WTAF?! That Lestappen gif in comparison to how Charles and Carlos greeted each other has changed my perspective. These two are in love and are aware or they are at least aware of their crush on each other but have never acted on it. You can literally taste the UST from the screen. Charles blushing and Max’s grin after. And that wink from Charles and the eye sweep. FUUUUUCK!!! You are making me overly delusional like what was that?

Charting the Course of B&B : How It Began
For nobody's sake but mine, I have decided to chart out the progress of the B&B relationship through the seasons.
Seasons 1 to 3: Keyword - 'Trust'
The foundational seasons, where the ever simmering physical attraction kept smashing up against the wall of 'I just don't understand this guy/girl'. But more importantly, the seasons where both of them, much to their shock, find that their partnership bears immediate fruit. And that the walls they keep around everyone else somehow don't seem to hold up in front of each other.

The graph below charts their attraction and trust levels over the 3 seasons through pivotal points where their partnership either grew or retreated significantly. It's my opinion that fledgling romantic feelings were present during this phase, but neither of them were aware of it.

This where things start getting COMPLICATED. They start off rough, with Brennan having her walls up again after the deception of Booth's death. But when the last of the walls fall by the end of Con Man in the Meth Lab, the emotional enmeshment is cemented. The UST is also off the charts.

By the time this season ends, the trust between them has reached it's zenith. The attraction has never wavered, but this season is where the romantic feelings start to make their presence seriously felt. It's quite obvious that Dr. Wyatt was referring to Brennan when he posited that one of them was clearly aware of their feelings and struggled with it daily. Booth was deeper in denial even though he had brought Brennan completely into his life, his family and his history. Writing the story at Booth's bedside was Brennan's way of coping with the strength of her feelings which she didn't have the courage to examine or name. Perhaps she felt that putting a label to how she felt for Booth in a fictional world would exorcise the turmoil in the real world. Perhaps it was the only way she had to admit to herself.

some people are never going to understand lando picking his battles because they just think going aggressive and pushing to fight/defend is the only way to drive with skill. COTA showed that amazing improvement though McLaren have made, they're ust not there yet in race pace with Red Bull, at least in Max's hands. Lando keeping as close as he did, especially as he was managing in the last few laps while Max was pushing a bit more, is impressive tbh. Ironically picking his battles is also what has always marked Lewis out when he isn't in a car that could legitimately fight for a win, but so many people seem to miss that. It's such an important skill for a driver to have if they want to go for a championship run. Lando will fight when he knows that fight is on. Until then he's going to know who his competition is and drive accordingly.

Current Watchlist Game
I was tagged by @iamdarthbader, and honestly I took too long to get this done because I had the stupid idea of giffing things and that takes me forever. Here we go!

Love In The Air - I'm here for messy, toxic and epic romances. The show is insane and so giffable, it is just a ton of fun for me. I've also enjoyed a bunch of the background music, there are some real bangers in there.

Vice Versa - I've been enjoying this since the first episode, and it's been pretty solid if not great throughout. The visual design - sets, costuming, post-production - have been fantastic and the colour theming is so well done.

The Eclipse - An intriguing mystery with amazing production design and UST through the roof? This is shaping up to be an amazing show with really important messaging regarding non-comformity. Khaotung not playing a softboy is also new and interesting.

Unforgotten Night - Possibly the most unintentionally hilarious show I've seen in a while (or maybe casting Yoon after his history of crack was intentional). I have so much fun with the bizarre choices in this show, and I do not regret my decision to re-use the shitty tigger tattoo gif for this post.

About Youth - It's only 2 episodes so far, but I'm digging the vibe and style of the show. Got some great music, and I will not be taking questions about why I chose to show the second couple in the gif.

My Only 12% - I started this one a little late, but I've caught up now. Earth's ability to convincingly play a high schooler is criminal, and I'm a big fan of the potential for an uno reverse pining plot. Chomping at the bit for the timeskip already.

Takara-kun and Amagi-kun - This reminds me so much of the heart-rending high-school shonen-ai I've read for years. Sweet and simple, the actors are obviously a bit new to things, but they're doing an admirable job for newbies.

Triage - I will probably never stop rewatching Triage. The plot was so strong, I loved so many of the performances, the medical scenes were really top-tier (except the CPR, lol), and there was some really amazing camerawork that elevated the material.

Manner of Death - I have ascended to the role of Sammon simp. It definitely helps that Max and Tul are such strong actors, especially together. The murder and human trafficking show has become a comfort watch for me, please don't ask why.

Love Mechanics (2022) - I have loved this new version so much more than the original attempt. I'm really glad they got a redo and that Yin and War returned. War is just a really strong actor and Yin has come so far since the first time around.

