?”

Liz and Peter sprung apart at the voice, jumping when the door opened. Loki took one look at their flushed faces, and turned his head slightly, looking at them incredulously.

“Am I interrupting something?”

Liz and Peter shook their heads. Loki gave them a look which clearly said he didn’t believe them.

“Tea?” he said.

Peter nodded. “Sure...”

“Liz?”

Liz nodded. “Thanks...”

“Ok. Pop down in a minute or two”

He left, and Liz and Peter slowly looked at each other. They sighed and exchanged little sad smiles. It was the beach with Flo all over again. The moment had gone.

I actually have 435 followers now; IDK how that happened…

Alright. Here’s how this is going to work. Last time I did a prompt list, I got an overwhelming response (I wrote 22 fics), and I only had 100 followers back then. This time around, I’m instituting some rules to keep things running smoothly.

I’ll keep this event running for one week (Evening of Thursday 05 July through Evening of Thursday 12 July) OR until I receive 25 prompts (controlling for duplicates). At that point, my inbox will close again until I’ve written all of them. I plan to post them as I write them, so I’m not sure how many I’ll get done each day. My goal is to write at least one prompt a day, however, don’t get upset if things get a little delayed; my leg is in a cast and I am back working full time, so I got some shit going on.

**When you ask for a prompt, please copy and paste it into the ask** This saves me having to go back and look it up later. It also makes it way easier to search for the posts after they’re published.

There is no length guarantee. Some of these lend themselves to short drabbles, and others work as longer fics, so expect some variety there. In order to appeal to everyone’s various interests, I’ve tried to mark the prompts as to whether or not they’ll feature emeto. Per usual, most of the prompts are sickfic-, angst-, or h/c-based, but a few are comedic. I’ve bolded a few of the fanfic prompts I’m super ecstatic about, but no pressure. Choose whichever you like best. If there’s something else you’re desperate to see (especially if it’s for creedless assassins, since I didn’t put them on the list), feel free to send in an ask with your own prompt, though I reserve the right to say no thanks.

Science Bros

33 Tony and Bruce get drunk, and Tony’s a lot more used to it than poor Bruce (emeto)

35 The boys work out a serum to calm Bruce down after hulking out, and it ends up doing a number on his stomach (emeto)

36 The giant bag of weed mentioned in Avengers (2012) is actually a thing

Nat & Bruce

37 Nat’s injured on a mission and in a lot of pain, Bruce hovers (emeto)

38 Bruce calms down after hulking out on a mission, Nat watches out for him (emeto)

39 Nat sleeps over in Bruce’s room and wakes early with a fever. Cue some raised eyebrows when he starts looking for ibuprofen for homegirl while the rest of the team is eating breakfast

40 Bruce is hiding/avoiding everyone because he’s sick, and Nat just wants to check that he’s ok