Fish Upon the Sky - I actually love me some wacky comedy BLs, and while not the strongest, I have a lot of fun with this. I was brought back to it by watching the trailer for Pond and Phuwin's upcoming show.
Looking Forward To...
Never Let Me Go - Pond and Phuwin's upcoming show looks super angsty and dramatic. I dig it. Also, why do all the shows this year have mafia, lol?
Moonlight Chicken - I took way too long to watch 1000 Stars and Cupid's Last Wish, but I was so glad when I did. Earth and Mix work really well together, and I'm interested in seeing them in something a little less sweet and innocent this time around.

Lando has so much good momma potential like he is a natural caregiver with how much he appreciates his parents and his friends why isn't he a part of the adoption au parents like him finding a teeny tiny pup and refusing to part with him even though everyone (the press especially) keep saying that he is too young to be a mom and that he is ruining his life by taking the pup
Oohh! Lando adopting little Max? He just finds a tiny 6 month old who is so quiet and doesn't cry to be held to the orphanage staff. Just a poor baby who learned to be quiet and go unnoticed 🥺 lando gently picking the baby up and just holding him against his shoulder and ust cooes softly and rocks him🥺
The pack being so hesitant when they hear Lando plans on adopting his baby, not being sure he is old enough, but then they see him with little Max and he is so good! Just a gifted, caring momma!

Previously, I sent an AU with time travel + the accidental acquisition of baby Mordred + season 5 Merlin and Morgana + divorced parents dynamics + UST. 🤔 I was thinking... What if the accidental acquisition is of baby Arthur instead? Morgana time travels back in time to kill Uther, but doesn't realize she brought Merlin along for the ride (he's linked to her, being both her destiny and her doom).
Morgana kills Uther via poison and Merlin tries to stop her, but he's too late. Both proceed to argue about what she has done and throw spells to one another until baby Arthur makes an appearance. Gaius makes them responsible of Arthur (you killed the king, you deal with the consequences). In summary, prince Arthur grows up with passive aggressive foster parents with magic with a great ton of issues and maxed out UST. If and when that UST gets resolved, that's up to you. 😂
Arthur will be spoiled rotten by both of them lmaoo. They will make him read soooo many books. Morgana will teach him how to do politics and fight wars. At least MerMor will agree with each other on that aspect. There is increasing attraction and UST when their ideas match 😂. Bonus if by raising arthur they will both start to imagine what it would be like if they had a magical child aksjshjwsj (which brings them back to the mordred and aithusa question and then they fight again coz they’ll never get over it 😂). Then later cue teenage angst arthur coz he doesnt have 'gifts’ like his foster parents. I think Arthur will be a more okay king because of them at least XD
They’ll probably fall in bed while doing one of those heated fights about arthur, mordred and aithusa (they’re a mess). I can see that happening. Basically Merlin would be all 🥺🥺🥺🥺 when Morgana blurts out the truth about Aithusa in her frustration and rage and his whole attitude with her will shift 😏😏😏😏
But man the paradox this timeline will induce lmao
With Igrain and Uther dead and with the prince still a baby... that means the Purge will never start. Therefore, Nimueh and Balinor are still attending court. Magic is still alive and free in Camelot. The problem would be the civil unrest after the assasination of the monarch. So... who’s gonna show up and try to take the throne? I’m guessing Nimueh and Balinor would prolly fight it out? Morgana’s birth is probably secure coz the Duke of Cornwall wont have to go fight a war or smth. But the problem would be Merlin not being conceived if Balinor is a Camelotian courtier and his future mom is waaaay over farming in Ealdor. Unless Nimueh takes the throne and drives Balinor away (which is unlikely). Merlin would have to find a way to be conceived by his mother smh 😂... all the while raising a future prince with his sworn enemy from their own timeline 😂😂😂
This timeline also have the funny side effect of morgana and nimueh being in the same room as merlin. Imagine the bitchfights bruh. And Merlin, Morgana and Nimue would be of approx the same age. Morgana would be so insanely jealous of Nimueh’s confidence and merlin’s attraction to her and and vice versa. Maybe morgs will side with nimue bec ofc she will... or maybe not.. morgs cannot stand if anyone not her sits on the throne of camelot... she’s gonna bring nimueh down.. i just know it and... Omg yeah theyre gonna fight over merlin. All the while the Gaius x Alice storyline is happening in the background with a nice nimue x gaius x alice tension going on.
Arthur is gonna grow up with this political landscape and i shiver thinking abt it. Morgana would parade him around as hers and Merlin’s child in front of nimue and she’ll be extra flirty with merlin (holysht yep she’ll definitely seduce him to gain leverage over nimueh).

What is this canon: A modern dance piece/ballet made for the Paris Opera Ballet in 2016 with a cast of 54 male and female dancers who mostly perform as a chorus, with occasional solos and duets.
How long is the canon and where can you find it: This piece is about 30 minutes long. It has been performed by the Paris Opera Ballet (in 2016 and 2018) and will be performed by the Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle in November 2022. The recording from Paris streamed for a while on ARTE, and the whole recording occasionally pops up on YouTube or Vimeo (*cough* watch it before they take it down *cough*). There are shorter clips on those platforms, and you can check out the relevant tag on my Tumblr for stills from the show.
What do I like about the canon: If I had to pick just one dance performance/piece of choreography to take with me to a desert island, this would be a top contender. I just love everything about it: the styling of the dancers, the movement and how it might feel for the dancers to perform, the lighting design, the way Max Richter gave Vivaldi a spin, the hint of a story about the tension between the community and the individual… Since it’s technically an abstract dance piece, I would just love something that evokes the mood of the piece: the music, the costumes, the movement, that certain vague yet clearly present something that specific dancers brought to a role… So if you end up writing something that is more of a mood piece, something dreamy and phantasmagoric and prose-poem-y, a study of a duet or group’s dynamic, something closer to meta about either the making of a piece (incl. “how the theatrical sausage gets made” stories) or its meaning (whatever that may be), than a story with a plot, that’s great! And if you come up with story with a plot, that’s great too!

-If you go with one of the above options, one cool idea would be a found-document type of fic: the field notes or research findings of an outside observer (an anthropologist or biologist, a second-gen human explorer on an alien world, an alien scientist studying future Earth or the earthlings who came to their world), an apocalyptic log about an experiment gone wrong, a record/chronicle of a community (d)evolving (maybe by one of the community’s own members who’s trying to fight against whatever is happening to the others)…
-How do the seasons of the title and the music, and suggested by the shifting light, affect their existence as a group? What is the community’s annual or generational/life cycle like? If they are a society, what are their customs and mores? Are they, as a society or as a species, dealing with an ongoing or impending cataclysm (fictional climate change, another kind of natural or social catastrophe, even an extinction event)? How do they adapt (socially or through evolution/mutation? Well or badly, it’s up to you.)
-Is the dancing part of some communal ritual? Are the dancing couples in the Summer 1 movement performing a mating rite/public (simulated or real) sex ritual? Is it a preying-mantis mating situation? Is it ritual combat? What about the women’s and men’s group dances that follow (Summer 2 and Summer 3, respectively)? Are those connected to each other, like the men’s and the women’s dances in Pina Bausch’s Rite of Spring? Or, there are a few moments (in Summer 2, for example) where a group of dancers lifts one and carries them as though they were dead, before lowering them to continue moving and dancing – funerary rites? A ritual in which one person has to “play dead” and then maybe “be resurrected” for some reason?
-The piece also has the theme of the individual v. the group, in which standing out isn’t necessarily good or beneficial – something exploring that would be great too. Maybe the individual who stands out tries to make sense of their own and their group/community’s existence, and those efforts may or may not do them any favors.
-For something more meta, it would be cool to bring in Crystal Pite the choreographer as part of the worldbuilding and explore how the piece was made. (You can find lots of interview clips with Pite online, if you want to get a feel for her personality and esthetic approach.) Or for something more out there: maybe reality and art begin to blur, or the world being shaped on stage takes on a life of its own? Maybe that created world escapes the boundary of the stage and causes the audience/the real world to regress/evolve in unexpected ways?
Space 1999 (Big Finish Audio)
John Koenig, Helena Russell
“Rise and shine, Commander, it's doomsday.” ~ Helena ‘Ray of Sunshine’ Russell, everyone
What is this canon: An audio-drama reimagining of a 1970s TV show. The set-up is pure throwback pulp sci-fi: In a technologically advanced version of the year 1999, humanity is using the Moon to: safely store the Earth’s nuclear waste; set up a launch pad for an almost-as-fast-as-lightspeed ship that will explore Meta, an Earth-like planet five light years away; and operate a permanent research station/living module called Moonbase Alpha. On September 13, 1999, all this comes together to knock the Moon out of orbit and send it hurtling down a wormhole and then drifting through deep space. On board the damaged but still functioning Moonbase Alpha, a dedicated crew attempt to make the best of things and maybe find a new home for humanity, as well as navigate interpersonal tensions and the problems that arise when a bunch of people find themselves adrift from all they knew, with (probably) no hope of going home. Along the way, there’s a lot of science-ish worldbuilding, first contacts with various aliens, politics, snark, and eventual shippiness.
How long is the canon and where can you find it: So far, there is a two-hour pilot episode titled Breakaway, followed by two seasons/volumes, each comprising three episodes, each one about an hour long (Volume 1 comprises The Siren Call, Death’s Other Dominion, and Goldilocks, and Volume 2 comprises Mooncatcher, Earthbound, and Journey’s End). You can buy them on CDs and/or as digital downloads on the Big Finish website. The CDs can also be found on Amazon and eBay.
What do I like about the canon: I’m here for life on Moonbase Alpha, some of the worldbuilding, and of course my requested characters: John Koenig (voiced by Mark Bonnar, cruelly denied the use of his Scottish accent since Koenig is American) and Dr. Helena Russell (voiced by Maria Teresa Creasey). Koenig is the base commander, very straight-shooting, father-to-his-men, will-take-personal-risks-and-act-the-hero-even-when-that’s-not-responsible-leadership, has been around the block enough to be skeptical of his bosses’ motives, and can be a bit of a deadpan snarker when he’s tired or stressed. Russell is the chief medical officer, who cares deeply about the crew’s wellbeing while also being hilariously abrasive and short-tempered (even when she mellows out, she’s got a mouth on her), one of those people that cannot not drop a snarky comment in almost every situation and to almost everyone, even her allies and friends, and especially authority figures. (Any other canon character is also welcome to appear – I especially like the kind, competent Prof. Bergman, and I love to hate the smarmy if deeply human Simmons.)
I have not watched the original TV show or listened to any of the Big Finish behind-the-scenes materials. If you write this canon for me, any reference to those will be lost on me, so please write just about the audio drama.

Prompts:
-I do ship Koenig and Russell a lot. By the end of Breakaway, even before the Moon goes on walkabout, they’ve gone from “ugh, that company man”/“boy, she’s a tough customer” to “can you work with me here?”/“okay, but I’m not committing to being on your side” to “we rely on each other unreservedly in the face of greater challenges.” By the end of Volume 2, they were moving toward a proper relationship when the plot got in the way (I was not super into Helena getting essentially alien-sex-pollened and the whole she-needs-to-stay-so-Koenig-can-function-in-his-job attitude of some of the other characters. BUT I appreciated some of the relationship beats that came out of that, like Koenig’s vulnerability and trying to salvage his pride, and Helena too having to deal with how she’s been more vulnerable than she’s allowed herself to be before). Give me more of their mutual spikiness and growing trust. They have to work together to keep Simmons’s scheming at bay. One again takes a personal risk, and the other chews them out for it. “You’re not so bad”/“don’t tell anyone.” Thank-god-you’re/we’re-alive(-you-idiot) kiss or sex. The plot keeps happening, but surely they can snatch an hour here and there to bang in some lunar broom closet, for stress relief if nothing else (or so they tell themselves). With everyone looking to them for leadership, intimacy between them could tip the delicate balance of life on the base, so what to do? If you’re writing smut, please keep it M rated at most (tell me what’s happening and/or how they react/feel/talk through it, by all means, just no abundant anatomical detail – or just do a fade to black!), and I’m good with anything (incl. pegging) except het anal, please and thank you.
-Or, since it’s canon that Koenig was Moonbase Alpha commander ten years earlier, what if Helena’s been stationed on the Moon all that time and they have a history/unresolved issues/UST from way back then? That would put a whole new spin on her initial annoyance at his being assigned to Alpha (again).
-Going through the wormhole causes a time loop.
-Random detail, but I thought the bit in The Siren Call when people are baffled by what “bailiwick” means was hilarious. A plot or part of a plot that hinges on the meaning(s) of a word or idiom? And yes, humor is always welcome, be it of the snarky dialogue or the wacky space mishaps variety.
-More worldbuilding about life on the drifting Moon. There are throwaway mentions of hydroponics, recycling, life-support systems, artificial gravity, and fuel, and needing to conserve resources and repair systems with built-in obsolescence. They have travel tubes, wireless comms, scanners that can capture a living organism’s physiology on the fly, but no nanomachines, 3D printing, or ability to manufacture what they need on site, and even their ability to harvest raw materials seems mostly theoretical. I’d love to know more about how that all works. Or, in addition to being Moonbase Alpha’s Bones McCoy, Helena is also one of the world’s leading experts on cryonics – how could they make that work with the limited resources they have, or is it totally impractical, as stated in Earthbound/Journey’s End?
-Ditto more exploration of how the mini society on the base functions. I’m most invested in what we can glean about all that happens in those stretches of time between the episodes, when the characters spend months, in Helena’s words, “staring at bare bulkheads,” going stir-crazy and being run ragged with the constant stress and uncertainty, the relentless grind of work shifts and daytime cycles. The characters barely have time to register that more than two-thirds of the crew got killed when the Moon went through the wormhole before they have to run to keep up with the plot; maybe explore how that shock and grief affect the survivors? Or dig deeper into the discontent and despair caused by knowing they’ll never see Earth again, which are touched on in Volume 2. Examples of the kinds of society-in-space canons I enjoy: Ursula Le Guin’s novella Paradises Lost or the movie Aniara (but don’t make things that depressing and hopeless), with their space cults/religions, attempts to rethink social and family structures, and brewing civil conflict between factions on board. (I don’t mean you should write a fusion or crossover with these other canons; I’m just mentioning them to give you a sense of where my tastes lean.)
-The Brexit metaphor/mutiny plotline in Earthbound/Journey’s End just begs to be explored further. Please don’t focus on -- you could even completely ignore/retcon! -- what happens with the telepathic aliens in those episodes, and instead tell me a story about how the factions on board continue to antagonize each other. There’s a brief mention of how they cannot afford to descend into civil war. Make it happen anyway! Splinter groups, unexpected alliances, divided loyalties, switching allegiances, tragic losses, Pyrrhic victories, oh my!
-More space worldbuilding (spacebuilding?)! You could spin something on the basis of actual science, which the show itself tries to do to explain the wormhole, why the Moon doesn’t just disintegrate, etc. It’s all still totally preposterous, so go wild! Canon makes space super crowded (the wandering Moon keeps encountering habitable planets, aliens, and other human expeditions) – what if they actually had to cross vast, empty distances with minimal chance of encountering something else? Or you could go for something more in the vein of how classic sci-fi imagined outer space and exoplanets. Please note: I am not very big on monster-of-the-week stories, culturally homogeneous planets, or humanoid aliens (even though the whole “is anyone else wondering how come the alien speaks English?” bit in The Siren Call was great). If you want to write a first-contact story, think hive minds, sentient gas clouds, an AI which may or may not have an organic intelligence behind it, a being which is intelligent but not sentient/conscious/self-aware like in Peter Watts’s novel Blindsight, having to figure out how to communicate with aliens like in the movie Arrival, or something like Solaris… OR they never do circle back to the top secret first contact Koenig and Simmons were involved in in the past – what was that all about?
-The drifting Moon is in danger and the characters have to figure out a solution on the fly (ha ha). Or the base computer goes all HAL 9000 on them – they should shut it down, but how do they run the base without it? Or they try to figure out a way to “drive” the Moon rather than just drift. Space action adventure and competence porn ahoy!
-They somehow do get back to Earth, only to find that the Moon’s absence and possibly time dilation (due to a worm hole, figuring out how to create a faster-than-lightspeed drive, or some alien thingamajig) have caused such massive changes, the Alphans are now strangers in a strange land.
Starred Up (2013)
Oliver Baumer, Eric Love
“I don’t want to think. Right now, I want to fucking hurt you.” ~ Oliver to Eric, as one does
What is this canon: Gritty British prison drama about Eric (played by Jack O’Connell), a violent young offender who gets “starred up” (sent to an adult prison early - he’s 19, should be in young offenders till he’s 21) and quickly gets into conflict with several other prisoners as well as guards and staff. He also gets roped into participating in a therapy group run by Oliver (played by Rupert Friend), a well-meaning if sometimes out-of-his-depth “posh boy” who sees Eric as something more than just an incorrigible thug. Not helping matters is the entire prison system, as well as the fact that Eric’s own father, Neville is serving a life sentence in the same prison and has very narrow views on how Eric should be behaving – and talking about his feelings is not a part of it. The free-flowing conversations in the group therapy scenes are easily the film’s highlight, for me, as is the complicated dynamic between Eric and Oliver.
How long is the canon and where can you find it: The movie is about 100 minutes long. It’s available on DVD and can be streamed for free on several platforms (Peacock, Vudu, Tubi, Roku, etc.) as well as rented on Amazon, Youtube, Apple TV, etc.
What do I like about the canon: Yes I do ship it, I do, I do!
Ahem. Don’t get me wrong, I liked what the movie did with the father-son relationship and its influence on both men’s character development – but I really wish they hadn’t got Oliver out of the action before the story’s climax (not like that!). The final denouement with Love father and Love son was great, as was the hint at the end that Eric learned something in anger-management group and has a support network that will help him a lot. But. I would have wanted to see more of the intriguing dynamic between Eric the intelligent, semi-feral yet not-incorrigible, young thug and Oliver the educated, dedicated, somewhat socially awkward, kind yet aware of his own potential for violence (what was he on about with “I need to be here”?), slightly older counselor. They had me at Oliver’s “I want him” and Eric later telling his father that Oliver’s a better man than Love Sr. Also the not-flirting and the push-pull in the scene when Oliver picks up Eric from his cell - yowza!
Any trigger warnings: toxic masculinity galore; abundant swearing; violence; male nudity; graphic discussions of het and gay sex; sexism, homophobia, racism; a character gets his head dunked into a dirty toilet; a character conceals a cell phone in his ass (not shown graphically)
Exception to blanket DNW: dubcon is a-okay! If you decide to go there, my preferred flavors of dubcon for this canon are: power differential makes it a bad idea but they do it anyway; “I know you want this”; “if the answer’s no/you’re only doing this for a dare or to prove a point, then why are you enjoying this so much [as am I]?”; no no yes a.k.a. starts as dubcon (or one of them thinks they’re dubconning the other), becomes enthusiastic consent. 
Prompts:
-I would love to see Oliver return to holding his group in prison, so the two of them can interact more, either in the movie’s immediate aftermath or years down the line, as it’s implied that Eric will be serving a long sentence. Give me more scenes from anger management or the ribald, honest, free-flowing conversations in group, either with the other men present (I liked Hassan and Tyrone especially, among the group members, and I also liked Neville’s celly/partner Ash) or a one-on-one session.
-An oblique or open-but-undramatic admission/declaration that they both know there’s something there, even if they don’t know what to do with it. Or, one or both of them knows exactly what to do with it, and the push-pull that would result from that.
-Dirty talk: used for arousal, as a defense mechanism, as a form of flirtation. Eric using slurs to assert dominance, and Oliver not letting him hide behind profanity, when he can use colorful language to express emotion and/or sexual interest. There could definitely be some verbal taunting/flirting about who wants/is eager to do what or is good at doing something. There may be some sniping comments about logistics and (lack of) condoms and barebacking and what men get up to in prison. There probably wouldn’t be deep discussions about sexual identity.
-An emergency in the prison requires a lock-down, so Oliver gets temporarily stuck in Eric’s cell or another room with only Eric for company. Things get porny and/or emotional.
-Eric is eventually released (you can handwave this so it happens soon after the movie or have it happen years later) and crashes with Oliver while he adjusts to the outside world. You guessed it: things get porny and/or emotional.
-How do they get to the point where both can cross that line from friends/whatever the hell they are and become, to lovers? (There’s Eric’s personal history and general discomfort with vulnerability, plus all the ways prison sex can be or make things complicated, and if it helps, I headcanon Oliver as either gay or bi and at least somewhat closeted, at work especially.) Who initiates and “directs traffic”? How does their always-contentious dynamic shift during and after sex? Is the sex an isolated (series of) occasion(s), or a progression/escalation over multiple encounters (how would I love especially an escalating series of encounters, let me count the ways)? Eric might seem like the logical initiator and/or dominant partner as well as using the possibility of sex to manipulate and exert control, but then Oliver might (or might not!) surprise him and is definitely the one more in touch with himself as well as aware of his custodial duty toward the men in the group.
-At some point in their intimate relationship (probably not right at the start, and probably not in prison, though if you can make it happen in prison, more power to you!), Oliver decides he’s going to take his sweet time and make Eric fall absolutely apart with pleasure, possibly while also using dirty talk to both arouse and empower Eric to own his desires. By that point, Eric is in a place where he can let that happen and enjoy it, even if he still talks tough.
-Or how about this: Eric gets out, relationship happens or is in the process of being negotiated, and while physical intimacy is a whooooole neeeeeew woooorld, you know what else would be cool? Phone sex. Yep. Or even, Eric gets himself one of those secret prison burner phones (preferably hidden somewhere that’s not someone’s arse), and… phone sex after lights-out and lock-down. Maybe nothing (much) has happened physically (yet), so phone sex can be a building block to that or one facet of that deepening intimacy.
-For smut: any top/bottom (or switching) combo is good. Hand jobs incl. mutual, masturbation, blowjobs, 69, intercrural, frottage, fingering, finger sucking, rimming, anal, dildos – all good.

My thoughts on Episode 18, A New Deal
inally got around to watching the episode and---
  So. They got Max and Eugene as the tease or whatever for this episode and before I even click on it I’m thinking to myself just don’t have any expectations okay?  Bury them.  Because they are cute in their own nerdy way but Jesus Take the Wheel their storyline has stolen so much time away from the storylines I’m actually invested in and been dying to see unfold this season.  Love Josh but gd.  The Pickle(d) Piper should not have accumulated more screen time up to this point than Carol.  Just saying.
The best thing about these two episodes so far is the flashbacks with Judith’s voiceovers.
TF are they including Daryl carrying Carol out of the tombs in that little montage of the people that go or die because nah.  NAH.
Ofc Pamela and Mercer appealing to Daryl to save Lance’s life ain’t gonna work.  But all it takes is one word from Carol’s mouth.
So.  Is Daryl legit pissed off at her or playing it up because of Pamela’s and Lance’s presence or a little bit of both? Because I’m about to take issue with him showing his ass like that to my girl when she’s just scrambling for a way to keep them all alive and leveraging what she’s got on hand.  Like stand down, Darren.  Damn.  
Who’s gonna write me some angsty, UST-filled fanfiction about the aftermath of that moment when our babies finally get to catch five seconds or five hours to themselves and Daryl’s all WTH, don’t sell your soul to these fuckers, and Carol’s like “I did it for you.  They were coming for you, Daryl.” And then they do more than just eye fuck.  Any takers?  Sarah? Silver? Charli?  Anybody?  
Oh, you know that hurt.  Almost feel sorry for Lance there.  
What did Carol have to promise them to get that deal?  You know it ain’t that easy.  What were the strings?  
They really playing up that underlying distance between Carol and Daryl aren’t they? Like they might have slapped a bandaid on the wound but it’s still there, festering out of sight.  
The way I giggled at Lance saying he was on an ant hill.  It was all in Josh Hamilton’s delivery.  
These power dynamics between Pamela and Lance are something else.  
Max got an axe to grind with Sebastian.
Carol and Lydia have my heart.  Cassady and Melissa are cut from the same cloth.  They don’t just play their characters.  They embody them and that hug melted me.  The hugs with Daryl, too.  
Why’d we have to zoom in on Carol’s face in the background of that long overdue moment where Daryl both acknowledged he knows Lydia saved Carol from opting out and thanks her?  Why? Furthermore, why did all the good, meaty moments happen offscreen on this show and they fill up the episodes with, well, filler?  Anybody? Bueller?  Bueller?  
D’aww. Sweet Gracie and Aaron moment.  That hug goodbye.  It makes me uneasy.  
Poor baby Judith has had a taste of peace, however fake it has been, and doesn’t want to have to bear arms anymore.  She’s had a taste of being a little kid instead of a little adult and doesn’t want to leave it behind.  
Carol and Daryl have absolutely been co-parenting those babies.  They are a formidable unit.  Even if there are arguably cracks in their foundation.  
More of this CW lottery business.  Ugh.
Carol wearing red again and looking beautiful.  
Are they finally gonna let the Ren Faire fairy tale take its last breath because this girl is tired AF of them taking that stick and beating it?  I mean, it could have been a lovely moment.  If they hadn’t already given them “closure” ten thousand times already.  Damn.  
Sebastian stay being a shitty baby wipe.  
In spite of her insta-status, I like Annie.  That almost certainly means she’s marked for death.  
I hope Daryl putting on his vest again means he starts acting more like the Daryl I used to know.  
The Sophia mention has me in my feels and they have Daryl distracted.  Like I know he’s worried for Judith because she’s pulling a Carl but I don’t like the way they played that. Sophia’s name after all these years should have stopped Daryl in his tracks and had him looking at Carol with that soft gaze he reserves only for her and those kids.  
Wait a minute.  Were Aaron and Lydia and her own insta-romantic partner heading back to ASZ or?

Carol and Daryl are totally giving me vibes of two best friends (secretly or not-so-secretly in love) co-parenting the orphaned daughter of their own best friends.  
Like c’mon. With all the Henry and Sophia mentions and helping Daryl navigate the moods of a preteen girl, Carol has to be swimming in her feels and I’m just sitting her like Daryl, my dude.  Take notice.

ok here we go young justice! kid au or as my idiot self likes to call it, younger justice. now i know kids fighting crime is already a Questionable topic but if tim and jon could be beating ppls asses at 10/13 then this works too itsj ust with oter characters. a lot of stuff is different so here we go
starting with bart! origin’s basically the same ‘cept he comes to the past much earlier do to PLOT DEVICE and because of this his rapid aging stops quickier so hes like.....idk 9~ 10 ish physically/mentally. chronologically younger, but this doesnt rly come into play. at this point, wally is still kid flash, probably on the later years but still kf, and barry is still around. max is still the primary caretaker of bart i think though since barry is mostly busy with mentoring wally and his own stuff to deal with yet another little speedster. bart’s personality is pretty much the same, just younger. obsessed with video games, has that youthful energy to him and is a real spunky kid. 
kon! same sort of deal.  lex gets that nice SUPERMAN dna much earlier and incubates kon earlier and instead of waiting til kon is teenaged/complete, lex gets idk impatient, opens tubes or whatever and kon’s like....idk 11-12. preteen ish. hes still got the same powers but its ultimately more hilarious for grown adults to be beaten by a preteen. kon’s MOSTLY the same, except trying to push that “im a Man and Masculine as Fuck” thing that a lot of boys do around that age. pubert? i dont know. clark finds out, is like “Oh”, and decides to take kon in despite jon recently having been born (maybe jon’s like 2-3 here? havent decided but i want jon to be AROUND so theres less of a plot hole.)
timmy! big change here? jason doesn’t die. hes still robin. around 17-18 years old, he gets a little tired of bruce and tries to branch out but is mostly still robin. BECAUSE jason is still around, tim isnt robin. YET. but hes still got potential and after some PLOT DEVICE INSERT HERE I HAVENT FIGURED IT OUT YET, bruce realizes he could use tim’s expertise and rly just wants another kid to spoil and takes him in. further into this au jason might get tired of being robin and either go the nightwing route (make his own superhero persona) or just be a normal teen. idk. tim’s gonna be like 10-11 here. nerdy, kind of reclusive, a bit of a knowitall but really cares for people even though hes kind of a loner.

‘Baby I lied’, also reminds me of the byler fight where Mike insults Will/talks about El and then says to Will “ But, we’re not kids anymore. I mean, what did you think, REALLY?  That we’d never get girlfriends? Sit in my basement and play games for the rest of our lives?” Causing Will to storm off crying- thinking Mike doesn’t even imagine Will being there for the rest of his life (in favor of a girlfriend).And then Mike (although already knowing of his feelings for Will) realizing that it wasn’t a temporary crush/phase- but that he was in love with Will. And only realizing he can’t live without him when Will left. Making it sink it to Mike that he was lying to Will during their fight.

also ‘Love is a battlefield’ (could be recontextualized/interpreted through a que*r lens  given the time period-typical hom*phobia) . Love would be considered a ‘battlefield’. ( The song could be. about 2 people refusing to state their feelings/ holding back from doing anything romantic. Despite both people in the song secretly knowing the other secretly reciprocates mutual romantic feelings)  . But they fear pursuing anything cause society says their love would be ‘wrong’. It also reminds me of s3 byler fight . Both ‘standing’ secretly in ‘heartache’. One character in the song(Mike) being mean to the singer who’s angry and wants to go home (Will). Then after that (Mike/song character) begs the singer (Will) to stay but then is mean to the singer again . So in response (Will/singer) gets annoyed and then asks ‘am I in your way? or am I the ‘best thing’ you have?(s2 byler ref). And the singer could internally question if they made a move on the Mike (/song character) would they be rejected? And like that singer ,Will, also throws Mike’s words in his face by saying he actually did think they’d be together for the rest of their lives without girlfriends (cause he may suspects Mike is full of shit?). The singer pretty much says-when it becomes impossible to ignore your romantic feelings for me - you’ll realize you’ll need me ! The song also emphasizes they’re “young” (kids) and Will/the singer  questions if their love will get  “old” , but quickly decides their love can’t get ‘old’ or die (despite Mike’s lies stating the contrary) * Also saying “no promises” could be a ref to show it’s the opposite of mileven who have the promise line.*Seems like the song is from Will’s pov.

‘Kiss off’ could also be seen through a queer lens aka Mike trying to deny he’s gay but realizing at the end of s3 it’s not a phase. And hopefully learning to accept it in s4.

 The power of Love is the 1st song that shows El desire to learn about love despite it scaring her and not really understanding her relationship with Mike. (it’s a very heteronormative idea- “I’m your man /i’m your women” so we’ll fall in love). It also shows her more questionable behavior like spying on Mike. (The later songs illustrate mileven falling apart.)

Don’t tell me lies - (El in s4) saying they’re whole relationship is a lie and she was ‘naive’ to think otherwise.But now she knows her Mike will be with someone else and their relationship was always based on a lie. And she’s ok on her own. “Every move you made before was never meant for real.Over my naivety is this how I should feel?...they'll never ever be another one.Don't tell me lies.Don't tell me lies.Looking back I realize it's always been this way.We must note what has gone and never turn away...Broken loose from indecision.Now I'm alright on my own...I guess I'm alright on my own.”
 I feel like i’ve talked the lying aspect to death but it’s an important element to their relationship.
Mike while apologizing to El at the grocery store never apologizes for lying -despite it being the cause of the breakup . He never apologized for lying cause the love is the lie- like Max said “boyfriends lie ALL THE TIME”. And it’s why the camera panned to Will when Lucas asked why Mike lied to her. And he never answers El’s question of ‘why do you lie?!’ (he just looks up silent and guilt ridden).  In s2, Mike says “i never gave up on you (to El). “ When moments earlier he says to Max “it took her just like it took Bob.” HE’S LYING AGAIN . He thought she was d*ad.Plus he also fought with Hopper in s2 (’about El’) in Will’s room too. He wasn’t actually calling Hopper the liar he was calling himself “a stupid disgusting liar”out of self hate . That scene was foreshadowing his lying to El in s3 (about his feelings for her). He blamed Hopper for his feelings for Will cause he told himself it wouldn’t have escalated if El had been around to ‘fix him’ . “I BLAME YOU! NOTHING ABOUT THIS IS OK! NOTHING ABOUT THIS IS OK. YOU STUPID DISGUSTING liar, liar, liar, liar”.starts crying.
In s3, mike (in Will’s room) did not reciprocate El’s kiss/ or say ‘i love you ‘ back  and had his eyes open while the same exact song plays that robin came out to: called ‘the first i love you’. These are the only times the song plays in s3. The ‘first i love you’ also sounds like ‘the first lie’ - that song played when jancy said they were just friends. it sounds the same cause jancy lied about it not being romantic while mileven lied by saying it was.
